i love michelle jones bc of u thank you for ur older fics.. shes so important to me
It means the world to me to get this ask while I’m on a trip dedicated to Michelle Jones, best character in the MCU.
There’s a reason that she remains my profile pic years on, because she truly is one of my favorite characters ever and has genuinely changed my life. I’ve been a Spider-Man fan since childhood, but had never really connected with Mary Jane, especially not when Gwen Stacy was an option (thank TASM and the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon.) I was in high school when Homecoming came out and it was a revelation seeing a character like her who was allowed to be such a weird girl and not wear make up and have her hair frizzy and be unapologetic in her intellect and values while also being insecure and awkward and growing, all without judgement from the story. It felt like I’d been waiting for a character like her my whole life and knowing that not only was she all these things, but that also she would be the MCU’a MJ was iconic. When FFH didn’t change a thing about her to make her more palatable as a Love InterestTM, I was so relieved and overjoyed and inspired that there was room for stories about characters like that.
Writing about her was the easiest thing I’ve ever done, her avoidant attachment style and emotional repression and dry dark humor were both uncomfortably relatable and deeply aspirational. Having so many people enjoy my fics about her was one of the first times I saw the impact of my writing and it genuinely changed my life.
She is my girl, now and forever <3<3<3

❄️Week 1: December 9-15❄️
stars in the city ch. 10 by @parkrstark (Pt. 3 of constant as the stars above)
Summary: Peter and Steve are finally settling into their new life with Tony. Recovery isn't always a straight line, especially with a four-year-old, but they're trying their best. Their newfound fame has Steve juggling between his private life and the one plastered on the front page of every tabloid. He shouldn't have been surprised that the public didn't believe in his rags to riches love story. Tony usually makes it easier for him to handle it all. Until he starts to distance himself from Steve, as if now he's the one hiding something. And Steve is left wondering if he's about to lose Tony for good this time.
Relationships/Tropes: Stony, Irondad, Papa Steve, Homeless Peter Parker, Homeless Steve Rogers, No Powers AU, (Coffee Shop AU??? Sorta)
Review: This fic just always makes my heart ache in the best way. So much fluff, so much angst, it's a perfect balance that I'm just absolutely in love with!
❄️
Devils Roll The Dice ch. 9 by @ephemeralstark
Summary: “I miss you Mr. Stark,” Peter admitted as he stared up through the leaves overhead at the stars that twinkled promisingly at him, “I wish you were back here. I would give anything to fix things, I would give anything for you to be alive today.” What Peter didn't know, as he made that wish and closed his eyes, letting the tears fall shamefully, was that the Universe was always listening, and it was dangerous to make a wish and offer up anything. - Tony Stark wakes up in his bed one morning, not realising that months have passed since his death - that's going to be awkward to explain to the world. Peter Parker has been living on the streets, trying to hide his identity as the entire world wants Spider-Man dead, and dealing with the trauma that Beck left him. To make things worse - it's now his fault that yet another bad guy thinks they're entitled to owning Earth.
Relationships/Tropes: Irondad, Spideychelle, Pepperony, Happy Hogan/May Parker, Homeless Peter Parker, Post-FFH, Post-Identity Reveal, Tony Stark Comes Back To Life
Review: Oh man this fic is so sad and so sweet, I love it so much! I love how it combines Peter's trauma after Mysterio with his reaction to finding out that Tony is alive again, it's just so creative!
❄️
His Heart Bloomed Sunflowers (and he wore them on his skin) by @littlemissagrafina (Pt. 24 of Comfortember 2020)
Summary: Peter honestly didn't know how no one had discovered his tattoos yet. He wasn't broadcasting them but he wasn't exactly being the most subtle either. Although he was partly grateful for it since he was dreading what would happen when May on Tony saw them. But he was pleasantly surprised at the reactions that he got when he was found out. Peter had expected anger, disappointment, maybe annoyance at the very least. What he got was far from that. (A sequel to Comfortember Day 4. Anxiety) Comfortember Day 29. Make/Build/Create Something Beautiful
Relationships/Tropes: Minor Spideychelle, Tattoos, Comfortember
Review: I love this fic so much! I loved the description of how the flowers wilted when the ones he'd drawn had faded, and how the ones he got tattooed never wilted again :']
❄️
I’ll drive all night (to keep them warm) by @littlemissagrafina (Pt. 23 of Comfortember 2020)
Summary: For the next hour they tried to calm Morgan again but, just like the rest of the day with Tony and Pepper, nothing was working. No teething rings, gel, nothing. The little girl was just well and truly grumpy, tired, and sore.
Suddenly an idea came to Peter and he turned to Tony and Pepper.
"Can I try something?"
They both nodded at him, prompting him to continue with his idea.
"Can I take her for a drive?" He asked. "I'm not sure if it'll work but Ben used to do it for me when I was younger and it always calmed me down."
Comfortember day 28. Car Ride
Relationships/Tropes: Irondad, Peter & Morgan, Pepperony, Baby Morgan, Car Rides, Comfortember
Review: This one was so cute! I love Peter being a good big brother to baby Morgan, and I relate to finding trips in the car relaxing and nice :D
❄️
It’s What Brothers Do by @littlemissagrafina (Pt. 22 of Comfortember 2020)
Summary: Morgan was somehow full of even more energy than usual that day and wanted to see if she could do the monkey bars that were attached to the jungle gym herself. Before Peter could stop her, she had already grabbed hold of the first one and let herself swing towards the next one.
But the little girl had misjudged just how heavy swinging your own body weight was and almost immediately started falling. Peter shot forward from his place on the ground, jumping and diving, just managing to catch her before they both hit the grass of the park grounds. Comfortember Day 27. Park
Relationships/Tropes: Minor Pepperony, Peter & Morgan, Irondad, Peter Protects Morgan, Comfortember
Review: Another cute Big Brother Peter fic! I love that Peter was really protecting Morgan in this one, he loves her enough to put himself in harm's way to protect her
❄️
The Burger Debate by @littlemissagrafina (Pt. 21 of Comfortember 2020)
Summary: Tony and Peter shared a lot of similarities, there was no doubt about it. A lot of their mannerisms were the same, personality quirks (especially in the lab), occasional recklessness, selfless hero personas, etc etc. However, one thing they didn't share was their taste in burgers. Whenever the topic came up there was a friendly, yet heated, 'disagreement' as Tony called it. No matter what anyone ever told him, Tony thought that a cheeseburger was the holy grail of burgers. And Peter, well… he happened to think the same only for chicken burgers.
Comfortember Day 26. Junk Food
Relationships/Tropes: Irondad, Peter & Morgan, Pepperony, Infinity War Compliant, Not Endgame Compliant
Review: This was so sweet and so sad, especially the part where Tony couldn't eat burgers while Peter was snapped because it hurt him too much. It showed his grief really well
❄️
Career Day Drabble by @jen27ny
Summary: uncle happy and uncle rhodey come to peter’s career day
Relationships/Tropes: Happy & Peter, Rhodey & Peter, Happy & Rhodey, Minor Irondad, Career Day
Review: I loved this story so much! I really appreciate seeing some nice Uncle Rhodey and Uncle Happy content!!
❄️
Gifts by @wayward-fairchild (Pt. 5 of Holiday Collection 2020)
Summary: Rhodey and Tony have been together to the point Rhodey sees the kids as his own. Maybe that is why the kids agree to help with Rhodey's biggest gift to Tony yet.
Relationships/Tropes: Rhodey & Tony, Irondad, Rhodey & Peter, Christmas, Kid Peter
Review: This was just absolutely adorable! I love some Irondads content and this was very sweet
❄️
evermore by @lyssismagical
Summary: Just a Solid Vent Fic. I wanna do 30 days of Taylor Swift-inspired fics (folklore and evermore) lmao but idk yet we’ll see lemme know tho
Relationships/Tropes: Spideychelle, Irondad, Peter Overworks Himself
Review: I loved this one a lot! I definitely relate to Peter with tending to overwork myself during school and letting other things fall away, and then feeling quite exhausted after it's all over haha. I'm glad MJ and Tony were able to help him <3
❄️
Two Hours Spent Cuddling by @skeeter-110 (Pt. 2 of Twelve Days of Christmas)
Summary: A giant snowstorm takes out the power in the tower. While waiting for the backup generator to come up, the Stark-Rhodes family finds a way to stay warm.
Relationships/Tropes: Ironhusbands, Irondad, Papa Rhodey, Kid Peter, Christmas
Review: I. Love this story. So much. I haven't seen very many stories that center around Rhodey being a father-figure to Peter, and this one definitely filled all my desires for such a story! It's so fluffy and sweet, and I loved every word :D
❄️
Three Stark-Rhodes’ Decorating by @skeeter-110 (Pt. 3 of Twelve Days of Christmas)
Summary: Tony, Rhodey, and Peter Stark-Rhodes begin decorating for the holiday season.
Relationships/Tropes: Ironhusbands, Irondad, Papa Rhodey, Kid Peter, Christmas
Review: This story was absolutely adorable! It was another featuring Papa Rhodey and Dad Tony with Little Peter, and it was so well done! I love that Tony's robots and JARVIS each get a stocking hung over the fire too, and the way Peter pronounce ornaments as "orminents" was so cute!!!
❄️
Four Poorly Wrapped Presents by @skeeter-110 (Pt. 3 of Twelve Days of Christmas)
Summary: Peter has two presents each for his Daddy and his Papa. The only problem was, he had no idea how to wrap them. He figures the Avengers could help.
Relationships/Tropes: Ironhusbands, Irondad, Papa Rhodey, Avengers Family, Kid Peter, Christmas
Review: This was so sweet! Clint, Nat, and Steve treat Peter with such sweetness, and it made my heart all fuzzy and warm <3
❄️

I am SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW!
For those of you who don’t know, since the first X-Men film came out, me and five of my friends have seen every Marvel film together, and all bar Endgame have been on opening night. This includes all X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spideys and through the MCU.
When Endgame was released in the UK, I was actually in the States on business so they waited. I flew home overnight Wednesday. Landed into London at midday. Showered in the business lounge at Heathrow, flew up to Manchester and landed at 4. The car dropped me off back home for 5 and I was in the cinema with them at 6. 🤣
Sadly, when Spider-Man FFH came out, one of us was seriously poorly. With a viral infection. (Possibly too early to be Corona, but who knows). So we hung on for a week or so to see that and then went without her.
And then, Lockdown hit.
We all saw Black Widow but not together - some rented it, but 3 of us went to the cinema as we refused point blank to not see Marvel on the big screen…
So now, over 2 years later, the OG6 (yup, that’s us- we got matching tattoos as well coz we’re really sad…) are reuniting for Shang Chi next week. Again, not opening night but being together felt more important and so we waited until diaries alined instead of splitting off into smaller groups once more as we did for Spidey.
Sigh. I’ve missed my friends 🥰

It's been nearly two years since endgame and I'll still get a random wave of grief every few months where everything hurts. Ok Marvel does it count as trauma at this point because it should.
Here are my two responses:
THE VERSION I WANT TO HAVE BUT I KEEP TRYING TO INTELLECTUALIZE SO IT DOESN’T HURT SO BAD:
OMFG I KNOW RIGHT???????????????? IT’S THE WORST AND I’M TIRED OF BEING SAD, I JUST WANT TO LOVE THEM.
THE INTELLECTUALLY STEPPING BACK VERSION WHICH GETS LONG BUT IS HOW I AM RATIONALIZING [cw: lots of talk about grief; some abstract discussion of the pandemic]:
It's because we haven't gotten any new Marvel texts, so this is what we're left with. The movie was designed to be the end of a chapter, not the end of the novel, and they intentionally organized their schedule to have a long break to make us sit with it- originally seven to ten months between FFH and Black Widow, if I understand correctly (they moved dates around when they postponed Guardians of the Galaxy 3), but it was never supposed to be this long. FFH was July 2, 2019; it’s going to end up being 675 days between Marvel theatrical releases. The texts create the trauma and then help us process it, but because there’s been so long between them, we don’t have the healing.
FFH was about grappling with Tony’s death, but you can look at the first few Phase 4 projects as dealing with other major losses: Black Widow about Nat’s legacy, WandaVision about Viz’s, and Falcon and the Winter Soldier about Steve’s. (Marvel somehow does not seem to understand that Gamora also needs to be mourned, because they brought back an old version of her. This is a Problem. The same Problem exists with Loki, but it seems like the TVA in the Loki series will be actively dealing with that?) The Hawkeye series is also kind of by definition going to be dealing with the whole mess of Endgame emotions; to tell any new story about Clint, it’s going to have to wrestle with him becoming a racist murder ninja for funsies and everything that came after.
It’s really hard to deal with grief over fictional characters because they’re fictional. It feels like you’re taking a made-up story about superheroes too seriously; it feels like you’re invested in something that doesn’t matter when so much in the world does. But at least for me, the fact that the stakes feel lower makes me invest that much harder, and when they go from low stakes to what they did in Endgame- which raised the stakes dramatically but did not seem to understand the additional weight it was carrying for increased catharsis- it hits that much harder because it changes the rules we’d been playing by. And knowing that Eventually In The Future we will have texts that help us wrap our heads and our hearts around these losses doesn’t help, because they don’t exist now and all that we really have is, well, a lot of dropped storylines and a performatively-thrown bench.
And on top of that, we’re living in a world right now full of grief we don’t really have outlets for, and fiction is supposed to be our escape, but because it never gave us the end point for that grief it can’t be the necessary release valve. I’ve seen some reviews saying that the snap can, retroactively, work out incredibly for Marvel; in 2019 it felt like this big a loss to the world of the MCU couldn’t possibly resonate for the audience, and now the world is mired in huge losses and we desperately need that fiction that is far enough from our experience to not be gutting but close enough to give us catharsis. The problem is that Endgame didn’t give us that catharsis, relying on later texts to do so, and that means we’re stuck in a holding pattern in fiction like in real life.
I know that at least for my mind, grief over fiction feels really embarrassing (it combines feelings, which are embarrassing, with being overinvested in media, which is ALSO embarrassing), but also easier to access than grief over real people, which is so huge it still feels numbing. So it’s grief without catharsis, but it’s grief we can fathom and feel.
And that is my intellectual justification for why sometimes I think about Vormir and my heart wants to explode, even a year and nine months later.

If you can, do some more of the facial and body language analysis posts because they're soooo good, I love them and your blog 💕
Hi, I’m sorry for the long wait!
This must be the hardest analysis yet. I cried three times writing this, so I’m sharing my pain with you.
1. Peter is a kid.
2. Tony and Peter are a team.
3. He’s traumatized.
Ok, the first thing you gotta understand about Peter Parker in these movies: he is a kid.
No matter how much you want him to act all grown up and capable, he’s a kid. A very brave kid. Throughout the movie, Peter remains calm and collected because he really wants to help and he understands the gravity of the situation. Bear in my mind this kid is not acting because someone gave him orders but because they informed him what’s going on. He knows that they need to take the gauntlet off, he knows Thanos is dangerous and this could be the complete demise of not only his neighboorhood but the entire earth. We all know that at the end of the movie, Peter shows just how scared he was all the time.
‘You can't be a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man...if there's no neighborhood.’
The minute he realizes that there’s trouble, he goes and helps.
It’s been two years since Homecoming (it was confirmed that the time gap between HOCO and IW was two years even if Peter says he’s 16 in FFH. This could possibly be a mistake since not many people knew much about IW and Endgame back then. Also, in HOCO there was a similar mistake with the timeline. "Eight years later") Peter’s been spiderman for almost three years and he knows how to control and work his powers better. He probably trained with Tony and he has now more experience with all the superhero thing.
Now, Peter is his very own independent hero, he has his story but some people think that everything about him revolves around Tony and I’ve said it before, in my HOCO analysis that the reason people think this is because Tony Stark is a very big presence in the MCU and it’s easy to overlook the other details about Peter’s life when someone that big is also there too. But, any fan who really loves Spiderman knows that Peter’s journey is about growth. It’s about sacrifice. It’s about responsibility. It’s about him finding his way into this world and surviving it. It’s about him protecting the little guy because he is the little kid in a big world like his. His attachment to Tony has more to do with the fact that he wants a male figure in his life, one that is alive. He wants the comfort, the safety and the support that comes with it. A teenage wanting those things is not out of the ordinary. He’s allowed to have more than one paternal figure in his life. Don’t constraint Peter just because you don’t like Tony Stark.
And Peter himself confirms this:
‘Peter knew he should feel all these things -help other people, being responsible inthe hero business- without Tony’s approval. But, right now, Peter wanted Mr. Stark to approve of him more than anything.’
‘Mr. Stark made him feel normal and okay. Something he thought he’d never feel again.’
Something very interesting to me was how both Tony and Peter reacted the same way when the aliens came. Tony was internally panicking and said to Bruce: ‘This is it.’ And in the IW novelization, the moment Peter saw the space ship he said to himself: ‘This was it. He had to do something.’
Something that I just love about this is how much they know each other too well. Tony knows Peter is stubborn and he won’t give up easily. Tony told him that Strange ‘The wizard’ was in trouble and Peter went after Maw and didn’t let go even if he was getting dragged up to space, so he did what he usually did when Peter was being difficult. Force him back to earth. And Peter? He cooperates with him so well, he calculates his mentor’s next moves and goes along with it. They’re a team. They have worked together before. Two years of working together. Look at the coordination, how they flawlessly work together. They’ve done this before. How Tony just informs Peter what’s going on instead of yelling and panicking. He understands Peter is pretty capable of defending himself.
Later, they demonstrate this again with this:
Peter is capable of thinking of a solution because this kid, no matter how many pop culture references, is a genius and will be a great strategist in the future and Tony knows this. He left EDITH to Peter for these reasons.
This is routine for them. Tony makes this a teachable lesson. lol. ‘Come on. We got a situation. See him down there? He's in trouble. What's your plan?’
He’s a dad, forgive him.
I love how they just bicker while Strange is getting tortured down there lmao.
This part only solidifies their relationship. Look at Peter looks so done and disappointed because this is the same argument Tony gives him when he’s in danger. Tony may trust Peter but his safety always comes first and Peter knows this. Look at him:
He takes in the situation and even if he can come back to earth and fight the other aliens there, he won’t leave Tony. I want to clarify that the reason Peter is in space is because 1. He wants to fight. He wants to help. He’s said it before, if he has the chance to help, he'll do it. He’s spiderman and is his responsibility to help if he can. This is the essence of Spiderman.
‘When you can do the things that I can, but you don't, and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you.’
2. Tony. He’s a loyal kid and he loves his mentor. People regularly point out Tony’s fear of losing Peter but Peter is just equally scared of losing Tony.
‘speaking of loyalty...’ ‘I just thought about you on the way...and kinda stuck to the side of the ship.’
So he fights Tony on this. He won’t let him not participate. He already lost Ben, he won’t lose Tony. He knows this is a dangerous situation, he wants to protect his people. He feels responsible for them and he’ll fight to do the right thing.
Another thing is how much Peter trusts Tony. He knows and is so sure that Tony will keep him safe, no matter what. This is because Tony has proved this before. Multiple times. He knows he’s Tony’s priority even if the world is practically ending.
‘He wanted him away from all of Tony’s complicated feelings around caring about this kid way too much to focus on the task at hand.’
‘Tony had to keep himself calm and not think back to mere seconds ago when that terror had been his own, directly connected to the possibility of losing Peter Parker.’
‘Tony had only continued onto the ship because he felt certain that he’d gotten Peter safely out of harm’s way. With Peter here, very much IN harm’s way, would he be able to fully concentrate on the task at hand?’
‘They were about to take on the greatest enemy they’d ever faced. This was an enemy that had haunted Tony for six years. An enemy that threatened to wipe out half of the universe, untold trillions of beings with the snap of his fingers. He had a wide-eyed kid he had to protect’
‘Is this… oh, no… is this how it feels? To be on the other end of this? He owed Pepper an apology. He owed Pepper a lot of apologies.’
I love how Tony is comparing Pepper’s love for him with his own love for Peter. This not only tells you Peter is part of his family but just as Endgame confirms it, Peter is one of the few people he loves the most in the world.
Later, when the guardians attack, look at how Peter stays put, he could easily get himself out of Quill’s grip but he doesn’t, he lets Tony handle the situation.
Makes me wonder how many times they’ve been in this situation. Homecoming!Peter would’ve done something very reckless. He would’ve risked his life or someone else's but this is a 17-year-old kid who’s had Tony as his mentor, he’s had May to think about and he won’t let Ben down.
Also, the non-verbal communication between them is very telling. How the glances, the trust and the way they fight tells us how much they mean to each other. How he always looks at Tony for his reaction and how both of them are in synch with everything.
Now, let’s talk about this kid’s bravery in this film. Look at him, this is peak bravery. This kid is kicking one of the most terrifying and powerful titans on the universe.
Even if I loved FFH, I think they shouldn’t have skipped the part where Peter dwells with the repercussions of his trauma. They should’ve focused on Peter’s traumas and experiences after passing through all of this.
Look at this, you do really believe this kid wouldn’t have nightmares of this monster? He probably sees his face in every nightmare. This titan killed Tony. This titan killed him and half of the universe. He threw him around like a rag doll, chocked him and slammed him against the ground.
One of the most heartbreaking things is that Mysterio is right about what he said to Peter. ‘Maybe if you were good enough, Tony would still be alive’ Peter feels responsible. He does. Remember how Peter was a big part in securing the gauntlet? He took the gauntlet off Thanos. He actually did it. He took it off. For Peter, there were pretty close. That was it. He doesn’t know what Strange knows, Strange must’ve seen in all of the millions of possibilities he saw that even if Peter took the gauntlet off, Thanos would still win. But Peter doesn’t know this. He thinks he almost got it.
When he came back, he was one of the people who went after the gauntlet to protect it. He took it because he felt like this was his responsibility before waking up and now he’s trying to amend that by taking care of it. Thanos started blowing people off with lasers and Peter still held the gauntlet like it was his lifeline.
He feels like he failed. The person who used the gauntlet, later on, is his mentor.
Of course he feels like he failed. He feels responsible for Tony’s death even if he’s not.
‘I don't think Tony would have done what he did, if he didn't know you were going to be here after he was gone.’
He knows that Tony practically did it for him. Tony is a hero and he would’ve done that regardless but the motivation behind all of it, it was Peter. Always Peter.
‘Tony second-guessed everything he did. But the one thing he didn't second guess was picking you.’
It’s natural that Peter feels responsible. Look at the catatonic way he behaves after the horrible experience. He’s still in shock.
Peter is the kind of kid that stands tall and bounces back up when the situation demands it but he’s also the kind of kid that wants to introduce himself to a magical cape and walk ladies across the street.
Look at him: This kid is scared but his bravery doesn’t let him hesitate. He knows what’s right and he knows in his heart, what he needs to do.
This is the kind of kid that would go to war with his mentor, stay on the space ship to save one person, come back from being dead and fight all over again.
Now, this is the most painful part and I almost wanted to skip it because... I’m still not over it and I never will. I still think Tony deserved a different ending.
So first Tony witness one of his biggest nightmares. Peter dying. Peter, for the first time in this film, shows us just how scared he truly is. He sees how the others start fading and he feels his demise coming. It’s inevitable. So he thinks in the one thing he always thinks about when he’s in a place where he can’t save himself. He goes to Tony. He thinks Tony can save him. Tony always saved him so why would this time be different, right? He desperately clings to Tony and begs him to save him. He doesn’t want to die.
When he knows that there’s no other way, he gives up. This 17-year-old kid just gave up on his life and apologized for it. This just tells you how selfless Peter is. He’s dying and he’s concerned Tony is going to blame himself for his death.
Then, when he comes back, from Peter’s perspective, it’s only been a couple of hours or minutes but he doesn’t know he lost 5 years of his life. Imagine how traumatic it was for him when he realized he’s been dead for years.
He lets Tony hug him. He’s probably done this before. I refuse to believe this is their second hug after two years. Just because this hug is more emotionally charged doesn’t mean Peter didn’t get any affection from Tony before.
Then the terrible thing happens. He realizes his mentor is dying and tells him the thing no one else told him: ‘We won and you did it, sir.’
Tony did it and Peter is aware of this. He tells him it’s him, it’s Peter. It’s someone he trusts and knows. ‘Can you hear me?’ He clings to him and by the look on his face, Peter’s in pain. He passed through this once and now he’s doing it again. For Peter, this is history repeating and he feels like is his fault all over again.
He’s begging Tony to come back now. He’s watching his father figure die. This kid must be pretty messed up. I thought that after this he wouldn’t be capable of trusting people again but maybe FFH took another direction and showed us that nothing can corrupt Peter’s pure heart. Tony would’ve wanted him to stay pure. It’s just who he is, he always put others before himself.
In my perspective, I think Peter is not over Tony’s death. He’s not even halfway there. He’s still in denial, he’s still assimilating, he’s still going through it and it’s going to take some time.
Peter is one of the bravest kids out there and that alone should be a big reason to have mad respect for him. He has been through hell and back and he still comes out on top in every situation.
Tony is a big part of his life, and he is always going to be. Peter has Tony in his heart and his presence will still be on him the rest of life. He loves Tony and will always love him, whether you like it or not and if you want to be mad about this, stay mad. This is a fact and no matter how much whining you do, there’s nothing you can do to change that.

Yeah I don’t think it was mutual as in if z didn’t end it that he would have but I defiently don’t think she just blindsided him. I think they both knew it was heading that way but neither of them wanted to end it cause they loved each other but z being the realist she is decided it would be best to end it before things got bitter between them and Tom agreed. And then after not seeing each other for a few weeks when z got to London for the press tour they hooked up and continued it for the whole press tour which would have complicated things but then properly ended things after the premiere. I think it would have hurt z to see him pictured with another girl so soon but wouldn’t have hated him for it she knew he was hurting and that it was probaly a rebound, so they stayed friends and kept in contact and then when she was seen out in Greece with je your right they stopped liking each other’s posts and liked family members posts instead Tom liked a lot of laws and Claire’s posts about z. Then when the nyc pics came out even though he knew she was with je that would have really hurt him to see her out being openly affectionate with him in public and kissing him when for 3 years he couldn’t even go out in public with her without chaperone Darnell and so maybe he sent her a message about how much that hurt before he had time to cool off and they had a little argument and then didn’t talk for a few months. And maybe Tom posting that hoco throwback post and tagging everyone was him trying to reach out and clear the air cause he had well and truly calmed down I don’t think Tom is the type to hold a grudge or hold on to anger for a long time and then eventually tried again reaching out to congratulate her on her Emmy nod and maybe ask how she’s been and was handling lockdown and stuff and they had a good conversation and cleared the air.
This was VERY well stated! 👏 And it pretty much sums up my theory on what most likely happened with Tomdaya.
I def think they were both hurt by seeing the other move on with other people romantically. However, I suspect that even though Z was hurt about Tolivia, she knew she didn’t really have a place to say anything, cuz she was the one who initiated their breakup. 🤷 Like you said, she might have felt like it was understandable if he was moving on w/someone else. I don’t think it was so much him moving on w/someone else that hurt, as much as it was how FAST he seemed to move on to someone else....especially seeing as how they had JUST spent nearly a month in each other’s presence again during the FFH press tour. I think that’s when Z felt like since Tom was obviously moving on, she was going to move on too. 🤷 So when Z moved on to JE, I don’t even think Tom really blamed her since he knew HE had been visibly spotted out w/someone new FIRST. It was the pics in Feb however that kind of made things go haywire. I don’t even know if it was so much the fact that Z was with another guy that bothered Tom so much (he obviously knew she was with JE since those Greece pictures in September). I actually think the Feb/NYC pics triggered him so much because she looked so HAPPY, and they looked like a “couple” while out in NYC, and were kissing too. 👀 And we all know how during the Tomdaya rlshp they tried so hard to HIDE the relationship, so I definitely think Tom was hurt by this.
I mean, when you look at the pictures you can see why he would easily assume that they must be in love.

European Adventure Part 2 - Peter Parker x Reader
Read part 1 here
A/N: i just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the support on this, i did not expect it to have so many likes and comments so quckily. I haven’t had a chance to respond to everyone, so thank you!
warning: ffh spoilers
“Good news, we’re going to Prague!” Mr Harrington announced. Everyone was very confused- what about Paris? “Tour company upgraded us” he clarified seeing the perplexed expressions of his students.
The class made their way towards the bus. You were walking with your roomie for the trip, Michelle aka MJ. You were helping each other with your bags as you clumsily made your way towards your not-very-bus-driver-looking bus driver, who you discovered name was Dimitri.
Peter and Ned were trailing behind the two of you, talking in hushed whispers, you could only catch the words “fury” and “hijacked”. What the hell were they talking about? You shrugged it off that it was probably one of their video games or something. But the thought continued to nag in the back of your head as you took a seat towards the back of the bus. This newly found suspicion of Peter came mainly from the previous day’s events.
What was that stuff coming out of him? Was it coming out of him- no of course it couldn’t, that’d be so weird… maybe it was just water? That would make sense.
Questions flew around your head- you hadn’t had much time to think about all the confusing things you had seen. But something didn’t sit right with you. But that was all you could go off, you didn’t see Peter again that day until you had all returned to the hotel, watching what had unfolded on the news.
He seemed fine- he had called his Aunt almost instantly but that wasn’t suspicious, we had all nearly died, talking to family was regular after a near-death experience- but you had heard him whisper down the line to her about this “plan” and how he had begun to rethink it. You assumed it was the one with MJ he talked so fondly about. But by the way he spoke you thought there might have been more to it.
Your phone dinged. As you looked at the screen you realised that you had been lost in your thoughts for over 2 hours now. Your eyes skimmed the notification on your screen.
Gwen: yo lover girl, where’s my denim jacket? It’s an EMERGENCY
You rolled your eyes. Your sister always had a knack for being ridiculously melodramatic. She was your best friend- when your parents disappeared she was there for you, being three years older than you she became your default parent, despite being only 14 at the time, as you were shifted between foster carers. She was what got you through it all.
Y/N: it’s in my suitcase dummy. You said I could take it with me, remember? Also, don’t call me lover girl
Gwen: damn I did too. What am I supposed to wear with my orange dress now??!! And because you’re in lurrrrvvvveee with that geeky boy
Y/N: wear the black one. It’s in my cupboard, next to my red coat. And I’m not in love with him! I’ve spent two days with him! All I said was he was cute and nice
Gwen: ooh yes this jacket is cute thx sis xx And I can hear wedding bells already <3
You puffed out a laugh as you lent back in your chair. Pfft, you weren’t in love with him. Sure, you liked Peter, he was funny and smart and far more mature then most guys going into senior year. But he liked MJ, and you weren’t going to put yourself through the pain of losing someone again.
But that didn’t mean you couldn’t hang out with him.
You stood up from your seat and made your way to the back seat of the bus where you knew he was sitting. As you reached where he was you peered over the chair in front of him and let out a giggle. He looked up and as soon as he saw you his cheeks became a dark shade of crimson.
“Sick glasses Parker.” You laughed as you took the seat two across from him since his bag was taking up the seat next to him.
He chuckled a little, before fumbling to put the glasses back into their case.
“T-thanks. Um, they were a gift from a... friend.” He swallowed as he finished his sentence. You nodded as you smiled at him
“Well your friend has a pretty suave sense of fashion. But, uh, I don’t know how well they suit you?” you fake grimaced as you squinted your eyes at you. He reached across the empty seat to lightly punch you in the arm.
“Hey! Shut up! They’re a fashion statement” he laughed
“Oh yeah Peter, because you’re just the pinnacle of stylish,” you smirked at him.
***
The bus came to halt just inside a small town as Mr Harrington’s voice rang out across the bus announcing a ten-minute pit stop. You stood up quickly. Peter laughed at your eagerness.
“You won’t be laughing when I pee on you Peter!” you shouted as you ran down the aisle of the bus before any of your classmates could leave their seats. A chorus of giggles followed you as you left the bus, quickly making your way towards the bathroom. You took your time in the bathroom, having a quick conversation with Betty and MJ. Betty was chattering about her and Ned’s relationship. You and MJ shared a look as she spoke about how amazing love at first sight was.
“Betty,” you said, “you’ve known Ned for years. This is like love at fifth million sight” you laugh and even MJ snorted out a laugh.
“Yeah, but this is like the first time I’ve seen him, you know?” Betty exaggerated.
“No” you stated as MJ dryly stated “Not at all”
“Whatever,” Betty huffed as she crossed her arms. You could hear Mr Dell’s voice urging you all to get back on the bus.
“I don’t believe in love” MJ stated. You laughed at her,
“Yeah sure, Miss ‘Obsessed-over-Mr-Darcy-for-4-months-straight.’”
“Hey! That was an unrealistic standard. He’s much better than anyone I could actually fall in love with” She countered
“He literally was a dick to her- that’s a ridiculously accurate portrayal of a relationship.” You countered back. She rolled her eyes,
“Only good thing about that book was its ability to pave way for the feminist movement,” Betty said, laughing at the banter between the two of you. “Besides,” she sighed dreamily, “Ned’s not a dick to me, does that mean we’re unrealistic.” You and MJ rolled your eyes at the lovestruck blonde as the three of you made your way onto the bus. You didn’t mean for it to happen, but for some reason, MJ’s statement clung to the front of you brain.
“I don’t believe in love”- maybe this means she doesn’t like Peter. This would make things much easier. Wait! Much easier for what?
But that was exactly the thing- it would make thing harder. This was exactly why Peter liked her- she was unconventional. She didn’t fall into the hopeless romantic category and that made her appealing. Unlike you. Whilst not a soppy, love-obsessed teenager, you did appreciate the occasional cutesy moment or proof of true love. It gave you hope that one day you would find someone that made you happy. Maybe that someone was Peter…
Just as the thought entered your head you made it disappear. That was weird. Sure, you’d known him for a little over a year, but you’d only gotten to know him really, really well in the past 3 days. God, you were turning into Betty.
But as you thought about him, you realised he hadn’t returned to his original seat at the back of the bus. You looked around for where he was when you saw him sitting in the very front seat. He was peaking around the seat, looking at Brad. Brad was looking down at his phone and he was looking at a photo.
You saw that it was Peter… with his pants down, with some random lady? You looked at Brad, back to where Peter was now standing.
You were walking towards him, to tell him what you saw on Brad’s phone, when you saw his hand fly across Flash’s face.
“Peter,” you said continuing down the aisle of seats towards him, “did you just punch Flash?”
He looked up at you with the glasses he had before now covering his face. He looked up astonished.
“No!” he exclaimed but looked like he immediately regretted it. He looked in terror behind you. You turned around to follow his gaze, but as you did, the bus lurched violently from side to side. Screams left the students mouths as the bus swerved.
“This is not the Autobahn!” you heard Mr Dell’s voice shriek.
You lost your footing as you fell forward. Peter was quick to reach his arms out in front of him and grab your shoulders just as your face was inches from the carpet of the bus. He stood you upright, and as you went to thank him, he turned around manically.
“Edith!” he said. What? Who the hell was Edith?
Once he found what he was looking for he crouched down and picked up his glasses, the ones you had seen earlier that day, and placed them on his nose. He looked passed you in terror once again. His mouth was opening and closing in panic, almost as if he was trying to find the right words to say to combat the situation he was in.
You opened your mouth to ask him what was wrong, when Mr Harrington’s voice came from behind you. You spun around, your back now facing Peter.
“Peter, Y/N, find your fannies in a seat and buckle up, right now!” he said. Peter grunted. He grabbed your shoulders and whispered through gritted teeth in your ear from behind you.
“Create a distraction.” A distraction? For what? You wanted to ask him, but you could tell by the tone of his voice this was urgent and needed to be acted upon immediately. You hesitated for a moment, before pointing out the window behind Mr Harrington’s head.
“Oh! Look at the baby mountain goats!” you yelled.
“Baby mountain goats?” Mr Harrington exclaimed. This caught the attention of your classmates as they all clamored to that side of the bus in order to catch a glimpse of the non-existent animal. As their attention was diverted you spun around to ask Peter what the actual hell was going on. But all you were met was his feet. As you looked up you saw him in the air, as if he had jumped through the escape hatch, his arm stretched out in front of him. He landed almost silently in front of you, his hair stuck up randomly from the force of the wind. You looked at him incredulously as he puffed.
“I don’t see any mountain goats.” Mr Harrington stated. You stared at Peter with confusion for one more second before turning around to you teacher.
“Oh, um, you must have, uh… you must’ve missed them, yeah…” you uttered slowly, as you turned back to Peter, with your brow still furrowed. His chest was still rising and falling hard, as he fixed the glasses on his nose since they had gone slightly askew when he had jumped.
You were shocked. How was that even humanly possible? And what was he doing? You opened and closed your mouth multiple times in an attempt to find the right words, but they escaped you. You had so many questions, but not the first clue on what to ask.
“I know you think none of us have noticed Peter,” Betty spoke up. You both whipped to face her direction as she continued, “but your new look? I love it”
“Oh, thanks” he breathed out. He nodded a few times before slumping into his seat.
“Right babe?” Betty stated to Ned.
You hesitated for a moment but decided to sit next to him. You heard Ned’s voice agreeing from the seats behind you as you looked over at the boy on your right.
“Yeah babe! Sophisticated, classy… very European.”
Peter opened his eyes after a few seconds, hand over his racing heart.
“Thanks for covering me” he said, a slight smile on his face, his nose scrunched as he looked at you hesitantly. He had no idea how you were going to react.
You looked at him stunned. You breathed harshly out your nose as you puffed out a laugh.
“You’re welcome I guess? But I mean, what was that..?” you trailed off as you dropped your voice and lent in closer to him, your thumb motioned over your shoulder to where you and him had stood during all the commotion.
“What was what?” he squeaked, “that was totally normal” he laughed awkwardly.
“Sure, Peter,” you rolled your eyes. “Um, anyway,” you shook your head to focus one what you were doing originally, “I came down here to tell you I saw a photo of you…on Brad’s phone.” You cringed as you recounted the image in your head.
Peter’s eyes widen, “that’s not what it looks like, at all!” he speaks quickly, sitting straight up in his seat, shaking his head furiously.
“It’s okay Peter,” you smiled, “you don’t have to explain.” His shoulders visibly relaxed at your words as he slouched back into his seat again. He ran a hand through his hair, clearly frustrated. “I can help. I do’t know, maybe I can try and get him to delete it?” you asked, shrugging.
“You would do that?” he asked. He peered at you over his glasses with a look of anticipation on his face, as if you were about laugh at him or make fun of him because of what the picture entailed.
“Yeah,” you said quietly, “I mean you clearly don’t want him to have it and I doubt it speaks much truth. You’re, um,” you cleared your throat awkwardly, “you’re not like that.”
He genuinely smiled at you. He stared at you for a moment with a look of admiration and, almost, realisation. Without thinking much he brought a finger up to push his glasses up his nose, but retracted his hand, almost as if he had forgotten they were there.
“Oh!” he spoke louder this time, making you jump slightly. “No! I mean, it’s okay. I can handle it.” He said firmly, nodding his head.
“Oh okay.” You said mildly deflated. You really did want to help Peter. “Okay, um, well I’ll just head back to my seat.” You sentence got quieter as you spoke, standing up to retreat to your seat. As you left you heard Peter’s quiet whisper ‘okay let’s try that again’.
Try what again?
You brushed the thought off- he was very confident when he said he had it handled, so you had every reason to believe him. As you continued up the aisle you saw Brad take a seat next to MJ. You didn’t think much of it as you sat back down with your things. As your eyes traveled over to Brad again, you saw him reach for his phone in his back pocket. Realisation dawned on you; he was going to show the photo to MJ!
Just as you went to snatch the phone out of his hand you heard his confused voice.
“I swear it was here!” he said as he flicked through the photos in his camera roll. “That’s so weird.”
“Yeah, weird.” MJ trailed off as her eyes shifted. You followed her gaze to see Peter with his stuck around his chair, glasses still perched on his face. As soon as he saw her looking he swung back into his seat.
She turned back to Brad as he continued to convince her of the photo he had taken. You rested back into your chair, relieved that Brad had no proof to embarrass Peter. But how did he delete the photo?
As the query hung in your head you felt like you were being watched. You lifted your head to look directly down the aisle of the bus. And at the end you saw brown eyes clad in blue glasses staring back at you.
A/N: i hope you all enjoyed :) not too sure where i was going with this lol, but hopefully it gives you a little bit more insight into the character and her relationships, especially with Peter. next part will be up soon!

Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
Euro Trip
''I have a plan!'' Ned turns to look out Peter with a confused expression.
''Okay, first, I am going to sit next to Y/N on the plane, second-''
''Wait what?'' Ned cuts in. immediately starting to disagree with Peter's idiotic plan to win you over.
''I'm going to buy a dual headphone adapter and watch movies with her on the plane, the whole time, third-''
''Okay...'' Ned buts in again, his eyes searching the classroom for you. You were currently sitting over with your friends, writing something down in your book.
However, Peter just ignores Ned's hostility and continues on.
''Three, while we are in Venice I was thinking of getting her flowers, though she doesn't really like flowers but she loves the Sunflower and Red rose combo so I figured I'll get her that but on a necklace instead-''
''Nice...''
''Then five, when we get to Paris, I am going to take her to the top of the Eiffel Tower, give her the necklace and tell her how I feel and... step six.... hopefully she feels the same way'' Peter eyes dart across to you as he uttered the last part, watching in awe as you tilted your head back and laugh at whatever it was your friends were talking about.
''Oh and don't forget step seven'' Peter's eyes go back to Ned in confusion.
''Step seven?''
''Yeah, don't do any of that'' Peter tries to hold in his scoff.
''Why?'' Why wasn't Ned on board with this plan, it was a fool proof plan. Peter had gone over every possible scenario and this was the best one, even Karen agreed. Though admittedly, he was slightly embarrassed that he talked to his A.I about this.
''Because I wanna be Bachelors in Europe!'' Now Peter scoffs.
''Man...''
''No seriously, I may not know much as a guy but I do know this, Europeans love Americans... and more than half of them are women!''
''Okay... sure... but I really like Y/N, okay? She's awesome, she's super funny in a kinda dorky way and sometimes I catch her looking at me and I feel like she-''
''Oh shh! She's coming'' Ned and Peter quickly both shut up and glance down at their work sheets in front of them which were both already done of course.
''Hi dorks, excited about the science trip?'' I spoke up with a smile, glancing at both of them. However Peter glanced up at me nervously, already feeling himself getting tongue tied.
''H-hi... o-oh yeah we were just... talking about the trip'' Peter plays with his pen in his hand to try and get himself to focus a little. His heart was beating faster and faster by the second. The crush he had developed on you came on very sudden, almost immediately when you guys became friends. I gave them both a weird look but thought nothing of it seeing as Peter was always like this. It was honestly the cutest thing to me.
''Yeah well, Peter's plan'' Ned interjects. Peter stiffens as his eyes widen.
''You have a plan?'' I asked Peter, my eyes never leaving his. God they were so chocolaty brown...
''Oh no I... I don't have a plan'' He had wanted to kill Ned so badly right now.
''Oh he's just going to be doing a bunch of school work while we are on the trip and collect some dining spoons from each continent'' Peter felt relieved with the smooth lie Ned had told you yet stiffened once again at the last part he had said. My eyes now glanced over both of them suspiciously.
''Like a grandmother?'' I had no filter with anything so I was always quite blunt. Peter's eyes widen as he quickly shake his head, pointing his pen towards Ned.
''No he'll be collecting spoons I'll just be... uhhh... doing my school work.. yep'' He glanced down now and fiddled with his pen a little more.
''Okay umm... that was a little bit of a roller coaster'' I tried to joke as all of us emitted strained laughs.
''Little tip, download a VPN so the government can't track you while we are gone'' I furrowed my eyebrows to myself once I heard how stupid I had sounded.
''Smart... will do'' Peter compliments, smiling at me. I couldn't help but to smile back and nod my head, not liking the effect he seemed to always have on me.
''Bye'' I gave them both a small wave before quickly walking past them as soon as the bell chimed. Both Peter and Ned turned to look at each other, Ned smiled.
''Well I think that went well'' Peter just shook his head and dropped it on the table, exhaling his breath he hadn't even known he was holding.
~*~*~*~*
''Okay come on guys, single file line please!'' Mr Harris had looked more stressed then ever, frantically moving his hands in the air while they were still holding his clipboard. He always stresses when it comes to trips of any kind and honestly I could see why. He could barely keep his shirt buttoned never mind keeping a hoard of teenagers in check. Though Mr Fitz was well calm, probably because of the mini pillow comfortably around his neck as he was taking a day nap standing up.
''God I am so excited! I can't wait for the 8 hour plane ride! The boats we'll take to the hotel! All the different Museums we'll visit, the food, the wine-'' I swiftly laughed and put my hand over my best friends mouth to stop her from rambling.
''Calm down okay? We haven't even boarded yet'' I smiled softly to myself even though I felt like rolling my eyes.
''I know but this is so exciting!'' It was exciting, though if I was going to have to listen to her ramble on for the next 8 hours stuck in a confined space I would go insane.
''Hey he's staring again'' I turn my head to my best friend and over to Brad in the distance, his eyes immediately locking with mine. In reality he was 5 years younger then me, one of my friends kid brother yet since the blip, he aged whereas I didn't.
Not gonna lie though, those 5 years had turned him into practically a Greek God.
''He would put Zeus to shame...'' I watched as she stared lovingly at Brad, it honestly made me a little sick to my stomach. Yeah he was good looking but a total jackass too.
''Isn't that the guy who had two man ponies? no one looks good in a man pony'' Her smile instantly fell from her face as she turned to glare at me. I laughed as she stormed off, joining the rest of the class in the line up.
''Now Boarding flight 2376 to Venice Italy, please make your way to gate 37 for your departure in 20 minutes'' A woman's voice came over the PA system.
''Okay guys hurry up! let's go! We are not having a repeat of what happened last time! Move it!'' Mr Harris lungs would eventually die out soon from all the screaming. I smiled to myself as I followed the class, getting gently shoved along by the teacher to hurry up.
''You did practically insult my soul mate but, who are you sitting next to on the plane?'' My best friend turned to face me while the others began boarding in front.
''I'm not sure'' I shrugged my shoulders, looking straight ahead. I could see the familiar brown locks in front, smiling towards the stewardess before walking through the gate. My best friends eyes follow and she snickers.
''Hopefully it's not next to Penis Parker'' Sometimes I had wondered why I was even friends with her, she was ruder than me.
''Y/F/N, stop'' She knew I liked him so she did everything she could to bug me about it.
''What? I'm just saying, I heard he snores like, really loud'' I laugh at her and push her along to the front.
''Whatever dork''
~*~*~*~*
The plane was a lot more bigger than I had imagined. It was probably a very bad time to begin getting claustrophobic. I popped in my ear phones and played some calming music to ease my nerves. I hadn't even been on a plane before till now.
''Do you want the first shift or second? I could take either'' Mr Harris spoke up to Mr Fitz from just a little in front.
''Give me the third shift'' I laughed softly to myself.
''I can't chaperone these kids alone'' Mr Harris complains as he walks over to his seat as Mr Fitz walk further onward, immediately sitting down getting ready to take a nap.
''Hey Peter, this is called an airplane, it's like the buses you're used to except it fly's over your crappy town, not drive through them'' I was beyond annoyed once again with Flash.
''Hey ma'am, he blipped so technically he's 16, not 21'' I smiled as she turned to Flash and took the alcoholic beverage right out of his hand.
''Hey what are you doing? I don't even know this girl'' Flash yelled in the distance. I smiled and turned around to smile at Peter. He smiled back in thanks. I continue down the aisle and find my seat. I was beyond grateful that it wasn't next to my best friend who would definitely talk my ear off the entire time.
~*~*~*~*
''I need your help to get me to sit next to Y/N'' Peter turned to Ned swiftly once he saw Brad make his way up to you, having a quick conversation before taking a seat in the row before.
''No, what about our plan? Bachelors in Europe'' Peter stares at Ned in disgust.
''That was your plan, not mine, mine's foolproof'' Ned rolls his eyes and sighs.
''Not entirely...'' Ned mumbles to himself but Peter just ignored him, glancing over at his best friend with puppy dog eyes.
''Alright fine'' Ned gets up and begins walking over to your row. I glance up and offer a smile, noticing Ned seemed a little on edge.
''Hey guys'' Jenny from beside me just nodded her head, not really interested in conversing.
''There's an old lady sitting in front of us and she's wearing like a crazy amount of perfume and it's setting off Peter's allergies, you know Jenny, if you could just switch places with Peter real quick-'' Ned was speaking so fast I almost didn't hear him.
''He's allergic to perfume?'' Jenny asked incredulously. Ned paused and looked deep in thought. My eyes scan his face, seeing if he was lying or not.
He definitely was.
''Yeah, yeah umm... it makes his eyes water'' Mr Harris turns around from in front of us and his eyes widen.
''You said Peter had a perfume allergy?'' Ned looked mortified as Mr Harris shot out of his seat real quick.
''Uhh...'' Ned stumbled.
''I know from experience that a perfume allergy is no joke!'' I tried to stifle a laugh as Mr Harris struggled to get his seat un-buckled as Peter rose in the distance.
''Y/N stand up'' I did as he said and rose as well.
''Y/N, you take my spot, Ned take Y/N's and Peter let's get you up here'' I sat down at my new seat and glanced beside me to see Brad already beaming. Great. However, what I failed to notice was how my best friend was sitting on the other side of him, sending me a glare. I glanced at her and just shrug my shoulders.
''Thanks for bringing this to my attention Ned, everyone's safety is mine and Mr Fitz top priority...'' He trailed off, glancing towards the already snoring teacher fast asleep.
''Well thank you, come on Peter!'' Peter look disgruntled as he grabbed his carry-on bag and followed Mr Harris reluctantly.
''I got a dual headphone adapter if you want to watch a movie?'' Brad asked me, catching me out of my thoughts. I turned to him and smiled.
''Only if it's depressing, or funny'' I joked. Brad laughed and smiled, reaching into his backpack. However just a few rows down from them Peter could hear the conversation perfectly thanks to his spider-senses.
He was completely and utterly guttered.

What’s your favorite thing about your top 10 Mcu movies? (Teamwork!)
Spider-Man: Homecoming - the movie that made me fall in love with the MCU! I loved Peter so much, I was 17 when the movie came out and he felt so relatable as a high school student with crushes and homework and all the teenage stuff I was dealing with. Plus Tom Holland was the perfect combo of Peter Parker and Spidey. My life has literally never been the same since I saw this movie!
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - objectively the best Marvel movie, don’t even fight me. Killer fucking score, amazing cinematography, compelling storyline, honestly just 10/10 all around. The only reason it’s not my top is because I love my spider baby just a tiny bit more than Steve
Spider-Man: Far From Home - again, my spider son steals my heart every time. I saw FFH 4 times in theaters bc I just absolutely adore Spidey and I couldn’t get enough of this movie. I was literally so hype for this movie, especially since it came right after Endgame and everything that happened during that movie. God and the angst in this movie just killed me, it hurt so much, and I was also anxious to see how they were going to handle the MCU post-snap and post-Endgame bc that would affect what would happen in TSB
Iron Man - the OG, baby, one of the first Marvel movies I ever saw, before I knew it was a whole universe of movies. It still holds up now and I love rewatching it and seeing Tony back when he didn’t seem like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. And of course I can’t forget my baby Maggie, none of TSB would have ever happened if it hadn’t been for that one time I was watching Iron Man and had this vivid image of Tony Stark’s daughter running toward him on the jet after Afghanistan
Avengers - man it’s so crazy, I remember Avengers being on Netflix way back when, and I watched it so many times because I just loved it so much, but I was only 12 or 13 and I had no idea it was part of a shared universe with like Iron Man and CA: The First Avenger (which I’d seen in theaters) or I would have been a Marvel fan for a lot longer. I don’t even know why I loved it so much, but I love it now because it’s the start of something really special and it’s honestly just so great
Avengers: Infinity War - dude my hype for this movie was through the roof, I was so excited for this movie even though I’d only just gotten into the MCU. I remember when one of the first trailers dropped during my 3rd period Music Theory class in senior year and I spent like all day watching it over and over again. The anticipation of all those heroes on screen together and seeing everyone together was just unparalleled. The ending literally killed me, but it also made me so excited for Endgame. Also funny story - I actually hadn’t seen all the MCU movies yet, so the week of Infinity War I watched 11 1/2 movies from Sunday to Thursday to prepare myself for the movie, and it is to date my greatest accomplishment in fandom
Captain Marvel - I was so excited for Captain Marvel because I was excited to see a movie with a female superhero who was the main focus, and it totally exceeded my expectations. Plus it was the first movie after Infinity War and I just knew one of the after-credits scenes would have something to do with Endgame and I had to know what was happening after the Snap
Guardians of the Galaxy - I rewatched this before Endgame and I forgot how goddamn hilarious it is, it’s a great Marvel movie to watch if you need a pick me up or a reason to laugh. Also Gamora is such a badass and I would die for baby Groot, so there’s that
Captain America: Civil War - part of me hates this movie because of the divisions it caused between the Avengers, but I also love it because of the angst and the drama. Not to mention the drama in TSB, that was very fun to explore when I was planning out Maggie’s story
Iron Man 3 - I was torn between IM2 and IM3 in this spot because they’re both solid movies imo, I know a lot of people hate 2 but from a writing perspective it’s interesting, at least to me. 3 edged out 2 for this spot because I loved how it showed Tony on his own without the suit and reminded the audience that Tony Stark is a force to be reckoned with inside and outside the suit
Wow that got really long lol, thanks for asking!!

I have just…so many problems with Irondad, some of which I’ve seen expressed already, some not, and I need to say this at least once.
I don’t believe the common anti-Irondad thing that says Tony never cared about Peter. He did, in his very Tony, very problematic way. He loves Peter, I think, very much the way Howard loved him. We only got glimpses of Howard as a dad, mostly from Tony’s perspective, but we can make assumptions here. Howard probably thought Tony was the greatest thing in the world, and a blast to hang out with. Whenever Howard wanted to be a dad. He would’ve loved teaching Tony things, showing him off, having fun with him. But when Howard didn’t want to hang out? When Howard was working on something important? No, sorry, dad mode off, go away, Maria come get him. We see that with Peter and Tony. All Peter wants is acceptance, another mission with Tony. He wants validation. But he can’t even reach Tony because Tony’s put Happy in charge of him, and Happy doesn’t want to deal with some stupid kid in Queens, at least during Homecoming. It’s a very Howard move, parenting/mentoring when it’s convenient.
Which, you know what? Not in and of itself horrible. Tony would learn what he lived, and follow it. It makes sense, generational patterns and all that. It could’ve led to an interesting story, about Peter or someone else in Tony’s life pointing out the parallels, and then Tony has a moment of realization and tries to correct. I wouldn’t have loved that story, because Peter’s storyline being so connected with Tony’s at the expense of his own has always bothered me, but it could’ve been done decently.
What do we get instead? We get Tony paying lip service in Homecoming to wanting to break the cycle, and then totally failing at that 5 minutes later. He was mad, he was scared, that’s legit. People say unfair things when they’re reacting out of fear. But he tears Peter down for what happened on the ferry, and makes him feel like shit. Why? Because Tony had the FBI involved, Peter was meant to stay away, and he didn’t. Well how the hell was Peter supposed to know that? He can’t talk to Tony at all. Happy’s been ghosting him for months. The last time he thought Tony was there for him, it was one of the suits, Tony was still off in Tony’s world. How would Peter ever think that Tony had heard him this time, and was taking action? Tony didn’t tell him as much. Happy didn’t. All either of them would need to do is send a text saying hey, I hear you, I’m on this, I have people on this. But Tony is Tony, he can’t tie his shoes without Pepper, and he has either a hyperfixated attention span, or none at all, depending on the day. He either forgot to tell Peter, or worse, didn’t think it necessary. And if he was a proper mentor, if he knew Peter at all, he would know that Peter’s sense of responsibility was going to kick in there, unless he had reason to believe things were going to be okay without him.
Tony doesn’t know Peter. He puts an instant kill function on a 15-year-old kid’s suit because he thinks it’s a cool feature, and he enjoys building cool things. If he knew Peter at all, Tony would know that Peter’s a no kill hero. You can argue that those advanced features weren’t meant to be hacked into, so it’s not Tony’s fault. Except it is. Tony admits in CW that he hacked the Pentagon in high school on a dare. He knows that genius boys do stupid things. He knows teenagers don’t follow rules. He knows that if you tell a kid not to do a thing, you’re just guaranteeing he’ll want to do it more now. Tony may not know exactly how smart Peter is (I’m sure he doesn’t), but he has enough of an idea that safety measures, actual measures, should’ve been in place. Instead of a hackable training wheels protocol? Just keep those features off his first suit, save them for the next model, when the kid’s ready. We know Tony doesn’t mind building new models of suits. But Tony doesn’t do that, because Tony.
Yeah, the instant kill came in handy in Endgame against Thanos’s army. Still doesn’t make it okay.
Again, it reeks of Howard style parenting. You didn’t use this awesome thing I gave you right? Here then, I’m taking it away. No talks, no explanations or compromise or Tony training Peter to avoid the mistakes he so wants Peter to avoid, just, we’re done. Which is exactly how Howard probably would’ve handled it. I let you in my lab once and you broke something you didn’t know how to use? Okay, well, never doing that again.
To be clear, I don’t blame Tony for yanking the suit, exactly. It was a very human, kneejerk reaction. And more importantly, it allowed Peter to show that he did not need Tony’s toys to be a hero. The problem is that Tony, as usual, never gets to realize his mistakes. Peter yells at him a little right before the suit gets taken about not being listened to, but Tony doesn’t retain any of it. It doesn’t matter. He never has a moment of, what I did here was not okay and this is why. What do we get instead? Him telling Peter at the end of Homecoming how Peter screwed up, but hey, you fixed it. You were dumb, but you fixed it. No acknowledgement that Tony screwed up anything. Because, of course not. The lesson for Tony isn’t hey, I went too fast with this kid, he wasn’t ready, I didn’t prepare him. There is no lesson. Tony, as in basically every appearance since Iron Man 3, learns nothing.
Oh, and the Homecoming ending. Yeah. Tony sees no problem with having a 15-year-old move into the mansion and go full-time Avenger. His aunt, his guardian? Nah, why would she mind that, it’s fine.
I’ve talked elsewhere about my problems with Infinity War Irondad, but basically, most of Tony’s interaction with Peter there involves telling him to shut up, the grownups are talking, you’re not supposed to be here, you’re too young and dumb. Even when Peter absolutely helps the team. Also, too young and dumb? He wasn’t 5 minutes ago, when you were going to make him an Avenger, and he was the one smart enough to realize this was a bad idea. Tony’s so mad Peter didn’t listen to him and go home. If he’d truly listened, he’d have been an Avenger at the start of the film, so he’d be there anyway.
The dusting scene with him and Peter? It hurt. It was brutal and beautiful. That’s because Tom Holland, and yes, RDJ, can act, not because it was earned by the narrative of the last three movies.
As for Endgame. That photo Tony has of him and Peter goofing off. So cute, right? Probably taken at some point before May knew the truth, as a hey, we need a cover story for your aunt, but, you know, it’s fine. I don’t doubt Tony loved Peter. That he grieved Peter and felt his loss for 5 years, and maybe that’s part of why he’s such a good dad to Morgan. But he didn’t love Peter the right way. He did it selectively. He missed him when he was gone, but didn’t pay enough attention when he was alive. The hug near the end was beautiful, but unearned.
And then there’s May and Ben. May does not deserve to be villainized, killed off, or flat-out ignored the way she is in so many fanon interpretations just so Irondad can be a thing. May helped Peter prepare for his homecoming dance last minute. She got him dressed, taught him how to tie a tie, taught him to dance. All while Tony was back to ignoring him. But assume for a second that this had happened earlier, when Peter was still technically in Tony’s good books. Assume for a second that he’d been able to reach Tony and ask for advice, because he’s scared and excited and needs help. Tony would’ve made a few jokes about spiked punch, a few more crude, sexist jokes about Peter’s date, and signed off. May dropped everything and spent hours helping this kid, reassuring him. May is so unappreciated and flat-out abused by some of the fanbase, and it’s gross.
And Ben. Who’s Ben? Have we even heard his name in any of the movies Peter’s appeared in yet? Oh, we got his initials on a suitcase in FFH, not even a verbal acknowledgement. Great. I am not advocating an origin story. We’ve seen it, we know the basics, it’s fine. But Ben has been shown, for almost 60 years, to be the most influential person in Peter’s life. Losing Ben the way he did shaped Peter’s whole life afterward. And we have yet to see a photo? An old video? A 30 second flashback scene? We don’t know any of the MCU’s version of how Ben was killed. At all. Are they for some reason going with a rewrite where Peter had nothing to do with it? Don’t know, because it’s been 5 movies so far and they’ve given us nothing. Ben’s death regularly tops lists of the most influential deaths in comics, and we have nothing. Instead we get scene after scene of Tony perpetuating a dysfunctional relationship with Peter, and never facing consequences, or even realizing it.
By the way? Ben, if he’s anything like any canon version ever, would hate Tony. Ben is consistently shown before his death to be a very hands-on parent. He doesn’t understand most of Peter’s science stuff, but he encourages it, and stays involved as much as he can. He, barring a truly monumental canon rewrite that we know nothing about if it happened, taught Peter that great power means great responsibility. Contrast this with Tony, who as stated, pays more attention to building Peter cool suits than he does Peter. Who, on being confronted by a mother about the death of her son, caused by him, does what? Immediately wants to shift all responsibility to the government, so that the next time he screws up, he can say he was just following the law. Who was confronted by a grieving mother, and then 5 minutes later came into May Parker’s home and lied to her face. Something he continued to do, and would’ve continued, if May hadn’t found the truth on her own. He lies to her, takes her underage son (yes I’m saying son because she and Ben raised that boy, not Tony) out of the country without her knowledge. He threatened to reveal Peter’s identity to get him there. He does not tell Peter that the Accords would’ve done that anyway. He doesn’t tell Peter much of anything about why he’s there or what he’s fighting for. Either because he knows that telling the truth means not having Peter on his side, or because he simply doesn’t care to. Either way is gross, manipulative, disgusting, and would have Ben Parker rolling in his grave.
Yeah, it was fun having Peter in CW. Some of his scenes with Tony are genuinely fun. The above points though? Still stand.
So yeah, Irondad. in theory, okay. It makes sense that Peter would want guidance, a mentor after Ben died. It makes sense he’d look up to Tony. They could have addressed Howard’s shitty parenting via Tony’s shitty parenting, and maybe told an interesting story with it by contrasting Tony’s parenting style to Ben’s. Irondad in actual canon? There’s no parenting. There’s child endangerment, verbal abuse, and no payoff to any of it. The most we get is Happy admitting in FFH that Tony was a mess, but not for all the right reasons. He gets called out for other things, if you can even say he’s called out. Not for his awful treatment of an impressionable minor who’d lost his real father (Ben, assuming they stick with comics and have Peter lose his parents at a very young age).
I will never stop saying that Peter deserved better. I hope he gets it now that Tony’s gone.

Disneyland || Tom Holland
a/n: i have another imagine in mind but not sure how to start it. but i’ve had this one in my mind for like a year and @ashisbaeee & @mlt2000 , without knowing, helped me get out of my writers block so this one is for you ladies <3 btw i’ve never been to disneyland so if anything is remotely off, i’m so sorry! and holy shit i did not expect this to be this long
summary: You’ve been talking about going to Disneyland for a while now and no one would go with you except for Tom. The normal day turns into a semi date.
You were so excited to be a part of the Spider-man ffh cast and the press tour was your favorite part. You traveled to places you never thought you’d visit and some even became your favorite places. You were really excited to be heading to LA though because you realized you guys would have a day off and you were really hoping to visit Disneyland! You’ve only been to Disney World so you thought it’d be a good change of scenery for you.
Tom, Zendaya, Jacob, Jake and you all just got done the last interview of the day and were slightly tired. You all headed back to your hotel, got changed and showered and collectively decided to just hang out in your room for the rest of the night. Jake decided to just go to sleep though because he was that tired.
Once you finished your shower, you texted them in the group chat and told them they could come to the room. About 5 minutes later, you heard a knock on the door. You thought it was going to be all three of them but just Tom was standing there. “Hey! Where’s Z and Jacob?” you asked, but you honestly didn’t mind that it was just Tom. You had a major crush on him but you figured he would just reject you so you just kept your feelings to yourself. He gave you a hurt puppy dog face and said “Wow I guess I’m not enough!” you both laughed but he told you they’d be there soon. You left the latch open on the door so that Jacob and Zendaya could just walk in
He walked in and immediately just laid down on your bed. You had a room with two beds so you didn’t mind. You started walking to the other bed and Tom looked at you confused. “What the fuck, you're just gonna leave me here by myself?” You and Tom cuddled before so it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. You laughed and walked over to your bed and laid down next to Tom. He placed his arm over your stomach and you used your nails to scratch his arm softly and your other hand to play with his hair. He loved when you did that.
Two minutes after you guys laid down, you heard the door open and Jacob and Zendaya walked in. They’ve seen you and Tom cuddle before so you didn’t think they’d feel weird about it but when they saw you, they just stared with smirks. “Didn’t mean to interupt anything .” Jacob said. You flipped them off and Tom called Jacob a dick. They laughed and went to the other bed.
You hesitated before speaking but decided to finally speak up. “So guys i have an idea for tomorrow. I think we should all go to Disneyland! It’d be so much fun and I’ve never been!” Zendaya took a bit to answer “Count me out, I’m gonna just relax all day.” “Yeah me too, I’m so tired.” Jacob said. You thought you were about to be alone until Tom spoke “I’m in, sounds like it’d be fun.” You were shocked and happy at the same time. “Really you’ll go with me?” You said excitedly. Tom nodded and you hugged him so fast and so tight that he started to laugh. Zendaya laughed “Should we leave you guys alone?” You let go of Tom and said “Actually you all should leave me alone, I wanna go to bed.” They all got up and went to their rooms and right before you fell asleep Tom texted you “Can’t wait for tomorrow (:” you smiled at your phone just thinking about the fact that you would have alone time with Tom in the happiest place on Earth. “Me too(: now get some sleep, I’m waking you up early tomorrow(;” You texted back. You immediately put your phone down and instantly fell asleep.
Your alarm went off at 7 am and you almost hit the snooze button but shot up so fast when you remembered today you were going to Disneyland. You texted Tom to make sure he was awake and quickly got in the shower. You decided to wear a simple Mickey shirt and shorts paired with your rose gold ears. As soon as you got out, you checked your phone and were thankful to see a text from Tom that read “just got out of the shower, i’ll be at your room in 5 minutes.” as soon as you read it, you heard a knock on the door. It was Tom and you weren’t close to being ready. “Fuck, I’m coming.” you opened the door and he scolded you for not being ready. “Calm down just give me 10 minutes.” you smiled. He walked in and sat down on your bed. All you had to do left was fix your hair and do a little makeup. You were doing your makeup in the bathroom and as you finished, Tom walked in and looked at you. You could tell he wanted to say something so you just looked at him and said “What?” He smiled at you with that amazing smile that just gets you every time. “You know you don’t need makeup, you’re beautiful without it.” You smiled, not expecting that at all. “Thanks but it’s a little late for that I just got done. Let’s get going.” With that he stepped aside so you can get out of the bathroom. You grabbed your ears and made your way out of the door with Tom followng closely behind.
You guys decided to uber. It was just easier. In the uber, you guys discussed what fast passes to get and where to eat. You settled on getting fast passes for Peter Pan’s Flight, Splash Mountain and Space Mountain and decided to make reservations at Blue Bayou. You were too excited and Tom could tell, but he thought it was adorable. When you guys pulled up, your excitement came out so much more and Tom just laughed. You guys bought your tickets ahead of time so it was a real time saver. Once you got in you were in aw and Tom just watched and took a picture of you without you knowing. You couldn’t believe you were finally there! “Lets get our fast passes now and hit some rides!” You grabbed Tom’s hand and walked quickly to get your fast passes. They were all separated which gave you enough time to do rides in between. The first thing you wanted to do was the Matterhorn Bobsleds seeing as you’ve never been on it. Tom complied and you walked in that direction. Along the way of course were fans who were dying to get pictures with you guys and you agreed but after a little you both decided to just stick to getting to rides. You of course said hi to fans but didn’t take any pictures because you wanted to get as much in as possible.
As the day went by, you two were havng a blast and you didn’t think it was possible but you started liking Tom so much more. During lunch and while waiting in lines, you guys got really in depth with each other and you both shared things with each other that no one else knew. There were a few times when you were walking that your hands brushed up against each other, but you thought nothing of it. You guys were waiting in line for Haunted Mansion when you noticed it was already 8:15 so you figured you’d go get a good spot after you got off the ride for the fireworks. You yawned a little and Tom noticed. “You tired?” You hesitated before answering because you didn’t want to admit you were actually getting tired but you finally nodded. He patted on his chest, signaling for you to put your head there if you wanted, it was something you guys would often do on set. You walked over to him, wrapped your arms around his waist and rested your head. He had one arm around your waist and one playing with your hair.
You started to drift off until it was your guys turn to get on the ride. You guys entered the little room that was in the beginning of the ride. As soon as you found a place to stand, Tom stood behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist. This was something you weren’t used to but you also didn’t mind it. You rested your head on his chest and placed your hands over his. He opened his hands so that you guys could start holding hands. No one was taking pictures of you guys so you were taking full advantage of the situation. The narrator started speaking on the ride and suddenly so did Tom. “I have one more thing I want to tell you that no one knows.” He whispered. You were looking at the portraits in the room but you suddenly gave Tom your full attention. “Of course there’s always my way...” said the narrator. Tom leaned in to kiss you right as the lights went off for that split second, but to you it felt like forever. When he pulled away, he smiled down at you and finally said it. “I really like you. I’ve been keeping that from you since the day I met you. I’m sorry I shouldn’t have kissed you without telling you first it’s just that--” you placed your hand behind his head and kissed him again. He was shocked at first but went with it. This time the kiss lasted for like 30 seconds. When you pulled away, you smiled at him and spoke, “I like you too dummy, and have since the day we first met on set as well. I can’t believe we both waited that long.” You both laughed before you were both ushered out of the room to go towards the ride. When you got on, he immediately put his arm around you and put a finger under your chin so that you were facing him and you guys made out for a good amount of the ride. When you guys got off the ride Tom pulled his phone out and you noticed you were his background. It was the pic he took of you earlier. “When did you make that your background?” you said with a slight chuckle. “Right after I took it. I needed a beautiful background and this one fits the description.” You smiled and kissed him with so much passion you could barely breathe. Safe to say Haunted Mansion was your new favorite Disney ride and that your first Disneyland visit was the best day and not your last Disney day with Tom, or any day for that matter.

twelve months || p.p
↬ pairing(s): Peter Parker x adopted Stark!reader
↬ genre/warnings: angst/comfort fic, PTSD, anxiety & depression, mentions of death, post Endgame (that’s a warning in itself tbh)
↬ word count: 1.3k
↬ synopsis: twelve months have passed since Earth lost her best defender, and it hits some harder than others.
↬ a/n: this is my piece for @blissfulparker’s writing challenge w the prompt “You’re hurting can’t you see?” & again, congrats on 5K bb!! <3 also, I’m a noob idk how to put a ‘read more’ option on mobile sorry (edit: I wrote this before ffh came out so idk what tf I’m taking about)
Twelve months. Already it’s been a year living in a world without Tony Stark.
An arrangement was made where you lived with Aunt May during the fall, winter, and spring so you could attend school with Peter and Ned. During the off-season you lived with Pepper and Morgan, but during the year you visited at least twice a month. The visits were always short, and nobody but Morgan had the fight in them to complain.
Being obsessively grateful had become the new trend.
It was a month after Tony’s death when Peter was professionally diagnosed with survivor’s trauma, a subtype of PTSD accompanied by anxiety and acute depression. His symptoms had appeared only a day after Thanos’ defeat. Peter confessed his feelings to Aunt May after one specific night where his nightmare had been so horrific it woke you up out of your sleep and you had to coddle him while he cried into your shirt.
Five months after that Peter mostly recovered. His daily scheduled appointments with his therapist became weekly, and eventually he assured everybody he didn’t need them anymore. We all believed him, and rightfully so. Peter was at peace.
It was around that same time that Peter started to tag along on your monthly visits to see Pepper and Morgan. You, Pepper, Happy, and Rhodey would catch up, seek comfort in one another while Peter and Morgan would swap the best stories about Iron Man. Harley came around sometimes, too, sharing his own tales about the Mechanic.
Even after Peter’s recovery, Ned wasn’t enthusiastic about Spider-Man anymore. You didn’t undergo the same therapy and depressive episodes like Peter had, and still Ned didn’t probe you for details. He wasn’t as enthusiastic as he used to be about superheroes. Nobody mentioned it.
Flash didn’t join the dusted the five years ago when Thanos first snapped his fingers. He graduated at the top of his class and got accepted into one of the best colleges in the country. The week you Peter and Ned returned back to school after things had settled, Flash paid Midtown a visit. The five years had done his personality justice. Flash apologized for his bullying that he claimed manifested from underlying jealousy, and offered his condolences. You all accepted it and moved on.
Seven months after Tony’s death and things began to change. You and Peter spent time alone, but now you did it with each other. The patches in your relationship were being sewn back together, each stitch binding strong. You held hands, shared beds, your hugs were longer. Your kisses were short and sweet, and other times they were needy and passionate. Aunt May loved the idea of you two being together, there for one another in a way she couldn’t be, but she never pushed it onto you guys, and you loved that about her.
Twelve months. Already a year has come and gone living behind a mask crafted of lies. You’re not okay. A year has passed and the absence of Tony Stark in your life is crippling. Your strong front was waning.
“Your lies aren’t working anymore,” Peter says softly from next to you in bed. He knows you’re not asleep yet, but you give him silence in reply. He continues anyway. “I hear you up at night because you can’t sleep, and I know when we visit Pepper and you leave the room it’s to go sit in his shop.”
You can already feel the muscles in your chest tighten at his words, the urge to cry amplifying. You swallowed back the lump in your throat and pulled the blanket up to your chin. “Please, don’t worry about me, you need your peace of mind.” you tell him as you force your eyes shut.
“And you don’t?” he quipped, and a bright light shines behind your eyelids as he switches a lamp on. “You’re hurting can’t you see? You haven’t even cried. Not since that day.”
You open your eyes and turn over in the bed to face him. You can tell he’s trying not to cry, trying to give you the opportunity to be the vulnerable one.
“Hey, talk to me.” his voice is soft and low, yet demanding. “Are you okay?”
There’s no worse question to ask a person when something’s gone completely sideways in their life than if they’re okay.
Tony was more than a teammate, a co-worker, or a friend and Peter knew this. You found a home in Tony, and without him it’s like the walls have come crashing down and the floors have caved in on you. The act of pretending like he didn’t leave and take the best part of you with him was draining.
You sat up in the bed, eyes narrowed to slits as you asked him, “can you be okay in this situation?”
He’s entirely stunned by the forward response, and at an utter loss of words.
“It never stops hurting. You never get used to the pain, you just make room for it. It will never be okay.”
Peter opens his mouth to speak, but ultimately decides against it. You give him another chance to say something, anything, and still he stares in silence.
You laid back down in the bed, your back to him. “Good night, Peter.”
“No, we’re going to talk about this.” he protested, a real bitterness in his tone that drove you up the wall.
In a fraction of a second you’re sat up in the bed on your knees. “What is there to talk about?!” you wailed, gesticulating wildly. There was no thought given to how it was well past one in the morning, or that May was sound asleep just down the hall. There was no thought at all, and the words that sounded out were nothing but raw emotion. “Bad things happen! You can’t change and you can’t predict them!”
“You’re right, you can’t change what happened, but you can change how you react to it!” he yelled just as loud, now standing bedside.
“Learn that in therapy?” you retorted, and regretted it the instant the words left your mouth. You dropped your head in shame. “I’m sorry.”
Peter sighed sadly. “It’s okay.”
“No it’s not,” you shook your head, “I don’t care how angry I am, I never want to use that against you. I’m sorry for being unreasonable. You’re just trying to help.”
“I am,” he agreed, sitting halfway on the bed beside you. “I just hate seeing you so miserable. You’re good at hiding it, and it took me awhile to see it past my own hurt, but I know you. You’re unhappy.”
The hurt becomes more evident on your face throughout Peter’s consoling until your eyes are glimmering with watery tears. You swipe them away, but they return instantly, and it’s so out of character for you to be crying that you don’t know how to control or stop it. His eyes soften for a moment as he watches you, and he can’t stop himself from visibly frowning.
Peter grabbed your wrists allowing unchecked tears to slide down your cheeks and dribble off your chin. “Hey,” he said softly, calmingly, “you know, over time you start to realize it’s okay to admit things aren’t okay. Your feelings are valid; you don’t always have to be the strong one.”
And just like that the floodgates opened. The cries were hysterical, sobs only being interrupted by the need for breath. Emotional pain seeped from every pore as tears burst forth like water from a dam.
Peter engulfed you in his arms as he said, “I want us to take steps so that you don’t feel like you have to isolate your feelings. The last thing I want is for you to feel like you can’t talk to me.” he pressed a kiss to the crown of your head, coddling you like you’d done for him all those months ago.
Twelve months. Already it’s been a year living in a world without Tony Stark. Peter’s comforting embrace as you cried into his shirt granted you freedom of the pain, and for the first time in twelve months you didn’t feel completely alone.
“I’m right here, and you don’t need to hurt when I’m here.”

I know for questions, you're probably talking about Far From Home, but what about William, the fish guy? What was he like in the early days of character development? How has he changed since you first thought of him? And I guess, same question for the FFH folks. Thanks in advance.
I was honestly so excited to receive this question because I LOVE my boy William! Plus it’s fun to talk about character origin stories.
Buckle up. This is gonna be a long answer.
Up until 2014 my art largely consisted of fanart or fan characters, so I had never produced content that was truly original. During spring of that year, I stumbled upon and quickly become enamored with some original characters on deviantart, many of which were ‘monsters’ (vampires, mermaids, werewolves, etc.). Seeing these characters inspired me to create my own story with characters that catered to my own interests.
William is the first original character I ever created, so he has a special place in my heart. This is my very fist sketch of him! (Sorry for the low quality.)
My initial idea for his story was disorganized and had a lot of missing pieces. In the early days of character development, William was nothing more than a character I liked for his design and personality. I had very little experience with character creation, so I put a lot of myself into him. He was shy and timid and anxious at times, but he also had low self-esteem and didn’t feel like he fit in anywhere. And for good reason — his backstory was one of confusion and grief. Originally, he was an orphan that had been kidnapped by scientists and genetically modified to resemble a fish, all while retaining his previous characteristics and a humanoid shape. The scientists raised him and were training him for some unknown task, of which I never decided before changing the direction of the story entirely.
William and his story turned six during March of this year, and both have changed A LOT since then! He’s no longer a chemist, nor does he have any experience in the sciences. I also gave him some glasses and a nice argyle sweater (which now serves as his classic look, haha), and I’ve decided he’s of Asian descent for reasons explained in a few paragraphs. Not only have I refined his story to be more practical and understandable, but I’ve also given William a purpose, something to pursue. He’s still anxious and feels like he doesn’t belong, but he doesn’t stay that way forever.
I always liked stories about monsters, in the sense that something not-quite-human longs for a place among normal people. Society views these ‘monsters’ as unnatural or potentially dangerous, and yet the monster displays more humanity than the humans themselves. I really want to lean into that idea as I tell William’s story. He may not be your typical monster, but he certainly feels like one. Different, unnatural, out of place. Yet he has a kind heart and a childlike fascination with the world. The road is difficult, but with a bit of help he eventually finds his niche.
Here’s my most recent sketch for comparison, and a lovely depiction of William by my pal HareSoup!
Besides the few changes mentioned above, Will hasn’t changed much design-wise. He has fins in place of ears, gills on his neck, scales scattered across his face/trunk/limbs, and a bit of webbing between his fingers/toes. He can breathe underwater and on land, but his scales and gills have to receive moisture every 1-2 hours or he’ll develop health issues/fall ill.
I don’t remember when I decided I wanted to write a full-length book telling Will’s story, but it’s still a goal of mine! To give you a brief synopsis of the current story, now titled “Fish Out of Water”, it takes place some years after the signing of the Conventional Forces in Europe treaty, which officially brought the Arms Race to an end. During the Arms Race, nuclear weapons were tested without concern for radiation and the effects it had on nearby civilians. In one particular scenario, Asian civilians were evacuated from a small town-turned nuclear test site, but they were not properly protected. The offspring of these civilians developed unnatural deformities/features, such as extra limbs or feathers, as a result of exposure to unhealthy levels of radiation. Worried that this development would mortify the public, the government hid the children in a science facility stationed in a secluded part of the ocean, and they remained within its walls for years. After 28 years, William escapes the facility with the help of his guilt-ridden caretaker and is found unconscious on the shore of a coastal city by marine biologist Martha Collins. The story follows Will as he attempts to shake his government pursuers, but it’s really a story about friendship, self-worth, and discovering what it truly means to be human.
Though unfinished, William’s story is very special to me, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with the world someday :>
As for the Far From Home folks, they came from simple beginnings. It all started with a sketch — this one to be exact!
Back in the spring of 2017, I was stressed and tired and frustrated with school, so I thought it’d be fun to create some new characters. Specifically, comfort characters that fit my favorite tropes. I took a lot of inspiration from the movies “Ernest & Celestine” and “You Are Umasou” when it came to personalities and character dynamics. I loved the idea of a tough, grumpy man who is completely unqualified to be a father stumbling upon and eventually adopting a small, bright-eyed child. There’s just so much you can do with that concept!
I specifically remember sitting in the library at school and just…drawing. I had no initial designs in mind besides something big and sharp, and something small and soft. Two opposites that would become a makeshift family.
I liked the designs enough to digitalize them, reworking aspects of their designs in the process. This was the first ‘accurate’ drawing of Baz and Toko. (I don’t like it too much anymore, but it’s a good color reference!)
I never like leaving a character without a story, so I eventually came up with a couple ideas that adequately described their relationship. In fact, my first idea presented Toko as some sort of child princess and Baz as her assigned bodyguard! That one obviously didn’t stick, but it did allow me to gain a better understanding of what I wanted.
Over time, I did a bit of world building and expanded upon the FFH universe, which opened and closed doors for potential storylines. I realized I wanted to add more characters too, leading to the creation of Gerdie and some other important figures. Gerdie looked quite a bit different than he does now — in fact, he was originally supposed to be an android! I played around with that idea for a while before eventually discarding it.
Here’s my most recent size chart featuring all three main characters!
I honestly never expected Far From Home to expand beyond a simple idea, and yet here I am, thinking I can turn the story into a trilogy someday. There’s still a lot of work to do if I want to reach that goal, but I genuinely enjoy these characters and their dynamic is really fun! They’ve grown very dear to me over the past three years. So I think that’s reason enough to try, anyway.
To give a bit of background on the story itself, it’s set in a fictional version of outer space where humans don’t exist. Intelligent, technologically-advanced aliens from neighboring planets/galaxies have established contact with one another, leading to the gradual formation of an intergalactic government and melting pot mega-society. Due to the unforeseen complexity of this endeavor, strict rules were put in place to regulate the selling/purchasing of certain goods and services, transportation between galaxies, and other related activities. This system is not without complications.
Baz and Gerdie work as intergalactic merchants, but that’s just a cover for their job as smugglers. Together, they travel to different galaxies and exchange goods for the designated currency, as well as deliver illegal substances to specific planets. Baz is the captain and pilots the ship while Gerdie is an engineer and works as the mechanic. They’ve known each other for quite some time when the story first begins. Baz has quite the interesting history, much of which ties into important aspects of the story.
Toko is a young alien who gets separated from her family and wakes up in the storage unit of Baz’s ship, with no memory of how she got there. Baz finds her and suspects she’s a thief, but she quickly explains her predicament and asks that he help reunite her with her family. Baz is reluctant at first and denies her request, only to discover there’s more to her story than he originally thought. Unintentionally dragging Baz into a frightening adventure full of old friends and all-too-familiar foes, Toko eventually inspires a change of heart in the smuggler. The story explores themes like forgiveness, what it really means to be good/bad, and the idea that family isn’t defined by blood.
I know that was a lot, but I hope it was at least somewhat interesting! Thanks for asking about my characters and sticking with me through this <3

I was wondering if I'm the only one who gets irritated when certain articles or movie reviewers on YT refer to Tony and Peter's relationship as one of "mentor and mentee"? While this is true, I feel like addressing them as mentor & mentee makes their relationship solely professional. Like, all Tony cares about is Spiderman and training him to be a better superhero. I get really angry when people interpret things like that and eliminate the personal connection between them. (1)
(2) Some also interpret Happy's words in FFH "Tony wouldn't have done what he did if he didn't know that you're going to be here after he was gone" as if Tony wanted to make sure that Spiderman was alive, so there will be someone to keep the world safe and continue his legacy as a superhero. Again, there is truth in this but I doubt Tony cared about Spiderman when he invented time travel. To me, he wanted to bring back Peter and for no other reason but because he loved him as a son.
(3) Could you please elaborate on this and point out why Tony and Peter shared more of a father/son relationship rather than purely teacher/student one. I love that in a recent post you talked about how Peter's goodbye to Tony was not the typical mentee goodbye. I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on this because to me, Peter was clearly saying goodbye to a father figure. He was almost begging him to hold on, to not leave them, etc. Thank you in advance!
Hi!
I know what you mean, I hate it when they do that too.
Before this, we need to see the difference between the three concepts Peter means to Tony:
1. Mentee: is a person who is being mentored.
(’What we discussed. Keep your distance. Web 'em up.’)
(’Stay close to the ground. Build up your game helping little people, like that lady that bought you the churro.’)
(’Don’t do anything I would do, and definitely don’t do anything I wouldn’t do. There’s a... There’s a little grey area in there, and that’s where you operate.’)
Haha, even at this stage Tony congratulated Peter like three times the same day lmao
Peter Parker: Hey, everyone.Tony Stark: . . . Good job.
Tony Stark: Nice job, kid.Peter Parker: Thanks.
Peter Parker: What?Tony Stark: You did a good job. Stay down.
Tony Stark: I wanted to tell you what an incredible job your nephew did this weekend at the Stark internship retreat. Everyone was impressed.
The pattern of telling Peter that he did a great job constantly is something Tony wanted from his father and from there, you can tell he’s already entering the parental territory even if he was just the mentor at that time.
Protegé: is a person guided and protected by a more prominent person, their relationship is mutual.
(’I did listen, kid. Who do you think called the FBI, huh? Do you know that I was the only one who believed in you?’)
(’it’s never too early to start thinking about college. I got some pull at MIT.’)
(’You know what? He actually made a really mature choice. It just surprised the heck out of us.’)
Son-figure/Pseudo-son: one who can identify on a deeply psychological level and who generates emotions generally felt towards one's father. A person who looks up to someone older and treats them like a father.
(’What if somebody had died tonight? Different story, right? ‘Cause that’s on you. And if you died, I feel like that’s on me.’)
(’I wanted you to be better.’ ‘Pete, you gotta let go. I'm gonna catch you.’)
(’My dad never really gave me a lot of support... And I’m just trying to break the cycle of shame.’)
(’But it was such a long way down and I just thought about you on the way...’)
Peter Parker: Hey, man. What's up, Mr. Stark?Tony Stark: Kid, where'd you come from?Peter Parker: Field trip to MoMA.
Peter is all of the above. He went through those with Tony and their relationship developed into father-son territory.
For me, it’s easy to tell that they have a father-son relationship by just looking at the same scene you mentioned; Tony’s death.
Think about it, Pepper has been in Tony’s life for around 10 years and Rhodey has been in his life since he was 15 and the fact that Peter is within the circle of people to say goodbye to him personally means a lot. The directors picked Peter, Pepper, and Rhodey to create an emotional goodbye to Tony, with the people who are closest to him. Peter is one of them, I don’t think a simple mentee would get that privilege. If Peter was just the mentee in Tony’s life he would’ve gotten this type of goodbye:
Far away and keeping distance. But Peter got the close contact, Rhodey even gave Peter time with Tony and Pepper even helped Peter up. That looks like a family dynamic.
I don’t if you read my comparison between Harley and Peter but if Peter was playing only the mentee part he would’ve been in Harley’s position. Tony and Harley probably kept contact through text messages and emails. He was invited to the funeral and stood very far away from Tony’s inner circle. Harley could’ve easily gotten an internship just like Peter since the kid is also smart and Tony could’ve said something about him in the movies but not once was this kid mentioned. This is because Harley is more like a ‘part-of-the-legacy’ kid of the generation that Tony appreciates than a pseudo-son.
A simple mentee wouldn’t get the treatment Peter got:
I think some people really think EDITH is just a normal A.I. or some pair of technological glasses lol no. EDITH can and is:
Tony’s security and defense system.
Tony’s most powerful artificial tactical intelligence.
Gives access to Stark Industries' global satellite network. The entire Stark global security network.
Stark Industries’ arsenal of missiles and drones.
Back door to all major telecommunication networks.
Capable of hacking into nearly any computerized device.
Is programmed to have Peter Parker as the only authorized user.
Stark Industries' weaponry.
Is the user interface to the entire Stark Industries network.
Tony basically gave him his legacy and his company there. A mentee wouldn’t get that responsibility. Why not give the glasses to Rhodey; an officer with the United States Air Force and liaison between the military in the Department of Acquisitions and Stark Industries; an actual aerospace engineer and Tony’s best friend? Why not leave that to Pepper; the CEO of his company and wife? Or Happy, his head of security and one of his best friends? In terms of the company, Peter now has almost the same power as Pepper. Almost.
He gave that to Peter because he trusted him and loved him as a son, someone worthy of carrying his legacy.
Many wanted Tony to leave Peter money or something fancy, but the truth is, what’s really more important and personal than a man’s entire legacy and trust? Nothing. Not even money. Also, who’s to say he didn’t leave money too? We’ll find out in the next movie, who knows, maybe he left something else too.
Let’s also remember EDITH wasn’t just a pair of glasses before, she was just like JARVIS or FRIDAY but Tony decided to upload her system in the glasses.
More proof of this is Peter being able to call Happy and ask him to go to an entirely different continent to pick him up in a private jet where Happy not only helps Peter with his injuries and lets Peter use Tony’s technology like nobody’s business but also assures him that Tony did everything he did in Endgame for him. This is not the treatment a mentee gets.
Even in Ant-Man, Hank Pym gave his protegé Darren great power in their relationship because and I quote: ‘I thought I saw something in him, a son I never had perhaps.’
Even if their stories are different, Pym mentions he saw a lot of himself
Darren Cross:All those years ago, you picked me. What did you see in me?
Hank Pym:I saw myself.
Darren Cross:Then why did you push me away?
Hank Pym:Because I saw too much of myself.
Some mentees and protegés are meant to evolve into something more and this is what happened with Tony and Peter. I don’t think they thought their relationship would get to the point it got but it did.
Directors, producers, actors, and actresses have said it before and the only ones who can’t accept the fact are either tony antis, comic book super fans or fans of the first spiderman movies. Other people can clearly see their relationship for what it is.
There’s one thing I really hated before FFH came out, actually even before Endgame came out; many were already replacing Tony as Peter’s father figure and were guessing who was going to be the next one in line. They were nominating Doctor Strange, Happy or Fury as if being a father figure is something superficial and exchangeable. And you want to know why they were already replacing him? Nope, it’s not because Tony was going to die, at that time nobody knew that, it’s because it was stated before that RDJ was not going to participate in FFH. That’s the only reason. I get it, Peter had two father figures and he lost his biological dad but that doesn’t mean Peter sees every single male out there as a father figure, sure he can get attached because he’s a kid but he doesn’t love them the way he loved/loves Ben and Tony.
Thnx!♥
I also know I have other asks in my inbox and I promise I’ll get to them as soon as possible.

I’ll Love You Too Tomorrow
Pairings: Peter Parker/Michelle Jones (mention of Ned Leeds/Betty Brant) Rating: M (really just for strong language idk) Word Count: 2330 Prompt: College AU (Spideychelle Month Week 1 - Day 3) Summary: After two months without seeing Peter, and minimal contact, MJ refuses to become the “crazy girlfriend,” no matter how upset she is. Betty’s party invite seems like the perfect opportunity to forget about him for the night.
I know this is a day late, but it’s longer than I expected it to be. I thought I was going to do an actual college au where they’re first meeting, but this is pretty canon compliant after FFH with Peter and MJ having been dating since then :’)
AO3
It took two and a half years and many pep talks in the mirror, but Betty finally summoned the courage—or the stupidity—to use her fake ID.
Unlike MJ, who refused to let the college scene affect her in any way whatsoever, Betty saw it as an opportunity to reinvent herself, to start over. From what, she wasn’t so sure. Being the perfectionist she was, she took it upon herself to order self-care journals, watch inspirational TED talks on YouTube, and read articles about how a new haircut is the start to a new you—all before move-in day.
Although she couldn’t bring herself to get more than a trim, MJ was impressed with the “new Betty.” No more plaid skirts and cardigans. Now she exclusively wore ripped jeans and tank tops. It was edgy enough for Betty, and she seemed comfortable with herself, so who was MJ to judge?
What MJ couldn’t get behind, however, was the excessive partying. She never judged anyone for how they liked to have fun. In fact, MJ often enjoyed herself when Betty dragged her along, but only if she was drinking, which she only did to avoid standing awkwardly in a corner and wishing she never came in the first place.
Betty was far from being an alcoholic, but on more than one occasion in the three months they had been at Yale, MJ would have to pull her from the bathroom and walk her back to their dorm, only for Betty to vomit all over the carpet. In their tiny shoe box of a room, the smell wouldn’t go away for days. But since Betty apologized profusely every time, and MJ could never stay mad at her for more than a minute, she never held it against her.
MJ didn’t even know why she agreed to go with her to a party at a house off campus—something neither of them had done before. Truthfully, the idea scared her, but she wasn’t about to let Betty know that.
Still, maybe her friend’s newfound you-only-live-once attitude rubbed off on her just a tiny bit. And maybe she just couldn’t spend another night sitting alone in their room missing Peter so much it ached.
MJ pressed the power button for the radio before remembering Betty’s car had been off for too long. She was beginning to worry that her friend finally got in trouble for the fake when she saw her coming out of the liquor store.
“You look kind of pale. Are you cold?” Betty asked, getting into the driver’s seat. “You could’ve turned the heat on.”
“You took the keys with you.”
“Oh, right...sorry,” she said. “You know, I’m really glad you’re coming with me tonight. I don’t think I’d be able to find this house without you.”
“You wouldn’t be able to find anything without me,” MJ said, looking out the window. “Will you be really disappointed if I change my mind?”
“What?” Betty nearly stopped the car. “Why would you change your mind?”
“I don’t know if I’m up for it.”
She rolled her eyes. “You are not sitting alone in our room tonight. I know you want your ‘me time’ and all, but this will be the third weekend in a row. You promised you would go.”
“What if I promise to go next time?”
MJ’s phone lit up and she quickly grabbed it. It was Peter.
Have fun with Betty tonight. Love you :)
Betty gave her a look as she turned her phone back over on her lap.
“This is about him, isn’t it?”
“No it isn’t! Believe it or not, my life doesn’t revolve around a boy,” MJ said, sinking into her seat.
“A boy that you haven’t seen in two months. Look, I know you don’t like to talk about it, but if you want to, I’m happy to listen.”
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
“Okay,” Betty drawled. “But it’s not good for you to keep all of this to yourself. I know you miss him. And I know it’s hard with him being like three hours away, but you should just tell him—”
“I said I don’t want to talk about it!” MJ snapped.
Betty frowned, but kept her mouth shut and her eyes on the road. MJ regretted it as soon as she said it. The only thing she hated as much as talking about her feelings was hurting Betty’s.
“I’m sorry,” she said, then after a pause, “You’re right.”
“No, I’m sorry,” Betty said. “I know you don’t like talking about it. I just wish you would because I hate seeing you so upset, you know? It’s hard being in a long distance relationship. I get it.”
MJ gave her a look. “You see Ned every two weeks.”
“Well…” She appeared to be thinking about it for a moment, then sighed. “Yeah, okay. But I still get it. You miss him everyday. Like you can’t concentrate on anything in class because you’re just thinking about when you’ll see him next, or the last text he sent you, or—”
“I get it,” MJ mumbled.
“I’m really not helping, am I?”
“No, it’s really not you, Betty. I promise,” she assured her.
Betty smiled. “Just don’t be sad forever, okay? You’ll see him soon. It’s Peter, remember? He’s the furthest from a….a fuck boy I’ve ever met.”
“I think that’s the first time I’ve ever heard you say the word ‘fuck,’” MJ said. “And I’m going to tell Ned you said that.”
If Betty thought she was joking, she sure didn’t after MJ took out her phone and started typing.
“Please don’t! You know how fragile he is.”
****
“He isn’t answering me!”
MJ threw her phone across the bed and heard it clatter on the floor. That would be the fourth time this week she cracked her screen.
“You’re beginning to sound like high school me,” Betty said, straightening the final strand of her hair.
“You realize your hair is already straight, right?” MJ raised an eyebrow at her.
She set the straightener down carefully on her desk with a sigh. “It’s a party. I just wanted to do something a little extra. Want me to do yours?”
“I’m good, thanks.” MJ leaned over the bed to retrieve her phone.
This was exactly what she never wanted to be when she came to college. Never in a million years did MJ think she would become the crazy girlfriend. She always hated that term anyway. Invented by men who don’t have the balls to own up to their mistakes when women are upset with them.
She knew the distance would be hard, Peter being nearly 3 hours away at MIT. Still, they had been together since the end of junior year, and maybe it was foolishly optimistic, but MJ believed they could make it. Peter wasn’t just her boyfriend. He was her best friend. He understood her better than anyone else. And even when he didn’t, he listened. He loved her, and she loved him. And even though she knew the same could be said for so many high school couples who broke up in college, MJ knew what they had was special.
The fact that she was beginning to second guess herself, that she was getting upset over nothing, was what drove her insane more than anything. As much as she loved Peter, he wasn’t worth all the strain.
MJ was going to be upfront, and if that made her psychotic in Peter’s eyes, she wouldn’t give a damn.
“What are you doing?” Betty asked, nervously eyeing MJ on her phone.
“Texting Peter.”
“And...what are you saying?”
“Just that we haven’t seen each other in months and we need to talk face to face or I’m going to dump him.”
Betty blinked. “Uh, okay. Maybe don’t say that last part. You’re going to scare the shit out of him.”
MJ groaned, falling back on her pillow. “I know, okay? I’m sorry. I’m just mad.”
“And I don’t blame you,” she said. “But you’re getting way too ahead of yourself. Just ask him when he can talk.”
“I’ve been asking him that for weeks,” MJ said. “It’s always ‘Soon, I promise. I’m really really sorry. I miss you. I love you. Blah blah blah.’ I’m busy, too, but at least I’m making an effort here.”
She bit her lip, at a loss for words. “Let’s just go to the party. You need to get your mind off this for a while. Text him later.”
“I’ll be drunk later,” MJ mumbled. “Maybe that’s a good thing though.”
Betty rolled her eyes, then grabbed her arm and pulled her up from her bed. “Come on. We’re going.”
*****
Betty wasted no time when they showed up at the house, which she never would have found without MJ’s help. But to her credit, if it weren’t for her astounding confidence, they wouldn’t have made it into the party at all. Although they looked like freshmen, anyone would think they were seniors the way Betty walked in like she owned the place. Luckily, she happened to know one of the girls who lived here from the radio station.
“Betty! So glad you could make it!”
“Alicia!” Betty hugged her, and Alicia disappeared into the crowd shortly after. MJ felt Betty grab her hand and pull her through the crowd to the table with drinks. Already a littered mess. Betty, ever the white girl, grabbed a white claw. The entire walk here, MJ debated whether or not she should drink anything. On the one hand, it probably wasn’t a good idea with where her emotions were at. On the other, that seemed like the perfect excuse.
MJ grabbed a plastic cup and poured herself whatever jungle juice they were serving. Normally she was more picky about what drank, but tonight she didn’t care.
“You’re drinking that?” Betty looked at her in disbelief.
“Yep,” she replied, taking a large sip. “Try it. It’s good.”
“I’m good, thanks.”
MJ turned away so she couldn’t see the concerned look on her friend’s face. Betty could afford to give MJ one night where she was the wasted one.
Unfortunately, that meant catching the eye of a boy leaning on the wall on the other side of the room. Maybe it was her drink, which was a lot stronger than she was expecting, but he looked a lot like Peter. He smiled at her in a way that made her want to throw up. She downed half the cup.
When she turned around again, Betty was laughing with a group of girls from their calculus class. Some guy brushed past MJ, nearly knocking her off her feet, and mumbed a half-assed apology. She resisted the urge to mouth off on him.
The other half of her cup was gone by the time she walked to the other side of the room. She somehow ended up standing in front of the boy standing by the wall, who appeared far too smug.
“You know, you’re one to laugh right now,” she spat.
“Uh, okay.” He was standing so close she could smell the alcohol on his breath. She flinched when he reached out to touch a curl hanging down the side of her face. “Cool hair.”
MJ grabbed his hand, pushing it away with more force than she intended. He yelled when it hit the wall.
“Fuck off,” she said, leaving him clutching his hand as she squeezed herself through the crowd until she was by the front door. Everything was dizzy now, so she leaned on the wall for support and tried to concentrate. At this point, MJ needed to find Betty and get out. She knew her limits and finishing a whole cup of mystery alcohol in less than 10 minutes definitely exceeded them.
MJ moved her hand along the wall until she found the door, pulling it open to be met with a comforting breath of fresh air. She stumbled outside and sat down on the front steps, holding her head between her hands.
“MJ?”
She thought she was seeing things again when she looked up and saw Peter standing in front of her. There was no way he was actually here.
“MJ, are you okay?” He kneeled down in front of her, brushing her hair out of her face. His touch was warm, familiar. Peter.
“What the—” She blinked, focusing on his face. “What are you doing here?”
“I came to surprise you. Betty said you guys would be here.” MJ must’ve looked completely ridiculous because Peter was grinning ear to ear. “You don’t look so good.”
“You don’t get to laugh right now, Petey.” She meant to cover his mouth, but she spread her hand over his entire face.
“Petey?” Peter lowered her hand, holding it with his own. “I know. You’re right.”
“We haven’t seen each other in months, Peter. And you come here expecting everything to be okay just because...just because you came here.”
Peter looked down, stroking her hand with his thumb. He knew that always calmed her down. “I’m really sorry, MJ. I know I screwed up. I never want to be that kind of...I don’t want to be…”
“A fuck boy?”
“Yeah, exactly. I don’t want you to think that’s what this is. That I just got bored after high school and I was trying to get rid of you or something. I know you’ve been busy too, and that’s no excuse. I promise this will never happen again. I promise I’ll—”
MJ put her hand on Peter’s nose. “Can you just shut up and take me back to my room please? Apologize to me when I’m sober, okay?”
He nodded vigorously, lifting her up and wrapping an arm around her waist. “I love you. You know that, right?”
“Yeah, whatever. I’ll love you too tomorrow.”
Peter smiled. “What did you drink anyway?”
“I have no idea, but it was terrible.”

i don’t need you (3)
warnings: swearing duh wbk y/n is a trashmouth, fluff, ffh spoilers, mentions of gun shots
"peter! fucking help me!"
"i'm coming! hold on!" peter yelled through your communication system. he was currently swinging over to somewhere on the London Bridge. out of breath, weak, tired, bruised, cut up, and bleeding, but none of that would keep him from making sure you were okay. none of that.
beck currently had you in a chokehold, and you were too weak and restrained to use your powers. he wasn't doing anything to you though. but that could change when peter arrived. you couldn't fight back. you needed peter. both physically and emotionally. for the first time in awhile, you were scared. you needed someone to save you. it was usually the other way around. but sometimes the strongest ones end up needing the most saving.
"edith, give me eyes on peter," beck ordered.
"he should be here in about five seconds."
you counted, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1,
and peter shot through the glass.
"peter!" you yelped. you knew something bad was gonna happen.
"y/n stay calm!"
peter turned to mysterio, "your lies are over beck."
"ah man, this certainly isn't ideal, but i have contingencies. edith?"
crash.
a drone went and shot peter.
you were right.
he tumbled and rolled like twenty five feet away from where beck had you. luckily peter got up quickly, coughing, but still no hesitation.
"just give me y/n," peter started.
beck tilted his head.
"and the glasses," peter finished.
"you mean these?" beck asked holding up the glasses and pointing to you, "come and get 'em."
and everything around disappeared. another one of mysterio's infamous illusions.
peter closed his eyes and breathed out. he was scared as fuck. but he had to focus. on you.
"c'mon peter tingle..."
and he leaped. he flew high and wide crashing and destroying every drone he came in contact with like it was ripping a piece of paper. then everything started to come back. you saw peter run at a drone.
"holy shit," you said under your breath.
beck tightened his grip on you and yelled "FIRE ALL THE DRONES NOW!"
the drones shot at peter. but peter hit back harder. maybe too hard. shots fired back towards you and beck, one hitting beck in the thigh and one hitting you in your right shoulder.
"ah FUCK!" you cursed. it hurt like a bitch. you've been shot before, but never in the shoulder. beck fell, releasing you. you could finally gain some strength back, though not much since you'd just been fucking shot. you used your left arm to find the bullet in your shoulder and used your powers to bring it out of you slowly. it almost hurt worse coming out.
meanwhile, beck was on the ground and peter was destroying another drone then his extra ass landed in his iconic spider pose.
peter ripped of his mask, limping to you, "y/n! y/n hang on. i've got you."
"i would hug you but this doesn't seem like the right time," you quickly said.
peter nodded and ripped his mask up more to make a sort of tourniquet to tie around your arm and shoulder area. you kept it situated.
"now go! run,y/n i'll find you!"
"beck!" peter bellowed is his cute angry voice, "you lied to me."
"i know," beck struggled to talk, "that's the most disappointing part. such a weakness."
beck held the edith glasses up to peter. but peter felt something.
"stark was right. you do deserve these."
and a gunshot quickly rang out. but peter was quicker. his right arm was extended on the real beck, gun in hand. peter's eyes were red, filled with tears, blood streaming down his face. his stomach was whirling, holy shit. he was worrying about you.
"you can't trick me anymore."
peter stole back his glasses.
"edith! turn off all the drones!"
"welcome back peter. should i execute all cancellation protocols?"
"yes! just do it!"
and all the godforsaken drones flew off to who knows where. beck was left to perish.
peter chuckled. relieved because you and him did this. together. saved the fucking world!
"y/n!"
————————
peter swung out of the structure, asking edith to find you. you were under a shaded, private, tree not to far from the bridge, happy found you and was tending to the gunshot wound. you were arguing with him over whether or not it was a good idea to pull the bullet out. it felt like old times with tony sort of.
seconds later peter landed down in front of you and happy startling the man. your eyes widened and suddenly you didn't care about having a hole in your shoulder, much to happy's dismay. you jumped up from your seat under the tree and ran to peter's outstretched arms. it was such a relief hugging him and seeing that he was okay, and vice versa. happy walked away to give you two some privacy, but not too much.
"i'm so fucking glad you're okay. i was scared for my life!"
"you? scared? where's y/n and what have you done with her?" peter laughed.
"shut up," you smirked, squeezing him tighter.
"ah, that hurts," you cried when peter squeezed back.
"sorry. i just need to make sure this is real."
"oh it's real."
you two pulled away from each other, smiling at each other like a bunch of idiots. who knew? two 'enemies' would team up.
"i can't believe we did it. and made it out alive," peter said.
"we? you did everything. i got caught in a choke hold! you're the real hero. this time," you smiled again.
"well, thanks. but hey you got to beck first! and didn't you kill that... what did you call it? that fire fucker?" peter laughed.
"yeah," you nodded your head, "but that wasn't even real."
peter shrugged, "but you know what is?"
"what?" you asked.
"this."
peter took a step toward you, placing one hand on you neck and the other on your waist, making sure to avoid your wound, and kissed you. peter never kissed anyone before. and neither had you. the second his lips touched yours, it was electricity. your bodies slowed, finally having what both of you needed. all this arguing and fighting over the years was leading up to this. this moment. this kiss. this kiss was what both of you needed. to realise your feelings for each other and release all that built up tension. you really needed each other.
and you kissed him back, moving your lips together like it was the easiest thing ever. it felt so right. it felt perfect. you placed your good hand on his chest, melting into the kiss, into him.
you were the first to pull back, needing some air. peter obviously wasn't ready for that as he continued to lean forward into your lips. you have him a quick smooch again then rested your forehead on his when he finally got the message.
"jeez," you panted, "i should've kissed you a long time ago."
"yeah," peter blushed. his cheeks pink as ever.
"i'm really sorry for everything. you're a great guy. and i...i really like you."
"don't apologise y/n. you know i'm sorry too. and duh i know you like me. we just made out!"
"shut up you idiot," you laughed.
"i like you too," peter whispered.
"good. let's do this."
"girlfriend, boyfriend?"
"hell yeah," you said.
"great," peter grinned, "here let's sit back down under the tree. i want you to be comfortable."
"how charming," you said as peter helped you sit down.
once you were settled down he sighed.
"wanna make out some more?" peter asked.
"fuck yeah."
