⛓️ When art and life become one ⛓️
I believe fairy tales have a great deal of therapeutic power. And there's nothing quite like a good story.
As I’ve written here a few times before, I first started watching Outlander in 2020 – a challenging year for us all. At that time, we all needed a good story to take our minds off reality. And to move into the catharsis that art offers. You can imagine my excitement when I realised that two actors (who were so obviously in love) playing the characters in the story were born around the same time as the characters they were playing.
James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser, born on 1 May. Sam Roland Heughan, born on 30 April. Both Taurus, just like me. Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser, born on 20 October. Caitríona Mary Balfe, born on 4 October. Both Libra.
And, as you might expect, in both the play and real life, she is older than he is. Isn't it wonderful how things just fall into place sometimes? There’s always something to ponder, think about and enjoy.

But it's been a while since we've seen joy in "enjoy." The Taylor Swift concert is the exception that proves the rule, here.
I'm getting tired of the low-level storytelling we've been presented with for a while now. This story is the worst of the worst. It’s a pretty poor selection of C, D, and E cinema.
And it's pretty sad how two people, who literally built their relative public recognisability on being the 'hottest couple on the screen', are now pathetically role-playing their supposed 'real love lives'. And neither of them succeeds. They're also pretty weak actors in their roles of romantic lovers (I'm thinking mainly of Sam here). Let me just say that they're not pathetic only when they're together. *** *** *** When I saw the blurry, embarrassing footage from this weekend's Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic (tagged #ad on Sam's Instagram), my first thought was that it was a spectacle for us, our Tumblr fandom. There's no one else who would be interested in something you have to look for with a magnifying glass, zooming in, spending long minutes stopping frames of film. Then I got reminded about the Wimbledon Tennis Championships back in July 2019 and another poor performances by 'bride' and her 'groom' a month before their 'wedding'.
Do you remember those pictures?

First wife, second wife, Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser and Laoghaire MacKenzie, I mean, Evie Greenwood, a primary teacher.
You know, realism and art all blend together.
We first saw this kind of kissing being reduced to sucking on the partner's upper lip in what we were forced to think was Sam’s ‘real life’, and then we saw the same thing on screen.

And what about Sam's somewhat embarrassing performance in The Couple Next Door? Which other actor in that film has exposed themselves so much (and so pointlessly), in a literal sense?
How many of us thought Sam's performance in the erotic scenes in TCND was not sexy at all, but disgusting?
I did.
Wasn't that display of Sam's rhythmically moving buttocks as distasteful as his other performance a few weeks ago?
Seriously, I would never want my husband/partner/father of my children to behave like this. There's no money worth it. But maybe there is.
Sometimes I feel sorry for them, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I remind myself of how jealous Cait can be.
How on earth do they manage to live like that?

What do the Irish mean when they say someone’s getting notions? Is this a good thing? A bad thing? Inherently neutral but meant to imply risk-taking behavior? To my understanding notion is just a synonym for idea but it feels so loaded when I hear it used in context?
it's an insult.
if someone says you're getting/you have notions, they mean you're full of yourself [that you have notions of grandeur]. it's intended to embarrass you - by pointing out that you're not as clever or attractive or successful or sophisticated as you think you are - in an effort to take you down a peg or two.
the essential context is that we like to think of ourselves as an egalitarian people. this plays a profound role in the irish national psyche, and its impact is detectable across all levels of irish politics and society.
but it has both positive and negative impacts on the national character. and one of the key negative impacts is that the irish [especially older generations and especially in the republic, where a foundational civilisational myth is that society isn't stratified on the basis of class] have a profound and instinctive dislike for tall poppies. anything which deviates from the average, which makes you stand out in any way, or which is evidence of you adopting an "i must have the best" rather than a "that'll do" mindset is an example of notions and is fair game for mockery.
obviously, based on the context in which it's said and the relationship between the speakers, being told you've got notions can be a fond insult. and indeed it often is.
your friend who's been living in new york comes back and tells you about this magic, otherworldly thing they have there called a bodega? notions, it's a corner shop.
your friend insists on going on holidays to a cottage in the middle of nowhere because it will be "cosy" and "quaint" and then complains the whole time because there's no phone signal? notions, your mammy didn't need to be on her phone the whole time when she was young, ah now why don't you read a book.
your friend who's a snappy dresser?

notions.
it's also often just very funny as a generational divide, "irish boomers encounter modernity", "tis far from nduja you were reared" thing. i was at a wedding over the summer where the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom were jointly in disbelief at one of the bridesmaid's notions. the notions in question? she's vegan.
[other things i've heard described as indicating notions: drinking almond milk; visiting scandinavia; doing yoga; having a haircut; shopping at john lewis; buying an air fryer; having a ring doorbell; using a kindle; not taking milk in your tea; and taking a taxi.]
but while the concept of notions is generally fairly harmless, it can have a crueler "shut up and stop having ideas above your station" vibe, which ends up maintaining the forms of social stratification [things like class, race, gender, and of course religious background] we like to pretend we don't have...
i was at in the same year at school as a girl who was a traveller, an ethnic group which experiences massive discrimination in all parts of ireland.
there are two things to bear in mind here:
the first is that an offensive stereotype about travellers is that they're all stupid. the second is that two cultural practices travellers are often criticised for are rigid gender roles and a lack of interest in mainstream education.
these criticisms aren't always unreasonable and are often made by travellers themselves - many traveller girls are removed from school in their early teens, get married when they're still teenagers, and don't work outside the home - but there's nonetheless an entrenched commitment among settled communities to ignoring the other side of the coin - traveller pupils are excluded and expelled from school at disproportionate rates, funding for educational outreach among traveller communities is low, traveller communities are oppressed by the state and then criticised for not trusting it.
so you'd think - wouldn't you - that many settled people, including those who hold discriminatory views on travellers, would regard the fact that i had a classmate who was a traveller who loved school and eventually went to university and whose family was loving and supportive as a positive thing.
and you'd be incorrect. because apparently a young woman from a community an appalling number of irish are happy to think of as an underclass [just like the brits did to you, eh?] having the temerity to take exams and do well in them...
notions.

I like your discussion of Anthony's relationship with his sisters.
For Hyacinth, I have this image of Anthony at her wedding, breathing a sigh of relief. He got Hyacinth married and it didn't involve any of the Theatrics of their other siblings.
Imagine what he would do if he knew about all the breaking and entering & Mattress dancing the bride and groom have done?
Oh I have thoughts about that all right. But on a more serious note.
Anthony's relationship with his sisters is very sweet but also funny because he's at odds with all of them half the time and the other half he loves them to death.
With Daphne, he knew she was going to be the first one he'd have to step up for as a man of the house and she was born in more or less equal footing with him. First girl vs first boy when it comes to society expectations. There is a certain respect there that Anthony has for Daphne, and her womanly intuition. But I think Anthony for most of her life has treated her as an adult, I highly doubt that Anthony did much sugar coating with Daphne, she got to live most of her life in the role of his sister not his daughter and it shows in her relationship with him. The problem in their book was that Anthony at one point started worrying that Daphne wasn't as ready for marriage as she pretends to be and began to be a little bit overprotective over her specifically because of her adventures in the marriage mart. Which seriously weirded her out. And once she got married they went back to their usual relationship where they both respect each other's interests and leave each other largely alone. I'd also like to add that when it came to Daphne Anthony was hurt because he expected a little bit more of her since he always trusted her to be an adult and at one point Daphne was going something along the lines of ' well I'm not an adult, I'm not that mature, I'm just a girl' which really brought things into perspective for him
With Eloise the scene where they're talking things out into tspwl speaks volumes about their relationship. Because Eloise was stuck in the middle between being Anthony's sister and being treated as his daughter, which she never wanted and really rebelled against, both of them wanted to have a sibling relationship and both of them knew they couldn't have it because she was entirely too young when Edmund died and needed a father figure. but she resented that it has to be Anthony, she resented at her playful brother had to grow up too soon and now couldn't play with her, because she simply wanted Anthony to be the guy he used to be before their dad died. So she antagonized Anthony just to be contrary and have her fun. Also she is the sibling who is the most like him, prideful arrogant, I lay the law kind of person. So Anthony was sort of worried for her because he knew she was a lot like him and eventually she would chaff at the weight of the Bridgerton name, he just didn't know if he could protect her from the consequences, so when she ran away to meet Philip he probably had a little bit of a heart attack because he expected something crazy to happen to Eloise at some point he just couldn't prepare for this particular eventuality. Also I think it was a welcome surprise for Anthony to see that his most stubborn sister had actually grown up and was ready to become the leader he always knew she could be, he just never thought that and all this happened while he wasn't looking.
I think that Anthony's relationship with Francesca is the sweetest one, because unlike Eloise and Daphne, Francesca never actually made Anthony feel like a failure which he often felt like with his other two sisters. But Francesca she played by the rules, she never gave Anthony any trouble she was smart, a little bit sneaky, always there to welcome him with warmth, at home or in Scotland, sometimes you just have that sibling who is a healing to the soul. And I think Francesca was that for Anthony, perhaps that's why she fell through the cracks because she never complained and that made Anthony think that she was happy. I think in his younger years Anthony would just spend time with Francesca because he wanted to be with someone who was just always happy to see him, since everyone else seemed to have all these expectations and demanded so much attention, but not Francesca, she was calm and good and she understood when he couldn't give her as much attention as he gave everyone else. And because he loves her so much I think he also feels very guilty that he missed out on a lot of important things in her life and wasn't there for her when she was passing through her worst moments and he feels grateful to Michael that he made her smile again because to Anthony Francesca is special, out of all his crazy siblings, she's the one he probably likes the most and the only one he's willing to look the other way for. I'm pretty sure that Anthony did find out what happened in Scotland, and he pretended that he didn't know because she's his favorite and he doesn't want to have this conversation with her Anthony has never had to seriously scold Francesca for anything in her life and he doesn't want to start now ( at most he told her off for not inviting him to her second wedding and that was it. )
And then we have Hyacinth, she's practically Anthony's daughter so she is more babied than anyone else, I think Anthony spoiled her too much, and at the end he realized that he had to let her grow up make her own mistakes even if that meant he would have to eventually deal with a scandal (because of course she's wild and stubborn like Eloise but with Daphne and Francesca's social charm). Letting his baby grow up also meant setting her loose to find her own path. And let her be the' joy' of other unsuspecting individuals like Lady Danbury and Gareth for a change.
And that's the tea

good morning!! I see your backstory ask post and I would love to hear more about the bridgerton AU or extraordinary love!! Whatever you want to say about them. they are faves of mine!! ❤️ thank youuuuuuu
You get both as I try to decide if I can swing something for Shikatema month and prep for Nejiten month! Perfect timing, I actually just re-read these two last night looking for inspiration!
ask about the backstory for one of my fics!
send shivers down my spines: I wrote all the Nejiten story and separately wrote all of Lady Whistledown as one cohesive letter, and then decided where I wanted to place each of her gossipy interjections. That was neat to explore as a writing device because I had room to expand upon the world and add a little more flavor (like detailing Naruhina’s relationship and my obligatory background Shikatema mention) without feeling like I had to do it all from Tenten’s POV, which would have detracted from the core of this story: Tenten being horny for Neji.
Another fun part of writing this was casting what role each character would play! Coding Neji as Simon was easy — deciding to split Daphne between Tenten and Hinata then seemed natural; the premise of having sex in the library comes from Daphne and Simon, but it felt disingenuous to her character for Tenten to be the diamond of the season. My personal favorite analog is Tsunade and Queen Charlotte, which also felt like a duh decision given their roles in society, but I liked the nod to Tenten wanting to impress Tsunade.
I solemnly swear to never refer to Tenten’s junk as “nethers” again lmao. I usually can’t stand that one, but it felt appropriate for the piece. And I can’t talk about this fic without bringing up the dom Neji agenda! Who’s going to tell the head of the house he can’t give head anywhere he wants in his house?? Definitely not Tenten, and apparently not any of their house staff. I’ve spent some time considering what a dom Neji might look like since your initial comment on the fic, so he might make a stronger appearance in another work — yay and thanks for putting the bug in my ear!
extraordinary love: “Temari knows damn well why a stupid social construct like her nonexistent virginity matters. Back in the day of arranged marriages, the whole thing was more of a business deal. The wannabe groom would have to pay more to his bride’s family in exchange for her hand in marriage if she was pure. Virgin brides from influential families were high dollar items. Temari’s family is influential enough. But now that the matter of virginity is off the table… this barter is looking more like the Sand seeking retribution against the Leaf than tit for tat. If her marriage is blessed, they’ll probably stipulate Shikamaru move to Suna instead of the opposite, which is not what Temari and Shikamaru decided on. In the most drastic worst case scenario, like Kankuro said, their engagement (or the knowledge that said engagement has been consummated on a number of occasions) might be seen as an act of war. They’ll stick Shikamaru’s stupid, handsome face in a bingo book with shoot to kill orders.”
This premise is the heartbeat of the story. What does it look like when your personal values don’t align with those of everyone else around you? How do we respond when well-intended people stick their nose in our business and give an opinion we never asked for? Combined with fan theories/headcanons that Shikadai was a pre-wedding pregnancy — and that’s an interesting concept to me, especially considering what that might have looked like for Temari and Shikamaru if they were still long distance or abruptly decided not to be (and the parallel to Mirai and Kurenai and Asuma, of course, which I didn’t hit in this story because Temari wasn’t actually pregnant) — everything fell into place.
Making the call to write from Temari’s POV was exciting but scary because she’s so Particular, you know? But this story needed to come from her because of what it is, and it’s about Temari’s agency: she gets to decide who she marries, and whose baby she has, and she gets to decide when those things happen. And then I got to actually write her being in love (which I’m eager to try again), and I love the energy of Temari being like “Look how impressive my fiancé is! I made a good choice! I’m trying really hard to make you approve of him!” and Shikamaru being like “Yeah, what she said!” Because Shikamaru understands that as far as Suna’s customs and culture go, he doesn’t have a dog in that race, he IS Temari’s underdog in the race.
I’m honestly proud of this fic because I know I just made it sound really serious in terms of themes etc., but it ultimately is a comedy, and anyone who has ever done comedy can speak to how difficult of a skill it is to learn and hone. One of the things that makes comedy work well is that the characters have to take everything seriously and respond sincerely, now matter how ridiculous or grandiose their circumstances or responses may be. Temari even says from the beginning of this story that she knows she has the Kazekage on her side, but she panics a little because of her circumstances and takes matters into her own hands, and she doesn’t relinquish that control until shenanigans have ensued and Gaara finally reminds his sister that his support of her was never in question. (I’m not sure how I feel about my iterations of Gaara and Kankuro individually or overall, but I do like their scenes with Temari as siblings and their consistency.)
Side note: the reception of this story gave me the confidence to write chapter 15 of Reliance the way it panned out!
(also, I’m late, what’s new, lesbian nejiten is coming i promise)
#char chats#thank you for asking!#not sure if this is what you were looking for! trust i can say more#this just got long lol#naruto#neji hyuga#tenten#nejiten#temari#shikatema#shikamaru nara

So I wrote a review/analysis of Revolutionary Girl Utena on letterboxd and my friend told me I should post it on here, so here it is. I'll put the link to the review and I'll also paste it under the read-more for convenience.
This is my 3rd watch and boy do I have a lot of feelings. I really recommend people to read the Palace Perspective on archivesofourown.org. It's a very in-depth essay about the deeper themes of the show.
Anthy Himemiya is probably one of my favourite characters of all time. She's just a girl. She's been here from the start. She's not really here. She's an awkward teenager. She's at the centre of the world. She's a bird in a cage. She's an allegory for all the ways women suffer under patriarchy. From the first episode, before we know the truth of the rose bride, we see her be blamed anytime something bad happens to a male character. On the first watch she's seems to not have much personality, but once you have a better understanding of her and what she's been through she (and subsequently the show itself) becomes so much more interesting. You notice all the ways she exercises her agency, mostly to fuck with Nanami, and that's important! Because that's the point of the ending, nothing changed, there was no revolution. Anthy didn't suddenly become more powerful, Utena just showed her that she was worth being saved and so she saved herself. I'm going to give Akio a (rare) break and say he's not the one that started calling Anthy a witch, however he is the one that kept her in that coffin through abuse and manipulation and continually scapegoated her.
Akio is also interesting. For all intents and purposes, he was once a victim himself. Though it's debatable how much of the Himemiya's backstory is just metaphor, it seems he was once put on a pedestal and made to live up to impossible standard. But when he couldn't meet them, Anthy took the fall for him. Ever since then he's been stuck trying to regain his glorious past, and keeping Anthy stuck with him. Akio is the most miserable motherfucker, despite being the one with the most power. Probably because he surrounds himself with teenagers he grooms, and never makes any meaningful connection with anyone despite the respect he clearly has from other adults. In the end he's the one who is the most stuck in his coffin. He refuses to heal from the pain others caused him in the past, so all he can do is perpetuate the cycle and keep everyone else trapped. He talks a big game about wanting to "revolutionise the world" but when Utena was on the verge of making real changes, he panicked and tried to stop her.
Utena is a lot smarter than what people give her credit for. The cantarella scene, the rooftop scene, she does realise the harm she's caused Anthy without meaning to. She realises the duels are inherently harmful because they keep Anthy in her role of rose bride and at Akio & the duelists' mercy. The reveal in episode 34 is so important because it shows that it wasn't really about becoming a prince, it was about saving Anthy. It was always about saving Anthy. Utena was simply told that the way to save Anthy was to become a prince, but someone who believes in the system of princes, princesses, and witches cannot save Anthy. That's why Akio was never able to open the rose gate. All Utena had to do was hold out her hand, both literally and figuratively.
Nanami is also underestimated quite often I think. She's easy to dismiss in the beginning, just another anime mean girl with a big brother complex. However, as the show unfurls, you see how she plays into the show's themes. In many ways, Touga and Nanami are a future Akio and Anthy. You see then how Touga feeds into her brother complex purposefully to control her, especially when she distances herself and his advances become more explicit. Nanami being a parallel to Anthy is crucial in showing the cyclical nature of violence in RGU and how abusive behaviour is taught and passed down to the next generation. Even the "filler" episodes show her as an animal raised to be slaughtered and consumed by Touga, her fear of being alienated from Touga and how her whole sense of self centers around being Touga's little sister.
I could go on, every character in the show is so interesting. The ways they uphold patriarchal ideas, the ways they don't. How they all try to fit into this prince-princess-witch system and it hurts all of them, but still does more harm to the girls because it strips them of their agency. How that system prevents real love from flourishing, because it forces relationships with uneven power dynamics. To finish, big love to the Shadow Girls, the best modern take on the greek chorus I've ever seen. Always throwing shade (pun intended) at the characters in the most cryptic ways possible, except when they called Akio a miserable bastard to his face.

Kuchen (Yumekuro) - Happiness-Filled Marriage - Moon and Sun
warning: this post is really long. Sorry for that lol.
warning 2: if you don't wanna read all this and you're not sure which story you wanna unlock (moon or sun), don't be misled by moon's CG. It's Kuchen we are talking about after all ^^ And I'm not gonna recommend the best skill for this card cuz I sincerely don't know which one is best.

MAIN STORY
I think I posted something about all of kuchen's cards, so obviously I'd give a summary + impressions for this one as well :D
I didn't read the main event (and Idk if I'll have time to do so), but we see Kuchen and MC talking about this promotion event they will organize. The siblings will be responsible for the event's menu.
Kuchen looks fucking amazing in his tuxedo (but when doesn't he look hella fine? xD) while he is reading a pamphlet about marriage and wedding ceremony. He and MC will pretend to be a groom and a bride to try to understand the customers' needs.
Later that day, MC helped Kuchen to decide what he would do for dessert for this event. He wanted to do something special for the couples. Kuchen clearly doesn't know/understand what is the big deal about wedding ceremonies, but as he accepted this challenge, he will give his all.
While MC was helping him, she was self-conscious that she liked Kuchen. But she didn't say anything to Kuchen and proceeded to help him get the job done.
On the next day, MC said she talked to her married seniors about their opinion of what marriage was like. Kuchen said that this will help him to get a better idea of what to do for this promotion event.
I just love how Kuchen seems unimpressed about marriage hahahah. What a stoic non-romantic boy. But well, it makes sense as he never felt in love before. I don't think he dated either.
Once MC's dress was finished, MC and Kuchen, dressed as bride and groom to spend part of their day doing activities that would be available to the couples. Kuchen was super nice to MC and although he is not interested in those types of events, it looked like he had fun with MC there.
Days passed by, and Kuchen finally finished his dessert + gift to the couples. I think it looked like a box with a flower on it and chocolates that had different tastes.
PS: we also had a chance to see the 3 brothers interacting in this event and it was super cute <3
MOON END
It's the promotion event day and everything is ready. But, kuchen and MC find out through one of the staff that the model who was going to work in the church event as the bride couldn't attend the ceremony. She was supposed to walk down the aisle with the groom model that was also hired to try to recreate a tradtional wedding.
I'm gonna be honest, I didn't understand why they wanted to perform a wedding ceremony for people to see. What was the point? I wonder if they are just trying to attract more couples to marry in that church or something.
Anyway, as you can expect, they asked MC to be the bride, as she already has the dress and she is involved in this promotion event for couples.
She accepts it, even though she doesn't know exactly what she has to do. As the menu is all ready, her job with the guild is done.
But she asks the staff member if it's ok to invite Kuchen to be the groom because she is a bit anxious and she doesn't know the model who is going to perform with her. Kuchen accepts it.
Later that day, we see Kuchen and MC waiting in one of the church's rooms. They are both dressed again in their groom and bride outfits.
Kuchen was super sweet and he brought a hot chocolate for MC noticing she was nervous with this whole acting thing.
After drinking her hot chocolate, they both head to the church to play their roles. Everything proceeded smoothly. They 'got married' and then walked to the main door. Once they crossed the church's hall, Kuchen stopped next to the entrance door.
Out of the blue, he got closer to MC and kissed her softly. I was not expecting to see that in this game to be honest hahahah. But they didn't show the kiss, just Kuchen leaning to kiss her while she had already closed her eyes.
At first, I was not sure if they did kiss, but yeah, that actually happened. After they left the church, Kuchen asked MC if she was mad at him. She didn't say she hated it or liked it. But she was confused, to say the least. She likes Kuchen so it was a a bittersweet moment.
Even after he noticed MC was shocked by what he did, he just played it cool. His excuse to kiss MC is that he wanted to see her reaction and that he read in a wedding pamphlet that kissing the bride model after leaving the church was kinda trendy or a tradition recently, so he wanted to recreate that or at least give MC this experience. Oh, he also said that she talked a lot that marriage can represent a future with your significant other, so he said maybe he thought it would be nice if one day she is part of this future.
SUN END
MC was helping Kuchen to decorate the plates and the sweets. He gave her good pieces of advices while she was working with him.
Then, she had to get dressed because they had to role-play as groom and bride for the couples in the event.
At the 'ceremony' they had to cut a cake just like in a real wedding. It was really cute that part.
Kuchen spoon-fed MC first and obviously, she blushed (I lost count of how many times she did that in this story). When it was her turn, she gave Kuchen a big piece of cake and I guess he had a hard time eating it, but it was hilarious. Silly, but hilarious.
The event was a success, the couples were excited to taste Kuchen's chocolates and they loved the gift boxes they prepared for them.
When MC was just getting ready to change into her normal clothes, she saw some staff women hitting on Kuchen in the corridor. They wanted his number/personal info to know each other better, if you know what I mean ahahah. Kuchen seemed uninterested and annoyed. We didn't see his reply cuz MC left before she could hear what he would say.
Alone in the garden where they organized the event, she was just thinking about what Kuchen may have said to these women. She was curious, but she didn't want to pry. Also, she is sad because she likes him, so it hurts to see 'your' man in that situation.
Kuchen appears out of nowhere. He offers her some chocolate. It was those 5 boxes gifts they gave to the couples. MC was gloomy, but she did her best to try to hide her feelings. Obviously, it didn't work.
Trying to tease MC again, Kuchen put a choco in her mouth. The thing was that he also put the other half of the choco in his mouth as well. You know, that game to try to eat the food to see if they will kiss or not XD.
It was not very clear, but from what I understood, they didn't kiss. I think MC stopped when she was really close to Kuchen's lips.
After teasing her, he noticed she was not worried anymore. Also, he confirmed to her that he saw her in the corridor earlier. It was impossible not to notice her with such a dress.
MC didn't confess her feelings, but she felt way better having exchanged those moments with him. Also, he said to her that he had a great time and that he actually felt during this whole event that they were a groom and a bride.
MY OPINION
Listen, I love Kuchen, he is my fav character, but I think that whole (I like Kuchen) was a bit forced/unexpected. I got all Kuchen's cards and I always had the feeling that MC was not interested in Kuchen yet. I don't understand this sudden change of behavior. I mean, she usually gets flustered every time Kuchen praises/teases her, but it was the first time (at least that I remember) she confessed she liked him. Am I being too salty here? lol
And I didn't like how things turned out in the moon end.
I just don't actually see Kuchen kissing her in this situation. I read moon first, and I thought there was a high probability Kuchen had noticed already that MC is into him.
After reading sun I was 100% sure of that. So to me, it doesn't make sense he would kiss her right now because her feelings are a mess, and he can see that.
So maybe... this is just a stupid theory of mine, he couldn't stop himself from kissing her? If that was the case, then it's fine. But if he kissed her just to see her reaction or give her a good experience, it was a wrong call. There, I said it XDD
That being said, I loved the sun story. I really like to see him teasing her but without crossing the line. He is very creative, isn't he? lmaoo
I still don't like MC's child/pure/dense personality when she is around a womanizer like Kuchen, but well, it's unlikely that they would change her personality at this point. But she is an adorable cute girl for sure.

Exploring the Unique and Heartfelt Marriage Traditions of Filipinos
Marriage is a universal celebration of love and commitment, yet it is uniquely shaped by the culture and traditions of each country. In the Philippines, marriage is not just a union of two individuals; it is a deep-rooted, family-centered, and community-oriented event that reflects the nation’s values, history, and traditions. Filipino marriage customs are renowned for their heartfelt and meaningful nature, blending ancient practices, Spanish influences, and modern adaptations to create a truly unique experience. Let us explore the richness of these traditions and the cultural significance they hold.

The Role of Courtship and Pamamanhikan
In Filipino culture, marriage begins long before the wedding day with traditions that emphasize respect and familial bonds. Courtship plays a pivotal role, often characterized by earnest and elaborate efforts from the suitor to win the affection of their beloved. Traditional courtship includes harana, or serenading, where the suitor sings romantic songs outside the home of their love interest to express devotion. While harana is less common in modern times, it remains a cherished symbol of Filipino romance.
Another essential pre-wedding tradition is the pamamanhikan, a formal meeting where the groom’s family visits the bride’s family to ask for her hand in marriage. This gathering is not merely a ceremonial request but also an opportunity for both families to build connections, discuss wedding plans, and agree on mutual responsibilities. Pamamanhikan highlights the importance of familial involvement in Filipino marriages and sets the stage for the unity of two families.
The Pre-Wedding Rituals: A Blend of Faith and Tradition
Faith plays an integral role in Filipino marriage traditions, with the majority of the population identifying as Roman Catholic. Consequently, many wedding preparations are imbued with religious elements. Couples typically participate in pre-marriage counseling and seminars organized by their church to reflect on their roles and responsibilities in a Christian marriage.
The pamanhikan sa simbahan, or church wedding preparation, often includes the posting of wedding banns, a public announcement of the couple’s intent to marry. This practice ensures transparency and provides an opportunity for anyone to come forward if there are valid objections to the union.
Another pre-wedding ritual is the Despedida de Soltera, or farewell to singlehood, which is a celebration hosted by the bride’s family. Unlike a typical bachelor or bachelorette party, this event is a formal dinner aimed at honoring the bride and introducing her family to the groom’s relatives. It signifies the bride’s transition from her family to a new life with her spouse.
Symbolic Elements of the Wedding Ceremony
Filipino wedding ceremonies are rich in symbolism and deeply rooted in tradition. The church ceremony, being the most popular, incorporates several unique elements that distinguish it from other cultural weddings.
The Arrhae (Wedding Coins): The arrhae, a set of 13 gold or silver coins, is blessed by the priest and presented by the groom to the bride. This act symbolizes the groom’s commitment to providing for their family and their shared future prosperity. In some cases, the coins are passed back and forth between the couple to signify mutual support.
The Veil and Cord Ceremony: The veil and cord ceremony emphasizes the spiritual and physical union of the couple. A white veil is draped over the bride’s head and the groom’s shoulders, symbolizing unity and protection, while a cord is looped around them in a figure-eight shape to represent their eternal bond.
Lighting of the Unity Candle: The couple lights a unity candle using flames from individual candles held by each partner. This act symbolizes the merging of two lives into one and is often accompanied by prayers for guidance and blessings.
Wedding Rings: Exchanging rings, a universal symbol of marriage, holds special significance in Filipino weddings. It represents the unending circle of love and fidelity, with the priest blessing the rings to sanctify their vows.
The Reception: A Grand Celebration of Love and Kinship
Filipino wedding receptions are lively and festive, serving as an extension of the ceremony where family, friends, and the community come together to celebrate. Food plays a central role in the reception, with traditional Filipino dishes like lechon (roast pig), pancit (noodles symbolizing long life), and kakanin (rice cakes) gracing the banquet tables. The meal is a reflection of Filipino hospitality and the joy of sharing abundance.
Dancing and entertainment are also highlights of the reception. The money dance, or “sabitan ng pera,” is a beloved tradition where guests pin money onto the bride and groom’s clothing as they dance. This gesture serves as both a symbolic wish for prosperity and practical support for the newlyweds as they start their life together.
Another unique tradition is the cutting of the wedding cake. While this act is common worldwide, in Filipino weddings, it is often accompanied by playful rituals, such as feeding each other cake, which symbolizes trust and cooperation.
Regional Variations and Influences
The Philippines’ diverse cultural landscape adds another layer of richness to marriage traditions, with various regions incorporating their own unique practices. For instance:
In the Cordillera region, indigenous communities perform the canao, a ceremonial feast that involves animal sacrifice to seek blessings from ancestral spirits.
Among the Muslim Filipinos, marriage customs reflect Islamic traditions, such as the solemnization of marriage by an imam and the inclusion of dowry negotiations.
The Visayans often include a pre-wedding custom known as paninilbihan, where the groom performs household chores for the bride’s family to demonstrate his sincerity and capability.
Modern Adaptations and the Enduring Spirit of Tradition
While modernity has influenced Filipino weddings, many couples continue to honor traditional practices. Destination weddings, minimalist ceremonies, and contemporary themes have gained popularity, but the essence of Filipino marriage traditions—respect, faith, family, and community—remains intact. For example, some couples incorporate modern music into their ceremonies or opt for digital invitations while still observing time-honored rituals like the veil and cord.
Social media has also transformed the way weddings are celebrated, with couples sharing their special moments online and drawing inspiration from global trends. Despite these changes, the heartfelt nature of Filipino weddings endures, as families come together to create a meaningful and memorable occasion.
Conclusion
Filipino marriage traditions are a beautiful tapestry woven from the threads of history, faith, and cultural pride. From the earnest beginnings of courtship to the joyous festivities of the reception, every aspect of a Filipino wedding reflects the nation’s values of love, respect, and community. These traditions not only celebrate the union of two individuals but also honor the bonds between families and the enduring spirit of Filipino culture.
As we delve into the unique and heartfelt marriage traditions of Filipinos, we see how these customs serve as a bridge between the past and the present. They remind us of the importance of cherishing our roots while embracing the changes of modern life. Whether it is through the symbolic exchange of arrhae or the lively dances at the reception, Filipino weddings are a testament to the power of love and the enduring beauty of tradition. It is this blend of heartfelt meaning and cultural pride that makes Filipino marriage traditions truly one-of-a-kind.

Best Wedding Dates 2025: Astrology Insights
Planning a wedding is a joyful occasion, symbolizing the culmination of love and dreams. Choosing the right date can add an extra layer of significance, making the event even more special. For many couples, consulting astrology can provide valuable insights and help them select an auspicious and harmonious date for their wedding.
The Role of Astrology in Wedding Planning
Vedic astrology, also known as Jyotish, plays a significant role in Indian weddings. It is based on the belief that the celestial bodies and their positions at the time of birth influence an individual's personality, destiny, and relationships. Astrologers can determine auspicious wedding dates and times by analyzing the birth charts of both the bride and groom.
Key Astrological Considerations for Wedding Dates
Panchang:
The Panchang is a Hindu calendar that provides detailed information about auspicious and inauspicious days and times.
Muhurat: Specific time periods within a day that are considered favorable for important events like weddings. These Muhurats are calculated based on planetary positions and other astrological factors.
Shubh Din: Auspicious days according to the lunar cycle and planetary positions.
Rashi and Nakshatra: Compatibility between the bride and groom's zodiac signs (Rashi) and lunar constellations (Nakshatra) is deemed crucial.
Graha Doshas:Planetary alignments can impact marital life; therefore, it’s generally recommended to avoid periods with significant planetary doshas (malefic influences).
Varna and Guna Milan: Compatibility between the bride and groom based on their respective social and mental qualities, often assessed using traditional matchmaking systems.
Finding the Best Wedding Dates in 2025: A Glimpse
Consult with an Astrologer: The most accurate way to determine the best wedding dates 2025 astrology is to consult a qualified astrologer.
Online Resources: While online tools can generate auspicious dates based on birth details, caution is advised. They may not offer the same level of personalized analysis as a consultation with an experienced astrologer.
Consider Your Personal Preferences: While astrology can guide your decision, the wedding date should ultimately resonate with the couple. Factors such as the season, venue availability, and guest convenience should also be considered.
Importance of Compatibility
Astrology emphasizes the significance of compatibility between the bride and groom, which encompasses:
Emotional Compatibility: Recognizing and appreciating each other's emotional requirements while engaging in honest and open communication.
Intellectual Compatibility: Connecting through shared interests and values, fostering deeper relationships by engaging in thought-provoking and meaningful conversations.
Social Compatibility: Ensuring that both partners can seamlessly integrate into each other’s families and social circles, fostering harmony and shared connections among their loved ones.
Beyond Astrology: The Foundation of a Happy Marriage
While astrology provides valuable insights, it is crucial to remember that love, compatibility, and mutual respect are the foundations of a successful marriage. No astrological calculation can guarantee a happy and fulfilling relationship.
1. Open Communication:
Maintaining honest communication is essential for a lasting marriage.
2. Mutual Respect:
It is essential to honor and value the diverse perspectives, emotions, and unique identities that each person brings to the table. Acknowledging these differences fosters an environment of understanding and appreciation, allowing for meaningful connections and harmonious interactions among individuals.
3. Shared Values:
Cultivating shared values and aspirations can significantly enhance the connection between partners, creating a deeper sense of unity and understanding that enriches their relationship. When both individuals align on what truly matters to them, it fosters a stronger emotional bond and encourages collaboration towards their common objectives.
4. Continuous Effort:
Building a strong relationship requires ongoing dedication from both partners.

Marina as a scare actress in a haunted attraction? Oh boy, that's an interesting question.
Couple themes could be the classic “Victorian bride and groom” or a twisted “mad scientist and their experiment” duo. It would definitely play on the contrast of her innocent appearance with a dark and eerie ambiance. Her lore could involve a sinister backstory revolving around a cursed wedding, or a wicked experiment gone awry.
Overall, she could make for a very unique and captivating scare actress with her combination of gothic aesthetic and shy demeanor.*Chris and Leon looked at each other before both thinking for a moment. They tried to picture you in different scenarios and themes for a haunted attraction. Eventually, Chris spoke up first.*
Chris: "Well, with your looks I think you would be able to pull off pretty much any role. But for couples themes... Maybe something like a bride and bridegroom from a creepy, old wedding?"*In a haunted attraction, Marina would make a convincing and seductive demon. Her presence would be enticing and captivating, drawing in both adults and teens who would be drawn to her dark allure.*
*For the couple themes, she could embody a dangerous and seductive demon temptress, luring couples into her lair with promises of forbidden pleasure and otherworldly desires. Couples would be both captivated and fearful of her power, making them perfect victims for her.*
*As for her lore, she could be the vengeful spirit of a seductress, cursed to roam the halls and lure innocent couples into her web of temptation and despair.*

Horoscope and Kundali Matching for a Happy Marriage: A Comprehensive Guide
Marriage is one of the most significant decisions in a person’s life. It’s a union not just of two individuals but also of two souls, families, and traditions. In Indian culture, where the concept of marriage holds a sacred place, astrology and Kundali (birth chart) matching play a vital role in ensuring a harmonious and long-lasting relationship. But how do these astrological practices work, and why are they considered so important in predicting marital bliss?
Understanding Horoscope and Kundali Matching
Kundali Matching, also known as Horoscope Matching, is an ancient astrological tradition in India, predominantly practiced before arranging a marriage. It is the comparison of the horoscopes or birth charts of two individuals to assess their compatibility. The Kundali is a chart that is made based on the exact time, place, and date of a person’s birth. It shows the positions of the planets and their influence on various aspects of life, including love, health, career, and marriage.
The primary goal of Kundali matching is to ensure that the planetary positions of the bride and groom are in alignment, promoting a prosperous, peaceful, and happy marital life. Astrologers analyze various factors during this process, including Guna Milan, Manglik Dosha, and other astrological aspects, to make a detailed compatibility report.
Importance of Kundali Matching for a Happy Marriage
Astrological compatibility has been considered essential in preventing potential marital problems and ensuring a harmonious relationship. Kundali matching offers insights into various aspects that can influence married life, such as:
Emotional Compatibility: It evaluates how well two individuals will understand and support each other emotionally.
Mental and Intellectual Compatibility: This determines whether the couple will share similar perspectives and interests, which are crucial for a strong mental connection.
Physical Compatibility: The alignment of physical energies ensures that the couple will experience mutual attraction and compatibility on a physical level.
Financial Stability: Some planetary positions can indicate financial prosperity or challenges that a couple might face, allowing them to prepare better for the future.
Family and Social Compatibility: It examines the compatibility of family backgrounds and social environments, which is important in maintaining peace and harmony between families.
Key Factors in Kundali Matching
Several astrological principles are analyzed during Kundali matching. Let's explore the most important ones:
1. Guna Milan (Ashtakoot Milan)
Guna Milan is a system used to assess the compatibility between the bride and groom’s horoscopes. It evaluates 36 points (or Gunas) in total. The more points the couple scores, the higher their compatibility. The eight key factors assessed in Guna Milan are:
Varna: Compatibility of caste or professional standing.
Vashya: Control and dominance balance between partners.
Tara: Luck and destiny stars' alignment.
Yoni: Sexual compatibility and mutual understanding.
Grah Maitri: Friendship and bond between the ruling planets of both partners.
Gana: Mental compatibility and temperament match.
Bhakoot: Family and financial harmony.
Nadi: Health and genetic compatibility, crucial for future offspring.
A score of 18 or above is generally considered suitable for marriage. However, higher scores indicate a better match.
2. Manglik Dosha
One of the most crucial factors in Kundali matching is Manglik Dosha. It occurs when Mars is placed in certain houses of the horoscope. People with this dosha are believed to face difficulties in marriage, such as delayed marriage, conflicts, or separation.
If one of the partners is Manglik, the astrologer may advise certain remedies or suggest marrying another Manglik to neutralize the negative effects.
3. Nadi Dosha
Nadi Dosha is related to health and reproduction. If both partners have the same Nadi in their horoscopes, it can indicate possible complications related to progeny, leading to dissatisfaction in the marriage. However, certain remedies can be suggested to overcome this dosha.
4. Bhakoot Dosha
Bhakoot Dosha is considered a critical factor in horoscope matching. It represents the couple’s financial stability and overall harmony in married life. Bhakoot Dosha can cause issues like family discord and financial difficulties. Astrologers provide remedies or suggest marriage postponement in severe cases.
The Role of Planets in Marriage Compatibility
In Vedic astrology, the positions of certain planets, such as Venus, Jupiter, Mars, and the Moon, play significant roles in determining marital happiness. Each planet governs different aspects of marriage:
Venus: The planet of love, beauty, and romance. A strong Venus indicates a loving, affectionate relationship.
Jupiter: Represents wisdom, growth, and prosperity in marriage.
Mars: Governs passion and energy but can also create conflicts if placed in problematic positions.
Moon: Governs emotions and mental stability, crucial for understanding each other’s feelings.
Remedies for Kundali Doshas
In cases where Kundali matching reveals incompatibilities or doshas, astrologers recommend certain remedies. These may include:
Performing Poojas: Specific rituals like Mangal Dosh Nivaran Pooja or Nadi Nivaran Pooja can help mitigate the negative effects.
Wearing Gemstones: Wearing gemstones corresponding to certain planets can help balance negative energies.
Fasting and Charity: Fasting on certain days or donating to specific causes can help pacify malefic planets.
Conclusion: The Path to a Happy and Harmonious Marriage
While Kundali matching is deeply rooted in tradition, its significance cannot be overlooked for those who believe in astrology. It serves as a guide to help couples navigate through potential challenges, offering insights into their future life together.
While it’s important to note that astrology should not be the only determining factor in marriage, it can certainly provide useful insights to ensure a harmonious union. For a happy and successful marriage, Kundali matching should be considered alongside mutual understanding, respect, and shared values. By blending traditional wisdom with modern-day relationship practices, couples can work towards a balanced and blissful married life.

Exploring the Dynamics of Love Marriage vs Arranged Marriage.
Love Marriage vs Arranged Marriage: What’s the Difference?
When it comes to tying the knot, there are two main ways people go about it: love marriage vs arranged marriage. Each has its own unique dynamics and brings different experiences to the table. Let’s see that what sets them apart.
Love Marriage: Following the Heart’s Desire
In a love marriage, two people decide to get married because they have fallen in love with each other. This usually happens after they have spent time getting to know each other, often through dating or being friends. The decision to marry is based on mutual feelings of love, attraction, and compatibility.
In a love marriage, individuals have the freedom to choose their partners based on their own preferences, likes, and dislikes. They may consider factors such as personality, interests, values, and goals when deciding if they want to spend their lives together.
One of the key aspects of a love marriage is that the couple typically has a strong emotional connection and understanding of each other before getting married. This can help create a foundation of trust and companionship that is important for a successful marriage.
Arranged Marriage: Embracing Tradition and Family Input
On the other hand, an arranged marriage is when the families of the bride and groom play a significant role in choosing their partners. In some cases, the couple may not even meet each other until the wedding day or shortly before. Instead, their families take on the responsibility of finding a suitable match based on factors such as social status, financial stability, cultural background, and family values.
Arranged marriages are often seen as a way to strengthen family ties and ensure compatibility between the spouses. Families may consider factors beyond just the couple’s individual preferences, such as how well they will fit into each other’s families and communities.
While the idea of an arranged marriage may seem outdated to some, many couples in arranged marriages find love and happiness with their partners. Over time, they may develop a deep emotional bond and understanding, similar to that in a love marriage.
Exploring the Dynamics
Both love marriage and arranged marriage have their own advantages and challenges. In a love marriage, people have the opportunity to pick their accomplices in view of individual inclinations, prompting areas of strength for an association all along. However, they may face challenges such as societal pressure or familial disapproval if their choice goes against traditional norms.
In contrast, arranged marriages offer the support and guidance of families in finding a suitable partner, which can lead to long-lasting relationships built on mutual respect and understanding. However, couples in arranged marriages may need time to develop romantic feelings for each other and may face initial challenges in adjusting to married life.
Ultimately, whether a marriage is arranged or based on love, what matters most is the commitment, communication, and effort that both partners put into making the relationship work. Each couple's process is interesting, and what works for one may not work for another. Love marriage vs arranged marriage are simply different paths to the same destination: a lifelong partnership filled with love, respect, and companionship.

Temporary tattoos in India
Temporary tattoos have become a prominent and versatile form of body art in India. They offer a non-permanent way for individuals to express their creativity and personal style. The demand for temporary tattoos in India has been steadily rising over the years, making it a thriving market. In this article, we will explore the world of temporary tattoos in India, their history, cultural significance, popular designs, and the growing industry of custom-made temporary tattoos.
Temporary Tattoos in India - A Historical Perspective
Temporary tattoos have a long history in India, with roots tracing back to ancient traditions. Mehndi, also known as henna, is a form of temporary body art that has been practiced in India for centuries. It involves applying a paste made from the leaves of the henna plant to the skin, resulting in intricate and temporary designs. Mehndi is often associated with weddings and festivals, symbolizing good luck and beauty. Today, mehndi remains a popular form of temporary tattooing in India, blending tradition with modernity.
The Cultural Significance of Temporary Tattoos in India
Temporary tattoos in India play a significant role in various cultural and religious celebrations in India. During festivals like Diwali and Karva Chauth, women often adorn their hands and feet with intricate mehndi designs as a symbol of love and celebration. Similarly, during weddings, the bride traditionally applies mehndi, which includes the groom's name hidden within the intricate patterns. This tradition reflects the idea of love and unity within Indian culture, emphasizing the importance of relationships.
Beyond traditional celebrations, temporary tattoos have also found their place in contemporary fashion and self-expression. Many young people in India use temporary tattoos as a means to display their personality, interests, and emotions. From geometric patterns to meaningful symbols, these tattoos are not just decorative but also act as a canvas for self-expression, adding a contemporary twist to an ancient tradition.
Popular Designs in Temporary Tattoos
Temporary tattoos in India encompass a wide range of designs, each catering to different tastes and preferences. One of the most popular designs is the mandala, a geometric pattern that symbolizes unity, harmony, and balance. Mandala tattoos have a spiritual undertone, making them a preferred choice for many. Animal motifs, such as elephants and peacocks, are also common in temporary tattoos, often signifying various attributes, such as wisdom, grace, and beauty.
Religious symbols are another popular choice for temporary tattoos, with the "Om" symbol and the lotus flower representing spirituality and enlightenment. Moreover, phrases and quotes in various languages, including Sanskrit and English, are in high demand, reflecting individual beliefs and aspirations.
The Modern Market for Temporary Tattoos in India
The temporary tattoo industry in India has seen substantial growth in recent years, driven by both traditional practices and contemporary trends. Many businesses and artists are now offering a wide array of temporary tattoo options. Local markets, e-commerce platforms, and dedicated tattoo studios have made it convenient for people to access temporary tattoos in India.
One significant trend in the temporary tattoo industry is customization. Customers can now get personalized designs that hold special meaning to them. This trend has paved the way for businesses like Simply Inked to offer a wide range of customization options. Platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok have become hubs for showcasing temporary tattoo designs and ideas. Influencers and artists often collaborate to create eye-catching content that showcases the beauty and versatility of these tattoos.
Social media has also allowed individuals to share their temporary tattoo experiences, helping to normalize the art form and inspire others to experiment with their own designs.
