the other day i was wondering about how it would go if rick sanchez and abed nadir interacted bcs theyre my fav guys ever but i couldnt actually imagine them ever interacting and then i accidentally came up with a whole fuck ton of headcanons about what would happen if rick started visiting the study group regularly (also featuring morty :3) so i figured i might as well post them idk

the hc abt rick and abed having a conversation was just like rick going on and on about some insane adventure he went on and just overall saying wild stuff and abed listening, genuinely interested, but thinking "this guy makes jeff seem well-adjusted"

at first rick always goes alone but he talks about morty all the time and the adventures they go on but he never elaborates about who morty is so everyone just assumes he's a friend of ricks and one day rick finally introduces them to him and its literally a teenage boy and his grandson lol. everyone is confused

shirley probably hates rick sm at first

morty and britta talking abt politics or ethics or smth like that :3

i imagine rick saying the f slur or smth and the family friendly sitcom study group is flabbergasted while morty is sweating bullets apologising for him lol

rick almost immediately asks if troy and abed are fucking

one time chang tried to hug rick (even though they barely knew each other, i just feel like thats something he'd do) and rick's first instinct was to pull a gun out on him and after that chang kept begging him to make him one of those guns too (he didn't)

britta tries to therapise him but eventually rick scares her off by saying something insane or "way out of her league diagnostically" as she said once and she never tries again

rick and jeff having a drink-off (rick wins)

troy alternates between thinking rick is cool and funny and being a little afraid of him

morty and troy get along and morty thinks abed is cool

morty's favourite is anne because he thinks shes so cool and smart and pretty (think like the person you looked up to as a kid, thats how morty thinks of annie) and she lets him act like a kid and doesnt put any unfair insane expectations on him (*cough* rick) because she knows what that feels like

annie dislikes rick but she keeps slipping fliers for AA into his pockets and rick is confused and incredibly annoyed whenever he finds them

rick thinks chang is weird af but finds it funny, especially bcs hes like the main antagonist of the study group and hes just some guy

rick is probably kinda mean to the dean :(

rick saying something in spanish and no one in the ex spanish study group has any idea what hes saying (they did not learn a thing)

rick thinks its kinda cool that jeff faked his degree, but he wont admit it ofc

morty loves apartment 303

annie eventually warms up to rick because he's less grumpy and rude once you get to know him and they become kiiiinda friends (but shes still a little wary of him)

shirley also eventually warms up to rick and acts like a stern parent (even though rick is almost double her age 💀) and rick pretends to hate it but he doesnt (he didnt get loved enough by his parents as a kid)

morty loves shirley because shes is always so nice to him and gives him baked goods bcs she thinks hes the sweetest kid ever (he is). he always defends her when rick calls her lame

For your humble consideration: aromantic Britta Perry. My evidence:

She says that marriage is a scam, but this only seems to apply to her; she doesn't try to persuade anyone else

Additionally, when she realizes she's great at wedding planning, she freaks out thinking that this means she has to get married (when many shows would have her arc being warming up to the idea of marriage, even if it was just a little)

Some descriptions of the men she has been the "love interest" of: the most unserious guy in the whole world, another person who will never, ever commit to anything, and half of Troy and Abed

(BTW I'm ignoring her confession of love to Jeff. Why? Uhhhh because I think it's silly)

Her longest relationship is with a guy who is fully in love with someone else. Not only is she completely chill with Troy's love for Abed (their main arguments aren't about him not being romantic enough, but about not being a good enough friend), but she actively encourages him to go after Abed while they are supposed to be on a date. She refers to Troy as Abed's boyfriend. No way she was romantically attracted to him

okay so i think im gonna write a community old wild west au in the coming days, so here’s kinda a preview of my ideas (if you have any ideas, i would love love love if you would share them!!) btw this was inspired by this post from @understandably-odd!!

annie has run away from home after her pill addiction (did they have drugs like that in the willd west?? is there something close to that??) and finds troy and abed (who ran way together). the three of them rescue a wounded horse (named annie’s boobs after annie’s boobs) and they ride off to one of annie’s relatives who she hopes will take them in. this is where they meet the older members of the group- shirley and pierce, who own a saloon together, britta, the bartender, and jeff, who plays poker every night in the saloon. they all team up to rob the local bank, run by the dean. chang is the wild west security guard (no one knows how he became sheriff) and tries to stop them. it’s kinda like The First Chang Dynasty in a sense but it puts a lot of focus on annie like in A Fistful Of Paintballs. i’ll post it on here when i finish, but i wanted to gather any ideas anyone might have before i start it!! #SixSeasonsAndAWildWestAU

On Troy and Britta:

I don’t ship troy and britta, but I do really appreciate their relationship in the show. I feel like they understand eachother because they’re both picked on for being just outside gender norms.

Troy is more sensitive and feminine than most men, and in season one, he is visibly ashamed of that (for example, him sneezing like a girl). He was never allowed to pursue his own interests, for fear it might cloud his popularity in high school. As he develops his relationship with Abed, and the rest of the group for that matter, he slowly becomes the more emotional, whimsy-loving softie we know and love. However, we can’t just write him off as feminine and call it a day, he likes a lot of traditionally masculine things as well, like most sports, especially football.

Britta is the same way. From the little we can glean about her childhood from S6E2, it sounds like her parents wanted her to be the picture perfect daughter, and were willing to go to ridiculous measures to make sure of it. I’m guessing she was a bit of a tomboy growing up, but when her parents tried to control her, she rejected femininity entirely. Both to stick it to her parents, and because it made her sick after it was forced upon her (Most of that is just kind of my theories btw lmao). So Britta has never been traditionally feminine, but same as Troy, she does have some feminine interests and skills.

The two of them were always picked on for being the way they are, and I love the idea of them finding comfort in someone else who gets it. Someone else who won’t bother holding them to any gender expectations.

As for them dating, I think it makes sense that their first instinct was to date. They finally found someone that understood them, and fell in love with the idea that their partner understood them. But they didn’t fall in love with eachother, if that makes sense. I think that’s why it didn’t really work out.

However, all that said, I think Troy and Britta after they dated would be SUCH a killer friendship, and I would have loved to have seen more of it :)

P.S. it is so refreshing to have the heart of the show be a male character! I genuinely love that Troy is the emotional one that keeps them all together.

Britta Perry!

First Impression: She seems like she won’t take crap from anyone, despite her own insecurities at being a community college student in her late 20s.

Impression now: She deserves the world.

Favorite moment: I’m gonna go with the Thanksgiving episode where she helps Jeff make peace with his relationship with his dad a bit, and the S1 paintball episode when she takes out Chang/sacrifices herself so Jeff can win. Other favorites moments: when she helps the group complete the grift, her “hoisted by your own petard” explanation, and the cancer knock-knock joke from one of the early seasons (despite being a bit of brutal self-deprecation, the delivery is comedic gold).

Idea for a story: LMAO there’s a lot.

-Currently writing a J/B Cruel Summer-inspired fic plus finishing the Brittannie AU

-Either a Brittannie or Trobrittabedison “what if...we kissed...in the Dreamatorium” fic (I literally have no idea how the latter would happen and crack-type fics usually aren’t my thing, but I kinda want it to exist)

-Frankie/Britta/Annie all getting together and dating each other post-canon

Unpopular opinion: I never know how to answer these tbh--I guess that I like Britta’s weird/zany self in later seasons more than how she is in S1? I know some people prefer her as being a bit more normal. I will say her study group co-parent moments with Jeff in S1 are great.

Favorite relationship: She and Jeff are idiots and they’re in love. I will forever think they end up together post-canon (either eventually married or in a long-term domestic partnership if they’re still loathe to the idea/concept of marriage). As may be obvious in my fics, I also feel like there’s a path for Britta to end up with Annie, and I love her friendship with Troy, as well.

Favorite headcanon: She makes mixtapes with a mix of the group’s favorite kinds of music on them, at first for road trips they take since people will complain about the radio otherwise. The mixtapes serve as nice little reminders of everyone when they nearly all go their separate ways at the end of the show.

social justice and queer things obviously. her arguments hold up much better online and shes actually been able to convince the group online over subject matters. mutuals with rachel from mq because i say so. very bi. her entire blog theme is pink purple and blue. sometimes occasionally reblogs fanart of fandom stuff. has a url like vaginagirlboss but in a distinctively anti terf way.

abed-

general fandom blog. will change his entire theme with each new hyperfixation. a big name in the inspector spacetime fandom and makes most of the fanart fics gifs etc. has been on tumblr since it practically began and knows all the lore. starts off with a more ‘neurotypical’ persona but grows into his own his more and more as time goes on. definitely has a crush on incognito troy whether he realises it or not.

i have no idea who clive owens is. whoever he is troy makes thirst posts about him. jeff has reblogged them. also posts fandom stuff and is pretty big in the inspector spacetime fandom but not as big as abed. only got tumblr recently and was introduced to it by annie. engages with x reader fanfic. didnt realise tumblr Isnt Like Other Social Medias so his url is in the style of reddit. still he refuses to change it. he is that flavour of neurodivergent.

only came to tumblr because she couldnt bear the thought of using twitter or tiktok (yes i know tiktok wasnt a thing back then ssh) she just wanted to find some more christian femalewifes to connect with. has been around since 2008. has seen some shit. do not ask her about dashcon. she will have a mental breakdown. occasionally interacts with stuff with the study group that she cant do with her tradwife circle.
