I was reading some of Allan McLane's work, for those that don't know, he was a grandson of Alexander Hamilton, being the second son of Philip Hamilton II and Rebecca McLane. I noticed something intriguing about one of his books. In the second volume of A System of legal medicine, by McLane and Lawrence Godkin published in 1894, there is an article titled; ‘Sexual Crimes’. The section is written by one of the many collaborates, Charles Gilbert Chaddock. Chaddock was a Professor of Diseases of the Nervous System, and neurologist to Rebekah Hospital. An additional fun fact, the first known use of the term homosexual was in Chaddock's 1892 translation of Richard von Krafft-Ebing's Psychopathia Sexualis, a study of sexual practices.
Chaddock discusses a lot of sexual topics but one is “sexual inversion”, which was a theory of homosexuality popular primarily in the late 19th and early 20th century. Sexual inversion was believed to be an inborn reversal of gender traits: male inverts were, to a greater or lesser degree, inclined to traditionally female pursuits and dress and vice versa.
The most common sexological theory of same-sex desire was that it was the result of physical, emotional, or psychological “inversion.” In other words, the gender of persons who desired their own sex was somehow reversed. When a man desired a man, it was actually a woman—presumably existing within the man's body—who was desiring a man. When a woman desired a woman, it was actually a male essence within the woman's body who felt that desire. This metaphysical explanation, accepted as scientific (at this point of the emergence of psychology as a science), had a substantial effect on the public imagination for the next fifty years. It became how many people understood the phenomenon of same-sex desire. Theories of Inversing were published widely, and sexologists were understood by the average person to be the experts on a “new science.” The idea of the “invert,” or “third sex,” also quickly and profoundly informed two popular and lasting stereotypes: the mannish lesbian and the effeminate homosexual man. (Although there were preexisting stereotypes of the effeminate male, sexological taxonomy invented him as a homosexual man.)
Source — A Queer History of the United States, by Michael Bronski · 2011
Chaddock wrote that;
Since in any case sexual inversion is but a phenomenon arising from a neuropsychopathic condition, as previously indicated, it is seldom an isolated manifestation, but is most frequently observed in combination with other sexual perversions. In accordance with this, the medico-legal questions arising in sexual inversion may be identical with those raised in the sexual perversions previously considered. The further possibilities of a criminal character are related to the crimes of pederasty. The individual affected with contrary sexuality satisfies himself with men by means of passive or mutual onanism, or by coitus-like acts (coitus inter femora); if active pederasty is performed, it is only as a result of intense sexual desire, or out of wish to please another. Passive pederasty may be performed by contrary sexual individuals to please the active party, or out of lust where they feel themselves entirely in the feminine role. To distinguish such cases from pederasty not dependent upon a pathological condition, it is but necessary to exclude the existence of psychosexual inversion, and to remember that where this crime is performed apart from perversion it is as a means of sexual indulgence in the absence of opportunity for natural satisfaction, and as a new means. of sexual gratification where natural methods of sexual pleasure have been exhausted by excess. Non-pathological passive pederasty is practiced only for gain.

Understanding Frozen Sections and Their Importance in Pathology
In the rapidly evolving field of pathology, frozen sections have become a vital tool in surgical diagnostics. This procedure allows pathologists to obtain rapid diagnoses during surgery, significantly enhancing patient outcomes and surgical precision. As digital pathology advances, the role of frozen section pathology is becoming increasingly significant.
What Are Frozen Sections?
Frozen sections, also known as cryosections, involve the immediate processing of tissue samples taken during surgery. When a surgeon encounters an unknown mass, they perform a biopsy and send the tissue to a pathologist for analysis. The pathologist uses a frozen section slide scanner to flash freeze the sample, typically at temperatures between -15⁰C to -25⁰C. Once frozen, the tissue is sliced into thin sections using a microtome, allowing for detailed examination under a microscope.
The pathologist then stains the tissue sections with specific dyes to enhance visibility, facilitating accurate identification of cellular structures. This rapid diagnostic capability enables surgeons to make informed decisions in real-time, such as whether to remove additional tissue if cancerous cells are detected.
The Role of Digital Telepathology
Advancements in digital pathology, particularly in telepathology, have further enhanced the utility of frozen sections. With the integration of Whole Slide Imaging (WSI) technology, pathologists can digitize entire slides for high-resolution analysis. This technology allows for efficient storage, sharing, and collaborative evaluation of tissue samples.
Pathology scanner providers now offer sophisticated telepathology solutions that streamline the frozen section process. These devices allow pathologists to scan and analyze slides more efficiently, improving accuracy and reducing the likelihood of human error. Features such as live viewing and enhanced imaging capabilities enable pathologists to collaborate remotely, facilitating timely consultations and second opinions.
The Importance of Frozen Sections
Frozen sections yield highly accurate results, although they are typically considered preliminary. Permanent sections, which undergo a more extensive processing protocol, are still essential for definitive diagnosis. However, frozen sections are invaluable during surgery because they provide immediate feedback, enabling surgeons to address any issues on the spot.
Benefits of Frozen Sections
Immediate Diagnosis: The primary advantage of frozen sections is the speed with which results can be obtained. This allows surgeons to make critical decisions during the operation, reducing the need for additional procedures.
Reduced Complications: By identifying cancerous or infectious tissue in real-time, surgeons can excise all affected areas in one operation, minimizing the risk of complications and the need for subsequent surgeries.
Enhanced Visualization: The ability to digitize and analyze frozen sections provides pathologists with superior visualization options. They can zoom in on specific areas of interest, compare samples against a database, and collaborate with colleagues globally for improved diagnostic accuracy.
Educational Opportunities: As the database of frozen section samples grows, it becomes a rich resource for training and education. Pathologists can use these samples to enhance their understanding of various diseases, improving their diagnostic skills and preparation for complex cases.
Support for Research: The data gathered from frozen sections can contribute to broader scientific studies, advancing research in pathology and related fields. This not only enhances our understanding of diseases but also informs future treatment protocols.
Conclusion
Frozen sections are a cornerstone of modern pathology, providing rapid and reliable diagnostic support during surgical procedures. As the field of digital pathology continues to grow, the integration of advanced technologies like WSI and telepathology will only enhance the efficacy and accuracy of frozen section pathology. By enabling timely decision-making, reducing complications, and supporting education and research, frozen sections play an essential role in improving patient care and outcomes. As we face new medical challenges, the importance of this procedure will only increase, reaffirming its status as a critical component of surgical pathology. To Boost Memory and Brainpower, Ignore Brain Supplements And Harness Brain Plasticity The Right Way
Traditional scientific ideas cast the human brain as a fixed and essentially limited system that only degrades with age. By contrast, we have now come to appreciate that the human brain is actually a highly dynamic and constantly reorganizing system, capable of being shaped and reshaped across the entire lifespan. The click here to learn more central concept in this new approach is brain plasticity, the brain's lifelong capacity to change and rewire itself in response to the stimulation of learning and experience. This includes both the lifelong ability to create new neurons - neurogenesis - and to create new connections between neurons - synaptogenesis.
In a young brain, brain plasticity allows for fast learning, as well as for potentially faster repair. As we age, the rate of brain plasticity declines, but does not come to a halt.
Lifelong neuroplasticity has major consequences. It means that our lifestyles and actions play a meaningful role in how our brains physically change throughout life. More specifically, neuroplasticity gives us the power to resist the effects of decline or disease by supporting our ability to accumulate knowledge and experiences, i.e., to learn. Learning helps to increase the so-called brain reserve and strengthen the brain against age-related decline and potential dementia pathology by increasing the connections between neurons, increasing cellular metabolism, and increasing the production of nerve growth factor, a substance produced by the body to help maintain and repair neurons.
Furthermore, neuroplasticity not only enables us to prevent future cognitive decline but also provides a basis for a more optimistic outlook when it comes to our ability to address existing deficits, such as learning difficulties and recovery after traumatic brain injury or stroke. By practicing a skill, one can repeatedly stimulate the same area of the brain, which strengthens existing neural connections and creates new ones. Over time, the brain can become more efficient, requiring less effort to do the same job.
A key contributor to our growing understanding of large-scale neuroplasticity was the development of high-level brain imaging technologies. By allowing scientists to produce images of the brain that show its structure, as well as where activity spikes as it is engages in various cognitive activities, these neuroimaging methods have revolutionized neuroscience in the same way that the telescope revolutionized astronomy.
Evidence of brain plasticity gleaned from brain imaging has come mostly from the brains of individuals who became experts in a particular skill. Why? Because, as you might have guessed, changes associated with learning occur massively when we become expert in a specific function or domain.
For example, several fascinating studies shows that London taxi drivers have a larger hippocampus than London bus drivers. This is explained by the fact that the hippocampus is important for forming and accessing complex memories, including the spatial memories necessary for efficient navigation. Taxi drivers have to navigate around London whereas bus drivers follow a limited set of routes. Thus, the hippocampus of a taxi driver is particularly stimulated and changes over time as a result.
Plasticity can also be observed in the brains of bilinguals. It looks like learning a second language is directly associated with structural changes in the brain: a region called the left inferior parietal cortex is larger in bilingual brains than in monolingual brains. Plastic changes have also been found to occur in musicians' brains (compared to non-musicians), with areas involved in playing music (motor regions, anterior superior parietal areas, and inferior temporal areas) showing increased volume.

Welfare In Dairy Cows - Evaluation Indicators
Abstract
Sustainability, animal welfare, environmental and climate concerns and awareness of social responsibility towards the community have increased consumers interest in knowing how, where and by whom food is produced and handled on its way from the farm to the table. This constitutes a business opportunity for farmers as a growing number of consumers want to buy food, produced locally or regionally directly or under farm certification schemes whereby acceptable animal welfare conditions play often an important role. Farming systems for dairy cows, including housing and management conditions, are important factors affecting their health and other aspects of their welfare, partly through housing and equipment and partly through management and handling practices.
Importance of European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)
The panel on Animal Health and Animal Welfare (AHAW) is a scientific advice on all aspects of animal diseases and welfare of food producing-animals during breeding, rearing, transportation and slaughter. Analysis of the impact that the conditions and treatment of animals can have on both animal and human health. Animal welfare is an important part of EFSA’s remit. The safety of the food chain is indirectly affected by the welfare of animals, particularly those farmed for food production, due to the close links between animal welfare, animal health and food-borne diseases [1,2].
The AHAW Panel has published five scientific opinions and a scientific report on the overall effects of the most relevant farming systems on the welfare of dairy cows and related diseases, assessing the potential impacts of housing, feeding, management and genetic selection [3]. Due to the wealth of data, the experts subdivided the risk assessments into four areas: a. Metabolic and reproductive disorders. b. Udder disorders. c. Leg and locomotion problems. d. Behavioural disorders, fear and pain. Following a request from the European Commission, the AHAW Panel was asked to deliver the first scientific opinion on the welfare of dairy cows, in july 2009 considering whether current farming and husbandry systems comply with the requirements of and welfare of dairy cows from the pathological, zootechnical, physiological and behavioural points of view [4-6]. Later in January 2012 published a new scientific report on welfare in dairy cows, which was one of the most important to increase the monitoring of welfare in the farms: the use of animal-based measures to assess welfare of dairy cows. Other international organisations have also issued recommendations and guidelines concerning animal welfare, such as the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and the Council of Europe. The EU is a signatory to the European Convention for the protection of animals kept for farming purposes, adopted by the Council of Europe [7].
Indicators of Welfare in Dairy Cows
The study of useful variables for evaluating animal welfare in dairy herds has increased considerably in the last years, and a number of indicators are now available which are well documented for being included in animal welfare protocols. However, the protocols that have been proposed and applied until now are costly and difficult to implement, and are starting to be evaluated. There is consensus in the reliability of measurements based directly on the animal as useful indicators, such as body condition, foot diseases, mastitis and other more general indicators, such as infertility and mortality rates obtained from records of dairy farms that can be studied under our production conditions [8].
In order to identify appropriate indicators which address the most important animal welfare problems known from practice, its very important have selected indicators for assessing animal welfare with regard to reliability, validity and practicability. In animal welfare legislation as well as agricultural practice, mainly resource- and management-based animal welfare indicators have been used so far. These describe the conditions, e. g. the space available and the management, which are expected to safeguard animal welfare. However, such resource- and managementbased indicators only allow indirect conclusions to be drawn on how well the animals may fare under these conditions. With the animal-based indicators required in the self-assessment system, on the other hand, the behaviour/health of the animals is recorded directly, so that direct conclusions about their welfare can be drawn. EFSA assessed the welfare risks related to the most commonly used and specialised dairy cows farming systems, integrating the use of animal-based measures to assess their consequences (Table 1).
The livestock keeper should benefit from the on-farm selfassessment. To be able to use the results effectively for planning and implementing improvement measures, the single indicators should not just be assessed, but instead be integrated into more comprehensive management aids. The sets of indicators should therefore also be applied as a whole as far as possible, as with each missing indicator, the informative content is reduced and at the same time the risk increases that animal welfare problems are not recognised. The use of behavioral indicators, health and management in the evaluation of welfare in cows milk is a very valuable tool, considering the difficulty of using physiological and immunological indicators, or drawbacks, such as costs.

BRAIN WOUND UPDATE #4: HBOT for Long-Haul COVID
BRINGING YOU CURRENT INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO HELP TREAT AND HEAL BRAIN WOUNDS: CONCUSSIONS, TBI, PTSD and Long-Haul COVID This report brings you information about the use of HBOT to help with symptoms due to Long Haul COVID. Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) can be used to get a drug into use. It was used for COVID vaccines, and is contemplated for immediate use of a drug to deal with Alzheimers. Using HBOT to fight long-haul COVID and the heal brain wounds from TBI/PTSD/Concussion could be done safely, effectively, and immediately. Rules are here. "Most COVID-19 sufferers fully recover, but after the initial illness approximately 10–20% of patients develop long COVID, also called post-COVID condition or syndrome. Symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue, cough, chest pain, rapid or irregular heartbeats, body aches, rashes, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, insomnia, brain fog, depression and anxiety. Patients with post-COVID syndrome may also develop cardiac dysfunction and are at increased risk of a range of cardiovascular disorders." ********************* Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy forPost-COVID Syndrome The term “Post-COVID Conditions” is an umbrella term for the wide range of physical and mental health consequences experienced by some patients that are present four or more weeks after SARS-CoV-2 infection, including by patients who had initial mild or asymptomatic acute infection, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Now new research is supporting hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has having promising potential to improve the symptoms of long COVID due to its proven anti-inflammatory effects. Scientist say HBOT has been shown to decrease inflammation by suppressing pro-inflammatory and increasing antioxidant gene expression. Dr Janell Royster, LMHC, LPC interim program manager of the Undersea Oxygen Clinic joined Gayle Guyardo the host of the global health and wellness show Bloom with how the treatment not only helps patients with long term covid symptoms but many other ailments as well. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy improves neurocognitive functions and symptoms of post-COVID condition: randomized controlled trial Post-COVID-19 condition refers to a range of persisting physical, neurocognitive, and neuropsychological symptoms after SARS-CoV-2 infection. The mechanism can be related to brain tissue pathology caused by virus invasion or indirectly by neuroinflammation and hypercoagulability. This randomized, sham-control, double blind trial evaluated the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT or HBO2 therapy) on post-COVID-19 patients with ongoing symptoms for at least 3 months after confirmed infection. These results indicate that HBOT can induce neuroplasticity and improve cognitive, psychiatric, fatigue, sleep and pain symptoms of patients suffering from post-COVID-19 condition. HBOT’s beneficial effect may be attributed to increased brain perfusion and neuroplasticity in regions associated with cognitive and emotional roles. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be beneficial in patients with post-COVID syndrome A randomized trial using 60 patients with post-COVID syndrome has found that hyperbaric oxygen therapy promotes restoration of the heart's ability to contract properly. The research is presented at EACVI 2023, a scientific congress of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). The study suggests that hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be beneficial in patients with long COVID. A sensitive measure of cardiac function which is not routinely performed in all centers was performed. More studies are needed to determine which patients will benefit the most, but it may be that all long COVID patients should have an assessment of global longitudinal strain and be offered hyperbaric oxygen therapy if heart function is reduced. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for the treatment of long COVID: early evaluation of a highly promising intervention Based on initial informal feedback, the 10 patients studied showed positive results in the longer term. Thus, there is a need to assess these effects of HBOT in the context of a randomised placebo-controlled prospective study. However, these initial results suggest that HBOT merits further study as a treatment option for patients presenting with long COVID symptoms (such as fatigue). Given the scale of the emerging long COVID public health emergency globally (estimated 23 million in the US). . . . there is an urgent need for larger-scale randomised placebo-controlled trials to evaluate the potential impact of HBOT in the context of long COVID. In addition, creation of a registry of patients receiving HBOT for long COVID symptoms (such as fatigue) in order to obtain follow-up data over time is also suggested. Can Diabetes Mellitus Type-1 be A Transmissible Disease? Revisit to an Earlier Premise
Authored by Khaled K Al-Qattan
Commentary
To some diabetalogists/diabeticians, and certainly the majority of the general public, the title of this commentary might come a bit as a surprise. What is known about diabetes mellitus (DM), as a medical condition, that it is a group of linked biochemical-physiological disorders initiated by pathological rise in the circulating blood glucose concentration. This hyperglycemia develops mostly as a consequence to either hypoinsulinemia (DM type-1) or cellular insensitivity to insulin (DM type-2). In extreme cases both causative factors transpire and therefore act together on the body leading to the induction and progression of an aggressive form of the disease. For the time being, DM is unequivocally regarded as an inherent condition since its causes’ are innate to the affected person and provoked primarily by life-style and genetics. Although this self-origin manifestation of the condition is certainly true as evident in the multitude of scientific studies and reports, nonetheless other unorthodox cofounders may exist and yet to be revealed and ascertained.
One such further and elusive causative factor of DM could be its possible transmissibility from a diabetic patient to a biochemically-physiologically-genetically susceptible non-diabetic individual. In an article titled “Is Diabetes of Infectious Origin?” published as early as 1927 in The Journal of Infectious Diseases, Eduard Gunderson proposed that DM may be transmissible via blood transfer and/or anomalous contents in consumed meat. For a moment, this assumption might be thought of as a tad farfetched as no scientific evidence exists to support what could be regarded as a bold claim. Nevertheless, in a fairly recent study led by Claudio Soto and published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine it was reported that DM type-2 might be caused by the formation of toxic aggregates of misfolding of islet amyloid polypeptide protein which could result from transmissible proteins.
This commentary proposes that it is highly probable that DM type-1 might also be a transmissible disease, however via bacterial agents. This assumption is supported by an ample and compelling, although be it circumstantial, evidence provided by the findings and observations of considerable and recent related studies. Interest in the transformation of the body, and in particular the gut, microbiota as a cause to the development of numerous human diseases began to attract growing attention and formed the bases for many scientific studies. Examples of such diseases include metabolic, liver, gastrointestinal, respiratory, mental and autoimmune abnormalities, in addition to DM. As far as DM is concerned, human diabetics were shown to possess transformed gut microbiota and, vice versa, chemical induction of DM type-1 distorted the microbiota of rats’ gastrointestinal system. The question, among many, that presents itself at this juncture: Can such a transformation in the microbiota of the body, and in particular that of the gut, becomes an intermediary in the transmissibility of DM type-1? To answer this question, first it must be stated that such a hypothesis is sound as it is established that microbial agents are the foremost propagators of infectious diseases. Additionally, and as concluded from the observations of recent studies, if infection and gut microbiota transformation do occur, then it is highly probable that an aggressive attack on the intestinal apical wall will develop leading to epithelial lesions, inflammations and consequently drastic autoimmune responses. Formed erratic antibodies may translocate and even attack neighboring cells and those could be the insulin producing beta-cells due to the close proximity of the pancreas to the most susceptible part of the intestine; the duodenum.
With the lack of direct scientific evidence, is the assumption that DM type-1 be an infectious disease lacks ground? The answer is simply YES. Nonetheless, if bodily material contaminated with pathogens were to transfer between a diabetic and non-diabetic, and the latter subject was prone to such infections, due for example to compromised immune responses, such a possibility may materialize. This aforementioned suggestion is based on the scientific fact that pathogens, and certainly those that dwell in the gut of patients, can make a healthy individual become sick. Thus, the premise that non-classical live biological agents that exist in the gut of a diabetic might be an additional factor that leads to the development of DM type-1 in the most vulnerable of individuals is highly plausible under the ‘right’ circumstances. In an attempt to address such an interesting objective we carried out a small and limited pilot study in which we co-habituated healthy and streptozotocin-induced diabetic Sprague-Dawley rats for more than 16 weeks and on biweekly bases monitored their blood glucose. No change was observed in the blood glucose of the normal rats although the streptozotocininjected rats showed progressively the classical symptoms of diabetes. Although this study yielded negative data, still the high rate at which DM type-1 is spreading world-wide, which almost exceeds the international curve for any other epidemic, warrants consideration of every possible etiology of this disease. Accordingly, more focused studies testing versatile combinations of external and internal variables are recommended to test this proposed hypothesis.

The responses being measured are minute modifications within the electrical resistance of the pores and skin. A report is generated by Qest4 of any responses which are outside specified limits. Extremely low electro-magnetic alerts are output by the Qest4 hardware utilizing a simple and safe low-voltage circuit fashioned by holding the two brass cylinders, and the response of the physique to those signals is recorded.
Researchers within the first part of the last century, specifically Dr. Abrams of Stanford University, began to experiment with the radial power given off by living persons. The inflammation that produces the pain we really feel isn't the illness , but the outcomes of the disease. Our bioresonance scan is capable of measuring the effectiveness of remedies corresponding to food dietary supplements, homeopathic remedies, and so on. By means of this perform, it could find essentially the most efficient remedy for the shopper. The scanner can establish which therapeutic treatments work greatest and which burdens are present. The vitality of the substance is actually imprinted into water in a very particular way.
This resulted, for instance, in a type of allergy therapy which was practiced as “allergy obliteration”. This rotation of the knowledge on an allergy or a body’s own oscillation is recognized as inversion (Herrmanna and Galleb 2011; Chen et al. 2010). Researchers have been in a position to study the distinct wave patterns of normally-functioning body methods and organs in addition to the oscillations of allergens, viruses, micro organism bioresonance therapy service, and toxins. All SafeSpace merchandise are designed to supply a particular kind of protection. Because they are based on the same principles of refined energy and harmonic resonance, the merchandise by no means battle or cancel each other out, and they can be used collectively for added protection.
Genetic checks will determine whether or not or not you have a specific types of the HLA . About 25% of the inhabitants has specific HLA genes known to set off CIRS. A wholesome cell radiates coherent light, whereas a diseased cell radiates chaotic gentle. Just as an EMF can influence the bodily human body bioresonance allergy test, sure subtle energies can affect sure EMFs. Specifically, a delicate vitality that is coherent and “senior” to a selected EMF can affect it. The well being of the entire body can be determined by analyzing the length of time between every heartbeat.
