*crawls over completely exhausted* No Canon Lukanette... Need fluff... maybe salt too...
Luka gave Marinette's parents a smile as he waited for Marinette to come downstairs, though to say he was concerned was an understatement. He and Marinette hadn't been dating for long, but he knew something was wrong due to her song singing even more stress-filled notes than usual. He wanted to talk to her about it, but also wanted her to open up to him herself when she was ready.
Wanting to focus on smiling for her when she came down, Luka shook off the thought and stared up at Marinette's trap door. Seeing that she hadn't come down yet - understandable given that she had no idea he was there - he pulled out his phone and navigated to her contact. However, just before he could tap on it, there was an abrupt, loud, and unusual noise coming from Marinette's room, followed by the sound of Marinette yelping and presumably hitting the floor.
Luka gasped. “Marinette!”
Not even thinking, he hurried upstairs, phone clutched tightly in his hand as he pushed the trap door up and let himself in.
Over a dozen tiny kwami were speeding around her room, each with distinct voices and one of whom he recognized as Sass. He'd initially thought that the Liberty was chaos, and it was, but there was something different about fifteen little melodies all moving around simultaneously and wreaking havoc. They hadn't even seemed to notice that he was there.
There was also a ladybug-patterned ellipsoid lying on the table in the middle of it all, though Luka's eyes fixated mostly on Marinette lying there on the floor, now staring at him with wide eyes as he took in the whole situation.
"L-luka!" she greeted, voice forced. "W-what a surprise! I mean, you must be surprised at my toy collection! See, there's—there’s this magnetism thing going on that lets them seem like they're flying and—"
She was cut off as one of the kwami accidentally dropped something to the floor, making her flinch from the loud noise. Even the sound all around the room was overwhelming, the little beings ignoring Marinette’s panic in favor of playing with her things.
That's when the tears started, subtly at first until Marinette let out a whimper.
Ignoring all the revelations he just went through, Luka hurried to Marinette's side, helping her up and checking her for injuries. "Marinette, are you okay—"
"You know!" she cut in, running her fingers anxiously through her hair. "You're not supposed to know!"
He took a breath, recognizing that he was going to have to deal with these revelations now. "It's okay. I promise, I'd never—"
"No, it's not okay!" she argued, throwing her hands out. "I've been guardian for just a few days and this—this isn't—! I already—and now the kwami are out—!" She slumped and dropped her gaze to the floor, ashamed. "I'm a bad guardian. I'm a bad girlfriend. I couldn't protect you from knowing!"
"Marinette, you're not a bad girlfriend. You—" He paused, something occurring to him. "Protect me...?"
He hadn't been Viperion for long, but Luka remembered the importance given to secret identities. He understood that it was a form of protecting oneself and one's loved ones, meaning that a permanent hero like Ladybug needed to keep hers a secret the most.
"Is..." His stomach twisted in knots as he remembered all the dates she'd had to either miss or postpone. He bent down, trying to look at her face, and when he still couldn't, he gently cupped her face and encouraged her to make eye contact with him. "Is that why—"
"Yes! That's why I have to keep cutting our dates short, and not being there for you, and not going on patrols with Chat, and why I haven't had time to take those stupid Adrien pictures down! I can't do anything right!"
At some point, the volume of her voice had finally drawn the attention of the kwami, who all stared at her like children watching their parent having a breakdown and feeling awkward about it. Luka paid them no mind, his heart breaking as he processed all the information Marinette was telling him while all he could do was pull her into a hug and just hold her.
"I'm sorry I found out like this," he admitted, running his hand up and down along her back. "I'm glad that I know but I would've wanted you to share that secret with me instead."
"I-I'm sor—"
"Please don't apologize, Marinette," he gently begged. "I hate hearing songs with meanings I don't agree with. You don't have anything to feel sorry for. If I had the ladybug earrings instead, I would've had to do the same thing as you, and you wouldn't have asked me to apologize, would you?"
She looked up at him, expression pained and full of so many burdens that he couldn't believe he hadn't seen before. He brushed her fringe aside and rested his palm against her forehead, concerned about how pale she seemed and worried that she'd stress herself to a cold.
She leaned into his touch, then further until he was forced to move his hand away. She buried her face in his chest, surprising him as she hugged him tightly. Her song turned from the harsh wail of an electric guitar to the mellow tones of an acoustic, and he sighed in a mixture of relief and happiness.
"...Luka," she murmured, lightly clutching whatever fabric she could reach. "The movie. We'll miss it at this rate."
He hummed, half in response to what she said and half in content. "You're so much more important than the movie."
His heart skipped a beat when she actually giggled, her grip on him loosening and the hug turning to something she did because she wanted to, not for comfort. "More important than Jagged Stone?"
He chuckled, burying his face into her hair as he returned the hug. "Always. Even my idol can't compete with my muse."
She leaned further into him, her melody picking up hints off a bell chiming happily. She almost knocked him over from how much of her weight she was putting on him, but he didn't protest and even enjoyed it; it meant she was trusting him with her secrets instead of shouldering the weight herself.
"I know I couldn't have known," he began, "but I'm sorry that our dates took up your time. I never wanted to cause you any stress."
"But I wanted to!" she insisted, jolting up to look at him. "It's just—it's been a lot, and—"
He placed two fingers against her lips before she could start rambling. "Marinette, I don't need to go on normal dates to have fun with you."
She blinked, waiting for him to move his fingers before asking, "Y-you don't?"
He smiled. "Of course not. I can hang out here while you work, while you do important stuff."
With a small, amused snort, she pulled away from him and wiped any stray tears away. "You're 'important stuff.'"
He grinned like the love-struck fool that he was, then shrugged. "Well, I'll still be here anyway then, right?"
"That's true." She paused, glancing off to the side in consideration, then looked back at him as she asked, "in that case... would you help me with something?"
"Anything," he answered immediately.
She pointed, his gaze drawn to her wall full of Adrien pictures. "Like I said, I haven't had the time, and... I've been wanting to remodel forever."
He was more than happy to help, and there was a selfish part of him that considered it far better than any movie they could've seen.
—————
It took a bit more time than either of them anticipated to take down all of the images, but between the two of them, it wasn't a hard job. The biggest time-waster during the whole thing was Marinette's rambling, but Luka welcomed it wholeheartedly.
Due to not watching much TV, he honestly hadn't heard about what'd happened when Jagged Stone had been at the bakery and the camera crew had invaded Marinette's privacy, and he couldn't believe how much mental stress she must've gone through. After all, even though he and Juleka shared a room, there was still a divider for when they needed their privacy, so he wasn't unaware about how personal it was to have one's room recorded without their consent, even if nothing embarrassing got caught on camera.
It seemed cruel to know that Paris' supposedly lucky superhero was perhaps one of the unluckiest people he'd ever known.
Almost on cue, just when the last picture was down and Marinette was debating on what to do with them, her phone went off with a ringtone that sounded very much like danger. Looking over, there was a butterfly symbol flashing on the screen and Marinette's expression faltered at the sight of it.
"Akuma alert," she said flatly, with a pout that would've been cute had he not known what it meant. She hesitated, eyes flicking from him to her phone. "Um... look, I... I have to—"
"Go," he interrupted with a reassuring smile. "I'm not going anywhere, and I'll be here when you're done."
"But—" She frowned and glared at her phone, clearly knowing that she had to leave but not wanting to.
"I mean it, Marinette. It's okay."
She looked at him like she'd never heard those words from anyone else before, eyes vulnerable but fond. She gave him a nod, a brief smile flickering across her face before she turned away and rushed to the stairs. She shouted for her transformation on the way out and Luka watched as her clothes shifted into her ladybug-patterned bodysuit.
When she was completely gone, Luka felt a sudden unsteadiness and leaned against the table for support. It wasn't that he was shocked exactly to hear that Marinette was Ladybug, but he was still overloaded nonetheless.
As his hand rested on the table, he felt the heel of his palm brush something and looked down to see the pile of Adrien pictures next to him. It sent another rush through his body at the reminder that she'd asked him to help her take them down. He was dating her, sure, but he wasn't foolish enough to think that there were no lingering feelings for Adrien. He knew where she stood and he was okay letting her test the waters with him, as she did have feelings for him and who was he to complain if his crush wanted to date him? Besides, he couldn't help wanting to see if maybe it would truly make their bond stronger.
Looking at the wall now, clear of anything but the pink paint, he knew this was real and ended up wishing he'd brought his guitar.
Then, remembering the akuma alert on Marinette's phone, Luka pulled out his own and began to search, eventually finding what she already had: a direct link to watch streams and updates on whatever akuma or sentimonster shenanigans were going on. He knew well enough that he would only give himself anxiety from it, but he wanted to watch his girlfriend in action as a form of support.
Gosh, Ladybug was his girlfriend.
He took a deep breath to steady himself as he watched the footage, his eyes locked to the screen and only shifting when he felt various figures drawing close. He looked up to see that the kwami had all gathered around him, watching the screen closely.
"So..." the pig-looking kwami began, fiddling with their own paws like they knew they were being awkward. "Have you ever wanted to be a hero?"
There was a hiss off to the side, Sass cutting in with, "He already has me."
Luka wasn't feeling up to smile at that, debating with himself before sighing. "Marinette works really hard, and her song is full of sour notes right now," he said. Stepping away and heading for the chaise lounge, he sat down and added, "I hope you can figure out how to rewrite them."
The kwami all exchanged looks, some confused by the metaphor and others who perhaps understood but didn't know how to follow up on it. Luka didn't give them his attention, focusing on the akuma battle playing on his phone.
As he'd expected, it made him a little nervous actually seeing Ladybug in action due to now knowing it was his girlfriend fighting out there. He believed in her abilities and mentally cheered her on, but he just kept remembering all the akuma he'd known about and how stressful it had to have been.
Off to the side, some of the kwami joined forces to help pick up some of the items they'd previously dropped on the floor. It was only after Marinette's room looked as it did before that they properly joined Luka to watch the battle with him.
It was a start.
—————
The battle between Ladybug and the akuma (and Chat Noir was there he supposed) seemed to be getting into its final verse when Luka heard the sound of the trap door being grabbed and clicked open, making him jump. He was only able to whisper a, "Hide," so the kwami could act before Sabine peered inside the room and took a curious look around.
Apparently, they all thought that huddling against his back was a great hiding spot, and he could only smile sheepishly at Sabine while attempting to ignore the weird feeling.
"You're still here?" Sabine asked. "I thought you were going somewhere, and..." She raised a brow, looking around once more. "Where's Marinette?"
"Ah," Luka began, his mind rushing for an excuse, "we actually decided to have our date here instead. Marinette just went up to her balcony to grab something."
It didn't feel good to lie, though he also felt a sense of accomplishment in protecting Marinette's secret. Was this what Marinette dealt with all the time; having to lie to people even if she didn't want to?
Sabine glanced up briefly to where the balcony was, then back to him, slightly confused but rolling with it. "Alright. Do you two need anything?"
"No, ma'am. Thank you though," he replied, hoping it didn't sound forced.
Thankfully, Sabine nodded and left without asking any further questions, the kwami emerging and clinging to Luka while they peered at the now-closed trap door. Luka breathed a sigh of relief, then went back to watching the akuma battle on his phone.
The rest of the fight took a couple minutes, and all that was left to do afterward was wait for Ladybug to return. Once again, Luka wished he had his guitar, making a mental note to get all of his feelings out when he got home, as typical music apps just didn't do anything for him.
An expected "thump" eventually came from the balcony, and the kwami drifting away from Luka as Ladybug descended and landed on her bed. She saw Luka staring at her and initially flinched, but it was clearly a reflex from people seeing her as Ladybug where she shouldn't be, and she hurried down to meet with him afterward. Luka hopped to his feet, not hesitating to meet her halfway and envelop her in a hug, earning a squeak out of her.
"L-luka?"
"Sorry," he murmured. "Just... I got to think about everything you must've gone through without m—" He choked off, suddenly embarrassed, then corrected, "—someone to help you."
She blinked, then giggled and hugged him back. "You're my boyfriend. You're apologizing for hugging me and being worried about sounding selfish?" She nestled her face against his shoulder and he blushed at how warm she was. "Don't. I like it when you're a little selfish, Luka. It grounds me; makes me feel like you're not totally out of my league."
Luka scoffed, nuzzling his head against hers. "You're in a league all your own. I'm literally dating a superhero."
"Trust me, it's not as cool as it sounds."
"I disagree. I think you're really cool."
She blushed profusely. "H-hey..."
He chuckled. "By the way, your mom came to check up on us."
Ladybug gasped, then pulled back, eyes wide and concerned. She was clearly about to apologize, so he cut her off before she could.
"I told her that we were having our date here and that you were getting something from the balcony. Everything's alright."
Her shoulders eased. She let out a sigh of relief as her head fell back against his shoulder. "Thank you."
He hummed contently, resting his hand along her back and keeping it there. Then, realizing when Sabine came up earlier and might do it again, he reminded her, "You're still Ladybug."
"Huh? ...Oh!" she said, though with less panic than normal and unwilling to recoil from the happy spot she was in.
He heard the whisper of her de-transformation phrase and winced as the light engulfed her, slowly turning her back into Marinette. He felt the spandex under his hand turn into fabric and Marinette's breath against his skin as she exhaled.
A kwami that Luka deduced was Marinette's flew a small distance away, eyeing Luka warily and semi-critically. Luka didn't blame her - he wasn't supposed to know - but he also knew that it was far too late to change anything now, and there was no way he was going to abandon Marinette or pretend he knew nothing. He imagined that the kwami knew that too.
"...I'm Tikki," the kwami greeted finally. "It's nice to meet you officially, Luka."
Luka gave her a nod in return, then stiffened somewhat as Marinette squeezed him tighter, burying her face further against him like she truly cherished him.
"It's still a lot," she whispered. "Is it okay if you hug me a little longer?"
"Of course." Though, he paused for a moment before adding, "Would it be more comfortable for you if we move to your chaise?"
"Hm?" She pulled away just enough to look down and realize that they were still awkwardly standing at the bottom of the steps to her bed. "Oh! Yeah, I mean—I didn't even—"
"Hey." He tenderly cupped her cheek, offering a smile. "I didn't complain, did I?"
She looked briefly surprised, making him wonder just how much she'd had to apologize in the past. They slowly made their way over to the chaise lounge, Luka settling down and opening his arms for her so she could settle onto his lap and snuggle against him. He leaned back against the chaise, throwing his legs across the length of it, then wrapped an arm around Marinette to make her feel secure.
"This is nice. It's... um—" She peeked up at him, then grinned shyly. "—melodic? Is that what you'd call it?"
He couldn't stop himself from snorting.
Marinette blushed in embarrassment. "H-hey! I'm trying, okay?"
"I know." He took a strand of her hair in his hand and stroked it. "You always try, and I love that about you."
She let out a series of whines at that, but doesn't protest the compliment either. She nestled against his chest, keeping her face turned away enough to still talk to him without her voice being muffled.
"I just... want to know more about you, Luka," she told him. "You're so sweet and I felt awful having to ditch you. Didn't it bother you?"
He gave a one-armed shrug. "You were busy. I unders—"
"Luka."
He stopped, meeting her firm gaze and knowing that he wasn't getting out of this easily. He sighed, admitting, "...Yeah, it bothered me, but it wasn't because of you or that I didn't trust you. I... see—my dad..." He rubbed the back of his neck, realizing that he'd never told anyone this story before. "I never knew who he was. I asked my mom so many times, but she never gave me an answer. Whenever you had to leave and lie to me, I..."
"Oh." She raised herself up more to meet him closer to eye level. "I'm so sorry—wait—sorry, you told me not to apologize—Sorry! I did it agai—ACK!"
He laughed, feeling warm and delighted by how much she cared about him and wanted him to feel secure in their relationship. He squeezed her shoulder in reassurance, wanting to nuzzle her for how cute she was being and just barely able to hold himself back.
"Don't worry about it. I'm glad you were looking out for me, but you deserve someone to look out for you too."
She pouted a bit at the heartfelt comment, then smiled and raised her hand to settle on his along her shoulder.
He hummed, pausing purposefully for effect before asking, "...So, what does the great guardian Marinette want to do now?"
"Oh my gosh, Luka."
He grinned, happy to compliment her until she was completely red. "How about the brave and heroic Ladybug then?"
"Luka."
He reached up to caress her cheek with his thumb. "But, if you ask me, I like the kind, sincere civilian Marinette best."
"LUKA!"
—————
The rest of their "date" passed by smoothly, Marinette's parents having left them alone so as to not interrupt anything. Marinette had idly brought up the idea that the movie might still be playing - just at a different time than they planned on going - but Luka brushed off the idea and insisted that he was happy there and didn't need to go on a "real" date with her to have fun, opting to leave it up to her.
And... yeah, neither of them were willing to leave their current position and exchange it for having to sit in different seats at a theater with other people around. They opted to just stare at the ceiling and talk, the kwami having respectfully retreated to Marinette's bed to give them privacy.
Talks of their past meetings and when she left to become Ladybug soon turned into a game of finishing Jagged Stone lyrics. Luka, either by being the bigger fan or just having an easier time remembering them, ended up winning in the end, though he couldn't have expected Marinette to follow up by immediately leaving his lap. He'd held back a whine at the sudden lack of warmth and wondered if maybe she'd been teasing him with some sort of punishment by going away.
But then she'd returned with a tiny pink gift box, and inside was a guitar pick necklace signed by Jagged Stone himself.
"He came into the bakery the other day and I had him sign it for you," she explained. Taking it out to fully present it to him, she asked, "Do...do you like it?"
"I love it, Marinette," he replied immediately, reaching out to feel the guitar pick and properly appreciate it. "I can have this?"
She smiled in response, holding the necklace out in a gesture that made his heart skip a beat, realizing that she was offering to put it on him herself. He leaned close, feeling the light brush of her fingers against his neck as she slipped it onto him. He silently hoped that it was durable because he was absolutely never taking it off.
Marinette's hands lingered on the string even when the necklace was fully on, Luka meeting her gaze to see that she was looking at him with all the love he'd ever dreamed of her offering him. He didn't say a word and neither did she, but with a light tug on his necklace, he was pulled towards her into a kiss. It was definitely too deep for their first but also so nice that neither of them cared, and not even the Ladybug revelation could outmatch his surprise at being so readily smooched.
Luka reached for the hand grabbing his necklace, Marinette letting go of it so they could thread their fingers together. His song was going crazy as she leaned forward, clearly wanting more from him and him being wonderfully helpless to resist her. He breathed her in, his other hand finding its place on her side. Her own hand rose up so her fingers could settle against the back of his neck, and he couldn't bring himself to be embarrassed by the sound he made when she started playing with his hair.
She didn't even pull away when their kiss broke, merely pressing her forehead to his while they each caught their breath. Despite the boldness she'd just displayed, she somehow couldn't maintain eye contact and ended up looking elsewhere while all he could do was stare at her in a daze.
"S-sor—" She paused, remembering again that he told her not to apologize. "I-I mean, I'm... not sorry? I—ah—remembered you saying that music is simpler than words, so I just—I thought that maybe I shouldn't ask you with words and just... play it instead?" Luka could feel the heat radiating from her blush as she hurriedly added, "Um... is that okay?"
He answered her with another kiss.

Reader’s outfit can be found here. Check out the NSFW ABCs.  Summary: Javier and Reader enjoy a night out with Connie and Steve.
Tumblr media
“Babe,” You started, using your tongue to catch the straw, taking a sip before you sat it down on the table. “What’s your favorite color?”
Javier’s brows drew together as he leaned over to give Sofía a handful of broken up animal crackers. He pursed his lips, “It depends.”
“Helpful.” You rolled your eyes, brushing your fingers through your hair as you rested your elbows on the table. “Maybe I want to buy something special…”
“Oh?” He smirked across the table at you. “Red.”
“That’s your favorite color?”
He shrugged, “You’ve got that one flannel shirt you wear.” Javier adjusted the straw in Sofía’s apple juice box, glancing back at you. “It’s red and it looks good on you.”
“I didn’t know you liked that.” You grinned a little, chewing on your bottom lip. “I don’t know if they have lumberjack chic, but I’ll check. Just for you.” You nudge his foot under the table. “You good to watch the girls for a couple minutes?”
He nodded, “Yeah, baby.”
Josie was dipping her chicken nuggets in her Szechuan Sauce, occupied with the cassette tape she was listening to. You could take her almost anywhere, so long as she had something to listen to.
Javier was already working on you about the Gameboy Color that was supposedly coming out around his birthday. He’d passed his Gameboy down to Josie — but she wasn't nearly as enthralled with it as he’d hoped. She liked her cassette tapes.
You finished your drink, rising to your feet and moving around the table to drape your arms over Javier’s shoulders, resting against his back. “Try not to pick up any women.”
Javier snorted, turning his head to kiss your cheek. “I’m only looking to pick you up, baby.”
You grinned at him as you brushed your fingers through his hair, “You know what the hot dad look does.”
“To you.”
“Nice save.” You laughed, pressing a quick kiss to his lips before you pulled away.
“Will I be getting a show tonight?” He questioned, turning around as you took a few steps backwards.
“Maybe.” With a wink, you turned away from him and headed through the mall towards the lingerie store where you’d already bought a decent collection of intimates.
You were looking forward to tonight. With the busyness of summer, vacations, work, and balancing everything neither of you had had much of a chance to have an evening out with the Murphys.
Connie had been dying for a night out for the past couple weeks and everything finally aligned. Monica and Nadia had agreed to watch all four girls.
“Welcome! Can I help you find anything in particular?” The shopgirl questioned as you strolled into the store. “We have a sale on our V-String Panties.”
You snapped your fingers and laughed, “You know… I’m not into feeling like my underwear is riding up my ass all day. But I appreciate the aesthetic.”
She laughed brightly, “Well what are you looking for? Are you shopping for yourself or a special someone?”
“Well, I’m looking for my own personal comfort… But yes, I am shopping for something to entertain him.” You folded your arms across your chest, glancing around the store. “We’ve had success with everything else I’ve bought here.”
“Always happy to have a returning customer,” She offered with a smile. “If thongs aren’t your style, we have a very nice collection of lacey intimates in different cuts. Boyshort, hipster, and so forth.”
“Oh!” You hummed thoughtfully, “I suppose a boyshort cut would be nice. I’m planning on wearing this black dress of mine. It has a cute cherry print, spaghetti straps, and it lands about here.” You explained, gesturing to your mid-thigh.
“I have mad respect for you.” She told you as she guided you further into the store, towards a display of lacey underwear. “What about these?” She pointed to a pair of blue pair of lace underwear on the mannequin.
“Does it come in red?”
She bent down, pulling out the drawer beneath the display, “Here you are.”
“Thanks,” You ruffled through the drawer until you found a pair in your size. You could definitely see Javier enjoying these. Though, truth-be-told, he was easy to please.
“Now, if you’re wearing spaghetti straps, you’re going to need something strapless.” She tapped her finger against her chin, looking around the store thoughtfully. “Oh! I know. Come with me.”
You followed after the shopgirl, moving further towards the back of the store where there was a collection of bustiers on display. You made a mental note to return to purchase a few of the others on display — particularly a black lace up bustier that wouldn’t cover much. It had ribbons that were neatly placed directly over the breasts and not much else.
“I think this should go with the panties.” The girl said, holding up a cherry-red strapless bustier. “What do you think?”
“I’m in love.” You smiled, taking the bustier from her and holding it up in front of you. It was tasteful, entirely covered cups that would actually offer a little support, and the lace descended about mid-rib. “I’ll take both.”
“Great! I’ll ring you up.” She smiled.
You had a feeling that Javier was going to really enjoy the purchase.
——
“What is your secret?” Connie questioned, holding the little straw in her drink in place as she took a sip of her fruity cocktail.
You cocked your head to the side, “Which one?”
“How do you pull off this look?” She questioned, sweeping her hand over the length of your body. “Whenever I’ve attempted the mini dress look, I end up looking like a woman in her thirties who still thinks she’s a teen.”
“I just don’t give a fuck.” You admitted with a shrug. “You know how I dress at home. Sweatpants or shorts, paired with whatever tank top is clean. At work I’m rocking a power suit.” You picked up your rum runner, taking a drink. “So when we get out — I like showing a little skin.”
Your eyes wandered towards the back of the bar, where Javier and Steve were playing pool. They needed a little guy time.
“Javier likes it, doesn’t he?” Connie questioned, curling a lock of blond hair as she leaned her elbow against the table.
“Yeah,” You rolled your eyes. “But he also likes me in sweatpants.” You smoothed your hand over the skirt of your dress. “You should wear whatever you want to wear, Connie.”
“I do!” She assured you, gesturing to her own outfit. Connie rocked the mom jeans. “It’s just… Steve and I hit another dry spell and it’s driving me crazy.”
You frowned, “Shit. What happened?”
“I don’t know.” She admitted, taking another drink, before sitting it down. “And it’s not everything… we just haven’t had sex. At all. All summer.”
“Okay, but if it’s not everything…”
“It’s all the build up.” Connie explained. “That’s fine, that’s good. He’ll go down on me, but then seem like he’s not interested in actually having sex.”
You frowned, “Have you talked to him?”
“You know how he is. He’s as bad as Javier.” Connie chewed on her bottom lip. “Steve assured me that nothing’s wrong, he’s just not really in the mood.”
“Well, if he told you he isn’t in the mood that’s probably the case.” You told her, circling your thumb around the rim of your glass.
“My mother got me paranoid that there’s someone else.”
“Well, your mother should shut the fuck up.” You said bluntly. “If there’s one thing I know about Murphy, it’s that he’d bend heaven and hell to keep you in his life.”
“I just thought… maybe if I dressed more like you do.” She gestured to your outfit again. “Javier can’t keep his eyes or hands off of you.”
“We both have very different relationships.” You sat up a little straighter. Well, now you knew why Connie had been dying for a night out. She was always more comfortable having these discussions after a couple drinks.
“I know. But I want what you have. I want that passion.” Connie sighed heavily. “I just don’t understand it. Everything is so good and then he just shuts down.”
“Okay.” You pressed your tongue to the inside of your cheek. “What happens after things die down? He gets you off and then what?”
“He usually says something about not really being in the mood. He’ll kiss me for a little while longer and then we’ll go to bed or get up for the day.” She frowned, “I wish I hadn’t told my mom. She’s had me stressing about this since June.”
“Have you tried making an evening of it?” You questioned, your brows drawn together. “He might be genuinely stressed with everything that’s been changing in your lives. He quit the DEA after like fifteen years.”
“We’ve been so busy this summer.”
“Then that is your problem.” You took another sip of your drink. “You’ve both been busy. I mean, at least he’s been trying to meet your needs.” You pointed out. “Props to Murph.”
Connie dragged her fingers through her hair, laughing nervously. “And what if that’s not the problem?”
“Then you talk to him.” You told her, “And maybe go see Nancy. She helped Javier and I get over our own dry spell.”
“Go buy some sexy lingerie.” You told her, glancing around to make sure no one was watching the two of you. You flipped up the skirt of your dress, showing off your red lace covered hip.
“Oh my God!” Connie covered her mouth and laughed. “That’s gorgeous!”
You smirked at her, “I bet you Steve would lose his shit if you undressed and had on some sexy lingerie.”
“I definitely don’t have anything like that in my dresser.”
“But really, you should also talk to him.” You insisted, glancing back at where the guys were. They appeared to be having a similarly serious conversation. “I’m sure he’s got his own concerns.”
“I would love to prove my mother wrong.” Connie laughed quietly, shaking her head. “She’s never really liked Steve.”
“Didn’t she stay with you guys this summer? I wouldn’t be in the mood if my in-laws didn’t like me.”
Connie grimaced, “God, I’m glad I have you to talk me off the ledge.”
“You can always call me, Connie. Or meet up for coffee. You don’t have to drink to talk sex with me.” You shrugged a shoulder, taking another sip of your drink. “Why don’t we go check on the guys?”
“Okay.” Connie finished off her drink, pausing for a second, before she slid out of the booth and followed you towards the back of the bar.
“Having fun?” You questioned, taking a drink of your rum runner before sitting it on the ledge of the pool table, putting a little sway in your step as you approached Javier.
Javier slid his arm around your waist, pulling you into his side, “Steve’s still shit at pool.”
“Of course he is.” You snorted, shaking your head as you set your eyes on Steve. You watched him and Connie carefully, analyzing the way they interacted with each other. Same as they always had. You leaned up to whisper in Javi’s ear, “Please tell me Steve was asking you for advice too.”
His shoulders sagged with relief, “Yes. Connie too?”
You nodded, “I figured tonight was a motivated evening.”
Javier chuckled, “They’ll be fine.” He ran his hand over the small of your back, before his hand moved lower and he slipped it under the hem of your skirt, giving your ass a squeeze.
“Javi.” You laughed, pressing your face against his chest, snaking your arm around his waist. “Behave.”
“It’s been driving me crazy wondering what you have on under this.”
You smirked, “I think you’ll enjoy it.” You pulled away from him then, gesturing to the pool table. “Let’s get another round of drinks and play a game.”
Connie made a face, “I’m bad at this game sober.”
“That’s why it’s fun.”
“I’ll get the drinks.” Javier said, pressing a kiss to the back of your head before he headed for the bar.
You grabbed two cue sticks from the stand, passing one to Connie. “Good news.” You told her, “I think things are going to be just fine.”
“Really?” She smiled brightly.
“What are you ladies talking about?” Steve questioned, wrapping his arm around Connie as he swung the rack in his other hand.
“How badly team Peña is going to kick your ass.” You grinned triumphantly, taking the rack from him and moving back to the table to set up the balls.
“Team Peña? Did ya’ll get married and forget to tell us?” Steve teased.
“And we had a secret son and named him Stephen Murphy. I’m sorry you had to find out this way.” You deadpanned.
Javier returned with the drinks, “What did I just walk in on?” He questioned, passing you your drink.
“I was telling Steve about our secret son.”
“Oh, right.” Javier took a sip of his whiskey. “Stephen Murphy.”
Steve looked between the two of you, “How do you do that?”
“Do what?” Javier questioned.
“Just know what the other was doing?”
You shrugged, tilting your head to look at Javier. “I chalk it up to eleven years of healthy banter. We’re on the same wavelength.” You bumped your hip against his, before you took a sip.
“Let me guess,” Javier scratched at the back of his neck. “Some shit about our secret marriage?”
Connie laughed, “Oh. My. God.”
You grinned, “Yep!”
“Figured.” He sat his glass down on the pool table, moving to grab his discarded cue stick. “We playing?”
“Yeah. Yeah.” Steve answered, exchanging a look with Connie.
You and Javier absolutely killed the Murphy’s at pool. Three rounds in and you were still the victors. Nailing pocket after pocket with ease.
“I’m starting to think you’re cheating.” Steve remarked, looking between the two of you.
“You can’t cheat at pool, bud.” You quipped, blowing off the extra blue chalk on the tip of Javier’s cue stick. “At least not easily.”
Javier’s hand found its way under the hem of your dress again, giving your ass a playful squeeze. He was making it increasingly difficult to focus on the game. Not that you weren’t intentionally bending over to show off the hint of lace that laid beneath your skirt.
You shot him a look, only to be met with a suggestive raise of his brows.
“Why don’t you buy us another round of drinks.” You suggested, “You know… losers buy drinks.”
Steve narrowed his eyes, “Are you fucking kidding me?”
Javier grinned, curling his arm around your waist. “Come on, Murphy. Don’t act surprised.”
“I’m not. That’s the sad part.” He turned towards Connie, “You want another drink, sweetheart?”
“I’d like that.” She smiled hopefully, “And… maybe we could dance.”
Steve nodded slowly, “That sounds nice.”
“Come on,” You said, taking Javier’s hand into yours. “They need some alone time, anyway.”
“Yeah, they’ve got some shit to work out.” Javier agreed, following after you through the crowd, back to the hallway that led to the bathroom.
One of the bathrooms was occupied, but upon trying the second door knob you found it unlocked and empty.
“I had this whole plan of showing off the lingerie when we got home.” You told him, watching as he locked the door behind him. “I guess I should’ve known we wouldn’t be able to control ourselves.”
Javier arched a brow at you, “What did you think was gonna happen, baby? You wear this dress and spend all night bending over…” He crowded close to you, his hands sliding up your outer thighs, until he curled his hands around your hips. “Your ass looks divine.”
“You think my ass looks divine in sweatpants.” You poked him in the chest, before you slid your hand up to curl around the back of his neck.
“Maybe I just like your ass,” Javier’s hand slid around, giving your asscheek a squeeze before he swiftly smacked it. You were just this side of tipsy and entirely unable to control the yelp that escaped you.
“It’s a pretty good ass.” You laughed, playing with the hair at the nape of his neck. “Wanna know a secret?”
“Hmm?”
You lowered your voice, leaning in close to him. “I like your ass too.”
He rolled his eyes, “Oh, fuck off.’
You laughed, sliding both of your arms over his shoulders as you pressed close to him. “It’s the truth.” You grinned, leaning up to kiss him.
Javier’s tongue invaded your mouth, sliding over your tongue, before sweeping over the roof of your mouth. You chased after his lips as he drew back, his gaze dark with desire as he met yours. “Turn around, baby.”
You didn’t even hesitate, turning around to face your reflection in the mirror. You glanced over your shoulder, watching as Javier worked the zipped down your spine, revealing bare skin and the cherry-red bustier that stood out against your skin.
“Look at you.” Javier drawled out, peeling the thin fabric of your dress down your torso. He held your gaze in the mirror as you leaned back against his chest. “Fuck.”
“I thought you’d like it.” You remarked, tilting your head back to kiss his jaw. Javier was transfixed on your reflection and you watched the way his hand trailed over your ribs, tracing the lacey lines of the fabric that was wrapped around you.
“I fucking love it.” He told you, his hands sliding downwards, pushing your dress down your hips to reveal the red lace covering your there. “You were gonna make me wait until we got back home to show me this, baby?”
You nodded, reaching behind you to curl your fingers around the back of his head, playing with his hair. “Had to make you work for it.” You pointedly ground your ass back against him, smirking as you felt his stiffened cock. “Baby, did you bring your cue stick in here?”
Javier chuckled, the sound turning into a soft growl as he pressed his mouth into the crook of your neck. “So fucking mouthy. I should put that mouth to use.” He drawled out, cupping your jaw as he held your gaze in the mirror. He ran his thumb over your bottom lip, watching as your tongue darted out to tease it.
“You could…” You arched a brow at him. “But I think you want more than that.” You rocked back against him, “Don’t you, Javi?”
Javier’s lips found your ear, his breath hot against your skin as he kissed you there, before dragging his mouth back down your neck. “You’re right, baby. You can’t wear this shit and not expect me to want to fuck you.”
You inhaled sharply as he roughly grabbed at your hips, holding you steady as he took a step backwards. You watched him in the mirror as his eyes raked over you. “Like something you see?” You teased, swaying your hips from side-to-side.
He hooked his fingers in the waistband of the lace, dragging them down your hips. “I like everything I see.” Javier told you, crowding close to you again. He worked his hand in between you and the bathroom sink, his fingers slipping between your thighs.
You bit down on your bottom lip, rocking back against his covered cock as his fingers cupped your cunt. “Feel that?”
“Fuck. Baby, you’re soaking wet.” He said as he dragged his finger between your slick folds. “Goddamn it.”
“Well someone kept eyefucking me during pool. I’m sorry.” You shot back with a wicked smirk as you met his gaze in the mirror. “What’s a girl to do?”
Javier abandoned his teasing, his hands moving to unzip his jeans, shoving them and his boxers down his hips. “Indeed.”
You let him maneuver you into position, arching your back as you widened your stance, knuckles going white as you clenched at the edge of the sink for support. There was very little foreplay in these scenarios. And you loved it.
The haste, the need, the desperation.
You cried out — thankful that the bar was noisy and crowded and no one would care if someone was getting fucked in the bathroom. His cock filled you completely, buried within you from root to tip.
“Watch yourself, baby.” He told you, rocking his hips forward roughly, urging you to open your eyes and watch as he fucked you. “Wish you could see just how good you look on my cock.” He told you, fingers winding into your hair as he held fast to you and fucked you.
You moaned, grabbing onto the faucet as you lurched forward. “Javier.” You hissed out through clenched teeth as he kept repeatedly driving into that sweet spot within you. His cock hitting the deepest spots that had you seeing stars.
Javier’s fingers curled loosely around your throat, pulling you back against his chest so you only had his arm to cling to for support as he rocked into you, burying the full length of his cock into you with every thrust. You were lost to the pleasure of it all.
Even the way your nipples pebbled beneath the lace, the way his arm kept rubbing over them as he kept his hand securely wrapped around your throat. It was all overwhelming.
“Want you to come for me.” Javier urged, his lips close to your ear as he spoke. “I want you to come for me, baby. Come on my cock.”
Your body clenched in response to his words, your cunt tightening like a vice around his cock as he kept slamming into you. You were right on the cusp, teetering right on the edge. You could feel it throbbing deep within you, your release ready to wash through you.
“That’s it, baby.” Javier rasped out, “Want you to come for me so I can fill that pretty little pussy of yours.” He reached downwards, his fingers seeking out that little bundle of nerves just above where his cock was driving into you. “Love knowing I’m dripping out of you.”
Your orgasm hit you like a tidal wave. You cried out, the sound muffled by his hand as he wrapped it around your mouth. Your body clenched around him, but still he didn’t stop thrusting into you until he found his own release. Your cunt milked it from him, inner walls pulsing around his cock as he spilled into you.
And only then did he slow down his pace, hips rolling languidly as he guided you both through the afterglow of your releases. Your legs shook from exhaustion as Javier pulled out of you, quick to pull the lacey red underwear back up your thighs. Putting them back into place.
“Holy shit.” You panted out, hand to your chest as you felt your thundering heartbeat beneath your palm. “Why is bathroom sex… so good?”
“Wish I knew.” He chuckled lowly as he tucked his cock back into his boxers and zipping his jeans closed once more. It was unfair how easily he could look composed and you felt like you looked thoroughly fucked. Mostly because you had been. Your inner walls were still fluttering in response to just how thoroughly he’d fucked you.
Javier arched a brow at your reflection, “You good, baby?”
You nodded your head slowly, “A little out of breath.” You admitted, pulling your dress back up your body. “Do you mind?”
He stepped towards you, pulling your zipper up your back as he pressed a kiss to the back of your neck. “I like the lingerie.” He remarked, resting his hands at your hips as he propped his chin up on your shoulder — meeting your gaze in the mirror.
You bit down on your bottom lip, laughing softly as you sank back against him with a sigh. “I’m glad.” You reached behind you, stroking his cheek lovingly. “I love you.”
He grinned at you as he curled an arm around your waist, keeping you pressed close to him. “I love you too.” Javier pressed his lips to your cheek. “We should get back out there.”
“Like they don’t know where we went.” You snorted, turning around in his embrace so you could lean up to kiss him. “Is everything okay with Steve?”
Javier rolled his eyes, “I love our pillow talk.” He deadpanned, giving your hip a squeeze. “Yeah, he’s good. He’s just working through some shit.”
“Well, Connie’s mother thinks he’s cheating on her.”
He narrowed his eyes, “Connie’s mother is part of the problem.”
“I told her to talk to him.”
“Good.” Javier shrugged his shoulders. “I told him the same shit. I reamed him out for letting it go on as long as he has.”
“They’ll be okay though, right?”
“If they talk. Yeah.” He nodded. “Never thought we’d be the ones giving relationship advice.”
“Oh how the tables have turned.” You laughed, checking your reflection in the mirror before you moved towards the bathroom door. “Personally, I think Connie’s jealous that they don’t have this—” You gestured in between the two of them. “But they’re both very…”
“Vanilla?”
“Yeah.”
“You’ll be proud.” Javier told you, slipping his hand into yours. “I told him they should experiment.” Your brows shot upwards. “Don’t get too excited. I just told him they should mix it up.”
You grinned at him, “Well that’s something. I told Connie to buy some sexy clothes.”
“Hopefully they work things out,” He squeezed your hand tightly as you headed back out into the main area of the bar.
You scanned the crowd, spotting Connie and Steve slow dancing to some sappy song with the rest of the couples on the dance floor. They seemed to be having a good time. And as much fun as it was to hangout with them — they needed alone time.
“I’m gonna go close out the tab,” You told Javier as you turned towards him.
“Yeah.” Javier nodded, releasing his hold on your hand and running his fingers down your spine. “Works for me, baby. I’ll be at the table.”
You headed over to the bar, flagging down the bartender to close out your tab.
“Here you go.” The bartender said as he sat a drink down in front of you.
“I’m actually closing out my tab.” You explained.
“I know,” He shrugged, passing you your receipt.
“Okay.” Your brows furrowed, following the bartender’s line of sight as a younger man approached you, settling at the bar beside you.
Of course.
“Hey there pretty thing,” The man leered, his eyes raking over your body, before meeting your eyes with a toothy grin. “Saw you playing pool over there,” He leaned a little too close to you on the bar, but you didn’t flinch.
You weren’t about to give him the satisfaction of unnerving you. “Yeah?” You raised your brows with an unamused expression.
“Can’t help but thinking you could do better.” He continued, “Didn’t seem like he appreciated the way you blew on his cue stick.”
You snorted, “Wow.”
“Just speaking the truth,” The younger man remarked, eyes flickering over you again. “I bet I could give you what you really need.”
“See,” You tossed your hair over your shoulder, “Everything you just said was wrong.” You popped the cherry from the drink into your mouth. “Cause I doubt your pencil dick could fuck me like my partner just did in the bathroom.”
He looked flummoxed by that.
You patted him on the shoulder, “Thanks for the drink. Make sure you get home before your curfew. Would hate for your mommy to worry.” And with that you headed towards Javier, sliding into the booth beside him.
“Free drink?”
You grinned at him, “It really pained me to turn down the offer of sexual favors that came with it.”
Javier curled his hand around your leg, “Really?”
“Didn’t seem right given what we just did.” You dragged your teeth over your bottom lip, keeping your eyes on his face.
Your breath caught in the back of your throat as you felt Javier’s hand curl around your inner thigh beneath your skirt. He slid his hand up higher, until his thumb dragged over your sensitive folds through the damp lace that was soaked with his come.
“We should go home.” You whispered, closing the distance so you could kiss him. “So I can give you the full show.” You added as you pulled back, meeting his gaze.
“I love the way you think, baby.” Javier grinned, brushing his nose against yours. “C’mon.”

“Come on Tom don’t be ridiculous!” You match his volume, “I had every right to be annoyed. We’d planned this thing for weeks!”
“I don’t know what you want me to say, (Y/n)!” He continues to defend, “I’ve had a busy schedule with everything going on and it just slipped my mind. I can’t change that.”
“I reminded you that morning!” You point out, “And it’s not like you were doing something you couldn’t get out of. Drinks with the boys? You can do that anytime!”
The derivative of this argument had stemmed from Tom missing an important evening you were supposed to be attending for your business. He knew you’d been terrified about it for weeks and you’d been prepping to meet all of these important business figures since you’d first been invited. You wanted him by your side. Instead, he’d supposedly forgotten and gone out with the boys for drinks instead. Sure, he had been busy recently. He’d been doing a bunch of press for Onward and had only recently finished up with Cherry, whilst also juggling a few new projects that seemed to be in the pipeline. But you’d asked for one night. And you didn’t expect that to be so hard for him.
In fact, the two of you had been arguing a lot recently. Ever since you’d moved into this flat together, you’d been at it like an old married couple. You hadn’t done the dishes? Argument. He’d forgotten to get the groceries you’d asked for? Argument. You came back late from work and hardly saw him? Argument. Day after day, the blissful couple managed to sink further and further into the stage they never wanted to get to.
“Really? Because on top of work, and travelling and everything, I hardly get to see them anymore,” He comments, running a hand through his hair, “I just thought I’d have one night to enjoy myself.”
“I wanted you to be there Tom,” You sigh, “I was terrified. Do you know how humiliating it is to be talking to investors and have them question why the seat beside me was empty at dinner?”
He swallows and you watch as his Adam’s Apple bobs prominently, “It wouldn’t have made a difference to their opinion of you if I was there or not.”
You scoff, “Right, Tom,” You fold your arms like you’re closing him off from you, “But it would’ve made a difference to me. I wanted my boyfriend to be there to support me. But I guess not.”
That silences him. All of his arguments to defend himself seem to fall flat.
“You have to be at the studio for interviews in an hour, you should probably leave now,” You comment coldly, hardly glancing up from the floorboards as you speak, “I’ll see you later.”
He doesn’t have it in him to find the right words to respond with. Instead, he watches you walk into the room that you shared in this apartment before he finally drops his hope and packs up his things to leave. As he left, all he could think about was how much he’d held you in that room. How many times had the two of you shared a bed? Without him falling asleep on the sofa, or in a hotel halfway across the world. Without an argument meaning you turned your backs to each other after a hasty good night. All he could think of was wrapping his arms around you tightly and promising you that you’d wake up with them still tight around your torso. He’d give you a morning kiss and ask to stay with you like that forever, until life dragged you to your separate callings.
- - - - - -
He’s already been asked if he’s okay four times since he got here - all by different people. They all said that he didn’t seem like himself but he’d dismissed it as fatigue quickly. Chris seemed the most concerned as they both got their microphones connected for the interviews.
“You good, buddy?” Chris frowns, watching Tom like he was a brother to him whilst Tom blanks out.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Tom nods encouragingly, trying to force himself back to normal.
“You know we don’t have to go ahead if you’re not comfortable,” Chris points out, “I’ll do them alone if you-“
“Honestly man, I’m good, let’s go,” Tom shakes it off, heading out through to the first interview of the day.
These days were always pretty long - interview after interview that always seemed to hold similar questions or set ups. But you always managed to brighten them. You’d send him a text to check he’d got there okay, or you’d sent him a voice note to update him on your day so far. Especially recently as the two of you had moved into your apartment. His phone would normally be buzzing a thousand times as you sent him different photos of cute furniture that you’d managed to find. Today, he hadn’t heard anything.
He knew he was in the wrong about this whole situation with you. You were completely right to want him to be there with you. You’d always done the same for him - press events, charity nights, premieres. You’d been by his side for all of his major moments. And he’d managed to slip up on the one night where it mattered. He knew that this would matter more to you than if he’d missed your birthday, an anniversary, even a meal with your family. Your career? That was always a big thing for you, and so was having Tom there to support. So yeah, he’d fucked up. And he’d made things worse by being too proud to admit it.
“And what about you Tom?” The interviewer continues, focusing his attention on the boy that was hardly in the room.
“Oh, I’m sorry, could you repeat the question?”
- - - - - -
“Man, what’s with you today?” Chris frowns, “I don’t wanna be rude but you’re really not with it today.”
Tom sighs and rubs a hand over his face, “Just been a bit of a long day.”
“Well, we’ve got three left,” Chris encourages, “I’ll be my wonderful self and you can sit back and look pretty.”
Tom tries to laugh but it falls flat against the weight on his chest. He wanted to be home. He wanted to find a thousand ways of making this up to you so he could tell you once and for all that he would change and that he was wrong. Every passing moment increased his fears that, this time, he’d be too late.
“Alright so, a lot of fans sent in questions for this interview,” The woman explains, Tom hadn’t been alert enough to catch her name, “Chris, what was your favourite thing about working on this film?”
Chris chats away naturally going through his answer, making some sort of joke that Tom forces a laugh at.
“And Tom, a lot of questions came in for you,” The interviewer smiles, “How have things been for you and (Y/n) now that you guys have moved in together?”
His eyes fall at the mention of your name, trying his best to muster any composure he can find before he looks back up, “Um,” He stops.
It felt like everyone’s eyes were on him. The useless boyfriend acting as though everything had to be fine.
“Things are going great, thank you,” He tries to readjust in his chair and smile, “We’re settling in well.”
“And she’s been very busy with her business recently,” The interviewer persists relentlessly, “You guys must be so busy! How has that worked?”
Tom feels himself fight against the quivering of his bottom lip, “I’m sorry, excuse me.”
“Tom?” Chris speaks up, frowning at the sudden change in demeanour.
“I have to go,” Tom stumbles quickly, “I’m so sorry.”
The interviewer seems practically dumbfounded.
“I’m sorry, excuse me,” Tom tries to de-tangle himself from the microphone and step through the maze of cameras and crew around them.
His assistant watches on in horror - this would be a hard one to explain!
But Tom would deal with all of that later. He gets himself out of the room with rapid breathing as he starts hurrying down the corridors to try and get out of the building. To get home to you.
- - - - - -
He’s practically trembling on the taxi journey all the way back to the flat - he’s convincing himself of every possible negative outcome and telling himself a million times that it’s too late to rectify what he’s done. The thought alone causes adrenaline to surge through him.
When the cab pulls up outside of your building, he rushes to the penthouse like there’s fire behind his feet. But as soon as he reaches the door? All of that comes crashing down. And there’s an odd solemn nature that falls over him that he can’t manage to shift.
There’s soft music playing from inside the flat and he’s cautious as he unlocks the door. It’s quiet and calm but he’s certain that the aftermath of a storm is always worse than the storm itself. You’re always awaiting the next.
Tom walks through the flat calmly until he reaches the spare room. The two of you had used it as a very jumbled place for storage since you’d moved in and never really got round to organising. Clearly today you’d set that task for yourself.
“Hey,” He begins softly and it instantly makes you jump.
You hadn’t heard him over the music.
“What are you doing home?” You frown, checking the time, “I thought it wasn’t supposed to be for at least another hour.”
“Yeah I know,” Tom scratches at the back of his neck, “I left early.”
You frown once again, “What happened? Was everything okay?” You pause the song and focus solely on him.
“Um, yeah, listen (Y/n)...” He pauses, glancing over at the photo album in your hands, “What are you doing?”
“Just looking through some old photos,” You tuck some stray hairs behind your ears and it pains you that it’s not his hand to make the movement, “I got a bit distracted from clearing out.”
“Can I join you?”
You shift around on the floor to make room for him beside you and, as he’d asked, he comes to sit cross legged on the carpet next to you.
“Oh my god!” Tom picks up a photo from the floor, “This was from Halloween, what like 3 years ago?”
“Yeah,” You smile, “The avengers idea!”
Your eyes glance over the group of you - you were Black Widow, Tom was Hawkeye, Tuwaine: the Hulk, Harrison: Captain America, Harry was Iron Man and Sam was Thor. You’d never been so proud of yourselves when the idea actually came off well.
“Why didn’t you go as Spider-Man?” You frown, looking at another photo of the night.
He laughs, “We said we’d go as the original group!”
The laughter settles as you move onto another one, the two of you on your first holiday together. Tom had taken you to Barcelona for your birthday and it had been the most under planned trips ever. The hotel ended up misbooking you so you had to find somewhere last minute, your flights got mixed up too and Tom forgot to book the restaurant that he’d been planning for your actual birthday evening. But it couldn’t have been more perfect. You spent the evenings hand in hand around the streets, you found quaint little corner shops and cafes that sufficed to make the entire weekend something you’d never forget.
“God, I really fucked up with that one!” Tom shakes his head, flicking through a few failed photos that an old couple had taken of you two.
“No, don’t be silly,” You defend, “It was beautiful.”
He smiles lightly and the two of you immerse yourself in more photos, organising them into the years of memories that you’d made together over your relationship. You slot the final photo into an album and set it into the box with the others - one for each year.
“(Y/n) I’m really sorry,” Tom begins, evidently returning back to his initial reasoning for coming home, “I didn’t mean to miss that event, and I know it was completely stupid of me to forget. I should’ve spoken to you and told you what I was doing. And if I’d have remembered, I would’ve been there with you.”
You look down at your hands in your lap.
“I know I can’t blame this on my forgetfulness or just act like this was a silly, forgettable mistake, because it wasn’t. Darling, you’ve always been there for me, every event, every premiere, everything- you’re always by my side. And, on one night where I should’ve been doing the same, I was ignorant and didn’t think of you as much as I should’ve done. As much as I should always do,” He sighs, the frown between his brows increasing, “You don’t deserve to be treated like that. God, if I’d have been there, I would’ve been proud beyond belief of you, of everything you’re achieving. You melt my heart with how unbelievably proud you make me and it kills me that I didn’t show you that when I should’ve done.”
You reach over and squeeze his hand, “Tom, we’ll keep going around in circles if we keep talking about this.”
His mouth parts and it’s like you see his heart sink, “What are you saying?”
“Dance with me,” You mumble, reaching over to play the music through the speakers once again.
It’s ‘Falling’ from Harry Styles’ album that starts playing and it seems awfully bittersweet for the moment. It doesn’t exactly fit but you don’t care.
You pull Toms hands and wrap your arms around him as he does the same to you. He’s uncertain at first but soon relaxes into your body being against him. He holds you close and lets your head hear the calming beat of his heart against his chest. You take in a shaky breath and feel like you’re holding him close enough to mold him back into you, into every part of your body and your mind.
“I love you,” Tom whispers against your hair, dipping his head down to bring the words as close to you as possible.
It feels like the first time in forever where he says those words and they really sink into your veins like they did when they’d first left his lips.
And, somehow, it brings you back to everything that had ever mattered. Something you’d managed to almost lose. Us.
“I don’t want to lose this.”

Kagome had everything ready to go when Inuyasha knocked on her door, Hoshiki in her arms and his bags on the floor. She had probably overdone it a little with her preparations. She knew, of course, that Inuyasha had a lot of things at his place, and she certainly didn’t want to upset him by implying he wouldn’t be able to take care of the kid properly. On the other hand, well, she was letting her son go for the night. She had only left him with her own mother before, and this felt… very much like a separation.
“Hi!” she greeted Inuyasha happily nonetheless. “You didn’t have any trouble finding the place?”
Inuyasha took a hesitant step in as Kagome walked back, glancing around carefully. The place was really small, probably smaller than his own, but unlike his, it was filled with stuff. Whether it was the food spilling out on the shelves in her minuscule kitchen, the plants near the window, or the bright carpet on the ground, the place felt… alive. Actually lived in.
“Do you want something to drink?” Kagome offered, and his eyes found her again.
She seemed to fit in here perfectly, and he couldn’t help but feel that he definitely didn’t. Not in here, not in her world, not in her life.
“Sure,” he said, awkwardly walking in after oscillating for a while on her door step. “Just some water’d be nice.”
His instincts were screaming at him to get out of here already but, well, he had to be civil, didn’t he? He couldn’t just run away from any interactions with her on what he perceived as her territory.
She complied quickly, handing him a glass of water, while Hoshiki, safely balanced on her hip, watched his father intensely. He wasn’t the most vocal kid, except perhaps when he was hungry, but you could see in his lovely, golden eyes just how much was going on inside his mind.
“Hey kiddo,” Inuyasha grinned, reaching out to rub his hair, careful not to bend his ears too much, “you ready?”
Kagome chuckled lightly as Hoshiki made an attempt to lift his head to meet his father’s hand. God they were cute. She didn’t know precisely what it was, though she could guess that Hoshiki recognized his smell one way or another, but the fact that he trusted the man made her feel safer. Sometimes, briefly, she wondered if it was a good thing, to let him into their life when she knew so little of him. And then she saw the look in her son’s eyes, she looked at them together, with their golden eyes, their white hair, their dog-ears, and she decided that yes, it was. Something that brought her child that much joy could only be good.
“Are ya moving or something?” Inuyasha asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked at her floor.
Ah. Shit.
“No, I— I might have over prepared a little bit.”
“Can see that.” He didn’t look too happy about it, and she felt a painful stab of guilt through her chest. She’d feared that exact reaction. “I have a lot of that stuff already, though. I prepared, too.”
He sounded dejected, and Kagome really wished she could have done something to stop her very stressed self from just a couple of hours ago. She noticed the same behavior she saw in her son, particularly the ears flattening against his head, and it was a completely instinctive reaction for her to rest her hand on his arm. He blinked at her, and though she felt weird about it, she guessed she should be happy she hadn’t purely and simply hugged him.
Were they in a situation where they could hug? Or even touch, for that matter? They did have a child together but… Ah, this was way too strange.
She removed her hand hesitantly.
“The only person I’ve ever let him with is my mom,” she explained honestly, “and even then, I was never away from him for more than a couple of hours. So I… worried.”
Inuyasha swallowed. He could understand that, technically, but he also couldn’t help the suspicion building up in him. Kagome was, well, frankly, more than he would ever even dare to hope could exist in a human, in terms of kindness and compassion. She was a dream come true.
She was way too good to be true.
He looked for a flaw, for a point where he would see the real her, who couldn’t possibly be that nice to everyone, because no one was, ever, shine through.
It wasn’t fair, though. He couldn’t hold her to those standards. It was tempting, because parts of him worried that living with a human parent, who couldn’t fully understand the struggle of being half, could really raise a child who’d suffer from it his entire life, but he shouldn’t do it.
“Ya really think I’d have a kid at my place if I didn’t have diapers there?” he asked, voice strained, but still trying to bring some humor to the situation. He didn’t really want her to notice his reaction, either. Well, clearly she already had, but she didn’t need to know how it made him feel exactly.
Civil. He just had to be civil with her. He shouldn’t be disappointed in her for something so dumb. All that should matter to him was that she took care of Hoshiki, and that she obviously did. Anything else was none of his business.
“Of course not! And I’ve been to your place, I know you have those, I just…” she looked at Hoshiki, pouting a little. “It’s gonna be weird without him around.”
“’s just for the night,” Inuyasha vaguely tried to comfort her. “It’ll be over before you know it.”
“I know you’re right, it’s just… It’s still going to be weird.”
There was a moment of awkward silence, before Kagome managed to swallow the sobs that were suddenly building up. She was saying goodbye to her son for the night, not leaving him forever, for God’s sake! She really needed to get a grip.
“Erm, so there are the diapers, and there’s a bag of clothes, and another one for food, and his portable crib, which, yeah, I know you have one, and a first-aid kit, just in case, and…”
“Kagome,” he interrupted her. “We’ll be fine. I swear.”
“I know, I know, I’m sorry! I promise I won’t be like that next time.”
Inuyasha chose to ignore the way his heart fluttered when she said ‘next time’. He’d thought this was some sort of trial, but the fact that her mind seemed to be already made up was surprisingly nice.
“You’re doing great, you know?”
He looked at her, searching for any indication that she was joking, that she was making fun of him, that she was preparing to yell “Gotcha!” to his face.
There was none.
“Really—”
“No, Inuyasha, I mean it. I know you have books on parenting at your place, and I know you have a crib and diapers and I’m sure you have everything you need too. I’m freaking out a little but— You’re doing a great job.”
He let out a long breath. He hadn’t realized he wanted her approbation so badly. But here she was, letting him inside her kitchen, entrusting him with Hoshiki, smiling at him like he was actually a person, not worried about what he might do to her, just because half-demons were supposedly mindless beasts.
“Thanks.” He cleared his throat. “Guess I’ll just—”
“Yes, of course! Here, take him.”
She watched with fascination how careful and gentle he was, as always, when she handed him Hoshiki. It wasn’t something you would have expected from him, really. Whether it was his looks, the way he talked, the way he moved, everything about him was rough, rugged. Weathered and toughened by time, no doubt, and yet he was capable of such kindness, such softness, and Kagome felt something inside her melting.
“Ya won’t mind if I don’t take all of this, right?” he asked her, gesturing to the numerous bags on the ground, oblivious to what she was thinking about.
“God, yes,” she sighed, laughing awkwardly. “Just take the food and the first-aid kit, maybe? I’m sure you’ll be fine without the rest.”
“Yeah.”
He seemed to hesitate, and she noticed his eyes were on the bag of clothes. It only took her a second to know where his mind was going.
“Next time, for the rest, maybe,” she said gently.
He looked up at her and cleared his throat, glancing away almost immediately after meeting her eyes, embarrassed for getting caught. “Yeah. Yeah, I’ll do that. C’mon now, buddy,” he said, leaning forward so Hoshiki would be closer to her, “say goodbye to your mom.”
Hoshiki didn’t need to be told twice, and Kagome laughed when his little arms came in contact with her face. She lovingly dropped several kisses on the top of his head, making him giggle. Oh, she missed him terribly already. It would be so weird to actually be without him. She wasn’t sure she liked the thought all that much.
Scratch that, she was certain she hated the thought and she wanted to keep her kid by her side forever. Or, well, until he was three, at least.
“You’re gonna have to let go of him, y’know? Otherwise we’ll just stay here.”
She sighed. She knew that, dammit. She pressed one last kiss on Hoshiki’s forehead, and then, because he was there, because he was so close, because it just felt right, because it was natural, she kissed Inuyasha’s cheek, softly.
She watched the way his features transformed, going from mocking amusement to utter confusion. She watched as he started to frown, almost feared that he would lash out, and then as his face softened, in a way that almost took her breath away. She’d seen him look at Hoshiki, but seeing him looking at her like this made her simply freeze in place.
He opened his mouth. He wanted to say something. He needed to say something. The tenderness, the kindness of the gesture, and perhaps just a little the feeling of her lips on his skin and the sudden closeness of her smell had pierced right through him, and he felt like he had to comment on that.
But what would he say? Sorry I ran?
Keh. A little late for that. His own actions had cost him a year in the life of his son, and he could only imagine that it hadn’t been a walk in the park for her either. He had to deal with that.
The moment disappeared, and Kagome buried her hands in her pocket, looking at the floor awkwardly.
“Thanks for leaving him with me,” Inuyasha said, his throat still a little tight.
“Sure! Sure. You two have fun, okay?”
“’m sure we will. Bye, Kagome.”
“Bye.”
She waved at them energetically while they walked down the hallway, Hoshiki looking at her with curious eyes, and a long sigh escaped her the second they disappeared. For a second, in there… They’d felt like a family. And it was stupid of her to think of anything like that, since Inuyasha and her had been brought together only by circumstances, but… But she kind of wanted that.
Well, hope couldn’t hurt, right?

My Forever ~ Colton Parayko
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Colton go on a summer vacation to a mountain resort, complete with one perfect night.
Author’s Note: This is a roller coaster of very sappy and cute then dirty and then stupidly sappy and cute again. I’ve also never really written anything smutty before so be prepared for it to not be fantastic (maybe I’ll work on improving that if it’s well-received?)
Word Count: ~5,200
Warnings: language, smut (poorly written, don’t get too excited), very brief mentions of alcohol.
Pushing the sliding glass door open you step through it and onto the patio, clutching a mug of coffee in your opposite hand. The morning mountain air was slightly damp, the remnants of rainfall from the night clinging to the surfaces outside of the comfort of the small covered patio. Walking to the wooden railing you set your mug down on it, leaning against it and gazing out at the tree-covered mountains, delicate white clouds hanging near the tops of the trees. The sound of the screen door connecting the patio to the hotel room opening draws your attention and you turn your head to look back over your shoulder. “Good morning,” you say, voice slightly hushed. Everything felt slower up here, quieter, calmer. The mountain resort did get more lively when the sun was higher in the sky or when it had set completely, but even then there was a sense of ease about being up here.
“Wow,” Colton says quietly, taking a couple steps across the patio to stand behind you, his hands landing on either side of the railing, encircling you in warmth.
“It really is nice, isn’t it?”
You feel Colton press a kiss to the top of your head, one of his hands moving across the top of the patio railing towards yours, gently lifting your fingers off of it and sliding your hand into his. “I was talking about you,” he whispers. “How did I get so lucky finding someone so perfect?”
Three years. It had been three years since you and Colton had started dating. But each time he made little comments like that your heart raced like it was the first time he was complimenting you all over again.
Folding your fingers tighter into his hand you pull his arm around your body, pressing your lips to his hand and leaning closer into him. “I’m wondering that about you.”
“I love you,” Colton says, voice soft as he runs his thumb along the back of your hand.
“I love you too, Colt,” you whisper. Laughing you shift to the side enough to be able to look up at him. “We’re being so sappy. We’re going to be embarrassing parents.”
Colton’s eyes widen as he stares down at you. “Are...are you-?”
“No,”  you interject quickly. “No, I’m not pregnant.” You watch his expression change, seeming almost disappointed by that answer. You hadn’t even thought the comment through before making it. It wasn’t crossing any lines that hadn’t already been crossed. You had discussed the fact that you both wanted to have a family and Colton had made it clear that he wanted to start that family with you. A couple years into the relationship you had brought up the topic of children, knowing that things were getting more and more serious, and Colton had replied by telling you about how perfect your little family together would be. It had made you fall more in love with him then and every single time you thought about it since then. “Sorry, I didn’t realize it would sound like that,” you say gently, turning a little more to lean up and press a quick kiss to his lips.
Colton slides his arm to your waist, pulling you against his chest. “Don’t apologize. There’s a few more things I want to do before we start a family. But I would have been happy about it if you were.”
Resting your head against his chest you wrap your arms around him. There wasn’t a single person in the world that made you feel as safe and comfortable as you felt with Colton. It was like simply knowing he was there was enough to make you feel like you could handle anything the world had to throw at you.
“I made us dinner reservations for tonight,” Colton tells you.
Leaning back you look up at him with a slightly confused smile. All the other plans that you two had made for this trip had been made together. “Oh?” you ask. “Where?”
“That restaurant at the top of the mountain.”
“That really fancy one?” you ask, slightly surprised. The whole resort was nice, the suite you were staying in was beautiful, but from what you had heard that particular restaurant was very difficult just to get reservations to. With only five tables it was supposedly incredible but also took a lot of work, time, or money to get into.
Colton nods, leaning down and kissing you gently. “Reservation is for seven,” he whispers.
Smiling you press another quick kiss to his lips. “It sounds great.”
“We’ve still got about twelve hours till dinner, do you want to go for breakfast?” Colton chuckles, running his hands along your arms.
“Yeah, sure,” you tell him, smiling as you pull back and step towards the door. “I’ll start getting ready.”
Colton picks up the coffee mug you had left on the railing for you without saying anything about it. Of course you two had arguments on occasion. You were three years into a relationship, nobody has a life so perfect for three whole years that there wasn’t anything that caused an argument. But they were rare. He wouldn’t complain about having to carry in your mug for you because you wouldn’t complain the next time he almost forgets his wallet or phone somewhere and you have to be the one to keep his belongings together.
After getting ready you and Colton head out of the suite, walking down the hallway hand in hand to the elevator. “Is there something special about today? Am I forgetting something?” you ask, pressing the button for the elevator. You were excited about the dinner, surprised Colton had gotten a reservation there and done so without talking to you about it first. It just seemed like a special occasion type of dinner.
Colton looks down at you with a smile, a knowing smile, the kind of smile you give someone who you have an inside joke with. But you didn’t know what the joke was. “No,” he tells you, the smile not fading.
“Okay,” you giggle uncertainly, stepping into the elevator with him when the doors open, pressing the button for the lobby. “It’s not our anniversary, right? Because I’m pretty sure I know when that is and it’s not today,” you ask as you walk out of the hotel.
Colton chuckles and gently tugs you closer, wrapping his arm around your waist as you walk beside him. ”Why are you questioning it so much?” he asks gently. “It’s just a dinner, I wanted to treat us to something nice.”
Glancing up at him you smile softly. “Okay.” Pulling his arm away from your waist he reaches down, taking your hand. Walking through the resort you find a small cafe, heading inside and ordering breakfast and coffee before heading out onto the patio overlooking the mountains. “I love it here,” you tell Colton, sipping your coffee.
Colton looks back across the table towards you. “I do too,” he says. “We’ll come back again,” he tells you, like it’s already been set in stone, before looking back out at the mountains. You take the opportunity of him not paying attention to let your eyes linger on his profile. A soft sigh of contentment leaves your lips.
“Everything okay?” he questions in response to your sigh.
Reaching across the table you lace your fingers with his. “Everything is perfect.”
Standing in the bathroom later that evening you finish doing your hair before leaving for dinner. Your eyes shift away from your own reflection when you notice through the mirror Colton stepping into the bathroom door frame. Turning around you look him up and down. “Holy, you’re hot. Think I could get your number?” you joke, smiling up at him.
Colton steps closer, wrapping his arms around your waist. “There isn’t a single situation in which I wouldn’t give it to you.”
You let the words he said hang in the air for a second as you look up at him with a playful smirk. “Yeah? You’re going to give it to me?”
Running his hand down your arm he wraps his hand around your wrist, bringing your arm up over his shoulder. His other arm leaves your waist, using it to repeat the process with your other arm before sliding his hands down to your waist and swiftly lifting you up onto the counter you were standing beside. “Whenever you want it.”
“We’re going to be late for dinner,” you mutter, sliding your hands down his arms. “And you just got dressed.”
Colton leans forward, kissing you deeply for just long enough to leave you needing more. “It’s fine if we’re a little late,” he assures, sliding his hand up the inside of your thigh, gently pushing your legs apart.
“Colton,” you whine, moving one hand behind you on the counter to lean against. “You made all the arrangements, I don’t want them to give our table away.”
“Just trust me with this one, beautiful. I’ve got it taken care of.” His fingers reach your underwear beneath your dress, pushing them aside slowly.
“I don’t even know what that means.” A quiet gasp escapes your lips as he pushes past your underwear. “But I don’t care, just please don’t stop,” you whimper.
Colton leans down, pressing his lips against yours and kissing you roughly as his fingers move agonizingly slowly beneath your underwear. He uses his other hand to push your legs further apart. Biting your bottom lip gently you lift your thighs one at a time to help him, moving both your arms behind you and leaning back against them. Colton pulls away from your lips as his fingers brush against your clit, your moans no longer stifled now echoing in the bathroom. Leaning closer he wraps his arm around your back, finding the zipper on your dress and pulling it down without letting up on your clit. Pulling back he pushes the straps of your dress down and makes quick work of your bra with one hand. Leaning off your arms you pull the bra off, tossing it carelessly to the other side of the counter.
As you draw your arm back Colton slides one finger inside of you, his thumb moving to your clit. “Fuck,” you gasp, hand flying to his forearm, clinging onto him tightly. His thumb rubs gentle circles against your clit, enough to draw a string of moans without being too much. He knew exactly how you liked it. “Colton,” you gasp, squirming back on the counter as you pull your hands in front of you, fumbling with his belt. “We need to hurry up.”
Colton uses his free hand to grasp your wrist. “We don’t,” he chuckles, slipping another finger inside of you slowly. “I’ve handled everything. Just relax.”
With two fingers buried deep inside of you and his thumb still on your clit you’re no longer able to think straight to worry about being late to dinner. So instead you just nod, hands falling back behind you for support. “Okay,” you whimper, nodding as you lean onto your arms, tipping your head back slightly.
“There you go,” Colton says, fingers moving smoothly in and out of you. Leaning down he presses his lips to your shoulder, trailing down to your chest.
Your little moans and whimpers echo in the large bathroom as your breathing quickens, eyes fluttering shut, fingers searching for something to cling onto. Colton’s hand suddenly pulls back and your eyes fly open quickly. “Colton, please,” you whimper needily.
“I’ve got you,” he murmurs with a smug smirk. “Come here.” His hands clasp under your thighs, just behind your knees as he pulls you to the edge of the counter. Grasping the elastic of your underwear he pulls them off as you lift your hips up. Your bare ass hits the cool counter and you inhale sharply. “Too cold?” Colton asks.
Shaking your head you laugh softly. He was always so concerned with your comfort, trying to make sure everything was perfect. Sometimes it felt like too much. But you would never complain, could never complain about him being too considerate. “Just a little surprising,” you tell him, adjusting your dress that was still bunched up around your hips.
Colton nods, pushing your legs apart again as he leans down, kissing his way up your thighs, stopping occasionally to suck or nip at the skin on your inner thighs. Trying to remain patient you hold back a couple whimpers and force your hips to stay still on the counter. When he finally gets where you’ve wanted him the most a strangled cry escapes your lips. “Colton,” you moan out, hands slipping into his hair. Your breathing is no longer steady, air entering and leaving your body in jagged gasps and pants as his tongue works against you. His lips move to clit, tongue flicking over it. Bringing his hand over he slides two fingers back inside you, curling them up to hit your g-spot with seemingly expert precision. “Oh, fuck, Colton. Shit,” you stammer out, expletives mixed with moans and gasps. “Keep going,” you pant as you’re awash with the familiar build-up. You didn’t need to say it. You didn’t need to tell him to keep going. He knew your body almost as well as you knew it at this point. But it was like a reflex, an instinct, your body wanted it so bad your brain just refused to not blurt the words out. Moaning out as your body jerks through your orgasm your fingers curl against the cool countertop, looking for anything to hold onto as Colton works you through your orgasm.
Both of you are breathing heavily when he pulls back, leaving soft kisses up your stomach to your chest and finally your neck. “You’re so beautiful, coming undone for me like that,” he grumbles low in your ear.
Reaching over you run your fingers over the bulge in his dress pants, sliding your hand up to his belt buckle. “I want you inside me,” you whisper.
“Not going to argue against that,” Colton replies with a smirk, pulling back just enough to press his lips to yours as he reaches down. He pushes your hand aside, knowing he would get his own pants off much quicker and easier than you would get them off. Giggling against his lips at his actions you pull your hand back, moving it up over his shoulder. “Sorry baby, I just don’t can’t wait any longer,” he mutters.
Shaking your head at his apology you press a couple kisses to his jaw. “Don’t apologize, I don’t want to wait for me to do it either,” you giggle, shifting further towards the edge of the counter as he slides his pants and underwear down swiftly. “I want your shirt off,” you tell him, looking up into his eyes almost pleadingly. You could both get what you wanted out of this without worrying about him taking his shirt off, but it didn’t matter how many times you saw him shirtless, you always wanted to see as much of him as you could.
Colton smirks, fingers moving under your jaw and tipping your head back. “Anything you want,” he says, kissing you gently before pulling back to make quick work of the buttons on his shirt, slipping it off before stepping back between your legs. Colton brings one hand to your thigh, sliding it around to your ass. “Okay?” Colton asks, using his other hand to slowly ease into you when you give him a nod of approval.
He starts slow, easing into it for a bit before increasing the force. His hips begin moving quicker and harder against you. Grasping at his shoulders your body shifts back and forth on the countertop with each slam of his hips against your body. “Colton, fuck,” you mutter, nails scratching at the backs of his shoulders.
“Feel good?” Colton murmurs, grunting as he picks up pace. “Like how that feels? My cock inside you?”
Colton wasn’t always big on being the one saying dirty things during sex so when he did it was enough to almost push you over the edge. You mumble out a half discernable hum of agreement, nodding as you do, knowing you were no longer speaking clearly. Colton reaches down, thumb finding your clit as he continues slamming his hips against yours. The sensation sends a jolt through your body, your back arching as your fingers dig into his shoulders. “I-shit, Colt, I-I’m going, I’m going to-,” you stammer breathlessly.
Colton nods, leaning down and pressing a quick kiss to your lips. “I got you,” he says, the hand he had on your hip tightening while he keeps circling your clit. “Cum for me, beautiful.”
Your second orgasm washes over your body harder than the first. You desperately want something to cling onto but manage to hold yourself back as best you can from clawing up Colton’s back. You could barely think with the sensations, but you did know that your nails had most likely already made a considerable mark on him tonight and you weren’t looking to do any more damage. Your body trembles as a string of indistinguishable curses leave your lips amidst moans and whimpers. Colton groans, hips moving slower and sloppier as he rides out his own orgasm a couple moments after your own.
Breathing heavily you look up at Colton, smiling blissfully. Colton reaches forward, grabbing a towel from the top of the stack of clean ones. Slowly pulling out he immediately begins to clean everything up. “Don’t want to ruin your dress,” he chuckles, glancing over at you.
Humming you watch as he rinses the cloth out, returning and gently pressing the warm, damp fabric against your skin. Reaching over you press the button on your phone, watching the screen light up. “Fuck, Colton,” you exclaim, sitting up straighter.
“Shit, sorry, does that hurt? Are you alright?” Colton asks, pulling back immediately and turning his attention to you with a look of panic in his eyes.
“No, I’m fine, but it’s quarter to eight,” you tell him, pressing your hands onto the countertop and hopping down. Your legs almost buckle beneath you as your feet hit the ground.
“Woah,” Colton says, reaching over and supporting you. “Easy,” he chuckles. “Don’t worry about the time, okay? It doesn’t matter. Whenever we get there is fine.”
“But you said we had reservations for-.”
Colton presses his lips to yours, shutting you up with a soft kiss. “Doesn’t matter what I said earlier,” he whispers against your lips, placing his hands on your waist as he lifts you back up onto the counter. “Just sit for a minute, okay?”
Nodding uncertainly you reach over, picking up your bra from the counter and putting it back on as you watch Colton pull his underwear and pants back up. Grasping the straps of your dress you slide them back on, reaching behind you and pulling your zipper up. “I need to go get my shoes,” you tell Colton, who was still standing directly in front of you as he pulls his shirt on.
“I’ll grab them for you,” Colton offers, stepping back from the counter.
“I can get them. I’ve been able to walk after you’ve fucked me a lot harder than that,” you tell him, smiling teasingly.
“I’ll get them,” Colton insists, stepping back towards the bathroom door. “Which ones?”
“Okay,” you reply, drawing the word out in confusion as you grasp your underwear while he heads for the door. “The black heels, they’re beside my suitcase.” Sliding off the counter for a second you shimmy your underwear back on, glancing in the mirror to make sure you didn’t look too wrecked to go out before sitting back on the counter.
You hear some rustling in the room and furrow your eyebrows, listening closer to try and figure out what he was doing. A couple moments later Colton reappears in the doorway, looking slightly flustered. “These ones?” he asks with a smile.
“Mhm,” you hum, nodding. “Everything okay?”
“Yeah, definitely,” he assures. “You sure you want to wear these?” Colton asks, looking at the tall, strappy black heels.
Giggling you nod, reaching out for them. You drop your hand when he doesn’t hand you the heels, instead reaching out for your foot, lifting your leg and sliding one of the heels onto your foot. “Colton,” you whine, cheeks flushing. He still managed to make you flustered when he did things like this, things so sweet and considerate and perhaps over the top that you didn’t even know how to react to the situation. “I can put my own shoes on.”
“I know you can,” he says quietly, large hands struggling with the small clasp of the strap around your ankle. Gazing down at him you can’t help the content smile on your lips, the silence in the bathroom with his intense concentration comfortable. Finally getting the right shoe on Colton moves to the left, getting that one with a lot more ease than the first. “Do you need a few more minutes?” Colton asks.
Giggling you shake your head, taking his outstretched hands as he helps you off the counter. “I’m fine,” you assure him, turning around and looking in the mirror. Running your fingers through your hair and smoothing out your dress you glance up at Colton. “Ready when you are.”
Colton nods and reaches over, taking your hand in his and guiding you out of the bathroom and out the door into the hotel hallway. The two of you walk through the hotel and out the front door. The sun was already setting, the sky was still light but the sun was no longer hanging bright overhead. The walk through the resort was short, Colton leading the way to the gondola that would take you to the top of the mountain where the restaurant was located.
“Colton Parayko?” the employee sitting at the booth at the bottom of the gondola asks when you two approach.
“Yes,” Colton nods and the employee presses a couple buttons, the gondola doors opening a second later.
“Have a good evening,” the employee tells you as Colton steps over to the gondola. He keeps his hand securely in yours, waiting for you to get onto the gondola before stepping in a moment later. Walking to the back wall he leans against it, wrapping an arm around you and gently pulling you to lean against him.
Looking out the window as the gondola begins to slowly climb up the mountain you lean into Colton’s embrace. “What was that about? How did he know it was you?”
Colton looks down at you with a smirk, shrugging casually. “Good guess,” he comments.
You roll your eyes playfully, knowing that it was a lie. Colton lifts one hand off your waist, pressing his fingers against your jaw to turn your head towards him. Leaning down he captures your lips in a heated kiss. “Colton,” you whisper against his lips, stopping him before he could distract you any further with his lips.
“It’s just us tonight,” he huffs. “You’re bad at surprises.”
“Just us? Colton, this restaurant is crazy just to get reservations at. What do you mean it’s just us?” you ask in surprise, staring up at him with wide eyes.
“Exactly how it sounds,” he tells you, pulling your body closer to his. “Will you do something for me?”
“Of course,” you reply immediately.
“Don’t worry about anything tonight. Just enjoy tonight. Can you try to do that for me?”
You hesitate for a moment before ultimately nodding in agreement. Whatever tonight was about Colton was really trying to make it special so if all he wanted from you in return was to not worry about the how or the why then you were going to do that. “Okay,” you whisper.
Colton smiles, leaning down and kissing your forehead gently. “I love you.”
“Love you too,” you reply as the gondola door slides open. Colton slides his hand into yours, guiding you off the gondola.
Stepping onto the platform your eyes widen as you take everything in. Lights strung up along the sides of a wooden walkway a few feet above the rocky mountainside. This high up you were able to see the sun truly setting over the top of the mountain. The restaurant walls were covered in beautifully clear windows, the inside of the restaurant was lit up in a cozy yellow glow. A gentle breeze fills your ears with the sound of the trees around you rustling.
“Everything okay?” Colton asks, snapping you out of your thoughts.
“Colton,” you gush, turning your body to face him. “This is, oh my god, this is incredible.”
A smile spreads on Colton’s face as he nods towards the restaurant. “Let’s go inside.”
“Because we’re already an hour late?” you joke, giggling quietly as you walk along beside him towards the restaurant.
Colton chuckles getting to the door and pulling it open for you. “Was it worth it though?”
“I feel a little bad saying yes because you planned this,” you tell him, stepping inside and glancing back up at him. “But, yeah, it was.”
Colton smirks, stepping inside after you and letting the door shut behind. A server emerges quickly upon your entrance. “Good evening,” she greets. “How has your day been so far?” she asks, guiding you and Colton to a table in the corner next to a window overlooking the hill you had just come up, the lights of the resort twinkling nestled at the bottom of the hill.
“It’s been good, thank you,” Colton tells her as polite as always, walking around to your side of the table and pulling your chair out for you.
Smiling up at him you smooth your dress down the backs of your thighs before sitting down in the chair. “Thank you,” you whisper to him as he walks back around to his own side of the table.
You and Colton agree upon the tasting menu and the corresponding wine pairings. The dinner takes a few hours though you don’t notice how quickly the time passes until the dessert plates are taken away and you notice how dark it is outside.
“Let’s go out on the balcony for a minute,” Colton suggests, pushing his chair back and stepping over to your side of the table, taking your hand when you stand up.
You notice immediately that his palms are slightly sweaty, his body language uncertain. “Colton?” you ask, slightly nervous by his uncertainty.
“Yeah?” Colton mutters.
“What’s going on?”
Colton shakes his head in response, gently tugging you through the restaurant. Walking through the door to the balcony Colton guides you towards the railing. Stopping next to him you gaze out, looking up at the stars for a minute before turning your attention to the twinkling of the lights at the bottom of the mountain. Colton rests his hand against your lower back, his eyes fixed on you while you take in the scenery around you. The silence is more than comfortable for you, but with each passing second Colton grows more and more antsy.
“Y/N,” Colton says, drawing your attention back to him.
“Yeah?” you whisper, feeling a little nervous with how serious he was being.
Colton pulls you to face him, taking both your hands in his and staring into your eyes for a minute. You hear him inhale deeply and your anxiety and confusion only grow deeper. “Y/N,” he says, eyes locked on yours, voice sounding nervous. “I love you more than I know how to express in words. Every single day I wake up thinking I love you as much as it’s possible to love anyone but every night I end up going to bed knowing I love you even more. You’re the person I want to spend my life with, the person I want to share the best parts of my life with. You’re the one I know will be there to make the bad days better,” Colton pauses, taking a deep nervous breath.
Taking the opportunity with neither of you talking you pull one of your hands away, quickly wiping away a couple tears from your eyes while letting out a breath of laughter over your tears. “Colton,” you whisper, smiling up at him. “I-I don’t know what to say.”
“That’s okay,” Colton chuckles. “Because I’m not done yet. You’re the person I want to go to bed with every night and wake up to every morning. I can’t imagine my life without you in it. I want to start a family with you, whenever that happens. I was ready for it this morning but we can wait as long as we want because I know that no matter when it happens it’ll be incredible,” he pauses again and this time you can see that his eyes are glossy with tears.
“Colton,” you whisper, feeling him squeeze your hands gently.
“I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” Colton says, letting go of one of your hands as it slips into his pocket.
Your mind feels cloudy as Colton steps back, lowering himself onto one knee while never letting go of your other hand. “Y/N, will you marry me?”
You can feel your whole body almost shaking, heart hammering so heavy in your chest you’re pretty sure Colton would be able to hear it. Nodding quickly you wipe away a couple more tears. “Yes, of course,” you whisper as Colton takes your left hand to slide the ring on. Once he had stood back up you wrap your arms around his shoulders, leaning up and kissing him eagerly. His hands land on your waist, holding your body flush against his, physically unable to get any closer despite the effort you both were making. It all felt like a dream. Not that you hadn’t thought about it, imagined it. You were sure that a part of you had known for a while. Knew that one day you would marry him. But you never imagined the proposal would be like this. Never imagined it would be this perfect.
“I love you so much,” you whisper breathlessly against his lips as you pull back. There weren’t any other words to say, your heart felt so unbelievably full, like all the pieces had fallen together.
Colton presses his lips to your forehead as you pull away. “Aren’t you going to look at it?”
“What?” You ask, staring up into his eyes.
Colton chuckles and takes your hand, lifting it up and sliding his palm under your fingers to straighten them out. “The ring. Do you like it?”
Smiling you look down at the ring on your finger. It didn’t matter what it looked like to you. What mattered was that you were engaged. But even though it wasn’t the important part, the ring was indeed perfect. “I love it, Colton.”
A couple minutes later the server comes outside, carrying two glasses of champagne. “Congratulations,” she says, handing you each a glass before heading back inside and leaving you two alone again.
Colton lifts his glass, clinking it against yours as you stare up at him, still in a slight daze. “Cheers to you, my fiancé ,” he says, emphasizing the word fiancé with a massive smile on his face.
“To us.”
“To us,” he echoes.

Harvest Moon & Story of Seasons: To the Ones I’ve Loved (and Have Crushed On, In Some Form or Another)
This will be under the cut, because there are a LOT of games to address!
Tumblr media
Cliff: More Friends of Mineral Town/DS Cute
One of my lovetime faves from the series! I related to him, what with us both being shy and needing help a lot from the people around us. Look at how cute he is when he blushes!! Whenever I play DS Cute, he’s always my first option.
(He also likes grapes. Always a good choice.)
Tumblr media
Gray: More Friends of Mineral Town/DS Cute
I...have complicated feelings for Gray, honestly. On one hand, he’s never stood out too much to me, for some reason. He’s a fun enough character- a gruff grandson of the local blacksmith, who softens up over your relationship with him- but he never caught my eye as someone I’d wish to chase down as much as, say, Cliff.
But at the same time, I have many fond memories of calling him “Uma Boy” (because of his hat) and it’s cute?? It has “childhood friends to lovers” vibes that still makes me hesitate when I want to say I- supposedly- have no interest in him...
Tumblr media
Karen: Friends of Mineral Town/HM DS
While I prefer her art design to this one (the one with her two-toned hair), I adore this bachorlette regardless! A part of it her design, but the other part of it her assertive nature... After all, when I’m not looking to grow together with someone, I’m looking for someone who will help me come out of my shell! (Even if I must be dragged out, which Karen would certainly do.)
Tumblr media
Marlin: DS Cute
Gosh... I remember overlooking a lot of bachelors back in the day. I was admittedly kinda shallow as a kid, so I easily looked over plenty of fine guys in favor of the “prettier” ones...ignoring my vague interest in the girls. However, in my endless attempts to see all heart events (cheat codes, babey!)....I ended up really liking Marlin. More than I thought I would.
He’s sickly, but determined to make it on his own. Hating that he’s babied, but acknowledging the fact that being sick is kinda scary for the family who looks after him, his elder sister, Vesta (owner of a popular farm in Forget-Me-Not Valley), and their hired help, Celia.
He blushes cute, is cute, and though I never married him in game, I did consider it. He’s doing his best and is so damn supportive...
Tumblr media
Celia: HM DS
Speaking of Celia-!! Talk about one of my earlier girl-crushes! I had feelings for her that I could never pin down, because I didn’t hate her or anything, but I didn’t quite....friend-like her, either. Apparently, it’s because I’m panromantic af. Who would’ve guessed?!
Anyways. She’s cute, oblivious like me, and just as hardworking as Vesta, with all the kindness to look after Marlin w/o taking away his agency and wanting to help others.... Basically, I’m saying that if I F/O any one of these two, the other is coming with. Farming power throuple.
Tumblr media
Flora: HM DS
(Belated sidenote that HM DS and DS Cute are the same game, but Different Gender. Natsume was slow on that one for a long while.)
Flora was yet another one of those ladies that I liked, but didn’t know it was because I was actually p gay. Whoops! Anyways, you see this lovely lass working on site with Carter (an older bachelor, for those who have a Type for older men). They’ve been working on this mine site, because...I think there’s some archeological finds down there? It’s been a long time since I played, so I don’t remember much!
....However, strong woman in a tank top and shorts make me a happy, fluster gay and her hair looking as fluffy as it does only intensifies it. (Ah, to lovingly brush off the dust and mud from her face from a long day at work... Clean her glasses for her while she cleans up... [dreamy sigh])
Tumblr media
Skye: DS Cute
(oh god, I wrote his name as Skype accidentally, oH NO) Another bachelor I really liked during the early days....though for a long time, it was a toss up on if I Liked him or liked him [to pair with an OC]. While I did eventually pair him with an OC (Claire, the blonde MC option for DS Cute), there’s still a fondness in my heart for him...
And a plot twist, now... His “chick beam” ain’t gonna work on someone who’s not a girl~!
Tumblr media
Muffy: HM DS
She’s just....cute. And hardworking. Flirty. The girl at the bar not only helping serve up drinks (to the best of her abilities; she’s learning), but a fun time! Definitely a bit of the stereotypical femme, but good gosh, I’d never want her any other way. Literally the only problem I’d have is I get uncomfortable around drunk people (past issues, fear of potential addictive personality, and drunk ppl are usually Loud People).
Otherwise, I’d love to be supportive of Muffy, her dreams, and how damn cute she looks!! (And relate to fears of getting our hearts broken, but oooohhh it’s got fic potential, that does.)
Tumblr media
Keira: HM DS
This lovely lady is not only one of the early-day, special bachelorettes, but mute, as well! Her voice was taken away by the Witch Princess and (with no in game way to get it back for her) she communicates by writing on a board.
....Basically, I want to learn sign language with her and create a peaceful house with her and maybe a bunch of cats. Purrhaps.
Tumblr media
Jamie: Magical Melody
(I was no longer able to get sprites/icons from this point forward, sorry!!) This game. Is so difficult...and go figure the one I like the best is the hardest possible spouse to woo! Complete the game, ship out at least one of EVERY crop, have owned one of every animal (at some point), and etc. Oh. My goddess. THE AMOUNT OF WORK TO MARRY SOMEONE YOU CAN’T EVEN KEEP!!!!
....Yeah, uh. All that work and the game resets. No post-marriage bliss for the PC and Jamie. (Who is apparently genderfluid.) I.....augh. In the end, it’s not even their nearly-toxic, tsundere personality that drives me up the wall.... It’s the fact that I can’t marry them and have it stay that way unless I want to write a bunch of fanfiction about it. :/
Meanies. Making me write out all this stuff myself...
Tumblr media
Ray: Magical Melody
I feel sorry to say it, but I will: When I learned the game wouldn’t let the player marry Jamie permanently, I sought out someone else...and found comfort in Ray. He’s a well-known fisher and- apparently- has a timeslot on the TV for talking about fishing, too.
It’s a very fish-based lifestyle, but I guess that’s why I play as a farmer, right~? We can bring some variety in to the meal table! (Also, he’s a shy guy. What a cutie~)
Tumblr media
Chase: Animal Parade
The reason I got into playing this game....and then everything else solidified my reasons to play forevermore! And to this day, Animal Parade is my favorite HM/SoS game of all time. (Literally the only thing that could’ve made it more perfect would be changing hairstyles/colors... Oh, and gay marriage. Gimme that too, pls.)
ANYWAYS, this asshole is tsundere as hell and a prickly pear, but.... If you can fight past it to befriend him, he’s pretty fun and....I guess dedicated to his work, is the best way I can phrase it. He’s still very much not too “soft” even after marriage (though he can be pretty damn cute), but... Basically, imagine Gordon Ramsey in a dating sim, complete with a redesign. Pretty accurate description of Chase.
I ship him more w/ an OC I have than myself, buuuut he’s still precious to me. In a dorky, tsundere way. (Also, I think about the OC I ship him with all the time... That whole save file was me being dedicated to marrying this man, from the name of the farm to the crops I sold. Goodness!)
Tumblr media
Wizard: Animal Parade
The husband. Of all time. Not just for his looks, but also his sweet, quiet, gentle personality. Wizard (who’s real name is not revealed until you marry him) speaks in many ellipses.....some longer...than others.... But he’s also a stargazer. Oh, and implied to be long-lived. Y’know. Things to break your heart with.
I simply cannot put into words how much I adore him. I originally played this game to marry Chase (as I mentioned above), but it was Wizard who stole my heart. He’s been on my F/O list ever since and it’s there he’ll stay!
Tumblr media
Harvest King: Animal Parade
One who actually used to be on my F/O list, but I removed him because I thought feelings had faded.....haha, fool. Nobody escapes the king. (Or, well, Harvest God, but y’know. Translation avoiding mentions of “god” and all.)
Honestly, I didn’t know how to feel about him aside from “I like his design” for a long while. He’s got a lot of elements that are aesthetically pleasing to me, but w/o good characterization to back him up... What’s left? (Plus, him not living at home with the PC kinda sucked. Was being a single parent really gonna be okay with me...?)
What ended up breaking my heart and reviving it all at once was his 20 heart line. “After you are gone… I shall love what you loved… I shall sing the songs that you sang.”
He is immortal. He must stay atop the mountain, only able to watch...sneak away, perhaps, when he can. He sees the inevitability of the PC’s death...and fuck. It hurts in the most bittersweet way. To imagine him, alone, years upon thousands of years after they are gone.....and yet, remember them so well. Perhaps still distantly watch over what becomes of his family line...
To love this man is to experience the love and pain of mortal/immortal couples, and- truly- know what the phrase means: “To love and have lost is better than to never love at all.”
Tumblr media
Harvest Goddess: Animal Parade
There are many incarnations of the Goddess throughout the HM/SoS series, but this one from AP is a forever fave from me. Her design is gorgeous on so many levels (the looping braid, the ombre in her hair color, her outfit, the wing-like extensions on her back, the large hoop bracelets, etc), her face looks so kind and.......breathtaking beyond words--
And much like Wizard and Harvest King before her, she has a name she can only share with you after marriage. And having that detail be a part of her marriage ceremony is what hits a little harder, I feel. It feels so much more personal to have a name that isn’t just “Harvest Goddess” to call her. (I’m pretty sure some of the other games have done this, too? But again, I personally prefer this iteration!)
....If I ever were to ship with her, I honestly feel like I’d have to do an OT3 w/ Harvest King. He’s a prickly bastard and Harvest Goddess here would likely roll her eyes at him many a time, but... Considering their understanding and eventual love of mortal life, I’d say they could reach an agreement someday.
Tumblr media
Toby: Animal Parade
Gosh. Another character I didn’t think much of until later... I wanted to do an LP of Animal Parade and- for the occasion- got obsessed with a new OC to focus on; I named her Elise and framed everything after her around musicians and songs. (Because her name was a reference to Fur Elise.) Of course, I then had to think of who she’d marry....
Toby was not only an option for her, but quickly caught my interest as easily as he caught fish. Though it might’ve helped that he reminded me of another, old anime crush!
Anyways, much like he appears, Toby is a laid back young man. He spends his days happily enjoying his hobby- fishing (he isn’t employed, despite his family owning a business)- and soaking up nature. His heart events reflect this, musing about the tranquility of nature and enjoying the silence and relaxation of fishing. (There’s also a few occasions where he opens his eyes... The color of them is SO pretty!)
And if you marry him? Traditional Japanese wedding attire. He looks so handsome in it~!
Tumblr media
Candace: Animal Parade
I just....really like shy girls. And Candace especially makes me feel SO MANY warm fuzzies. Has high social anxiety, but prefers her time be spent in her family’s shop, Sonata Tailoring. She’s a talented worker, and with her grandmother’s help and sister’s guidance, it’s become quite the fashion hotspot! (Well.... Perhaps it’ll do far better after the PC helps heal up the island some more, y’know? The place isn’t doing so hot without help from the Harvest Sprites!)
ALSO, I really, really love her big hair and outfit... Her big braids look so soft and she looks incredibly cozy in her cardigan... Honestly, the cardigan, button up shirt, and skirt alone work together to put together the image of someone shy, yet warm in both personality and in being! (...But I bet her fingers get cold... Gee, suppose I could do something about that...?)
Precious. 100/10, would love to kiss her cheek softly and make her blush while snow falls outside, but we’re in my warm home with a big puppy and the fireplace going.
Tumblr media
Vaughn: Island of Happiness/Sunshine Islands
Heehee, tiny. Anyways, meet cowboy husband! Fond of farm animals, his work (delivering farm animals to the island)....and that’s about it. Not really too thrilled about other people, but his whole arc is about warming up to you, anyways, so. It’s one of those, fksjfkls.
He’s REALLY cute, though.... I wish I had more memories w/ him, but I lost the OG file where I married him and we had a kid, so. Heck. :)
Tumblr media
William Terry Louis Andrew Carrick Jonathan Dredge Hams Redding Rodger Southwark Alnwick Plymouth Junior Regison III: Sunshine Islands
Yes. Yes, I did need to write out his full name. I married this man and if I have to process that this is my husband’s full name, you do, too. (Seriously, why did they make his name so long?!) This man’s long name aside...
Not only is he your typical rich boy (complete with Big Boat), but he’s also....a prince! Bet you woulda never seen that coming... (And yes, he does have a white horse that he rides around occasionally.) I know I’m roasting him, here, but he deserves it. A little bit. Maybe. Totally not because I can still feel the distant effects of this man flustering me in the past...
(He’s so charming and he has some misguided moments, but goodness, he is just Pure of Heart, Dumb of Ass. I love him.)
Tumblr media
Lily: Sunshine Islands
Visiting treasure hunter, adorkable, and with a way of finding her next great adventure. She’s so lively! And lovely! Maybe she should look into a mirror and find out the great treasure of all is herself!!!
Okay, that was pretty cheesy.
Regardless, she’s a delight, I love her character, and any jealousy I might’ve had towards her in the past? Gone for deep feelings of, “Let me love you and let’s create the greatest treasure collection of all~!”
Tumblr media
Angelo: Grand Bazaar
I remember Angelo not quite being my first choice when I got Grand Bazaar. He seemed adorable, and having another artist around is always a plus, but... I simply wasn’t sure if I should go through with it. Would he impress me that much?
...In the end, he did. I remember being with my cousins when I stumbled into his final heart event, freaking out and hurrying to write it down! (I had a habit of writing down the dialogue to every heart event I witnessed. I have some of them still, to this day!)
He’s far more of a well-rounded artist than I am, but I think that’s just another thing to love about him. Well, that, and a difficulty handling people when he needs them to stop! (It’s relatable, is what I mean; telling people off- even if you really need to- is hard! Especially when it’s a kid!) He’s just....a ton of fun at the end of the day. And that fluffy hair...... You know I love it~!
Tumblr media
Emiko: Grand Bazaar
I never got to meet Emiko, to my memory. I didn’t play Grand Bazaar a lot, nor for too long, as the learning curve for the bazaar was steep. (I wasn’t much one for learning recipes, and then they wanted me to learn how to peddle my wares?! And sometimes, it went by so fast!!! It was super overwhelming...) However, she’s a special bachelorette, so getting to meet her at all would’ve been a surprise/struggle for the me who fought trying to learn the bazaar alone...
Looking on her here and now... She. Is. Adorable. Hard to woo, but a secret shrine-area behind the waterfall? The last heart event is letting her see the world for herself...? I love that so much. Getting to re-experience the world through a new view is something I treasure dearly, and Emiko is just that...along with being super adorable. I harp on it because it’s true!!
Maybe someday, if I try the game again with more success... I’ll play as a guy just to court Emiko.
Tumblr media
Cam: Tale of Two Towns
Literally the reason I bought this game in the first place, LMAO! He looked really cute and hearing that he worked at a flower shop? How could I ever resist?! The scene was set up for adorableness and potential romance (based around flowers) and so I was eagerly swept away~!
And he does live up to that sweet, charming air...while also being a bit social anxious; how relatable!
Tumblr media
Kana: Tale of Two Towns
I haven’t played this game in forever, but if there was anything to ever remember about it..... Kana is a himbo. This man works with horses, so he is strong. Respects women. His dummy part kicks in because this man rarely thinks of anything else except horses (we stan this man and his hyperfixation). You can befriend him with gifts of horse treats.
Marrying this man is marrying him AND getting a free horse-sister out of it (her name is Hayate) and with arms like that? What a dream come true, on all sides.
Tumblr media
Nori: Tale of Two Towns
Local seamstress and assistant to her grandfather at his seed shop. Honestly... She kinda reminds me of myself. Although while I’ve quieted down in some ways, I’ve stayed lively in others! I mostly just need friends around to bring my energy up, instead of producing it fresh, myself, ehehe.
But seriously... Her kindness goes above and beyond, perfectionist anxiety is relatable, and it just...sounds nice to put together a life with her. Helping others, helping each other, helping ourselves. Wow.
Tumblr media
Reina: Tale of Two Towns
The botanist who- much like someone else- hyperfixates on her work until the world around her is white noise. While it is a shame to feel like you’re not being listened to and your S/O is lost in her work... Honestly, the thought of learning about plants from her has me losing it. Also, a home filled with perfectly cared-for plants? MAJOR serotonin.
It’s like.....the ideal cottagecore couple, just with more farming involved. (Personally, for me, the image of cottagecore has always been small, personal gardens and not the sprawling estate of land-for-crops (and animals!) that HM puts out.) One of us will be making cute journals...or maybe it’s both of us? She does aesthetic research journals and I do cute, personal ones? With poems and such?
UGH. Just call me a simp and get it over with.
Tumblr media
Sanjay: A New Beginning
Do I even have to say it? How fast I fell for this man? Because I shouldn’t. I’m incredibly predictable with my tastes and they will likely never change.
Anywho. Butler to Amir (another potential bachelor), but all I wanted was this soft-hearted, gentle man who looks out for everyone, is incredibly kind and friendly, and loves tea a whole bunch. His long hair, put into a braid.... [sighs dreamily] How ever am I going to cope...?
I never did finish ANB, but I want to! Because this man is SO HANDSOME and I wanna put a ring on it. (Sorry, Amir! You might need to employ someone else! Thanks, bye!)
Tumblr media
Inari: Trio of Towns
This one came from a recommendation, one I wasn’t at all expecting...and now I’m “stuck” with this one. And don’t want them to let go.
They remind me of two previous spouses already on the list: Harvest King/Goddess and Jamie. The latter for their gender being undefined until marriage (where the game will then either dress Inari up in masculine marriage clothes or feminine marriage clothes, to be the opposite gender to the PC). The former checks out in that- like them and many other special candidates- Inari will not live at home with the player. It breaks my heart, but the reward itself is seeing this lovely fox deity learn how to love, to be willing to put their heart on the line, and even have a child.
I couldn’t be happier to be introduced to this game in such a way. Consider my first save slot dedicated to you, darling kitsune~! (And a spot for you on the F/O list sometime soon, too!)
Tumblr media
Yuzuki: Trio of Towns
“I won’t fall in love with another bachelor,” I lied, lyingly. “I will just be in love with Inari. Nobody else.” A fool, I was. Predictable, as all times before. I read a little too much into a character....and suddenly, a proposal comb is being slapped into my hand. Dammit!
Being the fan-favorite occasionally helps my interest in certain characters, but what always gets me in the end...is that personality. Oh, and does Yuzuki deliver... Not only is he a kind, supportive man with his own business, but said business is making hairpins! His grandmother usually helps model them, but more and more during your romancing does your PC model for him, instead. (Literally the first piece you model he made SPECIFICALLY with you in mind, oh my god.)
But wait! There’s more! Being a model that knocks him breathless...and shows a surprising bit of ego. (Not a bad thing, but definitely not a vice I was expecting from him!) So many cute lines. Goodness.
....I admittedly just watched the heart/flower events, so I’m SOFT.

Year 2 Part 1- Coming Back
Hey, guys! Year 2 of David Grant’s adventures at Hogwarts have begun! Not really much to say except thank you for your patience and I hope you all enjoy! Any feedback is welcome:)
David Grant stared outside of the window almost precisely three months after his last trip on the Hogwarts express, witnessing . The summer passed slowly, too slow for his own liking, but the time had come to return to the gargantuan institution once more and he could not have been more excited.
To be sure, he had not spoken of his adventures to his parents. Evidently, Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall felt it wasn’t important to inform them of the majority of his misdeed and run ins, something for which he was extremely grateful. His mother was overbearing and cautious as it was, and dad didn’t do much to counteract it. Other than family meals, or an occasional excursion into London to visit relatives, there wasn’t much to report from the Grant household. It also went without saying that he had also not mentioned being on Jacob’s trail. Though they only had one clue at the moment, it was enough and more than ever, David believed he was alive. Before his first year, he wouldn’t have even entertained the possibility. Now, he was determined to find the break through that would lead him to his long lost sibling and the vaults were the key.
His thought process brought him back to earth with Rowan prattling endlessly about his summer within their compartment.
“…she’s such a cute cat. Fuzzclaw is the real brains of the family I always say. Also my parents started growing another kind of wood made for a batch of wands. Ollivander just ordered a whole bunch.”
When David didn’t respond immediately, his friend waved a hand to grab his attention.
“Hello? Earth to David? Are you going to say something? I feel like I’ve been talking for over ten minutes.”
“That’s because you have.”
Rowan appraised him.
“You’re distracted and that usually means you’re thinking about your brother, the vaults, or both.”
“Good guess,” David replied. “Sorry, Rowan, I don’t mean to be rude. But my summer was…forgetful let’s just put it that way. Going back to Hogwarts, I have a lot on my mind.”
“Forgetful? Did anything bad happen?”
“More like it was just incredibly boring,” he shrugged. “Mum had us visit our relatives and my little cousins but I rarely had the opportunity to do, well, anything. The sooner we get back to Hogwarts, the happier I’ll be.”
“Too right. I’ve been running through our coursework this year. It should be slightly busier and more challenging than last year,” Rowan said excitedly. “I hope we get to learn more about giants.”
“If Binns doesn’t put me to sleep first, I’d share that sentiment.”
Laughing, Rowan chucked him a chocolate frog, which David began munching on before the spell could take effect.
“That reminds me, did you find anything more about those Aramaic ciphers?” he said through a mouthful of chocolate. “I couldn’t do much with my mum hovering about all the time.”
“As a matter of fact, I did,” his best friend answered. “I wish I had the book on me right now, but I can show it to you when we get to our dorms. But the basic gist is that the language was used by a sect of wizards back in the early Middle Ages, including Merlin. It’s enchantments and power were apparently greater than that of Latin, even though that’s what most wizards used around the time Hogwarts was founded.”
“That’s interesting,” David said genuinely. “Did it say anything about the vaults?”
Rowan shook his head.
“No, but there’s a lot of interesting history there and what the vaults could have or rather be hiding. Aramaic was also inscribed on ancient relics, including one that King Arthur personally searched for: The Holy Grail.”
David thought back a minute, the name sounding vaguely familiar.
“Hold on, isn’t that part of some muggle fairy tale?”
“It’s more than just a muggle fairy tale, Dave. Remember who advised King Arthur at the Court of Camelot? Merlin, arguably the greatest wizard who ever lived. I’ve read that story a million times and I love the adventures they go on. Especially their quest for the Grail.”
“You keep mentioning some sort of Grail.”
“King Arthur and his knights were Christian, which is the majority muggle religion in Britain,” Rowan explained. “The Grail was an important part of their faith.”
David had to admit, Rowan’s encyclopedic knowledge of these kinds of things came in handy and provided entertaining stories. But he failed to make the connection.
“That sounds brilliant and all, but what does a Christian relic have to do with the cursed vaults?”
“Everything,” Rowan said becoming more excited. “Because the Grail wasn’t some religious piece. It was real and created by Merlin himself! Supposedly it had all sorts of powers, and anyone who drank from it would be granted immortality. As I said, it was probably inscribed with ancient Aramaic like we found on the door. It could be one of the treasures hidden inside the vaults.”
This was all well and good, but believe it or not, the now second year Gryffindor held no interest in the concept of living forever. This ‘Holy Grail’ was actually quite fascinating, but it was not quite enough to go off of in terms of actually finding the vault or his brother.
“The treasure is irrelevant, Rowan,” he said firmly. “We need to discover the location of these stairs first and foremost before doing anything else. Jacob is the number one priority.”
“Of course,” the Indian preteen nodded. “Still, doesn’t mean it’s not fun to think about.”
“You read too much, Rowan.”
“And you don’t read enough,” his best friend chuckled.
David chucked the wrapper at him in jest. He peered around idly curious as to where some of their other friends were.
“Did you see Ben on the train, by the way? He should be sitting with us.”
“I caught a glimpse of him,” Rowan told him. “Last I saw he was talking with Bill Weasley about something.”
Well at least he’s in good hands
David was comforted knowing he was probably among those who would treat him well. While Ben had made great strides the previous year, he still didn’t like the idea of him running into any of the Slytherins on his own. Honing his full potential as a wizard would still take some time.
“Maybe we should say hello-”
At that moment, a crash and a muffled yelp could be heard outside the door. The two boys wasted no time in peeking out of the compartment to see what the ruckus was about, only for a blur of orange to stumble into them.
“Quick, shut the door!”
Only then did David realize that the blur was Charlie Weasley, who was grimacing and grabbing his shoulder.
“Charlie are you alright?”
“Never mind that, is the door shut?”
Rowan double checked that it was secure and gave a thumbs up.
“Good. Merlin, that freaked me out.”
“Slow down,” David said, pulling him up off the seat. “Just what the bloody hell happened?”
“I’m not sure, exactly,” Charlie said, still grabbing his shoulder. “I was just reading an article about Chinese Fireballs as I walked down the hallway. Must not have watched where I was going because I accidentally bumped into this Slytherin girl. Next thing I know, she’s firing hexes at me.”
“What did she hit you with?” Rowan pressed him urgently. “Maybe we should find a nurse.”
Charlie gave a wave of his wand.
“Nah, I’m fine. Worst she did was a stinging hex on my back. Though no doubt she was using deadlier stuff than that.”
“Any idea what she looked like?”
“Yeah, actually I do. Pale girl, recognized her from last year. Black hair covering half her face, a little freckly, with giant boots.”
David and Rowan looked at each other, gaging whether or not they were on the same page.
“Does that ring a bell, David?”
“Somewhat,” he said racking his memories. “She’s a Slytherin in our year. Real quiet, never says anything. I think her name is Ismelda.”
“That’s it,” Rowan confirmed. “I remember overhearing Professor McGonagall talk about her hexing a whole bunch of Gryffindors last year. Said she used spells that someone her age isn’t supposed to know.”
David raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah, somehow I don’t think that’s a coincidence. Sounds like another Death Eater in training to me.”
Charlie shrugged as he grabbed a frog from the pile they had collected.
“Lots of Slytherins are gits, but I can’t imagine all of them are.”
“Trust me, the less of their presence I have to deal with, the better,” David frowned. “One in particular.”
“Merula,” Rowan answered for him. “I’m hoping a summer away from Hogwarts mellowed her out a bit.”
“That’s about as likely as a giant’s ass fitting through a straw.”
Charlie snorted as he laid back down on the seat.
“We’re not even halfway to Hogwarts and you both are carrying on about rubbish we don’t need to worry about just yet. Let’s relax and play some exploding snap or something.”
Charlie had a way of putting things into perspective and in the end David and Rowan acquiesced, putting aside the vaults, Merula and everything else. During the course of the game, they discovered their red headed friend’s desire to try out for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, which was not surprising given his natural talent for flying.
“So you have a broom and everything?”
“Yeah,” Charlie said plainly. “But it’s not very good. Mum and Dad really couldn’t really afford a decent one. It’s a cleansweep seven.”
Cleansweeps were serviceable, but it was common knowledge that they couldn’t go as fast as the comet and nimbus series.
“Maybe you’ll get another at some point?” Rowan encouraged. “My family could help make one for you at a discount with one of the better makers.”
“It’s okay, I appreciate that, Rowan,” Charlie said, going pink slightly at the generous offer. “But I’ll make do. It’s the talent after all, not the broom.”
“Well I hope you make it, mate. We can’t be any worse than we were last year. Haven’t had a real team since James Potter was seeker back in the seventies,” David said shaking his head. “The father of the boy who lived himself.”
“He was a legend. If I can be as half as good as him, I’d be more than happy.”
They discussed Quidditch for the better part of the next few hours before the light slowly gave way to dark and the Express was minutes away from pulling into the station.
A knock on their compartment and Bill appeared in the doorway, looking as cool as ever even in his uniform.
“Hey, you all might want to get changed into your robes, we’ll be arriving soon.”
“Time flies when you’re talking about Quidditch,” David yawned, stretching out his arms. “Didn’t even realize it was so dark. Thanks, Bill.”
“No problem. By the way, have any of you seen, Ben?”
That perked up eyebrows.
“We thought he was with you,” David said, a note of anxiety in his voice.
“Wasn’t he sharing a compartment with you earlier?” Charlie asked.
“He was. But then he left, and I haven’t seen him since. I figured he went and found you guys.”
“Well he isn’t here, Bill,” the younger Weasley replied. “Haven’t even caught wind of him.”
An uncomfortable silence followed at the revelation that their friend was missing. Rowan gave a sideways glance to David, who in turn looked at Charlie. It appeared that the mysteries to solve this year had grown by one more.
“I’m sure he’s fine,” Bill reassured them. “I’ll keep an eye out for him. In the meantime, make sure you’re in your robes by the time the train pulls in.”
He exited the compartment leaving the three second years in a state of puzzlement. Rowan looked especially anxious.
“Rowan, relax. We’ll find Ben, okay?”
“It’s not that,” he replied, and now he sounded excited. “I mean I’m worried about him of course, but Bill Weasley actually talked to me!”
“He was talking to all of us,” David pointed out, trying not to laugh.
“I know! But still, no one that cool even acknowledges my existence usually!”
Charlie silently rolled his eyes, while David couldn’t help but give a nervous chuckle. Amidst the positive emotions about returning to Hogwarts, the fact that one of his friends was nowhere to be found was an ominous welcome back greeting.
Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Given that they were no longer first years, this time around they rode the carriages, which were pulled by some kind of invisible horse, into the front entrance of the school as opposed to crossing the lake with Hagrid (the big man still waved his usual massive hand, cheerfully at them). Privately, David was thankful for this step up in seniority, however minor it might be. His sorting the previous year had been quite the spectacle and he was more than content with being among the general crowd this year.
Still, his brother was out there somewhere and he would continue to pursue that avenue. He didn’t care about the vaults as much as he did Jacob. After a tumultuous first year in which he had risked expulsion (and worse), the last thing he wanted to was to incur the ire of Filch or Snape.
Or Merula for that matter…but in that case I have no choice, he mused.
The returning students made their way to the Great Hall, taking their seats at their respective tables. As the crowd continued to shuffle in, David took his seat next to Rowan and Charlie, Jae trailing in behind them.
“Any sign of him?” David asked.
Rowan scanned around, briefly.
“No, not yet. Honestly I’m starting to seriously worry now…”
“Who are you guys referring to?” Jae cut in.
“Ben. You haven’t seen him have you?”
“Yes, actually.”
Rowan eyes nearly popped up out of his glasses.
“What?! Where?!”
“Just now. Two rows down from you actually.”
The two boys quickly turned their heads to find the blond boy sitting in his seek looking perfectly normal, which in itself was a contradiction.
“Psst,” Rowan whispered trying to get his attention. “Ben!”
“Huh? What?”
He angled to see them better.
“Ben, where the hell were you today on the train?”
“I was with Bill,” he said simply.
“Yeah, but where were you before that?” Rowan pressed. “Or after you left his compartment.”
“Around.”
In David’s opinion, there was something off about their friend. Though he otherwise appeared fine, the non chantant way in which he was talking and the half glazed look in his eye was odd to say the least. But before he had a chance to dig further, they were interrupted by the sound of the Great Hall doors swinging open, Professor McGonagall and the new first years in tow.
Though only second years, David already felt like a veteran from a war compared to the fresh, young curious faces that now entered their presence.
“Did we really look that way when we were sorted?” Charlie whispered, evidently thinking of the same thing.
“Nah, no way.”
Soon enough, Professor McGonagall explained the rules to the young students, the hat sung its song, and the sorting was on its way. Unlike last year, however, it seemed to take forever. Time flew when your stomach was empty and the prospect of food salivating. The young Gryffindors tried to cheer their fellow inductees as best they could but by the time the sorting reached the letter ‘R’ most, including the older students were pretty burned out.
“Is it supposed to take this long?” David grumbled.
“Probably how everyone else felt when we were sorted,” Rowan said.
Though it felt like agony, at long last the last of the first years were sorted and up Dumbledore came to the podium, his midnight robes shimmering, his old, but penetrating blue eyes twinkling at them.
“Welcome to all, once more, to a new year at Hogwarts!” he announced. “To our first years, I give my warmest welcome and I’m sure that our returning students can forgive an old man so he may explain a few rules and boundaries,” he said with a wink.
A few quietly groaned, but that was all the protest one would hear. One did not complain openly to the Headmaster when making a speech, even someone as eccentric as Dumbledore.
“First, I would like to reiterate to all that the Forbidden Forest is out of bounds to all students and there will be severe consequences straying its borders. Second, Mr. Filch, the caretaker, has asked me to inform you that the list of banned items has been increased to one hundred and thirty six. Anyone wishing to know more may see the visit outside of his office door. For those of you know old enough to try out for your respective house Quidditch teams, Madam Hooch will be posting the dates within the next couple of weeks, so do be on the lookout.”
Dumbledore took a pause, his eyes becoming more searching than twinkling, as though he were gazing into the soul of each student in his presence.
“Lastly, I would like to add one thing, Hogwarts is a place of education and growth. Please, focus on your studies and spend time with your friends, but above all else, be careful as you journey about the castle. If you see anything odd that isn’t the Hogwarts sort of ‘oddity’, do not hesitate to tell a professor. Every year is an interesting one, but something tells me this year holds more surprises than most.”
The smile returned to the centenarian’s face.
“But enough of my ominous warnings and grand proclamations. Enjoy the feast.”
Immediately, food popped out of nowhere and David couldn’t help but grin at Rowan at the reaction of the first years. Only a year ago they had done the same thing at their first feast. Now, it was simply time to enjoy.
“Turkey?” a Gryffindor girl in their year offered.
“Don’t mind if I do,” David thanked her. “I’m starving.”
Rowan, however, gave him a small nudge.
“Dumbledore’s speech was especially cryptic. Do you think it means anything?”
Privately, the now second year never put anything past the Headmaster. The man was something of an enigma, even if he was also brilliant. Last year had taught him that much.
“I’m not too concerned with it, really,” he shrugged. “Let’s just eat. Pass the potatoes, will you?”
And so they feasted, stuffing themselves senseless, drinking gallons of pumpkin juice, laughing the night away with old friends in the hope perhaps that new ones would be made as well. Summer vacations were discussed, Quidditch matches polled, old companions reunited, and Jae even mentioned off handedly he was going to take a first hand look at Filch’s list in order to update his buyers. All in all, it was a night to remember, so much so that amidst the merriment, David forgot about Ben’s odd behavior. However, that was only temporary.
The feast ended and Dumbledore ordered them to bed. Being second years, they no longer were required to hang back and wait for the guidance of a prefect. It was truly amazing what a one year difference could make. There would be no Angelica to lecture them this time, though no doubt she would have her eye on him and his friends this year.
Climbing up the last staircase that led to the Fat Lady, David attempted to make conversation with his muggle born friend.
“Hey, mate. Haven’t had a real chance to say hello yet. How was your summer?” he asked, tapping him on the shoulder.
“Hey, Dave. It was good. Not much to report, though. Took a holiday to Ireland.”
“Sounds fun. Wish I had gone out of the country. Mum won’t let me do much.”
“It was actually nice not to think about magic for a bit,” Ben admitted. “For my parents, this is still pretty new. Takes some getting used to, you know?”
“Yeah.”
David silently appraised him, trying his best not to act suspicious.
He seems perfectly fine. So why do I get the feeling that he’s not?
Instincts aside, he simply let the conversation peter out as they took over the second year dormitories and settled in for the night. But even trying to sleep through Charlie’s snores and Jae’s personal tinkering with an object he claimed off a Hufflepuff, David could not put away the combination of excitement and anxiety that rattled around in his mind.
He was back at Hogwarts, but as Dumbledore had hinted, they were in for more than a few surprises.

in a span of three months by @/viastro // i won't be surpprised if you've read this one already because this author is a true staple in the carat writing community and honestly all of their works are simple timeless. this one really hit the mark for the me the most though and i finished it all in one sitting.
wish by @chocosvt // goodness i'm a fan of hoshi fics aren't i? this one was also really memorable for me and i have read it several times!! friends to lovers but they really made the trope their own and added lots of twists and tadbits that gave it so much charm!! i would also rec this as a starter fic for svt :))

What do you think of the argument from Super's detractors going around lately that Dragon Ball should have gone the route of Yu Yu Hakusho, and not have had any continuation series or other new stories made of it after Z (or at least GT) ended?
I can understand why they would think that. But I would hate it if that were the case
I get why people would think that, the Dragon Ball manga is a classic and a great work of fiction. I can understand people wanting to keep it “Sacred” or whatever. Some series really do need to end at a certain point, and some franchises can go on forever, and it can be a problem when a company tries to take a series from the former category and make it into the latter, only to drive it into the ground. I’ve seen that happen with shows I’ve loved, so I get the concern people have.
I also don’t care in this particular case.
It’s not a case like Naruto, where the story devolved into garbage long before it could reach a satisfying conclusion. Dragon Ball has what is essentially a complete story from the start of the manga to Goku going off to train Uub at the end.
No matter what the franchise does afterwards, we’ll always have this great, classic story. I believe the only real way for it to be tarnished is for fans to let Dragon Ball be ruined FOR them. It’s the same reason I’m not so worked up over how SpongeBob’s quality went down after the first movie, because the first 3 seasons and the movie will always be great no matter what and fans are free to ignore what came after if they don’t enjoy it.
And the fact is… I WANT more content. I want more Dragon Ball shows. I want to see a series set after EoZ starring Uub and Pan. I want spin-offs. I want more movies and specials, side manga, video games, I want lots and lots of new stories!
I want to see more stories featuring all of Dragon Balls great characters. I want to see Android 17′s family, and some interaction between them and Krillin’s family. I want to see Tien being a martial arts instructor at his dojo. Toriyama said he’d like to do a gag manga starring Mr Satan and Majin Buu, and I’d like to see that. I want to see Marron fleshed out into a more interesting character, maybe have her become an accomplished fighter.
I want to see the new characters introduced in Super better fleshed out and given more stories to feature in. Give me a Pride Troopers anime. Give Jaco an ongoing series following on from his own short manga. Give us an OVA about the Kamikaze Fireballs or Katopesla or the Trio De Dangers. Give us a story where Vegeta and Goku get to visit plant Sadala in universe 6 already. Give Kale a backstory and flesh out her character better, fix some of the issues her writing had in the current saga. Give us a movie about Hit.
I want Dragon Ball to go on forever. I want to explore every character, every corner of the multiverse, every last bit of interesting story potential there is to offer. I want more lore, more development for a lot of characters, more slice of life stories and cute shippy moments like we’ve been getting in Super. I want more epic fights that make me throw my fist up into the air and go “WHOO!”
I want… I just want more.
Call me selfish. Call me greedy and inconsiderate or that I don’t have the series best interests in mind. (I do, for the record, I want this content to be GOOD and I am capable of being critical of stuff). But I don’t care.
I love Dragon Ball. It means more to me than any other series. The kind of joy and fulfillment it filled me with as a kid was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced from any other series I’ve watched or read since. And it’s always felt like a part of my soul has been missing in the time since i finished watching all three of the old anime as a kid, and it only came back when Battle of Gods and then Super itself became a thing.
I know Super is flawed, that it’s screwed some things up. but it’s also been the biggest source of comfort in my life for the last two years I’ve been keeping up with it.
Because i never really thought Dragon Ball would come back. Sure, before Battle of Gods we did get the occasional new content. The Yo! Son Goku and his Friends Return special for example (Which i always found underwhelming anyway), and some less than stellar ovas like Episode of Bardock and Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans. Dragon Ball SD was fun, I could never find most of the video games that came out last decade, especially since i didn’t have the means to buy things online until about Christmas 2013. And Kai was a thing, but that was just Dragon Ball Z minus the filler and with a much better dub. And for some stupid reason the Dragon Ball Heroes content still hasn’t made it’s way Westward.
But none of this stuff really satisfied me. I was still desperate for more. When i heard Battle of Gods was a thing it felt like a Godsend, even if it was frustrating to wait for the dvd to come out. But even then I didn’t expect we’d get an actual new series, with Resurrection F on the horizon I thought the occasional movie and special would be the best it was going to get. I can’t even tell you how happy I was when Super was announced.
So, I can’t relate to people who want Dragon ball to have just ended completely with Z. Because as much as I love the series and revisiting it, I’ve never been satisfied with the relative drought of content since i finished watching it. I don’t want Dragon ball to end, to go away, or be relegated to the occasional side media. I want to be drowned in new Dragon Ball content every year of my life.
I love other shows, games, movies, comics and manga, etc. There’s a lot of franchises that fill me with joy and make my troublesome mess of a life feel bearable and worthwhile. But none of them compare to Dragon Ball. My life would be a lot worse off if Super wasn’t a thing, if Dragon ball had just largely been left alone after Z or GT ended. heck, the main reason i hated GT so much is BECAUSE it tried to be a definitive end for the series while not telling any really worthwhile stories to me. And I don’t ever want to go back to waiting years at a time for scraps of content.
And luckily it doesn’t look like I’ll have to. We’ve been getting a lot more video games that I’ve really loved, like the Xenoverse Series, Fusions and FighterZ. We have a new movie to look forward to this year, and even with Super supposedly ending, that recent interview that Herms translated all but confirms that there WILL be a new Dragon Ball series coming up relatively soon, and that Toriyama has more plans for where he wants to take the story.
And the Dragon Ball Room is a thing now, showing that Toei is committed to producing as much new fun Dragon Ball content as possible into the foreseeable future, they’ve already given us Dragon Ball Fusions and that Reborn as Yamcha manga, both of which were enjoyable.
So, I’m very happy with how things are looking. Yeah, there are problems, but that’s to be expected. EVERY major franchise is going to have bad content from time to time, that’s to be expected. but it’s not the end of the world as long as we do continue to get good stuff, and honestly I’m actually pretty hopeful that Toei is going to take this brief hiatus with Super and learn from the mistakes they‘ve made to give the next Dragon Ball series a longer, better planned out production schedule so that the next series turns out as good as it can.
And if some people don’t like the recent content? They still have Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Those series and the manga are never going anywhere, they’re still as great as they’ve ever been. Sorry if those people can’t enjoy the recent stuff, i feel for them, but that some people inevitably won’t be satisfied is not going to stop me from being optimistic and looking forward to future content, because I’ve waited half my life for Dragon Ball to officially be back and I am going to make the most of it.
Argue all you want that I’m self-centred or that I’m wrong, but I don’t care. This is how I feel, I want Toei to make as much new Dragon Ball content as possible. So far I’m mostly happy with how things are going, and I don’t want things to slow down anytime soon.

Previous Part
Rhett couldn’t breathe. He stared at Link, his green eyes gazing over the man’s slightly reddened face, his dark hair hastily fixed back into place. It couldn’t be… The suspicion rapidly growing in his mind just couldn’t possibly be the truth. Surely it was just a coincidence that Link was coming out of the bathroom at the same time Twink182 was supposedly doing the same thing. Quickly Rhett recovered his composure and just gave his friend a pleasant smile as he followed him down the hall.
“Where you been, man?” he asked. A fair question. Even if Link hadn’t just been playing with himself in the bathroom just then, he had been gone a very long time.
“In -N- Out was crazy busy. I was barely able to get a table. Then there was a wreck on the freeway.” Link ran his hand nonchalantly through his hair. “I only just got back. What about you? You get a lot of work done?
“Not really,” Rhett admitted. “I uh, just came downstairs to get a drink.”
“Oh man, I’m so thirsty right now.” It was said so offhandedly that normally Rhett would have paid it no mind. Instead he unconsciously licked his lips.
‘I bet you are.’ Stepping into the kitchen Rhett didn’t say a word as he grabbed an empty glass from the cupboard. He knew he was being unusually quiet, but he couldn't help it. He was turning over the possibilities in his mind, remember every single dirty thing he ever typed out to Twink182. If he and Link really were the same person...
“Rhett?” Link suddenly asked, shaking Rhett from his inner confusion. Looking up all he could offer was a blank expression. “Were you listening?”
“Sorry, just… thinking about the song.” ‘Good enough.’
“I was just suggesting we call it a night for now,” Link said, leaning against the counter. “That dinner took way longer than I had hoped and I don’t know about you but I’m freak’n exhausted.”
‘I bet you are.’
“Sure,” Rhett said out loud. “Sounds good. You wanna pick up again Monday?” He really wanted some time to think about this, at least get his own suspicions in order.
“I was thinking we could get together tomorrow, actually,” Link suggested, sipping his water. “Maybe a change in scene might help. You could come over to my place.”
‘Like a date?’ was Rhett’s first thought. He violently shoved it aside, silently chastising himself. It was a crazy notion, even crazier than thinking that Link was actually Twink182. Yet he was hesitant to say yes to the invitation. For the first time in his life, Rhett feared what he might find over there. Of course, he felt stupid for the irrationality of that thought as well. Even if Link was Twink182 which he knew couldn’t possibly be so, it’s not like he’d leave his sex toys and fancy panties out for anyone to see. ‘He’d be more likely using them.’ Another rouge thought, this one leaving Rhett with images of Link in those silk panties on, a toy in his behind.
“Or your place, if you’d prefer?”
‘Crap.’ Rhett hadn’t meant to zone out again and Link was starting to get suspicious of his strange behavior. ‘Say you have plans, say you can’t make it. Whatever you do, don’t say yes.’
“Yeah, sure.” ‘Goddamn it.’
“Great! I’ll come around noon-ish. I’ll bring lunch.” With one last devilishly handsome smile, Link strode out of the kitchen. Rhett watched him go, unable to keep his eyes from that perfectly pert behind. Of course, he tried to get a good look at Link’s butt whenever he could, but this time he was also checking to see if there was a noticeable bump down there; maybe something there that shouldn’t be. There was no sign, just a wonderful view of an ass that never seemed to quit.
‘Calm down. It’s just Link,’ he reminded himself. ‘It’s not Twink182. There’s just no way.’ At the very least, it was highly unlikely, and he didn’t want to jump to conclusions. Surely there had to be some way to find out for sure without directly asking him. After all, if he just came out and asked Link and he wasn’t Twink182…. Rhett really didn’t want to have to explain why he was asking, or worse tell him who Twink182 was and what they had been up to. He’d never be able to live it down, or forgive himself.
~
That evening Rhett sat before his computer, staring at the IM icon on his computer’s desktop. During his drove home he had convinced himself that Twink182, a stranger he had only known for only a few months, and Link, his best friend of thirty plus years, couldn’t possibly be the same person. The chances were just too low. He tried to relax, and put the idea out of his head, but he just couldn’t do it. Staring at his computer, Rhett felt more nervous than when he had started this unlikely relationship. Shame was swelling deep in his chest and it wouldn’t go away.
‘Link would never have sex over the internet,’ he told himself. ‘He would never say those filthy things, or use a butt plug or wear panties.’ With a sigh of relief, Rhett nodded unconsciously. His best friend was one of the goofiest people he had ever known, and together they had done many a strange thing both on and off screen, but Rhett knew it was all for comedy. Deep down Link was straight and relatively normal. Not this kinky Twink182 guy. No. They were two different people and that was that.
Signing into IM, Rhett took in a deep breath and let it out. He told himself he was being silly for nothing, and there was no reason for fear. Even if this guy was Link he didn’t know Rhett was Rhett. No names had been shared, no delicate details or and information that could reveal his identity. He was completely safe. If things got rough he could always break it off, end it, and that would be that.
He didn’t want it to end.
BigRed84 is online
Twink182: Hey baby
Twink182: Missed you ;)
‘Oh god, what if this is Link? This can’t be Link. This might be Link.’
BigRed84: Hey
Twink182: Did you miss me? Today was amazing. I know I only came a few hours ago but I’m getting hard just thinking about it
‘He’s not Link. He’s not Link. He’s not Link.’
BigRed84: I’ve never done that in public before. I mean no one was there but still. That was crazy.
Twink182: Crazy good though right? I came so hard just from your texts omg
Twink182: Is my turn? You want me to make you come baby?
Normally Rhett would be all for it. It had been a thrill, and he usually enjoyed how Twink182 talked to him, making him hot and bothered with just words on a screen, but this time was different.
BigRed84: Can we just talk?
It was a big risk. They had talked very little outside of just sex conversations and Rhett wasn’t sure if Twink182 would be the type of guy to just talk. Maybe all he wanted out of this relationship was sex, or he wasn’t comfortable having more in depth conversations. It took a few minutes for him to respond to Rhett’s question, during which Rhett was certain he had made the wrong call.
Twink182: Having second thoughts about us?
‘Crap, that’s not what I meant.’ Although, to be fair, that’s exactly what Rhett was doing: having second thoughts… and third ones and fourth ones…
BigRed84: Don’t you ever have second thoughts about whatever this is?
Twink182: Sometimes
Twink182: If I’m honest
Twink182: But without you I’d probably go crazy
BigRed84: I thought I drive you crazy
Twink182: That too ;)
Twink182: Seriously though
Twink182: I kinda need this
‘Link….’
‘Not Link. Not Link.’
BigRed84: You know that guy I told you about? That cute coworker of mine?
Twink182: The brunet with chiseled jaw and great ass? Yeah, I remember :p
‘Did I really say that? I guess I did.’
Twink182: You worried what he’ll think if he found out about us?
BigRed84: Very. But it’s not just that
BigRed84: I’m kinda in love with him
Twink182: You and I are in the same boat
Twink182: The hot guy at work I like. We’ve been friends forever but he has no clue how I feel
Rhett bit his lip, his heart racing faster before he could blink an eye. Did Link like him as more than just a friend? How long had this been going on? How long had he felt this way?
‘Not Link. Not Link.’
BigRed84: Really?
Twink182: How perfect is this? Two kinky gay guys in love with their hot straight coworkers and we just happen to find each other? It’s fucked up and I love it
BigRed84: You ever think about telling him how you feel?
Twink182: All the time
Twink182: But what good would that do? He’s straight. It would only make things weird.
Twink182: What about you? You ever tell your guy?
‘How much I lust after him? How much I want to be with him?
How much I’ve always loved him?’
BigRed84: I guess I always thought I’d disgust him. That’s it would just push him away
BigRed84: I’d rather spend my life with him not knowing than not be with him at all
Twink182: Same
Twink182: I can’t imagine my life without him
Twink182: But I’m a guy and I have needs. I’m not looking for a committed relationship here
Twink182: Just some fun
BigRed84: Fair enough
BigRed84: Glad we cleared that up
Twink182: Wanna play now?
BigRed84: I got early thing in the morning. Tomorrow night?
Twink182: I might be working, but I’ll let you know
BigRed84: Goodnight Twinky
Twink182: Night Red :)
~
The next day Rhett was a totally wreck. No matter how hard he tried he couldn’t make a final decision about Twink182. He wasn’t Link, but he could be, and if he was Link had he been harboring feelings for Rhett? For how long? Of course other than the coincidence of the bathroom, there was absolutely no proof that Link was the guy Rhett had been secretly having online sex with, but maybe it wasn’t proof that was was making it hard to discount the possibility. Hope. It was the hope that was blooming in his heart. Hope that Link could feel that way about him. Hope that they could be together like… that. It was a small spark, a tiny glimmer in Rhett’s heart, but it was stronger than any facts in his brain, and he clung to it like a life preserver.
It was a little after eleven that Link showed up at Rhett’s house, a bag of burgers in hand, ready to work on their song for Buddy System. He had such a smile on his face that Rhett felt his heart soar. No matter what ever happened in his life to leave him confused, scared or worried, Link was there. He was always there, always capable of cheering him up just by being nearby.
‘God, I love this man.’
“Hey, Rhett! You ready to buckle down and get this song finished?”
“You bet.” Stepping back to let Link pass by, Rhett had to consciously restrain himself from just grabbing him and planting a kiss on him then and there. It wouldn’t have been the first time he’d had just instinctive desires, but it had been awhile since he’d almost failed to stop himself. Link looked so good today, better than usual, or maybe that was just Rhett’s imagination?
After downing the burgers and fries, the two men set down in Rhett’s living room. Link opened up his laptop to what lyrics he had managed to cobble together so far while Rhett grabbed up his guitar to play the chords he had thought up the day before. It was just like old times, as if nothing had changed, and for the next few hours it was. Rhett completely forgot about Twink182, and how he and Link might be the same person. He just focused on the music and hanging out with his best friend. It was simple, it was easy, and more than anything it was comfortable. It hadn’t expected it to be, with all of his suspicions before. Instead everything was just fine for most of the day.
It was late when Link started checking his watch. Rhett didn’t notice it at first, but the later the hour the more often he glanced at the time. It took him a moment to remember that he had made plans with Twink182 yesterday. If Link was indeed that man, it would make sense that he was eager to get going.
“You got a date or something?” Rhett ventured. Link looked up, startled, before showing off his famous crooked smile.
“Maybe. I’m allowed to date, aren’t I?”
“Uh, y-yeah. Sure,” Rhett managed, thrown a bit by Link’s answer. “I didn’t know you were seeing anyone.”
“Nothing serious. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you; I’m not sure where it’s going just yet.”
“No, s’fine. Just surprised…. That you didn’t tell me, that is.” His heart felt a fair bit heavier suddenly and the air in the room tasted much more stale. “You can do whatever you want.” The next few seconds felt like hours and while Rhett knew he should let it go, he had to know more. “Anyone I know?”
“I doubt it,” Link answered, looking down at his computer and not really paying attention. “We met online.”
“That’s a little weird, right?” Rhett probed, trying to be delicate. To his surprise Link glared at him, sitting back in a huff.
“You know, things aren’t like they were in North Carolina, Rhett,” he started. “People meet people over the internet all the time. It doesn’t make us weird.”
“I never said you were weird-”
“See, this is why I didn’t tell you. I knew you were going to get all judgmental.” Slamming his laptop shut, Link got to his feet.
“I’m not being judgmental, man!” Rhett held his arms out, pleading, as he tried to figure out why Link was flipping out so much. “I’m just asking if you thought it was weird.”
“No, you’re trying to tell me you think it’s weird. Well, it’s not. It’s perfectly lovely.”
“Alright, alright. Don’t have a fit.” Fit was an understatement; Link was practically fuming. Apparently Rhett had struck a nerve.
“I should get going anyhow,” Link stated, packing up his things. Rhett wanted to stop him, he really did, but he couldn’t think of anything that would make him stay. Nothing that didn’t betray what he knew, or what he thought he knew. Maybe Link just needed to blow off some steam. They had fought many times in the past. Link wouldn’t be angry forever.
“Alright. I’m sorry I upset you.” Rhett got to his feet, ready to walk his friend to the door. His expression of apology did give Link pause, but he had to follow through now. Backing down wasn’t in his nature.
“It’s late, we’re both tired. I think we should take tomorrow off, start fresh on Monday.”
“Sounds good, buddy.” Arms open wide, Rhett called Link in for a goodbye hug and after a moment’s hesitation, the brunet accepted it gladly. ‘I love you.’ Rhett wanted to stay in that hug forever, but he knew eventually he had to let go. His only solace as he watched his best friend, the love of his life, head out into the night, was that no matter what happened, he would always come back. ‘If nothing else, best friends forever.’

I’ve seen this quote about four, five times this week. Have you seen it before? Well I had, but I hadn’t quite thought about it… So as I walked (stalked) around the places I lifted it from, to check what it means according to the people that had put it up, I found out its synonymous with saying I am a better person around or with my friends… Or, my friends are my support system , or I love my friends because they believe in me etcetera . So I wondered wow, how lucky of them to already have zee clique that slays together works together and every thing else buds should do for each other for life. I also wondered if these people’s friends knew each other. In the sense is it a squad that met in Uni or highschool or are they from different backgrounds etc but meet only because of their mutual friend ? I watched an interview by Janet Mbugua once when she was talking about the circle she runs in, where she said that her friends haven’t quite changed since her teens and that is her friendships with her mates are 5years plus. I’ve seen guys from my highschool that have kept tabs with each other . Some are still very close through uni to graduation mind you even while studying from different schools. So I was thinking about my case lol… So, I know a guy I grew up with that I still talk to, but my clique of friends changes almost yearly. Recently my mantra has been you win some you lose some that helps me comfort myself for suffering from this “I don’t keep friends deficiency” In primo I disconnected with my friends who mind you we’d kosanad before it ended (blame it mostly on adolescence and having countable cute guys in our class) Then came highschool I had new friends yearly. After highschool , I disconnected with most of my classmates broke up with the clique I was supposedly in , but I think it was the case of go your separate way, after like five months of talking here and there . Well that’s understandable since Uni comes in and life gets busy ey? So now the friends I kept talking with like through the years stopped existing ( and they were just two) So anyway we got to Uni and your roommates are your first friends. You imagine its going to be forever since first experience s are shared with them, including pregnancy scares, alchohol poisoning and some good things like visiting one another (just to squeeze a virtue in all those vices) Thats how close my roommates and I were but it barely survived through Uni to await its murder by the serial killer DISTANCE. Drama came through, from not being individually mature to not being tolerant and things like that. So my mantra became “shout out to those friends that you dont talk to but when ya’ll meet there’s nothing but luvv” since through my experiences I have understood that friendships don’t last if ya’ll are too close which is a paradox because you’re friends with some one that you can be free and close with, then again it contradicts my other theory of friendships can’t surpass distance but I want my friendships to thrive with distance in between. Aaaargh it confuses me even! Now I’m looking to get new friends next semester 😅 hopefully for the last time. Are there people out there like me?
