We got a “Spider-Man” moment right here. ;)

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming (in other words, I found my pen)

WHERE IS SEASON THREE?!

"If only... We'd be able to actually get work done here, instead of worrying about the slayers breathing over our shoulders." Hades gave an exasperated sigh before moving to get his coat. Since they were going out to the night life of the city, it was best he at least look his best.

But being able to get any research done while on their little 'vacation' would have been a welcome dream. But, they'd have to head back to get anything further done. Not only that, but he had plans with Nakime to work on pinpointing each and every location the slayers were held up within. And now with Astra and Kokushibo no longer needing to hold back..

Ubuyashiki was now on borrowed time.

"Then let's take the time to enjoy ourselves." He looked a bit surprised when he heard Kokushibo had never gambled before.

"Really? Well American gambling is a touch different. They focus on games of card games to gamble away their money. Specifically games called Blackjack and Poker. I can teach you both." Hades had a calm, relaxed smile on, though his eyes told of extreme hunger.

"Some places downtown have started putting in things they call 'Slot Machines'. Never touched them myself but I've seen them occasionally. They're absurdly loud and I tend to avoid those locales due to the noise." He preferred the cards himself.

Even so, when Astra left, he gave her a confident smile, and a nod. He hopped she rested well. They wouldn't be gone too long, after all. And it'd give her a chance to reflect and thing about everything. A chance to focus, and rest her mind. He certainly had to a few times, especially after he ate his first, whole human. It.. was certainly a strange thing to think about and for him to wrap his mind around at first.

Now? It felt normal.

"Oh! I heard they might be putting on a production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' actually! I've been hearing great things about it, so we can see if it'll be playing tomorrow night!" another benefit to the focus on nightlife, they seemed to cater to that later hour. Which was a perfect time schedule for them.

A city that never really 'slept'. And indeed, once they headed out of the home, it was still quite populated even at night. People on the street, going to and from bars, restaurants, homes, businesses. Sure, some were closed for the night, places that operated only in the morning.. But.. even the street lamps remained lit and kept the world open to them.

Especially with the blossoming use of electricity to keep everything lit.

Of course, Hades took point. Leading Muzan and Kokushibo to the most more lively downtown district. Far more establishments were open here, many places being loud, rowdy, music coming from every which way, and of course.. humans acting as if they had little to no cares in the world.

Sure a few police were seen here or there, but they primarily were focused on drunkards that'd stumble out of a building every so often. No lurker slayers in their uniforms among the crowd, no hunters who knew what they were by scent alone...

They could simply.. live.

But Hades made due on his promise, heading to a Y shaped intersection that was split by a large theater that was dolled up with electric lights, signs showing the current plays and when they'd be opening their doors. And indeed, several were selling their tickets. Not for this night, but the next night, as this night they were currently booked.

"Well, we should get some tickets for tomorrow night since we're here. So we get good seats." He looked to Muzan.

"I can translate anything you can read, Muzan-sama."

[ ― ❝If only the spider lily was stable enough to make it over the ocean,❞ he said, as if it were a shame. And it was. ❝As it was, we would've had to wait a year, here, and that's not considering how long it takes to find the materials I need and create the formula itself.❞ It was better to go back and put the lily formula together and then come back much later. But it was just that -- what he wanted, rather than what he was having to do. Not that this trip was boring, by any means.

A demon that he wanted was changed and Atreus was looking like a strong candidate as well. If he could get over his fear of violence. He could see where it came from, if his mother was any indication and the few things Astra let slip around them wasn't exactly... good. Overall, for Hades and Astra themselves such a trip was good. And so it was good for him. He wanted to give his demons what they most desired and if they behaved he reached out to them. If they didn't do as he asked they were punished. He wasn't overly hateful about it if it was small...

❝Kokushibo's never been gambling,❞ Muzan said, ❝I've never gotten him to try it. Despite my best efforts.❞

❝It is something that.... I don't think I would enjoy.❞ He wasn't one for crowded or loud places, either, but that didn't matter to him. ❝Though I can... try it for one night. I do not think ...it would be too bad... this is a... new place...❞ With new experiences. Even if he didn't like it... well, it wasn't like they would be there very long. He was traditional but he didn't mind allowing different things every once in a while. They were demons. They were supposed to be this way.

Astra watched the back and forth with interest. It seemed as if they were going to have a good time and that was all that mattered -- she knew that she was a risk to have around and she was... better at controlling herself, now. The feeling to bite wasn't as bad and she didn't feel as if she were clawing at her own sense of sanity..

❝Thank you. Don't -- don't do anything I wouldn't do.❞ Which would leave... well, everything at their disposal. There was a little smile on her face as she left, her eyes shining in a very bright way.

❝Perhaps we could catch something at the theatre tomorrow night. I want to see all that America has to offer. Already I like it.❞ Muzan liked it a lot. Things were open later and there were things to do. More than just daytime hours. It was somewhat comforting that other countries were different but at the same time it was annoying that they had to go somewhere else to find it. And it was even more surprising that Hades and Astra left such a place.

He didn't know if he could have done that, knowing all this. But being hunted was never fun and they had the opportunity to start over in a new country... which, here, he could understand because this was the most free he ever felt. ❝Show us how to have fun.❞ ― ]
