The Eras Tour: Paris Night 1 (My Thoughts)
ALLLLLLLLRIGHT. So because @bettysgarden12 wanted to know my reactions and thoughts on everything that happened today, I thought I would share with the rest of yous. It's probably not going to be very in depth or analytical so fair warning on that hehe. Also this probably isn't in order of the show because my memory is trash haha.
1.First things first. The lover bodysuit. WHaT iN ThE FRiLly HeLl?!?!? I literally still don't know whether or not I dreamt of seeing that new bodysuit. Definitely, lesbian colors represented there and it was confirmed with the orange blazer she wore for The Man. It was not an accident I'm sure to have the inside be pink too.
(Side note: we all knew that The Archer was going to get cut. It actually makes a lot of sense too. I think we are past Taylor asking us to stay, not that she doesn't still hope us too. It's more like she is fine with blowing everything up now instead of focusing on the worry of messing everything up. At least I hope that is the case. We're here for ya Taylor. You got this.)
2. Second, the Fearless dress. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I also saw that it looks really reminiscent of the original dress she wore for her Fearless tour. It's almost like she is going back to what once was.
3. Third, transitioning right into Red was something. The new Red shirt says "This is not Taylor's Version" when Red is in fact Taylor's again. Some of my moots pointed out that it could be referencing the whole Real Taylor vs Taylor The Brand theory that we as a community have been developing for quite some time. With this thinking, it would mean that the Taylor we are seeing is not someone Taylor claims as her own or something like that. It's not truly her which we all knew already.
4. Fourth, we saw a new intro for Speak Now (now officially just Enchanted since Long Live has been axed.) I don't have much to say on that other than I wasn't surprised that Long Live got cut. This cut also makes sense if we are thinking that Taylor is gonna burn it down. No more reminding about the good times or the "needing" fans to stand by her forever.
5. Fifth, combining folklore and evermore was unexpected but also not? Idk it made sense and to me it just seems like it was easier to combine them since room had to be made for TTPD.
6. Sixth, Rep was Rep. Nothing really changed from what I could tell or remember other than THE FREAKING GLASS CASES SHATTERING!!! YOU BREAK THAT GLASS CLOSET TAYLOR! WHOOP WHOOP!
7. Seventh, 1989 outfit was...something. It's just not my cup of tea visually. I DID NOT notice the lion or tiger(???) charm she had on until someone else pointed it out. Very interesting either way.
8. Eighth, putting TTPD before Midnights was an interesting choice. The whole theory that we still have to meet her at Midnight (credit to my moots for pointing this out again) is supported by this I think.
9. Ninth, the dress for TTPD is amazing!! And so are the other two outfits. The marching band uniform and it's possible reference back to ME! music video? It has me in shambles.
10. Tenth, the performance for Who Afraid of Little Old Me was visually amazing and she sang it beautifully (no surprise there) with such emotion that it was impossible for me to look away. Her levitating across the stage was also freaking awesome!
11. Next the empty cages imagery?? The nurses pulling her away from her lover??? The image of her crouching in the middle of this weird ass place??? That one really kind of freaked me out. It was eerie and heartbreaking in a way I'm not quite able to explain at this moment.
12. I was conflicted about I Can Do It With A Broken Heart both before, during, and after the performance. I had a feeling she was going to perform it and I kind of wanted her to just to hear her sing it live but then not because I knew how the fans were going to react. I really did face-palm when everyone yelled "More!" on the livestream but we all knew they were going to. The transition into ICDIWABH made me want to throw something at the TV but I also did snort on the petulance on Taylor's face for the little act. I really liked the old Hollywood theme for the visuals and the dance. It was pleasing to watch. BY THE WAY....HAVING THE OUTFIT FOR ICDIWABH ECHO HER OUTFITS ON REP IS REALLY SOMETHING. She bamboozled me again.
13. Midniiiiiiights. THE BODYSUIT IS MY FAVORITE ONE OUT OF THE ONES WE HAVE SEEN SO FAR. I'm glad that Mastermind was kept. I didn't think that she would have taken away anything from the Midnights era but if there was I had this weird concern that it would be Mastermind. Thank god my anxiety was unnecessary.
14. The surprise soooooongs~ Paris is a favorite of mine so I'm happy she played it but also of course she did. That was another predictable thing that happened. Her performance of loml was again heartfelt. She seems really happy to sing these new songs and it shows.
15. I am pretty freaking sure that the Bejeweled lights were a LOT more colorful and rainbowy than usual. Was that just me? Please tell me it wasn't just me!
Overall, it is safe to say that I was not prepared for the absolute chaos that today brought.
Taylor, it seems like you're really doing this (I reeeeeally hope that is the case) and I'm so happy for you if that is what is happening. You do you and you show us what's up. I'm looking forward to it. <3

Today was a fairytale funeral
“I have this dream my daughter in law kills me for the money. She thinks I left them in the will.”
Tumblr media
I recently made a post about Cinderella and how the inner version of Taylor became exiled during the fearless era, and then a few hours later Taylor sang 'today was a fairytale' and 'exile' during the surprise song set on the eras tour. The combination of these two songs reveal the contrast between the dreams vs reality that Taylor faced as a young woman entering the music industry.
This is going to be another long really long post, but it's worth sticking around until the end...
The fairytale
Taylor's earlier albums heavily featured fairytale themes, especially within the fearless era. The song 'today was a fairytale' originally debuted on the valentines day movie Taylor Swift featured in, with Taylor Lautner playing her high school boyfriend. This movie follows the journey of several characters simultaneously, revealing the connections between them all along the way.
Tumblr media
When 'today was a fairytale' was added to the fearless tour in 2010, it was the first of several songs performed in a black and silver cocktail dress. The visuals in the background depict a forest scene, reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet sneaking away during 'love story'. Taylor also wears a very similar dress during the 'our song' music video as she's singing "I didn't kiss 'er and I should have".
Tumblr media
Taylor also performed 'today was a fairytale' during the 2010 Grammys where Stevie Nicks joined her on stage. For this performance Taylor was wearing a blouse reminiscent of the Romeo look that’s seen on the cover of the fearless re-record. Notably, Eric Dane from Grey's anatomy played a famous football player for the valentines day movie. His character came out as gay during a press conference when many were anticipating his retirement. And at the end of the tour Taylor wore a patriots jersey for her performance of 'today was a fairytale' at the Gillette stadium.
Tumblr media
Exiled
Following the incident with Kanye West interrupting her acceptance speech at the country music awards show, the speak now tour reveals subtle references to this negative experience and how it had affected Taylor going forward. The 'speak now' performance in particular features Taylor interrupting a wedding that’s taking place on stage as she proceeds to drag the groom into the crowd.
Tumblr media
After losing him along the way, Taylor reaches a lone tree in the crowd. She begins singing 'fearless' on a ukulele with a brief cover of 'I'm yours' by Jason Mraz mixed in. "I won't hesitate no more." Taylor then transitions into playing 'last kiss' on the koi fish guitar. "When we say hello, and it's magical, we never imagine that hello could someday turn into a goodbye." The combination of all of these elements is a visual representation of the outer version of Taylor saying goodbye as the inner version of Taylor became exiled.
Tumblr media
Fast forward to the release of fearless Taylor's version and we can start to see the evidence of this separation. The lyric video for 'today was a fairytale' is full of duplicated pictures of Taylor from the past, all with varying levels of saturation. This feels like an introduction to the layers of Taylor that have developed over time. The Taylor on the left represents the exiled inner Taylor who is hiding behind a mask. The Taylor on the right represents the outer version of Taylor that is acting as a facade to conceal the layers underneath, just like a set of nesting dolls. And the middle layers represent the different versions of Taylor that have been added over the years. No matter which layer you're looking at, it is acting as both a mask and a facade for the inner and outer layers on either side.
Tumblr media
There are many versions of Taylor seen throughout her music videos. I began seeing them as a set of nesting dolls as a way to make sense of the many versions of Taylor we've seen over the years. And it was all inspired by The Truman Show. The director (director Taylor) created Truman as a true man (regular Taylor/Taylor ™), but he was acting like everyone else around him by wearing a mask (pop star Taylor) but they saw him as a character (giant Taylor). Truman lied to everyone around him to protect the inner version of himself underneath (inner Taylor). We all have differing opinions on who Taylor is underneath the pop star persona (straight, queer etc), but the secret to seeing the innermost layer of Taylor is to understand that the outermost version of Taylor exists too. Taylor has been directing herself in the sense that she's created her own layers, but keep in mind that she wouldn't be referencing Truman's story so heavily if there wasn't someone in her life playing this role too.
Tumblr media
A cry for help
This was just supposed to be a brief post about the connection between the two surprise songs, but it felt like Taylor was leaning over my shoulder saying "you know this is about the Truman show too right?!" So if you haven't read this post about The Truman Show yet, I'd highly recommend you do so before proceeding.
It's no coincidence that Taylor has referenced Truman's story so much throughout her work because she relates to his story on a personal level. Truman kept talking about how he wanted to get out of town and travel to Fiji, each time forcing the director to retaliate by trying harder to make him stay in Seahaven and continue being the star of the show. Taylor's version of leaving town was leaving her old record label and her plans of going to Fiji was talking about wanting to come out as queer in a similar way.
The 'anti hero' music video is a direct reference to the scene after Truman's first attempt to escape. In hindsight, this attempt was set up to fail as a test run to find out what roadblocks could hinder his real plan to escape. Taylor left her old record label at this point, but her fight for her plans didn't stop there. The aesthetic of the lover era hinted at Taylor's big plans to come out at the time, but this was quickly sabotaged by the sale of her masters. Chronologically, this music video depicts the fallout from that experience.
Tumblr media
Truman had slowly been drawing the viewers attention to the flaws and behaviour of the people around him. This gave the viewer a chance to pick up on the clues that he wasn't happy with living a life that had been scripted for him. His wife Meryl advertising a product while trying to offer to help him is seen as the final straw, but in hindsight Truman had known all along that this type of behaviour wasn't genuine. As Taylor cuts into her food, purple glitter begins to ooze out of the egg yolk. The way that the food is arranged as a smiley face feels like a metaphor for how delicate the facade is that Taylor has created to conceal the inner versions of herself. How someone looks on the outside doesn't always reflect how they feel on the inside. This is what Truman meant when he told the director that he couldn't see inside his head. Taylor is showing us that we only see the mask she's hiding behind and that the Easter eggs she's left along the way point to who she really is on the inside. We just need to view them through the context of the Truman show.
Tumblr media
When Truman finally confronts Meryl she calls out for help even though no one else is around. It becomes clear that she is talking to the director who is in charge behind the scenes. Taylor appears to be scared as she tries to call for help, only to reveal that the cord had been cut. This suggests that the phone and house is part of a set and that the act of calling for help was just a visible way to show how Taylor feels on the inside.
Tumblr media
Truman purposely escalated the situation with Meryl because it was a part of his plan to encourage her to leave. He couldn't progress to the next stage with her watching over him. Taylor also appeared to be scared because she was confronted with the ghosts of her past self. They follow her around the house, but the ghosts in the mirror imply that they've been there the whole time. Taylor's just drawing our attention to them now because she knows what will happen next. Both Taylor and Truman are wanting us to see the director's role in their lives because their actions have always had the same consequences.
Tumblr media
To calm Truman down, his best friend Marlon is sent in to intervene. He walks in carrying a six pack of beer, his usual excuse to show up unannounced. When Taylor™ (the Truman version of Taylor) reaches the front door, she opens it to find the pop star version of herself. This appears to indicate that she has answered the call, but we can infer from Truman's situation that it's actually the director attempting to remediate the situation.
Tumblr media
When Truman and Marlon get together, Marlon is subtly guiding Truman to follow the script the director has laid out. And at the same time, Truman is subtly revealing what he needs help with on the outside for his big escape plan. As the two versions of Taylor begin taking shots together Taylor™ becomes more in sync with pop star Taylor over time. This means Taylor™ is being guided, just like Truman was.
Tumblr media
Dead inside
As we see giant Taylor for the first time she had interrupted a dinner party and the scene feels similar to when Truman tried to leave town on the bus. Truman was again drawing our attention to how strangely everyone has always reacted in his presence. In this case, the dinner party guests reacting to the giant Taylor could be a reference to her level of fame or her queerness. Either way, her size implies that she's the elephant in the room. An archer shoots her with an arrow and this shows that the giant Taylor bleeds purple glitter, just like the egg did. She attempts to drink from a bottle of wine but discovers it had run out. This is a reference to Alice in Wonderland drinking to shrink in size and suggests that the giant Taylor just wanted a chance to fit in.
Tumblr media
Truman and Marlon found a way to communicate with each other very subtly in plain sight, to the point that it's undetectable unless you're looking for it. The pop star Taylor is doing the same thing, but in a way that makes it seem like she's teaching Taylor ™ bad habits. Taylor™ takes notes as pop star Taylor explains the rules she needs to follow to keep up the facade that is concealing the inner versions of Taylor underneath. This feels like a true man bootcamp.
Taylor™ eventually throws up some of the purple glitter, implying that this outcome was a part of their plan. This reminds me of the phrase that suggests to 'chew the meat and spit out the bones'. It has a biblical background to encourage discernment, but in this situation pop star Taylor is showing Taylor™ how to read between the lines in order to see the helpful advice she is sharing.
Tumblr media
The old Taylor is dead
From the director's perspective, Truman was trying to escape because he had found out that his father was still alive. So to prevent Truman from leaving he reunites them. Marlon guides Truman to follow the script as they're reunited. This feels like the end of Truman's story as it cuts to the director's point of view behind the scenes but we eventually learn that Truman had been working towards a bigger plan the whole time. Pretending to go back to normal was a part of the plan to lull the director into a false sense of security, allowing Truman to leave when he least expected it.
A similar scene plays out as Taylor™ and pop star Taylor are reunited with the giant Taylor. With the added context of Truman's story, this now seems to be an attempt to placate them too. If we know that the pop star Taylor was subtly teaching Taylor™, we can begin to see the signs that they were both working towards a bigger plan. All we have to do to understand their motive is to read between the lines.
Tumblr media
If you open up a nesting doll and put it back together again without the inner layers, you're essentially creating a horcrux. This is what happened when Taylor lost access to her masters and what the many versions of Taylor represent. Slowly over time she's been rescuing each layer piece by piece. And once they're all reunited Taylor will become complete again.
The koi fish guitar and the purple glitter are a clear reference to the speak now era, and the purple colour is often associated with queer women. These connections point towards the giant Taylor being associated with the speak now era. The director allowed them to reunite with the giant Taylor because she was the lesser of two evils for the director to choose from. The aesthetic of the lover era and the music videos that went with it appear to be a compromise intended to prevent Taylor from going after her bigger plan.
I mentioned earlier that the inner version of Taylor became exiled during the speak now tour. In hindsight, the red version of Taylor then became a decoy to draw our attention away from the speak now era so that we didn't realise that she was left behind. "'Cause you never gave a warning sign. (I gave so many signs) So many signs, so many signs. You didn't even see the signs." The tree where Taylor was exiled is featured on the cover of the book in the 'all too well' short film and the only lingering evidence of her existence is the red scarf.
Tumblr media
The bigger plan Taylor™ and pop star Taylor were working towards was hinted at with the koi fish guitars. Pop star Taylor was smashing her guitar, drawing our attention to the speak now connection. This distracted us from the second koi fish guitar Taylor™ was holding onto, concealing their bigger plan hidden in plain sight. And it's all linked to the koi fish. In the 'lavender haze' music video, Taylor pushes down the walls of the bedroom to reveal that the house was all a facade. She then proceeds to go to sleep on a cloud while surrounded by koi fish as they swim by. This is a reference to the phrase 'sleeping with the fishes', a term used to imply a dead body had been dumped in the ocean. This suggests that Taylor™ and pop star Taylor are working together to rescue this version of Taylor. And how do we know which version is still missing? Taylor showed us with the midnight mayhem with me videos when she paired track 1 with 'lavender haze'. This implies that Debut Taylor is the original version of Taylor who is dead sleeping with the fishes.
Tumblr media
The funeral
"And if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake?"
Looking back we can see that Taylor Nation has been going live to draw our attention to the 'I don't wanna live forever' surprise songs, but more specifically the difference between live vs live. And just like Truman, Taylor™ doesn't want to be live forever, hence the funeral. Taylor's direct references to The Truman Show deviate with the funeral scene, but the main characters do correspond to Truman's family to draw our attention to their intentions. This means that Kimber is Truman's wife, Preston is Truman's mother and Chad is Truman's best friend. I've been going back and forth trying to decide if they could represent Taylor's family or herself, but ultimately I believe it's about fans. As the funeral starts, Kimber is using a selfie stick to fix up her lipstick. "Once you fix your face I'm going in". This action feels like the funeral is a big performance for her rather than a somber occasion.
Tumblr media
Next, Preston gets up to read out the will. Kimber and Preston both sound distraught when they discover that Taylor left everything to her cats and all that's left for them is 13 cents each, but the delay in Chad's reaction suggests that he's not surprised but is playing along to keep up appearances. The 13 cents is a reference to Taylor's favourite number and a cent is typically a penny, but it’s also a unit of measure in music. I'm not familiar with US currency, but many versions of the penny seem to feature a shield. The inscription on them reads 'e pluribus unum' which translates to 'out of many, one'. This motto represents a union formed by many states. This implies that there is a maximum of thirteen versions of Taylor, and that once limit is reached they will reunite again as one.
As they continue to argue over the will, Chad and Preston point out that Kimber is wearing Taylor's dress from the fearless tour. She gets upset over this, claiming that "we were very, very close and I miss her!" Knowing that her character is referencing Truman's wife Meryl, this emotional outburst now feels contrived as if she's putting on a show.
Tumblr media
The fight escalates when it's pointed out that Chad is recording the funeral for his podcast 'life comes at you swiftly'. This suggests that he's using the recording for ulterior purposes. The argument turns into a fight as Chad accuses Kimber of killing Taylor. "Kimber was the last one with her. She didn't fall off that balcony, she was pushed!" This implies that Chad knows more than he's letting on and is purposely escalating the situation to create a rift between them all.
Tumblr media
If the cents represent a new era of Taylor, midnights being the 10th era suggests that they have almost run out. Therefore Kimber, Preston and Chad's disagreement and outrage is a genuine reaction to how little time they have left, not the money. While everyone is distracted, Taylor gets out of the coffin but no one notices because they're too busy fighting amongst themselves. This version of Taylor is wearing a teal and green shirt, colours associated with the debut version of Taylor. But if we've already established that the original version of Taylor is in the lavender haze, does this mean that debut Taylor is the original Taylor™?
Tumblr media
Just like Truman learnt at a young age that he needed to fit in and follow the script like everyone else, Taylor did too. "When you are young, they assume you know nothing". If Truman was the 'true man', the more accurate description for Taylor would be the 'good girl'. All her life that's who she was expected to be so that's who she tried to be. Underneath that outer layer, is another layer, and another layer and so on of Taylor's attempts to be a 'good girl'. Each layer of nesting dolls may look identical or completely unique to the next, but in the end there's only one left that's not hollow at it's core. This is the innermost version of Taylor.
"Changed plans and lovers and outfits and rules.
All to outrun my desertion of you."
If Taylor learnt to conceal her inner self before debut, then each layer since then has been her attempt to replace the part of herself that was left behind. This suggests that reuniting all thirteen layers of Taylor was the bigger plan she was working towards all along.
Tumblr media
The will to live
"But who got the beach house?"
"She's having it turned into a f*cking cat sanctuary!"
Taylor didn't leave her children very much in the will, but she did request that the beach house be turned into a cat sanctuary. It's common knowledge that a cat typically has nine lives, but knowing Taylor her cats would have 13 lives instead.
To tie it all back to the 'today was a fairytale' connection that started all of this, the thirteen versions of Taylor are woven together in the same way the multiple storylines of the characters in the valentines day movie tell a bigger story together. They each have a story to tell individually, but together their lives weave together to create a patchwork of who they are as a whole. Each version of Taylor is connected through the invisible string, and Taylor has left subtle clues throughout her career to guide us along the way.
Speaking of subtle clues, is there really a secret encoded message hidden in the funeral scene?
There is if you read between the lines!
Chad points at the picture of Taylor with her cats after he asked about secret encoded messages. Taylor overhears this and pokes her head out of the coffin before anxiously glancing at the picture of herself to make sure no one had picked up on her secret encoded message. These subtle actions link the picture that's just out of view at the same time to what they were talking about it. I know that this picture of Taylor with her cats is not new information, but I do think we have failed to uncover the significance of it.
Tumblr media
To understand this picture we first have to consider Truman's motivations to leave Seahaven. If Marlon was guiding Truman to aid his escape, the director was using Meryl to prevent Truman from leaving. And the next step in his plan was for Meryl to conceive, give birth and replicate Truman's life in the spotlight. The idea of being responsible for another person living the life he had is what motivated Truman to finally leave.
Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun had initially told Taylor that they would only permit her to use her older music or video footage within the first year after she left her old record label if she agreed to their terms. This included but was not limited to saying:
"If I agree to not re-record copycat versions of my songs"
This clause went against everything Taylor had ever wanted: to own her own work. Embracing the queer side of herself was a big part of Taylor's journey initially, but creating change for everyone following in her footsteps is her greatest plan above all else.
"You look like Taylor Swift™ in this light. We're loving it."
The long pond studio sessions begins with Taylor talking about how she had created a studio in her home called kitty committee studios while in lockdown. As it comes to an end, Taylor and Jack are talking about how her cats are often fighting in the background while she was recording.
"If I was to close the door on them, they would meow, so they need to be free range cats. Cage free."
Benjamin Button is Taylor's third cat, the one she received during the 'Me!' music video from Brendon Urie. This moment is monumental as it signifies Taylor owning her first album. The significance of this suggests that Taylor was never planning on coming out during the lover era, it had always been about wanting to have access to her catalogue.
"Hey kids, spelling is fun!"
There is no I in team, but "you can't spell cats without TS!"
Tumblr media
What's the time Mr Wolf?
Truman's director was concealed within the moon structure he created in the sky of the dome above Seahaven. At the end of the 'karma' music video Taylor and Ice Spice both lasso the moon and saturn with gold and silver thread. This implies that there are two seperate directors influencing her actions from behind the scenes and that her plan involves stopping them, and not leaving her career.
"And you poke that bear 'til her claws come out and you find something to wrap your noose around."
We need to keep in mind that Taylor's references to the Truman show throughout her music videos are a way for her to leave breadcrumbs without leaving a trace. The purpose of this is to avoid directly naming names. And just like Truman, the whole point of the story was to slowly expose us to the director's role in her life. I keep referring back to Truman's story in the same way because there's so much of Taylor's personal life that we'll never be privy to, but ignoring the role of the director means that we're completely missing the truth sprinkled in amongst the lies throughout her discography.
"'Cause for every lie I tell them, they tell me three."
Taylor left many clues in the 'midnights mayhem with me'. But the biggest clue of all was hidden in the title. MMWM. For every truth Taylor has woven into her songs, she's covered it up with three lies. In a previous post I pointed out how Taylor had used the McDonalds slogan to troll everyone by linking her truth with the most recognised symbol of all, the M logo. "We're loving it." And it all stems from her favourite number 13. Believing that Taylor is singing about a Woman or Man depends on what side of the street you're standing on (and if you're looking up at her or looking down at her). If the 3 represents women, the 1 represents the fine line or tightrope that Taylor has had to walk as she added whispers of her truth in plain sight.
"Lost your balance on a tightrope. It's never too late to get it back."
Tumblr media
The significance of Taylor's cats doesn't stop with her catalogue. I'll leave it up to your imagination to discover how Taylor has been using the word to troll the directors, but on a more serious note we need to take a closer look at the meaning behind "Karma is a (copy)cat". When Taylor was told that she couldn't create copycat versions of her work she followed that direction meticulously. But just not in the way you think.
"But the story isn't mine anymore."
Taylor didn't rerecord her albums, she just retold the story.
Losing the rights to her own history is why Taylor didn't hesitate leaving everything behind when she left her old label. Instead, she started telling her story in her own way. And lover was the beginning of retelling her-story from debut. Folklore is retelling the story of Taylor™. Evermore is retelling the story of the princess that became frozen in time from speak now. Midnights is adding context to her-story from red. TTPD is the reality of her time in 1989. And there is no TS12 because there will be no explanation. TS12 is the inner Taylor, Taylor Swift. Who Taylor is at 12am is the same Taylor that started at 12pm.
'e pluribus unum'
"Midnights become my afternoons"
Tumblr media
But wait, there's more!
There are more layers to the clock than just the twelve numbers.
If the eras are the chapters of Taylor's story, the midnights track list is the manifest. This is the role Taylor played as her own director, or in other words the mastermind. The manifest is her evidence explaining why she created Taylor™. Each track lines up with the ending of an era, starting with the inner Taylor lost in the lavender haze. Debut is in exploring new love with maroon. Fearless is paving the way for Taylor™ as the anti hero. Speak now is exiled as Taylor™ in the snow globe/fish bowl with snow on the beach. Red is leaving the old Taylor behind with you're on your own kid. 1989 is in the getaway car with midnight rain. Reputation is dreaming of purple skies and galaxies with Question...? Lover is playing with fire in vigilante shit. Folklore is reflecting on the diamonds frozen in time with bejewelled. Evermore is preparing to cross the line with labyrinth. Midnights is weaving the invisible string with karma. And TTPD is providing the evidence of how the inner Taylor became exiled.
The next layer reveals the four quadrants, just like the midnights vinyls. These reveal the fantasy vs reality of Taylor's history. "One for the money, two for the show". If we look closely we can see the evidence that the two directors are scripting both Taylor's career and her love life. This is in the form of limiting her music and forcing her into PR based relationships. The first quadrant reveals the dream Taylor had of owning her own music. The second reveals how convincing PR relationships can be. The third quadrant reveals Taylor's plans to reclaim her life's work and history. And the forth quadrant reveals Taylor's current fight to experience a love life without outside influence.
"And I hope it's shitty in the black dog"
"Karma is a cat purring in my lap because he loves me"
Tumblr media
Truman spent his life feeling trapped in his hometown as he kept the truest parts of himself hidden. So much of Taylor's music videos point to feeling the same way. On the outside she is projecting the good girl version of herself, but underneath she feels abandoned. And both are in pain because they have been exiled from each other.
Many of Taylor's albums are full of fantasy because that's the life she's created for herself to maintain the facade and the man wall is the remnants of her dreams. The only layers that depict Taylor's reality are the albums that correspond with her real cats in the picture from the funeral scene. During the lover era, Taylor assigned a cats movie character to each of her albums. The big cat in her lap is Benjamin Button. He represents Taylor's future with debut and lover. Meredith Grey is tucked in underneath. She represents the life of Taylor™ as speak now and evermore. And Olivia Benson is behind her. She represents Taylor's history with 1989 and TTPD.
The 'fortnight' music video was a stark contrast with the asylum feel compared to the rest of her discography because that was our peek behind the magician's curtain. It reveals that the deeper meaning behind the tortured poets department is that both halves of Taylor are being tortured. To understand the severity of this, we have to envision the clock as a globe. The equator becomes the fine line the inner and outer version of Taylor is walking along. Taylor™ is in the glass display box performing for the world to see. Meanwhile, inner Taylor is buried and exiled underground. The men in Taylor's music videos frequently represent the other half of herself. In reality, they are orbiting each other but never allowed to touch.
Taylor's end game is to break down the facade of Taylor™, remove the mask to expose her inner self and reunite the two halves of herself once more. After all, it's delicate.
The tortured poets department is called that because Taylor isn't the only tortured poet. So many artists and celebrities from the past have been tortured in some way. Taylor's not the only one that's breaking down their facade and this is what all of the willow orbs represent. It takes someone with enough power and attention to be able to create lasting change, and Taylor's the one that's going to change everything. In 'look what you made me do' Taylor is sitting at the children's table teaching them all of her bad habits. But we have to keep in mind that this is the pop star/anti hero version of Taylor. And her partner in crime is none other than Jack Antonoff. They've been sharing Taylor's tricks with the next generation of artists to prevent them falling into the same trap that Taylor did.
They're creating copycats of Taylor.
"Karma is a cat"
"Every bait and switch was a work of art"
Tumblr media
"Karma is a cat purring in my lap because he loves me."
A tortured poet,
Kylie x
P.S. What's in the briefcase Taylor?
P.P.S. I know who the real muse is too hehe

MY HOPES FOR VANCOUVER N3:
Note: these are like, Wildest Dreams, okay? I understand many of them may not happen but LETS GO BITCH
*kaylor content ahead*
- Missing light pink lover body suit. This was posted in the background of a post by the designer. In the Eras Tour Book, there’s also a Taylor holding a pink guitar that hides most of the outfit, but it looks suspiciously similar to the one from the designer’s post—pink and silver.
- ME! added to the set list. Possible Brennan Yurie guest appearance. The same drum line from TTPD and the original performance but in screaming color!
- New light pink The Man jacket. I’ve heard people guessing green for the arrival to The Emerald City, but I think it’s more likely to be light pink, silver, or light orange to match the first performance of ME! live. I’m going with light pink (it’s in the Eras Tour book)
- Green or pink Lover guitar. In the Eras Tour book, Taylor is holding the pink guitar. But there’s also a green guitar sitting with the blue and purple one that we’ve never seen before. I am torn because green is the new one and it’s the last chance to debut it, but also if she’s going for lesbian ME! colors, then pink would match the best. But also green would match Glinda and Elphaba colors and draw attention to Wicked & the Wizard of Oz parallels… ugh, decisions.
- Okay I’m looking at the Eras Tour Book again and the outfits are listed in a different order than the eras have been performed. So I’m guessing that the order of Eras for the last show will change: Lover, Red, folkmore, 1989, Fearless, TTPD, (possible evermore added back??), Reputation, Acoustic / Surprise Songs, Speak Now, and then Midnights.
- I am suspicious of the Mastermind set design that leaked having a purple Speak Now dress in it, but I think it would interrupt the flow of Midnights too much to be incorporated tonight.
- The missing pawn (in every Lover’s game) is in play tonight, and stops the check mate. This connects to the lyrics but also Karlie’s posts with a missing pawn. (What if Karlie appears on stage as the missing pawn lmao)
- I Bet You Think About ME red T-shirt. Because ME! Out now! And the masters heist, the failed coming out, etc.
- New Red guitar?? There’s 2 listed in the Eras Tour book, but I think she’s only been using one?? Idk, take a huge grain of salt with this one.
- purple folkmore dress. In the Eras Tour Book, she’s the one holding a guitar. (I’m paying attention to the Taylor’s holding guitars because the Fearless Taylor holding a guitar was the N1 and N2 dress)
- 1989 is hard. I originally thought that she would do green / yellow on N2 and green / green on N3, but she broke the pattern. Now I am questioning if she will wear either set at all, just to draw attention to the fact that she didn’t wear them. She could wear the lesbian flag with pink / orange. She could wear yellow / yellow for daylight and the yellow brick road. She could still wear green / green. I think gonna go with yellow / yellow* (detailed explanation at the end of post) because that’s the only place I can put yellow and I think she will wear all the colors of the rainbow tonight.
- New solid blue fearless dress. (In the Eras Tour Book)
- Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me TTPD Dress
- New all gold TTPD outfit. (This could also count as yellow??). This is Taylor the courageous lion, daylight, etc.
- Gold reputation bodysuit. (This could also count as yellow??). I’ve also seen theories from the LWYMMD MV that she could wear a silver reputation body suit, since she wears 3 snake rings—red, gold, and silver. Idk about this one.
- My heart says Sunrise Boulevard / lesbian flag surprise song dress. But based on the Eras Tour Book, I can’t draw my eyes away from the green surprise song dress. I think there may be a new green surprise song dress, and maybe that’s where the Emerald City will come into play.
- Pink speak now dress with the koi fish guitar.
- Long Live added back to the set list for the last night
- orange midnights dress. (It’s in the eras tour book)
- Cutouts Midnights bodysuit. For the gays.
- Multi-color or light pink Karma jacket. She’s worn the light pink Karma jacket 5 times, and wearing it tomorrow would make 6… 6 for TS6, reputation OR Karma the lost album
- Karlie Kloss in attendance. Parallels to August 2023, with Taylor looking at Karlie’s section in the audience all fucking night lmao
- Betty Speech: no mention of imaginary worlds or characters. COMMIT. This one is just a desperate hope.
- I’ll have to circle back to surprise songs after doing some more research. Right now, I’ve been thinking it would be SO CUTE to do Christmas Tree Farm and maybe announce the holiday album as a treat, but it feels like a big stretch. And it would take away from all of the other lesbian and queer flagging that I am predicting for tonight.
- I think what’s more likely is an announcement of another Eras Tour Concert Film that includes TTPD. Or maybe the Eras Tour Documentary. But I feel like this one may take longer to put together. These may also come at a later time, but again, WILDEST HOPES AND DREAMS.
*My reasoning for the yellow / yellow 1989 outfit. I 100% believe in the Yellow Brick Road / Wizard of Oz theories. Taylor is taking the YBR toward coming out. However, I think that the timeline is more stretched out than we originally thought. There are 14 books in the original story, with the Wizard of Oz and the journey to the emerald city being just the first one. Some amazing creators have dug into these books and I agree with them that getting to the emerald city is just one part of the journey. I think that’s why we haven’t gotten the green / yellow and green / green. Instead, we got yellow / orange. Not for Chiefs colors, though that could also be a nice distraction for the hetlors. It’s for the yellow brick road and the orange field of poppies. So Taylor has gone through the field of poppies and gotten to the yellow brick road, and she’s going to step off the yellow brick road and arrive at The Emerald City. There have already been theories about the green / green 1989 set and the Vancouver goodbye post being the post that aligns with the yellow brick road on Taylor’s instagram feed. This is a good theory. But I’m also suspicious of that green surprise song dress and suspect that could also be a good Emerald City post picture. I think her coming out journey will end on her birthday next year. 12/13/25.
Because she still has 2-3 re-records, with Debut, Reputation, and the holiday album. And I think Karma will come next year as well, if she’s following her pattern of 2 re-records and a new album.

Note
Thinking about the deleted scene from the Tim McGraw video... I understand it's not THAT risque, but it feels odd for the time. Do you have any thoughts on that as a TS historian? Because as someone who has done my best to research (mainly with the help of blogs such as yours <3) I feel as though there was a slight push to make her *slightly "cleaner" during the Fearless era.
It feels like she "naturally" gained a good girl reputation during the debut era, and then when Fearless came around, she was REALLY pushing it. Like they talked about it in EVERY interview to the point where it did not feel genuine.
Then a lot of the long-form Speak Now stuff is either "waiting for her to crack" or, "huh, she acts like a normal person in their early 20s. What a novelty." The Vogue, and New Yorker profiles strike me as particularly prooding on the topic of her "good girl" rep. Like that whole part about her asking for cursing to be left off the record.
Red onwards, she definitely started portraying herself as more "adult" in a way that felt natural, and slightly less fixated on the "good girl" thing, until rep of course.
Long ask, I know. But I find it interesting as a topic.
i do think there was a shift in the fearless era where like. she wasn’t courting people her own age as much? like, debut era the narrative was like, “country album made by and for teenage girls” and then during the fearless era it kinda shifted into “america’s older sister taylor swift with her hordes of 8 year olds”. and i think part of that was just how the cookie crumbled (like, a, she is to a certain degree just kinda like that, and b, she dated a jonas brother and that’s gonna come along with some young fans) and part of that was a buisness decision to like, get on radio disney and do hannah montana, and then there’s the kinda in between stuff of inviting a bunch of kids to t-party. and with that marketing to young girls comes a push for a squeakier image.
i think the interesting thing about red is she starts really marketing herself to people her own age again. like, the harvey mudd performance is fascinating to me, because it’s the first time since like, those tour bus shows with debut that she was playing to an audience exclusively her age. and she’s funny as fuck! she’s charming and relatable, but in a way we rarely got to see her— she’s not making long speeches giving advice, she’s telling funny stories about the mistakes she made. and like, i love her long speeches of advice, but the harvey mudd concert has me so paradocial in a different way
i don’t know i could probably talk about this forever but if i do ill be late to work

My Eras Tour Fits, One For Each Era!
also pls bear with me on this, I am boring and dont rly know how to dress, so these may not be that cool
obligatory tagging the people who asked for it + swiftie mutuals: @dybalaispretty, @lonely-salamander, @rainingmbappe, @liverpool-enjoyer, @purefractals, @tam-is-blogging, @charlesluvr !!!!
General Swiftie Fit: I could only put 10 images in this post so I just wanted to describe my general swiftie concert outfit, which would be the iconic 22 outfit, except with full length sweats not tiny shorts because like. I do not have beautiful slender legs like Mrs. Swift.
Now, onto the Eras:
Tumblr media
I just wanted to go for a simple country look. In Swiftiedom, green is the official color of debut, so I went for some supercute green cowboy boots and a simple cowboy outfit! Underneath the plaid shirt I'd imagine I'm wearing one of those "Who's Taylor Swift Anyways? Ew." shirts. I know that's from 22 but I don't care lol.
Tumblr media
Yeah don't judge me. I would pull up with the notepad as well, I would write the chants on it cuz I don't like shouting. I wouldn't wear the hoodie unless it got super cold, but I still made sure the hoodie was on theme! Also I'm aware that's not the pajama bottoms she wore in the vid, I wanted them to be fearless-colored (golden yellow)!
Tumblr media
Since I couldn't wear the iconic Speak Now dress (way too impractical to wear to a concert LOL) so I went for like, a groom's look? I just realized I forgot to put trousers in this. Well they would be a dark purple, much darker than the shirt, almost black. I went for white gloves because it just gives me bridal vibes idk? Like a groomsman. This fit would look perfect beside the Speak Now dress, which is what I was going for.
Tumblr media
Yeah I won't waste y'all's time. I would wear that exact fit. It is the best costume I've ever seen. I just wouldn't wear leggings like she does because once again I don't have legs for days.
Tumblr media
I wanted something that would BLIND ANYONE WHO LOOKED AT ME!! BECAUSE THAT'S THE VIBES OF 1989!!! Keep dancing and don't let ANYONE tell you you're too much! Be goofy and silly who gives an F!!!
Tumblr media
Yeah don't judge me. Reputation is my favorite album. I would 100% go ham and go full bad boy biker with this one! The shirt says "and in the death of her reputation, she felt truly alive" which is the quote I live by. I think I would slay this fit. Too bad I have zero (0) money.
Tumblr media
This isn't exactly what I'd wear. 1) the shirt would have even BOLDER colors. As well as the jacket. This is basically a You Need To Calm Down fit... I love that song so much it makes me wanna dance. Also, my jacket would say "The Man" on the back. I would also do that lover makeup thing with the eye heart.
Tumblr media
"who brings headphones to a concert" well DUH i'm not wearing them. Sometimes we sacrifice logic for the sake of the serve! Also, my stuffed husky, Dustin, is part of this fit, but I can't get a good enough pic of him. Just know he is part of this, I wanted this to give "I'm still in bed" vibes, cuz that's what folklore is to me as an album? Idk, it just gives me that, "I wrote this while nestled under the covers" feel.
Tumblr media
This is just meant to replicate what Taylor already wears on the album cover. Also, I would have a champagne glass.
Tumblr media
And last but DEFINITELY not the least, my Midnights fit! I also designed this as a general Eras fit, because tbh the Eras aesthetic is kind of the Midnights one too, if that makes sensee? I wanted this one to give the vibes of that You're Losing Me line, "I'm the best thing at this party, I wouldn't marry me either". Clearly stylish, but meant to be in the back of the party, not the center.

Book Recs Based on Taylor Swift Albums
'Tis the damn season of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour! In celebration I have put together reading recommendations based on each of Taylor’s albums.
Some of Taylor's songs are (seemingly) inspired directly by specific books or media, so I tried to stray from those and recommend something different. Also, I aimed for books that I think capture the theme/feeling of the entire album, rather than books that follow the story of one particular song.
...Ready for it? Here goes.
(Also I’m tired, so there may be some minor book spoilers… no promises.)
Taylor Swift (Debut)- I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
I’ll Give You the Sun captures the vibrancy of Taylor’s self-titled debut album, and delves into the challenges of youth and the journey to finding where we belong in the world. Both the album and book showcase the loneliness and betrayals that happen during adolescence. They also look at love and what it means to love someone. This isn’t just romantic love either; there are friendships, familial love… and ok, there’s romance too.
Fearless - Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
Hear me out. Wuthering Heights is dark, yes, but it is mainly a story of passion; powerful, lively moments, both positive and negative. It’s a story full of life, and so is Fearless. In both there are love stories and there are fights, there are betrayals and misunderstandings, and in Wuthering Heights the characters are, mostly, physically very near each other… just on The Other Side of the Door. Both Fearless and Wuthering Heights are rollercoasters charting the ups and downs of their protagonists’ relationships. Someday I’ll write an essay dedicated to comparing the two in more detail, but for now I’ll stop here.
Speak Now - Seven Faceless Saints (SFS) by M.K. Lobb
Ok, I might be reaching here because I just read this and want to talk about it, but watch me make it work. Roz and Damian (the main characters of SFS) dated for years before Damian was drafted, and since his return to Ombrazia there has been tension between the two due to both personal vendettas and political differences. As they’re forced to work together, they begin to understand each other, they grapple with their pasts, the things that haunt them, the things that make them push for revenge… they build a relationship again, they reflect on the way their lives used to be and the tumult that caused the breakdown. The victory in SFS is a bit darker in tone than Long Live, but I think it still works.
Red - If I Had Your Face by Frances Cha
This one is a given for me. Both Red and If I Had Your Face capture the turbulence and confusion of being a woman in your twenties (give or take). They show both the magic and madness of romantic relationships. They show the pain of being older and wiser, how we can look at other women who are still full of hope and see how everything could go wrong. Heartbreak, power, and female friendship; it’s all there.
1989 - The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
Welcome to New York! The Sun Is Also a Star follows two teens, Natasha and Daniel, through an event- and emotion-filled day in NYC. It’s romantic and silly and magical, until very suddenly… the pain of reality returns. This one’s YA, but I think it fits really well with 1989.
Reputation - The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
I love love this comparison. Secret relationships, crimes and getaway cars, breakups and betrayals and finally, eventually, realizing that the people we surround ourselves with are what really matters in life… yeah.
Lover - Book Lovers by Emily Henry
It’s only fitting that Lover gets a romance novel (and I promise I didn’t just pick this particular book because it has “lover” in the title). Book Lovers features a literary agent named Nora who is determined to go above and beyond for her clients. If she were a man, she’d be the man. It’s a realistic romance, complete with a cruel summer and characters who find comfort in each other after many failed relationships… but can it last?
folklore - Little Women by Louisa May Alcott or Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason
There’s a lot going on in folklore; it showcases Taylor’s storytelling skills in an achingly beautiful light. There are several different stories happening on the album, some of which are intertwined. I can’t pass up recommending Little Women, because the relationships these women share with each other, and their romances throughout the different stages of their life, are represented thoroughly in folklore’s tracklist. There are hard feelings and mistakes, heartache and the harshness of reality, and the realization that sometimes things aren’t meant to be, no matter how much we might want them to be.
However, as someone who has spent too much not enough time watching Jo and Laurie x folklore compilations on Youtube, I feel like folklore/Little Women is a commonly made connection… (or maybe I’m way too deep into that rabbit hole). SO, to add some variety, I wanted to share a second recommendation that I think also fits with the general feeling folklore creates.
Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason particularly fits with the more mature stories on the album. It involves  characters looking back on their pasts and seeing the connections and divisions in their relationships, and grappling with how things are vs what could’ve been. The book focuses heavily on mental health and how it affects our relationships with ourselves and the people we care about.
I’ll share one of my favorite quotes: “Martha, no marriage makes sense. Especially not to the outside world. A marriage is its own world.” Just like in folklore, Sorrow and Bliss includes a deep dive into the protagonist’s personal relationships and how those relationships can grow and change over time.
evermore - I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
Set in a crumbling castle in rural England, I Capture the Castle shares the mystique and pining encapsulated in Taylor Swift’s evermore. There’s unrequited love, secret devotions, and the ache left by empty promises and tainted relationships. And of course, everything is happening surrounded by overwhelming pastoral beauty. It’s the perfect matchup to evermore.
Midnights - Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
A second TJR feature! I feel like there’s a song here for every major event in DJATS. The madness of relationships; the idolization of celebrities vs what they were actually going through; parties, affairs, love and questions; loss and betrayal and reflections on the past… It’s all there.
And that’s all ten! I got tired near the end, so I apologize if any of this is confusing. If you have questions or comments about any of these book recs, please reach out to me! I’d love to talk more about them.
I’m thinking of doing more in-depth book recommendations for Taylor's discography, where I pick one book for each of her songs. I’d do these on an album-by-album basis. If you're interested, let me know!

Well duh!
Tumblr media
here's nothing Taylor Swift fans love more than an Easter egg. Give them a hint of a secret message, a conspiracy theory, or something to decode and Swifties are all over it.
So, it's no surprise, as they (we) anxiously await the announcement of international tour dates, that they would take matters into their own hands and try to determine where Swift might be playing next once she completes her current U.S. performances.
What is the likelihood of a Vancouver show? Let's break it down:
Tumblr media
Seattle vs. Vancouver
Taylor Swift has been on five international tours; her current Eras tour is her sixth. Of her five previous tours, she came to Vancouver for three of them: Speak Now, Red, and 1989.
Swift skipped Vancouver during the Fearless tour, her first ever, and the Reputation Stadium tour, but she did play multiple other Canadian cities and Seattle.
ts1989fanatic:
Actually this is factually incorrect, for reputation she played two nights in Toronto that’s it.
Was Vancouver left off the list because she was already playing Seattle? Perhaps. There were already some artists who will either play Vancouver or Seattle for their west coast shows.
Swift played Vancouver during the Speak Now and Red tours and skipped Seattle but she played both during 1989. So overall it's hard to tell if we can bank on a Vancouver show given that the Eras tour is coming to Seattle.
Swift had another scheduled concert tour, Lover Fest, that was cancelled due to COVID and Canada wasn't included in any of the dates announced back in September 2019. Lover Fest included four U.S. shows, seven European shows, and one show in Brazil.
Does Canada count as "international"?
ts1989fanatic:
Hell yes it does, we are a separate country from the US, we have borders and everything. And a lot of us can’t afford to travel to the US or Toronto.
Additionally, previous Vancouver tour dates weren't necessarily considered part of the international tour. In some cases, Canadian shows were announced at the same time as the U.S. dates as part of a North American leg.
ts1989fanatic:
We damn well should be considered part of the international tour.
For Red and 1989 (the last time Swift performed in Vancouver) the Canadian shows were performed concurrently with the U.S. ones based on proximity.
However, Swift also performed significantly fewer shows in the last two tours. Reputation had 53 shows, only six of which were outside of North America and Canadian fans are adamant that Swift won't neglect her fans north of the border.
ts1989fanatic:
I wish I was as certain of this as some, but I honestly don’t know.
Would BC Place be booked already?
BC Place is the largest venue in Vancouver (capacity 54,500) and the one that Swift performed at on her last two visits. Still, its size doesn't come close to the capacity of some of the arenas she has performed at so far during the Eras tour. For example, Raymond James Stadium in Tampa holds 75,000 and NRG Stadium in Houston holds 72,220 fans.
ts1989fanatic:
So add more dates, instead of one night make it two or three like most US cities.
If Swift was to come to Vancouver BC Place is the only logical venue choice and would be booked by now (which means if she is coming someone is walking around Vancouver with a very big secret).
Swiftie super fans online believe that she is performing in the U.K. and Australia based on arena bookings and if we look at the BC Place calendar there are a few gaps in October where Swift could easily fit in a show or two. Some fans think she's more likely to visit in mid to late 2024 and BC Place has yet to reveal next year's calendar of events.
ts1989fanatic:
I could live with October or even 2024 so long as she’s here.
Why haven't the dates been announced yet?
ts1989fanatic:
That’s the billion $ question.
Many fans are begging to be put out of their misery: Is Taylor Swift coming to Canada or isn't she?
ts1989fanatic:
That’s the second billion $ question
International fans were promised an announcement in early 2023 (the initial dates were announced in November 2022) but the Ticketmaster disaster and subsequent hearing may have altered that plan and it's likely that the Taylor Nation team is strategizing how best to accommodate the demand.
ts1989fanatic:
Well how about @taylorswift or @taylornation put us out of our collective misery.

My thoughts after watching The Eras Tour movie:
-It truly felt like a concert, but without all the drawbacks of one. It was truly amazing and I am very grateful Taylor chose to make this movie.
-I think my favorite era might have actually been Folklore despite being 'the slowest one'. I mourn the fact that Cardigan was cut from the movie, but August was gr8, My Tears Ricochet was really emotional and I adored the staging for TLGAD. You could also see that Taylor was really into it during this era. I do however wish she would have filmed one of the nights she wore the green dress cause that one is stunning. The white one is merely acceptable.
-However, it did not feel like she was into Our Song. Especially when you compare it to the other acustic song, YOYOK, you could see she was enjoying one a loooot more than the other. And as a consequence, I too enjoyed YOYOK more. (Though, this is my fave song from Midnights, so of course I loved it LOL)
-As great as Long Live was for a credits song, I think it was a mistake to cut it from the Speak Now set that was just too short. Also she was filmed while wearing the ugliest Enchanted dress. It truly looked like she was wearing 'a gown shaped by a pastry'. I didn't realize just how utterly fugly that dress was till I saw it close up in the movie.
-Speaking of fugly costumes, pls get rid of the stupid Midnights jackets. All of them. They are ridiculous and have nothing to do with the era IMO. The sparkly t-shirt is fine and it adds to the middle of the night aesthetic and the bodysuit is obviously stunning. But the jackets? UGLY! My favorite song here was Mastermind, mostly bc I completely forgot it was on the setlist and I was pleasently surprised when she started singing it.
-I think my least favorite era was Red tbh. I found the choice of songs really boring and nothing interesting was happening on stage either. Her costumes here were...fine. Nothing more, nothing less. I understand why she chose to sing ATW10 but honestly I feel like the original version would have been a better choice. I also think cutting IKYWT or WANEGBT would have been a better choice than some of the songs actually cut.
-I heard quite a lot of playback on 1989, but otherwise I enjoyed the era. (I may be wrong, I am no expert.) I would however swep Style for Wildest Dreams in the movie as I found Style surprisingly boring.
-Evermore was surprisingly extremely enjoyable, just like Folklore. I loved how mystical and witchy Willow was. Champagne Problems was truly made to be played to stadiums. And Tolerate it? Man, it broke me. I however would have swept Marjorie for No body, no crime, as I feel like the latter would have been more memorable.
-Reputation was flawless.
-I enjoyed the Fearless era waaaay more than I expected to.
-Lover was really the best start of the show, although I think the songs could have been chosen better. I am not a fan of YNTCD but I understand she needed an upbeat song there, but I still wish she would have chosen Paper Rings or London Boy. However that bodysuit is AMAZING and will be imortalized in history.
Overall, it was great and I am very grateful she made the movie.

Note
is it just me, or did Taylor make an effort to sound younger on SNTV? i thought her voice was very recognizably older on FTV but she has a little more of her youthful voice back this time i think. not saying either of these are bad it’s just something i’ve been mulling over
she does sound younger, but that could be for a lot of reasons. 1. the difference from her vocals now to back in fearless era are so drastically different so it was way more noticeably different and older, so then by comparison speak now and present vocals dont sound as old (because the time between was lesser) or the songs just needed to be in a higher key

Order of favourites:
1: Wake Up / Bouncy / This World
2: Outlaw / Dune / DJANGO
Album rank: S++
Album mood: Free and fearless, brave fighting spirits!
Long thoughts below! 👇
🌎This world: I love the continued spacey theme with this! I wish they would make a full spacey album! This also has Dreamcatcher vibes! I could totally see Siyeon and Dami singing and rapping this! I think it's the slight musical and grand vibes!
"I'm ready for the dark, I'm ready for this worlololold!" It's so catchy! So epic but not exhaustingly epic!
And "Lies, control, rules
Numb, hatred, emptiness." Is so cool said in that robotic like, stiff, semi whisper!
🏜️Dune: Heaven's Door~~~
🤠DJANGO: I love how the beat and rhythm when they sing Django! This could count as the album's ballad lol. But it really keeps the energy whilst preserving energy, and I'm speaking of this imagining a live show. Let's not get ~bratatata!
🏰BOUNCY: The rhythm doesn't change to drastically which perfectly matches "Slow it down, make it BOUNCY." And what can I say all ATEEZ title tracks are boops!
⏰Wake Up: Hongjoong fast rap is top tier! Ah he's so great! The end part with the chanting and Jongho's high note is so exciting!!!
"Hey, you can hear my voice I know it."
💰Outlaw: So mischievous! High note to change the beat is so cool! I can see a mini MV of the members doing their heist planning schemes and such! And I love the chorus!
This is one of the best ATEEZ albums and one of the best Kpop albums! The energy and theme is kept throughout without the usual breaks of either good or okay songs and one a basic ballad, which makes you want to listen to all songs! I love the anthem, chanting and epic musical theme throughout and the previous nods to their songs!
This World - Guerilla, Take Me Home IDIOTAPE Remix
Dune - HALA HALA, Guerilla
DJANGO - Rocky (more vibes)
Wake Up - Guerilla
It's always cool when a group has such a strong music identity that you can recognise them in all their songs! It really shows the care and direction! This is common with producer idol groups such as ATEEZ, (G)I-DLE, SKZ etc.
And I love their vocals! They've always been good, but I feel their experience now has really allowed all members creativity to relax and shine brighter!
However I will say it doesn't completely flow between each track but usually albums have to completely add that smoothing process but it's close enough! I also do miss the intros little story but that's only minor as of course it needs to suit the theme too. Plus it not being there doesn't take away from it, and it's new era style.
Lastly for this album I focused the ranking more on replayability because they're all great.
🗒Notes: As usual I might add more later and there is probably some spelling and grammar mistakes.
🗒️Notes 2: The '/' do mildly set the rankings of each track higher than the next but they're all the same level. So all rank 1 songs are all rank 1 but the first one is slightly higher than the next in line if there is one. On that note a lower number song doesn't mean it's bad, after all I give an overall ranking at the end. It's a lot to do with how much I'll relisten to a song as well. So for example a lot of ballads are good but I rarely listen to them unless they are exceptional for my tastes.

i'm curious what do you think about the eras tour outfits? I love the evermore and folklore ones and I wish she would exchange the body suits for something more exciting, she suits crop tops and mini skirts so well.
love this question, i actually really like them on the whole and think that they call back to their respective eras in a really beautiful yet updated way. i feel like she just feels sexy and good and comfortable in bodysuits, starting with reputation, i feel like it's like a safety silhouette for her? i think that she's had a few different ones over her career. from debut through speak now, it was dresses, and either ballgowns like the SN eras dress or the fearless eras dress). for red, it was shorts and a tank, or like a bodysuit with shorts on the bottom (started the trend, hence why that's her fit for eras red, too, because there were a bunch of them on the red tour). then crops and skirts for 1989 (but still some bodysuits), lots of bodysuits for rep and for lover too. and i think she just still really likes them because she can show off her body but with a little more coverage, i guess?
but trust me i agree, i love a crop and skirt. i like the new mix and match 1989 eras costume, because i think the silhouette looks straight out of the 1989 tour, but the bedazzeled form-fitting ones are like... hotter. lol. i also loveeee the fearless dresses, they're so quintessentially early career and also suit her really well. i think that the rep bodysuit makes perfect sense and tbh like. i think we'll have to wait for the next tour to see what her style will be when it isn't having to reflect each existing past (well and present lol) era, you know? because she did Not wear crops on stage during rep or lover or red etc so like. reflecting the original intent does make sense. i Would prefer a little different red bodysuit in particular myself but like i get it. lover i surprisingly love, i think it's very cute and reflective of the era and good. i could see it being cute as a dress but i'm just so used to it now lol. and i love the midnights bodysuit.
i also love the folklore and evermore dresses and the green cutout folklore dress is my faveeeeeeee. my concert was also the one she debuted it at :') so i'm extra attached lol.
now i'm just wishing there were one more speak now song on the setlist, not because i'm being an annoying fan, but bc i want the big poofy dress to tear away to a cute short silver or purple fringe dress lol (for sparks fly maybe, or even long live).

the crows as ts albums
i’ve thought about this so many times and i’m open to discussion but i also think i'm 100% correct.
kaz is obviously reputation. there’s no doubt about that. “there will be no explanation. there will just be reputation” that’s kaz brekker if i’ve ever seen him. not to mention that it is such a romantic album and although a few songs on there remind me of wesper (delicate of course) i feel like the love songs on there are definitely representative of kaz’s feelings for inej. (don’t blame me. don’t blame me. don’t blame me.)
inej my LOVE i get such strong midnights vibes from her. i think this might be a hot take, but inej is little miss ‘hiding on the rooftops in the middle of the night’ and what better album for that than midnights! she really just gives me the dark pop-ish feel that midnights has.
nina zenik my girl. okay. so, i’ve seen a billion and one people say that red is her album. and yeah, i see it. but my first thought when it came to nina was always speak now. and when i say last kiss is giving helnik… sparks fly is sooo them as well… please see the vision!
jesper is so obviously 1989. everything about him just screams the pop perfection that is that album. don’t tell me that style is not his song because you would be WRONG. it’s his. if you gave me the time i could explain in-depth how every single song on 1989 relates to jesper fahey. nobody gets him like i do!
matthias. that man. is just. fearless. everything about the album, the SONG, the era, the vibe, the feel. we were happy… i don’t really have anything else to say about that, either you get it or you don’t.
and wylan, oh wylan! i actually struggled with this. the song seven is so obviously him, but my heart is saying lover is truly his. i know he’s not just cute sunshine, but neither is lover. there’s truly gut wrenching songs on there: the archer (which really gives jesper in all honestly), it’s nice to have a friend, soon you’ll get better… there’s also songs on there about anxiety in and surrounding romantic relationships and due to jesper’s ‘reputation’ that’s definitely something that wylan would (understandably) feel.
i really want to do the crows as specific ts songs because i have so many thoughts on that. and i want to do the ships/friendships as ts songs too because i have even more thoughts on that.
(gonna do both of those things even though no one asked)

Taylor Swift Eras Legacy Challenge
Tumblr media
This challenge is inspired by my love of Taylor Swift. While each generation’s requirements are inspired by themes found in her albums, they are not meant to be a reflection of what I think of Queen Taylor. I have not play-tested, so please let me know if there are any problems! I know I’m not the only one to make a challenge like this, but I’m hoping mine is not too similar to anyone else’s. Any overlap is completely unintentional.
General rules:
For each generation, complete the required aspiration, career, and skills.
The aesthetic and colors for each generation are not required, but I think they make it more fun!
Each generation can begin with starter funds, or 0 simoleons if you want to make it more challenging. If you have multiple generations living together, you can keep the household funds from each generation in the family.
Play on normal or long lifespan
If you get a self-discovery trait pop-up, you may accept additional traits, but you can't change existing traits.
Legacy challenges are about having fun! If changing any of the requirements will make your gameplay more fun, go right ahead!
If you post your gameplay anywhere, feel free to tag it with #tseraslegacy
This challenge requires:
Expansions: All except Island Living and Eco Lifestyle
Game Packs: Spa Day, Dine Out (can be played without), and Parenthood
Stuff packs: Nifty Knitting
Generation 1: Debut
From a young age, you’ve dreamed of having a big family and a loving spouse. You love to write songs and sing about your dreams for the future, and you’re determined to make your dreams come true. Your favorite thing in the world is spending time with your family.
Aesthetic/Colors: Country, Blue/Green/White
Aspiration: Big Happy Family
Traits: Proper, Romantic, Ambitious
Career: Gardener (use the work from home option once you have children)
Skills: Writing, Guitar, Parenting
Other Requirements:
Marry your high school sweetheart (preferably, have known them since childhood)- This requires starting the generation as a child. Skip this requirement if you'd like to start the challenge as a young adult
Have at least three children
Frequently join family members in what they’re doing
Generation 2: Fearless
You had loving parents who raised you to believe that you could do anything, so you’re literally reaching for the stars. While your career is important to you, you also make time for your friends and family and like to host dinner parties for them at home. You always keep your guest room open in case someone gets sleepy and wants to stay the night.
Aesthetic/Colors: Light Academia, Gold/Brown/White
Aspiration: Friend of the World
Traits: Jealous, Family-oriented, Geek
Career: Astronaut
Skills: Rocket Science, Logic
Other Requirements:
Have a high school best friend you’re close with your whole life
Host a dinner party once a week
Have a guest room in your house and accept any stay-over requests you get
Generation 3: Speak Now
Having such a successful parent led you to want the same success. The arts are your passion, so you make them both your career and hobbies. Whenever you’re not taking in beautiful art at a museum or good food at a restaurant, you’re making music at home. You want to instill the same values in your children, so you take them weekly to either a museum or restaurant.
Aesthetic/Colors: Artsy, Purple/Blue/White
Aspiration: Musical Genius
Traits: Overachiever, Good, Cheerful
Career: Critic (either branch)
Skills: Writing, any instrument
Other Requirements:
Have at least one failed relationship
Have a pristine reputation
Take your family on a weekly outing to a museum or restaurant
Generation 4: Red
You always looked up to your parent, and wanted to win their approval by making one of their passions your career, even though you weren’t very passionate about them. Throughout your first two (sort of miserable) careers, your two consolations were posting to social media and photography. Eventually, you realize that your parent is proud of you no matter what, and you follow your own path.
Aesthetic/Colors: Hipster, Red/Black/White
Aspiration: Renaissance Sim
Traits: Cat lover, Outgoing, Music lover
Careers: Fast food employee, Painter, Social Media (either branch)
Skills: Piano, Painting, Photography
Other Requirements:
Have one failed relationship with a sim at least one life stage ahead of you
Post to social media (Simstagram, Social Bunny, etc.) every day
Generation 5: 1989
You have always had a very strong sense of self, and knew from an early age that you were destined for superstardom. As an adult, you are quickly obsessed with the celebrity lifestyle, and become known for your amazing parties. People flock to you, and you have a large group of friends. You are very career-focused, so you don’t have a strong relationship with your child, even though you give them the best of everything.
Aesthetic/Colors: Preppy, Blue/Pink/Black
Aspiration: Party Animal
Traits: Insider, Party Animal, Clumsy
Career: Entertainer (musician branch)
Skills: Singing, Dance, Guitar
Other Requirements:
Become a level 5 celebrity
Have only one child
Go out with a group or throw a party twice a week
Gain the people person lifestyle
Generation 6: Reputation
Your parent didn’t spend much time with you during your childhood, so your relationship with them is tense. You have a strong sense of right and wrong, so you become a judge to bring people to justice (sometimes through mischievous means). Sometimes your commitment to justice makes you enemies, but that’s the job. Despite your relationship, you’re more like your parent than you think, and you love to go out and dance any chance you get.
Aesthetic/Colors: Rocker/Grunge, Black/Gray/White
Aspiration: Chief of Mischief
Traits: Self-assured, Dance machine, Hot-headed
Career: Lawyer (Justice branch)
Skills: Mischief, Dance
Other Requirements:
Have 3 enemies
Pull pranks on sims you see perform negative interactions
Go out and dance at a venue once a week
Generation 7: Lover
You share your parent’s commitment to public service, but you prefer to affect change at the ground-level. When you’re not sticking up for the underdog, you like to spend time with your spouse and children around a good meal. You often cook together with members of your household. Your love of your family means that you’re always ready to brighten their day with a joke.
Aesthetic/Colors: Twee, Pastel Pink/Blue/Purple
Aspiration: Soulmate
Traits: Foodie, Goofball, Loyal
Career: Politics (Charity organizer branch)
Skills: Charisma, Cooking, Comedy
Other Requirements:
Marry your first relationship
Have a weekly family meal
Frequently cook together with your family
Frequently tell jokes to your family members
Generation 8: Folklore
You’ve always loved making things and being creative. The only thing better is sharing what you’ve made with your large family. You love the bustle of your busy house, and often have other family members and friends over to visit.
Aesthetic/Colors: Boho, Red/Brown/Green
Aspiration: Lord/Lady of the Knits
Traits: Creative, Animal enthusiast, Bookworm
Career: Writer
Skills: Knitting, Writing, Baking
Other Requirements:
Be involved in a love triangle
Have a full household once you're an adult (Sims and pets)
Invite friends and family over to hang out at your house
Generation 9: Evermore
Growing up in such a big household, you were always trying to find some peace and quiet. You are most comfortable on your own, outside with your animals. You’ve designed your life so that you rarely have to interact with strangers in-person, so you grow and collect most of your food on your farm. You make and sell arts and crafts online, so you don’t need to interact with other sims outside your family.
Aesthetic/Colors: Cottagecore, Orange/Blue/Cream
Aspiration: Country Caretaker
Traits: Loves the outdoors, Loner, Perfectionist
Career: Freelance artist
Skills: Gardening, Painting, Cross stitch
Other Requirements:
Have at least one bad break-up
Skip prom (like Dorothea)
Have the simple living lot trait
Avoid interacting with sims outside your family
Generation 10: Midnights
You’ve always had a big personality and felt different than your quiet family. As a young adult, you become an actress to pursue a life of glamor, but you find that you miss the serenity of your childhood. You turn to Wellness to find a balance between the different parts of yourself.
Aesthetic/Colors: Polished, Blue/Black/Purple
Aspiration: Admired Icon (teen) and Inner Peace
Traits: High maintenance, Snob, Genius
Career: Actor/Actress
Skills: Acting, Wellness, Logic
Other Requirements:
Have a low or distant relationship with your family as a teen and young adult, but become closer over time
Break up with a significant other to focus on your career
Have a cat named Karma

Go On, Smile - Marilyn Manson x Reader
Synopsis: You and the band terrorize the local mall. AKA The totally fictional, fucked up origins of the samples from Cake and Sodomy.
Notes: Portrait era! Warning for intentions of assault (not from Manson) and general immature debauchery.
Tumblr media
There's nothing left to do in this town.
You, your boyfriend, and a few members of his band that aren't still sleeping, are wandering around the small town they're set to perform tonight. The venue's gonna be tiny, just like the town, but at this point, any gig is a good gig. They're touring their asses off to promote their first studio album, an album nobody thought could possibly get produced. Lots of touring meant a few shitty stops (okay, a fair amount), and it meant days of either doing drugs in hotel rooms, pasting flyers around the city, or trying to do normal things.
"We could vandalize buses," Jeordie suggests.
"There's only one bus that comes by here, once every hour at half past sharp," Pogo replies, staring at the palm of his hand. "I've been watching it."
"What about the mall?" you suggest.
"Does barbie want to go shopping?" Pogo mutters. You throw a crumpled up fast food bag from the ground at him.
Brian finally speaks up. "The mall's not a bad idea, actually. There might be makeup stores there, I can swipe some pancake shit for tonight's show."
Now that their fearless leader had spoken, everyone grunted their own form of agreement, getting up off the park bench.
Making it to the mall, Jeordie runs over to the directory. "I'm going to the candy store." Pogo seems to like that idea, and the two walk off. Brian calls after them.
"Assholes! Meet us back at the doors by six, we've got a show to get to!" He turns to you, taking your hand and rolling his eyes. "As if they don't get enough drugs. Now they need sugar highs too."
The two of you walk toward the drugstore to check out the makeup. Brian immediately heads over to the lip aisle, and starts pocketing some reds and plum colours.
"You know... I wouldn't mind a bit of candy," you tell him, swinging your hand with his, "A nice, big lollipop."
Brian licks his lips. "How would you lick it, baby? Swirl your tongue over the tip?"
"I'd get it all into my mouth, then when it hits the back of my throat, I'd swallow all that sweet sugar." Brian groans, starting to walk toward the candy store with you too, and you shrug. "But I'd settle for some sugar babies."
"You get the sugar babies," he smirks, "I'll get the sugar daddy."
"You are not a sugar daddy," you laugh. He scoffs.
"I could be!" He slides his hand down to feel up your ass. "I could be your daddy, babygirl."
"You're the same fucking age as me, and you've got no money."
He shakes his head. "Just give this record a little more time. Once Interscope pushes it and Portrait sells a billion copies, stadiums all over the world'll want Marilyn Manson to scare the crap out of their upstanding citizens. We'll be in demand! Then I can buy you all sorts of weird relics."
"Special," you smile, "Normal sugar daddies buy their babies diamonds. No, I get prosthetic hands and Eichmann's aluminum dentures."
"You love it."
"I do," you giggle, and his eyes suddenly take on that mischievous glint.
"Photo booth."
"Bri, really?"
"We gotta go in, and do a porno shoot."
"What?!"
"There's nobody around but us. Come on baby, let's take really fucking dirty pictures."
"You know, they probably save these somewhere to print them, right?"
"Good, you can flash your tits, make the mall cop jack off. Here, we can record, and put it on the new single, Cake and Sodomy! It'll be perfect."
You blush, and he pulls you into the little tent in the middle of the pathetically empty strip mall. He sets up the camera, closes the curtain, and you keep giggling.
"You go here," he sets you up on mark like a master movie director, and you check the screen, making sure the star anatomy is properly centered. Then you reach down and pull your top over your head, unhooking your bra. Brian bites his bottom lip.
"Shit, you're gonna make me have to jack off." You knee him lightly in the crotch playfully.
"Focus on the shoot, Spielberg." He puts his hands over your breasts from behind, and you yelp.
"Jesus Christ, Brian!"
"What?!"
"At least warm your hands up a little. God, it's like being fondled by the Grim Reaper!”
“Geez--”
“Boobs are very delicate things, okay, they're not like dicks, you can't just whip them out and expect--"
"Okay, alright, there. There! All warmed up. You happy?"
"Yes," you pout, and he kisses your cheek quickly, before darting forward to press capture and resuming his position. The first flash goes off, with Brian's hands grabbing your breasts. Second one begins to count down.
"What should we do, quick, what should we do?!" you squeal, laughing, and he looks around. He gets on his knees, bringing his face up, and sucks on your nipple for the third shot.
"Get your dick out," you urge, "Hurry, do it!"
He unzips his pants, and gets his dick as close as he can to the camera.
For the fifth shot, you get on your knees this time, holding Brian's dick and licking the tip as the last flash goes off. He presses play on his tape recorder, and you stand up, kissing him and making the sexiest noises you can.
"Alright.... mmm... mmmm!"
The two of you are laughing uncontrollably like children as you exit the booth with the printed strip. "Gorgeous," you nod, inspecting it.
"We're hot. I'd wanna fuck us," he says.
"God, same."
"We should use these as album art."
"Go for it," you shrug, "I'm sure it'd help sell all those billions of copies you promised." You bite your pinkie nail, looking back at the booth. "What if there were cameras that were watching inside, though? Like other cameras?" He massages your shoulders as you walk.
"I told you, there probably were. I already shoplifted, might as well be arrested for public indecency as well. It'll help my, uh... dangerous rock star image."
You groan, hiding your face in Brian's shoulder as you two keep walking.
You meet up with Jeordie and Pogo in front of the candy shop, Brian having shoved the strip down his back pocket. Jeordie has a bag full of sweets.
"What did you get?" you ask, burrowing inside it. He hands you some laffy taffy.
"I know you like this stuff."
"Jeord! I absolutely love you!"
"I know." He grins. "Hehe, Star Wars."
Just then, a big, hairy motherfucker of a security guard approaches you four quickly. He's an imposing figure, even on your 6'1 boyfriend.
"I promise I paid for all these gummy worms," Jeordie begins to tell him, but he looks at you and Brian.
"You the kids from the photo booth?"
You're too shocked to speak, so Brian, ever the antagonist, nods, sizing him up. "Yeah. Is there a problem?"
"You're going to have to come with me," the portly guard says sternly, and Brian shoves him off.
"Like hell, buddy."
The guard starts to take something out of the back of his belt, so before either of you can find out what, you stop him.
"Wait! Wait, it's okay. We'll go." You lean in to Brian pleadingly. "The most he can do is give us a warning. Don't get your show banned here over some stupid, bloated mall guy with a bone to pick."
"Fine." You and Brian turn, noticing Jeordie and Pogo had fled the scene. "Great friends," Brian mutters, and the two of you start walking.
The guard leads you into a dark, grimy room down some steps under the mall's CVS, where you see a bunch of security camera feeds, and... your topless photos displayed on one of them. It smells strange down here, like spoiled chicken and vaseline. The guard sits down.
"So. You think creating pornography in public is funny, do you?"
Brian lets loose a stream of vitriol you knew had been simmering. "I do. In fact, I think it's the most goddamn hilarious thing I've ever done, you stuffy old dickhead!"
"Brian..."
"You wouldn't know much about that though, since you're probably so miserable working overtime for a mall who sees the local crackhead walk through maybe once every month or so and that's it--"
"Brian."
"--Getting paid to sit behind a desk in the dark, eat donuts and creep on people like a glorified cam-stalker--"
"Brian!"
"I bet you liked looking at my girlfriend's tits, huh? You like em, you fucking pervert? Why don't you--"
The guard finally has enough, and gets up out of his chair, walking behind Brian and tying a gag around his mouth. You go to stop him, but he grabs some duct tape, and sits you down, tying your wrists behind the chair. He does the same to Brian, restraining him. Shaking in fear, you sit still, paralyzed, as the guard sits back down in front of you two.
"You kids now and your alternative lifestyles. Think that acting outlandish and wearing black, Satanic clothing that never would've flown in my day is the way to give us civilized folk here in this good, god fearing little town the middle finger, huh?"
He sneers down at your leather miniskirt, and then to Brian's thick platform boots, looking him up and down. He's not really helping disprove the man's point about outlandish clothes, with his lipstick and shaved eyebrows. You think you see Brian fiddle with something in his back pocket, but your attention is directed back to the guard.
"Performing sexual acts in my mall. You won't get away with that."
"What are you gonna do?" you whimper.
"Put on a little show of my own," he starts to smile sadistically. You start to feel cold all over. He doesn't mean...
Brian's eyes close. Of course the two of you had found the Buffalo Bill of mall cops. Fucking lucky. Well. It'd be a story for the show.
The man sits back. "Smile."
Brian watches the guy closely. "You touch her..." your boyfriend warns. You struggle to pull your restraints free.
"Smile for me," the guard repeats, growing impatient.
You swallow. "Just let us go. We're really sorry about the photos!"
He finally stands up, cracking a fist. "Go on smile, you cunt!"
Brian jumps up, and though his wrists are still bound like yours, he turns around to grab you, pulling you both to the door. He spits the gag out. "Run."
The two of you dash out the side entrance to the mall, and keep running until you can't hear the guard yelling anymore.
Jeordie and Pogo come out of the woodwork, quickly gathering around you.
"Fuckin' redneck tyrant!" Brian shouts back, grabbing and tossing Jeordie's milkshake at the building. Jeordie stares in longing at the destroyed strawberry goop on the ground, debating if the 5 second rule worked for drinks too. Pogo takes a switchblade out to cut you two loose.
"I got the perfect sound bites on tape we can sample for Cake and Sodomy, of you moaning like a whore and that guy being a general asshole," Brian tells you, and you roll your eyes.
"After nearly being killed by a psychotic mall cop, that's all you have to say? Typical."
"What did you guys even do?!" Jeordie asks.
You dig out the photo strip from Brian's back pocket, and pass it to the other guys. Pogo nods, stroking his goatee like a critic.
"That's art."

Secret of a Guitar(ist)
Pairing: Mick Mars X Reader
Summary: High school. Drama, music, love.(Y/N) applies for guitar lessons although she isn't aware of the tutor. She meets with people who she hopes she would never meet again.
Tumblr media
High school is a big part of everyone's life. Someone goes through it as a popular cheerleader or a lead singer of a rock band, while someone wants to stay in the back and have a quiet era. Some find love whereas others wait for Mr. Right at university. There are nerd ones, there are sportsmen. Everyone goes through high school in different ways but that's the beauty in it.
You lived in a quiet neighborhood not far away from your school. Your life was quite simple there with your family. Your mom was a teacher in an elementary school and your dad was a blue-collar worker. Your older brother, Adam was in his last year at university, whom with you had a good relationship. At least, as good as siblings could have.
"Mom, have you seen my leather pants?" You yelled from your room, searching for that damn piece of clothing for ages. The half of your closet was already either on the floor or your bed. Sighing you laid down on the floor looking up at the ceiling which was covered with band posters. ACDC, Black Sabbath, Scorpions, and Aerosmith.
"(Y/N), how many times do I have to say that you will get sick if you sit on the cold floor?!" Your mother said when she entered your room. She crossed her arms and looked at the mess which you called your room. You were on the edge of crying since you knew it will be a big day. Your mother noticed it. She helped you get up and sat down on the bed. "Honey, just relax. I know it's super important for you and this has been your dream to play the guitar and to learn it, but you don't have to stress about it. You are shy and gentle, but you can be a badass rocker, too. So remember that. Whenever you are afraid, be a badass, fearless warrior, and kick anyone's ass who dares to underestimate you." Your mother was brilliant and she always knew how to cheer you up and how to boost your self-esteem. You leaned your head on her shoulder and she rested her chin on the top of your head. "Come on, Tiger. Let's find those pants."
"Why aren't you eating?" Your friend, Emma, asked with a full mouth. You barely touched your food from the stress. You were stomping your feet under the table and your stomach was as small as a peanut. You were gripping that poor fork as strong that your knuckles were white.
"I'm not hungry." You tossed the plate farther and leaned back your chair crossing your arms.
"Why?" Emma insisted.
"Damn, Emma, you are such an idiot. Don't you remember she has her first guitar lesson today?" Helen snapped not believing how stupid Emma can be sometimes. Well, you didn't like her for her sense.
"That's today?" Emma was in shock. She knew that you will have private lessons with a guitarist you didn't know cause it wasn't written on the advertisement. You only knew that someone attended your school as well and that he or she can play the guitar. This uncertainty made you cringe. Maybe this person was also as shy as you and that's why the name wasn't presented.
"Then good luck, (Y/N). I'm sure you will be great." Simon added while trying to bite in his burger. You treated him as a brother but you felt you were something more to him.
"Thanks." You smiled at him. "I'm gonna get myself a snack. Do you want something from the vending machine?" After they told you their needs you headed to grab some chocolate. You picked up a pretty fast speed, you didn't like the way others were looking at you. You tried your best not to fall over the amount of bags on your way. Sadly, bags weren't the only thing you could trip over. Someone was kind to put his foot in your way and you managed to fell over. You fell on your hands which hurt badly.
"Omg, are you alright? Sorry, I didn't mean to. Me and my huge feet." A black-haired guy said standing up from his table immediately. A hand was beside your head to help you get up. You took it and when you were already standing you could see whose table was it. That new band's. Mötley Crüe or how they said it. The bass player's feet were the reason you tripped over and the lead guitarist was the one who helped you on your feet.
"Hey, it's no problem. I can be quite clumsy sometimes. I should've paid more attention." You said rubbing your wrist.
"Did you hurt yourself?" The guitarist noticed that you were in pain. He exactly knew the feeling. You just shook your head when your friends arrived to help you out.
"Hey, (Y/N), what happened?" Emma asked rushing to you while looking at the table. She stopped and stared at the guys. "Holy shit."
"What she meant was 'Sorry for disturbing you and we will quickly head out now.'" Helen said. She was already pulling you away but the bass player stood in her way.
"Listen, I feel sorry for your hand and I want to make it up for you. And I'm Nikki, by the way." He held his hand for you.
"I appreciate thanks, but you don't have to. It's nothing." You said.
"Wait, what happened to your hand?" Simon asked taking your hand into his. You could see the helpful guy eye roll which made you chuckle.
"I insist."
"Nikki, let the girl and her friends go." The guitarist said with a strict tone. Nikki sighed and stepped away letting you go. You took a final glance at them and followed your friends. When you arrived at the restroom you rushed in and told your friends that you need to clean yourself up. You looked in the mirror and counted at least to 100. It wasn't the first time when the whole school watched you making yourself awkward. But being this clumsy in front of those guys. Not to mention your wrist which hurt like hell. How will you be able to learn the guitar with this hand?
"Hey, (Y/N), is everything okay?" Helen stepped beside you and looked in your eyes. You tried to avoid eye contact since your eyes were full of tears but your friend was a stubborn one. "Look, nothing happened that had the right to make you feel this. Everyone fell over sometimes, it's not a big deal."
"I got used to falling over. My problem is that I totally fucked this up. I-I can't play the guitar like this. So I will just waste the tutor's time the whole time since he or she can't teach me a thing. The tutor must've put aside everything for this lesson and I'm the reason for the waste of time. And I hate wasting others' time." You whimpered. Helen pulled you in a hug and rubbed your back trying to calm you.
"I know. And I feel so sorry for you. Though, I think the best thing to do will be to be present at the lesson for at least explain what happened and why you can't play. You can't let him or her alone waiting for you."
"You are right. But first, I need to have a little faith." And be a warrior as you promised your mom.
3:45 pm. Isn't it too early? Nevermind, better than being late. You took a glance at your bandaged wrist and sighed. You pressed down the knob while biting your lip. When you opened the door your mouth dropped. That guy from the canteen who helped you getting up was sitting there, dealing with his guitar.
"Sorry, I must've chosen the wrong door." This can't be true. He can't be the tutor, though I would make some sense.
"Hey, wait! You are (Y/N)?" He asked putting down the guitar and walking towards you.
"Yes."
"Mick Mars." He held his hand towards you which you took shyly. "And sorry about what happened at the canteen. Nikki can't pay attention most of the time."
"Don't worry."
"Well, I think I should cause you clearly hurt yourself." He said looking at your hand.
"Speaking of...I don't think that I can play like this." You lowered your head fearing to make eye contact. "And sorry for wasting your time. You must have much more important things to do as a professional and all. But thanks for the opportunity." You turned your back and stepped in the corridor and to your surprise, Mick followed you there.
"Look, there are many more things you need to learn before actually playing the guitar so..why won't we go back and start from the beginning?" He put his hands in his pockets. You adjusted your bag on your shoulders and gave him a half-smile.
"Really?"
"Of course. Come." You took a deep breath and went back to the classroom. "Make yourself comfortable." You placed your bag on a desk and your guitar beside it. You haven't been in this room but it looked decent. "Do you need anything? Sadly, I could only bring some water but it's more than nothing." He chuckled nervously rubbing the back of his head.
"No, thanks. I'm all good."
"Then should we start or you still want to wait?" Mick was as confident as he looked. He was afraid that he might make you feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. Mick put two chairs next to each other and you both sat down. "So, how are you feeling today?"
"I've had better days, but it's fine." You said. "Can I ask something? And you don't have to answer if you don't want to."
"Sure. What is it?"
"Why didn't you showed your name in the advertisement?"
"Somehow, I knew that you would ask this." He chuckled. "Well, to be honest, I didn't want chicks to apply to these lessons just to meet and speak to my bandmates, you know. I don't want to a messenger between the girls and the guys."
"It makes sense. And thanks for telling me." You smiled.
You talked about rockers, musicians and for a few times, he picked up the guitar and showed you some riffs. You were into guitar solos and you loved watching others do it. Not to mention, he was pretty handsome. What? Why would you even say that?
"No problem. You like someone who is trustworthy and can keep secrets. Anyway, I would like you not to speak about these lessons. I might sound creepy but I don't like to let the girls know about me. I hope it's not a problem."
"Understandable. And I won't tell a word to anyone." You put your hand on your heart.
"Not even your boyfriend." Mick added leaning closer to see if you were lying.
"I don't have one. Where did you get it?"
"That guy. From the canteen. Redhead and tall one." You could see that Mick's jaws tightened.
"Oh, you mean Simon. He is not my boyfriend. Just friends." You knew it looked like you were together but you were just really good friends. He was like a brother.
"Does he know about that?" He narrowed his eyes.
"Haha. You are very fun-" You didn't have the chance to finish your sentence because Mick's bandmates literally broke in the room. He went over to Mick and didn't notice you at first.
"Did we interrupt something?" The blonde one asked smirking.
"What?" You felt your face burn and you started to pack your things, not wanting to bother them.
"Yes, you fucking interrupt our conversation and guitar lesson, you idiots!"
"Call it whatever you want! Anyway, I'm Vince, but I'm sure you knew it." Vince introduced himself gazing all over you.
"(Y/N)." You wanted to get out as soon as possible. You intended to avoid these guys for the rest of your life after that accident but it looked like you had a bad day. "And this is Tommy. Tommy Lee, our drummer." Tommy was grinning and hugged you tight. You tensed and didn't hug him back. You weren't a hugging and touchy-touchy person. "And you have already met Sixx."
"(Y/N), I'm so sorry. I didn't pay attention and I will cover everything you need to recover."
"Look, I have already said it's no problem and I've fallen over many times. Also, if you keep apologizing I'm starting to get pissed off." Nikki was in shock by the way you were ranting.
"I'm already pissed off so you can go and annoy someone else. We still had to finish something." Mick snapped already pushing the boys out the room.
"It was a pleasure to meet you, (Y/N)!" Vince yelled just before Mick closed the door groaning. He sat back beside you rubbing his eyes.
"I'm sorry about them. They can be annoying sometimes. But they are great dudes even if they don't look like that." Mick admitted. They have been playing music for more than a year and the music they've made is pretty good. He has been in many bands but Mötley Crüe was way better than the previous ones.
"I have a brother so I kinda know the feeling." You laughed. "By the way, I see I'm bothering now. They must have a reason they came, so go and talk with them. I gotta go home now. It's already 6 pm. But it was cool." You said putting your bag on your back and picked up your guitar.
"You are not bothering." Mick said escorting you to the door. "And I hope next time they won't show up."
"Next time?"
"Yeah. You didn't think that this lesson was enough to learn the guitar, right?"
"No..."
"Then see you next week. And please don't tell this to anyone. It would make things much easier for me." He placed his hand on your shoulder and leaned closer. Your heart was racing, you could barely breathe.
"O-okay. Sure." You could see him relieve before letting your shoulder go and waving before going back to the room.
So you weren't that bad if he is willing to continue these lessons. Or was it something else?
