Character Bashing and the Normalization of Abusive Behaviors

In 2020 I got into the Marauders fandom knowing nothing about the Harry Potter franchise and I cannot understate how disgusting the fandom’s treatment of bullying (abuse) was and continues to be. Do better.

I’m sick of seeing victim blaming rhetoric shared with no care to the real people it affects.

The character bashing in this fandom and the Harry Potter fandom overall is honestly abhorrent.

This also applies to Lily bashing from fellow Snape fans. Disgusting, honestly. She’s allowed to draw a line. Slurs are literally an act of violence.

Can’t we just have nuanced, well-informed, and transformative conversations around harmful power structures and how they affect how we treat one another?

All of these characters are flawed and it doesn’t hurt to try and tackle your favs bad behaviors instead of sharing harmful victim blaming rhetoric to justify their actions.

This fandom honestly has so much more potential if we simply chose to acknowledge the inherent faults in the source material and reject the poor handling of sensitive subjects by a world-renowned BIGOT together and make something better.

just because a musical uses the word and it trends online doesn’t make it any less of a derogatory term. stop using it. stop reblogging posts that use it. fandom should be a safe and comfortable space for everyone, including physically disabled people. “cripple” has always been a derogatory term, and you don’t get to start using it now just because the internet thinks it’s funny

Usagi Yoshisato is the last son and heir to the Suneagi Clan, a once flourishing clan abundant with skilled swordsmen and sword makers, who also had skills in farming.

The clan was founded by Usagi Yojimbo, the first Suneagi Rabbit. In his young teens, Yojimbo left his small village, which was dying from drought and famine, to find a new home for his family to live in peace. He was said to be a stubborn, bullheaded boy who never backed down from a challenge. he challenged a powerful kitsune to a battle. If he won, the spirit would grant him his greatest desire.

The battle was hard, but by sunrise, Yojimbo was the victor and had earned the kitsune's respect. The fox, smitten by Yojimbo's pride and pure heart, decided to bless the rabbit and all that came after him, and thus the Suneagi clan was born.

I have lots of lore for Yoshisato, it's not even funny. Some extra lore the Suneagi clan liked to depict themselves as real rabbits/bunnies but for some reason they always made Yojimbo the most cutest/cutesy in his depictions 💀

Uhhh they used to be close to the hamato clan but got betrayed (this was after the shredder came Suneagi clan had no idea why hamato turned on them they did not know about the corrupted armor, so to them, they were backstabbed)

Blah blah blah I have so much more but imma let it there—Oh wait my idea is Suneagi rabbits are biologically different from regular rabbits bigger and carnivorous and have a natural bond with foxes 👍
