A cursed theory that I must share.

Odd knows how to throw himeslf off a moving vehicle with minimal injuries.

And that got me thinking.

Why was he sent to Kadic? Why did his parents never question where kiwi is? They had to know about the no dogs thing. (Unless this was adressed between them off screen, in which case why was there no effort to visit and take Kiwi home?)

So a theory for you: Odd was a vigilante of some kind. (Boy had a tail on Lyoko and no balance problems. He clearly is trained in some way. Maybe a magical girl esc situation or something but still. That is not a normal reaction to suddenly having a new limb you can control. Unless it isn't new.)

Or maybe he is trying very hard to keep some powers a secret.

I mean. Aelita had a little elf toy and became an elf on lyoko. Yumi is Japanese and being geisha is a normal, respected job that many aspire to be. Ulrich is a samurai, and by golly aren't Samurai cool people who protect others and work under a lord (bit of a stretch but he's a teenager. With a dad like that I would not be surprised if there was a little escapism involved.) William just got a BFS and really. What teenager would not go wild for a cool sword (seriously the thing reminds me of final fantasy 7).

Then there's Odd. The purple I can get. But the cat never gets an explanation, given the scanner wasn't active while Kiwi was in there. Add in that weird purple no explanation given ever spot in his hair and something doesn't add up. (Yes Aelita's hair is pink but redheads exist so I can see the leap given nobody questions it. People question Odd's hair.)

So really. Something is up with this boy's history. I personally believe superhero of some kind (magical girl esc shenanigans included) or escaped experiment.

Sorry for the late response but anon, you could totally make an AU out of this haha (magical girl-verse or general superhero/escaped experiment tomfoolery). Honestly you could probably spin the magical girl AU quite a bit with Kiwi playing as the Familiar, or even play on the escaped experiment idea and twist it around a bit with series lore

Theory-wise can't be too crazily sold on it. Odd's parents aren't the most observant of their kids (and canon pretty much makes it seem like they're so busy they don't really keep an eye on what goes on in their kids lives) so I imagine what is happening with Kiwi slips under the rug. That and perhaps Odd's sisters don't want to admit they let their little brother sneak off with the family dog, either out of sibling comrodery or they don't want to get in trouble for this as well lol

I've seen some authors like to offer the headcanon that Odd likes to dye his hair (I'm one of those writers haha, Evolution may have been extremely shaky but there are some ideas that can certainly work etc etc Odd having brunet hair is one of them). The kid loves to dress up in flamboyant colors, bright pink, yellow, purple, you get the idea. Part of me likes to think it's to attract attention, he is just one of six kids after all (mind you the only boy and the youngest of the bunch too). I'm sorta headcanon-posting about Odd's parents being emotionally neglectful. I mean it's also kinda out there in the episode. Sure they "care" on the surface level but they don't really offer much structure? They let him loose, offer unconditional love without any set rules. Obviously there's a fine line given the other side of the spectrum is like, say, Ulrich's family (or father in particular) for example. But too much care without guidance can leave kids feeling in the dark and truly not cared for. Especially if they see other kids actually having that healthy relationship/boundaries taught to them (I hope I'm conveying this all right lmao)

Anyhow! Back to this and off the headcanon tangent, I imagine Lyoko grants some knowledge on how to use their abilities. Or at least, kinda like ingrained instincts already despite not having much experience with them just yet. I like to point out how easy it was for Yumi to wield her fans, or for Ulrich to instantly know how to use super sprint in the prequel, even the contested shield of Odd's just showed up out of nowhere there lol. The tail not causing balance issues is probably one of the instinctual things, just like how Odd can go back and forth from cat paws to human hands without batting an eye. This could also just thrive in your theory/AU either way haha

I've heard some suggestions that Kiwi shed some fur in the scanner Odd went in right before he was virtualized for the first time, so maybe that could lend some idea to his form? This one is the weakest out of the bunch though, especially given dog fur really doesn't equal cat. Cats are flexible and agile though (they love to sleep and eat, they're very playful despite not knowing when to hold back at times, I own two cats atm so this is my own observations leaking over haha), Odd fits the bill, and he's an animal lover (or a dog lover, I forget if the show has mentioned if he just doesn't like cats or whatnot it's been a while). I remember bits and pieces of cats having a sixth sense (not really but people like to say they do) so that can line up with Future Flash, Odd's a gamer which is my only decent excuse for laser arrow lmfao Thank you for your ask! Synopsis: Between the middle ages and early industrial eras of human history, piracy was the most revolutionary business to save souls from the clutches of slavery, taxing economies, and oppressive kingdom structures. The last bastion of hope for those who would have nothing left to fend for themselves. Such was the business carried on by generations of the Grayson bloodline, circa 1300s A.D. Europe. Richard John "Dicky" Grayson grew up an aspiring aerialist, as opposed to being optimistic about the chance to see the seven seas from aboard a water vessel. He read stories of the greats: Sir Francis, Blackbeard, and even some tragic lores like that of Davey Jones (which he thought to be nothing more than fantasy). Outside of these romantic fantasies, he, as well as his illegitimately married parents, John and Mary, lived their entire lives in a gang of outcasts, led by one Sir Haly; a once respectable socialite praised by the British Army and the elites which they served, whose tastes for the unusual, unexplained, and otherworldly things did not sit well with the King, who sought to make Gotham prime territory for the beginning of western colonial expansion.

For you see, Sir Haly's Circus practiced, unlawfully, as a safe haven for runaway slaves and indigenous folk seeking refuge. Haly was cast out by a supposed polite society, but knew if he could turn a sense of profit out of making refugees into showmen, he'd have enough shilling for eventual provisions of equity for those to whom he gave asylum. Not to mention, pirates would also be looking to him for resources, albeit, humans to traffic. Dicky didn't take well to certain aspects of this culture. So he got wise one day, taking a heavy sack of loot from his family's ring leader while he slept, and by morning one fateful spring day, he bribed a sailor for his ship.

Thus, The Nightwing's first voyage began. He woke up the whole circus of urchins, commanding them to haul ammunition, liquor, food, herbs, cutlery, and even a risky theft of local guard armory cannons and firearms onto the boat. The Graysons were the most worrisome about Dicky's plans, alongside Sir Haly of The Narrows, to whom Dicky would bestow first mate responsibility. The three were of the last standing in concern and trivial thought over the matter before a unit of Royal Navy opened fire in the public, John and Mary hopelessly in the crossfire. Haly had been fatally shot in a calf, limping on his way aboard the vessel. Dick had no choice but to flee, in spite of the tears raining over his cheeks in a look of absolute uncertainty. This was not what he had hoped for.

The Haly's crew set a course for Blüdhaven, a town of natives and refugees alike, not yet eyed for conquest by the Navy, where they might find the means for an expansion of the crew, as well as safe passage within the rivers of the Americas, most of which had been taken over by the British Navy. The crew would rest, recuperate, and hope to set sail for plunder beyond the colonized territories that were vastly becoming the last places their kind would be in before dying. But if the Royal Navy wants to stand in the way, then the blood of the King's men shall be the price to pay, for Dicky's loss, as well as for the suffering his Haly's family went through.

obvi (if u kno me if not welcome im brina my brain doesnt work) i have multiple verses im just dumb and havent posted them, i gotta rewrite a lot of them to be shorter too bc i give full character backstories for everything as it develops and ik most ppl dont wanna read that so it takes longer for me to do things bc im ‘tistic and short quick explanations is not my fortay. main doodads tho: 1, 3-7 are fantasy worlds specifically, 2 is overall in any world, 8 onwards is purely human verses

generally with other fantasy worlds, i’ll have it where cassie ended up in your universe. Whilst my Wonde/rland is largely built off my own thoughts and things now, and various points of lore, the 2009 S/yfy A/lice was a base for it. A/merican M/cgee’s Alice is the base inspo for Cassie’s cheshire cat, but she’s also her own thing. (fun fact: originally i was writing her as the d/ormouse from b/urtons wonderl/and, but as she grew further from that canon w my never writing in that universe, she became my own character ultimately and holds few similarities to her origin now, including species! but her twin brother is still ‘proper’ dormo/use, yes it makes sense, its more a title than a species in this world)

Cassie is… moldable, mentally, to say the least. When someone finds her in whatever world she ends up in, whether its a fantasy world or not (as she ofc just lives wherever in non fantasy aus) she.. tends to be easier to manipulate because she will get attached to people just for being nice to her. she isn’t used to it. it’s rare for there to be a universe where this isn’t an issue for her (also of note bc dual muse blog: willys the manipulator, and shes the manipulatee) honestly she’s morally grey anyways and doesn’t really understand morality as a whole, so if shes found by a villain and they just.. treat her like a person, she will get attached. and cassie being attached can be dangerous, not just for others, but for herself, because she’s loyal to a fault. if she makes friends w multiple ppl and they fight, she wont know what to do because she just can’t bring herself to believe either person is wrong. it’s also of note that in most fantasy verses, she’d been locked up, abandoned in a cell, for years. She doesnt tend to talk and, despite trying to push a tough and uncaring act, she’s still scared. she’s still traumatized. a lot of the time she wont even talk. this is the everything tab also so be aware she has a scar over her right eye, and her right eye is a silvery blue verses her normal blue eye. she’s also pretty much blind in her right eye, but the color is due to heterochromia. her twin brother has one blue and one green.

she is very noticeably neurodivergent when you talk to her, and as many fellow a/utistics point out, cats tend to have similar personalities to us anyways (ive seen a many point out that if you can handle a cats support needs you can handle ours lol). usually shes fixated on something, but she’ll also use trickery of the tongue to get out of things when need be. she’ll unintentionally speak in riddles that make perfect sense to her, but others feel a need to solve. however in most universes where she ends up there, i do it post her escaping after the prince of he/arts (who kept her captive for years) overthrows his mother. She ultimately traverses due to remaining look/ing glasses from before the land was taken by the Hearts. Meaning she cannot get back on her own. But, she also does not want to.

It’s very important for the author to be aware that she cannot tell a lie. Muses not understanding is fine, because how would they know when cassie doesn’t know her own heritage in most verses (o/uat is currently pmuch the only fantasy verse where she was raised by her parents, making her aware shes the princess of spades, and aware shes a witch, but still unaware that the reason she cant lie is because shes a fae halfling) Cassie is a Fae Halfling, and fae/witch hybrid. The Fae half itself is a hybrid of Seelie and Unseelie like her father. I use pieces of real lore and pieces of my own here, but it doesnt really come up in writing much anyways. but she cannot lie to anyone, it physically tears into her flesh the moment words leave her lips. the only thing she can do is use trickery words to mis-explain, and even then it can titter the line.

Her cheshire invisibility comes from shapeshifting to match her surroundings, but beyond that she mostly can just change her hair color, slightly change her face for short periods of time, or as most often used and the longest shes capable of holding, turning into a silver blue cat.

fae wise her powers are largely elemental, water focused, and she doesnt know how it works. the faerie power she has most control over involves her own blood, which she can turn into crystalized weapons when shes bleeding. most often she’ll be using her witch abilities. in some aus, your character may see she has strange looking bands on her wrists and locked into place, meant to look like bracelets but unable to be removed. They’re power blockers placed on her by the prince of h/earts to ensure she couldn’t break out again. they keep her from using her powers, from healing, and otherwise.

her makeup made her an omen to the remaining fae of wo/nderland, which there arent many left there. they wanted to slaughter her father as well, but never managed to make it as he was too brutally powerful for them, either. The Fae had believed a seelie/unseelie hybrid, let alone a fae/witch hybrid, would bring death upon the whole of their kind. Ironically… Cassie’s technically a necromancer, and can give part of herself to bring others back to life permanently, or use weaker magic to bring them back temporarily. As such, when she dies, she tends to always come back, and oft with more power than before, and even less self control. She’s also the only reason her twin brother is still alive, but he wont admit to that.

purely human verses, she still doesn’t lie, but it largely relates more to the a/utism than anything else. she doesn’t like to lie in the first place, but has little qualms about confusing others when they get confused by her speaking normally. she doesn’t see a point in fixing that, especially when she can simply say a confusing, convoluted version of the truth to get out of actually admitting anything.

usually, because when i first wrote her a few years ago i actually combined her and this canon iteration (as shes basically what cassie would become if pushed fully to the limit) whos name i took, i’ll have her be the adopted daughter (and bio relative) of A/lcina D/imitrescu, with her sharing that name. Meaning she’s in her family’s wine business. She’s much more distrusting of men, between nearly being killed by one after watching him kill most of her family, kidnapped by him for blackmail until she found a way out, and her mother (alcina’s) own severe hatred of them. but still, honestly, if you’re nice to her she’s probably gonna get confused and fall for it.

theres also verses w @mastermiinded where shes E/llington F/eints daughter, thats probably the most normal cassie you’ll ever get if you want those but also she has a mom who loves her and was raised in a universe heavily involving a cult. she’s kind of bitchier tbh LOL

funnily enough, she is still always ready to attack at any given moment.

she knows a lot of knife tricks, and many would argue she likely belongs in a circus of some sort. she doesn’t like that argument, but she does know how to do multiple knife tricks, swallow swords, and do various slight of hand tricks. all while being blind in her right eye.

put in a multitude of self defense training, and for a brief time was even made her mothers bodyguard, she knows how to fight and she knows how to kill. whether or not she wants to is its own debacle.

if someone is out to get her and sb else tries to help, shes not gonna be cool w it bc she doesnt want others risking themselves for her, and it makes her feel like shes been kidnapped and locked up all over again.

A list of questions that are answered to what I consider canon for my characters at the least.

-- What is this AU and how does it work?

Essentially its what I dub a Modern Fantasy + Pokemon AU. It isn’t uncommon to find elves, orcs, or other fantasy races existing here or even being trainers, and pokemon take the place of sentient animals. Pokeballs are simply a means of transport and instead being a trainer means having a knack for communication with the hearts of said pokemon which, in past years, was not common. It is only in recent times that there’s a influx of them.

There is also the ‘Primal Energy’ source that pokemon can call upon for power boosts in battle and it gives them more power then the usual pokemon might have in say anime or game verse. This truly is a fantasy world but just make it pokemon.

-- Who are the Champions of the Regions?

The Champions of each region are the following; Lance/Donovan* (Kanto/Johto, Donovan is his protege), Steven (Hoenn), Night (Sinnoh, Cynthia retired), Iris (Unova, Alder retired), Diantha (Kalos), Hau (Alola, there was no protag), Unknown OC (Galar, Leon retired), Geeta/Nemona (Paldea, Nemona is her protege). Champions usually will take on a protege at some point to train and they are trained to take over when they retire ( ie. Alder with Iris ).

-- How do you handle each generation / sets of games?

All game timelines have taken place and everything is set into one verse!. ( ie. Naranja-Uva Academy existing ) The only exception games that haven’t taken place are Black2/White2 because it never happened for my verse.

-- What ships are canon in this verse?

Ships that are actively interacted with across blogs tied to this one, canon or OC ( or both )! 

-- How do Legendary Pokemon work in this verse?

Depending on the legendary there is usually one one or multiple depending such as there being one Dialga and many Celebi. It isn’t uncommon either for legendary pokemon to pick a ‘Champion’ and take them under their wing, sometimes granting them their power or an unlimited lifespan. Such is the case with Kianga/N and Reshiram. The thing about them, however, is they are incredibly picky and usually revered depending on the culture as Gods or a bane. They are also jacked up in power feeding on primal energy and or being its source.

-- What is ‘Primal Energy’?

Primal Energy are invisible wellsprings that I like to think of color-coded fountains which is metaphorically where pokemon sprang from. Pokemon had this power first, but in time they shared their knowledge with the other races of the worlds and they bonded together. That’s how trainers and pokemon came to be alongside one another.

Type Specialists are especially in tune with these well-springs and have otherworldly abilities depending on which one it is. The oldest of old are, of course, ones such as Fire, Water, Grass, etc, but the ones that gave rise to civilizations for trainerkind and pokemonkind are said to be Dragon, Fairy, and Fighting-type. 

-- How do the battle mechanics work in this verse?

Mega Evolution, Z-Crystals, Dynamax, and Terastilize all exist in the same universe and work much like the anime. There are also Shadow Pokemon, Totem Pokemon, etc available in this verse and considered canon. The Fae-Touched Pokemon I include here are exclusive to fairfolk-touched pokemon and is a mechanic that is like Totem Pokemon but they’re not big, just the same size but more powerful and prone to more feral movements in battle.

-- What regions are considered canon?

Everything in the canon pokemon universe across all games and fangames. I will consider SOME fangames canon depending on if people can convince me. As for Ranger Regions, the lore of aotoreiki’s is considered canon here so look to their posts for more on the various Ranger Regions!

-- What technology exists in this verse?

Real world technology exists here! Anything you can think of just think of it pokemon-ified!

-- How does the world work in this verse?

The Pokemon League is the government respectfully of every region. Champions are responsible in overseeing the entire region. Elite Four respond to serious cases. Gym Leaders are ‘mayors’ of their towns and are responsible in keeping them safe. Lance is the only instance where there is a Champion of two since he is the Champion of Kanto and Johto.

#75 — Which alternate future/universe in canon is my favorite?

I know a lot of people would probably answer Endverse (and I do love endverse!Destiel) but an Apocalyptic world overrun by zombies is a little too dark for me so it doesn't take out my Top spot (no matter how many awesome fics I've read 😍) but it definitely gets an honourable mention. 💖

Because I'm indecisive I'm gonna list my Top 3:

#3 - PURGATORY aka. Purgaytory  (s8)

Aside from the delicious Destiel content (Dean searching for Cas for a year and praying to him every night), Benny being a delight in every sense, and the general comical bickering of our 3 amigos, I love that it gave us purgatory!Dean (his entire journey in season 8 is quality content) as well as the introduction of Monsterland after we were teased with it in season 6.

I am sad they didn't explore the landscape and realm size further, as well as any monster hierarchy, or show us other types of giant/archaic monsters, but plot and budget restraints are understandable and what we did get was gold (the filter was a nice touch too, really helped set the tone and give it a vibe remeniscent of the early seasons). Thankfully there are also awesome fic writers out there exploring the unexplored for us (Redemption Road is a must-read 📖).

Season gr8 is my favourite season and Purgatory is a big part of Why. I'm thrilled they brought it back in season 15 and the introduction of the Leviathan Blossom lends inspiration to what other kinds of botanical life might reside there. 

#2 - THE FAERIE REALM  (s6 + s8)

The aliens-oh-no-wait-it's-fairies! ep of season 6 (6x09) is one of the lightest and (imho) most enjoyable eps of the dark season, and i love the x-files vibe of it. It gives us glimpses of fae realm creatures from Leprechauns and little Elves to Redcaps and Tinks, and we witness some fae magic including being teased with the fix-it of a Leprechaun's magic being able to reach into Lucifer's cage and retrieve Sam's soul with no fuss (i mean WOW, yes I'm intrigued). And let's not forget Dean's brief foray into the realm itself, which means he can now see fairies while others can't (I love coda fics of Dean's time there, and would gladly read more extensive fics exploring the realm, ie. Dean and soulless!Sam in a Canon Divergent adventure).

..which brings me to season 8 (8x11) where we meet fairy!Gilda and witness some dark fairy magic. Is Gilda's world in the same realm as the fairies we met in 6x09? Possibly. I would gladly read an adventure fic where Charlie, Dean and Sam venture into Gilda's realm (and don real warrior garb). I'm sure the MOL have files and artefacts that could be worked into a multi-realm case fic (Dean would be an awesome warrior in a fantasy war). 

Basically I love the introduction of fairies and a fae realm into the SPN 'verse because it lends a different kind of magic than we've seen from the usual witches, demigods, demons and angels. I wish we'd had another episode or two that explored fae lore. 

an honourable mention goes to Oz (because I love Dorothy and the fact that Charlie got her quest). It seems cool, but i prefer the open-to-interpretation-ness of a *fae realm*.

#1 AU!WINCHESTERS WORLD  (s15)

AU!Dean and AU!Sam might’ve been scripted mostly for comedic relief, but the existence of their world is a gift: a world where they drive a pastel fiat, wear expensive fashionable clothes (and manbuns), where people are aware of monsters to the point that cooperations exist to train hunters and get paid handsomely to hunt all over the world..

I mean, I'm sure there have been Alternate Canon fics set in such a world but now it's canon and i just love it! The possibilities are endless, y'know? 

I want a fic exploring their upbringing and hunter lives in this other realm, how society differs and whether any creatures have been enfolded into that society over the years. 

I want a fic of our boys swapping lives with the AU!Winchesters for the duration of a case. 

I want to see what our other beloved SPN characters are like in that AU. 

But to be perfectly honest the main reason I love that AU is because it gave us the beautiful cinnamon roll that is AU!Dean (we must protect him at all costs! 😍) and how contrasted his characterisation is to our Dean. 

I love how the AU!Winchesters appear to be rich&pampered and yet we have to remind ourselves they come from a world with monsters, they come from a life of hunting that takes them all over the world and is "exhausting", they come from a "family business" existence (incorporated). They may appear non-threatening, dress differently, speak differently, not drink beer and all the other differences between them, but they are still world-renowned monster assassins smart enough to jump from one universe to another in order to survive. They're a badass duo I want to read more of.

It has been a while since I posted my ad here on FYRA. After I received so many positive responses and still maintain a very strong relationship with a current partner of mine to this day, I am more than eager to return and try my luck a second time. As I am super busy with school and work most of the time, I haven’t been able to tend to one of my greatest passions, which is writing. 



I hail from Europe, and no I am not French, though it is a beautiful language much like the country. I may plan on traveling there though… who knows what the future may bring.



But enough of my digression and scatterbrained ramblings!


I’d rather be curt and not go into detail about my personal life or include any fancy infos about myself. I’d rather keep that open for a possible friendship once we get into chatting outside of the roleplay.


You may call me Aylo. I am in my twenties, and a female writer who also enjoys other creative outlets like drawing and illustrating. I am a full-time student with a job on the side, which means that I am usually fairly occupied. But now since the holidays are at our doorstep, my constricting schedule has loosened up a bit - in other words - loads of free time to play with! Now I have a wish, or dare I say, a certain craving for something new and fresh. And I am willing to experiment a little this time to see how things go. After a severe case of writer’s block, my creative juices were dried up until - I began watching a certain show called ‘The Boys’. Thinking that I was more or less done with superheroes, this show somehow sparked something within me. It had a very interesting take on the whole superhero world dynamic and showed how human and flawed these people actually were. And with that it sparked my muse and plenty of ideas began filling my head. So what is it that I would love to get my fingers on you wonder? 
Well my cravings are the following: 


The Boys

The X-Men (comic-verse also perfectly acceptable)

An original, somewhat mature story involving superhuman characters and their daily struggle to cope with their powers / how they choose to use these said powers

The list may be scarce but trust me, we can make the most of it. Especially when you consider how vast the X-Men and The Boys universe actually is. But if that doesn’t suit your fancy at all, I am absolutely down for creating something entirely original that involves sci-fi, fantasy and superhuman elements.


I’ve plenty of ideas in that department that I am more than willing to share. If you message me, we can certainly come to an agreement on what would be best suited for the both of us. Now onto the qualities of what my roleplaying partner should have. If you do not meet these requirements or simply have a different view / style when it comes to writing and content, then feel free to skip my ad.



What it all entails:


☞ The Partnership: I strongly encourage for an active roleplayer to take part and share 50% of ideas, plotting, length, detail and passion. Can’t do the thinking for two. A bird cannot fly with only one wing. ☞ The Limits: There are certain topics I tend to avoid which is pedophilia, bestiality, necrophilia, vore, scat, furries and the list goes on. ☞ The Way of Writing: No one-liners. No text-talk. No half-assed replies. And certainly no ‘quality over quantity’ when you can have both. I don’t expect anyone to write a novel, absolutely not. I don’t either, but if I get the feeling of my partner wavering in their effort and not investing as much as I do, I have to give them the chop, unfortunately. Too often have I encountered partners who showed strong enthusiasm at first, but after a while… they slacked and eventually only put the adequate effort into their side of things whilst completely disregarding my characters. I hope to avoid this in the future. ☞ Communication: As I love making new friends and discuss plotting as we go on, communication is the bedrock of the roleplay. It strengthens the compatibility between us. If there is anything that bothers you, or if you think you are left out in some way (be it a mistake on my part or if we’re both at fault here), tell me. Really, it won’t hold a grudge against you since I know that we all slip up every now and then. We’re human after all. It is also completely sufficient if you only type out a few messages per week. I am very lax about it. It doesn’t bother me re-writing scenes to fit the narrative more. If there are mistakes, they can be corrected - just to get that out there. We can always exchange opinions and see what would benefit the story most. I will also voice my opinion should something bother me along the way.

And now to myself and how I write:

☞ My writing: Third person perspective usually, although I have made some exceptions in my experience. My style is wide-ranging and flexible, which means that frequently, word count will go up 1000+ per reply - though it highly depends on the given situation and partner. Quality over quantity but I say both. I love detail in description, and I am actively seeking someone of the same infamy. My partner should have a basic grasp on grammar, punctuation and somewhat of an interest in knowledgeable writing. Usually I double in a roleplay but I can also make an exception. 
☞ Rating: Alright, so you are writing with some of mature age. I have 12 years of writing experience when it comes to this particular genre. This will be a fair warning to any of those who are not really comfortable with adult themes. There will be violence, swearing, gore, intimacy, uncomfortable subjects, drama, conflict and other dark themes included within the story. I have few limits but I will respect the boundaries of my partner. And lastly, I won’t fade to black or skip out on the nitty gritty, unless it doesn’t serve a particular purpose in forwarding the story. ☞ Interests: My line of interests vary when it comes to genres. I love conceiving my own lore inside a story, be it an original or a pre-existing universe. I am not opposed to tapping into some science fiction, action, romance, crime, action or thriller genres, in fact I encourage it. ☞ Characters: I write canon as well as OC characters. Faceclaims, GIFs, drawings, mood boards or just a plain physical description is absolutely sufficient. Characters should be written as opulent, flawed, unique, talented, heroic, villainous, spiteful, angry, and everything in-between. In other words, don’t be scared of making them ‘human’ who sometimes tend to f*ck up. ☞ Romance: Openly play and accept characters of both genders, preferable m x f pairings, but I am open to m x m and f x f relationships as well. I have more experience with m x f relationships, so I might be more adept in that category. If the chemistry of two characters compel me, I am on board with it! When it comes to sexual scenarios and intimacy (intercourse, foreplay, all that funny business). I encourage erotism, but in a tasteful, sensual manner (that goes for romance as well). The passion must be felt through the screen, even if it’s just a mere description of someone’s deep train of thought. ☞ Content: Drama, violence, sex, metamorphosis, symbolism, action, romance, pretty much everything is a-okay. I am not very bothered by certain subjects that may be uncomfortable for the general public. Roleplays are fictional stories and we best keep viewing them as such. If there are things you are uncomfortable with, name them and I shall respect those boundaries. But don’t be surprised when suddenly one of our characters bites the dust, or gets tortured. It may be difficult to write and read, but it is all part of the story and furthering the plot. My roleplays imply and involve brutality, mayhem, psychological and physical damaging among other things. But I also greatly endorse beauty, serenity and placid moments, scenes or characters. I love it when it comes full circle… everyone- and everything has a beautiful and hideous side. Again, this is mature and I am not here to coddle, I am here for a challenge.

Should there be a hiatus, I will tell you as soon as possible. I understand when you are busy as well, though I highly appreciate if you notify me before disappearing into the ether. At least give me a heads up on what’s going on so I can adjust and put the roleplay on hold if needed! 
Mediums I always roleplay on are email and google-docs. I also have Discord in case for plotting and chatting outside of the RP.

AU // FFXV ‘Preface’

In the AUs that I have written for Final Fantasy XV, it is decided that Seifer is of noble birth. There is some minor fudging of the canon, but if we're honest, with everything retconned and conned and retconned again, I say it fits in with just about any timeline Square throws at us...

All of my information is sourced using this timeline here. 

I fit into the history that at some point, the Almasy family had risen to power and overthrew the Aldercapt reign, thus giving Seifer's family the throne long enough for Seifer's grandfather and father to both rule for some time. Like the history of the canon lore, the timings of certain events have been ascribed no exact placement in the timeline; therefore, we're going on guesswork. I suppose specific dates aren't terribly important, as by the time the events of FFXV begin, all of this has become old history. 

(So now that has been established) Seifer is the first-born son of His Imperial and Royal Majesty Artos Victarion Almasy. The Almasy family ruled over the Gralean Empire for three generations before a coup that took place in 741. This coup managed to successfully overthrow the Almasy family, restoring Aldercapt as the rightful heir to the throne of Niflheim. 

It was during the coup that Aldercapt made his first order as Emperor to call for the execution of Artos Almasy, his surviving heirs, and those who remained loyal to him. With no choice or means to stay, the Almasy's were forced to flee Niflheim, their titles and nobility stripped and publically denounced, traveling with but the clothes on their back. With but a small party of loyalists, House Almasy successfully sought asylum in Tenebrae, the native country of Seifer's mother, Celina. They remained as loyal guests from the late winter of 741 until the attacks in 744 that took the life of Queen Sylvia.

To maintain consistency with all three verses, this is the same 'prequel' for all XV verses: Imperium, Fidelis, and Primogenitum. Meldacio is an extension of Imperium, which is why it is not included in the list.  The differences between each split off into their own, individual, AUs, the starting point of which being when Niflheim invaded Tenebrae and began to attack Fenestala Manor in 744.

VERSE // IMPERIUM

Following the attacks on Fenestala Manor in 744, Seifer is removed out of Tenebrae and brought to Lucis with King Regis and his son, escaping capture and possible execution. A more elaborate explanation of Seifer's upbringing in Lucis is found here.

As Seifer is of Niflheim origin, it is decided by the council that he will not be able to become a member of the Crownsguard as this would cause dissension in the royal court. He is left to enlist into the ranks of the Kingsglaive.

It is not common knowledge among the Glaives that Seifer is from Niflheim in this verse. Regis, Cor, Clarus, Monica, and Ignis are notable figures that are granted knowledge of Seifer's origins (as the idea of a Nif being in protected Insomnia is enough to cause mass hysteria in a kingdom abundantly sheltered from those seeking to destroy them).

VERSE // FIDELIS

It is important to have read this first so that you can understand this verse to it's fullest extent.

Following the attacks on Fenestala Manor in 744, through persuasive efforts led by Ardyn Izunia, Aldercapt stays his decision to execute Seifer, allowing him to remains on with House Fleuret, raised alongside Luna and Ravus. Once he's become of age, he would be given a choice to join the Niflheim army or swear to serve their house as a Tenebrean Knight, becoming part of Ravus' personal guard.

He chooses to serve Ravus. However, to prevent an uprising, Seifer would be required to denounce his namesake, allowed to now carry his mother's name, De'Chevalier. Info for Seifer’s mother is here.

VERSE // PRIMOGENITUM

Following the attacks on Fenestala Manor in 744, Seifer's mother and father are killed, and Seifer is captured and served up to Aldercapt as a prisoner of war. Through persuasive efforts led by Ardyn Izunia, Seifer spends the next 12 years raised under Ardyn’s protection and occasional tutelage.

Through Ardyn’s calculated and manipulative sway, Seifer is led to believe that he is deserving of the Niflheim throne by birthright. On his 18th birthday, Seifer is encouraged to enlist into the army so that he can rise in command, soon becoming Lieutenant Commander with his own small army of men and women loyal to his cause.

Though he serves the Niflheim Empire, Seifer is aggressively loyal to Ardyn and is one of the many dear ‘friends’ the Chancellor keeps close. Seifer is under the impression that he will one day have his chance to reclaim his own throne and this can only be done through blind loyalty toward dear Uncle Ardyn.

It is important to stress that Ardyn does not foster Seifer, or consider him as anything more than a tool raised up in Ardyn's ideation needed for the succession of his own goals. Sadly, once Seifer has served Ardyn’s purpose… well, we all know how Ardyn handles uselessness..

hmm ig i’ll go with canon for this one because i have many ocs, but uh i really wanna write for seto from fragile dreams. i used to have an ask blog for him back in the day but that died quickly seeing as how dead the fandom is so- but i do love him with all my heart and i would love to be able to someday write him or something

rick riordan, marissa meyer and michelle rowen. i’ve read their books throughout middle school and high school and i still find myself going back to reread their books because i just love how their words flow as well as how engaging their plots are. i honestly hope i can reach rick riordan levels of skill whenever i get around to finishing my own novel!

one would have to be an old rp friend that we sadly don’t talk to anymore since she was the first one i started writing with a lot more back in high school as well as the one who would give me advice on how to improve and just be patient with me when i go stuck with writing our threads and also mikey (@snw-cnvs) since he also supports me outside of rp’ing to get me to write actually fiction drabbles. i just wish i could finish them lmao

all of my ships with mikey no i’m joking lolol i really love my ship with haneul because i’ve had him for two years now and he’s grown a lot because of his ship. he’s someone whose never believed that love was real and sure their relationship is a little rocky, but they both don’t really have the proper understanding for love until waaaay later. i also really love how whenever he’s with obe, he’s able to pull out this different side of haneul, someone whose so overconfident and quick to words, becomes at a loss for words and questioning himself a lot. i just love them best otp

haneul: he loves the rain and he’ll spend it either under an umbrella or just sitting there in the rain just letting it wash away his thoughts and fears for a little bit

Survivor Daemons

Here’s a whole bunch of blabber that no one asked for about my Dbd daemon AU, featuring the reasoning behind the forms of the survivor’s daemons and a little about their personalities. Why? Because I can and I felt like typing a whole bunch of stuff that no one will read

There are a lot of additional rules and complications for daemons in trials, and I’m probably going to make a separate post both for that and for the Killer’s daemons (or... current lack thereof), because this got VERY long.

And before we get started, here’s a plug for my currently abandoned fic playing with this concept. Ima get back to it at some point.

First off, I had some limits for survivor forms. Their daemons have to be small, and easy to carry around in a trial. Most of them ended up being birds, with a couple of exceptions. Also, only a couple of the names mean anything- I got almost all of them from a fantasy name generator and just picked one that sounded nice.

Dwight and Zefrita

Zefrita (Zeffie) is a mourning dove, and I chose her form for a couple of reasons. Mourning doves are entirely defenseless against their predators (except for natural camouflage) and are therefore very flighty, anxious birds. They are also known for forming close, lifelong pair-bonds, and since Dwight’s perks are all about teamwork and literal bonds between survivors, that seemed to resonate with him.

Zefrita is a very quiet daemon, and only talks to the other survivor’s daemons (and Dwight, of course). While Dwight stammers and hesitates a lot when he’s flustered or anxious, Zefrita only talks when they have enough conviction about something that she can articulate it clearly. So, it’s a pretty big deal if she says something important- it usually means that it is.

Meg and Skiflit

Skiflit (Skif) is a northern goshawk. I used this analysis to come up with his form, mostly because of the interpretations of loyalty, determination/being goal-driven, and assertiveness, which I all think fit with Meg- or at least, my version of Meg, who’s caring but a bit of a hothead.

Skif talks about as much as Meg does, which is quite a lot, especially in fireside arguments. He’s also the most likely to get physical with the other daemons, whether aggressively or for support/comfort.

Jake and Dancha

Dancha (Dawn) is a raccoon, which I just love for Jake for so many reasons and I was so happy that the form analysis worked out. It really boils down to what he said in the actual fic- they’re highly adaptable/resourceful, conflict-avoidant, and independent animals. Their also curious but in a killed-the-cat sort of way, which seems true to Jake’s character to me.

Dawn tends to let Jake do most of the talking, and really only interacts with the original four survivors daemons, sometimes including Nea and Laurie’s daes if she feels up to it. She and Jake are pretty slow to trust, and even though they feel perfectly comfortable around all the survivors (though they clash with Ace) Dawn keeps her interactions to a minimum to stay in her comfort zone. They don’t have much of any comfort left, after all.

Claudette and Laefertes

Laefertes (Laef) is a barn owl, and I actually think I named him after Laertes from Hamlet for some reason? I think I just had the name stuck in my head, no significance to it. The two traits that really stuck out to me for his form were barn owls having a surprising amount of foresight in caching their extra food and their egg care habits, and the analysis I read also listed owls as being very perceptive, for obvious reasons, which fits well with Claudette’s Empathy (perk and trait) to me.

Claudette and Laef are kind of the greeters of the group, so when someone new shows up at the campfire they do all the explaining and “welcome to a Bad Time” talk. Claudette tends to say more comforting things than hard truths, and Laef compliments her by being the opposite- almost anything out of his mouth is what needs to be said, not necessarily what people want to hear.

Nea and Bayonai

Bayonai (Bayo) is a Siamese cat and listen I have a lot of reasons for it. He’s a cat for obvious reasons- Baker literally describes Nea as catlike in the journal entry- as well as cats being generally friendly, but independent for the most part. Siamese cats in particular are known for being loud attention seekers like no other, and we know that Nea was the epitome of Rebellious Teen (tm) in her day. They also tend to be curious (again, in a killed-the-cat sort of way).

Bayo is my favorite daemon of the bunch, probably because I started writing him first. He and Nea are less counterparts of one another than they are the same person divided into two parts. Bayo has a little more of their caution, but he’s like the friend who is saying “this is a terrible idea, oh my god” while filming it. They have street smarts more than school smarts, but Bayo has a little bit of an edge on Nea when it comes to critical thinking.

Laurie and Aurelio

Aurelio (Ori, which accidentally means they’re Laurie and Ori) is a European robin. His name comes from the Latin word for golden. His form was really hard to find, mostly because the original survivors have just a few canon character traits, whereas Laurie Strode has a whole franchise worth of characterization to sort through. I ended up just using Halloween I and II for my form finding. I used this analysis for Aurelio and I don’t have much to say about it, other than I was relieved to finally find a form that fit.

Aurelio and Laurie are Survivors (tm) in the truest sense of the word, so in my ‘verse they’re kind of dry and cynical. Aurelio tends not to talk very much, and when he does he often says things that are too dark for the conversation he’s contributing to, and is reprimanded by Laurie. They had a perfectly normal human-daemon bond before Myers, but it changed after, and they were never the same.

Ace and Kesina

Kesina (Kess or occasionally Kesi) is an American bullfrog. She’s the only reptile form among the survivors. I’m honestly not even going to say anything else about her form, just link to the analysis because IMO it’s so Ace it hurts. Laid-back is the main trait that I like that I don’t see listed as a major point in the analysis, but frogs are chill as fuck.

Kesina says all the sarcastic and biting things that Ace doesn’t, but in a dismissively calm way that gets a rise out of whoever she’s said it to. Not that he wouldn’t, it’s just funnier if she calls Jake a dumbass in Argentine Spanish than if he does. She and Ace talk to each other almost exclusively in that dialect when they’re being snarky or sarcastic, even if they’re doing the “what do you want to have for dinner!?” routine, because no one can understand what they’re saying and it pisses everyone else off.

Bill and Portril

Portril (no nickname) is a summer tanager, a kind of smallish songbird. Frankly there’s not very much personality lore for Bill out there, even in what Left 4 Dead stuff I tried to dig up, so I went with my personal HC’s for him- grumpy and quiet but altruistic and perceptive old man. Here’s the analysis if anyone is actually reading this, but this is more for my own benefit let’s be real. There’s not a ton of real solid behavior for summer tanagers, but I liked what this person wrote so I went with it.

Bill is quiet and Portril is quieter. Bill contributes a few sentences to the conversation at the campfire every now and then, but the majority of the survivors have never heard Portril say a word.

Feng and Maeslin

Maeslin (Maes) is a numbat (google it), and tbh I should have picked a Chinese-sounding name for him, but I’m too attached to Feng having a daemon she calls Mace to change it. I’d never heard of a numbat before form finding for Feng, but I love how well the weird little things fit with her character. Numbats are specialized eaters and ONLY eat termites. They have to eat 20,000 of the things a day to stay alive. What I get out of that is that the are specialized/single-focus type people, like Feng and her gaming, and work really fucking hard to be good/keep at it.

I haven’t done a lot of thinking about Maes’ personality. I think he and Feng are a Chaotic Neutral disaster duo. He’s a very mobile daemon and tends to climb all over Feng, never staying in one place for too long- it’s a habit he learned very quickly to not bring into trials.

David and Ezriana

Ezriana (Ez) is a magnificent frigatebird and it’s SUCH a shame that she’s not male, because the main reason I picked that form for David is because of the absolute pompous showoffs that male frigatebirds are with that throat pouch of theirs. Frigatebirds are also known for being opportunistically aggressive and basically getting into fights with other species of coastal birds to steal their catches. There’s some more, non-fighty traits that made me decide on frigatebird for Ezriana, but those are really the two main reasons I picked it.

Ezriana is kinda the “kick his ass baby I got yo flower” of the pair, and she always tends to kind of stay out of the thick of it, circling overhead and yelling out insults and encouragement. Her actual personality is pretty laid back when not in conflict mode, and she’s pretty good for conversation around the campfire. Her way of talking is a little more... coherent.. than David, who’s excitable and can get a little carried away.

Quentin and Nynta

Nynta (Nyn, pronounced Nihn) is an earwig. Earwigs are tough little insects and are very adaptable and actually protect their eggs and then care for their young, showing a lot of duty and dedication. I think that fits with what I managed to gather of Quentin’s role in NoES 2010, which I haven’t actually watched. Additionally, fitting into the daemonverse, earwigs are very small, and Quentin keeps Nynta in a lanyard, so that Freddy and no one else has any possible access to touching her.

Nynta never talks, period. No one knows what her and Quentin’s relationship is like, taking into consideration Laurie and Aurelio’s slightly trauma-damaged bond, but everyone knows that Nynta probably doesn’t trust anyone. They’ve never seen her outside of her clear plastic lanyard, which locks from the inside with a one digit combination that only Nynta can open. I imagine she probably settled during the events of NoES 2010.

Tapp and Soliel

Soliel (Sol) is a Florida scrub jay. Scrub jays are committed birds, both to their mates and their territory, and keen and clever observers of what happens in their area and to their things (food caches and stuff). These to me seem like good traits to match a detective’s personality. These birds are also highly specialized to their environment, though, and are unadaptable- that combination of traits makes sense, because Tapp became borderline obsessed with the Saw case in his lore.

Soliel is as focused as her human is, and accepts facts and information readily. Being older than most of the others, she tends not to talk too much unless they’re having an interesting discussion, rather than a time-killing or social conversation.

Kate and Torelian

Torelian (Tori) is a fennec fox. Fennec foxes are super extroverted and sociable animals, and tough critters that are well adapted for going long periods of time without commodities, but not without other people around them. Kate traveled a lot for her music career, but she seems to me like a caring and outgoing person that really connected with her fans. He also matches her aesthetic, and is a cute/attractive form- perfect for a performer’s daemon.

Torelian is as much of a performer as Kate. He can’t play and instrument, but they can sing duets and are, of course, completely in sync at all times. It’s great for cheering up the campfire after rough trials and moments of (extra) hopelessness. He’s a good ear to talk to and offers wholesome advice.

Adam and Samia

Samia (no nickname) is a northern cardinal. I chose the form this morning and frankly I’m tired of resummarizing bird analyses at this point, so here ya go.

I’ve done no character exploration for Samia yet, might edit this when/if I come up with some more for her. Most of the daemons outside the first five or six I’ve done more developing here than otherwise, so we’ll see!

Jenn Recommends: Fantasy

All right, kids; it’s that time again. Time for me to babble on for an obnoxiously long time about books I have read and adored, and time for you to just shut the fuck up and take all my advice, because I have great taste.

Since this recommendation list concerns fantasy, all of the following books are actually part of a series, because it is illegal for fantasy authors to write standalone novels: they will be publicly executed for devoting anything less than 3,000 pages to Timmy’s sword and stones. You know this is true because you just read it on the internet.

If You Like: Political intrigue, really hot people, + everyone and their brother being canonically gay as fuck.

Read: The Kushiel’s Legacy series by Jacqueline Carey.

This series starts with Kushiel’s Dart, and there are actually two trilogies worth reading in this world: Phedre’s (the first trilogy) and Imriel’s (the second, which I may like even better). We do not talk about the third trilogy. In this write-up, I’m just going to talk about the first trilogy, but if you enjoy it, I definitely encourage you to read the next three books.

Phèdre nó Delaunay is a courtesan who was born with a scarlet mote in her left eye--a mark of the god to let others know that she’s into really kinky shit. You cannot spank this bitch hard enough. As a child she is sold into indentured servitude, and bought by a man who recognizes the mote in her eye for what it is and what it signifies--namely, that people who sexually enjoy having the ever-loving fuck beat out of them are pretty much up for anything, which means she will make a great spy.

So that is what she is trained in--not just the arts of the bedroom, but the arts of overhearing everything meant for non-State-approved ears. Of course because this is a novel and something has to happen in it, she stumbles upon a plot against the throne that gets a lot of people stabbed multiple times and throws her and her hapless goddammit-this-is-my-first-real-assignment bodyguard into a Perilous Journey that spans Many Lands.

Two things I really love about this series: the world building and the casual approach to homosexuality.

The various different countries are obviously based heavily upon European history and lore, but she’s done enough research to really flesh them out. We don’t just have a few generic descriptions here and there of vaguely European geography, but actual religions and languages and histories which are more than just given a hasty, passing mention to conjure the illusion that the world is more tangible than it actually is: you can taste and touch and hear Terre d’Ange.

As for the casual homosexuality: the main pairing is hetero, but Phedre takes several female lovers, because in Terre d’Ange, the one rule by which everyone must abide is ‘Love as thou wilt’. No one is really straight or gay; sexuality isn’t really a thing, labels aren’t a thing; people bone who they bone and nobody bats an eye. Kind of like Ancient Greece, till it came time for you to stop porking Archimedes during oily wrestling sessions and churn out a couple of brats. Sex work in this world is also considered in the service of the goddess, and those engaged in it are bestowing a blessing on their customers; it is an honorable and profitable line of work.

I honestly could not put these books down. I have two copies of the third book in this trilogy because I ordered it online while halfway through the second, then promptly panicked when I realized it wouldn’t arrive in time for me to immediately begin the third as soon as I finished the second novel. I actually drove an hour and a half to the nearest Barnes and Noble just so I didn’t have to wait two agonizing days for the next book to arrive. The writing can be a little heavy-handed (think purple euphemisms for a man’s steely pleasure wand, etc.), but overall it’s gripping and lush and I could barely stop reading long enough to take bathroom breaks.

If You Like: Bleak stories where probably nobody is ever going to get anything more than a brief glimpse of happiness before it’s cruelly torn away from them and legitimately creepy monsters.

Read: The Banned and the Banished series by James Clemens.

This series on the surface is your fairly generic Evil Dark Lord vs. Savior Newly Awakened To Their Powers. Elena is a thirteen-year-old girl who has just been visited for the very first time by the dreaded Aunt Flo. With puberty comes the blossoming of new powers: a red hand that shoots a lot of fire out of it, a power I would’t mind having while trying to navigate a bunch of idiot-inflicted traffic. Over the course of the five books in the series, she picks up her Adventure Party and they sally forth to do battle with the Dark Lord’s minions (of which there are a metric fuck ton, in scientific terms). Some parts begin to feel a little monster-of-the-week, as the protagonists barely have time to take a breath in between waves of tentacly evil.

So why I am I recommending this series? Because Clemens is not content with just scattering some generic tropes around the page and calling it good: he wants you to go, “What the FUCK, dude??”. A lot. This is probably the only book in which you will encounter a woman letting a bunch of spiders crawl into her vagina. Or later giving birth to those spiders, which have, upon the touch of the Dark Lord, transformed into a monster that smells like dead baby and eats people’s faces. I recently came across this series in Russian and have been rereading it as a 31-year-old adult, and there are scenes which even now thoroughly traumatize me; it really explains why I am the way I am, since I first read the beginning books when I was only 11-12.

This series is surprisingly hard to put down; I suppose it’s because you are compelled (or at least I am) to find out what the hell kind of nasty thing is next going to emerge from the forest and inspire you to check under your bed at night even though you’re a goddamn adult. This series is not for the faint of heart, obviously. But if you like dark fantasy, and you’re into the idea of reading something that on the surface seems a pretty standard fantasy tale before it suddenly starts hurling vagina spiders all up your business, check it out. Also, if you’ve read any of my work and you’d like to know just what the fuck is wrong with me, I believe this series can throw a little light on that.

If You Like: A protagonist who won’t take your shit but also is allowed to be emotionally vulnerable, Chinese history, detailed military campaigns.

Read: The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang.

Rin, a war orphan raised by shitty foster parents in a backwoods village, is accepted into a prestigious military academy where pretty much everyone, teachers included, hates her because she’s a peasant and this school is for the sons of rich people, goddammit. Rin is talented in the nearly lost art of shamanism because she’s the main character of a fantasy novel, and it is only her newly-found powers that have a chance of halting the advance of the Federation as they march upon the Nikara Empire, intent on conquering (and graphically torture murdering) everything in its path. On the flip side: her powers have also been known to turn literally all their wielders into raging loonies who have to be imprisoned for the good of everyone.

My ignorance of Chinese history is absolute, so I’ve no idea where the author (herself Chinese, and an historian, I believe) is pulling from in order to build the foundations of her world, but it’s obvious she has done a lot of research and painstakingly agonized over every little detail. It’s nice to finally step away from the usual Euro-centric world of much Western fantasy, and into one so fully fleshed-out.

This story actually reminds me in some ways of Mulan: the unlikely protagonist bests nearly everyone in all of her training--but only because she works three times harder than anyone else, and no one particularly admires her for it, saving her from Mary Suedom. She’s intelligent and determined, but nothing comes easily (especially when one of your masters is more than a little unhinged). She has exactly one friend, and spends most of her time trying to read her way to a better martial artist. 

This is not, however, a school story; and though the characters are 16-17 when they first enter the academy, it is not a YA story either. It is a story about war, and the author has no interests in presenting war as anything other than it is: revolting, traumatizing, horrific. There are some very graphic depictions of violence, so if you do not have the stomach for that, this is not the book for you.  Neither massacres nor first kills are glossed over; everything is presented exactly as it looks, smells, feels. 

Because life is never one long angst-ridden slog, however, and there was always something, before war, there are moments of legit humor; I actually laughed out loud at several lines. And that leads me to something else the author does very well: dialogue.  Much dialogue is an excuse for the author to sound worldly, wise--poetic. It also often hardly sounds like human speech. Real humans, even articulate, intelligent humans, do not shit a fucking Keats verse every time they open their mouths. In The Poppy War, people, wonder of wonders, actually sound like people; perhaps even more notable: teenagers sound like teenagers.

Stylistically, this book is utilitarian; I won’t be highlighting any phrases because they’ve left me awestruck. But it is not lightweight fantasy; the main characters wield terrifying powers with immense consequences. They are mangled, tortured, killed; some of them are drug addicts because only in opium can they find a momentary release from what they have survived. It’s a hold-onto-your-balls-kids kind of story. This is the first novel in a purported trilogy, and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the rest of the series.

How strictly do you follow canon?  — I try to stick to it, but I do take quite a few liberties mainly with the fact that Link’s training as a knight did not just happen when he pulled the sword. He doesn’t have a sister, and the picture from Creating a Champion is his cousin and Uncle rather than his father and sister. Other than that the liberties I take are derived from canon events.

SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  — I don’t play him how the fandom interprets him. And I know that may seem like a bad thing but its not. As someone who suffers from amnesia ( for a completely different reason than Link ) I come at it from a different perspective than “oh his whole personality changed cause he can’t remember anything. I play him more controlled and looking for a balance of what he lost and what he has found because going to far one way or the other is destructive to him, he wants that balance and has yet to find it. I don’t stray away from the fact that he does not want to burden people no matter what it is, and instead wants to help people, Link has a problem with saying no, its like not in his vocabulary, and that can be unhealthy especially when it comes to things he blames himself for. He is so complex and I try to make that be shown, I don’t want to slip into just seeing him as one way or the other because he is not feral, but at the same time he isn’t completely stone faced either.

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  — I mean people could see him as just one thing. And honestly not gonna lie the fandom kinda does. They common phrase I see describing this version of Link is “wild gremlin child” or “feral” and that doesn’t interest me because in my opinion no matter your play style whether you are speed running the game or just playing casually nothing ever exudes that kind of energy. I don’t find that interesting at all, and I find it a gross over simplification of his character, which the fandom at large tends to disagree with me on.

What inspired you to rp your muse?  — I love fantasy and the game. I love Breath of the Wild immensely. I have always loved Zelda but our games when I was a kid were my sister’s and I was not allowed to touch or mess with her stuff including her gameboy and games and shit. So Breath of the Wild was my first real experience with a Zelda game. I fell in love with Link and the story, and people say this game has no story and i disagree just because it is told retroactively does not mean there is not a story at all. Also its called the Legend of Zelda, Link has never been who the legends are about he is just the hero. So the Zelda focused story really intrigued me, but what intrigued me more were just the nuggets we got about Link. And I just had to expand on that and him.

What keeps your inspiration going? — Playing the game, talking to people, Watching zelda tubers even if I disagree with some shit they say. Always trying to come up with my own ideas and ways to make my version of this Link stand out and be different from other Links but other versions of this specific Link. I don’t want my version to be a copy, or even necessarily the exact same as what the game wants us to think.

Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO. ( I don’t think I do. I wish I did, and certainly try, but i always see people who just do him better. )

Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO. ( I want to, I desperately want to. Particularly regarding Link and the Sheikah and learning their techniques. But I also don’t want to encroach on other players because what if someone one day decides to write a person I wrote a drabble about or with? )

Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day?  YES / NO.

Are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO ( As stated above, no. I wish I was. But every time I post a headcanon or reply I suddenly feel that I wrote everything wrong. I disagree with how Wild (my Link) is portrayed alot, and I know my version isn’t popular because of that, and it sucks. I know their are other better versions of my muse cause I see them, and I am so happy for them, but it also means I get shy about anything in regards to my portrayal. )

Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO. ( And to think I want to be a lawyer with my sentence structure. )

Are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO. ( Kinda yeah )

Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  — Sure. Why not? The only thing is if you’re going to be hyper critical be nice about it. If you’re just gonna send hate that’s not criticism. And let me explain, you are allowed to dislike my portrayal of Link, giving me reasons why you dislike my version, and what would make you like him is not hate. Saying that my version of Link sucks, is hate.

Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  — PLEASE SEND THEM TO ME!

If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  — Of course. I write Wild pretty controversially especially within the popularlized Linked Universe, and stuff, so if someone disagrees with why I have certain headcanons I’d love to know why. Generally it will probably come down to Master Works or something. But sill I’d love to know why.

If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  — I mean its fine. Its my portrayal, I am allowed to write Link how I want. Will I be down in the dumps about it for a bit? Yeah, probably, but who wouldn’t. The thing is I am a people pleaser so someone disagreeing with my portrayal will upset me a bit, but the thing is I’ll be upset because I want to make them happy, but I also want to stay true to my writing beliefs and how I write Link and how I think Link should be played. I don’t like that coming into conflict. It would be me more upset at myself for not pleasing someone than someone disagreeing with my portrayal.

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  — Ignore it and move on. Well I would try. But hopefully if you hate Link you’re not writing with him.

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  — Yes. Please if you want to correct my grammar please do. I take no offense. I don’t proofread my shit. So like go ahead you little grammar person. Be happy. I know my grammar is shit.

Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   —  I like to think so. But at the same time I get the feeling people are scared to talk to me ooc cause I have very few ooc interactions with people. I am not good at simple like “how’s your day” conversations. I do not do well with small talk, and that may make me seem closed off. But come screaming at me about a zelda theory or about your character and I will scream right along with you.

My Opinions of Swain's Potential Direction

As someone who follows Updates and Champion Design, I'll give my perspective and opinion.

They'll definitely try to design a Controller; "Controllers are defensive casters that oversee the battlefield by protecting and opening up opportunities for their allies. A subclass of Controllers is Disruptors - Disruptors specialize in locking down opponents or, in some cases, entire battlefields by creating intense zones of threat that only foolish enemies would dare wade through. Although not as reliant on their friends as Enchanters, the fragile and immobile Disruptors greatly benefit from allied presence - both to deter incoming danger and to help capitalize on targets they’ve locked down." - RiotStatikk. This feels like the best direction to take Swain in thematically and mechanically to preserve the character that Swain currently presents.

The elements in Swain's current kit that are "iconic," that are easily recognized and ingrained the League community's mind.

[Q] Decrepify - It's pretty much the second thing that comes to mind after saying "Swain." This is going to either get relegated to being a part of another move or extremely played up. If it were played down the theme of crows cleaning up the battlefield is something that will likely be played up, perhaps this could be shifted into something similar to Jhin's Trap - that killing enemies makes their corpses into activated traps, perhaps something similar could be done? Otherwise, this ability will be transferred into a strong part of his new kit with some new mechanics that are key to his skill rotation.

[W] Nevermove - Even though I'm fairly certain this will be significantly played down or changed completely in function, it's appearance is something that everyone remembers about fighting Swain. Controlling the flow of battle is something this skill definitely achieves, but feels lackluster when you miss it.

[R] Ravenous Flock - You know how I said Decrepify is the second thing people think of? This is the first. Big angry birdman sucking out your soul like a pissed dementor coming from an aviary. This will be incorporated in a big way, either his passive or ult will contain this iconic transformation ability. If any inspirations are to be had for creating this thematic; Generals and mythic tyrants such Vortigern, Genghis Khan, Hannibal Barca, and Alexander the Great who have mythic auras surrounding them. Commanding the siege from the backlines before unleashing hell like a warrior-king after carefully laid plans - adds flavor and player fantasy.

Elements that'll definitely be removed or extremely downplayed and changed drastically. 

[Passive] Carrion Renewal - They've been building up Swain in the lore as Betrayer, a Military Genius, a Tyrant willing to take necessary steps to conquer Valoran. Reaping rewards from the dead seems like it'll applied to his new kit, but not this. Mana renewal isn't exciting as healing nor something Riot approves of kindly, something will be done to alleviate mana issue, but this has gotta to go since so many Mages have striking similar passives and bring Swain a better in-game identity.

[E] Torment - This skill is literally boring, a point and click mini-Deathfire Grasp and Riot has has probably had this is their iron sights since DFG's removal. I understand that Swain mains might enjoy it for it's raw power, but the way it's animated and how it functions puts it first on the chopping block.

Themes (not Mechanics), that'll potentially be a part of the new Swain. 

Blood Cult - They've been hinted at, and this could be a chance to explore it since what pairs better than blood, war and ravens?

The Black Rose & Necromancy - This isn't potential, this is for certain. The esoteric, secret wisdom and magic is something entwined with him now after Sion's Lore revealed a peek into the narrative's view of Swain in-canon: "The elder Darkwill was well versed in the art of necromancy. It will take me decades to pore through his library of grimoires, but that will be time I can steal, as he did." Necromantic magic, stealing resources from the dead is nicely paired with the raven thematic. Rioter Reav3 even commented on delving more into Swain's Warlock theme!

Grand General & Noxian Revival - Swain's personality I imagine is much like an amalgamation of Frank Underwood, Julius Caesar, Tywin Lannister and Odin. Manipulative, cunning, and thrives in hectic environments as well as being associated with dark themes such as death, betrayal, and conquest. He's definitely a man in pursuit of knowledge and power at any cost and he knows how to draw others to side as well. Working in the shadows however isn't his gist, sure he does it, but his real ability is how he maneuvers in a public eye to his favor while remaining unrevealed in his dark machinations. Him being able to control the pace and flow of a battle is something that should be emphasized.

As the new Grand General after the death of Keiran Darkwill, we've yet to see his intentions and direction for Noxus (which most of my lore presumption includes solidifying Noxus as Unitary State controlled by the Military - since it currently feels more like the lovechild of the Byzantine Empire, French Aristocracy, and the Classical Roman Empire).

So, I definitely feel he'll get an array of voice lines suited to this, to express the enigmatic and charismatic nature he should possess. This should also play into the renaming of his abilities into things that are more appropriate for wizened, scheming conqueror

This all I have in mind right now. Any feedback (including mistakes I've made) is appreciated.

TL;DR - Swain might become a Disruptor keeping his Q,W, and R skills in some way. He might become more ruthless as a character and a champion with subthemes of Necromancy, Blood Magic, & Conquest.
