In hindsight, Willie probably shouldn’t have been awake for two days straight. Or at least, he shouldn’t have allowed himself near his phone after being awake for two days straight. Or maybe it was the coffee. 12 cups in 4 hours does strange things. Apparently. 

Regardless of the cause, it was 2am and Willie was staring at their phone in absolute horror.

Yeah, Willie was fucked. It wasn’t their fault, though. Really, it was just the 2am timing (that he had decided to stay up until) and the 12 cups of coffee (that they had decided to drink). 

Okay, so maybe it was his fault. But still. Any plans they had of sleeping had been completely thrown out the window. Willie knew Alex went to sleep at 11:30pm every night; they’d teased him at least a thousand times for it. Even knowing that, and knowing that there was no way Alex would be awake for another several hours, Willie could still do nothing but sit on the floor and check his phone every ten seconds. 

Even despite their hypervigilance, he almost missed the low buzz that emitted from his phone after what felt like years of waiting. Willie snatched their phone up to view the lock screen and- @cool.skateboards444 liked your post. Oh. Willie felt his shoulders slump and he rubbed his eyes. What did they expect? It was- they reached over to his phone again to check the time and promptly dropped it back on the floor with a clatter. Below the glowing 2:17 timestamp was a bright white rectangle standing out against his lock screen: alex 🥁💜 - iMessage. Willie rubbed his eyes to make sure they were reading it correctly, and when he opened them again, the notification stared back at him, exactly as he had read it before. With shaking hands, they typed in the passcode to his phone (definitely not Alex’s birthday) and when they opened the messages app, they were met with the absolutely terrifying sight of the smallest text bubble they had ever seen: “oh.” 

Willie barely had time to overthink the message before it disappeared, the messages screen now hidden behind a request to FaceTime?? Running off of caffeine, panic, and reflex, Willie instinctively pressed accept and was met with a sleepy-looking, pajama-clad, messy-haired, unfairly adorable Alex. Fuck. 

“Uh, hey,” Willie said, and immediately cursed himself for how tense his voice was.

Alex stared for a second, seemingly taking in Willie’s run-down and exhausted appearance, before clearing his throat. “Oh, shit, sorry. Did I wake you up?”

“Nah,” Willie let his face split into the small grin that Flynn liked to call his ‘Alex smile.’ Only now he was realizing maybe that was accurate. “I was already up.”

Alex nodded and was silent for a moment before his eyes widened slightly. “Right. Your 12 cups of coffee. Please tell me that was an exaggeration?”

“No can do, hotdog,” Willie responded, shrugging slightly and running his restless fingers through his hair to ease the fidgeting. ADHD and coffee. A combination that was always unpredictable, never desirable, and pretty much inevitable with Willie at this point.

Alex frowned slightly and Willie wanted nothing more than to be able to somehow teleport into his room and smooth away that little crease between his eyebrows. Unfortunately, he wasn’t some ghost who could poof wherever he wanted to whenever he wanted to. That would be the life. Another thought far outside the realm of ghosts entered Willie’s mind, and he pushed aside the mental image of skating in Justin Bieber’s empty pool and focused back on Alex.

“Hang on, why are you awake?” Willie smirked, but his nervousness tugged his lips back down into a slight grimace. “Isn’t it past your bedtime?”

“Time is a social construct,” Alex replied airily, rolling his eyes.

“Yeah, and that’s my line.”

“Fine. I couldn’t sleep. And then you… you texted me.”

Willie couldn’t tell if the blood all rushed to or from their face, but it was one of the two because suddenly they were overheating, shivering, and vaguely nauseated. “Oh. right.”

“So…”

Willie couldn’t bring themself to look at Alex’s face on the screen, so they stared at their socks. They were mismatched, he noted; one was dark blue with hot dogs, and the other was dark red with skateboards. Alex had gotten them for him and had taken a sock from each pair for himself. Something twisted in Willie’s stomach and he looked away from the patterns. “Yeah.”

“Did you mean it?” Alex’s voice suddenly burst out louder and Willie looked up sharply. Alex’s eyes were wide in the frame, and through the grainy camera quality Willie noticed him biting his lip nervously. As if he thought Willie was going to say no.

“What- of course I meant it,” Willie blurted out before he could overthink it. “I mean- no, yeah that’s exactly it. Yeah. I meant it.”

Alex’s mouth dropped into an ‘o’ of surprise, and he breathed, “Oh,” so quietly that Willie nearly missed it.

“Oh, c’mon, hotdog,” Willie said quietly, daring to look into the camera. “You can’t just leave me hanging like that. What d’you mean by oh?”

“I mean I like you too, speed bump,” Alex said, followed by an audible breath of relief. 

“Oh.”

“Yeah. Now can you try to sleep?”

Willie felt like they had been hit over the head with one of Alex’s drumsticks. No, not a drumstick. They felt like someone had dropped the whole drum set on top of their brain, and they were still dazed from the impact. He shook his head quickly and blinked. “Uh-”

“Are- are you okay?”

“Yeah,” Willie reassured him with a growing smile. “It’s just, this is sorta a dream come true, y’know. So I’m a little out of it.”

Even in the crappy lighting of the phone screen, Willie saw Alex’s face go completely scarlet. Clearly fighting back a smile, Alex shook his head and returned, “Go to sleep.”

“Okay, okay, fine. Whatever you say, hotdog.” Willie giggled and ended the call, the image of Alex’s small smile imprinted on his retinas. Yeah, there was no way they were going to sleep anytime soon.

Just as they were starting to get into bed to at least try, there was a soft ping and Willie’s phone screen lit up. 1 message from Alex. With a soft smile, Willie unlocked his phone and opened up messages. There, in the familiar grey bubble, read the six most beautiful words Willie had seen in his entire life.

Hi! I'm back, after 2 years, again. It somehow became a routine? A tradition? I don't know, but I keep on coming back to Tumblr, 2 years after every update. This time I'm probably going to stay, for a little bit longer. Well, I'll try.

I've been thinking about Tumblr for a few months now, I just did not have the time (the motivation, honestly) to open my account again. But then I saw a friend's story on Facebook - which made me open Tumblr again and see what's been going on in this part of social media, hoping it would inspire me to write again - it probably did since you're reading this.

I've had my Tumblr for 11-12 years now, I started it because I wanted to write, but I did not know what I wanted to write about so it became a diary of some sort. I started reblogging stuff that I could relate to at the moment and posting what I was feeling at the moment. It became the perfect outlet for a teenager with a lot of feelings, a lot of angst (CHARZ). Going thru my archive now that I'm almost 24 years old felt like I was being introduced to a stranger I already met, like I know that person but not really. If that makes sense. I felt nostalgia, suddenly I was that 14-15 year old girl again, so excited about high school and then I'm the depressed 17-19 year old sad college girl going through some dark shit she couldn't figure out. I stumbled upon my last life update about 2 years ago and it honestly made me cry. As I was reading that life update, I realized I lost myself and in all honesty, after so many years, I have not found her yet. I know I'm never going to find that girl again, so many things happened that it's just so hard to find her, to find my way back. You're probably reading this and thinking "she just doesn't make sense, i don't understand what she's writing at all" - same, I don't even understand myself sometimes. But what I do know now is that sometimes it's okay to not be the same person you were 4-5 years ago, it means you've grown - hopefully for the better. All my life I've heard I was the most awful person ever from people who's never been part of my social circle or people I've never even met. You hear stories about yourself - mostly misconceptions, and thinking about all of it just fucks you up in the head. You never really get over it, you just get to a point where it doesn't really bother you so much anymore. I'm at that point in my life now. I don't care if somebody calls me "isnabera", "maldita", or whatever awful adjective they can think of. They don't know me and what matters is the people I have now in my life. They know me and they understand me. I realize that now. As long as I'm not bothering other people, I'm good. I'll be vibin over here, getting fatter by the day. 😂 It's just so surreal to be where I am now and reading all the good and bad experiences I posted here a few years back. BTW, you're not gonna find most of it here. It's gone. I've deleted it. I decided that it's time to let go of the past, as corny as it may sound. Hopefully, I'll be posting more happy stuff from now on. (Probably just book reviews, but whatever.) This is my first post for 2021, sana masundan. Happy new years, everyone! 🍾

I can't sleep. I finally downloaded the, "This is Paramore" on spotify. Tinuro mo sakin yun na, always put "this is" before the author or the band. Sa buong buhay ko, di ko ineexpect na makakapakinig ako ng mga ganito. Magkaibang magkaiba tayo ng taste sa music. OPM lang talaga benta saakin, at adik na adik ka sa paramore. Yung last na attend mo ng concert, mag isa ka lang. Gusto moko isama kaso baka di naman ako mag enjoy dahil di ko gusto. Tumuloy ka padin kasi di mo yun papalampasin. At eto ako ngayon, nakikinig ng mga awit na gusto mo. Nagulat nalang ako na nagkaron ako ng interes. Gusto ko kasi makita yung nakikita mo kay hayley na gustong gusto mo. Btw miss na miss na kita ate! Malapit na yung CARB Christmas party. ☹️ Excited tayo palagi. Ngayon, excited ako pero parang may kulang... Heyyyy, just wanted to share what I've been fangirling over these days. Hehe. So, here's the thing.. I became a super fan of Ranz & Niana last April 2020. Well actually, it's mainly because of their sister, Chelseah Hilary. I adore her so much because of her cuteness & coolness that I noticed whenever she's in the vlog. Hence, I've been looking forward to their vlogs every other day.. (coz R&N uploads every other day) hoping that I would see Seah in their recent vlog. Of course, as a fan, I followed all of their social media accounts, stalked a lot. As in. This routine of mine goes on until now but.. this July 2020, I've been fangirling too much again with another vlogger. Actually, I'm really into youtube namn eversince.. I like vloggers (coz I wanted to be one too), I watched so many vlogs from different vloggers each day but my favorite was 'itsJudysLife' eversince I was in college. Before, I'm aware of the other vloggers din naman but I ONLY watched daily vlogs of Judy coz I love JMK so much. Hehe. But then in 2019, I've seen a vlog of Wil Dasovich with her sister & I became curious, I watched, enjoyed, subscribed (to Wil & Haley's YT channels) & watched more vlogs of him with his sister. So there!! I became a fan of them.. but more of Haley because of her girl power & travel vlogs. Hehe. But still, I haven't been longing for their vlogs before.. I mean, I watch only when I see their vlogs appear on my feed.. unlike now, I've turned on all post notifications & excitedly waiting for their next vlogs. I'm really into them these days. I dunno how I started being 'sobrang fangirl' to their vlogs.. I think it was bec of Wil's recent vlog about Alodia? Not sure though. But one thing's for sure is that I admire Haley Dasovich so much. Since last week, I haven't been getting enough sleep coz I am so puyat catching up, watching their previous/old vlogs (or just any vlogs with Haley Daso in it). Oh and btw, I shipped #danley. I know it's a fake love team but they're so bagay eh. Haha. I'm not gonna pushed them to be real naman (I respect whatever relationship they have) (but if it happens, I would really be extra happy :)) Anyways, I just enjoy seeing the bond that they have which makes me 'kilig' kahit magkai-VIGAN lang sila. Haha. Alright, gonna end my blog naaa. It's 12:33am rn but I will stay up late again coz I'm gonna watch more vlogs pa of the Daso Fam &/or the Vlog Squad. Hehe. Sunday naman tomo eh (No work). ♡♡♡

Come early in the beginning of the scheduled day. Find more events here. 

There will only be curbside parking spots. A block ahead (one-way street) there are spots across the street from the houses, get ready to be in the far left lane, ( We almost witness an accident, a small SUV crossed from far right) passed the playground on the right side of the road.

Ask for children’s area and goodies.

There were yogurt and whipped cream when we were there on the right-hand side while the milk varieties booth was on the left-hand side. 

You could bring home the plastic wine inspired milk glass.

Let’s Ask questionnaire process for #CloverTastingRoom

Weekend at Downtown SF, what were we thinking? Curbside founding was almost a miracle. Not to mention the house owner complaints. If polygloting was a skill, we just aced it right then there. Thankful for multilingual ability that ease our way out of trouble. 

“Just half an hour, uncle.” We spoke in Tagalog. 

“Half an hour, yes? Promise?”

Pheww, we got out of the Tasting Room after only 23 minutes, but who’s counting. In between that, the fun of field tripping trailing us all the way home. Moooo!

We stepped out of the traffic. The three bobbing heads peeled their eyes away from the playground and looked forward, fussing with their masks. Was it nervousness? Even when this was their second time doing it, there would always be that jitter arising within them. It’s just part of the game.

The place was quaint and reminded us more of a small cafe, or was it froyo and boba joint nowadays? Straight in front of us were two pairs of eyes, already smiling and inviting. Body languages sure spoke volumes. After a couple sips, or more like gulp of milk, which seemingly calmed the nerves, the three masked visitors took a deep breath and jump in.

Q: Thank you. Do you mind if we ask several questions?

A: No problem! So what was the question? 

Q: Why is the company called Clover? 

A: Because the cows eat clover, clover green grass and the cows are out on the green grass. So I think that's how it's started a hundred years ago. Clovers have good protein. 

Q: How can you become an expert at milk farming? 

A: Well, a lot of hard work and practice. Practice makes perfect. So, when we were younger, we would like to follow our parent and watch our parent and we started to help them. So, you just need to learn and you listen and you talk to other people who have been doing it for a long time. You talk to other farmers, and you ask them, What do you do everyday? and follow them around, shadowing and start practicing. For farmers, there are different trainings and meetings to learn new things too.

And a lot of us farmers have older family members who taught us about farming. Then going to college and taking classes to learn about food, nutrition, and husbandry. So, there are lots of ways you can learn to become an expert farmer, and you know what? You never stop learning.

Q: Is there a special grass that makes the milk taste good? 

A: Yeah, actually, clovers. So that probably back to how Clover got its name a long time ago. 

Q: What is the funniest thing that ever happened on your farm? 

A: I don't know, there's too many. When I was little and learning how to drive the tractor to feed with the hay, 'cause sometimes when the grass isn't growing very good in the summer when it gets really hot, we have to feed them hay.  I was driving and my dad was on the back. And I was never supposed to press the pedal. I was only supposed to steer out at the big field. I decided that I was gonna try to press the pedal and when I press the gas pedal, he fell of the back riding behind her. It was pretty funny. 

Wish we could bring that mask home, mohoho!

Q: Two more questions for you. 

A: Two more? Ok.

Q: Is there different cow's milk, if there are, can you name some? 

A: So there are different varieties like fat-free, 2%, and whole fat. So like all cows make the same type, then from there, they can be different flavors, so we have regular milk, and then there's chocolate milk, and there's also some places that started to do root beer flavor milk and strawberry milk. But the black and white cows are called Holstein, the browns are called Jersey and the Jersey has a little bit of higher fat content than the milk that comes out of Holstein, make sense? 

Q: Yes. Who decided to do the milk tasting?

A: Well, we renamed our company from Clover Stornetta to Clover Sonoma, and when we were making these ideas about how to launch the brand, we decided to compare milk because it's a craft like wine, and we decided as a part of that, we would create pop-up milk tasting room, like a wine tasting room. So it came from our team, our marketing team.
