jimin didn’t think. she didn’t plan.
one moment, she was scrolling through her phone, bored out of her mind between shoots, and the next, she was standing in the middle of a pet store, staring at the tiniest kitten she had ever seen.
the little thing was curled up in a plush bed, her fur a soft cream color with barely visible stripes. her big, round eyes blinked sleepily at jimin, and when she let out the tiniest, squeakiest meow jimin had ever heard—her heart was done for.
“i’ll take her,” she said immediately.
the store clerk barely had time to process before jimin was already pulling out her black card, signing papers without even reading them. she didn’t know the first thing about taking care of a kitten, but that was fine. she had an assistant for a reason.
y/n could handle it.
“you what?”
jimin had always been extra, but this? this was next level.
“you adopted a what?” y/n repeated, staring at the tiny, wide-eyed kitten cradled in jimin’s arms.
“a cat,” jimin said, to as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “isn’t she so perfect?”
“a kitten,” y/n corrected, pointing at the tiny ball of fur blinking up at her. “you bought a kitten. on impulse. without thinking. and now you expect me to take care of it?”
“well, yeah,” jimin said, tilting her head. “isn’t that what assistants do?”
the kitten, a fluffy white ball with a pink bow tied around its neck, meowed softly. y/n pinched the bridge of their nose. “ms. yu, you don’t even know how to take care of a cat.”
“that’s what you’re for,” jimin replied, handing the kitten over like it was a designer handbag. “she needs a bed, toys, and… whatever else cats need. figure it out.”
y/n pinched the bridge of her nose even tighter, inhaling sharply. “ms. yu, that is not what assistants do.”
jimin ignored her, instead holding up the kitten, who wiggled slightly before letting out a soft little meow. “her name is princess.”
y/n stared at her, unamused. “of course it is.” y/n sighed but couldn’t help noticing how tiny and fragile the kitten looked, her heart softening at the sight of the little beast. “fine. but you’re helping.”
jimin scoffed. “me? helping? i’m a model, not a nanny.”
despite jimin’s arguments, she eventually agreed and sulked after y/n threatened to take back princess to the pet store.
princess, as it turned out, was not as regal as her name suggested. the moment jimin set her down in the penthouse, the kitten took off like a tiny tornado, her little paws skidding across the polished floors as she explored her new kingdom.
“she’s so… energetic,” jimin said, watching as princess leaped onto the couch and immediately started batting at the tassels on a throw pillow.
“energetic?” y/n raised an eyebrow. “she’s a menace. look at her—she’s already plotting world domination.”
as if to prove their point, princess launched herself off the couch and onto the coffee table, sending a stack of fashion magazines crashing to the floor. jimin gasped. “those are limited edition!”
y/n sighed, picking up the magazines. “maybe you shouldn’t have adopted a kitten if you didn’t want your stuff destroyed.”
“i didn’t know she’d be like this!” jimin protested, scooping up princess before she could attack the curtains. “she was so calm at the shelter.”
“that’s because she was probably sedated,” y/n muttered, watching as princess wriggled out of jimin’s arms and darted under the dining table.
princess’s next target was the kitchen. before y/n could stop her, the kitten had leaped onto the counter and was sniffing around a fruit bowl.
“get her down!” jimin shrieked, as if the kitten were about to detonate a bomb.
y/n rolled her eyes but obediently went to retrieve princess. “come here, you little gremlin,” she said, scooping her up. princess meowed indignantly but didn’t put up much of a fight.
“see? she likes me,” y/n said, smirking as she handed the kitten back to jimin.
jimin held princess at arm’s length, her nose wrinkling. “she smells like… bananas.”
“that’s because she was in the fruit bowl,” y/n said, trying not to laugh.
by the time midnight rolled around, princess showed no signs of slowing down. jimin, on the other hand, was exhausted.
“why won’t she sleep?” jimin whined, flopping onto the couch. “it’s past her bedtime.”
“cats don’t have bedtimes,” y/n said, watching as princess chased her own tail in circles around the living room. “especially not kittens.”
“well, she should,” jimin grumbled. “i have a photoshoot tomorrow, and i can’t look tired.”
y/n shrugged. “maybe you should’ve thought about that before adopting a cat.”
jimin shot her a glare but didn’t argue. instead, she picked up princess and tried to cradle her like a baby. “okay, little one. time for bed.”
princess, unimpressed, squirmed out of jimin’s arms and leaped onto the back of the couch, where she perched like a tiny lion surveying her domain.
“she’s mocking me,” jimin said, narrowing her eyes.
y/n laughed. “she’s a cat. mocking you is her job.”
around 2 a.m., princess finally started to calm down—or so they thought. just as jimin was about to doze off on the couch, the kitten let out a loud meow and started pawing at y/n’s leg.
“what does she want now?” jimin groaned, covering her face with a pillow.
“probably food,” y/n said, standing up. “did you even feed her?”
jimin blinked. “feed her? i thought the shelter did that.”
y/n stared at her. “she’s been here for hours. of course she’s hungry.”
“well, how was i supposed to know?” jimin said defensively. “i’ve never had a cat before!”
y/n shook her head but couldn’t help smiling as she headed to the kitchen to find something princess could eat. after some searching, she settled on a small bowl of plain chicken (courtesy of jimin’s gourmet leftovers).
princess devoured the food like she hadn’t eaten in days, and y/n couldn’t help but laugh. “you’re such a drama queen,” she said, scratching her behind the ears.
jimin watched from the couch, her expression a mix of annoyance and admiration. “she likes you more already, doesn’t she?”
y/n shrugged. “maybe. or maybe she just likes people who actually feed her.”
jimin pouted but didn’t argue.
by the time princess finally fell asleep—curled up in a makeshift bed y/n had put together using a blanket and one of jimin’s designer box that was lying around—the model and the assistant were both exhausted.
“remind me why i thought this was a good idea,” jimin said, flopping onto the couch next to y/n.
“because you wanted a cute accessory for your instagram,” y/n replied, smirking.
jimin glared at her, but didn’t deny it. instead, she leaned her head on y/n’s shoulder and sighed. “she’s kind of cute, though. when she’s not destroying my stuff.”
y/n glanced down at jimin, surprised by the rare moment of vulnerability. “yeah,” she softly responded. “she is.”
as princess snoozed peacefully in her box, jimin and y/n sat in comfortable silence, the chaos of the night slowly fading into something that felt oddly… right. maybe princess wasn’t just a cat—she was the start of something neither of them had expected.

Price had to shave. Entirely.
It was for a minor surgery; one of his last op had left him with a small piece of shrapnel stuck under the skin of his jaw, which hadn’t been noticed right away, preventing the wound from healing properly. Sure, he could have only shaved the sides and kept a mustache, but he figured now was the time to do a full shave, even if he really, really hated the idea.
He didn’t tell anyone about the surgery, but Nikolai sure noticed his foul mood the few days before it. A few probing questions here and there, but John absolutely refused to elaborate, so Nik let it go.
And then the day came. They were busy getting ready, Price in the bathroom while Nik was getting dressed in their bedroom, hips moving to a song the speaker on his nightstand was blaring. That was why he didn’t hear the beard clipper buzzing, and that was why he almost fell back in surprise when he was greeted by a face he had not seen in well over 10 years when he turned around.
"Нифига себе John, give me a warning next time. What is this for?"
Price avoided eye contact, focused on getting inside his shirt and grumbling an answer Nikolai almost struggled to understand.
"S'nothing, got a small surgery later today, had to shave. Don't make a big deal out of it Nik."
A glance to the side of John's face and Nikolai noticed the wound, raising an eyebrow at this. He didn't like the fact that John had hidden a surgery from him at all, the captain's stubbornness often a point of contention throughout their relationship, but Nikolai had to admit that the sight of his lover's freshly shaved face was quite the distraction.
The initial shock now gone, a wide smile appeared on Nik’s face as he moved towards John, his arms wrapping themselves around his shape while John grumbled some more, trying to escape his partner’s embrace until Nik firmly locked his chin between his hand and lifted John’s face, finally taking in the full sight of a fully shaved John Price.
“Aaaah, like when we were boys.” Nik said, smile still as wide, eyes tenderly staring at his lover while a thumb ran across John’s cheek.
“I look fucking twelve, Nik. Do you know how long it took me to shut the sergeants up last time Farah told them about my time without a beard? Three. Fucking. Months. They kept asking for pictures, tried to bribe Laswell a few times, too. I am never going to hear the end of it.”
A hearty laugh escaped Nikolai’s lips, amused and endeared by John’s reaction.
“You can always threaten them with hand-to-hand combat training with me if they give you any trouble.”
Whatever complaints came out of John after this, Nikolai didn’t hear, as he was busy kissing the bare skin of John’s jaw and chin, big hands grabbing the side of his face and keeping him in place as he did so. It was like going back in time, flashbacks of their time together as younger men coming back to him, missions in the desert watching John’s face redden because he was too proud to wear a hat, memories of time spent together in bars, Price getting so drunk that Nik had to carry him back to the barracks, all those times Nik had stared at him with longing in his heart that he thought would never be fulfilled, only to now have him all for himself, all these years later.
“I think we are going to be late, John.” was all Nik said before gently pushing John against their bed, lips immediately meeting his bare skin once more, kissing and teasing while John slowly relaxed under him, each kiss breaking his guard down, bit by bit.
It would take John a long time to regrow his beard to what it was, and Nikolai was going to enjoy every single second of it.

Hiiiiiiii. Could you do a Salesman fic?
I would love to see one where his usual calm and powerful energy is lost around the reader, as he's just enamoured with her. Like no shame, he is down bad and the reader is just flustered and lowkey confused cause they haven't known each other for long.
Idk if this makes any sense to you (up to you if you make it smut i don't really mind)
Teach Ddakji to me
Tumblr media
The Salesman x American!Reader
Summary: You play Ddakji with a man at a subway station, but the game brings you two much closer than either of you were prepared to.
A/N: I'm not sure how well i was able to follow the request of how he behaves around the reader but this is what i got ;-; hope you still like 🫶🏻 (i'm so deep in love with this psycho i've been giggling during every other paragraph)
♡♡
You rushed down the stairs in the subway station, only one minute until your train was going to leave. You weren't going to make it, but you had to try.
The doors were closing right in front of you and you wanted to scream and let out several different curses, but you didn't want to draw attention on yourself. Your day at the college lectures had just ended and all you wanted to do was to get home, have a dinner and rest.
You heard noise behind a corner, as if someone was slamming something on the floor. You went to see what was going on out of curiosity.
Two men were standing there, the other one tall and dressed in a grey suit, the other one a lot shorter and dressed in a simple hoodie and loose jeans, a worn out cap covering his messy black hair. Suddenly, the man in the suit slapped the other so hard on the face that the man's head turned to the right.
They slammed blue and red squares on top of each other over and over again, and it ended in the man in the suit slapping the other almost every time. Once in a while he handed to the man what looked like a bill of money. You had never seen anything like that happen anywhere and were confused.
You got a notification on your phone, a text message from your classmate.
"Join us for studying and then a dinner? A new restaurant opened nearby, we'll go and try it tonight," she messaged.
"Another day, i don't feel like going out tonight," you replied, getting a thumbs up emoji as a respond.
You put your phone in your pocket and turned around, almost having a heart attack and jumping a step back when you saw the man in the suit standing mere inches away from you, looking down at you with a slight smirk.
"Enjoyed the show, i hope?" he asked and your eyes widened. Fuck, he had noticed you stalking the two of them.
"Yea, um, sure," you said awkwardly. "Though i didn't know what it was, really."
Seeing his face now closer and him staring at you with his dark eyes made your heart beating faster and it wasn't only because of him scaring you for appearing out of nowhere. He was extremely handsome and the way he looked at you made you blush.
"You haven't heard of Ddakji?" he asked, but didn't seem surprised since he figured you weren't local by the looks of you. "It's a Korean game, want me to show you?"
"Sure," you said, nothing else to do than wait anyway. The man took the squares in his hands and offered you to choose one. You took the red one.
He explained the rules to you, it was simple. You only had to hit your square on the blue one and make it turn around, the upper side facing the floor.
It sounded simple but you were hesitant if you were actually able to do it. You threw it on the floor, aiming at the blue square, but it didn't move even an inch in any direction. You let out a frustrated groan.
"It's okay, very few people succeed on their first try," he said in a comforting tone and took a step closer to you, standing right in front of you. "But do you know what losing means to you, hm?"
You had a very good guess after seeing him and the other man play just a while ago.
"You're gonna slap me?" you asked with a grimace.
He smiled. Without a word, you felt a painful sting on your left cheek when he slapped you, not going any easier on you just because you were a woman.
"Jesus Christ!" you gasped and held your hand on your cheek which was definitely going to have a red mark later. You had never been slapped on your face and it hurt more than you thought it would hurt.
"My turn then," he said and grabbed his blue square from the floor. He slammed it on top of your red square and it immediately jumped in the air and landed on its other side on the floor.
He looked at you with the same smirk again.
"So what happens when you win?" you asked, crossing your arms. If you continued this game much longer, your face would be completely covered in bruises and you'd have a lot of explaining to do to your classmates.
"I get to use your body again," he said with a confident tone.
You closed your eyes and prepared for another slap, hoping that it would be the other one this time because your left cheek still hurt. When you felt a touch on your left cheek, you automatically winced a little bit.
But it wasn't a slap, it was a tender kiss. You opened your eyes when he had already leaned away and you saw a glimpse of kindness in his eyes this time. You felt your cheeks warming up and tried to avoid eye contact for a moment.
"Your turn," he said.
Your hand was shaking when you lifted the red square from the floor. You wanted to succeed, you had never been good at losing in anything, it was always about to start to piss you off if you didn't start winning too.
"Do you want me to help you?" he asked. You looked at him and soon he was right behind you, keeping an eye contact with you when he put his left hand on your waist and his right one to hold your hand which was holding the square. "Is this okay?"
He didn't put too much pressure on holding you, making sure that you gave him a permission for that. You suddenly couldn't get words out of your mouth, so you just nodded and swallowed the lump in your throat. He held you tighter now and instructed how it was supposed to be done. You had to have more force when you would slam the square down.
"Spread your legs a little bit," he whispered.
"What?" you gasped in shock.
"To get a better and more firm position when you throw it," he explained, his breath hot in your ear.
"Oh," you said, cheeks burning even more. You hadn't realized you were standing almost like a stick. He guided your hand up in the air in a correct position.
"Remember to let go of it at the correct moment, i'm going to aim it for you, okay?" he said and you nodded, now much more nervous than you would have been if you did this alone.
With this help, the blue square flew into the air and landed on its other side easily. You were excited of the victory, even though it was for his help, and a wide smile spread on your face.
To be honest, for a second you wished you would have failed on purpose, just to get his hands on you again - you didn't even care if it was a slap, kiss or something else.
He let go of you and you turned around to face him, already missing his touch.
"There you go," he said with a proud expression on his face. "Now, you can choose what to do to me."
You didn't hesitate for even a second longer, you immediately slapped him on his left cheek as hard as you could. However, you knew you didn't have as much as strength in your body as he did, so the slap must have stinged a lot less. His head didn't move even an inch and he only smiled.
Right then, the train you had been waiting for arrived and you took your bag from the ground. You weren't going to miss this train just because of wanting to have another round of Ddakji with this stranger.
He offered you money, worth of 100 dollars, and put them in your hand, closing your fist around the bill. You were about to refuse but he wasn't having it.
"Treat yourself a nice dinner tonight," he said. When you didn't answer, he nodded towards the train which was about to leave soon, with or without you.
"Thank you," you said. "Um, bye."
You made it into the train just in time and when you looked back at the spot where that man had just been, he was already gone.
♡♡
The salesman didn't want you to leave. He was absolutely mesmerized by you, you were the most gorgeous woman he had ever laid eyes on. Your perfume and the smell of your shampoo still lingered in his nose, even after you weren't there anymore.
He would have wanted to ask you to stay, but he couldn't find the correct words and you were in a hurry to catch your train.
He hadn't felt like this of a woman in a long time and he wanted to find you again. To hold you again.
He didn't understand how you could have made this big of an impact on him in only under 10 minutes, but all he knew was that he needed to get to know you better.
♡♡
The next day, you arrived to the class and sat next to your friend.
"Oh my god, what happened to your face?" she gasped in shock.
Yes, there was a visible red mark on your cheek and you didn't have anything at home to cover it. You didn't really use any makeup either except mascara.
"Oh um," you started, trying to find some excuse. "It's my allergies and acne." You didn't have any allergies and hadn't had acne since you were 15. But you couldn't tell her the truth, atleast now that you didn't have time to talk much since the class was about to start.
And what were you going to say to her? A stranger in the subway station slapped you and you enjoyed it?
The teacher arrived and the noise of the door slamming closed interrupted your friend who was about to say something to interview you further.
♡♡
You walked down the subway station stairs again on your way home, just like yesterday. You had your headphones on, listening to random metal songs on Spotify and were texting your mum who catched up with you twice a week how you were doing. You were supposed to have a video call later today but she apparently had to work extra tonight, she was a nurse.
When you had reached the bottom of the stairs, you bumped into something and almost tripped back but managed to keep your balance. You looked up and saw the same man in the suit as yesterday, staring down at you with a smile.
"Hello," he greeted, not moving anywhere.
"Hello," you repeated and lifted your eyebrows, taking of your headphones. "What are you doing here?"
"Waiting for you," he said without thinking.
"Me? Why? How did you know i would be here?"
"I didn't. I only figured you might have the same daily routine and took a chance," he explained.
"Why did you want to see me?" you asked, confused but feeling butterflies in your stomach.
"I didn't have a chance to ask for your phone number yesterday," he said. "And i'd like to take you out."
"Take me out you mean murder or dinner?"
"The second option. I already finished the first task earlier," he said with a smile. Handsome and with a sense of humor.
"Fine, where did you plan to take me?"
"Anywhere you want. Are you hungry?"
"You don't even know my name," you pointed out.
"You can tell me your name and all about you on our date," he smiled.
"Aren't you straightforward," you chuckled. "Are you going to teach me Ddakji again?"
"If you wish so," he said.
You bit your lip, not sure if you should go somewhere with this stranger or not. You hadn't been asked for a dinner at a subway station before, though, so you could write it on your bucketlist and cross it out.
"Okay."
♡♡
He had taken you to a lovely dinner to enjoy local foods you had never eaten before. You rarely tried any new foods, always sticking on the ones you already knew you'd like, but now you had tried something different and loved it.
Now, you were in a park, nobody else in sight. It was already dark and you knew you had to go home soon if you wanted to get enough sleep.
You held the red square in your hand once again and aimed for slamming the blue around finally on your own.
Again, you weren't able to hit it. But you hadn't even tried properly and weren't mad about it.
"Damn it," you mumbled.
"You'll get there," he smirked, stepping closer to you.
He lifted your chin with his finger.
"Close your eyes."
You did as told and waited for the worst option, squeezing your eyes shut tightly.
You felt his lips press on yours, taking you into a slow kiss. He broke the kiss but didn't let go of your chin
"Do i have to play another round of Ddakji to do that again?"
You smiled and stepped on your tiptoes to reach him better, cupped his face and pulled him in a proper, deeper kiss. He instantly wrapped his arms around your waist to press your body against him tighter.
"Just so you know, i don't sleep with men on our first date," you said when the kiss was over, his hands wandering around your back they had almost reached your ass.
He moved his left hand to the back of your neck, keeping the right one on your lower back. He pushed his fingers through your hair, softly massaging your scalp.
"What is it about you that makes me so drawn to you?" he whispered, and you didn't know if the question was for you or just for himself. "Only two days and you've managed to make me absolutely addicted to you."
He pushed a strand of your hair behind your ear, and you felt blush creeping on its way to your cheeks.
He eventually walked you back home like a gentleman, not allowing you to walk anywhere at this hour. He had to make sure you got back home safely.
"Will i see you again tomorrow?" he asked before you managed to leave, gently holding your wrist.
"I have to study, i've fallen behind in couple of courses so i need to catch up," you said and his face fell a little bit. Surely he had other things to do in his life besides seeing you. "Are you free this weekend?"
His face lighted up again for your suggestion.
"For you, of course," he said and brought your hand towards his face, planting a kiss on your knuckles. "Goodnight, Y/N."
You went inside your apartment and silently closed the door, trying to do everything as quietly as you could, but then the lights were turned on.
"Okay who the HELL is that man, Y/N?!" your roommate shouted at you, making you jump and almost have a heart attack. It was so late you thought she was already sleeping, she was the type to be in bed by 8pm and asleep by 9pm.
"Um, well I-"
"That is the most gorgeous man i've ever seen," she said, still speaking loudly, and stepped closer to you and pointed you with her finger. "How couldn't you tell me you were dating a new man?"
"Well i only met him a while ago," you admitted.
"Still?!" she shouted. "You know i like boy talk and you never talk about your dating life! Oh my god, have you finally downloaded Tinder or something?"
"Ew, no," you shook your head.
"You're right, there's no way men THAT hot would still be on Tinder and not married," she said and then gasped. "Girl, he's not married, is he?"
"I sure hope he's not," you said and for a moment you were afraid he might be married. I mean, how could he still be single? Your friend always talked so much that you started to doubt everything you previously knew.
"Wait a minute, i'll get us some popcorn and then you're gonna spill everything," she said and without another word, she was already in the kitchen.
And you did tell her everything because my god you needed to talk to someone about him.
♡♡
A few days and several text conversations later, you were in his hotel room, and he pressed you against the wall, his right hand leaning on the wall right by your head.
He lifted your head by his forefinger on your chin to make you look straight into your eyes.
"How long are you going to stay in Korea?" he asked.
"What, are you going to ask me to move in with you or something? Plan a summer wedding?" you joked.
"If you want to," he said with a serious face and you truly wasn't sure if he was serious or joking. You hadn't yet found a difference between the two.
"Wait what?"
You hadn't dated any Korean men before so you weren't sure how fast they progressed in the dating life. Would it be normal to propose on the first week or ask to move in? Surely not.
He smiled. "I only ask because i don't want to have you only for a short while," he said and let his fingers wander around your shoulder, sending goosebumps all over your body.
"Well, i'll be here for atleast another 5 months," you told him and then pouted. "So, no summer wedding?"
"I'd have to buy a ring first," he smirked.
"It better be a real diamond too then," you chuckled, having seen the stacks of money he had carried with him, and pulled him into another kiss.
He was soon kissing your neck, leaving a mark on your skin, until your stomach growled and interrupted him.
"When was the last time you ate?" he asked, furrowing his eyebrows. "I thought you had eaten before you came here."
"Well, it's been a while i suppose," you said, not really remembering anymore when the last time was.
He stepped away from you and pulled out his phone.
"What are you doing?"
"We're ordering food," he said. "What would you like to eat?"
He ordered Chinese food for you and ate it on the bed while watching some brainless comedy movie.
When the movie had ended, he went to the bathroom, leaving you to lay on the bed and making you to fall in your thoughts alone.
You had been in a relationship twice in your life, and in neither of them your relationship had moved on this fast. I mean, you weren't in an official relationship, you had been just barely hooking up, but the way he talked about you only knowing you for a few days wasn't something you had been used to at all.
In the U.S., it took guys several weeks to make any progress in relationships, atleast what you had seen and gone through.
Maybe you should slow down a little, take a step back and see what he really wants from you.
By the time he came back from the bathroom, you had fallen asleep. You looked so peaceful in your sleep, so beautiful even with your messy hair all over the pillow.
He came closer to you and pulled a blanket over you, the edge almost reaching your jaw. You stirred in your sleep, turning to lay on your side, but didn't show any signs of waking up.
He laid himself on the bed next to you and just looked at your sleeping figure for several minutes. He was afraid of getting attached to a woman so fast, in so little time, but he couldn't help it.
To him you were perfect, and he wanted to know everything about you that there was to know.

——————————————————————————
Izuku’d been laying in bed for who knows how long, his mind refusing to shut off as he tried to rest. It seemed to be no use. He guessed it was anxiety, it made a lot of sense for him.
He sighed and rolled over on his side, hugging his pillow to his chest as a frown settled on his face. He just wanted to go to sleep, or at the very least- have a clear mind.
Izuku closed his eyes gently and was finally beginning to settle a little, when his phone suddenly went off.
He jumped and sat right up, before letting out a breath and grabbing his phone.
“Y/n..?” He mumbled, staring at your contact name, effectively set as ‘Bug.’
Izuku picked up the call, holding his phone to his ear “hey Y/n! What’s goin on?” He asked, curiosity covering up his fatigue and growing anxiety from laying in bed silently.
You took a deep drag from the weed cart you had, letting the smoke out with a lazy smile “Hey Zuku, ‘m kinda high as hell right now” you laughed breathily, coughing a bit afterward.
Izuku sighed and rolled his eyes, smiling “of course you are.” He knew about your little ‘habit.’ He also knew you weren’t the only one in the class who smoked or did marijuana in some form.
You let out a long sigh and closed your eyes, feeling your body spinning “Zu…I wanna cuddle” you whined, your high brain demanding the serotonin from Izuku’s gentle touches and soft caresses.
Izuku blinked and looked at the time. It was 2:24 on a school night, and you wanted to have him over? He blushed at the thought and shook off any impure thoughts.
“You want me to come over..now??” He asked incredulously, to which you nodded (despite the fact he couldn’t see you) and whined “please..? My balcony is already unlocked, so you can just..hop on it..right Bunny?”
He blushed and practically melted at that nickname. Izuku couldn’t deny the little bit of heat that dropped into his stomach at the prospect of hanging out with you after curfew.
He let out a long sigh, before smiling a little
“I’ll be there in five.”

Just like Izuku had promised, he leapt onto your balcony roughly 5 minutes later, sliding open your glass door and shutting it behind him. “Hey” he greeted with a small smile.
You looked at him, your eyes half lidded and bright red, with a dopey grin on your face “there’s my favorite person”. You mumbled softly.
You were laid on your bed wearing a baggy tee and some loose sweats, the neck of your shirt dipping down and exposing some of your cleavage.
Izuku blushed as you opened your arms to him “cmere Bunny” he was actually so weak for that little term of endearment.
He dumbly walked over, sitting on your bed, before you yanked him down to cuddle with you.
Izuku was stiff for a moment, before he relaxed and smiled softly.
You shifted to lay on top of his form, resting your cheek on his chest as he played with your hair.
“Mm…feels.nice” you mumbled, to which Izuku nodded “it does. Did you know, cuddling is actually really good for your brain? It helps to reduce stress and boost positive emotions in the body.”
18+ beyond this point!.~•*
While he rattled off some random fact, you couldn’t help but focus on the bulge your thigh was pressed against. In your tired and high haze, you were trying to figure out what it was. Did he have his phone in his pocket or something?
Without giving it a second thought, you reached down and grabbed what was pressed into your thigh.
Izuku gasped and tensed, his face flushing red as a feminine whine left his lips “a-ah- Bug? What are you doing..?” He asked, clearly embarrassed about your hand positioning and the sound that left him.
You glanced up at his face before it clicked what you were touching. You grinned and shrugged “dunno, I wanted to know what was pushing into my leg” you said as you slowly dragged your hand up and down the clothed bulge.
Izuku’s eyes closed and rolled back at the touch, another little sound leaving his lips, somewhere between a gasp and a whimper “Y-y/n- oh god-”
He covered his mouth with his hand, shaking sligjtly at how good your hand felt.
His brows furrowed and he cracked an eye open to see you gazing at him with half lidded eyes “Izuku..” you whispered, in awe of his sweet little sounds.
Izuku felt his breaths pick up at your whispered iteration of his name. Her placed a hand over his mouth loosely and whined “Y/n…”
You blushed brightly and applied a little more pressure, but still kept your pace slow and gentle.
Izuku’s head fell back against the pillows as a soft hum of pleasure reverberated from his throat “god..that- that feels good”. He whispered shakily, his voice hoarse and his tone shy.
You smiled softly and sat up off of him. You placed your knees on each side of his hips, pressing your clothed core to his clothed cock.
Izuku’s eyes widened as you adjusted your positions, straddling his hips. “Wait- Y-Y/n- are you sure? Y-you’re high and I don’t- gyah!”
You cut him off with a roll of your hips “so sensitive” you mumbled to yourself. You placed your hands on the bed on either side of Izukus face.
He writhed under you, his brows knitted together as pleasure shot up his spine. Izuku’s voice bent in ways you’d never imagined, his tone whiny and so soft, so embarrassed as he let out a few small whimpers and mewls of pleasure.
You smiled a little as he gripped the sheets, peeling one of his hands away from the black sheets of your bed, and placing it on your hip.
Izuku looked up at you hesitantly, a shy expression in those round doe eyes. “Y/n..are you sure? Is this okay?” The sweet boy was always so worried about others, it made your heart melt in your chest.
You have a nod and leaned down, “‘m sure” you murmured gently.
Izuku just nodded at your words and closed his eyes fighting back a whimper as you gave another deliberate roll of your hips.
A groan left you, it just felt so good. Izuku’s cock was rubbing against you perfectly, it was hard under your weight, and sent shockwaves of white hot pleasure up your stomach and to your brain.
After a bit more of the slow grinding, you shifted off of his lap. You couldn’t take it anymore, you needed more.
Izuku looked down at you and tensed as you grabbed his shorts. You tugged them down, and he froze. You paused your movements and cracked a smile, before laughing.
There, wrapped around his lower body, were a pair of All Might themed boxers.
Izuku’s face dropped into a mortified one, and her covered his face “oh my god- I-I’m so sorry- I had no idea I was wearing these I didn’-“
You shook your head and smiled affectionately “Bunny, it’s okay, really” you waved him off “it’s not a big deal.”
Izuku peeked out from his fingers, feeling humiliated before he let out a sigh “you’re not..weirded out or anything..?”
You shook your head and leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to his manhood through the fabric of his boxers. You smiled up at him “of course not” you murmured softly “I couldn’t be angry or weirded out with a face that cute”
Your tongue slipped out to gently run across the head of his throbbing cock, feeling the warm precum that dampened his boxers.
Izuku tensed and gasped, blushing and letting his eyes fall half lidded “oh..Y/n..” he mumbled, placing a hand on the back of your head and gently feeling your hair between his calloused digits.
You smirked a bit as you gently tugged down his boxers next. You pulled away to slowly push down your sweats and underwear, exposing your lower half to Izuku’s shy gaze.
He blushed brightly and looked away, his body trembling with excitement, he was really about to do this- and with you of all people.
You smiled as you got back into his lap, cupping one of his cheeks while the other aligned his length at your entrance “Look at me, Izuku” you murmured gently.
He could barely hold your gaze, his body on fire and his doe eyes half lidded as he gazed at you “Y-Y/n..I-I’ve never done this before..” he said shakily. He was nervous about your reaction, but you simply smiled.
You gently tucked his hair behind his ear, “Zuku..I’m not worried about that..I’m gonna take care of you….alright?”
He gave you a nervous look, but seeing the conviction on your expression made him relax. Izuku let out a shaky breath and nodded “yeah..okay..I’ll trust you..”
You hummed approvingly “are you ready, love?” You asked, gingerly running your thumb over his cheek.
Izuku glanced down to his cock, quickly looking away at seeing how close you were to taking his virginity. His face exploded in a red blush, but he nodded “p-please..I’m ready” he said softly.
You smiled and nodded. Excitement and nervousness bubbled inside of you, before you let out a slow breath and carefully lowered yourself onto his aching cock.
His eyes widened and he let out a loud whine, “oh- oh Bug!” Izuku’s face was scrunched up with pleasure, his stomach tight and his fists balling up the sheets under him.
A drawn out moan slipped past your lips, and your eyes rolled back. You could feel every angry vein on Izuku’s length pressing against your insides, your walls tightly constricting around Izuku’s cock.
Izuku was a trembling mess, his bottom lip pinched between his teeth and his muscles taught like tight rubber bands.
You looked at his face and grinned, before rocking your hips. A moan tore itself from you, feeling Izuku’s thick and hard dick slip easily in and out of you.
Izuku writhed beneath you, gasping and panting, babbling mindlessly as you slowly rode his cock, your hips gently rolling and rocking in his lap “that’s it Izuku” you praised, carding your fingers through Izuku’s curly locks of hair.
He let out high pitched whines and whimpers, desperately clutching onto the sheets “Y-Y/n- oh god please don’t stop- ah!” A ragged moan tore from his lips, and he arched his back off of the bed.
“Good boy” you panted out, heavier moans and deep groans leaving you “fuck you feel so good” you muttered against the skin of Izuku’s neck, the added sensation sending stars into his vision.
He shakily reached up to cup your face in his scarred hands “please- please call me that again- please Y/n”
You raised a brow and felt arousal snap through your body. The knot in your stomach tightened and you groaned. You sat up a little more, sending his cock deeper into your aching core “fuck..you’re such a good boy baby” you moaned out.
Izuku gasped and closed his eyes tightly “Y-Y/n- I-I’m about-“ he let out a long and choked moan, the hot coil of pleasure in his stomach finally snapping.
You blushed, feeling hot ropes of cum shoot out of his cock and inside of you. You panted and swallowed, feeling it fill you full. Shakily, you lifted yourself off of his lap and shuddered at the feeling of being hollow, before laying beside him
“Christ..that’s so much..” you mumbled, to which Izuku blushed and looked away “yeah..” he panted bresthlessly “h-hyperspermia..”
You nodded and smiled, feeling sleepy affection wash over you.
“Stay the night..?” You asked sleepily, cuddling up to his side, to which Izuku flipped on his side to hold you face to face.
“Of course..” he mumbled back tiredly.
You yawned and let out a heavy sigh “goodnight Bunny..”
Izuku closed his eyes and rested his forehead against yours. “Goodnight Buggy..”
First ever smut I’ve written on tumblr beforeeee..
Low-key stole the hyperspermia idea from @cvnt4him because I EAT their work bruh.
Anyways I’ve had strep or some throat thing going on for the past few days so I’m tired asf lol

PERFECT:
Requested: Chishiya x Reader who is insecure about stretch marks.
--
"Kuina is asking for you," Chishiya said as he entered the room, closing the door behind him and remaining standing with his hands in his pockets.
"Ah, right. We were supposed to go to the pool, but I’m not feeling very well," the girl replied, lying on the bed and covering her eyes with her forearm.
Chishiya didn’t respond. The girl heard his footsteps approaching the bed and felt his presence towering over her. After a few moments of silence, the man finally spoke.
"What’s wrong?" His voice was dry and sharp, almost bored, but Y/N could discern a slight hint of concern in it. Her stomach twisted at the thought.
"Nothing, I just… I’m tired," she answered, turning over to give him her back, pulling the thin white silk sheet further up her body.
Chishiya stood there, watching her in silence. The semi-transparent sheet clung to her skin, accentuating the shape of her body. Her black bikini stood out underneath.
"She insisted a lot," he said. "I think she’s obsessed with you. She said she’d drag you out of the room if you’re not at the pool in five minutes."
The man watched as the woman squirmed, groaning in frustration.
"Fine. Leave." she replied, sitting up on the bed and pulling the sheet even closer around her body.
Chishiya raised an eyebrow skeptically.
"Leave?"
The woman only groaned in response, waving her hand to shoo him out of the room.
"Why?" he asked, confused, with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"I need to change," she said, finally turning to face her boyfriend.
He stared at her for a few seconds, doubt still etched on his face.
"And I have to leave for that?"
The girl let out an exasperated sigh.
"I don’t want you to see me."
Chishiya felt like he had lost track of the conversation—something extremely rare for him. And irritating. Very irritating.
"You don’t want me to see you?" he repeated, making sure he had heard correctly.
"Yes, I don’t want you to see."
She rolled over again, turning her back to him.
That was when an alarm went off in the white-haired man’s head.
"What is it that you don’t want me to see?" he asked, sitting on the edge of the bed, leaning toward her figure under the sheets.
Y/N responded with muffled sounds against the pillow.
"What?" he insisted.
Y/N sighed again and turned to face her boyfriend, her gaze fierce and visibly frustrated.
"I don’t want you to see my body."
Chishiya’s brain went blank for a few seconds.
"What?" he repeated once more. His cold, distant stare contrasted with the fire burning inside him, fueled by doubt, uncertainty, and confusion.
The girl huffed one last time before getting up from the bed, wrapping the thin fabric around herself. She locked herself in the bathroom with a soft click that echoed in Chishiya’s ears like the most irritating sound he had ever heard.
"Y/N." His voice came out neutral, emotionless.
"I won’t take long," she replied from behind the door.
And she didn’t. In less than three minutes, the girl emerged from the small space, now wearing a bikini with a towel draped over her arm.
"What was wrong with the other one?" the man asked after a few seconds of observing her intently.
"What?"
Chishiya nodded toward the black swimsuit lying on the bathroom floor.
"Oh. I didn’t like it," she replied.
Like pieces of a puzzle, Chishiya added this new information to his mind. It still didn’t fit.
A knock on the door interrupted the moment.
"Y/N! I swear I’ll drag you out if you don’t come out right now!"
"Kuina," the man thought.
He watched as Y/N walked to the door, opening it and greeting Kuina with a brief hug, her back now turned to him. Chishiya took the opportunity to admire his girlfriend’s new bikini a little longer. It was undeniably different from the previous one. The fabric hugged her hips, covering more skin than the last, but what really struck him was the style. It wasn’t a piece of clothing that suited Y/N’s style.
He watched as the two women walked away, leaving him behind. Under any other circumstances, he would have stayed in the room, away from all the noise and chaos of the pool. But that day, something was off. He didn’t know what, but he was going to find out. He followed them, keeping a safe distance, giving them space.
When they reached the pool area, the noise was instant. Chishiya noticed Y/N subtly shrinking, growing smaller before his eyes. He even caught the way she crossed her arms slightly over her stomach. The puzzle pieces were starting to come together.
From a distance, he kept his eyes on the two women as they settled on a surprisingly empty lounge chair. He watched Kuina lay out her towel and lie down, motioning for Y/N to join her. He saw Y/N shake her head softly, instead perching on the edge of the recliner, crossing her legs and carefully draping her towel over her lap, letting it fall conveniently over her hips.
He sighed.
He observed them for a few more minutes, deciphering the pattern. And when the answer finally lit up in his mind, he decided to act.
Chishiya had never been good with words—he said what needed to be said, with no sugarcoating. So he had to bite his tongue as he approached the two girls and saw Y/N grip her towel a little tighter.
"Come with me," he said, hands still in his pockets, casual as ever.
Kuina lifted her head, lowering her sunglasses with an exaggerated expression of surprise.
"Go, go, go, go!" she cheered, nudging Y/N encouragingly.
Kuina was the only person on The Beach—hell, in all of Borderlands—who knew about their relationship. And she loved to exaggerate moments like these. Chishiya mentally thanked her countless times a day for bringing a little enthusiasm into their dynamic—something he didn’t know how to do. He’d be embarrassed to admit that more than half of the so-called romantic ideas he executed came from Kuina’s vivid imagination.
Y/N sighed and stood up, tying the towel tightly around her hips. She followed him as he led her toward the hotel’s interior.
"What is it? I was having a great time," she confronted him when Chishiya finally stopped in a dimly lit corner of the empty main hall.
"Were you?" he challenged, crossing his arms over his chest. His gaze was dark. Predatory. Y/N felt a shiver run down her spine.
"What are you talking about?"
Chishiya locked eyes with her for a moment before nodding pointedly at the towel around her waist.
Involuntarily, Y/N crossed her arms over her stomach.
Chishiya let out a mocking chuckle—one he immediately regretted when she lowered her gaze to the floor. Yes, he was upset—very upset. But not with her. Well, maybe a little. But he had to play his cards right, or this could spiral out of control.
"You were uncomfortable," he said, this time in a softer tone, one that made her look up again. "Insecure, I’d say."
He saw her swallow hard before lowering her head once more. With a sigh, he pushed off the wall and placed a finger under her chin, gently lifting her face.
"Tell my girlfriend…" he began, using his other hand to undo the knot in her towel. "That she’s perfect…" He let the towel fall to her feet. "And that she better not dare think otherwise."
He placed his hands on her hips, pulling her closer.
Y/N instinctively grabbed his wrists, trying to pull them away so he wouldn’t feel the roughness of her skin—evidence of the stretch marks on her body. It was futile. He simply started tracing slow, soothing circles over her skin.
Noticing her relax slightly, Chishiya smirked, tightening his grip around her waist and pulling her impossibly closer. She hesitated before sliding her arms around his neck.
"You’re perfect," he whispered, lips barely brushing hers.
He watched in amusement as her cheeks turned bright red, her gaze darting away. He gently shook her, forcing her to meet his eyes once more.
"Don’t ever forget it," he murmured—low, almost threatening—before sealing his words with a deep kiss where doubt, uncertainty, and insecurity faded into the background, overpowered by the taste of unconditional love and adoration.

Metropolis was sunny as always. The sun beamed through the windows of the redaction office. Clark was working on a news article about a mysterious figure spotted multiple times over the last few weeks whenever chaos struck the city.
He knew who that was, a vigilante he had “worked” with a couple of times to fight off some bad guys. He had to admit, he was talented, his energy manipulation magic was impressive. And the way he fought hand to hand… Gosh, it was a sight for sore eyes.
“Breaking news!” He turned to watch the TV they had in the office. “An attack has been perpetrated on the intersection between Rowan and Mains Street. The attacker has already destroyed multiple police units.”
Upon hearing that, Clark made his way towards the stairs that led to the rooftop. He needed to do something. Once he got undressed, revealing his suit, he leaped off the edge of the building and flew towards the place of the incident.
The area was surrounded by police cars, trying to contain the danger, which honestly wasn't going to accomplish much.
He flew down, landing on his feet. There wasn't that much mayhem… some upside-down cars, cracks on the ground, and some nearby stores with shattered windows.
There was a figure though, a big silhouette, almost animal-like. It had shards of some kind of crystal all over its back.
“I would be careful if I was you”
He looked around, seeing you levitating off to the side.
“The bastard's got some strength. And those shards… Kryptonite maybe? I wouldn’t touch them if I were you.” You say, approaching the broad man beside you.
“Kryptonite? How is that possible?”
“Beats me.” You shrugged. “As long as you don't attack his back, we should be good.”
He nodded understandingly, preparing his attack while you immobilized that thing with your magic. You could have gotten rid of the threat on your own perfectly, but you wanted to see him. He was so fine, it was like skipping dessert if you didn't look him up and down after a fight.
The threat now being eliminated, you walked over to the police cars where a head of police approached you two.
“That thing shouldn't cause any problems anymore. I've gotten rid of its body. There shouldn't be any more issues, officer.”
Clark stood silent behind you.
“Thank you, thank you. I don't know what we would have done without you.”
“You probably could have handled it too, I'm sure of that.” You replied smiling.
There you were again, making small talk with some random guy. He didn't know why, but he hated it when you did that, always having flirty remarks and comments, and smiling at strangers.
Some passers-by were shouting your names, and of course, you went and took pictures with them, smiling and being friendly.
He hated it.
Once everyone had started to dissipate, you went back to his side. He was silent…
“What?” You asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Nothing, I just need to go get my clothes.”
“I'll come with you. We can go watch the sunset later or something.”
He grunted. He didn't want that, he wanted to fuck you then and there. To show you you were not about to go around flirting with everyone. You weren't together or anything, but he wanted you to be only his.
When you landed on the rooftop of the building, he took his clothes and made his way towards a broom closet where he had been putting his discarded clothes to go pick up at a later date.
That's when an idea crossed his mind. He quickly took your wrist and locked you both inside the broom closet.
“What are you -” you get cut off by his lips on yours. He was a surprisingly good kisser.
“Let me fuck you.”
“What?”
“Let me claim you.” He keeps kissing your neck.
You moan at the sensation, and seeing that you're not pushing him away, he takes that as a yes.
He starts getting rid of his and your clothes, leaving you as naked as the day you were born in that dark room.
He starts planting kisses all over your torso and neck, leaving some marks here and there to show that you are his.
He slightly pushes your shoulders down, enticing you to get on your knees.
You oblige and kneel in front of him, instinctively taking his member into your mouth. You started licking around the tip, slowly making your way down the shaft. The sensation made him tremble and groan…
You kept sucking his cock until you felt him push you away slightly. It was now all wet and ready, but your hole still needed some prep.
“Turn around for me.”
You did as he asked, now facing the door separating you from the outside world. Clark got on his knees and spread your cheeks apart. He spat on your hole, slowly massaging the liquid around your entrance. He approached his face and started eating you out. Once he felt you were ready to take him, he got up, embracing you from behind and whispering in your ear.
“Can I fuck you now?”
“Yes.”
He kissed you one final time before lining himself up with your entrance. He slowly pushed in, making sure to not hurt you. You moan at the feeling of it stretching your hole. He paused for a little so you could get used to the feeling of it.
“Can I move?”
“Mmhmm” You nod, not being able to form a coherent sentence.
He started moving slowly, but then sped up, remembering all those fuckers you had flirted with. In a way, fucking you was a win against those nobodies who thought they had a chance with you.
The pace was perfect, rough but gentle enough to not hurt you. He kept hitting your spot, your cock leaking from the pleasure. For an alien, he sure knew how to fuck a man’s ass well.
He then pulled away a little, turning you around.
“I want you to face me.”
You nodded, and he took you in his strong arms, pressing you against his muscular torso. You straddled him while being suspended in the air, his member lining up with your hole. He inserted it again, this time hitting deeper because of the position. He started kissing you while you bounced on him.
He took your cock in his hand, and using the precum he rubbed your tip, before starting to stroke you while fucking you.
“Clark…” You moaned in his ear.
“I’m also getting close, pretty boy.”
You kept that position until you both hit your climax. You came first, your cum coating his hand and your abs.
“Can I cum inside?” He asked sultrily.
You hummed, still kissing his neck and leaving the occasional bite mark from pleasure on his neck and collarbone.
That’s when you felt it, the warm liquid filling your hole. He pulled out his thick member and rested you on a table as he kissed your forehead.
“You okay?” He asked.
“Yeah. You fuck like a pornstar…Damn.”
He chuckled softly at the compliment.
“That means you’ll only flirt with me from now on then? “
“Fine, you've convinced me, Superman.”
He smiled. He officially had you for himself now. And if you ever started your little games again, he’d jealous fuck you again and again until you understood.

Note: This post is for @trinityobsessesovatings who made this cute demand asking. I thought I wouldn't finish it until tomorrow, but since I just finished it, I'm posting it now. I hope you like it.
Pairing: Caitlyn Kiramman x Fem Reader
Warning: None
Content: Fluff, etablished relationship
Summary: A sweet moment with your wife and your daughters
You loved rainy days; those were the days when you and your wife, Caitlyn, could spend the day at home.
Since the end of the war against Noxus, things had calmed down. You had accepted Councilor Medarda's proposal to join the council.
When Caitlyn was offered to take her mother's place on the council, she refused, preferring to focus on her job as sheriff. But she had warmly recommended that you take her place; she knew you would do very well.
Shortly after you joined the council, Caitlyn invited you to dinner, pretending to want to celebrate the end of the war and your new job. But at the end of the dinner, she had taken you to the garden where she often spent time with her mother.
That was where she had proposed to you. You had never been happier, your face covered in tears of joy, and you had accepted while pulling her into a long, passionate kiss.
After your marriage, you settled into the Kiramman family mansion, and soon the topic of children came up. It was something that Caitlyn and you had in common; you had always wanted children.
But the problem was that it is impossible for two women to conceive children, so it was only logical that you turned to adoption.
After a year, you had adopted two six-year-old little girls, adorable twins: Cassandra and Calliope. The name of the first had made Caitlyn smile; she found it ironic that one of her daughters bore the name of her late mother.
It took a little time to adjust, but within three months, you all got used to each other, and since then, your daughters had never left your side.
Cassandra was a bit closer to you, and Calliope to Caitlyn, but they loved you both equally. And since their adoption, your lives had been perfect.
Today, you had planned to spend the day outside with the three of you, but the rain had ruined your plans. Fortunately, you quickly found something to keep you occupied all day.
After dinner, sitting in front of the fireplace, the twins played with dolls under Caitlyn's gentle supervision, who was having fun with them. On your side, you were coming back from the kitchen where you had gone to get something to snack on.
You loved what you saw: your family gathered away from the world’s complications and the traveling noise. You saw Caitlyn soften as she looked at your daughters. You spoke from the doorstep.
-So, you're playing without me?
-Mama!
Cassandra abandoned her doll to run toward you.
-Come, I made you a drawing.
You laughed when she took your hand and pulled you toward Caitlyn and Calliope, then made you sit down before handing you a sheet full of colors. On it, you could see four stick figures, two smaller ones between two larger ones.
-Look, it's you and mom, and this is Callie and me.
-It's very beautiful, sweetie.
You placed the drawing next to you and took her in your arms. Then you turned to Caitlyn and Calliope.
-So, what were you playing before I arrived?
-The heroes of Piltover, Callie is Mel.
-And who are you?
-Mom.
Caitlyn laughed upon hearing that. Knowing that your daughters saw her as a heroine warmed her heart.
You ended up sitting with them until it was time for bed. You had to carry the girls because they could barely keep their eyes open.
Once in their beds, you tucked them in and gave each of them a kiss on the forehead to wish them goodnight and went to bed yourself.
When you joined Caitlyn in your bed, she was in her pajamas, eagerly waiting for you. She also had a hard time staying awake, but she didn’t want to sleep without you. She loved holding you in her arms when she slept; your presence warmed her inside and out.
-It was a good day.
Barely seated beside her, she pulled you into her arms, making you laugh. Then she rested her head on your shoulder.
-Yes, we should do this more often.
-Mmh.
You were about to say something else when you noticed she had fallen asleep. Instead, you turned off the light on your bedside lamp, kissed her on the top of her head, and snuggled up to her with a smile. In a few minutes, you fell asleep too.

Stan shook his head, chuckling as he hung up the phone. Geez, if he hadn't put a stop to that he was pretty sure his nephew was going to overheat and explode like one of Ford's old computers. Speaking of, he should probably make sure the fire extinguisher down in the lab wasn't expired if Ford and Dipper were gonna be messing around down there the rest of the summer.
Eh, that was a tomorrow problem. Dipper was still up in the attic with Mabel unpacking for another summer in Gravity Falls. Hopefully that meant Stan had at least twenty-four hours until the nerds started blowing stuff up. Mabel and Dipper's parents had seemed surprised the twins wanted another summer with their Grunkle Stan. After all, they were teenagers now, Stan couldn't blame their parents for expecting the two of them to want to spend a summer with kids their own age in California rather than an old fart in the middle of the woods. Well, two old farts, but their parents didn't know about the second one. Besides, Ford would probably object to being called a fart. He'd probably complain that's not the proper term Stanley, if anything I'm an old flatulence.
Stan shuddered. Man, he musta been on that boat with his brother for too long.
"GRUNKLE STAAAAAAAAAN!"
Speaking of the kids. Stan grunted as he hefted himself out of his armchair and made his way up the stairs toward the attic. There hadn't been any sound of breaking glass before Mabel's call, so he figured he could take his time getting up there. He heard a loud thump, a groan from Dipper, and a loud giggle from Mabel. Okay, maybe he should walk a little faster.
"There you are!" Mabel called. Stan stood in the doorway, staring at both of his niblings sprawled out on the floor, a half-rolled poster laying between them and a hammer still clutched in Mabel's hands.
"Dipper's trying to hang up this poster, but he's still not tall enough. I tried climbing on his back, but I guess he still hasn't gotten his puberty muscles yet." Mabel scrambled up and ran to Stan, holding out the hammer in front of her. "Can you do it?"
"I do too have muscles," Dipper grumbled, sitting up. "But no one can expect to hold up the forty pounds of sequins on your sweater and your giant head!"
Mabel stuck her tongue out at her brother. Stan laughed and took the hammer from her, ruffling her hair.
"No sweat, Pumpkin. Let a real man take over." He couldn't ignore the way Mabel's smile grew wider at the nickname. It had been almost a year since Stan got his memories back, but it seemed any little reminder that he was recovering still made his family happy. It was weird, in a good way, to see people care about him so much. And if he made sure to call Mabel by her nicknames even more than her real name, well sue him.
"You could just get me a stepladder," Dipper grumbled, shuffling to his feet.
"Ugh, then I gotta walk all the way back downstairs," Stan picked up a bent nail off the floor. "I'll just get it over with now. Besides, then Mabel can whip us up some lemonade while I work."
"Ooooo can I make Mabel-ade?"
Stan shrugged. "Sure, knock yourself out."
The words were barely out of his mouth before Mabel was squealing and running down the stairs. In the silence, Stan shifted on his feet, giving Dipper an awkward sideways glance.
"I haven't...had Mabel-ade before, have I?" he whispered.
Dipper smiled. "Nah, don't worry. That's a whole new horror you get to experience first hand."
Stan chuckled. "Right." He made his way to the wall, squinting at the wooden beams to try and figure out where he could safely sink a nail in. It's not like the place was structurally unsound, but he also hadn't had any sort of building inspection in uh...ever.
"So," Dipper started. "Why'd you want Mabel out of the room?"
Stan smiled. "Perceptive. Good job, kid." He lined up the nail on the beam that had the least amount of termite holes. "You're not in trouble, just wanted to warn ya. Speaking of 'puberty muscles', your Pops called. Apparently he thinks you still haven't had The Talk yet. He told me to keep an eye on ya and that he'd explain everything when you get home."
Stan slipped the edge of the poster under the nail, resting his elbow against the poster to hold it in place while he started hammering.
"Had himself all worked up over it. 'Oh Uncle Stanford, Dipper's a teenager now, he might start to get ideas'," Stan laughed as he finished hammering. "So just, ya know, when you see him pretend I didn't tell ya about the birds and the bees already or anything. Some dads get weird about that. Apparently, he wants to be the one to tell you himself." Stan put his hands on his hips and admired his handy-work. A little crooked, but what wasn't in this place? He nodded and turned to Dipper, who was looking at him with his eyebrows drawn together.
"But...Grunkle Stan, you didn't have that talk with me," he murmured.
"Ha! There ya go," Stan grinned, punching Dipper on the shoulder. "You're gettin' better at lyin' kid."
"But I'm not lying."
"Wow, I almost believed you that time!"
"No, Grunkle Stan," Dipper grabbed Stan's hand before he could leave the room. Stan looked down at Dipper and realized the boy's face had turned from confusion to distress. "You really didn't."
Stan frowned. "Whaddya mean I didn't? Don't tell me you forgot. I still remember having that talk with my old man." He shuddered. "Not the sorta thing you forget."
Dipper gripped his arm tighter. "How well do you remember having that conversation with me?
"Kid, you were making a face like I was about to pull your teeth out the whole time and you screamed, like, a lot. You couldn't even look at the diagrams in my Why Am I Sweaty? book."
"Grunkle Stan...none of that happened."
Stan froze. "But I remember it."
Dipper gently pulled the hammer out of Stan's hand and set it on the ground before grasping his other hand. "Have you...has this happened before?"
"Has what?" Stan could feel his heart rate picking up.
"Remembering things that aren't real."
"Alright kid, whatever joke this is, it isn't funny." Stan ripped his hands from Dipper's hold, rubbing them against his pants as his eyes darted around the room. An old habit. Looking for an exit.
Dipper held up his hands as if approaching a wild animal. "Stay calm. I can get Ford, maybe he can help figure this out. Maybe the memory gun just...um..."
"Just what?" Stan could feel his voice going shrill. "That gun was supposed to take stuff out of my head, not put stuff in!"
Dipper was beginning to look as panicked as Stan felt.
"Oh God," Stan muttered. "What else did it put in there. Dipper? What else isn't real?"
"This is the first time!" Dipper began to pace. "Unless...has Great Uncle Ford said anything? On the boat, did anything like this happen? This conversation?"
Stan shook his head, his breathing starting to feel funny. "No. But apparently asking me to remember stuff isn't exactly trustworthy - "
"He would have told me," Dipper said with certainty. "Great Uncle Ford would have told me if something happened. So it didn't. So this is the first time and, and, and, we can fix it! Right?"
Stan just stared at Dipper. They shared the same frightened eyes. For Dipper's sake, Stan nodded.
"MABEL-ADE IS READY! YOU WERE OUT OF CHERRIES, SO I USED MARBLES!"
Dipper and Stan glanced towards the stairs.
"Let's get you something to drink first," Dipper muttered, walking slowly towards Stan to take his hand again. "Then we can figure everything out."
"Sure, kid," Stan whispered. He didn't let go of Dipper's hand until they reached the kitchen.
***
They decided it was best not to tell Mabel. After all, it didn't seem like the sort of problem that the scrapbook could solve, and it wasn't worth causing her distress until they knew what they were dealing with. Instead, Dipper had been tasked with distracting Mabel while Ford and Stan commiserated in the kitchen. Stan really wasn't sure how good of a job they were doing of fooling Mabel. She had given him a weird look when he gave the kids money to go get ice cream in town. He couldn't blame her. He'd even thrown in a couple quarters so she could get sprinkles.
"Didn't Dipper mention some sort of brain scanner?" Stan offered. "I don't really like the idea of you poking around in there, but would it help?"
Ford shook his head. He was pacing the kitchen, hands clasped behind his back. "No. Project Mentem is broken. And even if I were to fix it, all I could do with it is see and or encrypt your memories. There would be no way for me to discern what's true and what's false since your mind interprets all of them as true." He stopped his pacing to take another swig of his Mabel-ade. Stan liked to give Ford grief about his coffee intake, but at this rate he'd be willing to let Ford have a couple cups of Joe if it meant he'd stop ingesting whatever sour, spicy, glittery drink Mabel was trying to pass off as lemonade. He was pretty sure Ford's eyes were starting to shake.
"So, you had no memory of this talk with Dipper until your phone call with his father?"
"Right."
"And when the memory returned, did it feel like the rest of them? Think hard, was there any difference in sensation?"
Stan shook his head. "Nope. The same sort of itch I always get."
Ford hummed. "Fiddleford told me once that some of his returning memories would get scrambled. Two puzzle pieces fitting together that shouldn't. For example, he swore there was a Christmas that I spent with him and Emma Mae, but it turned out he was combining his memories of Christmas with her with our own holiday celebration in the lab. Can you think of any other conversation with Dipper you could be mixing up? Anyone else you would have been having that conversation with other than Dipper? Perhaps your mind replaced your real conversation partner with Dipper?"
Stan frowned. "You think I just go talkin' about the birds and the bees with everybody?"
"Stan, just think."
He shrugged. "The only people I talk to who would even be young enough for that would be Soos or Wendy. There's no way I woulda given that talk to a girl, and I'm pretty sure Soos's abuelita woulda ripped me a new one if I had done anything to take away Soos's 'innocence'. I have enough self-preservation not to do that."
Ford nodded. "Alright. I feel comfortable with that reasoning." He took another swig of Mabel-ade. "However, then we're dealing with the more uncomfortable reality of the memory being completely fabricated."
"If you keep drinking that stuff, you're gonna start hallucinating too."
Ford's glass slammed down onto the table. "You've been having hallucinations?"
"No. I mean, not that I know of at least. Have I been?"
"Not that I've seen."
"Alright, then no."
Ford sighed and sat down in the chair across from Stan. He leaned forward, his elbows on the table and hands clasped together.
"I don't like hearing you do that," Ford murmured.
"Doing what?"
"Doubting your mind." Ford looked up to Stan, his eyes that horrible mix of calculating and pitiful that tended to appear these days.
Stan shrugged. "Why shouldn't I? We know I'm just making stuff up now. Heck, if Mabel didn't have pictures of all the crazy stuff we got up to last summer I'd probably think that was made up too."
Ford's eyes narrowed. "Hm. That might work."
"The scrapbook?"
"No, physical stimulus." Ford stood from the table again. "You said that when you had this conversation with Dipper you used a book to show him diagrams and such, correct?"
"Yeah. Why Am I Sweaty?"
Ford blinked. "You still have that thing?"
"Ma mailed it up back when she was cleaning out the house. She said she had a whole bunch of 'old science books' she thought her 'little scientist' might want before she donated 'em. I said I'd take 'em 'cause I was hoping some of them would be able to help with the portal. Turns out it was just a bunch of textbooks I stole from the high school and that thing. Came in handy though." Stan shrugged. "Maybe."
"Where is it?"
"If it wasn't destroyed it's probably still in my office. Why?"
Ford left the room without a word, coat billowing behind him. Stan took the opportunity to dump the rest of Ford's drink down the sink. He had a hunch he was about to have the full attention of a scientist on him for awhile and he'd prefer if that scientist wasn't vibrating like a beehive.
"Here we are!" Ford announced as he entered the room. "As I was saying, a physical stimulus might -" he stopped, staring at his glass. "My drink."
Stan shrugged. "I got thirsty."
Ford squinted at him. "Hm. Try looking through the pages of this. Maybe it will help ground you."
"But, won't that just make the fake memory more real?" Stan asked, flipping through the pages. The Pituitary Gland.
"That!" Stan shouted, pointing at the diagram. "Dipper screamed at that!"
Ford frowned. "That seems unlike him."
Stan groaned, dropping the book and putting his head in his hands. "I know but...I swear I can see it Ford. It feels so real."
Stan could hear the sound of Ford getting out of his chair, and there was suddenly a tentative hand on his shoulder.
"We'll figure it out, Stanley," he said softly.
"I just don't get why my brain would choose that memory to make," Stan mumbled through his hands. "Not that I want a buncha fake memories, but I could have at least come up with something cooler. Like winning a prize fight or kissing a mermaid or something."
Ford chuckled. "Well, I - " he was interrupted by the sound of the Shack door slamming open, frantic footsteps racing toward the kitchen. Stan lifted his head from his hands, leaning back to adopt a more nonchalant position in his chair. Ford gave his shoulder a squeeze.
"Grunkle Stan! Grunkle Ford!" Mabel burst into the kitchen, two small paper cups in her hands. "The ice cream lady said I could have two free samples, so I got two old people flavors! They're melted, but you can drink them. Who wants Butter Pecan and who wants Rum Raisin?"
Dipper shuffled in behind her, Mabel's enthusiasm waning as she took in the tense atmosphere of the room.
"What's wrong?" she asked hesitantly. "Do you guys not like those flavors?"
Stan turned to look at Ford, who had that pinched look around his eyes again.
"Mabel," Ford said gently. "Maybe you should sit down. We have something to -"
He was interrupted by a scream. Mabel had dropped the ice cream cups on the floor, leaving two splats that Waddles wasted no time in beginning to lick up. Stan sat up quickly in his chair.
"Sweetie, what - " before he could complete his sentence, Mabel had grabbed Why Am I Sweaty? and hurled it through the open kitchen window.
"Die childhood killer, die!" she shrieked. She stood huffing for a few more moments, eyes slightly crazed, before straightening up and looking towards the floor.
"Awwww piggy cream!" she cooed, squatting down to pat Waddles' head.
Dipper was the first to break the silence. "Mabel...what was that?"
She glared at Stan from the floor. "An evil book. Is that why you wanted us out of the house? So you could trap us with that horrible book when we got back?"
"You know that book?" Ford asked.
Mabel shuddered. "Ugh, unfortunately. Why do you even wanna read that thing again? It's not like it's hard to forget. Unless..." she frowned. "Were you...showing it to Grunkle Ford? Grunkle Ford, do you not know where babies come from?"
"No, I am well acquainted with a variety of human and alien reproductive systems." This time it was Stan's turn to shudder.
Ford reddened. "Not like that!"
"Wait, Mabel, you read Why Am I Sweaty?" Dipper asked. He looked to Stan, who was beginning to look green around the gills.
"You're the one I read that to?" Stan asked hoarsely. "But that's...that's not for you! I thought I read that to Dipper, you're telling me that I read that to...What?!"
Mabel slowed her petting of Waddles, beginning to look sheepish. "Well...you didn't know it was me. You thought I was Dipper."
Stan's mouth hung open. "Are you telling me my brain was swiss cheese before the memory gun?"
"Ohhhhhhhhhhhh," Dipper groaned, slapping his hand against his head. "That was during the whole carpet thing wasn't it."
Mabel nodded.
"Carpet thing?" Ford asked.
"Yeah," Mabel began to scritch under Waddles' chin. "That carpet from your secret room. It made everybody switch bodies. I was Dipper for awhile and he was me. Soos was Waddles and Waddles was Soos!" Mabel grinned, holding up Waddles to stand on two legs. "Just look at this adorable little former handyman!"
"I was also Waddles," Dipper admitted. "A lot of people were a lot of people. McGucket tried to eat Soos."
Ford frowned. "Soos as Waddles?"
Dipper and Mabel shared a look.
"Never mind all that," Mabel offered, smiling tightly. "Let's talk about why Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford were talking about puberty. Do old people do it twice or something?"
Ford pinched the bridge of his nose. "We weren't talking about puberty, we were talking about a memory Stanley had of discussing puberty with Dipper. Which Dipper thought wasn't real. Now we know why."
Stan raised his hand. "I would now like to pivot the discussion to Ford not leaving his experiments lying around where small children can find them."
"Wait!" Mabel gasped. "Does this mean that Dipper hasn't had the talk yet?" She leapt to her feet. "Because Mom gave me the girl one when we got home last summer! Does this mean I know the girl one and the boy one and Dipper knows none of them?"
Dipper sighed. "Mabel, I've seen nature documentaries."
Mabel whooped. "I know more about something than Dipper! Like, an actual science thing!"
"Mabel, I still know about - "
"Oh yeah?" Mabel reached into her skirt pocket. "Then what's this then?" With a wicked grin she slapped a bright pink wrapper covered in stars onto the kitchen table. Stan slapped his hands over his eyes. Ford's face went slack. Dipper grimaced.
"Mabel...I share a bathroom with you, I know what a pad is."
Ford cleared his throat. "They certainly," he coughed. "They certainly have changed a lot in the past thirty years."
Mabel frowned. "Were the old ones in black and white?"
Stan groaned. "Can we skip ahead to the part where Sixer burns that carpet and we all celebrate that I'm not actually losing my mind?"
Mabel wrapped her arms around Stan, pulling him into a big hug. "Of course! I'll go grab the lighter fluid!" And with that she fled from the room, snatching the pad off the table as she went. Stan lifted his head from his hands and the three Pines men stared at each other awkwardly.
"Well," Ford clapped his hand back on Stan's shoulder. "Another mystery solved."
Dipper nodded. "Sorry to freak you guys out like that. I don't know how I didn't think about the whole 'body swap' thing earlier."
Stan hefted himself up from the table. "No sweat, kid. Er." The three of them turned to the window where Gompers could be seen chomping away at the pages of Why Am I Sweaty?
They turned to each other. A silent agreement was made. Stan grabbed the popsicles out of the freezer and they began to file out of the kitchen, ready to meet Mabel at the fire pit to send that carpet back to Hell where it belonged. If there was anything they'd learned from last summer, it was that some knowledge was best left hidden.
AN: Sequel to this and this! I may or may not manage to get another one done by the end of Stanuary tomorrow (probably not), but either way, thanks for joining me!

Note
Could I request Dr Ratio's s/o defending him when people insult him (calling him a boring lover and a man of loose morals)?
A/n: This request was long coming, but I hope you enjoy this nonetheless! Dr. Ratio defense squad, assemble! I feel a little rusty writing this, so I hope it's all good :,)
Contents: Veritas Ratio x GN!Reader, fluff, headcanon format
Words: 1163
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-It is well known that Dr. Veritas Ratio is well known throughout the entire cosmos for his feats, but however good or grand those accomplishments may be, not everyone looks at them fondly
-Not to mention that one particular hater he has noticed posting about him for 10 years, without a stop? He honestly admires their persistence. It takes a lot to be a hater too y’know
-There was a time where even Veritas wasn’t made of tougher skin, when the comments really did get to him; thankfully, he had the patience and pride to get him through without publicly reacting in a way that would only fan those flames further. Still, some words have left their mark on him - even diamonds can suffer scratches and cracks
-You, as his partner, naturally knew of these things. You’ve picked up on them from the things he has told you and from his body language when put in certain situations. And when you did openly ask him about it, although he appears stiff, he did not lie to you in private
-Knowing his innermost opinions and his background was, probably, what drew you to be particularly defensive over your the plaster-head-donning professor. They were all so quick to judge, yet none of them took a moment to think how much hard work it actually took for Ratio to reach the position he was in now. Knowledge does not fall into your hands, you have to work for it.
-And one day, this inner justice seeker had gone short of patience. The academy was always filled with wandering students and professors alike, all chattering among each other during breaks. And you just happened to pass by a couple conversing about him.
-Ears perked and focused on the little group, you heard them speak rather unsavory words about a professor. Words ‘hard exam, unpassable, books that were too thick and chalk being thrown’ were all mentioned in their conversation, and it truly didn’t take a genius to figure out who the person in question was. Then they began to throw out insults they wouldn’t dare speak in front of another professor, let alone Veritas. But worst of all, they touched upon the subject of his relationship, your relationship, making such wild claims you had to wonder whether they were really talking about Veritas or someone else. Even worse - since it can always get worse - an assistant professor joined in on this gossip, spilling a “fact” that he even had other lovers than you and that he had loose morals.
-WHAT?
-Feeling your blood boiling and teeth grinding together, you couldn’t hold it within yourself. It was wrong! Ratio worked for his place and knowledge and pay, and sure - his exams and classes were tough, but he was neither a bully or an unjust professor!
-That little group heard you loud and clear, and one did try to argue back but was quickly silenced. And one tried to walk away - you didn’t let that happen either. The people close around stopped and gaped, and perhaps they saw similar or shared characteristics between you and Veritas, maybe that’s why they also didn’t feel brave enough to keep talking or leave before you’re done. Who is to say? But what’s true is that they listened to you.
-As you were getting to the end of your speech of defense, a familiar figure walked out of one of the classrooms close by. Clearing his throat he sent you a look, ‘enough’ he said without a word, but he was not angry. The students were dismissed after he feigned ignorance to the situation, as if he hadn’t heard a peep outside of those four walls of the classroom.
-”I am done for today, have you wanted something of me? Anything you need?”
-He spoke calmly, but his eyes showed some softness you barely ever saw. It was a rare sight, a look reserved for when he looked at you in bed, having you in his arms or when you held him, when he told you he wasn’t staring or being ‘too sappy’, but he was just looking at you, perhaps even admiring ‘if he may be so bold as to say that’.
-”A walk would be nice, I even got us a spot at that restaurant for lunch”
-And so it was. The walk towards the location was unusually quiet, and somewhere along the way he uttered “You shouldn’t have caused such a scene in the hallway”, his tone once more lacking the anger many expected of him.
-”I should have, and I did. They were being rude and such behaviour is not fit for any student” You have been a student once, and there were terrible professors and your own opinions of them had been sour at some points in time, sure, but to openly spit venom? That was ridiculous. Or were you perhaps being stubborn, hypocritical? You wouldn’t say so. They were being rude, period.
-”They are students, they are also young. Gossip, however much unsavory, and however much I do not like it, is natural for them. It is not something that needs to be challenged, especially in a situation like this”
-You gave him an unsatisfied look, and he returned it in equal measure. It would take a while to convince him.
-”It doesn’t matter.. I did what I did, because I had enough of hearing people spread lies about you.. Disagree with me as much as you wish, but I’d do it again”
-He sighed and shook his head. He wanted to say something more, but for once he chose to keep quiet. It was better to leave it be as you were still not cooled off from the encounter
-The rest of the evening went well, and you touched upon the subject briefly, not going too in depth. Ratio told you about his day, the upcoming events and plans, and you told him about yours. It was enjoyable, and it certainly helped to calm you both down
-But once you both came home and changed into more leisure wear, you told him of the thorn you felt whenever people spoke badly about him. He only looked at you, told you he understand, but “My name has been through a lot, I can take it”
-You weren’t sure if you wanted to slap some sense into him or kiss your reasons into his skin. He may be used to it, but you weren’t and you didn’t plan on getting used to it. And even as you took his face firmly between the two of your hands and brought him closer so he could hear your crystal clear, even as you saw the defiance melting from his eyes, he looked more vulnerable than ever; not angry, not sad or shocked or disappointed - vulnerable.
-So with conviction you kiss his face more times than you care to count and tell him he is someone worth defending, no matter what

Ateez finding out that you're pregnant
Requested? Yes!
Request: Hi! <3 I loved your ATEEZ reaction with a low maintenance partner! I was wondering if I could make a request? Either: How each member prefers to sleep with you at night/whether they like to be held or do the holding/etc. I did see the sleeping positions one but I figured this one was different enough. If not that's totally fine!! Otherwise, maybe a pregnancy one, I saw the ones planned for svt and I'd love to see ateez. tysm!! <3’
TW/CW: pregnancy and baby talk. Skip if you aren’t into that.
Hongjoong
The picture of totally put together. There will be only a split second of shock before he’s holding you tight and telling you how happy he is about the news. If you were nervous about the news (which I think most people are at least a little), he’s putting your mind at ease immediately. No, it’s not too soon. No, he’s not worried about the group or the company. Yes, he can’t wait to start a family.
Seonghwa
Stunned silence. You actually think you might have broken him. Once he starts talking, it’s one half-finished question only to be interrupted by another half-finished question, but you get the picture so you explain that you realized you were late and took a test. If the shock goes on so long that you feel like this whole thing is going down the drain, he’ll snap out of it to assure you he’s thrilled, he might just need some time to wrap his head around it.
Yunho
He had a sneaking suspicion when you got a ‘stomach bug’. He doesn’t say anything right away and you’d be too busy being sick to care. So he simply takes you to the doctor. He’s totally silent when you stammer that you don’t need to take a test and the doctor assures you it’s just to eliminate potential causes. When the doctor announces your results, he’s already braced for the shock and handles it far more gracefully than you do. Please, he’d be such a steady partner, change my mind.
Yeosang
When you tell him, he just smiles and nods. You ask if he has anything to say and he smiles and says no. This sort of questioning goes on until you really aren’t convinced he even heard you. You don’t feel good and this is a tough topic if only because it’s a surprise, and the whole thing makes you impatient. “Are you even listening? I said I’m pregnant!” The frustration will double when he just smiles and says, “I know. At least I suspected.” He pulls you in for a hug as you rage, “Then why didn’t you tell me??? I didn’t know!!!” Irritatingly calm in the face of such news.
San
The gentlest of guys and you can’t convince me otherwise. After like the third bout of illness in one morning, he puts you back to bed and very carefully brings up the possibility. He hates the panic that flashes across your face at the mere mention of it and he decides now is a great time to tell you that he’d love it if you were expecting. It puts your mind at ease and the conversation is a slow buildup to you finally asking him to get the tests. Super sweet and supportive even before the tests are purchased.
Mingi
Panic. I could leave it at that but I guess I won’t. He does not know what to do with this information and might not handle it gracefully. He hates that he can see how nervous and upset you are but I envision he’d need to step away. Imagine him going to an older member in crisis mode. Also, imagine Hongjoong blowing up because he just left you like that without any comfort. After some careful coaching, his older members will demand he go and make things right. When he calms down and thinks of the future, he likes it, but a big change like that is scary.
Wooyoung
He just shows up with a couple of tests and demands that you take it. It’s so perplexing that you’re kind of waiting for the punchline (because he always has one). But he really doesn’t have one now and he’s very serious. Now, that doesn’t mean he’s not a smart ass!! He’ll say something like, “You’ve been biting my head off for weeks, you keep gagging at the food I make, and you missed your period last month. Take it so I know how offended to be.” He’s joking on that last bit because of how pale you get at the implication. He’s thrilled about the news, but he’s equally thrilled to know that you don’t just hate him!!
Jongho
Overjoyed. Like there’s not even a moment of shock. The way he holds you close and tells you how happy he is in an instant really smashes any doubts you might have had. Totally doting immediately. I’m serious, do not move, do not pick anything up, do not try to do anything for yourself. I think normally he would not baby his partner quite so much, but he’d do a complete 180 with this news. Prepare to be coddled for at least 9 months, or maybe forever, idk.

I honestly just wanted one single plot step that I could not predict given the 10 year wait. More behind the cut, I talk about Emet too, and I'm comparing his writing favorably to Solas' writing and why it worked better for me personally, but I am just talking about the writing skill that went into the games and not the dudes themselves, I love them both dearly of course. idk this is a mess and I am not going to edit it for clarity
For me, the game was a series of me saying
"ok I knew that. cool."
"oh yeah, I knew that. I guess it's good that the larger fandom knows about that now."
"nice, but yeah I already knew that too"
"that was something we've been talking about a lot for years"
"this thing they are acting like is a huge enormous reveal that the characters could not possibly have deduced through simply thinking about it in depth over the 10 years... the fans easily figured out by thinking about it in depth 10 years ago. So you would think his girlfriend would be able to figure it out more easily than we did. Like, why couldn't the game have been like 'oh lavellan already figured that out a while ago' it would have cost them nothing"
"this is something I've been thinking about for years, and now that it's being revealed, the companions' reactions to it are very irritating and jarring and unnecessary and I really dislike the experience I'm having right now, in this, the hour of my greatest triumph"
"this thing that is happening on my screen right now is something that I wrote an essay about 2 years ago describing how it would be a letdown if it happened without the correct setup"
"this way that they're characterizing Solas makes him less likable and less interesting than I have been finding him for all these years, and I have had people tell me 'no, he's simpler than you think' for years but I guess I was wrong, he really is simpler than I thought, so that fucking sucks. I wish I could take that information out of my brain."
"this thing is a retcon of information I have been thinking about for 10 years, and so I don't know how to follow along with this new direction, and I'm not sure if I even want to because it's not particularly interesting anyway"
"aw that was sweet"
"why is it like, so very impossible to have an honest back-and-forth with my favorite character about the dilemma that was most interesting to me about the previous game"
and then, as soon as, like, the other fans had caught up to the Solas lore that was really obvious from the other games, the game was.... over without anything surprising happening, or introducing a new element or plot point or perspective, or a real true twist (or two, or three) for those of us who have thought about it too hard for too long. It was very simple and easy, much, much, much, much easier than I was imagining. It all felt sort of like that Nicholson quote:
Tumblr media
The thing was, the whole story was so interesting to think about because in 10 years, I couldn't figure out a good solution to it!!!!! It's why I was never able to write post-game fanfic about it. So I was stoked to find out some reveal we never knew about, some new information, in maybe a SERIES of steps of new information, that made the situation more complicated but also something that could be navigated by everyone involved. I know it was asking for a lot, but they had TEN YEARS, and they seemingly had set up the things they did in DAI on purpose, so surely they had some idea of a complex and satisfying narrative that would reconcile everyone.
The reason why I was expecting this is because FFXIV did a very similar story arc, which was started AND concluded WITHIN those 10 years (so it took the FFXIV team far less time to deliver as well). And the conclusion to the story in FFXIV did what I was expecting Dragon Age to do. So I thought, "holy shit, if this is the FFXIV version of this plot, how much more complicated is DA4 going to be!?!?" The DA devs also PLAYED FFXIV so they were completely aware, several years ago, of a satisfying story ending that was pretty darn similar.
People are probably going to think "oh, well Chelsea was disappointed because she spent too much time building it up in her head" but that's exactly it - I actually speculated and thought about FFXIV's story IN DEPTH NONSTOP for a year+ before its ending came out, and the ending absolutely blew me away. FFXIV Endwalker managed to introduce information and new story elements that I was not able to figure out in the YEAR I spent speculating on the ending of FFXIV's story. It took a complicated situation and revealed several several more facets to it that I was not able to predict, but were very interesting and thematically compelling, and took us all to surprising and climactic places that we could not have predicted.
Endwalker ("end" is in the title on purpose) too, was written to be THE ULTIMATE SATISFYING ENDING for a very long-running story in the exactly way that Veilguard SHOULD HAVE for Dragon Age, so while this complexity is being explored, FFXIV also gave catharsis to many different plot threads that have been built up through the previous expansions, until finally it ends with a bang. The story is desperately good to me, I loved it, it gave me closure for Dragon Age long before Veilguard was even revealed, and going back and looking at its story has made this whole thing far less painful for me.
So, I actually did not have a picture in my mind for how things SHOULD go. I just had the thought "I hope it's complicated and there are points of view or facts that we haven't before been exposed to, and the situation is resolved respectfully for Solas, not making him look like a fucking idiot (lol, the only thing I asked for). I don't even care what happens to Solas and Lavellan, I just need the story to be complicated and interesting to think about. Please, god, don't let it be "solas is wrong and he just needs to be convinced" because that's like the simplest story you could tell with this setup"
(btw they managed to tell Emet-Selch's story without making him seem like he's being an idiot on purpose or can never get anything right, and in fact the more the story goes on, the more you think of him as smart and capable and cool, so it is possible to write.... I wasn't asking for the entire moon)
And I played it and... yeah. Most of the story beats were more simple than I wanted them to be, a lot of them didn't make sense in my heart given the writing from Inquisition. (This is another essay, but if Solas' thematic story arc was always about him needing to let go of regrets, why was his personal quest the way it was? After that quest, doesn't he end up regretting not doing more....? Why did he never really talk about regret during Inquisition? If he was so trapped by regret, why was he able to do so many actions? It doesn't mesh well to me. The whole regret thing was very quarter-baked to me, I don't even like thinking about it.) His story never seemed like one that was as simple as being about one man's regrets, but then, I guess, it was always just about one man's regrets.
Emet-Selch's personal storyline (and the way it interacts with and affects the larger story) is very similar but much more cohesive and satisfying to me. It would be difficult to explain why without the aforementioned 5-hour essay. Emet-Selch's story IS about grief and anguish on a world-shaping scale in a similar way that Solas' was apparently always about letting go of regret, but Emet's story was also very pointedly and beautifully about that one theme for the entirety of his story from every tiny detail, from beginning to end - meanwhile, it seemed to me that they tried to introduce 'regret' as the main thrust of Solas' story only in the short story with the Regret demon onward.
From Inquisition just by itself, the closest I personally could get to a story theme for Solas was his inability to trust others hurting him and the world, but his trusting others in DA4 wasn't really addressed to my satisfaction. He is never required to trust anyone before the ending, he never opens up or makes himself vulnerable at all. People find out information about him, he never really dynamically opens himself. So the personal story I thought he had was never addressed at all, while a new one about regret was introduced that never made a ton of sense to me. And I don't think this is just because of my expectations - my reaction to FFXIV proves that I am able to meet good writing where it goes in surprising directions, as long as it's interesting and thoughtful and clear.
And I think this might be part of what people felt was off about the ending - Solas is sort of uninvolved in the revelations that are about him, and doesn't do much to be part of his own ending. Part of what I loved about Solas in Inquisition is that he is not controlled by you in any way, and so he feels like his own person with a very strong sense of character.
Anyway, Emet-Selch, in a very comparable and arguably more extreme plot position, is very involved in the revelations about himself, he always feels like a very strong character who cannot be affected by the player, and the whole situation is handled with deft emotion and care and delicacy. The story is comparatively very uninterested in litigating Emet-Selch or putting him on trial - the story allows you to simply feel the way that you feel in an organic way, and Emet's story spends that energy instead actually exploring his thematic material about grief and legacy, and the larger story theme of existentialism instead, in a way that is very refreshing and interesting. I've seen a lot of western stories tie themselves in knots over "redemption" and frankly it's almost never been interesting at all. Who cares about any of that. lol
(Now, I guess this is a matter of preference, because some people really like being able to shape a character's story, but idk I rewatched the ending of FFXIV and even though there wasn't a choice with Emet, because it isn't a branching story, his story felt more satisfying to me, maybe because there isn't a patronizing choice to be made for him. He is who he is, and he fulfills a very beautiful narrative role and purpose that no other character could in the story.)
I don't know how this could have been improved to me and still allowed players to choose Solas' ending for him, but I can actually think of a few different methods, none of which involve Rook condescendingly and patronizingly lecturing Solas as if Solas had never thought about a single aspect of this horrible situation he's in before that very moment that Rook lectures him lmfao.
All this to say... idk I'm writing this and I am not going back to edit it so it's stream-of-consciousness. But yeah
I just wanted the story to be complicated on a few more levels than I could have predicted. I genuinely don't care what happened, but I thought of a few twists like the Veil coming down and yeah, I was expecting A Single Twist or reveal to happen. In a Dragon Age game.
I wanted Solas to seem cool and capable and noble and smart, and actually feel like he was as old and experienced as he is.
I wanted a clear theme I could sink my teeth into
Like notice I didn't even say anything about Solavellan. Like I never in 100 years thought they were getting a happy ending where they were both alive in bodies, and I like that we got that, but I would honestly trade it for a more complicated story. To me, if a story is sad you can always write fanfic, but if a story isn't COMPLICATED, that's a much more urgent issue.
These 3 things DA4 didn't give me in a way that satisfied me but FFXIV did. anyway idk the way my hyperfixations work, I completely switch to a new subject so talking about Dragon Age is actually hard for me right now.

Could I request a Jj x reader angst but with a happy ending ? Reader and Jj get into a fight and he says nasty things to her and they don’t speak for days until he sees her at a party where someone is flirting with her and they talk it out ?
TALK IT OUT.
jj maybank x kook! reader.
[ a/n ; this took entirely way too long for me to finish but lol hope you enjoy! ]
"JJ?" you called out softly, hearing the familiar onset of knocks at your bedroom window.
You could spot him through the glass– wearing a new bruise on his cheek. Sleepiness long forgotten, you jumped out of bed, quickly opening your window and ushering him in.
"Hey, Princess." He grinned the same toothy smile, as if his left cheek wasn't currently throbbing. Complying with your fussy movements, he sat at the edge of the bed, watching you rummage quietly around for a first aid kit.
You huffed, heading to your bathroom before coming back, the small bag in hand. "Jesus, what happened?" You muttered, more of a hypothetical question than anything else.
"You should see the other guy." He lightly jokes, avoiding the question altogether. It was like this every time– he'd show up, beaten and bruised, refusing to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation. And you knew it was coming from home, but JJ never let you catch onto more than that.
"JJ." You finally sighed out, tone stern.
"Y/n." He responded, grinning like a fool.
"I'm serious," you huffed. "You gotta tell me what's going on. This- this isn't healthy-"
"What, you want me to stop coming over here? I don't got anywhere else to go!" He scoffed, suddenly defensive.
"I want you to be honest with me!" You pleaded, still sitting at the edge of the bed, looking up as he paced throughout your room. "I know there's something going on at home, and I want to help, JJ-"
"You want me to be honest?" He breathed out, tongue poking at his cheek before he spoke up again. "Alright. Yeah, here's honesty- you live such a perfect life, princess. Nice house, nice family, living on figure 8. And you're what- hanging out with me? Some dirt bag from the cut? You wouldn't get what my life's like- alright? You can't understand."
"But I want to understand," you breathed out, standing and trying to meet his eyes. "If you'd just let me-"
"God, Y/n, I'm not some charity case! What, you gonna call CPS on me? Try and fix me? I'm already fucked up, I get that. But I don't need your fake pity. This- I don't know what you thought this was," he scoffs, each word digging further into your chest like a blade, "But this isn't a relationship, princess. It was just fun, okay? So stop tryin' to get all sappy-feely on me."
You recoiled at his words, going quiet. Your mind raced through all your times together, the pillow talks, late night rendezvous at the beach, or even the small and intimate moments where he'd come over, relying on you to patch him up and inevitably staying the night in your bed.
"Right," you agreed softly, missing the subtle regret on his face. "Sorry."
"Princess-"
"No, no, you're right," you shook your head, breathing out. "It's just casual. I shouldn't have overstepped," you cleared your throat, nodding towards the window. "You should go."
He went quiet, mouth opening and closing as if he tried to think of what to say in response. But he settled for a quick nod, crawling back out the window.
You don't reach out the next couple of days, ignoring JJ's attempts of trying to make small talk. But you'd caught yourself sulking in bed, deciding you needed to make a change. Sarah had coaxed you out of bed, deciding that a party with the kooks would be the best way to let loose.
You had your doubts, but she wouldn't take no for an answer.
So there you stood, next to the bonfire with a beer in hand. The night had been completely uneventful, until you were approached by some other party goer. You knew of the boy, his name has started with an E. Ethan? Evan? You racked your brain, plastering on a polite smile as he greeted you.
"Hey, Y/n," he grinned, nodding your way. "Having fun?"
"Hey, E..." you trailed off, a shy, slightly bashful smile on your face.
"Eden." He finished for you, chuckling. "Where's your bodyguard?"
You furrowed a brow, confused before it clicked. You and JJ always ended up at parties together, many aware of the unofficial official relationship you two had. It was another cruel reminder of his absence, but you pulled yourself out of it.
"Maybank? He's not- we're not really.."
"So you're available?" Eden grinned, his once boyish grin morphing into something that could only cause discomfort. You glanced around, hoping for an outlet out of the conversation.
"Okay, even if I was-" you scoffed, eyes widening when he took a step closer, the alcohol all consuming from his breath.
"Nah, cmon, let's go-"
"Hey, dickwad!"
You'd never been so happy to hear the familiar voice, turning and relaxing at the sight of his messy locks. JJ's arms were immediately on you, wrapping over your shoulder. "Tryin' to steal my girl?"
"Woah, she told me-"
"Get lost," JJ cut him off, grinning and waving him off with a gesture. Once he was out of sight, the blonde turned back to you, expression softening with concern. "You alright, baby? He didn't try anything, did-"
"I'm fine." You muttered, pulling back from his hold. You didn't meet his eye, your cold tone causing his shoulders to droop.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay?" He sighed, looking down at you. He paused, trying to collect his scattered thoughts. "I just- I've never really done anything more than hookups-"
"That's not an excuse-"
"Let me finish, woman," he huffed, pressing a finger over your lips to shut you up, suppressing a grin at the cute pout on your face. "I know it's not an excuse. But I got scared, and I didn't mean it, okay? It's just- you're perfect. You're from this great, rich, and nice family and I'm just- I'm just me. I'm broke, I have a dad who beats me, dirt poor-"
"You don't have to berate yourself so much, it's making me start to feel bad." You grumbled out, looking down at the space between you two.
"So you're sayin' it's working?" He grinned, lowering his head to meet your eyes. As the corners of your mouth quirked up, he pushed further. "Cmon, princess, y'know I'm sorry. Won't happen again."
You huffed at the promise, rolling your eyes. "Promise?"
"Scout's honor." JJ teased, eyes twinkling as he pressed a kiss to the corner of your mouth.
Any cold facade you'd put on melted at that, as you leaned in, head burying into his chest. "Asshole."
"I know." He laughed, playfully tickling your side. "And 'm sorry. Promise I'll talk with you about all that stuff."
"Good," you nodded, smiling softly up at him.
"Great," JJ added, grinning back. "Now can we please go back to the party so we can watch a drunk Kie yell about saving those damn turtles?"

Found - Dad! Choi Seung Hyun/T.O.P & Idol! Teen! Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Growing up you always had one best friend, your mom, especially after your dad had left you before you were born. So what happens whenever a new career path ends your life-long search for your Appa?
Warnings: None that I can really think of, but if I miss one please let me know lovelies!
Translations:
Ttal-a : Daughter. An informal way for a parent to address their daughter.
You grew up being your mom's best friend, after your father had left her before you were born, it only left the two of you to take care of each other. You were an amazing daughter in your mother's eyes, always doing more than what was asked of you, even if it meant giving up something you wanted or needed.
Even through all of it, you were still weighed down by a question you had for so long, you couldn't remember a time where you didn't have it. It was basically what formed you into the determined person you are today, Who was the man who helped make you? What did he contribute in making you? Did you have his eyes? Or maybe the facial structure you had never been able to match to any of your other relatives on your mother's side. You had so many questions, that you'd always be grounded for asking, so you devoted your free time in trying to find that man, determined to find out everything about your father's family, I mean, they were your family too, right?
Your search would become severely delayed whenever you confidently signed on to an Agency to become a new idol, hoping that it'd come out at least a little successful. It wasn't a secret you came from a rougher side of the city, a small home, with broken floorboards, barely livable, but you did what you could to make it safe for your mother, especially with her worsening health. You'd spend days at a time, training at the agency, if you weren't in training, you were recording and rehearsing for your debut album, and if you weren't doing that? You'd be in meetings with different staff members, if not that? You were doing whatever you could for your mom.
As you'd start to grow in fame, your fans would take notice to certain similarities between you and another Idol, you'd be honored by their theories, with your style of music really ranging, it mainly had one common variant in each song, your ability to rap, being able to rap over 10.13 Syllables per second. The way they'd constantly swear T.O.P from BigBang was a long lost brother, or father, would always charm you, you'd look up to the rapper, especially with him basically setting the bar for any and all K-pop rappers, it was an extreme compliment for you to be compared to him.
You'd never meet T.O.P until your manager would pull him into your first stage rehearsal, it'd be three weeks before you first show, so everybody on your team was stressed, especially whenever you and your chorographer couldn't figure out what you'd do while rapping one of your verses. With rapping, it took a lot of air out of you, especially trying to keep your pitch and keep up with the backtracks, so you couldn't move much, if you'd jump around, run, or dance, you'd surely run out of air before the verse ended, but you also couldn't just stand there. "Y/n! Our little Aein! This is T.O.P, I'm sure you know of him, he's going to help your little problem" YG would cheer, introducing you both before disappearing again into the hall, most likely going to check on other idols and trainees. "Hello, you can just call me Seung Hyun, it's a pleasure to meet you, I've heard you in the studio before, you're rapping is crazy" He smiled, laughing a bit as you both bowed in sync with each other "Nice to meet you! I'm y/n, but you know that" You smiled softly before backing up slightly as your choreographer took over the conversation, as you watched the two converse, you couldn't brush off the feeling of familiarity towards the man, but you couldn't quite place it.
You'd end up spending almost three more hours working on the rest of your choreography, finally calling it quits whenever Seung Hyun spotted you asleep against the wall. He was impressed, for such a young teenager, you were determined to make waves in the industry, yes you were only 17, but you were ready, your kindness and professionalism winning over YG and the others, almost immediately.
You'd barely remember getting home, as you woke up in your own bed, glancing around before you made your way out to the kitchen hearing your mother talking with somebody over the phone. As she finished her phone call, you tiredly sat at the counter, resting your head on your hands as you yawned. "That was your manager, he said you're doing well with your fans" She smiled towards you, handing over a plate of breakfast as she sat next to you "I know! They're so amazing, and they keep coming up with these awesome theories about who my dad might be" You smiled, not noticing her disgusted look, you never understood why she wouldn't ever talk about your father, other than to bash him, and to remind you that he left you, and she stayed. "Some people think it's rapper, T.o.p?" You added on, smiling softly as she looked at you confused "Who would ever name their child, T.o.p?" She asked, her tone dripping in annoyance and disgust "Well, that's his stage name, his real name is Choi Seung Hyun" You replied, jumping slightly as her hand slammed against the counter "That name will not be spoken in my home!" She screamed, you quickly stood up, going to apologize, only to have interrupted by her pointing to the door aggressively. Getting her message, you walked out of the front door, confused, standing there for a moment before pulling out your phone.
You weren't sure who to call, it was still pretty early, but you needed a ride to YG's agency building, walking that far would be damn near impossible to do, especially with you needing to be there, in about 32 minutes. As you held your phone to your ear, you sat on the curb anxiously picking at your socks, only now realizing, you were still in nightclothes and no shoes, but if your Umma wanted you out, who were you to argue? It'd be disrespectful as a daughter if you did. "Hello?" You heard a deep sleepy voice call through the phone, you were hesitant to speak at first, only whenever you realized he might fall back asleep, you spoke "Hey..Um..It's Y/n, are you free?" You asked nervously, hearing the older male sigh, you started to regret calling him, why not call YG? He might've been able to help. "Y-Yea yea, what's..what's going on?" Seung Hyun tiredly asked as he rolled out of the bed, running a hand over his face as he tried to wake himself up more "So...I think my mom might hate you.." You whispered, leaning your head down to rest on your knees "I brought you up..and she kicked me out..I don't know how long for- and! I'm not asking for a place to stay, I-I just..need a ride" You rambled, your anxiety starting to build whenever you heard nothing in reply, it took a moment for Seung Hyun to wrack his brain; maybe that's why your last name sounded so familiar. "Who's your mom?" He asked as he started to get dressed, not planning on leaving you to walk to the agency building. "Y/m/n l/n" You replied, pulling your nightshirt tighter around you as the morning rush started to pick up more, you could hear Seung Hyun's small huff through the phone "I'll be there in about...ten?" He replied, not really replying to your answer before the phone call was cut off. Why were both him and your mom acting so strange? Did they have something going on together?...was he..?
It would be six weeks of you both getting to know each other and picking up on each other's similar habits between you both, there was just something so familiar about each other, but neither of you could place it. Seung Hyun felt a connection towards you, always wanting to make sure you were on the right track, you had everything you needed, and you were protected; You felt almost the same, you just felt calm and safe whenever you were with Seung Hyun, it wasn't that you didn't normally feel safe, but you knew if you needed anything, even if it was a pretty rough situation, you could always call him for help. Your new friendship only fueled fan rumors that Seung Hyun was your father even more, especially with how you interacted during the family concerts, your manager would hold after your debut.
After a while though, Seung Hyun took notice to the fact, you'd never really do what you wanted, he never saw you doing any hobbies, or anything really other than work and favors for others. So, one night he'd find you in the recording studio, sitting at the table as you scrolled on your laptop, groaning loudly whenever you hit another dead end. You were getting so close to giving up, starting to believe maybe your dad just wasn't there out, or at least, wanted nothing to do with you. "Hey...What's going on? Need help?" He offered quickly, taking in your pissed off state, you reminded him of your mother, he'd still be oblivious to the fact he was the person you were looking for, instead, only knowing himself as one of your mother's exes. "No, No. I'm um- working" You rambled, scrambling to close your laptop, turning your attention towards him as you sighed "Working, yes, I am also working then- stop lying and tell me what's up" He replied sarcastically before his tone turned serious as he sat down next to you. "Fine, but you can't..tell anybody" You huffed, opening your computer back up to show him everything you had found out so far from your grandmother and aunt about your dad "I just..want to find him, and I know it probably sounds weird and creepy, but I just-" Seung Hyun cut your rambling off by coughing slightly "It's not either of those things, you're just a kid who misses a parent" He replied, scooting closer to read over what was presented on the screen. Seung Hyun had to hide his nervousness as he read further down the list, as he got to the end, he started to do the math in his head, feeling his heart drop slightly whenever he started to get a feeling maybe your mother wasn't entirely truthful about their break-up.
Seung Hyun did his best to stay calm for the rest of the night, not wanting to give you any false hopes, especially with the way you were speaking of your hopes of one day finding him. The next morning though? He was already out of his home as soon as the sun came up, making his way towards your old residence, you now happily living in one of the dorms at the agency building. Whenever your mother ended things with him, she had told this elaborate story about how she was too old to chase around a K-pop idol, being almost five years younger than her, he believed it, not really thinking much of it. As he knocked on your mother's front door though, he started to heavily question her story, which caused frustration to start growing inside of his body. "Hell- No! Get out of here!" Your mother shouted loudly, glaring daggers at Seung Hyun as she huffed, not wanting to accept the fact her almost 18-year-old lie was finally busted. "Y/m/n. We need to speak about Y/n" He demanded, ignoring your mother's protests as he entered the familiar home, it had severely fallen apart since he had been here last, but everything was still in its original place. "Y/n is my daughter. only mine! You have no right coming into my home! You- You disrespectful-" Seung Hyun was quick to cut your mother off with a harsh glare and a scoff "I don't care if I'm disrespecting you! Unless you were unfaithful while we were together- you know as much as I do, That poor kid has grown up without a dad, because of you" He snapped, standing in his spot next to the door as your mother stepped closer, poking his chest as she stood on her tip toes to get in his face "No! Because you weren't capable of being a father! It's your fault! You were young and immature!" She shouted back, hatred dripping from her tone as Seung Hyun took a step back, laughing sarcastically "How could you possibly know, if you never let me know you were having my kid!" He shouted back, freezing whenever he heard the door next to him open "U-Umma?" You whispered, standing in shock as you stared at the both of them, was he serious? You could tell by their shocked and scared facial expressions; you had finally found out the truth. "Y/n.." Seung Hyun started before you took off back out of the door, needing a moment to wrap your head around the information overload you had just received. "Just let her go, she needs time" Your mother huffed, glaring towards your dad one final time "Get. the fuck. out" She snapped, glaring at her in return, Seung Hyun quickly rushed out, calling your name as he tried to spot what way you went.
You'd be walking down the street whenever Seung Hyun would find you, again, your face bright red from the cold wind, and your cheeks stained with tears. Why was your mom acting so hateful lately? Why did they both hide who your father was? Did Seung Hyun know the entire time? What was Seung Hyun saying about not knowing? You were pulled out of your thoughts by a car door shutting, and quick footsteps behind you. "Y/n! Y/n! Would you just stop for a moment!" Seung Hyun demanded, you quickly halted in your spot, slowly turning around to face him "I-I really don't want to talk to you or my mom right now, I'm sorry" You replied softly, feeling bad for saying it, but you just continued on your trail, only stopping whenever your father grabbed your wrist gently "At least get in the car, and get a ride to, I assume, work" Seung Hyun pleaded, he felt terrible for what you were going through, absolutely terrible, but he was also in a whirlwind himself, he was a dad? He had been a dad for the last 17 years? Does that make him a bad one, for not being there?
You'd sit in silence the entire ride, only speaking again whenever Ji-Yong slowly made his way into your recording studio, a place you found yourself being in a lot. "Hey..kiddo" He whispered awkwardly, not really knowing how to start the conversation, you just sighed, turning in your chair to face him. "Seung Hyun told you?" You asked, pulling your knees to your chest as you watched him take a seat on the sofa in front of you. "He told me his feelings. How he feels terrible, that he wasn't there for you, but I don't think it's his fault" Ji-Yong stated, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees as he waited for a response. "I don't..know..How can you just not know you have a whole child?" You asked, you still weren't sure how to process your situation, you just felt hurt and confused at the moment. Ji-Yong nodded at your words, taking a moment before leaning back against the sofa "I know it's hard to hear, but he really had no idea, kiddo. I know my hyung, we've been best friends for..well forever, and I know if he did know about having a daughter, he would've done everything for you." He explained, getting choked up by his own words as he remembered how hurt and upset Seung Hyun looked whenever he busted into their shared dorm. "I just don't understand why my mom hid it from me, and even then..who says he wants to be my dad? I'm almost an adult now, a-and I mean, I'm not exactly the best crayon in the box, so why would he?" You rambled, hugging your knees tighter around you, as you felt tears building in your eyes; You had always imagined how it would be, if you finally met your father, but now you were just scared. What if he didn't want or like you as a daughter? What if all of those interactions between you both were just pity? Or something he had to do for work?
"Y/n. I couldn't tell you why your mother hid that from you, I'm sorry..but I can't, kiddo..What I can tell you, is that you are amazing, you're not even an adult yet and how many times have your songs been on the top five? But I think the rest of this conversation, should be with you and your father, I can only tell you so much about how he truly feels, he can tell you better than I can" He whispered, nodding towards the door, you took a deep breath before standing up "I-Is he mad at me?..for not talking to him?" You whispered, pulling the sleeves of your hoodie over your hands nervously, Ji-Yong just shook his head smiling, noticing how much you reminded him of your father.
You slowly entered the BigBang dorm, and into the bedroom, your eyes quickly meeting your father's as you froze, taking in how utterly broken he looked. His hair was a mess, eyes bloodshot from tears, along with his cheeks being tear-stained. "I-I'm so sorry" He started, you just quietly walked over, hugging him tightly, trying your best to hold back your tears as you felt him sob against your shoulder. "I don't blame you..and I'm not that mad at you..but I know you figured it out the other night" You whispered, trying your best to get him to stop crying, you hated it, you hated anybody crying, your biggest goal in life was trying to make others smile, so crying was the exact opposite of what you wanted. "You didn't have a father" He whispered, hugging you tightly, still in disbelief that he had a daughter, an almost adult daughter at that. "I was a pretty good Oppa to myself" You joked, trying yet again to get him to laugh, only proving slightly successful as he stopped crying, not wanting to pull away from the hug yet. "You shouldn't have had to be a father to yourself, or take care of yourself and your mom, I-I should've been there" He whispered, pulling away from your hug for a moment to have you sit next to him at the end of the bed, wrapping his arm around your shoulders gently as he hugged you again "You hug a lot, you know that right?" You laughed, trying to lean away from him, only for him to pull you right back into a hug "I have to make up for seventeen years of hugs, and 'I'm proud of you'- Oh my god! Am I proud of you? So much! I have one of the biggest Idols as my kid! I'm going to brag about that to everybody!" He rambled, causing you to smile softly, your mom had hated the fact you were an Idol, yes, she loved the benefits that came with being an Idol, but she hated everything else about it, so hearing someone close to you was proud, made you want to cry now.
You both sat for what felt like hours, just talking about everything he had missed in your early years of childhood. Eventually you both ended up at his home, him insisting you ate a real dinner, instead of the same cheap pack of noodles every night. As you sat at the kitchen island, you watched as he started plating the food "Do you know why...Umma hid who you were? Why'd you leave? Was it me?" You whispered, tilting your head slightly, wanting to know exactly what the two of them were arguing about, whenever you had walked into your mom's house. "Your mom had her reasons..they weren't very fair reasons...but she had them, As for leaving, I did, but I didn't at the same time, your mom ended things, telling me it was about my career, turns out, it was because she didn't want to share such an amazing kid with any other parents" He explained, not wanting to bash your mother, especially not to you, while he despised your mother for what she had done, he wasn't going as low as talking badly about her to her daughter. "You don't have to lie..I heard you guys through the door, partially" You protested, watching him drop his head in shame with a sigh "She didn't think I was capable of raising a kid" He whispered, hating that he was even talking about the topic with you, frustrated you just shook your head, smacking your hands down on the table "That's so stupid! I wasn't even born yet! How would she know!?" You shouted, standing up as you started to pace the kitchen floor, running a hand through your hair before Seung Hyun stopped you by grabbing your hoodie sleeve gently, pulling you back over to the counter "I agree, I agree, but it's time to eat, so get to the table" He laughed, motioning you away as he followed behind with two plates, and his glass of wine.
After dinner, you were laid sprawled out on the living room floor, Seung Hyun sitting a few feet away on his couch "Please don't die in my floor" He laughed after a moment, watching as you turned your head to look at him "I will die wherever I please, but I might just sleep here" You huffed, moving to slowly climb onto the couch, the meal Seung Hyun had made was absolutely amazing, one of the bests you've ever had. "I don't care if you sleep here, I've got a sofa, or a guest bed, or you can take my room, and I'll take the guest bed" He offered, pointing to each door as he spoke, you just laughed shaking your head "I'll take the guest room, it's your house, and you're like..an old man" You joked, laughing softly as he gave you an offended look, standing up to make your way to the guest room, feeling like you'd fall asleep any moment, you stopped to look back at Seung Hyun. "If it means anything...I think you would've been an awesome Appa..I think you're already an awesome Appa" You whispered before offering him a soft smile, your dad had to hold back tears as he smiled at you softly "It means the world, I think you're an awesome Ttal-a, Y/n" He replied, his voice cracking as he resting a hand over his eyes for a moment, trying his best to hide his tears. "I know" You giggled before shutting the door behind you, moving to lay down on the most comfortable bed, you had ever touched.
As you fell asleep, you contemplated how you were going to talk to your Umma again after this, or even what you'd say. You didn't let yourself think too hard though, falling asleep rather quickly as you heard your father's muffled voice from the living room, most likely on the phone with someone. As you fell asleep, you noticed something you hadn't ever felt before, when falling asleep, you felt comfortable, with no worries, knowing the only thing you had to deal with tomorrow was work. Your life-long search was finally over, yes it hadn't happened how your younger self always pictured, but you wouldn't change it, and you definitely wouldn't change who your Appa was, because for once in your life, you were happy with the answers you had gotten.

this took a little while, but I knew I wanted to write this scene especially for you and needed a little time to think about how to approach it. so here's a whole bunch of antarct-fic, just for you! this uh. got a little long.
-
It takes some time for Buck to get settled in, find his way around, discover the Skype stations, figure out the difference in timezones between Los Angeles and New Zealand-slash-McMurdo, and find a moment when the Skype stations aren't all occupied that also works for Maddie and Chim – but he gets there.
“-And so Brooke's walking in ahead of me, right? And she freezes -- No, Chim, not literally, haha, very funny – and she marches right up to Bucky, and keep in mind, Brooke is like, 5 foot, max, and Bucky is at least a foot taller – and she demands to know where Larry went. And that's when the rest of us realize, holy shit, Larry is gone. Just. Gone. Not a trace.”
Maddie and Chim are on screen, staring at him like they're expecting a punchline, and Buck realizes he may have skipped over a little bit of necessary context.
“Right, so, Bucky was the only one in the kitchen, because he was just there to get some of the baking prepared and to jump in if any of the people coming off night shift needed anything--”
“Wait, so this kitchen has a Bucky and a Buck?” Chimney asks, balancing a squirmy Jee on his knee. Maddie raises her eyebrows at him, like she had other questions, but--
“Oh! Yeah. Right, so. I'm Evan.”
Maddie squints at him. “We know you are.”
“At the station. Uh. This station. At McMurdo – or Mactown, as Katie calls it, but really, there's so many nicknames –uh. I'm Evan. Here. Because there were already a few Bucks, and, well, a Bucky. One of the Bucks also works in the galley, which is already confusing enough with a Bucky right there, you know? So I'm just. Just Evan, here.” He frowns a little, wondering if any of that made any sense. Or maybe the connection just froze up again?
“Wow,” Maddie says slowly, carefully. “How do you... feel about that?”
He takes a second to think about it. “It's... a little weird. But not in a bad way? It's kind of... nice. Like-- like I'm a new person? I know that's probably dumb--”
“No, Buck, that's not dumb,” Maddie says quickly, and she's smiling, and Chim's expression has softened as well, matching Maddie's. It makes warmth spread in Buck's chest, though it's followed closely by something achy settling in his stomach.
“I miss you,” he confesses.
Maddie's eyes are a little wet. “We miss you too. And Jee misses her uncle Buck. Or- should we say uncle Evan?”
Buck huffs a laugh, and that heaviness dissipates, at least a little bit. “No, no, uncle Buck is-- that's good. I'm still getting used to people I don't know calling me Evan. So.”
“Buck it is,” Maddie smiles, and he can feel her warm affection even across the continents between them.
“Well this is a beautiful little moment,” Chimney says, aiming for teasing but failing miserably due to how his whole face is crinkled into a smile. “But back to the story, uncle Buck," and Jee-yun echoes Uncle Buck!, slightly muffled, from somewhere just out of frame. Her pink-legginged legs kick into view a second later, just barely missing Maddie's face.
Buck takes a minute to enjoy the happy little family wrestling on his screen. That ache is back. He's fairly sure it's homesickness, and isn't it weird that he isn't sure he's ever really felt that before? He's missed the vague concept of home before – usually in the form of Maddie, when she was back in Boston – but never really in this way, where he can point to a place on a map where his people, his family are, and miss them.
Well, most of his people.
One of them is right here where Buck is. If he still wants to be. His people, that is. His person.
He clears his throat. “Right. So. Uh. Where was I?”
“You were talking about someone who went missing?” Maddie prompts.
“Uh. Right! Yes. Larry. So Brooke, obviously, immediately assumed Bucky had something to do with it--”
“Wait, I'm confused,” Maddie interjects straight away. “If Bucky was the only one who was supposed to be in the kitchen, how did Brooke know Larry was missing?”
“Oh, good point, detective,” Chimney says, then winces when Jee lets out a loud squeal right next to his ear. Maddie grimaces in sympathy at the same time Buck does.
“Oh, because Larry is always in the kitchen,” Buck explains.
“Always? How?” Chim asks, looking seriously at the screen while Jee giggles and squirms in his lap, one of Chim's hands clasped over her mouth. He raises his hands in dramatic mock surrender when she starts snapping her teeth at him.
“Didn't I say?” Buck frowns. “Larry's our mascot.”
Maddie sputters. “Larry's not a person?”
“No? One of the overwinters a couple of years ago made him out of the cutlery that got chewed up in the dishwasher, and the galley crew just... keeps adding to him.”
“You're telling me you have some sort of... cutlery homunculus named Larry watching over your kitchen?”
“Well, not anymore," Buck points out. "That's the problem. He's gone.”
There's a silence in which both Maddie and Chimney take a second to process this new information, and then Chim's getting up to fix Jee a snack and get her set up with some coloring sheets, and Maddie tells him about her latest check-up and how everything is still looking good with the pregnancy, and that they're debating if they want to know the gender ahead of time or not. It isn't until a little later, when Chimney comes back into view and Buck is fairly sure he's maxing out his time at the Skype station, that Maddie broaches the subject he'd kind of been hoping he'd gotten away with avoiding.
“So, while learning about your-- uh, Larry? – is fun, what we really want to know is... how did things go with Tommy?” She's smiling kindly, being gentle about it, so very Maddie, but Buck's leg is shaking enough to make the screen move a little and he needs to consciously force his jitters to a halt.
“Uh. It hasn't. Yet?”
“What do you mean?” Chimney asks, offering Maddie a slice of apple with peanut butter. Apparently Jee isn't the only one who got snacks.
“We haven't really talked yet,” Buck admits.
“Okay, so you haven't talked-talked yet. But how did he react?”
Buck shifts in his seat. “React when?”
“How did he react when he saw--” Chimney stops mid-word and mid-chew. “Now wait a second, Buckley. Tommy hasn't seen you yet, has he?”
And fine, maybe Buck bristles a bit. “Well, it's not like--”
Maddie interrupts him, momentarily saving him from having to think up some flimsy defense on the spot. “Hold on, you've been there a week, and... Buck, does Tommy even know you're there?”
Buck dips his head, wonders if he can fake connection issues, but he knows the guilt of cutting their call short would probably eat him alive. “Maybe,” he mumbles instead. “I don't know. Probably not?”
Honestly, Buck thinks, the news that Larry got kidnapped – cutlerynapped? homunculusnapped? – should be way more shocking than the fact that, okay, maybe he has been avoiding Tommy just a little bit. Just until he, you know, figures out what to do, what to say. But Maddie and Chim are gaping at him as if he's just admitted he's decided to move in with the nearest penguin colony and leave his human life behind.
It's almost a relief, then, when a woman taps him on the shoulder and asks him if he's okay to wrap up soon so she can talk to her husband before he has to leave for his night shift. Buck wraps up their call, promising pictures of penguins for Jee as soon as possible, no time to explain that he needs to follow some sort of training before he's allowed off-base, but he can tell them about that next time. Whenever that next time is.
That achy feeling lingers, even after he hangs up.

Thinking about rich!reader
Rich!reader who enjoys nothing more than spoiling Izuku rotten, finding literally every excuse to blow their money on their former classmate.
Rich!reader who spends hundreds on Izuku despite his protests, I.e.; “Y/n! This figure was $400! Are you crazy?” Or “you shouldn’t spend so much on me..I feel bad..” but of course, they never listen to him, insisting that he deserves it for being such an amazing friend.
Rich!reader who gets more pleasure out of spending outrageous amounts of money on the boy they’ve been pining over since their UA days, than anything else the world has to offer.
Rich!reader, who spent ¥140,000 ($908.29) on a formal kimono for Izuku’s 20th birthday. He cried
Rich!reader who is obviously pining, but doesn’t outright say it.
Rich!reader who gets Izuku flowers every Monday, having them delivered to his classroom if they’re not able to hand deliver them themselves.
Rich!reader who keeps their arm around Izuku’s waist any time they attend a fancy hero gathering, always paying for Izuku’s drinks and anything he gets to eat at these extravagant places.
Rich!reader who, when they were in high school with Izuku, took him to one of the biggest hero expos in all of Japan (I’m talking buying plane tickets, expo tickets, hotel rooms, food and merch costs.)
Rich!reader who has no impulse control when Izuku’s birthday rolls around, or any holiday, frankly
Rich!reader who has their personal chef teach them how to make all of Izuku’s favorite meals, then surprises him with the finest ingredients in his favorite foods.
Rich!reader who’s a total sucker for the tears Izuku sheds when he sees the sweet and thoughtful gifts they give him.
Rich!reader who wants nothing more than to see all of Izuku’s needs met, and seeing him happy means more than any currency they could earn.
Rich!reader who ignores the smirks they get when the old class 1A triage goes out for drinks, and they always argue with Izuku on who’s paying his tab, only for R!reader to beat him in the race to get their cards out.
Rich!reader who’s not very good with words, and has no idea how to express their feelings for Izuku than spoiling him rotten, just like he deserves
Rich!reader who finally (with the help of their old classmates) asks Izuku out, to which he is over the moon, throwing his arms around R!reader and clinging to them tightly, saying that he’s been waiting for this for so long.
Rich!reader who buys Inko Midoriya a cute house in the same neighborhood as the house that they share with Izuku, along with buying her a new car. Because if momma Inko isn’t taken care of, how can all of Izukus needs be met?

the smell of pancakes awakes you, filling up your senses. slowly opening your eyes, your remember everything from yesterday. after the stupid fight between joel and miguel, you took miguel back home to patch him up and demanded that he should stay the night. he obeyed like a puppy, no matter how many times he rejected the offer. you also realize this is the first time miguel has been in your home in two months. the last time he was here, miguel walked out and disappeared for three weeks. now, he’s back and making breakfast in your kitchen.
you snap out of thought when a white fluff ball walks towards your face. the sight makes you smile as luna greets you with happy licks and a wagging tail. after saying good morning to your dog, you get up from bed and put on a cardigan over your nightgown to shield you from the chilly morning air. sipping on your fuzzy slippers and scooping luna in your arms, you head to the kitchen and find miguel cooking. his broad back faced to you. that navy blue compression shirt hugs his muscles so perfectly. the way his back muscles ripple as he maneuvers around the kitchen.
goddamn that is a sight you miss so much. to see him again, in the flesh, especially in your home. just a cute domestic scene of the man you still love. you really miss miguel so much it hurts.
but the pain that he inflicted on you hurts still. although you’re happy to see him and have him in here after a long time, that doesn’t erase the heartbreak miguel left behind when he left you alone to deal with a life-changing situation for three weeks. those were the shittiest three weeks of your life. three weeks of crying. three weeks of pain. miguel caused that, the very same man cooking breakfast in your kitchen at this moment. now that he’s here, you have to know where the fuck he was during those three weeks. it’s the question that never left your mind.
as he serves a plate meant for you, miguel turns around not expected to see you there standing at the opposite side of the kitchen island. “oh buenas dias, amor. i was gonna take this to you so you wouldn’t have to get out of bed.” he offers a sheepish grin.
there goes your heart fluttering because of his kindness, against your opposing thoughts. “the smell of pancakes woke me up, i had to get out of bed.”
your joke makes him chuckle lightly. “you still should get back in bed, i’ll bring this to you.”
“no, it’s okay. i need to wash my sheets anyways. now gimme those pancakes, pretty please.” you hop on one of the barstools with much glee.
miguel couldn’t resist the cute smile of yours, a sight that he misses so dearly.
you enjoy your pancakes while miguel cleans up the kitchen. damn, those pancakes are delicious. you forgot how much you miss his cooking. you remember how great of a cook he is but damn do you miss eating the food he made. resurfaced memories of the mornings and evenings miguel would cook, either at your place or his, when you were dating. chitchatting and sometimes goofing around while cooking delicious meals. his food always hit the spot, even simple as pancakes.
moving on to a much more serious topic, you wanted to know of his condition and if anything improved overnight. the memories of those awful bruises still makes your heart squeeze painfully.
“how are you feeling?”
“a bit better but some places still hurts like shit but i’ll be fine. that asshole didn’t do that much damage.” he rubs the back of his neck with a hand.
“still, he hurt you enough.”
miguel notices the concern laced in your tone, his heart swells. “i’ll be okay, mi amor. i promise.” he leans a bit over the island to find your eyes, reassuring you that he will be fine.
your concerned eyes meet his serious yet reassuring eyes. you know he will be fine but you can’t not be still concerned about his health. no matter the circumstances, your heart still beats and aches for him. you simply offer a small smile then continue focusing on your breakfast.
miguel lets you eat in peace as he cleans up the kitchen, washing and putting away dishes. once he finished, he can’t help but silently admire you. your disheveled hair, slightly droopy eyes, and sleepy face. every detail of you is so precious. the gorgeous warm hue of the morning sun makes your figure glow beautifully, as if an angel sits across from him.
you are an angel, his angel.
god he missed you so much. to wake up and see you there in the same place as him. to have you there in general, you gracing him with your angelic presence. miguel misses waking up to find you beside him in bed. the softness of you against his roughness. your warmth smoothing him as he awakens, the only source preventing his nightmares. sharing these cute small moments with you while cooking, eating, cleaning, shopping, walking, just anything.
the longer he admires you in silence, realization creeps up to him. you two agreed to reserve the big conversation today after a good long rest from yesterday’s shitshow. suddenly, anxiety invades his body. miguel is nervous as hell to address the elephant in the room, mainly due to your reaction and fear that his reasons won’t be justifiable. he imprinted a large scar on you that will forever be there, it will never heal, not for a long time.
but this will only be his chance to explain himself. miguel can’t lose that opportunity, not when it can lead to a possible future with you and the baby. however, this cute quiet moment between you two right now does not mean things are back to normal. it does not mean it will be like that after the conversation. it will be your decision whether to forgive him or accept his reasons and determine the outcome. it will be your final word.
you also are nervous as hell. a much needed conversation yet you are afraid to discuss it. mainly because of what will be the outcome and future of your relationship. you desperately need to know his reasons. despite the quiet moment right now, the anger and resentment still lingers, bubbling inside you. the pain he left you remains in your fragile heart. the same heart beating with intense anxiety.
it’s the calm before the storm.
you finish your breakfast, which was absolutely delicious, and about to get up from your seat to out away the now dirty plate until a calloused hand stops you by gently taking the plate from your hands.
“hey, i got it.” you pout.
his heart flutters at that pout. goddamnit you’re so adorable. “i got it, preciosa. you stay there.”
“but i just wanted to—”
“no buts, i’ll do everything.” he cuts you off softly with a smile that makes your heart leap once again.
you know this is his attempt of making things up to you. it’s a small start yet it doesn’t change anything or erase the pain. miguel knows it as well.
“we need uh… we need to talk about… y’know?”
a heavy sigh escapes his lips. “we do… uh… let’s head to the couch to be more comfortable, ¿si?”
you nod, hop off the bar stool, and head to the couch. you sit on one end and miguel on the other, some distance between you two. luna comes up to snuggle with you on your lap. anxiety invades both your bodies. now it’s time to discuss this situation, learn the truth, and find a solution, or not. but nevertheless, you were ready to know the truth.
miguel is the more nervous reck, practically sweating his ass off due the anxiety invading his veins like a virus. this is his one and only opportunity.
“i regret what i did… it was a mistake i’ll regret for the rest of my life because leaving you was the stupidest mistake of my life.” his sad eyes meet yours. “i promised to never hurt you pero… i did the one thing i swore to never do… and i hate myself for it.” he adverts his gaze, feeling undeserving often look at you because of the shame and guilt.
you can only offer a pitiful glance. ever since he returned, you have noticed the self-loathing consuming him whole. the guilty and shameful glint in his eyes every time they meet yours.
“i deserve all of your anger and frustration. i hurt you and saying sorry won’t fix anything, it won’t take away the pain i caused you.” a heavy sigh left his lips as he bring up a hand and rubs the temples of his forehead. “i-i was scared… i was afraid that i—”
your brows furrowed in a mixture of confusion and concern. what was miguel afraid of?
another heavy sigh. “when you said you were pregnant, i panicked… i just… i just couldn’t believe it. i couldn’t believe i would be a father, that i would have a baby… i never considered it before and… i was so… scared.” he lowers his hand but never looks back up to face you, instead down at his lap, too afraid to meet your eyes. “i was scared of becoming a father and having a baby because… i would fail you both…”
your frown deepens. “fail us? miguel, what do you mean?” how could he fail you and the baby? it doesn’t make sense. now you’re more concerned.
he had to reveal the truth.
“gabriel… you know that him and i joined together?”
miguel didn’t need to look at you to see you nod, just from his peripheral. he feels his heart aching, proving how hard it was to talk about his brother because the pain and guilt are still strong. you can see him struggling. the way he’s hunched over as if he’s in pain. eyes screwed shut, brows furrowed deeply, fingers pinching the bridge of his nose, knees bouncing. you just want to scoot over and hug him. you almost do but he then continues.
“one mission… it was more intense than others.” he starts off quietly. “it all went wrong unfortunately, we were outnumbered, things went downhill so fast and…” a sob that was threatening to escape was bitten back down his throat as flashbacks of that mission infiltrates his mind. the closer he was to the memory, the harder it was hold back the tears.
flashback of the bullet striking through gabriel’s shoulder, hitting an artery. miguel’s heart stops as his brother collapses onto the ground while the rest of the team fight off the enemy. panic invades his veins as he rushed to his wounded brother, collecting him in his arms and seeking shelter behind a wall, ignoring the pleads of his squad.
“s-shit…” gabriel groans in pain. “definitely hit the spot.” a weak chuckle escapes his lips.
“you’re okay… you’re okay. you’re gonna be okay, hermano.” its also as if miguel is telling himself that, allowing the panic to consume him.
the younger o'hara shakes his head slighty, a weak smile on his lips that are slowly dripping in red. “i-i don’t think t-this time, pendejo…”
“no, no, no. you’re gonna be okay, gabri. ¿me oyes? you’re gonna be fine.”
but the red ooze dripping from gabriel’s lips and the color draining from his skin said otherwise. he was losing him, he was losing his baby brother.
“d-don’t worry a-about me…” a cough of blood makes miguel’s heart ache immensely. “i-i finally g-got to be who i-i wanted to b-be… e-especially contigo, hermano…”
tears swell in his eyes as miguel watched his brother take one final breath and heart beats one last time. a scream of agony erupts from his throat as he clings onto his brother and break into tears.
“miguel?…”
the angelic tone of your voice snaps him out of that horrific memory and looks to see your hand rested on his arm then up to meet your eyes. his own swelled with tears. miguel didn’t realized how close you are, now sitting right beside him.
seeing those gorgeous brown eyes swelled with tears breaks your heart. he was so lost in thought to the point of panicking. you didn’t hesitate to move over and comfort him, you were so worried. you just wanted to pull him into your arms and hug him. miguel shuts his eyes and turns away from you, concealing the tears and guilt.
“gabriel died in combat.”
your heart drops at the heartbreaking revelation.
gabriel died?… now it all makes sense why he was so hesitant to talk about his brother.
he lost him.
miguel fought hard against the tears but no avail, he allowed the dam to break. you don’t hesitate to wrap your arms around him and pull him into a tight embrace, which he accepts immediately. collapsing into your arms, holding you tightly, gripping onto the material of your cardigan as if he’s afraid to let you go, that you would slip out of his arms just like gabriel, as he sobs into your shoulder.
each sob of his breaks a piece of your heart, to the point of your own eyes swelling into tears. it hurts you to hear him break down but you are there to catch him. you embrace his sobbing, shaking figure tightly. digging your fingers into his hair, his grip on your tightens as a response. you don’t ever let go.
“lo siento mucho, miguel…” your soft voice whispers in his ear, making him embrace you tighter.
you feel utterly heartbroken for him. he lost his baby brother in combat, that is traumatic. by what miguel has told you, he and gabriel had a great sibling relationship. he was always by gabriel side for everything. miguel deeply cared about his baby brother. the one person who understood him.
eventually, miguel’s sobs die down and manages to catch his breath after releasing an infinite amount of tears. that left a large wet stain on your cardigan but you don’t care, miguel was all that mattered.
very slowly, his head rises from your now soaked shoulder and leans back to give you some space but still remains close. you look at him but his glossy eyes don’t meet yours. with such tenderness, you wipe his tears with your thumb as you cradle his face. miguel still doesn’t look back but gently rests his forehead against yours and closes his eyes. you simply sit there in silence, basking one another’s presence as miguel takes time to calm down.
after a few minutes of silence, you decide to break it by whispering to him. “you okay?…”
miguel nods slowly and exhales heavily, leaning into your touch as you continue caressing his face. he had to catch his breath to calm down but really you were what calmed him down. utterly melting under your touch, the softness and warmth of your body relaxes him immediately. you are his anchor.
“i was sacred…” barely a whisper yet laced with such remorse and regret. “i was scared of losing you and the baby like i lost gabriel.”
you look up at him with furrowed brows of concern but he still hasn’t meet your eyes.
“losing us? you won’t lose us, amor.” you reassure him in a gentle manner, caressing his cheeks as a way to make him look at you but no avail.
miguel leans away and finally looks back, frowning however. “i failed gabriel, what if i fail you? i failed to protect him, what if i fail to protect you both?”
you shake your head frantically. “you won’t, miguel. what happened to gabriel wasn’t your fault—”
“yes it was.” he cuts you off, turning away but you stop him by gently gripping his chin to look back.
“no, it was not.” a bit firm but still soft. “i know you blame yourself but it wasn’t your fault. just know that gabriel was happy to be with his brother, he wouldn’t want to be anywhere or anyone else but you.”
those glossy brown eyes soften a little by your words. perhaps you’re right, gabriel was at least safe in his arms during his last moments. at least miguel was there with him. it would have been worse if it was any other scenario and miguel didn’t want to think that.
“miguel, escúchame…” those same soft brown eyes look up at you as you cradle his face. “i know you’re afraid and now i understand why… but i promise you won’t lose us, you won’t fail us. we won’t go anywhere, we’ll always be here, with you.”
miguel swears he could cry once again. all he can do is just stare at you with nothing but adoration in his eyes. heart sudden refilled with love that you always provide. those ugly doubts and fears slowly fade away by your words of comfort and reassurance. he rests his hands on top of yours, gives them a gentle squeeze then brings them up to his lips and places a soft kiss to them as a sign of affection and gratitude. the act emits a soft smile on your face.
“i know we just had a heartbreaking conversation but… i still need to know what happened those three weeks.” you look at him hesitantly.
miguel knows you’re right. he admitted his fears and reasons but still hasn’t fully explained himself, especially during those shitty three weeks.
“i know…” his hands release yours as he leans away, turning away to run a hand through his hair with a heavy sigh. “i… i have this hidden cabin off the outskirts of town, that’s where i stayed during those weeks. i didn’t do anything. i barely ate or slept, always had nightmares every time.”
your brows furrowed concerningly. “nightmares?”
another heavy sigh escapes his lips. “of you and the baby… me dying in combat and leaving you alone with the baby… failing you both…”
another revelation that shatters your heart. his trauma has worsened to the extent of having nightmares of dying and losing his family.
this poor, poor man.
“my phone was completely off, i never received any calls or texts. when i did turned it back on, i saw your text about your doctors appointment and i cried…”
your eyes widen slightly in surprise. he… cried?
“you went alone… i wasn’t there for you… i hatred myself for that, i still do.”
the unpleasant memory of your first appointment flashed across your mind. how utterly heartbroken and abounded you felt sitting in the waiting area full of couples. how anxious you felt when you entered the examination room, learning about your pregnancy, and seeing your baby for the first time. how angry you felt when you mentioned to your OB that miguel wasn’t in the picture.
one last sigh from his lips before miguel turns to you with pleading eyes. “mi alma, i know what i did is unforgivable and i’ll forever regret it for the rest of my fucking life. no amount of sorrys could ever take away the pain i caused you. i hurt you and i will never forgive myself. you have every reason to hate me, i deserve it all.” very slowly, his hand gently takes yours. “but know that i love you, i never stopped loving you and never will. eres mi mundo, mi corazón, mi alma gemela, todo.”
it was impossible to not feel bashful by all the adorable endearments. every nickname miguel gave you, it never fails to make your heart flutter.
“i know i can’t go back change the past, i know i can’t take away your pain from those three weeks but i promise you that i want to be part of this.” miguel said sincerely, eyes boring into yours. “i want to have this baby with you, i want to be a father, i want to be a family and raise this baby contigo.”
sudden a rush of adoration flows through you, almost overwhelming but… in a good way? his behavior since last night proved how different he was, he’s still the same kind man you fell in love with and how he wasn’t against having the baby. the way his eyes widen then soften and smiled when he touched your baby bump for the first time proved to you that miguel already loved the baby. you want nothing more than for him to be a part of this family and have this baby together. but that doesn’t mean the consequences of his actions are ignored.
“i… i’m so happy to hear that, miguel, and i want nothing more than to do this together but…” your tone turns more serious. “i can’t forgive you, not yet.”
miguel expected that and he did not blame you one bit because he doesn’t deserve your forgiveness.
“you hurt me, miguel. i know it was bomb dropping news, it was a shitshow, i take part for being irresponsible about the pill, and that it triggered your fears but you hurt me real fucking bad.”
he did and miguel will never forgive himself.
“those were the shittiest three weeks of my life. you weren’t there when i needed you the most.”
he can hear the hurt in your voice and it pains his heart. he has caused so much damage.
“now that you’re here, i’m gonna tell you this.”
miguel’s attention is precise and solely on you, prepared for what you will say.
you look up straight in his eyes with pure sincerity. “if you want to be a part of this, you have to work for it. show me that you want this.”
miguel understands completely. prove his commitment to this family, to you and the baby. and goddamn he will, miguel will do everything he can to prove to you that he wants this.
“i will, i promise, mi amor.” his hands give yours a gentle squeeze, signifying his words.
you believe him.
this is the beginning of rebuilding your relationship. it will require lots of progress but you have faith miguel will prove himself and the love will soon be restored.
it’s a good starting point.
