What mecha shows did you enjoy but would not recommend to people (flawed personal favourites, shows with high entry barrier, etc.)?
Several come to mind.
Blue SPT Layzner: TV run got shitcanned prematurely and has probably the mast slapdash ending of any mecha show save maybe the TV run of Ideon. OVA adaptation opens with rushed compilation of first half of TV series that's dull to watch and not especially coherent on its own before it gets to the altered and much improved ending. Feels like there's no right way to watch it, you have to do both and piece it together in your head. Definitely one to check out after you've seen Takahashi's better work like Votoms and Dougram, though it's infuriating because the series has banger music and mecha design, and the hypothetical ideal version of the plot that you don't have to basically kitbash together in your head is really good.
Dancouga: Production values are amazing in first episodes and then turn to complete dogshit shortly thereafter, like they literally spent their whole budget up front and then had to pay their animators in loose change and leftover fast food. Very strange pacing. However I've always really liked the main protagonist Shinobu Fujiwara whose voice actor honestly carries the show on his back, and I've had a soft spot for Dancouga the mecha itself for a long time - but it doesn't actually show up until half way in. Yet somehow I can't deny the charm of the show despite how slapdash it is thanks to its interesting approach to the super robot formula, and it leads into Requiem for Victims which is the true ending for the TV plot and a followup called God Bless Dancouga, both of which are banger OVAs (and then another kinda shitty one after that but who cares.) Unfortunately they all make no sense without watching the TV run. It's a franchise for hardcore mecha fans only, though IIRC the 2000s sequel Dancouga Nova is basically disconnected and stands on its own, for better or worse. I've yet to watch it.
Tryder G7: 80s super robot show that's kind of like a part slice-of-life anime, honestly ahead of its time in a lot of ways. Would be my go-to recommendation for 80s super robot shows if there was a decent fansub. The one that exists is a Russian translation of the official Italian subs that then got translated into English and it's as disastrous as you might expect. Not only is it incoherent but even as a non-Japanese speaker I can tell it's often inaccurate. Frustrating because I can tell it's a good show that deserves a proper English sub for fans.
Cross Ange: Notorious show by the Gundam Seed creators. The concept and lore of this show is batshit insane, the mecha are cool, the main character turns out to be interesting and likable despite very negative first impressions, however there's no denying that it's buried under a thick vaneer of shallow coombait and it runs itself off the rails with zany plot at points. Honestly better than its reputation suggests but hard to recommend without looking like a pervert.
Shinkon Gattai Godannar: Basically the same thing, coombait super robot series, fun action, not a bad story. At the same time if you've ever seen a gif of absurd breast physics in anime from the 2000s there's a decent chance it's from Godannar. Good show at the end of the day, better than it has a right to be, artstyle is gonna be a big turnoff for many people and I don't necessarily blame them.
Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise: Probably the weirdest of the build series, also IMO the best. Downside: you have to suffer through the profoundly mediocre original Build Divers to get the most out of it and I'm not sure that price is worth it.
Probably more that I could add. Honourable mention has to go Gundam Seed Stargazer because you have to suffer through Gundam Seed Destiny to get to it, but I hear that the new Gundam Seed movie that's also set after Destiny is good so perhaps the cost-to-benefit ratio of suffering through Destiny has changed.

So I saw Gundam Seed FREEDOM...
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/2fedb3addca2297fb589fa7688c48e1f/66deec2cbbf97d8e-10/s540x810/f3749270d0060e59d4e6fc6a122ed62288670e9c.webp)
... and honestly it defies analysis.
I will avoid spoilers for major plot elements in this write-up.
I'm a huge Gundam fan. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has followed my work for a long time, as I frequently bring it up, even in entirely inapplicable situations.
But even though I've been a fan since the late 90s, I'd never had a chance to see any of it in the cinema - so when AllTheAnime organised a special short run of the movie for UK theatres, I jumped at the chance.
What I saw surprised me.
To clarify, I'm not one of those Gundam fans who hates SEED. Sure, I love the UC, but I'm not gonna lie, Wing was my genesis within the fandom so I'm as likely to watch G-Gundam as 08th MS Team, though I do lean towards the grittier side of the franchise, with War in the Pocket being my favourite entry.
But most relevant to this is that while I enjoyed SEED, I've always been critical of Destiny for some really bizarre plotting that, frankly, kinda left the CE timeline in a mess. Like many fans, with the show having been off the air for nearly two decades, I gave up on the idea the movie might exist literally years ago.
With all that out of the way...
The movie does exist. Finally. And is it good? Bad?
The weird thing is I don't know what to say, and that's weird for a writer.
It's awesome. It's terrible. It's goofy. It's clever. It's idiotic. It's bizarre.
But it's over 2 hours long and, honestly, I was never bored, which I guess is a success?
Perhaps most surprisingly, the movie expends ZERO ENERGY on helping you if you haven't seen the near-100-episodes of CE anime which came before this. Like, if you haven't seen SEED and or Destiny, you are just utterly fucked. The show wheels characters and plot-beats from the prior material in-and-out in a manner I could best call aggressive. I last watched Destiny about ~7 years ago, and I'm a self-admitted Gundam nerd; but even I had to look up a few things on my phone afterwards.
Then, fan-service. Of both kinds. All sorts of things get pulled out of cold storage for the movie... But it works. Though that also stands as a testament to how this is, in the truest sense, a 2004 anime throwback. I actually heard some people in the cinema groaning at some of the Gainax Bouncing going on; but then given the jiggly silhouette in EVERY OPENING TO SEED, frankly it would've been stranger if it had been absent.
I think the movie has loads of problems. Even by CE standards, some of the storytelling was really goofy and dare-I-say-it, "cringe". It recycles probably too much and certainly doesn't stand on its own as a piece of media (though that's not so much a failing as a clear, conscious choice).
Also... It has that "anime movie" thing where the plot feels a bit filler. The first time you have this new guy on the scene with shock-white hair, being all edgelord as he talks about war and destiny and fencing or some other weird metaphor you kinda see the entire movie unfurl before you. If you're a longtime anime fan this isn't so much your first rodeo as your daily commute.
From there, the story takes numerous predictable turns, dips liberally into melodrama, sets up some great Mobile Suit fights, with relatively few surprises (note, however, I'm not saying "no surprises", as there are some, and also, I'm not suggesting it's tedious).
And yet...
It's fun.
It's really, really fun.
That's the crux of all this. That's what really matters. And honestly, when that new theme comes out of the speakers, sounding in perfect key with the types of music that ran through SEED's run, and Kira's onscreen, and he's locking onto a dozen targets and beams are spamming everywhere and everything's exploding in that weird pink way that things in SEED explode...
Have you ever tried to play a videogame from the 90s that you haven't played in years? And do you know how touch-and-go that is?
Gundam Seed FREEDOM is, if I'm to compare it to anything, like that.
But thankfully, it's one of the times when your memories might have been optimistic, but they're not wrong. That game may be a bit crude, a bit rough around the edges, and have more boob and ass jiggle than you recall... But it's good. So good that you find yourself sitting cross-legged on the floor in front of your console, grinning like an absolute loon, until it's 2am and you can no longer feel your feet.
If you have fond memories of the SEED era of the Gundam franchise, don't miss it.

saku! i have two questions:)
i’m p sure mentioned your favorite book was lotr, but do you have any other recommendations? oh or maybe an anime/manga you really like? anything is fine hehe
my second one is, what inspires you to write? i’m sure it’s something you’ve been doing for a long time, but in general, it seems like whether it’s through your videos or your degree, you’re always trying to tell some sort of story? it’s amazing to me how you treat your characters as real people, if that makes sense? it’s almost like you’ve met them and they’re not just words on paper. i know a couple of artists treat their characters/work as such, but i’ve never really seen it like i have with you. i’m just a bit curious about what exactly makes you tick? please ignore this ask if it’s too personal haha i’m just genuinely interested:)
have a good day with many crumpets, tea, and cat cuddles!!!!
My favourite film trilogy is LotR, but I don't read! I'm in the middle of reading The Fellowship of the Ring, but reading makes me tired so I seldom do it! Unfortunately, that means I can't recommend any books or manga, and I haven't watched anime in a long time either~
Everything inspires me to write! It's a way of escapism for me, and for as long as I can remember, I've loved creating fictional stories. Characters themselves are the vessels in which the story is being told, and they drive everything. There is so much in a life that occurs which defines one's sense of self, and it's ever-changing. I love exploring internal conflicts, the tug-of-war over nature vs nurture, and the long-lasting effects many of us carry.
Almost all of the characters I've made have attributes of someone I know, a fictional person, or myself. It's also through this medium where I can test decisions some people might make in intense situations. A prime example would be Isaac Rhoades, a man traumatised by a past that dictates his every decision until he learns how to loosen the reins--if only by a little. The listener challenges his beliefs while also providing him a way to confront what it means to love, to trust, and to hope.
Another would be Alex (a taboo name for many of you, I know haha). The events of his past fuel his insecurities of the present, and that powers his decisions for the future. A lot of my characters act this way because I believe many of us are the same. His listener is no different. One has dealt with their trauma in one way, the other in another way, and then they clash. Sometimes, it's easy to put the pieces together, but not always. And that's why I like to base actions on character because humans themselves are contradictive, stubborn, and in many cases, illogical.
Then, there are other characters who I use to explore certain themes, such as Niall. His story is heart-breaking yet relatable; I wanted to delve more into his self-perception which was crafted by bullying and homophobia, and how he could possibly shift towards a positive direction.
Audio roleplays are great for my creativity, but they only scratch the surface in terms of how I would normally develop characters and their potential arcs. Novel formats are more my forte, but I do enjoy the platform that I have to fan the flame of angst, fluff, and everything in between!

Peeta's Proposal
Here's my piece for @promptseverlark's Summer 'This Would Have Happened Anyway'. For someone who's not draw to reading or writing AUs, I've sure been doing a lot of it lately!
It was good to have something to "force" me to write, but I think my favourite thing about this challenge has been reading the amazing works! It's pushed me to read things that I might have otherwise scrolled past, but have really enjoyed. There are incredibly talented people in this community!!
Without further ado...
What if Peeta and Katniss had both been rescued and taken to District Thirteen at the conclusion of the Quarter Quell? This story takes place around the time of events in the early chapters of Mockingjay.
Peeta's Proposal
I’m not sure how long it takes for my reality to sink in. The loss of natural daylight and knowledge I am underground makes me feel like an animal trapped in a Capitol laboratory.
Despite everyone around me telling me I am safe, I continue to feel watched. I look for hidden cameras in the ceilings and the walls; wondering if I am being broadcast on to District Thirteen’s version of Capitol TV.
The first thing I remember was the hospital ward. I found out later from Prim that it took the doctors over a week to wake me up properly. I spent much of that time under the influence of large doses of morphling.
Each day I get a small white capsule of morphling with my breakfast. Prim tells me there are small lines if you look closely to indicate the dose. She says they are weaning me off it slowly because that is the safest thing to do. I tried to stop suddenly a few days ago on my own and felt terrible – it felt like my skull was being split open, my joints were aching and my eyes and nose kept watering. So I take the pill and squeeze my eyes closed swallowing it with a gulp of recycled water.
Even on the morphling, I continue to have pain. Some days, it’s my head that aches where Johanna knocked me out, other days it’s everywhere all at once. One of the doctors here is a specialist in the mind; he tried explaining to me that pain is a signal and sometimes there is no clear physical cause. I guess that is why I am wearing this bracelet to signify I am “mentally unstable”.
The only thing that truly calms me down is Peeta. I have to wait until very late at night when there are only a few people left in the hospital ward and tread silently to his room. Most of the time he is already asleep, his blond curls softly heaped up on his forehead. He is exhausted more than the rest of us, and they have him on special monitors that watch his heart. Apparently, the doctors have never known anyone to survive touching a forcefield, and Prim says they sit around and talk about the shapes of the lines, and how quick his heart beats. As good natured as ever, Peeta doesn’t mind much and asks the doctors questions every now and then. I take it upon myself to be suspicious of them, so I do not speak to the doctors unless absolutely necessary.
Peeta is already asleep tonight to the melody of the soft beeps of the monitors when I peek behind the door. He is curled up on his side with the blanket rolled down, anticipating my arrival. Seeing him prepared like this makes me want to laugh at how well he knows me, but that thought is quickly overcome by tears that spring up into my eyes over this boy that is so good, and that I have already almost lost so many times. I crawl in next to him, pressing my back against his stomach and pulling the blanket up over both of us. The warmth from his belly travels right up my spine and settles around my heart. The beeps slow, a heaviness settles into my body, and before I know it, I am pulled into a dreamless sleep.
***
As soon as we are all discharged from the hospital, we receive summons from Plutarch to join a meeting in Command to discuss the next phase of the Revolution. I have yet to see the full extent of District Thirteen. I have only seen the inside of the hospital, our family’s assigned compartment, the dining hall, and a few supply closets big enough to hide in until today. I don’t know how deep they have buried into the rock here, but I did have to squeeze Peeta’s hand in the elevator ride down here, the air feeling like it was being squeezed out of my chest as we descended deeper under the earth.
It turns out there are far more people involved in the Revolution than I would have guessed. I am impressed by the acting skills. It makes me a little annoyed to think of Haymitch being right to keep me in the dark about all this – my ability to keep a straight face in a lie is, after-all, non-existent.
We are sat around a long rectangular table in the Command Room of District Thirteen – a combination of Victors, Rebels and District Thirteen leaders. Each of us is dressed in the utilitarian grey shirt and trousers, but the groupings remain distinct. The Victors are weary, suspicious; the Rebels hopeful, fiery; the District Thirteen personnel silent and soldier-like in their mannerisms.
While I am told they are grateful for the new arrivals, the original District Thirteen residents keep to themselves. This is the first time I have been in a room with many of them up close. Prim told me there was a poxvirus that wiped out large numbers of their original population. Here in the dark room, the light from the screens on the walls reflects off old scars on some of their faces.
At the head of the table is President Coin, a middle-aged woman with copper eyes and straight, grey hair that falls to her shoulders in a sheet. Her hands are folded on top of the table, her lips pursed. To her right, sits Plutarch Heavensbee, his belly pulling at the buttons of his shirt, leaning back in his chair behind a pile of papers scattered across the desk in front of him.
Trying to be the model of democracy, after standing up and waving us in and telling us how wonderful it is to see us all – I think how pleased Effie would be at his manners, and quickly discard the thought before I start thinking about what has become of her –, Plutarch asks us for ideas about how to stir up loyalty in the districts.
For all their soldiers, personnel and intelligence gathering, District Thirteen have not had a Head Gamemaker here to figure out how to play with all the pieces in this new arena.
Plutarch’s question is met with silence.
I turn to look at each of the Victors seated at the table.
Finnick, looking slightly unhinged, ties knots over and over in a short length of rope without making eye contact with anyone.
Johanna clenches her jaw, her fists balled up, intermittently smacking them into her thighs, eyes angrily darting around.
Beetee taps away on a small electronic machine, muttering to himself and seemingly oblivious to the presence of anyone else.
Haymitch may look the worst of all of us, as he has spent up until now drying out in a padded cell. He barely registers a hint of recognition when I look at him, his eyes bloodshot.
Finally, I come to Peeta who is immediately to my left. He is already looking at me with soft eyes. When our eyes lock glances, his gaze sharpens and becomes questioning. I feel my brow furrow a little, but the corners of my lips pull upwards.
Once upon a time, we talked about the same solution under very different circumstances.
Peeta feels out for my hand under the table, taking it in his and rubbing small circles across the back of it. He has always known how to play the games without being told, so for once, I trust his instincts, and squeeze his hand gently to tell him so.
“Katniss and I can get married” Peeta announces.
Knowing what was coming doesn’t stop my tongue from becoming paper dry, my hands from starting to shake and my heart from thumping away in my chest as if I was trying to outrun a wild dog. I look down at the table, tracing the woodgrain with my eyes to try and calm myself.
Plutarch claps his hands with delight, “Yes, I love it! In fact…” he rustles through the haphazard pile of papers, “I think our friend had just the same idea.”
He pulls out a drawing, ragged along one edge where it has been ripped from its journal and hands it to me. Drawn in Cinna’s hand are two figures – one in a long, white gown, with a glittering gold sash across the shoulder, and a sheer gold cape that falls to the ends of the fingers; the other in a white shirt and formal jacket with black trousers that have what looks like a gold sash around the top. This is me and Peeta. The tears in my eyes threaten to spill over onto the paper, but I swallow them back so as not to destroy this final piece of Cinna. I clutch it to my chest as if to quiet the palpitations, wishing my friend was here with me too.
When I look back up at the faces around the table, I am met by a mix of expressions. While Plutarch is clearly delighted at the prospect of a party, there are dark looks on the faces of many of the District Thirteen delegates.
It dawns on me that here, underground, they may have not seen the “star-crossed lovers of District Twelve”.
A thought that is confirmed when President Coin clears her throat and speaks: “Perhaps there is a more military strategy we can explore.” Plutarch waves her concern away, “Nonsense, Madam President, if we are to defeat the Capitol, we must beat them at their own game.”
“But how exactly will a marriage unite the districts?” asks one of the District Thirteen soldiers I don’t know the name of yet.
Plutarch turns to the solider and asks: “What is the antidote to fear?”
He stops to think for a few seconds, and replies “I don’t know, sir.”
“Anyone?”
“Hope,” comes a voice from the other end of the table – Gale’s voice. I try to catch his eye, but he stares straight ahead at Plutarch unwaveringly.
“Indeed! The districts know only fear from the Capitol, they do not know there is hope that the Captiol’s reign can be overturned. Much less that one can escape the Capitol like these two lovebirds have! If we give people in the districts hope, we can light a fire under this revolution which has until now only been smouldering quietly in the background.” Plutarch looks pleased at this monologue and mimes to the scribe to write it down.
“Well that’s all well and good, sir, but how exactly does a wedding nobody knows about do that?” asks the District Thirteen solider.
“Ah, well that’s an excellent question! One that our dear friend Beetee here can help answer.” He gestures to Beetee who continues tapping away, muttering to himself.
Plutarch clears his throat again, “Beetee”.
Beetee looks up, lifting his fingers off the machine and holding them in mid-air, before pushing his glasses back up his nose. “The broadcasts from the Capitol are secured through a system that was designed not to be breached…However, if someone could indeed break through that encoding, alternative messages could be broadcast to the Districts…Seeing I helped designed this system, I believe I can get through, it will just take some time…” he trails off and looks at his screen once again, beginning to tap on the keys.
“So there you have it, we will have a wedding broadcast to all!” Plutarch claps his hands with finality.
President Coin clears her throat, “Thank you Mister Heavensbee. It’s now noon, we will reconvene at thirteen hundred hours for our next meeting as scheduled. Dismissed all.”
I watch as the District Thirteen soldiers and Gale file out instantly without a look in our direction.
I turn back to Peeta who is waiting to ask, “So do you want to kiss me, kick me, or kill me?”
I pause for a second before I answer.
“All three, I think.”

Are you a fan of hot chocolate? Do you like it plain or do you prefer to add things like whipped cream or marshmallows? I love hot chocolate made with milk, plain. I hate the texture of whipped cream and also of marshmallows as it starts dissolving in the chocolate.

Who do you feel you can count on the most in life? Is there anyone you wish you could count on more? My mom; my dad.

7 and 24 for Bernie?
Okay, apparently it's only been two weeks instead of over a month, so that's timely enough for my standards I suppose! Let's do this. (the ask game in question is this one)
7. Is there a piece of clothing you think [character] is particularly fond of/that you imagine them wearing a lot or like to draw them in?
I'm kind of fashion-illiterate and I don't have much of an ability to mentally visualize clothing, so I might not be the best person to answer this, but I'll give it a shot!
I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that since she usually spends her time doing leisure activities inside, Bernie would generally opt for comfortable, casual clothes, like the hoodie she's often seen with. However, the hood could also be a matter of comfort for when she knows she'll have to be out and about. If you ask me, considering her aesthetic sense and love of needlework, I could easily see her regularly modeling pretty dresses and floral patterns and in-progress pieces in the comfort of her own space.
24. What's your favourite thing about [character]?
Okay so I've been thinking about how I want to answer this one for a while now. Maybe I'm taking this far too seriously, but there are a lot of things about Bernadetta that I appreciate or that mean something special to me, and it would be difficult to choose just one thing without wanting to say another. I could, of course, cheat if I really wanted to and give a whole bunch of answers, but I think if I let myself go too crazy then I'd be at this forever and this ask would never see the light of day.
Honestly? The best, most all-encompassing answer I can give is that she's cute. After all, I guess that was my first impression of her from way back before Three Houses came out. She loves stuffed animals. She has a little hedgehog case. She makes dolls of her friends as gifts. She can be lured out of hiding with the promise of cake. She attempts to pawn off her unwanted food on Yuri. She calls herself Bernie (even though the fanbase calls her that too, I cannot stress enough that most other characters rarely, if ever, call her that. it is her nickname for herself. she has dubbed herself Bernie). She gives herself even more elaborate nicknames when she's feeling confident (Botanical Bernie, Bernadetta the Invincible, etc.). There is at least one instance of her making puns off her own name. She has all these charming inflections. She makes this one giggle-adjacent noise in Hopes that gets a smile out of me every time. She loves flowers. She sings in the greenhouse. She geeks about carnivorous plants. She's just incredibly cute and charming, and even if it's not the deepest reason, that's definitely part of what makes me happy whenever I see her on screen.
Thank you so much for the ask, I hope you didn't mind the wait!! I love getting the chance to talk about Three Houses characters, especially Bernadetta, so it made me really happy to get this in my inbox! :] 💜

I was tagged by @claimedbytheearth (thank you!! It was nice reading about you :'D )
It's been long since I've done something like this so it might be fun!
Favourite colour: I guess yellow?
Currently reading: Monster by Naoki Urasawa. I'm slow at reading it but it's so good. One of the top manga I've ever read.
Last song: Skyway Avenue by We The Kings. I really like this song because it's nostalgic though I know this might be... weird? but I've been really um obsessed with songs that are in F#Major key. I've realized it's a type of key that I really enjoy! I've made a playlist full of F#Major songs that I play on repeat. This one is one of them! :')
Last series: One Piece Live Action (OPLA). I've watched it with my friend and now I'm watching it again with my father because he actually liked it.
Currently watching: Well OPLA x'D I'm in episode 4. I'm too slow watching series or reading so that's the only recent one.
Last movie: Well... Does an OVA count? If it does, Angel Densetsu. I swear I had seen it before but I had no idea where or when? So I found it randomly and I watched it full. I felt sad about the main character but the misunderstandings were enjoyable. If that doesn't count: Knives Out. The plot is really well written and has a lot of plotwists. I watched it with some friends and we had a good time guessing the killer's identity!
Sweet/Savory/Spicy: Sweet ;;
Currently working on: um... I'm not sure what this refers to but I'll try to answer it. If it's working as in a work, well nothing yet. I should start to think about my future soon but college left me very tired and I need some rest. If it's working as in projects, my animated adaptation of 2nd LIFE: VTE! Recently I've finished an animation course and I'm applying all the knowledge, changing some scenes I've already done.
Current obsession: Oh dear. Well... I've always have like... core obsessions. I think it's Pokémon recently? I mean if it wasn't obvious from my blog x'D Perhaps also One Piece. I haven't played/ watched movies or series/ tried new things lately so no new obsessions (edit: I don't know if it counts but I've been obsessed with Incredibox mods for a long now and I've recently known Orin Ayo. Such a cool concept, eerie (don't watch it if easily disturbed please) but I like those things! I've read all the characters backgrounds and some theories)
Sorry if it was too long. I'm tagging... Well, you! If you've read until this point I'd like to know a bit of yourself too!

get to know me meme
I was tagged by @a-schrodingers-fox - thanks so much! And sorry for me taking so long. I was busy this weekend, and then things just escalated a little further. 😅
Do you make your bed? Yes. Usually after I showered, when ventilating the rooms. Unless I'm short on time. Then to hell with it.
What's your favourite number? 47. Actually I love almost all prime numbers equally. But 47 a slight bit more. And 2 is pretty cool, too. Because it's the oddest prime.
What is your job? I'm a research associate (postdoc) in developmental and emotional psychology. I. e., I plan and conduct studies dealing with changes in how people of different ages deal with their feelings.
If you could go back to school would you? Fuck no. I'm way too old for all that stuff!
Can you parallel park? When I last drove a car, I was able to parallel park. But that was ten years ago at best. So... maybe? But better not risk our luck?
A job you had that would surprise people? I once had a school internship at a dental technician. That's as surprising as it gets, I'm afraid.
Do you think aliens are real? Yeah. The odds are very much in their favour. Though I highly doubt we'll encounter any extraterrestrial form of life in the foreseeable future.
Can you drive a manual car? I'm a bit rusty, but yeah. In fact I only drove manual cars so far (automatic transmission is rather uncommon where I live), so the real question here might rather be can I drive an automatic car?
What's your guilty pleasure? Buying and hoarding cool dice, although I never play with them.
Tattoos? Still waiting to find the one for me.
Favourite colour? That pink hue of the Evangelion Unit-08 from the Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo movie. Also, any colour on the extra-sprectral Line of Purples.
Favourite type of music? A very eclectic mix of anime show OSTs and songs from Welcome to Night Vale's The Weather segment. Currently, I especially love "Inferno" by Mrs GREEN APPLE and "I Already Like You" by Dessa. Oh, and a special place in my heart is reserved for anything done by Unwoman.
Do you like puzzles? Yeah. Though I have no problem with leaving a puzzle unsolved when it gets too frustrating. But I'll happily give it a try for a few minutes.
Any phobias? I wouldn't call it a fully fletched phobia, but I get really queasy at high places without proper barriers. Like, see-though barriers as high as me? Or windows? Cool, love the view from up here! But some meager, waist-high railings? Fuck that's high, can we go?
Favourite childhood sport? Badminton.
Do you talk to yourself? Yes. And I get quite embarrassed when others catch me doing it.
What movie(s) do you adore? The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) is the best depiction of madness I know, Last Year at Mariendbad (1961) is the perfect riddle, After Hours (1985) has the perfect pacing, The Fall (2006) has the most marvellous colours I've ever seen, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya (2013) wrenched my heart, took it away, and never gave it back, Clouds of Sils Maria (2014) is the most clever piece of metafiction I ever encountered, and Promising Young Woman (2020) has an ending that will haunt me forever.
Coffee or tea? Coffee in the morning, black tea, green tea, or matcha in the early afternoon, and for late afternoon or evening it's herbal tea. Because I'm old and need sleep.
First thing you wanted to be growing up? A private eye, I think.
tagging @amusedmuralist @kneebie and @iwhoneverbelievedinwar to answer next. If they find this a fun thing to do, too. And feel like it. And find the time.

Miscellaneous Tag Game (pt. ii)
Tysm for tagging me @onehelluvamarine xxx
A band you don’t like that many others do: Uhhh I can't think of anything at the moment. I'm positive there is one but I cannot for the life of me think of one right now
A childhood memory that you remember vividly: So when I was. I want to say like 5? We went on a big family holiday to France and we stayed in this holiday home on a farm, and instead of getting a bedroom I actually slept on this little bed on a semi-landing thing, and I remember being in that bed and falling asleep with the rest of my family still chatting downstairs
Least favorite animal and why: The only thing coming to mind is spiders. Not little ones, they're fine, and not tarantulas either. But big house spiders. Because I have encountered them in too many places they Should Not Be
Hot fandom take: Umm idek. I guess maybe that crossover pairings need to stop being automatically considered crackships? Like, unless you're hitting me with that Impala/TARDIS shit or something, it might just be a regular old crossover rarepair ship imho
Do you wear any jewelry, if so, what’s your favorite piece: I basically always have a necklace and a ring on, and I love them both but the necklace is definitely my favourite. It's Thor's hammer, and it was a Christmas present
A movie others liked but you didn’t: The Dark Knight. Excellent performances but I just didn't really vibe with the Nolan Batman movies even though I really wanted to because I watched them at the height of my DC phase
Three things you love about yourself: My humour (I'm a pun master to the extent that some of my colleagues still bring up a joke I made when I started about 6 months ago), my hair, and the way I taught myself to paint my own nails and now they basically always look cool and interesting
A place you hope to visit in the future and why: As just a holiday: Crete because it's got some fascinating history. As a place specifically to visit people: if you're reading this and you know, you know >:)
An actor that gets on your nerves and why: If I ever meet Kevin Bacon it is ON SIGHT. I've never seen him in anything but X-Men but he's been in EE ads for so long he's driven me up the wall and I can't look at him any more
Things you’re excited for in the nearby future? I have a week off next week! Thank GOD
Least favorite ship in a fandom you’re in: I've said it on this blog before so I'm hoping I'm not going to get mobbed for it but. Sledgefu. As I've said before I get it but I Do Not Vibe. Glad y'all are having a good time though!
What’s the most toxic fandom you’ve been in? I can't name it because it's tiny and this'll end up somewhere they'll find it. They were entitled and had a whole superiority complex going on. Last I heard they were STILL hung up on something that happened three years ago where they had beef with someone from another related fandom which blew up into a whole thing
List three things you find beautiful about life: My family, I'm so so lucky to have them and they're always so supportive. My friends, and the fact that I can have good friends who are so important in my life when they're so far away from me. And creating things generally, whether I'm doing it or someone else is, and making something that means something in some way
Any dreams for the future? Current, very mundane dream is to get a job that, even if it's not my biggest passion and I love doing it all the time, doesn't make me dread going in every day
How are you really feeling today? Uhh. Worn out. Kinda ill in a very general way. Seasonal depression is kicking my ass. But I managed to do a couple of important chores today so feeling good about that!
Tags: if you feel like it, then @bruin-coll, @noodleblade, @thesunlikehoney, @paperbrds, @hopefulsapphic and @sumquiasum!

Hey everyone! It's finally time to show you my second OC. Twisted Wonderland related for now, but he also has his place in the Obey Me Universe.
Sadly I still struggle to draw him, so have a bunch of the concept drawings I've accumulated so far:

Name: Klee
Dorm: Ignihyde
Grade: Freshman
Birthday: March 20 (Pisces)
Age: 16 (Twst age) / 22 (HC age)
Height: 175cm
Dominant hand: Left
Homeland: (small river village near Shaftlands)
Club: Mountain Lovers Club
Best subject: Botany
Hobbies: Collecting plants, reading
Pet peeves: Vi (=people who make fun of him)
Favourite food: Chanterelles
Least favourite food: anything alcoholic
Talent: secretly a gamer god
General description:
Describing Klee really is a challenge in itself.
He is both, the walking definition of "so painfully average you forget it exists", but also one of the weirdest individuals you could ever encounter.
He loves every aspect of nature and might just be the most outdoorsy Ignihyde student the school has ever seen. His magic reservoir however is pretty limited, so he is acquainted with various technomantic devices to compensate for that.
Other than that, he does have the nerdy, introverted mindset of an Ignihyde... And also about the popularity of that.
Before NRC, Klee didn't really have any friends, the last one going back to right before elementary school. The other kids have always avoided him, if not laughed about him behind his back. He wasn't actively bullied, but no-one wanted to have anything to do with his weirdness. He seemed unapproachable, incomprehensible, simply too different.
Klee never really cared, he considered them mean and, well, who wants to be friends with meanies anyway?
To be fair though, they had a point, although he didn't know of it himself. Klee's way of communicating is... extraordinary, to say the least. His written speech is a work of art, with him being a writer. However anything that comes out of his mouth is just... off. Not rude, not weird in language, just ... always a bit different from what you'd expect a person to behave. Furthermore, he isn't the most expressive one, seemingly daydreaming most of the time. This also has to do with his unique magic, which I will elaborate in a future post. He mostly smiles when looking at cute animals, colourful fungi or when thinking of the love of his life, Jade Leech.
He has a big heart, however, and once he becomes friends with the Ramshackle residents, as well as some other classmates, he holds them dearer than anything else in his life. He's always there to lend a hand, or share a piece of his vast common and academic knowledge.
He'd be also more than happy to answer your questions about his character, design or relationships 🐸☘️
#twisted wonderland#twisted wonderland oc#twisted wonderland ignihyde#klee#finally his official introduction is here!!!#my baby boi#please give him a warm welcome he's never had one before#im so hyped to show you klee in action#every day i decide on a new quirk for him#and every day i love him more#i hope you will do too <3#tricolouredwristbands

Thoughts on 'Skull Island' (2023)
So, I recently gave the Monsterverse's new 'Skull Island' series on Netflix a try, aaaaaaand...
-
I consider it time well-spent.
-
Some thoughts...
In terms of the human characters, this might be my favourite Monsterverse installment to date. The humans weren’t overacted, pretentious or melodramatic, nor were they two-dimensional, bland and overly-backgrounded like most of the main humans in the films I've seen so far often were. The 'Skull Island' humans were decently fleshed-out, sympathetic, empathetic (I think we can agree that Irene is a WAY more sympathetic maternal figure going about her goals in a questionable way than Emma Russell was). The writers didn't get overambitious when writing the series' humans, nor did the production/post-prod make them too secondary to the Titans' role.
I can imagine a lot of people are annoyed that Kong was backgrounded to a nearly 'G:2014'-level while we focused on the new characters, but me? I think it worked here better than it did in 'G:2014' because (a) Kong v. Kraken at the climax wasn't cut away from too much like Godzilla v. Mutos was, and (b) I think that committing a whole episode to Kong's past and his POV helped balance the overall human-monster narrative out, so that this series didn't feel TOO human-focused. And (c) the buildup to Kong's climactic fight in this series made the payoff feel all the more satisfying, compared to how one or two of the MV's more monster-focused films were a bit more spammy with monster fights from the first act at the cost of buildup and payoff. And after watching three very different MV films (and a Better Than Canon continuation fic, @hrodvitnon ;)), and now this series; something I've discovered about myself is that I'll take monster stories with characters that genuinely move me, and a balance of action; over monster-action-fests that have no satisfying story nor engaging characters behind them any day.
Speaking of which. Kong's past, man. Kong's past...
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/abf1111f578a62480e69aebd9e2e82b1/4278f2bfb97ca30e-9e/s540x810/079623d4befbac230559778b28778eb3fe4afd04.jpg)
And Dog and Annie's tenderer moments kinda got to me too.
I was surprised and delighted by how emotive Kong was in the animation style. Had a total “did the monkey just talk” reaction to him doing an eye-rollat the start of the origin episode. :D The Kraken had a gorgeous design and was a vicious bastard who I loved seeing Kong beat the ever-living snot out of when the time finally came! :D :D Those ethereal shots of Cap seeing the Kraken glowing underwater in the first episode really harkened back to what made the Monsterverse in KotM so visually stunning. :O :O.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/dff9a599114d5e8817c72f527127f402/4278f2bfb97ca30e-f4/s540x810/97ac977dce80cb51352f37b8a294cdfd3a85e36d.jpg)
By far, this show is one of my favourite pieces of media the Monsterverse has churned out so far, and I'd really consider it a good choice if the MV were to really use this series as a model for storytelling and humans when going forward.

Spoilers for One Piece 1102!
Things I liked last this week:
cover page good yes hotdog
I still really liked Bonney's pre-time skip fit even if the recent revelations have soured me on it a bit.
Its so surreal seeing early OP events happening from this alternative perspective, it feels like reading history...
"Rogue-town?" I wonder if this panel is Oda slyly acknowledging that one fan theory...
Yeah!! Stealing!! Not helping!! Big cool pirate shit!!
I love that a 10 yo's idea of lipstick application is accidentally a total look, trés chic young Bonners
I fucking knew that her piercing would be some sort of nod to her disease appearance but this is even sadder than I expected...
"Even I might pass out from this one" Zoro fans eating this acknowledgement, chewing it delicately, savouring it like a succulent Wagyu morsel
NOTHING HAPPENED BUT EVERYTHING HAPPENED
Kuma sneaking around!! like a silly bear searching for honey!
Pre-time skip Robin... thank you for the festive meal...
This part is genuinely hard to read... Kuma knowing what will be done to him for saving the Strawhats, Vegapunk trying desperately to bargain with Saturn, Kuma wanting to help one last time, believing in Luffy, grateful to the end...
Seeing this animated is going to kill me, calling it now. I can barely take it reading through it again. Reading this on Sunday was the second time EVER I've cried reading a comic.
So full of love and gratitude until his final moment of sapience... Kuma might be my favourite OP character now. Some of that might is definitely recency bias talking lmao, but I have a feeling that will still be true by the time this gets animated. AND that panel of Bonney right the end, the double whammy of her confirmed to have seen all those memories, and confirmed to be only 10 years old... Her basically being aged up to continue be sexualised still turns my stomach, but a tiny part of that still hits emotionally...
God lads, I'm glad we have next week off, I need some time to recover from that. But i'll see ye there in 2024 💪✖️

I feel like Madoka Magica is kind of overrated in a sense by people who try to act as if it's the only magical-girl anime that could ever possibly be considered good, but that's not a problem with the quality of the programme and more a problem with people having unchecked biases
But yeah, even if the series had a completely humdrum story and not a really tightly-constructed one the animation would still make it really stand out as something worth watching, at least for fans of animation and artier film making
The thing is as well that the original twelve-episode programme manages to use its really unique presentation to make something that's really accessible and straightforward to follow even for a newcomer to anime or the magical-girl genre
In contrast Rebellion is kind of lacking in accessibility though; a decade on I think it's one of my favourite movies of all time and the final twenty minutes or so might be one of the most beautiful pieces of filmmaking I've ever seen, but I'd be lying if I said my initial response to watching it wasn't "what the hell was that?" in the same way it seems to be for many other people
the thing about madoka magica is that it has the vibe of something that would be super overrated by annoying people who have never actually experienced the object of its homage in earnest, but no, is literally just an extremely good magical girl show with dark elements. it just keeps showing its hand over and over again, but it has so much to offer on the other side of its misdirections. i saw it when i was a teenager and i think it might have transed my gender at the time

Digital interview with @thewritersplace
Our editor & barista Kendra (@thewritersplace) puts the kettle on and makes herself a cup of tea, then pulls a chair up behind the counter. She is currently writing a book and is still writing fanfiction. Her favourite genres include fiction, romance, fantasy, mystery, historical fiction, and paranormal/supernatural.
What got you into writing?
It's been a long time since I started writing, so I don't recollect the first instance very well, but the most likely thing that got me into writing would probably be Nanowrimo's Young Writers Program that my 6th grade homeroom teacher suggested I look into, since I wrote a lot of what she thought were interesting stories for the English class writing prompts she gave us at the beginning of every class.
What inspires you to write?
Beyond the pettiness of I see something and think "I could do this better"? Probably just the excitement of exploring various ideas from various pieces of media that I like, or age-old tropes and concepts that I've seen in favorite books/movies.
Which are recurring themes in your writing?
You know, honestly, I'm not sure. You're probably better off asking my best friend that, since she's read pretty much everything I've ever written. I don't necessarily focus on themes when I write. So, I'd probably have to read all my stuff over again with 'themes' in mind and get back to you with an updated answer.
How would you describe your writing style?
Not to repeat myself, but what I said to the previous question also applies here. I don't know what the writing style would be since I don't really know what types/options there are. I guess I'd say mine is hopefully elegant but straight-forward and clear. I've never been a fan of flowery writing, because while it's very pretty, it's a total pain to read through. I'd have to ask my best friend what she thinks the style is because like I said in my answer to the previous question, she's read all my stuff and could probably figure out what the style is.
How do you deal with writer's block?
I don't really get writer's block, so this might be more like tips on how I avoid getting it, rather than how do I deal with it. I usually listen to music related to my WIP(s), or work on another story or fanfic, or talk with my best friend about whatever ideas and stuff I have, and where I might be getting a bit stuck. She's probably the real reason I don't get writer's block, honestly.
Do you have a wip? Tell us about it:
I do! Technically, I have six, but the main one I'm trying to focus on right now is my Dracula-inspired one, called The Road To Eternity Is Paved With Blood. I'm more or less pulling from the novel, with some other stuff being pulled from the movie Dracula Untold, and some inspiration from the anime Hellsing. The latter was actually the biggest inspiration for my novel, and I've written fanfic for it, but my story obviously is different not just for reasons like copyright, but also for the fact that I've always wanted to do a Dracula/vampire story and put my own spin on it.
Have you already published your writing? Include a link to your published work so we can share it.
When I did the Nanowrimo Young Writers Program in middle school, they published the two novels I did for the event (one for each year I did it), but I've never been able to find either version online at this point. I have hard copies of the second book, though they are lost to the abyss that is my parents' house at this point. The other two things I've published are an academic paper that was my senior thesis, and a poem to a lit magazine. Unfortunately, the lit magazine's website is currently protected by a WordPress login, so I don't have the ability to get that link to the poem, but for those interested in viewing it, here is the tumblr link (this is my main blog). You can find the academic paper here.
You can tell us more interesting stuff about you here:
I don't really have much that I deem 'interesting', but a few facts about me are that I have been writing for over a decade, and while most of that has been fanfic, I've worked on a few original works here and there, including my six current ones. Outside of writing, I'm a graduate student in her last term, and work as a part-time studio manager for a small yoga studio. For those interested in her because of the mentions I made in some of my answers, here is my best friend's tumblr @bwaldorf

"GOT YOU"
This derailed rather quickly, the running theme ig, is "got you" so there’s some angst, some crack and some fluff. (Divider made by @planetaryrph ) I intended to use it throughout the whole post? But tumblr is being an asshole so Im taking what I can get. Sorry if the formatting is weird.
Lucifer - the eldest rubbed his temples as he signed his last papers for the night, sighing. Finally, he could take a moment for himself, before going to bed. It had been a long and frustrating day, with too many interruptions, too little coffee and not enough of you either. While he was locked up in his office, his brothers were- bzzt- His thoughts were pulled away as he checked his phone, immediately wishing he hadnt. Of course...always more to do...
He would blame it on the sleep deprivation, but tears started to well up in the corners of his eyes as repressed emotions of being overwhelmed and overworked started to take over, his mind spiralling towards self deprication as his forehead hit his desk. Never enough, its never enough and nobody apprecia-
"Lucifer?...." your voice cut through his thoughts easily as he dazily looked up at you. Sleepy tear filled eyes met yours as he melted into the warmth of your hand on his cheek, a kiss pressed into your palm as you pressed one against his head. You pulled him close so he could listen to your heartbeat. "Come on sweetheart. I've got you. Lets go to bed....we can figure things out in the morning...and I'm here to listen if you need it...or just to hold you." You pet his hair softly as he worked himself up to standing enough to hug you, rocking slightly before he was ready to go.
Mammon - "Mammon? Are you ok?" The two of you had just been cuddling for the past few hours, and you were curled up on top of him. Which meant you felt his chest heave before you heard the soft whimper that left him as he held you close. "I-I dont know whats goin' on I j-just....promise ya wont ever leave me...I c-couldnt...I-" he couldn't seem to get the words out, but it was clear some less than favourable thoughts as he held you. You sat up a bit and turned, bumping your forehead against him. "Mammon, listen to me. I will never leave my first man...you've got me...and I've got you...the most important treasure in the world." You smiled softly and pressed a kiss on his nose, causing him to crack a smile and laugh a tiny bit before he reciprocated.
Levi - "Well well well...what do we have here?" Levi froze in his seat, the show continuing to play in front of him as he turned and gave you a small smile. You looked rather unimpressed-
"IM SORRY I COULDNT WAIT YOU WERE STUDYING WITH SATAN I JUST NEEDED TEN MINUTES AND YOU WOULDN'T HAVE SEEN MEEEE" he whined, crawling over his couch and coming to grovel at your feet on his knees, hands clasped together and above his head. "IM SORRYYYYYYYY but the anime 'I really like my best friend but my self esteem is too low to see it until I see parallels in our favourite media make me think I have a chance" is so good!!!! I just HAD to watch one more episode!!!" He pouted and looked up at you, which broke your annoyance, poorly concealed with an exasperated, but light hearted sigh. You smiled down at him. "Fine but if I get you again you owe me a complete rerun of my favourite anime." He stood up and smiled brightly, blushing a little. "I might have to get caught again if it means more time with you." Before immediately hiding in his hands and laughing nervously at himself.
Satan - "IM GOING TO SHRED YOU TO FUCKING PIECES YOU FUCKING C-"
"SATAN STOP THATS ENOUGH" you stood between him and the demon that pissed him off, glaring at him. His entire body had waves of wrath rolling off of him, eyes aflame with nothing but contempt and rage.
"GET OUT OF THE WAY!"
"Satan. Look at me. I'm not hurt. His words leave no mark. He doesnt matter, but your actions DO. Give me your hand."
He hesitated, shifting from foot to foot in his giant form as he settled down, extending his hand to you. You rubbed small circles in his palm. "Try to match my breathing." He did as you said slowly returning to his normal form, staggering forward as the display of power had tired him out. "I got you, I got you.. and I wont let you fall..." you pet his hair softly and buried your face in his hair and neck. "Lets get you some food, hm?" You just got a grumble in response.
Asmo - "ugh my love you would not BELIEVE the day I had-" you were trying to focus on some work you had been given, and knowing the tone of his voice, it wasnt an emergency. It was Asmo being Asmo. "Welcome home hun. I just need to get this done and then I can give you my full attention-" you pecked his cheek without looking at him, and then turned to face him to see his pout, giving that a kiss as well. "Baby I promise, fifteen minutes and then I'll be completely and utterly yours." He sighed dramatically and rolled his eyes before grabbing your face once more for one more kiss "Youre already mine.....but...Fiiiiiiiine, fifteen minutes on the dot and I'll be on the bed waiting~"
After fifteen minutes of dramatic sighing and "are you almost done?"s you decided that regardless of whether you were finished or not, it was time to be with Asmo. He was in his comfy clothes and had a facemask on, but his eyes and smile lit up as you came and sat on the bed, his movements practices as he laid his head in your lap and waited for you to pet his hair, purring. "Alright, you've got me...now tell me about this crazy day of yours my love..."
After nearly an hour, Asmo was a purring mess under your touch as he came to the end of his ramblings. "And you wouldnt believe it- when I came home, my beloved made me wait!! Can you believe it?!" He grinned cheekily as you leaned down and bumped your nose against his in a bunny kiss. "Noooo, really? Well did they make it up to you?" You leaned in to close the gap between you, kissing his lips softly as he smiled.
"Yeah. They did."
Beel - "Beel....Beel wake up" bleary violet eyes adjusted to seeing you above him in the dark. You gently slid your thumb across his dampened cheek. "You were having a nightmare agai-" you were cut off as the gentle giant pulled you in and used you as a teddy bear. He buried his face into you, curling up as small as he could. ".....can you hold me like this for a bit..." though you wouldnt really say you were holding him in this position, but you nodded anyways, wriggling up so that his head was on your chest. "I got ya big guy....everythings ok..."
Belphie - "BELPHIE GET YOUR ASS UP ITS TIME FOR SCHOOL" "Jesus do you have volume control? Calm down its only...only.." he fumbled for his phone to check the time, eyes widening just slightly before he shrugged. "If Im already that late I have no reason to go at a- hey" he protested slightly as you dragged him out if bed, in response to which he deathrolled all his blankets so you were dragging a burrito around. You "helped" him get ready for school as he was in and out of sleep..."helped" like a three year old might, complete with an outfit worse than Satans, a drawn on mustache and about fifty tiny topknots in his hair. He finally woke up enough to eat some brunch before stumbling outside. He didnt register that anyone but you and Beel were there. You and his siblings waited a solid two minutes before he walked back in, dazed and confused and a little damp from the rain. "....its Saturday isnt it"
It took everything you had not to laugh yet. "Yep." He glared at you slightly. "....I'm gonna get you even worse next time" he grumbled as he walked to the bathroom.
"What do you mean????"
"THERE ARE PUDDLES OUTSIDE MC, I SAW WHAT YOU DID"
Diavolo - "...Dia..." he turned and faced you, looking guilty. "Dia....sweetheart....how are you not terrified of Barbatos finding out-" His face lit up a little bit but did look a little scared at the mention of Barb, and as you started laughing. He raised a finger to his lips and pulled you into his lap, pouting as he fixed his chin onto your shoulder. "....you can have some pizza too if you promise not to tell him..." you giggled a bit and kissed his cheek. "I wont tell him...but if I managed to catch ya, dont you think he will?" He whined softly, burying his face in your neck. "If Barb catches me I'll get an earful of why I shouldnt order food and how if I appreciate him as a butler I should just ask to eat his food but its always super healthy....unless its dessert..." he muttered and nibbled on your ear a bit, making you squirm and giggle a little. "Thats ok...next time I'll sneak it in...he wont get...that mad at me-" you laughed a bit as he beamed, kissing your cheek and offering you a bite of his pizza before taking one for himself.
Barbatos - He woke up with a small gasp and tried to sit up, but a gentle hand on his shoulder pushed him down. "Rest" his hand came up to meet yours on his shoulder as memory of what happened rushed back to him. Weakly, he tried to sit up again as he swallowed down his embarrassment. "I have to go back mc..." though his resolve faltered as your cool hand stroked his hair away from his damp forehead. "You fainted in the kitchen- do you have any idea how high the fever you're running is?" "But the gala-" "Nobody knows. You had everything set up in the kitchen so Simeon took over and Satan, Asmo, Lucifer and Diavolo are more than capable at holding the guests' attention. The healers came in...said you'll be ok as long as you rest.....please...let me take care of you..." you pleaded with him. You wouldn't say anything about it, but as he mushed a bit into your hand, closed his eyes and graced you with a very rare, soft purr, it was possibly the best moment youve ever had. "....fine...but just this once." You smiled. "Of course."
Mephistopheles - "....MC, this Nightmare and I have a very good bond, I know you're trying to sneak up on me." He turned, a very smug smile on his face as he caught you in your tracks, a few stables down so as to not spook the majestic horse Meph was leading. You pouted a bit as you walked carefully up to the opposite side of the mare, gently petting her mane. "Youre no fun Mephi" "At least I'm not trying to scare a man with a cane." As he spoke you took the reigns and stopped the horse early so he could go open the stable. "Oh did you close this too? How convieni-" he was about to be a sarcastic bitch...until he jumped back as a rubber spider popped into his face.
"....you move pretty fast fo-"
"Shhh uppabababa I don't want to talk to you right now-" he took a deep breath with a hand to his chest trying to calm down before glaring at you, dusting himself off and moving one stable down to lead his horse into. He had hoped you would have left him in peace after your "victory", but instead he was greeted by your shit eating smile as he locked the door. ".....fine....You got me...but nobody witnessed it...so nobody...will believe you." He smiled and booped your nose as he walked out, swinging his cane. Your face fell in realization. "....THE HORSES WILL KNOW...MEPH..MEPHIIIIIII"
Simeon- "SIMEON!" You cried out in alarm at the ang-....the fallen angel splayed out in front of you. You ran to him, holding his face softly as you searched for any signs of life. Scorch marks were visible all over his body, his face sooty and slightly bruised. He groaned softly and you sobbed in momentary relief- he was alive. You pressed your head against his softly, another sharp sob leaving you as his hand came up and stroked your cheek. "...hey-" was immediately followed by painful sounding coughing. "Simeon, shhh, shh please, save your strength...you're gonna be ok...help will be here soon..."
Bright blue eyes met your own, filled with nothing but absolute adoration. "Theres...theres something Ive been scared of doing for a long time....can you come closer so I can tell you?" His voice was strained, barely louder than a whisper. You nodded tearfully and leaned in, only to be pleasantly surprised as he pulled you into a long, deep kiss. Both of you panted slightly as you pulled away. "Now I plan to understand...everything I was missing before." He smiled, and leaned in for one more kiss.
Raphael - no. I refuse. Wet cat, paper bag pathetic ragdoll man gives off annoying second grader energy. Smh how am I supposed to write for that. At least Luke is old enough to be in fifth grade. Yeah I know I have a whole series dedicated to the characters as children. That doesnt matter. Now Im just writing to fill the space. Make it look like I have ideas. I really dont. (I mean this all affectionately)
P.S if someone reblogs this with their own take of "got you" I'm kissing you on the head.
Luke - “I’m not a baby, I can make it across the monkey bars myself!!” He swung gleefully, trying to dissuade you from following behind him. It wasn’t your fault he brought out a protective side of you!! Despite that, you relented, staying at the opposite end of the bars. He landed at the end, turning and smiling triumphantly. “See?! I did it!! I told you I could do i-woAH!!” in his excitement, he accidentally slipped off the landing, falling to his butt on the gravel.
"You ok bud?" You supressed your amusement as he stood up to inspect the damage. He sighed and immediately tried to beat the dust off his shorts, giving up when there seemed to be no difference. "Nooo I don't wanna have a dusty butt!!" He whined.
"Well, I can't fix that for you this very moment, but it's not that bad Luke! If yoj really want to, we can go back so you can change, but Im sure a few minutes of running around will make it difficult to see...ooooor we can go get some ice cream and we can sit down for a bit-" you gave him a small but knowing smile. He lit up, fists shaking as he bounced in place.
"Ice cream!!! Can I get sprinkles on mine?!!"
You smiled down at him. "You can get anything you want!"
Thirteen - "What happened?" You spoke softly as you wrapped the bandage around Thirteens arm. She sighed, looking off in the opposite direction at the ruins at her trap. "I don't know...I ain't never built a faulty trap...never..." You glanced up at her, a little worried as you had never seen her this distraught or distant before.
Her head soon turned as she felt you turn place a few gentle kisses over the bandage, wide green eyes wonderfully complimented with the growing blush on her face.
"H-hey, what're y'doin?"You smiled softly and pulled away. "Kissing you better...." your smile widened as the woman in the chair attempted to hide her face behind her good hand. "....are you o-"
"STOP MAKIN ME SO GODDAMN SOFT FOR YOU! JESUS CHRIST-"
Solomon - "SOLOMON WAIT!" You burst into Barbatos' room, just to see Solomon standing in front of a portal with a small briefcase in his hand. You were panting with the effort it took you to get there and with the sobs that threatened to tear themselves from you. Your sniffling ultimately gave away you were close to crying, but he didnt turn to face you, refusing to show you the unshed tears in his eyes. Staring into the portal- this one would take him somewhere he could try to be happy without you...it seemed impossible but he was willing to try. Clearly, you didnt need him anymore. He kept his voice as calm and quiet as possible. "...can I help you MC?"
"Help me?! Tell me whats going on! Where are you going? Barb said something about me possibly not being alive for the time you come back, and you were gonna leave without saying good bye?!" The words spilled like a waterfall, but all you wanted were some answers.
Solomon cleared his throat slightly, but his voice wavered as he spoke over his shoulder. "You've finally pacted all of the most powerful demons in Devildom...you've become friends with high ranking angels...you've befriended one of the thirteen reapers...what use does anyone have for me? What use am I to you? I know that to most I'm an annoyance. It's about time I realized you see me the same way....so good b-"
"Dont you fucking finish that sentence." You pointed at him accusingly. Tears started to stream down your face. "Don't you say good bye to me. Don't leave me, please don't leave me. You're- you're not an annoyance, you're my mentor, my..my partner in crime, my everything, you cant- why are you go- where i- what use? Are you out of your mind? You're my friend, not a tool! I love you, why would I use you, what benefit would that have for me?" You didnt realize your own confession, barely suppressed sobs threatening to spill as you fell to your knees, sobbing. A final plea left you as you buried your fave in your hands.
"Please don't go-"
You shuddered and balled up more as the faint purple light from the portal disappeared, another sob leaving you as you were terrified to look up and see if he was gone.
In a moment you felt the familiar warmth of Solomons cloak around you, sobs of relief coursing through you as he knelt down and pulled you close to his chest. Tears of his own rolled down his cheeks as he looked up at the ceiling, and you clung to his coat.
"P-promise you won't leave ever leave me-"
He looked down towards you, loosenjng his grip on you slightly before tilting your chin up to meet his own tear filled eyes.
"I promise. And...I'm sorry I never told you I loved you before...." he smiled softly through his tears, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead. "I promise to make up for lost time too."
