Prove me wrong
When you tease Spencer about his inability to be dominant in bed, he decides to prove you wrong by taking matters into his own hands.
Warnings: (18+, MDNI) afab reader, established relationship, dom spence but he’s still gentle, spanking, fingering, edging/orgasm control ~3.6k words A/n: Every time I write him as a dom I always make sure to write a backstory, like I can’t imagine him being hard on you out of nowhere. Do you get what I’m saying? Anyway this is the spanking fic I was talking about the other day. lmk what you think!!
The giggle left your lips before you could stop yourself. You really shouldn’t be laughing, especially when you were straddling his lap in the midst of a hot, passionate make-out session. But you couldn’t help it, it was as if you had no control over your amusement. Spencer, however, did not find the humor in the words that had slipped out of your mouth.
“What? You don’t think I can do it?”
It wasn’t fair. You knew that. What had started as a casual conversation—with stolen kisses here and there—quickly escalated into a playful banter about who was more in charge in the relationship. You had been teasing him, confidently asserting that you were the one wearing the pants in the relationship because you couldn’t imagine him being in control.
The conversation naturally shifted to a more personal challenge, touching on the topic of dominance, a subject neither of you had seriously discussed before. You had laughed then, not out of mockery, but because the idea seemed so out of character for him.
“I just think you’re more comfortable with control in other areas,” you said, trying to stifle your giggle. “But in bed? I can’t picture it.”
He raised an eyebrow, “And what areas do you think I’m more comfortable with?”
“Well, teaching for one,” you replied, leaning closer. “I’ve sat in one of your seminars. You’re always so confident standing in front of a classroom.”
“So you think I’m good at teaching?” he replied, his voice dripping with mock seriousness. “But not at… other things?”
“Exactly,” you said, nodding. “I mean, you dominate the classroom with your knowledge. But that’s different from... you know, being dominant in bed.”
“Mhm.” His hands trailed up your legs before they settled on your waist. “Maybe those skills are more transferable than you think.”
You rolled your eyes playfully. “You can’t possibly compare giving a lecture in front of your students to... this.”
“Why not? Both require confidence, understanding your audience, and knowing how to lead.”
“Nice try, but I’m still not convinced,” you teased. “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
You leaned in to kiss him again, your lips barely brushing his, but he backed away, leaving you hanging. His eyes were serious, not amused by your skepticism. You laughed. It was clear he wasn’t satisfied with your perception of him.
“Baby, it’s okay. I don’t mind if this isn’t your strong suit.”
“Well I do.”
You tilted your head, giving him a curious look. “Since when do you care about my opinion?”
“Since you’re my girlfriend,” he replied. “And I can’t let you think less of me.”
“I never think any less of you.”
“But you’re doubting me, aren’t you?”
“Maybe a little,” you admitted, a teasing smile playing on your lips. “Oh, come on, stop making that face.”
Spencer's response was swift. His hands moved to gently cup your face, drawing your attention fully to him. “Tell me why you think I can’t be dominant in bed.”
You paused, thinking for a moment. “Well, you have this… air about you. It's hard to imagine you letting go.”
"Maybe I don't need to let go. Maybe I just need to take control in a different way," he said, his thumb gently brushing your cheek. “Maybe I can teach you a thing or two."
"You? Teach me?" You raised an eyebrow, mock disbelief coloring your tone. "This I have to see."
“I think you should be careful what you wish for,” He said under his breath, his lips now just a whisper away from yours.
“Oh, I’m not worried,” you shot back, smiling against his lips. “I just don’t think you have it in you.”
Without another word, he closed the distance between you.
His lips moved against yours softly yet deeply, carrying the usual sweetness you'd grown accustomed to, but there was a subtle edge this time. It wasn’t too harsh, but just enough to catch you off guard and make you part your lips. He took the invitation, his tongue tracing a deliberate path inside your mouth as his hand trailed up to hold the back of your neck.
Hot. You felt hot everywhere. Certain spots on your body felt as if they were on fire, the burn traveling through your veins before pooling between your thighs. You couldn’t believe a simple kiss could make you feel this way. The heat was intense, making you ache with a need that you instinctively started to move your hips, seeking more. But then he pulled away, breaking the kiss.
“No,” he said firmly. “You’re not allowed to move.”
You frowned at him. “Why not?”
"Because..." His fingers traced a path to the hem of his shirt that you wore, the one you claimed as your own. He slowly began to lift it, his fingers brushing lightly against your skin. “You need to earn it.”
You understood immediately what he was attempting. He wanted to make you wait. He wanted you desperate. You realized it was some kind of power play, and this was his way to dominate you, to keep you on the edge. Each careful, controlled movement was a clear message to you. He was in charge, and you were left craving whatever he chose to give.
"Yeah?" You whispered, noticing the way your voice trembled with anticipation. "And how do I do that?"
He lifted the shirt higher, his hands sliding up your sides, the cool air hitting your exposed skin. “By letting me lead,” he said. “Maybe I'll give you what you want then.”
The fabric slipped over your head, and you sat there, perched on his lap, momentarily vulnerable under his intense gaze. The room seemed to hold its breath, the tension palpable as you felt his hands rest lightly on your bare shoulders, his fingers tracing small circles before they trailed lower, stopping just above your breasts.
“Will you do that? Will you do what I say?”
You swallowed hard. This was new. You never thought you’d see him asking your permission to be in control, yet here he was, doing the exact thing you were skeptical about. And to your surprise, you liked this side of him.
“Will you?” He urged.
You felt your breathing grow heavy as his hands moved lower. “…yes.”
His thumbs brushed over your nipples. “I can’t hear you.”
You felt the sensation hit right through you, and it took a lot of self-control for you not to arch into his touch, to keep your voice steady as you repeated louder, “Yes.”
A satisfied smile played at the corners of his lips. “Good,” he whispered, leaning in to press an open kiss on your neck. “I think I can get used to this.”
You tilted your head, exposing your neck to him. He wasted no time, licking and sucking on your pulse point, making sure to leave his mark. His hands continued their exploration, squeezing your breasts gently, feeling their full weight in his palms. When he tugged on your nipples, pulling them harder than he ever had before, a moan escaped your lips, surprising even yourself.
His lips curved into a smirk against your skin. "Sounds like someone's enjoying this more than they expected.”
Breathlessly, you replied, "You're... doing okay, I guess."
"Just okay?" His breath was hot on your already heated skin. "I'll have to try harder then."
His fingers traced a teasing path down to the hem of your panties, playing with the soft fabric, his fingertips brushing the sensitive skin just beneath. “Lift your hips.”
You complied, lifting your hips slightly, your breath catching as his fingers hooked around the fabric and slowly began to pull it down. You shifted on his lap, letting him slip off your panties completely. He discarded it onto the floor, his hands returning to your thighs, gently massaging the plumpness of it as he fixed his gaze on you.
There was something about you that captivated him at that moment. The way you trembled, the way your breathing quickened, the way your pupils dilated. Spencer had always loved the pure desire reflected in your eyes whenever he touched you, but this was different. It was raw, unfiltered desperation, and he wanted to savor it, to draw it out and see just how far it could go.
“See? Already doing better than just okay.”
Your breath hitched as his palm ran up your inner thigh. “You’re not done proving yourself yet.”
“You know,” he started, his voice low and teasing. “You shouldn’t really challenge me like this.”
“I’m not challenging you… you’re the one who started this.”
His fingers stopped just at the edge of the heat between your legs, teasingly close yet maddeningly far, but close enough to feel the dampness on your skin.
“No, you started this.” He moved his hand further, brushing against your outer lips. “You told me I wasn’t capable of being dominant.”
Your mouth fell open, a gasp escaping your lips. “I—I didn’t think…”
“Didn’t think I could take control?” His fingers grazed your slick pussy, slowly brushing your arousal between your folds. “Or didn’t think you’d enjoy it this much?”
You could only moan in response, your body reacting despite your attempts to keep your composure.
“Tell me,” he whispered, his voice as soft as his touch. “Are you still not convinced?”
Your breath hitched as his fingers found your clit. You gasped, trying to form coherent thoughts. “I… I’m starting to see your point.”
“I need more than that,” he uttered, and to your disappointment, he pulled away. “Lay down on my lap.”
Your eyes widened. “What?”
He smiled. “You heard me. Lay down on my lap.”
Hesitantly, you shifted, positioning yourself across his lap, your heart pounding in your chest. “Spencer, I don’t—” you started, uncertainty lacing your voice.
“Shh,” he cut you off, his hand softly patting your back. “Relax.”
He watched as you started to relax, the supple curve of your back arching slightly, highlighting the roundness of your ass as you settled into position. His hand rested lightly on your lower back while his other found your face, turning it towards him. His eyes met yours as he brushed a stray lock of hair away from your forehead.
"Look at me," he whispered. “You trust me, don’t you?”
You nodded, keeping your eyes steady on his soft brown orbs even though your heart was racing while his other hand trailed down the curve of your hips. Then, without warning, his hand lifted from your skin only to come down gently in a firm, open-handed spank on your ass that resounded through the quiet room.
"Spencer!" you exclaimed, a flush spreading across your cheeks.
His hand rubbed the area soothingly. “Have I convinced you enough?”
You bit your lip, feeling the warmth of his touch both soothing and stimulating. “Maybe,” you replied breathlessly, your cheeks still flushed.
“Maybe?” He laughed. “Why do I feel like you’re doing this on purpose?”
You looked away, flustered, not wanting to admit the truth. “I’m not… I mean…” you stammered, your face heating up even more.
Seeing your reaction, he moved his hand between your thighs again, his fingers brushing against your slickness. “Interesting,” he hummed. “It seems you’re enjoying this more than you’re letting on.”
You couldn’t help but moan softly at his touch. “Spencer…”
“But you don’t deserve this yet,” he said, pulling his hand back teasingly. “Not until you’ve fully earned it.”
His hand suddenly came down on your ass again, the sharp sound echoing through the room. The burning sting made you gasp.
“Count,” he instructed.
You could feel your eyes well up with unshed tears, the intensity of the slap overwhelming. You should feel ashamed and embarrassed by the situation, everything about this should send you into sheer mortification. Yet, there was also an undeniable pleasure threading through the pain, so intense that you could feel yourself getting aroused.
Another spank followed, slightly harder this time. “I told you to count.” “Two,” you gasped.
His hand came down again, firmer than before. “Start from the beginning.”
You blinked away the moisture in your eyes, trying to steady your voice. “One...”
“That’s better,” he murmured, his hand connecting with your skin, the sensation sharper than before.
“Two...”
His eyes stayed locked on you, gauging every reaction as he slapped you again.
“Three,” you cried out.
You continued to count, the numbers blending with your gasps and moans. By the time you reached seven, you were panting, the tears finally spilling over your face. His touch softened, his fingers gently caressing your reddened skin as he pressed his lips on your cheek, trying to kiss your tears away.
“Oh, baby, you know I hate to see you cry,” his voice was sweet, almost cooing, but the underlying taunt was unmistakable as his hand came down again sharply on your ass. You cried out, but he continued to trail soft kisses along your jawline, his breath warm against your skin.
“You’re doing so well,” he breathed. “But I need you to count again.”
“Eight,” you whined as you tried to catch your breath. Before you could fully process the last slap, you felt another sharp smack on your ass, making you cry out again.
“Spencer, please,” you whimpered, the mix of sensations overwhelming you. His kisses were gentle, almost tender, but his hand was anything but soft.
“Just a little more, I promise,” he murmured against your ear, his breath hot and comforting. “What number was that?”
“Nine,” you choked out, your voice trembling.
“One more,” he whispered. “Just one last time. Can you be a good girl and count it out for me?”
You nodded, bracing yourself. He slowly lifted his hand again and paused in the air for a moment before letting it down in a firm, final spank.
“Ten!”
“Very good,” he praised softly, his voice warm and approving. He rubbed the stinging area gently as his lips found yours in a tender, reassuring kiss, his hand cradling your face gently.
“There, all done,” he said, pulling away. “Do you think you deserve your reward now?”
You nodded slightly, your body still humming from the intense sensations. “Please.”
His smile was soft when you met his gaze. “Alright,” he hummed. “You’ve earned it.”
You closed your eyes, feeling a shiver of anticipation run through you as his fingers slipped between your legs again. The warmth of his fingers against your folds sent waves of pleasure through your body, and when he pressed gently against your clit, a gasp escaped your lips. You arched into his touch, every nerve ending tingling with the sensations he was creating. The pleasure built steadily, each stroke sending you higher, your breath coming in short, ragged gasps.
“Spencer,” you moaned, unable to hold back yourself as you arched your back, your hips grinding against his fingers, seeking more of the delicious friction.
“You’re so wet,” he sighed with a hint of surprise and satisfaction. “You like it when I go hard on you?”
You could only nod in response, your mind barely able to form coherent thoughts with the way he was working on you.
“Do you think you can take it if I go harder?” he asked, his fingers stilling for a moment, waiting for your response.
“Yes,” you whispered, your voice barely audible but filled with desire. “I-I can take it.”
He answered you by slipping, not one, but two fingers into you without warning. The sound you let out was filthy, almost primal, a mix of a moan and a gasp that reverberated through the room. The unexpected intrusion drove you crazy, making it impossible to hold back your reactions as his fingers started to move inside you, stretching and filling you in a way that had your toes curling.
“God, you’re so tight,” Spencer sighed, his lips brushing against your ear. He could feel your walls clenching around him, contracting in response every time he thrust his fingers into you. It drove him wild. It consumed his mind. He couldn't believe he was the one making you feel this way.
If you were wet before, you were absolutely drenched now. Your arousal stained his skin, and it amazed him how it didn't seem to stop. The liquid seemed to intensify, becoming the only noise in the room—a slick, wet sound that echoed softly as he started a faster pace, curling his fingers inside you.
You felt the pressure building, a tight coil of pleasure winding tighter and tighter in your lower stomach. Every curl of his fingers, every stroke against that perfect spot inside you, sent waves of pleasure crashing through your body.
“Spencer,” you whimpered, your voice a desperate plea. “I’m so close…”
He pulled your face closer to his, brushing his lips on your cheek. "Already?"
You nodded, unable to form words. Suddenly, he pulled his fingers out, leaving a void that made you whimper in protest. But before you could voice your frustration, his hand came down sharply on your ass. The sudden slap made you wail, your jaw slacking open.
"You didn't think it would be that easy, did you?"
You didn't know which surprised you more, his sudden withdrawal or the sharp sting of his slap. But both affected you like a storm suddenly breaking the calm, jolting your senses awake, heightening your senses.
With his hands still on you, he leaned in, his breath warm against your ear. "Have I proved you wrong yet?"
You could barely speak. Instead, you opted for a nod, hoping he’d understand your silent affirmation. But Spencer wanted more, he wanted to hear it. When your voice failed to form the words, his hand came down sharply again, a firm smack that made you gasp and arch your back.
"Not good enough," he said firmly. He then gripped your chin, turning your face to meet his gaze, forcing you to look directly into his eyes in this position. His hold was firm, his eyes intense. "Say it."
You opened your mouth, trying to form the words, but they came out as a soft whimper when you felt his fingers suddenly slipping into your cunt again. The stretch was even more delicious this time, intensifying the pleasure already floating in your veins, scattering your thoughts.
"Focus," he commanded, but how could you when he thrust his fingers into you at a mind-blowing speed? Each thrust seemed to demand an answer, it was as if he was using your own body against you, pushing you to the edge until the only thing you could think of was the control he had over you.
And it was working, because all you could focus on was him—his fingers pumping in and out of your slick cunt, the intense gaze in his eyes, the warmth of his breath against your lips. Everything around you seemed to blur and only he remained clear.
"Say it," he urged again. "Say that you were wrong."
You struggled to form coherent thoughts, let alone speak, but his hard gaze and the relentless motion of his fingers forced the words from you. "I-I was... wrong."
"Louder," he demanded, his fingers never faltering. "I can't hear you, baby, need you to talk to me."
You moaned, your body trembling with the need for release. "I-I wanna cum."
"Hold it," he said firmly. His fingers didn't relent, maintaining that perfect rhythm, pushing you further, harder. "Say it louder."
You clenched around him, trying desperately to hold back the orgasm threatening to overwhelm you. "I-I was wrong."
"I think you can do better than that."
You groaned. The pressure was too much and you fought to find your voice through the haze of pleasure. You could feel every ridge and curve of his fingers as they moved inside you, the friction building an unbearable heat that pooled low in your abdomen.
"I still can't hear you."
"I was wrong!" you cried out pathetically, your voice breaking with desperation. Your walls clamped around him, trying to draw him deeper as the slick, wet sounds of his movements filled your ears. You were drowning in the sensations, the tension inside you winding tighter and tighter. The world narrowed down to the feeling of his fingers inside you, the relentless pressure, the intense heat pooling in your core.
“Spencer, please,” your voice cracked, tears prickling down your cheeks again. You could taste the saltiness as you took a sharp intake of breath. "Please, please, please, please—"
"Now."
With that single word, the tension inside you snapped. A powerful surge of pleasure tore through you, starting at your core and radiating outward like a shockwave. Your vision blurred, and your entire body convulsed as the orgasm overwhelmed your senses. You cried out his name, and your muscles contracted around his fingers, squeezing tightly as the sensations spiraled out of control. The pleasure was so intense it was almost painful.
Your skin felt electric. Your heart pounded in your chest. Your breath came in ragged gasps as you rode out the peak of your climax, hips bucked against his hand while his fingers continued their relentless pace, drawing out your orgasm, making it last longer than you thought possible. The intensity left you trembling, your body spent and your mind unable to process anything other than the overwhelming pleasure.
You finally collapsed against him moments later, your body limp and your breath coming in shallow, uneven gasps. The intensity of your orgasm left you feeling both weightless and heavy as if all the strength had been drawn out of you. He gently pulled you onto his lap, your smaller frame draping effortlessly over his.
And this time, Spencer shouldn't be laughing, but he couldn't help himself. His chuckle was soft and warm, a sound that seemed to vibrate through his chest and into your body as you lay against him. It wasn't a mocking laugh, but you could sense his amusement.
"If I had any strength," you muttered, sinking into him. "I'd hit you so hard right now."
He laughed again, this time a bit louder. "Well, it's a good thing you're too worn out to try.”
"Don't get used to it," you warned, though there was no real threat in your tone.
"I wouldn't dream of it," he replied, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. "But I do enjoy seeing you like this."
You nuzzled closer to him, feeling the exhaustion beginning to set in. Your eyelids grew heavy as you muttered, "Just don't forget who’s really in charge in this relationship."
"I wouldn’t dare.”
“I’m—“ you stopped as a yawn suddenly hit you. “I’m… the dominant one here.”
"Sure, you are," he teased gently, stroking your hair as you settled comfortably against him, a smile playing on his lips.
“I… mean it.”
“Of course. You’re always in charge.”
You nodded sleepily. “And I’m… still going... to… hit you… later…”
He rested his head on top of yours, letting your body fully relax into his. “I look forward to it.”
With a final, contented sigh, you let yourself drift off on his lap, the sound of his steady heartbeat lulling you into the most peaceful sleep.

Yandere Jock wants Nerdy You... Badly
🦦: Hi, it's my first time requesting without anon, so please excuse any awkwardness.
Can I request maybe yandere jock/bully x extremely anxious male reader with an oral fixation? Only if you want, though.
A/N: I decided to go with jock since I haven’t written that yet. Hope you like it!
[Yandere! Jock x Anxious! GN! Reader]
·゜·:.。..。.:·☆·゜·:.。..。.:·☆
Chase is the captain of the baseball team, and he’s helped lead the team to several victories. He’s an all-star athlete and has scores of girls (and some guys) throwing themselves at his feet. As if his position at the top of the school sports hierarchy wasn’t enough, the young man was also blessed with a pretty impressive body too— muscles for days and coming in well over six feet tall.
And he loves you so much!
But you don’t pay too much attention to Chase because you’re too busy hiding away from everyone due to your extreme social anxiety.
It feels like a curse, really. The mere thought of being trapped in a building (a.k.a. school, *shudder) with a whole bunch of other people who all stare at you and talk about you behind your back is torture!
Hence, you try your best to blend into the crowd and not stand out.
After reading a tip in a mental health article, you resulted to sucking on hard candy when you get stressed out. Your nerves start to climb? You pop a little mint into your mouth and suck on it.
It helps.
And it also garnered the attention of a certain jock.
The mere millisecond that Chase had first seen you popping a piece of candy into your mouth and sucking on it as if your life depended on it, he swore his heart had skipped a beat.
“So cute,” he’d whispered to himself as his eyes honed in on you— focusing on his cute little darling.
He has something else for you to suck on.
And from that moment on, Chase knew you are his.
You just didn’t know it yet. He just had to court you.
Unfortunately, with your social anxiety, that proved to be a little challenge to the lovesick jock.
Chase would frequently wait by your locker for you, trying to strike up a simple conversation that would lead to him asking you out. However, every time you’d see the big guy, you would turn bright red and pop a candy into your mouth, turning around and heading straight for your class instead.
Chase tried to offer you a ride home so that you wouldn’t have to ride the bus— but the idea of one-on-one time in a cramped car with a guy sent shivers down you spine, and you’d barely had time to blurt out, “No thanks!” before sprinting to the bus.
Chase even “surprisingly” transferred into some of your classes. And with one glare at the students sitting next to you, they’d fled, allowing him to take any seat that was closest to yours… but you would refuse to look up from your textbooks, your jaw clenched as you sucked on some hard candy.
But Chase is persistent.
One day, as you’re leaving English class, Chase utilizes his impressive bulk to block the classroom exit from you.
“Hey, Y/N,” he said in his deep voice, trying to act all nonchalant, yet his Adam’s apple quivered when he noticed you sucking on something.
“Oh,” you muttered, your face already growing cherry red, “h-hi Chase.” The exaggerated size difference between you and the jock was striking. He completely towered over you and was at least twice as wide with solid muscle. It really made your heart beat faster, both from fear and a little because you thought it was hot.
You sucked on your candy even harder.
Chase casually leaned against the door jam, crossing his big arms in front of his beefy chest. “So, I was wonderin’ if you’d come see me play tonight?” he asked, playfully flexing his massive biceps, the muscle curling out of his short sleeves with the action.
Your eyes widened, but still, the idea of being in the crowded bleachers with a bunch of screaming, rowdy people wasn’t something you looked forward to.
“Um…” you began, trying to think up an excuse to turn Chase down.
Chase could sense your hesitation, and before you could put two and two together, the large jock reached out and snatched you up. He easily tossed you over his broad shoulder, as if you weighed absolutely nothing.
Chase felt on top of the world carrying you, like this was where you belonged: in his arms.
You were stunned silent, unable to move a muscle while in the strong grip of the large jock, who carried you off towards where you assumed would be the gym…
But Chase passed the gym, and even exited the school, heading towards the parking lot.
“Um, wh-where are we going?” you asked. “I thought you had a game?”
Chase puffed out his chest with pride.
He has you! He finally has you! And he’s not going to let go.
Chase stopped in front of his car, practically tossing you inside.
He quickly ran to the driver’s side, starting up the car and speeding off, taking you, his Darling, home with him so that he can really see your sucking skills in action!

————
Evan Buckley is a hellishly gorgeous man. Oftentimes, you have to remind yourself that he’s real—that he’s not some sort of mirage, a result of your constant sleep deprived state. He’s the kind of breathtaking that you find to be unfair.
You started working for the 118 as their house arson investigator three months ago. Captain Nash soothed every nerve you had going in, showing you to your quaint little office, introducing you to everyone else in the house. You’d definitely needed the comfort of that transition, but hadn’t expected your colleagues to be so welcoming.
You were transferred as part of a greater Los Angeles initiative to create stronger communication and collaboration between the first responders and specialized investigators, as so much of their jobs go hand-in-hand. Although you’re pretty sure it’s only because the department heads get sick of answering follow-up questions about causes of fires—if people had insurance, if it was an accident or an attack, etc.
So they split up you and the rest of your original team into varying firehouses so that there would always be an arson investigator on hand. And if there’s any foul play, then the police can be contacted quicker, as the investigator becomes a direct source to target those issues. You’d complain about all these silly loopholes if it weren’t for the fact that you’d gotten a pretty raise for your trouble.
In truth, working with the 118 is the most useful you’ve felt in a long time. You know you’re good at your job, and you’d tell anyone who asked that you’ve done the work and you know that to be true. This opportunity has allowed you so much more field work than you could’ve imagined, which excites you. And there is the benefit of the eye-candy your coworker provides.
Which is why, each time Buck approaches you, you have to blink a few times, press your nails into your palm, do something to ground yourself so that you might be able to carry on a conversation with him. Tonight though, he’s managed to sneak up on you, giving you no time to seem more like a sociable human being.
“Hey, uh, you ever figure out the cause of that house fire from the other night?”
Buck is propped up against the door to your office, the air immediately responding to his presence, making everything feel lighter.
You look up from your desk, huff out a breath to try and blow the hair away from your eyes.
“Oh, hey, Buck. The house that the newlywed couple had just bought?”
Knowing him is enough to tell you that this particular fire would be the one to stick in his memory come week's end, the others being much too mundane for conversation.
Buck nods, a mischievous smirk appearing on his face.
“Yeah, actually,” you say, encouraged to continue. “Turns out the couple started it without even realizing. They didn’t remember everything at first, but after going over there and questioning them some more, they finally pieced it together.”
Buck steps a little further into your office. You watch as he bends at the waist, hands coming to rest on one of the squishy chairs across from you.
“How do you start a fire in your own house, and not notice?” he asks, that playful lilt to his voice reaching your ears.
Your cheeks burn, a flush running through your body and turning you hot, head to toe. You tap your pen against your wrist. This isn’t usually the kind of information you’re excited to share with your coworkers—not that they wouldn’t be entertained by it. It’s that they’ll all be too entertained by it.
“Well,” you cough, “turns out they were having a rather aggressive intimate moment and one thing led to another…” You trail off, hoping you won’t have to say it out loud. It was bad enough being in the room when they described their evening in detail, talking directly to one another like you really weren’t there.
Buck cocks his head at you, like a cat that’s just spotted a bug. “I don’t follow,” he says. His mouth quirks up the slightest bit at the corners.
You inhale, mustering up enough courage to blurt it out before this becomes any more awkward than it has to be.
“They were having sex in the kitchen and her ass bumped up against the stove top, turning on the burner. She’d grabbed onto a dish towel, for support or whatever, and when they moved it upstairs, she tossed the towel behind her and…”
“Neither of them noticed the fire because they were too caught up in the heat of the moment,” Buck finishes for you.
You nod, sucking your teeth just slightly. “Yep. What’s worse is after spending an hour digging around and talking to them, the wife went ‘You know, now that you say all this, I do remember my bum feeling hotter than usual before we made it to the bed.’” You roll your eyes.
Buck drags his hands down his cheeks, straightening. There’s a smile on his face when he says, “Well, I guess they say love makes you do crazy things.”
“I suppose that’s one way to put it,” you say, laughing a little tensely. You chance a bit of eye contact with him, realizing he’d already been staring at you for who knows how long. “Was there anything else you needed? Or just curious about the local arsonists?”
Buck chuckles, turning his face away from you momentarily.
“Actually, I was wondering if you’d want to go out for drinks tonight.”
You glance at the clock on the upper right hand corner of your computer monitor. It reads 5:43. “Is it a special occasion or something? I feel like no one’s really done that since Chimney had a kid.”
Buck says your name. A knot forms in your throat. “I didn’t mean with everybody. I meant just the two of us.”
You blink. “Why?” You blurt out, the one syllable making you stutter.
His brows knit together. “Uh, so we can get to know each other better? I mean, I thought it was pretty obvious that I like you.”
You’re pretty sure steam might be coming out of your ears. “Um, well, I don’t like to assume. I mean, you’re a pretty flirty guy, you know?”
He says your name again as he plants his hands on your desk. Your pen falls out of your grasp. You’re mesmerized as you watch him pick it up and place it in the cup over to your left.
“This is Buck 3.0, remember? I don’t just flirt with anyone. Besides, flirting usually comes to me, what with being a sight for sore eyes and whatnot.”
You snort: this cute little laugh that comes straight from the back of your throat that Buck has grown to love.
Buck decides not to rile you up anymore. “So, drinks or no? I definitely won’t cry myself to sleep tonight if you say no.”
You facepalm. “Yeah, alright. Filling my bloodstream with alcohol might be exactly what I need right now.”
————
Two cosmos in, and you’re feeling a lot better. You’re grateful for having kept a pair of jeans and a relatively-okay-for-going-out top in your locker, allowing you to look somewhat presentable enough to be so near Buck for an entire evening.
So far it’s been pleasant, the both of you making small talk, you showing him pictures of your cat and him listening intently to all the antics said cat gets up to during the night.
You’re chewing on a bacon covered cheese fry when Buck speaks. “What did you mean earlier, when you said you didn’t like to assume? Like, not assuming a guy would be into you?”
You nod, pausing with your hand in front of your mouth while you swallow. “That’s exactly what I meant. This isn’t something that happens often.”
“You’re fuckin’ with me,” Buck says, taking another swig from his beer. If he’s not careful, he’s going to spill it down his shirtfront.
Your chest thumps with self-deprecation, the voices from the sides of your head—the ones that create that pressure behind your eyes—telling you this might be a great moment to talk shit about yourself. To air out all your faults to this man you probably don’t even deserve to be sitting across from. God knows he won’t be interested when he really gets to know you.
You inhale.
You’ve been in therapy long enough to know the power of positive thinking. You know that everyone is on a different, unique timeline—that things happen for everyone at different points in their lives.
But being inexperienced in all aspects of the romantic world is something you’ve carried shame for practically your entire adult life. Only you promised yourself that you wouldn’t let it consume you anymore. It’s your life, and you have the ability to change the way you think. That doesn’t mean your body doesn’t still react, though, doesn’t still flush with anger at how your life has gone thus far, like your veins don’t thrum as you think of all the vile comments you could say about yourself, the ways you could punish yourself for being the odd one out.
That’s why being approached by Buck in such a blunt, upfront way was such a shock to your system. That just doesn’t, or rather, it hasn’t ever happened to you.
And with Buck being who he is, it felt like even more of a fever dream. You almost wanted to spin around and tell them to cut the cameras, the lenses zooming in on your face—mockumentary style.
“I’m not though,” you say. “Guys don’t usually come up to me and ask me out on a date, or ask me anything really.”
Buck is staring at you intently, and you almost wonder if you went too far by calling this a date.
“Are you for real?”
“Well, I wish you wouldn’t say it like that, but yeah. I guess there’s just something about me that’s not super alluring to most men? That’s why I was so surprised by you.”
He waves his hands around gently. “I didn’t mean it like a bad thing, I’m just having a hard time wrapping my head around that.”
You eat a few more cheese fries. “Why?”
He stutters for a few moments. “Because you’re just so…so perfect?” You snort, an air of sarcasm to it. “Like, for one, you’re super hot. You’ve got this whole shy but totally badass vibe about you, and you’re passionate and great at what you do. I guess I just can’t fathom there not being a line of guys wanting to jump your bones if you’ll let them.”
You laugh. It makes Buck smile.
“I appreciate that you think those things about me. For a long time, I thought that was pretty impossible. Guess when you go twenty four years without anyone actively pursuing you, you start to wonder.”
The table falls silent, and you finish your drink, thanking the waiter when he takes your empty glass, returning with a full cup of water for you.
“So, let me get this clear,” Buck says. Normally those words would freak you the fuck out, but you’re feeling a lot less tense now, less scared of talking about your situation. It’s not what you want, but it’s how it is. “No guy has ever asked you out. So you’ve never had a boyfriend? Never had a first kiss? Never had…sex? Or anything adjacent to it?”
“That’s right,” you say. “And the orgasms I’ve given myself don’t count towards the adjacent. So yeah, you’re right. It’s embarrassing, trust me, I know.”
Buck is still reeling from you saying the word orgasm out loud to him right now, not to mention the images flashing through his mind because of it. He pulls himself together.
“It’s not embarrassing. Are you embarrassed by it?”
You clear your throat. “I’m certainly not happy about it. Honestly, I’ve spent a lot of time wondering what it is that I’m missing that makes me so behind everyone else. And I’ve spent a lot of time being angry at myself. But it’s not like I can force those things to happen for me, you know?”
Buck gives you this look, and you know exactly what he’s going to say. A small grin makes an appearance on your face.
“Well, I mean, you could,” Buck says. “But I can see why you haven’t. In my experience, just hooking up with someone to get off, or just say you’ve done something, kinda makes you feel like shit.”
You wrap your hands around your cool glass, running your fingers up and down through the condensation.
“Unfortunately, I’m also a hopeless romantic. So I’ve thought about just hooking up with someone so that I’m not a virgin anymore, but that’s not what I want. I want a proper relationship and someone that cares about me and wants to be with me. Seems that’s a lot to ask for though.”
Buck reaches across the table and sets his hand on your wrist. “Hey, no, it’s not a lot to ask for. And it’s not bad to be a hopeless romantic! Honestly, I think there are more people like that than we know, but they do whatever to fit in. I am sorry that you’ve felt like this is something to be ashamed of. I can’t imagine how that feels. But I also think it means any relationship you’d have would be more successful because you’ve got your shit together already.”
That makes you laugh, just a little, and Buck is immediately thrilled, fully taking your hand in his. You don’t even have it in you to argue with him. For once, you just listen and try to see yourself through his eyes.
“Well, I do appreciate you saying all of that, Buck. It’s only that I’ve been patient for so long, and I’m starting to think being wanted isn’t in the cards for me.”
Your gaze has dropped to the glossy table in front of you. You can see the reflections from the overhead televisions, from other patrons walking by, waiters carrying trays of drinks. Buck squeezes your hand in a way that makes you lock eyes with him.
“So…what is it you think this is then?”
You blink. You have absolutely no response in your brain that would be the appropriate answer for this question.
“You asked me out for drinks.”
His grip on your hand moves up to your wrist, and a shiver runs down your spine when you feel his thumb press into your pulse. This is the most contact you’ve ever had with a man. Suddenly you’re hyper-aware of his skin on yours, the feeling of his calloused palms, shockingly cool and free of sweat, much to the contrary of your own. Your heart begins to race when it finally catches up. Maybe it’s better that this is coming on so unexpectedly.
“And…” Buck says.
You cough even though absolutely nothing is tickling your throat. “You said you wanted to get to know me better.”
If it’s possible, Buck’s smile gets bigger. “Because?”
“You said you liked me?”
“Atta girl!” He teases. A shock of heat shoots straight from your throat down to your low belly. You pray he can’t see it on your face. Luckily, he continues talking. “So, now that we’re clear on me having a thing for you, what would you like to do with that information?”
You take a quick sip of water, mouth suddenly dry. “Well, my immediate thought is that I should run away and hide because in my head, a potential relationship, or whatever, sounds great but right now? Right here with you touching my hand and looking at me? It sounds kind of terrifying.”
Buck starts with the reading again, sliding his thumb further up until it’s nestled in the center of your forearm. It makes you shiver and his eyes flash.
“Sounds like we’ve gotta get you out of that head of yours and into the present.”
————
With therapy, you’ve gotten exponentially better at learning how to breathe, how to focus on what’s happening right now, so that you don’t spiral out of control just thinking about what might be happening in a few hours, days, weeks. Being more present is something you’ve learned. That is, in your daily life. But when you’re not used to interacting with men, these feelings are so strange, uncomfortable and scary.
Your imagination can only take you so far, and you’re accustomed to those limitations. Not knowing what a kiss feels like, not knowing the feeling of anyone else’s touch but your own, not being able to properly picture what might happen to your mind and body when in physical contact with someone you want.
It’s both exciting—sitting here, in Buck’s Jeep, as he drives you home, imagining that those feelings might finally be attainable—and nerve wracking, because how does any of this really work?
Reading about relationships, hearing about your best friend’s escapades, watching a love scene on tv—it’s all different than really experiencing it. Truthfully, it feels like there’s a part of your brain focused on dissociating so that your heart doesn’t fall out of your ass or so that you don’t go into hiding before anything can happen.
By the time Buck pulls into your driveway, you’re feeling like hiding might be your safest bet.
He stops the car, turns off the engine. “Let me walk you to your door?”
You nod, unbuckling your seatbelt with shaky hands.
Buck follows you up the short sidewalk and up to your little front porch. You both pause under your outside lights, listening to the sound of crickets screeching from the shrubs. He puts his hands in his pockets and starts to rock back and forth on the balls of his feet.
“So, uh, you were kinda quiet on the way here…did I freak you out earlier? Because if I didn’t, I didn’t mean—”
“No!” you blurt. “You didn’t freak me out, you made me hopeful, actually, I think I’m just afraid of all that romantic stuff because I’ve never done it before…”
He smiles. “Well, yeah, of course it’s a little nerve wracking, but wouldn’t it make you happy to experience those things? Like say, a hug, for starters?”
“Are you trying to hug me right now?” You deadpan, though excitement is thrumming through your veins, blocking out any hesitance.
“Well, actually, I was hoping to kiss you, but warm up to it first, you know?” Buck says, a teasing lilt to his voice, a naughty smirk playing on his lips. You wish there was another word for it, but there’s not.
You freeze. Your face has got to be on fire. You bring your hands to your cheeks, covering yourself from his view.
Buck chuckles. Loosely, he circles your wrists. “Hey, don’t hide. What’s wrong?”
You’ve glued your hands to your face. “You’re making me sweat, Buckley.”
If at all possible, this makes him smile bigger, laugh harder, insanely pleased with himself. You hear the rustling of his coat as he leans down, leveling his lips with the shell of your ear. “Is that such a bad thing?” he whispers.
You pull away quickly, pointing an accusing finger at him. “Not fair!” you joke. “But, I would like a hug…”
At your consent, he’s on you immediately. If you thought he was big just looking at him, having his body pressed to yours, in the most beautiful bear hug embrace you’ve ever experienced, he seems impossibly huge. It makes it feel like you’re the only person in the world. He’s so warm, so solid. His arms are around your back. He’d helped guide yours around his neck, but you’re so dazed that you hadn’t noticed.
God, he’s so tall. You can feel the soft of his tummy, and you’re afraid that if you stay like this for too long you won’t ever be able to get through another day without craving the contact. His hair is surprisingly smooth where you feel it against your cheek. His form practically swallows you whole. Not to mention how nice he smells. You’ve never been able to understand those lines in your romance novels, talking about spice and man and ginger whatever. But now you do. He smells like vanilla shampoo and woody body wash.
“This is so nice,” you mumble into the side of his neck, way before you can talk yourself out of it. You can feel Buck’s laugh against your chest. It feels amazing. It’s like an out of body experience.
He pulls back just enough so that he can look at you, but he doesn’t remove his arms, only shifts so that his hands are gently grasping your waist. You’ve never felt this way before—like all your nerves are being sent into overdrive. You’re alive with the smallest of touches.
“I genuinely can’t fathom how any man has ever looked at you and not wanted to make you theirs on the spot. I could scoop you up and keep you all to myself right now.”
This time you manage to maintain eye contact with him. You grin, biting the inside of your lip. “Buck?”
“Yeah?”
“I’m feeling really brave right now so if you were serious about that kissing stuff, this might be the time to act.”
Buck tosses his head back, gleeful laughter filling the small space of your front porch. Even so, his hands move up to the sides of your neck, fingers warm against your skin. “You’re sure?” he asks, his thumb caressing your pulse. He feels a kick of cockiness knowing he’s done that to you.
“I’m sure,” you say. Nod your head one firm time.
“Maybe your cheek first? As a warm up?”
You nod again. You’ve officially steeled yourself. Buck bends to meet you, tilting your head back just slightly so that he can reach you from a better angle. His hand cups the back of your neck as he presses his lips to your cheek. He’s so sure of himself, so passionate about this small thing, that it feels sensual. It puts you in a trance. His lips remain on your cheek for just a minute, the beginnings of stubble scratching at your skin. You have the urge to giggle like a frenzied teen.
“How was that?”
You bite your lip, hating the way you’re buzzing with adrenaline, filling with excitement at all these new sensations. But more so, you feel so special. So seen. You feel fuller than you ever have before at being treated so gently, being cherished and looked at like you’re this precious being. “I really, really liked it,” you tell him.
“Well, I’m glad.” He winks. “I did too.” He relishes in your little giggle. “How about a real one before we call it a night?”
You’re nodding again. “Yes. I would like that very much. I just want you to know that I might be really bad at it and I’m probably gonna embarrass myself and it’s probably going to be the worst, most awful kiss you’ve ever had and—”
Buck’s lips are on yours, successfully shutting you up. You squeak.
In truth, it does feel pretty awkward for the first few seconds, buck Buck takes it in stride. Doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable, just takes what you’re giving him and guides you in a better direction. He tips your head back again, slotting his lips over yours and pressing himself to you. Your brain goes completely quiet. You can’t think or feel anything that isn’t Buck. This feeling spreads throughout your body, easing the ache in your chest, making you feel light on your toes.
Relief.
You admittedly have no idea what you’re doing but try your best to follow his lead, trying to kiss him back with as much passion as you’re feeling inside, tentatively threading your fingers through his hair, setting a hand on his chest. At one point, his tongue runs over your bottom lip and you shiver. Buck’s hand flies to the small of your back, keeping you grounded. You let it happen, curious as to how it might feel. You don’t have words. He licks into your mouth, and you giggle. It makes him smile and he separates from you long enough to enquire what’s got you laughing.
“I just realized what people mean when a couple looks like they’re eating each other's faces. It’s really nice, actually. Not as gross as people make it out to be.”
Buck snorts. “Thanks for the compliment.”
“You’re welcome,” you say, already scrambling to get his mouth back on yours. He doesn’t feel like teasing, letting you pull him down, letting you try and lead this one. You’re so gentle—trying to figure out the right way, the way that works for the both of you, to kiss him. He likes that you treat him so carefully.
When you finally end the kiss, you break the silence created by an intense few minutes of eye contact. “Was I bad? You can tell me, I know I was a little clumsy at the least.”
“Nah, not bad,” Buck says. “You’re a quick learner. I enjoyed it. Ten out of ten, would do it again.”
“Me too. Practice makes perfect, right?”
————
For the past few weeks, things with Buck have been going well. Since that first night out, he’s prioritized getting to know you better, spending time with you that doesn’t revolve around a nasty fire and the plethora of causes it may or may not have had. Time that doesn’t allow for any of your coworkers to pick and tease.
Buck is starting to feel like one of your best friends. That was cemented the night he watched you play Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, enraptured by how quickly you were solving the puzzles and taking down those grimy basement monsters that, frankly, scared the shit out of him. You only told him that you’d played at least four times at the end of the evening. But hey, all your romance novels have told you that the best relationships are based on solid friendships.
You’ve had the opportunity to kiss him more, some of it sweet and exploratory, you being courageous enough to ask Buck how he likes to be kissed, if he likes it when you tug his hair, if there’s anything you can change or do differently. He’ll only answer those questions if you do first, telling him what’s working and what you want more of. As useful as all of this communication is, it was tremendously embarrassing to share your intimate thoughts with him at first.
Some of the kissing has gotten a bit heavier. The first time you sat in his lap ran through your mind constantly for days after, appearing in your dreams, day and night. You couldn’t get over the way he felt beneath you—solid, warm, so real. How he sounded when he kissed you, how his hands felt on your hips and the curve of your ass. How it had felt when he’d encouraged you to grind against him for the first time. You hadn’t meant to moan, but it was like relief had shot through you. Like your imagination was finally getting to take a break because now you were actually doing the things you imagined. You felt so alive, so powerful, feeling him get hard between your legs, hearing the strain in his voice as he encouraged you to keep moving until you finished.
Tonight is the first night of your long weekend. Neither of you have shifts for the next few days, and you took it upon yourself to ask if he’d like to stay over, maybe get takeout and watch a movie or something. It hadn’t been meant as a request with the hope that it would turn into something more. Frankly, you’ve been feeling more shy since that moment you shared a few weeks ago.
You hadn’t expected to watch a movie in your bed instead of on the couch, hadn’t expected to pause it halfway through because Buck’s stare was practically burning a hole through the side of your head and you had to figure out what was up.
“You’re staring, Buck. Is something wrong?”
He’d laughed. It was unlike a laugh you’d heard from him before. It felt sensual. It felt laced with want.
“Nah, nothing’s wrong. I just can’t get you out of my head.”
Your eyebrows had bunched together. “But…I’m right here. Shouldn’t that help?” That laugh again.
“That’s not what I mean, sweetheart. I mean that I can’t stop thinking about fucking you with my fingers.”
And that’s how you’d ended up on your back, head pressed to your pillows, with Buck hovering over you. He’s kissing you, dragging his tongue over the sides of your neck and kissing a trail back right back up. His hand is resting on your collarbone, fingers tilting you up to him.
“How’s this feel?” he asks, voice muffled against your shoulder.
“G-good,” you manage. “Really good.”
He pulls back, sitting back on his knees and setting his hands on your thighs. “Yeah? You’ve been squirming an awful lot.”
The heat radiating off of you, the way you cover your mouth with the back of your hand is enough of a response. Buck doesn’t say anything more, the both of you sitting in silence for a few minutes. He knows you want to say something. But he won’t force it out of you. He’ll wait until you use your words.
“Buck?” Your voice is a whisper. He hums. You clear your throat, and he bites his lip to hide the pride racing through him at knowing he’s got you all flustered. “What you said before, about touching me? I want you to do it.”
“Yeah?” His smile is so gorgeous, so cocky, and if you weren’t so dazed with lust you might reach out and smack him.
“Yeah,” you say. You give him your best, pleading eyes. That’s the first time you’ve ever looked at him that way, and Buck knows that he’s gonna give in any time you do from here on out. He leans back down, kissing you again. You take one of his hands and bring it between your legs, encouraging him to cup you. “You’ve been kissin’ me like that for so long…already feel pretty wound up.”
He nudges your nose with his, a smirk playing on his lips. He sets his palm down against you, over your shorts. The heel digs into your clit and he starts rubbing you, slow, but firm enough that you gasp. Your hips buck.
“Honestly,” he says, “I’d thought about teasing you, but I feel like you deserve this, after all that patient waiting you’ve done. Is that what you want?”
His middle finger presses over your hole. You’re so warm. He can feel how damp you’ve gotten, that you’ve started to soak through your panties.
“Please,” you breathe. “Want you to touch me, so bad, Buck.” You brace your hands on his shoulders, feeling like all this pent up sexual energy is just begging to come out. You feel feral.
“Okay, baby, okay. Let me get your shorts off, alright?” He taps your hip and you lift up, letting him slide them down your legs.
“Oh, um,” he pauses, a concerned look on his face. “I just wanted to tell you, I-I haven’t shaved or anything. I mean, I trimmed like a week ago, but, if that bothers you, I-”
“Hey, no big deal,” Buck says. “Doesn’t matter to me. Not ever gonna stop me from making my girl feel good.”
My girl.
That alone felt like an orgasm.
He pulls your panties down, and you feel heat rising to your face when he marvels at how they stick to you. But the second Buck lays eyes on your perfect little pussy, he’s the one feeling dazed.
“How no one has ever touched you like this…” He licks a stripe up your inner thigh. “How no one has ever told you how much they fucking want you, never fallen on their knees for you…” He spreads your legs farther, shamelessly trying to memorize every detail of you. “Is beyond me.”
Buck sets his middle and ring finger on the hood of your clit, starting to rub you in slow, agonizing circles.
“Because I feel like I could devour you right now.”
Your feet slide up the bedsheets, legs bending at the knee and allowing Buck to get more comfortable as he settles between them. Buck sets his chin on top of your knee. He’s watching his own hand and how it moves over you. His left hand is pushing up your t-shirt just a little so that he’s massaging the fat of your hip. For a moment he pictures holding onto said hips while he fucks you for the first time, imagines what sounds you might make, and he has to keep himself from letting out a moan.
Buck slides his fingers down to circle your hole, reveling in how soft your skin is, how warm and messy and perfect. He gathers some of your arousal on the tips of his fingers, dragging it up through your lips and over your clit.
“How’s that feel?” he asks. “Tell me what you need, and I’ll give it to you.”
You swallow hard, looking up at him. “Feels good. When you do t-that—jesus—the up and down? It’s so nice, but the circles, that’s what will get me to—”
“That’s what’ll get you to come all over my fingers?”
You moan. It’s high pitched and whiny, a sound you didn’t know you could make. You force the words out of your throat. “Yes.”
“You wanna take a finger now?” Buck kisses your knee. You’re pretty sure he’s sucked a hickey into the skin above it while you’ve been otherwise distracted.
“Please, please, Buck, I need to know how it feels—fuck!”
Buck’s fingers are bigger than yours. Much bigger. The sight of him hovering above you, his eyes almost black, burning with desire for you, really does you in. He starts slow: a few soft thrusts of his finger rubbing your walls, exploring the inside of you.
Then he curls his finger upwards. Your eyes roll back in your head and at the same time your body gives away how fucking turned on you are, how desperate you are for him—and it’s loud.
You’re so wet that your pussy squelches. Something about that sound flips a switch in Buck, and you’re crying out as he adds a second finger, curling them both, clearly enjoying the filthy sounds you’re making.
Buck pushes your knee down and away, settling completely beside you, propped up so he can see your face properly while he’s fingering you within an inch of your life. The way he’s looking at you tells you that he’s going to make you come soon. He’s making it a mission. He wants your orgasm as much as you do. He needs it.
“You’re so fucking wet, baby. ‘M so glad you let me help out this time. I bet you’ve spent so many nights spread out on this bed, fucking yourself, doing all the work alone.”
Buck’s fingers are making you brainless. You feel blissful, so serene, so calm, so fucking good. He keeps curling his fingers, scissoring them every once in a while. You want to tell him that you can’t usually come just from this, that you need external stimulation. You grab onto his bicep.
“Yeah, yeah, Buck—I have. You’re takin’ such good care of me.” He slows down his ministrations, letting you take a breather. Letting you gather your thoughts before he pushes you over the edge. You cup his cheek, pull him down for a kiss. He’s practically got hearts in his eyes.
“Need you to play with my clit, B-Buckley. W-won’t come without it. I wanna come.”
You look down, suddenly entranced by the way Buck’s fingers are moving inside you. He follows your gaze, chuckling to himself. “You like to watch, pretty girl? Guess next time I’ll have to get you a mirror.”
Buck pulls his fingers out of your pussy and you whine. You shiver. You feel so empty. But all is forgotten when he puts the very same fingers that were just inside of you into his mouth. He maintains eye contact with you while he sucks them clean. You moan, despite the fact that he’s not touching you. It’s just so fucking sexy.
His hand returns to your drenched skin, fingers pressing firmly against your clit.
“Where’s that spot, huh?” he asks. “Show me where it feels the best.” You guide him, a little to your left, that spot on the hood of your clit, not directly on it where the stimulation will be too much, but the spot that has you arching your back, quite possibly more revved up than you ever have been before.
Buck is quick to begin soothing those precise little circles again, a look of determination on his face. For a moment, neither of you say anything. There’s only the sound of your breathing, the wet, filthy sound of him rubbing at your clit.
That telltale heat spreads its way through your low belly, through the tops of your thighs, through your pelvis, up your spine. It’s right there, you think.
“Fuck, I’m—” The words are barely out of your mouth by the time your orgasm washes over you, making the room go fuzzy, shrouding you in pure, thoughtless bliss. He fucks you through it, rubbing you until you’re twitching, successfully overstimulated.
You lay there, covered in a sheen of sweat, attempting to restore your breathing to a normal rhythm when he comes back with a damp cloth. You’d been able to tell him where they were, tell him you could clean yourself up, but he insisted. He wipes you off, gets you clean underwear and a fresh t-shirt.
You sit on the edge of your bed, taking in your surroundings, taking in your own feelings about what you’ve just done. You feel so nice. So special. Confident in yourself and your body.
You feel happy. Having this little piece of you cared for so well doesn’t make you whole. You didn’t need the experience to feel complete, or like it made you normal. But you do feel powerful. This was just the icing on top of the cake. Something of a treat. You wish you could think of another way to put it, but you feel like a badass woman.
Buck’s voice pulls you out of your thoughts. He bumps your shoulder.
“I was gonna ask if you enjoyed yourself, but…I mean, I did kind of see that you did.”
You laugh, taking his hand in both of yours. “I did, Buck. I’m glad I got to do that with you. It was perfect for me.”
He shoots you a wink. “Good. And I did wanna preface that I’ll be here whenever you’re ready to do all the other stuff.” He watches the way your eyes crinkle up as you smile.

A Chance Encounter - a cho hyun-ju x reader fic (part 2)
summary: a story about how you and Hyun-ju met and the following years of your relationship. part 1 cw: no use of y/n, reader is afab, angst, transphobia, fluff if you squint really hard, pre-squid game, slice of life, timeline might be a bit wonky, this one is a bit sad. a/n: hey, didn't think i'd get any response on the previous part but people enjoyed and i'm happy! this time i decided to write some background for hyun; the show gives us very little on her, so i made up a lot of stuff. my shayla!! just a heads up, i know nothing of military, so i googled a bunch of stuff and probably faked some information. oh well. enjoy! xx comments are always appreciated ♥️ taglist: @strayteez3staner @dekiruxxx @trizxyp - lemme know if you'd like to be added.
part 2. unexpected bloom
it was hyun-ju.
she’d lingered in the clinic longer than she’d planned, hoping to catch one last glimpse of you. she’d seen you when you first came in, laughing with your friend, and something about your energy had drawn her in. for a moment, she’d dared to hope you might still be there when she left. but when she scanned the waiting room, you were gone, and that small flicker of hope faded into disappointment.
she wasn’t sure why she cared. hyun-ju had felt your glances earlier, and while being stared at wasn’t new to her, it wasn’t something she ever got used to. there was always a tension in those moments—a question of whether the gaze was one of judgment, curiosity, or something worse. but with you, it had been different. there was no malice or disgust in the way you looked at her. if anything, you seemed… curious. interested, maybe. though she told herself she was probably imagining it.
as she sat in her car, her mind drifted back to the past months. it hadn’t been easy—nothing about transitioning ever was—but this was the life she had chosen, the life she’d fought for. hyun-ju’s life had changed drastically. almost a year ago, she’d lost her position in the army, a career she’d poured herself into for twelve long years. as a sergeant first class in the special forces, she’d been respected and admired, known for her skill and discipline. but when she came out to her superior—a man she’d once seen as a mentor, even a father figure—everything crumbled.
she’d gone into his office nervous but hopeful. maybe he’d understand. maybe, at worst, she’d lose a rank or face a transfer. but instead, he’d looked at her like she’d grown a second head, addressing her by her dead name and suggesting she was "confused" or "clouded in judgment." he gave her a week to reconsider her words but by the time she walked out of that office, her military career was over.
at thirty, she was adrift—jobless, heartbroken, and unsure of her place in the world. her girlfriend at the time hadn’t made it any easier. when hyun-ju told her about her plans to transition, the girl had simply said, “i can’t date a gay man. sorry.” no amount of explaining—about how she wasn’t gay, how she liked girls but was also a girl—seemed to get through. the girl left her in a café, bewildered and suddenly very alone.
in moments like that, hyun-ju often found herself reflecting on her life. even as a kid, she’d known she was different. she loved roughhousing with her brother, playing football in the middle of the road and riding her bike around the neighborhood, but she secretly longed to be the pink ranger when they played, even though she always ended up as the blue.
by the time puberty hit, her confusion had crystallized into a painful clarity. she envied the girls in her school—not just for who they were, or her personalities, but for how their bodies changed in ways hers never would. at fourteen, she tried confiding in a school counselor, but that backfired spectacularly when her father found out. the berating she endured and the punishment that followed left her with one lesson: never speak of it again.
her first girlfriend, ga-eul, had been a bright spot in those early years. hyun-ju liked to think she had been a good “boyfriend,” attentive and sensitive, but deep down, she’d longed to be seen for who she truly was. when she left for military service at eighteen, she and ga-eul parted ways.
many years later, when hyun-ju updated her social media with her new name and posted her first photo of her, ga-eul had sent her a message. “i always knew you were special. live your truth, hyun-ju.” it was small, but it meant the world to her.
even so, she carried that secret inside her, even as she became a star in physical education, even as she left for mandatory military service at eighteen. rising through the ranks to become a special forces sergeant first class was no small feat, especially for someone who had to constantly suppress half of who they were. but at home, behind closed doors, she allowed herself small moments of freedom. over time, she collected pieces of her true self—a pair of delicate earrings, a sleek dress, makeup she practiced applying in secret.
over the past nine months, hyun-ju had made strides toward becoming the woman she’d always been inside. hrt had softened her features, reshaped her body, and even brought a slight swell to her chest. now, every time she looked in the mirror, she felt closer to the person she’d always been inside. but it wasn’t enough—not yet.
this new chapter in her life wasn’t without its challenges. her savings, her army pension, and her cautious spending habits had carried her this far, but she hadn’t anticipated how expensive transitioning would be. she’d started laser hair removal and gotten fillers and botox, but today’s procedure was her first major surgery: a rhinoplasty to smooth out the bump on her nose and reshape the tip and nostrils. she had other procedures planned—a facelift, jaw shaving, double eyelid surgery—but her surgeon had advised starting small. the costs were steep, but to her it was worth it.
and yet, the isolation that came with these changes weighed the most on her. she’d distanced herself from her family, avoided video calls, and cut ties with many of her old friends and colleagues. outside of her therapist and a trans support group she’d joined, she rarely interacted with anyone who truly saw her.
and then there was you.
two weeks later, you were back at the clinic with ha-neul, waiting outside the doctor’s office with your kindle. you were engrossed in your book when a quiet argument at the reception desk caught your attention. looking up, you saw her: hyun-ju.
she looked different from before, her hair slightly longer and tied in a small bun. she wore jeans, knee-high boots, and a trench coat, with a leather crossbody bag slung over her shoulder. but her face was what really caught your attention.
her nose was bandaged, the skin around it bruised and swollen. she looked tired, but it wasn’t just physical—it was the kind of weariness that came from carrying too much for too long. you weren’t sure why your breath hitched, but it did. then you caught snippets of the conversation.
“i’m sorry, miss,” the receptionist said with an apologetic smile. “we can’t dismiss you without a third-party signature. it’s for your safety.”
hyun-ju’s voice was soft but firm, laced in frustration. “i have no one.”
before you could think, you were on your feet, walking toward them. “i—i could help?” you stammered, unsure if you were even speaking to her directly.
she turned to you, her face swollen and bruised, her nose bandaged. for a moment, her expression was unreadable.
“i don’t know if you remember me,” you said quickly, trying to fill the silence. “we met a couple of weeks ago? i was with my friend ha-neul… oh, i didn’t introduce myself back then. i’m sorry.” you gave her your name, fumbling slightly, before adding, “if it’s okay, i could sign you out. i could even help you get home if you don’t think that’s… too much.”
hyun-ju hesitated, her gaze flickering between you and the receptionist.
in truth, she didn’t know what to think. she was exhausted, in pain, and desperate to leave. and then there was you—the girl who’d sat next to her, the one she couldn’t quite forget. you’d made her feel seen in a way she hadn’t felt in a long time.
“why?” she asked finally, her voice barely above a whisper.
you smiled gently. “why not?”
*
That’s how you ended up signing the dismissal form for a stranger and climbing into the back of an Uber with her. Hyun-ju sat stiffly beside you, her fingers fidgeting with the strap of her bag.
You sent a quick text to Ha-Neul: “I had to leave, sorry! Explain later 😘😘.”
As the car pulled away, you glanced at her. She looked out the window, her profile softened by the dim light. You weren’t sure why you’d offered to help. Maybe it was curiosity. Maybe it was something more.
And maybe, just maybe, this wasn’t the end of the story.

•••••••
February, 2024
They'd know beforehand that this situation could happen, yet when both their teams lost in the semifinals, it was hard to grasp the reality that one needed to beat the other in order to go to the Olympics in Paris.
Herself and Lena had played plenty of times against each other, with both their respective clubs and national teams.
However, this felt different.
Their previous international meetings had merely been friendlies in preparations for other competitive events like the World Cup a year prior.
This was for a spot at the Olympics.
Y/N had been at the previous edition in Tokyo with the Dutch team, where they had stranded in the quarterfinals against the United States on penalties.
Lena had never played at the Olympic Games, something she greatly wanted to achieve with her German teammates.
Both teams also wanted to redeem themselves after disappointing World Cup exits.
There were many things at stake.
Of course, headlines and articles had been made about how the couple was going to go head-to-head in a very important match for both sides.
Prior to their arrivals at the stadium, they hadn't seen each other for a few weeks. Lena played for Wolfsburg, while Y/N was a striker for Bayern Munich.
Although, Lena's upcoming transfer to Bayern would assure they would only have to miss each other during international breaks.
The young footballers had gotten together about a year prior, all credit to Lynn, Dom and Jill who had played matchmakers.
The distance was difficult at first, but they eventually found a nice balance. It sounded cliche, but communication really is the key to a good relationship.
Y/N was strolling around the pitch with her teammates when the German team appeared in the tunnel.
She didn't notice her girlfriend at first, too occupied in a conversation with Andries and Sherida.
It was Lynn, who so ''sweetly'' screamed for her best friend to ''get her ass over here'' that got her to excuse herself from the discussion with her captain and coach.
''Echte uitslover jij, waar was je nou weer over aan het lullen met hen?'' (''You're a real teacher's pet, what were you bullshitting about this time with them?'') Lynn teased her as she approached her, Lena, Jule and Lea.
Y/N sarcastically smiled at her fellow Dutchwoman. ''Jouw dikke kop!'' (''Your big head!'') She retorted, with Lynn playfully giving her a shove afterwards.
Her eyes lit up once she spotted Lena. Despite the tension of the upcoming match, seeing her face brought a sense of comfort amidst the nerves.
''Hey, everyone.'' Y/N moved to embrace Lea and Jule first, their proximity making them the easiest targets for her initial greetings. She let out an awkward chuckle as she made eye contact with her girlfriend again, but went in for the hug as well.
''Missed you.'' Lena whispered softly, her arms wrapping around her partner's waist in a comforting hold.
''Missed you too.'' Y/N replied, her voice equally gentle.
Their embrace was brief, acutely aware of the prying eyes of the photographers stationed around the field. It wasn't that they were afraid of showing public displays of affection, it was more the discomfort that came with the knowledge that every moment captured on camera would be scrutinized and analyzed by the media and fans alike.
They were far from being a secret- their relationship was an open secret among their teammates and the wider football community. Yet, the constant surveillance felt suffocating at times. So, when they could help it, they kept the PDA to a minimum, opting for subtle gestures and fleeting touches that spoke volumes in their own right.
''My mum and dad are coming tonight.'' Y/N said to Lena, the pair quickly disassociated to their own small bubble.
The German grinned. ''Yeah? That's nice, haven't seen them in a while.'' She replied, her tone warm and genuine.
Y/N nodded, a sense of anticipation building within her at the thought of her parents' arrival. She had a good relationship with her family, they'd been supportive of her love of football from the moment she started and went to almost every game if they could.
''My mum did make a small sign for you, cause she thought you might get upset with her.'' She playfully rolled her eyes at the recalling of her mother sending her a picture of the small poster that said 'Go Lena!'.
Lena chuckled at the mention of her girlfriend's mother's thoughtful gesture, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. ''That's very sweet, I can't wait to see it in person.''
''She's probably gonna want to take a picture of you with it, so you're warned beforehand.'' Y/N laughed, knowing her mother wanted photos of everything and everyone.
''I'll be sure to smile extra wide for the camera then, like this.'' Lena pretended to grin very big, showing off her teeth.
Y/N burst into laughter at her exaggerated pose, her eyes crinkling with amusement. ''Perfect, Obi! Exactly what she wants for a heartwarming photo.'' She teased, mimicking Lena's antics.
''Hey, you two,'' Lynn interrupted their moment, the entire group staring at the couple, ''the loser sleeps on the couch or what?'' The Dutch defender laughed.
Her national teammate mockingly rolled her eyes. ''Lynno, we don't even live in the same place. Idioot dat je bent.'' (''Idiot you are.'') Y/N responded.
Lynn chuckled in response, waving off her friend's playful insult with a dismissive gesture. ''Details, details,'' she replied, a mischievous twinkle in her eye, ''just make sure you've got that couch ready, wherever it may be.''
''I'm sure she has chosen a nice place.'' Lena retorted, chiming in on the banter.
Y/N's mouth gaped dramatically, and her eyes widened, exaggerating her reaction to the playful exchange. ''Actually, since you like breaking ankles, you can just sleep on the floor.''
Lena raised an eyebrow in mock surprise at her girlfriend's response, which drew another round of laughter from the group. ''Oh, I see how it is,'' she teased, ''floor it is, then. I'll bring my sleeping bag.'' She accepted.
She threw her arm around Lena at the feigned sadness over having to bring a sleeping bag, her pout being too cute to not fawn over.
It was a nice moment to have with the group, temporarily forgetting an important match would have to be played a few hours later.
There was a mixed atmosphere in the tunnel as both teams started gathering in a line, familiarizing themselves with their small mascots, who were all looking up at the players with wide-eyed excitement.
The Netherlands' usual captain, Sherida Spitse, had been forced to withdraw from the starting lineup due to a last-minute injury sustained during the warm-up. In her absence, Y/N found herself unexpectedly thrust into the role of captain for the crucial match.
As she entered the tunnel, the weight of the captain's armband felt both familiar and foreign at the same time. While she had stepped into the role of captain before, it had always been in moments of crisis, when Sherida was substituted during a match and Y/N was hastily given the band by one of their teammates.
It was not only a great moment for her, it would be one for her family as well. Though they weren't particularly patriotic, knowing that their daughter had been chosen by the entire Dutch team to lead them out for such an important match filled them with a sense of pride and honor.
Her usual spot in the line would be at the back, next to Lena. It had become almost routine for them to have a small chat before their matches, even when they were with Bayern and Wolfsburg, they were always the last players to enter the stadium.
Y/N held the pennant in her hands tight as she approached her girlfriend, careful to not make a big deal out of it since they were already filming the players as they waited for the officials to walk out.
A small pat on her arm was enough to grab Lena's attention, the German turning her head before a small, but nervous, smile broke out on her face once she noticed who it was.
''Hey, Captain.'' She grinned, her eyes briefly glancing towards where the armband was comfortably wrapped around her partner's bicep.
Y/N smirked once she noticed, but didn't say anything about it. ''Hi,'' she softly said, ''good match, alright? And please, don't break my ankles.'' She teased.
''No promises.'' Lena chuckled, playfully raising her eyebrow.
They shared a final glance before the striker made her way to the front of the line-up, only to be stopped by Dominique. ''Ze gaat sowieso je enkel breken.'' (''No doubt she's going to break your ankle.'') The Dutch defender said, a mischievous look in her eyes.
''Ik weet het.'' (''I know.'') Y/N sighed.
''Dom was right.'' The captain muttered under her breath as she was yet again taking to the ground by one of the German defenders.
It hadn't even been close to half-time yet and the Bayern Munich player had been assaulted from all sides. Funny enough, none of the challenges had been made by Lena- so far at least.
Danielle helped her get up from the ground, quickly checking in. ''I'm fine, Daan.'' Y/N reassured the older player, wiping her knees clean.
The first half proved to be eventful, yet no goals had been made by either side. The goalkeepers were making amazing saves, but both teams had also missed serious chances at scoring the opening goal.
Despite being deployed in Sherida's position as a defensive midfielder, Y/N managed to make an impact in the attacking third. She found herself with two golden opportunities to break the deadlock, however, luck was not on her side as both strikes rattled off the woodwork, denying her the chance to put her team ahead.
The opening minute of the second half was marked by a somewhat surprising moment:
Lena fouled Y/N.
The referee blew the whistle, signaling the late challenge made by the midfielder. Y/N, with a dramatic flair, collapsed to the ground, clutching her leg in feigned agony.
Recognizing the playful nature of the moment, Lena quickly understood that she was only hamming it up for the sake of a breather for her teammates and to ruin the Germans' momentum. However, she still bent down beside her girlfriend.
''You shouldn't go into acting anytime soon.'' Lena chuckled, briefly letting her hand caress over the part that 'allegedly' hurt so bad.
The captain let out a small smile. ''That's mean, you should get a yellow card for descent.''
The midfielder's eyes sparked with amusement as she helped her back up to her feet. ''Maybe later.'' She quipped, playfully nudging her girlfriend's shoulder before they resumed their positions on the field.
It didn't take too long for the fun to be over as Klara put in the first goal of the night, which had been assisted by Lena. About 10 minutes later, another Bayern teammate put one in the back of the net as Lea also got herself on the scoresheet.
As the game wore on, Y/N became increasingly determined to make a difference on the field. However, despite her best efforts, none of her attempts seemed to find the back of the net. Her teammates were not clinical enough, or the shots were deflected by the German defenders.
The more attacks she created, the more aggressive the fouls of the German grew on her.
They seemed determined to shut down Y/N's advances by any means necessary, resorting to increasingly rough challenges to disrupt her rhythm.
She managed to keep the ball from Nüsken, and send a pass to Esmee when a German player made a reckless tackle from behind, catching her off guard. The force of the challenge sent her crashing to the ground, a sharp pain shooting through her ankle.
A wave of concern washed over the stadium and the Dutch team as they watched their most vital player of the evening being abruptly taken out by Giulia.
People close to her rushed to her side, including Giulia who didn't have the intention to actually hurt her Bayern teammate. The referee swiftly intervened, issuing a yellow card.
''Shit, I'm sorry- didn't time it well.'' The midfielder apologized immediately, knowing right away it wasn't a great or necessary challenge.
Y/N made a gesture with her hand, which translated to ''it's okay, just give me space now,'' which Giulia understood, the pair having a great relationship at Bayern.
Lynn was the first of her teammates to reach her, shouting profanities at Giulia and the referee for letting the fouls on her best friend get to the point where she needed the medical team.
''Alles goed, meid?'' (''Everything okay, girlie?'') The Wolfsburg defender asked, concern etched on her face.
''Ik denk dat me enkel er elk moment gaat afvallen.'' (''I think my ankle is going to fall off at any moment.'') She sarcastically replied, rolling her eyes.
Lynn chuckled at her friend's attempt at humor, though the worry still lingered in her eyes. ''Ik hoop van niet, we hebben die nog nodig.'' (''I hope it doesn't, we still need it.'').
Meanwhile, the medical team arrived, quickly assessing Y/N's ankle to determine the extent of the injury. The other players quickly backed off so the staff could work in peace.
Lena noticed her club teammate's concerned expression and approached her quietly. ''How's she doing?'' She asked softly, her eyes flickering toward Y/N, whose ankle was covered in bruises.
Lynn sighed, her hand smoothing down her hair. ''I think she's trying to make it out as if she isn't bothered by it, but it's obvious it hurts- look at it, completely blue.'' The Dutchwoman motioned towards where one of the physios was icing her foot.
The midfielder nodded. ''I hope it's nothing too serious.'' She observed the way her partner was hissing at the way the staff was assessing her ankle, visibly agitated by the pain. She wished she could do more to help, but all she could do for now was offer her support from the sidelines.
The Dutch team held their breath as Y/N gingerly tested her weight on her injured ankle, her expression a mix of determination and discomfort. Every eye on the sideline was fixed on her, silently praying that she would be able to continue.
''As soon as the match is done, you're coming with us to the medical room. I'm surprised you can walk still.'' Their physiotherapist ordered her, glancing down at her iced and taped up ankle.
Andries sent her a thumbs up, asking if she was okay to continue. However, Y/N knew they had used up all their substitutes so there would be no use in forfeiting the game, so she confirmed with a nod that she would carry on.
She could walk on her own to the side of the pitch, though there was a limp in her step. The striker carefully jogged onto the grass as the referee gave her permission to join the match again.
A few tense minutes later, the shrill sound of the referee's whistle pierced the air, signaling the end of the match.
Amidst the disappointment of the Dutch team, the German players erupted into jubilant celebrations. They hugged each other tightly, their faces beaming with joy and relief as they reveled in their hard-earned victory.
The Oranje Leeuwinnen on the pitch dejectedly gave each other hugs and consolations, most with tears in their eyes.
Y/N had lowered herself onto the ice-cold grass, the throbbing pain in her ankle too much to bear. She winced as she cautiously propped herself up against the turf.
She suddenly felt two pairs of arms slip beneath hers, lifting her gently off the ground. Startled, she looked up to see Esmee and Kerstin, their expressions filled with concern as they looked at their captain.
''Kom op, meid,'' (''Come on, girl,') Kerstin gently said, ''je was echt een beest op dat middenveld.'' (''You really were a beast in the midfield.'') The Manchester City player chuckled, trying to lighten up the somber mood.
Esmee nodded in agreement, her grip firm yet gentle as she supported Y/N's weight. The two youngsters guided her towards the waiting medical staff, who had been watching the scene unfold from the sidelines.
Some of their teammates and staff patted their heads and ruffled their hair as they walked across the pitch, offering words of sweet nothingness.
With a reassuring nod from the physiotherapist, Esmee and Kerstin carefully lowered her onto the stretcher, ensuring she was comfortable before the medical team began to carry her inside the stadium for further examination.
The injured player could hear the applause from the bystanders, but it wasn't much solace as the pain and disappointment hit her like a truck. Unable to hold back her emotions any longer, Y/N felt a sob escape her lips, the sound muffled by her hands as she covered her face.
The staff of the Dutch team carrying the stretcher watched with downcast eyes, feeling for the young player who had literally given her body and soul this match.
After what seemed like an eternity of navigating the labyrinthine corridors of the stadium, they finally reached the treatment room. With practiced efficiency, they set to work assessing Y/N's injury, carefully removing her shoe and sock to examine her blue ankle.
As the physiotherapists administered treatment, taping up her ankle and applying ice packs to reduce the swelling, the striker remained silent, lost in her thoughts and emotions.
Once her ankle was securely taped and she was given the green light to proceed, Y/N wasted no time in making her way back to the pitch. The pain was barely noticeable anymore as she walked with quickness in her strides, simply wanting to be with her team.
Surprisingly, the German and Dutch players were still exchanging handshakes with one another, acknowledging each other's efforts or catching up with teammates.
The Dutch captain delicately walked onto the pitch again going for the officials who stood in the center of the big field. On her way there, she shook hands or gave hugs with either her national teammates or club teammates, each of them praising her performance of the night- though the striker didn't feel deserving of it.
With a firm handshake and a nod of acknowledgment, she greeted the officials. One of them had asked about her injury, but the player assured her that she was alright. With a suppressed smile, she turned away from them.
''Y/N…'' She heard a voice next to her, immediately recognizing whose it was.
The Dutch striker tried to beam the best she could, a strained grin plastered on her face. ''Hey.''
Lena hesitantly motioned for a hug, not confident in how to handle the situation. Her girlfriend nodded, opening her arms, and welcoming each other in an embrace in the center of the pitch.
''I know it doesn't look like I am, but I am very happy for you and the girls.'' Y/N mumbled into Lena's neck, her voice thick with emotion as she fought to hold back her tears.
The German midfielder brushed her fingers gently through her hair, a soft sigh escaping her lips. ''Danke,'' (''Thank you,'') she whispered in response, her voice quiet but filled with gratitude. ''I know you're happy for us, you don't need to say it.''
Their embrace lingered for a moment longer, each reluctant to let go. But eventually, they pulled back, their eyes meeting in a silent exchange.
''How's your ankle?'' Lena asked, discreetly peeking at her girlfriend's taped up ankle.
The Dutchwoman shrugged her shoulders. ''It's just very bruised, that's it,'' she dismissed, ''you played really well- nice assist, by the way.'' Y/N changed the subject, not wanting to linger on the topic of her physical well-being.
Lena's cheeks flushed at the compliment. ''Thank you. I meant to score, though.''
The German glanced around the stadium, scanning the crowd. ''Where are your parents sitting?'' She asked.
Y/N pointed towards a section of the stands where her parents were seated, their faces alight with pride and excitement as they waved to them from the crowd. The couple happily waved back at them, Lena lightly chuckling at the poster that her girlfriend's father hastily pulled out of his wife's bag, motioning it around for Lena to see.
''They're so sweet.'' She remarked, her voice filled with affection as she glanced back at Y/N. But as Lena turned her gaze back to her girlfriend, she noticed a sudden shift in her demeanor.
As Y/N watched her family in the stands, a flood of emotions washed over her. She felt a lump form in her throat as she took in the sight of them, their smiles radiating nothing but support for their daughter and her national team. However, it was once she glanced down at the fans around them, downed in orange decorations and clothing, that her true feelings about the outcome of the match came to the surface. The sea of orange seemed to mock her, a painful reminder of the missed opportunities and shattered dreams that had taken place tonight.
The team had fought tooth and nail to simply make it out of the group stages, the late drama at the match against Belgium had filled the squad with newfound confidence and resilience. They'd come so close to their ticket to the Olympics, it was practically in their hands before it had been taken away from them and ripped in millions of pieces.
She couldn't help but feel a sense of profound loss. The weight of the defeat lied heavily on her, feeling somewhat the most responsible for the defeat, as if she had been the only player on her team. Deep down, Y/N knew this was far from the truth- football was a team effort, and their loss was a collective outcome. But the pressure she had felt was immense, spurred on by the absence of key players like Jill, Victoria, and Vivianne.
In the eyes of the Dutch media, Y/N had been hailed as the team's ''saving angel,'' a title that now felt like a heavy burden on her shoulders. She had been the one to step up in critical moments, delivering crucial assists and last-minute goals that had propelled the Netherlands to victory in the past. But tonight, she couldn't replicate that success- something she feared she would be crucified for by the fans and pundits.
Lena's heart ached at the sight of her girlfriend's distress, the lines of worry etched into her brow as she struggled to maintain her composure.
With a gentle touch, she reached out to Y/N, her fingers lightly brushing against her arm as she offered silent support. Lena understood right away what she was thinking as she watched her observe the crowd, it's what she had felt at the World Cup, it's what she had felt when Wolfsburg were knocked out of the Champions League.
Utter and complete disappointment.
''Hey,'' Lena murmured, her voice barely above a whisper as she sought to break through the walls of self-doubt that surrounded Y/N, ''it's okay, you did well.'' She comforted as she pulled her into another embrace, her arms caressing the Dutchwoman's back.
Y/N buried her face against Lena's shoulder, her tears soaking into the fabric of her jersey as she clung to her girlfriend's warmth. ''I wanted it so badly,'' she admitted, ''and I played so fucking bad, missed so many sitters.''
It was frustrating for Lena to hear, especially since her partner was easily one of the best players on the field tonight, and was the sole reason the Netherlands were still in the game the entire match. ''Do you know how hard you made it for us? You kept taking the ball from me.'' She tried to convince her, her voice resolute.
Y/N sniffled, her breath hitching as she struggled to hold back her tears. ''But I could have- I should have done so much better.'' She lamented, her voice muffled against Lena's shoulder.
Lena pulled back slightly, cupping Y/N's face in her hands so she could look into her eyes. ''You did everything you could,'' the midfielder reassured her, her gaze unwavering, ''you were playing out of your position the entire time, you were constantly creating chances for yourself and for your teammates, you were my player of the match- and I'm not just saying that,'' she interrupted herself before her girlfriend could, ''you're a phenomenal player, and I was so proud watching you tonight.''
Y/N's eyes widened with surprise and disbelief at Lena's words. She had been so consumed by her own self-criticism that she hadn't realized how much her partner valued and appreciated her efforts on the field.
She wrapped her arms around her, giving a swift peck on the cheek. ''Love you.''
''Love you too.'' Lena reciprocated, landing a kiss on her girlfriend's cheek as well.
The Dutchwoman glanced to her side, seeing the German team starting to form a huddle with one another. ''Obi,'' she caught Lena's attention, signaling towards her teammates, ''go and celebrate, we'll talk tomorrow, alright?''
As Lena hesitated, Y/N gave her an encouraging smile. ''Seriously, go join them, you're going to Olympics, have fun with them. I'm gonna be mad if you don't.''
''Okay, but we face time tomorrow?'' The young midfielder asked, needing the reassurance.
Y/N chuckled softly, touched by her partner's concern. ''We will. Now go, and party- oh my God.''
With a final nod of understanding, Lena gave her girlfriend's hand a gentle squeeze before reluctantly turning to join the German team in their huddle.
As Y/N watched her disappear into the celebratory chaos, a bittersweet smile touched her lips. She could see her own team waiting for her, already standing in a circle.
She took the spot next to her best friend, as Lynn made space for her to join.
A slight grimace crossed her face as the entire team listened to Andries, prompting the defender next to her to furrow her eyebrows. ''Je enkel?'' (''Your ankle?'') She asked.
With a wry smile, Y/N shook her head. ''Nee, de rugpijn die ik ga hebben na het slapen op de grond.'' (''No, the back pain I'll be having after sleeping on the floor.'') She responded, a teasing smirk on her face.
lena requests are always welcome!

you and your girlfriend, alessia, had a love so pure, it was sickeningly sweet.
people may say that the term ‘soulmates’ is overused, but alessia russo was in fact your soulmate.
she was your better half, a true soul connection that is truly authentic and genuinely profound.
this girl had you wrapped around her finger and it was very much mirrored for you. the two of you would do anything for each other, without a second thought clouding your mind.
—
you and alessia met years ago in your youth, forming a close bond with the blonde unexpectedly.
alessia in her younger years was quite shy, finding it hard to put herself out there and make friends. whereas, you on the other hand, were outgoing, always the first person to approach when someone looked like they needed a friend.
and that’s what you did. when you and alessia joined the england youth football team, you watched as alessia, wide eyed and nerve ridden, clutched her training top in her hand, you’d been told to find a partner for warm ups.
and you, with your mischievous grin and kind eyes, walked over to alessia and nudged her with your shoulder. “i’m (y/n)” you whisper, alessia looks over at you in surprise, sending you a grateful smile, “i’m alessia” she whispers back.
“you have beautiful eyes, alessia” you grin, alessia cheeks fill with pink, looking down at the pitch with a little laugh before looking back up at you.
“you have a pretty smile” alessia breathes out, you smile brightly at her, offering her a piece of gum while you conversed, unbeknowingly becoming a part of your routine that lasted for years.
you and alessia navigated the ups and downs of childhood together, forming an unbreakable bond.
the more you talked and hung out, the more you realised how perfect you were for each other. and so, at 17, you and alessia started dating, you, as usual taking the lead that alessia was very grateful for.
“russo, i think it’s time we date” you say simply, causing alessia to choke on air while the two of you walked around the pitch. “what?” she mutters, her cheeks bright pink when you interlaced your fingers together.
“i really like you, lessi,” you say earnestly, giving her a charming smile that made her heart leap out of her chest.
“i really like you too” she breathes out, both of you now looking a little sheepish, giving little squeezes of your hands while you looked at each other.
that’s when alessia closed the gap and pulled you into a kiss, you gasp in surprise against her lips, your hand moving to cradle her cheek as you pulled her closer.
it was a little clumsy at first but you both quickly found a rhythm, feeling familiar yet foreign all at the same time.
alessia’s hand makes its way to your bicep, squeezing it gently and smiling against you. eventually when the two of you pulled apart, you both broke into little fits of giggles, resting your foreheads against each other as your breath intermingled with each other. the promise of forever lingering in the air.
everyone saw how genuine your connection was, you brought out alessia’s confidence, alessia brought out your calm side. a perfect balance working together in harmony. the amount of respect, love and admiration for each other never went unnoticed by the two of you.
—
you had always played at arsenal while alessia played at manchester united, ecstatic when she decided to transfer to be closer to you.
you’d always been a woso couple favourite, the amount of edits under both of your names were insane. it only grew as alessia transferred. but something that grew in small but visible amounts, was hate.
it was inevitable, you were both in the public eye and people could be truly awful when they wanted to be. you tried not to look at it but it was incredibly hard when it was directed at you.
alessia was perfect and you could say that with your chest, and everyone else thought that. so people loved to tell you that you weren’t good enough. you weren’t fit enough.
people claiming you were using the girl even though you both have incredibly successful, established careers that no one could deny.
but it didn’t matter, you were scrutinised by a very tiny amount of people but it had a large impact. you thought you would be used to it by now but these comments for some reason just stuck with you.
you stood in front of the mirror in your shared apartment, suddenly your daily training uniform feeling tight on your body.
no matter how you moved it, it didn’t feel right. your eyes welled with tears as your eyes took in your appearance. you felt awful. you shook it off, making your way to alessia who was currently preparing protein shakes for the car.
you snuck up behind her, wrapping your arms around her middle as your chin rested on her shoulder. she was always a little taller but it didn’t matter.
“hey, babe” alessia grins, leaning back into you, “hi, lessi baby” you kiss her shoulder sweetly. she flipped around in your embrace, kissing your lips gently a couple of times, making you giggle against her. she relishes at the sound, pecking the tip of your nose before ushering you to the car.
she drove with her hand gently squeezing your thigh before you both arrived. you were feeling fine up until then, but as soon as the two of you got into training, you felt off, the comments flashing in your mind.
alessia noticed a change in your behaviour. your usual confident and vibrant self was seemingly preoccupied. you trained with her like normal, giggling and chatting but your smile never fully reached your eyes, alessia knew you better than anyone, she could see you declining.
“hey, you okay?” alessia grabs your hand when you enter the change room after training, pulling you close to her before you tried to walk away.
“yeah, baby, i’m good” you smile, kissing her sweetly, she melts into you, kissing you back with a satisfied hum before she pulled away from you.
“don’t distract me, missy” she chuckles, pinching your cheek teasingly before she wrapped her arms around you.
she pulls you close, tucking your head under her chin as she gently swayed you from side to side. you lean further into her, feeling a lump in your throat growing, desperately hoping you don’t look like you’re going to cry.
“can we go home, please?” you say softly, alessia frowns a little at that, “‘course we can,” kissing your head tenderly before dragging you to your cubby.
she sits you down, helping you into one of her hoodies before helping you change from your boots.
“russo spoils you, (y/l/n)” katie teases, “you don’t deserve this little angel” katie laughs, you knew she meant well but it sent a knife to your heart.
you throw her a pathetic smile, looking down as alessia shooed katie away, smiling up at you reassuringly, kissing your knee gently before moving up.
she quickly packs your stuff away, as well as her own and quickly changing, claiming you both could shower at home.
she essentially dragged you out of the room, opening the door for you to her car, doing your seatbelt for you and kissing you sweetly before she went to her own side.
you really didn’t deserve her.
the whole ride home, you stared out of the window, only really contributing to conversation when necessary. alessia was truly worried at this point, but not wanting to push you.
she cautiously grabbed your hand and interlaced them together, worried you’d pull away but you tightened your grip. she sent you a smile even though you weren’t looking at her, so instead she kissed the back of your hand. letting you know she was there, like always.
you both got inside and you trudged to the bathroom, closing the door behind you. alessia’s heart broke a little, you’d usually shower together in times like this, but you didn’t want anything to do with alessia she felt. so she left you alone..sort of.
she placed her ear on the door when she didn’t hear the shower start, instead hearing a heart wrenching sob escaping your throat. she couldn’t handle it anymore.
“baby, open the door, please” alessia pleaded, your sobs not relenting, “(y/n/n), come on, love” alessia tries again, hearing you cry and feeling her heart breaking. she started to panic until she heard the door unlock, not wasting any time and making her way inside.
“hey, hey, hey” she coos, bending down to your level when she sees you cry on the floor, you can’t help but cry seeing her, her own tears streaming down her face when she saw you.
“what’s wrong, love?” she asked softly, wiping your tears from your cheeks with the pads of her thumbs.
you tried to open your mouth to speak but nothing came out, her hands made their way to the sides of your neck as she directed your eyes to hers.
“breathe, baby” her thumbs brush against the underside of your jaw, you try to mimick her breathing, little hiccups resulting from your sobs as you and alessia looked at each other tearfully.
she didn’t know why you were crying but all the pain you felt, she felt.
you both sat there for a second, just in silence with occasional sniffles feeling the room. alessia waited until you were ready, her patience unlimited when it comes to you.
“lessi” you choke out, “i’m here, i’m here, baby” alessia smiles sadly, moving to kiss your cheek gently, only making another teardrop from your duct.
“why, though? you shouldn’t be with me” you hiccup, her eyebrows furrow, looking at you confused, she tries to speak up but you cut her off, “alessia, you deserve so much better” you sniffle, alessia looks slightly furious.
“i don’t deserve better, i deserve you, you’re more than anything i deserve” she says sternly, “baby, what happened?” she tries again, “i hate my body, i hate the way i look, i hate that someone as perfect as you has to be seen with me” you sniff, alessia looks almost offended, her hands dropping from your face to grab your hands, both of you sitting on the floor.
“(y/n) (y/l/n)” she starts, “my baby, your beauty is out of this world” she says adoringly, “you’re absolutely gorgeous, you’re so kind, you’re so strong, you’re perfect” she smiles, moving one of her hand up to cradle your cheek again. “who put this stupid idea in you head?” alessia tucks a stray peice of hair behind your ear,
“online” you admit quietly, alessia had enough at that, she lifts you up off the floor, your legs wrapping around her waist as she carried you to the bedroom.
she placed you down with a sweet kiss to your forehead, standing behind you in front of the mirror. you shy your gaze away, looking down at the floor, unable to look at yourself.
“look up, my love” she whispers, kissing your temple as her hands held your hips. you exhale deeply before looking in the mirror, making eye contact with alessia through the mirror.
“i love your legs, they’re so strong, they’ve walked through challenges, through accomplishments. they let you walk to me, they let you run, they’re perfect” she whispers in your ear, a frown was still evident on your face so alessia continued.
“your waist, your hips, i love holding it whenever i can, i love feeling you breathing, knowing you’re with me,” she smiles, kissing your cheek, a little hint of a smile playing at your lips that had her brightening.
“next your arms, also very strong” she winks at you, making you huff out a little laugh, “whenever your arms are around me, i feel so safe, i love when you squeeze me when you get excited, they also have your hands attached and we know why i love your hands” she teases, you laugh at that, throwing your head back with a smile when she chuckles, placing a little kiss on your neck,
“i love your neck, i love your shoulders, i love your pretty face, your gorgeous eyes that light up when you get excited, and your smile” she breathes out,
“you know how much i love your smile, it brightens up the whole room, my beautiful, beautiful girl” she says a little tearfully. you turn around and just look up at her, “i love you” she says softly, that’s when you pull her into a bone crushing hug.
“i love you, i love you so much” you sniff, kissing her cheek repeatedly before burying your face into the base of her neck.
she hugs you tightly, relieved that you felt better, “don’t listen to any of the idiots online, baby” she says into your hair, her hands rubbing comforting circles over your (her) hoodie.
you nod into her skin, letting her drag you to the shower where she really showed you some appreciation about just how beautiful you are.
—
you’d finally woken up to yourself through the help of alessia, you’re absolutely gorgeous no matter what anyone says. it was a relief for everyone when you and alessia came to game day as loved up as ever.
as soon as alessia got out of the car, you latched onto her back, making the girl laugh brightly as she walked with you bumping into her every two seconds, attempting to keep your bodies close together.
“baby, i can’t walk” she laughs, “fine,” you huff, hopping onto her back, her hands instantly catch under your thighs as she smiles brightly when she feels you peck her cheek repeatedly as she walked you both into the emirates.
“lovebirds” leah teases, you wink at her and nod, making the older girl send you a playful grin as alessia continued to carry you into the change rooms.
you and alessia play exceptionally well, assisting her in a goal that had the crowd roaring. you bound over to her with a bright grin as she held her arms open to you, lifting you up triumphantly, feeling more proud about you rather than the goal.

The two of you shared a moment before you pulled away, finding the spark of tenderness in his eyes alarming. Despite the trust you just spoke of, it was still hard to lean into it without anxiety.
Others had shown you tenderness.
“So, you said you wanted to know my feelings right? Now that everything is on the table.” You glanced down at your drink, only for your eyes to flicker up when you thought he flinched- but his expression was the same, just a new tilt to his head.
“Right right. Though I think I understand already, Angel. We're growing on you aren't we? But you're scared? After the way your last unit handled things, I can understand that-”
You sighed when he trailed off. “But not entirely huh?” At his nod, you know it's your turn to indulge some personal information. “It was more than just a betrayal of comrades. I was close with them, considered them family. Mingi didn't… he didn't tell you all?”
He shook his head, his undivided attention on you now, listening with encouragement that was making this talk a bit easier. “He said a few choice things about Captain Chan but otherwise didn't go into details why his negative feelings were so strong. We assumed he just felt that strongly about you, considering he admitted to punching him and pretending to be your boyfriend during an altercation.” The corners of his lips turned up vaguely, which you assumed was due to your own flustered expression.
You were touched by Mingi's feelings, remembering his many attempts to prove he did like you and wanted you. As well as the fact that he hadn’t seemed to give up details about your harsh rejection, just how he had stepped in and played the rough hero you hadn't wanted but needed. “I see… I owe him an apology then. I assumed he had told you all about what happened.”
“Camera in the hall. We have Mingi bring women there because we can get surveillance footage of it all up to when He takes them inside. So… Yeosang indulged a bit and we didn't give Mingi a choice. Though he didn't go into details…”
You sighed, somewhat appeased. “Yunho made a comment… So I assumed.”
“Ah, Yunho is a different story. Those two tell each other everything. They grew up together. Would you be comfortable telling me?” It was the fact he was asking, putting your comfort first, that eased your nerves enough.
So you told him, recounting the story with a detached tone to make it easier on yourself. You told him of how you confessed to Chan supposedly, how the next time you saw him he served you with the transfer papers. You told him of your outburst immediately after, demanding the others to tell you who agreed you should transfer since Chan said it was a team decision. Minho, you're best friend had agreed and he hasn't contacted you. And then there was Felix.
That's how you were banned from contact because of the hell you raised. Changbin had to remove you from the office with some uniforms, an ugly sight. The man had no doubt sported a bruise or two on his face afterwards.
You told him about Felix, how you were sure you had loved him, and that you couldn't have faulted him for it. He thought he was looking out for you. Always sweet intentions.
You ended the story with the altercation in front of your apartment, playing with the empty beverage cup and unable to keep the emotion in your tone as you told him of Chan's confession before Mingi stepped in.
Silence followed, the air heavy and weighing down on your shoulders. The longer it lasted, the more anxious you became until you finally sparred a glance at him. After pouring your heart out, figuratively, pure undiluted anger was not what you expected to see on his face.
“Angel… I-” He started off, gaping like a fish as he seemed to struggle with what to say. The way his expression hardened like cold steel, eyes still burning with that ire as he glanced behind you, had you shifting to turn. “Don't turn around. You have some bad luck it seems.”
You were quite confused until you heard it, heard them. “Chan, that's not what I'm saying at all.”
“Then what are you implying Minho?” The sound of chairs scraping behind you slid up your spine like nails on a chalkboard. “First her, then Hyunjin, now Felix. I'm losing the hold on the unit.” The familiar gruff voice told you just how stressed he was, and you knew he hadn't been sleeping again.
Guilt grabbed at you as if this was your fault, hands bracing on the table to stand up and leave because like hell you wanted to stick around and listen to this. To let them hurt you even more.
Yet Seonghwa's hand reached out and grabbed your wrist, shaking your head and bringing a finger to his lips. Whatever game he wanted to play, while it confused you, your hands relaxed and you stayed silent.
“Hyunjin will come around, he always does, he cares for Felix and the rest. He made it no secret he was unhappy about the transfer. And Felix… he'll listen to you. You just have to talk to him- properly this time.” Minho urged, his voice closest to you.
“Because I do that so fucking well. You told me everything would work out if I put in the transfer request, Min. But why haven't you talked to her either?” A beat of silence. “Yes I'm aware you haven't reached out. Hyunjin was loud about that when I pushed Felix for answers. You're her best friend, why are you silent? Did you fuck this up on purpose? I trusted you when you said I could have her this way.”
Panic surged through you at this revelation; is this why Minho hadn't talked to you? Your whole transfer was his idea? Why? You had believed he had known you best, that he would have been on your side. That, just maybe, he hadn't talked to you because he was just giving you space?
This betrayal hit harder than Chan's.
“I thought she would understand. You received enough warnings about her, they were going to take action against the whole unit at that rate.” Minho sneered out, the edge in his tone snapping you out of the dizzying spell the pain had you under.
Chan scoffed. “Please, you didn't want her to get in the way of your career. I know the higher ups talk down on you, even when they are bad mouthing her they still recognize her drive. You were in her shadow and-”
Seonghwa slammed his hands on the table, standing up now. He glared at the two behind you with such a menacing fury it snapped you out of the spiral in your mind and gave him all of your undivided attention. Especially when he growled out your name.
He moved around the table and pulled you up by your waist. You were captivated by the wrath radiating off of him when you realized it was entirely on your behalf. “Vi-”
He shut you up with a harsh kiss, pulling you fully onto your feet with the motion. The sounds Chan and Minho made noticing your presence were distant noises to your own thoughts at Seonghwa's kiss. You could feel his anger, but also his desire for you with every harsh stroke of his lips. Heat flooded your body, drowning out the cold betrayal that had settled in the pit of your stomach a moment ago.
The groan he let out when you kissed back went right to your core. For a quick moment he deepened it, grip on your waist tightening enough to pull a moan out of your lips. It was that sound that had him pulling away, but only his lips to glare back at the other two. “Your trash, our treasure.”
It left you spinning, the emotion ringing in those words as he dragged you out of the cafe. You hadn't even bothered to look back at them, staring up at Seonghwa instead with a plethora of emotions on your open expression.
Seonghwa chuckled as he pulled you over to his motorbike; it was a dark and unhinged sound that added to the growing cotton in your head. He had just shown you how caring and sweet he could be: respectful even. And then the anger- you couldn't really untangle the mess of emotions that had you feeling, just that you didn't dislike it.
And there was a touch of horniness there. Well… that's interesting.
Seonghwa once more jostled you out of your thoughts as he lifted you up onto the bike facing him, stepping closer to slot himself between your open legs. You glanced up at him, once more with your thoughts and emotions worn on your features as you were still figuratively reeling. “Vice?”
“Call me by my name- no my nickname Angel.” He said as he leaned forward, pressing his lips to the apples of your cheeks, then the tip of your nose, forehead, and finally lips. “And tell me not to go in there and get violent.”
You couldn't help the gasp that left your lips, immediately getting swallowed by him in what felt like a desperate kiss. He had just told you he was a peacekeeper, a negotiator of sorts, so for him to say he wanted to be violent?
“Hwa-” It fell from your lips like a soft caress, your arms wrapping around his neck to pull him closer against you, “-Don't go in there and get violent.”
Despite doing what he said, he protested with a pout, lips trailing along your jaw to your neck. “Why not? They hurt you. Absolute scum. Treated you like trash when you're so… so much more than them. They lost a good fucking thing.” His angry words were paired with little bites and nibbles, grip tight on your ass now As he pressed the length of his torso against yours.
It warmed your heart, and turned you on even more. “Th-they deserve your anger, Hwa. Would rather- ah fuck- rather have you like this.” He had found your sweet spot, melting you further against him as his lips attacked it once more with a soft bite. “Hwa~ please I-”
Tugging at his hair to pull away, you tugged on it harder when you heard those two familiar voices calling out to you. He delatched himself from you, quickly turning you on the bike and pulling the helmet on. “Time to go.” Voice still gruff as he pulled his own helmet on.
He started up the bike just as the two reached you, this time you allowed yourself to look. Chan looked pale, distraught, tears in his eyes you weren't going to acknowledge. But Minho- it was the first time you saw him in nearly two months and he too looked ragged… and angry. But he always looked angry when he was upset about something, even if it wasn't you, so you didn't think about that either.
Instead, as the bike beneath you roared to life drowning their words, you gave them the bird as you latched onto Seonghwa’s waist with your other arm. He drove off in the next second, speeding through the streets to leave them both behind. Both literally and figuratively.
They weren't your unit anymore, especially those two.
Seonghwa dropped you off at the club soon enough, the bike still running as you got off and handed him the helmet. You used the ride to really think about what had happened, what Seonghwa proved to you.
You tapped on his helmet, asking him in a roundabout way to take it off. He shook his head in reply. So with a bit of a pout, you kissed the visor where you guessed his cheek would be. “Thank you for today Hwa. I appreciate it. You'll be picking me up?”
He nodded.
Smiling, you fixed your hair. “Then I'd like to continue later if we can.” With a wink you turned and headed inside.
Minho's betrayal felt like a distant memory now, wrapping yourself into work and looking forward to seeing the Vice-Captain again.
You had loved Chan, loved Felix, but neither of them, or anyone else you knew, made you feel like this.
Seen. Respected. Cared for. Supported. Wanted. All of that and genuinely.
Well, no one before this unit. Wooyoung popped up in your head. So did Hongjoong. San, Yeosang, and Mingi too, to an extent. There were moments with them all that had you feeling like this.
As if you weren't fully alone. In those moments you had felt like you could let your walls down, let them in, and feel loved and accepted as a whole.
Seonghwa had you feeling like that again when he picked you up, quiet on the ride back but once he was parked in front of your apartment again, he was a gentleman. He took your helmet off first, then his, and immediately pressed a kiss to your forehead. “Were you okay today Angel?”
You knew he wasn't talking about the work, but what happened. “Surprisingly… yeah. And I think that's because of you.”
His eyes went wide as he cupped your face, pupils shining in the lowlight from the street lamp. “What do you mean?”
Suddenly flustered, you tried to look away. Ah, feelings and admitting them: two things you struggled with. “I mean… the way you reacted, to what I told you and to them, was uh… oddly comforting? I didn't feel… well it's kinda like-”
He chuckled softly, placing a hand on the small of your back. “Take a moment to think about that but I think I know what you mean.”
“You do?” You looked up at him as he lead you inside, letting you put in the code before stepping in.
“Yeah. I uh, don't get along with my parents. Didn't follow in the family footsteps. It's a choice I made alone and it was scary, I didn't really have anyone who would understand my situation either… until I met Hongjoong. I told him about it, when I found out they are setting my sister up to be married off to, well, one of the underworld. He got angry, but not at me. It was the first time I saw him so furious as well.” He sighed, walking you up the stairs, taking his time to just talk with you.
You caught on to the vital piece of information he dropped, realizing that while Seonghwa’s parents had Golden Circle connections, he was working hard to take them down. He had something at stake here, making him the fourth- no fifth one in the unit who had some tie to the underworld.
Your vendetta against Taejin Hwon felt so small in comparison.
But you also noticed the fondness that settled over his features at the memories he brought up, an adorable curve to his lips and a soft light in his eyes at the mention of Hongjoong's anger specifically.
He cared for Hongjoong deeply, and you admired that about them; felt a bit jealous even.
“He was angry for me, because it hurt me, and it was the first time in a while I didn't feel so alone. It was comforting, and the weight on my shoulders was a little less debilitating.” Stopping in front of your door, he turned to you fully. “And it seems this was that moment for you… am I right?”
“Y-yeah. I mean I've had people get angry for me before, to an extent but this felt… different.” You couldn't meet his eyes, feeling unnaturally shy for once. Perhaps it was due to the amount of vulnerable moments you've had with him today; opening up in a way that took even Hyunjin a while to get out of you.
You couldn't forget Han and Felix, he'll even Changbin and the two younger ones- they all had moments you knew they genuinely cared. But this was different. Seonghwa, and this unit was different. You just couldn't put your finger on it.
“Talk with San tonight, maybe tell him what you told me?” Seonghwa offered, lifting your chin so you would meet his eyes again. “Can I have your permission to confide today with Hongjoong? Only the details you want told of course, I wouldn't-”
“You can tell him everything.” You blurted out, grasping onto the bravery and courage you usually had and pulling it to the surface. “I trust you Seonghwa, more than I'd like to admit right now but… if you trust Hongjoong enough you get all doe eyed when you talk about him, then I trust he is as trustworthy of this information as you are.”
Seonghwa blushed at that, a beautiful sight to behold, before he buried his reddening cheeks against your shoulder. “You are… truly a treasure.”
Now it was your turn to get flustered. “Hwa… will you come inside?”
“Want to… but can't.”
“Why not?” Your fingers carded through his hair, pout in your tone.
He hummed softly, leaning in closer. “Because if I come in right now I won't leave so easily. And I have somewhere to be before the sun rises.” When you whined again, he pressed a soft kiss to your collarbone before stepping back. “Sorry Angel.”
He left a moment later, and nearly an hour later you were calling up San while laying in bed, freshly showered.
“Finally! I thought you forgot about me sweetcheeks.” His voice in your ear had you flustered.
“I just needed a little extra courage to call. Are you doing okay?”
“I'm fine… Why the extra courage?”
“No reason in particular, just, wasn't ready to talk about what happened in the gym. Especially since I know they know.”
You heard him hiss, picturing him physically flinching at your words. “I'm sorry about that I-”
“It’s alright. I know it was Yeosang. I'll be talking to him later about it. For now. I miss you. Is it okay to just talk?”
And you did. You told him, surprisingly, everything. About Wooyoung, the job, Seonghwa, and of your old unit. He listened, even reacted much like Seonghwa did.
You felt it again. That sense you were loved, that you weren't alone… but this time you figured it out.
It felt like you were finally home.
And as San said, once again, you were perfect for them- You thought it went both ways. They were made for you.

There’s a hesitation to bring up times that Katsuma gets in trouble in school… which is more times than you’d could stomach. It wasn’t like Katsuma was necessarily a bad kid, just a kid with a temper for people that don’t think like him. You noticed his fathers attitude from infancy, but you’d hope Katsuma would grow out of it, but you were proven wrong when he’d be spending his 6th birthday transferring to another school for fighting.
“So he’s a punk?” The accusation is loud in Katsuki’s voice, and you want to stand up for your kid, because you’re a good mother and you’d be damned if Katsuki tries to argue differently—
“Why’d you get in a fight?” Katsuki notices his son hiding in the doorway where you and him sat in the living room.
Katsuma seemed ashamed to be caught, and the little boy couldn’t look at his parents.
“Don’t know,” he mumbled and it broke your heart.
“No,” Katsuki shook his head,” you know why kid. You’re making your mom stressed, you think that’s okay?”
Your attention snaps up to look at him but Katsuki has a hard look on his face.
“No,” Katsuma comes closer to you, eyes watering and bottom lip wobbling. “I love my mommy.”
Katsuki nodded, taking one of his hands. “I know you do bud, but you can’t keep getting kicked out of school. Your mom worked too hard to get you in the best school and seeing you fight makes her sad.”
Katsuma looks up at you, tears in his red eyes. “I’m sorry mama,” he whines before clutching to your chest as he cries.
You breathe out the breath you weren’t even aware you were holding.
“It’s okay baby, you’re still a good kid y’know?”
Katsuki wouldn’t admit it, but seeing you play such a nurturing mother warmed his heart— it made him love you— not that he could say that. Couldn’t let Katsuma see him as a softy.
“Yeah,” Katsuki looked at you, feeling Katsuma’s eyes on him, but he couldn’t look away at your beautiful face. “You’re mom did good with you.”
The compliment makes you blush, but also fixes any insecurities you had of Katsuki thinking you were a bad mother to your son.

world cup surprises | s.c.
steph catley x mccabe!reader | 3.8k | you propose to steph after the first match at the world cup
ˏˋ°•*⁀ this is part of the enchanted to meet you universe. it's fairly new but this is one of my favourite fics i've written and i really enjoyed writing it so i hope you all love it <3
You sat on the edge of the bed in your hotel room trying to calm your breathing. Your nerves were at an all time high and if anyone saw you they would think you were nervous for the match. Ireland’s first match at their first ever women's world cup. Being selected to be a part of the world cup squad was your dream come true and to experience it alongside your sister was even better.
Sure you were excited and nervous for the match that you were playing later today. The small box that you were currently fidgeting with was the main cause of your nerves. The moment you knew that Australia and Ireland were playing each other for the opening match of the world cup, you knew this was the right time.
You met Steph a few years ago through Katie. It was at a night out with the Arsenal girls, your sister invited you since you were going to be a new signing during the winter transfers. You and Steph instantly clicked. There were no awkward phases of friendship, the two of you genuinely looked like you had been close friends for years. That night out, you and Steph ended up separating from the others lost in your own conversation for hours.
From that night countless texts were sent back and forth until you moved to London, joining Arsenal and taking Steph out on a proper date. You fell hard and fast for Steph and luckily for you Steph had fallen for you just as fast and hard. To everyone else, you were a carbon copy of your older sister, but Steph got to see a different side to you. A side that you rarely showed to anyone. Steph had wormed her way into your heart and you would do anything for her and anything to protect her.
When you first shared your relationship with Steph online, there were a lot of people who didn’t think you were the right kind of person for her. Neither of you let in impact your relationship, Steph really knew you and in a way that no one online ever would know you. You were content with yourself and you knew that you would give her everything she deserves and so much more.
You’d had the ring for a while now, trying to find the perfect time to propose to her. But your schedules had both been hectic this last year and you never felt like any time was the right time. You wanted the proposal to be just as perfect as you thought Steph was.
‘I think I’m going to propose,’ You blurted out while you were watching a movie with Katie. Your words instantly got her attention, looking at you with her eyebrows raised slightly. It wasn’t a surprise that something like this would be coming for you and Steph, you were perfect together, ‘The first match, after that,’
Your sister could tell you were nervous. The two of you were quite close in age and having grown up so close and playing football together, she could tell these little things about you. Katie gave you a smile and a reassuring hand on your shoulder, ‘I’m happy for you. For you both. I’ve never seen a more perfect couple,’ You smiled at her words. Katie was the one person you were afraid to tell when you and Steph made things official. Even though there wasn’t much between you and Katie, to her you were still her baby sister and nobody had ever been good enough for you. Not until Steph, ‘Do you have any plans?’
‘Yeah,’ You nodded your head slightly. You had a few ideas but the one you really wanted to pull off, you were going to need the help of your teammates, ‘I’m going to need your help,’
‘It’s gonna be okay, as long as you don’t lose the ring,’ Katie’s hand on your shoulder brought you back to reality.
‘It’s gonna happen now that you’ve said it,’ You groaned, gently pushing her away. You’ve been overly protective over the ring. Holding it feels like it’s the only thing that is currently holding you together. Feeling so much, you felt like you might burst if you lost sight of the ring for a moment.
‘Relax, it’ll be perfect and Steph would be mad to say no,’ Katie sat down next to you, wrapping her arm around you, placing her other hand above yours to stop your fidgeting. Your sister always knew what you needed, whether you knew it or not, sometimes you think Katie knows you better than you know yourself.
‘Ooh, big proposal day,’ Grace poked her head into the room you were currently sharing with your sister, quickly moving towards you, ruffling your hair. You tried to move away but Katie held you tighter making you endure what you’d call torture from your friend, ‘Nervous?’
‘Grace,’ You whined, throwing your head back avoiding the question. The more you talked about it, the more you thought about it and the more nervous you got. Part of you wished that you had opted for a more quiet proposal instead of one that will be in front of thousands of people, but you knew this is the only way that felt right to propose. None of your other plans had stood out to you as much as this one had. You had a feeling that this way was the one, the same feelings you had about Steph the moment you got to know her.
‘Don’t worry, everything and everyone is ready and prepared. Just got to focus on the match first. C’mon,’ Grace pulled you up from your bed, you shoved the box with the ring in it into your pocket and followed your friend out of the hotel, meeting up with the rest of your national teammates.
As the match had gotten closer, you and Steph had talked less and less, both being busy with training and focusing on the world cup. You both had a silent agreement that you wanted to do the best while representing your countries so neither of you were upset with the lack of contact.
It made the moment you saw Steph while lining up in the tunnel all the more worth it. You were excited, your country's first world cup match that you get to be a part of, being a part of making history regardless of the outcomes. You’d gotten the chance to travel all the way to Australia for a world cup, something you thought you could only dream of, and your girlfriend was standing right there wearing the captain's armband and looking absolutely perfect.
Sure she was the captain of the opposition, but that would never stop you from admiring Steph, 7 was slowly becoming your favourite number. Steph turned around slowly, looking through Ireland’s lineup trying to see if you were there. Once her eyes met yours, her eyes softened and she instantly smiled, causing you to smile back at her. You silently wished her good luck which she returned.
‘Oi, stop eyeing your girl, she’s the opposition today,’ Macca nudged Steph lightly, a slight blush spread across her cheeks realising she’d been caught staring at you. Katie, keeping her eyes forward and seemingly focused on the match ahead, smirked slightly overhearing the interaction that happened next to her. Katie turned around to look at you down the line, discreetly holding her thumb up at you while smiling.
You’d had a few texts between you, Katie and Caitlin the last few days whenever the three of you could talk. You knew everything was all ready, you’d gone over everything a million times. Caitlin had reassured you countless times, along with your sister and teammates.
Your Arsenal teammates also knew, you regretted telling Kyra knowing she was the most likely to let it slip. But everything was going smoothly. You had to get through this match and then after the world cup you’ll hopefully be planning a wedding with the love of your life.
On the pitch you and Steph were very different compared to how you both act off the pitch. Mainly when you were on different teams, when you’re on the same team you didn’t have to act all that different. Though on different teams you had an understanding that you’d put your respective teams first and leave anything on the pitch, only if something really bad happened or either of you were insanely proud of the other, which happened a lot, would you bring it back off the pitch into your relationship.
It’s what you both did during the match. The handshake before the match, you both smiled at each other whispering good luck to the other before you focused on your own teams and the match ahead of you. It wasn’t the first time you’d played against each other and it probably wouldn’t be the last.
Though since your relationship sometimes you’d have a hard time forgetting that you weren’t on the same team, that you weren’t just here to support Steph and that you couldn’t cheer or hug her if she scored a goal or did something amazing. You knew you were going to get caught during this match when you had to check yourself knowing how big you smiled when Steph scored her penalty goal. Almost fully celebrating but luckily you stopped yourself before you made a fool of yourself in front of everyone.
You’d only be on the end of relentless teasing from your teammates, none of them would take it seriously knowing how in love you were with Steph. Though some of the fans might not have been so happy. After the match you could tell her how proud you were, so you focused on your team helping bring the energy back into your friends to get them through the rest of the match.
Unfortunately for you, Ireland had lost, you were proud of your team, of your country. The girls had played hard right up until the last minute, unfortunately, it just didn’t go your way tonight. You gave your teammates pats on the back, giving Katie a big hug, ‘Head up, we made it this far. It’s an amazing achievement to be here right now,’ As much as Katie was always there for you, you would always do the same for her. She might’ve been your big sister but you could take care of her as well, ‘on to the next one, have a feeling you’ll score our first world cup goal,’ You didn’t realise that would come true, you were just trying to cheer her up.
‘Go to Steph, we’ll start getting everything ready,’ Katie pushed you towards where Steph was with her teammates. You smiled, slowly walking her way. You liked seeing Steph happy, so even though it killed you to lose, seeing her smile made it all worth it.
‘Baby,’ Steph started when she saw you, but you wrapped your arms around her, picking Steph up and spinning her around before she could mutter how sorry she was that you lost. Right now you just wanted to celebrate your girlfriend, Steph who had scored Australia’s goal, you couldn’t be more proud of her.
‘Well done my love. I’m so so proud of you, always will be. You played so well, I almost cheered for you when you scored,’ Steph laughed at your confession. You were still holding Steph up when she cupped your cheeks, leaning in to kiss you. It was the first time you’d kissed her in a while and kissing Steph always made your head spin.
You smiled against her lips, placing her down but never breaking the kiss. Not until Steph pulled away and rested her head on your forehead, ‘Thank you baby. I love you so much,’ You’d never hidden your relationship, though you both were private, slowly opening up on your socials the more your relationship progressed, but you’d never shown this amount of affection on the pitch. Even matches with Arsenal all fans would ever get to see is the two of you hugging and sometimes they’d see how clingy the both of you could be with either other, constantly hanging off the other.
‘I love you more,’ You mumbled so only the two of you could hear. You took a step back from each other, but your hands were still on each other, not wanting to fully let the other go just yet.
‘Not a chance,’ Steph smiled, you got lost in her eyes, ‘I’m proud of you too darling. Glad I got to be here seeing your first world cup game. Even if it was against us it feels kind of written in the stars or I wouldn’t have been able to witness this achievement for you,’ You melted into Steph’s touch while she spoke. Your heart fluttered and you couldn’t control the smile or the blush that spread across your cheeks, kind of glad that you could blame the redness from running around for over 90 minutes, ‘I think this belongs to me, just like you,’
You took a deep breath while Steph tugged at your jersey, you knew exactly what she wanted and you’d never say no to her. So within an instant you’d taken off your jersey, handing it towards Steph while she gave you hers. You normally shared clothes but wearing her jersey was a different kind of feeling. Also seeing your last name on Steph lit a different kind of fire inside you. You might need to get Steph to wear your jersey when you’re both eventually back home together.
‘You look good with my last name on you. Need to get you to wear it next time,’ You whispered in Steph’s ear, placing a kiss right below, your teeth grazing lightly. Steph pushed you away, not forgetting all the eyes that were on your interactions, even more so now you swapped jerseys. But you didn’t miss the hitch in her breath or the slight red tinge to her cheeks, making you smirk.
‘One day I’ll get my last name on you,’ Steph was determined to switch the roles, but it didn’t have that same impact on you. Your smirk turned into a soft smile, hoping that one day will be one day soon if the next few moments go to plan.
‘C’mon lover girl, should go meet our fans,’ Caitlin came over and pulled Steph away from you, leading her towards an area where she would be completely distracted. Steph pouted lightly, she didn’t want to leave your side, especially since she hadn’t been able to properly see you in a while. But she knew it was important, and she loved the fans and meeting them all.
Caitlin looked over her shoulder at you, giving you a look, one that you knew meant that everything was going well. You turned around to see your sister frantically rushing around trying to get everyone and everything into place, just like you’d gone through with her. You’re grateful that the fans in the stadium, the ones that were left, kept quiet and didn’t make any kind of reaction to what was happening while Steph was distracted.
‘Here you go,’ Katie handed you the little box when you finally made your way over to her after helping to bring out all the heart balloons and roses out onto the pitch that would be surrounding you. You twirled the box around in your hand, going around and thanking everyone of your national teammates and Steph’s national teammates for everything they’ve done to help you with this.
After a final check that everything was in place and ready, you shoved the ring into the top of your sock and stood next to your sister, having to hold your hands together in front of you to stop them from shaking. All you could think about was smiling and breathing, as long as you could keep doing that then it’ll all be okay.
Caitlin discretely turned to look your way, you sent her a nervous thumbs up, silently letting her know that everything was ready and she could bring Steph over this way, ‘We should probably head back now,’ Steph rushed a few last signatures on jerseys before saying goodbye and turning around to walk back to the tunnel with Caitlin.
However, when Steph turned around she froze in place for a moment, ‘What is this?’ Steph whispered, looking at Caitlin who just smiled at her and nodded her head for Steph to move closer. Steph walked slowly while taking in her surroundings. The entire stadium was quiet but there was a buzzing in the air at what everyone thought was about to happen.
Steph stopped for a moment at the start of the rose petal path that had been made that led all the way to you. Roses and balloons surrounded you along with both your teammates and Steph’s teammates who were stood lining up on either side of the makeshift path. Steph started to walk down the pathway before she was handed a single rose that had a photo of you and Steph and a note attached to the stem. The photo was from the first day you and Steph met, along with the note reading ‘the day i met the love of my life, meeting you was the best thing to ever happen to me’.
The next flower, photo and note came from your teammate Grace. The photo was from the first date you ever asked Steph out on. It was summer and you’d taken her out on a picnic, you managed to capture the moment where the sun was shining just right across Steph’s face. The golden rays along with the smile you’d put on her face, Steph had no idea that this photo even existed. The note, ‘I love the way your nose scrunches when you smile. I plan on keeping that beautiful smile on your face for the rest of our lives’.
The entire way down the path, alternating between Steph’s teammates and yours, Steph was given a rose, note and photo. The photos going in order from the day you first met, going through the years to your most recent photo from the date you’d had right before leaving for your respective camps. Notes varying from the things you love about her to little memories you and Steph had created together over the years.
By the time Steph reached the end she had her arms full of roses, tears of happiness clouded her eyes and she didn’t know what to say or what to think. Steph felt like she was going to burst with the amount of love she was feeling for you at this moment. Her heart was racing, tears in her eyes, butterflies swarming her stomach.
‘I’ll keep these safe for you,’ Steph couldn’t tear her eyes away from you, barely registering when Katie came over to take the flowers from Steph so she could have her hands free before taking a step back and letting you and Steph have this moment.
‘Steph,’ You started, taking her hands in your own while smiling at her softly. You’d planned out what you were going to say but once your eyes met hers you couldn’t think properly, taking a few deep breaths before talking again, ‘From the moment I met you I was captivated. Not just by how beautiful you are, but from how smart, ambitious and hardworking you are. How gorgeous you are was definitely an added bonus,’ You both laughed a little which helped lessen your nerves, ‘I’m incredibly lucky that I got to know someone like you, that you let me get to know you and learn every little thing there is to know about you. Each day I fall more and more in love with you. I didn’t think I could fall for someone in this capacity but you proved me wrong,’
You had to take a moment, you could feel your own eyes start to fill up. Steph squeezed your hand reassuringly. It felt like it was just the two of you at this moment,’ I have loved you every single day since we met and I will continue to love you and treat you exactly how you deserve. Because baby, you deserve the world and so much more,’ You emphasised each word to make sure Steph could understand and feel how much love you have for her and how much she deserved everything you gave her, ‘I don’t let many people see me this soft, but for you it’s all worth it,’ You let go of Steph’s hands, reaching to grab the box before kneeling down onto one knee in front of her, ‘Steph, the love of my life, the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met. I would be so lucky and honoured to call you mine forever. My favourite forever, will you marry me?’
You really didn’t have a moment of doubt that Steph would say no, but that didn’t help calm the nerves after you asked the question. Steph was so caught up in the moment she almost forgot to answer, she just wanted to take it all in before the chaos that was sure to erupt after she said yes. But when she saw the light leave your eyes a little the longer Steph made you wait she instantly changed that, ‘Baby, yes. A million times yes,’
‘Yes?’ You asked, making sure you heard her right. Steph reached out for you, pulling you up and pulling your body into hers.
‘I’ve been dreaming of marrying you for so long,’ You were ecstatic, there were no words that could describe this feeling. You could win all the trophies and titles in the world but nothing would ever come close to this moment right here. Shakily, from the excitement, you managed to place the ring on Steph’s finger, giving it a little kiss once it was there.
Steph cupped your cheeks and placed her lips on yours. The kiss was deep and full of passion, your arms wrapped around her waist lifting Steph up and spinning her around. Neither of you could hear how the crowd or your friends all erupted into cheers, it was like a movie playing around you on mute. Nothing was more important to you than Steph and nothing was more important to Steph than you. Everyone was happy for you, nothing but support flooded your inboxes, messages and socials for days afterwards.
‘I love you so much,’ Steph whispered against your lips, hands finding their way around your neck, fingertips tracing over your back where her last name on her jersey you were wearing was sitting.
You smiled against Steph’s lips, leaning further into her touch, ‘I can’t wait to properly celebrate with you,’

“Mama!” You smile at the little blonde boy standing at your feet, and then scoop him into your arms and pepper light kisses all across his face as he dissolves into delighted giggles.
You have been a single mother for three years, or close enough to three years that the actual timing doesn't really matter. Your son is handsome, healthy, and strong.
He looks like his father, which is both a good thing since Rex is a very handsome man, and a bad thing, since Clones aren't allowed to have families. Your son's existence was enough to see Rex decommissioned, and you could never allow that to happen.
Which is why you finally accepted the transfer from Coruscant to Corellia. You gave up everything, and everyone, you've ever known simply to protect Rex, and your son.
You do feel bad about it. You didn't even get to tell Rex about Rin before you were on a ship heading to Corellia. Though, you did send him a message before you left Coruscant, apologizing for not telling him about your move in person.
He must have been furious. He never contacted you again after you sent the message, after all.
“Are you ready to head home, little man?” You ask as you settle his weight on your hip.
“Wanna play more!” Rin announces as he grabs a handful of your shirt.
“More?” You ask, your voice light, “But if we go home, we can have cookies.”
Rin's brow furrows, and then he grins, “Cookies!”
You grin right back at him and turn to leave the park, happily listening to his story about something that happened at daycare earlier that day.
And, several hours later, after Rin is bathed and has had his bedtime story read to him, and is safely tucked into his bed, you allow yourself to fall onto the couch, exhausted.
Being a single mom is hard.
Not having any support is hard.
But you wouldn't give up Rin for love or money.
You do wish that things could be a little different, Rin deserves to have a dad, but this is how the cookie crumbled and you have to make due with what you have.
You pull your hair out of the messy tail you've taken to wearing (you're so far removed from the party girl you used to be it isn't even funny), and sit up on the couch to pull your work laptop towards you.
You have some work you need to finish before you can wind down for the night.
And then your doorbell rings.
You release a heavy sigh, push your laptop to the side, and then head to the front door.
Corellia is pretty safe, all things considered. Safe enough that you don't bother to check the door camera before you open the door.
The last person you expect to come face to face with is the man on the other side of the door.
Sure, you told Rex that you were moving to Corellia. And you even sent him your address, but in almost three years he never even reached out to you. So seeing him, of all people, standing in front of your door is a genuine shock.
“...Rex?”
The severe expression on his face melts into something soft and fond, a look that he only ever directed towards you, so far as you're aware, and it's like no time has passed at all.
“Hey, cyare. Can I come in?”
“Of course,” You move to the side, “Sorry. It's been a long day. And…I didn't think I'd ever see you again.” You admit while shrugging a single shoulder.
Rex steps into your home, and you see his gaze flicker to the children's shoes sitting, almost neatly, on the shoe rack. To the little boy's backpack sitting on the bench by the front door, and then settling on the child sized jackets hanging on a hook that sits at the perfect height for a child.
He doesn't say anything though. You watch as he removes his armor, sitting the different pieces on the floor, and then enters deeper into your home.
Rex pauses when he comes to a wall of pictures, pictures of you and Rin, mostly, though there are a few of Rin and some friends from daycare, and you watch as he lifts a recent picture of the pair of you off the wall.
And then a heavy sigh falls from Rex. “He's mine?”
You could lie. You could tell him that Rin belongs to someone else, anyone else. It would be the smart thing to do, the safe thing.
But this is Rex.
“Yes.” You've never been able to lie to Rex, “His name is Rin. He loves dinosaurs and tookas and racecars.”
Rex hangs the picture back on the wall, and then turns to look at you, “Why didn't you tell me?”
“Clones aren't allowed to have families,” You say quietly, “If anyone found out about Rin, they would have killed you and taken him from me. I refused to let that happen.”
Rex looks pained for a moment, “You should have told me. We could have done this together.”
“I was going to. After he was born, after we were safe. But the more time I went without seeing you, the more risky it seemed.” You pause, “I'm sorry.”
“I understand why you did it.” Rex admits, “I'm not even mad about it. Disappointed, maybe. A little hurt, yeah. But I can't be mad about it. Not when you did all of this for our son.”
“I am sorry,” You repeat, “It was never my intention to cause you pain.”
Rex shakes his head, “How was the pregnancy? And the birth?”
You shrug, “Hard. Everything’s been really, really hard. Luckily, I got a raise when I transferred here, and it helped. He’s been in daycare since he was 6 months old.”
Rex turns to you and settles his hands on your shoulders, “But you’re healthy?”
“I am now, yeah. I was in the hospital for a bit after he was born, but time heals most wounds.” You flash a wry smile, “It’s not something I’ve been in a hurry to try again, though.”
His hands move from your shoulders to cup your face, and the softest sigh falls from you as you lean into his touch and your eyes flutter shut. How long has it been since someone touched you who wasn’t your own son? Years?
“You’ve had such a hard time, haven’t you?”
You open your eyes to meet his gaze. He looks so worried about you, you have to swallow the tears that threaten to choke you. “It was my choice.”
“That doesn’t mean it wasn’t hard.” Rex points out as he brushes the back of his fingers against your cheek. “You must be so tired.”
Slowly, you lean in and bump your forehead against his shoulder, “I’m so kriffing tired. All of the time.”
“Would you like some help?”
You pull back and stare at him, “I can’t ask you to stay.”
He smiles at you, soft and gentle, “I’m offering to stay. I want to get to know our son.”
“But—”
“You have to know that I was heartbroken when you left.” Rex interrupts, “This, us,” He moves his hands so that they’re resting at the base of your neck, “It was never just stress relief for me, and I know it’s the same for you.”
You feel your face heat, “How’d you know?”
He laughs and leans in to press his forehead against yours, “Do you think you can hide anything from me, cyare? You’re a terrible liar.” Slowly, as if giving you time to stop him, he leans in and brushes his lips against yours, “Can I stay?”
And, well, you’ve never been able to say no to him. “Of course.” You whisper, “For as long as you like.”
“Forever.” Rex murmurs, “I’m here now, and we can, finally, be a family. You don’t have to be alone anymore.”
For the first time in years, you think everything is going to be alright. You just hope that Rin likes Rex.

yes im changing
paige bueckers x reader
(paige x uconn psychology student!reader)
synopsis: with y/n being in a new environment, still facing rejection, how can she bounce back?
masterlist
chapter 1
“we regret to inform you that..” y/n’s eyes start to tear up as she reads her rejection letter from her dream school: stanford university. she plans to take psychology, and stanford is a perfect university for her growth. the dream started ever since she was born, as her father’s alma mater was stanford. y/n’s father died early, and she wanted to make him proud.
“no no no no no” y/n says in disbelief. how was she not accepted? a perfect gpa, and a 1500+ on her sat. she had good extracurriculars as well, being in the lab 24/7. her essay was proofread a thousand times as well.
the girl cried, rushing to her mom for comfort. “mom, i have bad news” she said. “oh honey, what is it?” the mom replied.
“i didn’t get into stanford, im so sorry” y/n teared up again, hugging her mom. “its okay, it just means that God has better plans for you in another schoool. im sure your dad is still so proud of you” y/n’s mom comforted her.
after a night full of cries, y/n looked at her options. she is always one to plan immediately. but this one will take her awhile, as college is well, college. she opened her laptop, with the screen showing her notes app stating:
stanford: rejected
upenn: waitlisted
lsu: accepted
iowa: accepted
sdsu: accepted
ucla: waitlisted
…
then a notification popped: uconn application results are out. her heart started pumping, she applied to uconn as it was near, and it was her mother’s alma mater.
she opened the site, with the screen saying:
CONGRATULATIONS!
y/n smiled with joy, and the smiled widened as the school is offering her a scholarship.
after a month, she weighed her options, and went to the different schools she was accepted in for a tour. she loved sdsu’s campus, and loved the school spirit of iowa. but she loved uconn the most. a calm campus, and a great school spirit as well.
she decided to go to uconn and major in psychology. a good school, near home, and a scholarship. it was her best option. but that isnt her end plan. she plans on reaching high during her freshman year, and transfer to stanford for sophomore year.
fast forward to her first day, which was full of orientations. during lunch, she bumped into another girl. they both said their “sorry”s and realized that they were both freshmans in psychology. the girl’s name was peyton, who accompanied y/n for the rest of the day. y/n knew that peyton will be a good friend.
as they go back to their dorms, they passed the building of the basketball court. “oh my goddd! do you know the women’s basketball team? i love them! i have a crush on one player” peyton mentioned. y/n wasn’t really fond of basketball. “no, not really..” y/n replied.
as they walk pass, the basketball team goes out of the building, still playing with a basketball. they played with the basketball a little too hard.. as the ball hit y/n’s head, making her fall down.
y/n was outrageous, who plays basketball just around? she got up and looked behind who threw the ball. she saw 5 people, 5 tall people, and got eye contact with a blonde who she assumed threw the ball.
“excuse me?”

I’ve been doing some thinking, and I would really like to see a “B shift” episode. Just like, Ravi and a bunch of firefighter characters we’ve never been introduced to. And the whole episode is just them NOT passing the “firefam bechdel” test, sp the whole episode is just them gossiping about our original fire fam and treating them like a live drama series.
“Oh yeah yeah Chimney! I know him. He’s the guy who survived the rebar through his head a couple of years ago.” “He what.”
“I mean, Eddie seems nice, but that’s only when he’s next to Buck. He’s terrifying otherwise. I heard he used to do underground fighting, and punched a guy so hard he almost died.” “Wait, Eddie Diaz? You sure? He pulled a double shift with me just last week and he was all smiley ranting about the Zoo trip he and Buck took his son on. I’d bet my money on them secretly dating btw. It would make all the sense.” “Whaaaat, no way! I thought they both had girlfriends?” “Did you ever actually see the girlfriends though?” “Huh. No.”
“Omg, Chimney’s wife and kids came by last week, they’re such a cute family.” “Wait, kids, plural?” “Yeah, looks like they adopted another girl!” “Oh no, that’s actually Hen’s daughter. She and her wife unreasonably lost their fostering licence, so Chimney and his wife took her in until it all gets sorted.” “What?? How close are those people?!” “Like, so close, dude.”
“I mean Bobby definitely plays favorites. I used to work with them on the A shift, but that sort of made me transfer to B shift. Nothing was wrong per say, but I just couldn’t figure out if Buck was actually his son or not? Because they’ve got different last names you know? And I didn’t want to ever be responsible if the Captain’s reckless son gets hurt on my watch.” “Oh no, Bobby’s definitely his dad. I think last name thing might be because of the first marriage? Buck probably just kept his mom’s maiden name, it’s not unheard of.”
“Did you know Hen completed med school?” “No, no, she dropped out. Decided it wasn’t for her or something.” “You sure? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen her do some crazy medical work in the field before.” “Yeah, she’s just like that.”
“My previous captain played poker with Buck once. Lost so much money that night.” “Really?! He doesn’t seem like a guy that can keep a poker face.”
“How do you not remember Jonah? He worked with us a couple times. He’s the guy who kidnapped Hen and Chimney.” “Oh yeaah. That was messed up.”
“Yo Ravi, you work with the A shift a lot more than us. Settle this for us: Buck and Eddie, dating or friends?” “Divorced.” “DIVORCED?” “Yeah, I think they might get back together soon though. They keep hanging out together, and I don’t think it’s just because of their kid.”
And every time they talk about someone from thw firefam, the scene cuts to that person doing some random stuff on their day off, maybe getting ready for a firefam get-together or sth. I just think it would be neat.

The Dojo Gojo Casa House
Hi guys, here’s a gojo x reader that I started writing months ago. The title literally gripped me by my neck and wouldn’t let go so gaze upon this monstrosity >:3
Satoru never played fair. That was a fact of life. But he also never cheated. It was unnecessary when everything he tried came like second nature. He was athletic, he was smart, he could sing, and he could charm himself out of just about any situation he wasn’t supposed to be in. It would have been fine if he was humble. More down to earth like Nanami or Shoko. But he wasn’t. He didn’t even have the decency to pretend like the world didn’t come to a halt the day he was born. He was cocky. He was brash, and he was fucking annoying to make matters worse. He picked a target and he wore them down until they weren’t any fun to play with anymore. Once Nanami had left the jujutsu world in pursuit of college you wish you had gone with him because Satoru was insufferable. You were only a second grade, you weren’t terribly strong and you knew that, but Satoru just needed to remind you any chance he could get. He’s always been insufferable, for as long as you can remember, every memory you’ve had of him revolved around him teasing someone. It was something he was known for; yet he still managed to get under your skin.
This job was stressful, anyone could tell you that. It’s why Shoko smoked a pack a day, why Suguru defected, and why Nanami had left. It wasn’t for the faint of heart, yet you ended up staying; persuaded by some fluffed up speech on how much good you would be doing. It was hard to see the good when you ended each day exhausted and crying in Shoko’s office about how awful it was. Everyone had their vices, and yours was staying even though it made you sick. The tears weren’t too bad, you had always been on the more sensitive side and it was cathartic really. Shoko never made you feel bad and if she was annoyed by your daily visits she didn’t show it. Maybe she was just happy enough to see a sorcerer retain their humanity. The only person who seemed to even acknowledge it was Satoru, appearing at the worst times when your eyes were still red and puffy and he would tease you. It wasn’t cruel in hindsight because Satoru wasn’t cruel per say, but he was insensitive. Cooing and pouting dramatically at your teary eyes, patting your head in a way so condescending you would have swung on him if infinity wasn’t in the way. You were pissed, your hands shaking and your face hot. His taunting words and sardonic laughter only seemed to bring a fresh set of tears to your eyes and you wanted to disappear. You were never getting out of this, where Satoru perceived weakness, he saw an opportunity to have his fun.
You were fucked.
“Cute,” he laughed, squishing your cheeks together; only laughing harder when you batted at his hands.
That was three years ago. Things have changed, the jujutsu world was busier than ever with the emergence of Sukuna’s vessel, even leading Nanami out of hiding and back to his death sentence. You’ve changed, spending the last two of these years teaching at the Kyoto school; only having been transferred back over to take over the second years while Satoru dealt with the Itadori case. Everyone seemed to mellow out, even Satoru. Being a teacher seems to have finally jump-started the part of his frontal lobe that produced empathy. He was calmer, almost nicer, in a way. He didn’t wear white bandages anymore, instead swapping them out for a black blindfold. It was nice. Things felt nice and almost complete in a way they haven’t for a very long time. You still chat with Shoko, but now you have Nanami to hang out with again; catching up on some four odd years and how you’ve both been doing.
Satoru still seemed to tail you but in a very different way. He was busier now, still taking on missions and teaching his classes, but wherever you were he didn’t seem to be far behind. Especially if Nanami was there.
“My two favorite Kouhai!” You hear yelled from down the hall. You groan letting your head slump against the table and Nanami sighs following suit, today was definitely not the day. Doing shots and getting ramen at 3 am seemed like a great idea: but god was hindsight twenty-twenty. Your head was pounding.
It didn’t take long for him to burst into the teacher’s lounge, only pausing when he saw the two of you face down. You heard it, if only for a second; but it made your blood run cold. That fucking laughter. You feel your stomach churn and you let out a shuddery breath, squeezing your eyes shut. You were not going to cry. You had been working on it these last few years. Challenging yourself, trying to find different outlets; but when it came to Satoru nobody could ever seem to win. You feel the lump in your throat and a hand on your shoulder.
“Oh?” His voice intones, sounding delighted. “Thought some time away would do you good, didn’t know you were still a crybaby.” You could hear him smirking.
“Gojo, I don’t think that comment is very appropriate.” Nanami says, his voice gravelly and warning.
“Lighten up,” Satoru chuckles, “I’m just teasing her.”
“You’re as incorrigible as I remember,” Nanami sighs, pulling his glasses off and rubbing his eyes. “They let you teach the youth?”
“Nanamin,” he coos, “Bold of you to assume I need permission to do anything.”
Scratch that, nothing has changed. He was just as annoying as he was in high school, and he’ll continue to be annoying until something strong enough crawls out of hell to kill him.
“Woah, calm down sweetheart,” he says, pulling his hand off of you, “I can feel you spiking, you wanna fight me or something?”
“Don’t,” Nanami warns, giving you a tired glare. He’s played this game before and he knows how it ends.
You did. You absolutely did. Even if it meant getting your ass blasted halfway across the dojo, if you could land even one punch you’d be satisfied. You lift your head up and turn to glare at him, ignoring the inertia of your hangover. Your eyes were watering in rage, and you could feel your heart racing and your cursed energy practically boiling below the surface.
His lips part a bit before they curl in into a smirk.
“Oh. You do wanna fight me.” He says. He bends down to sit on his haunches, even going as far to lift the blindfold up so you’re truly eye to eye.
“That’s cute,” he says, smiling in a way that seems dangerous. “You sure you’re not gonna cry if I hit you?”
“Go to hell.” You spit, you’re seething, this wasn’t good. He looks you over once, then twice, before laughing. That same laugh that made your stomach churn in a way you couldn’t describe. He reaches a hand forward, cold against your cheek wiping one of your tears.
“Oh sweetheart,” he whispers, rubbing the tear between his fingers. “You wouldn’t last a second. You’re weak.”
You snap. You’re bringing a hand forward to slap him but it’s grabbed in the blink of an eye, shoved back against your chest with a force that pushes the table. You could see Nanami out of the corner of your eye reaching for the nata, but he stops, because Satoru is laughing again.
“Really cute,” he laughs, “You’ve got balls, I’ll give you that.” He lets go of your hand and stands up stretching. “This was fun, I've gotta run though; the students should be done with their laps right about now. If you really wanna try that again, meet me in the training room after school.”
He’s just about out of the room before he shoots an eerie glance at Nanami. “And if you come, come alone.”
“What…the fuck was that?” You whisper, dropping your head into your hands. The adrenaline coursing through your body made you feel almost nauseous. You heard Nanami sigh and feel a hand on your shoulder.
“Is he gonna—”
“He wants to sleep with you.” He says bluntly.
What.
“What?” You say, almost ready to flip the table because nothing makes sense today. “He wants to beat my ass!”
“Beat? No.” He says, a hint of a smirk on his lips. “But as someone who was subjected to the boys dormitory, I am painfully aware of how Gojo-san flirts, it seems like nothing about him has changed.”
“What are you saying?” You say.
“I’m saying,” he says, fully sitting up, “He used to taunt Geto-san in a very similar way, he’s got a very… roundabout way of flirting. As juvenile as it is, this is him flirting. I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner.”
“You mean this is a pattern for him?” You groan.
“Once again, you weren’t subjected to the boys dormitory,” he says and shivers a bit. “Those fights in the courtyard took very interesting… turns.”
“He’s going to kill me,” you groan, rubbing your face.
“You’re going?” He asks, raising a brow. You can feel your cheeks heat up and you shake your head.
“I-I never said that!”
“You implied it.”
“Did not.”
“You did.”
“I did not!”
———————-
The day seemed to drag on as you waited for the clock to strike three. Maybe if you had been better distracted it would have flown by faster, but Satoru seemed to want you fired up long before your little meeting. He took your fucking students. Walked right into the classroom, and decided today was the day he wanted to take them on a day trip to Korea. The bastard didn’t even have the decency to ask if you wanted to go. Just waltzing in like he owned the place and poofing away with your kids. It makes your blood boil even hotter, because he knows the second years have state tests coming up soon. You couldn’t even remember the last time one of them has scored above a fifty, the highest score was Panda, and you couldn’t even document his work without looking insane.
So here you were, in the lounge with Ijichi going over reports because you weren’t salaried yet and you’d rather die than let Satoru keep you from a full day's pay. The poor man was practically shaking next to you, hoping you didn’t snap and test out your black flash on him. He wasn’t too far off either, you were wired, the knots in your stomach growing tighter each time you replayed the events of the day. You wouldn’t hurt him, intentionally; but you were seconds away from asking Yaga for a cursed corpse to blow off some steam.
The problem is, it wouldn’t even be satisfying. You only had one target in mind, and he was frolicking around doing God knows what in Korea. The clock struck three, and Satoru still hadn’t returned.
He didn’t show until almost six, you had already trained and warmed up; even going as far as sparring with Nanami to prepare yourself. You now owed him dinner and a bottle of brandy, but you felt ready.
Your blood was pumping and you felt alive.
Satoru waltzed in just like he had to your classroom, and you saw blue; all you could see was blue. His cursed energy illuminated the room which set to piss you off even further. There was no urgency in his steps, no sense of duty; he walked in like he was perusing the convenience store.
“Sorry,” he snickers, raising his hand in greeting. “Got a little carried away, forgive me?” A condescending pout plastered on his lips. You couldn’t believe what you were hearing.
“You’re sorry?” You breathe in disbelief.
“That’s what I said, isn’t it?” He says, stripping off his jacket revealing a shirt that had no business being so tight.
“You’re so fucking--” you say, cutting yourself off with a groan. “What the fuck is wrong with you? You don’t just leave people waiting--”
“You came alone,” he says, cutting you off. “Didn’t bring your bodyguard?”
“Bodyguard? What the fuck are you talking abou—”
“Please,” he scoffs, “Like Nanami-kun doesn’t trail you like a dog?”
“Oh so he’s the one trailing me?”you scoff. “Satoru, I can barely get away from you.”
He takes a step closer, his breath tickling your neck. “Yeah? So you’ve noticed, can’t get enough of you—”
“Oh give it a rest”You groan, taking a step back. “Flirt with the wall, are we gonna fight or what?”
He chuckles, taking a step forward. “You still wanna fight?”
“What else would I come here for?”you scoff, “You said if I was still up for it we would, so let’s fight”
“Let’s fight…”he chuckles, shaking his head. “Alright”
He takes a step forward, you can feel the cursed energy radiating off of him barely contained.
“I’ll raise you something better, sweetheart” he continues, flashing a pointed grin. “I’ll take this” he says, snapping his fingers and the aura of the room shifted; feeling lighter. “Off.” He was closer now, the gap between you two slim to nothing, you could feel his breath he was so close. Was it…? You reached forward tentatively and recoiled when you actually touched skin.
It was.
Infinity was off. He smirked, giving you a nod. “And, I’ll even let you strike first. I heard from a little birdie that you’re close contact”
“I don’t need your pity” you scoff, raising your hands. “Don’t hold back”
“Oh sweetheart,”he laughs. In the blink of an eye he was surging forward and your legs were kicked from underneath you. Before you could hit the ground he was right there to catch you.
“You won’t make it out alive if I actually fought you” he says, there was another surge and you were thumping your head against the mat while he stood over you, extending a hand. “and we need this pretty head attached that pretty body…y’know, in case we need backup”
“You’re such a bastard!—“you exclaim and yelp when he phases in front of you again, grabbing your hands and pinning them. This wasn’t fair, he was too fucking fast you could barely see him; trying to track him with your eyes made you sick.
“Fight with your hands, sweetheart”he goads, appearing behind you and pushing you to the floor, his foot on the small of your back. “Not your mouth”
Another flash of cursed energy and he’s crouched down in front of you, holding out his hand again. “Awww, already tired?”
You don’t take his hand instead swerving to kick his ankles, hoping that would take him down. He falters a bit to your elation, but you weren’t fast enough for the kill. You should’ve brought a cursed weapon, what the fuck were you thinking? The moment you’re on your feet you’re swept off of them again.
You’re panting, unable to even strike and spending most of your time on the defense avoiding his blows. He’s close again, right against your ear.
“Still want me to play fai-”
You crack your fist back instinctively, surprised when it actually makes contact with his jaw. Your heart was pounding in your ears, the adrenaline making your body tremble. You could barely breathe, every ounce of your being going into not ending up thrown across the room.
“Hah”he says, rubbing his jaw. “Cute. You call that little love tap a punch?”
“Stop calling me cute”You spit out through gritted teeth, gripping his arm and digging your nails in causing him to wince. If you couldn’t land another hit you surely weren’t going to let go.
“Get your fuckin claws out of me”he grunts, gripping your other arm so you’re both at a standstill.
“Stop calling me cute then,”you repeat, digging your nails in deeper; you’d break skin if you kept going, you kind of wanted to.
“Ah”he grunts, the pain turning into laughter. “Can’t I call it how I see it, baby?”
He grips your arm tighter to pull you closer. “So fucking cute”he says, his breath against your cheek. “The way you squirm…god”
“I fucking hate you”you seethe, trying to pull your arm away. His hands were so cold, but they felt nice against your skin.
“Do you?”he asks, “you fucking hate me?”he purrs, pulling you even closer. Your heart was beating out of your chest, the adrenaline churning in your stomach and making your knees weak.
“Yeah”you breathe. He pulls up his blindfold revealing those bright blue eyes that have your heart beating even faster.
“Then show me how much you hate me”he says, one last tug pulling you flush against his chest. You could feel his heart beating, and you couldn’t pinpoint why it felt surreal. Satoru was untouchable in a way that had him seen as less than human. To confirm he did in fact have a heartbeat throws your world on its axis again. The rhythmic thumping against his chest lulled you into a trance.
“Come on”he says again, his breath fanning over your head. “If you hate me so much then show me”
“Maybe you can’t?”he muses. “What is it? Tell me, I’m listening”
“I hate you”you repeat, your voice taking on a shaky tone.
“Aw baby”he coos, letting go of your arm to squish your cheeks. “This doesn’t feel like hate, now does it? You’re all over me”
“Let go of me!”you grunt, swinging blindly. Your heart was thumping rapidly and you could hardly breathe.
“Do you really want me to?”he asks, his touch light now, ready to back off if you gave him the word. And you couldn’t.
Time paused.
Did you really want him to?
Your breathing falters and your stomach churns as his lips turn up in a feral grin, his canines sharper than any person’s should be. You wanted to feel them against your throat. You could feel his cursed energy buzzing against your skin, it felt electric. His grip softened a bit and his eyes took on a lighter gaze.
“Really”he says, his voice low and serious in a way you’ve never heard. “Tell me to stop and I will. It’s all your call.”
Did you want him to stop?
One look in his eyes and you knew things would never be the same.
Thanks for reading the inner workings of my mind with this fucker. It’s not my best or even good but it’s honest work🥹
If you want a pt.2 with the actual smut lmk but it might take me seven to eight business months to finish.

Captains - Leah Williamson/Reader
part one | part two | part three | part four
prompt: What happens when Captain America and Captain England are roommates?
warnings: none
words: 4317
(Y/N) POV
“I am not rooming with her,” Williamson said as she pointed at me. I rolled my eyes at that. It was true, the two of us had not gotten off to a great start when I joined Arsenal... and we still hadn’t been able to get along even though I had already been playing with the club for nearly two years now. “No way. I’m not dealing with the bad accent. Or her bad attempt at mocking my accent.”
“Listen here, doll, I don’t want to deal with your bad fake southern accent either,” I drawled out. I had purposely thickened my southern drawl for her. “There is a reason why Captain America and Captain England never do room together.”
“I understand that you two don’t get along,” Jonas started out as Leah sent me a glare, “but you’re both the future of this club unless either of you plan on leaving. Do either of you plan on leaving?”
Both Leah and I shook our heads. I knew that Leah was a die-hard Gooner since she was a kid, but I had been as well. It was a dream come true getting to play with Arsenal and I wanted to put them on top.
“Well then, you’ll both have to room together because I can’t have you two at each others throats any longer. While you two have shown that you can be great captains on the national level, I need you to show me that you can put your differences aside off the pitch as well. Especially if you’re both going to be here for the long run.”
All Leah and I could do was watch as Jonas walked away from us. The two of us turned to each other as soon as Jonas went into his own room.
“Look, he’s right,” I said causing Leah to raise a brow. “We should be able to get along. I mean, we work great together on the pitch, so why can’t we off the pitch?”
“You’re doing it again.”
I furrowed my brow in confusion. I had no idea what Leah was talking about.
“You’re mocking my accent.”
I hadn’t even realized that my southern accent had dropped much less that I was copying her accent.
“You ever thought that maybe I’m not mocking it?” I suggested. Leah scoffed as she shook her head at me. “I’ve lived here for the better part of two years now. The only time I go home is during part of the off season and when I have national team duties. It isn’t a stretch to believe that my accent is going to start to change eventually.”
“‘It isn’t a stretch to believe that my accent is going to start to change eventually.’“
I rolled my eyes at her as I pushed past her and into the room that we were sharing. Leah followed me in as she tried talking with my accent.
“You talk too fast,” I said as I turned to face her once I threw my bags on the first bed. Leah paused as she tilted her head at me. “You talk too fast to get mocking my accent down. Slow down how you talk and drawl out your vowels. It’s how to get the drawl right.”
“Whatever.”
Leah pushed past me as she crossed her arms and rolled her eyes but took a seat on the other bed.
I shook my head as I stared at her. At least I was trying to be friendly. I made sure to grab my key for the room as I headed out. Even if I did have to room with Leah, I could at least spend my time around others who didn’t get upset with me for the slightest thing.
I ended up in front of the door that I knew was Beth and Viv’s room. I rocked myself on the balls of my feet as I waited for one fo them to answer the door. As soon as the door was opened, I pushed my way in.
“I can’t believe her. She seriously drives me mad,” I ranted as I paced in front of the beds. I didn’t pay attention as Viv joined Beth on the bed. “Who the hell does she think she is? I’ve been mostly nothing but nice to her since I transferred here two years ago and all I get in return is mocking? And when I give her some pointers on how to mock me better? An eye roll and a fucking pout. Is she a child?”
“Did Jonas bunk you and Leah together?”
I paused mid step to look over at Beth. I knew that I hadn’t said Leah’s name so I wasn’t sure how she knew that.
“Yeah. How’d you know?”
“You two are so blind to your own feelings about each other all you two ever do is rant about the other,” Beth said with a small shrug.
“I do not.”
“Yeah, you do,” Viv nodded. I shook my head at that because it wasn’t true. “She gets you with a clean tackle and you complain the whole day that it was a foul. You trip her up with your skills and she complains that you get in close enough to knock her off balance.”
“That’s a bullshit lie and she knows it,” I said as I pointed at Viv. “I don’t even touch her.”
“Point is you two talk about each other all the time,” Viv said. That couldn’t be true. “No, I’m serious. All the time.”
“Well it isn’t like I haven’t tried to be nice,” I shrugged. I had made efforts to get to know her. “Leah doesn’t care.”
“She’s had a crush on you since the World Cup,” Beth said. I rolled my eyes at that. It couldn’t be true because if it was then Leah had a funny way of showing it. “And then you were kind of a dick.”
“I was not.”
“You kind of were,” Viv agreed. I huffed at that. “You came over and claimed you would be the best to ever play for Arsenal for a long time. Not only that but everything had to be about you.”
“Everything was about me when I came over,” I pointed out. It was a true statement. Arsenal had fought hard to get me to join them especially since I had been looking to play with other clubs overseas as well. “Everyone has always talked about me as if I’m some savior wherever I go. And if I can’t live up to that? You don’t know what it’s like. To be a kid and be the reason why the national team lost, it isn’t easy especially when you were supposed to be the saving grace. So yeah, it is easier to just give in and embrace the attention and the narrative and then deal with the fallout.”
“You were also pretty harsh to Leah during practices,” Beth added.
“And now she’s an even better defender.”
“That’s not how everyone is always going to see your approach,” Beth said. I shook my head at that because it wasn’t anything personal against Leah, but I needed the best defense to practice against or else I couldn’t improve as much. “Look, all I’m saying is that, to Leah, you’ve always been the cocky American who thought she was better than everyone else.”
“I am better than pretty much everyone else though.”
“That’s the problem,” Viv said. I rolled my eyes at that. It was the truth. “You’re too cocky about it.”
“If I don’t have that, then what do I really have?” I asked. They didn’t get it. “The World Cup? I won it because I’m one of the best. My family? They’re all shit and they kicked me out because none of their kids will be gay and if you are then you ain’t part of the family. All I have is being the best.”
“You could be nicer about it,” Viv said. I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do because it wasn’t like I went around actively bragging about it. I just didn’t deny it. “I get it. Well, I don’t cause I hate exercise honestly, but you hold yourself to a higher standard. But you can’t hold everyone else to the same standard.”
“If you don’t want to be the best, then why are you playing?”
“They teach you that in the States?”
“No, Viv, my father drills it into each of our heads. Okay? All I have is being the best. That’s all I’m worth, so I have to make myself worth it.”
“That’s not all your worth.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I don’t?” Beth asked. “I’ve seen you. You’ve worked with people who really need help. You think we wouldn’t notice that you took on a building project to build homes for people in need? You’ve gone and worked with kids who can’t afford club training. You’re more than just some football player.”
“Then why does no one else see me as more than ‘just some football player’?”
Beth went silent at that. It was also very true. I hadn’t been shy in raising money for charities or even going to help out when I could. I tried to put on as many free football clinics as I could and help where I could. But no one ever talked about that.
“You know how many people I run into that only see me as an athlete and not more? Everyone.” I shook my head. They just didn’t understand. “I went and helped feed those in need and asked one of the other workers if she wanted to go out sometime. She told me yes and then on the date all she tried to talk to me about was soccer. No one, outside of my national teammates could even tell me what my favorite color is.”
“It’s blue,” Viv said. I turned my gaze over to her. “It’s like a deep dark blue.”
“It’s forest green.”
“Okay, so we’re shit teammates.”
“You’re not shit teammates because you don’t know my favorite color, Viv,” I denied. None of them were bad teammates. Just because we weren’t friends outside of the club didn’t make them bad teammates. “But I ask you guys to come and hang out and those of you who do show up don’t try to get to know me. I get left alone to my own devices while the rest of you just invade my apartment to spend time with everyone but me.”
“We do care about you,” Beth said.
“No one said congrats when I won bronze at the Olympics, or when I won the golden boot, or when I won the Ballon D’or,” I pointed out. I hadn’t even received any texts from my teammates. “No one ever said it in person or over texts or anything on social media.”
“Your national teammates did,” Beth said.
“None of you did. The first thing I got asked when I went to the November camp and the first thing I get asked after the first game against Germany? How did I celebrate with my Arsenal teammates,” I explained. I shook my head at that. “I had to lie to them about that, but hey I don’t expect any of you to know that because I doubt any of you even watch my national games.”
“Do you watch ours?” Beth asked.
“Every single game. I congratulated you guys on social media and praised you guys when you won,” I said as I sent her a soft glare. “If I can’t catch them live, I record them.”
“You do?” Viv asked.
“Yeah, I do,” I nodded. Was it really that hard to believe that I was interested in my own teammates performances? “And I’ve made public comments about your performances. All praising them because you’re all amazing players.”
“You left Leah out of the post you made about the Euros,” Beth said softly.
“I took pictures with you and the others. Leah didn’t want a picture with me. That’s not on me,” I shook my head. “And I said congrats to all of my Arsenal teammates.”
“Well, Leah took it the wrong way.”
“Then that’s on her.”
“You should still probably have an actual talk with her. I mean, the rest of us get that you aren’t just some cocky asshole,” Beth shrugged. “But that doesn’t mean that Leah does.”
“And why should I? I’m not exactly craving the desire to get close to someone just to have them kick me out of their life.”
“(Y/N), do you want her to like you or not?”
“You don’t get it, people don’t like me. They tolerate me until I’m not worth anything anymore and then they leave,” I said. I didn’t miss how Beth and Viv shared a look between themselves. “I’m not the only one here. I’m not the only one who needs to make an effort.”
With that, I headed out. Even if I didn’t want to go back to my room, I could at least go hang out in the lobby.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Here,” Leah said as she held out a bag to me. “It might have been brought to my attention that I should extend an olive branch and it shouldn’t be entirely up to you to make the effort.”
“Is it gonna kill me?”
Leah laughed as she shook her head. I hesitantly opened the bag.
“Viv might have told me that your favorite color was forest green.”
“You got me a hoodie?”
“You kept talking about how your old one was getting really old and it had holes in it and that it was mostly worn out,” Leah shrugged.
“So Beth and Viv told you what we talked about?” I asked.
“Well, not all of it,” Leah said. I looked away from her as I held onto the hoodie. “They really just said that I was kind of being an ass and that you aren’t always some cocky American. Which I’m not sure about that, but I figure that the least I could do was extend the olive branch.”
“I appreciate it,” I assured her. Leah softly smiled at me before I pulled the hoodie over my head. “So, how’s it look?”
“Not bad,” Leah said. I grinned at that. “It’d look better on me, but it doesn’t look the worst on you.”
I shook my head at that.
“And you can’t even compliment me.”
“Only in your dreams, (Y/L/N).”
“Oh, trust me, we do a lot more than compliment each other in my dreams,” I muttered under my breath.
“What was that?”
“Nothing to worry that pretty little head about, Williamson.”
“You think my head’s pretty?”
I only shrugged as I got up. I didn’t mind as Leah followed me continuing to ask me if I thought she was pretty or not as I headed up to our room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I groaned as someone knocked on my front door. I really didn’t want to get up. Besides, I hadn’t been expecting anyone since it was already so late at night. Plus, I had training in the morning, and I wanted to get in early so I could get some extra skills work in.
Maybe the person would just go away if I didn’t answer.
The knocking echoed through my house meaning that they were going away. I sighed as I pulled myself up from my couch where I had a random game playing on the TV. Once I got to the door, I pulled it open to.
“What the hell are you doing?” I asked as I grabbed onto the blonde’s arm as I pulled in her inside my house.
“I-I don’t... I mean, I didn’t... I’m an idiot.”
“You’re not an idiot, Leah. However, you are soaking wet, so stay here.”
Leah nodded as I turned and headed to the bathroom. I opened the cabinet under the sink before pulling out a couple of towels. I walked back out to the door before giving one to Leah before I bent down to start wiping up the water that was on my floors.
Leah eventually pulled off her shoes and left them next to the door as I stood up. She was still running the towel over her hair trying to dry it off.
“You should probably get a warm shower,” I said. Leah looked over at me before slowly nodding. “Come on, you can use my shower. I don’t have any shampoo or conditioner or body wash in the guest bathrooms.”
Leah followed me as I headed through the house to my room. I let her into my bathroom before pulling out some fresh towels and sitting them on the sink.
“I’ll leave some clothes for you on my bed. You can throw your clothes into the wash when you get out.”
Leah nodded at that as she wiped at her eyes. It was obvious to me that she had been crying, but I definitely wasn’t going to point that out to her. I closed the door behind me as I exited the bathroom. I went through my dresser and closet before pulling out a pair of my sweatpants and a hoodie for Leah. I also left a pair of my socks on the bed with them. I threw a couple of different packages of unopened underwear and sports bras on the bed for Leah as well.
I immediately headed to my kitchen. I had a feeling that Leah might want some comfort food after all. It was a while as I made a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches as well as some crispy potato bites.
“I didn’t know you could cook.”
I glanced over my shoulder as I grinned at Leah.
“Don’t worry, it’s nothing too fancy. Or too southern for Captain England,” I said as I plated the food and placed it in front of Leah. “Besides I was pretty much on my own at a young age, so I had to learn if I wanted to eat.”
Leah looked down at the plate in front of her before hesitantly lifted the top part of the sandwich.
“Those are obviously potatoes.”
“Obviously.”
“But what the fuck is this?”
“That? That? That is the best grilled cheese you will ever have.”
“This is not a grilled cheese.”
“That is not a grilled cheese. It is the grilled cheese,” I assured Leah. I motioned to the sandwich. “Feta cheese, spinach, bacon, and mac and cheese. It will be the best grilled cheese you have ever had.”
Leah raised an eyebrow, but she picked up the sandwich. I grinned as she took a bite from the sandwich before her eyes widened. I grabbed a plate for myself as I put my sandwich on it and some potatoes.
“That is really good.”
“I told you.”
We both fell into silence as we ate on the sandwiches and potatoes.
“So, is there a reason you showed up outside of my house soaking wet?” I asked, finally breaking the silence.
Leah stayed quiet as she picked at her potatoes. I sighed as I nodded my head at that. I truly hadn’t expected that she answer me, but it would have been nice to know why Leah had suddenly turned up.
“Jordan and I got into a fight,” Leah admitted. I raised my head to look at her. “I think it’s over between us. For good.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
I nodded at that. I knew how rough a breakup could be especially when you lived with your partner and you were the one being blindsided by it.
“You can stay here for as long as you want.”
“(Y/N), I couldn’t impose-”
“You wouldn’t be imposing. Not really,” I assured her. I motioned to the space around us in the kitchen. “It’s a big house.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.”
Leah nodded as she went back to picking at her potatoes.
“Don’t worry about your clothes. We can go pick them up tomorrow. And I’m assuming your car,” I said. Leah looked back up at me and I only shrugged. “I assume you ran here considering you were soaking wet.”
“I just had to get out of there,” Leah admitted. I softly smiled at her. “I didn’t think about grabbing my car.”
“If you were that upset, it was probably best that you didn’t drive.”
“Why are you being so nice to me? I mean, we aren’t exactly friends.”
“Because there was a time in my life when I was alone and I had nowhere to go, and I refuse to turn someone I care about away like I had been.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You know, you’re going to have to cook for me more often now,” Leah said as she took another bite from her breakfast burger.
“It’s just a burger with bacon, egg, and cheese,” I pointed out. Leah rolled her eyes at me. “I mean, I don’t mind having someone to cook for. It’s just that it’s something simple to make that you could probably make it in your sleep. Well, so long as you can make a good burger.”
The two of us fell into silence as we both ate on the sandwiches that I had brought for us.
“You didn’t have to let me sleep in your bed last night,” Leah said as I went to take a bite from my burger. I paused as looked over at her. “I would have been fine on the couch.”
“Trust me, I’ve fallen asleep on the couch more times that I wish to admit. I’m quite used to it. I think I’ve slept more nights on my couch than I have in my bed,” I admitted. Leah raised an eyebrow at that. “Being in such a big house can be lonely sometimes. I don’t like having a TV in my room, so I fall asleep on the couch watching TV so it isn’t so quiet at nights.”
“Have you never had a TV in your room?” Leah asked. I shook my head. “Something else the States taught you?”
“No, not the States,” I denied. Leah tilted her head to the side. I glanced at the clock on my dashboard, we still had a little bit before training was supposed to start. “My... father. My siblings and I weren’t allowed to have TVs in our rooms growing up. We were only allowed to watch stuff approved by him too, so I’ve never exactly been too into movies and shows. So getting a TV for my room when I moved here seemed silly since I didn’t care for any shows.”
“That actually sounds kind of sad.”
“It’s just how he is.”
It didn’t bother me anymore. I guess you couldn’t really miss what you never had.
“What you said last night...”
I turned to look out my window. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Leah knowing about my past. Sure I had told Beth and Viv, but that was different. I didn’t care if they looked at me like I was messed up because of my past. I wasn’t sure if I wanted Leah to look at me that way.
“My parents and I... we had a falling out when I was a teenager. I had scholarships pulled because of how unstable everything in my life was, and every single one of my friends showed their true colors,” I admitted. I scratched the back of my head as I wasn’t sure just how much to tell Leah. “I was homeless for a little bit since I was supposed to leave for college. Then my Stanford scholarship got pulled because false reports about me were made. I immediately made it known that I was looking into going pro rather than college. My reputation was pretty damaged though. I was put on probation with the national team.”
“I... didn’t know that.”
“Most people don’t. All they see are the fancy awards and trophies.”
“I’m sorry it’s like that.”
I shrugged at that. I had grown used to it by now. Besides, there wasn’t anything anyone could really do about it.
“So the big house?”
“Just playing into the narrative, I guess? I decided somewhere along the way that if I was going to be painted as some selfish bad guy, that I could at least enjoy the stuff I was supposed to while I was still helping others.”
“Isn’t it lonely?”
“Sometimes. But that’s what teammates are for. They’re my found family. I’ll always have my national teammates. And I hope that Arsenal is going to be my home for a long time.”
Leah nodded at that. I glanced at the clock on my dash again.
“We should probably go in,” I said, causing Leah to look at the clock before she nodded in agreement. “Don’t want to be late.”
We both got out fo my car before heading in. Both of us still eating on our breakfast burgers. I wasn’t too surprised at everyone who was already in the locker room. I moved away from Leah as I moved to join Beth and Viv who were sitting near Viv’s locker. The two forwards were glancing between Leah and I as I dropped my bag in my locker.
“Hey, isn’t that your hoodie?” Beth asked. I looked over at her before looking over my shoulder at Leah. She was still in the hoodie I had left out for her last night. “The one that Leah gave you?”
“And you both came in together?”
“It’s a long story,” I shrugged. I turned back to my bag. “And it’s not mine to really tell. If Leah wants to tell you, she will.”
“I told you that Captain England and Captain America would get together.”
I rolled my eyes at that because we definitely weren’t together, but maybe this was a start to something that could be more than friends.
Indigo [3]
A woman who tries to escape her past with no hope for the future, ends up on an unknown place playing childhood games to win. A man from her past happens to be there for the exact same reason. Will they escape their haunted pasts? Or they will end up dying in vain?
Warnings: heavy language, violence, depression, death
A/N: Frontman’s wife didn’t have a name so I named her! (flashbacks are written a bit differently!)
3.
The knock at my door startled me, the sound jolting through the quiet chaos of my room. I rushed to answer, the weight of my exhaustion following me to the threshold.
"Girl, you have to stop studying until this hour. Thank God you've got me to look after you!" Yoon-suh stood there, a bag of food in her hands. She gave me a mock scolding look before pushing the bag into mine. "I figured you'd forget to eat, so I brought reinforcements."
I blinked, the unexpected gesture momentarily disarming me. "You really came all this way... for this?"
"Well, not just this." Her voice softened as she stepped inside and sat on the edge of my bed. The air shifted before she even spoke again. "I'm leaving. The day after tomorrow."
The words hit me like a slap. I stared at her, frozen, then slowly sank down beside her. "You what?" My voice cracked with disbelief.
"I'm so sorry, Lyanna. I wanted to tell you earlier, but... everything happened so fast."
"But why?" My chest tightened as frustration bubbled up. "We said we'd spend half the year together before... before anything like this!"
"I know," she said, her tone tinged with guilt. "But there's been a change of plans. Family stuff. I'm heading back to Korea to finish my last year of high school. It's better for me. I miss home so much."
Her hand slid over mine, warm and steady. But I couldn't steady the ache growing in my chest. Yoon-suh wasn't just my best friend; she was my anchor. The first person I trusted. And now she was leaving.
"Don't worry, silly," she said, her voice teasing to lighten the mood. "We've got it all figured out. This time next year, we'll be in Seoul, celebrating your acceptance into university."
"Yeah, if I even pass..." I muttered, looking down at the scuffed floor.
"Shush! I said what I said." She squeezed my hand, her smile radiating pure confidence. "Don't get all melancholic at seventeen. What'll you do when you're thirty-five?"
I laughed—barely.
"Ly, you're the smartest person I know," she said, her tone more serious now. "If they don't pick you, then who will? You're meant for this."
Before I could respond, she pulled me up and wrapped her arms around me in one of her signature hugs. Tight, unshakable, like she could transfer her confidence to me.
"I'll see you in Seoul soon," she whispered, her voice soft but firm.
I clung to her, the words heavy in my throat. "I'll miss you..."
She stepped back and looked at me, her expression full of certainty. "I always miss you when I'm not with you, Ly."
And just like that, she was gone, leaving behind the lingering scent of kimchi stew and the bittersweet warmth of her words.
They were now in the main room, sitting on the cold, hard floor. Silence clung to the air, suffocating and relentless. Most of them were trembling, some crying quietly, holding their knees to their chests like lost children. She sat next to Gi-Hun and the man who had saved him, directly across from Sang-Woo. Since the game ended, no one had spoken; they just stared at the ground, as if looking up would force them to face the reality of their survival.
"Sang-Woo..." Gi-Hun finally broke the silence. "Thank you." He turned to the other man. "You two saved my life..."
Sang-Woo had saved her too, but she didn't say a word. She didn't want to talk to him. At least... not now.
"I'm glad you're alive," answered the man beside Gi-Hun, his voice heavy with sincerity.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, the pink-suited soldiers entered the room. Those bastards. The man with the ddakji. She hated them all now. Every single one. If she could, she would kill them, make them feel even a fraction of the terror they had inflicted on her and everyone else.
"Congratulations on making it through the first game," the square-masked soldier said, his voice devoid of emotion. "Here are the results. Out of 456 players, 255 players were eliminated. 201 players have completed the first game."
Gasps echoed across the room. Two hundred and fifty-five people dead... for nothing? For a stupid game? These were human beings with lives, families, dreams. And they were slaughtered during a game?
A woman stumbled to the center of the room and screamed, "Sir! Forgive me! I will pay off my debts no matter what. I will pay back at all costs..." She collapsed to her knees, sobbing. "I have... a child. I haven't even named my baby yet, so I couldn't register the baby's birth. Please, let me live!"
Her cries sparked a chain reaction. Others joined her, begging and pleading with the soldiers for their right to live. Lyanna stood still, watching them, her stomach twisting.
"There must be a misunderstanding," the square-masked man continued, unfazed. "We are not here to harm you or collect your debts. Let me remind you: we are presenting you with an opportunity."
"An opportunity? You call this an opportunity?" a man shouted, his voice filled with rage. "You make us play a children's game, then kill us. How is this an opportunity?"
"We may be in debt, but that doesn't mean we deserve to die!"
"This is just a game," the square soldier explained. "They were eliminated for breaking the rules of the game. As long as you follow the rules, you will safely exit this place with the promised prize money."
Chaos erupted as the players shouted and demanded to leave. Fear and anger swirled in the room like a storm.
She thought about the clauses they'd agreed to before this nightmare began.
"Clause One: A player is not allowed to voluntarily quit the games."
But no one cared. They threatened to call the police, their desperation rising. The square guard fired a shot into the air, silencing the room instantly. Everyone dropped to their knees except for her and Sang-Woo.
"Clause Two," the soldier continued, his voice calm but chilling, "A player who refuses to play will be eliminated."
Yeah, but what about Clause Three? She remembered it clearly.
In the suffocating silence, Sang-Woo's voice rang out. "Clause Three of the consent form: The games may be terminated upon a majority vote. Is that correct?" He stepped forward.
Classic Sang-Woo, always paying attention to the rules. She remembered the clause too but said nothing, clinging to the sliver of hope it offered.
"That is correct," the soldier said.
"Then let us take a vote. If the majority wishes to quit, you will have to let us go."
"As you wish," the square soldier agreed. "But before we vote... we will reveal the prize amount from the first game."
A giant piggy bank descended from the ceiling, and stacks of money tumbled into it. Her eyes, along with everyone else's, were drawn upward, watching the bloodstained cash fall like a cruel rain.
"Each player is worth 100 million won," the soldier announced. "A current total of 25.5 billion won has been accumulated in the piggy bank. If you quit the games now, the 25.5 billion won will be sent to the families of the eliminated players—100 million each. However, all of you will return home empty-handed."
Her stomach churned. 25.5 billion. Enough not just to pay off her debts but to leave this wretched country behind. To start fresh somewhere far away.
The begging woman spoke again. "Excuse me, if we make it through all six games... how much do we get?"
"There are 456 players," the soldier said. "The total is 45.6 billion won."
The announcement hung in the air like a spell. The vote began. They brought out a large box with two buttons: green for "Yes" to continue and red for "No" to quit.
The players stepped forward one by one. Gi-Hun voted first: red. No.
Then 453: green. Yes.
The votes came in, one after another. Red was leading until Sang-Woo.
Green. Yes.
Her jaw tightened. What the hell was he thinking? He had invoked Clause Three, given them hope and now he chose money over survival? She wanted to scream at him, but she didn't.
The votes continued. Green started winning. Tensions escalated as players argued and shouted, their desperation consuming them.
Finally, it was her turn. She felt Sang-Woo's eyes on her. She always could. For a moment, she hesitated. This could be her second chance, her escape. Or it could send her straight to her death.
Red. No.
Her vote tied the numbers.
The final vote came down to Player 001, the elderly man. He pressed the red button.
The "No's" had it.
Cheers erupted from those who wanted to leave, but she didn't join them. She stood motionless, her thoughts spiraling. What could her life have been with that money? Gi-Hun shook her arm, snapping her back to reality.
"If the majority of you wish to participate again," the square soldier warned, "we will resume the games. Goodbye, then."
Smoke filled the room before she could process his words. It clawed at her senses, dragging her into unconsciousness.
The next time she opened her eyes, she was half-naked, lying in the middle of a street with an eye mask on. The cold bit into her skin as disorientation clouded her mind.
"Fuck. Can someone untie me?" she groaned, wriggling against the bindings on her wrists.
"Lyanna?"
That voice. From all the people, it had to be him?
"Yes, it's me. Can you reach me?" she asked, her voice edged with frustration.
"Me too, sir, if you can!" came another voice, the man who had saved Gi-Hun earlier.
Sang-Woo freed her first, handing her clothes back with averted eyes, his movements respectful. She dressed quickly as he worked on untying the other man.
Why was he suddenly so considerate? Hours ago, he was ready to gamble with their lives in a death game.
"Sir, where are we?" the other man asked as he rubbed his freed wrists.
Sang-Woo glanced around, his sharp eyes scanning their surroundings. "Yeouido."
"Where exactly is Yeouido?"
"In the center of Seoul," Sang-Woo replied curtly.
"Do you have a phone, sir? Or miss? I want to make one call. Just one."
"Let me..." she offered, fumbling for her phone. She groaned. "Shit, I have no battery. Could my day get any worse?"
Sang-Woo pulled out his phone, but it refused to turn on. Of course.
While Sang-Woo headed into a local store to fix his phone, she and the other man sat near the corner, eating steaming bowls of ramyeon. The food did little to warm the cold knot in her chest.
Sang-Woo gave his phone to the man and he went to the other side of the store to speak. It was just the two of them now, her and Sang-Woo, after years apart. She tried not to look at him, but her resolve wavered. Finally, she glanced his way, only to find him already staring.
They held each other's gaze in silence, unspoken words thick in the air. She broke first, finishing her food in a rush and stepping outside. She couldn't handle it, not after years of trying to bury the past.
But he followed her. He lit a cigarette, the small glow a weak beacon in the dim night. It was their old habit. Whenever life fell apart, they'd share a smoke or ten, inhaling poison like it might cure the ache.
"Thank you, sir." the other man said, bowing politely. "Goodbye to both of you!"
"Wait," Sang-Woo called out, his voice firm. "Do you have money for the bus?"
"Sorry?"
"You said you live in Ansan. You couldn't even pay for the ramyeon. Do you have money for the bus?"
"I don't have money. I'll walk."
"There's no way you can walk all the way there. Forget about it!" she said, reaching for her wallet.
But Sang-Woo was faster. "Wait a bit and then take the bus." He handed the man some cash.
"I can't. I have no money. I can't pay you back."
"I won't ask you to. Just take it."
She stared at Sang-Woo, stunned. The kindness in his gesture reminded her of the man she used to know. The one who always wanted to help, even when he was drowning in his own mess. Why now? Why with a stranger?
"Thank you, sir!"
"I'm not your sir. Stop calling me that..."
"I'm sorry. Thank you."
"Take care." she said quietly as the man walked away, clutching the money like it was salvation.
She turned to Sang-Woo, her steps hesitant.
"You've changed..." he said after a while.
"You haven't," she shot back, a little too sharp.
That made him stop. He turned to face her, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Haven't I?"
She met his gaze, refusing to back down. "The Sang-Woo I knew wouldn't have risked his life for money. At least the old one."
"And the Lyanna I knew wouldn't have let herself get in debt." he countered, his voice low.
Her breath hitched. He wasn't wrong, but the words stung anyway. She looked away, biting the inside of her cheek to keep her emotions in check.
"I had no choice," she murmured.
"Neither did I." he stopped talking for a while. They kept walking, the distance between them shrinking with every step. The night air was cool against her skin, but she felt flushed, her chest tight with emotions she couldn't name.
"Where do you live?" he finally asked.
"I didn't move." she answered.
"Do you want me to take you home?"
"I think I remember how to walk now, thanks."
"I'm talking about your safety."
"Why do you care?" She stopped and stared at him, her voice sharp. That question hit him harder than he expected. He opened his mouth to answer, but she cut him off. "You saved me in the game. And I'm grateful, but why?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Sang-Woo..."
"It's too late for this conversation. Maybe another day..."
"Another day? What another day? In prison? At our funerals? When?"
Her words stabbed at him, and he stopped in his tracks.
"Why are you in debt, Lyanna? You were the most logical person I knew. What were you doing in the games in general?"
"I don't wanna talk about it."
"Fine. Neither do I."
"Always stubborn, aren't you?"
He stopped again and turned to face her. The frustration in his voice gave way to something softer, something more vulnerable. "Seriously? Stubborn? I asked if you wanted help. You don't? That's fine. Let's just go back to our miserable lives. Don't tell me anything about it. It's not like we'll meet again..."
"Yoon-Suh was sick. Very sick. And with a child," she admitted, her tone serious. "In-Ho didn't have the money, and we all searched for a way. One day, he disappeared. We couldn't reach him, and her condition got worse. I panicked and got scammed because I tried to find the moeny to save her. I lost both my best friend and all the money I had. That happened one year after you left."
Sang-Woo felt like the ground had shifted beneath him, his expression unreadable. She was alone. For years, she'd faced loss after loss, with no one to comfort her, no one to share the burden.
"I'm sorry," he said softly.
"Sorry doesn't fix anything, but its my miserable life anyway..."
He hesitated, then reached out, his hand hovering near hers. She stared at it, her breath catching in her throat. "I know," he said. "But it's all I have."
For a moment, she considered pulling away, letting the distance between them grow again. But then her hand moved, almost of its own accord, brushing against his.
It was such a small thing, barely a touch, but it felt like a lifeline.
They stood there in the middle of the empty street, the city lights casting a soft glow around them. Neither of them spoke, the silence between them filled with everything they couldn't say.
"So I guess our paths end here?" he hated the sound of it.
She would curse herself later for asking this but had no choice. She couldn't walk home alone in the dead of night. "Would you... would you mind walking home with me?"
And that's what they did. The two of them retraced a familiar path, the same one they'd walked together so many times, fifteen years ago.
The city lights flickered overhead, casting long shadows. They didn't speak again, the silence between them filled with memories and regret. Sang-Woo carried the weight of changing her true colors ever since he left her, how he failed her, while she clung to the dreams she'd never have.
As they approached her building, she paused, turning to face him. "Thanks for walking me home," she said, her voice quieter now.
He nodded, his expression unreadable. "Anytime."
She hesitated, then reached out, placing a hand on his arm. "Sang-Woo... I mean it. Thank you."
He looked down at her hand, then back up at her, his eyes dark and searching. "Take care of yourself, Lyanna."
"You too," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
As she stepped inside, she glanced back one last time. He was still there, watching her, his figure framed by the dim light of the streetlamp. The weight of her words pressed down on him, heavier than ever, thinking if this was really their last meeting ever, or maybe a second chance for a ruined past.
My father had died. Six days later, the results of my exams came in.
I couldn't get out of bed. My world felt like it had caved in, swallowing every shred of energy I had left. The house was silent, empty, and cold. There was no one to take care of me, no one to take care of the house. But I had to know. This was supposed to be my way out, my one chance to climb out of this suffocating darkness.
With trembling hands, I forced myself up and dragged my feet to the mailbox outside the house. My breath fogged in the cold air, and for a moment, I just stood there, staring at the box as if it were some joke.
Among the condolences and formal letters offering pity, I saw it—a thick envelope, the kind that screamed "good news."
I held it in my hands, my heartbeat racing.
University of Seoul.
I tore it open, barely able to breathe.
I got in.
I fucking got in.
My knees buckled, but I managed to stumble back into the house, clutching the letter like a lifeline. The tears welled up before I could stop them, but I didn't care. My fingers fumbled to pick up the phone, and I dialed the number that had been etched into my heart since I was seven.
"I GOT IN!" I screamed, my voice cracking.
"YOU ACTUALLY DID?" Yoon-Suh's voice erupted from the other end, her excitement spilling over in a flurry of joyous words. "I KNEW you could! Oh my god, Lyanna, I'm so happy for you. I'll finally see you again—I'm so, so proud!"
She was crying. I could hear it in the way her voice wavered, in the way she tried to steady herself.
"Start packing and come here as soon as you can," she continued, her words rushing out as though she couldn't say them fast enough. "You're perfect—your Korean is flawless, you're the perfect student, and now you've got the perfect opportunity. Forget everything there. You'll make a new start. You'll see, you'll fall in love with Seoul."
"I can't even talk—" My voice caught in my throat. "I just—I just wanted to tell you as soon as I read it."
"See you soon, love!" she said, her laughter mixing with her tears, and then the line went dead.
I stood there for a moment, the phone still pressed to my ear, as the reality began to sink in.
I was finally making my dream come true.
University. A new start. Opportunities. Seoul—a city Yoon-Suh had painted in my mind like a living dream since we were children. A language I'd poured myself into learning because I'd wanted to be there, to live there, ever since she came into my life.
But then my gaze fell on the stack of condolence letters I'd left on the table.
And I remembered.
I remembered how much my father had wanted to see me in university. How he had believed in me, supported me. How, in his last days, I had been too busy—too consumed by studying—to be with him.
The letter crumpled in my hands as a sob tore through my chest.
I cried for him, for the loss that would never stop aching. But amid the grief, a small, fragile seed of happiness bloomed.
This dream was his dream too.
And I promised myself I wouldn't let it slip away.
Summary: AU no ghostface, takes place when they're in college
Warnings: none really
WC: 5.7k
Authors Note: don't really know where I was going with this one but I hope y'all enjoy :) sorry for any mistakes. Also kinda added some parts from one of my favorite shows :D
Everyone had been intimidated when they first saw you. You had transferred a few days late in the semester. Only by three days. When you had walked into the film study major class. The moment you stepped into the class you heard how quiet it got. You didn't want to take this class but it was either this class or a literature class. Your dad had wanted one class to be of his choice. You hated it but then again he was helping you pay for college.
You stood at 6'2 an athletic built from all your high school years playing basketball. Your dad had wanted you to continue playing but you had different plans. It was one of the reasons why he was so mad that he put you in a the film class. In a way to punish you.
But he wouldn't understand. After what happened, you couldn't go back to basketball. It was the main reason why, what happened to you last year happened.
Everyone looked your way but you kept a blank face. Giving a nod when professor motioned you to sit down. You felt the eyes on the back of your head but ignored everyone while you took your laptop out to take notes.
Ignoring the whispers that you heard.
*
You kept to yourself. At a very young age you've always been tall and a lot of people found that intimidating. It was even worse now that you had muscle. Anyone was too intimidated to come up to you. Until some guy sat down across from you. Though you did not want to be bothered but you were sitting at a table in the quad. You were able to get a table to yourself. The quad wasn't as crowded as you thought it'd be but there were still a few people around. Some empty tables. Which is why you didn't understand why this frat boy sat in front of you.
"Never seen you around sweetheart. Your freakishly tall but I can dig that. The name is Frankie. How about I show you around, could show you the Frankie train after if you want as well." He smirked at you, his overly inflated ego was what irked you.
"Oh you're mute? That's cool. Can't really say no then can you?" You looked at him with your face blank, but memories of what happened last year flashed though your mind. He reached forward but you gripped his and twisted it, your other hand reaching forward and slamming his head on the table extra hard for what he said. He yelped like a little bitch getting the attention of the people in the quad.
"One wrong move and I'll break your fucking hand. I'll give you one chance to walk away and leave me the fuck alone."
"Okay okay I'm sorry. Please let me go." He cried, his nose was bleeding from the slam and you felt satisfied at that. You pushed him away and let him go. He had fallen off his seat, he scrambled to his feet his face red with rage and embarrassment when he noticed everyone watching and some were laughing.
"You crazy fucking bitch."
You kept your straight face, he all but ran away and you continued with your work acting like nothing had happened. You kept on doing your work until it was time for your next class. After packing your things and heading to your class you saw a group sitting at a table looking your way. You spared them a glance your eyes connecting with chocolate brown eyes. She was beautiful. The most gorgeous girl you've ever seen. But you kept on walking.
*
After a long day of classes and your part time job you headed home. You had refused to share a dorm room with a stranger. So getting a apartment was the next thing you could do. The apartment was a solo room with a bathroom and good sized kitchen and living room. It was a great apartment and you loved it.
You walked into the building too see a man and woman kissing. But they quickly pulled away when you walked in. The man looked your way and gave you a slight nod. You returned the nod, the woman was pretty you can't deny. She looked up at you as you grew closer. Quickly making your way up the stairs towards your apartment.
"Hey you're the new chick." You looked up from your keys to see a pretty light skin girl with short hair. "Just wanted to say that you did every girl a favor today. The amount of times that asshole has tried something on every girl. It's insane. I'm Mindy by the way."
"Y-"
"Mindy hurry up I-Oh hi."
The same girl from earlier opened the door to see you. The beautiful brunette from earlier stood there. She was more beautiful up close. You took note of her freckles.
"Hi." You smiled slightly at the shorter girl. Your smile growing just a bit when you saw the blush. The brunette smiled at you, her blush still noticeable but she still seemed so confident.
"I'm Tara." Tara stepped forward of a smirking Mindy, holding out her hand for you to shake. Tara ignored her friend who been busy looking between the taller girl and herself.
"Y/n. Nice to meet you."
Tara just about melted to the floor when your hand engulfed her own. You were so tall. The way your eyes glimmered in the light was enough to hypnotize her. She looked up at you, liking the feeling of how you were looking at her. It made her feel warm inside. The sound of your name was so beautiful. You were so attractive. So handsome.
At the sound of clearing of the throat. You both jumped at the sound. Forgetting that Mindy was standing only a few feet away. You pulled away from Tara, you didn't want to but you also didn't want to seem like a creep.
"Well it was nice meeting you. But I have to start on my homework." You spoke, Tara mentally cooing at the sight of how red the tip of your ears got. The sight of the girl front of her now was a complete 180 from the girl she saw in the quad.
"Oh okay. It was nice to meet you as well." She spoke her eyes never leaving yours. It was like she hypnotized, she didn't want to move. She wanted to stay in your presence.
*
Tara looked at you from a distance. It had been a week since she met you. She had barely seen you around campus, the class she did have with you, you would always be the last one to show up (literally only seconds before the lecture started) and then you'd be the first one to leave the room. It was starting to get a little annoying.
Your once cold expression was back on your face. The gentle smile you showed her that day still plagued her mind. She watched how you ignored everyone especially the other jocks who have been on your ass for what you did to their running back. You didn't even look their way. This time she had sat in the chair where you regularly sit. Mindy sitting right beside her.
Her back straighten when she saw you walk in. With only seconds to spare. She watched as your eyes looked at her direction. Her heart hammering in her chest at seeing a little smile on your lips form. You walked to your chair and sat down right next to her. The chairs were so close to one another, that she got whiff of your perfume. You smelt so good. You looked so good. Your clothes fit you loosely. You had that baggy clothes aesthetic. The style fit you perfectly.
"Stop or you'll start drooling."
Tara felt her cheeks heat up bit as she nudged Mindy away from her.
"Hey."
The sound of your voice coming out in hushed whisper, seeing as the professor had already started his lecture. She couldn't help the smile that made it's way on her face. "Hi."
The class continued on and Tara spent most of her time sneaking glances towards you. Now that she was up close to you, she could take in your face features up close. Your eyes were a soft y/ec, she could also notice some light scars on your face. Now she wondered where you got them. Since she met you, you always wore clothes that covered your body. Long sleeves, sweaters, jackets. She couldn't help but to wonder why.
"You know you won't learn anything if you don't pay attention."
At the sound of your teasing voice her eyes widen a bit and she snapped her head back toward the professor. Her cheeks flaming red at the sound of your soft laugh and Mindy's laugh.
"Shut up. I was multitasking." She huffed, she had been caught ogling at you, feeling all of sudden hot and embarrassed.
*
This time after class you had packed your things slowly. Tara had done the same, Mindy had left right after to meet Anika. "So what class do you have next?" You asked as you stood up.
"I actually have some free time right now, what about you?" She hopped you also had some free time, cause she really wanted to be around you. She knew Sam wouldn't want her to be around someone she barely knows, alone. But there was just something about you that drew her in. Plus ghostface was gone. He had to be. Right?
"So do I. I go to the café not far from here to get something to eat while I study. You wanna come with?" You spoke in tome you hoped that didn't come off too hopeful. Your mom had told you not to trust people, you being too trustworthy was the reason you had almost died the year before. But there was just something about Tara that made you feel like you could trust her. The chances of the same thing happening to you again, was just low. Slim to zero. Right?
*
That's how your days were spent after your first few classes. They were spent with Tara and sometimes Mindy with her girlfriend Anika. You had met Chad who was Mindy's twin. Along with Quinn and Ethan who were also siblings. Meeting so many people at the same time had made you a little anxious but you tried not to show it.
But Tara had noticed. The way you'd sit at the corner of the booth. Your eyes never looking away from your drink for a long periods of time. Your drink always staying close your body. Or how you'd always keep your answers short. Tara was starting to think you didn't like being around people. It would explain why you always had that 'don't talk to me' look you'd always have.
Although you seemed to relax more when Tara would keep being around you. Tara couldn't explain why she wanted to be around you. But she did and she liked your company. The way you'd relax around her joke and laugh around her. It was something she looked forward to every day.
Four months into the friendship you had with Tara,she had told you what happened to her last year. You couldn't believe she went through that, her own best friend doing that to her. Now you understood why her sister was so protective of Tara. You couldn't blame Sam. Sam had been the girl you saw kissing that guy, that one day. She had recognized you as well but you had kept your mouth shut seeing as she was keeping her relationship a secret. She had been stand-offish towards you as well but you understood. Really you did. You had been the same with everyone else as well. You may be tall but that hadn't stopped anyone before.
You had wanted to tell Tara what happened to you as well but something had stopped you. It wasn't cause you didn't trust. You just felt like it wasn't the right time. She had just told you her trauma, she had cried while she told you. It didn't feel right to tell her yours. So you didn't.
Now you understood why people around campus always looked at Tara and her friends. You never really paid attention to any of them. The scar Tara had on her hand, you didn't question it either. Or the little limp Tara had as well. Sometimes you couldn't really tell she had a limp. It wasn't until you took her to a carnival. With doing a lot of walking, you were able to tell. Without really pointing it out, you had offered a piggy back ride. She laughed and agreed. You saw the small look of relief in her eyes. So you had spent quite a while with her on your back. You had been grateful you picked back up on your gym routine.
You really didn't know who she or her friends were. You never did like the Stab movies and not to mention you had your problems last year.
Now any time you planned something that included walking you made sure to take breaks. You didn't want Tara hurting herself. Now that you knew what had happened to her. You also tried your best to make sure she felt safe.
You were in your apartment now, you had just gotten back from work and had headed straight to take a shower. Tara had texted earlier that she'd be stopping by to take you to her apartment for movie night. You recently given her your spare key. So she'd let herself in.
It wasn't long till Tara had let herself in your apartment. You had been taking too long, everyone was just waiting for you now. She walked further into the apartment. Freezing in her steps when she saw that bathroom door was opened. Your back was to her, she could see your back muscles but what really drew her attention was the light scars on your back. But what really made her stop in her tracks was the tattoo you had your ribcage. It was right under your boob.
DOD92822
She looked at the date, remembering the day like it had been yesterday. It had been the day she had been attacked by ghos-Amber. It had been the day she had thought she was going to die. Why did you have the date tattooed on your body.
"Shit Tara you scared me. I'm almost ready." You had your long sleeve shirt on now, along with some loose shorts. You hadn't noticed how Tara was yet move or say anything as threw your hair up in a messy bun. Finishing your routine and heading out of the bathroom. You only stopped when you noticed the look on Tara's face.
"Hey you okay?" You looked at Tara, growing a bit concern when she didn't say anything. "Tar?"
"What's-What's that?"
You looked at her confused, you looked around to see what she could possibly mean. She walked towards you, placing her hand over your tattoo causing you to straighten up. Breaking your gaze from her to step back. You shuffled on your feet, you weren't sure how to say it.
"Y/n?"
"Have you ever heard of someone named Rosalind Dyer?" You spoke not looking at her just yet. It would be the first time you ever told anyone. You weren't sure if you'd be able to keep your eyes dry if you looked into Tara's eyes.
"The name sounds familiar." Tara didn't know where she heard that name from.
"She's a famous female serial killer. Well turns out she had an apprentice." You moved to sit on the chair. Tara moving to sit in front of you. Now she knew where she heard of that name. She had only been freshman when they had found the first victims of Rosalind Dyer.
"He had kidnapped a few girls and gave them tattoos, before he'd put them in barrels. He had succeeded in doing it to three girls. I had been out with friends at the time. You know we had just won our state championship, we had fake I.Ds. So we went to a bar. There I met Caleb. He had been so nice. Kept on telling me he was a scout ucla and I had believed him. He had so much proof that he was. While I was talking to him about basketball. He slipped something in my drink and the next thing I knew I was strapped on a bed while he gave me the tattoo. The tattoo represented the day of death. I was being put in the barrel, he didn't like how much I was fighting him. He had punched, kicked, sliced his knife at me to force me in. It was a miracle the cops showed up when they did." You finished you'd have felt so grateful for those two cops that saved you that day.
"Uh I still need to save enough money to have the tattoo removed." You mumbled, your eyes still refused to look at Tara.
"The day I told you about what happened to me. Why didn't you say anything. You let me cry on your shoulder. I could have comforted you as well." Tara hadn't heard of what happened down in L.A. She had been too busy focusing on what was going in on Woodsboro. Not knowing that you also were also close to death last year. Not only did you have scars from the day like she did. But you had been branded as well by the psycho killer. Branded by the worst thing that had ever happened to you.
"I didn't think it was the right time Tara. That day was about you."
Tara's heart broke at the sight of tears filling your eyes. It had been the first time you were really vulnerable in front of her. Everything you did now made sense. How you didn't drink if you were out in public, how you always went for bottled water in parties or sometimes not even drink anything. Or how you'd hold her drinks, one hand always covering the top. Or how she'd drunkly try to grab any cups of beer she could get. You'd always stop her. Remembering the small glimpse of fear in your eyes.
She reached for your hands. Taking them in hers.
"Hey. I'm here for you to. Always Y/n. You're stuck with me." She stood up, standing in between your legs as she wrapped her arms around your shoulder and pulled you in. She felt your arms wrapping around her waist. It was no time for her to let the butterflies in her stomach to go crazy. She wanted to show you the same comfort you showed her when she told you about Ghostface.
She wanted to be the one you felt safe around. Just like she felt safe around you. She felt you relax in her hold. She wanted to make sure you'd never feel like you couldn't tell her something.
*
"I'm assuming she told you."
Tara had stayed with you that night. She had held you like you held her that night she told you. You had fallen asleep on her chest and she couldn't help it but pull you closer. The following morning you had to go to your job and she said she had to go back to the apartment. So with a final hug, you both promised to see each other later.
At the sound of hearing her sisters voice as soon as she walked into her apartment had her jumping a few inches. "Jesus Sam. What the-Wait what do you mean told me? Told me what?"
Sam looked unsure now. If you didn't tell her about what happened, she'd be outing your own trauma and she didn't want to do that. She knew two of your secrets. The one had you pulling your drinks close to you and the one that had you blushing when ever she caught you staring too long at Tara.
"Never mind."
"No does it have to do with her living in L.A?" Tara was now confused cause if it does have what to do with that. How the hell did Sam know.
"Oh she did. Well come on Tara, of course I know. I had to know if she could be trusted. All I had to do was search up her name and a lot of articles from Los Angeles had her name in them." Sam had read a lot of articles and she was had gotten too much information. It was enough for her to feel horrible for reading so much about you. The picture they had of before you had gone missing, you had been so innocent looking. But then they showed one of how you looked after you were rescued. It really was heart wrenching.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Are you kidding. It wasn't my secret to tell. Although it wasn't really a secret, I'm sure she had her reasons. Just like we do. We have our own reasons why we don't go around telling people we survived Ghostface attacks." Sam trying to come to her own defense.
"Yea I know. I just want to be there for her. Like how she was there for me." Tara sat on a chair next to the table. Sam sighed and sat in front of her.
"Just keep doing what your doing Tara. I can tell she trusts you. And her trust is not misplaced. I'm positive yours isn't either. You both have been through something traumatic. Just be patient." Sam reached over and took her sister's hands in hers.
"I really like her Sam." Tara said her eyes filling with tears. Her emotions were all over the place. That fear she felt, the thought of never getting chance to meet you.
"Hey, she likes you to dumbass." At the sight of the bewildered look she got in return made her laugh.
"Really?"
"Geez you really are dumb. Have you not seen the girl. Cold towards literally everyone else but with you, huge softie. A girl literally flirted with her, talking about how cold she was and how she would love someone's jacket. The second you said you were cold, which I know you said it on purpose. She hands you her jacket." Sam rolled her eyes at the sight of Tara's sheepish blush.
"Trust me Tara she feels the same way."
*
Since you've told tara the truth she's been mostly the same. Just like how you became a little bit more protective of her after she told you about ghostface. She had also grown to be just bit mor as protective of you. Tara had always been affectionate but now she was holding your hand in public, hugging you, holding you. Her physical touch had your heart racing. You love Tara. You were sure, no you were positive that you are in love with her. You just didn't want your feelings to ruin what you hav with Tara.
You were sat in the corner of the library with Tara. You both had some free time, so in the mean time you both were goofing off. Holding laughs that made it even funnier when you would look at each other. You couldn't help to laugh as Tara turned red from trying to hold in her laughter. You needed to calm her down before she had an asthma attack. You could her wheeze as she laughed. You pulled out the spare inhaler you carried with you. You had Tara give you one, since you had a scare at the start of the friendship when she had an asthma attack didn't know what was happening until she took out her inhaler.
"Stop." You held back your laugh as you held out the inhaler for her to take.
Tara took the inhaler and used to it. Once she caught her breath she wiped the tears. She still had her giggles and she had been leaning on you from laughing so hard.
You felt your heart beat pick up just a bit when she leaned back into you. Her head resting on your shoulder. It had been a bit cold in the library while you both had started working on your assignments. So you had given her your hoodie for her to wear. You had your long sleeves underneath, you had seen the goosebumps on Tara's arms and you didn't want her to get cold. She had taken the hoodie with some eagerness and put it on. You smiled at the sight of your hoodie engulfing her in your clothing. Your hoodie was really big on her.
Tara had not been cold. She had gotten the goosebumps from how close you were. She had wanted to lean into your warm embrace. You had thought she was cold. And now she was surrounded by your scent. She had pulled the hoodie close to her body. You were totally not getting the hoodie back. It was so warm, so soft and just so you.
"So I've bee-There you two are. I've been looking everywhere. Don't make any planes for later. We've been invited to a party and we're all going." Mindy interrupted you. You deflated a bit knowing very well that Tara would want to go to the party. Even though Sam didn't like when she'd go out. You didn't either but you'd go to make sure Tara and her friends were safe.
It wasn't long till they were all in your apartment getting ready. It was a Halloween party, Tara had dressed up as a pirate and she had you dressing up as one as well. Although you were dressed more like Will Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean. You didn't want to but you agreed never the less when it came to
Tara.
"Oh you guys look so cute." Anika gushed from her seat as Tara fixed your hat. You blushed when Tara smirked your way, her eyes twinkling in the lights from your apartment.
"Nika take a picture of us." Tara handed her phone to Anika. She then moved back to you pulling your close. Her arms wrapped around your waist as your loved to around her shoulders pulling her closer.
Anika took the pictures and more. Smirking when she caught the moment when you looked down at Tara and Tara had looked back up at you. The moment being captured by Anika and she couldn't feel any more proud of herself.
The walk towards the party was pretty light. Tara stayed by your side, her fingers interlocked with yours. You stood tall next to her, just cause she had seen your softer side, didn't everyone else got to.
The party had already been in full swing by the time they arrived. You watched as tara served herself a drink and grabbed a bottled water for you. You tried to relax but you never really liked going to parties. You had told Tara you had to go to the bathroom. She nodded standing up to follow you. You sat her down with a hand on the shoulder.
"I'll be fine. Stay with Mindy I won't be long."
Even though tipsy, she hesitated to let you leave by yourself. She hated how over bearing Sam had become and she didn't want you to feel like that. She stayed in her seat watching you leave. She knew the line for the down stairs bathroom was long. So maybe you'd go upstairs. And you did. So you wouldn't last too long. She watched as you disappeared upstairs. She counted down the minutes, standing up to wait for you by the stairs. As she made her to the stairs, she was stopped.
"You're looking quite sexy Tara. Wanna go upstairs so I can show you my hook."
Tara groaned in annoyance. She had just about enough of the guy standing in front of her. He had tried so hard to get her attention the moment they moved to New York. She had done everything to avoid him. And he would stay when you were around. He wouldn't out right say it but was afraid of you. But there were times when she'd be alone and he'd try to talk her up.
"Leave me alone Frankie."
She moved to go around him but was stopped by his hand grabbing her wrist. He tried to lead her up stairs and she had been a little more tipsy than she had thought. Her balance was off and had fallen if the douche bag wasn't holding her.
"Hey man, Tara's good down here." Chad had reached for Tara's wrist but Frankie had pulled her away.
"Sorry bro I didn't catch that." Frankie took a step down he smug attitude in place.
You had been turning to walk down the steps, the bathroom upstairs also a line but wasn't as long as the one downstairs. You stopped right behind the guy that you had slammed his face on the table. You couldn't be bothered to remember his name.
"Yea you did. Now let her go." With being step or two above him you stood extremely over him. Your eyes went down to the wrist that the douche bag had a hold of. You saw the shift of his attitude the way he clenched his dad. The hold he tara tightening. The wince coming from tara was enough for your to react.
Making the finals steps to him as you moved stand between Tara and the frat boy. Your hand gripping the hand that held Tara's. "I said let her go."
With a mocking laugh he let go, you also let him go. You didn't think he'd do something else. But you were proven wrong, before you could even blink his left fist connected with your cheek. The force of the punch had caused you to lose your balance and fall down a few steps before Chad caught you.
"You fucking asshole."
You had heard Tara curse the guy out. But then it was followed by a loud groan and another person tumbling down the steps. Chad had moved you both out of the way of falling frat boy. Everyone in the party laughed at the boy as clutched on to his balls.
"Oh my god are you okay. Let me see." Tara had sobered up pretty quickly when you been punched. She had felt this, anger in her. She had never felt like this. But actually seeing you get hurt right in front of her had her seeing red. She moved with a purpose, to cause any type of pain towards Frankie. And that's what she did she made sure to use the tip of her heels. The satisfaction of seeing him cry in pain as he fell to the floor.
Seeing you standing there in shock and a hint of amusement in your eyes had her snapping her attention back to you. Cupping your cheeks to see the damage done on your pretty face. With the lights house being shitty she took your hand on hers, picking up your fallen pirate hat.
Once out side under a street light she stopped taking in your slightly red cheek bone.
"Ugh that asshole. I'm going to-Hey I'm okay. Are you okay? You were dragged upstairs. I should of have been there with you." You stopped her from talking. Feeling a little guilty for not stopping that douche bag.
"Hey it's not your fault. Frankie is douche and a total creep." Tara gently rubbed her thump over the redness of your cheek bone.
You couldn't help the smile and them a small laugh. "Man. His face was too funny when you went full on Messi on his balls." At the sight of Tara's proud smile you let out a full on laugh. Wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"Man Tara that was awesome."
"Thank you thank you." She stated in a confident voice standing straight while wrapping her arm wound your waist. She had laughed as well, she was thankful that nothing today had brought any bad memories your way.
Her smile faltered a bit when she noticed how close both of your faces were. She had seen the moment you realized the closeness as well. Her skipping a beat at the sight of your eyes looking into her and then down to her lips. She moved a little closer, hoping she had read the signs right. She really hoped she did. Seeing you look back into her eyes with only inches keeping her lips off yours. The look in your eyes was enough for her to make the final move.
The moment her lips touched yours, was enough for her to die of happiness. Your lips had been as soft as they looked. The way you cupped her cheeks, she gripped your shirt in her fists pulling you as close as she could. She faintly taste your cheery chapstick and didn't know she could love cherry so much. Loving the way you held her. The way your lips moved against hers. The way your lips had dominated hers without even trying.
She smiled into the kiss, causing you to smile in return pulling away from the kiss.
"Wait you're not drunk are you. Oh my god I just too-Shut up. I'm not drunk and you have no idea how long I've been wanting to do that." She smiled up at you. Her dimples on full display when you smiled back down at her.
From a distance Tara’s friends stood with happy smiles on their faces. It was about damn time that the two of you got together.
The two of you deserved each other.
