Your prince/bodyguard thread got me thinking... What do you feel about royal romance Chrima? Like Grima leads Plegia and Chroms the Crown prince and theres this whole thing. I tried to look for something like that in the tag but didnt find it sadly :-: Also off topic but do you think we're going to get the male version of rearmed f!Grima?
I'm not sure I've ever actually seen a royal romance with Chrom/Grima... It's a fairly popular au for regular Chrom/Robin, but... Well, it is understandably a little more difficult to do it with Grima, since you have to come up with some reason why they aren't going right for a full-scale apocalypse. And then of course if you're going to make a full story out of the concept, there has to be some kind of plot that brings them together. Arranged marriage is pretty common in royal x royal stories, but again... you'd have to come up with a justification for GRIMA choosing this option, which is a little difficult because I'm not sure Ylisse really has anything they'd want (if Grima has already been awakened, the Fire Emblem isn't necessary. Nice to take, maybe, but not needed. Unless you come up with some creative reason why Grima DOES need it in your au, of course.)
I think the closest I've ever come to a royal x royal Chrima romance myself is this old arranged marriage au concept I came up with at one point (though I can't remember if I ever actually posted about it anywhere? maybe in a twitter thread once? but I might have just thought about it and then not done it), but the arrangement was actually with EMMERYN. And also, it was originally with Naga, ruler of the Divine Dragon Tribe, but then Grima staged a little coup and took over. The exalt of Ylisse still wanted the marriage to happen for the sake of power (and because he was secretly plotting to invade the Divine Dragons' land and wanted to use negotiations as a front for gathering intelligence and setting up his army).
But Emmeryn had at that point fallen in love with Phila and didn't want to go through with it, so Chrom was determined to make sure she didn't have to marry. Besides, this villain killed Naga and is an all-around asshole! No way he's coming anywhere near Emm! And, well, that makes Grima want to marry her just to piss Chrom off. The exalt is ecstatic and immediately schemes. Chrom tries to cause trouble in an attempt to force Grima to call it off. Grima causes problems for Chrom right back. Neither of them realize that they want to fuck each other so bad it makes them both look stupid.
Of course, Emmeryn and Chrom (and Lissa, who's there too and happy to prank Grima OR Chrom if asked) discover what their father is up to and end up having to work together with Grima to stop their countries from going to war. (Grima does hate humans in this au, but it's a "I don't trust them and I won't help them and I enjoy it when they're miserable" kind of hatred, not a "I will raze the whole world to the ground rather than suffer them to exist" kind of hatred like in canon.) And Chrom and Grima finally get their shit together and realize that there are better ways to flirt than getting in each other's way all the time. Thus, the story ends with Emmeryn becoming the exalt after her father is killed in his attempted invasion, and Chrom marries Grima in his sister's stead.
Buuuut sadly I don't really have any plans to turn that idea into a real fic. There's just too much going on. I'd exhaust myself too easily 😭😭😭
Anyway, as for getting a male version of rearmed f!Grima... Ugh, I hope so! But I doubt it will be this year, what with our 3 m!Robin alts (Brave Robin was voted in of course, but still... I'm shocked we got 2 other m!Robins so close together. Maybe the legendary was predictable, but I did NOT see Groom Robin coming.) The thing is, all of the m!Grimas currently in the game have amnesia, so I definitely do think we need one with memories! It probably makes the most sense for this to be a Future Past Grima to match rearmed f!Grima (and to go along with Fallen f!Morgan), but honestly I would love to see a hierophant!Grima, too... Like, we have NO idea what Grima was up to during Awakening's 2-year timeskip, and I would love to see that explored

Okay so rant time
I was already super pissed when they put a FEH OC in the Thracia banner because it felt like they were purposely skipping a few heroes just to get a fanservicey fairy for the hornies to get off too. But I thought they wouldn't do it again !
And here they go making a poor Awakening Banner, it started relatively well ! Say'ri is great and I feel like she is the only good character here.
Mustafa was added last minute because they needed a Guy (they could have putted Yen'fay but noooooo let's put a random unit) to be the 4* focus.
Then there's Anna, I have mixed feelings about Anna because I don't like when Intsys puts alts on a new heros banner and it feels like they are "running out" of characters even tho I can count at least two focus left before we get all the characters.
Also Emmeryn and Gangrel are there ? Emmeryn looks fine but way too young, like she looks younger than chrom depiste being his older sister. I think Gangrel looks like he was made by PenekoR (correct me if I'm wrong) and I like his artstyle ! If he's the GhB I feel he's gonna be a Kempf type and to be honest I think Kempf is a great GhB.
Now Mirabilis... Everything is wrong with the choice of putting her in that banner. First of all she is a limited mythic (so you can only summon her on this banner) and not a normal mythic. Why ? Because miniskirt fairies sell well. They could have just made her a normal mythic and would have been okay with that. But no they pulled a shit move again and made her the focus of a banner that was based on one of my fav games. Imagine if they made her part of a Tellius or a Three Houses banner, I'm sure people would have yelled the way I do. If Intsys wanted me to like Mirabilis well now they just made sure I hate her.
Anyway, no Miriel because Intsys has no taste. I do agree that it would be normal not to put Miriel on a banner focused on certain parts of the story but when you mix Say'ri and Anna (and freaking Mirabilis) in a otherwise chapter 9/chapter 10 based banner... You have no excuse.
Anyway I hope your faves won't be overthrown by a miniskirt fairy and that they do get in Heroes.

🔮 - About your little sister Azalea
Send me 🔮 for one thought your muse might hear if they could read my muse’s mind. || not accepting || @devotedrigelianflower
He watched Lucina and Lionel running around the courtyard, playing and chasing after each other when Azalea came to view after walking with her friend, Josephine. Chrom’s gaze followed his sister until she sat down to see what Lionel and Lucina were up to.
(…I can’t help but think what happened was rushed out. She should not have given up herself like that…but I know emmeryn would not have stopped her because it’s her wish. Azalea is old enough to know what she had wanted back then. Still…I…wished she would have told me about this beforehand. Can’t help but think she does not count on me. I mean…yeah i might have got angry about this but …*sigh* as long as she is happy, I can’t butt in. Bercutio knows he has part of my life in his empire and looking back…I think she is in safe hands…gods he pisses me off for no reason…ughh…)
Chrom’s face twisted into a subtle angry, eyes squinted down for a couple of seconds before he sighed inwardly. (…I’m just happy she is happy…she deserves it. And Lionel…I’m glad he’s part of this happiness…hopefully he does not grow up to be like his father, tsk.)

FE Fates Replay - Part 2
“A big focus for Fates was beefing up the storyline, which most agreed didn’t really go anywhere in Awakening. While Awakening was an excellent game to play, I can’t tell you what happened.”
Listen, I’m sincere about wanting to replay Fates with a bit more of an open mind, and a desire to come to appreciate more of the cast and viewing it as its own entity. But this interview is the one thing I cannot possibly set aside. Because when you get right down to it? They drew the comparison themselves. They wanted us to think “Oh yeah, Awakening sure had a pretty weak story, so making a complex story everyone can enjoy is our goal in Fates!” They made the comparison themselves, and were so cock-sure that they were convinced Fates was going to blow Awakening’s story out of the water. So no matter how much I look over Fates on its own merits, I can’t get away from drawing the connections. And neither should you. So whenever events like today’s chapters occur, I want you to make that connection. Think about the moments in Awakening that were designed to evoke similar feelings. Think about Emmeryn sacrificing herself to stop a war waged by a despot. Think about Lucina finally getting to meet her father for the first time in her life, and the moment they share. Think of how much emotional impact Awakening had, and compare it to this. Because we can never forget: they thought for sure they did a better job.
Chapter 4 begins to introduce us to the Hoshidan side. The worse side, if you ask me. Rinkah and Kaze are solid characters in their own right, but the rest feel lacking. Ryoma is fine and serious, but he doesn’t really do anything to demonstrate the compassion that Xander has. He mostly just does the thing all the Hoshidans do, and calls all of Nohr a bunch of scum. Hinoka is fine, and seems to genuinely care about Corrin, so she’s probably the best of the four so far. Sakura didn’t do anything too interesting either, and is mostly just there to be the shy younger sister. Takumi...look, we’ll get to him.
Chapter 4 is focused on showing you what the war is like for the Hoshidans. The Nohrians seemed to be on the offensive, while Hoshido seems to be trying to manage against weird creatures called Faceless that the Nohrians create to bypass their Passivity Barrier. See, Hoshido has a barrier created by their mother, which makes anyone passing into it unwilling to fight. A bit contrived, but fine, I’ll just accept that at face value and move on. The Faceless, as entities that are without will or purpose, are unaffected by the magic, and are thus the preferred method of attack. The Faceless, unfortunately, are also without direction, and attack randomly across villages and harm innocents, which Corrin is none too fond of. The chapter itself is a rescue mission, going to help Sakura and Hinoka, but honestly? They...kinda had it under control. If Sakura were able to figure out the concept of “moving away from the bad man,” they wouldn’t even need our help. Hinoka had that well under control. Anyway, you get the reunion with them, and everyone in this kingdom refers to you as family and does seem to care, but there’s a lot of emphasis on you being blood related here. It’s a large focus of who your “proper” family is, and I feel like the appeal to that concept is important for your decision. Again, more on that later.
Azura’s introduction is nice. You’re pretty fast friends. Mikoto attempts to have Corrin sit on the throne of Hoshido to hopefully get her memories back, and again we’re just very focused on getting memories back and proving that they’re the real blood relatives. It’s honestly about all they focus on. They’re definitely glad to have Corrin back, I just wish we could move off of it.
Which almost makes Takumi being such an unrelenting prick refreshing. I’ll admit, I remembered disliking Takumi right away because he was a jerk, but I had forgotten how much of a jerk. Look, I get it. Corrin showing up and being the assumed favored child is frustrating for him. That’s fine. I was ready for him to be an ass to Corrin. What I didn’t expect is him being an asshole to Azura, who’s lived with them peacefully for as long as Corrin’s been gone. Seriously, what is this guy’s damage? He’s the perfect representation of Hoshido as a whole, I think. Like I mentioned in part 1 of this replay, every time the Hoshidans reference Nohr, it’s usually with “scum” or “filth” inserted in. They’re so trained to utterly despise their opponents, to the point Takumi tells someone who’s been living with him as a sister for what is apparently the better portion of a decade that she hasn’t earned the right to say his name. Seriously, fuck you, Takumi.
Chapter 5. Here’s where the intro text becomes relevant. Mikoto has decided to announce for everyone that her long-lost daughter, who was kidnapped by Garon, has returned home. But oh no! There was a surprise plot, and this weird magic man used your obvious evil sword to explode the barrier! Shards of the sword go flying toward you, and Mikoto blocks them with her body, sacrificing her life to protect you! Corrin is so distraught that she becomes a full-on dragon, in what is honestly a pretty cool transformation scene. Ryoma rushes in to fight this hooded figure, and the rest of you fight your way to support him.
Pause. Show of hands, how many of you actually felt something about Mikoto dying? Because...I sure didn’t. We’ve known her a grand total of like 10 minutes, and she’s already dead. The only thing she did was announce that she’s your real mom, try to get your memories back, and die. This entire sequence is incredibly lacking in any form of emotional impact, which is funny, because they wanted to make a good story with Fates, better than Awakening even! And yet...Emmeryn’s death, which was designed to evoke similar feelings of loss, hit way harder. Because we spent time around her. We got a feeling for how she acts and engages with others, in a way that isn’t just Azura saying she’d like to stay in Hoshido because Mikoto is a peaceful ruler. Nothing substantial is shown to us through Mikoto’s actions, and despite being your birth mother, Corrin’s memories aren’t back yet. She has stated time and again that she doesn’t really feel anything about Mikoto, yet when she dies it’s like the biggest tragedy in the world. Don’t get me wrong, Mikoto sacrificing herself for Corrin is a pretty selfless move that would definitely have upset Corrin, but why is this the event that makes her dragon out and not Gunter’s death? Gunter has been with her the whole time, and Hans came out of nowhere on what was said to be a peaceful mission and kicked her kindly uncle into the bottomless pit. Sure, she got some dragon power in that moment, but given the history and connection she must’ve shared with Gunter throughout her life, you’d think that would hit harder than the death of the mother she never knew.
Anyway, following the map itself, Azura trying to calm the raging Corrin, and eventually succeeds, though it takes some effort and Corrin almost kills her in the process. Everyone else moves on from their mom being dead surprisingly fast, mostly marveling at Corrin’s dragon form, while Takumi has an understandable tantrum and snaps at Corrin and Azura that they should fuck off. Honestly, earlier dickitude aside, I can actually see where he’s coming from on this one. Again, it made sense he was mean to Corrin. How does he know you’re really his sister? He feels nothing for you the same way Corrin felt nothing for Mikoto, and that makes some sense. So when your arrival meant that Mikoto died, I can get why he’d be pissed. And in this moment, at least, I can understand why he’d snap at Azura too. He’s lashing out at everyone, and is clearly grief-stricken. So fine, that’s cool. He’s still an asshole, though.
Chapter 6 ramps up as the Nohrians enter Hoshidan territory after the fall of the barrier, and prepare to make one last push to conquer the kingdom and put an end to the war for good. Both sides reach out to Corrin, asking her which family she chooses to side with. That decision...will be made next installment. Which basically means in a few hours, probably. I’m in a good headspace to want to keep playing, so I’ll probably do that, but need to take care of some other stuff first. Which side will I pick?! Oh man, it’s such a mystery!

I think thats a limiting perspective to take on the matter though, it focuses to much on fire emblem being a story first and foremost without taking into consideration how gameplay intersects with story. In the example of fe11 provided its not because you have no choice that the decision is impactful, but because you both do and dont have choice over the situation. someone has to die, but its your choice as the player over who gets sent to their deaths with a running clock on hand to force the decision. its gameplay and story intersecting in a natural manner effectively and its something fire emblem as a series doesn't indulge in all that much to its detriment.
for the opposite end of that matter take fe13 and the occasions the story asks the player to make a choice. none of those decisions matter one iota outside of minor variations of immediate dialogue. its their to serve the sense of projection onto robin as an avatar character effectively and its an aspect of fe13 thats pissed me off to no end ever since it came out because its such a missed opportunity to express narrative consequences through gameplay effects and integration. say in choosing to try and retreat instead of saving emmeryn the game locked you out of advancing supports with chrom until the timeskip to valm, instead of just having slight variations of the dialogue. or more drastic still choosing not try to save emmeryn dips you into an alternate chs 11 and 12 where you have to contend with different enemies and goals. it doesnt have to snowball into major deviations from a core narrative structure, but it woulda been nice to see.
and honestly i dont even think they'd need to massively shrink the cast to accomplish it, thracia 776 for example is able to make use of alternate routing fairly effectively without spiraling off completely from the central story it wants to tell. fe3h does introduce a golden opportunity to explore side characters through character specific paralogues/side quests after all, which would be a fine fit into fes usual narrative structure. youd just need to add another caveat that sees certain paralogues lock and close depending on whose in your roster, and if ya really wanna get crazy you could add even more alternate methods of getting there [say a paralogue between characters a and b that only opens if character c is dead, character c was unrecruited, characters a and b have a higher support rank, or if character c already had a different paralogue with someone else].
and another way to look at it is that you could have a core cast of characters as fe usually does that are only effected by specific decisions or certain loses, the trunk of the narrative, well the wider minor character group could be more widely effected by how you operate on a gameplay level. Say if you chose to go on one route instead of another, then character x leaves the army and you encounter them doing their own thing in a different chapter. or if if you make decision y then characters l m and n leave the army because your going against their interests. and then to tie this into perma death, litter flags as it were where if you chose to accept advice from one core character over the other, then minor character g dies but you get access to a powerful weapon for the protagonist, or minor character t and u die but you get a broken character z in exchange. and then of course there could be more of an effort to integrate on the fly decisions into maps, say a mass of reinforcements come from behind that are to strong for your current level and you need to either bolt as quickly as you can the long way or dump a character as sacrifice to open a shortcut.
mind you, i get that this would infuriate a lot of people, my sadistic tendencies in game design showing through, but i do think its worth considering and i do think its an idea that atleast loses some of its potency without the knowledge that perma death existing in the game itself.
What are your thoughts on the common sentiment that perma death no longer has much room in FE games anymore? Basically, with more story driven narrative, the concept of perma death wears a bit thin because it limits the characters that can be truly important in said plot (unless they retreat instead of outright dying). Do you think perma death is a mechanic no longer needed in modern FE? Do you think it still adds anything at all? Do you think leaving it out entirely might be best for FE17?
I think, from a gameplay perspective, it absolutely has value. It has been, for better or for worse, a core part of the series' identity for a long time. It's really the thing that a lot of people knew Fire Emblem for. Its also integral to a lot of people's enjoyment of FE as a series. I think they'll have a hard time getting rid of it if that's a decision they ever try to make.
I also think, from a writing perspective, the writers are never really going to be able to grow and create more distinct, impactful narratives if it continues to be the primary consideration when creating the story for the game. I also think it's used as a crutch, or as a justification for bad narrative decisions (most often by the fans themselves). Think Dimitri's only support system being Byleth in 3H. The game HAS to be that way, because all of these other characters could be dead. But if you have those characters alive, it looks like the game is just blowing off all of Dimitri's other connections in favor of propping up the self insert.
Personally, from a story writing perspective, I think FE17 will be a much stronger game if they don't have it. From a narrative perspective permadeath only ever adds anything if characters are allowed to react to important deaths and those deaths have a long term impact. If a character dies and the MC is sad about it for one or two scenes but then goes on their merry way and acts like nothing happens, it's not impactful (think Ike's reaction to Greil vs. Ike's reaction to losing a random character, like Oscar. Or Dimitri's reaction to Rodrigue vs. his reaction to Annette dying). In, like, every case permadeath only really removes from the narrative. You might get fluff reactions to the deaths, but that's all it is. Characters can't act too sad for the rest of the game because there's no feasible way you could keep track of every potential combination of dead characters they could be mourning. The only characters who are allowed to have impactful deaths are NPC characters who were always going to die within the narrative anyway.
Basically, I get why people love permadeath, and I don't hate its existence in FE. But I think we've reached a point where they have two goals: make a meaningful narrative, and keep the gameplay experience that helped give the series its identity. Unfortunately, these things are set up to actively sabotage each other. They're almost mutually exclusive. You can't build out a complicated, interconnected narrative full of personality and characters people love if you only have one or two players in it, and you can't keep everyone unkillable for the narrative because people will feel like it invalidates the point of permadeath.
I don't see permadeath ever going away completely, but I can see them shifting it so more characters are "unkillable" so they can still contribute to the narrative or including more NPC/NPC-lite characters the narrative can focus on. I think, at the moment, it's the best compromise they'll be able to come up with.

keep this ask for last and answer all the ones you didn't get
[Boy, this is long...]
Supportive – Who did you S-rank and why?
In Awakening, I S-ranked Tharja. Not cause she appealed to me as a character or as a “sexy waifu”, but because she shored up my unit’s only stat deficiency of mag/res.
As far as Fates, my Birthright file S-ranked Kaden, and my Revelation S-ranked Reina due to a miscalculation on army-wide supports -- though she surprised me as a marriage a option, even if she can be a little unnerving at times.
The marriage aspect is overall sort of eh to me, so I rarely have a reason outside of “how is this beneficial to me” or “whups I made a mistake & you need to marry so and so instead lol sorry bruh”
Misfortunate – Unluckiest moment in game?
Don’t even speak to me of Birthright. I still haven’t finished the damn game because I got so fucking frustrated with it. The entire playthrough was a big “fuck you”.
Otherwise, probably the time I played through Radiant Dawn and got to the level where you fight Oliver again. Ike & Soren got completely separated from the bulk of the group, and were surrounded by Halberdiers and Snipers. Ike got hit by well over 10 Sniper crits until Soren ran out of staves.
Aching Blood – Did you name/forge any weapons? If so, what was your favorite name that you gave to a weapon?
Ever since PoR! Back when you could name and change the color of the weapons (not relevant, really, but you could have freaking neon weapons, come on).
I can’t really recall specific names, there’ve been a lot. My most sentimental was probably a golden sword from PoR I dubbed “Golden Claw -- not the most creative sounding, but it stems from a fantasy world I made up when me, my bro & a friend of ours used to play with toy swords in our backyard. It was the first step into writing and world building I ever had, so it’s meaningful to me.
As for sheer punny names, though, I forged Jakob a dagger dubbed “Get Served”.
Triple Threat – Swords, lances, or axes?
Generally axes, I just love to bash/crush things in games. But, irl, I have more...experience??? (not really, but what else am I to call it?) with waving fake swords around and handling real blades. I have a few in my closet, I really should post some pics of them.
In Extremis – Clutch moment for you in game?
I’m sure there must have been some -- especially in RD -- but I’m blanking. The only thing I can think of atm is Zihark standing alone in the river, completely surrounded/barraged by Laguz, and Astra/critting for most of the chapter. Barely surviving for most of the time, and quickly running out of healing items and eventually weapons.
Wary Fighter – Are you reckless or careful in your strategies?
I vacillate. I’m not that great of a strategist. With newer levels/games, I’m more careful -- I fight defensively more often than not, and try to bait enemies; which didn’t work very well in Fates, and it annoyed me.
With games/levels I know like the back of my hand, I run around like a nutter because I know I can.
Swap – Did you ever sacrifice a unit in order to save another?
All the damn time. If you play without perma death, you’ll likely come across a situation where you just...have to. Meat shield was a favored term for me and my bro when we were younger, going through Blazing Sword-Radiant Dawn. Some characters were literally there to soak up hits, block paths, and draw attention in dire need.
Aptitude – Was FE easy for you when you started or was it difficult?
I started when Blazing Sword came out to the US, so way back in 2003, when I was only eight years old. Some things were difficult on account of obvious lack of thought as a child, but I learned fast what to do and what not to do. I would say it was easy to get into, though there sure were rough patches.
Rally Spectrum – What is your most favorite/preferred stat?
Defense, followed up closely by Attack. I like my tanks, what can I say?
Galeforce – What was your most broken unit?
Not counting my level who knows what MU in Awakening, the most broken unit I’ve ever used was Ephraim. Without using any stat increasing items, at the end of it, he had maxed every stat aside from res (which he was one or two off from max) through just level up. He’s ridiculously unbalanced. PoR Ike is also crazy unbalanced, and it’s not hard to max him in crucial stats without even trying -- plus, he uses Aether like a nut in PoR.
Rightful God – Favorite boss in the series?
This is really, really, really hard?? I love Nergal and his backstory -- not mention his kickass theme, and flashy magic -- I love Lloyd, because you really just don’t want to fight him plot-wise, and he’s a challenging boss to boot.
As much as I just don’t like Orson, he’s a great boss on account of why he turns sides. It’s fucking heartbreaking, and left a very solid impression on me as a child. It’s really, really sad for those of you who haven’t played Sacred Stones, and I recommend looking into it if only for just that scene in the game. I felt absolutely awful after clearing that chapter. I vaguely remembering setting the game down for a bit, because wow that just happened.
I love the Black Knight, I love Ashnard (the crazy fuck). I love/hate fighting Shiharam; it’s an underrated, but very emotional level in my opinion. Especially if you recruited Jill. It’s sad, but it’s realistic and I love them for not glossing over the real facts of fighting against your own countrymen and family, no matter that you feel you’re doing the right thing by opposing them. Probably loads more of PoR bosses. BERTRAM WAS ALSO A FAV NEARLY FORGOT HIM!
I love so many RD bosses, too. Jarod was a great boss, in my opinion -- I just loved his character a lot. Every single boss in the Tower of Guidance is incredible, and it’s constant “fuckfuckfuck” and angst the whole way. You will never forget going up against Ashera. Never.
That one dude in Awakening after Emmeryn dies, can’t recall his name, but I felt terrible doing that level.
Fates??? Leo was fun to beat up and I liked his cutscene, I guess? I don’t really recall many bosses that I cared about. Does Silas count?
Veteran – Which FE games have you played and what was your favorite?
Blazing Sword, Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, Shadow Dragon, Radiant Dawn, Awakening, Fates. Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn and Blazing Sword will always be my tops in this franchise.
Paragon – Was there a unit that you put extra effort into/ favored over others?
Harken and Lowen. Gerik. Ike, Boyd, Gatrie, Ranulf, Mist, Rhys, Rolf, Leanne, Rafiel, Oscar, Nolan, Volke, Geoffrey, Mordecai, lots more probably -- ones I did regret putting time into: PoR Sothe, and Kyza in Radiant Dawn. Lon’qu, Stahl, Lissa, Miriel, others I’m forgetting whups?? Silas and Kaden.
Quick Burn – Do you try to get through the game quickly or do you take your time?
Take my time, especially now. It’s amazing how much dialogue/plot I missed as a kid by punching the A button or skipping scenes entirely. Or stuff I simply didn’t understand as a kid, too.
Vow of Friendship – Do you reset if you lose units in battle?
Depends on A) the unit, B) how the unit was killed, C) how long I’ve been playing whatever level it is.
If they’re a favorite unit, yeah, I’ll reset. If the unit (regardless of favoritism) died because of something ridiculous, I’ll reset out of frustration or annoyance at something that was most likely circumstantial, but usually only the once. If I almost clear a level and a unit dies -- especially one I care for -- you bet your butt I’m shutting the game off and swearing up a storm before leaving it to sit for a few hours because I’m pissed at whatever mistake/bullshit I made/happened.
But, on the whole, if someone dies, they die. It doesn’t bother me overly much, and I know that I can just use that character on another playthrough.

I was going to saw Fire Emblem but that's pretty broad, so Awakening or Fates. Or both, if you so please.
hey there’s only like 400+ characters in the series Awakening
Favorite Male Character: Henry
Favorite Female Character: Say’ri
Least Favorite Character: Walhart or Gangrel
Favorite Ship: oh man, either Henry/Nowi or Inigo/Lucina I guess
Favorite Friendship: Chrom and Robin
Favorite Quote: anything Cherche, Morgan, Henry, or Gregor says is pure gold. but Lucina’s “Never hath I spied Pointy Demonspanker shine so brightly!” or Maribelle’s “Really, must your EVERY phrase be vulgar? It should be “WHOM did you piss off,” Brady.”
Worst Character Death (if any): okay so personally, Emmeryn’s death didn’t shock me that much. what did shock me is the first time I played Awakening and I had Say’ri kill Yen’fay after all that had happened
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: when Robin managed to set fire to hundreds of ships at sea and everybody’s freaking out, now that’s always hilarious
Saddest Moment: endgame if Robin decides to sacrifice themselves to kill Grima
Favorite Location: the mila tree! I always look forward to that battle, even if is a bit of a pain in the ass
Fates
Favorite Male Character: Subaki and Leo are tied for that title haha
Favorite Female Character: Kagero
Least Favorite Character: enemy characters aside because we’re supposed to hate them, Selena doesn’t get any easier to listen to it doesn’t matter whether it’s Fates or Awakening
Favorite Ship: I don’t actually have any top favourite ships, I multi ship too many characters for that
Favorite Friendship: Kagero and Orochi
Favorite Quote: my mind’s running blank at the moment, but something tells me it would be something either Camilla or Takumi says
Worst Character Death (if any): FLORA, ELISE, BOTH OF SCARLETS, WHO THOUGHT THAT ANY OF THESE WERE OKAY
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: when does Fates ever have happy moments? I guess when Xander finally joins you in Revelation so now the whole Hoshido and Nohr cast is on your team at that point
Saddest Moment: Azura’s death
Favorite Location: Hoshido in general is really nice
