Game Review: Wandersong
Tumblr media
I heavily debated reviewing this game. On one hand, I love it. It's an amazing game with a wonderful message and I've been thinking about it constantly. On the other hand, it's fucking buggy as hell and I'd never recommend it to anyone who has patience thinner than a 2x4 or epilepsy.
Welcome to Wandersong, where you play as one of the most bizarre creatures in the world.
An Extrovert.
Story:
Tumblr media
The world is ending and you gotta stop it! You're not a brave warrior or a clever mage, but you're a bard with a heart as big as your vocal chords. And by god you're gonna sing to save the world.
This game balances lighthearted goofiness and emotional depth with a good amount of skill. The characters are charming and funny, and the emotional moments are touching and thoughtful. The more you play to save this world, the more you fall in love with it.
Gameplay and Controls:
Tumblr media
If the story is the game's strongest point, the gameplay is it's weakest. BY A LONG SHOT.
I'm not gonna beat around the bush, this game is broken. The mechanics don't control very well, the physics of this world are often your enemy, and sometimes the game just will not work with you, which makes some puzzles just slightly more enjoyable than pulling out your own teeth with a crowbar.
In all honesty, I never got to finish the game. Because it Fucking broke halfway through. Fun fact, if you fail at one puzzle enough times because the physics simply refuse to work, the game just DELETES ASSETS FROM THE LEVEL. Have fun playing an invisible character falling through a platform that no longer exists, fucker.
To make matters worse, the accessibility options don't even work. I tried to toggle off the flashing lights option. It did fuck all. I tried to clear my game data to restart the game after it broke on me. The button does nothing. The only thing worse than a game with no accessibility options is a game with options that do jack shit and jill piss.
Sound:
Tumblr media
But, to a more positive note, the soundtrack of this game is very good. I do think it's a clever mechanic to use singing as your primary ability. And with a game that relies so heavily on music, it's no surprise that the music delivers, carrying the whimsical and adventurous tone of the story through its soundtrack. You're just a happy little guy singin' your way through this world, and the music does a great job of helping you feel that way. My favorite part was where you controlled a pirate ship with your voice. It's also very rewarding to recognize recurring motifs and see how they represent the overall story.
Art:
Tumblr media
The paper cut-out aesthetic of this 2-D game gives it a whimsical charm and a special aesthetic that helps make this game memorable. It just looks so cute. The character designs are all varied and unique, and the levels all have unique visual themes that keep the game vibrant and interesting all the way up until the end.
Playable, Replayable, or Unplayable?
Tumblr media
I want to say that it's a playable game. That you should play it. I fell in love with this game and its story, which is probably why its unplayable mechanics frustrated me so deeply. Though I wasn't able to finish the game, I did watch someone else's playthrough because I wanted to see how it ended, and I'm glad I did.
I loved the ending. I loved the way the story progressed and expanded, the themes that it used and the way that the characters developed. There was genuine heart behind the production of this game. If I could rank this game on story alone, I would give it a 10/10.
But for the game as a whole, a lot of things would need to change before I could mark this as an amazing game. The physics need reworking, the accessibility options need to actually function, and perhaps a failsafe like a level selector might be beneficial for people like me who got completely softlocked and would rather go to the beginning of the act rather than start over completely. It has amazing highs and some pretty bad lows, so because of this, I give this game a smack-dab in the middle 5/10.

Watching this 90s animated movie called The Princess and the Goblin, apparently an adaptation of a novel with the same name. I'm shocked by how good it is for a movie not made by one of the big animation studios at the time. It's got Tiny dog Hungarian animated movie quality of animation, so not the best of all time, but like I said I'm shocked by its level of competence.
The way the goblins are designed is really close to the way I want to simplify Underbed monster head and face anatomy for my more cartoony artistic abilities. You can really tell that the goblins and other creatures are what the animators really loved working on as that's when the animation really shines. They're way more expressive than the humans. I was unable to find a torrent and the YouTube upload I watched of it is in pretty low quality but I want to get a better view of how creature designs work in this at some point.
The story is basic but also pretty fucking good for random little 90s 2D animated movie.
Not familiar with the book though at all. So no telling how it works as an adaptation.
The one boy, named like Gurdie or something (lol) keeps getting up to cinematic platformer style escapades.
The movie also doesn't shy away from death and kill like some kids movies started doing in this decade. Like there's a scene where one of the goblins fucking whales on this kid. Hitting and kicking him and I'm like "wow they are really just showing a little boy getting beaten up huh?"
Interesting is there's some role reversal of cliches going on. The boy is held captive and has magical singing waiting to be rescued while the princess has the power to do shit. Which is neat.
The song the kid keeps singing is decent as well.
I can't tell how old the goblin prince is supposed to be but another bit of a trope reversal he's the one being forced into an advantageous marriage for the sake of politics by his parents. He has no actual interest in getting with the human princess. I'm assuming they're both around the same age because ultimately his mother is still calling all the shots. Interestingly is that the goblin prince wants to keep the boy who's being held captive. The mom then goes "no, wait until you marry the princess and then you can have as many humans as you want" so part of me is like "wait is the goblin prince gay coded?????" Near the end he jumps out and goes "I've come for my princess" but he immediately just manhandles Curdy instead. Like?????
I was hoping he'd have like a redemption or something. But no he fucking dies. He fucking falls to his death and that's it.
There's this plot where the goblin queen has more human-like feet and hides them and I'm wondering if she's a hybrid or something. These children sneak right into their bedroom and pretty much immediately the boy takes off her shoes lol. It's fucking wild. The nerve of this kid. Other than goblins being vulnerable on their feet this doesn't amount to anything.
I don't get why the boy is so skeptical about invisible magic grandma though. Like you're in a realm. There's goblins and you're like some sort of wizard bard. But the deal breaker is ghosts.
At the climax of the movie the princess' lady in waiting gets fucking piss drunk for whatever reason as this never really seemed to be her type of personality until now and of course that's when the goblins invade.
Also this boy finds himself in the armory and only grabs a sword, okay makes some sense. Armor is probably too heavy for him, but in the end the goblins are invulnerable except for their feet so the sword is completely useless and he's just wildly swinging it around which I find funny. It's like he was all "I have the opportunity to steal this sword" and just took it.
This movie also has "big fucking flood" just like Tiny dog movie and pretty much all the tropes that entails. Big fucking flood low budget 90s animated movie my beloved. Really like how the water is animated.
The goblin demon cat seemingly gets a redemption but not their child(?) prince.
I really liked this though. If I had grown up with it maybe I would have been autistic about it honestly.
The end credits have animations of the kitten character in pretty much the exact fucking way that the Vicious Servant shows up in the Heart of Darkness credits. Which made me lose my fucking mind
And then, while watching the credits
I see it
Pannonia film company.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT.
It is LITERALLY the same people who DID make Tiny dog movie????????????? The fucking screech that escaped my mouth.
So yeah my autism went insane from this. It's like if Tiny dog got an actual proper English dub. And the Mormons had nothing to do with it because there's a scene where good guys get drunk.
So yeah I do want to use some of the animation and character design of this as reference. I'm freaking out that it's the same animation studio as my beloved blorbo Tiny dog.

A Vampire in The BOTFA
Warnings: Blood, mention of hunting, locked in the Mirkwood dungeons, cursing
Pronouns used: She/They
Name used: Serena
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She followed Bilbo to Laketown. Electric blue eyes glowing through the darkened skies. The hobbit led her towards the tent that held the elven king and Bowman, her bright eyes meeting the grey wizard as they snuck past the guards.
"Bowman do you agree with this?" Mithrandir questioned. "Is gold so important to you, would you bide it with the blood of dwarves?" the wizard hastily questioned. Smoke falling past his lips as he stared the Bowman down who looked back at him with a Stern gaze. "It will not come to that. This is a fight they cannot win." Bard immediately replied. His voice was stern but almost uncertain with the dwarves decisions.
"That won't stop them! You think the dwarves will surrender but they won't. They will fight to the death to defend their own!" Bilbo quickly spoke. "Hobbit had a point." the taller agreed. "Bilbo Baggins. Serena.." the grey wizard happily spoke. Bilbo smiled while the other just gazed at him with the sharpness of electric eyes.
The two where led into the tent, the elven king sitting on the throne with a bored expressions. The vampire hated elves, their blood was awfully sweet, the temper was idiotic, and their arrogance pissed her off. When he finally looked upon the two he stood to address them and the wizard once more. "If I'm not mistaken this is the halfling and night Walker that stole the keys to my dungeons beneath the nose of my guards." Thranduil boredly spoke. "Yes.." the hobbit replied.
"You're guards where nothing but passed out on their asses. If anything, we simply walked by them without any trouble. Though your kind is quite weak." Serena mocked. This of course annoyed the king but they showed no sign of caring about his feelings. "Give him the damn thing.." she finally spoke to the hobbit.
"oh yes.. I came to give you this." Bilbo quickly said. He moved forward placing a cloth on the table, pulling it apart showing the heart of the mountain. "The heart of the mountain.." Thranduil whispered. "How is this yours to give?" Bard questioned. "I took it as my 15th share of the treasure." Bilbo simply replied.
"And don't think for a minute we're doing this for you. The dwarves mean a lot to us, and I'm certainly not going to allow an army of elves to destroy the people I care about." Serena sharply replied. Thranduil seemed surprised by her words, his blue eyes meeting her immortal ones.
Vampires and elves never got along, so for one of each to be standing within 5 feet of one another was amazing. A war would break out if they where anywhere else, but each of them knew it wasn't the time nor place. "Bilbo, please follow me.. Serena, stay." the wizard quickly said. "Stay?! With this thing?!" she called out, pointing towards the elven king who glared at her in return.
"We've met before.." Bard suddenly spoke. Serena looked over towards him humming. "Yea, I helped you and your children after Smaug burned your town to the ground. How are the little humans?" she softly replied. "Good.. They ask about the beautiful woman that saved them." he replied. She smiled softly looking through the opening of the tent. "I'd like to see them again." she softly spoke.
Bard walked with the vampire, she reached his shoulder in the platformed heeled boots, her jumpsuit tight against her body, the corset showing the vampiric daywalker engravings. "Why do elves and vampires hate each other so much?" he suddenly questioned. "Elves don't like that we are stronger than them. If you look off to Rivendell they accept the vampires as their own, but if you move to Mirkwood with the arrogant elves, they'll try everything in their power to either lock you up, or kill you. My family and Thranduil have quite the past." They mocked the elven king with the last sentence
πŸ•·οΈπŸŒ™πŸ•·οΈπŸŒ™πŸ•·οΈπŸŒ™πŸ•·οΈπŸŒ™πŸ•·οΈπŸŒ™πŸ•·οΈπŸŒ™πŸ•·οΈπŸŒ™πŸ•·οΈπŸŒ™πŸ•·οΈπŸŒ™πŸ•·οΈ
"You fight well for an elf." Serena mocked. The elven kings elk had fallen leaving the king to his legs. Standing back to back with the blood sucker was something he wasn't proud of, but he knew they where probably the strongest of the battle. "You quite like the human and his children don't you?" he poked. "You don't plan to drain them of their blood do you?" he harshly questioned.
A head of an ork was ripped from it body, blood spilling across the vampires arms. "I have my humanity elf." she growled. She turned facing him with brightening eyes. "If you have such a problem with others that find love, then you need to get your damn head checked." she snapped. She caught a hummer striking towards him ripping from the creatures hands and smashing it against it's head. "Just because you don't have emotions doesn't mean others don't." she whispered. Before he could reply they where already gone and out of sight.
Tumblr media
"Bard!" Serena called out. Their boots clicked as she stepped over bodies. "Sigrid!" she quickly said. The blond turned quickly, immediately running to the other hugging her tightly. "You're okay.." the child whispered against the others stomach. "Where is your brother and sister?" Serena quickly questioned. "I'm not sure.." she quickly replied.
"okay.. alright you know what, I want you to go stand with Gandalf and Thranduil do you understand? I will be right back with your siblings and da okay?" Serena softly said. The child nodding before obeying running off to the elven king and wizard who looked at her then towards the vampire who stared back before disappearing to search for the girls family.
"Bard!" They quickly called out. The tall Bowman turned quickly grasping the woman stopping her from stumbling. "Do you know where Sigrid is?" he quickly questioned. "Yes. She was searching for you, I told her to stay with the king and wizard." They softly replied. He sighed in relief, slowly removing his hands from their waist, Bain and Tilda giggling.
Once making it back to the third child, Serena kneeled down smiling as Bain and Tilda told stories of their bravery against the orcs. Serena loved children, they where so innocent and filled with with happiness that just made her smile. Her blue eyes lifted towards the Bowman who was watching his children speak with the woman with bright smiles.
His children weren't scared of her sharp canines, or the brightening blue eyes that shinned brighter than the sunlight. "Are we just ignoring the severe intimate tension between Serena and the Bowman..?" Bilbo whispered. "It is rather hard not to.." Thranduil answered.
"Elves.." Serena growled. "Blood sucker." the elven king replied mocking her.
Serena smiled while looking back at the kids and the Bowman. Unknown to her the king smiled down at her, coming to enjoy the banter between them.

Hello hello! Could i get a soft fic with Diluc or Venti? Hurt comfort preferably, with y/n getting hurt and they worriedly rush to help them? thanks in advance!
Notes: Hello this is my first time writing something of this degree. Also I have not officially viewed the story line other than the basics, so I'm sorry if the cannon is strayed. The map will not properly carry over so I must apologize. This is a technical gift for a friend so the y/n will have their characteristics, if you do not like said characteristics then I prompt you to scroll on, also on the topic of this being a gift I also feel the need to state ad this isn't my best work as I can be more lenient with my writing as I know this person personally and therefore joke around with it more.(The person who sent me the ask is the gift receiving the gift if you didn't already guess.) Also for the people who follow me I might start setting up a platform for writing after this goes up. Sorry for the essay, enjoy the story. Thank you.
Venti helps you! In his own way.
With a sky as clear as the lakes, and grass softer than the softest teddy bear. You find yourself under a tree. The wind softly blowing your hair as you gaze out into a pond not far from your resting place. The water waves and ripples in response to the wind. Birds fly above causing cascading shadows over the perfect field.
Pushing your hair back behind your ear, you soon grow confused. As you hear a gentle tune carried by the wind. You glance in the direction of said noise, to see a earth green young figure laying in tree.
Leaves gently float down letting the wind take it off. You gaze at young boy taking in his appearance. He lays relaxed strumming his lyre.
His hair that had a mysterious fade from black to a light blue. He wore a semi formal white top, interrupted by a chocolate brown corset. White tights leading down to loafers with a green pedant that adorned them.
Enchanted by his tune and marveling at his green cape which blown through the wind. You stand up and slowly walk over to this bard to only slip, fall and slam your head into a rock.
A sharp flash if pain rips through you as you are met with a complete blackout leaving you unconscious.
You awaken in what appears to be the second floor of the Angle's Share. On one of the hard ass tables next to a drunken bard, drinking in a fashion that could only be described as a mix between choking and chugging.
He notices you once he sets down his glass with a soft clink. A grin is splayed on his face as he greets you. "Hello!" He practically shouts. "You hit your head on a rock pretty badly so I brought you here and patched you up." He grinned at you broadly as if astonished for his own capability.
You were too stunned to speak not in an amazed way but more of a 'bruh' way. Finding your voice you speak up only to state "So your telling me you saw me unconscious and bleeding and yet you took me into a tavern instead of the church. Am I right?"
This green bard stood there dumbfounded to only say "I got you some whiskey if you were in pain." He limply hands it to you for you only to push it back towards him. He looks at you a bit confused.
"No-no thank you" you shook your head. He lowered the alcoholic drink and set it on the table. You swiftly slide off of the table. The bard suddenly finds his voice once again, "I'm Venti. What's your name?.
"(Y/N)" you respond simply. "(Y/N)? What a lovely name." He coos. You hide your blush and turn sharply and take down the stairs quickly. Venti follows after you to only see you catch your foot on the very most bottom stair and face plant. Causing your wound to reopen.
The whole tavern hushes for a second while you lay there debating on accepting fate and perishing. Venti rushes down ready to help as you stand up. "Let me go get the first aid supplies." He turns to run off for only Dulic to grab him by his cape.
You walk towards the door to try to go the actual church to get help but Venti is at your side once again. "At least let me escort you!" He grins. You simply nod a bit over his shenanigans. You swing open the door to see the down pour.
A umbrella gets thrusted in to your hands. You glance over at Venti, for him to remark, "What it's the least I can do! Plush it's not like you have an umbrella!" You are not in the right mood for this sunshine boy's shenanigans.
You open up the gifted umbrella, despite feeling dizzy and bleeding you walked on the stone pavement to the church. Venti rambled on about something to your left, you promptly ignored him since he was basically talking to himself at this point. After climbing up what seemed to be a million stairs you arrived at the church.
You pushed open the massive fucking doors, and practically stumbled over to the nearest nun. She gasped at your appearance and made you lay on a bench while she went to go get the head nun. The head nun moved you to a room with proper bedding. She fixed up your head wound and told you to rest. She then left you alone to rest. Which would usually be pretty easy if Venti wasn't talking.
You sighed and sat up swiftly, "Venti, I have to rest could you maybe be a bit quieter?" You asked him as nicely as possible. He nodded in response. You flopped back down grateful to be able to get rest as your back was hurt earlier from sleeping on a hard ass table. Your ears were soon met with a soft lullaby. You smothered a smile as you swiftly drifted off to sleep.
You awoke in the middle of the night. Your eyes slowly adjust to the dark lighting. Your eyes drift around the room to see a small figure slumped in a chair next to your bed. Somehow they didn't throw Venti out already.
You lay silently thinking about the events that lead you here. You slowly realize just how dumb the day has been. First you fell face first on a rock after being enchanted by a starling beautiful young man. Then said man carried you to a tavern where you got fixed up for the most part. You proceeded to fall face first on a flight if stairs. Then went to the church to get proper medical attention. It dawned on you that Venti had been the most well adjusted, despite being drunk half of the day. A smile crept on your face.
You fall back asleep to only be briskly awoken at dawn by Venti falling out of his chair. He hits the floor with a thud. You jolt up to see him starting to sit up. "Owwww..." He groans rubbing his head. You chuckled under your breath. His whole face lit up once he noticed your awakening. He giggled softly and raised himself to be sat back down. He smiles softly at you, and you can't help but smiling back.
A nun rushes in, "I heard a thud what happened?" She asked calmly. Venti giggles as you respond, "Venti simply fell out of his chair." You smile. "Ah" she replies and swiftly turns around and leaves the room.
"Well looks like you're feeling better." He smirked. "Yes" you nodded. His smile grew as he said "You know you were kinda cute when you were asleep." You quickly turned away hiding your blush. "Awww" Venti cooed. "So, (Y/N) where do you live, in Monstat?" He asked innocently. You glance back at him "I traveled here, I'm just visiting. I come from Liyue." You answered. "Oh" he gasped quietly.
"Well I must be on my way." You stood up. "What?" Venti practically whined. You glanced back toward Venti, "I was supposed to leave today. I'm moving on towards the next major city." You replied making your way to the door. "Aww" he said a bit disappointed. He snapped up and practically ran to the door right as you were about to open it. "Can I come with you!?" He almost shouted. "What?" You asked startled. "Can I come with you?" He repeated himself more calmly. "I'll think about it." You reply stiffly. You continue on your adventure Venti obviously taking 'maybe' ad a hard yes.
You two traveled together that day and for more days to com. But little did you know that soon you would share your first kiss with that strange man. Totally finding out that he was really old and was an Archon several days latter but that's a story for another day.
I struggled so much when writing this lol. Hope it's good. Merry Christmas!

The spoops I'm giving my D&D Party. Curled up in a perfect little nook of the canyon they're traversing, the party has unpleasant dreams...
Quip, the goblin cleric:
Your eyes open as you hear the bells. It's your turn. You take a drink from the tankard of water on your night stand and watch the small bit of flame flicker on the candle next to your bed. You curl your hand around it, guiding it to a waiting fresh candle in your lantern. There is a serene silence in the monastery. You don your robes and prepare your censor's incense. As you open the heavy wooden door, you douse the lantern, leaving only the faint red orange glow from the incense in front of you. You've walked the path so many times, and the dull glow is more than enough light. You trace your way through the halls of your fellows then up the stairwell to the main cathedral. A chill follows you and you find yourself huddling closer to your censor. It's darker than it should be. Especially as you draw nearer to the Eternal Flame. The white/ blue flicker of comfort you've always come to to pray... isn't there. At least, not as it should be...
You reach the crest of the stairwell, and realize you haven't been wafting the smoke of your incense. The prayer hall's columns and pews are dimly lit with a soft blue hue from the front of the chamber. You should be turning left to begin the circle to other bed chamber hallway and to the stairs that lead to the bell tower... but... that blue light is too faint...
As you make your way to the Pyre... you start to become painfully aware of how this inky darkness swirls and licks the edges of the lights. The usually pure plume of smoke that curls to the top of the monastery, is instead a blooming, thunderous cloud of black. Purple swirls of smoke and Lightening snap along the edges of the Pyre. And below it you see the dying light of the Eternal Flame. It dims and dims and dims as you creep forward, until it dies completely. The purple sparks arch from the black cloud... and as you focus on the center of it, you see a spined snout and two small purple points of smoke... following you. Then teeth emerge, black scales curling around a vicious maw. A deep chuckle shakes the ground then turns to....
The screams of Scorpia's apes as you wake up.
Forte, the kobold bard:
Your eyes begin adjusting to the dull light glowing at the end of a tunnel. You hear clanking of metal and heavy breathing around you. As the light grows brighter, you can better make out the shapes of dozens of other red kobolds around you. Shuffling and glancing around as you all make your way out of the tunnel into a large cavern. The red and orange glows are matched by a rippling in the air from heat. Molten rivers carve their way in a spider web of fire around and under youas you cross a small bridge over a particularly volatile pool. Amidst the crowd, you find yourself in the center of a platform surrounding a lake like expanse of bubbling, hissing magma. You feel this sense of command, this unadulterated fear wash over you as you see the surface begin to bubble... and you drop to one knee. Almost simultaneously with the others surrounding you.
The first thing you see as you brave a look up are horns, pale yellow as the liquid flames drip away. Then massive nostrils, flinging ember and smoke as they emerge. After the long snout, are two murky, sunken pools where eyes should be with thin little slivers of burning flames. You see wings begin to push the breaking magma and watch as it sizzles and slides off the torso of a massive red dragon. It slings it head back and forth. And it reached a massive clawed hand toward a group of worshipping kobolds. It scoops them up, and though they look frightened, they do not scream, as it swallows them. You see it rear back it's head, and you see ripples in its scales drift from the chest to its gullet. You see dust and rock collapse from the ceiling, but you hear no sound.
And the you're woken up by Scorpia's apes.
Arya, the teifling sorceress:
Soaring. Arcing. Enjoying the cold pelt of icy water the clouds leave on your cheeks. This flight is power. You can feel the hum of the elements' energy. You dip and weave until the clouds fade behind you. You drop lower, lower, lower until you hear this rush... of water. Waves crash beneath you, by the gods, have you ever felt so free?
You can hear the melancholy song of whales below you... as the waves break and the sea water is clear... and you see yourself. The haggard, scared, white scaled face of General Quorin. You watch the smile split your cheeks, and you turn to fly belly side up. Above you... breaking like the singing whales below... you see hundreds of white dragons... following you... dipping in and out of the grey black clouds...
Then you hear ape screams.
Gmork, the gnoll barbarian:
You were standing amongst the largesy gnoll horde you've ever seen, members of every pack. A massive blue dragon, standing above you all on a massive cliff, flickered back and forth from bright blue to rotting flesh. A black ichor oozing from its mouth and open wounds. The skies go from clear to black and purple clouds with silver lines of Lightening crashing in the distance. Behind it, diving in and out of the clouds you see numerous flashes of blue. At least a hundred blue dragons soaring above you. And as you look away, the horde is gone. And you are standing alone among the dunes of the Miraja Wastes. As you glance around you see an older gnoll woman approaching you, leaning heavily on a simple wooden staff.
She extends a hand toward you and you hear her faintly say, "Find me, pup. This must not come to pass."
Scorpia, the teifling druid:
You've been walking in the woods for some time. It's not often you get to, and you only have a few hours before you should head back to the crew and bunk down. Sledgehammer rarely advises hitting the surface for camp, must be some valuable cargo... but... the green in this wooded area are glowing? A faint glow... with a slow pulse...
You see a familiar glowing shape turn a corner in the sudden high walls of the bark and vines. As you follow, the underbrush become thicker and harder to navigate. Turning turning turning turning turning following the glow as you lose your sense of direction... and enter a clearing. An enormous statue of a dragon covered in moss and mushrooms and lichen stands before you. Its head arched toward the entrance you came from. The growth begins to fade away and with each lump of foliage that falls to the ground, iridescent green scales emerge from underneath, and the ground rots where they hit. The rot spreads and spreads, turning the ground to a blackened sludge that you sink into. One green claw reaches toward you... until you're woken for your watch. Which is uneventful until you feel the murk beneath you and see the shadows.
Then Scorpia summons four apes to wake the group and protect them.
