i watched metal lords last night (highly recommend) and there was a scene of the metalhead character getting his hair cut by bullies and he owns it by giving himself a badass one sided shaved haircut and i can’t stop thinking about that with eddie

jason and his cronies pining him down and chopping his hair off with a pair of kitchen scissors. it’s messy, uneven, and fucking ugly. and eddie is devastated—his hair meant so much to him. it was one of the only things he had total control of, and now it was ruined.

but steve doesn’t let him beat himself up about it. sure, they’ll have to do something drastic to fix it, but eddie doesn’t have to let go of what he owns. so steve goes to the store with eddie and they buy a brand new clipper and spend all night fixing eddie’s hair from a disaster to a totally metal look. and when eddie shows up around town the next day and sees jason and his friends, they’re shocked that eddie still has an aura of courage surrounding him. he’s still got his look, still got his confidence, and it truly proves that nothing those assholes can do will take away his pride.
