Raphael
Tumblr media
General Information
Height: 200cm
Date of Birth:
Likes: insects of all kinds, researching new plants, having some peace and quiet, getting in on the latest gossip with Gabriel and Hesediel
Dislikes: noisy people, absolutely despises and heavily afraid of bees thanks to an incident, never ever accidentally step into highly over-bread and very deadly Devildom bees
Favourite food: he loves all kind of food and also snacks a lot, it’s comfort for him so he’ll most likely always chew on something
Least favourite food: he really doesn’t like meat, if he has to he eats beef but he absolutey hates white meat, usually only eats fish
Hobbies: drawing, hiking to all kinds of different places to find new species and plants, is very fond of the Devildom for that and sneaks down there without his guardian on a regular basis
Favourite Animal: butterflies and all their variations
Personality
• shy, timid and friendly • tries to avoid people unless he really can’t /cough/ Michael /cough/ • thought you’ll actually rarely anywhere inside the building when he has free time, he’s always wandering around trying to discover new things and doesn’t stop with just one of the three realms • Michael really isn’t too fond of that, especially not with him going to the Devildom since he is one of the most important figures there and he thinks it’s too dangerous and he never even takes his guardian, Barachiel, with him because he prefers being alone • if he is not out and about he is in his office and researches the new plants he found or makes little hand drawn guides about them • definitely has a secret stash of preserved Devildom insects somewhere in his room  • is the one responsible keeping everyone in good health but is also kinda petty about it • like an evil chiropractor that enjoys cracking their bones [I headcanon angel wings need the same treatment as other bones/joints sometimes things get jangled up and have to be readjusted] • makes even the strongest warrior cry /cough Hesediel cough/ • everyone is secretly but also not so secretly scared of him, especially on physical checkup day where he has too see too many angels on one single day and he loses it •  he doesn’t understand why everyone kinda talks behind his back and is careful not to offend him in any way /he knows exactly/ • it’s his form of revenge for putting up with these loud people all day long, constantly being pulled away from drawing and his medical work because someone bent their back a little too far or pulled a muscle or broke an arm again or has a sword stuck somewhere /cough all the guardians cough/ • can make well tasting medicine but decides not to • it’s disgusting and he does it on purpose • but he’s a cinnamon bun so everyone forgives him • or they don’t say anything because holding too long of a conversation with him that is not about his job gives him anxiety
Lore
Bee Incident: He was just snooping around Devildom trying to find new insects and plants like he usually does. No guardian and anyone knowing where he is like usual. Saw a bee he had never seen before and just followed it, accidentally stepping onto a high level demons property, Tartarus, who is highly praised by Diavolo’s family for his business of smuggling humans into there. He also has a hobby of breeding deadly insects to make them a lot worse. Raphael didn’t know any of that following the small bee only to be greeted by bees 12 times that size, deadly poison and sharp teeth and stingers that could pull out your eyeball. He would’ve died there if Tarte didn’t save him back then. That and the fact that he was heaven’s healer and therefore had the most powerful healing magic. In that moment he also fell for the demon he didn’t even recognize at that point and thought he saved him out of the goodness of his heart. Raph pls it’s an evil demon something is wrong with your brain. Tarte however didn’t care about that, he only saved him because his business was already highly dangerous to the peace of the realms and therefore Diavolo’s plans, that was the only reason he ordered the bees to stop attacking him. Angels were just off limits. He also didn’t realize what high level angel Raphael was also making him have no personal interest in the angel whatsoever. Raphael still tries to find out who it was up to this date. He only heard his voice and that’s all he has to go from. Only Gabriel and Hesediel, aka Heave’s gossip throuple,  know about all of that. He was interrogated, aka tickled because Gabriel got suspicious since he was behaving differently a few days after that and it wasn’t because of the pain he was in.
Powers
• is heaven’s healer esentially • is even powerful enough to revive humans and angels alike, though humans are technically prohibited since interfering with their lifes and therefor lifespans is • can see into people’s hearts and souls and knows how they feel it helps with the healing process • has a staff as his weapon
Fashion
• really doesn’t care much, he wears pretty much the same every day • just a button down shirt and most importantly comfortable hiking boots

✘+ family (any muse!)
Tumblr media
send ✘ + a word & i;ll write a headcanon i have for my muse about it !
Accepting | I randomized and it gave me two members of the Kinney line, so hey, Kinney line, step right up.
Family’s a real awkward topic for Edward – not because he dislikes his adoptive family, but because he knows that he was abandoned and left to die by his biological parents. He doesn’t know that it was his mother, nor the reason as to why he was left in the first place, but it’s a thought that he tries not to let weigh him down. He has a loving adoptive family, after all, who’s cared for him as deeply as they have their biological children.
Even so, it’s hard to let go of that fact, you know? To be considered unwanted by the very people who gave you existence?
When Edward was killed and turned into Licorice, Licorice was given a new father figure: Henry. It was definitely an immediate connection, what with Henry’s willingness to take his creation under his wing and Licorice’s…very decidedly not-Miracle self who wanted to help others.
When later toons arrived, Licorice befriended them rather easily, but it was only Henry that he called family at first; however, that wasn’t to say he discounted his friends as such, since he was distraught at having found Boris’s fate.
After Henry left the studio during the massacre, Licorice ( now Blight ) attempted to make a family of his own with Seraph – only to be soundly rejected. While he did befriend Lydia, he considered her more of a friend than a family member, but her death resulted in similar ends to Boris’s.
Anger. Bitterness. Distrust. Doubt. The realization of failure.
Family is a difficult topic for Blight after those thirty years. Thinking that he’d realized his fate was to be alone, he’s pretty closed off to the idea of rebuilding a life in the studio other than suffering souls and apathy. This probably gets doubled-down on after the Hesediel ending, in which Seraph dies; however, the True ending offers some reparations despite Edward and Susie’s terrible states.
…let’s not talk about the Bendy Wins ending, though. That’s just saddening.

la douleur exquise
fandom: beneath the ark pairing: hesariel (hesediel/sariel) word count: 1029 rating: sfw summary: (n.) the heartbreaking pain of wanting someone you can’t have. read it on ao3!
She’s been in love with him since they were children.
The way she feels around him is the same way she felt when he had pushed her on the swings. The weightlessness of soaring and the bottoming out of falling, the butterflies as she climbed higher and higher, the knowledge of his steady hands at her back to slow her down when she began going too fast.
For years, that’s been how she’s described her feelings for him to herself. She supposes flying could work, too, but she doesn’t like it as much.
There’s something so isolating about the flying metaphor. Her wings are her own. Her takeoffs and her landings and the in between are all her.
But on the swings, it had been her and him. It represented them at the beginning, not them somewhere along the way. It was them when times were simpler. It was them before they were Hesediel and Sariel.
And though she won’t admit it, part of the reason she dislikes the flying metaphor so much is because if you fall when you fly, there’s no one around to catch you.
It hits a little too close to home.
***
She admires his dedication to his job, to Michael. If anyone deserves the position of Hesediel, it’s Bat. She knows how hard he’s worked his whole life to get where he is, and she can see how seriously he takes his duties.
She can see how fond he is of Michael.
He goes above and beyond for him, and while that’s expected of every Hesediel, she can see how their relationship is special. And she’s happy for him. For them. The two of them work harder than anyone she’s ever met and truly, their entwined destinies had been written in the stars.
It was fate. Together, they were a force that was unstoppable.
She watches them at every meeting, how they move as one. Where Michael goes, Hesediel follows. They gravitate towards each other, orbit around each other in a way that’s incredible to witness with her own two eyes.
When they leave, Sariel wonders when she had been pushed out of Hesediel’s atmosphere.
***
He’s alone, she notices with surprise one afternoon. It’s rare to see him separated from Michael, and her heart skips a beat.
She decides the papers she’s delivering can wait, and she makes a beeline for him. His back is to her, and she can’t help her smile as she ducks around him.
“Hey,” she says, trying to hide how breathless she suddenly is. It’s been forever since she last got the chance to talk to him alone. It’s exhilarating. Briefly, she thinks it feels a little forbidden, but she brushes that silly thought away quickly.
They’ve been friends longer than either could remember. It shouldn’t feel so different.
He looks down at her, dark brows drawing together in surprise, like he hadn’t heard her approaching. Strange for Hesediel, who was always so alert. She straightens up in response, but so close to him she has to tip her head almost all the way back to meet his eyes.
“Sariel,” is all he says in greeting, and it’s so formal that she rocks back on her heels and peers around him to make sure they really are alone and she hadn’t missed someone on the way in.
“Come on,” she says lightly, once she’s sure it is truly just them. “There’s no need to be so proper. It’s just me.”
“My apologies.” He smiles at her, though it’s strained and doesn’t touch his eyes. She puts on her own to conceal how she mourns for the smile she hasn’t seen since they were instated, the smile he’d had just for her.
“What are you doing here, all alone?” she asks, glancing over her shoulder at the view he was overlooking.
“Just thinking.” His voice is a murmur, and he follows her gaze back out the window.
“You don’t get very much time for that anymore,” she teases gently, nudging him. His stiffens and his eyes flick up, to the clock over the mantle. Her smile slips, and her stomach twists uneasily at the thought that she’d ruined his one moment of freedom.
“I have to go.” She nods numbly, unable to find her voice quickly enough to bid him goodbye. He’s out the door before she can blink.
She’s standing still but it feels like the breath has been knocked out of her.
***
“Batsaikahn has been stripped of his title and removed from Heaven, effective immediately.”
Sariel’s ears are ringing. She’s watching Michael’s lips form the words in slow motion, and she blinks slowly, unable to believe what she’s hearing.
Stripped of his title.
Removed from Heaven.
Effective immediately.
No.
She stumbles forward a step, and Michael turns towards her. His expression is unreadable, but there’s something there in his eyes that tells her he’s being serious.
That look fast forwards her back to the present, where everything is suddenly too loud and there’s bile inching up the back of her throat. She swallows hard, blinking away the tears.
“I’m sorry,” she thinks she hears Michael say, but there’s too much noise where there had been none and she thinks she’s going to be sick.
He would never do this. She knows him. She knows him.
She must have voiced her thoughts aloud, because Michael stares at her for a beat too long before turning away from her, something dark clouding his eyes, and she buries her face in her hands, unable to bear it.
***
Sariel’s knees hit the ground once she’s alone. The dirt is coarse and peppered with gravel that digs into her skin, but she hardly notices.
She crosses her arms over the seat of the swing he’d pushed her in so many years ago and buries her face in them to hide how she cries.
There’s always been the reassurance that he would be there to catch her if she ever slipped. Since they were little, he’s been a constant, even if Michael had become his priority.
She’s been falling for so long, she had forgotten how it would hurt if she hit the ground.

Mur nodded a little- sighing. “Alright...but at least let me heal your hand...” Mur held Zadkiel’s injured one- and placed his hands over it. It was healing weakly- but it was still working. Mur looked really tired. “...I don’t even know if I should be worried about these...drugs in my system...” Mur sighs again, leaning on Zadkiel.
Susan perked up, the pen stopping in her hands. Of course it was Mur’s. It’s all she wanted from him. “Hesediel! It’s been so long-“ she gestured to her shrine. “Come sit- it’s been so long.” She hummed softly, then snickered. “Trust me- I took the color from Lucifer’s wings once- now THAT was a show.”
It was great after that night Mur and Zadkiel got together. They got closer as a couple and there was less fights at the parlor. Because Zadkiel would end them before they started. It was maybe two months after that night when one day- Mur was missing. The shop suggested he was home- ovens running and making pizzas. But the back room was a disaster. The bedroom provided a large hint of struggle- and the various drugs filling the air since there was broken jars everywhere. Except one distinct smell. Chloroform. There was also a note on the bed- typed and not signed.
“I have your finch. Checkmate Zadkiel”
