What's your favorite and least favorite stages in sonic adventure 1 and 2?

Ohh, that's a broad question...

Favorite in SA1:

Emerald Coast (Sonic): it's the first level in the game! The very first 3D level in the series! It has to showcase the amazing power of the Dreamcast and the game as a whole, and man does it succeed. This is just a fun level to traverse, I love how you go from the hotel beach to a more natural beach (progression!), but especially how surprisingly tough its limit in the A mission is: this is where you realize just how many shortcuts you can take with well timed Spin Dashes. Beautiful.

Twinkle Park (Sonic & Amy): Twinkle Park for Sonic is just wonderfully designed, not to mention aesthetic on point. I love how platformy it is, which allows you to use your skills to stay on top or even to perform skips! And Amy's version is her best stage lol, it's mercifully short but the creepy section inside the castle is iconic.

Speed Highway: All three characters! This level was the flagship level of the game and it shows. It's funny how absolutely pointless it is in Sonic's story, but who cares, you get to nyoom on the side of a building! Knuckles' version is a good introduction of his gameplay too, and I love the At Dawn section, how different it feels to explore the calm part of the city with Sonic and with Knuckles, one blasting through the streets while the other climbing between them. As for Tails, it is simply genius that for the whole game, he only plays truncated versions of Sonic's levels, but here, as he races against Eggman for the first time by himself, he gets to explore a part of the level Sonic can't access to, designed only for him! It's brilliant!

Red Mountain (Sonic and Knuckles): it's fuuuuuun I don't know how to explain it anymore I just love the level design of SA1, how many secrets and shortcuts it has! It has engaging platform and an amazing second act that has you dodging lava in an erupting volcano! Its theme? Fucking jawdropping. And exploring the same levels but with Knuckles, who gets to uncover even more stuff, makes me love his story even more!

Final Egg (Sonic): Appropriately long and challenging, a blast to zip through once you get familiar with its hazards. Love the slow descent into the core of the base, I'm a sucker for the feeling of progression. Full of goodies for the final boss too! And only Sonic gets to have the most hardcore track in the game lol.

Hot Shelter (Gamma): I was stuck for years on this level as a kid lol. Now I love it precisely for its challenge! Now you get to fear the timer! It only incentivizes you to perform as many chains as possible in this quite tricky level.

Least favorite in SA1:

All Big stages: yeah his gameplay is just not fun. Either you waste time understanding how fishing works (hi 8 yo me who couldn't read the instructions 🙃), or they're over in a matter of seconds. I do like the extra bits only he can visit, but their only purpose is for the extra missions.

Ice Cap (Tails): It's boring. You can't even fly to take shortcut. I'm literally just replaying the snowboarding section a second time. Out of three, because then Tails has his own sandboarding minigame. So uninspired... and it's the beginning of a long middle point in Tails' story that feels like a waste of time...

Sky Deck (Sonic): A very long level, and not particularly fun about it. I always hated the second part where you need to hang from bits to not be blown away by the wind as cannons keep shooting at you.

Hot Shelter (Amy): As Sonic doesn't visit this one level, Amy, the character with the slowest movements and whose gameplay revolves around gimmicks and clumsily avoiding ZERO, has the dubious honor of having to showcase it in its entirety. It says someting that the A mission's time limit is 6 minutes and 30 seconds.

Favorite in SA2:

All Sonic levels (minus Crazy Gadget): Is it cheating? Yes, but I don't care :P Sonic was the guy who got the most love in the game and it shows. I much prefer SA1's level design as a whole, but Sonic's levels (and his alone, Shadow's levels are a bit blander IMO) do a great job at just feeling... cool. You feel cool running from the military, running on their ships, escaping through the jungle! You do cool tricks and find shortcuts! My favorite is Final Rush and the vertigo it conveys <3 (I say "minus Crazy Gadget" because I just don't find it that fun to go through, even before the infamous Tetris room. It feels slower than the other levels, because of its gravity gimmick. I don't hate it, but eh)

Lost Colony: I don't like the mech gameplay at its core, but Eggman's levels (not Tails'...) are elevated by some pristine atmosphere and cool gimmicks. Lost Colony, especially on the Dreamcast, is just... eerie. The darkness that you need to light by shooting at enemies is a memorable setpiece. Underrated melancholic music too - Eggman has perhaps my favorite style in the game, with his darker guitars.

Weapons Bed: BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM 2000 POINTS this level is a stupid blast shooting at unactive robots shouldn't be this cathartic!

Meteor Herd: This level wins my love because you can take rockets to the very top, then drill all the way to the floor. That's the kind of shit that would have driven me insane if I played this game as a kid. More seriously, while it is perhaps the biggest hunting level in the game (or second, depending on how Mad Space fares), I never found myself lost or irritated in navigating it. Just take rockets to the top and then glide all over the place. I think it's well designed in this sense, better than most levels expanding horizontally!

Cosmic Fall: wheeeeee I love low gravity! Eggman getting to fly is just. good. it's a good gimmick! My only problem with this level is that it kinda overstays its welcome, but I don't mind lol.

Least Favorite in SA2:

Iron Gate and Prison Island: putting these together because they are utterly forgettable to me. I don't like the mech gameplay, I think it controls badly, and these levels aren't even saved by a fun gimmick - no, blasting doors is not entertaining. The only difference is that This Way Out is a jam, while Remember Me? is one of the most bland yet grating tracks in the OST 😭

Pumpkin Hill: This level is way too big for nothing. It's just... wide and empty. If it wasn't for the spoopy aesthetic and legendary theme, I'm not sure it would be as well liked as it is.

Eternal Engine: pain. misery even. agony if you will. Between the insufferable Artificial Chaos, the dynamite that if hit opens vacuums into an instant death, and the sheer length of the stage, this level is the opposite of fun. Tails was done so dirty in this game, I don't like any of his stages, but this is just tedious.

Mad Space: when you can barely control your character around the level and the hint system works against you for trolling purposes, you know you have peak level on your hands. Really good idea, excruciating execution.

my fields of mistria character, plus thoughts!

I just want to share my early take on this game. I didn't play the demo, but I have played other farming sims like stardew valley and coral island.

I'm pretty early in the game still but so far it's been SUCH a blast. I have literally barely put it down since yesterday afternoon. Some tiny things I adore that are standout to me are, -the pronoun options instead of setting gender

- the ability to customize your character wherever you go

- in settings, being able to turn off eating and drinking sounds (I have never seen this before in a game, I have sensory issues related to this and it also triggers my tics aswell so it is very comforting to encounter!)

- having hourly cycles for everything, but buildings always being open to use.

- npc locations being marked on the map

- twice weekly events to round up npcs and shop (unsure if more that get unlocked as game progresses but there is 2 I have seen, Friday at the inn and Saturday market)

- in game tracker of loved and liked gifts (stardew only added it with an update, this is just a stardew comparison really. old players know the frustration of having to memorise them all.)

- outfits that rotate with seasons!!!!

Then, I have some small criticisms. First, it's a bit confusing on how to acquire the tools. I had no clue you had to go to the fishing hut to buy a fishing rod. there isn't really dialogue that hints at this, though to some it may just be obvious- I didn't even discover the location for a good while. Which brings me to my second point, the map is a bit confusing to navigate at first. I am unsure how this could be fixed? Once you get used to getting around, there is sufficient points to get from one zone to another though. My third point is then, WHY IS COMBAT SO HARD? maybe it's just me.. but the enemies are incredibly difficult because of the way the sword swings. it pushes you forward alot, which with constantly moving enemies makes it really hard to aim. they also do a LOT of damage. The rock/non green slimes I have the biggest problem with, because unlike the bounce slimes and lamps, they don't really have a vulnerability/cooldown period. you can attempt to dodge, but then you can't really move in to hit them. and the triple hit ones in the water area? brutal. My final point is the amount of items. The museum is GREAT. I love donating to it! but, it gets frustrating especially when I find an item that actually cannot be donated. I understand why this is, but for the amount of fish especially that are undonateable, the task of finding everything I do need to find is very difficult.

to sum up, acquiring tools is confusing, map is not explained, combat hard, too many items.

Been playing BG3 again (I stopped at a certain point because I disliked enough of it to shelve it) but I'm back at it to actually form a good opinion on *why* I dislike it, since the refund period was already well out the window by the time I was fed up the first time around.

Why am I coming to you about this? Because I noticed something while playing and doing some digging on the other romance routes that I will not be doing. Astarion and Stolas are incredibly alike. It's fascinating to me, Astarion literally admits to the player that he manipulated you so you wouldn't ever cross him, but only after *he* fell in love does he decide you get agency. Which sounds very similar to how a certain owl treats a certain imp.

Honestly the more I play the game and do some digging on the fandom the more BG3 feels like Helluva Boss. Both stories had initial premise (for BG3 it was the Early Access, for HB it was the pilot/season 1) but fell into just being romance or focusing on the writer's pet (for BG3 this is Astarion). Both stories handle abuse abysmally (Wyll and Gale are both victims and yet their abuse isn't treated as serious? There was even a 'patch' where the PC could pressure Gale into group sex and he still expresses being uncomfortable the entire time, Wyll's abuse is... A fucking lot to get into) and both stories are just. Flat out racist? HB has the whole... Imps and Hellhounds metaphor going on (that gets conveniently forgotten about when we need to focus on how sad Stolas is) and BG3 also has fantasy racism (playing as a Teifling apparently has NPCs call you slurs right out the gate) but also just has normal, everyday racism in the foundations of the game (Wyll is the most lacking companion in content while Astarion gets more and more content, the lack of options for POC to make a character that even looks like them). *This* was 2023's GotY?

I'm so, so tired of mediocre at best pieces of work being propped up as 'the best thing ever and if you disagree you're a bad person' by fandom at large. I wish people were more critical of the things they consumed, I wish stories about male victims of abuse were treated seriously and not just made as wank fodder or without the author constantly implying that the victim 'deserved' it.

Apologies in advance if this is heavy, I generally try to form my thoughts about these things more constructively as I believe it's important to establish *why* something is flawed, but I'm so frustrated. It's hard to be charitable and kind all the time when it feels like doing so is coming up against a dead end. It also goes without saying that if any fans of BG3 see this, I don't hate you, I don't think you're a bad person for liking this game I despise, I'm just... Tired.

(I'd also like to request that this ask, if you decide to answer, is paired with the suggestive tag due to the language I've used. It's a personal preference, thank you in advance.)

Haven't gotten around to playing BG3, but between the resemblance to Stolas and the terrible flashbacks to actual worst character Iron Bull sleeping with your Inquisitor as a means of spying on them and then "catching feelings," I'm thinking I might have to skip romancing Astarion. At least there's plenty of other fish in the Baldur's Gate 3.

Monster Hunter Tri Diary, Part 1: Intro, Arrival in Moga, First trip to Moga Woods

So, inspired by @dragonflight203's Mass Effect replay posts (hope you don't mind me adapting the idea!), I've decided to do a "gaming diary" for my first playthrough of Monster Hunter Tri.

Thanks to the dedicated endeavor of fans from the MH community, the servers of Tri are finally accessible again, so I'm very excited to check this one out. The 3rd Gen is my favorite overall, and I've been yearning to see Loc Lac with my own eyes for years now.

But first, I'll have to spend some time in singleplayer to farm some equipment and re-familiarize myself with the game. Wouldn't want to do the hub quests ill-prepared! So, for now, we're starting slow.

Disclaimer: Text is paraphrased from my localization and might slightly deviate from the English version.

Intro

This is the first time I've seen the intro of MH Tri in person - and it’s such an amazing one, too! I love the correlation between the sea and land environments depicted here: The Jaggi pack is hunting the Aptonoths at the coast (great way to introduce the new small bird wyverns!), while the Ludroths are picking up the scraps that fell into the water.

That Great Jaggi was about to have the feast of his life on that Aptonoth, only to be bowled out by that Rathalos. xD Dude wanted his lunch back so badly that he was even willing to make a stand against the Rathalos. Probably wouldn't have held out for long, though, with Jaggis being weak to fire. (If Tri had turf wars, that Great Jaggi would've been totally obliterated.)

And when the Lagiacrus shows up, the Jaggis are just like: "Okay, this one’s way out of our league. Let’s get the hell out of here." xD

One thing I love about the Lagiacrus is that he's designed like an antithesis to Rathalos: Rathalos wields fire, which is the Lagi's primary weakness. Meanwhile, Rathalos himself is weak against lightning, which makes him vulnerable to Lagiacrus’s attacks. Both are the kings of their respective element, but when encroaching on Rathalos' territory, the Lagiacrus is like a literal fish out of the water.

I wonder what would happen if there was a turf war between them, though. Would there be a 50:50 chance of either one winning? Would the Lagi try to pull Rahtalos into the water? Would he even get out of there by himself? (I imagine it would look like a bird of prey that crashed in the water, but much bigger. Poor Rathalos might need a hand. xD)

I love how Lagiacrus turns away in an "Eh, I didn't mean to hunt this anyway" manner; like having his snack snatched away from under his nose hurt his pride, but he tries to act unbothered by it. xD

Ah, guys... I always get a little teary-eyed when the MH Tri main theme comes up. The Rathalos flying over the vast plains, the music picking up, and then the view with the hunters standing at the cliff... It really doesn't get better than this. :,)

Arrival in Moga

Ah, it's been ages since I saw that cutscene... It's technically the same as in MH3U, but still it feels so good to be back. I love how you see the villagers just going about their daily lives, the children being excited about the trinkets the Chief's Son brought back from his trip and all that... It evokes such a homey feeling right from the start, and it makes the village community feel that much more like family.

The chief actually mentions the sea people having crests on their skin and looking a little different from normal humans. I remember this from the MH artbook, where it's stated they gave them a different skin tone/markings as well as webbed hands to distinguish them from normal humans. I thought this was just a scrapped concept (since you don't see much of a visual difference in-game), but I had no idea there was in-game dialogue about it. Cool!

"Diversity means prosperity!" That's actually a really wise quote right there. Both the sea people and wyverians are knowledgeable in their own right, but each have different skills. If they unite them, everyone profits. (I think we could learn something from this for our own society.)

I love the Guild Sweetheart from MH Tri/3U. She's legitimately my favorite of all the Guild receptionists in Monster Hunter (at least those I’m familiar with). And she's trying so hard - she's really upset the Guild apparently forgot about them in this backwater village. Hang in there, sweetie!

"The Guild has permission to hunt and do research in the Moga Woods, and in exchange, we help the village with its problems." A fair trade, but I wonder if the Guild might have ulterior motives. Like, what are they doing with the research results? And do they really only permit just as much hunting as the monster population will allow, or is that just a farce? (I always trusted the Guild was true to their word, but after watching a few Monster Hunter lore videos, I'm not so sure. Ah, I was so gullible back then... xD)

The gossipy lady really loves her silly word games. (And so do I. xD)

"The Chief must have really good relationships with the Guild if he got a hunter like you to come to such a small village in the middle of nowhere." Not an unreasonable thought, actually... How did he convince the Guild to send a hunter to Moga if they otherwise completely ignore it? Is he friends with some of the higher-ups?

"For safety reasons, we’ve collected all information about monsters in a so-called "monster list"." Uh-huh... "Safety reasons"... I'm telling you, the Guild is definitely keeping secrets.

Okay, so the item seller really likes hunters. This reminds me, I think there's one single NPC in the entire series who couldn't stand hunters. (I believe it was some guy in Minegarde, though I can't say for sure since I've never been in that city myself.) Is this dude the only one or are there any others who actually dislike hunters?

I love the Outfitter with her "very important" virtual tests. Like yeah, I'm sure that fantasizing about slaying monsters with no first-hand experience will bring you that much closer to finding the "ideal weapon". (I gotta say, I love this kind of humor that Monster Hunter has - it's so dumb, but in a hilarious kind of way. The game knows it's dumb and doesn't take it too seriously, so it almost feels a bit like satire.)

I'm also quite fond of the Fishmongeress. She is warm-hearted and helpful, but also very assertive and knows what she wants. My kind of woman!

I love the dynamic between the two kids; like one is constantly bragging about how smart he is (while actually being really dumb), while the other, shy one is the actual smart one (can confirm this from personal experience xD).

Our local "whizz kid" tells us that the villagers are threshing rice at the windmills in Moga Village. (The ones you can see in the background near the armory and if you walk across the leftmost pier.) That’s probably what the farm is for, though I haven’t seen any paddy fields there.

You know what I find absolutely hilarious? The way the game incorporates gameplay tips. The villagers say stuff like "Okay, so try imagining a "screen", alright?" and "Try imagining a thing called "Wiimote". No kidding, just try it!". They talk about a yellow cursor ("I know: a what?!") like it's the weirdest thing ever, and "saving the game" is treated like some outlandish slang word. Like, the developers were probably aware that to the people in-universe, these explanations would sound entirely nonsensical, and they put in the extra effort to make it funny - I love it.

Also, the UI design in Tri is absolutely gorgeous. I love the "tribal" style the old games had going on. MH World can't hold a candle to this!

I remember there was an old post on the MH Lore Tumblr blog (sadly, it's been defunct for a while now) that in the MH universe, the Felynes are treated like cheap laborers who are always given the shit jobs nobody else wants to do. Considering how they're constantly seen in positions like chamberlain, farm worker etc., I believe there might actually be something to this. It's kind of sad, but these kitties really don't seem to have the best standing in MH society... :(

I love the Felyne-specific language, though. (Like hairstyling being "grooming", "child's play" is "kitten's play" and so on.) It's so endearing.

So, the shy kid tells me there's a cave at the farm, but I shouldn't go inside because the Chief is gonna get really mad if I do. The Head Farmer tells me it contains some kind of ancient weapon. From what I remember from 3U, that "weapon" is a mask for the Shakalaka. (It's funny how every Monster Hunter used to have this "special", sword-in-the-stone kind of weapon.)

Moga Woods (day)

I gotta say, from a gameplay perspective, I think the tutorial for Tri is really well done. It doesn't immediately throw you into a timed quest so you don't feel pressured from the get-go, and it introduces you to all core mechanics bit by bit.

Village Chief: "Can you hear me?" Yes, I can hear you. I'm not sure how you can speak to me since you technically should be back at the village, but I hear you. (Do these villagers have mastered the art of telepathy somehow?)

"My ancestors had a saying: "Wherever you go, there you are."" Wow - I never could've figured this out on my own. Truly, the wisdom of ages.

It's easy to forget, but MH Tri is actually the first Monster Hunter where gathering points are displayed. I remember how distressed I was when playing MH1 and realizing there were no pop-ups to mark gathering spots. (And now that I’m used MH1 and Freedom Unite, I have to get out of my habit of pressing the gathering button at suspicious looking places. xD)

"That's an Aptonoth: a herbivore. Eats... herbs." You don't say, Chief. You don't say.

I remember when I first played Monster Hunter, I felt so bad for killing an Aptonoth. Now, I’ve kinda gotten used to it - still wouldn’t say I feel good about it, though. ^^’

"You're just like me when I was your age! Of course, my stamina bar was way longer." Yeah, sure - just don't forget to toot your own horn.

When finding the Chief's Son: "Sorry we couldn't talk yesterday, though natural disasters are a great conversational topic!" I've said it once, I will say it again: I love Monster Hunter’s humor.

"I'm Juni-- Er, I'm the Chief’s Son." Ohh, do I hear someone having daddy issues?

"Our tent and bocce set were in that destroyed camp." Oh, no - due to the earthquake, the villagers can't play bocce anymore. What a tragedy.

”I’m so hungry, I could eat an Aptonoth.” Well, friend, you’re in luck - I’ve just slaughtered one of these beasties.

Aaand he snatches the meat right up. Okay, dude - have fun grilling. I’ll just go back to the village all on my lonesome, I guess…

And thus, after finding the lost son and completing our first job for McDelivery, we return to the village...

See on one hand I genuinely appreciate the attempt here.

On the other hand this is extremely fandomized and I can't really learn anything from it as a result, especially considering that this covered stuff I already sorta know from just having played through the first major part of the game before having issues with it but more specifically from the fact that it's on the website for the game.

I need to reiterate my first bit here, I genuinely appreciate the attempt and I do not seek to belittle or insult the sender or anyone in question for attempting to enlighten me on the game but hear me out if you will...

All the information provided can be obtained from the website for the game or the first 10 minutes of the game; however it is only partially factual.

I am interested in Limbus Company, the game; not "Limbus Company The Abridged Version As Seen by the Fandom." When people go on and on about character analysis and plot depth and why it's so cool and interesting and deep and fun I want to jump in and engage with them on the narrative and such, but I can't because I'm not: A. Financially well off to Gacha for shit. B. Good enough at the game to get very far. And as a website that talks a lot about accessibility in games I feel like if anyone is going to shoot me down with a "git gud" it'd be kinda dumb, like sir/ma'am/individual of non-specific gender identity; you are on the "games should let you experience the story even if you're bad" website, please sit down.

I was honestly kind of hopeful that I would get some serious answers; and while some people have given me more serious answers than others; a lot of what I get is either specifically the start of the game which ignores/overlooks/doesn't mention the folks Dante is having an encounter with at the start, the fact they can use their clock head powers to turn back time and revive the sinners; or even the fact that they have no idea why any of it can happen. Like no one has even mentioned the whole star thing? I think it was a star? Something like that, anyways that thing was pretty cool and no one talks about it.

What I do often hear is how cooky and ku-ray-zee the main cast of silly little guys is; which I feel massively takes away from who they actually are.

"And our ptsd riddled cockroach: Greg" Alright since I've actually played through the first bit of the game so I know just enough about Gregor's story, why do we summarize a man who literally was a child experiment; who was betrayed by the only parental figure he knew; who was made to kill and murder without understanding of it literally like drugged or some shit to think he was just cutting apples; and who's body literally mutates into a cockroach down to just "lol he's a silly little guy with ptsd" ptsd from what exactly? Oh you mean the fucking Smoke Wars? One of the if not the biggest event in the PM Universe?

Like okay I understand I said "hey maybe don't send me entire documentary style paragraphs of text because my ADHD brain will not let me read them" and that's true, but I also really don't vibe with this whole concept of "this person doesn't know the characters at all so I'm going to call one bisexual, I'm going to call one a mommy, I'm going to call one a ptsd riddled cockroach named greg lol" Like I don't know how much of this is fandom and how much of this is real anymore. I know that some characters in PM's universe ARE LGBT so the idea of one of the Sinners maybe being Bisexual isn't too far fetched, but is that completely fandom interpretation or is it real? I sure as hell don't know when characters like Gregor who have deeper meaningful stories that tie into the world as a whole are boiled down to a one line joke about, I guess his name being Greg?

Like again I have nothing against the person who sent this or anything, I'm sure you meant well and I'm glad you're excited enough about the game that you reached out to me; that's all great and such, but I can't help but need to point out that you're talking to someone who knows almost nothing, but not nothing; about this game

and you're choosing to represent it in such a way that might be factual or might be fandomized and I can't tell the difference when the things I know are fandomized are present or when it mostly consists of jokes.

Kind of not really. Like I'm not even going to get into the fact that technically speaking Dante is a Clock Person not necessarily confirmed Clock Man. I AM however going to get into the fact that they come to Dante's rescue(?) during what is essentially an execution; Dante is going to die and these 12 sinners jump in to fight for them for seemingly some reason we don't get to know yet. Hired is a much better word than abducted in this sense. Don't even get me started on "the lamest badass" because like, that entirely ignores the fact you're talking about who I can only assume is Vergilius AKA The Red Gaze, which is sorta huge considering what we've seen of Color Fixers, and you know; the entirety of the Comic/Light Novel Leviathan released prior to the game. What would a color fixer be doing with the sinners? What is his connection with Dante? Even having read Leviathan these sorts of questions are interesting and they create interest as someone who wants to question and explore the setting and it's themes.

AND I'M SORRY BUT "HIS DAUGHTER"??? Has that been confirmed because I highly doubt that unless there's some dialogue somewhere in the game that shows he adopted her or something, I mean yea he clearly cares about the orphans, but like I don't recall him ever adopting her and if he did I can't tell if you're telling me a fact or a fandom here because of everything else you've stated.

Are you beginning to see the problem here?

I literally have to wave off everything you just told me as no more than "lol silly jokes man lol" and I don't mean to be some asshole about it either but this isn't really going to help anyone get into a game or a story or anything because I don't really KNOW anything about it.

Again I'm not mad, I'm not trying to be rude; I've got nothing against Alex or anything! I appreciate someone taking the time out of their day to send me this but it ultimately doesn't tell me anything I'm just as much in the dark as I was.

This is specifically why it's so hard for me to interact with a lot of larger communities, a lot of the information I want is factual, from the source material; but I'm perhaps not skilled enough at the games to obtain it myself, so I turn to the community for information since people tend to enjoy talking about the things they like, and instead of getting actual information I get in-jokes I don't yet have context for, and fandomization that isn't actually true to the source material.

I understand I may come off a little harsh here, so for that I do apologize if I've come across rude. That being said, please do try to refrain from sending people who know next to nothing about your interests, a ton of fandomized in-jokes they won't understand, it feeds into the misinformation loop. Can you imagine if I went around telling everyone that Charon was Vergil's daughter when in reality he treats her as "something of a daughter" according to the publicly editable and horrible "fandom wiki" which is the only place that I could find information about it.

This isn't the same thing as say a biological daughter, or even an adoptive one. Which could be an interesting plot dynamic. I mean do you guys remember what happened last time a Color Fixer had a kid? Or rather I should say, last time a Color Fixer WAS GOING to have a kid? That was kind of a big deal. It's not really a shocker to learn that the guy who really likes orphans would be nice to the child.

anyways sorry for the lengthy explanation of "this isn't really what I'm looking for" but I've literally spoke on this whole "fandomization of characters bothers me a lot" topic before several times for literally this exact reason.

Some Author's Commentary on A Fishing Rod in Hand is Worth 2 in System Memory

This was in my drafts for two years when I finally posted chapter 6 of A Fishing Rod in Hand is Worth 2 in System Memory, and since it ain't gettin' any younger, might as well post it.

I have thoughts about chapter 6 of my System Memory fic and figured to just put them in a post.

I'm so happy I got to the part where I traumatize Twilight. The best part about basing the Links not just on their games, but on a specific speedrun is that I get to write angst unique to that particular run. The story is supposed to be a mix of humor and angst, and I got the humor down if the feedback is any indication, so it was nice to turn up the angst.

This section was really helped by the fact I had access to an actual copy of Twilight Princess to explore the world and find things, like that the postman hangs out in the goat barn in Ordon. (Which sucks because that's not going to be the case for most of the other eras.)

I've played at least a little of one game for each Link except Four, and I think he suffers because of it. I have basic mechanics knowledge from first hand experience for everyone but him. All the glitches come from research and I have to research games I've never played or finished, but for him everything has to be researched.

I remember seeing a post that complained that Hyrule was rarely being given opportunities in fics to be badass or something along those line. So I thought, "okay, I'll give Hyrule an ability so overpowered that most of the other Links can't handle it."

It's been a while since chapter 6 was posted, hasn't it?

I'm very satisfied with finally completing the second arc of System Memory, where I tortured Wind after torturing Twilight (emotionally). The arcs followed a similar progression, though I only noticed it in the middle of writing. Both went hometown → Zelda → Gerudo settlement → dungeon → portal. Both also had a battle where Hyrule was a total badass using an overpowered quirk of his games' controls. The 3rd era will probably not follow this progression (but Hyrule will still be a badass).

At first, the hardest part of that arc was the conversation between Grandma and Wind. I literally wrote the entire chapter with the Savage Labyrinth because I was avoiding that conversation just as much as Wind was.

But once it was done, the hardest part was definitely the naval battle. Which isn't good from a writing perspective because the navel battle was 1.5 chapters long.

From writing those chapters, I've found that the thing that really gets me in a writing mood is being a passenger on a plane or a long car ride with no internet and only my laptop with an open fic document for company. After 2 five hour car rides, the arc was "done" and I started updating it again.

Another thing that helps is having research notes from the actual game. They were very helpful for getting a sense for the Forsaken Fortress and Wind Temple layout, the sunrise scene, and visualizing where the pirate ship was supposed to do in relation to the islands.

(For the 3rd arc/era, I fortunately own a game set in that era for easy reference.)

...But having a first draft with all the necessary scenes present doesn't mean it's done, now does it? So, the battles in particular had lots of revisions because the story beats were happening too quickly and it was just too barebones.

I never meant for the time between chapter 6 and 7 to be as long as it did. I was kind of in denial about hiatus for a while, thinking "I'm only a month at most away from posting chapter 7!" for a lot of 2021 and 2022.

What basically happened was that I didn't want to post a chapter before the next chapter is fully written with all the necessary scenes. This is because I figured I wouldn't have anymore major edits to make to a chapter once the one after it is complete. But then chapter 8 was split into 8 and 9, and posting 7 without finishing 9 would be cheating, and then 10, 11, and 12 still needed to be written...

And that simple rule ballooned into a requirement that chapter 7 can only be posted once the entire arc has a complete draft.

(Arc 3 will probably follow the same rule, so there's aren't long waits between chapters in the same arc. Chapters between arcs is another story.)

I don't think this arc would've turned out the way it did if I hadn't taken that hiatus. For one, back when I finished chapter 6 I hadn't started reading Moby Dick, which definitely influenced Wind's narration. (I searched up crossovers between Moby Dick and Wind Waker and found nothing. Kinda disappointing.)

The chapters of the second arc are shorter than the first. I had felt the chapters were getting too long and wanted to cut them up (chapter 8 and 9 used to be the same chapter), but they all ballooned to be longer than I had initially expected. I guess that's just how it is.

All the comments on each chapter are very appreciated, even if I don't reply to them. They do a lot to boost my motivation to overcome writer's block. For those who commented, thank you.

Backlog: Talking About Indie Games - Flynn: Son of Crimson

Originally I posted this somewhere else early 2022, but I'm trying to consolidate right now.

So Flynn: Son of Crimson was a game I wishlisted on Steam a while back. Could not tell you where I heard of it. Even when I originally wrote this, it was in my wishlist for a while. Turns out, it was also on Game Pass at the time. I reached the 101% achievement in the game. I think overall, the game is good. You can probably get 5 hours out of it in one sitting, but I was taking my time.

In general, the music is calming. You're not gonna see rock songs here. But it gets intense when it needs to. Someone may argue the art is similar to a lot of other indie titles, but idk what to say. The backgrounds are well detailed, the animations are great.

The enemies have unique attacks and more often than not, have more than one attack for variety. I will say the electric ones were kinda annoying, especially the bees in that cave level where you have to platform just right to avoid electric fish. Like, calm down.

The combat system gives you a decent amount of freedom off the bat. Flynn feels good to control. The dodge roll is great. Only thing that held me back was my own impatience. What do I mean? Well I went the whole story without really uppercutting or down smashing anything. Really only ended up doing those to complete the in-game achievements. Would those attacks have helped my playthrough be somewhat smoother? Possibly a little, but not anything crazy.

The game gives you a lot to fight with in hindsight. However, this is also one of those games where backtracking with all the upgrades is kinda pointless. You only go back to get missing relics that are accessible without most upgrades.

Hero Mode's a thing. That wasn't on the Game Pass version though so i couldn't judge that when I wrote this. Maybe in the future I'll look into it.

Getting all the relics isn't exactly worth it. It really seems to exist for the people to casually find every now and then while messing around in the game. I fall into this category. But I just wasn't interested because there are places in the game you'd THINK would have secrets in them and just...don't. Kinda lessens the impulse to collect everything. Maybe that was intentional from the devs, but who knows? To me though, it just makes certain areas feel like ther could've been less empty space.

I don't want to be one of those people talking about "ThE sToRy dOeSn'T mAtTeR" because this has more going on than some games. I would say the story is told as much in the levels as it is in dialogue. It gives the setting some depth. The Scourge idea with everything on lockdown is great.

As a story though, it's pretty straight forward more or less. I think there were missed opportunities.

Examples:

The NPCs don't say anything new as the story goes on.

There probably could've been a Scourge event n the town Flynn starts in. Full circle and all that.

Flynn clearly has friends his age. They probably never experienced the war people talk about. Perhaps the kids have something to say, yet nothing's said.

Plus, just the overall idea that Flynn is literally more god mode than the literal goddess for no reason. But I wouldn't know how to write around that. So it's hard to judge.

Smaller issues are just what features get screen time. The glider's cool, and it was only there for half a level. The Dex segments happen perhaps a little too late in the game. The backtracking thing feels extra weird when you're never allowed to destroy vine spikes or destroy ice with your fire blasts. Aside from that last point, it's the little things like that could've improved the game if tweaked or given a little bit more time to cook.

But beyond that, it hits all the points it needs to. There's a decent amount packed in here. It even has enemy gauntlet areas. Do I think it's worth buying? Yes. Especially at a sale. The game got good reviews. I don't entirely know if I'd give it the same score that ended up on Metacritic, but I see that for an indie game, for the amount of time you spend on this, the quality, amount of content, and price, I understand. I think it is a very solid game.

12. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about.

I'm always terrified to write for a new fandom, but I've been circling around BG3 cautiously for the last month or so. I'm still really nailing down a lot of aspects of my Tav (Kitrye), I'm still working on getting the lore and the setting pinned down, but I have been writing, and I'm excited to get to work with it. I honestly don't know what I'm doing, I don't know if it'll be publishable, I don't know if it's going to form anything resembling a plot, but it's in progress.

16. Any guilty pleasure trope(s)?

Omegaverse (When it's done just to my tastes, which is rare.)

25. Have you ever daydreamed about side adventures/spin-offs from your fic? Tell us about them!

All the time, honestly. I'm very much the kind of writer who's always imagining a broader universe/context for these things, especially since I often don't have the patience for really long WIPS. I usually have some thought in the back of my head of how things go afterwards, or how other characters are feeling. Some examples:

Fowl Play

Solène gets visited by the Soulmate Goose of Enforcement, has to travel to Paris to ask Lazare for help. We see the goose is STILL wearing the blue coat that Lazare gave it. More goose related shenanigans.

Artois gets visited by the goose (Lazare gets in some hot water because MONSIEUR DE PEYROL WHY IS THIS GOOSE WEARING YOUR COAT?) People are surprised because it's evidence that Artois has a soul in the first place.

MA Crossover fic where Orléans is visited by the Goose just after the beginning of the musical -- he has to plot a successful coup, woo Margrid, who is pissed at him for very understandable reasons, AND bat off a goose.

Elisabeth das Musical crossover where it turns out that Der Tod is also vulnerable to the Goose, which chases him around throughout all the different planes of the afterlife. (The Goose is literally the single most powerful character I've written and it kills me that people have only seen a sliver of its power.)

Les Rois du Monde

(1) Loosely set in the same universe, where Lord Capulet and Lady Capulet have to reconcile after the death of Juliet, really delving into their relationship and all the ways it failed over the years, with them slowly piecing together something resembling a genuine relationship after years of being together in a working relationship marked with disdain.

(2) A sequel (a couple of years later, opening with the statues of Romeo and Juliet finally being unveiled) that deals with Verona needing to gain fishing access to one of the other city states, the Montagues reaching out to one of their allies in another city, and the access being granted to Verona...under the condition that Benvolio marries the family's daughter, which, since he HAS learned from Escalus, he agrees to do. It's a mixed thing for Escalus where it's like...Benvolio is doing exactly what he advised him to do, sacrificing for the good of the city, but Escalus is also having to sign away the love of his life. (We might or might not be meeting Escalus' Girlboss ex who has a family.)

Back on the Shore

This was one of my first and most ambitious fic projects and, since it got parred down to a single one-shot that wasn't more than 4k words, there's a lot of unfinished business with it that I'm not sure will ever get resolved.

(1) A pre-relationship fic that featured Gráinne, Tiernan, and Donal visiting Fionnuala Ó Flaherty, Donal's cousin -- the murder of Walter Fada Bourke, at Fionnuala's insistence, with a very tense, nervous night spent as Gráinne, Tiernan, and Donal have to survive until the morning.

(2) The actual getting together fic, after Dubhdara's death -- Gráinne being visibly distraught, to the point where Donal and Tiernan put aside their issues in order to comfort her.

(3) Tiernan being caught, Donal trying to rescue him, with Gráinne having to rescue both of them, featuring the historical meeting with Elizabeth I. Guest starring Bingham, the adorable English lapdog given to Gráinne by Elizabeth I.

Now Red, I gotta ask what the structuring work for this past arc was like. Like we know your main process is thinking through the arc in front of you then boarding in big batches and refining dialogue once you've done most of the art, but with all the moving parts and things to keep track of that you put in this Long Ass Section, I'm curious how you placed everything in your own head and what the process means for how you'll do your plot shuffling and arc structuring and such going foward?

Haaa jeez. Well, to start off, by the time I was beginning to board this section I had a few major beats I knew I was going to hit:

Zuurith sticks Kendal in jail (a comparatively late addition to the plot)

The gang witness a gladiator match

Erin accesses the Paladin archives and learns helpful information

Dainix is introduced

Tahraim and Caliban do their sneaky sneaky scheming

Falst and Alinua have a solo adventure sneaking out at night (the context for this adventure changed when I decided Kendal was going to be imprisoned)

Tess shows up (a comparatively late addition)

Dainix's crucible nature becomes an Issue during a gladiator match (the fact that he'd be fighting Kendal at the time was also a comparatively late addition)

Tynan attacks the city (believe it or not, there was a version of this arc where Tynan was not part of it)

SPOILERS

In the original rough timeline I had them spending a few days in Zuurith, but I quickly realized a problem with that. With Kendal on the shelf and only Erin given any actual goals in the city, I was leaving the rest of the gang with nothing to do. Also, when I started boarding the dialogue, it occurred to me that Erin, despite his dedication and Cold Logic, would not be willing to leave Kendal in the mountain for more than a day, tops.

So that shrank the window I had to fill with shenanigans before Tynan showed up and all hell broke loose. Erin could spend it at the archive, Kendal could bond with Dainix before the big fight, and Falst and Alinua… had nothing to do.

And I could've left it at that and had them play Go Fish in the hotel room all day, but that felt like a wasted opportunity. If I put Falst in a notably hostile and unjust city and then just… left him alone, that risked turning the in-universe established fact of people being casually shitty to ferin into a tell-don't-show thing. The last thing I wanted was for it to seem like Falst was being oversensitive, that things weren't that bad or that he could've been hanging out in cities this whole time. Falst will always, always underplay the pain he's in. It was very important that I not shy away from showing the gross, bad side of his experience, because doing so could risk producing the opposite effect.

So originally Tess being chased by the guards was a total non-issue. They're barely a step up from faceless goons. But by shrinking the window and deciding to put some pressure on Falst, that gave me the idea of letting Tess encounter Falst along the way and increasing the heat on both of them. Originally I had Tess running around largely unattached, and since Erin was gonna be tucked up in the paladin archive the whole time, it was possible she literally wouldn't find him until the Tynan counter hit zero. That also felt like a wasted opportunity, but not a huge loss in the long run, so I wasn't playing with that just yet.

Getting Tess to meet them was easy. I'd always planned to have Falst try to break into the prison, although the addition of the minor skirmish between him and Alinua was a late-game concept I'm glad I could make work. In the very earliest concept for that sub-adventure, Kendal wasn't in prison, but Dainix was, and having seen him in a gladiator match earlier that day (a concept I quickly realized didn't work as planned because there was genuinely no way I could justify some of these good-hearted paragons sitting around watching something like that, and no amount of crankiness or surreptitious magical intervention to help out the underdog would counterbalance that implied complicity) Falst would've run off to break him out or pop a bunch of locks off random doors or otherwise cause hero-flavored mischief. In the process of sneaking out he would run into Alinua, who had independently had a similar idea but more in line of "I could tell they weren't healing up that one guy enough and I thought I could help." Then when they dramatically metal gear'd their way through the prison they'd arrive to find Kendal had also had the same idea and was already hanging out with Dainix. It was a funny bit, but the further along the story went the less it made sense and the more problems it raised, so I scrapped it and just used the "falst and alinua solo prison-break adventure" bit. As a bonus, the way it played out let me sort of bring Alinua's powers back down to earth after the show of power she'd displayed in Falst's intro arc - I wanted to make it clear that, while an absolute powerhouse, she was very dependent on certain environmental conditions to let her cut loose, and being stuck in the city left her pretty seriously nerfed.

Looping in Tess at that point was easy, since I could have her pop up wherever and she had a reason to interrupt them if she thought they could lead her to Erin. Having Caliban scare them off so they didn't interrupt their schemin' was another easy addition that helped tie everything together. Boom, connection made.

So I'd gotten everything sorted. Erin would have his day in the archive, Kendal and Dainix would have their knife-twisting gladiator match, Falst and Alinua had had their solo adventure and established that the city was kinda hostile. Tynan could intervene during the gladiator match and the heroes could converge on his location for the big final boss fight.

But then I decided Falst hadn't suffered enough yet, which is pretty typical of me, to be honest. I'd established that the guard pursuit of Tess was escalating over the course of the day, since they didn't know what kind of threat she posed and she was totally uninterested in explaining herself to them. So I decided this city needed a contingency plan for when a criminal or other target was too badass for regular guards. After all, prisoners were the number one source of gladiators, and good gladiators were badass. How were they capturing all these heavy hitters if they weren't even able to slow down Tess?

I'd done some behind-the-scenes worldbuilding of the internal bureaucracy and corruption of the prison-gladiator arrangement, and the fact I'd concluded was that Zuurith only cared about the prison, but the Arenamaster's dedication to "keeping the people entertained" had justified in his mind a slow escalation of measures involved in finding strong gladiators and pressuring them into putting on a show. It made sense, therefore, that there would be people who were not Zuurith's guards that the Arenamaster coordinated with to arrange the capture of more complicated or powerful targets. And who better to do that than trained warriors who'd already proven themselves capable of besting a wide variety of opponents?

Shrike was never intended to be a huge threat. Ultimately she's nothing more than a very skilled fighter with a comparatively quite weak stone-magic ability. If Alinua could cut loose or Tess was willing to fight seriously, Shrike would not be a problem for very long. But I'd conveniently trapped my heroes in a complex net of social expectations and a sense of personal responsibility that would prevent them from fighting back to their full potential. Now I knew what Alinua and Falst were gonna be doing before Tynan showed up: being hunted for sport. Hooray!

Somewhere along the line I concluded that I didn't want to just leave them running around aimlessly until Tynan showed up, so the best way to resolve this situation was for Erin to intervene - pretty much the only party member who had enough social and political power to actually shut Shrike down. That meant cutting his stay in the Archive short, but that was actually a nice bit of characterization - he hadn't really been looking morally great in this arc so far, so giving him a moment of unconditionally selfless sacrifice to bail out his friends was a nice touch. It also got the gang more coordinated in one place for the upcoming Tynan bossfight.

And then when Tynan did show up, oopsies! I had to split the party again. See, I'd realized somewhere along the line that Alinua's personal arc in this storyline had to end with her cracking the mountain open. I'd planted it too well to not pay that off. It also let me demonstrate another limit on her potentially utterly busted powerset by showing that Life does not do whatever she wants her to. So that meant I had to peel off Falst and Alinua for another little solo adventure.

In my original plan, the gang saving the city was not a direct factor. When I started boarding it, it became clear that that had been a very dumb oversight on my part. Kendal would be focused on saving the city by defeating Tynan, but everyone else would want to save the city in a more practical way. Falst and Alinua were covered, but it took me a hot minute to figure out what Erin would do - and it was nice to give him a nonstandard show of power to really highlight how much of a swiss army knife his powerset is.

And then I had to loop in Dainix, and I had to resolve the Arenamaster thing because leaving him as a loose end after all the nastiness he pulled wouldn't be narratively satisfying even if his empire was crumbling around him, and I resolved those two considerations pretty efficiently.

And that was basically the hard part over. I was finally getting everyone all in one place to fight Tynan, and that was going to be totally simple except for SPOILER and the SPOILER bit. What could go wrong??

Feels a bit weird when I'm not a follower myself but haha. Your type of yanderes aren't what I'm really into, but I still periodically check on your blog like some ghost stuck to a place bc your writing is really really good and i absolutely adore how creative your ideas are. Speaking of which, i really love how you handled the matchups! They're still made for a certain person but so open that they're also accessible to everyone else, which isn't something I've ever seen before but definitely seems the best way to go about it.

I'll be honest, I would NEVER hang out with any of the yanderes I've written except for SPK!Childe & Thoma and HysHum!Dainsleif. I think the only "soft" yanderes I wrote are those three.

Childe just wanna fish & Thoma just wants to listen whenever the reader rants about their problems. Then there's Dainsleif, who's sane but is one chip away from losing his marbles because his reader is about to turn Teyvat upside down lmao.

I'm not sure if it's incredibly obvious in my writing but I'm asexual and quite possibly aro, so I think I "excel" more on the "yan" side than the "dere" since romance isn't my forte. I mainly write for the horror so I don't expect people to come to me because they're into the yanderes I've written but more on the story (... About the event: I was genuinely hoping for match-ups set up like this because there's some sort of "togetherness" in it?? Hold on I just woke up cuz I accidentally slept while reviewing for Algebra when writing this so I'll probably rewrite this draft or something if I'm not lazy lol. It's just that I like it when readers are characters I can add some quirks and details to (of course, cept for things like physical descriptions and what not) since it makes pairing them with a yandere more natural. And you know what? I'm super glad the anons are all very nice and interesting huhu. They truly make the event more alive!!!

I adore otome games and trust me, almost everyone in r/otome_games prefer an MC who has a personality rather than an eyeless self-insert too lol. Much like there's no such thing as "absolute justice", I believe you can't have a "perfect self-insert" fic either because not everyone shares the same mold. It's just not as entertaining to me when the reader is silent so I guess that reflects on my writing too ;;--;;. It's just too much fun pulling up an mbti and going "ah yes, I'm using this type."

Anyways, yeah!!! Is it bad if I'm satisfied about how I set it up as well haha it feels like my 1 braincell was actually put to use ;;----;;;

rubs hands together okay well I have a google doc to write for my friend but video games my beloved

currently enjoying genshin impact a lot because i have a soft spot for like open-world action rpg and it's like pretty similar to assassin's creed and god of war (on the rare occasions that I get to play it) but like it's also a gacha game and I can have fun figuring out pairing artifacts and stats and stuff (math, i hate math but in this context, i don't)

the controls are cool? not the controls, controls configuration, but im very glad I get to configure a lot of them to suit my level of comfort compared to like some other games I played before (roblox cough).

like the skill (genshin) is supposed to be E but i played cracked MC (still do, cackling) a lot. so in my head it's always stuck as E: inventory and Shift: sprint. so I configured that! and now I'm very happily using X as my skill, and R F C respectively, to switch to different characters ( and is also my inv slot 7 8 9 in MC ) that way I don't ever have to lift my middle finger from the W or stretch my fingers across the keyboard and my index finger does most of the work. I hate keybind configuration but at the same time it's very cool because you get to like, test out some, find which one suits you, see how compact you can make it just so it's quicker to access (my friends hate it when I talk about it but it's just very cool).

and games like stardew valley are so cool because like pixels? Pixels! very obvious pixels. and it's still amazing because the colours for like each season is beautiful and holy cow the like small tasks you gotta do? Repetitive, easy to understand, not too complicated: yes.

and like the fact you can date single people and marry and proceed to divorce all of them is hilarious.

and I absolutely love the fishing mechanic in stardew even though so many people hate it. compared to like mc where you just wait, bob, click yay. its like nice level of intense, and it holds my attention very well because I gotta focus on keeping the fish in the green bar within seconds no matter how high it flops.

and I can play it for hours, like the longest ive played stardew was for like 7-8 hours, it was amazing, literally such good vibes, like 3 AM morning, playing stardew in aircon room with music in earphones and the little action sounds from stardew that brings me plenty of serotonin. so great so great.

I’ve had many dreams i was able to remember these last days, but they were more like nightmares i’d say, many of them about being kidnaped, other studies-related (i failed my math test again, i had to retake my college-access test… just terrible), and other were with people i actually know, which wasn’t the best thing ever honestly

Plant life by owl city, i’m going to paste the answer i wrote to explain why it’s my favorite (Plant Life by Owl City, that song just describes my soul at a spiritual level, like I could choose 1564 other songs by Owl City that describe me as well but this one is the one that I can relate to when i’m going through the worst times, but also gives me the hope that things will get better idk. And it’s funny because I still loved it before I had the level of English to understand the lyrics, and then I found out what they meant and i was like “woah this actually speaks to me in a way i can’t explain” it was a really weird feeling idk, that song is just me)

Idk i’ve been thinking a lot about this lately basically because some of my coming decisions are going to be based on who i want as a partner, obviously not in a serious-for-life way, but in a way that i deserve right now. I’d like to have someone that doesn’t make me feel inadequate like almost everyone does, that doesn’t make me feel like a temporary asset in their life until they get want they want for me and just don’t care anymore. I don’t know, recent experiences have made me realise I need to figure out what I want and fight for it, not settle for someone just because it’s convenient, or because i don’t want to be alone... because in the end, if someone is making you feel like shit for being who you are and it’s acting like you are not important, even though they’re willing to be with you (even if it’s just for the physical part) that clearly makes you feel even more lonely

18. Do you want children? I’d say my #1 fear in life is getting accidentally pregnant (i know that shouldn’t worry me that much if i use protection and stuff), i meant a good reason i’m so wary of having sex is because i’d go crazy just considering the possibility that the condom failed or something. I think this answers the question, i really don’t want children, idk if i’d be able to take care of a kid, and above all, i don’t want to. Every time i see a kid in the street or in the public transport i pray he/she doesn’t interact with me because i just find it so so so difficult to be nice to them, basically because i don’t know how . Then i also look at their parents, their tired look, and don’t get me wrong, I’m sure they love their kids and all but I don’t think everyone can find happiness in having kids, and I don’t think I’m one of those people that won’t feel complete until they have kids or stuff. Furthermore, I’m not willing to sacrifice my body and to suffer the pain of giving birth, that doesn’t even cross my mind. So if I consider the possibility in the future i think I’d adopt.

20. Are you religious? I already answered this so I’ll just paste it I’m sorry this is so lazy (i was raised catholic and as a child i was really really devote, i truly believed in god. But you know, as years go by, then you find out you don’t agree with a lot of things the Church preaches (being in a catholic school doesn’t help, i will never forget the day i heard a priest telling literal 7-year-old girls that their only duty in life was to have children). My environment was really really conservative and I was lucky to somehow realise how fucking wrong some of the stuff they were teaching us was, sadly, i still see a lot of kids in my school being brainwashed… it’s crazy to see the way some families think. Anyways, that contributed to me getting distanced from everything religious-related. Now i could say i’m somewhere between agnostic and non-practicing. I still pray every once in a while but i’m not sure if i truly believe it or it’s just out of custom, i just feel too hopeless and detached from everything to believe there’s something greater than us… this question is too hard!)

24. Baths or showers? I used to hate taking showers just because I didn’t have the strength to go through all the process of taking a shower but I’ve been trying to fix this mainly because 1) Personal Hygiene and stuff 2) Even though i don’t have the willpower to do it, i always try to think about how nice it feels to be clean after a shower, or how relaxed you are (even if it’s for a short period of time) after taking a bath. So yeah I don’t like either of them but they’re obviously necessary

26. Have you ever been famous? I haven’t been famous but I’ve been mistaken for a famous people more than once. The first time i was very young and a man asked me if i was that girl (idk who) that was on tv and I said no, and the other was more recent, last year, when someone mistook me for a youtuber

28. What type of music do you like? I love instrumental music, specially orchestral but i also adore celtic themes. And i hate to admit it but i love electro pop, the owl city - type, even though many people (aka my dad) may think it’s not the Best Quality, but i mean who cares at least I enjoy it

33. What do you typically have for breakfast? I’m a mess so most of the time I have a coffee so I don’t die of tiredness throughout the day and if i have time i eat some fruit and cookies, not a lot honestly, which isn’t the most healthy thing to do but hey idc

But yeah, i’ve been complimented for my singing in some occasions, and i really enjoy doing it on my own (i still don’y know how i was able to sing in public the only time i have done it)

What makes you nervous? sadly, even the most insignificant stuff makes me nervous, and apparently, ignoring them doesn’t mae them disapear! so yeah i’m basically suffering at all times due to stupid stuff, i’ve just learned to ignore it enough so it doesn’t interfere with the rest of my life (most of the time it works but it’s mentally draining now that i think about it)

77. Have you ever drank underage? I’m one of those people that can say that never drank alcohol until it was legal for me to do it, I didn’t do it even when my mom offered me something at family gatherings… yeah i think that’s the reason i drink so much now

80. How many piercings do you have? I don’t like piercings for myself (i obviously don’t have a problem with other people having them) but i just think it’s an unnecessary way of mutilating yourself (i hate needles)

86. What are you allergic to? Ironically, I’m allergic to cats, even though i have 2. It comes and goes, and it’s not serious, i sneeze a lot, my eyes itch a little sometimes, but i’m willing to pay that price for my cats honestly

I do, but it’s been months since i last wrote mainly because i always feel like shit after writing, so now i can’t bring myself to do it, that’s why i post so much about my personal life in here, because i’m not able to journal but i also don’t want to forget about what happens in my life

90. What makes you angry? Anger is a weird concept for me. I get angry very often, but I’m angry in general, not at anyone in particular, I just find myself unable to get mad at someone, the anger instantaneously turns into sadness, so I don’t know what’s worse. If I’m being mean to someone (most of the time my parents are the victims) it’s not because of them, I’m just angry for no reason and I just can’t keep being nice.
