Closing thoughts on Delicious Party Precure
(spoilers)
This ended up being a thoroughly meh season without that many strong points, but at least it didn't have disastrous flaws either.
I've seen some takes that the season was repetitive with the food theme, and while I agree to some extent, as far as I can see every Precure episode in every season is pretty repetitive so that's nothing new, and I can appreciate that the season had a distinct and memorable theme in the first place. And I think the food spirits are cute.
Meanwhile the other plot elements felt somewhat disjointed, like all the mascots have a similar design but only one of them gets a progressively older human form? And also a super special time travel power? And then they just didn't bother to write a mascot for Amane so she just stares awkwardly at nothing when everyone else says their teary goodbyes to their partners in the ending. Also the Lucky Cat statues were vital in the finale but I don't think they were set up enough for that level of importance (or maybe they were, it's not a secret that I don't pay full attention to Precure episodes so maybe this one is just on me).
There were no standout Cures for me this season, Kokone was my fave but I don't think I'll be thinking of her much after the season is over, Ran was teetering on the edge of being annoying, and Amane felt like a watered down version of Eas/Setsuna. Overall having the dark Cure being brainwashed into villainy is kind of a lame plot element if you ask me, there's no drama in turning her to the good side if she was never actually with the bad guys in the first place. And Yui was a super bland heroine to me, she's not the worst pink Cure ever but I struggle to think of anything interesting about her either. Or her relationship with her late grandma was sweet, but I think that's less about her and more about how a close relationship to a dead granny would make any character more lovable.
The villain captains didn't have a lot going for them either, though I did like the running joke how one of them thought their motto was lame. And his tragic backstory was that he felt excluded because he was unable to enjoy food together, and the solution is that the heroes push him into eating anyway and he conveniently likes it this time? That doesn't sound great. As for the main villain, at first I thought that his story of bitterness about feeling slighted by his furry mentor felt random and unrelated to the rest of the themes of the show, but then again sharing food was a major theme and his master plan was not to share any because he was left without as a kid, so alright that checks out.
Rosemary for best character but unfortunately he didn't get to do enough, though to be fair his portrayal was in line with other Precure major supporting characters so it's not really a flaw in this season specifically. Black Pepper was good too, the male characters had to carry the show for me this time around. Though it did feel a little weird how the Cures ended up being somewhat bystanders in the main story, when the most important character drama involving your main villain was between the men.
Also while I did like Black Pepper, that was only when not in relation to Yui because I really did not like their romance. This also isn't really a dig at DeliParty because "serious boy is not-so-secretly in love with the oblivious cheerful shoujo heroine" is a trope I do not enjoy in general. But even if I don't care for the ship, this kind of open endings where we're supposed to find it charming that the heroine remains oblivious really don't appeal to me either. Make them a couple or have her turn him down, or at least end with her understanding his feelings but saying she needs more time to figure out her own, I don't think this non-resolution is cute at all.
Overall this is going to rank pretty low on my Precure list, but at least things are looking up because I'm super excited for Hero Time next season!

My Reviews of Delicious Party Pretty Cure Henshin
The show is ending today I’m gonna write this review about the Pretty Cure henshin again! This time is the food themed Delicious Party Pretty Cure! Wait, did we already had food-themed series in the franchise before? Yes, but it is more than just sweets like KiraKira did.
Series-wise it’s rather mediocre, it has many interesting ideas and retaking some from the older series but the execution aren’t good enough to make it work as a highly appreciated series, especially with some end up being too repetitive. The distribution of the character development is pretty messy too, but thankfully not as harsh as HealinGood as they did focus on the main story and theme (though I had to agree with @mahou-furbies for some being disjointed, but HealinGood didn’t develop it too well either, especially towards the second half). And the ending is similar to TropicaRouge: no timeskip but there’s a special ending for the final episode and a stinger featuring Hirogaru Sky lead Cure. And among all Pretty Cure in the franchise it has the most ridiculous naming arrangement for the Cures, even surpassing Heartcatch in that matter. I already made a post of how weird this is so you might as well check it out.
But what makes the cherry on the top is the transformation. Let’s be clear, at first I had low expectations of the henshin given how underwhelming the previous quartet team has with the animation (almost all Cures in that series, anyway) and oh boy I was stunned by this series’ henshin! I’m gonna explain why it’s better than HealinGood but let’s jump into the Cures first before going on as a whole.
Before we start let’s Stand By first! You know that as I’m Indonesian, rice is the most common food on the dish, I like not only chocolate bread but also flavors like coconut, raisin and with colorful sprinkles on it, I really like noodles but nowadays I only eat it occasionally, and finally I like sweets such as cookies and wafers but often in chocolate while my most favorite fruits are apple, grape, orange, banana, rambutan and durian. Apologize for my random rambles, but this is important as all of the Cures are based on these. Ready? Then Sharing Energy we go!
Cure Precious
First off, do you remember Cure Summer? Yup, Yui alias Precious is animated by the same animator who created the previous lead! As it’s bouncy and amazing, it’s enough to make her one of the best transformation among the pink Cures! Just look at this animation.
Cure Spicy
Now this one’s pretty weird. The most developed among the team but having this name on her alter ego makes me hard to like Kokone. Anyway, this bread-themed Cure has a good animation, but I think it’s fine especially when thinking about how it represents a fluffy bread. As for how her catchphrase is pretty similar structure to another Cure, I’ll let the above link to explain it to you.
Even if her henshin isn’t as impressive as Precious, she’s the best among the ‘transformation complete’ part. I mean, how can they rotate the angle like that?!
Cure YumYum
The first Cure named after Japanese onomatopoeia, and hers is pretty slow and standard, and almost all of the dressing part is in one scene. But it’s still okay, at least it represent noodles and it’s not at HealinGood’s level (thinking back about it, the main trio’s henshin are too simple...) My favorite part is her doing somersault for 'transformation part'.
Though her second pose is cute, she didn’t had to bend her head like that...
Cure Finale
Thankfully not the final Cure on the whole Pretty Cure franchise... Jokes aside, her transformation music is totally different than the other three which is unexpected to me the first time I watch it and her henshin is very amazing as Precious did. But she lags a bit with the cutted frames (you know, like what they did to Fontaine) and the tiara glaze aren’t pretty clear until it ‘pings’ into existence. However, she has some other differences too, like how she talks thrice mid-transformation, and how her hair changes before changing her dress pattern on her glaze. And the beginning definitely shows her confidence and the pre-roll call part has her representation of how she’s finally freed from her villain life that we wish to know why did that happened, but oh well.
Though all Cures with gradual transformation would had a leg part pinging into existence, she is the first to lack these at all. My guess is she's not floating in the air like the other three or the skirt part is happened at the same time as the shoes...
If you did consider Finale as either white, gold, or rainbow Cure, then she had similarities with Cure Twinkle in terms of henshin background. But oddly, her aura is purple despite the purple part is less and lighter shade, but I can assume that gold (her official theme color) is at the same shade as yellow, so they need to make it purple to make her distant to YumYum even though the latter is more orange than yellow. (I think I’m gonna start to recognize Sunny from Smile and YumYum as the former given that there’s Cure Wing in the next series...) And it keeps like that too even when her power-up form lessens her purple and add more white on it...
Also a side note: She shares the same name as the one in Waccha PriMagi in the same year but while this Amane is elegant, PriMagi!Amane is boyish and flamboyant that almost everyone would mistook her for a male character. It’s a good anime that sadly has no sequel as of yet...
Team and Power-Up
Okay, we covered all the Cures, let’s check on how they handle the transformation. For the main trio, this is the first to had split-screen with no extra space like HealinGood did. Also, they’re standing on the platform that resemble their symbols. If you remember the Heart Cure Watch attacks, then you’ll know what their motifs are. For Yui/Precious, there’s triangle like the onigiri (a Japanese rice ball), Kokone/Spicy has circles which is one of the common shapes of a bread (mainly my favorite chocolate bread), Ran/YumYum has lines which is reasonable since that’s what noodles are normally shaped. Amane/Finale, though? She doesn’t had a platform since she uses an item rather than transformation mascot in order to do so.
Wait, transformation mascot?! Yes, this is the third in the Pretty Cure series to had a mascot without becoming items themselves like Communes, but with the lack of collectibles which is usually a norm to the franchise, this is the first series where the mascot IS the transformation item. They simply need to flip and become the food mode they represent, then the Cures do some various actions depending on the mascot. For example, Yui needs to ‘knead’ Kome-Kome in her riceball form in order to process the energy needed to send a power-up food to Yui.
Power-Up Food? Well, that was one of the most appropriate example among TVTropes. To start the transformation, they need to eat the food glaze send by the mascot in order to change their hairstyle. Speaking of which, the other series where hair came first before the outfit were DokiDoki!, Happiness Charge, TropicaRouge, and possibly Hirogaru Sky from what I seen in the commercial videos in Twitter. This is also the fourth series where their hair change was occured through special way (like GoPri putting their tiara, StarTwi drawing their accessories, and TropicaRouge spread the magic through their hair by stylus).
And to make things even better, the mascots help the Cure to dress up! Yes, this is super important! They learned from what happened in HealinGood and improved upon it. Even if characterization-wise HealinGood mascots are better, DeliPa mascots excel on transformation process. Not to mention the Cures had the control over the henshin too.
If you wonder why Amane wasn’t explained much until this point, it’s because she doesn’t had a transformation mascot and instead letting a pendant do it for her, activated by treating it like a tambourine to create a power-up food for her.
As a Pretty Cure there has to be a roll call, but this time they had two lines than one! If you want a recap, this is the third series to had these two lines after DokiDoki! and Go! Princess. DokiDoki! is infamous of having Cure Heart conquer this most of the time (the other four seldom use it, only done at least twice), which Go! Princess manages to avoid depending on which character is focused in that episode. For DeliPa, there’s the usual Cure name, and anything related to gourmet while posing on their symbol (similar to the platform for the main trio, for Finale she poses like a teacup). They did it better than those two as all had the chance to say it, but for this stock footage-heavy series it can get very lengthy and repetitive, and some fans like me might get bored. And they didn’t tone it down to just Cure name at all! I know it’s a kid’s show but still...
While this series is one of the few series to had transformation dress that will become their Cure outfit. Usually the Cures will had at least two of them wearing the same type of outfit with the only differences being the theme color. DeliPa, however, doesn’t. Their transformation dress are completely different than the others! I had render all of them on this post so you might check it if you want.
And with the surprisingly top tier henshin, however, there’s some downsides. There’s a SFX when the Cures interact with their mascot after doing their verbal tic (‘Kome!’ ‘Pamu!’ and ‘Mem!’). But the talking part was muted when together then the SFX too when Amane is added. I like the split-screen henshin but that’s the main negative point that often happened in other Pretty Cure series with split-screen if the SFX was different than others.
Another downside is the group pose after transforming and roll call. Seriously, the team pose is among the worst in the whole franchise. They make a different preparation poses before they went into bossy poses with least movement possible. At least they had their mouth closed after 4 years of full team with open mouth that I barely like (but I’m fine with TropicaRouge as one of its main theme was motivation so it makes sense).
For Party Up Style power-up, the pose after transforming is better than normal one but it still falls under ‘a power boost with almost no out-of-stock-footage’ category, but there’s one scene above from the final episode for this power-up so it’s not a total loss for that. And it happens really fast that you might miss it if you don’t pay attention. Oh, and it’s activated through Kome-Kome’s mature form. (Now that I think about it, why ExcellenTropical Style and this series’ Party Up Style are all in the same pose in their own profile?)
For the movie part that I did watch, there’s Children’s Lunch power-up transformation that is good and more detailed than Party Up Style, and they do it for more than just power boost for final attack, they can fight too even it happens briefly.
Well, we’re almost wrapped up with the review, and here’s my overall rankings of DeliPa henshin, with the best at number 1:
Precious
Finale
Spicy
YumYum
That warps up my summary and review about DeliPa. Let’s get hyped for Hirogaru Sky and see you in my next post!

Diabolik Lovers LOST EDEN ー Subaru Maniac [07]
CHAPTER MASTERLIST
ー The scene starts at the guest room in Banmaden
Kou: M-neko-chan, here’s the wet cloth you asked for.
Yui: Thanks, Kou-kun.
Azusa: ...Has Subaru-san woken up yet...?
Yui: No, not yet...
Azusa: Eve...
Kou: Don’t worry, he just wore himself out a little, that’s all. I’m sure he’ll wake up soon enough.
Yui: Yeah.
( Right. He isn’t severely injured or anything... )
( He should wake up after he rests up a little. )
( ...Still... )
ー Yui recalls what happened earlier
Subaru: Oi, Carla!
You can talk shit ‘bout me all you want. But I won’t let you speak ill of my mom!
Nor ‘bout the woman over there.
Yui: ( Me...? )
Subaru: She isn’t some kind of tool for you fuckers to abuse so you can continue your bloodline.
Don’t you dare look down on her by callin’ her a fuckin’ ‘offering’!
ー The flashback ends
Yui: ( I can’t believe he was upset not because of what was said about himself, but about Christa-san and I... )
( Subaru-kun really is such a sweetheart. )
ー Shin enters the room
Shin: You really had me sweating earlier, fearing Banmaden might get destroyed.
However, it seems like Nii-san has made up his mind after what happened just now.
Yui: Does that mean...?
Subaru: Nn...
Yui: Subaru-kun! You’ve regained consciousness.
*Rustle*
Subaru: Where am I...?
Kou: You lost consciousness, so we carried you to your room.
Subaru: I see...
Shin: Perfect timing. I’m about to make a very important announcement, so inform your Vampire friends of this as well.
Nii-san has decided he will work together with you guys.
Subaru: Hah...!?
Shin: I guess he acknowledged your powers?
We’re leaving tomorrow, so you better start getting everything ready.
...Haah.
ー Shin leaves the room again
Kou: We’ll go and inform Ruki-kun and Yuma-kun of his decision as well, okay?
Yui: Yes, if you’d please.
Azusa: ...Take care, Subaru-san...
Subaru: ...I guess things turned out alright for now?
Yui: Yup.
Subaru: ...
You’ve been pullin’ strings behind the scenes again, haven’t you?
Yui: Eh? Well...
Selection
→ Dodge the question
Yui: ...What are you talking about?
Subaru: Don’t play dumb! He gave me a weird look at the end, didn’t you see!?
It’s obvious you said somethin’ to him!
Yui: ( Uu...He’s sharp... )
→ Answer upfront (❦)
Yui: ( I’m sure he’s talking about... )
Yui: ( Before the happenings on the rooftop garden, Carla-san actually summoned me. That’s what he’s referring to, right? )
I only replied to Carla-san’s question.
He wanted to know what it is you treasure the most.
Subaru: Haah...
No wonder the strange look on that guy’s face back then.
...I’m glad it worked out, but in the end it seems like I had to rely on you for everything.
Yui: That’s not true.
Subaru: ...
ー The scene shifts to the Vibora’s castle
Kino: ーー Seems like the Vampires and the Founders have formed an alliance.
Yuuri: Is that true?
Kino: This is bad news for us.
Yuuri: What shall we do?
Kino: Hmー ...I guess I’ll have no other choice.
ーー Arrange an audience with the Church.
Yuuri: At once.
Kino: Those Founders will be entrusted with a very important task once I become the Supreme Overlord after all.
The absolutely vital duty of silencing all other Demons, that is.
ー The scene shifts back to the guest room at Banmaden
Yui: ( Okay, I’ve packed my stuff, so I should be good to go. )
( I’m glad Subaru-kun is feeling better as well. )
Subaru: Oi, Yui.
Seems like we’re hittin’ the road soon.
Yui: Ah, sure! I’ll be right there.
Subaru: ...Say.
Yui: Hm?
Subaru: ...Thanks, for everythin’.
Yui: ...I only did the obvious.
Come on, let’s go.
ー The screen fades to black
Yui: ( I’m truly glad we’ve got the Founders to back us up now. )
( This is all thanks to Subaru-kun’s hard work. )
( All I did was support him. )
Monologue
And so, we got ourselves,
a very reliable ally (見方) on our side.
And all of this is thanks to
Subaru-kun and his efforts,
to try and come to peace,
with Karlheinz-san’s powers.
I want to do even more for him (彼の力 ) ーー
After what happened at Banmaden,
said desire inside of me.
has only grown stronger.
ーー TO BE CONTINUED ーー

if fate permits
⤷ chapter nineteen: when it's too late
previous < masterpost > next
YN'S POV
ATSUMU'S POV
TWO DAYS LATER...
[THE FOUR IDIOTS’ APARTMENT, 6:55PM]
Kiyoomi only watched as your eyes became melancholier, as if it were not already in the first place, the longer you stared at the screen of his phone. Probably rereading his conversation with Atsumu, he thinks. Initially, he wasn’t really planning on showing it to you but just like any other day, you decided to be the whipped soulmate (or more like an idiot, at least to him) you were, all while saying “Atsumu is important to me, should I really leave this apartment while not making amends with him?” He almost retched, is this girl really fixated on becoming a saint? How could someone be this lenient? He has no idea. And so, he showed you– that even after all this time, the piss-haired boy will remain as he is; that no matter how many years may pass, Miya Atsumu will be Miya Atsumu.
And he was the exact opposite of you: he was self-centered, conceited, prideful, juvenile, and so many more that it would take Kiyoomi more than a day to list all the things he detested from the boy. He can only remember how much he loathed the boy upon their first proper meeting; not that he likes meeting new people anyway. Kiyoomi was no genius but he knew, right at that moment, that Atsumu was far from being the ‘knight-in-shining-armor’ soulmate his dearest sister was so engrossed to have.
Kiyoomi also knew that he was not the best brother in the world; hell, he is way too far from being a good one even. He couldn’t care less if you have an admirer from afar (like that Iwaizumi who seems to be around you all the time these days), nor when you finally get yourself a suitable boyfriend, not even when you finally get wedded to someone. He wasn’t overprotective... or at least that’s what he believed. But he was only human, after all– now that he contemplates about it, he realizes that he isn’t really fond of seeing you cry.
“Stop hurting yourself over and over again, you fool of a sister,” he said, clicking his tongue afterwards and grabbing your bags after hearing your father call from downstairs, “Know your worth a little, will you? It’s kind of painful for me to watch you get hurt too, you know. It’s not just mom and dad.”
And with that, he left the room, leaving you to tend to your other belongings and perhaps, say goodbye to this little house that managed to etch itself to your heart. Compared to your childhood home, it wasn’t enough to make you sob your heart out dry. But for some reason, tears still found its way on the corner of your eyes as you remembered the fond memories you’ve made here with your boys – the moment you stumbled upon this house when you four were trying to find a place to stay, the smile on your face when you decided that this was the one (cue Atsumu literally hauling you three towards the agent to settle the down payment), the moving day when Kiyoomi and Osamu brawled for the first time in their lives because they both wanted that bedroom that was the only one downstairs, “to be away from the idiot disease” as what they said. You can only wonder if you could make new memories as happy as those in your future home.
“Ah… you really are a fool of a sister, YN,” you whispered to yourself, wiping the tears away and getting the last of your things before proceeding downstairs, finding your father standing by the front door, arms crossed with a face mask adorning his face (you never really questioned where your brother got his traits, it was as clear as the day), “Kiyoomi is already in the car but I think you should bid Osamu-kun a proper farewell first. He’s in the kitchen. We’ll be waiting so just take your time.”
You nodded before proceeding to the said area, finding the gray-haired with his arms already wide open. Your lips quivered before jumping at him, “I’m gonna miss you.”
“We’ll still be seeing each other at school, you damn gorilla,” he chuckled before burying his face in your neck. You clicked your tongue, pouting at his very much realistic reply, “But it’s different! Eating breakfasts together, going to school together, going home together… and drinking wine until we’re brains out! I’m pretty sure my dad won’t let me do that at his house!”
He cackled, releasing you from his hold and flicking you on your forehead, “what an alcoholic woman! Are you sure you’re going to be a student in a prestige university abroad? You’ll be left behind by your classmates if you keep on prioritizing your wines before your studies.”
“Hah! You’ll see, Osamu. Those red wines will be the reason I even become one of the most famous writers in the world. You better wait and I’ll release an autobiography saying a man named Miya Osamu used to bully me to death,” you huffed, smirking after you saw him stare at you in disbelief. Your smile gradually disappeared upon the realization that the center of your heart was not home… even when I’m already leaving, huh?
Osamu frowned as well, scratching the back of his neck because of the sudden silence that indicated your little recognition, “I’m sorry. I told him to go home before 7 but…”
“It’s fine, Samu. We’re still not in the best terms so it’s probably better this way – a more peaceful way of farewell, you know? No fighting or anything else. Besides, I couldn’t tell him anything about my moving, scholarship, and so many things,” The lad didn’t miss the way you quickly wiped your tears away though. Damn you, Atsumu, why are you always making her cry, he thought.
“I’ll see you at school then, Samu. I’ll miss the dinners you cook,” you smiled, walking quietly outside, and shutting the front door. At the same time, a chime resonated from your phone that was in your pocket. Opening it, you released a long sigh… of relief? of anxiety? You didn’t know.
[Haji, 7:15PM]: I did it, YN. My thread, it’s… black.
You looked up at the night sky, finding stars twinkling as if they were gazing back at you.
Should I start moving on too, Haji?
[TOKYO UNIVERSITY GYMNASIUM, 7:20PM]
For the umpteenth time this week, Atsumu heaved yet another deep sigh, hands weaving itself with his hair to ruffle it out of frustration. Today, he couldn’t care less about the girls lurking around the university gym… because for the umpteenth time this week as well, his twin brother expressed his disappointment towards the boy, leaving him in the said place with the same words he had uttered yesterday and even the day before that, accompanied by a threat this time: “You’re such an immature asshole I wouldn’t be surprised if YN finally gives up on being your friend. You better come home before 7PM or else, I will drag you by your feet with my own two hands.”
Clicking his tongue, he grabbed another ball, gripping it so hard his nails almost left a dent on it. 7PM? He only scoffs. No, he won’t go home yet. He doesn’t care if Osamu gets furious at him and drags him nor if you give up on your friendship; all he thinks right now is that he wants to spike this ball straight onto the other side of the court, make it burst if it was even possible. It wasn’t his fault he got mad at you, he’s entitled to his feelings; he’s right, Kiyoomi’s mistaken… you shouldn’t have promised something you would just break in a span of less than thirty seconds. You shouldn’t hav–
But is it really her fault though? A voice in his head refuted him, or is it just because you’re really an immature asshole who can’t be happy for her?
Of course, it’s her fault, he argues. Immature? Him? He’s almost twenty-two, for god’s sake! He has been living in this world for more than two decades, how could Osamu call him underdeveloped? He swears he’s going to give his twin brother a good punch or two once he gets home.
… But she’s just trying to reach for her dreams, why are you not supporting her? She always does that when it comes to you, doesn’t she? Or have you already forgotten?
And at that, everything went perfectly still. The sound of the ball falling from his hands resonated throughout the quiet gym. Even with just hearing words from something or someone he can’t even identify, Atsumu felt as if he was hit on his head with a ton of bricks.
“E-eh…? W-why… why am I crying?” He whispered, fingers going up to touch his cheeks and furrowing his eyebrows when he felt the dampness of the said area.
Because you know you don’t deserve her. You know that it’s your fault. It has ALWAYS been your fault.
“Shut up,” he said to no one, plopping down the floor while he clutched his ears this time to shut the voice out. As it kept talking, he tried hitting his head with his hand, tried talking over it, tried retorting savage remarks back; however, everything was futile for it kept talking, kept torturing his mind with nothing but the truth.
You hurt her, then apologize, then do it again. What are you playing, a tug-of-war? How selfish of you, Miya Atsumu! Are you really her best friend?
“Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!” He screamed, his throat feeling as if it was getting scratched from the rawness of his voice. There was no way he was gonna have a voice tomorrow.
You’re so aggravated whenever you think about losing YN, are you sure you’re not in love with her or something? Yanno… have you never thought about the fact that maybe she’s your sou–
“Atsumu-kun! Wake up!” A voice yelled while grabbing him by his shoulders and shaking him awake, finally bringing him out of his… dream? Was that even considered a dream? Because Atsumu was sure as hell that what happened was just plain torture to him.
“Are you okay, Atsumu-kun? You were having a nightmare,” turning to the girl who kept her hold on him, he finds Yui, who was looking back at him as if he lost the screws in his head. He starts to believe that he, in fact, did after all that weirdness. After all, who in the world would randomly just fall asleep in the middle of an empty gym then proceed to have a nightmare while on it. Surely, there would be no one except for him. How in the world did it happen anyway? As far as he could remember, he was just practicing his serves and tosses a while ago.
“Yui, why are you still here? It’s getting late,” he asks the girl whose eyes just lit up, for some reason, at his question before lifting her hand up and showing… what? She continued to smile though and waved the same hand right in front of Atsumu’s face, much to his slight annoyance. He wasn’t really in the best mood to play guessing games right now, so he only sighs exasperatedly, “Just get to the point, Yui-chan. I’m feeling the exhaustion now.”
“I told you before that I could see my thread, right? Well, it turned black! Me and my soulmate met up a while ago and turns out, he was a Moira, so we performed the mini ritual, which is so weird by the way, before cutting it. He said one of us has to ‘affirm’ their desire to cut the thread, so I did! As far as I know, based on my previous researches about soulmates, it doesn’t really matter because the ‘gods’ know the deepest desires of our hearts but you know, I don’t really care because I’m free!” She exclaimed, squealing afterwards, and flinging her arms around Atsumu’s neck to give him a hug. But the boy stayed still and gaped because how can someone afford to be happy at this situation? His arms remained motionless at his sides, confusing him; wasn’t he just itching to have this weeks ago? In fact, he was just dreaming about it about three days ago. So why? Why couldn’t he bring himself to hug her back?
“Your soulmate cut it. How can you be happy, Yui-chan….?” Before he knew it, his mouth spoke for him faster than his brain could process. He removed himself from the girl’s embrace, watching as confusion begin to form on her face; though it only took her milliseconds before an odd smile showed up on her face once more.
“Because that means I could finally date you without feeling guilty for my soulmate, silly!”
Atsumu felt like a hundred years had passed in just a single night and yet again, he sighed. If anyone sees him right now, they will probably laugh at his rather pathetic-looking state. Never in his life has he felt this exhausted, not even when Kita Shinsuke would force him to do an unreasonable number of receives and then make him clean the whole gym with the said captain; no, not even that could beat this fatigue and strangely, it makes him miss the captain.
Maybe he should’ve just gone home before 7PM, like Osamu said. He then shudders as he remembers that he still has to face his twin’s wrath.
“Can’t I just go back to being a toddler… like the brats that have no problem in the world?” He whines to himself quietly, relief spreading throughout his whole body as he sees your shared apartment; can already smell the meal Osamu cooked for you four; can visualize the disgusted look your brother will give him once he enters the house, all sweaty and gross-looking. Though, he thinks it’s odd that upon looking at the window of your room and Kiyoomi’s, he finds that they weren’t lit up unlike the usual. Maybe they’re already asleep, he shrugs given that you both love getting your beauty rest as much as you can. Twins, you are.
As careful as possible, he opens the front door, wincing when it makes a sound that would possibly wake up the very sensitive ears of Sakusa Kiyoomi from his room downstairs.
“Don’t bother trying to be quiet, Atsumu. You’re not going to wake anyone up in this house,” The voice of Osamu startles him. Fastly recovering from the mini-scare, he turns to his twin to glare while clutching his chest in hopes to calm his heart down, only to stop when he finds his brother glowering at him with a much worse scowl on his face.
“Samu, I’m sorry. I just got caught up with som”
“You know, Tsumu, it’s kind of ironic, don’t you think? You always come around when it’s already too late,” Osamu speaks, trying to find the right words to say, “YN and Kiyoomi… they left and went back to their parents’ home. They will be staying there until YN and her mom leaves for abroad which would be in less than a month, right after this semester ends.”
Miya Atsumu was self-centered, conceited, prideful, juvenile, and so many more that it would take Kiyoomi more than a day to list all the things he detested from the boy. He didn’t care if you gave up and break off your friendship with him… at least that’s what he believed. But like Sakusa Kiyoomi, he was also human – and at that moment, as his brother stares at him and waits for a reply, he only stays still. Why is it that instead of the volleyball he was holding at the gym moments ago, it’s his heart that’s about to burst?
⤷ notes. we didn't have internet connection for a whole day and phew.. this was the result of me being bored out of my wits, i guess? and i apologize in advance for the pain that i keep on giving and WILL keep on giving :>

Lunatic Parade Ruki Mukami – (Chapter 1)
Place: Bernstein Castle 一 Castle town Residential area
Yui: (I must have to get back my heart as soon as I can…!)
Ah…
*Wolves howling*
(I can see the castle…! As Ruki kun said, that's Earl Walter’s….)
Ruki: Oi, stop here.
Yui: Eh…?
Ruki: before getting into the town, I shall talk about something.
I had collected information regarding Walter as much as I could.
Yui: Earl’s…?
Ruki: Yes, However….
There seems to be no one to know the details about the guy called Earl Walter to begin with.
Yui: Eh…?
Ruki: Only things I’ve heard... he’s unidentified, appears in many places and he has very sharp ears.
But, it may not be sufficient enough…
But it’s said that there’s merely a Butler who’s served Earl for a long time in the Bernstein castle.
It’s still unclear whether he’s in the castle or not however…
He’s the only one to know about the truths about that castle or the Ear.
Yui: ………
(We come to this demon world but…)
(Getting back my heart looks unexpectedly hard…)
Ruki: I thought there’s no way to get to the castle but…
It looks like Bernstein castle is not only on the ground surface, but it’s also extended along the sky and underground.
It looks impossible to enter the castle if we use those ways.
Yui: (Such...I think we have to face difficult circumstances if we want to get back the stolen thing at once…)
(Then it’s impossible to take back my…)
Ruki: Oi, livestock. Don’t make that face. It’s too early to give up.
Yui: But…
Ruki: Only few exist who were able to get back the treasure from Earl at once.
If you search those people and talk with them about getting back stolen things from him, we may get a hint.
...More importantly, I am with you. I’ll ofcourse find a way to get back your heart.
So, you can be relieved.
Yui: nh...Ruki kun…!
(That’s right. Ruki kun’s with me…)
(Because like this, he made me aware of Earl by informing me about him.
(In these times, there’s no person who’s reliable like Ruki kun…)
Yui: Thank you, Ruki kun.
Ruki: You don’t have to thank me. You’re my livestock at any rate. So, it’s my responsibility.
...You know it, don't you?
Yui: ...Fufu, that’s right…
(I only believe in him…)
Ruki: Let’s go then. We’re close to the castle town.
Yui: Yes.
Place: Glimmer Street Main street / グリンマーストリート 表通り
Yui: (There's a huge bunch of people everywhere….is that for the parade?)
Ruki: It’s a crowd so don’t go away from me.
Yui: Ye- yes….
(Nevertheless...does he have any guess of where to go)
(All we’re doing is going ahead for a while….)
(...Anyway, let’s follow him)
Place: Mornstein Hotel, Entrance
Yui: (kh...This place…)
(Hotel, right…?)
Mornstein Hoten Clerk: Welcome. Are you here for reserving?
Ruki: Yeah, that’s right. I am Mukami.
Mornstein Hoten Clerk: So, you have made a reservation of two people. Thank you for waiting.
Please sign here…
Ruki: Gotcha.
Yui: ...Re- reservation…? *Blushing*
Ruki: For doing anything, we’ll need to live in a specific place right?
Plus there will be so many customers for the parade. That’s why I have reserved just in case.
Yui: I- I see….you’re right…
(Looks like he’s not a hesitant person at all….)
(I am somehow unexpectedly aware of this situation…)
Place: Mornstein Hotel, Guest Room
Yui: (...This….!)
(Wa- wait a sec...we’ll share a single room…!?)
(Wha- what should I do…!)
Ruki: …? Is there anything wrong?
Yui: Eh...because, that’s….
I thought we’re gonna have separate rooms…
(I’ll spend all the time staying in the same room with him, what kind of face can I make at this rate…!?)
Ruki: Fufu...what’s up with that face? Are you dissatisfied with having the same room?
Yui: ...I- it’s not true though…
Ruki: Then, what could it be? ...Oh, I see now…
Yui: Eh…?
Ruki: Are you expecting something else?
Yui: Eeeh!?
Ruki: Say it without holding back. What are you actually expecting?
Yui: E- expecting…!?
Ruki: ...Don’t lie. You’re making an upset face, you know?
Come on, sit here. I’ll listen to you.
Yui: Ah…!
*Ruki undresses her*
Yui: Ru- ruki kun…!
Ruki: Fufu…
Yui: (...I- It’s almost like he’s hugging me…!)
Ruki: ...Tell me what were you expecting? Say.
Yui: Th- there’s nothing….I was expecting…
Ruki: ...I won’t let you go until you say it.
Yui: ….Even if you say it…
Ruki: ….Is that so. It can’t be helped. I’ll punish you if you just hide...this this...nh…*kiss*
Yui: Kyaa…!
Ruki: ...How was it? Have you intended to say it now?
Yui: ………
(What can I do...I don’t know how to explain…!)
Ruki: Hm...seriously. You’re a tough one. Then I’ll …
*Ruki kisses Yui*
Yui: ….nh…!
Ruki: ...nn…
Yui: (Ruki kun…!)
(What now...I am facing these conditions, that’s even just after coming to the demon world…)
(We just started searching my heart but, it’s already at his pace….!)
(Then I won’t be able to possess my own body…)
Ruki: ...Hmph, you’re very calm today.
The people who lack concentration need to be punished even more, no? Nh…nh...
*He kisses*
Yui: Nnnh…!
(No...my face’s become really red…)
*After a while*
Ruki: It’s tea, you drink too.
Yui: Th- thank you…
Ruki: For today’s conversation 一
Yui: (...Talking about Ruki kun, he’s surprisingly normal…)
(About that thing he did while ago too…) *blushes*
(kh...What am I thinking…! No, I just can’t!)
(As I thought, it’s weird that I am the only one to think this way…)
Ruki: ...Oi, are you listening?
Yui: Eh? Ye- yes...Of course, I am listening!
Ruki: Haa...as I thought, today you’re unexpectedly losing concentration.
If that's the case then I shall discipline you by giving that punishment once again?
Yui: kh….!
(Th- that’s….!)
Ruki: Hmph, if you don’t want then, listen to my conversation. I am talking about something important.
Yui: Mhm, Got it…
Ruki: I told you before coming here though,
The very first decision will be to talk with the people who have experience getting back stolen things before.
Yui: ….You’re right.
Ruki: I’ve already left the familiars there to collect the information.
Yui: (kh...Ruki kun, as expected of him…!)
Ruki: Their reports also contained useless ones, but there are also numerous worthy informations I received.
Let’s try to use the advantages at once.
Yui: Yes, understood.
Ruki: According to the familiars, there’s a man among qualified people, who lives near this place.
We should immediately visit him I think.
Yui: That’s right.
(I hope he will give us some hints…)
Place: Rubean Lake
Yui: (The reflected light on the canal water looks really amazing…)
This town uses gondolas for traveling, right?
Ruki: Yeah, as you can see. The waterways are developing.
The man that we have business with is the owner of a certain shop. We’ll can have clear concepts if we meet him in the shop but…
Well, all you have to do is to just follow me.
Yui: Yes, got it.
(Exactly, I can be at ease if I leave everything up to him.)
Place: Glimmer Street, front of Wagon Main street
Ruki: Right ahead of this road.
Yui: (Uwaa...I am getting overflowed with these crowds…)
(Even so…)
(I am smelling something really good for a while)
(....Crepes' pretzels...and there’s different kinds of stalls...all are specially for the parade, I guess.)
(Somehow, I am feeling hungry out of nowhere….)
Ruki: ……..
Yui: Hm? What’s wrong?
Oh, so the store of that man we’re searching is around here…?
Ruki: No, it’s not like that. Something really smells good. If I guess, it’s crepes huh…
...It’s rare so, wanna eat some?
Yui: Eh? Crepe?
Ruki: Yeah.
→ Selection
But / でも... (+correct)
I’ll eat! / 食べる!
Yui: ………
Ruki: ….? What’s wrong? If you like something other then, I’ll go with that…
Yui: Oh, nope. It’s not what I meant. Shall I eat, the creep…
(But...it’s very rare for him to offer me like this…)
(Could it be... 一)
Ruki: Which flavour?
Yui: Umm...I’ll go with the strawberry one….
Ruki: Got it. Wait a little here.
*Walks away*
Yui: (He’s gone…)
Place: Diamante Fountain
Yui: Mn…
(This crepe is really delicious….!)
Ruki: ….Delicious? It’s somehow understandable by looking at your expression though….
Yui: Fufu, it’s super yummy. What about having some?
Ruki: I am….
Well, then I will have just one bite.
Yui: Mhm, here you go.
Ruki: ….
...Good taste.
Yui: Fufuh
This expression is likely you.
(Nevertheless, I was a little surprised when he ate the crepe suddenly)
(If it would be the usual Ruki kun, then he would prefer to search for something to hold the food…)
(As expected, it means that he’s taking care of me…?)
Ruki: ...Anyway, let’s hurry. Our aimed store is right ahead.
Yui: Yes.
Place: Glimmer Street, Aizen back street
Ruki: ……….
Yui: (Somehow, it’s a place of no sign of people…)
(But, he’s just going ahead…)
(I must not lose the sight of him)
*After a moment*
Ruki: ...I think it should be right ahead…
But, it’s the end point... Let’s go back.
Yui: Eh…?
Ruki: ...What? Hurry and come.
Yui: Neh, Ruki kun...could it be…
Ruki: ...Yeah. We’ve gotten lost.
Yui: (Kh….Ruki kun is….!?) *Blushing*
Ruki: What’s, that face….
...Is it bad for me to get lost?
Yui: N- not bad...but…
Normally, getting lost like this for the Ruki kun who’s very reliable...fufuh
(...It’s a little cute, I think…)
Ruki: ...So, what’s wrong with that? Doesn’t make sense.
*Grabs her*
Yui: (H- he just dragged me towards the wall…)
Ruki: Oi, stop laughing and say the rest. If you don’t, then again…
Yui: N- no...I didn’t really laugh to make a fool of you…
I am feeling like you’re showing your sides that you don’t show often, it made me happy…
….I also like that side of yours...I thought…
Ruki: ngh…..
...For livestock making fun like this, you’re really a cheeky one…
I knew, you still have many ways to go to be disciplined. Nh…*kiss*
Yui: ...nh…
Ruki: ….nh...this amount isn’t enough yet. I’ll do this….
*Undresses*
Ruki: Haah...nnnh...mnnn….*sucking*
Yui: kh…!
Ruki: ...mnn….mmmn….!
Yui: Ru...Ruki kun…! In such a place…
Ruki: I don’t care about such things. More than it, right now...haa...nh…
Yui: (No way….my strength is fading…)
*Sound*
Ruki: kh…!?
Yui: (....! The wall just moved…!?)
*Screen shakes*
*BG black*
Yui: Kya…!
(There was a hole in this place….!)
(No! I’ll fall…!)
Ruki: Yui…!
Yui: (Eh…?)
Place: Underground corridor / 地下回廊
Yui: (...I’m floating, in the air…?)
Ruki: Haa...I managed to make it in time. That was a close one.
Yui: (I see, he held me by flying…)
Thank you. You saved me…
(I thought we were gonna fall together for that crumbled brick…)
By the way, this place…?
Yui: (Water is also flowing in this place…)
(I didn’t think that there’s such a place in the underground…)
*Let down Yui*
Ruki: I get it. With the underground corridor, he meant this place huh.
Yui: Underground corridor…?
Ruki: Actually, I have been searching this entrance for a while.
That proposed boy’s shop seemed to be in this underground corridor.
Yui: A shop in such a place…?
Ruki: Yeah. However, I can’t say this place has good walls.
And also I can’t say what kind of guy we’ll meet on hereafter. Don’t let your guard down for the sake of our goal.
Yui: Mhm, understood…
Ruki: Aight, then let’s go. It’s this way.
Yui: This place?
Ruki: Yeah, no mistake I believe.
Yui: (Not a shop if it looks like a mere basement room to me...what it could be that he’s selling…?)
(Oh, before meeting the shopkeeper, I should fix my clothes.)
*They’re going to inter*
Yui: (Alright…!)
*Knock*
Ruki: Oi, is the shopkeeper here? I sent the familiars before…
Shopkeeper Man: Yeah, it’s open. Come inside.
Ruki: Then, excuse us.
Place: Underground, Shopkeepers Shop / 地下道内店主の部屋
Shopkeeper Man: Oh, you’re that….
Ruki: Mukami Ruki. She is ...一
Yui: Ah, umm…
Komori Yui. Nice to meet you.
Shopkeeper Man: You’re here to discuss the time when Earl stole my thing right?
Ruki: Exactly.
Shopkeeper Man: Well, talking while standing is weird so have a seat. I’ll also have you some tea…
Yui: Th- thank you so much…
*After a while*
Ruki: ...I see. So you can’t say the time about how to get back that thing huh?
Shopkeeper Man: Yeah, that’s right…
Ruki: Why? If you don’t mind, then I want to hear the reasons…
Shopkeeper Man: ...Sorry. My bad, but I can’t say everything about that…
Following that, Earl forbade me to speak about it...and also...一
………..
Yui: ….?
Ruki: …….
Shopkeeper Man: You came here with troubles but I am not able to cooperate with you, really sorry for that…
Yui: That’s...it’s okay. Same here, sorry for raising such questions…
Ruki: If you have circumstances that we have no choice. We’ll try to find another way.
Sorry for pushing you. ….Then excuse me.
Shopkeeper Man: Yeah.
Place: Diamante Fountain
Yui: (At the end, we could get any useful information...what should we do…)
Ruki: Haah...don’t make such a face. That was just the first one, right?
Let’s try out the next. This right ahead.
Yui: Yes...that’s true.
(Exactly. It’s just he said.)
(It’s useless to feel down in the first place…)
Place: Diamante Fountain
Ruki: Haah….
Yui: ……..
Monologue 一
After that, we visited the people who were able to get back the stolen things…
That person made a mistake, he wasn’t able to get back the stolen thing.
I wonder how that shopkeeper was able to succeed by taking back the stolen thing?
Anyway, we returned back to the same place when we couldn’t get any information.
For these, we just sighed.
End of the Monologue
Ruki: Hah…
I thought we'd be able to get some information, but we failed…
I also made you visit there for a wasteful reason….sorry.
Yui: Such...you don’t have to apologize….
If I was to be all alone, then I wouldn’t even know where to get started…
Ruki: Certainly, it seems to be hard to find another way...what can we do…
Yui: That’s…
(...Ruki kun really did his best this far…)
(He was also concerned about me all the time…)
(I wonder if something I can do….for him….)
(kh….that’s right!)
Neh, Ruki kun, it’s a time waste if you just keep thinking about that right?
Won’t you like to change the place? Look, there’s an amusement park…
It’s a good time, so let’s ride there! No?
Ruki: Roller coaster….?
Yui: Yes! Talking about the amusement park, there’s also…
(It occasionally caught my eyes but…)
Ruki: But, right now, your heart….
Yui: I am fine. Kleinod hasn’t done something strange so….
No danger is coming right away….am I wrong?
Ruki: Good grief...saying these stuffs out of nowhere….
Yui: (He won't….huh…?)
Ruki: Haa….I have no choice. Roller coaster will do right…?
Yui: Yeah! Then….!
Ruki: It’s fine, I’ll accompany you.
Yui: (That’s good…!)
Place: Roller Coaster Boarding Gate
Attendant for rides: Well then everyone, please hold firmly the bar in front of you, okay!
Yui: (It’s gonna depart soon...I am somehow scared to get into it like this…)
(Hands are trembling…)
Ruki: Oi….
Yui: Eh? Wh- what….?
Ruki: What's wrong huh...you’re the one to invite me to ride it….
Yui: Eh…?
Ruki: ...No, it’s nothing. More importantly, move on?
Yui: kh...Ye- yes….
*After a while*
Ruki: Riding this in a while is making me feel refreshed.
Yui: Th- that’s right…
(I- I was scared…)
Ruki: …..Fufu...Ahahah!
Yui: Wh- what…?
(He’s smiling though….!)
Ruki: It means you’ve weakness in roller coasters don’t you?
Yui: Eh, it’s not the case….?
(...It’s not like I am very confident but…)
Ruki: Fuh, your manner of walking was doubtful, plus you’re very lacking in strength.
Your hands were trembling during the ride…
Yui: kh...You noticed…?
Ruki: ….Ofcourse! But, that’s fine.
Anyway, I know that you stressed your body to change my sorry feelings and company me.
Honestly, doing this I was able to change my mood.
Yui: Ruki kun…
Ruki: Plus... you also had a point.
It doesn’t mean that things will improve if I just fill myself with determination.
….For all of these, let’s search for a clue from tomorrow.
Yui: Eh…?
Ruki: I said just a little before, but I’ve changed my mood. I’ll date you for the whole day today.
It’s the parade after all, it’s okay to enjoy ourselves.
Yui: Yes…!
(Thank you so much, Ruki kun…!)
*Yui hugs Ruki*
Ruki: ...What? It’s unusual for you to wrap your arms around.
Yui: Ah...it’s for….that’s….
(I was so happy that I approa….!)
Ruki: It’s fine. Stay like this, since it’s a trouble if you stray away.
Here, come closer.
*Ruki hugs Yui closer*
Yui: Ah…!
(...He just hugged me…)
Ruki: Then, what’s next? I don’t mind your choice.
Yui: Let’s see….well….
Place: Glimmer Street, park
Yui: The view from the ferris wheel looks really great.
Ruki: Yeah, you’re right.
Yui: (Mirror house, then coffee cup and ferris wheel...we rode different kinds of rides.)
(....What’s the next?)
Ruki: Hey, livestock. What about having a match with me?
Yui: With you? I’m fine with but what is that….?
Ruki: ...That one.
Yui: (That one…)
Place: Game Center
Yui: Slot machine….?
(But having a match….choosing slot out of nowhere….)
Ruki: Do you think luck is everything?
Yui: Eh? Yes, that’s….well….
Ruki: Fufu, it’s true that I can’t ask until someone gets the hang of it, however it’s not something like one can perform well in this match just by getting skilled in observasions.
Yui: I- is that so…?
(But, it’s Ruki kun so I may not….)
Ruki: Hmph, what’ll you do? Will you not accept?
….I thought I will reward you depending on the result. How unfortunate.
Yui: kh…..Reward….?
Ruki: Well, if you don’t like it then don’t force it. Let’s move on somewhere…
Yui: Wa- wait! I’ll accept!
Ruki: ...Ho?
Yui: (It’s the Ruki kun after all to invite me afterall…)
(More than that, I am a little excited about the prize….)
Ruki: Fuh, Alright then. Let’s start right away.
→ Game
Words he said in the game 一
“Let’s start the game.”
“That’s the key to do that”
“Focus on”
“With this, it’s over. You did well, livestock.”
*If you win + (CG)*
Yui: kh….it means I am….
Ruki: Looks like it’s your victory. You know that game pretty well.
Yui: (I don’t believe that I will win against him…)
(I am happy….!)
Ruki: Then, let’s give you the prize as I promised.
It’s a prize for you.
I’ll specially permit you to touch your master’s body.
Yui: Eh…?
Ruki: Come on, you can touch as much as you want.
Yui: (kh….even if he says that….!)
Ruki: ….hm? What’s wrong? You don’t have to hesitate.
Yui: D-don't hesitate you say….
(....He’s just teasing me, right?)
Yui: Ruki kun, Umm...一kyaa!?
*He gets closer*
Ruki: It’s no good to deny your master's affection.
...I’ll punish you now. Nnh…*kiss*
*Fades to CG*
Yui: nnh….!
(Ruki kun…!)
Place: Rubean Lake
Yui: Haah….it’s enough for me to walk here and there around. I’ll just sleep when I’ll go back to the hotel.
...But, it was a lot of fun.
Ruki: Is that so? Then, it’s good.
...It’s a beautiful Moon.
Yui: Eh…?
*Looks at the sky*
Yui: ...It’s true.
Ruki: Ayway, from tomorrow, we have to get prepared and find a way to get back your heart.
Yui: Yes…
(He’s right. At the end, we don’t have any clue after all…)
(We have to do our best from tomorrow…)
*BG back again to Rubean lake*
Yui: ………
Ruki: ...Hah, don’t worry that much. I’ll of course manage a way.
Yui: ….Ruki kun…
Ruki: So, you can relax...一
*Yui holds Ruki’s hand*
Yui: I’m not worried at all, I’m fine. Because you’re with me like this…
I believe in you…
(Even though I can’t do nothing but holding his hand,)
(At least, I hope I can pass my true feelings towards him…)
Ruki: Yui…
You are holding my hands from yourself…
You also embraced me before, you’re very positive aren’t you.
Yui: M- may be…?
Ruki: But...this kind of you isn’t bad either.
Yui: Fufu…
(I’m glad…)

Hi again! I couldn’t stop thinking about Taka being in a Les Misrables play in college and I just gotta know how it went! I wonder if he had bonded with his fellow club members during practice to the point where they crack inside jokes together and laugh along with each other over a blooper they found funny during practice. Maybe once the show is over, they all get emotional over the club members being in their final term of college (since it would be their last show). I remember back when I was in my high school drama club, we would all go out to dinner the weekend after the showtimes to celebrate. Maybe Taka and the rest of the club could do something like that! (Taka would invite Leon of course. And maybe Kaede, Maki and Kirumi if they went to his college lol).
Heyyy!
Oh hell yeah! Les Mis would have been his final Uni performance for sure! As big as Hope's Peak was, I don't think they'd have enough students (what with the canon reserve course being...well...not that important lets say...). And ya gotta have a lot of people for Les Mis!
I'm not sure many of his Hope's Peak friends (emphasis on friends) would have gone to the same Uni as him - apart from Leon obviously. But I said in a previous post that Mondo's around, so he would definitely go.
Anyway! Enough procrastinating! Let's get writing! Slipped in some jealousy too so hope you don't mind? Thank you as always for the ask and I hope you enjoy!
*********************
• Seeing as he enjoyed the theatre club in Hope's Peak, Taka naturally gets involved in something similar in Uni.
• Leon is hoping to join too, seeing as he got involved in one of the final shows back at school, but baseball practice falls on the same days and so he just can't make it.
• That's not to say he doesn't go to see every show - both the opening night and the closing night without fail.
• And boy, does Taka still shine.
• He doesn't always get big roles now, which suits him just fine seeing as the clubs put on shows much more regularly with the amount of students involved.
• But he still manages to bag a few decent roles - Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar and Dr Frank N Furter in Rocky Horror Picture show being Leon's particular favourites (for totally different reasons...)
• But Taka's crowning moment was also to be his final stage performance.
• Javert in Les Mis.
• He'd been listening to Stars ever since starting on the stage and told himself that Javery would be the last character he ever played.
• And of course, he was instantly cast in the role.
• He put his absolute EVERYTHING into it, making sure to go out with a bang.
• Each of the five performances went incredibly and on his final night, while taking a bow, he couldn't help but cry.
• He's built such great bonds with this group. And although they still have two more shows, he knows its the end for him.
• The club is all super emotional when he tells them backstage and immediately insist on sending him off with a bang.
• Leon and Mondo, who are waiting for him, are invited along - even though they know practically no one there.
• And oh boy, is it weird.
• Its not that they're annoyed at how popular Taka is with this group of people.
• On the contrary - its lovely to see the boy finally enjoying life outside of their company.
• But there's SO MANY in jokes - stuff they'll never find as funny as everyone else.
• No matter how hard Taka tries to explain it to them when he gets two seconds to speak to them.
• Mondo's just glad he has Leon there to talk to and so's pretty chill with the whole thing.
• Leon, though, is suffering with his irrational jealousy again.
• Of course he wants Taka to succeed and have friends and be happy. Of COURSE he wants that.
• But he can't help but worry about the girl Taka had to kiss on stage when he was J.D in Heathers the Musical.
• She's practically fawning over him and she's batting her lashes at him and he KEEPS PICTURING THAT SCENE and Leon just...just...
• He needs to just calm himself down and let Taka enjoy his moment.
• He needs to stop being so damn hypocritical about stage kissing.
• It's acting! Pretend! Make believe!
• It's not like Taka CHEATED on him.
• And hey, Taka is ENTITLED to stage kiss. God knows Leon's kissed plenty of people in the past. It isn't like Leon's ANNOYED and JEALOUS that he isn't Taka's only kiss anymore...
• Ugh. He needs air.
• He excuses himself and Mondo and they head out, Mondo lighting up and Leon DESPERATELY wanting to.
• Mondo knows better than to bother him so they stand in silence.
• Until Taka comes out, and Mondo slips back inside.
• 'You okay?'
• 'Yeah, I'm fine.'
• Lies. Sweet sweet lies. And Taka knows it.
• And eventually Leon slips and says he'd better go back because...
• 'SHE'LL be waiting?'
• 'Who?'
• 'The girl that's been all over you all night.'
• Ah. Okay, now Taka gets it.
• Leon's jealous of his co-star. The one he had to kiss. And ironically, he has no idea that he's jealous of a lesbian.
• He smiles and takes Leon's hands, pulling him in close.
• 'You know one of our favourite in jokes?'
• 'Hmm.'
• 'Whenever we had to practice our...scene...we both took ages getting into that moment. You know how we did it?'
• 'No.'
• 'We both had to pretend the other was our partner. Yui pictured Niko. And I pictured you.'
• Ahhh damn it. Leon KNEW he was overreacting.
• 'Sorry.'
• 'Don't be. But don't ever forget...offstage, I'm all yours.'
• After that, the party is much more enjoyable!

The Heroine’s Importance
I already posted this on my main blog but now that I have blog exclusively for otome game I rather keep it there.
Back then when Utapri and Hakuouki were the notorious reverse harems of their time, their heroines were as hated as the anime was loved. A weird phenomenon since they’re… the heroine of those shows.
Haruka Nanami was even the driving force of the show. In Utapri, which was an anime about music, she was the one with the idea that the boys should come together and become idols. She’s the reason why STARISH exists in the first place.
For Hakuouki, the case was a bit different. It was a historic anime where the warriors of the Shinsengumi were changed into bishonen (a bit in the similar fashion that Ikemen Sengoku is today) and even if it followed some real events, a plot about human experimentation and oni was also included.
In this story Chizuru Yukimura wasn’t the responsible of the Shinsengumi, but we could see the story through her eyes and assisted the evolution of the story through her.
Both did their job as the heroine. The story was enjoyable.
To me it was weird to try to dissociate the quality the anime with the quality of their heroine. If the heroine was this awful, how her presence didn’t ruin the anime for those who hated her?
Well obviously because of the boys, who were kind of the point of those anime. After all they were put forward, especially in Hakuouki, for a reason.
Still it was unfair to judge them so cruelly, so today in fandom, this behaviour is criticized.
Now we even get positivity for the heroine, such as putting them on an equal foot as the boys! Which is great!
But is it true?
I thought about doing this post because I thought of a short-lived trend in anime which revealed a certain behaviour in both the creators of those anime and their fandom.
“The heroine matter as much as the boys”
The anime which started this trend in my eyes was Amnesia.
In this story the heroine wakes up without her memories and her soul linked to a fairy, Orion, which collided with her and made her lose her memories this way.
It had an original concept, stunning visual, wonderful OST (an opening by Yanagi Nagi!), it looked mysterious and I was very curious about it.
To my dismay, the anime was boring to say the least. And it wasn’t because it was a reverse harem so it was to be expected. Utapri and Hakuouki had their flaws but they weren’t outright uninteresting.
The problem that was the most noticeable was the heroine which didn’t even have a name or a personality.
So as the anime can make you guess, the heroine has amnesia. She’s lost at the beginning of the anime, making this premise interesting. After all when a character has amnesia, one of the points of the story is to make them recover their memories.
Which means that the heroine will be a very important character, even more since everything is from her POV! Right? Right?
The heroine doesn’t evolve throughout the story. She’s merely there for the boys to be in love with her past self, the one before she had amnesia and even if she cares for them (as a heroine always has to do) she doesn’t really love any and just adapts to the one she’s supposed to love in the animated route.
I can’t say that the heroine of Amnesia is badly written since she’s barely written at all. She’s there to support the boys and forgive anything which happens to her. For example being harassed or get sequestrated in a cage :
Even in this situation where the love interest keep her in a cage, she care more about how much he does that to “protect her” :
.Except to protect herself from direct danger (and even like this she needs Orion to tell her to be careful because she can’t think for herself), she doesn’t care about her own well being as much as a normal human being would.
Brothers conflict have a simpler plot where the heroine’s father marries a woman who has 13 sons, making her their only step sister.
Different conflict with the brothers will arise and it’s already challenging to try to develop the characters when there’s 13 of them. With only 12 episodes, not all of them will fall in love with Ema? the heroine, but enough of them will, to make it as confusing as possible.
In this anime we meet the same kind of heroine as Amnesia, where the heroine doesn’t have much personality for herself. Or at least, the only noticeable personality traits of Ema is to love having a family which she will repeat at any given opportunity.
I really hated the guys in this anime for how egotistical they were as soon as they fall in love. Once again the heroine doesn’t crush on anyone, making them all forceful toward her.
Despite this, the heroine would somewhat express that she doesn’t want her relationship with them to turn romantic.
If anything the heroine’s main presence will be about how uncomfortable she is that her brothers try to seduce her.
But again, what matters the most is that they love her, not that she doesn’t return those feelings back and she even gets depressed over it :
A revelation is made about the heroine which will make her depressed about the whole situation, especially that her brothers fight over her.
But it won’t be used to develop her as a character or to make them aware of it. It’ll be used for a romantic moment with one of her love interest, who will kiss her even if he know how much it disturb her :
The heroine is kissed multiple times by attractive guys yes, but who she doesn’t love and explicitly rejects at the end of the anime.
And even if she gets kissed, the heroine is just worried about the situation of the family, not how herself is treated by them. She never says, “what about me? Why are you kissing me when all I want is for you to stop?” or anything similar. She cares about them more than she cares about herself.
And even though she’s supposedly uncomfortable by their behaviour, she doesn’t seem like that most of the time, just enthusiastic about having a family as usual.
At the end of the anime, a lot of people were upset that the heroine didn’t choose anyone. Why would she have to when we see how the guys act?
The behaviour of the boys
A thing that we can notice in all of this is that sometimes, the guys can be really awful to the heroine but as she doesn’t care about herself, she won’t hold any mistreatment toward her person against any of them. For example at the end of brothers conflict even when she reject one of the guys, “no” doesnt mean “no”.
But why are they authorized to be egoistic and possessive without any consequences? In brothers conflict, one of the guys even tries to rape her in her sleep and blame her for that :
But again despite this, I’ve never seen hate against this character, while, like it always happen, a lot of hatred is directed to Ema.
The guys are never hated for their actions because everything they do is depicted as being romantic (even if it definitely aren’t like the scene above) and it’s motivated by their love or their pain anyway.
“Love make them go crazy” because, after all, they can’t help it, they love the heroine so much that some accidents are bound to happen, like trying to undress her in her sleep or keeping her in a cage for her own good :
It’s just an accident! They can’t help it!
But sometime it can perfectly be a conscious choice but again, not shown as being cruel.
The last anime which has this tendency to not develop their main character at all was Diabolik Lovers, where Yui Komori gets stuck with 6 sadistic vampire who abuse her daily.
We enter in the kink theory here, and being masochist and finding the idea of bitten hot isn’t a problem. The problem is that in the story, Yui is blocked in this place and she obviously doesn’t enjoy to be the playthings of those men :
Each time she is bitten she expresses that she wants it to stop. But they don’t care. Because in Diabolik Lovers, Yui isn’t their love interest but their prey.
Again we have the same problem as the other heroines where she has no real personality beside caring about the boys above herself. In this case it’s even worse because the guys are predators who will hurt Yui without any second thoughts, but she acts like they are acquaintances . Despite all the abuse she goes through at their hands she goes to them to casually start a discussion which will always end up with her being abused :
The last time she interacted with him let’s see what happened :
Once again there’s a priorities on her interacting with the boys rather than making her behavior have any sense.
What is weird with this anime, in particular, is how much the heroine is blamed for not fighting back…while she can’t. They overpower her anyway.
But the guys aren’t hated for acting this way in the first place. Isn’t it odd? Yui is victim blamed and even if she suffers, we’re never shown the real impact that such daily abuse would have on her. She even worries about them at the littlest injury they can have :
While they’re the one hurting her :
Or if they ever care about her wound it’s because someone else did it to her and they feel entitled to her body, so they want to fight the other person :
Despite the statement that they’re equal, in anime such as these it’s not the case because the guys are given excuses for their bad behavior, while the heroine has to deal with it and put them above herself.
Still, they’re supposed to be equal so despite everything the heroine can end up to be liked… but in this context it is weird.
In the case of Yui who cares about her abuser no matter what, she gets praised for caring about the guys :
She cares about them without real explanation because all the interaction with her in the anime lead to abuse at some point. It can be the Stockholm Syndrome but it’s not depicted as anything else other than your usual heroine caring about the people around her, even if they abuse her.
As such, people tend to praise her for what she’s designed to do : putting them above her.
She even gets shipped with those who torment her and the self destructive attitude she has to help them no matter how much they hurt her is glorified.
If she is loved, if she matters, why should she be paired with those who hurt her the most?
They don’t lash out to her because they’re upset, it’s a behaviour that they consciously do like above with the cage. You can’t possibly “accidentally” put someone in a cage because you’re “protective”.
But at the end even if the heroine “matters as much as the boys” there’s a priority on them being healed by her rather than her own well being. Even if Yui gets traumatized, it doesn’t matter as much as the trauma of the guys and her neglecting herself for one of her abusers who won’t even care about her happiness, since all they want is to have her.
In the same way, it doesn’t matter that the heroine of Amnesia has been drugged and kept in a cage : Toma, the love interest, does it for her own good since she’s getting harassed and we have to be sad about how much he becomes insane for her sake. We shouldn’t worry how horrific the situation is for the heroine but try to understand him.
For Ema, we have to care about how much the guys have fallen for her and how much it puts a toll on them that she doesn’t reply to those feelings. It doesn’t matter that she shown no desire to be with any of them since the beginning, even when she finally rejects them, they can kiss her because they matter the most.
And in fandom space, her importance is still limited to her catering to the boys, and even if it’s supposed to be mutual love, they never care about her feelings to the point of respecting her.
It doesn’t matter what they do to her, she has to care for them despite anything. Those heroines are written as such, and the fandom accepts them this way too.
She doesn’t matter as much as they do, because if she was, her feelings would matter and she wouldn’t be written as being “caring” at the expense of herself.
You can say that since she’s the heroine, it’s normal that she cares about the boys, since the point of reverse harem is to have attractive boys first. And I would agree with that if it wasn’t so exaggerated.
Now not all reverse harems are written this way. There’s actually reverse harems where the heroine matters as much as the guys.
For example in Dance with Devils, Ritsuka, the heroine, constantly searches to know the truth which is hidden from her. It can seem foolish since it mostly puts her in danger though.
But to this, she also get rightly upset when one of the guys try to seduce her and something literally inexistent in reverse harem, she can even slap him for his misconduct! :
She can even get depressed about how manipulated she ends up to be. For this reason, she end up lashing out at one of the guys :
Her emotions matter and you have to remember that Dance with Devils was out around the same time than the second season of Diabolik Lovers :
The heroine of the anime above never had the right to be sad about their situation, their feelings weren’t pushed forward. They have no right to be sad or upset, just kind and caring and nothing else.
At the end of the anime, Ritsuka even received hate for the choice because it was about herself, not about her love interest.
Amnesia, Brothers Conflict and Diabolik Lovers heroine’s exist only to care for the boys while at least the ones of Dance with Devils exist to have the guys attracted to her but also to pursue her own goals.
As such, it’s a mistake to say that all the heroines matter as much as the boys because it can be factually wrong in the way they’ve been created.
I don’t like that the heroines are automatically hated for being the heroine, but I don’t think it’s fair to praise them just for this reasons either.
They all have been written with different level of writing and for differents purpose, one of them being only there for the guys and not the other way around. For this reason, they should be judged differently, and people should accept that others will not like all of them.
Reverse Harem heroines are all different because the anime they are in have been done with different sake in mind. Reverse harem are like any other type of anime : with good and bad anime, good and bad protagonist.
And it would be better to accept this diversity than trying to frame all the heroine as the same.
Hopefully now the heroine’s tend to not be written that way anymore and tend to matter as much as the guys in the anime too.

All right, so now that I finally digested the final a little I have some random messy thoughts about Fruits Basket 2019. It got really long lol, but this has been stuck in my head for a while so I needed to get it out!
Honestly, it was a very good adaptation and I’m still in awe I was able able to see the whole manga animated. Fruits Basket is pretty important to me, as I read it for the first time when I was around twelve and it was definitely one of the series that impacted me the most — the way it tackles themes of cycle of abuse, loneliness, grief and moving forward still feel very special to me even now (I briefly wrote a post about it months ago after rereading the manga), so of course I was delighted upon hearing the reboot announced and for the most part, it didn’t disappoint. I’d never truly thought I’d be able to see characters like Rin or Machi actually move on screen in my lifetime so in a way it still feel surreal lmao (RIP to Komaki though). It was really refreshing to revisit the story in that way, especially given amusingly enough I am myself in the middle of some big changes in my life where I have to leave things behind so it felt sort of... well, I won’t say empowering per se, but quite encouraging and satisfying to watch Furuba, and especially its final, at this timing, in a way. It wasn’t perfect, there are certainly a lot of flawed directive choices that I question and unfortunately quite some important cut contents — but even at its lowest it stayed all in all good. I’m genuinely a bit stunned there are people who thinks the entire thing is worthless or a failure, because man, I have seen what a bad anime adaptation looks like, and Fruits Basket 2019 definitely isn’t one. Natsuki Takaya herself was clearly very invested and satisfied in that adaptation — I mean, just the fact she drew arts for every single episodes or for the season 3 ending really shows that I think. And while there’s a part of me who will always have a soft spot for the 2001 anime, there’s no contest that the 2019 one is the superior one and more representative of the original manga as a whole.
I believe some people really don’t realize how... uncommon it is to get such a consistently good-looking and complete anime adaptation for a shojo manga? Shojo really aren’t lucky in that prospect usually; they rarely get animated, and when they do they’re usually very bland or outright bad, or they get one short season of like 13 episodes that never receive any follow-ups — even shojo considered like classics tend to get poor treatment, unless they’re Sailor Moon of course or a long-running magical girls franchise like Precure (and even then we could have a discussion about the way Sailor Moon’s treated compared to say Dragon Ball for example, but that’s another topic entirely). So yeah it is quite awesome we were able to get this kind of anime adaptation that covers the full manga with good quality from start to finish, and I am so, so glad it exists and that it managed to revive and makes the series so popular again. (Hopefully its success means we’ll be able to get more good anime adaptation of shojo manga from now on!)
But yeah, that doesn’t mean there wasn’t problems with it and I also understand why some of the manga fans had issues. We were kind of hyped with the fact this would be a complete adaptation and in the end we only got a... sort-of-complete one lol. The art and animation stayed fine during the run (there certainly were some episodes that were uhhh, lacking in that sense, but that’s just how it is sometimes with productions and budget), but I admit I was a bit letdown regarding the direction, where it often seemed… a bit uncreative or heavy-handed. There was some very beautiful and smart shots here and there, but on the whole I really had an issue with the adaptation failing to actually take more ambitious decisions on its visual aspect, especially compared to the pretty pannelling of the manga — and when it did take these decisions it just was… kind of obnoxious and in-your-face, like the show is trying to hold the watcher’s hand (with unnecessary things like Kyo’s father record player derailing or the whole big ropes symbolizing the curse that often slapped you all over the screen, which usually just made me want to roll my eyes because of how annoying it felt.) Multiple people also pointed out the overdramatization of some scenes like the Kyo and Tohru’s confrontation at the end of season 1 or Akito and Ren’s fight which was, indeed, not very good and a weird choice. Fruits Basket is already a pretty dramatic show and these scenes are already intense, there was no need for such over-the-top theatrical display of emotions that only made them comes off as comedic. I’m probably nitpicking here but it also bothered me some characters’ expressions didn’t feel properly retranscribed (Shigure especially, whose characterization depends a lot on that, really suffered from this), or that odd habit of making some big panorama plans instead of focusing on the faces and bodies, which particularly sucks during emotional scenes (like the backgrounds were pretty I guess, but that’s not what was important here lmao).
Also that might be just a personal thing, but can I point out that the openings were pretty disappointing to me... They're not bad, but they all looked so... bland. The songs are fine but the rest feel so uninspired and it's kind of sad... I dunno, I wasn't asking for much but I just think they could've done more than just scrolling each character looking vaguely melancholic or making them walk randomly one after another :/ The endings have at least pretty illustrations and I'm okay with them (I liked what they did with Kyoko’s photo in season 3 too), but the OPs kind of feel as if they ran out of budget and ideas for them or something. I kind of feel the same with the OST as well, where they’re generally fine but were a bit lackluster, and sometimes… they were kind of played at bad times? I remember the Rin episode in season 2 were the music felt a bit out of place and took me out of the immersion, which is a shame cause it was otherwise a pretty good episode. But that might just be a me-thing here lol. The voice actors were awesome though! (The Japanese ones, at least, I didn’t watch any other dubs). I’ve said it before but special kudos to Maaya Sakamoto cause damn she’s so perfect as Akito, and Shimazaki as Yuki and Toyosaki as Rin truly delivered too. I didn’t know Manaka Iwami at all but I was really impressed by her Tohru, especially in season 3 — she really was good at capturing her character’s subtle emotional turmoils (I think she makes a better Tohru than Yui Horie too, although I admit I missed Horie a little lol.)
Anyway, on the topic of lack of ambition, that might be an unpopular opinion but there’s also the fact that I’m sad they didn’t actually... try to change or add more original scenes. By which I mean, obviously we had some changes, but not ones that were really interesting (when they’re not actively detrimental to the story). For example, I was really hoping that we’d be able to get at least one original episode focused on Ritsu (and Mitsuru too why not) in season 2 or 3, or on Kagura or Kisa; I dunno, it would’ve been a good occasion to give something more to the characters that got sidelined in the original manga, or add some moments that would’ve been nice to develop like about Akito post-cliff confrontation, but we never got that. And well, that makes sense now that we know they seemingly had an episode restriction (at least on season 3), but, yeah, that’s still a shame. Honestly in the end Ritsu’s character made even less sense in the anime, because like, it was nice they tried to adapt his introduction episode so that it feels less “you have to adapt to gender norms to feel better about yourself,” (the gender non-confirmity is definitely one of the bits that aged the less well in FB) but then they still made him cut off his hair and give his feminine clothes to Kagura at the end so why lol. (And speaking of his episode introduction, I dislike that they cut off his conversation with Tohru after the suicide attempt, not only for Ritsu but also for Tohru cause it is one of the small instances bringing up her issues that is set up early on and that is crucial to her, but I’ll come back to this later.)
And now about the biggest problem to me being, the cut content and episodes rearangement. So, just so we’re clear, I definitely don’t think an anime adaptation needs to be a page-by-page adaptation of the manga to be good. Every decent adaptation needs to have changes, and the ones that tries to just follow the source material without any heart often tend to get pretty bad. So changes are good! Cut content are needed sometimes. But in Furuba 19, it really... wasn’t the case.
And the most unfortunate thing being that the one suffering the most from this is the show’s main character herself, Tohru.
So, obviously other characters also got done dirty by this; Yuki and Machi’s relationship was so incredibly shifted in the background and rushed it’s almost funny. I’m one of the people who thinks that, while I do think they’re cute, I definitely agree on the fact their relationship was a bit underdeveloped in the manga — and that Machi’s character especially suffered as a result by being a bit reduced to just "Yuki’s love interest" when she was a character with so much more to offer (and as a whole I also tend to agree with the fact that Yuki probably didn’t need a romance at all and that his arc is more meaningful while focusing on his platonic relationships, but that’s another topic entirely) — but man, if the manga already underdevelopped them, then ohhh boy, the anime just completely dropped the ball. It feels very odd because to me it seemed like season 2 was taking their time with setting them up, so if they knew they had only 13 episodes for season 3 then they should’ve started the changes there; instead we got 1 nice Yuki/Machi/Kakeru episode, and then it’s like "Yep, they’re in love, just trust me." (It does makes me wonder if season 3 wasn’t originally supposed to be longer but then got restrained because of budget or covid or something…) Kakeru also very much suffered because of them cutting off his girlfriend and his complicated relationship with Tohru… Now, to be honest, I’ve always found the Kakeru/Komaki/Tohru subplot pretty... contrived and useless, and Komaki’s not so much a character more than a device for Kakeru’s development, but it does have some good moments relevant to the story’s themes (I like the ‘‘you can’t play suffering olympics with people’s pain’’morale) and it is important to his character (and Komaki is cute, I admit), so it was still sad they shafted it entirely. (Also I kind of like the tense relationship between Tohru and Kakeru. The fact they both seem to not appreciate each other even afterwards feel sort of refreshing even if it’s never explored unfortunately orz.) I was still surprised they didn’t actually try to make a Komaki cameo at the end? Cause I think it would’ve fitted and Kakeru’s girlfriend had already been mentioned in season 2 but... for some reason they... didn’t. (Mayyybe we’ll get an OAV like with Kyoko and Katsuya? Who knows.)
One scene that was skipped/rearranged that I’m very bitter over is the whole Tohru/Kagura confrontation and Kagura/Rin scene — it might not seem like much, but the moment of Tohru refusing to forgive Kagura is very important, and I was pretty annoyed they turned Rin’s trauma response to Kagura’s violence and her subsequent apology/hug to a gag, it legit felt tasteless. The Tohrin scene they removed at the very end too was frustating; it was great they managed to fit in the "Rin doesn’t want to forgive Akito" bit at least (I was afraid they’d cut it off entirely), but it was so essential for her to say to Tohru, not to Haru and Momiji (plus the way they put it in felt very random and awkwardly placed there, when they were initially talking about Tohru before orz). OH AND the Akito/Hana friendship too! Yeah I know it’s not a Big deal but I absolutely love the little glimpses of their friendship and it’s very important to me so I’m disappointed over them not including the ‘Ah-chan’ scene… (It was kind of weird that the show sort-of implied Hana and Kazuma got together too cause that’s… not the vibe at all from the manga… oh well.)
Most people I’ve seen generally only bring up season 3 regarding the cuts/rearangement because it’s the most obvious and the biggest offender, but I personally think there were already problems with season 2 and 1. At first glance I didn’t have much issue with some of the rearrangement, because early Furuba can indeed be pretty episodic, but thinking back on it as a whole I think it might’ve been better to leave some stuff, like Hana and Uo’s episodes for example, to season 2 (I do wonder if they did this specifically so the reboot would offer original content and differ from 2001 early on...) and cut off other not-so-important things from S1 & S2 — because as a result season 2 kind of suffer a bit by being The Yuki Season, which, for as much as I love Yuki, did end up being a bit annoying and made his development feel less natural and gradual, as well as the fact it sidelined the other characters a little and left them with not much conclusion in its final. So this added to how much they ended up cutting in season 3, it makes the show as a whole feels really unequal. I think they did overall a good job in season 3 with what they had, and they really nailed some of the dramatic and Kyoru moments (the sheets scene, cliff confrontation and post-hospital confession were practically perfect), but it is a shame that it ended up as an extremely marathoned emotional roller-caster rather than a more well-paced watch that we would’ve had if it had been 20 or so episodes. (I know others argued that season 3 was what it was because there wasn’t enough content left to cover for 22 or 24 episodes, but I disagree and even if there weren’t, it would’ve been the perfect occasion to add original episodes then. But I think it was more of a budget and Covid issue personally.)
But anyway, all of this isn’t actually what I’m the most annoyed with (and YES that’s a already a lot lmao), those are stuff I can live with, but like I said earlier the most problematic is what they cut off from Tohru’s character. And that indeed includes her parents’ backstory.
So, just so I get this out of the way; yes, I do understand why people were relieved to not see Kyoko and Katsuya’s relationship play out on screen, and yes the age gap and teacher-student thing is creepy and I do kind of wish it hadn’t been written that way. (Though I was a bit amused by people who thought we didn’t get the backstory because of the questionable age gap when, uh... you know I very much doubt the anime industry has an issue with that. Like, to start with, we wouldn’t have had Uo and Kureno’s romance if that was the case (even if Uo and Kureno is less problematic, it’s still the same basis of a underage high school girl/20+ adult man relationship), and second there was a literal romcom anime about a high school girl and an adult man that was broadcasted at the same time as Furuba season 3 lmao. So nah, it wasn’t there the problem to them, it was just time and episode restriction, which was pretty much confirmed with the announcement of the OAV focused on them.)
So, Kyoko and Katsuya is definitely Problematic and I agree on their relationship being uncomfortable; however, I’m a bit baffled that people were literally cheering on not having that part in the show, because it is... it is not just like a small bit of family trivia, it is Extremely important and actively essential to Tohru’s character and Fruits Basket’s themes and narrative as a whole. It’s very important to understand Kyoko’s character, of course; to humanize her and finally present her as a very flawed person and not just the idealized mother that Tohru project upon her, and it is extremely important simply to understand Tohru herself as well; to understand where her way of thinking, her trauma and attitude stems from, and this in a way that just isn’t possible to see with the little fragments of that flashback we got or the bits of Kyo and Kyoko’s interactions.
See, Tohru’s character is principally constructed around two things; her grief over her mother and her almost-pathological selflesness and people-pleaser needs that comes from her abandonment issues and loneliness, and her arc is very much about letting go of both of these things and finally moving forward and letting her life change. There’s this perception of Tohru I see sometimes that she’s not a very interesting character especially compared to others like Yuki or Kyo, or that she ‘‘stays the same kindhearted, naive girl from start to finish,’’ and while I deeply disagree with this I know where it comes from. The thing with Tohru is that she is firstly an extremely emotionally repressed character, and so a lot of her depth and development is made through small, gradual details scattered throughout the manga. It’s done in such a way that except for some obvious scenes those small, apparently insignificant moments are easy to miss or disregarded, and unfortunately it is a lot of these details that the 2019 anime cut, or rearanged in a way that feel less impactful or makes less sense; such as, like I pointed out earlier, her conversation with Ritsu after his suicide attempt. As I’ve seen others point out, this result in altering Tohru’s portrayal and rendering her character mostly about her romance, undercutting and downplaying all of her small, subtle character moments and developments, and miss a bit the second part of the story where the narrative actively challenge the ‘savior/therapist/mom’ that other characters and Tohru herself projected upon her.
And as a result it also means undermining things like her parallel and relationship to Akito, which idealistically should’ve been slowly built up throughout the last season but because of how rushed season 3 was in the end felt a little flat. (Akito’s character in general had some issues also because of the unequal pacing and rearranged scenes, though admittedly I think this was also an issue present in the original manga.) Kyo’s character and his romance with Tohru is the one element that managed to get out of this mostly unscathed (although Kyo also does suffer a bit from it), but because of what was removed from Tohru’s character it still inevitably impacted them by making their characters as individuals lacking. It’s not like it is a complete failure, mind you; I think the anime at least did a decent job at showing Tohru is Not Okay even at the beginning in season 1 (they certainly did a better job at it than the 2001 one lol) and managed to roughly portray her issues well enough overall, but it is just… lacking in the subtlety and nuances that, to me, makes her character and writing really special and unique.
(This post explains what I’ve tried to say here in a much more eloquent and better way that I ever could, and this all put into perspective what I basically love so much about Tohru and Fruits Basket in general.)
And, you know, it would’ve been sad but comprehensible with any other character, but here we’re talking about the story’s literal protagonist, which is why it is the part of the adaptation that makes me feel the most bitter. Tohru and her story is truly amazing and well-written, the thing I was looking forward to the most with this reboot — and while I do understand the episode restriction and I do believe they still did their best with what they had — her arc still deserved to receive a full proper adaptation, not a kind-of-half one.
So, yes, I am at least glad they’ll adapt Kyoko and Katsuya’s story in OAV, but the fact that it will never be included in the actual main narrative is still actively detrimental to it, and it will never have the same effect that if it had been played out before the Kyoru sheets scene where it should’ve been. (I hope they also won’t cut the fact that their story is narrated by Kyo, because that is also a very important detail for both Kyo and the story, but I have the feeling they will…)
Welp, that was quite a long, messy rambling. Not sure if anyone will actually read all of it but if you did then congrats lol. I feel in the end I’ve been really harsh and negative with the reboot… I do love it a lot! If someone asked me I would wholeheartedly recommend it (though I guess I would still argue to read the manga first if you really want to experience the story in all its nuances). I think they truly did an impressive job — even with season 3, which a lot of its episodes were beautifully done and did make me tear up a few times lol. I’m just sad it couldn’t actually offer a better, more nuanced delivery of the story’s depths and of one of my favorite manga protagonists that means a lot to me. But that’s an adaptation that so many fans wanted for years and I’m happy and grateful it’s here cause Fruits Basket deserved at least that much!

(re)Watching Magia Record S1 - part 4
part 3 here
Hello everyone and welcome back to our... I don't know how to call this really, I'm more narrating what's happening in the screen than anything, but in any case today we are continuing what we have been doing these last few days.
Last time, we had an episode focused on the Momoko trio, got handed even more mysteries and had a brief cameo of our favorite drill-haired mahou shoujo. So what will this episode have in stock for us? Only one way to find out! (these introductions are getting cornier and cornier, I'm running out of ideas here.)
Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record S1 episode 4
Today, Iroha's visiting a chinese food restaurant on Mitama's recomendation. Well, I suppose even magical girls have to eat sometime.
But before that, let's wind back a little bit.
After the op, we get a little monologue from Iroha about "friends". It's probably obvious by now that she's not the biggest social butterfly out there, but this scene basically tells us that Iroha had no friends besides her missing sister, which just makes this even more sad, honestly. The solitary atmosphere of the first episode was no coincidence.
While dropping by Mitama's, Iroha hears from Momoko the aftermath of the fight with the Chain Witch from last episode. Momoko says everyone who had disappeared had come back safely, and says that might've not been a witch, but something lurking behind the rumor. The trio brings up some other weird rumors while Mitama desecrates a perfectly good cheesecake.
“Mitama-san, why“
Iroha asks if there's some rumor where people went missing and Momoko guesses correctly that she's wondering if her sister didn't get caught up in one of those. Sadly, they don't know any other rumor where people went missing besides the Staircase of Severance.
Oh my god Mitama is eating that thing, looks like the Coordinator's will be closed for a while.
The girls try to brainstorm some ways to look for Iroha's sister but, well...
Like this, Iroha just looks like some weird girl who insists her imaginary younger sister is real... which she might be, I wouldn't put that possibility past this series, but for now we are assuming her sister actually existed.
Iroha pokes in and says she'll do it herself, since she has no idea where to start investigating now and it'll probably turn into a long search anyway. Momoko's not very convinced. Mitama then hands Iroha Banbanzai's flyer and now we are back to the present.
In Banbanzai we meet Tsuruno Yui, Kamihama's (self-proclaimed) Strongest Magical Girl. The size of the dishes are also the strongest. One has to wonder how does Tsuruno explain to her father the "magical girl discount" she has going on.
Iroha eats a bit under the expectant eyes of Tsuruno and, when pressured for a rating she says...
50/100, or 2.5/5 when going by the occidental style rating. Tsuruno's shock here is impressive considering that's Banbanzai's usual rating no matter what it puts out. Hey, consistency is good!
After eating, Iroha apologizes for giving such a low rating despite getting free food, but Tsuruno explains basically what I wrote. Yes, Iroha, you guessed right.
Tsuruno apologizes for not having any hints in regards to her sister and, after getting Iroha to call her by her first name, says she'll try to introduce her to someone that might help her with investigating the strange rumors. Tsuruno is hesitant on the phone at first but quickly gets excited as the person on the other side of the line agrees to meet them right away. And the person they go meet is...
Yachiyo, obviously. She's like "I have no time for this" at first, but is stopped by a crying Tsuruno and ends up telling them about the rumor she's investigating.
The rumor Yachiyo's investigating right now is about the Seance Shrine. Basically, there's a rumor saying that if you visit a certain shrine, write the name of who you want to see on a ema and pray properly, you will meet that person. However, you'll be so happy you'll become unable to leave.
Yachiyo says while investigating she found some posts of people saying they actually met who they wanted to meet who disappeared afterwards. Tsuruno wonders if anyone has been declared missing and Yachiyo points out that even if there was, no one would think to attribute a missing person to a rumor.
Tsuruno has a eureka moment and asks if the Seance Shrine is Mizuna Shrine, but Yachiyo says she already tried and nothing happened... wait, hey Yachiyo, that's dangerous, what if it really was the right one? lol
Yachiyo says she already had low hopes, but if somewhere with so many visitors as Mizuna Shrine was the Seance Shrine, it would already be all over the news with the amount of people that would go missing... which is a very fair point.
So the girls have no choice but to go around and look for a less known shrine. For better or worse, there are a lot of them in Mizuna.
In one of them, Tsuruno finds a stamp rally going on in Mizuna Ward, and asks if that couldn't be a tip in regards to the rumor. Iroha's skeptical at first, but Yachiyo says they might as well do it, since it's better than looking around blindly.
While they walk around, Yachiyo tells Iroha the legend of the star-crossed lovers that was cited in the stamp rally paper. It's the tale of how two lovers of different social standings were separated by death (well, assassination), and then reunited after countless prayers from the princess. Iroha says that it's a lovely story, but Yachiyo doesn't seem to think the same.
Yachiyo then tells Iroha the hidden, true ending of the history, where the princess sacrifices all of the people of the town to their god in order to meet her beloved again.
and magical girls should know that better than anyone else.
A bit later, Tsuruno says doing this almost makes it feel like the old times, but Yachiyo just ignores her. Iroha asks if they've been close for a long time and Yachiyo says they used to be, but they're not anymore. Seeing from Tsuruno's behaviour, though, that's gotta be because of Yachiyo herself.
Iroha comments that even if it was a past relation, she's still jealous, since she's never had any friends besides Ui. Ui was everything to her, so now that she's gone, Iroha feels empty... it's a bit concerning that she feels like that when you consider her sister was ill enough that Iroha had to cure her with a wish. What would have happened had she not become a magical girl?
Yachiyo says, but this isn't the past to Iroha. She firmly believes that Ui must be out there somewhere, so she wants to find her as fast as possible. Yachiyo then tells her that if that's the case, she shouldn't be tied down by her past, she should become stronger, for her sister's sake.
Like that, they finally reach the Seance Shrine...
not. They end up back at Mizuna Shrine, which Yachiyo had already discarded as a possibility due to the number of people that would've gone missing if that had been the case. Yachiyo had thought that there had to be a connection between the rumor and the legend, so maybe they missed a hint somewhere. The trio doubles back for the day.
However, as they head back, something crucial dawns on Yachiyo:
She's a broke college student and today was 10xPoints Day.
Yachiyo gets Tsuruno and Iroha to help her and goes grocery shopping. Yachiyo tells Iroha about the points benefit, but Iroha has no idea what she's talking about, so Yachiyo says she's still a kid... yeah, but I think it would be weirder if a middle schooler knew about this stuff.
Being a magical girl sure is suffering. You get kidnapped from trains and buses, and can't even catch a sale without getting a witch as a freebie. There is no rest.
Here! I can finally comment that it creeps me out the fact that Iroha sleeps with a plushie of this thing. I know it's in this series' style to have weird things going on in the background, but still...
The fight starts and- Iroha why the heck are you going to the front what is that crossbow even for. Yachiyo tells Iroha to stay behind her, but Iroha's holding the idiot ball right now... partly because Yachiyo told her to get stronger, but still. Iroha shoots a few times at the witch, trips, misses espetacularly and almost becomes witch food. Great job, Iroha.
Now, while Iroha's hesitating about what to do, in comes Tsuruno.
Maybe not the best time to be striking poses, Tsuruno.
Iroha screws up once again and sends Tsuruno flying but, as expected of the (self-proclaimed) Mightiest, she still makes short work of the witch (also probably because we're running out of time for this episode).
I'm guessing Iroha's magic in combinations just makes the other person's magic stronger. Kinda lame when you think about the previous two examples, but I guess that's standard for light magic in games... it's already weird enough that their magic has attributes at all but, oh well, game logic.
In the end, poor Yachiyo missed the sale. However, thanks to not being blinded by shiny discounts, she realized something important they were forgetting about the rumor.
Sure enough, just like Yachiyo said, Seance Shrine really was Mizuna Shrine at night. When they walk in...
The extremely suspicious chibi Kyuubei appears. I was going to say it that it only appears in rumors, but the first time it appeared was in a witch Labyrinth, so that's not it either... wait, wasn't it singing a song about rumors the first time Iroha met it? Hmmm...
In any case, the group heads further in, and the rumor very kindly gives them some plaques. Yachiyo tells Tsuruno not to write anything, since they don't know what'll happen and they'd both write the same name anyway.
The plaques turn into something like familiars as soon as they finish writing, and Tsuruno is held back for not writing anything. Iroha hesitates a second with Tsuruno being attacked, but obeys when Tsuruno tells her to go ahead and take care of Yachiyo... I, uh... have a feeling the opposite scenario is more likely, though.
Yachiyo and Iroha go ahead and offer their prayers. Then, when Iroha opens her eyes...
they are at a different place, and what both of them see is...
The people they longed to meet.
Iroha's time has begun to move again.
---- x ----
Aaaand that was episode 4. This time, I wasn't dumb and actually checked the episode was over before starting to write the closing part.
This is probably true of the previous episodes too, but I particularly like how the colors are used in this one. The tale part had not really the same sepia tone of historical things, but more of a celestial yellow tone, and the part at the witch labyrinth in the supermarket has a cute candy-like tone to it. It's not the same subdued kind of realistic thing like in, say, SSSS.Gridman, but there are some good, calm parts in here.
During the rally, when Iroha was telling Yachiyo about not having anything besides Ui, the procession they were walking in the middle of is a reference to Kitsune no Yomeiri I think, but I couldn't really connect the situation or what they were talking about to the tale so I decided to not point it out up there. Do feel free to search about it and draw your own conclusions.
I forgot what else I wanted to say, so I guess I should tie this up now. Did you know? Writing the introduction and close-up is actually harder than writing about the episode itself so you'll have to forgive me for not being able to think up anything besides "see you next time". In fact...
See you next time, on episode 5!

[Diabolik Lovers: Dark Fate] Kou Mukami Maniac 08 Translation
Please no reposting onto other sites, just link back to this post-and ask me before translating this into other languages!
Scene: Bedroom
Yui: Ah.. the water's warm temperature was just right.
Yui: (I wonder when the last time I took a bath like this was.)
Yui: (I finally get a moment of peace...all thanks to Mertz.)
Kou: Tch, I wanted to take a bath with you.
Yui: W-With me...
Kou: It's alright, you know. There's nothing left that you could hide from me.
Yui: (Why does he make everything sound so embarassing...Or is that just my mind.)
Kou: Ah, I've had enough.
Kou gets closer
Yui: Kya....!
Yui: K-Kou, you're heavy.
Kou:..You smell so nice. Your hair and body are so soft and smooth.
Yui: Kou... It's ticklish whenever you whisper into my ear.
Kou: It's okay for just a little bit.
Selection
♥It is, but...
Yui: It's fine, but...
Kou: But...what?
Yui: If Mertz comes in, he'll think something else...So, we should be more modest.
Kou: What if I show you off to him instead?
Yui: N-No don't.
Kou: Hahah, kidding. I just wanted to see your expression after saying that.
Kou: You know I'm the only one you can show off to.
💔We shouldn't
Yui: We shouldn't do this. Doing this in someone else's house...
Kou: But it's been such a long time since we've been able to have some peace.
Yui: Yeah, but...
Kou: Why not?
Yui: (I don't think he'll do anything too crazy, but...)
Kou: Anyways, this castle...even though its in the human world, it's giving me a creepy feeling.
Kou: I wonder if that guy was actually serious when he said there was a special curse around here.
Yui: Yeah...He said that the founders wouldn't be able to find us here. That's a great relief.
Kou: I still dont trust that person.
Yui: Kou...
Kou: Besides, they're strong. I'm not saying that just because I lost. They're called the founders for a reason.
Kou: Nothing has happened yet....But, I'm sure they're gonna make their next move soon.
Yui: Yeah...
Kou:...But I dont want to think about all of that right now. I just want to embrace your body.
Kou kisses her
Yui:n...
Kou: Nice voice...n...
Yui:....
Yui: (Kou...is kissing me so sweetly.)
Yui: (It's like whenever he usually sucks my blood...he's holding me softly.)
Yui: (...I feel warm. It feels so nice...)
Kou:...Hahah, your skin is all pink.
Yui: It's because I just got out of the bathtub...
Kou: Ah? Is it really just because of that?
Yui:...Kou, wait..!
Kou: You don't want to touch me?
Yui: It's not that, but...
Kou: But, what?
Yui: It's embarassing...
Kou: Hm, but I don't mind.
Yui: Eh...! K-Kou...
Kou: Show me more of your blushing face.
Yui:....!
Kou:..Hey, just a little longer...is fine right?
Kou: You can endure it. Just a little bit...
Yui: (Ah...his fangs are at my neck.)
Kou bites
Kou:...Mm..
Yui: Ah...
Kou:...Ah, I need more... Damn, what is this...
Yui: (I'm getting dizzy...)
Yui: (I can't think clearly...How much further...)
Kou: I can't stop...just yet.
Yui: Ah...!
Kou:..You're so pretty, Yui.
Yui:....
Kou: Does it feel nice?
Yui:...Yeah.
Kou: I...feel really good too.
Kou: Ah, I can't go further, I feel like I could die.
Yui: Kou...
Kou:...Ah what'll I do...
Yui: Hahah...
Kou: Who are you laughing at.
Yui: You look cute when you're troubled over soemthing.
Kou: And who's fault is that.
Yui: Ah! Don't pinch my nose.
Kou: Now who's the cute one.
Yui: (Kou's arm is around me...I feel so warm.)
Kou: Ah I feel like I don't need anything more than this. My strength is already giving out.
Kou: Just staying like this, not doing anything else...It's a first.
Kou: I feel complete, I could get used to this...
Yui: Kou...
Kou: I went through life feeling like a part of me was missing,
Yui: (Kou lived on his own for a really long time...)
Kou: I dont want to change any of this, I just want to be together with you...
Yui:...And we will be.
Yui: (I don't know what the founders will do to us, but...I'll never leave him alone. Never.)
Yui: Kou, here.
Kou:...The rosary?
Yui: I'm giving it to you.
Kou: Isn't that really important to you?
Yui: Yeah, and that's why I want you to keep it. There's nothing wrong with that, is there?
Kou:....
Kou: Then, I'll give you this instead.
Yui: Your ring...
Kou: Keep it on all the time. To show everyone that you're mine.
Kou: Here, give me your hand. I'll put it on for you.
Yui:...Okay, thank you.
Yui: (It's a little to big for me, but it looks like an engagement ring...I'm so happy.)
Kou: You too, put the rosary on me.
Yui: Okay...
Kou:...Hahah. I guess it's pretty weird for a vampire to be carrying around a rosary.
Yui: It suits you really well though.
Kou: It does? Really?
Yui: Yeah. Very much.
Kou: I see...thanks.
Mertz comes in
Mertz: Excuse me.
Yui: Mertz...!
Kou:...Shouldn't you knock?
Mertz: Something urgent came up. The demon lord's castle has been attacked.
Kou: The demon lord's castle...!?
Yui: It's not...the founders right?
Kou:..It's possible. We can never tell with the lunar eclipse.
Yui: Then where the others are staying at is dangerous too...
Kou:....
Ending Monologue Selection
With our whispers of love, childish promises, and child-like gestures we comforted each other.
However---The joy always escapes us at some point.
The clock we're unable to see brings us back to reality.
...But, all of this is okay. As I breathe slowly, I touch the ring that Kou gave me.
With the courage from the promise we made and the proof of our love---I'm sure that everything will be okay.

jdjsjfjeedndnddk I read your Claudette marriage post and OMG jdjsnfsjd I /have/ to request a marriage scenario for Yui, Dwight, and Jake fnsnfnendndmddk I would die so happily at that spot if I saw any of those three in any kind of formal wear aaaaa 💕☀️ as always I love your content and I'm here for it !!!! 💜💜💜 Have a wonderful day!! 🌻
man i’d marry all three of them in a heartbeat...
Marriage Headcanons
Dwight Fairfield
Dwight is the one that asks you to marry him. He tries his best to make something cute for you to remember -- but it’s mostly because he fears that if his ask isn’t good enough, you’ll say no. He’s terrified of being turned down.
He spends weeks with Claudette (even Max at times), learning how to make decorations out of flowers. It’s one of the few things he has an abundance of in the fog. He’s clumsy and finds working with such small, fragile little flowers very difficult. But he tries his best.
The day of the proposal comes. He takes you into the woods, holding your hand. Going for a walk, as... Usual. Right? Nothing different about this, no. Except that he has a few random petals stuck to his shirt and he looks extremely frazzled. You pretend you don’t notice.
He’s decked out a small area with absolutely adorable decorations. Trees are covered with flowers and vines. You see a small Dwight-shaped dent on the floor where he’s obviously fell from a tree. He looks incredibly nervous as he asks if you like it. You’re distracted as you look around, but that’s fine. He knew you would be. You wander over to a tree, where something has been carved into the bark. It’s his initials with yours. Your heart flutters. You turn around to say something, but find him on the floor. Down on one knee. His face is bright red and he’s trying very hard to look you in the eye. He asks you to marry him, his voice quaking.
Obviously you accept, don’t even fight me. He’s a cutie.
Wedding day comes. You make do with what you can in the fog. The Doctor hears about your wedding and insists on being your officiator, but you somehow manage to worm your way out of it. Ash ends up doing it. He cracks jokes the entire time, but he’s smiling and you can see he’s genuinely really happy for you two. Also? Bill walks you down the make-shift aisle.
Dwight’s wearing black trousers, a grey waistcoat, and a white shirt. There’s a pink flower tucked into the pocket of the coat, and it suits the blush on his face.
He’s so nervous that when he tries to say his vows to you (that he wrote himself!), he stutters and and chokes. He says sorry, but a patient smile from you spurs him on.
If you don’t think he cries at his own wedding, then you’re wrong.
If you take his last name, he is so happy. Literally overjoyed. Sometimes he gets all giddy and giggly and holds your hands and grins as he’s like, “Mrs/Mr Fairfield, I love you : )”
Jake Park
Much more chill about it. There’s not so much planning, but that’s fine. That’s not who he is. He gets you alone, both of you just lying next to a makeshift fire he’s made away from the main camp. He’s running his fingers through your hair, watching the light of the flames dance across your cheeks. He softly calls your name, and you look up at him. He smiles. It’s so nice to see his calm moments where he doesn’t have to worry about anything else.
“What would you say,” he starts, mouth pulled into a lopsided grin. “If a certain someone was to ask you to marry him?”
You blink at him, confused. It takes you a few seconds to get what he’s hinting. You giggle nervously and ball his shirt into your fists. “Don’t know,” you glance at him. “Depends who it is.” “Tall. Scruffy hair, dark eyes. People think he’s pretty weird, you wouldn’t know him. Think he’s called Jake.”You play along, your cheeks going red. He’s grinning at you with a goofy smile. “Jake... Jake... It’s ringing a bell. I don’t think he’s so bad. I might say yes.” He nods, pretending to think it over. And then he meets your eyes, and casually just, “hey, I’m Jake. Will you marry me?” You snort and nod, and he pulls you deeper into his arms. He’s so dumb, but you love him for it.
Wedding is a small thing. He didn’t even want everyone to come, but you put a stop to that. All the survivors are invited. Some of the killers are even there. You’re pretty sure that you saw the Demogorgon stuffing his entire face into a bouquet that Claudette gave you. Whatever. As long as no one’s getting hurt.
Jake’s somehow managed to scrounge up something decent to wear. You see Dwight fixing Jake’s tie for him like a mother hen while Jake complains. It’s cute. Dwight’s his best man and he takes that job seriously.
For some reason, Ace is the one that officiates. He practically demands the job. He’s surprisingly very good at it. Could he have dabbled in it back in Vegas? Who knows.
He tries to wear his scarf for the wedding but Dwight practically wrestles him down for you to take it away.
It’s a fun time all around honestly. He pretends like he’s bothered by so many little things, but he loves the day so so much. You look perfect. He’s glad his friends are there.
The night does end with dancing. Jake refused to dance, so Ace grabs your hand and moves to take the dance for him, but... Jake quickly pushes in and steals your hand back to dance : )
Yui Kimura
Yui didn’t think she’d ever be married. It just wasn’t something that ever crossed her mind. But then you came along. She asks you to marry her in the heat of the moment during a trial.
She’d been forced to watch you dance around, avoiding the killer’s attacks. She was on a hook, she couldn’t help! When you’d been hit the first time, she’d decided enough was enough. Yui yeeted herself straight off the hook. It caused enough surprise to throw the killer off, and she grabbed your hand and made a break for it. Both of you were injured, but she managed to get you out of harms way.
Now, picture you both collapsing against a wall, wheezing tiredly. Yui shifts around to your front and grabs your face in her hands. “Don’t do that!” She hisses. You can see the fear in her eyes. The fear of losing you.
She goes silent for a few moments, thinking. And then she blurts it out.
“Marry me.”
It’s more of a command than a question. You can’t refuse. Please attack her with happy kisses.
Yui struggled with the wedding. She wasn’t sure whether she wanted to wear a suit or a dress. You tell her she could wear literal leaves and still be the prettiest woman on earth. The thought makes her giggle.
She ends up wearing a dress. She looks fucking fantastic. You cannot pry the goggles from her, however. She gets married in those. She also wears biker boots underneath a knee-length white dress. She’s so fucking cool.
If you’re a girl/on the more feminine side, she’s the one that waits at the alter. And that’s fine! She just really wanted to see you walking over to her. Bill ends up officiating this time -- mostly because Yui wasn’t entirely sure she could trust anyone else with an important job like that. Ash walks you down the aisle, cracking jokes the entire time. If you’d prefer to be the one at the alter, that’s fine too! It’s the same setup, just you’ve switched places.
If her bike is somehow in the fog, you can bet your ass that someone has taken it upon themselves to put “Just Married” on the back, followed with clanking empty cans.
Should you be the smaller of the couple, Yui can and will swipe you off your feet the moment you’re told to kiss.

Diabolik Lovers VANDEAD CARNIVAL ;; Present from Mukami [PART 2]
ー The scene starts in the kitchen
Yui: Okay...The oven is preheated.
( ...Once the tart crust finished baking, I’ll pour the custard cream inside. )
( Then after putting plenty of Yuma-kun’s homegrown fruits on top, it’ll be ready. )
( I just have to wait for it to finish baking now, so I suppose I could go check up on the others... )
Selection
→ Check up on the nearby duo
Yuma: Ow!!
Yui: A-Are you okay, Yuma-kun!?
Yuma: Aahn? When did I ask for yer concern?
Yui: B-But...Your finger’s bleeding! We have to clean the wound and disinfect it right away...
Yuma: Aah? You’re fussin’ way too much. A lil’ saliva will do the trick just fine, geez. ...Nn...
Yui: ( Will he be okay...? )
Yuma: Oi, Sow...Don’t be starin’ my way. You’re distractin’ me...
Yui: I-I’m sorry...! Um...I just thought there might be something I can help with...
Yuma: There isn’t.
Ruki: Yuma, don’t be so harsh. You haven’t been making much progress this whole time. I’m sure there’s some tasks you can give her.
Yuma: Ugh...That’s not true...
Ruki: Don’t lie. There aren’t enough ingredients for the soup. If you can’t cut these vegetables, I’m putting someone else in charge.
Yuma: Ah, ya can’t! I’ll cut these!
Yui: ( I can tell he’s really motivated... )
( I wonder what he’s making...? )
( Ah...This scent coming from the pot... )
( It’s consommé...! )
Um, Yuma-kun? I’ll help out where I can!
Yuma: Fuck off!! There’s nothin’ for ya to help me with!!
Yui: ...Sorry...
Ruki: Yuma. Ask for help just for today. You’re going to cut these vegetables?
Yuma: ...Yeah, that’s the plan but it’s not really workin’ out as I’d like.
Yui: ( There’s several incisions... )
( I wonder if he’s trying to cut them into a certain shape...? )
Yuma-kun, are you cutting these in shapes?
Yuma: ...Shapes.
Yui: ...?
Yuma: Are you deaf!? I said star shapes!!
Yui: Star...shapes...?
Yuma: What!? Is it that weird I want to cut them into damn stars!?
Yui: N-No, it’s not strange at all. I’m just a little surprised, that’s all...
Yuma: ...We looked at them over at the deli counter when we went shoppin’, remember? Heart and star shapes...
I want to try that as well! Get it now!?
Yui: Y-Yeah.
Ruki: Yuma, stop losing your temper while holding a kitchen knife.
Also, it doesn’t matter if they’re shaped like stars or not, just cut them regularly.
Yuma: I’m strugglin’ ‘cause I can’t do that!
Yui: ( Honestly, it’s kind of a rare sight to see Yuma-kun get so serious about cooking... )
( Also, when I think he’s cutting them into stars, I can’t help but find that kind of cute! )
Ruki: Yuma. You’re being laughed at.
Yui: ...!!
Yuma: Aah!? What’s so damn funny, huh!?
Yui: I-It isn’t! I just thought everyone would be happy if they were star-shaped!
( I’m sure chaos will break loose if I call him cute... )
Yuma: Hah! That’s exactly why I’m tryin’ to cut these carrots into stars!
Ruki: It won’t make a difference in taste though.
Yuma: Ya eat with yer eyes too, right!?
Ruki: But there’s no point if it gets in the way of actually completing the dish, right?
Yui: W-Wait! I know a good hack!
( I feel as if they’ll start a discussion if I leave these two be now... )
Yuma: Oh...! For real!?
Yui: Yeah!
Um...It’d be a piece of cake if you have cookie cutters.
Yuma: Ahー Now that ya mention it, I’m pretty sure we have some of those layin’ ‘round?
Yui: Really?
( I’m honestly a little surprised we’ll easily find some cookie cutters in this house’s kitchen... )
Yuma: Let’s just say Azusa likes to use those for his own pleasure.
Yui: ( ...What on earth is he doing with them...? )
Yuma: Whatcha gettin’ all down for? Don’t worry. They’re still unused.
Yui: That’s not the problem!
*Rustle*
Yuma: Here, this is what you mean, right?
Yui: Yeah! It should be easy with these!
You cut the carrots into slices first and then use the cookie cutter to cut out the shape.
Yuma: Heehー I’m pretty sure I can pull that off on my own. No need to help me.
Yui: Eh? ...I-I’ll help out as well!
Yuma: Well, Ruki’s been on my case as well, so I guess I’ll leave those veggies up to ya.
Yui: Yeah, thanks. I’ll carefully cut them.
Yuma: ‘Course! These are the veggies I poured my heart and soul into after all!
*Chop chop chop*
Ruki: You’re finally providing the ingredients, it seems. I’m sure I’ll be able to create a nice-tasting dish with these.
Yui: These vegetables make a big difference after all, don’t they?
Ruki: Exactly.
*Chop chop chop*
Yui: ( ーー There we go. I guess we finished chopping everything up for the soup? )
Ruki-kun, can I put them inside?
Ruki: Yeah, I’ll leave that up to you. Yuma, how are those star-shaped carrots looking?
Yuma: Perfect! It’d be borin’ to just put them in the soup, so I made enough to sprinkle on top of the salad as well!
Ruki: ...Do you like them?
Yuma: Yeah! It’s kind of fun to pop them out one after the other! I wonder if there’s anythin’ else I can cut with these?
Yui: Then let’s make cookies next time! I’m sure you’ll be able to put those to great use!
Yuma: Why ‘later’? We still have time to make some, no?
Ruki: ...Right. It should be fun to have one additional dish.
Yui: Then, for the recipe, it’s in this book so...
Yuma: Oh! I’ll get to it then!
Ruki: Seems like Yuma really took a liking to cutting out shapes. Well, I guess we can let him have his fun.
Yui: Fufu, right...!
Ruki: Well then, shall we taste the soup? ...I’m curious.
Yui: ( Yuma-kun is having fun, but Ruki-kun seems to be enjoying himself as well. )
Ruki: ...
...
...What? If you have the time to stand there watching me, then start moving those hands already. Get on with your own task.
Yui: Y-Yeah...Right. Sorry. However...
Ruki: ...?
Yui: U-Um, I’m curious about the taste of the soup as well...So I was wondering if you’d let me have a little sip?
Ruki: ...Be my guest. However, it’s just average. Something is missing...
We need to think about the balance with the other dishes as well. I can’t make the taste any richer. Should I add more water...?
Yui: Hm...You’re right. I do think it is plenty delicious already, but...
Ruki: Nobody asked for your opinion, but I suppose I’ll let you think about it if you want to.
Yui: ( Hm, let’s see...It might be good to draw out the flavor of the vegetables a little more. )
Ruki: Should we add more acidity from the tomatoes?
Yui: Ah, wait. In that case, why don’t we try adding a bit of lemon juice?
Ruki: Lemon juice...? It would work the same in terms of adding acidity, I suppose...
Yui: They’re fresh vegetables, so I feel like it’s adding a lot of sweetness.
Ruki: ...I see. I suppose I’ll try adding some then.
Yui: Yeah! What do you think...?
Ruki: Not bad. Seems like it was a clever suggestion coming from someone like you. Want to try it?
Yui: Can I? Thank you!
...Yeah, it’s delicious!
Ruki: Right? I’m looking forward to serving this to the others as well.
Yui: ( Ruki-kun looks happy. I hope everyone else will like it too... )
Ruki: I suppose I should lower the heat so it doesn’t overcook. Okay, next up’sーー
Yuma: Say, it slipped my mind for a sec, but...
But what are we doin’ with this turkey?
Ruki: Aah, that one. I bought it because it’s a staple of any Christmas feast, however...
Yui: ( They’re both looking at... )
Me!?
Ruki: You’re the one who brought it up, so I assume you know how to prepare it?
Yui: Ah, yeah. For the most part...
Yuma: ‘Kay. We’ll leave this bad boy up to ya then.
I’ll get back to my cookies.
Ruki: Good idea. It’d be a waste of time for all three of us to work on the same dish. You should do it.
Yui: ( ... )
( I feel as if this was kind of pushed on me... )
*TIMESKIP*
Ruki: ーー We’re pretty much done. How’s your chicken looking?
Yui: Yeah, I think it’ll be okay...Yuma-kun, how’s the cooking time?
Yuma: It’s lookin’ hella good. Smells nice from the herbs, no?
Ruki: ...It definitely triggers the appetite. Okay, let’s get to plating them.
Yui: ( Thank god. I was honestly a little worried when they left it up to me. )
I’ll put out the plates then!
Ruki: Yeah, thank you.
Also, I’d like to carry all finished dishes to the dining room if they’re done with the decorations over there.
Yuma: Speak of the devil.
ー Kou and Azusa enter the kitchen
Kou: We’ve come to check up on you guys~ How are things looking on your end? ...Wait.
Waah! It smells great here! Seems like you guys safely got everything ready in time as well~
Yui: Yeah, we just need to put everything on the plates and carry them to the dining room. How are the decorations looking?
Azusa: Just fine...Kou said that we should...make the final touches together...
Ruki: The final touches...? I’m not sure what you’re talking about, but I suppose we should get all the food ready first.
Yui: Yeah!
→ Go to the dining room
ー The scene shifts to the dining room
Kou: Ah, M-neko-chan! Did you come to help us out? I’m so glad~!
Yui: Yeah! I came here hoping there was still something I could help out with but...It seems like you’re almost ready with the preparations.
Kou: Pretty much! We’d get scolded by Ruki-kun if we slack off after all!
Yui: Fufu, good point. You have to finish before they do, or the food will go cold after all.
The table looks completely different from usual as well. Just a few hours left till we can get this Christmas party started!
Azusa: Say, Eve? Am I doing it right? I’m lining up the stuff we bought today. Tell me if I made a mistake, okay...?
Yui: Don’t worry! You didn’t make any mistakes.
( The Christmas-colored table mats are so cute! )
( The napkins placed at every seat are lovely as well. And above all... )
( Seeing those candles kind of takes me back to the Mass at Church. )
Azusa: Is something the matter?
Yui: Ah, no. I’m just looking forward to spending Christmas in such a wonderfully decorated room.
Azusa: I’m glad you like it...
*Cling*
Azusa: ...Fufu, this is the last one. The table has been all set...
Yui: All of the silverware has been polished to perfection. Did you do this too?
Azusa: Yeah. It’s especially important to sharpen the knives, or they won’t cut as well, right?
Yui: Sounds like something you would think of.
Kou: Hm. Props to you for getting all of M-neko-chan’s praise, Azusa-kun.
Yui: ...Kou-kun? Is something wrong?
Kou: Nn~ I’m just a little jealous of Azusa-kun.
Yui: Eh? J-Jealous?
Kou: Fufu, just a little bit? You’re only giving him compliments after all.
Yui: You did an amazing job too. You put together the Christmas tree, right?
Kou: Yeah, exactly~ Fufu, it really does feel nice to get praised by you!
That being said, I’m still in the middle of decorating it though.
Azusa: Is that so? In that case, I’ll help out. I’m done with my work after all.
Yui: Decorating the tree, right? I’ll lend a hand too!
Kou: Okay! Let’s decorate it all together then.
Azusa: The tree...It looks prickly...
Yui: Fufu, it really does!
Azusa-kun, you hang ornaments on the branches like this.
Azusa: I wouldn’t mind if the tree decorated me with its needles.
Kou: Pfft! Azusa-kun...Geez! We obviously can’t let that happen.
Yui: E-Exactly, Azusa-kun!
Azusa: ...Is that so? That’s a little disappointing. I’m sure that having my whole body stabbed by those needles is a pain I can only experience today...
Kou: I don’t mean to judge you for your personal preferences, but today you can’t do that.
Azusa: I couldn’t have my knife...And I’m not allowed to stab myself with the tree either...Is Christmas really supposed to be fun?
*Rustle*
Yui: Azusa-kun, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it! Christmas has to be a precious time you spend with family after all...
Azusa: Eve...
Yui: ( Ah, I grabbed his hand in the spur of the moment, but... )
I’m sorry. Um...I just want you to understand. I’m sure it’ll be fun, so let’s try and forget about pain for today?
Azusa: ...Sure. If you insist...
Kou: Haah, thank god. Well then, let’s get back on track and decorate the tree!
*TIMESKIP*
Azusa: Hey, look. This soft, fluffy padding. If you put it underneath your mouth, it looks like a white beard.
Yui: Fufu, you’re right. You look like Santa Claus right now.
Azusa: Santa...Claus?
Yui: Yeah. Santa Claus comes to visit on his sleigh every year on Christmas day, you see.
Then he gives presents to all good children.
Azusa: Heeh...
I’ve never met him but...I see...Only to good children, huh...?
Kou: Pretty sure nobody in this household qualifies~ (1)
Well, getting our hands on what we want with brute force fits us much better anyway, don’t you think so, M-neko-chan~?
Yui: ( Um... )
Azusa: Kou is right...
Yui: Y-You too, Azusa-kun...!?
Azusa: Fufu...
Yui: ( I feel as if I shouldn’t linger on this topic for too long... )
U-Um...Kou-kun? Could you put this on the tree for me?
Azusa-kun, you should continue decorating as well, okay...?
Kou: Fufu, right! Right now we have to stick to the Christmas mood!
Azusa: What should I do with this cotton padding then?
Yui: Ah, right. It’s something meant to mimic snow, so you have to tear it up and sprinkle it across the branches.
Azusa: Okay, gotcha.
Kou: Can I just put these bells and snowman ornaments wherever I want?
Yui: Yeah, they don’t have a set place or anything. I’ll leave it up to your personal taste.
( I should get to decorating as well. )
*TIMESKIP*
Yui: ( ...Every year, I would always decorate the tree by myself instead of Father since he was so busy. )
( However, this year... )
...
Kou: What’s wrong, M-neko-chan? Your hands have stopped moving?
Azusa: Is something bothering you?
Yui: ( I’m decorating with everyone. Fufu, I’m kind of happy. )
No, it’s nothing. Let’s put on the lights once we’re finished with the ornaments!
Kou: Roger! I’m so excited to put the lights on~ They’re the thing I had the most trouble choosing at the store.
Yui: I see.
Kou: We chose them together. Ruki-kun has that cool image so he’s black, no?
Azusa: Yuma is orange...right?
Kou: Exactly! We chose our own favorite color.
And this light pink is you! Fits you perfectly, no?
Yui: Waah! I’m so happy! ...Thank you!
Azusa: Fufu, I’m glad you’re happy.
Yui: Let’s put them on then.
( Covering the whole surface... )
( ... )
( ... )
( Yeah, this should do...! )
Azusa: I finished adding the cotton decorations.
Yui: I’m done over here as well!
Kou: The ornaments are looking perfect as well! In that case, let’s test whether the lights work or not.
Yui: Yeah! Good idea.
Kou: Here we go! Lights on!
*Click*
Yui: Wah...How beautiful. There’s different colors lighting up.
Kou: We made the right choice! I’m looking forward to enjoying these all together!
Azusa: Yeah, it’s really...pretty.
Kou: Right~? I can’t wait to show Ruki-kun and the others!
Yui: ( Huh? But I feel as if something is missing. I wonder what...? )
( We put plenty of ornaments and lights on the tree... )
Kou: Hm...? What’s wrong, M-neko-chan?
Yui: Ah, yeah...I feel as if it’s not quite right yet...
Kou: Could it be this, perhaps?
Yui: Ah! The big star you put on the very top of the tree!
Azusa: ...Once we add that to the tree...It’ll become even more beautiful, right? Let’s put it on, Kou...
Kou: Nu-uh~ This is a special star, so I thought it’d be better to put it on once all five of us have gathered here together.
Azusa: ...I see. Yeah...Good point.
Yui: In that case, let’s go check up on them once we’re done here.
ー Ruki enters the room
*Thud*
Yui: Ah...
Ruki: I’ve come to check up on your process. Are you done with the decorations?
Azusa: Yeah, we just finished. What do you think?
Ruki: ...Yeah, it looks beautiful. The three of you really tried your best.
Kou: Hooray! Nothing quite boosts one’s self-confidence like a compliment from Ruki-kun!
Azusa: Yeah, me too...I’m very happy.
Kou: Say, Azusa-kun, M-neko-chan? Can you both raise your hands for a sec?
Azusa: What...?
Yui: ...?
*Tap*
Yui: Kyah!?
Azusa: Wah! W-What was that...?
Kou: A high five! It’s a way to celebrate a shared success! I’m looking forward to Yuma-kun’s reaction as well~
Azusa: Yeah...I put Yuma through a lot of trouble earlier...So I hope he’ll like it...
Yui: I’m sure he will! I’m excited.
Ruki: There’s no shame in rejoicing, but there’s still some work left. We’ll carry the food here. Lend me a hand.
Yui: Yeah!
( I’m sure the crust should be about done by now as well... )
( I’ll go finish it by adding the custard and fruits! )
*TIMESKIP*
*Thud*
Yui: This should be the final plate of food, right?
Ruki: Yeah. We’ve carried everything here. Yuma, pour our drinks.
Yuma: Already on it.
*Cling*
Yui: ( The candles have been lit and there’s a warm buffet laid out. The room is decorated as well... )
Kou: Haah~ Looking good, don’t you think~? Seeing all these different dishes lined up on the table~
Azusa: Looks delicious...
Yuma: It doesn’t just ‘look’ good. I can promise ya the taste won’t disappoint either. Ya better look forward to it!
Kou: Geez, you’re way too excited, Yuma-kun.
I can’t wait to try this cake loaded with fruit you made either.
Yui: Really? I’m glad to hear that.
Ruki: You two gave it your best shot as well. The elaborate decorations help lighten the mood up as well.
Yuma: Hell yeah. When the room is decorated this way, I immediately get those ‘today’s a special day’ vibes.
Altho it still feels a little weird for us Vampires to celebrate Christmas.
Ruki: Haha, you have a point.
It may be strange for us Vampires, but this day only comes once a year. It shouldn’t hurt to celebrate every once in a while, right?
Kou: I appreciate all the praise, but we’re not quite done yet~
Yuma: Aahn? Whatcha mean?
Azusa: We have to put the biggest star on the very top of the tree.
Ruki: ...? Why did you not put it on yet?
Kou: Eeh~? I mean, this is such a rare occasion, so I wanted all of us to be here and witness its completion.
Yuma: I see. Sounds good? I don’t dislike that way of thinkin’.
Azusa: Well then, Kou. Here. Put it on top.
Yui: ( Azusa-kun is handing the star to Kou-kun... )
Kou: Thank you, Azusa-kun. Well then...Here, M-neko-chan~
Yui: ...Eh?
Kou: None of this would have happened if it wasn’t for you after all.
So I want to leave this up to you!
Yui: No way...Are you sure I can put it on?
Ruki: Don’t sweat the details. If you don’t put that on, we can never get the party started.
Yuma: Oi, Sow. Get on with it.
Azusa: ...Put it on with your very own hands.
Yui: Thank you guys. Well then...
*Rustle*
Kou: Ready? Lights on!
*Click*
Ruki: Hooh...
Yuma: Wow! What’s this? I didn’t know these trees light up!
Azusa: ...I like Christmas.
Yui: ( How pretty. I could gaze at it forever... )
Kou: Well then, we’ve finished decorating so let’s get to our seats and eat now!
Yuma: Yeah! Nothin’ like enjoyin’ a meal surrounded by those shimmerin’ lights!
ー Everyone sits down at the table
Ruki: Oi, Yui. You should sit down as well.
Yuma: Geez, ya slowpoke! Whatcha doin’? Hurry up and get yer ass over here.
Kou: Come on, we’re going to get started without you, M-neko-chan!
Azusa: Eve, hurry...Everyone already took a seat.
Yui: Ah, yeah, wait! I’ll be there in a sec...
*Cling cling*
Everyone: Merry Christmas.
Yuma: ‘Kay! Time to chow down!
Ruki: Thank you for the meal.
Kou: I’m digging in~!
Azusa: ...Let me have a taste...
Yui: Thanks for the meal!
Kou: Mmh~! Yuma-kun’s vegetables never fail to amaze me!
Yuma: I’m the one who grew them, so they’re obviously gonna be delicious!
Azusa: ...Nom, nom.
Ruki: I’m glad you’re all enjoying it.
Kou: Although I’m a little curious about these oddly-shaped vegetables.
Yuma: The taste’s still the same so whatever!!
Ruki: Yuma, don’t shout too loud.
Yuma: Che...Those are the duds. There’s some proper stars in there as well.
Kou: ...These are supposed to be stars!?
Ruki: Right. Yuma shed blood, sweat and tears to make those.
Azusa: ...The fruit tart you made is delicious. The crust is crisp...
Yui: I’m glad to hear that. Yuma-kun is the one who grew the fruits on top as well.
Azusa: Yuma is amazing. I don’t think I could ever grow vegetables...
Ruki: Yuma is great at taking care of things after all. Why don’t you try looking after someone else as well for a change?
Azusa: ...Look after someone else...?
Yui: ( I’m honestly having trouble picturing that... )
Yuma: In that case, why don’t you let him take care of you, Ruki?
Ruki: ...!
...Azusa, forget what I said just now. Understood?
Azusa: Yeah, sure...
Kou: Ahaha! This is so much fun. Hey, M-neko-chan, thank you!
Yui: ...Eh?
Kou: I’m thanking you for teaching us about Christmas.
It’s our first time celebrating such a fun event, so we’re all in high spirits!
Yui: ...I should be the one saying thank you. I thought I would be spending the day alone...so I felt a little down.
However, I’m really happy you all worked together to create such a fun Christmas for me. Thank you, everyone...
Yuma: Hah, we didn’t do this for ya or anythin’. We only went through with it ‘cause it sounded fun.
Yui: I’m still glad regardless. For letting me join your Christmas party.
Yuma: I mean, ya are kind of a bother to us, but did ya really think we’d leave ya out?
Kou: Ah~ Yuma-kun’s flustered~!
Yuma: Haah!? Why would I get flustered!?
Ruki: You’re red all the way to your ears. Why don’t you be honest with yourself?
Yuma: You too, Ruki!?
Ruki: Hmph...My bad. Seems like I’m having a bad case of ‘the slip of the tongue’ today.
Yuma: Che...!
Ruki: Yuma, cheer up. We’re actually spending Christmas as a family.
Azusa: Exactly...
Kou: Me too! Food tastes so much better when you get to enjoy it without being upset!
Yui: ( I didn’t think it would be so fun to spend time with everyone like this. )
( Huh...? I just thought ‘fun’... )
( Right. At some point, the time I spend with the Mukami family must have grown dear to me... )
Kou: What are you grinning for?
Yui: Um...This may sound strange, but I thought it’s fun to spend time with you guys.
Azusa: ...If you’re happy...then so am I.
Ruki: I thought you were an odd human, but you’ve exceeded that point...You are basically being held hostage after all.
Yui: Right. I know it’s weird but...
Kou: You’re really living up to your name~ Although that’s exactly what makes you cute!
Yuma: Heh...If we ever hold a Christmas party again, ya better help out too.
No way in hell I’m wastin’ my time makin’ some cake, so I’ll leave my fruits in yer hands.
Also, we need someone to make the cookies.
Yui: Thank you...! I better practice a bunch in preparation for that day!
Ruki: Let’s leave it at that. The food we worked so hard on will get cold.
Kou: Ah, Azusa-kun you’re adding spices again~ You shouldn’t ruin the taste of the food.
Azusa: ...Just a sprinkle. I want to make this an even more fun experience...
Ruki: Haah...Can’t you guys at least enjoy a meal in silence?
Kou: But this is what suits us best, don’t you think?
Yuma: It’d be kind of creepy if things were all quiet.
Ruki: ...Right. I suppose this is quite tame for a Vampire’s holy night.
Yui: ( I’m truly glad I was able to have such a fun Christmas... )
( I wish I’ll be able to experience this sight once more somedayーー )

(Citing anon here) I meant if analyses had to be cited and what kind of information had to be cited in them. Sorry for the confusion.
No worries! Here, I’ll explain some citing things.
Typically if you post anything online when you researched it or looked up stuff to prove your statement/claims, it’s always good to add a source. This is how misinformation spreads. Someone can easily make a false claim but people will believe them anyways because they trust them.
Sure this blog isn’t professional by any means but yes, you should definitely cite your sources if you use them. Or cite where you got quotes etc. I usually put where in the game/CD/etc you can find the quotes I put, and if it’s something like the calcium/vitamin D rant in that HDB analysis, it’s good to put a source cuz I did look up things to make sure what I retained from high school biochem and AP Bio was correct, and also get more information.
However, analysis statements are your own interpretation of the text. You use sources and statements in order to boost your own claims and text interpretation. However, even factoids that you already knew and didn’t need to research but would be helpful for the reader to get confirmation on what you’re saying or linking to the text, or if they wanted to get more information. If you’re saying what you found in another post, PLEASE link that post, because that is plagiarism if you don’t link it/make it a quote. Or even if someone helped you with some thought processes or facts, its always good to tag them just out of respect and the fact that it’s not good to take credit for other people’s personal interpretations :’)
Anyways, let me give you an example of claims, evidence, and analysis taken from this analysis:
Yes he starts off doing very weird things to her, but he keeps reminding her that he’s going to make her fall. The terror of that statement on top of Yui’s experiences and suspicions of Laito keeps her on edge. Being kept on edge all the time contributes to Yui’s stress levels, and also the fact that she isn’t getting nearly enough sunlight as she should be. She was immediately forced to adapt to the Sakamaki’s style of living, and that also puts physical stress on the body.
This is kind of a claim and analysis wrapped into one but the claim is really: “Yui’s stressed and not getting enough sunlight is contributing to it”
Then I explain calcium and vitamin D importance to the body and the brain, but I won’t copy that here because it is way too long but I do wrap it up with my source here that I used but also is here for more information:
Here’s the link for more calcium deficiency facts because it effects a whole lot more than just the nervous system.
Then here’s my analysis which I do state in a TLDR but that’s my bad, because I should have made this analysis part more clear in this section but eh, it is still said:
Yui’s physical state is very stressful for her, which in turn effects her mental state as well. This enables Laito’s words and manipulation to get to her easier.
This turned into an analysis “how to” (kind of) which reminds me I do need to make that post eventually, I’ll get to it :’)
But hopefully that makes sense! If you need anything else, let me know! Feel free to dm me if you’d like or submit something through the ask box again!

Okumura Koushuu is not very observant, but eventually he has to realize that his teammates are also his friends
Written for @daiyarpwk2020 day 2: Bonds
Koushuu is, perhaps, less observant than the people around him. It’s not exactly news to him, but it feels like a pretty poor excuse for explaining why he never realized he and Asada are friends.
In fact, other than Taku, Koushuu thinks Asada might be his best friend. They don’t have the same wordless ease born of knowing each other far too long, but if Koushuu actually craves someone’s company, he’s most likely to seek out Asada, and if Asada finds him instead, Koushuu never feels the urge to tell him to leave.
He realizes it all in a rush when they’re walking back from the cafeteria later than the rest of their batchmates. A year of this life should’ve gotten them used to the ungodly amount of food they have to eat to keep up their bodies, but they’ve settled into a routine of eating slowly and steadily, and Koushuu, at least, will never be the kind to scarf down his food like some other teammates he could name. They linger late, taking their time, and a kind of camaraderie is born from being in this slowpoke squad.
“Do you think we’re good senpai?” Asada asks, not looking at Koushuu. “I mean, we’re not setting a very good example, right? Taking so long to finish our food.”
Koushuu privately thinks it might actually be better to let the first years know some of their senpai still struggle. It shows them that no one on this team is superhuman, that through hard work, all of them can rise.
“I think if they can’t keep up, they’re not worth worrying about,” Koushuu says sharply. It’s the kind of acerbic comment he usually reserves for Taku’s ears only, the kind that just sounds mean – and it is, but he didn’t only mean it that way – that would get him in trouble.
To his surprise, though, Asada just huffs a laugh into his fist and keeps walking, and that’s when Koushuu realizes. Asada gets how Koushuu is, and accepts him for it, rolling with the punches much like Taku does, just in his own way.
“One of them asked me to help with pitching from the stretch,” Asada continues. “I don’t know if I’ll be a very good teacher, but I’ll try. I asked Sawamura-senpai to help me.”
“Don’t let him overpower you,” Koushuu says. He doesn’t have the same antagonistic relationship with Sawamura that he used to, but they still have strong, opposing personalities, and they still butt heads, and Asada seems like the type to let Sawamura talk right over him.
“He said he just wants to watch,” Asada says. “Not that I think he won’t chime in, but he and Nori-senpai helped me a lot last year. I want to do the same for the first years.”
Sawamura, at first glance, doesn’t seem like a good matchup for Asada at all, but Asada needs that kind of reassurance in a way Koushuu never has, and Nori was a good way to temper that. Asada isn’t a pitcher like either of them, and he might never be the ace, but he’s a wicked closer, and that’s the influence of both of those pitchers.
“Let me know if you want me to catch for you,” Koushuu says. “I’ll make time.”
Asada doesn’t even look surprised at the offer, which means he probably realized they’re friends long before Koushuu ever did.
***
Kuki is loud, and boisterous, and gets in people’s faces, and in general, he seems like the kind of person Koushuu hates the most.
But he’s also a brilliant pitcher, and his second year is showing the potential he has for rising to take the ace number. It won’t be possible this year, not with Sawamura and Furuya fighting with each other for glory, but Koushuu will eat his own batting gloves if that number 1 isn’t emblazoned on Kuki’s back next year.
Then there’s the fact that Kuki’s interesting as fuck to catch for, and unlike Sawamura, who has a style built between him and Miyuki, Kuki is still growing into what he can do, and Koushuu is helping to shape that.
Koushuu doesn’t appreciate having to agree with Miyuki Kazuya on anything, but making a pitcher grow and bloom is thrilling in a way baseball hasn’t been for a very long time. Dare he say it, he’s even having fun.
“What the fuck was that?” Koushuu growls as he snaps the ball back to Kuki. He’s lucky he snapped his hand up fast enough to keep it from flying over his head.
“An experiment!” Kuki tells him cheerfully. “I saw some video from America, and this pitcher could do this cool trick shot.”
“It’s not so cool if you take a batter’s head off,” Koushuu says, because that’s exactly where the ball would have landed if a batter was actually standing there. He’s glad it’s not one of the nights where Asada stands in for them. It would’ve sent him running, scared shitless. Masashi…well, it might actually do him some good to get the fear of God put in him, but Koushuu doesn’t really want to see him decapitated.
“Lemme try a few more?” Kuki asks. “I think I can get it. That felt weird, but I think I can fix it.”
“It might fuck up your form,” Koushuu warns.
“Come on, Kou-chan, please?” Not even Taku calls him that, but Koushuu has somewhat given up on getting Kuki to quit it.
Koushuu is not indulgent, never has been. This is probably a waste of his time, and there’s better uses of it. For example, fixing this new quirk in Kuki’s slider that might be nothing and might be a game changer, Koushuu hasn’t decided yet.
But…
Well…
“Keep them in the zone,” Koushuu relents, and with that, he also has to add Kuki to the growing list of Friends Koushuu Has. He wouldn’t agree to sit around and let Kuki possibly fuck up one or both of them if they weren’t. He definitely wouldn’t allow the nickname if they weren’t.
“I’ll do my best!” Kuki says, and immediately throws a ball. But then he gets it in the strike zone.
And then Koushuu thinks he sees what Kuki’s going for.
“Relax your wrist instead of your fingers,” he suggests, resetting the way he squats.
When the ball comes to him, it’s far from perfect, but it might be something.
“Did you see that?” Kuki demands, laughing to the ceiling. “I did it!”
“Do it again,” Koushuu says, throwing the ball back. “Prove it’s not a fluke.”
Stumbling and flailing, more failures than successes, Kuki does.
***
Yui is a rival, but he’s also a good captain. He’s doing a far better job than Koushuu ever would’ve. Unlike Miyuki, Koushuu had the good sense to turn the coach down when he offered the position. Koushuu is good at intimidation, and he’s fine at teaching a few selective underclassmen, but a captain needs to be for everyone, and that was the fatal flaw of Miyuki.
He recognizes, of course, that Miyuki did the best job he was capable of doing, and no one can fault him for the work he put it to make his captaincy function, but anyone who wanted to look could see that it only worked because Kuramochi was, essentially, a second captain rather than just a vice. After a year of Kanemaru as captain, supported by Toujou and Sawamura but not dependent on them the way Miyuki was on his vices, no one needs a repeat of the past, and Koushuu has never been shy about telling the coach what he thinks.
Besides, he likes being vice-captain. He gets all the perks without any of the work. Koushuu is mostly left alone to work with the pitchers and catchers, but now his voice carries more weight. Kuki is happily handling the moral support side of the equation, and Yui gets stuck playing keystone and, somehow, not crumbling.
It doesn’t mean there aren’t cracks, though.
“My head’s gonna explode if I look at that any longer,” Yui complains, rubbing his palms over his eyes.
Koushuu lowers the playbook they’ve been looking at down to the desk. It’s not that late. Koushuu’s roommates aren’t even back from the baths yet.
But Yui looks exhausted, slumped in his desk chair, and Koushuu can’t bring himself to point out that they’ve been at this for less than an hour.
“I can finish up,” Koushuu says. “Get some sleep. I’ll tell you the important stuff in the morning.”
“You’re not even the one starting,” Yui protests without heat. “I’m the one that needs it.”
“You need to rest,” Koushuu says. “I’d do this anyway. It’s no trouble.”
“For a practice match you’re probably not playing in?” Yui asks.
Koushuu shrugs. The data analysis has always been one of the better parts of being a catcher for him, and just because he’s not playing this practice match doesn’t mean he can’t use it for practice. Besides, he started yesterday, and he’ll probably start again as their season gets rolling. It’s still spring. Even though their last summer is coming, it hasn’t started yet, and Koushuu is trying to enjoy the time they have left. In as much as he enjoys baseball, anyway.
Yui’s head lands on his shoulder. Koushuu jumps, because Yui isn’t usually the touchy type, and Koushuu definitely isn’t, but he lets Yui stay there anyway. It’s been a long day, and being captain is hard, and Yui has been fighting barriers Koushuu never has for far longer than this.
“I quit being captain,” Yui says. “You can do it.”
“You know I’ll just make Kuki do it,” Koushuu says. He knows Yui doesn’t really mean it.
“I feel like I keep fucking up,” Yui says. “No matter how hard I work, I always feel like there’s more to do.”
“You have vice-captains for a reason,” Koushuu says. “Let us help you.”
“So you’ll do all the data analysis, and Kuki will handle everyone’s emotional problems, and that just leaves me doing what?” Yui asks.
“Leading,” Koushuu says, and he gently pushes Yui off. “Go sleep. It’ll be better in the morning.”
Koushuu stays up later than he should and walks into breakfast blinking sleep out of his eyes, but the relief on Yui’s face, coupled with the way the dark circles under his eyes have faded, is worth it.
“Aren’t you the diligent vice-captain?” Taku teases when Koushuu sits down, cursing the lack of coffee. “You’re a good friend.”
Koushuu really should have realized that Yui was also his friend sooner.
***
“That is blatant favoritism!” Kuki complains as Koushuu throws a pillow at him and growls for him to shut up. “Taku-chan started it and you didn’t say shit to him.”
“Can’t help it if I’m his favorite!” Taku grins as he passes by Kuki on the racetrack, piloting his Princess Peach across the line to lap him. “Or maybe Asada is now, I can’t tell.”
Asada shrinks and focuses on keeping his Luigi on the track.
“Nah, if you’re not the favorite it’s definitely Kaoru-chan,” Kuki says. “They have this catcher bond that can’t be bro – dammit, Kaoru-chan!”
“You snooze, you lose!” Yui crows, browbeaten into taking a night off and thoroughly enjoying himself. “And I say Seto’s the favorite.”
“You’re all wrong,” Koushuu snaps from where he’s trying to focus on his homework. He’s not suffering the indignity of makeup exams again. He’s a third year. It’s demeaning. “Masashi’s my favorite.”
Masashi has been patiently waiting for one of the four controllers to open up, leaning against Koushuu’s desk as he works, and he looks up at the call of his name but doesn’t say anything. Koushuu adores him for it. Masashi stayed on later than he normally does because the other four had declared it a third year bonding night and camped up in Koushuu’s room with Mario Kart. He hasn’t said much – usually doesn’t – and that’s just fine with Koushuu, because he really wants to get ahead on his homework before it comes crashing down around his ears.
“You wound me,” Taku complains. “How is Masashi your favorite? No offense, Masashi.”
“None taken,” Masashi says.
“Taku, you’re fired as my best friend,” Koushuu says. “Masashi, you’re hired.”
“I don’t want to get in the middle of anything.”
“Too bad.”
Everyone else complains a little more before letting it slide, taking Koushuu’s mood for what it is.
“You dropped a decimal there,” Masashi says, pointing to Koushuu’s homework. He’s right. Koushuu fixes the mistake. “Are you actually mad at them?”
“No,” Koushuu says. He’s annoyed, sure, but they mean well, and it’s not their fault he has a hard time focusing on baseball and homework at the same time. Besides, he can’t actually bring himself to break it up when they’re having so much fun.
He’s really gone soft since his first year.
“Good,” Masashi says. “If you need help, I’m okay at math.”
“Thanks, Masashi,” Koushuu says, and he means for more than just the homework.
He and Masashi don’t talk all that often, but Masashi offers a quiet kind of companionship that Koushuu can’t get from any of the others. At least this time, Koushuu recognized the friendship for what it was early on. It’s a strange kind of friendship, not one he ever knew existed, but he’s grateful for Masashi anyway.
“If you want a turn, go take one,” Koushuu tells him. “Send Taku over if you do, I’m doing history next.”
Masashi goes, clapping a hand on Koushuu’s shoulder on the way. It hurts, a little, but Koushuu doesn’t complain.
***
Koushuu sits in the grass, knowing it’s staining his uniform pants, and he can’t bring himself to care. He has a diploma in his hand, and he never has to wear these again.
“Jeez, try to look less like someone died,” Taku complains, dropping into the grass beside him. “This is a time for celebration.”
“You’re even less eager to leave than I am,” Koushuu says. He made friends here, created memories, played baseball that restored the fun of the sport to him, but Taku loved it here. He’s grateful he made the decision and Taku chose to follow him for that if nothing else.
“True, true,” Taku agrees easily. “But it does give me the chance to do this.”
He holds out a button under Koushuu’s nose, and Koushuu realizes his jacket is hanging open.
“Is this your second button?” Koushuu asks. “Is this a confession?”
Of all the things he expects, he doesn’t include Taku laughing at him.
“Is this…of course it’s not a confession!” he says, grin in place. “This isn’t news to you.”
Koushuu shrugs, because it kind of is.
“Koushuu, we got playground-married when we were seven,” Taku says, incredulous. “I made you a flower ring and everything!”
Koushuu doesn’t admit that he’d kept that ring until it fell apart.
“We haven’t been…together, though,” Koushuu says.
“Of course not,” Taku replies. “We’re in high school, and we were busy with other stuff, and you had to work through those weird crushes you had on Miyuki-senpai and Sawamura-senpai.”
“I did not have-!”
“You totally did, and it’s fine,” Taku says. “I’m surprised you didn’t date anyone this entire time, though. I did.”
Yes, Koushuu remembers the girlfriend Taku had for a few months, remembers how fiercely and furiously jealous he was of her. Taku’s confession, if it can be called that, isn’t a surprise, sure, but Koushuu expected to continue as they were, best friends and maybe something a little extra, growing closer without him realizing it.
But, of course, life isn’t that kind. They’re not going to the same university, although they’re both staying in Tokyo, and Taku isn’t playing baseball anymore. He still loves it, but there are other things he wants out of life, and he told Koushuu he was happy to keep supporting him in the aftermath of the huge fight they had about it.
Koushuu reaches out, but instead of grabbing the button, he grabs Taku’s hand, holding the button between their palms. Taku rests his head on Koushuu’s shoulder, and they watch the sun sink together.
“You’re not allowed to lose my number,” Koushuu threatens. Taku laughs.
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” he says. “Come on. Our moms are making some huge celebration dinner at my house that they think we don’t know about.”
Koushuu didn’t know about that, actually, but he’s not surprised Taku did. He lets Taku tug him to his feet and lead him home, just like always.

Diabolik lovers Chaos Lineage: Carla Tsukinami (Story 12)
In terms of the gameplay: The black choices lead up to a bad ending, the white choices lead up to a good ending. Please no reposting onto other sites, ask me before translating this into another language too! I’m an amateur translator, but I hope you do enjoy it anyway!♡
Place: Violet mansion — dungeon
Carla: For the time being, the two of you will rest in the dungeon.
If you show an obedient attitude, I won’t need to take generous measures in the future.
Ruki: Hmph... are you saying that you want to tame us? That’s useless.
Shin: We’re not going to bow down for you. Not even for this power.
Carla: ...Speaking of that topic
Hurry up, Subaru. Explain the current situation to Laito.
Subaru: ...Yes.
Yui: Carla-san...
Carla: What is it?
Yui: Is this, really okay? Even if Shin-kun will be trapped in the dungeon...
They both are dangerously injured, with blood all over the floor—
Carla: They need to stay in this dungeon, otherwise Shin who never loses, would attack us.
If that’s the case, we also need to fight them... I highly want to avoid this.
In addiction, now that they only have false memories in their head, past hospitality would just be another suspicious cause.
Yui: (That right... For Shin-kun, Carla-san is nothing more than just an enemy)
(Just another enemy who is a competitor for the throne of the king...)
(This situation, it might even cause Laito-kun to get suspicious of us, but... I can’t help it)
Shin: ...Brother, are you okay?
Ruki: Yes.
Shin: Damn... ngh, if the wounds would recover more quickly, we’d definitely get out here.
Ruki: Don't be impatient. Just don’t let your guard down.
Shin: Understood... brother.
Carla: ...
Yui: (Carla-san, he’s silently watching Shin-kun. I never saw him with such an expression on his face... that’s the first time—)
(He looks like, he’s hiding a lot of feelings)
Place: Violet mansion — living room
Kou: No way, to catch Ruki and Shin just like that, as expected from our leader Carla-kun!
Azusa: Y-Yes...
Laito: Recently, were there any new signs of you becoming the king?
Because, I was told that you managed to win by your own powers, is that right?
Yui: (Everyone is talking happily about the successful capture of Ruki-kun)
(The battle for the king, for now this is everyone’s biggest priority...)
Carla: You’re noisy. I still couldn’t become the king yet.
The Scarlet family, as well as the remnants of the Orange mansion are free. Don’t act so delighted already.
Kou: Suure. But, you did an amazing job. So what is our Carla-kun planing for the next time?
Once you became the king, we’ll make sure to throw a huge party for you!
Carla: Party... ?
Laito: A present that Carla would be happy with, I don’t think that smth like that exists.
Subaru-kun, do you have any ideas?
Subaru: What? Why are you asking me about that?
Kou: In my opinion, we should just have a good meal together!
Azusa: That’s just, because Kou-kun always wants to eat... right?
Carla: ...You all, why are you all so excited... ?
Laito: That’s because, Carla is finally getting closer to become the king. Isn’t that right?
Kou: That’s why we’re celebrating our big brother, you’re not going to get away from it.
Carla: Big... brother.
...That’s right. For all of you, I’m your big brother, hm...
Yui: Carla-san...
Carla: We’ll plan something. I’ll put my thoughts on this topic later.
First of all I’ll return to my room. This will be left to you, Subaru.
Subaru: What? Ngh, hey! ... What’s wrong with this guy.
Yui: (Carla-san, he looked uncomfortable with the situation...)
Subaru-kun, I’ll go after Carla-san.
Subaru: Yes... that might be better. We’ll do whatever we can, now go and follow him.
Yui: Yes, thank you!
*Yui leaves*
Place: Violet mansion — Carla’s bedroom
Yui: Carla-san, may I enter?
Carla: ... Sure.
Yui: Excuse me.
(Carla-san, after all he doesn’t seem alright...)
Carla: What about Subaru-kun?
Yui: Oh, they’re all still discussing things about the Party. Everyone seems to be excited about it.
Carla: I see...
There was something about that, which made my mind go blurry.
Yui: Eh?
Carla: The eldest brother, me, becomes the king with Eve by his side. The rest just follows them...
This is what they assume because of their memories.
But, I never thought that Laito would be so happy about it.
Yui: For Laito-kun and everyone else, it is you, who is their big brother.
Carla: Yes, that’s right. They are pleased by my actions because of their memories.
Although this is a fake relationship, their thoughts of me... being their real brother.
Being real brothers, it might just look like that from the outside.
Yui: Nn...
(Shin-kun...)
Carla: ...What’s with that expression? Did you thought about Shin just now?
Yui: Shin-kun... ?
Choices
1) — It seemed hard (white) ♡ ♡ ♡
2) — It seemed good (black)
— It seemed hard ♡
Yui: I know it’s hard. I just don’t know what we should do about him...
Meaningless fightings, everyone’s memory loss... I don’t think Shin-kun is happy either.
Carla: That’s right. We will make sure to give him his memories back.
Yui: Exactly, the reason why he adores Ruki-kun, is just because of his memory loss.
— It seemed good
Yui: It looked fine to me. It looked like he’s doing well with Ruki-kun on his side.
Carla: I see...
end Choices
Carla: Certainly, Shin is blended with a false brother on his side.
The fact that he wasn’t treated badly in their mansion, reliefs me a bit.
Even if it may be because their memories have been altered, I might have to thank both of those vampires.
Yui: I agree...
("Brothers"... Shin-kun, he still believes that Ruki-kun is his elder brother)
(But, this whole situation seems to be pretty complicated for Carla-san...)
Tell me, are you sad about it?
Carla: ...Feeling sad. Yes, I wonder if that’s true.
However, I can’t deny that I’m enduring a painful feeling.
Yui: Carla-san...
Carla: ...No, this topic is just bothering someone like you. Forget it.
Yui: It’s not bothering me at all...
You’re feeling like this, because Shin-kun is the most important person to you.
Carla: I see. It may be as you said.
Shin... and you, are pretty special for my entire existence.
If one of you went missing, it’s only natural to feel like this.
Yui: As long as he remembers, everything will stay the same.
Carla: That’s right. We will regain Shin’s memories and—
Once this is done, we’re escaping from this space.
Yui: ....Ngh
(... If we are going to the church, we will surely find a way out of this strange space)
(But, once we are out, the time will continue to flow in it’s usual form)
(...Carla-san’s disease will start to progress)
Carla: What’s wrong, Yui? Your expression suddenly changed.
Yui: Nn, uhm...it’s nothing.
I may have been acting awkward, due various reasons recently.
Carla: Are you, hiding a secret from me?
Yui: I... ngh
Carla: You are the woman I choose for myself. My future bride.
There is no need for you to hide anything from me. Worries, suffering, weaken.
Trusting each other on this, for me this is necessary for a healthy relationship.
Yui: Carla-san...
(Seems like Carla-san began to notice my strange behavior. I’ve been probably acting weird for awhile now...)
(But, I can’t say it. I’m way too scared of letting those words escape from my mouth...)
(I don’t want to remind Carla-san neither myself about his disease—)
Carla: Apparently, it looks like you’re not going to say anything.
Yui: I-It’s different! It’s not like I want to keep any secrets from Carla-san’s.
However... I still don’t know myself, how I should deal with this...
Carla: I see. I've tried to get the answer to my questions in a hurry.
This way. You’ll lay in my arms.
Yui: Carla-san... ?
*Carla comes closer*
Carla: For now, you decided to not talk about your secret, I’ll fully respect your opinion on that.
But, I hope you know that is not what I actually want.
Yui: Yes... I’m sorry.
Carla: There’s no need to apologize. Your sentiment, I will wash away all the worries in your mind.
Offer me your blood. In exchange, I will give you the feeling of the finest pleasures.
Yui: My blood...
(He’s not asking because he’s thirsty. Neither he asks because he wants my blood)
(It’s just, because he is caring about me... )
After all... Carla-san is still the kindest person I know.
Carla: Don’t preach me like this. This is involved in dignity as a king. With mercy alone, the kings life wouldn’t work.
And do you know what that means? That means I am the only man suited for you.
Yui: Eh...
(His eyes, their expression suddenly changed... it’s like he’s aiming for his pray, an eye that dominates everything—)
Carla: Has the scent of your blood increased? As I thought, you are the type that prefers rough actions.
Yui: Eh, s-such kind of things...
Carla: You don’t need to hide your desire from me. As it is right now, you should accept it.
I’ll make sure, to give you enough and all kinds of — pleasures.
...Ahh...Nn...Nn...
Yui: Wait... ! ...Agh...Nn
Carla: ...Ahh, your blood is definitely increasing and becoming thicker.
Look at me. Listen to your body, tell me who your supreme ruler is.
Yui: Y-Yes, it’s you, Carla-san...
Carla: That’s right. Your companion is nobody else but me. There’s nothing to grieve anymore.
However, just drown in the feeling that you are given, the pleasure you waited for — Nn... Nn...
Yui: Ahh... Nn...Ngh...
(My blood is been sucked like this again... Like this, I can’t focus on anything and it makes my mind go dizzy...)
(It feels like my hesitation, anxiety and everything else is sucked away with my blood...)
(Only for now, even if it’s spoiled... I... want it...)
Carla-san... please don’t... hesitate to take more.
Carla: ...As you wish... Ahh... Nn...
Yui: A-Ah... Ahh... !
(My head becomes selfish. Without thinking, I just wanted him to take more)
(I don’t worry about what happened earlier anymore)
Place: Outside — wide area
Ayato: ...Hey, are you planing to hide there forever? Move on, come out already!
??? : Oops, seems like I got discovered.
Laito: I thought I was doing well in hiding myself, it’s a surprise that you found me.
Kanato: You got a pretty big mouth. Hiding in the bushes while thinking nobody sees you. Do you seriously think I’m stupid or something?
Laito: That’s wrong. I was just waiting for the perfect moment to talk to you two.
Ayato: There’s no need to talk to you. You’d probably just start picking up a fight or sum. Try me then!
Laito: Oh dear, hold on. I assume the cause of your frustration is the reason that you don’t know where Ruki is, right?
Ayato: Hah? Why do you know that? That’s right, he was included with that intelligent dude.
Kanato: Shin too. Even though we were hungry and went home, the mansion was an empty shell.
I can't forgive him for not having any sweets in the mansion. Ahh, I'm sure he is miserable laughing about his actions.
I’m sure it must be like this. Ruki and Shin won’t be forgiven anymore.
Laito: ...They really are like Carla said, selfish guys who just care about themselves.
Kanato: Did you say anything?
Laito: It’s nothing, nevermind. More than that, Ruki and the other guy—
As I know, they were attacked and tattered by all four members of Scarlet.
Ayato: What? Seriously?
Laito: That • is • why, the two of you should hurry up and beat up Scarlet, before you try to beat up me.
I’m not the type of person who’d attack the enemy right away, but I can’t hold you two back, right?
Kanato: It is certainly interesting. Scarlet... If we would attack them right away, Reiji would make us a pretty hard time.
But, I won’t forgive them easily... I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THEM... !
Ayato: Heh, Ruki got defeat, that’s right. But, if the great me would beat up Reiji, Ruki needed to—
He needed to accept Ayato-sama as the strongest of the family! Hey, Kanato!
Kanato: I understood it. Let's head to the Scarlet mansion right away.
*Kanato and Ayato leave*
Laito: ...Haah. They really left without saying thanks or farewell. They are really selfish.
But, now the other family can crush those disturbers apart.
In order for Carla to become the new king, I’m helping as much as I can possibly do.
Well, I’m not sure if he would be happy enough with this report as his present.
