when i was a kid and first started watching stargate atlantis there was a lot i didn’t understand (because i was like 6) and for the longest time i just rewatched the first season and my favourite episodes but now as an adult and having rewatched it a few times i’m appreciating so much more about the show

uuhhh in other new that lmk s5 trailer dropped and people are very
mixed
for context the new season is being partly animated by wildbrain i think. flying bark is still working on the show but probably due to all the other projects they've been working on like the atla movie the animation is off.
its understandable that people are upset. lmk has some of the most consistently dynamic and lively animation ive ever seen, and going from that to ok animation kinda sucks. as a culmination of a lot of what the series has been building up to people were inevitably going to be disappointed
at the same time people shouldnt harass animators. like ever. no amount of trying to petition or anything will change the s5, people are just trying to do their job and theres no probably no major changing to the finished product by now. and theres still a lot of that lmk charm in there, and we haven't even seen the whole season yet to judge it. flying bark is still working on it, and even if the animation never reaches the peak of the old seasons it still has the same writers so at least the writing has the chance to live up old standards. idk though we'll just have to wait and see
#i do think they could have just delayed it after dealing with other projects but with the anniversary lego might have jsut forced them????#and with how the animation industry is i guess they didnt have a choice#tbh im still really sad about the downgrade but after rewatching the trailer a bit more its not that bad despite the tweening#we've been spoiled with the other seasons but i think people will get used to it at some point. maybe#though i cant forgive some of the new stuff like li jing and that dragon tiger duo they do not fit the artstyle at all#though for li jing i think the problem is mostly proportions and how small his eyes look#but the dragon and tigers snouts just look bad.#ok looking at it again i think it looks weird because theyre dissolving. the design's still off but it wasn't as bad as i first thought.#but the proportions and shapes feels like it just isn't from lmk#idk i could nitpick but negativity is tiring and these guys have big shoes to fill for a show they werent prepared for it was inevitable#for any last takeaways please do not be mean to the animators#also studio changes are normal so its not some horrible injustice or the sign of the end times im more upset lego didn't handle it better#i still hope s5 is good and i want to believe it'll still be satisfying by the end the plot so far sounds pretty interesting#or atleast that the atla movie is good enough to compensate#and if im feeling greedy there will be a 6th season that gets better#and there are still good shots throughout all of this so maybe it'll work out with the season as a whole#with how popular it is in china i dont think its out of the question#idk though a lot of information is still up in the air so i guess we just wait#lego monkie kid#lmk#monkie kid#alttalks

I think my major issue with the finale (and s6 overall) is that Buck had SO much going on, 5 different thematically similar internal and external conflicts, and I don't feel like the show did nearly enough to weave them together or show the progress of them onscreen.
I have no idea why Buck was no longer scared to "pick the wrong couch again." I know why he was interested in Natalia specifically, but not the bigger emotional picture of how/why he got over this emotional hurdle.
I have no idea how he's changed since the lightning strike - they told us he has, but what's actually going on in his head? I have literally no idea.
I don’t know what kind of growth he experienced via the donor baby. I know he decided he could be donor-not-dad from the get go, stuck to that throughout the pregnancy, and then had a wistful moment gazing at his progeny. But that doesn't really feel like a big emotional moment when he's been saying it's not his kid for 8 months.
I know he started the season wanting more professional responsibility and ended it taking charge when the 118 was in danger, but I don't know what skills he acquired in the interim to allow him to do it successfully. I don't know how he feels about it. I don't even know if by the finale he still WANTED to lead. It was fine enough payoff, but it certainly wasn't an "Eddie suiting up in Mayday" kind of payoff.
I know his coma dream taught him Lessons but I don't know how they're reflected in his real life?
Compare how his arcs this season played out to Hen and med school, or Eddie and dating and I think you can see the massive deficiencies in Buck's season. And I'm totally aware that they need to leave things open so they have somewhere to go next season, but all of his (many, many) storylines having such a lack of emotional depth is a real bummer.
I think it would've been magnitudes better if he had really struggled on screen with the donation, so that moment of him handing the baby off to Kameron would've shown some real growth. A single conversation about him needing to not be scared to live because he DIED as an explanation for dating again. We sort of half-got a lot of these things - Buck telling everyone Kameron was pregnant and the onesie, Buck at the cemetery saying every day is a gift - but they didn't really commit to any of it, and they certainly didn't give themselves the time to flesh all of it out. All in all, for a very Buck heavy season, I don't feel like I know Buck any better, and I know he's made some steps forward, but only because they told us he did. I really would've liked to see the emotional journey to get there.

your soa au is whats going to finally convince me to watch the show (i do love tragedy, found family and generational curses).
quick question, where does clark fit into this au?
Okay don't get your hopes up, the show kinda sucks. BUT, to give credit where it's due, You can really tell these guys love each other like they'll hug and kiss each other on the cheek, and are still very masculine.
And the generational curses here are really good and ends so nicely, I don't wanna spoil but damn they are really paying for their forefathers' sins.
There is so much tragedy in the show, not to spoil but almost everyone is dead or in a bad place.
Clark in this AU, is a reporter and one of the founding members of the Justice League with Bruce and Diana. They all met abroad and then came back to the US to start the club. He's just a good guy who wants the world to be a better place :)

throughout the series of drake and josh it pretty consistently implies that josh nichols is a christian (josh peck is jewish) and in the finale of the series helen (played by yvette nicole brown, not jewish[?]) is portrayed as a practicing jew
#i dont have a problem w either of those things necessarily i just find it interesting#if i had to guess. drake and josh was a mainstream that didnt wanna touch on religion generally#but josh was kind of a dork and usually when josh's religious beliefs are implied it is in dorkish ways#such as praying and thanking the lord after he has his first kiss.#but since dan schneider is jewish perhaps he wanted to make helen have a jewish wedding in the finale?#not that there needs to be a reason. but u do notice occasional jewish-related jokes in d&j but none of them are what you could call#offensive. in good faith that is. 'eric is a pacifist' 'i thought he was jewish?' like come on#text post#i have been rewatching drake and josh recently and i have had so many thoughts#im almost done. i just have left that stupid dance episode that they premiered last for the stupid reason#of a special dance-themed premiere night in fall 2007. they premiered the third episode of icarly and a new zoey 101 on the same night#which i think is so stupid. they should've aired really big shrimp last. it messed w my understanding of the series at the time lol#i remember not really knowing that the show was ENDING. like i knew icarly was starting & miranda was doing that#i thought really big shrimp was like just another special like go hollywood.#and then like two days later they premiered the helicopter episode for some reason#and i was like why is drake not famous in this. he just had a number 1 song in a superbowl commercial#and then a month later the dance one. which. if anything is satisfying about that as a final episode it's just that#that unnamed girl from the blues brothers episode who is obsessed w drake shows up again and congratulates them#and the very final line of the series is 'who is she?' because. because really who IS she?#that's a funny enough throwback to wrap things up with i suppose#drake and josh wasn't a highly serialized show so i can see how they could air those after the intended finale and act like it didn't matte#but i have to tell you it did fuck with my brain a bit at the time. lol. i still think of those episodes as having 'happened' after#and on paramount plus those episodes are still placed after really big shrimp. the injustice#but thats kinda messy. what a weird way to end such an influential and popular sitcom#season 4 had a few lowpoints while still also having some VERY solid episodes.#idk. ill have to continue my series review another time im getting way too longwinded here#helen dubois is jewish

trevor punching supernatural creatures (and punching them to death in every case but one) is so funny. I assume it works simply because who would expect a mad man to drop his magical weapons and just resort to bar fight moves.

the thing about betting back to a MASH rewatch with less than 20 episodes total left to go in the series is that I want to finish it and then immediately rewatch it again

*walks in covered in blood* i finished first penguin. i reaaaaally really loved it oh my goddd all these peepaws being so dramatic and sulking wow grow up.. IWASAKI WAHHHH she was so cool and so awesome and so smart and she helped so much oh my god and she problem solved and and and WAHHHHH i think my fave parts were when she got Very Loud i kept saying damn girl at my screen each time she put her foot down UGH and the conflicts and the solutions and the AUUGHHHHHH. anyways loved it why am i sobbing over the ending though.
BRO MFINISHED IT HELLO ??? ?? IM S GLAD YOU FINISHED IT- AND SO QUICK JESUS CHRIST--
BUT YEAAAASSSSSS YES I LOVE IWASAKI THIS AN IWASAKI STAN CLUB !!!!! i LOVE LOVE LOVE how patient and fair she generally is but she also doesn't allow people to do whatever they want. BUUUTT I ALSO LOVE how on top of correcting people in that passive-aggressive way, she isn't afraid to get ABSOLUTELY irate and really let someone have it- IT'S JUST SO GOOD and i NEVER really see it with lady protags so i was a HUUGE fan whenever it happened
ENDING WAS SO TWISTED THO MAAADDDD UNFAIR TO IWASAKI (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)(;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)(;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`) like i GUESS she did was she was paid to do in the end but..... THATS HER FAM CMON NOW (;´༎ຶx༎ຶ`)
i fuckin. LOVE the fishermen they deadass collectively share exactly ONE (1) brain cell and it's frustrating sometimes but it's also the stupidest and cutest thing i ever seen (╯▽╰ ) THE BIT IN LIKE- EP 3 I THINK WHERE THEY'RE ALL CHASING AFTER IWASAKI TO APOLOGIZE ALWAYS MAKES ME GIGGLE THO i think of it far too often for my own good its so cute... like Goddamn They Really Are A Batch Of Penguins...
#snap chats#THEY'RE SO SILLYYYYYYY //rips my hair out and eats my fingers//#THE CONFLICTS AND RESOLUTIONS WERE SO SATISFYING THO RIGHT ??? LKE UGH THINGS JUST FELL INTO PLACE SO NICELY#i really love how there's SUCH pushback against iwasaki in the beginning tho LIKE GOOD. THATS WHAT I EXPECT !!!#it really does feel as though she earned her progress and that's what makes her victories soo satisfying#because the show really does not waste a moment to demonstrate how hard she's working despite her circumstances#and ofc with that in mind it does make you want to strangle the fishermen at first because its like YOOU. MOTHERFUCKERS#but with the drama's theme being about The First Penguin it also does a good job to remind you they're not only uneducated in all this#but they're also incredibly scared to try and do somethin new- and we know old people cmon they're stubborn as rocks#which is what makes it sweet when they DO start to come around- even if hiro flip flops like a fish out of water for FUCKS SAKE--#hiro's funny as hell for that im not gonna even lie. again his flip-flopping is frustrating but Again 2x i understand his fears#JUST AAAGGGHH I CAN TALK ABOUT FIRST PENGUIN FOR HOURS ITS JUST SO GOOD......#AND LEST I FORGET THE UTTER BAGNER THAT IS ITS CREDITS THEME FUCK#WITH ALL THAT SAIDJVLKAJVK thank you for taking the time to watch it !!! im real glad to hear you enjoyed it as much as i did (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)#gigglnig and kicking my feet thinking of first penguin now i should rewatch it again (╯▽╰ )

That was a sweet and tender finale... I cried a lot.
Geats was my first Kamen Rider I saw as it aired. But its also the first Toku I've seen as it aired, end. So this is a new experience for me.
(And was actually caught up on, Donbros I was watching it as it aired but never got able to catch up, I finished not long after it ended)
I've got a lot of emotions thats hard to put into words. I'm just seriously gonna miss these guys.
Thank you for the memories. 🦊🐮🦝🐱

Ladybug and Cat Noir: Awakening is literally so much better than the show in every way that its actually just embarrassing. I’ve watched every single episode of Miraculous Ladybug from the very first season. And also I’m right. Cope.

I have always been and will always be a Memory Blank apologist, but I do concede that with the gifts of maturity and retrospection it is obvious the whole episode was just a flimsy excuse to add a merchable logo
(which they then failed to make any good merch of, as previously discussed on this blog dlghjkdsljfk)
