Alternate timeline where she didn't meet Steven. I may be exaggerating lmao
Yapping under the cut because I'm waiting on a line rn
Okey, so. Entertaining the thought: An introverted feral kid and a girl who gets a sort of high off adrenaline; but was taught to be polite and proper. You know, all that perfect girl stuff. We would also consider how her empathy level is questionable, based on how she just casually suggested cutting off his arm when it got stuck. (Still not sure if immediately being excited seeing swords is just amazement or 'OOH How convenient!') So perhaps she would learn to understand empathy in a practical (not sure if that's the word I'm looking for) way rather than in an emotional way.
Thankfully she was coaxed out of her shell and she had outlet early on. Also, to have genuinely learned friendship power! 😊
But what if she never got that outlet. 🤔 I mean, she could have gotten out of her shell in a different way. But, like. Imagine if she had to bottle it up all these years. It could go south or she'll be able to manage it because it ain't as bad. Just fun to think about the former.
She would be like: This thing I'm reading is SO morbidly interesting! I wonder what it feels like in a personal level though? Could I do it? Could I do it better now that I have the knowledge of foresight? But what if I still mess up? I can't have a negative record! And the curiosity and the adrenaline just mixes up together. Lol
Haha I'm not really seriously headcanoning that is exactly what's gonna happen. I mean at least not to an intense extent. It's so fun to think about.
#It isn't even as effective as what people made it out to be so she was going to dispose of it anyway. 😒#This poor girl is freezing up cause she got caught#Maybe if she pleads enough they won't tell anyone. They CAN'T tell anyone right?#So I guess she needs to amp up being socially nice to make them dismiss any negative correlation towards her from this. ┐(´ー`)┌#I think her parents are the ones talking to her here though so that may be not as hard.(?)#Connie Maheswaran#Steven Universe#Crack AU#Steven Universe AU#my shiz#If it's prime Connie you wouldn't know she has a barrel of acid. Probably.#And if you did she'll stare you down and confidentally say. Yes that's my a barrel of acid.#But like. You have no concrete proof she has a barrel of acid#SU AU#We get so much Steven POV. Or other POV's for that matter. Sadie has more screentime but that's understandable#Despite her role in the series this girl is a mystery to us and we can only fill up the gaps through analyzing clues and implications#It's amusing to think about Steven encouraging her to not be shy. She's so (⸝⸝⸝U u U⸝⸝⸝! But it. like#bursts out in his face because she's so enthusiastic and oh so ready to take on something#su#skedoobles#Man boredom makes you think of random things. 😑#I got so much other stuff to do and I'm stuck in a line. i'm so hungry I wish I brought sum snacks 😭#Oh. Right. I was practicing drawing hands clasping together and just drew Connie around it .#One image with dialogue text count as a comic yeah?#comics#my comics#SU comics

Ok so I do have a HUGE issue with the popular theory that Ichirou/the Moriyama empire is going down in the near future and it's this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A lot of the second half of The King's Men hinges on the fact that the Moriyamas can't be defeated. Neil can't even breathe the name while he is in FBI costudy for fear that they have an informant in the room at all times. It's heavily implied that the only reason Riko even dies is the timing of his antics, that if he did it like a while before or after Kengo's death it wouldn't be a potential loose end.
So I find it very hard to believe that these guys can be taken down in the span of less than a year since this all happens. Especially when a lot of the theories hinge on this being a plan of Neil's or Stuart's when they suggested involving Jean, when months before they introducee the FBI to the concept of Jean being involved in mafia stuff, Neil's life hinged on not even thinking about their names while in range of an FBI agent. This theory otherwise implies that in the span of July to September (between the FBI getting on the Moreau's trail and the end of TGR), the FBI have already not only figured out that their entire case is based on a lie but have made a plan of action to completely disarm them using Jean, whose knowledge of how the actual Moriyamas operate is very slim. I don't think there's precedent to believe he could even name a single person on the main branch that isn't Ichirou. The timeline on all this is simply too short. It's not even 2008 yet.
I'm not arguing for the sake of realism here. I'm arguing for the sake of not making half of The King's Men plot (if not the entire original trilogy's) useless in retrospect. The knowledge that Neil could have denounced the Moriyamas and been fine the whole time because the FBI could defeat them, actually, makes a lot of the tension in TKM null and void.
Also, is Ichirou getting arrested really a satisfying ending to the story? Kevin and Jean haven't even met the guy. He's not actually personally responsible for anything bad in their lives.
Now, I do think something fishy is going on. There's the nosy reporter, Agent Browning's cryptic remarks, the growing scrutiny on the Ravens. But I think it's way more likely that this going to be looped around to take out the second branch (maybe implying it weakens in the Moriyamas for a future downfall). And, unlike Ichirou, Tetsuji is much more of a personal villain to both Jean and Kevin. Not to mention his habits and coaching style are constantly being brought up versus Ichirou's two secohand TV appearances.

do y'all think Macaque is falling back into the role that Azure and the others put on him by remaining on the outskirts of the group because he thinks his input/presence is unwanted (and yeah his presence isn't really wanted by MK and the others BUT. something about the fact Macaque is placing himself at the edge of the group, the edge that Azure and the others pushed him to, doesn't really sit well)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#Monkie Kid#lego monkie kid#monkie kid spoilers#lmk spoilers#im gonna be completely honest: i think the only reason Mac HASN'T apologized is cause he thinks they wont listen to it#so he's trying to do things WAY more subtly and it's NOT working out#and when i say ''he thinks they won't listen'' i dont mean he thinks they won't forgive him#honestly the group would be split 50/50 between ''forgives him'' and ''suspicious but willing to let him try''#i FULL OUT mean he thinks they won't listen. that they won't even hear his apology and will just talk over/ignore him#or completely misinterpret what he's saying#THAT'S what he thinks#when he was being the villain he was putting on a show. it's HILARIOUS how obvious his actions are a front when you rewatch s1 and s2#but like?? being actually him?? he does NOT expect them to listen to him when he's just himself#sort of like a. ''if you want people to listen you have to anger/frighten them into paying attention'' kind of mentality#not a good mentality to have#it DOES explain why he reacts Like That whenever someone does something that indicates they DID pay attention though#like. listen hear me out. i do NOT think Macaque expected MK to remember the Warrior thing.#so when MK brought it up it hit him like a truck#also why he reacts like that when Wukong somewhat seriously answers his ''you know this is just the calm before the storm'' question#+ when Wukong says ''we''#cause he does not consider himself part of the group. hence staying on the outskirts#GOD this guy is such a delicious pack of trauma to dissect. thank you lego for giving me not one#not two#but THREE traumatized monkeys to analyze

Wait...was Lucien’s time UTM the only time he could consistently see his mother since being exiled from Autumn? Because that's so sad, and we got to witness zero interaction
🥲🦊
It was also the time he looked like Baron, too, but that's irrelevant now. Enjoy me some Helion, but the change wasn't needed.
WAIT...Helion and the LoA (please give her a name) were trapped UTM with everyone else. All this now created tension hinted in the later books, especially with Lucien’s changed heritage, and that little point was forgotten? They should have seen each other every night, especially during those 3 months. You're telling me they didn't do a Tamlin and Feyre and secretly met for a desperate kiss?
I swear, acotar written in 3rd person would have expanded and explained so much, because we're missing so much detail, relationships and interactions.

The idea that family is always good is so fucking pervasive. And if your birth family sucks, the goal is to find another one. But what if I don't want a family (or don't want another family)? What if I just want friends? And I don't want to have to call them something fancy to get people to understand the depth of our relationship? Why is it always "just friends"? Not just in a romantic context, but like, people call their closest friends their brothers and sisters. Why does calling them that immediately make people take the relationship more seriously???

I've had an odd nostalgia for the Once Upon a Time series of mediocre short-novel-length fairy tale retellings. I've been wanting to read the retelling of "East of the Sun, West of the Moon" from that line.
The trouble is that there is no such book.
Which makes me want to write it.
Unfortunately, the only straightforward traditional retelling of that fairy tale I want to write doesn't fit with that style.
But thinking about it got me excited about that old idea all over again.

It takes two seconds for every "Sansa never bullied Arya, they just had a normal sibling relationship" post to devolve into "but if there was someone to blame, it would be Arya because she was soooo mean and calls everything Sansa does stupid". The only reason the "Stark sisters 4ever" hags want them to get along is because they're desperately hoping Sansa's behavior toward Arya isn't ever addressed so they can keep pretending she's a perfect angel who can do no wrong; they won't even try to pretend it's about anything else.

Does it ever crush you a little inside to think about how devastated Din Djarin must have felt when he was told he was no longer a Mandalorian? And how he was told such a wicked thing simply for the 'transgression' of saving his foundling and bidding him a proper farewell?
This honourable man really had to go through the pain of believing that the way of life that he dedicated his entire being to, with such absolute devotion, since he was A CHILD wanted nothing more to do with him.
When in reality, loving and saving a foundling is absolutely THE MOST Mandalorian thing to do. The very foundations of their way of life are built upon family and foundlings. Saving a foundling is the highest honour, as The Armorer said in Season 3.
So it breaks my heart to think about him ever thinking less of himself after what he did for Grogu, it really does. I NEED Din to know how amazing he is and to never feel anything less than one hundred per cent loved and worthy ALWAYS!!

i have been spending so much time adulting lately AND i just remembered i still haven't even done my taxes UGHHHHHH i am so tired. going to watch the two hours of kim's convenience scheduled on pluto every weeknight and edit some crosswords during the commercials.
#no time to watch cql today i spent all day 1) working 2) doing laundry and 3) trying to figure out how to avoid getting poisoned#with asbestos given i am a renter and have absolutely no control over what is done to my apartment#backstory is that my bathroom floor has been rotting for the past nine years and no one has done anything about it#but we got a new property manager recently and i brought it up with him and he has been SUPER on it. which is great!#except that i brought up the concept of asbestos today when the contractors were here to give a quote#and they all acted like it hadn't occurred to them before?? even though this building is 100 years old????#so that was a bad sign. then the guy told me his company were the ones who did the siding work last year#which means they're the ones i overheard saying outside my window 'YOU know there's lead in the paint. and I know there's#lead in the paint. but we're not gonna remove all of it' or whatever. great sign#and then i gave the name of the company to my friend who knows all about this shit and she looked it up and they don't have a license#for asbestos abatement...#so i'm getting really nervous#spent a bunch of time on the phone with my renter's insurance company to see if they could help me be proactive about it#by somehow idk putting pressure on my property management company to do it correctly? but they can't#AND i discovered. they can't even tell me what my policy covers. unless i submit a claim. and the claims adjusters won't even talk to me#unless there's damage to my belongings. and there ISN'T damage to my belongings NOW. i want to PREVENT it#ANyway. it's been this kind of shit and me trying to figure out if i can move AND trying to avoid the like 5 different ways i could be#laid off etc etc it's been a fun time AND I STILL HAVEN'T DONE MY TAXES!!!!!

'Thus he ended his speech, and he doesn't say That he had wronged or spoken ill of the king, But he prayed that God long keep the king In life, in happiness, [in honour], and in contentment. And when, to the people in attendance, he said, With a steadfast countenance, "Pray for me," With a firm heart he presented his head To the sharp blade that carried it off in one blow. [And not fearing the great cruelty Of the sharp blade [...] Each one seeing that people bore great grief from it] The [three] who had to die afterwards Said nothing, as if they intentionally Had entrusted Rochford Alone to speak for their conscience [...] [The Queen] was still so curious [...] Therefore, they tell her that her brother had shown The greatest strength of any man ever seen [...] The story of the death of Anne Boleyn : a poem by Lancelot de Carle, JoAnn DellaNeva (Translator, Editor, Writer of added commentary)
"'I will,' he said in a good lawyerly fashion, 'not in this point arouse any suspicion which might prejudice the king's issue.' Unwilling to drop his line of questioning, Hales next claimed that George had spread malicious reports which called into question the paternity of Anne's child, Elizabeth. George did not dignify this with an answer. He knew his own sister." Hunting the Falcon, John Guy & Julia Fox
"But George refused to answer the question with the required yes or no, not wishing, he said, “to engender or create suspicion in a matter likely to prejudice the issue the King might have from another marriage.” Nor would he respond to any suggestion that he had spread a rumour that Elizabeth was not Henry’s. The idea that he believed Elizabeth was not the king’s child and that he had repeated such an untruth was, to George, so contemptible that he would not even dignify it with a reply." The Infamous Lady Rochford, Julia Fox
"George Boleyn's real 'crime' was to be Anne Boleyn's brother and Princess Elizabeth's uncle. He was intelligent and spirited enough to mount a powerful defence of his sister. He was powerful enough to provide the focus for Boleyn followers and, especially, those who would assert Elizabeth's rights as heir to the crown." Anne Boleyn, Josephine Wilkinson
#tsf repeated the line of 'george sealed his own fate' which pissed me off...so much#(yes these are screencaps from tsf. don't @ me)#george boleyn#first of all; george's fate was already sealed. so#secondly; i feel like that report from chapuys has been...misinterpreted; possibly?#(unpopular opinion forthcoming): i don't think he repeated what was written on the accusations he was brought#to humiliate henry (although probably this was a bonus)#i think it was more a matter of... he wasn't going to allow them to accuse him of having said something ('not even more replied better')#that they refused to read into the record. and accountability and possibly more a way to give one last blow to cromwell#vis a vis humiliating henry. which is part of why wulfhall was so infuriating#that it was portrayed as cromwell 'tricking' george into doing so.#because the next part (oft omitted which is why i've included it above) is that he won't say anything to impugn the king's issue.#and the NEXT part is to accuse him himself of having spread rumors elizabeth wasn't the king's child#and why would he do that. even his enemies admitted his intelligence#(christopher hales was very closely connected to cromwell and george would've known that if he fucked up it would reflect on cromwell and#thus infuriate henry)#as for his last speech; i wish he was given the credit that anne is given and deserves#which is that his final words were to protect his remaining family#but yeah. so much interesting in de carles. these men being fortified by notcing the crowd was grieving them; not exulting in their ends.

Before I forget it, Lloyd sneaking Marty into one of Emperor Awesome's party. (He's told he's not on the list, grabs the list, and scribbles his name down with a ballpoint pen. The bouncer lets him in because he's probably gonna get beaten up anyway.) He lists all the things he hates about the party as he leads Marty through, but says that Awesome has one thing Lord Hater doesn't.
Girls.
Lloyd is going to jail.

I couldn't stop thinking about an AU where Daniel resorts to gathering vitae again, this time to 'cure' Hazel, after his Brennenburg adventure💫, thoughts all mainly derived from this loadscreen text that tells us that Hazel is still in hospice care by the time the game's story began.
As much as I love Daniel, I don't think he really learned all that much from his experience even in the most charitable ending towards him in which he saves Agrippa. I can very, VERY easily see him slipping back into old ways if it meant saving Hazel. The most he seems to approach viewing torture as bad is when he realizes he himself no longer counts as an innocent so he can't justify killing others to save himself anymore. But killing no good, horrible, bad people to save HAZEL? Now, we're cooking with gas 😀 💀

I, for one, am reasonably satisfied that it's hinted at in the extended chapter of JJK that Yuji is paired up with Ozawa, a normie NPC with no ties to the Jujutsu world whatsoever, and who barely had much of a presence in the manga save for being "that middle school classmate who really liked Yuji". I know some readers feel this end game came out of nowhere and the pairing was unearned, but it made a lot of sense to me (more than Yuji X Nobara/Megumi anyway), even if we have not seen much interaction between them, let alone a romantic one, other than a possible one-sided love on Ozawa's part.
Ironically, I think it's exactly because we have not seen any romantic development between those two that it made the potential of them make sense. After all, Yuji was asked to choose a girl in middle school and he chose Ozawa out of anyone else he could have, even if his choice had no romantic inclinations to it. The fact of the matter is, Yuji had noticed and appreciated aspects about Ozawa he found to be beautiful, and is that not enough of a seed for those sincere feelings to one day blossom into something more?
Ozawa, for all intents and purposes, is pretty one-dimensional, but if you ask me, her "character development" was there, except it happened in that one brief chapter and back in middle school where she got her "glow up arc" because of Yuji. And the reason we know little about her beyond that... is because she has no connection to the jujutsu world, the story that we're immersed in.
Just like Nobara's normie childhood friend whom we also know so little about, what little crumbs the story has managed to establish is that Ozawa fancies him, while Yuji, who arguably isn't the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to love, has noticed Ozawa in his own way. And we also know the physical type that Yuji has admitted he is into and how tellingly Ozawa is shaping up to look more and more like Yuji's type. The math does add up for me that she isn't just an afterthought of Gege's but someone that Gege had included in, however briefly, with an intention for her to be a potential love interest for Yuji, and that is what he went with. What we got in the extended epilogue between those two is exactly where we left off with them; it is not the end game, but the start of something that may just be, now that the big war in the Jujutsu world has concluded. And I feel that Yuji, being the simple guy that he is, who's had the responsibility of all that power thrust upon him, would be nostalgic for the simpler things in life again, and thus would be drawn to people who are not from the Jujutsu world and know nothing of it -- perhaps someone he still recognizes and remembers fondly for her beautiful handwriting back in middle school.
