Sometimes I think it would be kinda funny to role play a relationship with someone, nothing serious ofc but just an excuse to message somebody ‘hey baby cakes how’s your sweet ass doing today?’

(DCxDP) The obligations of a rogue versus those of a parent (Pt. 3)
Tw: Vivisection mention, torture mention (GiW agent receiving), me not actually knowing how telegram works
Will be crossposted to AO3 eventually.
(Pt. 1 here) (Pt. 2 here) - (Pt. 4 here)
(Masterlist/subscription post)
It’s an average, ordinary afternoon in Gotham, and Jason is in hell.
Specifically, Jason is in hell because he’s been researching the GiW for the last week or so, ever since a cryptic message from Scarecrow of all people.
He still hasn’t gotten anything substantial out of it that Scarecrow hadn’t already provided. Most location data had been previously scrubbed from the database, weaponry details were apparently all stored physically, and the experiment logs seemed to be only accessible from within one of the bases, whose locations Jason did not have.
Apparently Babs and Tim were having similar issues with gathering information. He had sent a copy of the files over to them in a moment of weakness, but they were having the exact same results as him.
To make things worse, the GiW was more active than they had been previously, combing through Crime Alley and the rest of Gotham tirelessly. At least they weren’t harassing him anymore, he thought, but now he had even less of a clue what they wanted.
And to top it all off, the Joker had escaped Arkham a few days prior to Jason receiving Scarecrow’s note, and he still hadn’t done anything. That could only mean that he was planning something big, which meant more grief for Jason, because the clown was obsessed with him.
So yes, Jason wasn’t having the best week.
He got up from his computer, stretched, and walked over to the window.
The sky was Gotham’s usual grey, clouded with a toxic miasma made up of traditional pollutants and the aftermath of gas attacks both, which could generously be called ‘smog.’
The streets seemed busier than usual, or maybe that was just because Jason was having a hard time keeping his eyes focused.
With blurry vision and a dull ache in the back of his head, Jason paced through his apartment, going through everything he knew.
The GiW, or Ghost Investigation Ward, were part of a secret government project having to do with ‘ecto-entities, which were mostly made up of ghosts.
The GiW was able to kidnap and steal away anyone who was ‘ecto-contaminated’ to be dissected, and it was completely legal.
According to the non-censored patrol reports he was given, Jason himself was considered ecto-contaminated. So were Bruce, Damian, Steph, and Cass.
There were also several rogues that were in the same boat, but their names had been redacted, presumably by Scarecrow. He wasn’t entirely sure why, but he guessed it was either for leverage or privacy. Knowing Crane, it could be both.
Anything useful about the GiW seemed to be stored physically within their compounds, or on an operating system that couldn’t be accessed outside of certain areas.
Anything useful about ghosts was conveniently removed by Scarecrow.
And, lastly, he knew from capture logs that they had numerous captive ghosts which were definitely being experimented on. One of these ghosts was named Daniel, last name redacted, and had been turned over by his parents in return for allowing them to run their own experiments on the boy.
From what he could tell, it had been around fifty two days since he had been turned in.
Fifty two days of experimentation and dissection.
Jason had to find him.
But first, he had to find the locations of the GiW bases, and plan his entrance carefully. He couldn’t let them get away because of a simple mistake.
The only location data he had been able to find was on a picture of the boy, Daniel, a picture of a vigilante in a red suit, and a quick note left about Daniel which hadn’t been transferred into the main database.
The note was…
Jason had been around crime for a very, very long time. He understood it intimately, in a way most people would never hope to achieve.
He understood hatred, too.
And yet, the words in that note were almost incomprehensible to him.
They were mockery of a child in pain. A child that was not seen as human. A child that was seen as a threat, a monster.
The man had detailed the security surrounding the child being cut back. Apparently, the kid had some sort of sonic scream. They were removing the muzzle that inhibited it because he had screamed himself hoarse, and he couldn’t make a sound anymore.
He also mentioned that the kid was cut open at least once a day, sometimes multiple times. He was opened up, played with, and sewn back shut.
The man joked that they should just put a zipper on him, so they wouldn’t keep wasting their stitches.
Jason really, really wanted to kill that guy.
The metadata on the note traced back to a newly-bought building in Gotham’s financial district, while the photos both came from Amity Park, Illinois.
Amity Park, Illinois did not exist in any official capacity.
Tim, who had taken the Batplane to check the precise location listed in the metadata, had reported that there was a town there after all, and it was on complete media lockdown from the rest of the world. He hadn’t even been able to use Bat, Justice League, or Young Justice channels to message anyone outside of the city until he left.
Jason had checked the building in the financial district firsthand, and found that the man who had submitted the note had done so while resting on a patrol of the city. He seemed to go there often to avoid his superiors, and Jason found it easy enough to get the drop on him the third time around.
His advanced interrogation techniques hadn’t been enough to get the man to name any locations. Worse, the man definitely recognized Red Hood, and would definitely tell the rest of the GiW about what had happened as soon as he left.
So, Jason did something about that. He couldn’t kill him, unfortunately, so he did the next best thing.
The GiW sent him to a public hospital within a few hours of finding him with shattered hand bones, broken arms, and a throat with near-permanent damage. The man wouldn’t be able to speak for a month at least.
He might never write again.
Jason, having read the note over and over until the words stained the backs of his eyes, thought it was the least he deserved.
Jason sighed, stopping his pacing. He wasn’t getting anywhere with this. If anything, working himself up was only going to lower the chances of him magically coming to a realization about where the kid was or what in the hell was going on.
He walked into the kitchen, popped some leftovers into the microwave, and started them up.
Once they were done, he brought them out to his desk, intending to eat as he continued to work on the GiW case.
When he saw his screen, he froze.
Telegram had been opened to a new chat with someone he had never messaged before.
TooFine: who are you?
TooFine: why are you looking into the giw?
The messages were a couple of minutes old, probably sent while Jason was spiraling pacing. He just stared at the screen, dumbstruck.
Shakily, he responded.
RedDead: How the hell did you get my contact info
Whoever was on the other side of the screen paused for a second. Jason considered sending a quick text to Babs to tell her what was going on, but he decided that he could handle this by himself.
TooFine: got it from the backdoor I put into the giw system.
RedDead: Shit
TooFine: ok your turn
TooFine: why r u looking into the giw? seriously man
RedDead: I don’t have a single reason to tell you. Give me one and I might answer your questions
TooFine paused again. Clearly they both had issues trusting someone over the internet, and rightfully so. What they had both admitted to doing was incredibly illegal, and if someone turned them in, they would be in deep shit.
TooFine: ive been trying to take down the giw since it was created. I can help u if ur honest with me
RedDead: Oh yeah, because no one has ever lied to another person on the internet before
RedDead: But fine
RedDead: I’m looking into them because they’ve been shadowing me for over a month at this point, among other reasons
TooFine: other reasons?
Jason sighed. He shouldn’t have added that. He knew that the other guy would ask, but he said something anyways.
RedDead: They’ve got a kid. I don’t like it when people hurt kids
TooFine: Danny? he’s alive?
RedDead: From what I can tell
So he knew the kid. Or, at least, he was pretending to. It would make sense for him to be cagey about his intentions, and for him to be desperate enough to reach out.
TooFine: oh my god
TooFine: do you know what city? fuck
TooFine: fuck fuck fuck
TooFine: I need to find him man please
RedDead: He’s somewhere in Gotham
RedDead: I’ve been trying to find him for a week now but no dice. They keep everything important on separate servers
TooFine: listen man you’re a good hacker but you’re not as good as me. you need my help if we’re gonna find Danny
RedDead: Okay, what are you trying to get me to agree to?
TooFine: i’m coming to gotham and we’re going to meet up
RedDead: Hell no
RedDead: Stranger danger
TooFine: if I tell u who I am will you say yes
RedDead: ?? How am I supposed to verify if you’re telling the truth
TooFine then sent him what seemed to be a selfie. Jason’s jaw dropped at the kid’s sheer audacity.
RedDead: There’s something seriously wrong with you
TooFine: my name is Tucker Foley. i live in amity park. i’m in 10th grade
RedDead: ???????? WHAT THE HELL
TooFine: i can send u my address too
RedDead: PLEASE DON’T??
RedDead: WHAT’S YOUR FUCKING DAMAGE? DON’T DOXX YOURSELF TO ME
RedDead: WHAT IF I WANTED TO KILL YOU OR SOMETHING? WHAT IF I WAS A FED
TooFine: i have to take that chance.
TooFine: Danny is my best friend. they’ve had him for over a month and no one’s doing anything to help. mr. Lancer was the only one who cared and he gave up after they blackmailed him
TooFine: they’ve had him for OVER A MONTH. I THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD.
TooFine: Sam and Jazz and I are coming to gotham and we’re going to find him no matter what it takes
TooFine: you have to help us
Jason considered, for a second, the choices he’d made in his life that had led up to this moment. He also considered, if he was in this kid’s position at his age, if he would be doing the same.
He decided to throw the kid a bone.
RedDead: [4735.jpg]
TooFine: HUH
RedDead: I’m guessing you know me
TooFine: RED HOOD??????
RedDead: No I’m just a very dedicated LARPer
TooFine: am i gonna die for Danny right now
RedDead: If I were literally anyone else, probably
RedDead: But no, you’re not. I’m gonna help you find your friend
TooFine: your username is red dead and you’re. yeah ok
RedDead: Oh come on, it’s funny
TooFine: Danny would love you
RedDead: So Danny clearly has great taste in jokes
TooFine: nope. literally loves puns and wordplay
RedDead: Nevermind
They both paused for a second. Then, Jason had a thought.
RedDead: Wait you’re in the 10th grade and you’re hacking into government databases?
TooFine: please don’t tell my parents.
RedDead: And how are you supposed to explain a sudden vacation to Gotham to your parents?
TooFine: wait so you’ll help me?
RedDead: I really hate to say it but I’m not the best at hacking, and my usual help is busy trying to track down the Joker. So, yep, we’re teaming up
TooFine: LET’S GOOOOOO
RedDead: God. I’m asking a 16 year old to help me take down a government agency and save another 16 year old
RedDead: I feel like the bat
TooFine: oh my god this is awesome. Danny is gonna flip when the actual real-life Red Hood comes to save him.
RedDead: I already regret this
TooFine: too late.
TooFine: btw do u have any place for 2 teenagers and 1 adult teenager to stay in gotham? preferably without dying but yknow.
Jason groaned. He was really, really gonna regret this, and he knew it.
Still, the alternative was some overeager kid dragging two other idiots to Gotham to find their friend and getting themselves killed. At least this way he’d have help, and damn good help at that.
He really was turning into the Bat, wasn’t he?

Tumblr media
Hi guys👋🏼….It’s been a while hasn’t it? ( like 2 years give or take heh)
I want to start off by saying that I am in fact alive and yes, I WILL be finishing Polarity. If anyone still cares about it I hope? 🤞🏼 fingers crossed. I know it’s been so long and I’m sure lots of you have lost interest and I completely understand trust me, I did end up committing the old carnal fanfic author sin of falling off the face of the earth after leaving y’all with a cliffhanger 🙂‍↔️
But I just want to let y’all know that an update is coming this week! As for why I’ve been gone, to keep it short and simple, I went through something really traumatizing and I really didn’t have the headspace for anything other than getting myself together and my job . I quite literally haven’t logged into this account since 2 years ago. I’m overwhelmed by the amount of messages you guys have sent me and I’m in awe of how many of you have expressed your love for my works. I have been reading through them all day and I’m still close to being finished heh, it reminded me of how much I’ve missed your messages. ❤️
I want to also apologize to all of those who were genuinely concerned about me, I hope you can understand I didn’t mean to leave you hanging like that. I appreciate all the sweet messages you have sent me, I will try to reply to as much as I can. So much has happened, I had to reread my own work because of how much of a blur my life had become and how even this site felt like a fever dream. But I am also working on a new fic, which was what pushed me to ultimately come back and pick up this hobby that I had not even thought I would be able to fully enjoy again. I have such great timing dont I? considering it’s coincidentally Jungkook’s birthday lol.
But anyways, I won’t bore you anymore. Thank you all so much for being here and enjoying my stories. Hopefully you can enjoy the upcoming update of Polarity ! :) ❤️❤️

rock bottom ౨ৎ L.W
Leah x Aussie!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
description; reader hasn’t been showing up to training nor messaging her national teammates so they tell Leah, her girlfriend.
warnings; self harm, depression, bed rotting ig.
౨ৎ
rock bottom.
it means to be at the lowest possible level.
That’s exactly how I feel at this very moment. I haven’t been to training in a week, I haven’t showered in 4 days, and I haven’t messaged any of my teammates in 3.
it feels impossible to do anything, let alone breathe.
My room was a mess; plates, bowls, knives, forks, and any other cutlery littered my bedside tables. Drinks, such as iced coffee or any energy drinks, were stacked in the bowls.
it felt like i had hit rock fucking bottom.
My girlfriend Leah had tried calling and texting to see what was going on, but I simply ignored her, not on purpose but simply because I didn’t have the energy, and at this very moment, lying in bed, I had forgotten I had given Leah a key to my house.
Well, that was until I heard my front door unlock, open, and then shut again. I didn’t even have the energy to see if I was about to be robbed. All the thoughts racing through my head finally stopped once my bedroom door had opened, and I heard a voice utter a soft
"baby?"
I had turned my body around, facing the door, to see Leah standing there with a bag in hand. There was one familiar look in her eyes after she had looked around my pigsty of a room.
Pity.
God, I hated that fucking look.
Leah walked closer towards me, she sat the bag down on the ground, since that was the only free space, she kneeled down and place one of her hands on my cheek. “We’ve all been worried about you, love.”
I look up into her eyes; the comforting blue eyes that tackled all my problems. “What’s going on in your beautiful head?” she whispered so quietly that I almost didn’t hear her.
I just shrugged, not having any proper words to answer her question. I watched as her gaze softened, she tilted her head.
“are you okay?” she tried again.
i shook my head.
“i will be, though.” i muttered, my voice croaky since i hadn’t had to talk to anyone for a couple of days.
She nodded, not knowing what she could say, but i could see in her eyes, that she wanted to ask a million questions.
“y/n… why haven’t you shown up to training.. and please don’t bullshit me.” her voice was stern, like she meant business. she knew i was going to lie, so it was a stupid question.
“i’ve been sick, Leah.” i replied, hoping she’d buy it, news flash. she didn’t.
“don’t lie, Y/n.”
i huffed, saying very fast. “i’m tired, Leah. so. fucking. tired, so i’m sorry if i had a couple of days where i just wanted to not train.” the way i said it sounded full of attitude and snark but it was the truth, i was tired.
i was waiting for Leah to scold me for the attitude that littered in my words, but she didn’t.
“that was all you had to say.” She said softly, while stroking my somewhat greasy hair. “you need a shower, love.” as soon as she said that, you could see my face change.
“i’ll help.” Leah said quickly after seeing the distaste on my face. all i could do was nod.
Leah pulled back the covers, helping me sit up by putting her hand against my back. I stood up from my bed, watching where i put my feet due to the rubbish that covered the floor around my bed.
Leah and i walked into the bathroom, she was the first one to start getting undressed, her hoodie being the first to go. i stood there, regretting the fact i agreed to shower while she was here.
Not because i didn’t want her to see me naked, but because i was afraid of her reaction to what remained under my clothes.
She turned to look at me, her eyebrows furrowing, clearly confused as to why i was still fully dressed. She went to grab the hem of my hoodie but i stopped her.
“what’s wrong?” her eyebrows furrowed even further, which was nearly impossible. i just bit my lip.
“please don’t be mad.” i forced out, my voice shaky. her face went from rested to confused, she licked her lips. “why would i be mad, darling?”
and with that, my vision blurred over, my eyes filling with tears, Leah quickly moved her hands from the hem of my hoodie to my cheeks, cooing softly. “oh, baby..”
she wiped the fallen tears, leaning forward to kiss my forehead, murmuring against it. “i could never be mad with you, love. never.”
i wiped the tears from my chin, relaxing my arms, leaving them by my side. i nodded at her, telling her, she could take my hoodie off.
Leah obeyed, lifting my hoodie over my head. once she had seen what filled my wrists, her face dropped.
“y/n…” she whispered, grabbing my hand, getting a closer look at my wrists and the cuts that were littered on them.
“i’m sorry.. i’m so sorry, Leah.. please don’t be disappointed.” i rambled out in one breath, she shook her head, croaking out. “why did you do that to yourself?..”
i shrugged once more, tearing up once again, what i didn’t know was that Leah’s eyes were filled with tears, just as mine were.
i expected Leah to scream and shout at me, what i didn’t expect was for her to bring my wrists up towards her mouth, pressing her lips against my scars, it was soft, like she was afraid to hurt me.
“i’m not mad at you, y/n, i’m mad at myself because i wasn’t there when you needed me to be.” she muttered against my wrists, that broke me. i felt like i could cry.
i moved my wrists from away from her mouth, bringing my hands to her cheeks, leaning our foreheads against one another. “it wasn’t your fault, Leah..” i uttered, trying not to cry.
in return, she pecked my lips.
we let go of one another, she hesitated at first but once i nodded, she continued to undress me, my bra, my trousers, my pants and then my socks.
we got into the shower, standing under the shower head, Leah turns the shower on. We stand under the water together, letting it grace our skin.
“i’m sorry for not texting you or showing up at training.” i spun my naked body around to face Leah’s naked body. she shook her head.
“don’t be ridiculous, you’re struggling, don’t ever apologise for struggling, y/n.”
i nodded once again, she smiled at me and i smiled back, probably the most genuine smile of mine in a while.
“i’ve got you, love. you don’t have to do this alone.” Leah stated, wrapping her arms around my waist, bringing our bodies together, i lean my head on her shoulder, uttering a soft “promise?”
to which, she replied with a “i promise.”

A Not-So-Disastrous Romance (Book 1) Chapter Sixteen
Kusuo Saiki x Reader
Chapter Sixteen: Taking Teruhashi Out (on a Not-Date)
Summary: Makoto (ew) shows up, and Saiki has to take precautions for his own life to not have more trouble. Luckily, he has (Y/N) to help him.
Saiki crossed his arms and contemplated throwing Makoto out the window for the hundredth time since he met him. Saiki had been looking forward to this event all week. (Y/N) had finally come over and was going to show him how to properly make coffee jelly at home, but as soon as they’d gotten set up, Makoto Teruhashi had barged his way in crying about how Teruhashi was angry at him (rightfully so, he was being perverted as usual). He had ruined the entire night, and Saiki’s sanity wasn’t certain it could take much more of Makoto’s rambling.
A single glance at (Y/N)’s weirded-out face confirmed they felt the same way and wanted him gone as soon as possible.
“So, that’s what happened, and Kokomi hasn’t said a word to me since then,” said Makoto, finally finishing.
“Go home, you perv,” said Saiki.
“Please, please, do.” (Y/N) nodded aggressively.
Unfortunately, Makoto ignored them to wallow in his own sadness and decided to talk some more. “To think we’re having a lover’s quarrel—”
            “You’re really not,” said (Y/N).
“—I’m in such a pickle,” said Makoto. “Oh, by the way, when I say ‘lovers’ quarrel,’ I mean between Kokomi and me.”
“We wish you didn’t,” sighed (Y/N).
“I’m the only one who can have a lovers’ quarrel with Kokomi,” said Makoto.
“Get to the point so you can get out,” said Saiki.
Makoto leaned forward. (Y/N) leaned back. “Tomorrow my drama will be filming in my neighborhood. A lot of industry people will be there, too. Once they notice Kokomi’s beauty, that’s it. What do you think will happen if they scout her?!”
            “Don’t care,” said Saiki.
“She’d be very successful,” said (Y/N), knowing Teruhashi would do very well due to her beauty and people’s love of her.
“Yes! Right after her debut, she’ll be cast as the heroine in a TV drama,” said Makoto. “She’ll be the heroine in plays and movies. She’ll be in many commercials! She’ll even be stealing work from other popular actresses.” He scoffed. “I won’t allow it! Kokomi has no interest in showbiz. So, I’ll give you permission to tell her to avoid the filming location at all costs. But don’t say anything else, four eyes. Don’t even make eye-contact. You can’t even get within ten meters of her!” Makoto glared at Saiki.
“That’s unreasonable for anyone,” said Saiki.
“Well, I’d prefer to tell her myself, but we’re having a lovers’ quarrel, so don’t screw this up.” Makoto rose and left the room.
“I don’t usually dislike people, but he really creeps me out,” said (Y/N), shivering.
“And now he’s gotten me involved,” said Saiki.
“Hey, don’t worry, I’ll tell Kokomi so you don’t have to be more involved,” said (Y/N) brightly.
“Thank you.” Saiki was so grateful to have (Y/N) in his life. They really were incredible.
l
“My brother came to see you?” said Teruhashi. “Oh, I’m sorry he caused you trouble.”
“That’s putting it lightly,” said Saiki.
            “It’s nothing,” lied (Y/N).
“But, uhm, why is Saiki standing all the way over there?” said Teruhashi.
(Y/N) looked behind them where, ten meters away, Saiki stood. “Your brother.”
“What?” said Teruhashi. “Oh, my, I’m so sorry about him.” She smiled sweetly. Stupid big brother! He’s giving Saiki trouble! I have to offer a token of apology. Hmm Ah! She looked up to see (Y/N) and Saiki walking away since they’d given the message. “W-Wait, Saiki, are you free after school today?” That’s right, apology. Saiki, how luck you are to get this opportunity. I have to apologize, so my hands are tied.
Why aren’t you considering (Y/N)? thought Saiki.
“Would you like to…go out for some tea on our way home?” said Teruhashi, looking eagerly at Saiki. “Or go to a neighboring town since they’re filming here?”
(Y/N) felt their heart drop since this was so much like a date, and no other guy in school would even think about saying no. They hoped Saiki would, though. It would hurt if Saiki wanted to date Teruhashi and not them. It really would.
I’ll treat you for a date! Now feel honored! Even though this is only as a token of apology. Teruhashi glanced at (Y/N). And (Y/N), although I like you, you get a lot of attention from Saiki, and it’s my turn as the perfect pretty girl. Now, come on, and say “oh, wow.”
Saiki, about to say no, paused and decided to say something else that would create problems for him, but it would make a point to Teruhashi about her thoughts about (Y/N)—that was one thing he didn’t let slide.
“(Y/N) and I are free this afternoon. We’ll accept your apology.” Saiki turned and walked away.
Teruhashi’s jaw nearly dropped open as Saiki, seemingly (and actually) unperturbed, invited someone else out with him and her when she had given him the chance to be alone with her.
(Y/N) found themself grinning. “See you later, Kokomi!”
“Right, yeah.” Teruhashi raised a hand, still in shock. But he should’ve said, “oh wow…”
“Didn’t want to be alone with her?” asked (Y/N) teasingly.
“If I said no, her followers would’ve hated me. I don’t want that attention,” said Saiki. And, in a more truthful sense, the rudeness would hopefully make Teruhashi stop liking him as much (which, apparently, he’d have to try some more). Also, Saiki got more time with (Y/N). He didn’t mind that.
l
After school, Teruhashi, Saiki, and (Y/N) ended up at the next town over. Unfortunately for Saiki, attention was coming to their group as everyone watched the perfect pretty girl grace their streets with her mere presence. Additionally, Saiki was dealing with Teruhashi’s fantasies of him saying “Oh, wow” and how she believed he was totally in love with her and freaking out about the chance to be close to her.
Luckily, Saiki had (Y/N) walking alongside him, and Saiki could put up with a lot to spend time with them.
“What’s that guy near her doing?” whispered one guy.
“I bet he’s her funding source,” sneered another.
“I wanna punch him from behind,” said a third.
I don’t want to deal with that, though, thought Saiki.
“Kusuo, Kokomi, do you like sweets?” said (Y/N), saving the day (in Saiki’s mind) yet again. “I saw an ad for a café nearby that looks super good.”
I’ll have some cake with (Y/N) before leaving.
l
Closed. The café’s sign was turned around to say it was closed.
(Y/N) sighed, disappointed. “I really thought it would be open. Sorry, Kusuo, Kokomi.” They really were sorry. They wanted to have a nice time with Saiki (and Teruhashi), but it hadn’t worked out.
“Well, we can always go over to the shopping district,” suggested Teruhashi, eager to try to get some of her own ideas in to impress Saiki. “We came all this way. Let’s find some good new places. Let’s go!”
Unfortunately for Teruhashi, an hour of walking at her direction passed, but they found zero restaurants. Teruhashi’s glowing smile had fallen into a sickly attempt at one due to exhaustion. (Y/N) was feeling peckish, and Saiki was also losing interest in continuing to follow Teruhashi. That being said, it was fairly fascinating to see everything not work out for Teruhashi.
“E-Excuse me.” A boy nervously stepped forward and blushed. “May I help you with something?”
“We’re looking for a place to get some tea,” said Teruhashi sweetly, her glow returning.
“O-Oh, yeah, sure!” said the boy excitedly.
“Hey, I saw her first!” shouted another.
“I’ll show you the way,” offered another from the crowd.
Never mind. Everything worked out for her.
“The sun is harsh today. Please borrow this parasol,” offered a man.
“Here’s a coupon to the café,” said the first boy again. “I’ll go ahead and reserve a table for you.”
“Wow, thank you,” said Teruhashi, smiling.
“Oh, wow!” said the entire crowd.
“It’s amazing how everything works out for her,” said (Y/N). They laughed. “I need some of that charisma.”
“I think you’re fine the way you are,” said Saiki. Besides, he’d watch out for them. As long as he was around, they’d be alright.
l
At the café, Teruhashi continued to be surrounded by other men while (Y/N) and Saiki sat across from her eating cake and drinking tea. She was satisfied, though, for now, since she had a whole group of people going “oh, wow!”
Saiki made me totally forget it, but now I remember. I’m a perfect pretty girl! Having recharged her confidence, she turned back towards (Y/N) and Saiki, eager for more “oh, wows.”
Yare yare. Teruhashi really is tough. I’ll just get through this and hurry home with (Y/N). I wonder if they’re done filming.
(Y/N) sighed happily as they finished their tea. This is nice. I’ll have to come back here at some point when there aren’t as many people crowded around. And I should bring Kusuo.
Saiki straightened as he heard Makoto and his director thinking about how they were changing location. They’re coming this way?! He took another bite of his cupcake. I should really do something soon. He took his time savoring the sweets.
“These were delicious, weren’t they, Saiki, (Y/N),” said Teruhashi.
“Yeah, they were super good,” said (Y/N), smiling.
We took our time, but this town is big. Hopefully we won’t run into him.
Nothing worked out for Saiki, though, and due to the ground, Makoto and his assistant decided to stop at that café.
Saiki stood. We better leave quickly.
“Are you ready to go, Kusuo?” said (Y/N).
Saiki stared at them and then out the window. (Y/N) observational skills paid off, and they saw the blue hair of Makoto Teruhashi in the van outside.
“You’re right, it’s time to go,” said (Y/N), standing. “We finished everything, after all.”
“Can we wait a bit?” said Teruhashi. “They want me to shake hands with them, so…” She smiled and let the line form, focusing on being the perfect pretty girl.
“Kusuo, what do we do?” whispered (Y/N).
“I’ll flip the sign.” His psychokinesis flipped the open sign to closed.
They tensed, but the two men walked back to their van instead of walking in.
            “We did it,” said (Y/N).
“We should still probably leave in case they return,” said Saiki.
            (Y/N) nodded vigorously. “Good idea.”
“6,850 yen, please,” said a waiter.
“Oh, I’m paying!” said Teruhashi, smiling and walking over. “How much is it?”
“Oh, you are? Two hundred yen, I guess,” said the waiter, blushing.
“Oh, that cheap? And I have coupons,” said Teruhashi happily.
“Then it’s twenty yen,” said the waiter.
“I hope I get reborn as a pretty girl in my next life,” said Saiki.
“I think you’re fine the way you are,” teased (Y/N), smiling at Saiki.
l
“I wonder if they’re done filming,” wondered Teruhashi. “But Saiki, (Y/N), what do you think?”
“We’ll go straight home,” said Saiki.
To support him—since (Y/N) knew at this point Saiki wanted to really go home, so they wouldn’t push his boundaries—(Y/N) nodded. “I should probably get my homework done sooner rather than later.”
Saiki paused, his clairvoyance showing him that the film crew was at the train station. He nearly sighed. It appeared they’d be stuck here a while longer.
Teruhashi perked up, deciding that Saiki must be fighting with his own insecurity about hanging out with her.
(Y/N) tilted their head, understanding they were facing another obstacle.
“Hey, if you’re not in a rush, you and I could hang out some more, Saiki,” said Teruhashi. She smiled. “Even if (Y/N) heads home, you don’t have to go.”
“Well, Kusuo and I were going to do homework together, so I guess I have to wait,” said (Y/N).
Teruhashi deflated slightly. I thought I’d get some alone time with Saiki. It’s almost as if (Y/N) knows to stick around.
They are good at covering for me. Saiki liked that—yet another characteristic in a long list that he liked about them.
“Oh, look, I haven’t been to a place like that for a long time!” said Teruhashi as she led them to an entertainment arcade. “There are so many choices!”
This might actually be a fortunate turn of events in terms of making Teruhashi hate me, thought Saiki.
“A karaoke place, so cool!” said Teruhashi, trying to hint to Saiki. I don’t feel like bowling. I wanna go karaoke.
            With that, it was decided.
l
“Another split? I have no luck today,” laughed (Y/N) as they, once again, had a terrible turn in bowling.
Since Teruhashi didn’t want to, Saiki had absolutely wanted to. This would help get her to lose interest in him.
“Strike!” announced the computer screen after Saiki went.
            Teruhashi deflated.
The entire game, Saiki made sure to humiliate (Y/N) and Teruhashi with his “skill” (psychic power). That way, Teruhashi would really lose her feelings for him. It was a little mean, but Saiki was eager to have her stop chasing him around. It caused him trouble. At least (Y/N) wasn’t embarrassed and just laughed at their own lack of bowling ability.
Still, Teruhashi wasn’t done yet, but Saiki was up to every challenge.
When she saw a claw machine with a gorillabbit, he instead won the strawberry stuffed animal and handed it to (Y/N). They turned red and fought to thank him normally, trying to rationalize that Saiki was just trying to frustrate Teruhashi. (Obviously he did it just to annoy Teruhashi, not because he saw them looking at it earlier and thought they’d like it). Teruhashi deflated once more.
When she challenged Saiki to table tennis, he beat her terribly. History repeated itself in darts and video games. Soon, Teruhashi was just sitting on a bench with a blank look on her face, disinterested and disappointed in everything.
Maybe we went a little far. “Is she going to be okay?” said (Y/N), looking at her faraway stare.
“She’ll rebound once someone says ‘oh, wow’ to her,” said Saiki.
            “Let’s head home,” sighed Teruhashi.
            “Good idea,” said Saiki.
“It is getting late,” said (Y/N).
“I’m exhausted,” sighed a voice behind them on the bench facing the other direction.
(Y/N) and Saiki’s eyes widened, and they whirled.
It was Makoto and part of his team. Because of all the people, Saiki hadn’t differentiated Makoto’s thoughts from anyone else’s, and now they were right there near them and Teruhashi.
“Four eyes?” said Makoto, blinking. “Other one?”
            I don’t even get a name?
“Kokomi?!” cried Makoto, seeing his sister walking away. His surprised gaze turned to anger as he assumed Saiki was on a date with Teruhashi (which was bizarre since (Y/N) was also there, but Makoto doesn’t have a good head on his shoulders).
“What’s wrong?” asked his assistant, walking over.
“We have to go,” said Saiki, standing and grabbing (Y/N)’s hand. He pulled them behind him, and they followed quickly.
“Hey, Kokomi, come on!” said (Y/N) brightly, and when she looked confused, Saiki made a drastic move and dragged her along by the hand.
“They held her hand! Get those two!” shouted Makoto, and his people looked around wildly to try to spot them.
I thought he didn’t want her to get attention! thought (Y/N) as Saiki pushed Teruhashi into a photo booth.
“Hey, what—” The flash went off, and Teruhashi blinked before looking back at Saiki. In the haze of light, she drew her hand back. Oh, my! How dare he take my hand and push me into a photo booth. He wants photos of me that badly?! So selfish. And yet…why am I this excited? To know he was willing to be so confident, so forward…wow.
Saiki nearly stared in astonishment as Teruhashi went back to liking him even more, but he just retreated to another photo booth to avoid the search party Makoto had instigated. He and (Y/N) stood silently as the men ran past and the photos flashed in the other booth to keep Teruhashi distracted (and, now, invested in her fantasy that Saiki wanted something to remember her by).
Saiki sighed. “Yare yare. She likes me even more now.”
“I’m sorry, Saiki,” said (Y/N), giving him a half-hearted smile. “But she does seem to really like you.” And although I think I like you for other reasons and am more aware of it, I can understand.
“I should have let you take her hand,” said Saiki.
(Y/N) shrugged. “Everyone makes a mistake.” They smiled and lifted their hands, still holding each other. “And my hand was already taken.” They spoke teasingly, but there was a warmth that, if Saiki knew their thoughts, he’d see as affection above that of friendship.
Saiki looked down at their hands and contemplated it for a moment. Although he was not one for physical touch, he’d initiated this, and now that he was holding (Y/N)’s hand, he found he didn’t want to let go. They were warm, and it was comfortable. Just like talking with them or spending time with them, it felt natural to be this close to (Y/N).
“Do you want to take a photo?” said Saiki.
(Y/N) brightened and looked at him. “How did you know I wanted to?” They knew he couldn’t read their mind with their germandium earrings on (which they would never take off).
He didn’t. He just knew that he suddenly wanted to capture this moment, to remember how nice it was to be with (Y/N), the person he had a crush on. “You mentioned you like having photographs to remember moments to Yumehara while we were Okinawa on the beach.” And I hope you had fun with me, even if I was focused on getting Teruhashi to stop liking me.
(Y/N) smiled. “I’d love to, Kusuo.”
Saiki really liked hearing the word love and his name in the same sentence when it came from (Y/N).
l
Saiki looked at the photobooth pictures in his hand in his room. Carefully, he placed it on his desk, leaning against his plant, so he could see it clearly. He sat quietly and looked at it with a now-familiar warmth glowing in his chest.
Three photos stared back at him.
One had Saiki looking emotionless as usual while (Y/N) beamed and raised their hands—still entwined—like a superhero in the air.
The second had (Y/N) making half a heart with their pointer and middle finger while Saiki looked at it.
The third has Saiki completing the heart, still no expression, but his gaze was firmly on (Y/N)’s joyful face.
As he looked at the pictures, Saiki smiled.

what about a drabble about a first date with logan who's trying so so hard to have manners and be a gentleman but he's nervous and keeps messing up and its so adorable and cute????? of course reader tells him to chill out and be his normal fucking self because that's who she likes. I felt so bad for him in a clip that's circulating on tiktok where someone says to him that he's not the kind of guy they'd take home bc that's only for good guys
Okay so I loved this so much and then I got excited ab writing Logan and it turned into more of a fic than a drabble, but here it is 😭
First time writing him so I hope it sounds alright! I did use a little something from the recent movie to add a bit of oomph to the ending. Again, thank you much for this request, it's so cute 🥰
Just realized I made it an f!reader insert, but if you want to message me, I can easily switch some things around and repost if you want a diff reader!
The Right Guy
Pairing: f!reader x Logan/Wolverine
W/C: 1.1k
Fluff/diet angst, Just a few F bombs here, nothing bad (they told me absolutely no coke)
******
You scold yourself as you check the small watch on your wrist for the tenth time in ten minutes. In your defense, the time is absolutely crawling by. Logan should be here for your first date in about five minutes, and you’re nervous as hell.
You’ve been crushing on him since you were hired at the mansion a few months ago, so since he asked you out a week ago, your stomach has been constantly swarmed by butterflies. He’s sweet, funny, carefree, but mature—and not to mention sexy as hell. You really don’t want to mess this up.
Lucky for you, it seems that he feels the same. He tends to be a little more nervous around you, his blush more prominent when you tease him. It both comforts you and gives you confidence. He seems to genuinely like you for who you are.
Because of that, you decided to wear your favorite dress for your date. He told you he’d be taking you to a restaurant, but didn’t get specific, so it was honestly the safest choice anyway. It’s one of those that could be casual just as easily as it could be fancy. A few well-selected pieces of jewelry can make a world of difference, after all.
You glance in the mirror, and then back at your watch. It’s right as the long hand makes a round to signify that it’s two before seven that you hear a sharp knock at your door. You jump up from your seat, slightly startled. If anyone had been in the room with you, you'd probably be embarrassed.
Thankfully, since you’re home alone, you ignore the scare and head for your front door. You take one more deep breath and pull on the knob to reveal your handsome date. You look Logan up and down, expecting his usual outfit—blue jeans, a white shirt, and either his leather or jean jacket. What you get instead, is a suit. You have to make a physical effort to not show your confusion. Okay, maybe you expected a nicer shirt or something—ironed jeans if he really wanted to go crazy—but a suit?
“Oh, hey!” Unfortunately, it’s a bit harder to keep the confusion out of your voice. Don’t get it wrong, it’s nice of him to try to dress up for you, and he does look very nice, but he doesn’t look like Logan. Your eyes catch on his hair—the usual tufts you love so much look to be somewhat flattened by a gel.
It’s while you’re distracted by this that he reveals a hidden hand holding a bouquet of flowers—your favorite, actually. So why do you feel almost…disappointed? No, that can’t be it. It’s so cute that he’s putting all this effort in for you, but you really just want the normal Logan.
“Oh, wow,” you say, trying to shake off whatever this strange feeling is. “Thank you, Logan.”
You carefully accept the flowers and step aside to let him inside while you put them in water. It’s strange that he hasn’t said anything else yet. Wait, should you say something? No, he usually says something. There’s usually a joke cracked by now. It’s weird that he’s not, right? Ugh, maybe it’s you being weird? The awkward tension between the two of you is suffocating.
You’re almost disoriented with your overthinking as you move about your kitchen, pulling down a vase to fill with tap water. Logan, of course, notices.
He softly clears his throat. “Everything alright?”
You set the vase down on your island and look at him, lips pursed. Should you say something? Well shit, he probably sees something wrong by now—you’re staring at him like you want to say something. Damn it.
You open your mouth and close it again. How do you even say what you want to say though?
“Yeah, everything’s fine,” you lie. Right to his face.
You smile and walk back to him, trying your best to ignore the expression on his face. Great, now you’re being weird, too. Why the fuck is this weird?
You breathe out as you close and lock your door, mentally prepping yourself for what you’re really hoping will be a good date. Logan’s waiting for you next to his—
Car?
Where the fuck is his bike?
Whatever—it doesn’t matter, it’s fine. Everything’s fine. It’s probably just in the shop or something.
You give him a tight-lipped smile as you walk to the vehicle, and he opens the passenger door for you. You slide into the seat and wait for him to shut the door before exhaling again. This is all very sweet, but you’ve got to say something.
You stare at him as he gets into the driver’s seat. Again, he notices. There’s a thick, momentary silence.
“Look, bub, whatever it is, I—”
“You’re not acting like you,” you blurt.
He stares at you for a second, but you’re pretty sure he knows exactly what you’re saying. You’re pretty sure that’s exactly what he’s trying to do.
“Logan, you don’t have to put on this show for me,” you say as gently as you can, though it comes out maybe a tad aggravated.
He lets out a slow exhale through his nose and closes his eyes for a blink. You feel bad pointing it out, but there’s no way you can go through a whole date with this stiff act. He opens his eyes back and you offer him a sympathetic smile, your hand reaching out to cup his jaw. He leans into your touch, his own hand coming to envelop yours.
“I want to go on a date with the Logan I already know, with his bike, and his blue jeans—you move your hand to his hair, messing it up enough to loosen the gel hold—and his crazy ass looking hair.”
He huffs a laugh, looking at you with tired eyes. You understand how much he must have stressed over all the little details he put in for you.
“It was very sweet of you to do all this, but you don’t need to perform for me, Lo.”
He nods slowly, taking a moment to think over everything. “It’s been a long time since I took a chance with somebody,” he confesses, his gruff voice holding an emotion that makes your heart ache for him. “I wanted to be the right guy for you.”
Your stomach flips. “Logan, you are the right guy for me. You’re always the right guy.”
Before he can say anything else, you lean forward and plant a kiss on his lips. Surprise halts him for a second, but he’s quick after to reciprocate, his lips moving slowly but passionately with yours. One of his large hands snakes behind you to cup the back of your neck, the other gently tilting your chin.
You kiss until you’re out of breath, and when you pull away, you let out an airy laugh. Despite the suit, he looks like your Logan again. Wild hair, wild eyes, pink in his cheeks.
“C’mon, Romeo,” you tease. “Let’s get that damn jacket off and order a pizza and beer.”

WIP Wednesday-Bad Habit pt. 2
WIP Wednesday Continued....
While on vacation after his WrestleMania loss, Roman comes to Smackdown looking to talk to Savannah, who he hasn’t heard from in three weeks. Upon arrival, he sees Carmelo at the show with Savannah and makes a point to remind her just who has her heart.
Tumblr media
Three Weeks Later
Roman’s Pov
“I can’t believe she is here with his ass,” I hissed watching Savannah and Carmelo backstage.
“Well, he is her man, what do you expect? I’d be around too if my lady’s ex was still tryin’ to get with her,” Jimmy said as I shot him a look.
“Ain’t no tryin’ to get wit her, Savannah knows what time it is and I have no problem reminding her,” I said confidently watching the couple walk over to talk to Paul.
“You know he’s getting drafted to smackdown with us,” Sefa said as I frowned at him.
“Excuse me? What the hell you talkin’ bout?”
“You heard me, Savannah told me they were drafting him to smackdown. So, when you come back from this well needed vacation, be an adult,” Sefa said a little bolder.
I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the so-called happy couple and it made my blood boil.
Now, I gotta deal with seeing this motherfucka every week following Savannah around like a lap dog.
“I ain’t gotta do shit but get my girl back,” I said looking at the photo on my phone of Savannah and I.
“Uce, you had your girl, but you were chasing something else.” Jimmy said as I growled.
“I wasn’t ready then and we both agreed to the breakup. I mean we stayed friends,” I said as Sefa rolled his eyes.
“Oh, so you ready to be in a relationship with Savannah now?” Jey asked as I nodded.
“Yea, I am. I know what I want and that’s Savannah, it’s always been her.”
I heard Savannah’s laugh and looked back and saw Carmelo kissing her on the neck, making her blush as our boss looked on in amusement.
“Melo! Stop,” I heard Savannah laugh he scooped her up in his arms stealing a kiss as she caressed his face.
What the fuck in she is doing with this clown? There is no way he is pleasing her like I can.
I felt disrespected watching them, I mean a couple weeks ago she was in my bed, screaming my name at the top of her lungs.
“Aye, we gotta get ready for the show, stay outta trouble,” Jimmy said as I smiled.
“Oh, I’m good fam… I’m about to head to my dressing room to watch the show,” I said still eying Carmelo and Savannah.
“We’ll see about this shit,” I muttered pulling out my phone shooting Savannah a text.
Savannah’s POV
“It’s really good to have you on board,” Paul said as Carmelo smiled, completely on cloud nine that he was finally on the main roster.
“I just want to say thank you for the opportunity and I won’t let you down,” Carmelo said as my text alerts went off, the familiar tone letting me know Roman was near.
“Who is it bae?” he asked as I nervously cleared my throat, quickly responding to Roman's message, with a question of my own that he didn't take it too kindly.
Tumblr media
“Uh, just Trin letting me know she would be home tomorrow, and we could go shopping,” I said feeling horrible about the white lie I just told.
I mean Trin did text me that about thirty minutes ago, so it wasn’t a complete lie.
“I’m up soon so I’m going to go get my mind right,” Carmelo said as I smiled truly proud of him but those texts from Roman had me on edge.
I almost felt guilty for Kissing Carmelo before he went off into gorilla to prepare for his match.
Knowing I was playing with fire, I started toward my office ignoring Roman’s request.
Just as I tried to open the door, Roman wrapped me up in his arms holding me close, dropping a tender kiss on my neck.
 Damn him….
"What are you doing?" I hissed as he chuckled at my attempt to flee from his arms.
“You just refuse to follow directions, don’t you?” Roman whispered as I looked around to see if anyone was watching us as he caressed my stomach.
“Roman, why are you following me? Someone might see you,” I said in a panic removing his arms from around my waist as he shrugged.
“I don’t give a damn what people think Savannah, but how you gon’ ignore my text and sneak off,” Roman said as I ignored him and went into my office, hoping he would get the hint but to no avail.
“I’m not doing this here with you Roman,” I whispered as he followed me into my office, slamming the door and locking it.
“You have been avoiding me for three weeks. Your gonna talk to me, 'cause this shit is getting stupid now.”
“Don’t be slammin’ my damn door! I told you I’m not doing this with you here, I’m working! I hissed as he scoffed.
“Oh, but we are doing this here.  You can’t talk to me, the man you love, but you really like out here in front of our coworkers, and family with this motherfucka.
“Don’t do that..... Acting like I’m doing something to you or I broke your heart. You ended it, not me!” I screamed losing my cool.
“So to punish me you paradin’ him around, throwin’ it in my face, letting him kiss all on you n shit,” Roman hissed as I threw my hands up in the air in frustration.
“I didn’t parade nobody around; he has a match tonight!” I hissed pissed off at his assumptions and the pure nerve.
“Stop playin’ with me Savannah, dump the pretty boy, and let's start over. This shit has gone on long enough, I’m sorry, ok.”
“I don’t belong to you Roman; you can’t tell me what to do. We aren’t toge-” his lips crashing against mine stopping my rant.
“You do, and I belong to you,” he panted as we clawed at each other’s clothes.
It has been three weeks since we’d seen each other and we both were feenin’…..Bad.
“I’mma show you who you belong too and it ain’t him,” Roman growled, wrapping my legs around his waist, and carrying me to the couch.
“Show me then,” I taunted as he growled. Ok, maybe I took it too far. This was dangerous, we were at work, and anybody could walk by and hear us, but we didn’t care.
After he laid me down on the couch, I watched him with bated breath as he went to the counter and grabbed a towel.
“What are you doing?” I asked as he laid the towel out it out beside me.
“Take the dress off, lay on the towel, and don’t make me tell you again.” His powerful sexy voice made me clench my thighs together.
“It’s going to get messy, and I don’t wanna waste a drop. Cause I ain’t stoppin’ till you cum in my mouth, and all on this dick,” he declared with a groan.
Tingles began to wander throughout my entire body as I slid over onto the towel, taking my dress off, knowing he meant business.
The look of pure hunger in his eyes as he eagerly sank to his knees, ripping my panties before burying his face in my welcoming center as I groaned in pleasure.
He was always this way, eager to please me, and to prove a point.
What was the point you ask?.......I belonged to him.
“Roman, we can’t keep arguing and keep ending up like this,” I moaned as Roman devoured my pussy with his mouth without a care in the world as I tried to catch my breath.
“I told you I ain’t stoppin’ till you cum in my mouth,” he moaned caressing my thighs, gently lappin’ up my juices as my body arched up against his mouth.
“We gotta stop this!” I yelped closing my eyes as he continued his assault on my wet and tender pussy, working me into a frenzy as I fought to surrender my all to him once again.
“Savannah, look at Daddy,” he moaned as I willed my eyes to his, seeing that familiar gleam of pride gracing his handsome face.
Proud that he had me at his mercy, proud of the fact that he could have me any and every way he wanted.
Proud that he could have me whenever or wherever he wanted.
“Roman, wait a minute,” I whimpered pushing at his head as he raised his head slightly, replacing his mouth with two of his fingers. Though giving me a breather, he was focused on getting what he came here for.
His passionate gaze held me captive as his fingers curved against my g-spot. I gasped at the new sensation as he licked his lips watching me in awe.
“Yeeaa, you talkin’ all dat shit, but you know Daddy knows every inch of his pussy and you love it,” he moaned as my body trembled in gratitude.
“Now what do you need to tell me?” he asked, his voice deep and mesmerizing.
“Thank you, so much Daddy!” I exclaimed gripping his hand as he went deeper.
My earlier thoughts long removed; this was dangerous but so fuckin’ good.
“Your welcome baby, I love pleasin’ you,” he whispered as my body moved against his fingers. My body betraying my mind as I licked my lips.
Seeing the remnants of my essence dripping from his beard and lips was stirring something deeper within me and he knew it…
He knew it because he knew me, and he loved that shit.
“Mmhm, you see it don’t you? You love to see all dat good, good, drippin’ from Daddy’s lips and beard, don’t you?” He asked.
His fingers masterfully thrusting against my g-spot. “Yes! I love it, Daddy. Oouu, I do.. So much!” I cried.
“Uh huh, you love it cause’ it means Daddy been puttin’ in dat good work, don’t it?” Roman groaned licking his lips in anticipation of what was to come.
“Yes! Fuck, yes! “I screamed as I felt my body beginning to ache with need.
“You need Daddy’s mouth, and fingers don’t you?” He whispered as my body trembled with need as a strangled cry escaped my lips.
“Tell me Savannah, will that make my pussy cum for me?” he asked as I fell deeper under his spell and didn’t want to be rescued.
“Uh! Yes!….Roman, yes! Please…. Make me cum!” I cried, not too proud to beg nor care who could be walking by as he growled in satisfaction as I bent to his will.
“All you had to do was ask… Stop fightin’ it, Savannah. Let me give you what we both want.”
“Which is what?” I gasped, wanting to hear him say it as he smirked, nipping at my inner thigh.
“Me makin’ my pussy cum,” his deep voice confessed as he went back to work, his mouth devouring pussy whole as I screamed in pleasure.
“You’re going to cum in my mouth,” he moaned as I gasped feeling the end near as his words exciting me even more.
“ Mmm, I plan on it.”
“And then…..You gonna Cum all on dis dick,” he moaned against my sex, as he continued to lap up my juices eagerly.
His passionate gaze burning a hole in my heart and soul as he took me to the edge.
“Roman, shit!” I gasped grabbing the back of his head, as he continuously swirled his tongue around my clit, sucking, and nibbling on the sensitive nub. His fingers teasingly curving in and out of my hot wet center at a steady pace.
His mouth sending toe curling vibrations down my spine.
Suddenly he wrapped my legs around his head, going even deeper.
Shit, he ain’t playin’ right now.
“W- Wa- Wait, it’s too much…Mmm, Roman!” I screamed clawing at the back of his head as his grip tightened around my thighs.
His strong arms holding me over his mouth as he quenched his thirst.
“Shhh…….. Don’t fight it, I know just what you need…..And trust me, it’s never too much,” he moaned.
Gripping the sheets, I looked at him in awe, biting my bottom lip trying not to scream so loud as he took me higher and higher.
He looked so fucking sexy on his knees pleasuring me selflessly as I finally relaxed my body, surrendering all and welcoming all he had to give.
“Yea, that’s it…… Relax and give in to what you need,” he moaned as I writhed beneath him unable to think straight. My moans getting louder and louder.
“Oh! Fuck! Roman...Mmm, baby!.”
“Mmhm, dats it… Give dat shit some sound, 'cause’ I know it feels good,” he moaned, on a mission to blow my mind.
Carmelo who? What was this hold Roman had over me that I couldn’t resist.
“Mm, oh, Roman! I….I.. Mmm!” I screamed as he growled knowing I was close.
“I know it baby, my princess is doing so good, you almost there,” he praised as I cried in pleasure falling apart in his arms as a satisfied primal growl escaped his lips.
“Yes! Fuck!” I gasped as my body arched of the couch from the intense pleasure as he snatched my hips back to his mouth.
“Mmmhm, don’t run….. This is all for you, enjoy it.”
“Yes! Oouu, fuck!” I screamed as my orgasm continued to wash over me.
The slurping sounds coming from his mouth as he drank my essence turned me on even more as I moved against his tongue.
“Mmm, Fuck! I’m so proud of you, givin’ Daddy all dat good good.”
My state of euphoria intensified as he moaned welcoming my waterfalls, sopping me up whole as my body trembled, trying to come back down to earth.
I was emotionally and physically spent, and he loved it. His moans as he cleaned me up will definitely be etched in my mind for all eternity.
Fuck, he was so good, and he knew it.
“You’re such a good girl, fuck.” He praised wiping the remnants of my essence from his beard with a sly smile.
“I can’t believe you,” I gasps as he chuckled, pleased with himself slightly lowering his sweatpants.
“What, you looked so good, I couldn’t help it. It’s been weeks,” he said slowly gripping his dick and rubbing it along my sensitive slit.
“Roman! We don’t have…..Ah!” I gasped as he slowly guided himself inside me inch by glorious inch.
“Yess, that’s my girl, look at you takin’ it all…. Fuck, yea…Take what’s yours….Take all dis dick,” he praised as I ran my hands down his chest meeting his thrusts.
His grip on my hips tightening as he thrusted in and out at a moderate pace as I purred beneath him.
“Does he dick you down like me?” Roman asked sinking deeper as I clawed at his chest moaning in pleasure.
“Don’t ruin it, please not now,” I gasp not wanting to discuss Carmelo at the moment.
“I know he don’t, you know why?”
“Why?!” I gasped as he angled his hips hitting my A-spot, a spot only Roman has been able to find.
“Cause’ this pussy mine, and she only gets this wet for me…Yea….She only squirts for me,” Roman gloated as tears weld up in my eyes from the amazing pleasure.
“Roman, I’m close,” I gasped as he looked at me with hunger in his eyes.
“I know, so am I, but I need something from you first.”
“What babe?”
“Tell Carmelo it’s over and marry me,” he whispered against my lips as my eyes snapped open at his request.
“Wh..What?” asked unsure if I heard him correctly as his mouth overpowered mine as we shared a deep kiss. Only parting to catch our breaths.
“Marry me, Savannah,"” he moaned wrapping my legs around his waist as he began thrusting with wild abandon rendering me a writhing mess as I melted into his powerful embrace.
“Roman!” I cried as our lips met in another passionate kiss. “Fuck, I love you so much, Savannah,” he rasped, his declarations of love making me fall even deeper in love with him than I already was.
“I love you too,” I cried, his thrusts becoming more frantic as I blushed, hiding my face in his neck, holding onto him like a lifeline as the sounds of him swimming in my welcoming ocean filled the room.
“Uh! Shit!” I gasp in shock as I felt him smirk against my neck.
“Uh huh…. My pussy talkin’ to me real good, you bout to cum for Daddy, I know it?” he groaned, nipping at my neck as I heard a knock at my office door.
“Savannah you in there?” I heard Carmelo say as I froze.
“Roman, stop,” I whispered as he grasped my chin making me look at him.
“I already told you I wanted you to marry me. You think I’mma stop just cause’ your lil boyfriend is outside?” he asked, never stopping his deep thrusts rendering me speechless.
“Savannah, I ain’t stoppin’…. I want him to hear,” he whispered as I gasped at his words.
“Yea, I want him to know….I want him to know who you belong to,” he groaned going deeper as my back arched against him in shock and pleasure, painfully biting my lip trying to keep quiet.
When Carmelo finally stopped knocking, my phone began vibrating and it bout scared me out of my skin as I saw Carmelo’s picture on the screen.
“Look at me Savannah,” Roman demanded caressing my face bringing my attention back to him as the panic began to sit in.
Did he hear us? Did he leave? Is he waiting outside?
“Hey, I heard him leave, it’ ok.  Just focus on us,” he groaned running his thumb across my bottom lip as I felt the room spinning, my head thrown back in pleasure, gasping for air.
“That’s it, there’s my beautiful girl. Let go baby,” he whispered swallowing my cries as we came together in an earthshattering orgasm.
How do we keep ending up here?
As we came down from our high, the guilt began to set in as Roman tenderly reached up and wiped my tears.
“Savannah, I want you to know as much as I wanted him to hear us, I would never put you in a situation that could hurt or embarrass you.
"I know," I whimpered as he kissed my forehead caressing my arms.
“I meant what I said, I want you to be my wife,” he said with conviction as I nodded trying to control my tears knowing I would eventually have to make a decision.
I was thankful our secret was safe for now, but I couldn’t keep going on like this.
Damn, I just kept digging myself in a deeper.

Hilton Garden Inn
Savannah's Room
Carmelo’s POV
“Where you goin’ baby?” I asked knowing exactly where she was trying to run too…The shower….
“I’m going to take another shower,” she said casually trying to pass me as I stood up blocking her path to the bathroom.
“You don’t need another shower, especially since I haven’t even got you dirty yet,” I whispered taking her in a passionate kiss as she whimpered against me.
“Mmm, babe, I need to shower,” she moaned as I pulled her closer.
“Aye, I love the smell of you, not soap,” I moaned moving my kisses to her neck knowin’ it would drive her wild.
“Carmelo, babe,” she trembled against me.
I knew she slept with Roman tonight, and I wanted to be angry, but I couldn’t….
Why?
She was never mine to begin with, she was his. I knew it from the beginning but tried to make her mine anyway.
Working her into a frenzy I pulled away, admiring her beauty.
“Why did you stop?” Savannah gasped as I caressed her face.
“I can smell him,” I whispered as Savannah stilled in my arms, fear adorning her beautiful face.
“W- Wh-What are you talking about?” she asked dumbfounded as I sighed.
“You took a shower at the building trying to hide it, but I can still smell his cologne on your dress," I said as the color drained from her beautiful face.
When were you going to tell me you slept with him?” I asked, as Savannah's eyes instantly filled with tears as I confessed my knowledge of her secret.

Bucky stares down at his phone and sighs.
He wants to call you, genuinely, so why is dialling your number so difficult?
Perhaps it’s too soon, is what he tells himself. It hasn’t even been a full day since the end of your date, calling now probably makes him look desperate.
Should he message you? Tell you that he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about you all day? Ugh, no… that seems extremely forward for someone he’s only been on a single date with, regardless of if it’s the truth.
There’s never been anyone whom he’s connected with enough to warrant a second date, let alone have him promising to call. He’s completely out of his depth, drowning in a sea of anxiety and no one has taught him how to swim.
Bucky knows he’s overthinking, but you make it hard to think clearly. You have his brain short circuiting, reforming synapses so that all his thoughts are rerouted to the same thing: you.
Turning his phone off, he sets it down beside him. Just because he isn’t calling straight away, doesn’t mean he won’t at all. It’s probably better to wait and not seem super eager.
Or is that counterintuitive? If you enjoy someone’s company, should you let them know so you can see them again as soon as possible?
Fuck, why is this such a daunting task? He’s never had an issue with talking or flirting with anyone before, it seems to come naturally to him. And yet the thought that he’ll say the wrong thing, and fuck up whatever it is between the two of you is making his stomach churn with prickling nerves he’s never experienced before.
Perhaps he’ll find the courage to call tomorrow.
* * *
“You seem distracted, what’s on your mind?” The familiar voice from the driver's seat of the ambulance pulls Bucky from his daydream.
You, is what Bucky thinks. You are constantly on his mind. Him and his best friend Steve are half an hour into their shift and you have not left the forefront of his mind in that entire time.
It’s like he’s in a trance.
“There’s this girl from the hospital…” Bucky trails off, unsure how to articulate exactly how you’ve bewitched him since meeting not even a week ago.
The night before last wasn’t just another hookup. At least, not to him.
“I’m gonna need a little more information than that Buck, there’s been quite a few girls of yours, especially from the hospital.” Steve laughs, but Bucky’s chest tightens at the insinuation that you’re just another fling, even though Steve doesn’t know any better.
“Two nights ago we went on a date, it ended up back at her place.” This is probably not news to Steve - he’s heard many stories about Bucky’s one night stands which would have started exactly like this. But there is one huge difference this time around. “And then I told her I’d call.”
“You’re thinking about a second date with her? She must be something special.” Bucky chuckles under his breath. Yeah, you really are something special. So fucking special.
“She’s beautiful, intelligent, funny, witty. When she was treating that little girl from the train derailment she was so good with her, kind and patient. I don’t know how to describe it, we just click. I don’t think I’ve ever allowed myself to feel more than physical attraction for someone but with her it just happens, I can’t stop myself.”
He doesn’t want to admit it to himself, but Bucky’s already addicted to you. He’s only had one fix, but he’s already showing symptoms of withdrawal. Every second apart feels like an hour, craving your company and the rapture firing in every neuron of his body when you’re in his presence.
“Look at you actually falling for someone.” Steve teases, without even knowing the full extent of how enthralled Bucky is with you. “So when are you seeing her again?”
Silence fills the front seat of the ambulance when Bucky can’t answer the question.
“Bucky, you have to see her again! Listen to how you’re talking about her, I don’t think I’ve ever heard you actually speak about wanting to see someone again. You need to call her.” Steve stops at a red light and looks over to Bucky in the passenger seat. His best friend knows him better than perhaps he knows himself but doesn’t have the same obstacle with letting people in as Bucky does.
“That’s easier said than done.” Bucky can’t mask the dejected tone in his voice, and Steve recognises the crestfallen hang of his head, knowing exactly what he means without voicing it aloud.
“I know you've been through a lot in your life Buck, you’ve built walls up to prevent any more heartbreak…” Steve starts, but Bucky doesn’t need yet another reminder of his tragic backstory.
“Alright Mr I minored in psychology, I get your point. I’m damaged goods and don’t let people get close to me.”
“It’s just a second date, Buck, you aren’t asking for her hand in marriage. Just see where it goes.” Steve makes it sound so easy. Most people wouldn’t get so stressed about something they would consider as minor as a second date, yet Bucky feels like he’s about to expose the most intimate parts of his soul to someone for the first time.
“But I don’t want to hurt her. I know nothing about dating or being in a relationship.” Bucky pauses - the fact that he’s even considering something as substantial as a relationship with you punches him in the gut. He’s never wanted that with someone before. “And I don’t want to get hurt myself.” Because all Bucky has known is relationships breaking down. To him romantic relationships are synonymous with pain and he’s had enough of that for a lifetime.
“You’ll never know if you never try. I know you think letting someone in will lead to heartbreak, but what if it’s the opposite? What if by letting this person into your heart you finally find love and contentment?” Bucky has never allowed himself to imagine a life where that is a possibility - opening himself up to that prospect sounds like a recipe for more suffering. Besides, he’s been damaged goods for a long time, he’s sure there’s no one who would want to put up with him anyway.
“You really are a hopeless romantic.” Bucky comments, trying to avoid the questions Steve is raising, and divert the topic of their conversation.
“I want you to be happy, Buck. You’ve never afforded yourself that courtesy.”
Though his experience screams at him to run in the opposite direction, that this would be a horrible decision leading to further pain, Bucky finds it hard to believe someone as sweet and good-natured as yourself would ever hurt him intentionally. Even if there is only a slim chance that he doesn’t completely fuck this up, given Bucky cannot stop thinking about you, he supposes it’s worth a shot calling you.
“Well, maybe it’s finally time I do.” Bucky mutters under his breath.
* * *
You’ve been checking your phone periodically throughout the day to se if you have any new notifications from Bucky, but each time your phone lights up, a new wave of disappointment floods your chest.
You wonder if the notion of actually calling you, or simply messaging, has even crossed Bucky’s mind once since he left your place about 36 hours ago, or if he already knew it was an empty promise at the time he made it.
“Heard anything yet?” Wanda asks hopefully, but you shake your head in response. The first thing Wanda asked during your next shift together was how your date went with Bucky - between treating patients you described the picnic Bucky set up on the riverbank and (in slightly less detail) the euphoric night you shared when you made it back to your place.
“I’m stupid for actually believing he’s going to call, aren’t I?”
“…No.” Wanda offers after a brief hesitation which tells you more than the single word does. Sensing your regret in asking, she continues on. “Sweetie, only you know the connection you share, I can’t speak to that. If you feel like there’s something special there and he promised to call, then you have every right to believe him.”
Perhaps you’re being foolish, you should know better than to hang your hopes on a man who is notorious for being a fuckboy, but you really thought Bucky was being genuine when he promised to contact you. That the blissful night you shared, and the waves of ecstasy which melded into a flood of pure pleasure, meant more than just a one night stand.
Or at least it did to you.
“Just because he’s never pursued more than a first date with other people in this hospital doesn’t mean he isn’t now, or isn’t with you. Sometimes it just takes the right person, that could be you.” You take some comfort in the sincerity of her tone, but the voice in the back of your mind reminds you of what Wanda alerted you to prior to your date: no one gets a second date with Bucky Barnes.
“You’ve changed from giving me no hope to giving me false hope, Wan.” You joke, trying to brush off the conversation and not reveal just how heartbroken you’ll be if Bucky ghosts you, even with Wanda warning about his ways.
Internally you remind yourself that it’s only been a day and a half and to not be too mad at him, yet. Perhaps he intends to call, but hasn’t gotten around to it, though you’re pretty sure you’re only telling yourself that to stop the perpetual ache in your chest rather than truly believing it.
“He promised he would call, that’s not false hope.” Wanda advises, shooting you a look of encouragement as you both complete paperwork for your respective patients.
At that moment, the doors to the ER swing open and none other than the paramedic you were just speaking about walks in wheeling a patient.
You hate how good he looks, long chestnut hair framing his face and those dazzling blue eyes you’ve dreamed about shine from all the way across the room. He’s unfairly attractive, and he walks into a room like he knows it too.
Him and his partner consult the head nurse of the ER, who, after examining her clipboard for a moment, points towards your direction, making your stomach flip.
Steel blue eyes meet yours and for a moment your entire world stands still. The sounds of the busy ER fade away and even the presence of Wanda beside you dissolves into non-existence when his eyes find you and a smile overtakes his features. That damn cheeky smile which makes your knees weak.
He truly is infuriatingly beautiful.
“Hey.” Is all you can think to say as they approach, a lump in your throat forming which would prevent you from voicing any more words if your brain could think of any other than how strapping and handsome he looks in his uniform.
“Hi.” Bucky responds softly with a dreamy smile, eyes lingering on yours for a long beat before turning away. How could someone who looks at you with such warmth not want to see you again?
You shake the thought from your mind as your focus on the patient, a young man with scared brown eyes. You can’t afford to be distracted right now, even if you desperately want to look back at him and revel in the fondness brimming in his eyes which was so apparent during your date.
After Bucky’s equally tall, broad and handsome paramedic partner gets you up to speed on the patient's history, you get to work on taking his vitals.
“Rogers, Barnes, give us some space to work, please.” Dr Strange requests and without the chance to say another word to each other, both paramedics disappear out the corner of your periphery.
What you don’t notice is Bucky’s soft gaze on you through the glass walls of the patient room as you start your work up, believing that he had simply got back in his ambulance and out into the field.
“That’s her?” Steve asks from beside Bucky. He knows full well it must be you, he’s never seen his best friend look so enamoured with a girl, nor lost for words as when he set eyes on you, but he wants Bucky to admit it aloud.
“Yep, that’s her.” Bucky says with a pride that if Steve didn’t know any better, would suggest that her meant his girl. Bucky answers without taking his eyes off you, the corners of mouth tugging into a smile. His best friend has it bad, and he doesn’t even realise.
Steve suspects if he doesn’t remind Bucky they have a shift to get back to, he’d happily watch you work for the rest of the day.
He allows Bucky a couple more minutes of that luxury before heading back to the ambulance, knowing his best friend well enough to realise before either Bucky or yourself do, just how significant Bucky’s feelings for you are.
* * *
Bucky steps out of the shower, the warm water having rinsed the hard days work off himself.
He knows he needs to call you. Waiting any longer, especially after seeing you today, even if it were only for a brief moment, would surely only indicate disinterest. That’s so far from how he feels about you, so he decides needs to take matters into his own hands and fulfil the promise he made two nights ago.
A fresh swarm of butterflies fills his stomach. He’s actually going to do this.
He just hopes you’re after more than just another hookup. Bucky’s used to being the one only interested in sex, but if the roles are reversed this time, it’ll be his exposed heart being ripped from his chest.
No, he can’t think like that. He’s finally giving himself a chance at happiness.
Bucky reminds himself that you asked him to promise to call after your date. It’s not just him that wants this, you want him to call.
With that thought, he pulls out his phone and quickly presses on your contact, so he doesn’t chicken out, and with a shaky hand holds his phone to his ear. Bucky’s heart beats in his throat as the first ring sounds, and then skips a beat altogether when the click of you answering fills his ears.
“Bucky, you called.” He can hear the smile in your voice through the line, but what makes his heart clench is the trace of surprise he can perceive, as if you truly hadn’t expected him to call.
“I did promise to.” He reminds you, but it doesn’t entirely eliminate the bitter shame bubbling in the pit of his stomach that even though he did in fact promise, you didn’t fully believe him.
“I’m happy you did. I had a really great time the other night.”
“So did I.” Those three simple words don’t sum up just how much Bucky wholeheartedly enjoyed every second he spent with you, regardless of if that were naked in your bed or getting to know you on a picnic blanket as the sun set across the horizon, but in his anxious state he can’t find words more poetic to express it. “And I’d love to do it again if you’re up for it.”
“Hmm, I’m gonna have to think about it.” He can tell by the light tone of your voice you’re joking, but he supposes he deserves waiting for an answer considering he made you wait for his call. “Of course I’d love to go on a second date with you James.”
The combination of your words and the fact that you punctuated the sentence with his true first name sends Bucky straight to heaven. Everything about you makes him completely weak in a way he has never experienced before. All of those walls Steve seems to think Bucky has built around himself don’t appear to exist with you, instead, you’ve come into his life as easily as walking through a front door with a welcome mat out front.
“I guess I’m going to have to outdo a picnic at sunset then.” He chuckles to himself, knowing that he’s never had this problem before, but realising it’s a good problem to have.
You continue to talk well into the night, forgetting what time it is, and that you both have early shifts in the morning. None of that matters when you’re so caught up in each other.
Bucky simply enjoys the sound of your voice, and how it soothes the remaining anxiety which was swirling in his chest before calling you. He certainly isn’t hanging up first, not when talking with you has been the best part of his day.
He’s chasing happiness. And he might just find it with you.

jack: so what is going on with you and luke
jack: you guys were being weird earlier
abigail: jack we’re in the same room just talk to me
jack: luke’s in the other room i am being safe
abigail: whatever
jack: so why has he been ignoring you all night and why does quinn know and i don’t
abigail: how do you know that quinn knows🤨
jack: bc he told me not to ask
abigail: yet here we are
jack: i dont like the vibes i need to fix them this is weird
jack: you never fight
abigail: fine he’s mad bc i made peace with rudy and i was with him the other day
jack: is that it
jack: your breakup was toxic but if you’re good with him now idk why luke would be mad about it
Abigail bit her lip, glancing at Jack from across the couch. “There is something else,” she said quietly.
Jack looked up from his phone and set it down beside him. “What is it?”
“You can’t say anything to anyone because Luke and I haven’t talked about it yet.” Abigail scooted closer to Jack and held up her pinky.
Jack intertwined his pinky with hers and motioned with his other hand that his lips were zipped. “I won’t tell a soul.”
“Okay,” Abigail said cautiously. “Luke and I kissed on New Year’s.”
Jack’s eyes blew wide. “What?” he practically shouted. Abigail slapped her hands over his mouth.
“Shut the fuck up!” she reprimanded through gritted teeth.
Jack made wild gestures with his hands and pushed hers away from his face. “That’s not what I thought you were going to say. You can’t just do that!”
Abigail shrugged. “Well, sorry to be blunt but I’m not sure how else you wanted me to say it.”
“I cannot fucking believe this,” Jack whispered. Abigail felt obligated to say something, but Jack brought his finger up to shush her. “You told Quinn and not me?”
Abigail rolled her eyes. “No, idiot. He just knows Luke’s mad about Rudy. He doesn’t know about the kiss thing.”
Jack grinned. “So I’m special.”
“You are not special,” Abigail said, exasperated. “I just don’t know what to do about this. He hasn’t said anything about it.”
“Abby, he’s probably waiting for you to say something,” Jack rationalized. “You know how he is.”
“Maybe. Should I talk to him about it?” Abigail asked.
Jack looked hesitant. “Can I ask you something?”
“What?”
“Do you love him?”
Abigail’s eyes widened and she felt her heartbeat quicken in her chest. “Jack, what?”
“I’m serious, Abby,” he said, his face stern.
“Jesus, I don’t know. I don’t even know where to go from here,” she admitted, running a nervous hand through her hair.
“You better figure it out because this is a big thing and I don’t want either of you getting hurt,” he said seriously.
“I know.” Abigail nodded solemnly.
“Do you want to be with him or not?” Jack asked finally.
Abigail thought for a moment. She always stopped herself from thinking about Luke like this. It felt forbidden to want him the way that she knew she did.
That night, when they kissed, it felt like she was on fire. She had never felt like that with any of her exes, not even Rudy. She always felt different when she was around Luke. He wasn’t her brother like Jack and Quinn were. He never was, even when they were kids. She knew the answer to Jack’s first question.
“I do,” she confessed softly.
“Then you know what to.”
“Yeah.”
Jack stood from the couch. “Goodnight, Abby.”
“Goodnight, Jack.”

Chapter 17: The Lies We Tell Ourselves
Content warning: suggestive sexual content
🔗 Songs for this chapter:
Under Your Command - Stina Nordenstam Hours - FKA Twigs
* * * * *
Chapter 16 | Chapter 18
* * * * *
No one else will harm you here.
Sukuna’s parting words have been all you can think about. You’ve spent countless afternoons turning them over, trying to decide if you can trust him. Strangely enough, you do choose to believe him—and that scares you more than you’re willing to admit.
The week following Sayuri’s attack, you keep to your chambers, only leaving when necessary—to bathe or to eat, which you're not surprised to do alone.
You haven’t seen the King of Curses since that night—since he healed you, since that strange moment of intimacy crawled between you two, or… whatever the fuck that was.
Now, he's gone again.
When he disappears, it rarely lasts more than a few days, which makes you think he’s never too far. But today marks three days—longer than usual if you’re counting right.
For the most part, this doesn’t bother you. All you can do is track his movements and try to predict when you will have him within arm's reach again.
For killing purposes, of course.
In the meantime, you welcome this small reprieve. It gives you time to dispel the confusing emotions that have begun to slip through the cracks. There’s a growing need to shut them away—to seal them off, every look, every gesture, every moment. Contain them, avoid them, throw them away.
Guard yourself.
Though, you long for some sense of company, particularly Ren’s. You miss her, and she is nowhere to be found.
She took a damn knife to the throat for you, and you desperately want to talk to her, thank her, show your gratitude. You assume she’s resting in her chambers, not from the injury—she was healed—but from the trauma of it all.
In that lonely week, you spend your spare time writing letters to your sister, and the message always comes out the same: How are you? I miss you. Write soon. I love you.
It’s simple, yet no response ever comes.
Why?
It’s been a little over a month since you first stepped through the shrine’s doors, and you’ve yet to receive a single correspondence.
Not one.
This ongoing silence… something must be happening back home, but you have no idea what.
All you want to know is that Yuna is safe. The need to find out swells with each passing day, even overshadowing your task.
If you lose her, if you truly lose her, you’ll have nothing. What would you have beyond that? There’d be no life. No family. No love.
Nothing.
“Uraume,” you call softly one afternoon as you sit alone in the private dining space, trying to swallow tea past the lump of dread filling your throat. “Has there been any word from my sister? My father?”
The likelihood of your father writing is doubtful. The question is no more a shot in the dark than anything else.
A brief apologetic look crosses the pale-haired attendant's face before it settles back into its usual emotionless mask.
“No, my Lady. There has been no reply.” They pivot back to finish preparing your meal.
Right.
The words sting, but they don’t surprise you.
You absentmindedly nod.
That lump in your throat grows. If you open your mouth again, you might sob.
Not trusting yourself, you glance down at your gloved hand, clenched tightly around the silk of your kimono—one of the five Sukuna had gifted you. Lately, you’ve been wearing them in his absence, finding a small, bitter satisfaction in knowing he won’t see you in them. But the pettiness does little to stifle the unease of this situation.
Back home, something has to be wrong. It’s the only explanation.
You inhale.
“Yuna… she hasn’t written to me all this time…” you murmur more to yourself than anyone, your free hand tightly curling around the ceramic cup for stability.
Quietly, Uraume approaches, a wooden tray balanced in their hands. The warm aroma of the food—grilled trout, fluffy steamed rice, tender eggplant, and a perfectly peeled and sliced pear—fills the small room. You glance at the meal, noting how carefully it's been prepared. Having learned your lesson regarding the meat, you’ve slowly returned to eating it, if only to keep up your strength.
They place the tray before you; steam curls up. It looks delicious, but your stomach spasms at the sight.
"I don’t know your sister, my Lady.” They step back, casting their gaze across you. "But perhaps she is simply preoccupied. These matters can take time."
Preoccupied.
That could be true.
With no direct male heir in the Kasai clan, your father has had Yuna rigorously trained to marry into a clan of equal standing. You just hope that’s the reason for her silence—that she’s simply busy learning court etiquette or something ridiculous and mundane.
Still.
“It’s unlike her to stay this silent for so long,” you huff, frustrated, before finishing your tea and placing the cup down. “She would have sent something, anything, even if it was just a few lines…”
What if Onishi has done something to her?
Your father loves leveraging Yuna, dangling her in front of his chief advisor like a twisted game. To him, she’s become nothing more than a prized lamb being led to slaughter. And Onishi—he's always given her those nauseating looks like he’s just waiting for the chance to sink his teeth in.
You pinch the bridge of your nose as if it could suppress the swirling paranoia.
Yuna is safe. She has to be.
You pick up your chopsticks but only stare into the food before you.
“Do you think… there’s a chance the letters aren’t getting through?” you ask, grappling for some thread of reason.
There’s a pause.
You turn to look at Uraume, who tilts their head, considering.
“It’s possible. We’ve sent the letters, but the journey can take time, and delays are not uncommon.” Their eyes flit to the cooling food in front of you. “Try not to let it trouble you so much, my Lady.”
You could, but you won’t.
With a twitch of your face, you attempt to pull a smile onto your lips.
“I won’t.” You lie.
These questions will linger, trouble you, and sit uncomfortably in the back of your mind until you can finally get a response.
As you continue to sit in the private room your meal goes untouched. Your stomach has pulled into a tight, hard knot, so you push the food around on the plate instead.
Every once in a while, the quiet is broken when an attendant enters, exchanging words with Uraume—always out of earshot, always with a tight frown—before slipping away again. You still feel like an outsider here, but there’s no real point in trying to feel comfortable.
Yet, you can’t help but notice your eyes occasionally drift to the empty cushion at the far end of the table, the one where the monster usually sits.
Without him, the space feels vacant… almost lonely.
Cold.
The thought startles you so much that a sharp snort reverberates up your throat, the sound harsher than you intended.
“My Lady?” Uraume asks, organizing some ceramic dishware off to the side.
“Oh...” Clearing your throat, you try to regain your composure. “Um, could I have some sake, please?”
Too many thoughts are drowning you right now. You need an escape to find some relief, even if it’s burying yourself in a haze of intoxication for a while.
Uraume picks up a bottle by its slender neck and a ceramic cup, then moves toward you. Their movement disturbs the dust motes circling in the mid-September light filtering through the paper screens.
One month.
You have one month remaining to kill Ryomen Sukuna.
You exhale.
They place the cup down, tip the bottle back, fill it to the brim, then step back.
“Thank you.” You take a small sip. The alcohol seethes all the way down to the bottom of your stomach in the best way possible, warmth alighting your body.
Warmth.
Your eyes flick up to the empty cushion again.
Where the hell are you?
You lift the cup for another taste of—
Knock, knock, knock.
Three very precise taps.
You set the cup aside.
Uraume moves and slides open the door.
“I was told you were dining alone, my Lady.” Ren stands there.
“Ren.” Your voice catches as you shoot to your feet, nearly knocking the table over like a fool.
She looks the same—stiff, rigid, stern. Her robe is perfectly arranged, without a single crease. Hair pulled back neatly, not a strand out of place. God, she’s a sight for sore eyes. She pauses at the threshold, her gaze briefly flicking toward Uraume before bowing.
You quickly round the table, hesitating as you approach her. Ren’s hands tighten in the familiar way she always clasps them in front of her.
You freeze. She, like you, values her space.
The thought of embracing her crosses your mind, but you hold back, clasping your hands behind your back and fidgeting with them instead.
An awkward silence stretches until Uraume shifts.
“Ren.” The corner of their mouth twitches as they speak her name. “I’m glad you’re finally up. You look well rested today.” They turn to you. “My Lady, I’ll leave you. If you need anything, I’ll be in the kitchen.”
You give a faint nod, grateful for the time alone with your attendant.
As they leave in silence, you reach for Sukuna’s cushion, pulling it closer to yours, plopping it down and fluffing it out.
“Please, join me.” You gesture for her to sit. But she looks at you as if you’ve committed some grave offence by disturbing and offering such a thing.
You can’t help but smile as you settle back into your spot.
“It’s fine. It’s just the two of us.” You offer the words as a comfort, not fully realizing their weight. With Sayuri gone, it is truly just the two of you now.
She hesitates but eventually lowers herself down. Her pale eyes remain distant as she settles. Her hands sink into her lap—your gloved ones do the same. When she does get comfortable, her back is so straight that it’s as if the cushion is made out of wood rather than silk.
“I haven’t seen you since that night,” you begin, unsure how to approach the subject. “How are you?” Not being well-versed in comforting others, you soften your voice as much as you can.
Ren eyes you, jaw tightening.
“I’m fine, my Lady—”
“Please, don’t call me that.” She stiffens, and you swallow. “After what happened, there’s no need for formalities.”
She nods weakly.
“What happened… what I did… was done out of duty, my Lad—” she winces.
Your eyes soften.
“It wasn’t just duty,” you say gently. “You stepped in… even though you didn’t have to.”
Her eyes flicker, hands clenching into little fists where they rest on her thighs.
“I did what was necessary. Sayuri… She took things too far. Everything had reached a breaking point, and she just—I should have known better...”
Her voice trails off.
You shift.
“Did you know? Before it happened?” You push your lips together, unable to stop yourself from asking. “Did you know that she harboured such feelings toward me?”
Silence.
Ren straightens, shoulders squared.
Three long heartbeats pass before she finally speaks.
“I… suspected something. Sayuri always seemed close to Master Sukuna, but I didn’t think she would go that far.”
You look at her closely, realizing there’s more to the story.
“You knew.” Your voice is more curious than accusatory. “You knew. And you didn’t say anything.”
Ren’s shoulders start to tremble.
“In the beginning, things were fine when I first arrived here, but not long after… she started twisting things. I felt confused, lost.” She clips. “Then you arrived—I didn’t think she’d actually—” She cuts herself off, exhaling sharply. “I should’ve acted sooner.”
You sit back, absorbing her confession. It all makes sense now—why Ren has kept her distance, always avoiding you. She feels responsible.
“You didn’t know she’d try to kill me.”
“I knew enough—” The words rush out, and there’s nothing but regret there. “I knew enough my Lady… I saw the signs. I should’ve stopped her before it came to that.”
Ren has been more of an enforcer than a companion, but now you can see the cracks and kinks in her once wall—the guilt, the pain of being manipulated by someone consumed by her own dark obsession. An obsession with someone who, in his own way, could drive anyone into a sublime kind of madness.
“You’re one of the reasons I’m still alive, and I’ll forever be in your debt.”
Ren’s shoulders tremble harder this time.
“I let her get too close.” She struggles to keep her composure as her eyes turn glassy. “I let her manipulate me. I let her do this.”
Exhaling, you lean across the cushion and place a gloved hand on her sleeve.
“Ren… it’s over now, all right?” You have to swallow at seeing her like this. “If it’s any consolation, we were both on the receiving end. She stabbed both of us. That practically makes us twins.”
A faint, rueful smile touches your lips, hoping to pull her out of her darkening thoughts.
She nods politely, though her expression is still strained.
“Here.” You rise to your feet, fetch another ceramic cup, and slide it towards her. “I think we both need this.”
You pour her a cup of sake, then sink back into your cushion.
Eyeing her, you lift your cup and take a sip. Ren does the same—
Her lip pulls back into a grimace.
“I’m sorry, my Lady.” She smacks her lips together before covering her mouth with her hand. “This is my first time tasting alcohol. It’s… disgusting.”
You smile.
“You’ve never tasted alcohol before?”
She takes another cautious sip, this time preparing herself for the taste, and nods.
“I grew up in a poorer region of the north. We didn’t have access to many things.” She pauses to consider her words, then takes another sip. “It’s also not something we are offered here either.”
“You’re from the north?”
You take a longer drink, surprised by this. She lived in your father’s domain. The thought of his neglect toward her region makes your skin crawl.
Her eyes lift over the curve of the cup.
“Yes, I am. Same as you.”
Your stomach lurches, and you reach for the sake again.
“We might need more than one cup.”
* * * * *
Halfway through the bottle of sake, the distance between you and Ren closes. Everything feels warm and light—your head, body, even your words. Ren manages to coax a smile from you; in return, you earn a genuine laugh from her.
It’s strange to experience such emotions here, at the shrine. You used to think it was a hellhole. But it’s starting to become beautiful in its own twisted, dark way.
Cups in hand and with alcohol humming through your veins, the two of you slip out into the garden, just beyond the private dining space. It’s a place you rarely visit, if ever.
Standing there, you smell the damp earth, like moss and flowers in peak bloom. Fresh and wild, with a hint of decay on the horizon.
In your flushed state, you slip your sandals off, letting your bare feet meet the stones of the path beneath. The heat from the afternoon sun warms them, coaxing your body to relax further. There’s only the slightest nip of the approaching autumnal months that hangs in the air.
“You know,” you mumble, weaving through the flowers with a lazy sway. “This garden seems so out of place.”
Ren walks beside you, her face flushed from the alcohol.
Once she started to pour her own cups of sake, you realized she was rather enjoying herself. Her posture is now relaxed and less rigid. A softness taking place.
“Is it?” she muses, lifting a slight shoulder. “Maybe it’s here for that reason. A reminder that not everything in this place has to be hard.”
You hum, moving deeper into the garden, sake in one hand, kimono skirt in the other. The dark, burnt red fabric glints in the sunlight, highlighting accents set in the deep hue of a bellflower at midnight. Its sharp, angular tailoring adds to its elegance. In such a captivating garment, you certainly look the part of the King of Curses' wife.
“I’ve never seen you out here before,” your attendant comments.
You lean in to sniff a plum blossom.
“Well, I don’t usually come here. It feels like a distraction. And distractions aren’t really helpful for me.”
Especially one enormous, malevolent distraction.
Ren chuckles brightly, a lovely sound you aren’t familiar with yet.
“Distractions aren’t always bad, my Lady.” A glance at her, and you see a small, almost mischievous smile making its way across her face. “I mean, look at us. Drinking, wandering through a garden. If you ask me, it’s a nice distraction.”
You manage a soft laugh as the barriers you’ve kept up begin to fall, little by little.
“I suppose.”
You continue to walk, the comfortable quiet interrupted only by the sound of footsteps and the glistening of the nearby pond. Then, as if she’s been weighing her words carefully, Ren speaks again.
“You know… things have changed since you arrived.” She pauses, thinking. “Or maybe it started before.”
You cast her a sidelong glance.
“Such as?”
There’s a beat.
You take a sip of sake.
Ren doesn’t say anything as her eyes drift to wander ahead.
“Master Sukuna.”
That has you standing still.
You're unsure how your arrival has affected the untamable King of Curses.
“How’s he… changed?” you ask, disguising your curiosity with another more prolonged sip.
Ren, too, takes a drink.
“When you saw us with him on the night of your wedding, it had been quite some time since he last requested our company.” She takes a second sip. “That night, he was distracted… agitated.” She takes a third, nearly finishing her cup. “He never sought out Sayuri or myself since that night.”
What?
You blink, wondering if the alcohol is making her words sound like nonsense. But the look she gives you says otherwise. Brows drawn together, apologetic.
“That’s not possible,” you mumble, “I saw Sayuri go to him weeks ago.”
Didn’t she?
Ren shakes her head.
Suddenly, your kimono feels too tight, the sun too hot, and your gloves more suffocating than ever.
“No. Sayuri told me he has refused her each time.” She pauses—your face tingles. “And I haven’t been with him either. Truthfully, I was never attached to Master Sukuna the way the others were—not in that sense. When the letter from your father arrived months ago, I felt… relieved.”
You down the rest of your sake, feeling it burn all the way to your stomach.
“I’m sure it has nothing to do with me,” you say, walking away.
Ren moves to catch up.
“I’m not so sure about that. He’s watchful around you. It’s subtle, but… it’s there.”
No. Nope.
The stunning late blooms, dripping in soft reds and purples, do little to help you stay grounded while the garden’s path seems to narrow, feeling smaller, more confined.
“You’re imagining things.”
“Maybe. Or maybe you’re pretending that something’s not there.”
You stop walking.
What the hell is this something, anyway?
You turn to face Ren.
“It doesn’t matter. It can’t matter… not really.”
Ren watches carefully.
“Why not, my Lady?” Her words turn too soft for you at this moment.
Why not?
Why not?
Blood roars in your ears.
“Because—”
I must kill him.
Because this is all a lie. Meaningless.
“Because… there’s nothing between us—” You feel like you might be sick. “Because this marriage is nothing more than an arrangement between him and my father.” You circle back along the path, heading toward the private room. “Because they both got what they wanted, and I’m nothing more than a trinket to be bartered off.”
A tool for two powerful, ambitious men. A tool for Sukuna to revel in your clan’s submission and a tool for your father to regain what was taken from him.
You walk faster, leaving your sandals behind. You need food, more sake, something.
“My Lady!” Ren hurries to catch up, but you keep moving, feet carrying you away. “It’s not just the way he looks at you.” She hesitates. “Maybe it’s not about us, your father, or anything else. Master Sukuna is holding back… as if he’s waiting for something.”
“Waiting for what?” you snap, your mind spiralling.
Ren stays silent.
Good. You need this conversation to end, never to be spoken of again. You need things to remain how they are. Distant. In name only. You need to protect yourself.
As you approach the door, you glance over your shoulder at her. There’s a frown on her face that makes you shrink.
“Besides,” you say lightly, trying to diffuse the tension as if this conversation hasn’t just shaken the ground beneath you. You grip the door and slide it open. “We haven’t even consummated this damn union. According to him, I’m too weak. Unfuckable. And that’s fine. I’m more than fine with leaving it at that.”
You step inside, watching as Ren follows, her eyes coasting from you to over your shoulder. That’s when she drops into a deep bow—one filled with respect. One not meant for you.
The King of Curses’ energy cracks across you, hard, right between the shoulders, raising every hair on your body.
Shit, shit, shit.
You turn.
On the cushion you dragged closer to yours sits the four-armed demon himself. He casually eats from your untouched plate of food, pinching a bit of rice and slowly sliding it into his mouth.
Your palms prickle with sweat as his eyes drag from the food to your body, taking in the kimono he gifted you. The bastard doesn’t smirk—at least, not openly—though the way he covers his mouth while chewing hints at some smug amusement.
He chews, swallows.
“Wife.” His voice, so deep, has your body tightening with warmth, urging you to squeeze your thighs together.
What the hell is wrong with you?
The sake. The sake is to blame.
Sukuna leans away from the table, resting his weight on his lower pair of arms. The movement parts the front panels of the dark blue kimono he’s wearing, revealing the slightest expanse of his chest and the black ink on his smooth skin. Your hazy eyes are drawn to the sight.
More warmth pulls into your stomach.
Damnit.
To hide your sudden embarrassment, you bow.
“You’re back.” You fiddle with your silk gloves and the cup in your hand. “It’s nice to see you again, Lord Sukuna.”
Silence.
Your head throbs, your vision swims, and you struggle to focus on the hem of your kimono, trying to push aside the earlier revelations.
“Tch.”
At his dismissive sound, you raise your head, as does Ren.
“Leave,” he orders, waving a lazy hand in your attendant’s direction.
“Yes. Of course, Master.”
Ren seems to know exactly how to act—proper and formal—while you struggle to remember the normal rhythm of breathing.
She places her cup on the side table and moves toward the door. Over Sukuna’s back, she glances at you, shooting you a look that says good luck. As if imparting all that information wasn’t enough. You’re surprised she isn’t grinning at the situation.
“My Lady,” she murmurs, and there it is—her grin.
Damn her.
Ren departs the room with a slight wobble. When the door shuts with a soft thud, it echoes too loudly.
Alone, you slowly turn your attention to Sukuna, who continues to eat from your plate, acting as if you don’t exist in the same room.
“That was interesting,” he drawls, not looking at you. “Bringing up our lack of consummation. Are you trying to embarrass me? Or yourself?”
You scoff.
"It wasn’t like that. I just—"
“You just what?” He cocks his head, voice deceptively soft. “You thought I wouldn’t hear? Or maybe”—he pauses, a cruel smirk cracking his countenance—“you wanted me to hear.”
Heat licks across your face at the acquisition and his capricious mood.
"Of course not," you snap.
Sukuna leans back, relaxing further, no doubt enjoying this little scenario.
“No?” He picks up another piece of food, examining it briefly before popping it into his mouth. “Then why bring it up?” He tilts his head slightly, his eyes trailing lazily over your breasts, then lower. “Unless… you’ve been thinking about it yourself.”
You clench your jaw.
"That’s absurd."
His gaze narrows.
"Is it?"
“Yes, it is absurd. Besides—” You draw in a breath. “I wasn’t aware you were back. You have a habit of disappearing and reappearing. It’s rather annoying.”
He clicks his tongue.
You step closer, only to stumble a bit, but catch yourself in time. Still, the slight sway in your step doesn’t go unnoticed; his four eyes narrow.
“Annoying, am I? That’s funny, coming from someone in your position.”
You scowl.
“Yes. Annoying. You’re always so—” You struggle to find the right word. “Elusive. Popping in and out. Coming and going.” Your hands start to gesture in frantic bursts with each word, his eyes following closely. “How am I supposed to keep track of you?”
Stop. Talking.
You wince, tongue loosening far more than it should.
Sukuna’s smirks.
“You make it sound like you’re keeping tabs on me, wife. How sweet.”
You grit your teeth, realizing how he’s twisting your words.
“That’s not what I—”
“Shut up and sit.” His eyes flick to the cushion beside him. "Before you fall on your face and embarrass yourself as you did at our wedding.”
That reminder has your mouth drying out.
“I tripped because you had me wearing that horrid kimono,” you retort, though you did intentionally get drunk to cope with that life-altering day.
“Kimono,” Sukuna snorts, “it wasn’t the fucking kimono.” He slams his upper left elbow on the table, pointing two fingers at you. “You drank an entire bottle of sake. Then that vulture swooped in to pick up the pieces and put his disgusting hands all over you.”
You scoff.
Is that jealousy?
"Nakamura? The man whose head you so graciously removed after he stepped in to help me up?” You take two steps closer. “Besides, you—” You stab a finger in his direction. “—drank all the sake during the ceremony. Then you left with the entire fucking bottle.” Why the hell were you even arguing about this? “That sounds awfully like you were watching me that night. Tell me, dear husband, who’s keeping tabs on whom now?”
You smile sweetly.
His gaze thins, and oh, you can’t describe the pleasure of seeing such a reaction.
He’s annoyed. Irritated.
It’s glorious.
Your smile turns feral.
“Sit. The fuck. Down,” he growls. "Now."
That douses it.
You sit quickly, a bit too heavily, the cushion softening your ungraceful descent. Sukuna’s eyes never leave you, drinking in every clumsy movement.
Tucking your legs back into a kneel, you place the cup on the table and then smooth out your garment, trying to appear proper.
“So, where do you go?” you ask, the lingering effects of the alcohol stoking your curiosity. “When you disappear like that, I mean.”
Sukuna cuts you a look, tilting his head slightly.
“Is that concern I hear?”
“No.” You shake your head. “I just want to know when the peace will be broken again.” You lie. “You leave, and when you return, the air shifts. It's… suffocating,” you whisper as if sharing a secret.
He stares at you.
You stare at him, realizing you’ve been blathering about nonsense. The need to escape his heavy red gaze grows stronger as he remains silent.
But then he moves.
Slowly, his upper left hand reaches toward the plate. Sukuna pinches a bit of fish and rice between his fingertips, giving the task care and devotion. Once he's done, he leans forward, extending his hand to you.
“Eat first.” There’s a manic grin on his face, the tattoos on his cheekbones lifting while his four eyes crinkle, glinting wickedly. “And maybe I’ll indulge your insatiable curiosity about where I go.”
Fuck that look.
Your nostrils flare.
Intoxication paired with the King of Curses can only lead to disaster.
Luckily, your rational side saves you. This scenario feels familiar. So naturally, hesitation slithers in. You tense, gaze honing in on the food poised between his fingertips before glancing up at him.
Something twisted overcomes his features.
“Open up for me.” His voice is calm as he speaks.
You aren’t quite sure if that order has two meanings.
Still, you don’t budge.
“Wife—” That energy of his starts to make itself known, curling tight around your throat. “—I won’t ask again.”
Swallowing any pride left from this conversation, you lean forward. Your lips part, and you pull the food from his fingertips, letting it slide inside—savoury and salty. Sukuna pulls back but remains close, watching your lips move as you chew and swallow.
“There.” The points of his canines become pronounced. “Good girl.”
You glare.
”Don’t call me that.”
His grin widens, huffing a chuckle.
“Ah, so the brat doesn’t enjoy praise?” He selects a pear slice this time. The fruit becomes lost between his massive fingers. He leans in so his mouth flirts with the crest of your ear. “Would you prefer it if I degraded you? Put you in your place? Which is beneath me,” he murmurs, his voice hot.
Heat pools between your thighs.
He pulls back.
You clear your throat softly.
“No…”
You sound unsure.
“Hm, such a pity and a waste,” he coos, red eyes flaring. “Now—” The pear comes to sit at your bottom lip. “Be a good girl for me again. Open.”
Fuck, this arrogant man will ruin everything.
Licking your lips, you part them. While he gently places the bare fruit on the flat of your tongue, his eyes become hooded. Your mouth closes, tasting it, and his thumb brushes against the curve of your lip before he pulls away—a calculated touch that makes your skin ache with heat.
You chew and swallow.
“There, I did what you asked. Now, are you going to tell me?”
Something noxious pulses in his aura as he regards you.
“Northeast,” he says flatly, leaning back to put distance between you two. He rests his bottom arms out while his upper pair curves to rest on his thighs.
You blink dumbly.
“That's a direction.”
“My, my, aren’t you clever,” he mocks. You roll your eyes, and the corners of his stupid mouth curve in a way that makes it harder for you to look away. “Some of my territory has been raided.”
Raided?
You sit up a little straighter, looking at him—really looking. He’s telling the truth; what reason would he have to lie? And who is brazen enough to invade territory under the King of Curses?
It seems like a death sentence.
That thought makes you wonder about your own situation. If he knew the truth, how quickly would the betrayal have him acting? Immediately? Would he torture you before he’d kill you? Or would there be some hesitation?
Your eyes meet his.
“By who?” you murmur.
It’s rare to get anything from him, and you want more. Any information could be useful.
His lip twitches.
“You know how I feel about nosy creatures.”
“Oh, come on.” You give him a playful smile, eyes wide and innocent. “Tell me.” You tilt your head, exposing your throat, and his eyes skim down it, continuing lower to your chest.
He goes rigid, a scowl overtaking his face. The monster looks at you as if you’ve just affronted him, a heavy furrow settling in his brow.
Your smile withers, act faltering.
Fucking damn him.
Your eyes flit to the plate of food, lingering.
With all the elegance you can muster in your foggy state, you remove one of your gloves and pick up a slice of pear before scooting to the edge of your cushion. Sukuna watches you warily as if you might stab him—which, to be fair, isn’t entirely out of the question. You settle close enough that your knees brush against his shins.
You lean in just a little closer, your hand extending slowly, softly.
“Now you.” Your eyes fall to his mouth—the most rigid part of his face, aside from the mask. “Open.”
He stares at you, his lips drawn into a frown that you doubt you could pry open.
You edge closer, your gloved hand resting on the firm muscle of his calf as you lean your upper body forward.
His eyes narrow.
You tilt your head, angling for a better view of his dual visage.
“Please, my Lord,” you whisper, “allow me to feed you.”
A twitch at his lip—then, finally, he relents.
Your cheeks flush, blooming with colour, and your heart climbs into your throat as he leans in. His hand comes up, fingers anchoring around your wrist, holding it in place. He pulls you closer, your fingertips brushing against his mouth.
Ignoring the desire in his gaze and the way your own lips part, you gently place the fruit onto his tongue. His eyes remain locked on yours, following your every movement like a predator toying with its prey.
Your mind blanks as his mouth closes around your fingers. He takes a slow, wet pull, dragging the fruit from you. His throat and jaw work in tandem, and a low rumble rises from his chest. The sound animalistic, making your core clench.
Time slows, and you expect him to pull away, but the tip of his tongue teases across your fingers, and he only sucks them in deeper.
A scorching flush burns across every part of your body.
Crimson eyes don’t look away; he’s daring you to, but you don’t, even when you’re imagining his tongue tracing every part of your body. Down the underside of your breasts, flicking across your nipples, down further to your thighs, pushing between your folds, which are becoming soaking the more he continues this erotic play of his hot mouth.
You must be mad, or the alcohol is driving your body because you lean in closer, pressing your face near his, your weight sinking into him.
At last, he pulls your damp fingers free. He chews, and a burst of sweet-smelling fruit fills the air. He swallows, his throat working as thick, corded muscles ripple and flex.
A look of bliss swims across his cruel features. His frown softens, his red orbs fall heavy, and his expression grows relaxed, sated.
The room spins away.
Has he always been this beautiful?
You tilt your chin up, closing the space between you, the ripple-like pattern in his eyes becoming painfully clear.
His grip on your wrist tightens, pulling you into him with steady force.
You inhale, breath shaky. He’s calm and entirely focused on you.
Apparently, your stupid, touch-craving body hasn’t caught up with the conflict in your mind, because a dark temptation unfurls—something you’ve never done with anyone, something you never imagined wanting from this demon. You feel the agonizing desire to lean closer, to brush your lips against his. Just to feel your breath mix, to taste him, to experience his mouth on yours.
Yes, sake was a terrible idea.
You dip closer, eyes hooding.
He doesn’t move, but his fingertips press into your skin, beckoning you nearer.
And you do.
His bottom pair of eyes drop to the curve of your mouth while his upper ones stay locked on yours. You shiver.
“Tell me, brat,” he mutters quietly, his pupils widening, darkening. “What do you want?”
Goosebumps pebble the expanse of your body.
Your tongue peeks out to wet your lips. A noise like a guttural purr rolls up from his chest.
Fuck.
“I want…”
He arches his eyebrow, and inclines his chin, waiting for an answer.
Your heart races.
I want you to hold me down. To kiss me… to fuck me.
Instead.
“Who raided your territory?” It’s all your tongue can form.
Somehow, the air leaves the room.
A flicker of annoyance imperceptibly passes over his face, the muscles around his eyes twitching.
“Tch.” The grip he has on your wrist falls away. He leans back, pulling his leg from where your hand still rests, forcing you to retreat. “I told you. I don’t like nosy creatures.”
Your skin prickles, the withdrawal sending a tremble of embarrassment from your neck to your skull.
Sukuna says nothing more before he takes another bite of food, as though your small attempt at playfulness had never happened.
Heartbeats pass in stony silence, both of you shut off from each other, walls rising into place.
Finally, he pushes to his feet.
You look up at him, trying to gauge his mood, but his expression is unreadable, his presence distant, as if he’s already elsewhere.
“I’m leaving again,” he says, eyes meeting yours before pulling away. “But this time, I’ll be gone longer.”
Your irritation spikes; you want to lash out but remind yourself to hold back.
“How long?” you ask, knowing the answer will be vague and unsatisfying.
“A week. Perhaps longer.”
You frown, caught off guard. A week or more?
He takes a step toward the door, his back to you. His hand rests on the door frame, fingers curling against the wood as he prepares to leave. For a moment, he says nothing, and you think that’s the end of it. But just as he’s about to step out, he glances back, unsure.
“At the stables, there’s something waiting for you,” Sukuna mutters, “if you recall what I told you about running away, I expect you to heed that warning.”
Your brow furrows in confusion. You sit up, trying to make sense of his cryptic words.
“My Lord, what do you mean at the stables?”
“You’ll know when you see her. She's yours.”
What?
“Her?”
Before you can press him further, he’s gone, slipping out of the room, and the door slides shut behind him with a quiet thud.
* * * * *
Later, once the alcohol has worn off, you slip out of the shrine and head toward the stables.
A cool wind brushes against your skin, clearing the lingering fog from your mind. You try not to dwell on what happened—or rather, what didn’t happen—between you and Sukuna earlier. At least you only succumbed to the burning need you feel for him, not the nonsense Ren was spouting. For the most part, you managed to keep your guard up.
When you step inside the stables, you’re greeted by the familiar sight of the intimidating warhorses. An empty stall confirms Sukuna’s departure.
You continue to scan the rows of stalls, gliding past the beasts.
Then you see her.
Tucked at the back.
A mare, sleek and strong, all long legs. Her coat reminds you of snowmelt, with a soft dappling of faded grey. She’s smaller than Sukuna’s mounts but perfect for you.
At the stables, there’s something waiting for you.
For you. She’s yours, and she’s beautiful.
You step closer to the stall.
Where did she come from? How did he acquire her? Or, more so, who did he kill?
You approach until you stand before the elegant creature. She flicks her ears, nostrils flaring to take you in.
You smile.
Then, something falls into place.
Weeks ago, at the beginning of the month, there was the man the King of Curses permitted to live—the one with the family, two children, one on the way—the horse breeder.
Sukuna never did tell you why he let him go…
Turmoil and emotion swell and lodge in your throat, but somehow, a laugh escapes.
“Idiot,” you breathe, swallowing the burning in your chest.
You extend a gloved hand to the mare, but she flinches, huffing softly. She seems skittish, so you take it slow, allowing her to warm up to your presence before stroking her nose.
Eyes drifting, they fall from her to the smooth leather of a bridle and saddle hanging on the wall, clearly meant for her. The craftsmanship resembles Sukuna’s own, but this one is much smaller and has more padding for comfort.
You stare at it, mind racing.
He’s just given you a way out—a horse that can take you anywhere, far away from here—far away from the shrine. Unless you heed his warning, you risk supposedly being torn apart. Would he actually come after you and do such a thing?
You swallow.
Nonetheless, you can leave. You can go home, ensure your sister’s safety now, and inquire why the hell your father has yet to send word here. It will take a three-day ride there and back. If you leave now, there’s a good chance you can outride the King of Curses and his horse. But that’s depending on where he’s gone.
Your hand lingers on the animal’s neck, the warmth of her body grounding you.
You think of your sister.
The mare tosses her head, snuffling.
You slip your hand away and pull the tack from the wall.
It’s decided, one way or another, that today you’re leaving. You’re going home. Then, you’ll return to the shrine as if you never left.

Hawkins all lit up for Christmas is like something out of a postcard. It’s been a warm winter, which means big fat snowflakes piling up in fluffy drifts all over town, and string lights have been going up along every street and building to make the whole town look like a gingerbread fantasy.
Steve remembers it feeling a lot more magical when he was a kid, back when he didn’t have to shovel his car out of the drive or worry about winter tires. They don’t salt the back ways early enough in Hawkins, so on days like this, it always takes him longer to drive to work, going slow and cautious down the main roads, trapped in the Hawkins version of a traffic jam as everyone else does the exact same thing as him.
When he finally gets to the print shop, Donna McCorkle’s waving enthusiastically at him from the parking lot.
“Steven, honey! I’m so glad to see you out and about. I heard—” she leans in and whispers in a way that might actually be more conspicuous than yelling at the top of her lungs. “I heard about you and Laura. Sweetie, I’m so sorry, we all really thought you two would be taking a little stroll down the aisle by spring.”
“Thanks, Mrs. McCorkle,” Steve says. “I’m okay, honest. Just wasn’t meant to be, I guess.”
Jerry nods in greeting as Steve gets in and hangs up his winter coat. “Heya, Harrington. You’re six minutes late.”
“Sorry, boss,” grunts Steve, scraping off his boots.
“S’fine. Considering the circumstances and all. Just don’t get too hung up on her, eh, son? Can’t let some woman get you down. That’s no way for a man to live.”
“Right,” Steve says. “I’m okay, honest. Wasn’t meant to be.”
He shoves his lunch in the minifridge and heads out to his desk to check his messages.
———
He gets beers with Hopper after work. As soon as he slides into the booth, Hop raises a knowing eyebrow and snorts. “Folks around town been up your ass about the thing with Laura today?”
Steve groans. “Don’t even know how it got around so fast. We broke it off just yesterday, and I sure as hell didn’t tell anyone.”
Hopper nudges a bowl of peanuts his way. “Ah, you know how Hawkins is. People just want to see you doing well, kid.”
“People just need to mind their own damn business.”
Hopper’s face creases into a wry smile. The lines around his eyes seem to be getting deeper by the week. “They go a little overboard, sure. But come on, it’s nice knowing people care, ain’t it?”
“Sure.” Steve takes a long gulp of beer. “Nice.”
———
“I’m just—tired, Robbie,” he sighs into the phone. “Feels like I can’t walk down the street without running into someone trying to talk to me about the breakup.”
“It’s been coming for a while though, right? I mean, you’ve been talking about how you weren’t sure about her for a while. Like, actually way too long. Like this definitely should’ve happened six months ago.”
“I know, I know. But we were together for over a year, and it was…I dunno, nice. Easy. Felt like the thing to do. People are gonna start back up asking why I’m not married yet, ‘cause everyone else around here seems to be.”
Robin’s laugh crackles down the line, tinny and familiar. He presses the receiver tight against his face like it’ll bring Robin closer.
“Miss the hell out of you, Buckley. Can’t wait until you get back for Christmas.”
“Actually…” Even through the shitty line, he can tell Robin sounds a little nervous. “I was thinking. Well, me and Eddie were thinking. My folks aren’t going to be in Hawkins this year, they’re visiting my aunts in Vermont, and…we’ve got some friends here who are planning to just stay in the city for the holidays. So. What would you think, hypothetically, about coming here instead of me going there? It could be fun! You’ve only visited like twice, and you haven’t visited at all since I moved in with Eddie. You should come see our place, it’s pretty great.”
It’s true, he hasn’t made the trip out for a while. Robin and Eddie had been talking about moving in together for years, and last spring they’d finally found a place they liked. Steve had offered to drive up and help them move in, but their move-in date was Laura’s cousin’s wedding weekend, so that hadn’t worked out. And then it had just been easy to let his summer and fall get away from him, and just see Robin when she came back to Hawkins, because Eddie never comes back to Hawkins at all if he can help it.
Steve’s not avoiding Eddie. Of course he's not. There’s no reason for him to avoid Eddie, because the thing about Eddie is that there’s not a thing. There’s never been a thing.
But the lack-of-thing, the space where a thing could maybe have been, is something that’s followed Steve around for the last six years or so whether he likes it or not.
It’s not like he thinks about it every day, or anything like that. It’s just that—there was a moment, maybe, back in ‘87. He’d been smoking with Eddie outside in the miserable freeze of February. The grimy slush around them had been half-liquid in a way that was going to be trouble in the morning, after it'd had a chance to freeze over.
“If I asked,” Eddie had said, eyes fixed on the distant gray skies. “Would you come with me?”
Steve hadn’t had an answer, then. He’d thought he’d known, by that point, all the different ways he could be afraid, so it took him a second to recognize the feeling clawing its way up his ribcage and quickening his pulse. His tongue had felt thick and useless in his mouth.
Eddie’d just nodded once in a matter-of-fact way, and crushed his cigarette butt beneath the scuffed toe of his boot. “Don’t worry your pretty head about it, Harrington. I won’t ask.”
And then a week later he’d been gone. So it’s not like there was anything at all, not ever.
“Steve?” Robin’s voice is still kind of nervous. “What do you think? We’d both really love to see you.”
“Okay,” says Steve. “Sure. I’ll visit you guys for Christmas. Why the hell not?”

Curious about why I’ve been barely available or present since like May?
Addressing my absence and chronic fatigue beneath the cut:
Soooooooooo super duper honesty time, I haven’t been able to get meaningful rest/sleep for about two months.
tbh this has made accomplishing anything or being present for anything impossible. with the heat wave coming up in my region i am guaranteed even less rest, so my concerns about this intense chronic fatigue have amplified.
Very often i get messages and comments from folks telling me to rest and recover, and I appreciate these messages very much esp since y’all are right! but I gotta be honest with you, I have taken these messages to heart and I have been actively trying to incorporate more down time and rest days into my routine.
It just hasn’t made a difference.
Earlier bedtimes haven’t helped, my sleep hygiene cant get much cleaner, taking several days off in a row hasnt made an impact, naps just aren’t happening, I can’t force myself to sleep in, and I can’t quite introduce new medication until September.
All this to say: I’m hyper aware of my absence but haven’t been able to change it despite weeks of effort.
The fatigue is something I will be discussing with my family doctor in a week when I go in about the new nerve damage, and my neuropsychologist has already begun to help me address the psych end of it, but it’s taken a lot longer than I ever could have anticipated to regain even an afternoon’s worth of energy. Even with all the rest/recovery plans in effect I just simply haven’t had the energy to do anything or speak to anyone.
I don’t know what the purpose is of this post beyond just letting folks know I don’t hate them and that I am exhausted beyond what is normal, but
I am just so… so incredibly exhausted and can’t seem to fix it.
I hope I can come back soon because the isolation alone is getting more and more extreme, but the timeframe for when that is is completely out of my hands, and I guess I wish it wasn’t. :(
So thank you for being patient with me. I promise I am trying to let myself recover, but the problem appears to be bigger than something that can be solved by taking a couple weekends off, so I’m gonna be AWOL a bit longer before my condition improves.
Love and miss y’all, hoping to rejoin the land of the living soon. Take care, drink water, make good choices

(part 1 part 2)
-
It takes Simon well over a week to first make use of John's phone number.
And not even because he's too busy—he’s just nervous. Like a goddamned teenager fawning over a crush and being overly conscious of everything he does; Simon is surprised his thumbs don't fall off the amount of times he types and deletes messages he thinks to send.
Eventually, though, he’s offered no choice when he holds out his phone to his brother to ask if his simple Hey, it’s Simon :) is a good starting message, and Tommy just reaches out and presses send before Simon can stop him.
Simon scowls at Tommy. “Bastard,” he musters through gritted teeth. He looks look back down to his phone and feels his heart stop as the delivered indictor pops up.
“No more than you,” Tommy replies impassively. He already has his back turned, more concerned with anything other than Simon and his issues. He waves a dismissive hand. “I’m getting sick of your whinging.”
“I never—“
Simon’s phone buzzes in his hand, and the rest is history.
Weeks later and Simon finds himself regularly anticipating messages from John, between gigs and practices and everything else. It’s how he starts, continues, and ends his days—and it’s honestly concerning how much Simon misses this almost-stranger after such little time.
Though, he supposes, John is much less a stranger these days with the sheer amount they text—not that Simon would ever like to admit to that number.
Unfortunately not much can come from it, however. Simon gets further away every time they travel and he never knows when they’d be close again, if ever. And once weeks turn to months, Simon is certain he wouldn’t be seeing John again.
Or so he thinks. Because apparently John is full of surprises.
Because of course he is—though maybe Simon should have been a bit more observant of his brother and Beth’s odd behaviours as of late, instead of being so wrapped up in John.
Then, he might’ve seen this coming. Though, that being said, he wouldn’t complain either way.
It’s the day after another show, and Simon is still squirrelled away in his hotel room despite the late morning hour. His muscles still ache satisfyingly from the evening prior, and he expects to spend the rest of his day doing little else other than relaxing and messaging with John.
As is the new typical.
But John, uncharacteristically, hasn’t responded since directly before the band’s performance. Simon frowns when he rolls over to see an empty screen when there’s a knock on his door.
Simon pauses. He knows Tommy has the spare key, and that his brother would waste no time barging in—and neither would Beth, for that matter. He hadn’t called for room service, nor did anyone mention housecleaning, so his existing frown only deepens as he slowly gets up to check.
His hesitance dissipates entirely when he glances through the peephole and sees John on the other side. Simon swings the door open with haste.
Simon’s brows knit together even as John’s grinning.
“How did—why are you here, Johnny?”
The nickname is entirely accidental.
Neither of them seem to particularly hate it.
John’s grin only falters as he scuffs the cheap hotel carpet with his shoe. “Your, ah—your brother, he, um—“
“‘Course he did,” Simon sighs. Without thinking he seizes John’s wrist and pulls him inside the room. He peers out the door and down the hall before shutting them both inside from potential prying eyes and ears.
See: his brother and sister-in-law.
John shifts his weight, pointedly avoiding looking at Simon. “If you don’t want me here…”
“I do,” Simon blurts. “I’m just… surprised, is all.”
John blinks. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Simon breathes.
They stare at each other for eons, like they’re both trying to come to terms with being present together. Again.
Only for the third time. Yet Simon already feels all out of sorts in the best way possible.
“So.” John puffs out his cheeks, turning on his heel to better take in the room. “What’s there to do around here?”
“You’re asking the wrong person.” Simon feels the twitch of a wry smile tug at his lips. John is facing him again, looking every bit as teasing. “Why don’t we find out together?”

Before He Cheats | Chapter 7 | Duff Mckagan x Reader
Tumblr media
Word count: 1395

Warning: Warning: Sex scene… again, sorry and I hate adding that stupid duck park scene–
12:00 AM
It was very late at night. (Y/N) was still lying on the living room couch, watching something on TV. She hasn’t gotten up from the couch except to go to the bathroom and get a water bottle. (Y/N) was struggling to sleep, her argument with Slash still haunting her thoughts and keeping her awake at night. Since she couldn’t sleep, she decided to go through her messages on her phone and text Duff. She texted: Duff, I had a great time with you today. I want to spend more time with you. I miss you having you around and I love you.
Immediately after (Y/N) sent that text, he put her phone on the coffee table.
“He probably won’t respond.” (Y/N) thought to herself. Her phone went off as she continued to watch TV for a couple of minutes. She was wrong, Duff did respond to her text saying, “I love you too, darling <3.” (Y/N) had a smile on her face, tears running down her face. She couldn’t express how happy she was that Duff liked her back. She was struggling and Duff was there for her the entire time, even when they stopped talking for a long time.
10:00 AM
For 2 weeks straight, Claire was wondering why she was throwing up and suddenly acting emotional. She thought it was her period but he hadn’t got her period this month. What else could it be?
Claire was trying to make an egg salad in the kitchen. She kept messing up the salad and making a mess. She ended up throwing the ranch bottle on the floor. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Every little thing is making her more and more mad. Claire opened the door, Slash was at the door.
“Are you okay?” Slash asked, his voice filled with concern. Claire didn’t answer him back and turned her head to the side. “You have been acting weird–”
“I have not been acting weird, you dick!” Claire yelled at him as Slash wiped his mouth off. He could have felt her spit on him from the yelling. “C-Can I come inside, dear?” Slash asked.
“Whatever.” Claire walked back into her house.
Slash sat on the couch, watching a horror movie, while waiting for Claire to come back from whatever she was doing back there. “Come on, Claire.” He muttered to himself, clearly impatient. Finally, Claire emerged from her room
She sat next to Slash with a disappointed look on her face. She kept picking at her clothes, it's clear that she was nervous to say whatever she was going to say. “I’m pregnant,” Claire said nonchalantly. Slash’s eyes widened in shock when Claire announced her pregnancy to him He was in disbelief. “Fuck.” Slash facepalmed meanwhile, Claire was so devastated about this news. “W-We shouldn’t had sex in that c-car…” Claire’s voice filled with regret as she started to cry. Slash immediately held her close to his chest. “It’s okay. We’ll figure something out.” Slash kissed her on the forehead.
2:00 PM, At (Y/N)’s job
(Y/N) was behind the cashier. (Y/N) was getting tired of dealing with a lot of annoying customers, wishing they could just read the signs sometimes.
Izzy steps inside the store with a non-expressive look on his face. He’s wearing a black jacket and jeans. His eyes landed on (Y/N), taking in her awful state of being. (Y/N) looked back at him with a forced smile and said, “Hey, Izzy.” Izzy heard her and walked up to her.
“It’s annoying to deal with Axl sometimes.” Izzy groaned. Izzy looked around to see if anyone was listening to their conversation.
“Anyways, how are you doing?” Izzy asked her as he leaned toward her. (Y/N) stepped back from Izzy, feeling a little awkward.
“I found out that Slash… is cheating on me with Claire.” (Y/N) said, looking away from Izzy, trying to not cry. Izzy let out an angry sigh at the word, Slash.
Izzy put his hand on her shoulder, comforting her. “You deserve better,” Izzy said, rubbing her shoulder.
(Y/N) turned around to face Izzy. Tears were running down her face. “Well… me and Duff finally hang out with each other and… I told him I love him.” (Y/N) sniffled.
“What should I do, Izzy?” (Y/N) asked as she wiped her tears from her face.
“J-Just follow your heart.” Izzy smiled.
It's been an hour later. (Y/N) was still doing her job while thinking about what to do.
As she gave a customer a bag, she looked at a couple who are shopping in the store. The couple looked so happy to be with each other and helping each other out in the store.
(Y/N) couldn’t help but smile at their wholesomeness, thinking that could be Duff and her. Now she knows what she’s going to do. She’s leaving Slash and dating Duff. Why would she stay with a guy who cheats on her and lies to her constantly?
The next day, at the duck park
Slash is feeding the ducks bread when Claire keeps telling him not to. But Claire decided to leave it alone by crossing her arms in anger. “I’m gonna get a snack from the car, Slash,” Claire said as she started to walk back to the car. “Okay,” Slash responded.
Claire leaned against Slash’s car. She took off her shoe to get the pebble out of her shoe by shaking it.
She glanced up to find Axl gazing at her with a seductive look. Now she’s even angrier.
“Hey, darling.” Axl winked at her, smiling. There was so much anger inside Claire but her being
“Stop trying to flirt with me,” Claire said as she put her shoe back on and put her hands back on her stomach. Claire looked at Axl and rolled her eyes at him, saying, “Slash satisfies me in bed already. I don’t need–” Claire stopped talking when she realized that she fucked up. She was pretty done for. “H-Hey! You didn’t hear anything!” Claire yelled at him. “I’m not deaf, darling. I heard everything.” Axl said to her in a teasing tone.
“See you later.” Axl walked away from Claire. “All of this anger is not good for the… child,” Claire muttered. Unfortunately for her, Axl did hear what she said.
2:00 PM, At Duff’s house
Duff was sitting on the living room couch, his legs spread apart.
(Y/N) was kneeling between Duff’s legs, sucking his cock, her tongue swirling around the head taking him deeper and deeper into her mouth. She looks up at him occasionally, her face with desire and anticipation.
Duff
(Y/N) pull her mouth off his cock and she chuckled. She started to stroke Duff’s cock. “I miss… this. You know?” She said as she stroked his cock a little.
Suddenly, she stops stroking Duff’s cock and goes down the floor. She slowly spread her legs while looking at him with a smile. She had a twinkle in her eyes and excitement in her breathing.
“Put it in.” She told him in a soft seductive tone.
Duff positioned myself between (Y/N) legs as she wrapped her legs around him. His cock was throbbing with need, begging to take her.
He hesitated, staring at her a bit before slowly pushing inside her. “This feels so nice…” She moaned. With a grunt, Duff began thrusting into her slow and deep.
“I-It does…” Duff said as he hold her legs in place. “You’re so tight.” Duff groaned.
(Y/N) kept moaning with every thrust, bringing closer and closer her to the edge.
The room were filled with Duff’s grunts and (Y/N)’s moans. Duff’s thrusts were getting faster and rougher, indicating he was close to climax
He was leaning to closer to her and (Y/N) wrapped her arms around Duff, pulling him closer.
“I-I’m cumming.” With one last thrust, Duff cums inside her. (Y/N)’s eyes widened as she felt Duff’s thick cum filling her up. It was hot and sticky, seeping deep inside of her. After he finished, Duff layed on top of her, heavily breathing. “I-I love you…” Duff whispered in her ear. “Y-You… too.” (Y/N) panted, her words coming out between breaths.

Restoration (Chapter 8)
A bunch of scenes because why not? On another note, it is extremely hard to write a scene in winter when it’s the middle of April. I hope you enjoy anyhow! Because now I’m really getting into the plot.
Word Count: 5.9k
CW: Death, crying, vague thoughts of suicide, severe trauma, (anything else idk??)
8-Ryker
It was Thanksgiving break. The first official break from school until Christmas. Words could not describe how grateful I was for the week-long break. There was no reason to have so much work piled up a couple weeks before the end of first semester.
I was laying in my bed on my phone. It was about to turn six, which meant I should probably get started on dinner, but I just couldn’t bring myself to climb out of bed. I was physically and mentally tired of keeping up with everyone and whatever plans they had with their friends, taking care of Isabelle and Angela since they were still little, and on top of that keep up with the chores around the house.
I grabbed my phone off the charger, stretched out my arms and legs from laying down, and opened my door to get started on dinner. The living room was oddly quiet, with Dylan and Lucky playing a game. Isabelle playing a game with Angela on the carpet that consisted of a bunch of stuffed animals and blankets. I smiled to myself.
“What do you guys feel like eating for dinner?” I leaned against the kitchen island, waiting for an answer.
“Spaghetti!” Isabelle and Angela answered at the time, giggling at one another. I think I could do that. I don’t know if Lucky can though. It was the first weekend of the break and I’d probably need to go grocery shopping tomorrow anyways.
I looked in Dylan’s direction, making them pause whatever they were playing together. He just shrugged his shoulders, “Whatever’s easier for you.” Always with the same response.
“Ummm, I can go check what we have.” Lucky told me, getting Dylan to let him onto the floor. All I could do was wait now. Jasmine was staying over at her friends today and tomorrow. I just told her to text me if she goes anywhere far and if she needed anything. Weird, right? Usually the parent handles these kinds of things, but in the situation my siblings and I are in it’s literally impossible.
Lucky came back, shaking his head, “We don’t have the things for spaghetti,” He laid down on the arm rest of the couch and grabbed his remote, “You should call Nathan to come over. He hasn’t been here in a while. Plus, he’s so much better at cooking than I am. Right, Angela?”
“Yeah!”
I bit the side of my cheek. I don’t know about that. Just asking Nathan to come over to cook and then ask him to leave? That was wrong. Plus, he told me before the break that he’ll be pretty busy. Or… texted me. Either way, I shouldn’t bother him. Maybe he actually has a meal with his family for Thanksgiving and they were all getting ready for it already. On the other hand, Lucky makes something else for him and Angela, Angela doesn’t eat, and then everything goes downhill from there.
Looking at my phone, I picked it up, opening the messages app, and clicked on Nathan’s name. The last time he came here, Jasmine did kind of freak him out. I remember him not being able to leave anyone’s side if she was in the room. I wonder if he’d even want to come over after that. At school the next day he was a little nervous, but otherwise fine afterward, but I’m sure whatever Jasmine told him is still stuck in his mind. Ugh. This was such a bad idea.
Ryker: I have a huge favor to ask you
I waited for a response, watching Dylan and Lucky play a fighting game against one another. I had no idea who was winning, but I’m pretty sure it was Lucky. Actually… it was kind of weird how Lucky seemed to want Nathan around more often. Like, really weird. Especially when every time Nathan came, he would practically ditch him with me. I honestly don’t mind, I liked having Nathan come over, but still. I had wondered why, but I wasn’t going to ask.
Nathan: Yeah?
Ryker: Do you mind coming over to help Lucky cook something?
Ryker: You don’t have to
Well, if he says no Lucky will have to make whatever he can and I’d have to break the news to Angela. If you didn’t know, four year olds can be a little hard to deal with sometimes. So, this might just turn out to be a very, very bad day.
Nathan: Sure!
Nathan: Anything specific?
I stared at his text, relief washing over me. Dylan let out a cheer from winning against Lucky. Wow. Perfect timing. I was just so grateful right now. Nathan was literally the greatest friend ever. Now I have to think of someway to thank him. That shouldn’t be too hard, right?
Ryker: They wanted spaghetti
Ryker: And thank you
Nathan: No problem :)
Ryker: I guess I’ll be at the bus stop in about twenty minutes?
Nathan: Okay
I stuffed my phone in my pocket, “Okay, I’ll be right back, just text me if something happens.” I told Dylan, who nodded his head. And with that, I walked out the door and into the cold air.
———Nathan———
Winters in the city were bad. But not as bad as when we were still help captive. Now those days were terrible. Horrifying even. It was still freakishly cold here. Not something I enjoy. For several reasons really. One being that I already get cold really easily. Two, I just hated being cold and sick. And the most important reason being that it was during this kind of weather when my dad had died. Actually, in three days it’s officially been nine years since my dad died. November 24. A long time, right?
It hurts. The memories. Not just of him but how they brutally murdered him in front of his own child. I shuddered at the sight pictured in my mind. Nope. Can’t think about that. Right now I should probably be getting ready to head over to the bus stop. I already had packed a tiny bag with the things I needed to cook. Weird enough, it was kind of a therapy for me at this point. To be cooking I mean. I guess that’s why my mom always gets worried when I’m baking for no reason. Because she knows.
I sighed, giving my mom a quick text that I was heading over to Ryker’s for a little while. The last time I went, I thought everything was going great before Jasmine talked to me alone. everyone had left to go looking for something and it was just her and I. I was scared of course. We’ve never, ever talked before and from what I’ve gathered she’s really intimidating.
Her exact words to me were: “If you hurt my brother in any way I will personally murder you.” and that was was it took for me to have an entire mental breakdown for nearly two weeks. I mean, who wouldn’t be scared if someone’s sibling threatened you like that? So, the week before the break, I might have been acting a little weird around Ryker, afraid that I might actually do something wrong or hurt him in any way, which I don’t really see how I could.
Otherwise, I haven’t really been doing anything. I told Ryker that I would be busy during the break, but really I wasn’t. Only because I do actually have something to do on November 24, and I was already feeling the depression spikes as the day came closer and closer. As for Thanksgiving itself, my mom and I never do anything. Last year we were barely getting used to being in the mental hospital so we didn’t really do anything. This year she’s working so it’ll just be me. Nothing new.
I made my way down the icy streets, the sun setting faster and faster. It was only getting colder, and I didn’t really have a winter jacket. Just some to wear in the classroom like when it’s freezing in there. So, yeah, I was basically freezing my face off. Not to mention that my mom told me it might snow later tonight since it was already under twenty degrees outside. I wasn’t used to cold weather.
Once I made it to the bus stop, I snuggled up with my bag on the bench, trying to have some kind of warmth. Also because there were several people (giants) who were going back home from stores or getting off of work. The bus stop was actually used for both humans and giants. The human was a little ways from the huge one that was practically as tall as a skyscraper. Maybe taller.
My hands were shaky from the cold, but it was only another five minutes before Ryker would come and hopefully I wouldn’t be as cold. Maybe. Hopefully. I don’t know what today has in store for me. All I knew was that I just wanted to wrap myself in a blanket with some hot chocolate and binge watch something on tv.
Ryker came a few minutes later, smiling and giving a thanks before offering a hand. I threw the bag on first before struggling to get on. It was hard when the ground underneath you was starting to freeze over, but I figured it out after trying for a good minute.
“You’re freezing.” Ryker told me, cupping his hand just a little. Sure, it was scary to have his fingers closer to me, but still, it was warm. How could I deny something that was practically calling me?
“That good?” He smiled, for some reason making sure I was comfortable. But I was not about to complain. I was desperate at this point. I nodded my head, bringing my knees closer to my chest to keep some of my body warmth with me. And yet another reason I hate winter.
“Thanks again. Sorry for bothering you.”
I continuously shook my head, hoping he would get the message that it was fine. Plus, I liked going over. Everyone was nice (Besides Jasmine I’m pretty sure she hates me) and never really tried to do anything too crazy with me. It was great. I’m not as afraid anymore, which was a miracle given I thought I could never trust anyone ever again, and I’ve actually made some friends.
Ryker opened the door to his house, where we found them all watching a movie together. Everyone turned their heads as soon as the door closed behind Ryker. I jumped slightly, but relaxed after a while. Nothing to be afraid of. Dylan’s eyes landed on me, giving a smile and a two fingered wave. I waved back, but I doubt he could see it.
I was set down on the ground, not entirely expecting to be in a tight hug the second I balanced myself. Lucky bursted out laughing, letting me go, “You are literally the best, Nathan.” I laughed with him, following Lucky into the room.
——————
I didn’t eat anything. I wasn’t hungry. Of course Ryker tried to convince me to eat something, but I always answered no. Otherwise, dinner was okay. They had Lucky, Angela and I on the coffee table, which wasn’t really too big of a deal. I’m pretty sure Ryker and Dylan just didn’t want to handle any humans while they were eating, and hey, I was not about to say anything about it. There are just some things that will never leave my mind.
After everyone ate, Dylan and Lucky started playing a game on the tv while Isabelle and Angela were playing hide and seek I’m pretty sure. I just hoped that no one would get hurt, but Ryker quickly reassured me that they would never harm one another. I just had to believe him. Most of his siblings are stuck together like glue. Which is a good thing.
“It’s supposed to start snowing in a little bit.” Ryker announced, earning cheers from the other room where I was guessing Angela and Isabelle were. I was sitting on the arm rest of the couch by Ryker. I kind of wished that their house was a little warmer, because I was still annoyingly cold, but beggars can’t be choosers. I should have asked to grab a blanket.
“Nice. Are we gonna go out?” Dylan asked, eyes glued to the screen. I had no idea who was winning, but I think it was him.
“If you want to.”
Ryker threw his phone on the other side of the couch, turning his head to the screen. I don’t want to go outside, but I’ll go if that makes things easier. I just don’t want to be in the snow. Reasons. Remember?
It was about ten minutes later that it did actually start snowing. Angela and Isabelle were begging Ryker to let them outside, which he just laughed to and told them to get jackets on and to bring their hats. Dylan paused their game to go get on a jacket, and Ryker left to go help Isabelle. So I was alone in the living room while everyone was busy to go have some fun. I hated winter. In just three days. I reminded myself.
What would happen? Would someone else be claimed victim? Something bad always happens during this time. I don’t know if it was just me. It probably was. Everyone else was smiling while I was crying in the corner. It’s how it was in the hospital. They all went outside if they could, and I stayed in my room, under the blankets and shove my face into my pillow to drown out my tears. I couldn’t do that now though. Not when so many people had their eyes on me. Not when a trip back to the hospital was a very viable option for me. I didn’t want to go back. Not because of something… traumatic that happened nine years ago. I should be over it, right? But I’m not.
There goes one of my depression spells. Great. Just great. At a time like this? I sucked in a deep breath, calming myself down before anyone notices. This was embarrassing.
Ryker came back into the room, eyes landing on me with an unsure look on his face. He walked up to me, holding a hand out. Was he not going to wear any gloves? He wouldn’t be cold? I stood up, keeping my balance on the soft surface underneath me and walking to climb onto his hand.
“You don’t mind if I just keep you in my hand, right? I don’t want you to be freezing.” He asked. I shook my head, sitting down in the middle of his palm. That was actually what I preferred. I did not plan whatsoever to go into the snow anyways.
Once everyone was outside, Ryker sat down on the stairs, cupping his hand and keeping me close. A little uneasy about it, but there was really no reason to be. It’s just instinct. And everything in me right now is saying to get the hell inside. But I wasn’t going to say that. Mostly because I don’t want to be alone.
They were all screaming and laughing. It was snowing pretty hard too, already covering most of the frosted grass just after ten minutes. Other people were also sitting outside. Their kids playing around with the snow. I tried not to focus on that. Instead, I found myself scooting back slowly, almost to where I couldn’t see the heavy fall of the white flakes.
My body was still freezing. It was so much colder than before. Was this how dad felt? The cold pricking at his skin I mean.
“Nathan?” My thoughts were interrupted by a soft voice above me. I groaned, body shaking and stuffing my hands in my pockets to preserve some of my body heat. I shuddered a breath, trembling. It’s so cold… How could they even be having fun like this? I looked ahead, seeing Dylan helping Isabelle make a small snowman with both Angela and Lucky stuffed in his scarf. This was just another one of my depression spells.
“Still cold?” Ryker asked me. I took a deep breath, “Y-Yeah…” It came out more like a quiet mumble, and I was surprised that he even heard me. Did he want to help them make a snowman? He probably did. I should just tell him to leave me inside. It would make things a million times easier for everyone.
Ryker moved his hand a bit, making me worried about what he was trying to do, but he just kept it the same. I wondered why he was going through all this trouble just for me. There was really no point. There was only a couple more months until graduation and then we’d go our separate ways. That’s how it always goes. I’d be alone again, figuring out what to do with the rest of my life. That’s how my story goes.
“Better?”
I nodded my head, getting to a comfortable position and decided to just watch what they were all doing. Finishing up the head of the snowman. It was comfy even though I was kind of scared from being in someone’s hand. At least now that is. Currently I was just afraid of falling into the deep snow. I’m pretty sure if I fell I’d sink into it. Not something I would like to see or imagine.
“You okay?” Ryker asked, softly smiling above me. There was no other response other than to nod. I couldn’t just say no. That wouldn’t do any good. But.. maybe if he notices that these next few days would be hard for me. Maybe. Just maybe. I doubt it though. I don’t plan on being here all of the time anyways. I couldn’t.
Isabelle finished the snowman, grabbing some loose twigs for arms as they stepped back. It was still snowing, just not as much. Was dad watching me right now? Was he shocked just as much as I was? I never thought I’d ever be able to be around another giant for as long as I had lived, and here I am, sitting in one of their hands. Would he think I was crazy? Delusional? Psycho? Happy like my mom even? I would never know, but even I think I was crazy.
Actually… why did I even trust Ryker? Or really anyone. They’re all so nice of course, but about four months ago I was so sure that every giant would only hurt me, and it almost became true with that lunch incident that felt like forever ago. So why did I trust these people with my life? In the back of my mind I keep thinking that this was all just a sick joke being played on me. But… I don’t think these people are lying about anything. They don’t have a reason to. And Ryker’s been nothing but patient, and kind, and… understanding. No one would go through all that trouble just to fool someone as gullible as me.
I sighed, snuggling up closer to Ryker’s thumb and watching Isabelle throw snowballs at Dylan who was shielding Lucky and Angela from the crossfire. Was it scary being there? In the midst of everything? Having to trust someone at least fifty times your size to keep you safe? I sucked in a shaky breath, just watching. It wasn’t so bad really.
———Ryker———
Today was November 24. Thanksgiving was here, and everything was a complete mess. I never learned how to make a turkey like the tradition, so usually I just made something that all of us had liked. Along with that, I had to make sure no one did anything too crazy while I was busy in the kitchen. Jasmine and Dylan were helping out cooking while I ordered something for Lucky and Angela. They both agreed on pizza (Because what else does a fourteen year-old and a four year-old want) so now I was busy with that. That part was mostly because Angela didn’t like when Lucky cooks something different.
It was just pure chaos now. Everyone was running around the house, and at that point I had to ask Jasmine to keep an eye on Angela to make sure she didn’t wander off where we couldn’t find her. I wasn’t too worried about Lucky since he’s almost always with Dylan, plus he’s smart enough to stay off the floor when it’s something like this.
I took out the lasagna, letting it cool down before making separate plates. Yeah, I know, super weird, but I can’t do anything better. I only know the basics thanks to my parents, and that was all I needed to know.
There was a knock on the door, and I asked Dylan to open it. It was just the pizza. I washed whatever dishes I had and called everyone that dinner was ready. It’s days like this where I wished that my parents never left. I feel like I can never be like them even though I was the oldest. I mean, was I just supposed to let CPS split us all apart? I couldn’t do that. My siblings would never forgive me. I like to think that they’re all happy, but I doubt it. Sometimes I feel like I can’t do anything to help any of them. Like I’m doing this “parenting” thing all wrong. Of course I was. I was seventeen in my last year of high school taking care of five kids on my own while also juggling a job and trying to do fun things with them so we can forget about what happened a little over a year ago. There was no reason for one person to be doing all of this.
It was snowing outside again. Not really surprising when you’ve lived here for your entire life. It was really nice though. I loved the cold. Weird, because most people don’t, but I do. I remember my parents freaking out when I would just be outside making a snowman in just a short sleeve and sweatpants when I was a kid. Of course it was so cold it burned, but I guess I kind of liked it? It was hard to explain. Or sometimes we’d stay inside and watch movies or play a game. I missed it really.
“Ry.” Jasmine snapped her fingers in front of me to get my attention. I blinked a couple times before giving a clueless look. She groaned, “I asked if I could go shopping tomorrow, I have work the next three days so I just wanna go do something.”
“Oh, um, sure.”
The tv was playing in the background, but I wasn’t paying attention. Come to think of it, I don’t think I was paying attention to anything. Dylan, Jasmine, and Lucky were all laughing about something. What were they laughing about again? Something about going back to school? I don’t even want to think about that right now. I needed a break anyways. Most of my classes love giving me piles and piles of work anyways.
I sighed, pushing away my plate that I had barely eaten. The sun has already set, everyone was done eating, Angela asked Jasmine if she could go outside in the snow. She said yes, and so Isabelle followed. Dylan and Lucky were helping me wash the remaining dishes. Honestly I already felt so tired. It was only 8 p.m but my eyes threatened to close at any moment.
“You okay, Ry?” Dylan asked, putting a plate up in the cabinet.
“Yeah.” I replied, handing him another to dry. Lucky shook his head while continuously saying “no” over and over again. At some point Dylan grew tired of it and pressed the pad of his thumb into Lucky’s entire upper half of his body.
“He’s not wrong. You’re always like this on holidays.”
“I am?” I sighed, not really knowing how to get out of this one. These two have always been vigilant anyways. They would have noticed at some point.
“Yeah.”
“I don’t know. I just feel really tired today.”
“That’s it?”
“Mhm.”
Dylan gave me a skeptical look before putting in another plate. He doesn’t believe me. I don’t think he ever will about these kinds of things.
“Why don’t you call Nathan? You always seem happier around him.”
I stopped only for a second, then continued to scrub off something on the pan I used. No. I won’t call him. Not this time. No matter how many times he’s actually made me feel better just by being here. I’ve noticed I was happier around him too, but it’s only short lived since he always goes back at the end of the day. Do I know why I was happier? Not really. I’ve thought of a few reasons. Because he’s the only friend I’ve made since middle school. He listens to me ramble on and on about the most useless information. Best of all he’s really nice. Doesn’t really seem like he’s tricking me either. Not that I think he could even if he wanted to. He was too sweet.
“No.” I sighed. Cleaning out the sink and handing off the last dish.
“Why not?” Dylan asked leaning against the counter.
“Cause I’m tired. No point in calling if I’m just going to fall asleep,” I countered, drying my hands and heading to my room, “Make sure Isabelle and Angela are asleep by 10? Please?”
Dylan nodded his head, I closed the door behind me and buried myself under the covers of my bed. I can’t keep on relying on Nathan to come fix every problem I have. He’s probably off dealing with whatever he’s doing right now anyways. But still, my hand reached for my phone, grabbing it and opening the messages app. I’m just gambling with myself at this point. If he answers in the next ten minutes I’ll ask to call, if he doesn’t, I’ll head to sleep. Either way it’s really a win-win. And here it goes.
———Nathan———
I was laying on my bed, under the covers. No lights, no sounds, just nothing. I had cried earlier this morning when I visited his grave. My eyes were dry now. Red and puffy. I just sat curling in on myself while clutching the same teddy bear he gave me when I was still just a kid. It was childish, but if it’s all I have left of him then I’m taking advantage of that.
Ironic, huh? How this holiday was supposed to bring family together. It was actually the opposite for me. Even though he didn’t actually die on this holiday, it’s just ironic how it happened this year. When we’re finally free and live like a “normal” family now. Was he watching me now? Sad and lonely in my bed? I hope he wasn’t. He’d scold me.
My phone went off, but I didn’t feel like looking at it. It’s not like I wanted to be alone. Usually my mom would cheer me up by taking my mind off of it. Whether it was playing some makeshift game or just doing something I liked with me. What else was there to say? This year was the year I was completely alone.
I sucked in a deep breath, picking up my phone with sore arms. I spent most of the day digging out the old flowers on his grave and replacing them with new ones. It was hard to do when a thin sheet of snow was covering most of the dirt and grass, but it was worth it to see the bright a beautiful colors. His favorites were lilacs. I remember mom telling me that.
My eyes shot up when I saw who texted me. Ryker? I mean it was already night, so I doubt he was going to ask if I wanted to go over. But… I was kind of curious now.
Ryker: Hey
Ryker: How was your day?
Ryker: You’re probably doing something right now but I’d just thought I’d check what you were doing
Sent five minutes ago. Why did he want to know what I was doing? It seemed weird to me, but maybe he was just bored. Did they celebrate? I hope they did. They seem to be happy with each other.
Nathan: It was okay :)
Nathan: And yours?
Ryker: Chaotic
Nathan: Oh
I wasn’t technically lying. My day was okay despite crying for most of it.
Ryker: Yeahhh
Ryker: Do you feel like calling?
Ryker: You don’t have to of course
I thought about it. It wouldn’t be that bad. Might keep my mind occupied.
  Nathan: Sure
And so he called.
“Hello?” His voice sounded tired and sad, like he just woke up or something. I couldn’t find my voice. It’s become rasp from sobbing anyways. It’d be embarrassing for it to sound like that over the phone. So hopefully it’ll get better in the morning.
“Oh, right,” He sighed, “Sorry. I just felt like talking and usually you listen. You can just hang up if you don’t want to though.” He sounded nervous, but I didn’t want to hang up. Not only because it was the wrong thing to do, but because I always loved listening to what he was saying. No matter how irrelevant it was. It distracted my mind from everything wrong with me. And he seemed to like it when I did.
Nathan: I’m listening
I heard him let out a little chuckle before talking. I could hear at some points it sounded like he was going to cry, and some he sounded like he was so hurt, and sometimes he’d laugh. He changed the subject multiple times, but I kind of liked it. I just wished I could help in some other way. It sounded to me like he was stressed out and just wanted someone to be there, and I’m surprised none of his siblings were. Or maybe they were, but he just doesn’t want to put all of this on them. It seemed like something he would do.
By the time he was done, it was an hour before midnight. Funny thing was, I wasn’t tired anymore. I was putting together pieces in my mind still about everything he had talked about. How he was mentally tired of juggling five things around at once. I would be too if I were him. How he’s been more and more exhausted by the end of the day. How his parents usually did all of these kinds of things. I was going to ask what happened to them, but I feel like that was a touchy subject. Especially when he just vented to me. I don’t mind though. Not at all.
“Oh crap. Sorry for keeping you up.” Ryker apologized, saying sorry about five times before I texted him that it was okay. I wasn’t going to sleep anytime soon.
“Thanks. Y’know. For listening.” I heard him yawn on the other side. He was the one tired. I silently laughed to myself, hugging the bear closer to my chest. If only he could see me now… this was embarrassing. He’d probably make fun of me for it. I wouldn’t care.
“You’re too nice, you know that?” I heard shuffling on the other side of the phone. Probably Ryker getting ready to go to sleep. And I know this was selfish, but I didn’t want him to hang up. I didn’t want my mind to realize that I was alone again. Was is it really selfish then? To me, yes. It feels like I was making him do something he didn’t want to.
“Hey, um, remember when you tried hugging me that one time? Why’d you do it?” He had asked, and I could practically see his face. Confused and happy at the same time. He was talking about when I had to stay overnight. I knew that would come up eventually, just not so soon.
Nathan: Nobody’s ever been so nice to me before. Besides my mom of course
Nathan: But I was kind of shocked you agreed without complaining
Nathan: Are you mad about it?
“Mad? Nononono. Um, the complete opposite really,” He laughed quietly, “I was shocked, yeah, but happy too.”
That gets rid of the guilt. I swear I thought I ruined everything between us, but now I know what he really thought. He wasn’t mad at me for anything.
“What about the other day? When it was snowing. You looked comfortable. Like you were about to sleep.” My cheeks started blushing from embarrassment. I had hoped he didn’t see me snuggling closer into his palm to stay warm, but apparently he did. So embarrassing. I groaned quietly to myself, tightly hugging the bear closer.
Nathan: Sorry
Nathan: I was cold
Nathan: You were warm
Nathan: Sorry again
It was silent for a second.
“Why do you apologize for things like that?”
I didn’t know the answer to that question. Usually my mind just takes over and then I spiral into the worst possible scenarios. So I have no idea why I do. Maybe because my brain thinks I’ll get hurt if I don’t? My body was scared of getting another broken bone or something getting hurt?
Nathan: I don’t know
It was silent again.
“Do… do you like being around me? I-I mean most people stop talking to me as soon as they get what they want. So, I was just wondering.” His voice sounded hurt. Obviously this ha sharpened once or twice to him. And it hurt to hear that these things have happened to someone so amazing. I could never do that to Ryker. It’d hurt me more than it’d hurt him.
“Y-yes.” I almost immediately replied, my voice a little raspy. It hurt to speak, but it was fine. It’ll get better in time.
I heard him let out a sigh of relief, and I smiled. I was finally doing the right thing for once in my life. I’m kind of glad this was how the day ended.
“I would give you a hug if you were here… and if you were comfortable enough with it,” We both laughed quietly, “I’ll let you go to sleep. I’ve kept you up long enough.”
I shook my head, forgetting that he wasn’t here to see it. I didn’t want him to go. Then again he sounded exhausted. Then I would be the one keeping him up. Or he doesn’t even have to stay awake. Just the knowledge that I knew he was just on the other side of the phone was enough to make me feel like I wasn’t alone.
“U-Um you d-don’t have to s-stay up b-but could we stay… stay on call? P-Please.” I waited for an answer, biting my tongue for stuttering so much. My body was shaky for no reason. I was nervous. He was going to say no. He was going to say no. He was going to-
“I would love that.”
I wish he could see the smile I had on my face. How fast my heart was beating. I laid down under the covers, getting comfortable and staring at my phone that read: Ryker: 3:14. Three hours and fourteen minutes. Another seven won’t hurt.
“Thank you.”
I fell asleep a couple minutes after he did. No nightmares haunted me tonight.

My heart is meltinggggggg
By the way, this was not the great scene I was talking about. This was just one of many to make the one I actually want to write make sense.
Anywayssss I told you guys it would be a little plot heavy for a while! I loved how this chapter came out though.
Hope you enjoyed, and thank you for reading! Love you guys!

Fight The Feeling Prologue - Part 12 Breakup Aftermath
Summary- How Jack dealt with your breakup after he cheated on you.
Tumblr media
It had been a couple weeks since your breakup with Jack, and even though he’s the one who caused the breakup, he hadn’t been handling it well. With the privacy of your relationship, also came with the keeping your breakup from everyone. Truthfully, you hadn’t been handling it the best either, but Jack also had the guilt of being the reason you broke up. If he hadn’t cheated, you two would still be in a happy relationship.
You still had a couple weeks off, since you were still supposed to be with Jack in L.A, to help you process everything that had happened, between the cheating and the breakup. One of the first things you did when you landed back in Kentucky, was buy several different kinds of ice cream and snacks, and then you didn’t leave your apartment until Madison forced you too, claiming it would be good for you, and ultimately it was, but you weren’t happy about it.
Jack had been snapping at people constantly in the last few weeks, everyone could tell something was wrong, but no one wanted to be the one to ask. Even Urban, who knew why Jack was upset, didn’t want to point it out. Everyone had been walking on eggshells around Jack.
As soon as Jack got done with his interviews and performance on the Today Show, he walked directly to his green room, Urban and Neelam following after him. Jack didn’t acknowledge either of them until he sat down on the couch.
“Can I just have a minute?” Jack asked, his voice cracking as he spoke. Neelam sighed softly, glancing at Urban before she nodded and walked out. Urban stayed and sat down.
“Are you ever going to talk about it?” Urban asked Jack who shook his head.
“No. I’m fine.” Jack said.
“Have you tried to talk to Y/N?” Urban asked.
“I’ve tried. I’ve called and texted her, but she hasn’t answered any of my messages.” Jack said, leaning back on the couch and staring at the celling.
“Just give her some time, it’s not easy for either of you.” Urban said. “Did you break it off with Alexa like you said you were going to?” Urban asked and Jack hesitated. “Really? You haven’t broken it off with her?”
“I mean, I’m single now. If I want to go out and sleep with a bunch of girls, I can. Fuck, if I want to have multiple girlfriends at the same time I can.” Jack said.
“Not if you want to get Y/N back you can’t.” Urban told Jack and Jack sighed.
“I asked for a couple minutes alone.” Jack repeated from earlier.
“Look, I’m just being honest and trying to help you.” Urban told Jack.
“It’s easy for you to say what I should be doing because you’re not the one in this situation and to be honest, I’m fucking tired of hearing your opinion all the time.” Jack snapped at Urban. Jack didn’t mean it, he knew Urban was trying to help him, but Jack didn’t want help. He wanted to figure out this situation on his own. Jack didn’t want to go out and have sex with multiple girls, and he had already broken it off with Alexa right after he was done filming, he just didn’t want anyone to know how much your breakup impacted him, so he was deflecting his emotions.
“Fine. If you don’t want my help, don’t take it, but don’t come to me when she doesn’t take you back.” Urban said before storming out of the room. Urban knew that Jack didn’t mean it, but that didn’t mean that it hurt any less.
Once Jack was alone, he realized he didn’t actually want to be alone. Jack had kept himself busy since your breakup, between filming, tour, and promotional stuff. He was using it as a distraction so that he didn’t have to think about the breakup or you.
Jack tilted his head back, covering his face with his hands as he started to cry. Jack missed you. As stupid as it may have sounded, being in New York without you was hard for him. New York was where you met, where you said you loved each other for the first time, and you had both snuck around the city to see each other countless times.
“Fuck.” Jack muttered underneath his breath, his hands rubbing his eyes. Jack took about 20 minutes to collect himself before he heard a knock on the door.
“Come in.” Jack said, wiping underneath his eyes one more time.
“They said you can leave whenever you’re ready, they don’t need you for anything else.” Neelam told Jack and he nodded.
“Let’s go then, I’m ready to go to the airport.” Jack said, standing up and grabbing his stuff.
“Jack, sit down.” Neelam said, sighing softly.
“I don’t need you to fucking scold me too, let’s just go.” Jack said, starting to walk to the door.
“I’m not going to scold you.” Neelam told Jack before he sighed and sat back down.
“What’s wrong? I can tell you’ve been crying, and you’ve been acting differently recently.” Neelam asked.
“Nothing. I’m fine.” Jack said and Neelam gave him a look.
“If you don’t tell me, I’m going to ask Urban because I know he knows.” Neelam said.
“Fine. I have had a girlfriend for the past year and a half, and we broke up. That’s why I’ve been off.” Jack explained.
“Wait, so that’s why you had a sudden interest in trips to the Bahamas.” Neelam said smiling to herself and Jack rolled his eyes again.
“Yes, it was, but we broke up, and no, I don’t want to talk about it.” Jack said and Neelam nodded.
“Well, if you change your mind, I’m willing to listen.” Neelam reassured Jack.
“Yeah, I can promise you I won’t change my mind.” Jack said before they finally walked out of the room.
Jack just got off stage at his first tour stop, and it was the best he felt since your breakup. Unfortunately, that feeling went away as soon as he got to his dressing room, and you weren’t there like you were supposed to be. Before you and Jack broke up, you talked about making your relationship public, or at least not hiding as much, so that you could go on tour with Jack, or visit him are tour stops. Of course, Jack knew you weren’t going to be backstage anymore, but he couldn’t help but wish you were.
Jack sat on the couch in his dressing room, staring at his phone for a few minutes. He sighed before picking it up and finding your contact. He hadn’t let himself change your contact’s name from “My girl” yet. His finger hovered over your number, he knew you weren’t going to answer, but he had to try. Jack pressed the call button before putting the phone on speaker.
Jack listened to the phone ring, and ring, and ring until it went to voicemail. Jack sighed, waiting a few minutes before trying one more time. This time the call went straight to voicemail. Jack grabbed the phone, trying to send you a text but it didn’t go through, you had blocked Jack’s number.  Jack had been calling you periodically ever since you left to fly home, but you had never answered, and at this point, you were over Jack’s calls. You didn’t want his apology.
Upon his realization that he was blocked, Jack tossed his phone away from him, not caring if it broke in the process. Urban walked into the room shortly after, Jack didn’t greet Urban like he normally did.
“Everything good?” Urban asked, closing the door behind him.
“She blocked me.” Jack said.
“Y/N?” Urban asked and Jack nodded.
“Yeah. I try to call or text her sometimes, but she never answers and it just rings until it goes to voice mail, I tried to call her twice and the second time it just went straight to voicemail, so I tried to text her, and it didn’t go through, so she blocked me.” Jack said.
“You just need to give her time.” Urban told him.
“I just want to apologize. I know I was stupid for not seeing what Alexa was trying to do. She was trying to break us up, and it worked. I just didn’t think I would want Y/N’s forgiveness, so I continued to hurt her more, but I also didn’t realize how much I don’t feel like myself without her. I don’t expect her to ever forgive me, but I just need her to know that my feelings for her were never fake. I never want her to question if I loved her, just because I was stupid and cheated on her.” Jack explained.
“She knows you loved her; I promise.” Urban reassured Jack. “You will be able to apologize, like I said, you just have to give her time. If she’s not ready to listen to your apology, then she’s not going to believe you.”
“I know, it just feels so weird without her around, I know I did it to myself, but she was one of the only people I could feel like myself around, and it hurts knowing that she’s gone and I’m probably never going to get her back again.” Jack sighed, rubbing his hands over his face.
“If it’s meant to be, you two will find you’re way back to each other.” Urban said and Jack nodded slightly. “Ready to go back to the bus?” Urban asked and Jack nodded again.
“Yeah, I guess so.” Jack sighed, standing up and picking his phone off the ground before grabbing the rest of his things. Him and the rest of his team making their way to the bus.
Jack didn’t feel like himself without you and little did he know, he wouldn’t truly feel like himself again, until January, when you kissed him for the first time since before you broke up.
