Accidentally overhearing Alhaitham’s late night phone call was one thing Kaveh didn’t plan on. But hearing those words spur from his literally cold-as-ice tongue made him question his existence. Alhaitham?? Being affectionate with someone???? Saying ‘I love you’ back??? Was Kaveh about the be called up to celestia and live his remaining life with the primodial one??

Okay it’s not even about the fact that he called them darling. OR THE FACT THAT HE SAID I LOVE YOU BACK. Even though those facts alone were something he desperately need to talk about later. But one thing Kaveh was mostly surprised at was the fact that someone wanted to be affectionate with him.

That made him wonder. Like the green haired moron does literally nothing but sit and read. Without his pretty face, perfect brawns, and outstandingly smart brain, he would be nothing. No but seriously, did you ever see Alhaitham taking a step forward to start a conversation? No, exactly! In fact he’s the one that takes the initiative to stop them.

So from now on, Kaveh decided to make it his life mission to find out who exactly is willing to suffer for the sake of being with Alhaitham.

Going to his lists of candidates he has…uhm. He can’t really think of anyone right now rather than the librarian that spends 24/7 in the library. I mean he guessed they do have one thing in common. But no let’s cross that out.

Oh yeah! Alhaitham was in the student council. He was there as secretary! Okay that opened up a few spots for some people Alhaitham could be dating.

Okay so far here is his list:

1. Vice president of the student council, Cyno

Notes: possibility 40%. Seen them talk before but they hate each other sm. Honestly giving enemies to lovers vibe but didn’t Cyno had a thing w Tighnari? Idk need to check again.

2. Student council head of social media department, Nilou

Notes: possibility 60%. Very very pretty, single too (I think??) Seen them talk but I think only abt student council matters (or is it??). Kinda too good for Alhaitham. She doesn’t seem to be the type that likes cold guys. Does that cross her out??

3. Student council head of sports department, Dehya

Notes: possibility -100%. Definitely not. Rumour spreading around that she’s dating Dunyazard. Ship them sm ngl if she turned out to he dating Alhaitham I’ll kill him for ruining my ship. But overall definitely not.

4. Student council president, [ Name ]

Notes: possibility 25%. Nah bro they too good for him. They’re literally the definition of social butterfly and he’s likes the opposite. So many ppl chasing after them fr so if they turned out to be taken by Alhaitham, I’ll personally go back to celestia myself.

So far that was the list! It was okay so far but he needed more evidence. The one with most percentage on his list was Nilou. He’ll have to ask around to find more candidates too. But he was sure that the list of candidates wouldn’t be more than 5.

Before you questioned Kaveh to why didn’t he just asked Alhaitham, it’s because he would just stare at him blatantly and said “It’s not your problem” ! Honestly, getting an answer from Alhaitham aside for calculus matters is extremely difficult.

He did his research and observations. Alhaitham goes to the library every day (literally). He spends his time there reading the same kind of shit he does at home, staying quietly at a remote corner, away from all the other students.

There was no way this man is taken. The problem is he doesn’t even try. Like at all. 0 efforts. If Kaveh was his lover, he would’ve dump his ass in public and let him suffer the embarrassment. The worst part about that is the fact that he probably won’t even care!

After what seemed like 30 minutes, Kaveh decided that all was hopeless and finally went his merry away. Ah, if only he stayed just a minute more. Then he wouldn’t have missed your approaching figure heading towards the man whose nose is stuck in a book.

“Hi.” A small smile graced your lips, your eyes melt into those turquoise hues, one that reeked of fondness and admiration.

No words of greetings has yet to leaves his tongue, but the way he scooted over to the right, indicating you too sit by him was more than enough.

“So, when are we going to tell him?” Alhaitham averted his gaze from his book unto you. His eyes slightly squinted, showcasing evidence of him clearly thinking.

“Is it really equivalent for him to know?” Your boyfriend asked, earning a soft chuckle from you.

“Statically speaking, not really. But the way he’s searching for candidates is so hilarious and amusing to watch, don’t you think, darling?” Alhatham lifted his book up to eye level, covering the dust of pink that shimmered around his features.

He pondered awhile before replying “Ah you’re not wrong. It is quite the fun to see him run around chasing for some bit of evidence. A mastermind are you, my love?” Now it was your turn to flush shades of red. You can see the smile of adoration on his eyes cascading through the shades of his irises.

Times like these are where you love him most. Where the two of you sit in the presence of one another, quietly scheming and watching that friend of yours running around like a detective on a case. Seeing him desperately looking for the answer when it is right in front of him, sitting cross legged and maneuvering the most amusing smile.

Because, after all, at least in the US, you can join the military at 18 (or 17 with parental consent). Furthermore, it’s a sad fact of life, but many underage people fight in conflicts all over. It happens and is happening and I’m glad this has finally been (at least as far as I’ve seen and remember) explicitly acknowledged in a franchise about war.

I’m gonna try to be more organized about this but here are more things to note:

. We don’t know any Cybertronians’ official age. That’s never been a thing, because you’d have to calculate, and Hasbro ain’t doin’ that math.

. That being stated tho, based on the dialogue, Star/Ulchtar in this flashback could be anywhere from 14-19 years old in human years.

. It seems like he has some part-time job. Mood.

. This is the first time in canon I’ve seen a youngling Starscream join the Decepticons. In G1, he was an adult (former full-time scientist right?). In the WFC games, an adult. In TF One, an adult (and even older than Megs? I mean Steve Buscemi’s voice does not age fr so—).

. Kup looks significantly younger here than he does in Issue #7. That is Kup up there, right? Like middle-aged I guess? ⬆️

. When Genvo gets blasted, he falls forward into Ulchtar’s arms. I’m no physicist, but this means he must have been shot from the back, right?

. Optimus to me seems to appear from behind Ulchtar (in the other direction).

. Optimus presumably does not hurt Ulchtar (or even notice him?), which makes sense (if he saw Ulchtar). He’s unarmed.

. Optimus doesn’t have the same gun he did in Issue #1 here, and he has no gun at all in the Energon Universe Special sh*t how am I supposed to compare—

. Like no wonder Skybound Star acts so immature and violent, and maybe even resentful of Jetfire leaving him (which explains his hostility that caught Jetfire off guard).

In G1 he acts bratty, but he’s always been portrayed as an adult, so I didn’t expect this I just thought—FRAG— 😭

. I think we can all agree here that this is still not an excuse to lash out at the innocent, so Carly still deserves to get justice/his aft (idk [insert theme about revenge here]). But also Megs. Frag Megs, like honestly (I didn’t even like TF One Megs by the end). 😒

. And this is exactly how I imagine Megs recruiting his victims followers, especially when he’s interested in particular ones (it freaking happens in my AU but anyway— 😀).

Step 1: Show up at the right moment, when they are at their lowest. Act nice, very nice, and make yourself look less intimidating, by changing into something that’s not only small, but also capable of protection. Hence, a gun (gun-tank hybrid whatever—maybe he’s a triple changer like my AU).

It’s his way of communicating that he trusts you/sees your potential, and that you better could trust him because he will protect you, and guide you, and care for you, etc.— He’s totally not luring you into a false sense of security so he could use you. 🙂🫠

Step 2: Use information you know (to get even more personal) and high emotions to your advantage.

Step 3: ?????????????

Step 4: Profit until you get what’s coming to you.

Dammit why is he so magnetic? Forget the fusion cannon, that’s the scariest thing about him people!

My overall theory:

Genvo tragically said too much. Maybe he was trying to impress and gain Megs’ favor (somebody who he already looks up to), so he mentioned their (or just Ulchtar’s) clan (part of the Cybertronian defense force? Oh boy).

They’re numerous, fliers, and most valuably of all, some are outliers (have powers). Skywarp’s teleportation. The Rainmakers’ acid. Sunstorm’s radiation. Oh, how destructive that would be in a fight…

So, he put a tracker/recorder on Genvo (with or without his knowledge), wanting to find out what the clan’s deal was. Or maybe he or Soundwave just straight up stalked them via their alt modes, I wouldn’t be surprised. Are they interested in a side? Apparently not, and for Megs that’s a problem. Let’s make them interested.

Akin to the Aligned novels, he blows their territory up, intending to blame it on the Autobots. Genvo, perhaps aware of Megs’ plan/true intentions, is merely one loose end to tie.

In the end, Genvo wasn’t special or that useful, but he made for good fridge stuffing.

Idk how Omega Supreme factors into this. Maybe Optimus did blast Genvo. Nevertheless, Megs once again proves that he is the biggest selfish douchebag who cares more about himself than Cybertron’s future (unless proven otherwise?).

And I hope Carly wins/finds happiness along with Spike. Peace out. ✌️

🌈 - Do you associate any colors with them?

Oh for sure. On both counts, haha. I feel like this is a thing for most of my OCs- at least, it’s a major point of trying to like. Visualize a design for them when drawing. At any rate.

Carmen has always been strongly associated with red to me. It’s a very vibrant, strong color, and it’s also a very heroic and regal one. Maybe it’s just the kinds of books I read as a kid, but when I think of kings and knights, I think of crimson and scarlet and all that jazz. She’s proud, principled, and aspires to be a paragon of what she considers virtue. I’ve also always portrayed her with a rose as an emblem- a romantic symbol. Of course, the obvious flip side of that is that there’s a lot of negative association with red as well- fire and blood are the obvious ones here. She’s not fiery in the sense of raging passion or blistering anger per se, but more like… a destructive flame that would burn everything to ashes, maybe. Someone with burning ideals and zealotry so hot that it’s searing her too. Of course, the less fanciful aspect of the red is that it’s a color that was also associated with the chivalric order she was a part of in tabletop (also an anchor point of the rose). Carmen’s kind of a funny character for color though. She’s been around in some form or other for ten years or more at this point, and she’s always had the red association. It’s something that’s kind of transformed over time.

Ismene is an easy purple. And one day I swear to fucking god I will manage to color some of my art of her. Although I guess it wouldn’t be posted here so uhh maybe it doesn’t matter. Anyway. Purple. Regal and mystical. That’s the kind of vibe that I always want her to give off as a first impression, so purple is an obvious choice. I think there’s also something to purple being a kind of cool, somber color- she’s become a more mischievous character than originally planned, but I think it’s right for her to have a certain self-serious gravitas. This is a bit of an open and shut one I don’t have much more to say ^^;;

🌍 - What are this oc’s religious views?

Oh good god.

Carmen’s religious views are Very Different in Wrath from her original tabletop iteration (where her schtick is generally kind of inverted from part of Wrath), so I’m going to preface this by saying I’m answering for the Wrath iteration of the character. Carmen is a dogmatic atheist. You know the goofy edgelord atheist dialogue in this game? Honestly totally on point for her. She doesn’t believe that people should rely on the gods, and she believes that gods are ultimately all self-serving and tend to use mortals as proxies for their conflicts and the most extreme expressions of existence. The affairs of mortals should belong entirely to mortals. She’s not a person who sees the good gods as fundamentally better than the evil. In the end, they’re still imposing the same manipulative systems on their followers. They still inspire violent, irrational conflict. And they don’t “inspire” their followers. They breed helplessness. They make people reliant, cause them to wait and pray for salvation instead of searching for it themselves. The gods are cowards and parasites. And one day, it would be nice to see them torn down from their thrones.

I had to look up/double check FR lore for this one, which was half the time spent on this whole thing if I’m being real with you. Anyway. Ismene’s upbringing obviously meant a lot of exposure to gods of knowledge, and she tends to regard these deities with a reasonable level of respect. Knowledge, to her, is the highest power; those who reign over it are the highest Powers. She identified particularly strongly with Savras, Alaundo’s patron, from a precocious age- one of a number of ways she has taken aspects of the life of the one true prophet for herself. This seemed like a bit of childish fancy when she was young, but the release of Savras during the Time of Troubles gave it more gravity- another uncanny bit of foresight from the girl. For her, it seemed a sign in and of itself- thought not a person of deep devotion, she quietly claimed the returned god as her patron, developing a personal belief that her prophetic abilities had been an omen of his return and deepening her sense that she was personally connected to Alaundo. In the years between the Time of Troubles and the revelation of her Bhaalspawn heritage Ismene developed a conviction that she had a destiny to take up Alaundo’s mantle as a true prophet of Savras in the new age. Her personal dedication to the god is partially responsible for her aversion to outright lying- to speak untruth is anathema to the All-Seeing, though she never quite internalized his dedication to wholly avoiding misdirection and deceit. The revelation of her divine blood shook her faith deeply- in some form or other, her abilities originate in truth from Bhaal. Of course, with pride and precocious self-importance as the origins of her devotion to the Lord of Divination, she’s certainly able to adapt to the idea of being a demigod given time. I don’t want to say more when I have yet to y’know. Finish the original Bhaalspawn Saga. But I certainly have an idea of the trajectory of a hubristic young wizard who gets to live with the smug satisfaction that she can outfox a god.

Carmen is an easy dragon. It’s the fire thing. And the knight thing. What’s the opposite of a noble knight? That’s right, a dragon. And also being very cool despite objectively killing a lot of people, which isn’t so awesome.

Ismene is like a unicorn because she’s just so goddamn special. I wrote that sentence as filler for later but you know what? I’m right. What else needs to be said, really. And also it’s the princess-y thing. The maiden-y thing. The magic-y thing. Like. Y’know.

OKOKOHHHHHHOKOK BUCKLE IN. YOU’RE GONNA GET THE FULL DESIGN PROCESS

I struggled the most with Soul ngl. I couldn’t really think of anything I could add that would differentiate him from the fanon standard. I’m a lil upset I couldn’t think of something more original, but nonetheless he turned out quite lovely !!!

I started with the color picking. I was very insistent on making everyone’s colors proportional to eachother. The main colors should have (about) the same saturation/brightness, contrasting colors that are the exact opposite hue of the main color, respective black/grey/white values (soul’s ‘grey’ color is more teal bc color theory but yea), shit like that i guess. The final palette is on the right, it’s what I use today.

Soul never got fully fleshed out concept sheets like the other two. I guess my brain just filled in the rest of the gaps without having to draw them. (I apologize for never finishing these btw. It’s been months man. I hope the blorbo doodles in the corner make up for it) The second image was done a lot later than the first btw. Idk if that matters but I’m bringing it up anyway.

His fit inspo came mostly from Pinterest. I just compiled a bunch of shit I think he’d wear. Plus a majestic cape because it makes him look plenty more epic.

OK MOVING ON. I decided that his main gimmick would be my take on his shaded side. The idea was to make it represent dissonance, and how it affects Soul. The shadow is basically just this fuckin void. It has no physical form, and you can just stick your hand in there if you’d like (he sometimes stores the trident there). However I wouldn’t recommend it. The feeling is indescribable, but very uncomfortable. The void has a life of it’s own in a way. It does not stay confined within the Soul’s physical form (or in my case, his lineart). When conflict is at a high, like, tridential regicide level high, the void will get very close to fully overtaking him. It only fully disappears once true concord is reached, and starts reforming when the next cycle starts.

Also, the mask !!!!! Throughout cacophony, Soul is having a huge fucking identity crisis and shit. He doesn’t really have a physical organ like the other two. He doesn’t know why he’s here, or what he did to deserve this, or why nothing he’s trying works, and just. What is he if he’s failing at his main purpose???? I think because of this, he doesn’t like showing his face around the other two. He needs to assert is power, and thinks that showing his face will make him come of softer and less of someone to obey, if that makes sense. He only really takes it off when he’s alone in his room or pocket dimension (still trying to decide if they have a mock ‘apartment’, or ever did at one point). But once he has the character arc in Two Wuv, it permanently comes off !!! Wahoo!!!!!!! If only the next cycle weren’t to start, resetting his newfound self image to its previous state !!!!!!!!!!

This image was very helpful for designing the tine shapes!! Guess which one is Soul’s !!!!!! (Spoiler alert, im pretty sure its either the 2nd or 6th ones in the 2nd row. However i genuinely dont remember. This may not even be the right image)

Soul also has a strange tie with eyes. If the halves have pissed him off to the point of no return, he does this fuckin analog horror stare that freaks the shit out of them (although heart cant see he remembers it very well. Plus, he just k n o w s that extra eye is there). I haven’t really played around with this, but I like the idea of a freakishly absurd amount of eyes hidden within the shadow. I should maybe like. Draw that sometime.

Also, expect a Soil patch update in the future!! I’d like to make his fangs more deranged, and maybe add an earth pattern to the cape. Right now, he has no symbols on him that represent him in the astronomy metaphor.

I actually don’t really classify my favorite characters. I just get really attached to a lil guy and add him to The Collection and don’t question it. I got a guy for nearly every mood. I collect them in a china cabinet in my mind palace or something. I don’t even know if I know exactly what a comfort character is supposed to be. But I think I can convert any of my blorbos into a source of comfort in case of an emergency. 

I DO recall the like…first and only character I openly called a comfort character with minimal second thought was Dr. Henry Jekyll from the classic gothic lit novel, The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. 

Then my friends were like “elaborate on that” and I was like “no <3”. 

I still don’t know if I can actually elaborate on that. The curse of the Tortured-By-His-Own-Hubris-And-Sin Victorian Man™️ weighs heavily on me as well as he. That’s the best I got. C’est la vie. He’s just like me fr if you squint and tilt your head and actually go blind. 

Besides Jekyll, the beloved. Uhhhh. Who else could be a comfort character? OH haha, okay, so…

How do I condense this down without giving a whole drawn out story…I don’t have much in the way of physical insecurities. I’m usually pretty confident. But, and y’all may have noticed this by now, I’ve always fancied myself…a big, strong, masc woman. Y’know? I say butch-y a lot, idk if I can say “I’m butch” if I’m straight. 

However, despite all that, I am not…the optimal or ideal …or stereotypical? big, strong, masc woman. I am small. Small and scrawny. Greasy, wiry bastard. I’m athletic! I run for hours everyday! I work out! I tend to my family’s farm by hand! But uh…still, short, unnoticeable muscle. Nobody looks at something kinda heavy and thinks I can carry it. People laugh when I even suggest the concept of me fighting someone.

My height and difficult-to-notice muscle can upset me greatly. Like how can I be a big strong lady in this economy? Every character or person I look at that I want to be like…is about at least twice my size, or twice my mass. Like??? I’LL NEVER HAVE THE SAME VIBES, I’ll never achieve that! It’ll never be the same! 

I guess it’s a pretty common thing to feel but it’s not something I’ve really felt before or about anything else. 

Ik you’re into BG3. I haven’t played it, I don’t intend to. I think if I get it, it’s not a matter of if but when it’ll break my computer or my me. 

But…I know Some stuff…I know a little bit about Lae’zel. Like uh…frog lady, warrior or knight, rude, devoted? …uh…something about licking sweat?…xenophobia? idk that’s not my point-

My point is, like…she gets big buff lady privileges, she’s treated the same as I see most big strong ladies I wish I could look like get treated. I thought she was a particularly big strong lady for awhile! But I looked it up and like…She doesn’t have that much visible muscle at all! It’s like, mostly armor. And she’s the shortest of the party too???? But she’s regarded like she’s huge and intimidating and like…ahhhh WHATEVER WHATEVER!!! It’s kinda stupid, it feels like it’s weird to dwell on this sappy stuff towards a character idek and I got two other questions I’m late to answer. I said I wasn’t gonna give a whole lengthy story. Just like. Thinking about her existence as a character and her character’s reception just…makes me feel better about myself. So she’d probably be a big contender for the status of “Comfort Character”.

11. Favorite extracurricular activity?

OUGH extracurricular??? I am…or, ig, was homeschooled in a state with some great loose restrictions. So when it came to school, we liked to play some of it fast and loose. Our neighbor obtains a dead boar and gives it to us? We gotta turn it into dinner? Gather around children, it’s time for some… biology dissections. That type of deal.

I did have some actual “extracurricular activities”, or ig since I was homeschooled they’d be called “hobbies”. Um…I was on a chess club, I wasn’t good; I did ballet, not well; I did tap, briefly; I did piano, with the least amount of passion;……I was not a great student. But I like to talk about them!  I keep forgetting I did all of that. They were fun, my skill and gripes aside. 

I do still run for fun. I started when I was like twelve, and discovered nightcore, and got filled with energy, and realized I cannot dance. I can sprint tho! So I’ve been running, for hours everyday, to music, ever since. Even though I do art, I’d consider it very separate from my education. So “track” or “cross-country” probably has to be it. 

I did also begin learning to code recently with some…questionable free code camp website. That’s pretty fun!

46. Favorite holiday film?

OOO hm. Okay. I always have it in my head that I don’t like holiday films but that might not be entirely true. I just watch them outside of the holiday, have some unconventional choices, or just dislike the ones my family always chooses. 

Idk if the exact definition of a ‘holiday film’ is a film based around a holiday or one viewed every time a certain holiday rolls around, but my favorite that might qualify for both is Jaws. We watched it every 4th of July for good while and it was probably the first horror type movie I’ve seen, I felt like a rebel for it but it was always my parents’ idea. 😂 I’ve loved horror ever since so maybe that started me down this path!…unless it’s not actually horror.

I’d love to hear about those Christmas movies you love! I have not settled on a favorite Christmas movie! I suppose I’m difficult to please.

I keep mixing up Christmas With The Kranks and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, but I think I really enjoyed one or both of those. I ALSO LOVE A CHRISTMAS CAROLS omg, every A Christmas Carol movie, my absolute beloved. The Muppets one will always be The A Christmas Carol to me tho.

There was also It’s A Wonderful Life, I have had the WEIRDEST experience with it. I get why people don’t like it, but I’ve always firmly believed that the best way to experience a movie…is talking over it with friends and family PUT THE PITCHFORKS ASIDE FOR A MINUTE. We aren’t having full conversations the whole time but, for me, the movie watching experience just isn’t right without hearing occasional comments and thoughts and opinions and memories and predictions from company throughout the experience. No matter what movie or show it is. I think it’s a big part of why I can’t watch anything alone without going at an ABYSMALLY sluggish pace. I was raised on Reaction Videos before Reaction Videos were a thing XD

I watched It’s A Wonderful Life for the first time at home with my family last year, and a rarity happened: we all HATED it. Maybe one of us will not enjoy a movie but this one we were all groaning and checking the minutes left. It just felt like Nothing was happening and it was dragging on and on. The second time I watched it was actually later in the month, in a movie theater, with some brief acquaintances from a Women’s Group of sorts, in an attempt to make friends and the like. My mother came with but she was sitting a row behind me, a few chairs away. And I was sitting next to The Hostess and an old lady attending who couldn’t hear very well. I absolutely could Not talk, I am fully aware of theater etiquette and how much other people dislike it. So I didn’t talked. And actually? I actually liked it the second time around????? I asked my mother after and she liked it better too??????? Idk what it was, maybe it was bc we were talking over it at first for the magic of the movie theater experience but I just really liked it better. And that’s probably the closest to Christmas magic I’ve seen….okay, okay, second closest but we don’t need to get into it right here.

also, idk WHAT is going on with The Polar Express…but I think I’m messing with it. I’d need to rewatch it but I think I was a fan of…whatever was happening there <3

Had to get him where it hurts most, and that had to be his career as a sorcerer… a punishment that ended up being kind of a slap on the wrist tbh, because why wouldn’t that be the case 🙄 I think if it had been anyone else, like someone of a less impressive heritage they would’ve been permanently suspended—it’s the Zen’in playing their privilege card once again…

And yeah, I can’t imagine how insufferable he’s going to be on the incoming days hahahaha like, he’s essentially forced to stay in the estate since he can’t do his work anymore, and not only that, nobody wants to hang out with him!!!! It’s completely reasonable to expect the worst considering all that happened in the chapters before and how I’ve portrayed Naoya, however, he is in a rattled state of mind so… guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens 😊

Yes, I did read this when it came out a month ago and I'm just reviewing it now. But I haven't stopped thinking about it all this time so...

"Why did Yoongi… Fuck, forget about it. It’s probably nothing." To this day, every time I see OC overthinking, I get sad. Although she has made a lot of progress of course, there are still those moments sometimes and I understand that, but it does make me sad when she's sad so :(

Honestly, this chapter just leaves me speechless, so this review is a little short, but I still had to scream over my favourite parts. Spent three years not giving a shit while Koichi was actually doing illegal stuff, and now that he is doing something right suddenly everyone wants his head, because now we need to make a point like “hero society is flawed” and all that stuff, instead of doing that three years ago”-  This would actually be a lot more effective/compelling if Phelps had been placed into similar situations before during the hunt for the Villain Factory, but had Tanuma around to “cover his back” and make the “grey area” judgement calls whilst Phelps kept to the straight and narrow. With him incapacitated and an innocent girl’s life on the line, it’s now the breaking point for Phelps’ morality and judgement skills, whether he can make enough of a compromise with the illegal heroes to see actual justice done, or remain blind and play to the letter of the law, thus allowing Nomura more cover to sneak around unseen in the shadows cast by the law’s blindspots. 4) “OHHHHHHHHHH IT’S HIM FOLKS

Since he never wised up, it’s fallen to Soga to be the perceptive one making the judgement calls and compromises whilst Koichi still acts on his orders, which I feel takes away a little something from Koichi’s own agency, when this should be the point where he decides if he’s sticking to his own principles or cooperating with the official helpers.

Honestly being FTM & like. transitioning and passing and living as a man in my daily life but also being visibly GNC is such an isolating experience in the damn community fr. Everyone talks about GNC trans men as monolithically pre-everything. “Support GNC trans men, it’s valid to have boobs! it’s valid to not be on T!” etc etc, while the majority of transitioning trans men are like. Short masc haircuts, masc men’s clothes, talking abt the gym and wanting to be perceived as manly and venting abt their hair growing out too long and often their disdain for femininity tbqh… I’m sorry but there is never ever any space for trans men who are perceived as gender nonconforming/effeminate men. All trans man discourse is either “is it valid to be a trans man who looks like a woman?” or “how do I look more like the most normal cis[het] man ever?” and I never ever ever see space for men who have been on T for years who have undergone surgery and plan to get more who have long hair who wear jewelry who get called faggots by strangers who have full beards who wear women’s clothing. Etc etc etc.

I wouldn’t say it’s underrated, but it’s recent so it doesn’t have the attention that other moments have garnered. Help My Teenager Hates me is such a good kyman episode. Kyle takes the first shot. Cartman gets hissy about it and fights back with his words. Kyle, in demonstration of his fiery temperament, shoots unnecessary amounts of paintball bullets. Cartman has no choice to surrender... for the moment. Cause Cartman catches Kyle off guard, honing his energy on one, harsher blow. Like, that’s been their dynamic for decades! Kyman’s dynamic is expressed in a way I’d never thought could be succinct! I’m so happy with this episode.

I’m not surprised he picked up on his tears with lightning speed. Kyle’s always been in tune with Cartman’s emotions. He’s the cartman whisperer fr. Love this episode to death.

In the unlikely even that he turns to her for advice, for example, asking what Kyle meant by “setting boundaries”, Liane would take the conversation…um.. into another direction: “Boundaries?? I think all in all, she’d be relieved that someone headstrong and stubborn like Kyle is dating Cartman. He’s starting to put the dishes away! He’s not screaming at her to be at his beck and call! Sheila would be cautious. She trusts Kyle, and it’s not an issue of liking Cartman or not (because Cartman knows how to suck up to adults, and she’s happily had tea with him during the show), it’s more a worry that Kyle and Cartman will make good decisions in their relationship. I envision Sheila as the type of mom who takes dating very seriously, like, the mentality of “dating for marriage” kinda deal. Her extensive lectures on consequences and communication won’t do well to assuage Kyle's neurotic tendencies. That’s where Gerald comes in.

Gerald’s a dick, kay, he’s got a lot in common with Cartman and can see through his sons’ boyfriend’s bs like THAT. Above that though, he’s a family man who knows how to dish out sage advice. Gerald will set Kyle aside and encourage him to “yes, listen to Sheila, but also, don’t navigate so piously that you forget to have fun. And hey, lighten up. Don’t date Cartman to fix him. That’s not how it works, kiddo.” He can’t say for sure if they’ll last, but if Kyle really likes being with Cartman for who he is, then it's fine. Gerald speaks to Kyle from the perspective of a sadistic asshole who fell in love with a self-righteous redhead with an explosive temper– and while Kyle may not make that connection, Gerald does, and he talks accordingly. He makes a note to do what he can to help Kyle out when their relationship inevitably hits lows (yes, plural, because it’s his son. and it’s Eric T. Cartman.)

Outwardly? In terms of physicality? Cartman. He’s so shameless that he’ll make out anywhere, anytime, if Kyle so much as asked. He’ll call him pet names. He’ll STILL buy those couple outfits. He’ll find any excuse to be in contact with Kyle in some capacity. He’ll make grand gestures, and those are his favorite because not only does he get attention from others, he get the coveted double whammy of humiliating AND doting on Kyle. Some might say Cartman’s affection is shallow, that he has a juvenile view of love. Arguably, the affection is there, he just doesn’t realize to what capacity. All he knows is that he finally has Kyle, so he will express himself when emotions arise. It’s very ‘spur of the moment’.

I am just not the target audience for this. Like, we already kinda know how everything is going to go and all the arcs are kinda the same, they show us someone, we care for them for like half an episode, they die, repeat.
