INT: To be totally honest, coming here, I didn't know who I was going to meet. From a personality perspective, you read all sorts of things about you. RUSSELL: You do, don't you? INT: Do you feel that this image of 'Hollywood's bad boy' is overblown? RUSSELL: Here's the thing mate, I'm not from Hollywood. I go there to work. But it's all made up and I'm sorry to burst your bubble. What do you think the whole tough guy thing is? I put makeup on for a living, brother. That's all. That's what I do. But it's not an act. It's a perception that somebody writes and then the next person goes on top of that and goes on top of that. You know, I'm in no way, shape or form like an angry person, you know, but if you do my job. And you don't get irritated by certain points of it, right? There's something wrong with you.
#russell crowe#quotes#russellcroweedit#crowedit#croweedit#gilles gifs#if you do not want my cringe analysing then do not read further yadda yadda#but there are a couple things to note here#i think the most important one is his body language#he invited this interviewer to his farm and his safe space and they seemed to have a lot of fun#but nothing really cut deep at first#it was mostly just talking about projects and the farm and goofing off on the quad bikes#and then towards the end they end up discussing more serious matters#i do not know how it is cut but this subject seems to be dropped a bit out of nowhere#and russell is REALLY obviously not comfortable with the subject#he builds up walls & he's dismissive in his answer & trying to deflect and not feed the interviewer too much at first#his 'you do do you?' is really like a laughing scoff that in a way tells the interviewer Okay Do Not Go Here#and then during his reaction to the image of hollywoods bad boy and the image being overblown#he slowly eases a bit#first of all because the interviewer allows him to explain himself and share his thoughts without too much judgement#which helps a lot as russell deals Really Poorly with people who have their judgements ready#and i think he was afraid of that#so he starts off a bit colder with the 'here's the thing mate'#but then he removes his sunglasses and he seems a bit more... thoughtful#and imho saying Everyone Else Is Wrong etc is still a bit... a deflective statement#but at the same time his whole body language went through a Huge transformation already in the span of 15-20 seconds#I think it is fair that people ask him tougher questions and I think he is very capable of handling them these days#but you can just... tell that this subject will always be kind of elephant-in-the-room-ish#and that in many ways russell is trying to carry himself with pride while simultaneously looking like a guilty dog#ALSO i do think he is right and justified in saying this

thank you thank you!! /g
Minecraft is my comfort game and it's so amazing and I love to think about the lore and work on my world and!! coming!!! up!!!! with!!!! names for my builds!!!!!!! like my current project is The Obsidian Flower. it's not an actual flower shape, but it surrounds a poppy!! it's a special poppy I've got a habit of calling "The Sacred Poppy". it started a year or two ago when I killed a witch with no armor, tools, and just a poppy!! building shrines/areas itll be in to it is normal now. the Flower is the biggest building I've done for the poppy, though. I normally make things for the poppy out of stone bricks but this time I chose obsidian. here's a picture of what it currently looks like.
I need four beacons to complete it, though, which sucks because I'm absolutely terrified of the wither.
I have multiple other places I have names for, but I'll only talk about those if you wanna know about them.
one of my favorite things about Minecraft is the music discs!!! I love all of them and I'll often put them on!!!! I love fanmade music discs!!!! I have playing on YouTube for them. the possibilities for the stories behind the discs are endless!!
another thing I love is wondering how uncraftable items would be crafted, like end portal frames or tridents!!!
i’m not very good at minecraft myself, but yeah it’s really fun to play for me/and it’s really calming?? i really like music discs as well !!! like they’re super interesting to listen to as background music & there’s a bunch of different mood to ‘em, if you know what i mean??? it’s really fun to play the game with friends because you can just mess around and build together and there’s a really nice feeling that comes to just. hanging out w/ your friends and goofing off in a game like that, so even though i’m not very good at it —it’s mostly because the only thing i can do is build shitty houses and farms— i think it’s super cool game :]]]

To The Man Who Didn’t Want To Be A Farmer, But Did For His Kids
I’ve always grown up out in the country, on what a younger me jokingly referred to as “the remnants of a once great farm” and for me, that’s how I saw it. My family has always lived on the same property, a little over one football field length away from my grandma’s house, in the middle of what was once a pretty decently sized diversified farm involving crops, cattle, and mostly hogs. However, by the time I came along, we had long since stopped farming the land ourselves and Grandma had begun renting it out to our neighbors. The only thing we kept for a very long time was horses, and it wasn’t until I was almost done with high school that we got four cows for my sister and I to raise as an SAE project.
For my dad growing up, it was expected to help out on the family farm, but that changed on July 4th, 1979 when his dad, my Grandpa John, passed away in a farming accident. After that Dad really tried to help out and act like he wanted to run the farm for the rest of his life, but my Grandma could tell his heart wasn’t in it and told him that he should do what he really enjoyed. Dad spent the next thirtyish years doing just that, all while helping Mom to raise three little maniacs.
Even if I’m not so little anymore, he still goofs around with this maniac.
Eventually, those three little maniacs started to grow up and started to take an interest in agriculture. While some of the more ridiculous requests probably made Dad role his eyes, when he could tell we were actually serious about something he would take the time to talk with us about it and make sure we really understood all that would have to go into these decisions. He was always very clear on the fact that he would help, but that we were the ones with the ideas so we had to be involved or it would be over. And help Dad definitely did, I don’t know what would have happened to our cows in the first six months if it hadn’t been for Dad taking entire days to check fence lines with us, show us how to ACTUALLY work cattle, and bring home truck fulls of feed bags after work.
Working cows is always a family affair, hyperactive puppy and all.
I know that there are days that Dad probably wished we didn’t have cows to take care of, but I’m so glad we do and he’s helped us out. I’ve learned so much from having our cows about agriculture, the cattle industry, the work that has to be put in, and just how nice a shower can feel after spending a summer day out working with the cows. Even though my sister and I are both off at college now we’ve still kept the cows and Dad has to do a large chunk of the work he knows that when we are home we aren’t going to shy away from going out into the field, if anything we’re going to fight over who’s going to drive the tractor and put out a new bale of hay. I’ve even heard my Mom talk about getting MORE cows since my little brother is starting to get older so fingers crossed!
Dad’s lessons definitely included proper gun handling.
Dad allowing for, talking about, and fostering this interest in agriculture had definitely influenced the decisions I’ve made about where I want to go with my life. He’ll roll his eyes at this most likely, but I really want to build up the family run part of the farm again, maybe nowhere near what it was or maybe something bigger in a completely different direction, but farming none the less. I don’t know when or if it would ever be a full-time career but there’s something about raising these animals and being involved in the production of an international necessity that just makes you realize how insignificant and majorly important you can be and that’s an amazing feeling. It’s my pipe dream, and future blog post, to run my own diversified farm that also serves as a way to spread more hands on information about where our food comes from and if it weren’t for this small taste of farming I’ve already gotten I don’t know that I ever would have come up with it.
To the man that walked away from farming and came back because of some obnoxious munchkins, Thank You, if it weren’t for you and all the lessons I’ve learned from your words, actions, and sometimes silence I wouldn’t be where I am today preparing to do something I love but probably would not have discovered otherwise. I might not always show it but I love you and I really do appreciate everything you’ve done for me.
“I think that if you were raised on a farm, you were born with dirt in your shoes. And once you get dirt in your shoes, you can’t ever get it out.” -Mark Thomas
