Hi guys ! Just popping in to say hello! I'm slowly getting caught up on messages, as I was without service for quite a few days on this trip. I'm gone until Wednesday, but I'll likely be back fully over the weekend, instead of Thursday as originally planned. TLDR — the very first day of my trip, the trackpad on my coms computer stopped working lol. so I have to do some troubleshooting when I get back, and test some alternative options!

Thank you for bearing with me, I know there's some messages I've lost, and I've been trying to catch up when I have time/stable service. (Also, thank you guys for all the love and support on the templates while I've been gone! Y'all are awesome, and that means a lot, it's super appreciated!) well, i guess i'm as winter storm ready as i can be !

i clocked out of work for a bit to go run the errands i normally do on fridays because tomorrow we're supposed to get a few actual inches of snow (we'll see !!) so that was..... exhausting to do in the middle of a work day (and right before a snowstorm in the south... the traffic....) but it's all done !!

i've gotta work a couple of hours tomorrow because i ended up taking longer than i meant to (mostly because of the traffic) but hopefully i can get up and get that done before there's any possibility of even losing power so fingers crossed !

#i had to go to not one but TWO pharmacies as part of my errand run #walgreens to get some more toradol for what i'm pretty sure is another goddamn kidney stone #(that keeps having this on and off pain that's been going on since at least thanksgiving if not earlier so....#we've probably got another stuck one and i can't even begin to fucking think about it #i do have an appointment with my pcp on monday tho so hopefully we can figure out what's going on)#and costco to get my regular meds #i also made the mistake of getting to costco right about the time everyone was getting off work and just...oh my god #to be fair i've seen it worse but i had also just left the grocery store so like...ahhhhhhh #also part of the reason it took me so long to even get there was because i also took the trash off #and we finally got a new water heater (yaaay!!! i missed enjoying showers) but that meant i had to break down the box it came in (booo!!)#so that took goddamn forever #i even worked on it during my lunch break just so i'd hopefully speed up the process but nope !! not really !!#but it's done #and all the trash is taken off #and i've got food #we've got a grill and some propane and propane accessories #and mom got the fireplace cleaned out and we've got some wood #i'm gonna charge my portable batteries tonight and fingers crossed we don't end up needing any of it #and it's just a nice snowy day !!#anyway after that little trip to overstimulation city and feeling like i haven't stopped moving for several hours now #i'm gonna go unplug my brain !!#:3

#been a rly nice trip so far even tho it’s been exhausting haha #we spent a few days in iceland and saw volcanoes and little horses and wildflowers and the city #and then in switzerland where i lived as a child in zurich #seeing the train station was so lovely and familiar w the pigeons and the glass windows #now we r in italy #we spent the day at the beach in the ocean #now i’m sitting down drinking a cold grapefruit drink while ppl play cards and my gf reads her book #we r by a pool that’s empty and quiet and cool #im gna cook a tasty dinner tonight w some steaks #the pictures are of the kitchen im staying at rn and the swans in the river in zurich #personal #lauren

Lately my dash is full of the terror content which reminds me of when earlier this year i went with my brother to norway and visited the fram museum and there was a part dedicated to failed polar expeditions which made me go "oh that's awful! Thank god i will never experience this" which alas turned to be grim foreshadowing because like three days later i experienced a similar thing by virtue of the abisko plateau road getting broken while we were on the bus and getting stuck there for ten hours in the dark in the middle of a snowstorm with ~50 other people

#the whole situation was managed awfully as in the driver called the road to notify of the accident only five hours in and after #we banded together to quite literally force him to do that. my brother had started breaking down and told me #we needed to get off the bus and return to narvik by foot (impossible as well. snowstorm in the night and the fact we #were kilometers away from it) i started sobbing hysterically at one point #there was a cute baby i played with but afrer a while it also contributed to the breakdown bcs i was like oh shes gonna freeze to death too #to this day i just feel extremely uneasy going on these types of buses especially when they stay #with their motors on but without moving idk how i pulled during the greece school trip (ok i did have. a panic attack but i calmed down)#also did i mention my gums started bleeding from cold + stress??? awful awful event #tho its a fun story to talk about. how many people can tell you the time they got stranded at ~250 kms from the start of north pole???#also when they finally rescued us they displaced us in this high end hotel which was. nice. slept exhausted #i also dont think seeing the abisko plateau and its wind turbines mid snowstorm by the day #wouldve been as half as cathartic without considering the day before's nightmare #so as one can tell. i have vry mixed feelings on this experience LOL
