We’ve known that the Arctic monkeys fandom has too many hangers on from 2005 and 2013 for years now. After glasto, it’s just exploded into the limelight that a lot of their “fans” don’t listen outside of one or two albums.

Hopefully this’ll be a positive and cleanse the fandom a bit. The monkeys deserve a fandom that actually likes the music they are producing now. Not people hanging onto nostalgia.

#I hope this doesn’t sound pretentious but I’ve been thinking about this ever since tranquility base came out #when I went to the last London date it was very bizarre seeing the crowd around me #everyone stood up and sang along for songs from the first two albums and AM #everything else people sat down and looked lifeless for #it’s such a shame for them #it’s no wonder there’s barely any tranquility and car songs on the current set lists #Arctic monkeys #Alex turner #glastonbury 2023
