i do find it funny how in trying to make ein's writing less weird they made zack a less interesting character
#ein and aph being siblings is a Good Plot Point actually#because it shows zacks hypocrisy#and removing that sort of . makes zack a little more bland#his favoritism towards aph is what makes him turn to her side#and his insistence that ein is evil and a monster makes Less Sense if he hadnt known ein his whole life#it makes his hatred of ein a little more relevant too. like you can extrapolate the hatred he has for ein is a subconscious hatred -#- of himself. he obviously cares a lot for aphmau and the divorce kept them separate. if he never had ein. if he never broke sylvanna's -#- trust he would be able to be the father he wanted. but his own greed would catch up to him. he wants money and power. which are things -#- ein wanted too. but because zack couldnt admit to himself that he was selfish and uncaring he had to demonize his son for those wants.#it takes both of his children dying for his hypocrisy to catch up to him. “either they both matter. or they don't.”#zack chose his daughter and michael knew exactly how to make it sting more. compare her to the son he hated. the son who would never be -#- what zack had wanted. “you made your choice with ein and I just balanced it out”.#sorry baout the ramble im feeling a team emerald lore mood this morning hey.
