Hi! I always look forward to your responses! I'm so happy you loved the latest chapter, i made it especially long this time for two reasons: 1. I can't get enough of Eren married trope 2. I had a feeling the last chapter of the manga series was going to leave me emotionally drained and I was spot on. I'll be doing a part five for "Games" but i do not know when, hopefully in the next two weeks. I know Eren is sooo jealous, but he's also extremely cocky and aware of his strengths, at this point he gets jealous on purpose to make the sex better and also who doesn't love possessive Eren😆

Okay so, SPOILERS AHEAD.

Now, I, like many, have my opinion on the last chapter, First, Isayama wrote this amazing story and from the very beginning I always wondered if the title of the first chapter was really for Eren. How can I best describe this...okay truth is. Eren Yeager is my favorite character of aot. No, its not because he's hot but it is a partial small reason lol. I loved him since the very first episode because I felt so incredibly bad for him. I pitied Eren and I also understood why he acted the way he did. SO many people complained about him being a douchebag and a crybaby, and they aren't wrong but yes they are. Eren lacks emotional intelligence (also some common sense but thats for another time) he lack a sense of self because he witnessed his mothers death, he was given a serum at the tender age of 10, he ate his father, and he was recruited to be a soldier at the age of fifteen because he was hell bent on a revenge that was unrealistic. Let me make something clear: Every single soldier of the main group and Marley group were MINORS. They were CHILD SOLDIERS. That is fucked up no matter the threat of any kind. They were robbed of their innocence and faith and forced to train, behave, and not be stupid teenagers (EVEN THO THATS WHAT THEY ARE) just so they could be human machines to a selfish old and twisted higher-ups. Eren wasn't smart like Armin, he wasn't strong like an Ackerman, and overall he wasnt unique. The Attack Titan is what made him unique but once he realized that there were other shifters like him, it was a blow to his ego. The fact that you could S E E the depression weighing him down hurt so much. but I understood his immaturity, I myself have struggled with childhood trauma and I often catch myself saying something or doing something childish. It takes YEARS to unlearn something that was so heavily ingrained in your memories and Eren doesn't even have the time to do that. he's impulsive and hot headed but he can also be overprotective and I have always loved him for tht and I always will. I also never doubted for a second that he loved Mikasa. Mikasa had her share of traumas as well, she witnessed her parents murdered and she had to kill to save Eren, BUT the difference is that she had a savior. Eren was an awkward shy kid just like anyone else and yes he was a little messed up but i want one person to tell me they've never met a child that seemed a bit too edgy for their age. When eren's mother died NO ONE was their savior. Hanes wanted to save her but coming face to face with a titan scared him so bad he retreated and took the kids. Eren didn't retreat with those kidnappers despite the disadvantage he was at (he was a child for shits sake). He gave Mikasa the scarf and well we all know what happens. I also would read how Eren was stunted at his age mentality because of his trauma and I do agree and I would add that even though Armin and Mikasa were there for him, they ALLOWED his behavior. They are not at fault of course bc they are kids trying to figure out how to be adults with no parental guidance but everyone around Eren tolerated and allowed him to be how he was (except Jean but you could smell his jealousy and Eren fucking knew it LOL plus he was immature in his own way too) Even Hange, Levi, and Erwin his higher ups made excuses for his attitude. Levi didn't know how to parents he was raised by KENNY fir shits sake and he never spoke of the underground. Erwin was too busy and high up to worry about kids, he was trained to ensure the lives of soldiers and im sorry but that is all he saw them as. We won't even go into Hange who is a mad scientist lol. Furthermore, Eren was always my comfort character and even though i sometimes didn't like how he handled stuff, I GET IT, he had no one to guide him or show him another way and by the time he kissed historia's hand, he realized what he had to do. He was 15!!! when I was 15 I had the emotional range of a walnut and the temper of a bull. That on top of the fact that he knows he only has 8 more years is enough to make anyone want to collapse. No matter 1/2

Prank Calls [Seokjin x Reader]

summary: A prank call that leads to more.

a/n: This is my submission for my “Prank Calls” Prompt from @btsholidaybingo!!

word count: 3.5k

Inside a sparse and dimply lit apartment, you resided, pacing the floor of your livingroom as you listened to yet another stupid caller. A frustrated sigh left you when you were finally able to hang up on the mysterious caller for the ninth time this week, you almost always listened to their whole speel before hanging up either out of pity or from desperately craving some social interaction with someone who isn’t in your inner circle A squeaky laugh ringing in your ears as you mulled over the latest call and tried to focus on anything other than it (ideally, you’d be focusing on your homework). There were so many questions about whoever this prank caller was though. You felt so stumped and didn’t know where to look or what to do. Carefully, you set your phone down on the coffee table before sitting back at your couch where you were supposed to be working on homework.

How had they gotten your phone number?

It wasn't public information. There shouldn't be a way for random strangers just to get your phone number. Someone asking if your fridge was running is not a spam call.

Why did someone have so much fun with pranking you that they have done it nine times?

Who the hell was it?

Why haven't you blocked them yet?

Well... that last one you have an answer for... You just can't bring yourself to. Despite the annoying prank calls and horrible jokes, they were some of the few stranger interactions you'd had in a while... Plus the person had such an attractive voice.

Squeaky laugh and all.

Maybe... if you had the nerves to do more than an instinctual eye roll and hang up you’d have the answers to all of your questions. You could try to strike up a conversation and learn about this random caller… maybe even make a new friend.

You were shy though. Even if you wanted to do more, you didn’t have it in you normally to do that. It’d have to be a rare event to make you be able to actually strike up a conversation with a stranger.

With a deep sigh, you turn back to the tv and pressed play on the random episode of some random show that you were watching as you slowly did some work. You'd be spending the night with Minji and Sunha tomorrow and although you loved them, they took a ton of energy from you… and you had so much homework that absolutely had to be done at some point. You tiredly picked at the secondhand couch before you readjusted the volume to be louder. One of your next door neighbors was causing a ruckus and although you didn’t mind when occasionally interrupted your show, you didn’t want to hear what they were saying… it would be too much of a distractant from the bits of homework you were doing. If you had the energy to interact with people this evening, then maybe you’d have asked them to be quieter or even saw if it was some sort of hall event that you could join in. You didn’t have the energy though and you surely didn’t have any energy to try to insulate your apartment more. For the most part your neighbors were decent at being respectful. It was a perk of living off campus.

Somehow, you managed to do a whole hour more of light homework before another prank call interuppted you (this time with a dumb joke before they hung up) and you figured that even though it was still early (a whopping 2:30 at night!), it would be best to call it an early night.

The next day, you woke up groggily, did some homework, and attended your classes as normal. Well.. it was mostly normal. You went to campus a little earlier than you tend to because you wanted to try one of its cafe’s latest drink that Sunha was gushing about last week. Apparently it was the next best thing since PSL and that even if you weren’t a PSL fan, you had to try it… it wasn’t that good in your opinion but you were also very picky about your coffee and didn’t care for dessert drinks much.

At the end of your school day, you also walked across campus to Minju and Sunha’s shared dorm instead of taking the bus home and enjoying a relaxing night full of doing some more homework and watching a random show. The dorm building and surrounding space was crowded with people having fun and relaxing all around you. At one point, you even had to quickly jump out of the way of a volleyball that someone hit wrong and sent flying. It was an odd sight for you since you didn’t venture to this side of campus often and it showed. You inexpertly maneuvered around people, occasionally staring at the odd sight for a little too long as you struggled to make it to your friend’s dorm. Somehow, you managed to make it to the dorm without bumping into anyone. Cold air blasted you as you entered the lobby space and checked in, no one batting an eye at the visitor. The lobby was grand (for a college), a fancy kitchen that was often shown off for tours (and was chronically dirty) and a large, unlit fireplace greeted you as you looked around. Large group seating areas with worn-in and stained chairs littered the floor, people pulling them every which direction to fit their needs. The best part of the lobby was the two large flat screen tvs that hung over the fireplaces. Some people were sitting and talking in the chairs but most had pulled them around the tvs to watch some movie or show.

Despite your curiosity about what was playing, you simply moved to one of the stools in the kitchen area and sat down. Sunha was coming down to let you up and you wouldn’t figure the show out by the time she arrived anyways.

Sure enough, Sunha came down and before the show’s next scene, you two were walking up three flights of stairs to get to their dorm. A night of movies, food, and gossiping awaiting you. It was a comfortable and fun time and occasionally one of Minju’s other friends would join but tonight you were guaranteed that it was only you three, something you were grateful for..

“You have missed sooo much drama, Y/n-ah. I literally. It is crazy. You know that Kim Seokjin moved out after him and Pak Sooji broke up… well you wouldn’t believe it but since then, she’s had like five different guys over! I am starting to think that the rumors of her cheating are ture.” Sunha started as soon as the door to their dorm was closed, a bag of popcorn and a glass of wine finding its way into your hands as they kept talking, filling you in on everything that you missed.

You weren’t really one for drama but, especially when meeting with Sunha and Minju (after not being able to for a whole month), you humor it some.

“Oh I doubt that! I think they just grew apart.”

“Minju! Growing apart doesn’t include loud fighting as well! My friend, Jisoo, lives next to Pak Sooji. She said there was tons of screaming and yelling the night that Kim Seokjin moved out. She almost called the police apparently.”

“She’s over dramatic. They didn’t have that bad of a fight. I was in the dorm. The walls are thin. There is no way others wouldn’t have known what the fight was about if that was the case.”

You simply nodded along as Minju and Sunha bickered over what possibly happened, content to watch and listen and learn about everything that you apparently missed. You lived off campus and didn’t keep up with the social interactions of everyone on campus anymore. Just those who you enjoyed spending time with. Sunha and Minju quickly went off topic, instead talking about how one of their professors is having a kid and his students were planning a surprise party for him. It was cute and by the end of the night, the three of you had planned the whole party out to a T (even though you hadn’t had a class with that professor in a long while, they were a campus favorite).

It was almost midnight when the first of multiple calls from your prank caller started.

“Hello. We have your pregnancy test results.” They started, a laugh distantly heard in the background.

You rolled your eyes and put the phone on speaker, signaling for Minju and Sunha to listen (they’d heard a little about your prank caller but hadn’t heard any of what they’ve said before), “Yeah? Am I pregnant?”

The prank caller coughed and you heard more laughing, “Yeah. With… with a foodbaby.”

“Oh? Makes sense.” You said lamely, your drunk mind too slow to think of anything but not wanting to hang up.

You heard laughing from Minju and Sunha as well as some on the prank callers end.

“Why do you keep calling me?”

“What? I-I… This is the first time I’ve called, ma’am. I work at the pregnancy clinic… in the… the place where doctors work… the…”

“Doctors office?” Someone near him supplied and Minju laughed again as someone in the background of the call started coughing.

“Yeah! I work at the doctors office.”

“Sure.” You sighed and hung up before rolling over and looking up at your friends.

They broke out laughing immediately, Minju bending over as she laughed so hard, her bed squeaking as she heaved. Laugher struck you as well, your eyes closing with tears as you kept laughing. It was contagious and you soon felt like you couldn’t stop. It was almost too much. You did stop though.

When the number called again.

“Hello. I am Pippinpaddlelopsin.” The prank caller said in an obnoxious accent, “I would like to order a taco.”

“Yeah. We don’t have tacos here sadly.” You started, fuzzy mind trying to think of something to say as you smacked your lips together and looked around the room, “Just… just bolts.”

The person on the other end snorted, “Yeah? How many can I buy then?”

“Uhhh… Just one. Actually… someone just bought it.” You smacked your lips together as you kept talking, eyeing Minju as she barely held her laughter in.

“Shame. Can I get your number instead then?”

“What?”

“Your number… can I get it.”

“No.”

Their laughter this time was more like screeches when you hung up and Minju almost fell off her bed as she cackled. This time though, you weren’t laughing. You were simply staring at your phone before adding the prank caller to your contacts as “Pippinpaddlelopsin”.

If what Minju and Sunha told you was true, you talked to the prank caller and their friends two more times that night. You just so happen to have a very hazy memory of all of it and only know that at one point you asked them for a taco which they didn’t have. There was also a moment after you chugged a glass of water where you called them, said nothing, and promptly hung up.

Sober you wasn’t laughing though. Instead you were grimacing as a number labeled “Pippinpaddlelopsin” texts you the Monday after the large amount of mutual prank calling that happened the night before.

What you didn’t expect was to actually enjoy the texts he sent you. At first, they were more random things, like asking if you wanted a taco at 2am (you said no), but about a month into the random texts, they started to get more personal with “How was your day”s (and actual conversations).

Pippin had apparently learned your name during your mutual prank calling (courtesy of Minju yelling it) yet he still hadn’t given you his name. You did know for a fact now that he was one of your neighbors because he admitted to getting your phone number from the communal bulletin board during one late night conversation. Every once in a while, you’d try to guess who he was and even scared your sweet neighbor down the hall when you momentarily thought that Pippin was him, but he still hadn’t told you who he was. Of course, as he kept telling you that your guesses were wrong, you kept getting closer to finding out who he actually was and you were determined to find out who he was. Minju was adamant that Pippin was your new neighbor Kim Seokjin. Sunha was putting her money on the teen who lived in 304 (who she claims has a large crush on you). You honestly didn’t know who Pippin could possibly be and found thoughts of who he could possibly be taking up your time almost as much as actual conversations with him..

“I am just saying. Call him and invite him over! We can have a girls and Pippin night!” Sunha said for the umpteenth time that night.

They had come over earlier after they’d finished classes and wanted to relax in a larger space than their tiny dorm (which you felt like would feel much later if they just cleaned it up some). It was all fine and dandy until they both started theorizing about who Pippin was and if you and him would ever end up dating (which while you kind of had developed a tiny tiny crush on the anonymous texter, you firmly stated that it would never happen). It was getting annoying. You loved your friends very dearly, but their constant theories didn’t help you and your desire to know who Pippin was.

“No! Pippin is a neighbor! He is probably busy. Besides, our night is for us. Not some boy to crash and sweep Y/n off her feet.”

“I am right here, you know!” You chimed in, rolling your eyes before going back to playing online games on your phone.

“Wait… what are you doing on your phone?”

“Playing games. What else would I be doing?”

“I don’t know! Texting the love of your life maybe?”

“Ok that is extreme.” You laughed anxiously, “Pippin isn’t the love of my life. I barely have a crush on him.”

“So you admit that you have a crush on him!”

“Oh fuck this! Give me your goddamn phone.” Minju sighed anxiously before snatching your phone from your hands and doing something on it.

“What are you doing?”

“Omo!” Sunha exclaimed as she read over Minju’s shoulder, “Omo!”

“What? What are they doing? Sunha!”

Your pleas fell to def ears as the two of them did something to your phone (the longer they had it, the more you started to suspect that they were texting Pippin) and it wasn’t until five minutes later when you finally yelled at them that they gave it back, all the while they were looking like sad puppies.

Even as you scolded them for using your phone without permission, you felt no remorse. They should know better than that and now you had a long apology to send to Pippin as well. Sunha and Minju left shortly after that. You were too upset at them to let them stay and they understood that you needed space. Eventually, you would meet up and talk it over and move on, but for now, you wanted to be angry and you wanted them to think about how rude and invasive what they just did was.

You didn’t check your phone the rest of that night, even the dings of your phone mounted as Pippin messaged you. It was all too much. After almost three hours of trying to calm down, you found yourself in the kitchen, nursing a cup of calming camomile tea and trying to think over the worst case scenarios. Pippin could stop messaging you entirely because of the major breach of privacy that just…

You sighed.

He knew some of your secrets. He could blab about them to whoever listened… but did you really think that Pippin was that kind of person?

A knock at the door stopped you in the middle of more calming breaths. Slowly, you walked over and looked through the peephole, confused as to who would be at your door late at night. It was Kim Seokjin. Your new neighbor who you rarely saw.

Why would he be at your door?

Slowly you opened your door, a confused look on your face and the more you opened the door, the more the confusion grew. He was panting, a thin layer of sweat on his face, and a small potted plant in his arms.

“H-Hello?” You started unsure as to why he was here, “How can I help you?”

“God, Y/n. You confess through text and then don’t respond when I say who I am and that I like you back and when I come to see you all you have to say is that? You’re so fucking adorable.” Seokjin said, a smile growing on his face as he pulled you into a hug.

What?

You confessed through text?

He likes you?

You’d never talked to him though… unless…

He was Pippin?

And did Minju and Sunha confess to Pippin for you?

“Y-your Pippin?”

“Yes, and I want to ask… Will you go on a date with me, Y/n-ssi?”

What?

You took a step back, your mind running at 100 steps a minute before you quickly turned around and ran to your phone. There were probably a hundred unread messages from Pippin… from Seokjin.

How.

You’d been talking to Seokjin this entire time?

What.

In shock you looked back at your door but Seokjin had followed you inside and was looking at you with a concerned expression. You looked between Seokjin and your phone repeatedly, your brain seeming to process the situation slower than molasses. The slowly changing look on Seokjin’s face wasn’t helping either.

“Y-You’re Pippin?”

“I am. I said that in text an hour ago… are you ok, Y/n-ssi?”

Do you tell him that your friends confessed for you?

Shit.

After the breakup he went through recently?

“I… I was so scared after I sent that… the confession that… I… I haven’t checked my phone since. I… I was so sure that you’d shut me down and I… I wanted to prepare myself for that.” You lied, hoping it was believable.

For a second, Seokjin looked more confused than you felt before he nodded, “Well, I’m not turning your confession down. I think I like you romantically too. I want to try.”

You nodded slowly as blush sprung across your face, “That would be nice.”

“Yeah. It would be.”

“So…” Seokjin started before he extended the potted plant for you to grab, his ears a bright red, “Would you want to go on a date with me now? I know it’s late but I’d love to… if you want that is.”

Blush rose on your cheeks more as you accepted his plant, “I-I would love to… Just give me a minute to get ready? You caught me off guard.”

“Of course. Take all the time you need.” Seokjin opened and closed his mouth before he continued, “Is it ok if I wait here or would you rather I wait in my apartment and we can meet when you’re ready?”

“You can wait here. I will be finished soon.” You said before running off to put the plant somewhere and grab a bag to hold your wallet.

In less than five minutes, you were ready and with butterflies fluttering in your stomach, you left with Seokjin on your first date. It was amazing. The next day, you messaged Sunha and Minju and had a conversation about what they did wrong, what they could do better in the future (just not steal someone’s phone and all), and how amazing your date was.

On your third date, you confessed about what actually happened that led to him confessing. He blushed and the two of you had a good laugh (he also seemed glad that you gave your friends a stern talking to after). By the fifth date, you were fairly positive you were madly in love with Seokjin and by the time you two had your sixth date, you found yourself regularly hanging out with him outside of dates. From studying together to getting together with his friends and yours and doing stuff as a large group, you found yourself falling more and more. During your graduation party, Seokjin and you managed to sneak off to your bedroom for some quiet and in each other's arms, you shared “I love you”s. By the time Seokjin graduated undergrad as well and you were well in your grad school, you’d managed to find a nice spacious apartment to share.

Everything was falling into place.

Why yes, of course I do. cosmo x wanda from fop. They were so adorbs together esp in the first 2 seasons. Don't like how they got so flanderized with time, their dynamic was absolutely destroyed, and my day was ruined when I found out.

Dislike the fandom, not the show itself? Probably hzbin hotel. The show has a pretty neat concept and animation and it had such a big impact on my artstyle when I first watched it. But the fandom? Absolute hell. (pun intended)

From shipping wars, to pestering vivz, anything is possible. Glad I haven't actually interacted with that part of the fandom.

Not a show but among us. Back in september/october last year, my tl was FILLED with among us, up and down. Made me a lil tired of it but once I tried playing that game, I couldn't stop. Also the owlhouse, fell in love with the artstyle and story.

To be completely honest, Amydot. Up until s3 they really gave me possible ship vibes. They interacted a lot, and peri discovered her metal powers thanks to amy. But after s3 they hardly ever interacted anymore (besides that one ep from s5 with the kindergarden). I was so dissapointed, but hey lapdot isn't so bad anyway, right?

That one fan made episode from su called the smothering, it was so freaking amazing. It helped a lot in relieveing the pain of that big hiatus from 2017 (which was the biggest one, i literally turned into a skeleton waiting for new eps). Loved peri's needy personality, as well as lappy's playful one. It was so well written, like it could be perfectly fit as a role reversal episode in the main show.

A while back you said “Generally I like to imagine Zim/Membrane as some kind of psychological/paranormal horror story (with most of the horror, of course, being on Prof Membrane’s end)” and I am intrigued. Care to enlighten us on what a darker Zimbrane might be like?

Well, this is the second time I've gotten this exact ask, so sure, why not. I tried to put in a read more and tumblr DELETED IT so i'm trying to edit it back in but if it doesn't stick, I apologize for the long post, I tried my best.

So let's rewind to episode 1 and start off with a full AU. Zim lands on earth and decides not to disguise himself among mere schoolchildren; instead, he does, like, five minutes of research on the planet he's just landed on and decides that the most useful place to infiltrate will be the scientific labs of the planet's greatest genius, so he can properly assess the planet's pathetic technological advancements and defenses and counter them accordingly.

So cut to Membrane labs and that was the last time we're gonna be in Zim's perspective. From now on it's all Membrane, all the time. And what he knows is they've just got a new recent grad ("graduate at what level? bachelor's, master's..." "I am the master of ALL!!" "master's level, cool") working for them. He says his major was in "everything that is known of the sciences on this filthy planet" and that his alma mater is "a university SO advanced you haven't even heard of it!" and like, with credentials like that, he's clearly going to be a great asset to the lab. And he asks so many questions! Clearly he's preparing to work on his doctorate and is prodding around for interesting subjects to write on. Membrane supports this ambitious fellow completely.

But something's odd. The first time his son visits the lab and sees their newest hire, he starts screaming about how he's an alien. Membrane always knew that Dib was a bit... obsessed with his fantasies—hunting for things that don't exist—but Membrane had always comforted himself with the knowledge that claiming he's looking for cryptids and claiming he's found cryptids are totally different things. This... this is a disturbing new development. He's starting to really worry about his son.

Thankfully, New Guy Zim takes it in stride—says he gets this all the time thanks to his skin condition, humans can be sooo gullible. His work isn't disturbed at all.

And wow, what work he does. He sees potential flaws in their lab work and inventions long before anyone else does. Lots of the other employees think he's an obnoxious little know-it-all, but Membrane recognizes his genius for what it is and is constantly amazed at his insights. He's basically the only one who can always keep up with Membrane's latest inventions & creations, understanding the science as easily as though it were elementary to him. And Zim is constantly expressing surprise that Membrane keeps up with his work, which is kind of weird, since Membrane has been doing this a lot longer than fresh-out-of-some-master's-program Zim has. But maybe it's because he's never actually worked in a lab doing REAL SCIENCE before. He's astounded to be around his peers. That's clearly it.

At one point Zim irritably shoves aside another inventor trying to get some doohickey working and with thirty seconds and some crap he pulled out of his backpack he gets a device working that they've been tying to get to function for the better part of a year. Membrane praises Zim effusively. (The inventor, who at this point is sick of Zim's crap, quits on the spot.) And Zim's little eyes light right up.

Suddenly he's inventing new things so fast Membrane doesn't know when he has time to make them—it's like he's just pulling them fully formed out of some closet he's got them all tossed in at home. Membrane is over the moon. His lab's never been this booming. And Membrane's got to confess: when someone is that good at science—possibly better even than Membrane himself—that's... kinda hot. Kinda super hot.

As a bonus, Dib's making more excuses to hang out at Membrane's lab. Membrane is sure that it's to "monitor the alien," but if it means he's exposed to more Real Science, ultimately it's gotta be good for him. At least Dib's hostility toward Zim has cooled somewhat—"I thought he was here to try to take over the planet, but, I dunno, it looks like he's just sharing the wisdom of his alien society with us? Which doesn't seem so bad." He's still totally convinced Zim is an alien, though. Ah, well. And he's determined to convince Membrane, too: "You know that energy absorbing creature thing he pulled out today? Do you have any idea what research he based it on? Like, is this a creation that naturally progresses from any of the current science we've got? You'd know, Dad, you're on top of every new development. So what's this one based on? Isn't it weird that you don't know? As if he's—oh, I don't know—sharing the end product of a field of scientific research that's centuries, if not millennia, farther along than ours?"

And Membrane's got to admit: he has found it weird. He has wondered how Zim just leapfrogs over gaps in their scientific knowledge to seemingly create things based on discoveries no one has made yet. Membrane's assumed that he's just using his own research—research he hadn't shared—but maybe...

No. No, that's crazy. Membrane would be crazy to think it. Zim is just a talented, gifted, genius, normal human.

Who is absolutely ravenous for Membrane's praise.

And thaaat's about the point they start dating.

First it's lamenting about the recent difficulties in the lab together. (They've has a lot of resignations lately, wonder why. But no problem, Zim's had some great success automating the more menial tasks with robot labor...) Then it's hanging out discussing Science, because that's definitely what scientists do in their spare time. Then it's occasionally grabbing dinner together. (Zim's got some weird dietary restrictions, probably due to his skin condition, but Membrane can adapt.) Then it's going to scientific conferences together to save money on hotel rooms but oh no the only room left has only one bed so Membrane's sleeping on the very edge of the bed staring at the wall in the dark going oh shit oh fuck oh hell this is an opportunity here but does he like me like me or does he only like me I am a sweaty hormonal 15-year-old experiencing a first crush and don't know what to do with myself because we've never actually discussed whether we're dating or hanging out

(Membrane sleeps in his full lab wear, minus boots but still in socks, under the blankets, like a monster. Zim spread eagles to take up as much of the bed as possible and stares at the ceiling all night because he's not sure what's involved in human sleep besides lying down and being still.)

Things are going great! They're going great. Except the more time Membrane spends with Zim outside of a lab setting, the more strange Membrane realizes he is. Not in a bad way—it's a very attractive strangeness—but more and more he finds himself wondering...

And then Dib admits he snuck into Zim's house (he snuck into Zim's house?!) and found evidence that actually he is here to take over the world, Dib doesn't know why he's handing over so much of his species's technology but it's got to be a trap of some kind, dad, dad, you've gotta believe him, they've gotta do something—

And then Zim escalates the flirting to the point where it's unambiguous. Like, "hand job in the office when the door is closed" escalates.

Hard to misinterpret that.

At that point it's a torrid, very weird love affair, and Membrane is finding himself increasingly and alarmingly unsure whether Zim is actually into him, or is trying to pump him for information on what work is being done at other major global scientific labs—he can't tell whether Zim likes Membrane or just wants Membrane to like him—but whatever the case, Membrane does like him, even if he's finding him increasingly unnerving, and he's constantly getting the impression that even with all Zim's shown off to him, there's even more he's holding back. But how can that be? How can there be more? It doesn't make sense unless Zim really is...

But he's not, he's not. That's crazy, that's crazy, that's crazy.

At one point in bed (they're in bed now—Zim doesn't like to take his clothes off, doesn't want to be touched between his legs, only gets satisfactions from strange touches and strange actions and Membrane isn't actually sure whether he gets off or not or if he's getting something else out of it, and sometimes he doesn't want to be touched at all, sometimes he just touches and watches—)

At one point in bed, Zim hisses a confession that sounds so true and so sincere that it makes every other thing he's ever said sound a bit more untrue by comparison; he says never in his life has he been appreciated like this, never in his life has he been admired, not once until he got here, never, ever, ever—Membrane's not sure if Zim's trying to say he's grateful, trying to say he's flattered, trying to say "I love you," trying to confess some kind of childhood trauma—because he doesn't say anything more than that. But just from that little bit, Membrane is Deeply Moved.

But also unnerved. What did he mean, "until he got here"? Here from where? Did "here" mean Membrane lab? Did "here" mean Earth?

Because as Membrane is trying to deny it, and as hard as Zim's been trying to distract him (oh, god, is that what Zim's been doing, has this all been an attempt to distract Membrane after Dib broke into his house?), the truth is there's a very large part of Membrane that now, after spending a whole lot of personal time with Zim, now thinks there's more evidence than not that Zim is, in fact, an alien.

This horrifies Membrane. Because there's only two possibilities: either he's wrong, or he's right.

If he's wrong, then that means he's gone nuts, he's let his own son suck him into his delusions when as the father it should be his job to help guide his son's mind, help his son tell true from false; and it means he's in no fit mental state to do REAL SCIENCE, he's in no state to be running a lab, he's probably in no state to be raising his own kids, like he's not sure if "does the parent believe one of the people closest to them is an alien" is a criteria for determining whether a child should be taken from the parents but Membrane would certainly not trust that such delusions wouldn't seep into their parenting and for the sake of his kids he has to hold himself to that same standard; and it means that he's wrongly suspecting his own lover of not being human, which, god, what a cruel thing to think, and over what, a skin condition and some odd behavior quirks, it's the twenty-first century equivalent of conflating mental illness with demonic possession, and is there any possible higher injustice he could do to the man he lo— Does he love Zim?

Is Membrane in love?

But if he's right, if he's right, then it means Zim is an alien. It means Zim is an alien masquerading as a human. It means Zim is not some eager young scientist showing off his brilliance, it means he's... what? Is he here to take over the planet, like Dib says? If so, can Membrane trust anything he's ever done or said? Is he flooding Membrane's lab with new inventions because if he replaces human technology with his own then he can control it? Is Dib wrong, is Zim a benevolent alien sharing his technology? Has his relationship with Membrane been a very dedicated ruse to get close to his resources? Or to distract him from the truth? Or to manipulate him into assisting in his alien agenda?

Membrane doesn't know which possibility is worse.

But he can't go on not knowing.

So he goes to Dib and says, you want me to believe Zim's an alien. Here's your opportunity: prove it. Do your very best. Membrane's listening. With... a reasonably open mind, but not so open his brain falls out.

Dib's over the moon.

Membrane's not sure whether he dreads the possibility that Dib's going to pull out a cork board coveted in unrelated conspiracy theory articles and strings connecting them or the possibility that Dib's going to pull out incontrovertible evidence more. But what Dib says is okay it's infiltration time. Wear something stealthy. Lab coats aren't stealthy, dad. Membrane's like oh good great we're breaking and entering now. Well, if he's going to be entertaining mad theories, then he might as well go absolutely off the deep end with it.

So they break into Zim's house.

The underground base is compelling evidence but maybe he's just... he's just got... a really advanced home lab... Membrane's home lab is pretty advanced too. Dib's like dad PLEASE. Look, on that computer over there he's still got the window open for the order page for that new "invention" he showed off at work last week. He bought it on the internet! The ALIEN internet!

While Membrane's still reeling from that, they run into Zim. Sans disguise. Zim's face goes through about twelve emotions in two seconds, starting with Shocked Beyond Words and ending with Time For A Villainous Monologue. He's like SO! You have seen my TRUE FORM!! You're going to try to STOP ME?!?!?! and membrane's like uh I uh I well uh erm that is, if Zim happens to be planning to take over planet Earth in order to hand it over to some kind of alien empire, then no, Membrane isn't going to let him do that. And Zim's like THEN WE ARE ENEMIES!!!!!!! and Membrane's like oh.

A dumb fight is had. Membrane's sort of in over his head, mainly because he's still reeling from the disbelief that he's been dating an alien. It ends with Zim kicking them both out (rather than, say, killing them—which seems a little odd for an alien hellbent on world conquest, doesn't it?) and then crowing "YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF ZIM!" and packing up his base and vanishing. He's just gone. Surely he hasn't left Earth, but he's relocating to god knows where and they're gonna have a hell of a time tracking him down now.

Membrane needs to go home and go to sleep. (He doesn't get any sleep.)

So that's phase 1 of the story. Phase 2 is Horrified Membrane and Gleeful Dib teaming up to stop Zim. Membrane gets hauled into the Swollen Eyeball and hates it. ("Where do you work?" "NASA Place." "Oh thank goodness, a fellow man of science! What's your field? Astronomy? Engineering?" "Janitor." "Oh.") Zim encounters are far more sparse because all the How To Human knowledge Zim picked up at the most advanced lab on Earth and while trying to convince Membrane one-on-one that he's definitely a normal human have made him much better at evading detection. And every showdown is... emotionally fraught.

Turns out Zim was suppressing half his personality while pretending to be human. This new real Zim is a lot more maniacal. Maniacal Zim is... unfortunately also hot.

Zim doesn't act like he feels anything for Membrane now. Is that because it was all a ruse, or is he concealing his emotions the way he once concealed his true alien self? Is Membrane really picking up on hints of suppressed attraction and yearning and frustration under his efforts to stop Membrane & Dib from thwarting his efforts—or is that just wishful thinking?

When Zim extends an offer for Membrane to join him, is that to throw him off his game, to manipulate him, or due to a sincere desire to not fight him? Is the offer he makes mid battle between one maniacal laugh and the next different from the offer he makes in the dark two inches behind Membrane's ear in the middle of the night when Membrane thought the house was locked and secure?

Did Zim make any of the wonderful toys he used to so impress Membrane? Is he actually an inventor, a scientist, in any capacity? Is he actually scientifically inclined, or was the vast knowledge he showed off equivalent to kindergarten stuff for his species? (And if his knowledge is extraordinary for a human but ordinary for an alien, is it wrong for Membrane to still find himself drawn toward considering Zim extraordinary anyway?) Is Membrane mistaken, or is Zim even now trying to show off with new toys? Is he wrong, or is there pain under Zim's anger when Membrane accuses him of having imported his weapon of the day?

When he insists that they don't need to fight, if only Zim gave up trying to conquer the world they could have productive SCIENTIFIC EXCHANGES between their species, it doesn't need to end with one of them eliminating the other... is he imagining that Zim actually listens for a moment?

Is he imagining that Zim seems reluctant to permanently harm him?

Is he imagining that Zim still flirts with him mid-battle?

Or is it manipulation? Or is it petty cruelty?

Or is it a wishful delusion?

So here's my thing with Season 15 (mostly 15x03, but oh well):

I have mixed feelings.

Every Friday, I set an early alarm so I have time to watch the latest SPN episode before I need to start my day. Today, at 5:26 in the morning, I found myself sobbing in bed because the writers [SPOILER] killed Rowena.

I love Rowena. She is, honest to Chuck, one of my favorite characters. They sent her off really well; she sacrificed herself for the Winchesters. That "Goodbye boys" killed me; I knew she was going to say it, I was expecting it, but DAMN. It got me. I was devastated. She was introduced a queen and she died a queen. I fucking love her so much.

Ketch also died. I wasn't horribly devastated. However, I was really proud of him. When he said "Not for any price" (I don't remember exactly what he said), I was like damn. That..that is what we call character development. And then he got his heart ripped out.

For this next part, I'm sorry. Some people may disagree with me on this but I do not care, this is what I believe: Dean is being a "great big bag of dicks".

Like, seriously. My dude. Don't be pissed at Cas. There was something wrong with Jack; you need to understand that Cas was trying to figure out a way to save him. Yes, it was shitty of him to not tell you, but he is trying to reconcile, and you keep spitting in his face. That's not cool. Remember, yes, you just lost your mom, but he also was just betrayed by his dad. At least Dean knows Mary is at peace; Cas has to deal with the ultimate shit storm that his dad started. He's hurting too.

However, no matter how pissed at Dean I am right now, I really, really hope he comes to his senses quickly. Because, and, sorry for those who don't ship them, Destiel needs to happy. I don't fucking care if all we see is Dean grab Cas' hand or if there's like, I don't know, AN ACTUAL CONVERSATION ABOUT TRUE FEELINGS, it just needs to happen.

That said, I am actually really happy that Castiel stood up for himself. I literally was just like "YEAH, THAT'S MY BABY" when he said he was leaving....but I was also watching in horror because Dean has been such an asshole that the angel that fell (in this case I mean literally fell) for him leaves. You know, and it's funny, cuz I watch Supernatural, but one of my biggest pet peeves in media is when one character takes their anger and grief out on everyone around them and there ends up being a huge misunderstanding which kills the audience. (It's ironic because that's basically every other episode of SPN, but still.)

I did like Belphegor, I do admit. But, honestly, everyone could see his betrayal coming. I still like him though, even though he did end up a crappy guy.

(Also, Cas having to smite Jack's body was DEVASTATING. I wanted to hug him the whole time. Poor baby.)

Sam is legit the sanest one of the bunch right now. I'm really worried about his "God-Bullet-Connection". Like he needs a hug. I'm worried. Also, Jared's performance when Rowena was convincing Sam to kill her gave me chills. Sam crying=me crying=my mom thinking that I'm nuts and very masochistic (I mean like the entire SPN fandom is, sooo...)

It made me very happy to meet Kevin, and I laughed my ass off at the fact that he was considered a "bad boy" in Hell. That is so funny to me, because when he said that I pictured his haircut from way back in Season 7. Speaking of Season 7 Kevin (haha that rhymed), look how far he has come! He was a smol prophet bean and then he became a smol-er ghost prophet bean, not to mention a badass. I'm so proud. (Wipes tear). But I'm not happy he was gone so quickly. It was like "Look guys! There's a wild Kevin! Haven't seen him in a while!" and then it was like "Oh..he's leaving...bye Kevin." [Looks down sadly]....But I was glad to see him while it lasted. I'm also really happy Osric got that role on Legends of Tomorrow. Haven't seen him on TV in a while.

I want original Charlie back even though she probably won't be. But Eileen is coming back and I'm happy with that.

I'm curious about Michael and Adam and when they're showing up.

AMARA KILLS ME. Okay, sue me, I've always liked her, even though she basically stalked Dean for the entirety of Season 11. But I've always liked her. And you know what? Emily Swallow is GREAT in Season 15. Chuck came in and was like "Hey sis I did something" and she shut him DOWN. I also love how she's living it up in Vegas. That shit's funny. She walked out on Chuck and I love that.

I have nothing to say about Chuck. To put it lightly, I'm upset with him right now.

All that said, I am really excited for the rest of Season 15. Dean needs to get his shit together and apologize to Cas, Sam...I hope you're gonna be okay, like seriously, Cas...good luck on the Dean front and good luck with your dad. Kevin, I miss you, Rowena, you are a QUEEN, Ketch, I am proud, Belphegor flirted with Dean, I NEED MY GIRLS BACK, Michael and Adam, congrats on being topside, Amara slays, and Chuck....stop.

(I'm sorry if you read this. I'm on a 9 hour car ride with my brother and he's listening to an audiobook on streetfighting in the 1940s and I needed to rant. Sorry for any spelling errors.)

Edit: My brother just asked me what I was doing for the past hour and I showed him this post and he said, "YOU COULD'VE DONE YOUR HOMEWORK THREE TIMES OVER AND INSTEAD YOU DID THIS?!" And then I was like, "YES." lmao

Latest Supergirl Episode

Ok! First off I have got to stop sitting up until 4am to watch the episodes!

Now:

. I love that Lena and Kara are going to Kasnia together, go Team Supercorp!

. Downside? Alex the DEO agent who only a few episodes ago was absolutely against Kara her civilian sister getting involved in dangerous things KNOWS she's going to Kaznia to hunt down Lex Luthor with only Lena as back up? And she's OK with this?!

. Omg! I am living for Alex and Kelly! They've had more build up to a potential relationship in this one episode than GuardianCorp did their entire screen time together!

. So it sounds like James is going to keep these powers from the way Kelly was talking about how he won't crumble like them? Plus why bother training him if he's just going to lose them ? *Gigantic Sigh*

. Alex is was going to get a baby! My heart!

. Hang on a sec.... I LOVE Lena, but this is a lady who has expressed her fear of flying. Yet she builds self flying planes, is completely sound with having no pilot but can also apparently fly a plane and make emergency landings? Exactly when did Lena 'im afraid of flying' Luthor learn to do this?

.How exactly did Kara get out of that plane without Lena noticing? I mean I'm no expert but surely a door to a plane opening in mid flight would be noticed?

. Of course Lena didn't see past the lobsided glasses. Was pretty funny to see Kara like that though 😂

. Lena and that death stick! I would just tell her what she wanted to know!

. Dreamer wanting to hit James with a hammer! Ha same Nia! I got a real sense of satisfaction watching that.

. Brainy! He's to cute!

. Why on Earth was the Harun El so accessible to the COL agents? Brainy, Alex and Col Haley didnt think for one second "you what we should hide? That Harun El we've been working on! Dont want that landing in the wrong hands!' *eye roll*

. Ben Lockwood did you really just ditch your son at his own mother's funeral?

. I honestly thought Kara was going to find a file on Adam and have an awkward conversation with Lena there.

. Kara reacted a bit to that Kryptonite but not half as much as she normally does 🤔

. Oh for RAO's sake Kara! The more you try to protect Lena by not telling her who you are the more you put her in danger?

. Kara why the hell did you go back to burn a room Lena wasn't going to see and was about to blow up anyway?

. All the photos of Supercorp on the walls though?!

. Wait why did Kara give her tape recorder to Lena at all?

. I was going to question why on a mission like this Lena would still be wearing killer heels but I got my answer! So she can store a freaking sword on there!

. I feel like we were cheated out of a scene of watching Lena do hand to hand combat wile hobbling on one heel though

. So many Eve's! Love it!

. Lena freaking out because she thought Kara had been blown up!

. Oh so that's why Kara gave her tape recorder to Lena who had no reason at all to have it, so it would save her life!

. I legit held my breath and thought for one horrible moment they were going to kill Lena!

. OK I was about to shout at Kara for letting Lena believe that she could have been killed but then she said she wouldn't have been!

. My heart was pounding when Kara stood up, took off her glasses and posed!

. I screamed 'turn around Lena!'

. But what we got was another scene of Lena talking about being betrayed etc. Etc. Look I love Lena! But this is getting so repetitive that I'm not feeling it anymore .

. Of course Kara didn't tell her

. Kara made the wrong decision here. I get that she want to tell her afterwards. It makes sense because it's probably better to break Lena's heart AFTER the crisis. But Kara said herself to James that Lex knows. Eve also knows and so does Lillian. Again anyone one of those three people could tell Lena at any point and Kara is just ignoring this and hoping they won't? Eve could have told Lena there are then in that bloody bunker. It will hurt more if the tell her about before Kara does.

. OK so if you're a citizen of National City do NOT under any circumstances park your car on the side of the road. Because a super hero will use it as ammunition and you won't be reimbursed for it. Because apparently super heroes worth superpowers can't use said powers when needed.

. Look I'm no Ben Lockwood fan, but can we please stop having the 'heroes' throw things at the bad guys that could potentially kill them? James had no idea what that Harun El would do to Ben, they we're literally testing the effects a completely different dose had on him at the start of the episode. Same with throwing him into that truck. They had idea he wouldn't burn to death!

. Brainy had such wonderful moments on this episode. Being nice to Lockwood and understanding his grief. Standing up to him then getting the DEO agents to stand down .

. Jonn? He talked about how Manchester was the cause of his own destruction? Sooo it's been agreed on the show that Jonn's murder of a disarmed man because he got pissed off is being ignored and Manchester's death was entirely his own fault?

. Alex didn't get the baby! I had hoped for a second that they we're going to say it was twins.

. So they brought back Alex who has basically been ignored just to break her poor heart?

. Alex and Kelly have so much chemistry I didn't even realize it seemed Alex didn't know she was gay

. Poor Kelly! 😭

. Sooo there's a massive chunk of Kryptonite in the Oval Office and Kara is completely uneffected??

. Well the president betrayal is hardly a surprise

So in conclusion, this episode was good but not fantastic. I liked the Kara and Lena team up, but the rest was all over the place.

Today has been frustrating. That’s all I’m going to say. Well, it started off nicely, I did something I was proud of. Then it went kinda downhill. I’m probably going to make it even worse as soon as I post this...there’s this thing I’ve been thinking about for the past few days. Considering I’m soooo good at communication and expressing my feelings, it’s going to end up great, you can bet.

Sarcasm aside, let’s talk about my legacies:

I just queued the rest of part one of Gen 6! It’ll run for like 40 more days though.

After that, I’ll finally post the first generation of my BPR, almost a year after starting it. I know what you’re thinking, I’ve been posting TS3 for months, I should switch back to TS4 now, it would be fair, and yes, I thought about that too. But I kinda really want to get rid of the BPR. Gen 1 is finished and I don’t want to keep it to myself anymore.

As for gen 3 of NSB, I haven’t been playing it too much recently. I’ll play it a lot in June though, I hope. As soon as the exam chaos is over.

I’ve also made some decisions about Roses, but I’ll talk about these later. There’s still a high chance I’ll change my mind.

Besides, when do I not make decisions about Roses? They’re on my mind way too often. It can’t be healthy.

Update: I’m still not done with my replies but I just got a message from my teacher, saying that I did well on the English writing exam! I don’t know the exact grade but yay me. I mean, I knew I was going to do well on this one, but finally seeing I passed feels much nicer than “oh yeah, I’m confident about my English, there’s no way I can fail”. The way this exam system works...I was worried it wouldn’t scan properly or some crap. In the past, people had problems with that.

Update 2: Still writing the replies but I just found out that apparently I got 100% on the exam. Holyyyyy crap.

If it makes you feel better, I’m constantly rethinking how I should have posted my story too. I think it’s why I’m enjoying doing these mini photo shoots for Gen 2. It’s glimpses into their life that I didn’t fully express in my story.

I feel like everyone does this, they get great ideas when it’s too late to change it. Some people are just better at moving on, I guess. Not that I want to move on from gen 4, nope.

Usually it’s the other way around :D Yeah, it was great to watch. I was expecting to be disappointed but not surprised, but actually...if I’m not mistaken, that’s our best score with Sweden ever. And then with Norway, we did great too...too bad we lost with Russia today. There were so many chances and not a single goal...but oh well, it’s just one game. It doesn’t mean anything. I hope.

I haven't watched this season yet. �� I keep saying I'm gonna sit down and binge it, but haven't done it. Maybe I'll do that Wednesday.

Oooh, I’m not sure if I would be able to binge watch it. Every episode left me feeling overwhelmed with thoughts and emotions, doesn’t matter if they were negative or positive. Actually, I don’t think this season is as bad as so many people online say...it’s not perfect but nothing is. 🤷‍♀️

Then again, speaking of binge watching, I was able to watch the previous seven seasons in less than a month last year, so maybe it is possible.

I’m not sure how I felt about it. Like I’ve said already in this post, today has been frustrating and this episode contributed to that. There were some things that bothered me, some decisions that bothered me, oh and there was a great example of character development going to hell (that really disappointed me tbh), but overall...idk, I guess I still kinda enjoyed it - I mean, as much as one can enjoy this tv show. It was brutal.

I’m not going to talk about it all in depth though, I could spend whole evening with that and I don’t want that haha :D

I’ve reached the latest episode.

It was sooo good!!! Finally! After 12 episodes, we finally have a look into Kakeru’s past and the reason behind Sakaki’s ire. And I love the direction they had with this episode! The last scene was a tad bit cliche, but everything else was great!

There’s something that caught my attention, but before we get on to that, I would like to say that this is definitely among my top 2018 anime. The characters are the best! The writing is good. And I just love the music. But now I need to wait one episode per week T_____T

Okay, so! Kakeru is basically Ryuji, without the carefree/yankee attitude and the fact that Ryuji’s club got disbanded. It makes me wonder if this is a common occurrence. Like, sure there are always teachers you hate at school. There are always teachers who seem to regardlessly push their students into breaking point. Teachers who don’t care about low-achievers. Teachers who can only see, and want, their way. And most of the time, you just suck it up because there’s no other way and do what you’re told, or you disregard what your teacher say and--as a guy in Kakeru’s past said--act like you’re trying when they’re watching. But when a lot of people hate someone so earnestly, sometimes they could band together and go to face someone with authority to report of the improper treatment they are receiving.

Violence is never the answer, and hitting your teacher--no matter how justifiable your action is, no matter what reason you had for it--is bad. You get yourself in trouble and most of all, you get everyone you’re concerned with in trouble. Your teammates, classmates, group--whatever they are, they will surely receive a punishment too. Still, I would think that if everyone hates this one person, and then someone just up and broke that person’s nose, they would still band together to receive their punishment, or they would try to speak up and say that “He did it for us!” (At the very least, that is one possibility).

But Kakeru didn’t have a friend in his club to begin with. For one thing, he’s their ace. For another, the coach gave him special treatment. He would punish everyone while let Kakeru go unscathed. That only widened the discrimination his teammates felt. So when Kakeru went up and hit his coach on the face after seeing the way he treated his teammates and the way he discriminated him from his teammates, no one came to his defense. Because “What the hell? We’ve been putting up with his bullshit for years so we could run and have a chance to enter competitions and you ruin it!”

Not one came to his defense. Not that he asked for it (though this is yet to be explored. He did say that he might have done that for his own self-satisfaction, but that might just be his own justification and self-deprecation because he regretted his action in someway though he knew he would have done it either way). And to make it worse, everyone blamed him for what happened to the club afterwards. Like, sure, he’s wrong. Hitting a teacher is wrong, whatever his reasons were. And he is partially to blame, but could it be possible that not one among them felt glad that Kakeru did what he did? That someone might have wished that they were the one to have hit the coach’s face and broken his nose? Yet no one came, and the conclusion to the incident was: Kakeru was ostracized even more than before.

The same thing happened to Ryuji (P5). He hit Kamoshida because he was sick of his treatment toward his teammates and yet when he hit him that resulted in the club’s disbandment, everyone turned their hatred toward him, instead of Kamoshida. Saying that they were putting up with “Kamoshida’s shit” yet Ryuji ruined all their effort.

Their effort to endure any hardship without complaining, even when their complaint was justifiable.

It made me think that maybe this is a Japanese trait. I read once (through a youtube video, the credibility of which is questionable) that Japanese people tend to hide their emotions and stress behind their smiles. That they tend to not think about their exhaustion and fatigue until it reaches the point where they can’t move anymore. I don’t know if this is true or not, or if this holds any truth in other people, but if it is, then it explains a bit why there are stories like these.

How A Non-American Western Girl Met Bangtan…pt.1

My journey into this beautiful, endless black hole that is Bangtan Sonyeondan, funny enough, began with despising and ridiculing anything related to Korean dramas and K-pop. I distinctly remember in June of 2016, driving my cousins (one older than me, the other younger) to the mall as they animatedly talked about Lee Min Ho and whatever the latest K-Drama was. Me? I was busy rolling my eyes and trying not to bash them too much. I mean….why on Earth would a show named Cheese In A Trap be remotely watchable?! I just didn’t get what they saw in those dramas. And no it wasn’t the language barrier since we all grew up watching Bollywood movies in my cosmopolitan country. I just…didn’t get it and I didn’t care.

Probably fed up of my constant jokes, by July my younger cousin convinced me to watch just one episode of a K-Drama. Just one, she said, and see what you think. I decided to humor her. So one Friday night, we loaded the first episode of Heirs (she said I would love this series) and all the while I was still internally rolling my eyes.

I admit this….I laughed and cringed. The language sounded weird. Everybody looked alike. The music was not my taste….but the acting was good. Really good. So I watched. By the end of the episode, the language still sounded funny (too animated), Lee Min Ho just changed his hairstyle and I thought he was a different actor, the music was still cringy to me…but I wanted to watch more. I finished that entire series that weekend. And I loved it! I laughed, I cried, I went on an emotional rollercoaster and I wanted more.

By my second K-Drama (they were both now laughing at me at this point) my ears were used to the language and my eyes could tell the difference between actors now (or if they were simply the same actor just with a different hairstyle). However, the music was still not my cup of tea. I just didn’t like the music. And again, it had nothing to do with language. I grew up listening to Bollywood music too. I just didn’t care for it. And any time I would research actors or dramas on YouTube, and mentions of ‘idols’ popped up, I would glance, judge and skip. I wasn’t interested in, well, to be frank, guys that looked prettier than me.

It wasn’t until my fourth K-drama (Cinderella and the Four Knights), in early January 2017 that I finally decided to give Korean music a listen to. I liked one of the OST songs a lot so decided to check it up on YouTube. The artist I discovered, was a band called BtoB. So, like I do with every new artist I discover, I searched for any and all songs by them I could find. I can’t recall exactly what I found but a few things stood out to me. The first was me getting annoyed with YouTube recommendations when I wanted BtoB but kept getting stuff on whatever or whoever was BTS. Literally! These three letters were everywhere! But I didn’t care. I wanted BtoB. The next thing was that I really didn’t find any other of BtoB’s music to my liking. Not that it wasn’t good. It just wasn’t what I liked. So I didn’t bother anymore. Maybe me liking a Korean song was a one-time thing, a flash in the pan. I guess my first instincts were right and I really didn’t like Korean music. So I left it there.

Fast forward a couple of weeks later in late January. While casually browsing through YouTube for no particular video, a recommendation pops up. Youtubers react to K-Pop. My brain went like “Why the hell not?” So I clicked. Don’t ask me who the reactors were. Don’t ask me who the other K-pop groups or songs were. All I can remember is my jaw literally dropping (I kid you not) at those first couple of bars of Blood, Sweat and Tears. I could not believe a K-pop song could sound this amazing! Because not only did I have a preconceived notion about K-dramas but I also had a lot, A LOT, about K-pop.

This was my thought process ‘pre BST’. Even before that drive to the mall, my cousin had mentioned one day that she uses K-pop songs as dance songs for her Infant Year class (she is a teacher) because it gets them hype. I remember her attempting to show me an MV. I don’t remember the song or group (though I remember it being a boy group). And knowing what I know now, apparently my knee jerk reaction was exactly like everyone’s first time reaction at seeing and hearing a K-pop song when from this side of the hemisphere. You name it, I said it and thought it all. Everybody looks alike! There were just three guys…where did the other four come from?! Are they multiplying?! Why are there sooo many?! Why are they dressed like that? Why do the guys look like girls?! And worse….the songs sounded so bubble gummy and cringy. I was turned off! It just wasn’t the kind of music I was accustomed to listening here in the western part of the world. And so I never gave K-pop a spare thought. Hell, it had never even registered to me that Psy was Korean, singing a K-pop song (and I am sure I wasn’t the only one). So, going into the reaction video that night, these were my preconceived notions about K-Pop. But BTS and BST blew them all out of the water.

That was the moment! Not the moment I fell for BTS, no. That would come later. But that was the moment I realized that maybe, just maybe, K-pop wasn’t that bad.

And believe it or not...but it would take me a few groups before BTS was anywhere near my radar again.

Episode #8: Stop Worrying About the Kickback and Just Fire Your Shot Already -Autumn

I was worried for what over that last tribal lol. So Tyler was blindsided and it was kinda heartbreaking espicially when Mitch said "he really loved this game" like I was genuinely sad. But it's time to smile now cry later because holy moly I just fucking did that. I think at the moment, I am golden. I have bonds with everyone BUT Mitch. And I know Mitch isn't going to fall for my tricks if I tried it with him. So my only other option is to kill Mitch. And hopefully we have this last round before we merge because, I really wan't Mitch gone at this point. He is first of all amazing a competetions, and he is smart. And I don't wanna have to deal with it when it's going to be harder to get done.

Operation get Tyler out was a success. But now the hosts want to kill me with flash games. HOW RUDE!!

Okay so Tyler got voted out andddd i'm upset cus I wanted to take it to the end with him. The other tribe is shady as fuck and Heather is clearly with those faves. The fans are horribly outnumbered now so I need to put my trust in Eddie, Drew, and Autumn going forward so that I'm not a sitting duck at merge. If I can stay close with my alliance with Eddie and Autumn, and stay close with Drew/Trixie/Shoib, then hopefully I'll be in a good position.

I can't remember if I submitted a confessional so I'm gonna write one just in case!!!!! So today autumn and Eddie messaged me saying that people are trying to form an alliance without me autumn or Matt in it. So the goal rn is to get the 4 of us together on this vote. Unfortunately that means I have to vote drew, who I really did want to get closer with this game but he not against voting me out so I can't feel too bad. Oh well, hope this works fingers crossed. Hoping that by the end of the night I'll be in a new alliance called BEAM- Bec Eddie Autumn Matt!! BEAM MOBILIZE ON 3. 1 2 3 big moves only playa playas!!

Okay so we lost the challenge sadly. I'm nervous this round just because I think we're merging next and I really want to make merge. My alliance of Eddie/Autumn were indifferent to voting out Trixie or Matt, but I am pushing for Matt to go. I trust Trixie way more than him and I can't have another fan leave pre-merge. I talked to Drew about it and he doesn't seem too close to Matt, which is good. But he keeps bringing up the fact that Autumn/Ben are close, and Autumn somehow knows he was talking shit, so there's animosity there. Matt going is the best outcome this tribal for me. I think he has connections with the other tribe who I do not trust AT ALL besides Shoib. I am not going to let that tribe gain another number if we merge next. It still seems up in the air though, how the others want to vote. So I'm seriously just going to hope for the best and that they listen to my reasoning for voting out Matt over Trixie.

So we are down to 4 fans and TBH I am not worried. I trust a lot of the faves especially Mitch and Julia. I just hope that Trixie survives tribal on the other side, I trust her 100% and as much as I don't want the idol played I hope she does play it if she is in danger.

SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED WHERE DO I BEGIN!!! First of all, rip my baby Tyler he was swapfucked and I know that life all too well. Second of all I'm so happy we're going to tribal so I can do what I've been waiting to do for the past 5 rounds and clock Drew haha. Third of all everything is falling into place and I'm so excited I just need everyone to stick to the plan. Ok here we go: Last night, I had a group call with Jake and Eddie; Jake was very adamant that we keep Trixie and Drew. So naturally I didn't talk any shit I was just like oh I know Drew thinks me and Ben are close when we really are not but otherwise he's cool. So we hung up and we said we should discuss tomorrow but it'll probably be Matt. Morning comes and Eddie tells me that Jake and Drew are creating an alliance w/ him and Trixie. So I was like oh really? This sends at the exact same time that I say "highkey we should split up Jake and Drew." So Rebecka tells the tea to Matt and asks me if I want the three of us to be in a group chat. Obviously I say yes so now me, Matt, and Rebecka are in an alliance called BAM trying to stay alive. Eddie then works to gain the trust of Rebecka and Matt so now they're cool with him and know that he's with us. Now we have a new group called BEAM with Eddie so we out here. SO everyone is nervous about a) what Trixie knows, b) who Trixie will vote with, and c) which deal will she expose (if any at all). Half the tribe thinks Matt is going home while the other half knows Drew is actually going home and I'm nervous that Trixie could blow it all up, especially because we don't need her vote. Soooo who knows what she'll do but if she does vote Matt and rolls with the mens, I'll just do damage control. Anyway, Rebecka and I are finally succeeding at working together, my target is leaving, me and my homies making merge, another man isn't, and I'm one step closer to beating my placement and taking that title. yo dog!! finally some craziness is happening and the game is afoot. I was totally willing to be Nice Matt to merge, just do as I'm told and chill in the background, but for WHATEVER reason these bozos thought it would be a great idea to form a 4 person alliance, leaving 3 people on the bottom, right before merge. Like, the entire point of a merge is to have numbers!! For the my third straight tribal council I do believe I will be getting some votes thrown on me, but I'm down to clown and ready to save myself. The beast has been awaken and the game is on! This blindside attempt on me could actually end up being an ideal situation, given that I can make it out alive. It brings me closer to Rebecka and Autumn, who are without a doubt my two favorite people in this game (along with Julia), and pushes forward the alliance that I wanted once we started. The only thing that's questionable is that my fate is resting in the hands of Eddie. In Emathia, our roles were basically flipped; I controlled his fate, and I'm a big reason he ended up getting blindsided pre-merge. Right now I just have to put all of my trust into him, but I'm hoping that his willingness to work with Rebecka and Autumn will bring him closer to me and prevent any sort of "revenge" vote from happening. If all goes well, we're sending out a big threat right before the merge. I have a great track record with turning the tables back around on Drew after he tries to blindside me, it's actually one of my favorite hobbies, so I'm anxious to see if all of this is going to work out!! If not, rip 2 me, it was litty.

He wants to be Aubry Bracco but he playing like fucking Joe and Debbie and I don't have time. Can somebody tell me how the hell I became the swing vote? All of a sudden Jake, Drew, and Trixie want me to vote with them and Autumn, Rebecca, and Matt want me to vote with them. I'm siding with Autumn Rebecca and Matt and I'm voting out my good buddy Drew and I do really feel bad about it. I was hoping we could either win or I could spare him until the merge cause I definitely wanted to get him there but the cards didn't fall the way I wanted them to. I think this is like highkey messy cause I really don't think Jake is going to trust us anymore after this and it's almost like a damned if you do damned if you dont kind of situation. No matter what I do here there will be some sort of aftermath that comes with it. I just have to hope and pray for the merge because I don't feel comfortable on this tribe cause Jake is going to be pissed and Autumn and I might become targets for playing the middle this round. It sucks that I have to lie to Jake because I consider him one of the people that I am closest to in this game and I really want us to have full trust for one another but now I feel like that's damn near impossible. Autumn wanted to just completely blindside him but I pushed her into agreeing to at least tell him before the tribal because we have a merge coming soon and we can't afford to be making enemies. I really hope that my damage control with Jake will work. But I'm smart enough to know that he's smart enough to know we're bullshitting him. He doesn't seem like the kind of player to give you another shot. He'll definitely play like he's going to give you another shot but once you betray him once, you're over to him. I really don't know how I feel voting Drew over Matt. I kinda really just want to vote Matt out but I'm already way to deep into this plan to blindside Drew that I will be exposed for being a double crossing snake for flipping on both sides at one point nofnfnkls. Matt seems to have a lot of connections on the other tribe which is trouble and I think will definitely bite me in the ass come merge. Autumn seems to think she's 100% totally in with them but we'll see how that holds up come merge. We have know idea if they're just going to ditch us for their old allies, a scenario which could very well be the case. I feel that Drew does trust me and that he wants to work with me going forward in this game but I'm not sure how far he'll let me get into the merge. He knows I'm a dangerous social player and he knows what I'm capable of. I'm ready for the fire works tonight. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I was blindsided, but that's just my paranoia. That's all and if we don't merge next round I'll be fighting one of the hosts!

So my ass goes to tribal twice this premerge. Both times I vote out a Favorite. They are the only two tribals where a Favorite will be going home premerge. I love being the champion of equality and justice in this world. If you're looking for the reason why a fan won this game, it's me. It's right here. I am doing that and will continue to do that.

Chicago Fire Round Table S5 - Purgatory

I hope you all survived yesterday’s Chicago Fire-less Tuesday and welcome to the latest installment of the Chicago Fire Round Table. This past week’s episode, Purgatory, was quite different from a normal CF episode but it gave us some great moments with our favorite first responders. Let’s dive into this week’s discussion and talk about this interesting and out of sorts episode!

Q1. Severide ended up not taking the job in Springfield after all. Did you agree with his decision? What do you think happens next with Anna?

Lantetrain: Yes, I totally agree with Severide’s decision to stay. It's his home and after what the house went through, it reinforced his decision to stay. As for Anna, we haven't seen the last of her. I've got a feeling she will be coming to Chicago. Texterlover: I am glad Kelly didn't take the job in Springfield. The show wouldn't be the same without him. Sharkygirl74: Honestly I thought Severide's SL was a bit of a waste of time. We all knew he wasn't leaving 51 so why entertain the idea for so long if we already knew the ending? Sarrabr_4: I agree with Kelly because his heart is really in Chicago but I think if they're meant to be, things will work out for both of them (I saw preview pics sooo loll). Nikita_Citizen: Yes! We all knew he wouldn't have taken the job, especially with everything going on at the firehouse, but it would have been interesting to see him in a different environment. I hope nothing happens with Anna LOL, still hoping this storyline ends very soon. Since he's not going to Springfield, I guess she'll come visit. I really have no clue about where this is going though. Kwanfan1212: I did agree with his decision, everyone at 51 is his family, but I think Anna will show up in Chicago sometime soon. Their story is definitely not over yet!

Q2. Brett and Kidd got stuck at Kidd’s former house with a horrible Captain. They ended up helping their candidate find her passion for firefighting again. Did you enjoy their interactions at that house? Were you happy that she didn’t quit?

Lantetrain: I loved the Brett and Stella storyline helping the female candidate at 27th find her passion. It showed us what it was like for Stella when she was there before she came to 51. And I'm happy the female candidate decided to stay. Texterlover: I really liked the interactions between Stella, Sylvie, and the candidate. I really liked when Stella stood up for the candidate. It showed true girl power. I'm happy the candidate didn't quit because she realized her passion and wasn't going to let anyone stop her. Sharkygirl74: I'm glad Brett and Kidd got to work together and I’m glad they touched on sexism in the fire department. It's a big thing in real life and I'm glad she didn't quit at the end. Sarrabr_4: I love their interaction with the girl and if I'm not mistaking, there's a spot open on truck at 81 so I would love to see her end up there eventually. She would be a great addition to 51. Nikita_Citizen: I found those interactions a bit boring to be honest but I'm glad that she didn't quit. And I love that Stella stood up for her. I'm sure it made all the difference in the end. Kwanfan1212: I did enjoy their time at the other house (even with the annoying Captain) and that they were able to help Missy there. I’m very glad that she didn’t quit and I think she’d be an awesome addition to 51 someday!

Q3. Casey and Severide were ready to go down the rabbit hole to find stuff on Anderson to help get their teams back. Do you think you would have been willing to do something bad if it meant helping your friends?

Lantetrain: Hell yeah, I would totally get myself dirty if it meant that my house was back to what it should be. Texterlover: I think I would because I would do anything for my friends especially if I was insanely close to them like firehouse fifty-one. They are truly like a family. Sharkygirl74: Yes, no question. Sarrabr_4: Maybe not do something bad but they had to do whatever it took to get 51 together because Chicago is safer with 51 all together. Nikita_Citizen: I think that if I really had no other choice, I would do it but only as a last resort. Otherwise I wouldn't do it. Even if Chief said yes to Casey and Severide, I'm sure that deep down, he hoped to find another solution. Kwanfan1212: I’m always willing to help my friends but it would have to be something really drastic to make me break laws or do something that extreme.

Q4. Chief Boden did everything he could to help his firehouse family but it took him simply doing his job to find a way to get his team back. Tell me your thoughts on how that story turned out. Do you think we’ve seen the last of Chief Anderson?

Lantetrain: My heart was breaking for Boden at the beginning to see his house split up and him trying to do things the right way to get the team back, but I'm very happy that it took the chief saving a prominent member of city council to get 51 back. It showed how awesome Boden really is being a chief and leader. I don't think we’ve seen the last of Anderson. I think he's going to pop up again but Boden and the house will be ready. Texterlover: I want to say yes but with this show I've learned to expect the unexpected. So who knows, we may see him again. Sharkygirl74: I was surprised that it was as short as it was tbh. I thought if they were going to split everyone up it would have lasted at least more than one episode. We probably haven't seen the last of Chief Anderson. Oh, and also, can we stop with the threats against 51 in general please? At least once a season it's at risk of something being closed down, Boden being arrested, and now everyone split up. It's getting really old. Ok I'll stop now. :) Sarrabr_4: I doubt that Anderson will go away that easily but he can bring it. 51 will be ready for him and like many before him, he won't be able to break them cuz they've had shit thrown their way over the years and they've always come back stronger. Nikita_Citizen: I love how it turned out. Anderson should have known better, what goes around comes around. As always, Chief put his firehouse family first "Leaders lead from the front". Anderson should try that! I honestly don't know if Anderson will come back. Usually people who threaten Boden never come back but Chief Anderson really wants to make him pay. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Kwanfan1212: I loved how that turned out and that the reunion happened because Boden was his usual badass self on a call. I’m also glad that he didn’t have to resort to desperation to get his house family back because that is SO not his style. I’m not sure if we’ve seen the last of Anderson. It wouldn’t shock me to see him again but it also wouldn’t surprise me if he steered clear of Boden out of fear, LOL ;)

Q5. Gabby ended up having to deal with Chout on Ambo 61 amongst all the personnel changes in the house. Which person did you feel the worst for in their new assignment?

Lantetrain: I really felt bad for Cruz and Capp being at the call center. It was totally out of their element and you can tell they were miserable. But I think 51 house with their replacements was the worst. Texterlover: I loved the Chout and Dawson interactions actually! LOL I think the firefighters they had replacing squad and truck were not exactly fit for their jobs. Sharkygirl74: Um, I probably felt the worst for Brett and Kidd. I loved Chout coming back! Him hitting on Gabby and her flashing the ring! LOL Sarrabr_4: Oh God Chout was HILARIOUS but I felt more bad for Capp and Cruz at the 911 call center, being so far from the action but not being able to help (at least in the beginning). At least everyone else was on the field from the get go. Nikita_Citizen: I felt the worst for Stella and Sylvie. That firehouse was the complete opposite of 51 and their Captain was really awful and out of line. An absolute asshole! And Gabby too, I guess. It's like she developed an allergy to Chout, aka sunshine overload. It was hilarious! Kwanfan1212: They all had horrible experiences but I felt the worst for Stella who had to go back into a horrible environment and watch someone else get the bad treatment from that asshat Captain. Chout and Gabby actually cracked me up (”I’m married now” *flashes ring and smirky smile*) so I thought that part was some good comic relief through a tense episode.

Q6. The big hotel fire brought the team back together again on a call. Which part of that rescue was your favorite? Were you surprised at who ended up being among the rescued in the end?

Lantetrain: I totally loved that fire scene at the end. To see the team come together again only reinforced that 51 is the best house ever and I was shocked to see that Otis finally got to save the day and finally get his story to tell. Texterlover: I loved the big hotel rescue because it bought the family back together. I also liked how they showed the crews including Boden and Otis that were willing to risk everything to save people. I think this show highlights how selfless first responders are and that's one of the reasons I love it so much. Sharkygirl74: Glad to see the team work together again at the fire! It was a big call and I have to admit watching it, it had a different 'feel' to it…the way it was set up? Maybe that's just me? Cool that they rescued Deputy Mayor! (I think that's who it was.) Glad that he was able to get all of 51 back together! Sarrabr_4: I'm not surprised that they all ended up in the rescue, even our boys at the 911 call center, and Otis who was told to stay back. It's in their blood to help and they couldn't stay there and watch while their family was saving lives. Nikita_Citizen: Otis following the Chief and saving the day! That was pretty awesome. And Chief rescuing the deputy mayor. It's great when he gets to run into burning buildings every once in a while. The whole scene was just amazing. 51 was in a way reunited and saving lives. I was indeed very surprised at who was trapped inside the ballroom and never thought this would be the solution to Boden's problems. Well done. Kwanfan1212: I loved it all but my favorite part was Boden going into the fire and saving that guy from the ballroom. I love when Boden gets to be a badass and get involved in the action! I was surprised who the guy ended up being but it thrilled me because I immediately knew what Boden was going to ask him to do instead of giving him a medal for the rescue.

Q7. What was your favorite scene from Purgatory? Least favorite scene? Did anything special stick out to you?

Lantetrain: I loved everything about tonight’s episode but hated the whole Chief Anderson stuff. Man, he was a prick. Totally worse than McLeod and Pridgen put together. But I have to say that Gabby hiding out from Chout in Matt’s office was priceless and hilarious. Texterlover: Probably won't come as any surprise because I love Dawsey but Dawson trying to hide from Chout in Casey’s office was definitely one of the best scenes I think. It was just so cute and too funny. I also like the scenes at Molly’s and when the group got back together in the end. Least favorite scene was anything with chief Anderson. He just really annoys me lol. Sharkygirl74: Didn't really have any favorite/least favorite scenes…only thing that stuck out was the different 'feel' to it. I liked it though! Oh and I wanted more Dawsey but that's a given, LOL Sarrabr_4: Favourite scene had to be 61 in that restaurant. Gabby was the kick ass that she is and also the hotel rescue since everyone came together. Least favourite had to be the intro scene where Cruz and Capp walk into the 911 center. I felt so bad for them, and it's not quite that it stuck out but I always love seeing 51 coming together when things seem bleak, great episode all around. Nikita_Citizen: Highlight of this episode is Chief Boden waiting in Anderson's office. So EPIC! Also the heartwarming speech he gave to his 51 family. Love these moments so much! Gabby hiding in Matt's office and Gabby and Chout's scenes were also hilarious. Least Fave: Herrmann and Chief arguing. What stuck out: Brett's partner was a character in S2, Gabby's stalker, and Missy was Jim's girlfriend in S3. Kwanfan1212: Favorite Scene: Boden being a badass but I also enjoyed Gabby hiding from Chout in Matt’s office (that was SO funny). Least Favorite: Anderson. Everything about him just reeks and I was upset that he didn’t get what was coming to him for all the trouble he created for house 51. What Stuck Out: How out of sorts House 51 was when the people who have kept it running all these years got replaced by guys who don’t know what it’s like to be a team. That’s what they felt like....strangers all trying to work together who didn’t know how to do that and it made me feel bad for Casey and Severide.

About 3 years ago, I was a 29 year old Asian guy with only a couple months to go before I turned 30, working at a Big 3 Accounting Firm (Lol KPMG), and I was realizing that I was unhappy and miserable, working long hours at all times of the day and night and spending all my free time playing Overwatch, and Dota 2…And despite earning good money, I had a house and some savings, I just knew my life was nowhere near where I wanted it to be or thought it should be, despite all the years of hard work because I never had a girlfriend. I was still a virgin at age 29. Never even had a date… I just wanted to take the time to finally get this off my chest since I have nothing better to do during the quarantine.I soon decided, with the help of an epiphany while reading some dating articles on Reddit that this was not the life for me and that I would need to start approaching girls and learning how to date to have any hope of losing my virginity before 30… To have any chance at a normal life...I didn't want to become a 100+ lay playboy:I just wanted to experience what other guys experienced in college that I missed out on.I just wanted to have someone I could share my hopes and struggles with, someone I could come home to and hug if I had a bad day.I just wanted to have some fun before I get married and start a family…Was that really too much to ask?So I quickly began to learn about dating and seduction and browsed Reddit and other forums almost daily to get hyped up and learn how to go on dates. I soon discovered, however, that I had bitten off far more than I could chew…I met up with a white guy I met online who seemed equally as motivated as me to go out and approach and we went out to several bars and clubs together. Every time we went out, he would always go home with a new girl… I’m not proud of it, but I was extremely jealous since none of these girls gave me any kind of signals of attraction when I approached, and stopped going out with him. Now, I realize it's because he went to the gym a lot and always had a nice haircut, but back then, It was kind of ridiculous how I’d approach girl after girl and get one word answers and a GO AWAY vibe the entire conversation and he would come in a few minutes later and THE SAME GIRL would be smiling and asking him questions about himself, it felt like he didn’t even need to do any work to get laid…At this point, I was watching YouTube videos from or reading articles on how to get girls on an almost daily basis, trying to study and learn all the latest conversation techniques. It felt like I hit a brick wall. This was SOOO much harder than I thought it would be. The dating articles I'd been reading specifically said that “women would rather date an ugly guy with confidence than a handsome guy with no confidence” but that didn’t seem to be the case. I was a 5’5” Asian guy competing with 6’0”+ white guys at every club I went to and it felt like no matter what I said, no girls were even willing to have an actual conversation with me. This is after 100+ approaches so I knew that it wasn’t just bad luck or lack of effort.So reluctantly, after learning some valuable lessons about the harsh nature of reality, I invested $2997 in a well known dating bootcamp since I figured I was already watching so many of their videos, and it’s only fair that I pay them and hopefully learn how to break through my sticking points since my strategy of trying to learn everything by myself was clearly failing.For those of you thinking about going to a Dating Bootcamp, be very careful you don't waste all your money like I did. This particular company did not give a single FUCK about me other than my money. My instructor just kept telling me to approach more girls, which I already knew how to do, and every time I asked for feedback on why none of the girls seemed receptive, he would give some bullshit feedback on how my vibe was off. I asked him how to correct it and he never had any real answers, always giving some woo woo answer about how I needed to have outcome independence and have more fun. It was really weird that everyone who seemed to succeed seemed to be the type to go to the gym a lot and pay a lot of attention to their physical appearance, even though they teach that looks don't matter.I finally lost my virginity through sheer luck after over 500 approaches. It was a random girl I met at the club after approaching empty handed the entire night, but we actually started making out right away after like 2 minutes, I'd never moved that fast before. It really was a life changing experience to finally get that monkey off my back. I felt more confident than ever and I even went on 2 dates with her to try to be her boyfriend but she didn't seem to reciprocate...Over the next couple of years, I became obsessed with getting good with girls, which certainly kept me going, but it also caused some problems…I went out with so many friends, hoping to find that gold nugget, that shining piece of knowledge or wisdom that would finally catapult me past this unbreakable wall, but they would either be just as bad with girls as me or be over 5'10", no exceptions. I read an article on Reddit about how you had to talk louder and slower and that actually helped a lot. Girls would actually give me a chance to have a conversation with them instead of rejecting me immediately but they would still shake their head when I asked them to go home with me or even just grab a drink together. That's when it hit me that I didn't know as much as I thought I did and that there was a lot more to learn.The bad news is, all this rejection was not good for my mental health. I started to wonder if maybe a short Asian guy like myself is just not meant to date… I was seriously considering moving to Thailand or The Philippines to try to at least find a gold digger wife…But finally, I found one particular dating coach that really resonated with me and I immersed myself in his training… He was 5’7” and Asian, so a short Asian like me. John Elite from Vancouver.The first thing he told me was that my hairstyle, fashion, and body language were all shit and unless I fix them first, nothing else would work. Now this is completely contradictory to some of the other advice I read, which convinced me that looks don’t matter but I decided to give it a shot. I got a blazer and chinos from Zara and got an undercut haircut with faded sides along with a gold watch. I didn’t expect anything to happen right away but the difference in girls’ reactions really was noticeable IMMEDIATELY. Suddenly, they would hang in and listen to every word I had to say instead of just politely waiting for me to leave. One girl even started asking me questions about myself and followed me when I asked her to grab a drink with me! I was SOOO HAPPY, it felt like everything changed.Next, he told me to fix my posture and stand up perfectly straight with no neck or back tilt. This was really hard for me because I spent my entire adult life playing video games and working in front of a computer, always hunched over. I even had to go to a chiropractor to undo the years of bad habits and damage to my posture but it finally got fixed after I started wearing a back brace like they give to scoliosis patients. Again, I noticed immediate results. I actually pulled a girl home this time and got a blowjob! No lay thought because of last minute resistance…The one thing that really transformed my results though was to speak to girls with vocal variety. I had a very monotone voice that didn’t change in volume or pitch at all. He had me watch episodes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S and we noticed that every character spoke with such vocal variety and inflections that it sounded like they were speaking in color compared to my black and white. This did not come easy but I worked had on it until it was at least somewhat passable. This turned out to be the tipping point and I finally started getting laid regularly when I go out instead of once every 500 approaches like before. Overall, I'm very happy to have slept with 15 girls.That’s kind of the level I’m at right now. I know I haven't found the one yet and I still have tons of work left to do, but it’s a huge improvement over where I started. Some of the guys on this thread are probably laughing because I'm having my first dates at 30, but it really took an incredible amount of work to get there and I'm proud of the results. Before the quarantine, I already had a girl I was regularly seeing before shit hit the fan, so I figured I could just continue seeing that chick while stuck indoors.Well, turns out I still have a lot more work to do on myself because after about a month of seeing her during the quarantine, she officially stopped responding to my texts 2 days ago, ghosting me. I realize now that I paid a heavy price for those 15 girls. I dealt with rejection after rejection, becoming a stronger person emotionally, but at the same time, alienating old friends by refusing to hang out with them for not having similarly "successful" mindsets. I even lost my family who have very old fashioned Christian mindsets and see me as a monster for going out and banging so many girls without even one stable relationship...I'm at the very beginning again, only this time in my early 30's, still working in my accounting job that I don't really have any passion for, but now without any of my old work friends or my family's support. It's hard for me to deal with the quarantine these days because my life was so centered around approaching lots of women and trying to hook up with them that I realize I don't really have any other hobbies.But I've also changed for the better. After going on this insane hell of grinding out 15 lays, I have a lot more confidence in myself and even though it sucks to not have anyone there for emotional support, I realize that I'm more than capable of making new friends, of starting my own business. Because the only thing holding me back is myself.Now that I've gotten what I wanted initially (losing my virginity, having random sex, meeting new women), it's time to move on to a new goal: starting my own business. Hopefully this next journey won't be anywhere near as difficult as the last one!Hope everyone reading this is safe and got some value from my post. South Park: Dead Celebrities (Ep. 13.8) Review: Latest Episode Encapsulates the Summer

Like all good parents who have been interrupted mid-coitus, they send him back to his room. Though upset, Ike obliges, gets in bed and proceeds to look around his room, with everything looking extra-scary as it is filtered through the little child’s eyes. Suddenly, a specter enters his room and morphs into Pitchmen star Billy Mays, who goes into salesman mode and tries to sell his new Mega Scrub Cleanser. Freaked out, Ike runs out of his room where he comes across Farrah Fawcett and David Carradine.

Ike, in his best brown suit, is sent to a psychiatrist. In a scene wonderfully reminiscent to The Sixth Sense, Ike informs the psychiatrist that he sees dead celebrities. Taken aback, the psychiatrist asks when he sees them. He tells him all the time, and in fact, Ed McMahon has been standing right next to him the entire time. Episode setup complete.

The second act of the show involves Kyle, Stan, Kenny and Cartman trying to get to the bottom of Ike’s new problem. After Cartman informs the gang who Mays is—by showing them a commercial for Chipotlaway, a cleaner that removes blood stains from underwear after eating at Chipotle Mexican Grill—he has a plan. With the help of the Ghost Hunters, “the gayest show in the f***ing world,” the gang tries to solve Ike’s worsening condition. After being thoroughly torn a new one, by the general tone of the scene not just the boys, the ghost hunters run out of Kyle and Ike’s home leaving trails of urine and excrement.

Now in a hospital, Ike has fallen into a coma caused by the ghosts of the dead celebrities. The doctor, aware of his meager qualifications in dealing with the paranormal, seeks the counsel of Dr. Phillips, a specialist in “spooky things.” The doctor, a copy of the little, old creepy lady from Poltergeist, informs the boys that the spirits are stuck in purgatory because they are in unrest, they cannot accept that they have died. Dr. Phillips describes it as being stuck on an airplane, waiting for it to take off.

After making contact with the dead celebrities, using such devices as the Ectograph 500 (yay, Ghostbusters!), it is revealed that there is in fact one dead celebrity who is being uncooperative and preventing “the plane from taking off.” Michael Jackson. After Kyle tries to convince him that he is dead and needs to accept his fate, Jackson still cannot accept it: “No, you’re being ignorant. I’m alive. And I’m a child. And I’m white.” After killing Dr. Phillips, The Exorcist-style, Jackson posses the body of Ike. Heightening of tension complete.

The boys figure out that in order for Michael Jackson’s spirit to cross over, for a better explanation of crossing over checkout the South Park episode “The Biggest Douche in the Universe,” it must be recognized by the living for what it always wanted to be. Cartman deduces that they must let Jackson become a child, female and white. So of course, Ike is entered in The Tiny Miss Pageant contest. After giving the business to pageant moms, Cartman is able to sway the one remaining judge—the two male judges were removed by the police after performing inappropriate acts upon themselves while watching the girls (they went there)—by introducing her to Chipotlaway. Ike wins the contest and is exited by Jackson who returns to purgatory, complete with tiara, sash and trophy. Distraught by what he is wearing, Ike lets loose a diatribe filled with South Park’s favorite words. Back on the flight, the plane takes off and arrives at its destination: Hell. Story complete.

Razor's Edge Only Getting Razier and Edgier

As always, South Park did an amazing job at taking a topical, and often controversial, idea and adding their own layer of absurdity, gross out-ness and common sense. Mapping the first half of Ike’s experiences over that of Haley Joel Osment’s character in The Sixth Sense gave a very dramatic and powerful sense to the episode, even thought the regular South Park craziness was going on around it. The realism made the insane premise that followed only that much funnier because of where it started.

There were a large number of targets in this episode: Billy Mays and the Discovery Channel, Ghost Hunters, Michael Jackson, Toddlers & Tiaras and the whole child pageant circuit in general, Chipotle and religion. But there was never a sense of too much, or too soon for that matter. The show said exactly what it wanted to say without leaving the audience wanting more—in the bad sense, not the good way. The very concept of this episode makes it remarkably entertaining to watch, and the execution only makes it that much better.
