not a lot, just forever
summary: weddings were never logans thing. the sappy vows, hundreds of people watching two people profess their love for each other— so why was being at jean and scott’s wedding with you affecting him so much?
pairing: logan howlett x reader
word count: 1k
warnings: romcom themes, weddings, possibly ooc!logan
authors note: sooo this is my first fic! I have some plans for a much longer, chaptered fic but figured I should ease myself into this! please go easy on me! any tips or suggestions are welcomed. thank you if you read my loves ౨ৎ
logan had been here so long he began to question where he went wrong in his life to put him here. what primordial being he had wronged to place him where he was— sitting next to you, adjusting uncomfortably in a cheap folding chair. not only were his senses being ambushed, overwhelmed—the guests cheap perfumes, the soft classical music playing in the background, mixing with the chatter of excited guests— but being here with you, was triggering something inside of him. he wasn’t someone that enjoyed weddings. anyone who looked at him even for a fraction of a second could deduce that about him. too gruff, hardened, to enjoy such a sappy environment.
it was anxiety inducing, to say the least. he shifts in his seat, trying not to fidget too much as his eyes flick from you—sitting next to him, raving about how beautiful the venue was, how excited you were for your teammates— to his surroundings.
“not a wedding person, logan?”
you speak softly, eyes raking over his appearance as you note the way his brows pinch together a little more than usual—a telltale sign of what was going on in his mind. he shakes his head in response. “they should’ve just eloped. less hassle.” he mutters gruffly, earning a laugh from you. he feels you lean in, elbowing him gently. “be nice. it’s their big day, you know? a celebration of their love.” you exclaim, a warm grin adorning your plush lips. the sight nearly makes his heart leap out of his chest—yearning for its rightful owner, you. he huffs in response, arms crossed over his broad chest. he wants to stop talking about this, to think about anything other than this god forsaken wedding. at least when he got through the ceremony, there would be alcohol at the reception. you lean in once more, and he can smell your perfume. his breath hitches and he eyes you, hoping you didn’t catch it. “so, I’ll take it you don’t see yourself settling down, cowboy?” you inquire.
not unless it’s with you.
he doesn’t miss the way your eyes drift to his lips, and back up to his eyes, but he does brush it off as him seeing things; chalking it up to his old mind deteriorating. he scoffs, brow raising as he scans the room once more in a feeble attempt to avoid eye contact with you. “settle down? no. people like us rarely get to settle down, darlin’. you know that. wouldn’t want anyone to get tangled in my mess.” he remarks—his way of saying ‘I’m terrified to get close to anyone, for fear of them winding up kidnapped by enemies or worse; waking up with my claws in their stomach—your expression darkens at his words, lips pursed and nostrils flared.
you nod, a sheepish grin curving at your lips. “right, yeah. of course.” you chuckle. “people like us don’t get the chance at a life like that very often. all the more reason to be happy for these two.” you nod, gesturing to scott standing at the altar. “you’ll get it, too.” he grumbles, pulling at the tie on his neck. “any man would be lucky to have you. just a matter of finding the right person.” your eyes linger on him at the mention, before tearing away to gaze up at the altar again.
“well,” you start, sighing, “I don’t think that my person thinks that I’m their person. so I’m sort of at a standstill.” you admit, breathlessly. now you’ve got his attention.
he leans forward, palms on the top of his thighs. “oh? and who might this person be, doll? have you tried telling him how you feel?” he questions, trying—and failing—to come off as subtle. you grin, a small chuckle falling from your lips. “no, but only because I know better. why try when you know the answer, right? I mean.. I’ve tried, I suppose. dropped hints. but I’m beginning to question if he doesn’t realize, or if he doesn’t want to realize, you know?” you turn to him, confused on why he was suddenly so attentive; his anxiety from moments before gone. his brow raises, waiting for you to elaborate. his heart skips a beat as you lean in even closer, breath fanning across his face.
“well, my right person… he doesn’t let people in. not fully. he acts like it’s because he doesn’t care but… i think he’s scared. he wants to be loved so badly, and i can see it. he doesn’t want someone to get hurt because of him. not again.” you speak cautiously, looking at him. really looking at him.
his breath hitches in his throat as he meets your eyes. were you… talking about him? no way. he opens his mouth to speak, to counter, to confess, but he’s cut off by the wedding march beginning to play.
and he’s right back to cursing whatever god he could think of. he can’t help but grin, though, as he stands with all the other guests. his heart beats rapidly in his chest, filling it with warmth.
he turns to watch jean walk down the aisle, anticipating the end of the ceremony—wishing his mutation was to speed up time rather than his adamantium claws. for once, though, it wasn’t because he couldn’t wait to get this over with. to get to the fun part already—the part where he could drink. it was because he couldn’t wait to finally tell you how he felt. to face his fears.
maybe, for once, he didn’t mind weddings so much.
he just hoped the next one would be yours.

Hi! It's me again with one more Bakugo request, and I'll leave you alone after this. So, it's another childhood friends scenario, but they've stood close the whole time. Somewhere down the line, they began flirting and kinda acting like a couple, which makes it clear to everyone that they like each other. However, the truth reveals that they're already together when they get caught having a really cute moment together, like baking or him tickling her and kissing. Also, thank you for writing my other request - I loved it!
.𖥔 ݁ ˖ already yours .𖥔 ݁ ˖
☘︎ . . . genre. fluff
☘︎ . . . pairings. bakugou x reader
☘︎ . . . request? yes by @rocketblasterr
childhood best friend to lovers.
Growing up next door to Bakugou Katsuki meant a life of chaotic adventures, loud bickering, and unspoken understanding. From the moment you both could walk, your moms swore you were a package deal. “Wherever YN goes, Katsuki’s not far behind.” They weren’t wrong.
You were the quiet shadow to Katsuki’s blazing presence. While he demanded attention, you held your ground right beside him, undeterred by his explosive personality. He dragged you into his games, made you his partner in crime, and over time, you became the one person who could hold your own against him.
By high school, things were different but still the same. The constant teasing from your friends—“Just date already!”—was shrugged off without a thought. “We’re just friends,” you’d say. Katsuki would grumble something similar, though his scowl was always a little darker when people brought it up.
But they weren’t wrong, not entirely. The shift between you two happened so naturally that neither of you could pinpoint the exact moment you became more than friends. Maybe it was that time you pulled him into a hug after he beat Todoroki at the Sports Festival. Or the late nights you spent studying at his place when he’d fall asleep sitting next to you, head lolling onto your shoulder. Or maybe it was the day he realized he didn’t just want to see you smiling—he wanted to be the reason you smiled.
Either way, it happened, and months ago, Katsuki finally admitted it. “Oi. I like you, dumbass. Don’t make me say it twice.” You hadn’t made him, not when your response was a breathless “Me too.”
The two of you didn’t make a big deal out of it. You were already so comfortable with each other that dating felt like a natural extension of what you had. There was no awkward phase, no dramatic confessions—just you and Katsuki, the same as always. Only now he held your hand sometimes, kissed you when no one was looking, and let his rough exterior soften just for you.
But you hadn’t told anyone. Why would you? It felt like yours, a quiet truth you didn’t need to announce. Besides, you were both sure people would overreact—because, of course, they would.
That’s how you found yourselves on a lazy Sunday afternoon, baking cookies in Katsuki’s kitchen. Well, you were baking, while Katsuki stood beside you, arms crossed and scowling like he was judging you on “Worst Cooks in Japan.”
“Your batter looks like shit,” he said flatly.
You huffed, rolling your eyes as you carefully spooned dough onto a tray. “Do you ever say anything nice? I’m doing just fine.”
“Tch.” Katsuki leaned in over your shoulder, his voice a low rumble near your ear. “You’re supposed to flatten it so it bakes even, dumbass.”
You turned to glare at him, only to realize how close he’d gotten. He was right there, head tilted slightly, crimson eyes watching you with that unreadable look he sometimes gave when he thought you weren’t paying attention. Your heart skipped.
“Then you do it, chef boy,” you shot back, pretending your face wasn’t heating up.
Katsuki smirked at your challenge. “Fine.” Without warning, he reached for the dough… and smeared a streak of flour across your cheek.
You gasped. “KATSUKI!”
A devilish grin tugged at his lips. “What? I’m helping.”
“Oh, you’re so dead,” you growled, grabbing a handful of flour.
What followed was chaos. Katsuki dodged every handful of flour you tried to fling at him, laughing in that rough, carefree way that made your chest tighten. “You call that an attack?” he taunted, wiping his hands on a dish towel like he was untouchable.
You narrowed your eyes. “Oh, you think you’re funny?”
You charged at him, aiming for the flour canister, but Katsuki was too quick. He grabbed you around the waist, pulling you into his arms with ease. You squirmed, kicking lightly as you laughed. “Let go, you big jerk!”
Katsuki didn’t. Instead, he grinned down at you, his hold loosening just enough for you to look up at him. The laughter died down, leaving just the two of you in the silence of the kitchen, breathing slightly uneven. Katsuki’s hands stayed firm at your waist, his thumb brushing gently against your side. His red eyes softened, searching your face like he was memorizing every detail.
For a moment, the world outside his kitchen didn’t exist.
Then he leaned down and kissed you.
It wasn’t your first kiss, but it still made your stomach flip in that way only Katsuki could manage. His lips were firm but careful, like he was trying to tell you something he couldn’t say out loud. You melted into him, hands curling into the fabric of his shirt.
Unfortunately, your bliss was short-lived.
“BAKUGOU! We’re—WAIT, WHAT?!”
You jolted away from Katsuki, turning to see Kirishima and Mina standing in the doorway, mouths hanging open. Mina’s squeal was ear-splitting. “I knew it!” she shouted, practically vibrating with excitement.
Kirishima grinned like he’d just discovered the meaning of life. “Oh, man! I told you two were acting different!”
Katsuki groaned, scrubbing a hand through his hair. “What the hell are you idiots doing in my house?”
“We came to get you for training, but this is way better!” Mina said, grabbing Kirishima’s arm. “You two—oh my god, you’re actually dating!”
You buried your face in your hands. “This is so embarrassing…”
“Don’t hide,” Mina teased. “You guys are adorable!”
“Shut it,” Katsuki barked, though his ears were flaming red.
Kirishima nudged him with a grin. “Don’t worry, Bakugou, you’re still the toughest guy we know. Just… softer when YN’s around.”
“OUT.” Katsuki pointed toward the door, glowering as Mina and Kirishima laughed their way out of the house.
When they were gone, you glanced at Katsuki, biting your lip to hold back a smile. “Well, the secret’s out.”
Katsuki sighed, rolling his eyes before pulling you into his arms again. “Tch. About time, I guess.”
“You’re not mad?”
He smirked, pressing a kiss to your temple. “Why would I be? I don’t care who knows. Long as you’re mine.”
Your heart fluttered at his words. “I’ve always been yours, Katsuki.”
His grip tightened slightly, and for once, Katsuki didn’t have a sharp reply. Instead, he held you closer, the scent of flour and vanilla filling the air around you.
And when Mina texted later with a million questions and teasing emojis, neither of you bothered to reply.

wooyoung hard thought
pairing: pottery teacher!wooyoung x f!reader
warnings: smut | mdni
a/n: this was supposed to be a quick one of my thoughts but it turned into a full hard thought 😭 but my inspo were these pictures 😫
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
you sign up for some pottery lessons at your local ceramic studio. you don’t have too high of expectations, only wanting to pick up a new hobby. but when you show up for the lesson your blown away at the man who’s sitting in front of the small group of you.
he starts the first class and you find yourself getting distracted by how attractive he is. and theres a moment where he’s eyeing you, causing you to apply too much pressure on the spinning clay and decentre it. he doesn’t even think twice before he’s up to help you. he gives you some pointers and makes light convo.
at the end of the class, people are making their way out the studio. while you pack up your stuff. you thank him once again for helping you. there’s a moment where he’s just staring at you, trying to read you.
“i have a few private lessons open if you’d be down to sometime this week.”
and thats how for the next couple of weeks, you find yourself back at the same studio but alone and no one else showing up.
each private lesson the tension grows thick. the both of you know that at one point something is going to happen it’s only a matter of time.
and when the day happens it’s after a month or two when woo finally gets the courage to ask you on a date. the night is magical and you feel yourself really liking him. at the end of the night he takes you back home. you find yourself inviting him in cause you don’t want him to leave just yet, it’s not too late anyway.
it’s not long before your lips are pressed to his, his hand caressing your cheek. the kiss deepens and you know your in for a long night.
clothes are pulled off, hands roaming each others bodies. his hands are firm yet soft as they move against your skin. he pushes you back onto the couch. pulls your legs on his shoulders. a slow lick to your clit has your eyes fluttering shut, he hums at your reaction.
the way he eats you is slow like he’s savouring your taste. you’re so close to coming before he pulls away. you let out a soft protest.
“i know baby, but i can make you feel so much better with my dick.”
and he showed you that his cock indeed could make you feel much better.
i give full permission for writers to use my hard thoughts as inspiration to write (with credit ofc)

Do I know you? Part 5
Jason Todd x reader
Synopsis: You meet Tim and Steph, Jason is not happy about it.
Notes: Some drama is finally here brought to you by Tim and Steph. This is the power of embarrassing a sibling.
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
The past week had been… odd. And that was putting it nicely. True to his word, the next evening was filled with Red Hood replacing your window locks with newer fancy ones attached to an “Out of date” alarm system (his words not yours). He showed you how to set it up and how to attach it to your phone, so if anyone got in while you were away you would know. It seemed a bit excessive to you, living on the sixth floor and all but he was adamant about it, so you let him. He told you if you wanted him to come in and share tea you would have to leave the window unlocked for a frame of time. If he didn’t show in that frame of time, you were to lock the window anyway.
“No later, understand?” He had ordered gruffly, and you had just shrugged. You’re pretty sure he rolled his eyes in response, but you couldn’t see them. In the days following he showed up every day even if it were just for a couple minutes. Sometimes you shared food, sometimes just tea. If he stayed for longer than a few minutes, you would sit amicably at the dining table or at the island. Sometimes in comfortable silence and sometimes conversing about your days, mostly you than him. You finally settled into a routine. After his visit, you would get ready for bed and repeat the day over.
Work at Jackie’s was booming. With the fall season in full swing, people came in requesting pumpkin this and pumpkin that, only to be disappointed to find out Jackies only had one pumpkin item and that was pumpkin bread. It was a blast. You kept up with the regulars and Darla would edge her way around you, collecting gossip. Over the next week and a half, she would sporadically bother you about if you had gotten Jason’s number or if you had fallen in with some other guy. She said she saw some of the signs of a guy but wasn’t too sure. When you asked what she meant she didn’t offer you any explanation.
It was a Thursday when you met Steph. When she came in, you mentally prepared yourself for another no-pumpkin showdown. You try not to judge a book by its cover, but her blonde hair and purple athleisure made it hard not to.
“Hi, Welcome to Jackie’s. What can I get for you?” your lips twitch into a customer service smile. She grins at you like this was the most excitement she had had all day.
“Hi, I’m Steph. How are you?” she asks politely.
“I’m good. What can I get for you?” she sags slightly at your shutdown of the conversation. Overly friendly new customers in Gotham were never good. They usually wanted something.
“Right,” she perks back up, “One hot chocolate and one black coffee.” She pauses for a moment while you put in the system. When you look back up, she asks “Do you know Jason?”
The sudden question slightly takes you aback and don’t answer, so she continues.
“He's about this tall,” she holds her hand in the air, “black hair, looks like he could punch a brick wall.” You nod slowly and she smiles, “Great, where does he usually sit?”
You point to the table nook he usually hides in, and she nods, “We’ll sit there. I heard that you bring the drinks out?” You nod again, still confused about this girl. No Pumpkin spice latte, and she knows Jason? Strange.
“How much do I owe you?” you finally snap out of your stupor. She pays, you thank her and tell her it will be out momentarily. She turns and greets a lean boy as he walks through the door. She tugs him to the booth quickly and they talk to each other in hushed tones, both glancing up at you occasionally. You try to ignore them as you stumble through making the two easiest items on the menu.
You glance up when the bell dings and a smile flits across your lips when you see Jason before it turns into a frown as he frowns. His eyes staring at his now occupied table. You pause in your task and come up to the register as he takes a few slow steps towards it.
“You okay?” you ask as you glance at the two at the table. They’re looking at Jason like they’ve won the lottery.
“Did they talk to you?” He ignores your own question.
“She did. Only to order though. Do I need to call the cops?”
Jason snorts at the question, “Yeah that’ll go well. She just ordered? She didn’t ask you anything?”
You give him a strange look. What is with people and odd questions today?
“She just asked where you sit. Sorry, I gave you away.”
He breaks his glare from them and meets your eye with a softness.
“It’s okay, Sweetheart. They would’ve figured it out even if you hadn’t given it to them.” Your heart flutters at the pet name. He had called you that the few times you had seen him since your walk home and it was starting to get to you.
“You want me to dump out their drinks and just make yours?” you ask as you try to force your focus away from the warmth on your cheeks.
“And ruin your hard work?” his eyes stare into your own and he finally breaks it when you hear giggles from your spies. You drop your chin down. “It’s okay,” he repeats, “I’ll sit with them.” He nods at you and heads for the table. The two sat there leaning together and whispering. You wonder who they are and how Jason knows them.
You get to work make the drinks, no longer stumbling, and with bounce your step. Darla stands next to you with a smug smile and makes some refills for customers.
“You could have asked for his number when he was alone but now there are people. Your poor self won't ever be able to do it.” She says teasingly.
“Thank you, Darla,” you say with an eye roll as you load the drinks on the tray. You take your time to meander to the table as Jason looks like he's berating the two that sit across from him. It doesn’t look like it's working as they both sit there with smug grins. You set the tray on the table and all eyes are on you. You keep your own eyes down as you move the drinks from the tray to the table. Your eyes try to catch Jason’s book for the day because you know you won't be asking like you normally do. You pull the tray from the table and rest it between your side and your arm.
“Anything else I can get you?” you glance at the two but meet Jason's eye. He looks flushed, possibly upset. Steph speaks up.
“No that’s okay. What was your name again?” she says like you had already told her. You break eye contact with Jason and look at her. She’s smiling and you can't find any malice in it, so you tell her. She nods like she already knows and points to the boy sitting next to her.
“This is Tim,” she points to Jason, “and obviously you already know Jason.” You hear a quiet thud from under the table and Tim flinches but smirks as he looks at Jason.
“You missed,” he turns to look up at you, “It's nice to meet you fin-” he cuts himself off and you wonder what the last word was.
You nod politely, “you too,” you say and look at Jason again for some explanation and a defeated look crosses his features as he shrugs.
“Brother” is all Jason gives, and you nod in semi-understanding. Based on the few mentions of family in passing conversations, you had always guessed he had a tense relationship with them.
“I didn’t know you had siblings.” You look back at the two. Tim and Jason could definitely be brothers. Aside from their stature and slight skin tone difference, everything else is similar. Black hair, blue eyes. Though you would argue that Jason’s were prettier because they were green sometimes. Not that it mattered. Your eyes meet Stephs again. Blonde hair, green eyes, bright smile. Very different looking than the two boys.
“Are you the only girl in the family?”
Steph makes a gagging sound, “I’m not family, Thank God!” Tim snorts at her over dramatics.
“I’m sorry.” Your face flushes slightly as you flounder, “Then what…?” Your hand gestures to them all sitting at the table.
Jason's eyes narrow on your embarrassed state.
“Don’t worry, she’s just a leech.”
“Hey!”
“Would you mind getting me one of those chocolate croissants?”
You shift on your feet with a look of confusion. He never asks for anything else. You nod, “Sure, anything else for the table?”
Tim looks like he’s about to ask for something, but Jason cuts him off with a glare. Instead, he shakes his head no. You hesitantly step away from the table but take your time going back to the kitchen to pull out one of the chocolate croissants and warm it up. Your eyes periodically glance back at the table. They crouch over the table and talk to each other. You worry for a moment that they’re talking about you and then decide that it doesn’t really matter. You had only met Tim and Steph today. Their opinion of you was worthless and You knew Jason wasn’t one for gossiping about others. You’ve watched Darla try and fail. Once you finally make it back over to the table with the croissant, Tim and Steph are gone leaving their half-full drinks on the table.
As you set the plate on the table you ask, “Scare them off?”
Jason lets out a sigh.
“If only. I’m sorry if they made you uncomfortable.” You shake your head in response.
“I'm sorry I made assumptions before I had all the information. I hope I didn’t offend.”
“I doubt you could ever offend anyone sweetheart” Your cheeks warm again.
“That’s not true I work in a public job, and I offend people all the time just standing” you joke. Jason smiles and nods.
“That’s fair. How could you be so lazy?” he teases. You giggle.
“Speaking of lazy, I should get back to work.” You point a thumb over your shoulder where a man leaves a table full of dishes.
“What time do you get off?” he asks. Your body freezes mid-turn at his abrupt question.
“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to” he adds on, “I just enjoyed walking with you the other day and I parked my bike around the same area again, so I thought maybe…” He trails off his own cheeks flushing. Your body relaxes as you look at your watch to think. He had convenient timing; you were off soon. It was nice having someone to walk with and it wouldn’t hurt to see him on his bike again. You nod with warmed cheeks.
“I get off in about thirty minutes if you don’t mind waiting?” you say as your eyes meet his. He nods, smiling.
“It’ll give me time to read.” He lifts his book that was sitting on the table, the cover reading Pride and Prejudice.
“Again?” You can't help but ask. He looks at the book cover and rolls his eyes.
“You really want to have this conversation again?” you shake your head quickly at his question.
“I'll see you in thirty minutes.” With that, you walk away from him and throw yourself into your finishing tasks.
Additional notes: This was originally a much longer chapter but I decided to split it up. So, the next chapter is about them walking home. I have to tell you I cannot wait for ya’ll to read the next one cause I got carried away for like three seconds and had to do some backtracking. The plot was happening where I didn’t want it. I loved having Tim and Steph involved in this and just not being subtle about anything. Jason may have tried to kill Tim once but that won't stop him from being a little shit. Thank you for your love guys. This has been such an interesting experience, so the support has been lovely. Hole-in-One | JJK pt. 3
Pairings: Jungkook x Reader
High society, richie rich setting
Warnings: Oral (m/f), fingering, car sex, superstitions, tiny bit of jealous Jk, mostly Simp JK, unprotected sex, just sex.
A/N: felt inspired by JK’s recent live so here we are. Enjoy
+++++++
“If I make this hole-in-one, let’s go to the charity ball together as a couple.” Jungkook smirks and hits the ball. He was confident that he doesn’t even look when the ball goes in so smoothly.
You on the other hand are smiling like an idiot.
Its been a month since you and Jungkook started dating but you’ve been doing it lowkey. With the finals over and graduation is just around the corner, he wants to publicly announce your relationship by going to your parents’ charity ball together. For the entire society to see.
Jungkook approaches you and bends over to peck your lips. You were about to speak when a cough interrupts your moment.
“So this is why you don’t ask me to play golf anymore.” Namjoon stood behind you two and frowns. “Auntie told me you and Jungkook would be here.”
“Okay, and?” You raise your eyebrows. His eye flicker between you and Jungkook standing very close to each other.
“What are you doing with my friend?” He finally asks and Jungkook drapes an arm around your shoulders.
“We’re dating.” You answer simply and Jungkook’s chest swells with pride. “What do you want, Joonie?”
“Jungkook, need a favor.” You groan and turn away, taking Jungkook with you.
“Aha. My days as your wingman are over, Joonie.” He teases him with the nickname. “I’m like your cousin now.” His words make you blush.
“Come on. You’re like the best wingman ever.” Namjoon groans. “There’s this girl who DJs at this club. You know people there, just give me an opening.”
“And I told you, I can’t. Plus, me and YN are going shopping tonight.” He shrugs. Namjoon groans in frustration.
You take pity in your cousin who is single as a pringle.
“You can go.” You look up at Jungkook. “It would be fun.”
“Nah. I hate clubs, the only clubs I want are these.” He hugs his brand new golf clubs that he bought yesterday. “Plus, I got a hole-in-one. Don’t I get my reward?”
“I thought your reward was the charity ball?” He groans. “Okay.” You tease.
“Ugh. I hate you two. Come onnnnnn.” You forgot Namjoon was still there. “You can tag along YN.” You contemplate.
“Damn. She must be really hot for you to let me join.” You turn back around to face him. “I guess we can go after shopping.” You look up at Jungkook.
“Fine.” He pouts.
“Would you be angry if I just drove around the block then back to the club house because I’m sure Henry or whatever can spare me a room?” Jungkook as his eyes glued to your legs. “Baby, you’re a sin.” His eyes finally met yours.
After shopping you both took an hour to prepare to get Namjoon a girlfriend. Or you hope its going to be a girlfriend.
You picked out a cute silver dress that’s too short for Jungkook’s sanity.
“If yoy’re the best wingman the way Namjoon says you are. We can be back at the club in an hour.” You trail your finger along his jaw before giving him a soft kiss.
He groans as you step away, he opens the door for you and you both drive towards the heart of the concrete jungle.
Namjoon had already chosen a VIP table near the DJ booth. His eyes light up as soon as he spots Jungkook approach with you right next to him.
“Ugh. You guys look good. Its annoying.” He rolls his eyes but hands you two an amorito sour.
“Okay, you ready?” Jungkook drinks half his cocktail and stands up.
“What? No! Its too soon!” Jungkook sits back down and pouts. “Do you have a next appointment or something?”
“No.” He continues to pout and you giggle at his cuteness.
“Relax.” You place a hand on his shoulder and squeeze. “Let’s have some fun.”
A tray of shots gets served at your table and you’re just as shocked as Jungkook. But hey, you haven’t been out for a while.
The three of you took shots like actual college students. Jungkook’s hand sitting tightly in between your knees.
“Jungkook. Go time.” Namjoon nods, you both look up at the DJ booth where they switch and the female Dj exits towards you.
“Whatever you’re gonna see. Its all for show.” Jungkook whispers before grabbing a shot glass and walks down crossing her and accidentally spilling the shot over her arm.
He doesn’t apologize, instead he just walks away and you can see the dj mumble ‘asshole’ just then Namjoon approaches with a handful of tissues and strikes up a conversation with her. In a couple of minutes you feel someone sit next to you.
“Is it like a good cop bad cop sort of thing?” You ask before turning to see who sat next to you.
“I dunno.” The voice sounded different.
You turn to see Kim Taehyung, a highschool friend, you shriek and hug him.
“Tae tae! When did you get back?” You start speaking french.
You both attended a private school in Paris but he pursued art there while you came home for college. Though you knew each other since you were kids, you only became close in highschool.
“A couple of days ago, I’m in town for a relative’s wedding. Fancy seeing you here, you hate clubs.” His arm was draped over the couch behind you.
Jungkook could see it from across the room, his stare is as sharp as a spear. The moment Tae tucks a hair behind your ear, he snaps. Angrily wading through the crowd on the dance floor before he finally reaches you both.
Tae looks up at him. “Jungkook.”
“Taehyung.” The air suddenly felt cold. Your eyes going back and forth between them.
Taehyung was the reason Jungkook didn’t make swim captain in 6th grade. He’s pissed to this day. He was also the reason he didn’t join the Paris program, he didn’t want to be anywhere around the man.
Clearly you two became close while in Paris.
“Taehyung, you remember Jungkook, he’s my boyfriend.” The B word that came from your mouth made any anger from Jungkook dissipate.
“Ah. Seems that I was too late.” He teases but you reach up for Jungkook’s hand. Taehyung took it as his cue to leave. “It was nice seeing you both. If he ever breaks up with you…” he locks eyes with Jungkook. “Call me.” Then looks at you.
You give him a small wave as he left, Jungkook takes his seat back. A grin on his face.
“You called me boyfriend.” He wraps an arm around your waist.
“Are you not?” You bit your lip. But the expression on Jungkook’s face tells you he loves it.
“I most definitely am, girlfriend.” You both cringe and laugh.
You wait a couple more minutes until Namjoon gives a thumbs up while passing you both before you stood up and left.
“Well, that was fun.” You smile as Jungkook gets in the car with you.
“But not as fun as—“ Before Jungkook could finish his sentence you’re crossing the center console and sitting on his lap, landing your lips on his.
It was a good makeout session until Jungkook starts undressing you.
“Wait. We can’t.” You pull away from the kiss, his hooded eyes luring you in. He asks why, “It’s bad luck to fuck in a car.”
“Says who?” He chuckles. “Its not like anyone can see us.”
“I know and I really want to. But it’s bad luck. For the car, not us.” He full on laughs.
“I wanna test that now.” He continues to put both hands on your ass. “Shit.” He curses when he feels you wearing a thong.
“Fine. Its your car.” You crawl towards the back seat. “Do you want your reward?” You wink and he hastly follows you.
His jeep has a wide leg space for the back seat so there was no hurdle as you situate yourself between his legs. You tie your hair up in a pony tail and place his hand on it.
“Shit. I don’t think I’ll last long with you looking like a fucking goddess.” You smirk at his words as you finally take him in your mouth. “Holy fuck. You are most definitely a goddess.” You take him deep in your throat and swallow around him.
He groans deeply making your slick drip from your folds. You moan around him, you can feel his dick twitch on your tongue. You drag your tongue across every ridge and nerve, the slurping sounds echoing in Jungkook’s brain. Despite your ruined mascara, he worships how you take him so well. Whispering filthy things as he cums down your throat.
He pulls you by your pony tail, you’re facing the passenger’s side window, you feel his tongue lick your thigh all the way up to your folds.
“Baby, you’re dripping.” You chuckles. “Who did this to you?” He, again, rips your underwear off.
That’s the fifth time in the time you’ve been together.
“You.” You mewl and rest your head on the seat. “Kookie, please.” Your breathing becomes ragged as you feel him tease your hole with his fingers. Pushing back towards him.
“Eager, baby?” He bites your ass cheek as he plunges two fingers in you.
He’s making you scream and moan, not giving a shit if someone passed by and heard you. Begging for more, his fingers have no mercy after adding another finger. He makes you fuck yourself on his hand and he revels in your reactions.
Your thighs start shaking, a sign that you’re close but just before you dive into your climax he pulls away.
“Nooooo—FUCK.” Your complaint turns into a moan, your eyes rolling to the back of your head as he rams his huge cock in you in one go. Your wetness making it easy for him to slide in.
He pistons in you, for sure someone can see the car shake but who the fuck cares anymore.
He takes a seat and you ride his huge cock facing away from him. You rest your hands on the front seats and give him something you’ve always wanted to do. And honestly, it drives him mad.
You raise your hips and start fucking yourself on his cock. As if you were twerking on him.
The view of your ass bouncing makes him lose it. He gathers up some slick and spits on your ass, you look back at him as he teases your ass hole with his thumb. You push back and nod, giving him a go.
He lets out a rough exhale as he pushes this thumb into your ass. You moan at the intrusion but surprisingly, it feels good. Maybe its the alcohol , or maybe its just Jungkook but fuck you feel ecstacy.
Your entire body becomes sensitive as you reach your peak.
“Baby. So fucking close.” You moan and Jungkook meets your ass by thrusting up. His thumb still in there. The sensation pushes you over and you’re cumming all over his cock the same time as he paints your insides white.
Your arms give out and Jungkook catches you again. You both catch your breat before you crawl to reach for the wet tissues from the glove compartment. You clean each other up.
“So… butt stuff.” You start and he chuckles.
“Its my first time too baby. Let’s put it on a shelf.” He kisses you deeply. Three words almost slipped out of his lips but he holds it back. Its too soon.
The next morning.
You both stand on the side walk, staring at Jungkook’s car as it gets towed. Apparently, it won’t start and its not because of the battery.
You open your mouth to say something but he shuts you up by kissing you. Out on the street. For your parents and the neighborhood to see. Both his hands on either side of your face, your arms wrapped around his waist.
“Yes, you warned me. But it was so worth it.” He pecks your lips. “We still have your car.”
“Nope. Its bad luck. My baby cannot have bad luck.” He keeps an arm around your shoulders as you take a stroll down the road.
“So, do you already have an outfit for the charity ball?” He asks and you nod.
You do hope he likes the deep royal purple gown you had custom made. It was also your graduation party after all.

getting up to mischief
written for ‘formal’ and ‘eggnog’ | wc: 1000 # | steddie | rated: t | cw: drug use (marijuana) | tags: no upside down au, strangers to lovers, vacationing steve, coat boy eddie, smoking together
@steddieholidaydrabbles & @steddiemas
The worst duty to pull was coat check during an event at the resort. Eddie was only really busy at the start and end of the event, with hours of absolute nothing in between.
And he wasn’t allowed to leave.
The richy-riches didn’t leave early most of the time, so Eddie didn’t bother standing at the counter waiting around just in case. He picked a spot far from the counter and lit up once the charity function had gotten into full swing.
He smoked to the distant sounds of idle conversation and laughter, all with the background of Christmas music played by the live string instruments. If he closed his eyes, it was almost peaceful.
Except for the fact that the rest of the staff, besides him and the kitchen crew, had an early night off.
And then, of course, someone decided to barge right into the coat closet.
There wasn’t much Eddie could do to hide what he was doing. Caught red-handed, with a lit joint in his hand and no way to duck into the coats without bringing attention to himself.
The guy was definitely a guest, in black dress pants and shoes, with a white-button up shirt and a fitted vest over it.
No neck or bowtie though, Eddie noted.
The guy listed his head and noticed he wasn’t as alone as he’d thought.
Eddie had turned off the overhead light for some privacy—and look how well that had worked—but the guy’s eyes still found him, or the red cherry of the joint, in the low light.
“Sorry, the door was…unlocked,” he apologized.
Eddie raised a brow at him. If it had been quite literally any other guest, they would have jumped on the opportunity to curse him out for not only lazing about on the job, btu acting a like a delinquent right next to their expensive coats.
The guy shifted a bit more into the light from open space over the counter, and Eddie finally recognized him.
“Steve, right?”
They hadn’t spoken since that first day Eddie had taken Steve and his friends’ coats. He’d done it again since, quite often actually, but each time Steve only tipped for himself with that same smirk he wore before he’d initially walked away.
Eddie still had no idea what to do with it.
“Charity dinner not your scene?” he asked with a short pull of the joint.
Steve gave no hint that he was appalled by the action. Instead, he brushed his hair out of his face and answered, “It’s all people my parents’ age. And their kids who don’t want to be here, either.”
Eddie hummed in the back of his throat and exhaled smoke up toward the ceiling. When he dropped his chin, Steve was watching him, head cocked just so.
“You partake?”
Steve let out a huff through his nose. “Not since my parents dragged me here.”
Eddie held the joint out with the tips of his fingers in invitation, his voice just off of being a lilt. “I won’t tell if you won’t.”
There wasn’t much more convincing than that and Steve’s held gaze on the joint for a full two seconds.
Steve unbuttoned his vest with one hand as crossed the small room, and didn’t seem to care about his nicely pressed pants when he sat straight on the carpet. He plucked the joint from Eddie’s hand as brought it to his mouth, taking a slow inhale.
Definitely not his first.
“Daring little socialite, aren’t you?”
“Not really,” Steve corrected, leaning his head back to blow out the smoke. “First year my parents bothered to bring me along.”
Eddie left that alone, especially when Steve passed him the joint. It wasn’t exactly a good time for either of their life stories. Not when getting high was so much more enticing.
But, Steve seemed a bit more on Eddie’s level than any of the other spoiled brats running around the place. More…corruptible.
Eddie let them sit in the quiet for a moment, taking a drag and letting the warmth settle in his lungs and throat before he asked, “You want to be a little more rebellious?”
“And do what? We’re in a coat closet,” Steve said with a snide side-eye.
Eddie gave it right back, gesturing to their utter isolation from the festivities. “Right, because there’s absolutely nothing that two young people could possibly do by themselves in the privacy of a closet.”
“Oh.”
Steve ducked his head, and if Eddie didn’t know better than to look, he might have thought Steve was blushing.
But they were halfway through the blunt and Eddie was loose and uncaring of the consequence, so he kept on.
Steve didn’t answer straight away, staring at the carpet in front of him. Eddie took another inhale of smoke.
“Yeah, alright,” Steve said finally, shifting to turn toward Eddie.
Definitely not going to stop and question why Steve was totally fine with hooking up with the help in a coat closet, Eddie stubbed out the joint on the bottom of his shoe.
And apparently Steve had been waiting for him, because as soon as his hands were free, Steve had sidled close and pressed his mouth to Eddie’s in that abrupt way of horny boys.
Eddie could taste the weed right away, and even more when Steve slid a hand onto his jaw and tilted Eddie’s head where he wanted it to be able to slip his tongue past Eddie’s mouth.
That…and something else. Something with cinnamon. And alcohol.
Eddie pulled back, swiping his tongue along his bottom lip to taste the lingering flavor from Steve.
“What is that?”
Steve paused, eyes unfocused from the weed.
Then, “Eggnog, I think.”
Eddie frowned, and making out be damned, he asked, “Who the hell serves eggnog at a charity dinner?”
Steve ignored the question entirely, choosing instead to shove Eddie onto the floor and let Eddie lick the rest of the taste from his mouth for the rest of the party.

Pairing Joel Miller x Daughter Reader
Summary For years, you’ve survived tethered to Joel’s side, haunted by the loss of your sister and scared to step outside of his shadow. So when he bonds with the girl he’s tasked to smuggle, it strains your complicated relationship—until the threat of losing him forces you to confront just how much he means to you [angst, fluff, 5.4k].
A/N This is some of my favorite prose I've written recently. Daughter!reader is a new dynamic for me, but it was such a rewarding writing experience. Thank you to the anon who sent this request in. I hope you all enjoy.
∘°∘♡∘°∘
𝐒𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆
It’s cold outside today. If the draft sneaking in through the windows isn’t enough to let on, the sky itself is an undeniable sign. There’s no blue, no clouds that can be distinguished from the next. The entire expanse is a pale white sheet. As if the heavens have decided to shield earth from its view because of how far it’s fallen.
Nevertheless, life in the Boston Quarantine Zone labors on. Day after soulless day, rain or shine. Like a well-oiled machine who’s battered parts of flesh and blood refuse to lay down and die.
The glass of the living room window is cool against your forehead as you gaze outside. Everything is dull. Brick, metal, concrete, and endless earthtones constitute the expanse of buildings that seemingly stretch for miles. However, after having explored every corner of this walled city, you know it’s finite. A mere portion of a much larger world trying to find its footing again.
The people walking on the sidewalks below look small from the height of your apartment. All seeming to move on a droning autopilot, clad in worn clothes that likely belonged to ten other people before them.
With a sigh, you step away from the window and plop back down on the couch. The coffee table is cluttered with stained, old papers and trinkets, but you reach for the stack of Polaroids you’d previously been flipping through. Each photo and caption transports you back to a past moment in time...
tea for two ♡ March 13, 2003
A day that seems closer than it actually is, now confined to a single, glossy frame. The white border has faded to beige and the picture itself no longer bears its original saturation. In it, you and Sarah are wrapped in each other’s arms, dressed like princesses for the tea party you invited her to.
You were her three-year-old shadow, and even though you got on her nerves half the time, she found it hard to say no to you. Everybody in the Miller household did.
lake day!!! July 4, 2003
A sunny day. You, Sarah, and Joel are squinting into the light but smiling, your backs to the lake. Later that night, according to Joel’s retelling, you cried because of the colorful, celebratory explosions bursting amid the night sky.
dad’s getting old (jk ily dad) September 26, 2003
Joel’s smile is shy as he sits at the kitchen table with a cone birthday hat on his head. Sarah was the one behind the lens while you clung to her leg, both you and Tommy making goofy faces in hopes of making Joel smile wider.
He turned thirty-six that day. By that evening, everything had changed. Not just because of the outbreak, but because Sarah, who had been a light in so many of the photos, was gone too. A few months after her fourteenth birthday, no less.
It feels strange being twenty-three now. An age she never got to see—
The faint metallic clinking of a belt being fastened prompts you to curiously stand to your feet. After setting down the photos, you saunter to the hallway, where there’s a straight view to Joel’s bedroom. The door is cracked, and warm lamplight pours out to light the end of the hall. With each step closer you take, the old, wooden floorboards creak.
When you make it to the door, you rap your knuckles against it a few soft times. There’s shuffling on the other side.
You knock again when there’s no response. “Dad?”
“What’s up?” he doesn’t say it in a clipped, annoyed way so you know he hadn’t heard your previous knocking.
“Can I come?”
He’s quiet for a beat. “I’m finishing up getting dressed. But yeah.”
Inside, the bed still isn’t made. He’s standing in front of the full body mirror leaning against the wall. The paint of the gold trim around it is peeling, revealing the dark aluminum beneath. The glass itself is a bit foggy with stubborn grime that refuses to be scrubbed away. And right in the middle, at the same height that Joel stands, is a sizable spiderweb crack that makes his face look fragmented unless he bends down or shifts to either the left or right.
Right now, he doesn’t seem to mind the distortion of his face, more interested in assessing his clothes. When you step up behind him, a little to the right, your entire body looks whole. Face and all.
His eyes briefly flick to you as he continues to button the rest of his olive colored shirt. When he’s finished, he sucks in his stomach and pulls up the waistband of his dark jeans to rest at a more comfortable place on his hips.
It isn’t until then that you notice a small portion of the back of his shirt is flipped up, the fabric thick enough to hold its place. You reach out to smooth it down. Joel hums in realization.
“Thanks,” he mumbles.
“Yep,” you murmur. “I thought you were off today.”
Turning around and brushing past you, he sits in the accent chair to put on his boots. A grunt escapes him with the effort of leaning down. You watch as his thick, battered fingers fumble with the laces until they produce two neat bows. He sits back with a sigh when he’s done, running a hand through his fluffy, silvering hair.
“I’m meeting with Marlene,” he says. The way you frown tells him that’s not a good thing, or nearly enough information. “Tess will be there too. It’s looking like we might be able to get that car battery we need to set out for Tommy.”
You process that information with a slow nod. The idea of finding him feels elusive these days.
A few weeks ago, Marlene told Joel she knew a couple guys who could provide resources. At various points in the months prior, she claimed the very same thing. Every promise she made fell flat because those said contacts either died or backed out of the negotiation. Yet, Joel held out hope every time.
It used to be you who accompanied him whenever he went to meet with Marlene, but it’d gotten to the point where you couldn’t bring yourself to believe her or stand seeing her face.
But Joel still did. For the sake of his own conscience. For Tommy.
After standing from the chair, he fishes into his back pocket for a red cardstock meal card. When you reach out to take it from him, he doesn’t let go, instead opting to look directly into your eyes.
“Want you to meet us for lunch at the northern dining commons at noon. We should be done by then,” he says, waiting for you to nod so he knows you’re tracking.
“Don’t leave before then, alright? It’s getting crazier out there. Don’t know if it’s ‘cause summer’s coming or what.”
“I won’t,” you insist.
When you try to take the card again, he holds onto it just for the sake of coaxing a smile out of you. It doesn’t quite meet your eyes, but it’s enough to tie him over for now. He lets go of it just as you’re in the middle of pulling, and the lack of resistance makes you stumble backwards. The sound of amusement he huffs out earns him a light punch to the shoulder.
“I mean it, though.” He points a finger. “Don’t leave till it’s time, alright? We’ll fill you in on everything then.”
Rolling your eyes, you follow him back out into the living room. “I already said I wouldn’t.”
“Well, reiterating is my job.”
Those are the words he leaves you with before heading out the door.
A few hours later, when the clock strikes twelve, you’re eating at the dining commons alone. Anxiousness prickles beneath your skin. You soothe yourself as chatter and the clinking of silverware float up all around you…
Everything’s fine. Joel’s alright. Tess is alright. Just finish eating and go home.
•••
Sunset paints the sky that evening. The clouds that lingered all day have finally made way for an expressionist ombre of blue, pink, and orange. It's beautiful in a way that would’ve been worth photographing once upon a time.
All you can think about is the fact that Joel hasn’t returned.
A little past seven, voices arise in the hallway. They’re hushed and somewhat frustrated, one of them undeniably belonging to Joel. By the time keys hastily begin jingling in the door, you’re popping to your feet from the couch. A second later, it swings open with enough force that it hits the neighboring wall.
“Get inside,” Joel orders. You can’t see him from where you’re standing.
You can’t see anybody.
“I don’t have to keep listening to you,” quips a tight, youthful voice. “Whatever happened to stranger danger?”
“Move, Ellie,” Joel says. “Before I make you.”
A young girl wearing a backpack trudges into the apartment with a scowl. After looking around the bleak accommodation, her eyes settle on you. The air falls silent. You note the wispy flyaways escaping her short ponytail, the slight redness to her eyes like she’s been either crying or rubbing them.
Ellie sizes you up in return. You can see it in the calculated rove of her dark gaze, the way she squares her shoulder to match your guardedness.
She eventually whips her attention back to Joel. “Who the hell is she?”
“Told you I didn’t live alone.” That’s all he gives her before redirecting his attention to you. He seldom reveals the entirety of what he’s feeling in a given moment, but you can see the guilt weighing down on his shoulders. “I—”
“You missed lunch.”
He runs a heavy hand down his face. “I know.”
The girl looks between the two of you with owl-like attentiveness that borders on amusement. At least she wasn’t the only one having a shitty day. Outside, shouting voices arise in the distance. Glass bottles break.
“Dad. You wanna tell me what’s going on?”
Ellie’s eyes widen at the revelation.
Joel doesn’t say anything because you’re staring daggers straight into his very being.
“I’m immune to the virus,” she speaks up. There’s a hint of pride in her tone, like she’s looking past the present to some undefined future in which she saves the world.
“He’s gonna take me to the people who can find the cure. Then you guys are gonna go find Timmy or whatever—Tommy.”
It’s an oversimplification, but Joel doesn’t have the energy to expound right now. Not when you look like you would lunge for him if it wasn’t for the girl.
•••
Later that night, he sees the first shove coming. Your eyes darken until you’re no longer able to constrain your frustration to a mere look. It frustrates you all the more when he doesn’t budge. So you do it again, pushing both your hands straight into his chest.
All he does is take a single step backwards to create distance, hands raised in surrender. The fact that he isn’t reacting makes more heat consume your face.
Until, finally, he grabs your wrists.
“Are you done acting like a child?” he asks.
“As soon as you quit treating me like one,” you bark. “All you do is give orders and break promises, and I’m supposed to keep following you around like a dog.”
“I don’t see any shackles.”
“Because it’s you,” you retort, attempting to pull away from his light hold. “You’re the shackles, the prison guard, and the key.”
Those words make him drop your wrists as if you’ve stung him with poison. He takes a seat on the edge of his bed and drops his head into his hands with a heavy sigh. The mattress creaks under his weight. In the new silence, you stand and stare at him as your breaths even out.
Neither of you are aware that Ellie has her ear pressed to the other side of the bedroom door, listening.
When he lifts his head, only then are you aware of how tired and worn down he looks. His hair is more disheveled than it was this morning. The same hair you used to playfully run your fingers through and litter with sparkly hair clips. Except now, his face is void of a smile.
“I’m sorry about lunch, alright?” His dark eyes search yours for any inkling of forgiveness. He knows he scared you. That’s what’s beneath your anger. “I didn’t know I was gonna get held up like that.”
Joel Miller was a lot of things, but a pushover wasn’t one of them.
If he really wanted to, he could’ve at least come to the dining commons to explain. Or ignore Marlene’s request entirely, and force her to find someone else to smuggle the girl. Even Tess had refused to involve herself in the escape plan because she feared it would be all risk and no reward.
“What happens if these guys turn out to be dead too?” You ask Joel, voice softer than before. “What if this is yet another exchange that falls through?”
He knows you have a point. He also knows he has a brother out there miles away who recently sent him a signal.
“If there’s a chance, I gotta take it,” he says. “And if we get out there and nobody’s waiting for us, we’re heading to Wyoming anyway.” He meets your gaze.
You swallow and blink in surprise. “Really?”
“I’m done waiting around for the right time,” he says, voice low but firm. “It’s never gonna come. Gotta forge it ourselves.”
He sounds sure. Right now, you could use something to believe in. And if nothing else, a change of scenery from the city walls you’ve been confined within for far too long.
•••
𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐑
𝐈.
The Capitol Building is empty when you arrive, no sight of the men who were supposed to take Ellie and give you and Joel the supplies you need to carry on. For a while, the three of you linger hopefully on the inside, where grass grows through the chipped marble floors. The only people who eventually arrive are ridden with the virus, their rotting bodies infested with fungus from the inside out.
You promptly flee the scene after swallowing disappointment like a pill.
𝐈𝐈.
The front door of Bill and Frank’s house is unlocked when you arrive in the desolate suburbia. Dead grass and tall weeds constitute the yard. The flower beds out front have long wilted. That’s enough for you to know that they’re either dead or gone. Joel pushes into the house anyway, with you and Ellie trailing behind. Bill left a note behind. They’re dead. Ellie asks questions about them that Joel thoughtfully answers.
The three of you take turns showering, then leave.
𝐈𝐈𝐈.
By early August, the trio feels more like a unit, having been bound together by shared letdowns and long nights under the stars. Some days, you don’t know where you are until coming across specific landmarks or recognizable cliffs. You and Joel teach Ellie how to shoot because she wouldn’t stop begging. Most days, as you’re making progress towards Wyoming, it’s the two of you trailing behind Joel, who often shoots unreadable glances over his shoulder to make sure you’re keeping up.
Sometimes he lets down his walls to offer a small smile.
•••
𝐅𝐀𝐋𝐋
All around, tall trees stretch towards the sky, bearing vibrant leaves beginning to change colors. Every so often, a breeze rolls through and ruffles them. The same mourning dove has been calling out into the wind with no response in return. It’s a tune that filled the mornings of your childhood back when you were on the road to Boston with Joel. You hadn’t heard it much since.
Twigs and leaves crunch beneath your boots as you squat to lower your fingertips into the creek. The water is cool against your skin, and clear enough to see the rocks at the bottom. When you stand up, you startle at the sight of Ellie standing a few yards away. She takes a few apologetic steps back, almost tripping over herself.
Further away, Joel sits with his back propped against a tree as he reorganizes the contents of his backpack.
“Jesus, El,” you sigh, pressing a hand to your chest over your heart.
Ellie no longer seems sure of her reason for approaching you. There were times when she didn’t look her age—whether it be her stare or the way she carried herself—but this wasn’t one. Now, an air of self-consciousness surrounds her, like she’s caught between knowing nothing and everything all at once.
“I didn’t mean to scare you. I thought you heard me,” she rushes out. There’s a pang of guilt when you realize she thinks you’re angry.
“No, it’s fine,” you insist, softening your tone. “I’ve just been in my head.”
She nods and feels more comfortable to step up alongside you.
“I’ve seen those pictures you’ve been looking at.” She continues when you don’t say anything, “Was that your sister?”
Neither you or Joel have brought her up, but your silence is an answer.
“What was she like?”
“I don’t remember much.”
Only bits and pieces. The larger gaps have been filled in by Joel over the years. He never talks about Sarah at length, but sometimes he’ll see something or you’ll make an expression that reminds him of her. That usually prompted him to tell a short story. Oftentimes, without meeting your eyes because he was too busy trying to busy his restless hands. Talking about her always makes him fidget.
“I’m sorry,” she says. “I know what it’s like to lose someone.”
Ignoring her, you ask, “Did Joel say when we were gonna start back hiking?”
Embarrassed, Ellie clears her throat and shakes her head no. “Why do you use his first name like that?” You almost hadn’t realized.
“Force of habit.” Her brows have furrowed in confusion, so you explain, “Half the time, people in the QZ only listened to me when I threw his name in the mix. It holds a lot of weight among certain groups these days.”
“Like he’s the boogeyman or something?”
You allow a small chuckle to escape at her words. She feels like it earns her a place back in your good graces. Pride glimmers in the grin that stretches across her face.
“Something like that,” you agree.
The familiar crunch of leaves rises as Joel makes the short venture over to the two of you. When he sees the fleeting smiles on your faces, he clears his throat and waits to see if he’ll be invited into whatever small moment of amusement had arisen. He seems to have just missed it.
“Speaking of the devil,” Ellie says,
Joel frowns, remaining quiet as he walks up to the edge of the creek. He stares into the bottom for a few thoughtful seconds. Both of you watch as he squats down to splash his face with water, humming with refreshment.
Ellie no sooner moves to copy him. She laughs, a bubbly surprised sound, as she stands with her face dripping and eyes squeezed shut.
“Wait, how do I—”
“Use your shirt,” Joel quips lightly.
“Oh, yeah!” She uses her shirt to dry her eyes just as he had.
The chuckle that rumbles through Joel’s chest is a sound you haven’t heard in a while. It makes you stand up straighter, unconsciously shifting his way as if the sound has the power to heal that part of you that misses him even when he’s within reach. Misses how things were before he grew hard and consumed with the need to survive.
You didn’t fault him for it, though.
What’s become increasingly clear, however, is that need was born as much out of spite as it was out of the pure, unadulterated will to live. The end of the world took Sarah, and to Joel, ensuring the two of you endured no matter what was his fuck you to the universe. His proof that everything he cared about couldn’t be ripped from his hands. It was a muddled labor of love.
But right here, right now, he’s laughing. Not urging silence or trying to instill a survival lesson. He’s letting the moment wash over him for what it is. There you stand watching the two of them like a mere onlooker frozen in place. The entire scene is reminiscent of a different time. A different Joel.
Something heavy and bitter settles in your stomach at the sight of their twin smiles.
“Are you gonna try it?” Ellie asks like she’s referring to some grand experience.
“It’s just water,” you say flatly.
Face falling, Ellie looks to the ground as if the bridge connecting you two had been burned yet again. Something protective flares in Joel’s chest.
He gives you a pointed look. “You feelin’ alright?”
“I’m great. Grand even.”
The air shifts, levity disappearing like a vapor. All three of you can feel it.
“Let’s keep moving then.”
For weeks, you keep it moving. Through rain, shine, and snow. The closer you get to Wyoming, the further away you drift from Ellie and Joel. Like you’re the corner piece of an island that’s been chipped away from the larger landmass.
𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑
Arriving at the Jackson commune does little to mend things back to the way they were. Some days pass by with more conversation and laughter between the three of you than others. Coming here had been the very thing you longed for, right alongside Joel. But tonight, as you fold clothes at the secondhand store where you volunteer, you wonder what there is to dream about now.
You don’t know what you like or want. You were so young when the outbreak began that Joel’s practices and motivations became your own. You don’t know where he ends and you begin, and the inability to distinguish makes a part of you resent him.
The bells above the door jingle as Ellie enters with her backpack slung over her shoulder. Half of her hair is pulled into a ponytail, while the other falls in loose waves just past her shoulders. For once, it looks like she brushed it properly.
You see more of her than Joel these days.
“Hey, I’m gonna go over to Dina’s,” she says as she pads over to you. “Joel’s not home yet so I figured I’d come tell you.” She absentmindedly runs her hand over the cashmere sweater you’d folded minutes prior to her arrival.
You set down the pair of jeans you just finished folding. “He’s not?”
“No,” she says, unphased. “Probably went straight to the dining hall.”
A dull, gnawing sense of worry arises in your chest. Ellie can’t see it or feel it herself, still tending to believe Joel was somehow invincible. That every time he went out for patrol, he was bound to return because that’s what he’d proven to her so far.
“Be safe, okay?” you tell her. “Thanks for letting me know.”
When she leaves, you head to the store owner in the back room. He’s rummaging through a huge box of donated items.
“Hey, Stewart?”
There’s a click as two glasses knock into one another. “Goddammit—what?” He straightens up to turn around and face you.
He has a head full of wiry gray hair and his glasses are crooked on his nose. There’s a light sheen of sweat beading on his forehead.
“You alright back here?” you tease lightly. He grumbles and waves you off. “Would it be okay if I clocked out early? Natalie and Craig are out there, so you’ll still have help until closing.” It’s been pretty slow this evening anyways. No chance a random rush would occur.
“Yeah, yeah. Whatever you want, kid.” He huffs and looks back down at the box. “I’ll see you on Thursday.”
“You’re the best, Stew.” You flash him a playful smile.
Outside, you shiver at how cold it’s grown. Crossing your arms over your chest does little to alleviate the creeping chill. The first snow of the season has yet to fall, but you can feel it lingering in the crisp air. Nevertheless, Jackson Hole is buzzing. People of all ages flit in and out of shops and gathering spaces. Everywhere you look, there’s a friendly face, if not an actual friend.
This time of year, the entire commune is reminiscent of those cute Christmas village displays. Plush wreaths with red bows hang on wooden posts, and colorful fairy lights shine all around. The most activity buzzes over at the dining hall. Families talk and laugh on the benches outside, and you can see people walking around inside through the windows.
As you head that way, the two men standing on the patrol office porch capture your attention. It was probable that Joel was inside either logging or assessing his hours.
When you make it to the building, you recognize the taller man as Cameron, someone who often partnered with Joel because they had the same, collected, no-nonsense way about them. They automatically nod to you in greeting, but their lips are set in firm lines like they have news you don’t.
You offer a shaky smile back as a lump forms in your throat, “Evening.”
Your heart rate speeds up as Cameron opens the door for you. Inside, six men stand circled around Tommy, who’s tone is firm as he talks with his hands. Some have rifles slung over their shoulders, and others have pistols on their hips. Standing among the group is Lyle, a younger guy who was scheduled to be Joel’s partner today.
The only person missing is Joel.
You allow your eyes to rove over the plaques, portraits, and retired weaponry decorating the walls as you await the end of Tommy’s lecture.
“Let what happened out there today be a lesson—” Tommy stops talking when his eyes fall on you, and other heads turn to look your way. A few throats are cleared, necks are scratched.
“Hold on a second, fellas.” He breaks out of the circle and heads towards you, cowboy boots clunking against the wood floorboards. There’s a rifle draped across his body like he’s ready for action.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he says softly, reaching out to squeeze your shoulder. He doesn’t have to say anything for you to gather what this meeting is all about. Everybody has discretely turned to look at the two of you.
“Tommy…”
“Why don’t we step outside for a second, yeah?” He places a gentle hand at the small of your back to guide you back out into the cold. Cameron and his buddy slip inside out of respect for your privacy.
“What’s going on, Tommy?”
He wrestles with how to answer. You see it in his dark eyes, the way he shifts his stance. His cheeks are a bit flushed.
“Joel hasn’t made it back,” he breathes. “Lyle made it in without him around an hour ago. Said they ran into some disgruntled nomads and got split up,” he says. “Got a few people out looking for him now, and I’m about to go out myself.”
How foolish you’ve been acting these past several weeks hits you all at once. Everything from purposely distancing yourself from Joel, to occasionally ignoring him whenever he tried to ask how you’ve been—you’d made a point to be away from the house as much as possible. Most of all, it’d been foolish to pretend he wasn’t one of the only people in the world you wouldn’t be able to live without.
A stinging sensation pricks in your eyes, but no tears form. You don’t have it in you to cry. Helplessness crashes down on you in the form of frustration.
“What do you mean came back without him?” you ask. “What good are patrol partners if they’re just gonna leave you behind—”
“Hey. Hey.” Tommy looks at you intently. His eyes are so much like Joel’s that you look away. “This ain’t the time to be pointing fingers, alright? When you’re out there like that and shit hits the fan, you don’t know how you’ll react.”
“Definitely not by leaving my partner behind.”
Joel had never left you behind. Things had gone sideways time after time again, but you managed to remain by each other’s side.
Worry radiates off of you in waves.
“I’m worried out my ass too,” Tommy admits, trying to assure you. “But judging other people ain’t gonna bring him back any faster,” he says.
When release a heavy exhale and slink your head down, Tommy steps forwards to wrap his arms around you.
“It’s gonna be okay,” he promises. “You eaten dinner yet?”
“I’ll probably throw up if I do.”
He pulls away to look at you under the soft glow of the porchlight. “Let’s at least try to get a little something in your system, okay? I’ll walk you over to the dining hall.” Tommy guides you that way, and everything around you seems to fade in and out as you walk.
Tommy’s words manage to break through to you, “I know my brother. He’ll make it back one way or another,”
He always did. Maybe a bite to eat didn’t sound so bad.
•••
The unyielding weight of your nerves forces sleep to find you when you make it home. Not in your bed, but on the couch as you sit and wait for Joel’s return. Worrying has taken a lot out of you.
Creaky footsteps arise out on the porch. Then the lock clicks. Neither of which you register. By the time Joel is walking in through the front door, your eyes flutter open. There’s a slight sway to his stride like he’s favoring one leg. Other than that, he’s still in one piece. You’re on your feet in an instant, ignoring the crick in your neck.
“Oh my god, Dad—thank god.”
Joel stops in his tracks as you hurry over to him. He lets you look him over as if he’s a child who just fell off a bike.
“Hey, sweetheart,” there’s a rasp to his voice.
Relief is written all over your face. It’s the most interest you’ve shown in him in weeks, but he’s grateful for it anyways. He’s grateful for any mind you’re willing to pay him.
There’s so much you want to say—I thought I lost you, don’t scare me like that again, I love you—but none of it comes out. Instead, it’s all packed into the way you step forward to throw your arms around him.
But even hugging him brings you close enough.
Luckily, he’s so tall and broad that you settle for the feeling of being safe, cocooned in his arms. He squeezes you, not in the playful way that used to be a means of making you smile, but in a way that solidifies his presence. Assures you that he’s never going to let go. That you don’t have to worry about living without him.
As your tears wet his shirt, he doesn’t ease up or pull away. He remains constant like he’s been throughout your entire life, even on the days you thought you wanted him to disappear.
He presses a lingering kiss to the top of your head and you’re overcome with warmth.
“I love you to pieces,” his voice is low and thick with sincerity. “So much it hurts.”
It’s you who reluctantly pulls away to look up into his eyes.
“I love you too,” you murmur, cheeks glistening with tears.
The tears gathered in his eyes finally spill over. He doesn't turn away or tilt his head back in an attempt to fend them off. They simply roll down his cheeks at your words. You can’t recall seeing him cry since Sarah passed away. Guilt, sympathy, and gratitude swell in your chest. For the years he’s been strong for the both of you, for everyone who’s ever leaned on him in a time of need. He never made it look hard.
“Thank you,” you whisper. “For everything. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry—”
“As long as you’re safe, I can handle being ignored.” He manages a small, sad smile. “It ain’t easy growing up during the end of the world.” Few things ever were.
“It’s a little easier with you.”
“Just a little?” He asks lightly.
Both your smiles grow, and as you step back into his arms, every gripe and the the chaotic events of the evening fade away.

PREVIEW BELOW CUT ->
No more words, you said no more words after his confession. You stayed silent, and that pain flooded you today. The silence stayed with you.
Every night you’d spend on a phone call with him, laughing because no matter how hard you begged him he wouldn’t hang up first, was now filled with the darkness and tranquility of your room, the only sound being the cars that sped past your window or occasionally drunk people who’d loudly call out to taxi’s.
A tall figure towered over you, casting a dark shadow on your papers. An intense scent radiated off of them and you knew exactly who it was.
“Did Sunghoon come to school today?” Jay asked, just like he has every single day.
There was also Sunghoon. Another person you hadn't spoken to. Another person that just disappeared.
His presence in the situation felt so foggy, confusing. Your growing feelings for the boy also confused you.
Did Heeseung tell him to kiss you like that, touch you in those places?
You tried calling him, once, then twice and you’d call again a third time just in case the other two didn't go through. But he didn’t answer anymore. You didn't know if you wanted to speak to him so badly to find out what happened before the party or because you missed him.
Maybe it was both.
Jay chose to stick by Sunghoon almost immediately, which was appaling considering he knew Heeseung much longer. He claimed that Sunghoon just gave into his manly desires and Heeseung is wrong for punching him over nothing. ‘I’d do the same to her if I were him’- Jake forwarded a couple weeks back.
You were no longer mad at Jay, you’d no longer get annoyed at his snarky, degrading remarks. You just accepted the fact that he’ll never get better.
“No, he didn’t” you replied, turning around to face him “Just like he didn’t yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that one too” you added, a sarcastic smile on your face.
He dyed his hair, the blond locks no longer complimenting his sharp features. He looked much softer with the brown dye.
He sighed “Can I sit?” Jay eyed the seat next to you, and you looked at him amused.
“You want to sit next to a woman? Won’t my female aura disturb your studying?” you scoffed, a hint of sarcasm in your tone.
He rolled his eyes “Very funny” he looked over to Jake who has finally caught a whiff of him “Jakey, what you say?” he tilted his head.
The relationship between them used to be strong, but that’s probably because Jake pretended to be someone different, someone much ‘cooler’. Cooler as in a lame pig who liked to shove alcohol down innocent girls throats.
Oh you’d never let him forget that.
“Do whatever you want, I don’t care honestly” he replied, avoiding eye contact with him.
That’s how it was most day’s at school. Jake and Jay pretended to hate each other, not care, even though deep down, they still had so much left to say. Jay would come down to the study hall with an excuse of looking for Sunghoon, just so he wouldn’t be lonely.

eye of the storm
A random scene that takes place a short time after episode 54 of Fragments. It's yearning o'clock in the old man town.
───── ⋆✧⋆ ───── His city twinkled and shimmered with a myriad artificial lights as he took in the sight from his favorite spot atop the watchtower. "When did it grow so vast?", he mused absently as he let the tranquility of the moment wash over him. Space and time ever shifted around him, bubbling, swirling, flowing gently or rushing like a stream, yet there he stood, at the eye of the silent storm, at the center of all, unchanging, eternal. He could recall the image of the shanty town as if it were there just yesterday, a creaking and sighing mess that threatened to collapse in on itself, and today, somehow, a magnificent city sprawled in its place, standing tall and reaching wide, enticing more and more people with the promise of tomorrow. He'd only blinked once or maybe twice, he thought with a wistful smile, and life did what life's wont to do.
It was a strange feeling, to be an inextricable part of this lovely society, at the same time to not belong to any given part of it. Were he to descend from the tower, walk wherever his feet would take him, knock on this crystalline or that wood-and-metal door, yes, of course, a familiar face would greet him and welcome him with all the warmth, and yet, it wouldn't be the selfsame kind of warmth that these people shared among each other. He was a caretaker, yet an outsider, everyone's favorite character, yet a legend veiled in mystery, never someone held by the loving hands. Links, he was all but made of links, - to the Crystal Tower, to every last resident of the Crystarium and beyond, - all these connections swirled around him, though never quite reached the center, silent and hollow.
"Exarch! Exarch! Frank!" - a pleasant voice pulled him out of his trance-like state. All smiles, the owner of the voice strode into the field of view, across the lawn and towards his tall perch, poised to jump up right to where he sat. Exarch didn't scramble to his feet, - that'd give away things he needed to keep hidden, - and waved with pretense ease. His mind raced. Shake himself awake, improvise, come up with a lie or a half-true excuse to leave as soon as possible, before the two of them could end up sitting next to each other, framed by the city lights and cradled by the starry sky. Not again. Never again.
He fumbled his way through a short conversation that he wouldn't be able to recall after running, - why did he have to run, again? - down the cold blue corridors to his crystalline chamber, lurching in the general direction of the bed, and burying himself in the sheets and pillows like a grub would hide itself in dirt. He played it safe. He managed. All was well, the status quo preserved for the day, and, gods willing, there wouldn't be too many days like this. A century of planning and waiting didn't prepare him for this.
Bit by bit, adrenaline receded, leaving his body limp and sluggish. He blindly reached out and pulled the disarrayed sheets over himself, not caring to undress. To return to that moment, he mused, to indulge in a simple human need, a single kiss, perhaps, would it truly put his plans in jeopardy? Knowing the grim and absolute answer, he let out a rattling sigh, and curled up tight.
Left unsupervised, his mind flipped through those freshly made memories, the sight and sound and scent and almost-touch and almost-taste that would infuse themselves into his very essence. He would carry all of that with him to - ah, wherever his borrowed eternity would come to a logical conclusion. The setting sun, the haze, the sway of foliage above his head, the tickle of grass under his hand, the softly speaking hero - close, so close, and, all of a sudden, closer still, their breaths mingling on the precipice of something beautiful that mustn't be.
As risky as it was, that moment, that would be his to keep. A prize. A proof of something he'd never hoped to achieve: to attract the man he was attracted to, not as a bumbling scholar from a lifetime ago, but as his current self. The alarms blared in his weary head, for one misstep today could spell doom for the past and future alike, and yet, somehow, he took relish in suddenly having to walk the razor's edge. Of course he would. He hummed to himself in a neutral tone, drifting, softly sliding to the dreamy state once more, to the recreation of that moment shared with his hero, rewritten so that neither of the two would pull away.

Pairing: Jaegyeon na x reader
.
.
.
Jaegyeon gripped his steering wheel tightly. It was late in the night, yet no sign of the city dying down. That’s Incheon for you, always busy and full in swing. He drove along side the busy streets, flashy bright lights along the roads and the sight of the night clubs coming out from their hiding spit emerged in his vision. He sighs. He hated you, has he ever told you that? You’re so irresponsible. You always act to high and mighty around the other kings. You fight so well and conquer every city you can. You can have it all yet you chose not to just because it takes too much work? And what do you do instead? Party. You party and drink, you meet some guy and flirt, or not. Jaegyeon parked his car far away from the busy red light streets. He doesn’t want anything to happen to Initial N after all. His hand twirling the keys around his fingers while he walked up the street. He doesn’t even know these clubs. They’re probably all boring anyway. Why do you go to these places? You can do so much better. He let out another sigh before walking down the stairs to the club. The hostess by the stand already pointing to your booth. His steps feel heavy. The dim light and loud atmosphere is making him a little irritated. He could see your silhouette from the distance. Lace dress, high heels, make up, loose hair. You’re always so different than when you fight. You’re cold, mean, strong and business like. But now, seeing you in a booth with other girls and boys, laughing while you drink some cheap alcohol one of those randoms bought you, the way you laugh at them. It seems so strange. Yet it’s not new to him no matter how many times he has seen it before. It’s always the same old song with you.
He looks at you, then your table, then the others at the table and back at you. You tell them you have to go and the people in your booth all whine, telling you you can stay a little longer, have another drink, it’s all fun. You tell them no in a half joking voice and grab Jeagyeon by the arm. You cling to his side and he guides you to his car. He talks to you once again. His hands on your frame to keep you from stumbling, you flirt with him, forgetting that the two of you hate each other’s guts. You say you’re cold and lean into his body, your hands brushing over his chest and shoulders. Your sweet voice fills his ears telling him everything he wants to hear from you. You tell him a bunch of lies. Well, maybe half lies. He tries to get you to sit in the car and buckled your seatbelt then walks to the driver’s seat, after Jaegyeon takes his own seat he already noticed that yours is off again, he watched you comes closer to him and sit in his lap. He sighs for the 3rd time that day. He holds you by the hips again and tells you no. You lean into his face and kiss him, he lets you kiss him. He lets you suck and lick his lips. He lets you open up his mouth to let your tongue slide in. He allows it and kissed you back, he knows he shouldn’t, but he’s still doing it. You grab his shirt and pull it off his body, he breaks the kiss and lets you sit in his lap while he drives you to the nearest yet best hotel he knows. He once again books the same room, same floor, same number, same service he always gets when he’s with you. He guides you to the room, you pull him into the bed, he obligates and pulls up your dress. You undo his pants and let it fall to the ground, he gets on top of you and you giggle. It’s always the same. The same thing you have been doing for some years. He kissed you once again. You kiss him back. The bed creeks. The voices are loud. The time is forgotten, the hate is not there. His breath is ragged. Your hair is disheveled. It’s not love making. It’s far from it. It’s just something the both of you do. You’re not lovers. Not even friends. Just some fuck buddy. You call, he picks up, you kiss, he kisses back. You tell him to go faster, he picks up his pace. He doesn’t remember how many times he did it with you, nor the positions. All he remembers is him fucking you and you fucking him. He remembers the way you kiss him and the way you kiss back, the taste of your spit intertwining with his. Him pressing you against the mattress, he puts up your legs and pounds into you for the millionth time while he moans out your name. He fucks you like you’re his girlfriend, but that’s not what you are. And you kiss him like he’s you’re boyfriend, which isn’t what he is.
Jaegyeon lost his interest in other women a long time ago, but he doesn’t know if the same goes for you. It’s all just raw, passionate and quick sex. It’s not boring, it’s fun. It’s amazing. He loves it. But that’s because it’s with you. Even now when he’s laying beneath you, his hands behind his head while you sit on top of him, your back against his legs and touching his body. Your hands touching his abs and then his chest. He still feels the same way as 4 years ago.
‘Don’t you ever want to be more than just this?’
Is what he asks. You laugh and don’t really give an answer, the two of you fall asleep, then you wake up, then you kiss once again. Then it’s turns into something more before he checks out the hotel and drives you home. The next time he meets you is with the other kings and it’s all back to normal. No word of it or what happened. Back to two people who can’t stand each other and back to two people who stil haven’t confessed only to be stuck in one big cycle.

thought
(did not proread this)
"If you had to be given two set of wish what would you do with them?"
She asked her voice calm and soft.Like a instrument playing it melody in the warm air.The pink haired boy, puzzled at her question,As his eyes kept staring at the beautiful clouds. The sky filled with it rich colors.
As both of them were laying down on the grass field, hearing the sound of nature pass through them, and watching the sky pass time in peace.
"Hmm?. . ." She hums again to regain his thought about her question.
He shrugs, his red orbs glances at your figure next to him,Completely recognize how your face look at the moment. . .
So memorizing, and full of light; you had a vibe that even the littlest bird was attached to,even he was too.Someone like him the total contrast to you was attached to your glow. Your voice breaks his thought and made him retreat his glaze up to the cloud again.
A little bit of redness colored his cheeks.
"One of my wishes is that No matter how far one could be,they would have a red strings that connect them to their lover or their future lover-but a different color for Other important people" She hums, agreeing with her own words, sukuna ponder a bit on what you said.A huff out.
'What a dumb thing to waste a wish on' he thinks.
" the other one is that Everyone gets Lives happily, because that to me is one of the best things of all." She said with a confident smile,as you bring up your arm in the air-opening your palm like your going to grab the cloud just by looking at it. Sukuna couldn't help but rolls his eyes. He and you were obviously different in every sort of aspect, like just how you think.
As he look at you and you make eye contact,he couldnt make but be admire for how you think positive in a fucked up world. The way you smile at him, made him completely weak. . You blinded him with your pureness. You make him want to protect that part of you from the horrors he had to go through.
He remove his stare and lend up his position,Now into a siding position, his blood like eyes, staring into the grass,it vibrant color fitted the color of the sun rays.
"I'll wish for . . . to rule the world and for you" He paused his word, his heart beating faster than it was normally. It was always happens when ever he thought about you,As his hand clenches his chest,to stop this feeling, his action his body was feeling.
'Was this your doing?. ."
He sense your eyes on him and your body motion to be closer to him.As you sit close to him, hearing him. "Hmm? For me to. . ?" He quickly answer to not look like a fool.
"For you to be by my side when I do" He says,as he coughs up to regain his confediance. You stayed quiet for a few seconds before a huge smile appears on your beautiful face. Your lips slips the blissful sound giggles. And he couldn't help but get annoyed at himself for not saying anything to you. Was he that weak to your touch. Your head leans on his shoulder, wiping the fake tears.
"What is so funny to you brat" He spoke out,his words not filled with a harsh tone. You shake your head, letting out a huff of a laugh. "I just thought of how weird it would be calling you-" You pause, adjusting your tone first. "Your highness Sukuna ryoman, at your service" You said with a playful mockery. He bluffs out in annoyances.
"whatever brat, but that is something your gonna have to get used to if I rule the world" He says with a casual tone.A sly smirk forming in his face as he imagine those rotten of villagers that treated like he was monster, begging for mercy.
You both enjoyed the comfort of each other. The sounds of the wind breezing, the bird chirping to each other. After a moment or two you cut the silence.
She hums in agreement. If you had look at his ears, you wouldve have seen the redness of them.He was very in fact still, stiff.Because your body warmth was very much spreading it warmth onto him, he could hear how gentlely your breathing was, how calm your heart beat against your chest.
"So what would be your second wish???" Your voice filled with curiosity, and with colors.
"I- I don't know. . . " He whisper, confused of himself, What would he use the second for. But if he had already has the world in his hands what was would he want. This was the first he had to think hard.
"You don't know?!" Your shocked lanced your voice. "You, Sukuna, the smartest man I know doesn't know what he will use his second wish on???"
He scoff out before pushing him off his shoulder, and that action of his made you laugh out loud. "shut it Punk" he murmur loudly.
Laughing out loud, you didn't hear him.Nor see his expressions. But right that moment he had a small smile on his usual stern face.
'one day I'll know it, and tell you punk' he thinks.
///
"That one day, finally came. . . " Sukuna four blood like eyes staring at the moon, the glow of the moon; showers him. As the blood on his body wasnt impossible to miss,it made his monsterous body appear more terrorifiy to any creature.
He stares a little more longer, before closely his eyes. But all he could see was your blood seeping into his clothes and staining his arms.
Oh how he loathes that day,he loathes how weak he was that day. That very day when you saved him, The day where it shoulve been him that his blood touch those moon light room.
Clenching his fist so hard, creating new wounds, letting his warm liquid of blood drip down his knuckles. As he turns around frustrated with himself.
He was able to rule the world, but at what cost was this for?.. He wasnt even able to protect your light against his darkness.
As he reach his estate, not giving a fuck about the servants, killing some of them that annoys him.His body taking him to whatever place it desires. The next thing he was in front of the pound in the garden. The moon reflect the beautiful reflection of two koi fishes dancing around each other.
A flash of a memory pops up. ⋆˙⟡
"Oh come on,Don’t be like that!! I promise that once you learned how to move your old man body that it-" You spoke with a playful smile.Your voice having a bit of a teasing tone ,when he interpret you.
The town was having their traditional festive dance. The moon night shining it rays. But sukuna had already plan to not go to those stupid events. But already guessing that he couldnt get you away from him,you had drag him in a section where it was just the two of you. But the music playing by the town folk was more clearly from where was he was.
"Fuck off brat" he mutter as his hands awkwardly put one his hand on your small waist. His eyes avoiding your eyes, his ears were particularly glowing red like his eyes. But it wouldn't take anyone else to see that with how the torches light up this section was.
You couldn't help but smirk, sensing his resistance crumbling. "Oh, come on, old man!" you teased, your voice filled with playful confidence. His face curled into a annoyance,as he grunts at your comment about how his old.He hand on your waist was slipping out of your touch. As you gently grabbed it from him, putting ut back where it supposed to be at.Looking at him with a plea.
"Just one dance won't kill you. It's not like you have anything better to do, anyway." You leaned closer to him, your body subtly swaying to the rhythm of the distant music. He got silent and let you control his movements.
His body matches your movements in such a flow of that of a water flow;his stern expression staring at your eyes.Making eye contact the moon light shining against your face making you seem like a angel in his presence.
Your breath felt mingle with his; your mind felt hypnotize with his red orbs staring at you. Those eyes were placing a spell on you, your heart skipping a beat. He really was as terrifying as he was beautiful; it was scary how he was able to take your breath away just like this. The villagers were right he was a devil, but a beautiful one at best.
His calloused hand felt firm yet gentle on your back, guiding you through the dance. His heart racing; warmth spreading through out his body.
The music played on, its gentle cadence intertwining with the rhythm of his movements. The villagers saw a ruthless warrior, but you witnessed the subtle fragility held within the depths of his intense eyes.
His movements, though initially hesitant, became more fluid and confident. He twirled you like a princess, a sly smile gracing his lips.
You couldn't help but chuckle, feeling a mix of joy and anticipation. As he bent you backward, your hair danced freely in the gentle breeze, and your heart skipped a beat. His arms held you securely, as if he was willing to catch you forever.
Sukuna held you there, his face close against yours. The world seem to pause for you and for him. The music that was playing barely even noticed. All that could be heard was their hearts beating. There eyes attached onto each other.
“Arent you full of tricks,Sukuna” You say almost breathlessly.pausing to catch your breath. As sukuna eyes gazes down at your soft lips. “I guess . . I am” he whispers like it was the only way to speak.
Your lips form a full heart felt smile, “But being a Old man isnt”. You whispers right back to him; getting a laugh from sukuna. He smirking at you, replying back to. “But an immortal”. He says with proud smile. You were quiet for a few seconds before bursting into laughter, the force making him lose his grip and dropping you onto the ground. That obviously didnt make you stop laughing.
Mocking him with the stupid words he just said. He grumbled at that,Crossing his arms.
⋆˙⟡
His red orbs glaring down at the koi fishes. They body swam apart, and going their separate ways. He sighed tiredly.
“My second wishes would've been for us to have immortality together”
have a great day.

Imagine König who just got home from a mission. He is so tired and all he wants is hot meal and shower. It's Christmas time and it's snowing heavily. His jacket is completely wet and his toes are freezing in his shoes. He used to love Christmas when he was a kid. He loved the atmosphere, the food and even the snow.
But now he is overwhelmed and he fells like a Grinch. When another strong wind hits him in the face he's done. König walks into the first door he sees and he walks in your bakery. It a quiete place, only few other people there talking to each other, or reading their books. When he slowly approaches the bar he sees you.
You're standing behind the register with a smile on your face looking like and angel. You wear cute pink apron and Santa's hat. He orders coffee, black without sugar. He gives you a good tip and you thank him with the sweetest voice he has ever heard.
When he sits you bring him his order. You give him his coffee and two christmas cookies. You tell him that he looks like he need them. Something sweet will make his day better. König thanks you but he knows that no matter how much sugar you put in those cookies, they never be sweeter than you.
When he tastes the cookie he is amazed. They taste exactly like the ones his grandmother made him when he was a kid. He thought he would never taste anything like that. He immediately orders 5 more and when you bring him his cookies he asks you, where did you get the recipe.
Since the bakery is almost empty you sit next to him. You tell him how your grandmother was from Austria and she thought you all of her recipes. König stays with you until the closing time. He helps you clean and close the bakery. You give him another batch of cookies as a thank you.
When he offers to walk you home your more than happy to not walk in the dark alone. When you reach your apartment building you ask him if he wants to go up with you. So he can taste another recipe you're working on. And König thinks there is nothing better that to spent the evening with you. And when he finally leaves your apartment the next morning he knows that he still believes in Christmas miracle.

hi friends! 👋🏻
i am here with my little 2024 gif wrapped after being tagged by @jkvjimin, @cordiallyfuturedwight, @yooboobies, @taehyunghobi, @jinstronaut, and @btsjk-biased. i didn't expect so many tags, so i appreciate you all for including me and wanting to see me recollect some of the work i shared this year. i'll do so under the cut and leave comments wherever i see fit.
i've seen a couple different ways people have done this, so i'll do a variation of both. i'll list my favorite vs. most popular set per each month + some honorable mentions that i liked or were particularly proud of. feel free to go show any of the mentioned posts some love just as i plan to do with everyone else's some time after i post this!
JANUARY
my favorite - vmin holding hands ↳ because i'm Me and they are insufferable
most popular - thankful taehyung
honorable mentions - jimin at home, koo sprout
FEBRUARY
my favorite - jikook...playing? ↳ i was mostly just continuing to test out panning gifs when i made this, but i liked it a lot because what the fuck is wrong with jimin
most popular - blue & grey yoongi in vegas
honorable mentions - hobi backstage, exhausted jimin
MARCH
my favorite - bts debut solo albums as iphones ↳ this was the most labor intensive set i'd made probably since the first set in my social media series (aka the instagram feed...part two next year? i've already outlined the templates but hobi is holding me back) and mayhaps the most disappointing as far as steady engagement goes. it dropped off pretty fast and it really killed my spirit ngl...but we ball. i appreciate everyone who wrote really nice things in the tags <3
most popular - fri(end)s
honorable mentions - fri(end)s live film
APRIL
my favorite - vmin stretching
most popular - favorite jungkook smiles ↳ i think this was requested by an anonymous person, but it sat in my drafts for many months and i thought "oh this could be an endless series for all the tannies if i'm ever running low on comp ideas". then i finally published it on a slow day and just never made another one. maybe some day lol
honorable mentions - ethereal jungkook, rawr xD jungkook
MAY
i didn't post anything in may. actually, everything i posted in april was an old draft because i took a break during april and may (in other words: i ran away with my tail between my legs after the iphone set lmaooo)
JUNE
my favorite - life goes on vmin self-cam ↳ act surprised. i can't believe they let this sit on a hard drive for four years and then dumped it on me out of no where during festa, are you fucking crazy
most popular - jimin being small and cute
honorable mentions - smeraldo garden marching band, dino wrists jungkook
JULY
my favorite - jungkook knows he's cute ↳ i also posted the before and after coloring of this because...girl 😭
most popular - taehyung filling the room with negative energy ↳ i would see that video edit all the time and was like...i need this as big gifs. lowkey the quality kinda slays
honorable mentions - ytc in busan jimin
AUGUST
my favorite - happy birthday jeon jungkook ↳ in my timezone his birthday starts at 8am on august 31st, so that's why i include this with august because it appears within that month in my archive. anyway this was fun and experimental and i'm glad i got it out of my system since i always wanted to try the google theme. i ended up merging it into the social media series because of the templates, but that was clearly a stupid move because if something says happy birthday in the caption people tend to abruptly stop reblogging it when the birthday is over so... 🤡
most popular - jimin struggling in connecticut
honorable mentions - sunscreen jungkook, giggly jikook, raggedy brothers, vmin in jeju
SEPTEMBER
my favorite - maknae line sharing tae's glasses
most popular - park "believable ass" jimin
honorable mentions - jikook on the train, maknae line love gestures, jungkook being cussed out by jimin
OCTOBER
my favorite - happy birthday park jimin ↳ another birthday flop but it's so cute
most popular - vmin in the car
honorable mentions - jikook clowning in the barracks
my recap stops there as i have nothing to show for november and december (with the exception of the yeontan tribute set and what i'll be posting for tae's birthday) as i stopped giffing at the end of october.
you can take a look back at everything else i made in my archive here :)
i don't know what the new year will hold for me as far as posting content goes, but thank you very much to those who never stopped supporting my work this year and the last four years since i started this blog. i've had a lot of feelings this year about my place as a gifmaker here and i've struggled a bit reckoning with the low engagement despite how much i know my work is loved by those who matter and never fail to let me know. i am working on reminding myself of this and i offer the same sentiment to anyone else experiencing the same feelings. you all deserve 100x more than what you get back.
for now though, my queue is gonna continue posting for me for a while. if i can get myself out of this funk by the time bts comes back, then i hope to provide whatever i can when the time feels right.
i think nearly everyone has been tagged to do this by now, but i’ll tag (unless you’ve already done it, just lmk or ignore me) @jung-koook, @kimtaegis, @btsiu, @namchyoon, @kookjinnies, @rjshope and whoever else wants to do this, please do and forward it to me or put it in my tracked tag so i can reblog it!
i love you all. happy new year 💜

unvirgin | chapter 6
warnings: suggestive, people being mean again
(written + smau)
you’re driving back to your apartment after you finished your class. you have 2 hours to get ready and you need to look good. you quickly jump in the shower to shave and take off all that school stench off of you.
after two hours you check how you look in the mirror and you feel good. wearing the two piece outfit your friends voted on that consisted of a tight miniskirt that matched the cropped jacket you had and platform heels because who are you without your heels?
you rush out the door and make your way to the library after you notice you’re 5 minutes late. at least you’ll be fashionably late! you walk into the library searching for the black haired boy and when you do you smile walking your way over. tapping jeno on his shoulder he turns around startled.
“sorry i’m late” you whisper giving him an apologetic smile. “i-it’s fine don’t worry” he whispers before clearing his voice his eyes looking everywhere but you. you giggle at his nervous state before sitting in the empty seat next to him. you noticed he looked good really good…why? well he’s wearing the number 1 kitty cat defeater. gray sweatpants and a matching hoodie.
“so what did you need help with?” jeno asks softly not to bother others around. “everything” you groan “i swear math is my worst enemy” he chuckles at your words. “okay let’s start from the beginning of the topic we’re currently learning” he says as he takes out a stack of textbooks from his bag causing your jaw to drop.
your reaction makes him giggle which in return causes you to pout. “stop laughing at my pain” you mutter. you prepare mentally and physically for the time you’ll be spending here.
30 minutes in your brain is hurting and you’re completely frustrated. you begin working on a problem jeno gave you until your ears pick up a conversation behind you “omg did you see y/n with jeno?” one voice says “omg yeah i bet she’s trying to get into his pants” the other voice replies with a giggle. you can’t blame them you have a reputation, but it doesn’t give them the right to talk about you like that. “she’s such a fucking slut. poor jeno” the first voice says.
jeno notices your mood change and the conversation behind him. “i heard she fucked the principal and that’s why she’s here” they just kept going. they were wrong the reason you even got into this university was because you (kinda) tried in high school. don’t get you wrong you never studied or anything you just did the bare minimum and that got you a 3.4 gpa.
your friends wondered what happened since then and it’s just because you lost motivation and wanted to have more fun, but look where that landed you. you get up from your seat causing jeno to look at you confused and worried. you give him a smile “i’ll be right back” you state before you walking over to where those girls were.
seeing you in front of them made them shocked “what? you can talk shit about me behind my back why not in my face” you raise your brow waiting for them to respond. they just look at each other before one of them finally speaks up. “w-well it’s not like we’re wrong! look at yourself you dress like a prostitute” she spits out. the other girl taps her friend and points somewhere behind you. you turn around confused and see jeno.
“what’s going on here?” he asks. both the girls in front of you begin to stutter “n-nothing” “nothing at all! we’re just talking about how much we love y/n’s outfit” you roll your eyes at their words. jeno just hums in response before grabbing your arm and taking you back to your table. “anyways let’s continue our tutoring. don’t let anyone distract you.” he says giving you back your pencil.
you sigh before continuing solving the equations given.
2 hours pass and you’ve grown tired. “do you think we can stop for today?” you ask letting out a yawn. jeno chuckles before nodding. “oh i forgot to ask earlier but what would you want in return for you helping me? money, food or something else? i’m okay with doing anything” you turn to him. jeno ponders seeing if there is anything you could possibly help or do for him.
“can- no never mind that’s too embarrassing to ask for” he says blushing and looking away. this interests you a lot and makes you wonder. “just ask i already said id do anything” you say softly somewhat implying something. “i-i can’t” he stutters his nervousness makes you grin. you place a hand on his thigh to “comfort” him and it causes him to flinch. “jeno you can tell me” you pout tilting your head. he looks at the hand on his thigh then up at you.
“i have no experience…in you know” he mutters because you could hardly hear him you lean in closer “repeat what you said louder” he looks at you all flustered which makes something purr and it’s definitely not your pet cat at home. “can you h-help me um” he groans “take your time baby” you giggle. his ears perk up at the nickname you didn’t even realize you said.
“can you um unvirgin me?” he says softly looking at you with a vulnerable expression. you can’t help but giggle “unvirgin? seriously?” he looks at you embarrassed. “jeno are you sure? wouldn’t you want to save something like that for someone special?” you giggle again “i have no experience and everyone around our age has at least done it once and all my friends tease me” he looks at you with a pleading gaze.
“fine. i’ll unvirgin you, but only if i pass a math test. just so that’ll give you time to think this through” you stand up. jeno quickly nods before standing up as well and walking you to your car. “u-uh ill text you about our next session” he stutters slightly which makes him want to punch himself. you nod before driving off.

Never Have I Ever, Drinking Game.
Summary: Eddie and Steve confess their feelings for each other in a fun drinking game. fluff, happy ending.
Words: 2,767
ao3 link | dividers by @strangergraphics
Eddie was placing a six-pack of beer on the old but sturdy table in the corner of the caravan, smiling at Steve as he did. "Beers are ready. Even if Robin doesn’t show up, our night won’t be ruined," he said with a teasing tone in his voice.
Steve, slouched in a worn but comfortable armchair in the corner of the caravan, was running his hands through his hair and whining. "I mean, seriously... She didn’t even say why she’s not coming! She just sent a message: ‘I can’t make it today, have fun.’ What does that even mean? I don’t get it!"
Eddie chuckled softly as he opened one of the packs on the table. "Oh, it means that sometimes people change plans. Sad but true. But hey, at least we’ve got a perfect excuse to watch a cheesy horror movie tonight. Plus pizza... That’s non-negotiable."
The interior of the caravan was lit by the warm, slightly yellow glow of Eddie’s lamp. Sitting in the armchair, Steve threw his hands up in exasperation and kept talking. "We were supposed to be three tonight. Like a group. A dynamic trio, you know?"
"Three people, two people, what’s the difference?" Eddie said as he sat at the table and popped open one of the beer bottles. "Be honest, Steve. You’re not really upset about Robin not coming tonight. The real issue is, who’s going to comfort you during those dumb jump scares in the horror movie?"
Steve rolled his eyes and grabbed a beer. "You’re ridiculous. Horror movies don’t scare me."
At that moment, Eddie pulled out an old VHS tape from the cabinet above, holding it up in the air. The cover was worn, and the faded label read “Night of Darkness 3” in scrawled letters. "Are you ready, Harrington? This movie was voted the worst horror film of all time. It’s so bad that people cover their eyes out of secondhand embarrassment."
Steve groaned. "If it’s that bad, why are we even watching it?"
"Because there’s an art to badness." Eddie grinned as he slid the VHS into the player and adjusted a tangled pile of cables next to the TV.
The caravan filled with the bluish glow of the old TV’s flickering screen. Between Eddie’s loud laughter, Steve’s grumbling, and the dramatic music of the outdated horror film, the night slowly took shape.
Eddie rolled his eyes as he noticed Steve continuing to complain. Even the terrible horror movie playing on the TV wasn’t enough to distract Steve from Robin’s absence. Meanwhile, a slow grin spread across Eddie’s face. He had a brilliant idea. A perfect way to shut Steve up and have a little fun.
"Alright, Harrington, cut it out. We can’t let the night go to waste just because Robin’s not here. I’ve got a proposition for you," Eddie said, his grin impossible to hide.
Steve looked up at him, his expression skeptical. "What kind of proposition?"
Eddie got up, grabbed a handful of shot glasses from the table, and headed toward the kitchen. “We’re going to play a game,” he said without looking back. Opening the cupboard, he started pulling out various drinks: beer, whiskey, red wine, white wine, and a mixed cocktail. He brought them all to the table and began filling the shot glasses.
Steve frowned as he watched him. “What’s this? A drinking party?”
Eddie shook his head, laughing as he handled the bottles. “Much more than that, Harrington. This is a drinking game. It’s called Never Have I Ever. Here are the rules: We sit across from each other, raise our hands, and take turns saying something we’ve never done in our lives. If the other person has done it, they put a finger down and take a random shot from the table. You can’t choose what you drink—it’s all up to chance. Whoever runs out of fingers first loses. Got it?”
Steve squinted at him. “Alright, but… what if I put down all my fingers at once? Or keep picking the wrong glass?”
Eddie barely held back his laughter. “That’s the fun of it. Nobody wins, everyone loses. But at least we’ll laugh a lot. So, what do you say? Got the guts?”
Steve couldn’t resist Eddie’s challenge and crossed his arms. “I’m not scared of some dumb drinking game!”
Eddie grinned and gestured with both hands. “Hands up, Harrington. I’ll start: Never have I ever flown on a plane.”
Steve gave him an annoyed look. “Seriously? That’s your opening question?” Shaking his head, he put down one finger and grabbed a random shot. He had picked the cocktail. After taking a sip, he raised an eyebrow slightly. “What is this? A tropical candy?”
Eddie responded with laughter. “Oh, Harrington, this is just the beginning. Your turn. Be creative.”
Steve took a deep breath, shot Eddie a challenging look, and raised his hands again. “Alright… Never have I ever jumped onto a concert stage.”
Eddie’s grin froze for a moment. “Oh, clever. You’re targeting me on purpose, aren’t you?” Laughing, he put down a finger and took a shot. He’d picked the whiskey. After a sip, he raised his eyebrows and sniffed slightly. “Good one. But remember, when it’s my turn, I won’t hold back.”
The game picked up pace, laughter and drinks creating a cheerful rhythm that echoed through the caravan as they played.
Eddie, blending the burn of the alcohol with his laughter, was pleased to see Steve’s mood improving. Steve’s exaggerated expressions and muttered comments every time he put down a finger and reached for a random shot made Eddie laugh even harder.
Steve, a bit more relaxed, said, “Alright, my turn,” furrowing his brows as he thought. After a moment, he spoke with a sly grin on his face: “Never have I ever… played Dungeons & Dragons.”
Eddie’s eyebrows shot up, and then he dramatically lowered a finger. “Ah, Harrington. You and your ordinary life! But guess what? This only makes me stronger.” He picked a random glass and downed it quickly. When he realized it was wine, he scrunched up his face. “Wine? Seriously? Not my thing, man.”
Steve couldn’t help but laugh. Eddie raised his fingers again, signaling it was his turn. The mischievous grin on his face widened even more. “My turn. Never have I ever… been popular in high school.”
Steve’s laughter stopped abruptly, turning into a strangled groan at Eddie’s words. “Really, Eddie? That’s your move? Can’t you stop targeting me?” He lowered a finger and grabbed a shot glass from the table. This time, it was whiskey. As he sipped, his face twisted, but his defiant glare at Eddie didn’t waver. “You’re going to pay for that.”
Eddie leaned back in his chair, laughing. “Bring it on, Harrington. You’re terrifying me. Your turn.”
Steve thought for a moment with a cheeky grin before speaking. “Never have I ever… used a fake ID to get into a bar.”
Eddie burst into laughter again, reluctantly lowering another finger. “Alright, alright! I admit it, I’ve done it a few times. But for the record, I didn’t get caught.” He grabbed a random shot, relieved to find it was beer this time. “Looks like my luck’s turning around. But that won’t stop me from destroying you with my next confession.”
The game continued, the confessions becoming both funnier and a bit more personal. When Eddie said, “Never have I ever helped someone put gel in their hair,” Steve lowered another finger, rolling his eyes. “The fact that you make it sound like a crime is upsetting,” he retorted in mock indignation.
When Steve declared, “Never have I ever cried during a horror movie,” Eddie had to lower a finger. “But it was an emotional moment, okay? It happens in good movies!” he defended himself.
Eventually, both of them were down to their last finger. Eddie leaned back against the couch, smirking lightly as he looked at Steve. “One last move, Harrington. Make it count.”
Eddie’s chaotic yet cozy caravan was filled with the faint haze of alcohol, laughter, and gentle shaking from their movements. Steve leaned his head back against the couch, locking eyes with Eddie. Fueled by the alcohol and feeling the weight in his heart begin to lift, he sensed it was the right moment to let it out.
Eddie noticed the look on Steve’s face and smirked teasingly. “Harrington, judging by how hard you’re thinking, is your next move going to be that big? What are you hiding? Come on, let’s hear it.”
Steve took a deep breath, his eyes locked on Eddie’s bright, almost childlike but deeply expressive gaze, and began to speak. “Never have I ever… admitted to someone, especially someone, that I’m truly in love with them.”
Eddie’s laughter stopped abruptly. The sudden shift in mood left him staring at Steve in surprise. “Wow, that’s… that’s a big one, man. I mean, yeah, not the usual kind of thing to say during this game. But… solid move. So, in that case, I guess—”
Steve noticed Eddie trying to brush it off lightly and cut him off. “No, Eddie. I’m not done.”
That statement snapped Eddie’s full attention back to him. The determination in Steve’s expression cut through the air like a knife. Eddie, who had been casually slouched in his seat, straightened up and leaned slightly closer. “Alright, Harrington. I’m listening. Who’s the lucky person? Who’s got you all serious like this?”
Steve hesitated for a moment, studying Eddie’s slightly bewildered but curious face under the dim light of the caravan. It felt as if the rest of the world had disappeared, leaving just the two of them in a heavy silence. “That person...” Steve said, his voice slow but resolute. “That person is you, Eddie.”
Eddie froze in his seat, the weight of Steve’s words landing like a thunderclap. For a moment, he couldn’t speak. The sincerity in Steve’s eyes burned so intensely that Eddie knew instantly this wasn’t a joke.
“Harrington...” Eddie swallowed, searching for words. His face was a mixture of surprise, a faint smile, and a trace of confusion. “This… this is something you say in a drinking game? Or are you actually...”
Steve cut him off again, leaning in slightly. “Eddie, this isn’t a game. It’s not a joke. I’ve felt this way for a long time, but I didn’t know how to say it. Maybe I was scared. But now, here we are, and I have to tell you. Because I can’t keep it to myself anymore.”
Eddie just sat there, staring at Steve, clearly not expecting this kind of confession. Words seemed to elude him, an unusual occurrence for someone so quick-witted. His hands unconsciously gripped his glass tightly.
Steve grew uneasy at Eddie’s lack of response. “Eddie...” he said softly, almost timidly. “Say something, please. If… if this was a mistake or if it makes you uncomfortable...”
Eddie took a deep breath and finally spoke. “Hold on, Steve. This... I mean... are you serious? Really?” His voice wavered slightly, making him appear more vulnerable than Steve had ever seen.
Steve looked into Eddie’s eyes and, summoning every ounce of courage, nodded. “Yes, Eddie. I’m serious. But don’t you understand why it scared me so much to say this? You... you’re different. I never knew how to approach you. Because… what if you rejected me?”
Eddie was still in shock. He ran a hand through his hair and leaned back against the couch. “This... how long have you felt this way?”
Steve lowered his head slightly and sighed. “I don’t know. I can’t remember exactly when it started. But I think the first time I truly felt it was when we were walking and talking together in that damn Upside Down. Watching you, I thought... this guy is someone special. It was hard to admit how I felt at that moment. Because… because you’re the complete opposite of everything I am.”
Eddie let out a sarcastic laugh, but it was nothing more than an attempt to mask his astonishment. “And that’s why you said nothing? Seriously, Steve? God...” He paused for a moment, then averted his gaze from Steve and added, “You know what’s ironic? I’ve... I’ve had feelings for you since high school.”
Steve’s face froze entirely. “What?” he whispered in disbelief. “Eddie, are you... are you serious?!”
Eddie rolled his eyes, though it was just another way to cover up his shyness. “I’m serious, Harrington. But you, Steve Harrington, were the King of Hawkins High. Popular, handsome, the guy everyone chased after. And who was I? A ‘freak,’ the outcast kid. How could I have said anything to you?”
Hearing Eddie’s words, Steve almost flinched as though in pain. “But Eddie… you… how did I not see it? God, I wish I had been braver.”
Eddie shook his head, a bittersweet smile playing on his lips. “If you couldn’t be brave, neither could I. Because I felt the same fear. The fear of losing you. Even when there was the slightest hint of friendship between us, I didn’t want to risk it. And… tonight, when Robin didn’t come, I realized being alone with you scared me. Because I knew exactly how I’d feel.”
Steve became even more emotional at this confession. “That’s why I was a little nervous today, too. But Eddie... the fact that tonight started as just another game night has already made it one of the best moments of my life. Because now, I’m not hiding. And I’m not carrying the fear of losing you. No matter what, I had to tell you this.”
Eddie’s smile slowly faded as he gazed into Steve’s eyes. Steve’s eyes were glistening, fighting back tears. His lips quivered slightly. “Eddie... but what if... what if I made a mistake tonight? What if... what if I ruined everything?” he said, his voice cracking and low.
Eddie immediately grew serious, reaching out to take Steve’s hands in his own. “Hey, hey. Listen to me. This is not a mistake. It’s never a mistake. Everything you’ve said, everything you’ve felt, it’s all real. And I’m here. I’m right here with you.”
Steve nodded, taking a deep breath. “But I’m scared, Eddie. Even just sitting here with you... the possibility that everything could go wrong is killing me. Maybe… maybe I was too open.”
Eddie leaned in closer to Steve’s face, his brown eyes radiating a heartfelt warmth. “Steve Harrington, you are the bravest person in the world. What you did—opening your heart to me—is the biggest thing anyone could do. And know this: I feel the same way. We don’t have to rush this. But there’s one thing you need to know: everything is okay. You and me... this feels so much more right than you think.”
Steve, Eddie’s words seemed to calm him down a little, though he still couldn’t hide the emotional expression on his face. He smiled faintly, licking his lips for a moment before nodding. “So... Eddie, can I ask you something?”
Eddie raised his eyebrows slightly. “Of course. Ask away.”
Steve cleared his throat and spoke a bit shyly. “Who won the game?”
Eddie stayed silent for a moment, then smiled and shook his head. “We both did. Something far more important than any game.”
Steve paused at those words, then leaned in closer to Eddie. “Eddie... I... thank you. For accepting me like this, for seeing me for who I am.”
Eddie tilted his head gently and lightly touched Steve’s cheeks. “You don’t have to say that. I’ve already accepted everything about you long ago. And if you’ll let me... I’d like to try something.”
Steve’s eyes widened slightly, but he didn’t hesitate for even a second before nodding. “I’ll let you.”
Eddie smiled softly as he leaned toward Steve. The distance between them gradually disappeared, their breaths mingling. And finally, Eddie’s lips brushed against Steve’s. It was a kiss that felt soft, gentle, and like the beginning of everything.
After the kiss, Eddie pulled back slightly and murmured with a smile, “I’ve been waiting for that for a long time.”
Steve, still looking slightly stunned and bashful, gazed at him with a wide smile on his face. “I should’ve done this sooner.”
Eddie couldn’t hold back his laughter, shaking his head. “Maybe now was the right time. But you know what, Harrington? This is a pretty good start.”
And in the dim light of the trailer, an old horror movie played in the background. But tonight, neither of them cared to watch. They were about to star in their own movie.

"Yudai where are you taking me?" You asked genuinely curious about your boyfriend's intentions. He just told you to dress up pretty because he has a surprise for you and now you're sitting next to him in his car looking at the passing streets beside you as chirstmas decorations light up everything that's covered by the night sky's darkness.
"You'll know soon" he answers and a minute later he's already parking the car. Then, being the gentleman he is, opens the car door for you and takes your hand in his while he starts walking.
After about five minutes or so you arrive to a place "Surprise!" You can hear your boyfriend basically singing the word. You look up above the entrance of the building where you see 'jazz bar' written. "They play Christmas songs today and I thought it would be a shame to miss it" his smile was so huge you don't think you've ever seen him smiling like that. Or at least you've never seen him smiling like that without him having a cup of dark coffee in one of his hands. "Do you like it?"
"I love it" you reassured him as you wrapped your arms around his waist giving him a warm hug that contrasts the cold air that took over the whole city.
Stepping in the bar you suddenly feel hot, happy that you can finally get rid of your coat that covered your elegant outfit. After getting your drinks you sat down to an empty table, just listening to the music, enjoying the moment and the Christmas vibes that filled the whole place.
"Would you like to dance with me?" Yudai suddenly asked while taking one if your hands in his own, giving a small kiss on your knuckles. After you gave him a small nod he led you to the place where some older people were slowly dancing to the iconic Christmas songs.
"This is my favourite!" You smiled at your boyfriend as soon as you heard the beginning of Michael Bublé's iconic song 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas'. Yudai mirrored your expression and pulled you closer to his chest.
"I love you so much" he spoke softly in your ears "I am so glad that I can spend Christmas with you for the first time. And this might sound cheesy, but I hope I can spend every following Christmas with you."
You smiled a little at his sudden confession "You're right, it does sound cheesy" you laughed feeling that his chest was also slightly shaking by laughing. "But I also hope that I can spend every Christmas with you from now on" then you stayed silent for a little while before opening your mouth again "and I love you too"
And the two of you continued to sway to the soft jazz music in the bar until you could barely stand anymore. Because those moments, when you can be alone with someone you love without anything from your world bothering, are the most precious. Those moments, when it's just you and him in your little bubble, even if that bubble is at a public space like a jazz bar, are the moments that worth the most for you. Usually you don't have a minute that you could spend together like this, getting lost in the music for hours, but at Christmas the whole world slows down for a few days and you too can slow down and be with someone you love so much only focusing on each other.
