jfkfkdkddk i just realised it's gonna take me a couple months to release my video essay so maybe i'll just blurt out some of my tanz der vampire hot takes now
- ALFRED IS THE MAIN CHARACTER come on you guys,,, you can like and be interested in other characters but it's a problem when the show itself doesn't remember how it was written. The very structure of the show (music, dialogue, plot, scenes) rebels against trying to change this and productions that push him aside just end up jumbled and messy. It's literally a main reason Kunze hated Broadway Tanz
- tied to this, so many people view carpe noctem as this "haha weird random nightmare dance number, guess it was added to pad the runtime" like no... that is literally a way for the show to metaphorically recap and further develop the central themes of the show to the audience at the beginning of act 2... open your eyes...
- I'll take Kunze's "tdv is a musical symbolizing the fall of the berlin wall" (true take of his) over "a longterm relationship with krolock is the ultimate way for sarah to liberate herself" any day. 😭

jun 24th
i need to write more often- so much happens in a day, let alone a week. I'm still talking to my friend. so, lets see- i went to the orchestra - it was beautiful-%100 % would do again and again. Marci- oh Marci... i try to not be so fucking weird- she has been solid but there have been little inconsistencies in some of her stories that make me feel.. uncomfortable . nothing huge but dam if my brain doesnt fixate on those little things. I mentioned i was talking to my friend and she lost her shit- lost it.. raised her voice- Mexican, Mexican, Mexican... she is the most liberal person i have ever spent any amount of time with and wow- i was surprised. She caught herself mid scream and said forget that he's Mexican- blah blah blah... this from someone who has been dating a man for 3 months and knows with 100% certainty he is her forever person. i guess it's possible but 3 months is a short time to make such declarations. one of the supervisors is a narcissist- i am sure of it. the same one who accused me of lying when i said she said something and she claims she never said it. 2 weeks ago she was saying her and i needed to hang out over the weekend. she made a comment like I didnt have any friends so i might as well hang with her- she was putting me down- i just smiled and didnt say anything- she kept on me too- what are you doing this weekend- i know you dont have any friends.. this week she started saying things about me not working- she also told one of my reps to watch out for me because i talk shit- my rep told me she needed to have a meeting with me and she let me know- im not surprised and i believe it- this is the 3rd person, that i know of that she has said this to. All the while she comes to my desk and we play nice with each other. Ive complained about her 2x to management for 2 different things and nothing-i'm not going to defend myself i dont give a fuck what she tells people and i dont give a fuck what they believe. i started a new supplement in the hopes it will help with my depression. my friend at work who needed xanax to feel better is already abusing them.. i think it's been about 2 weeks. she told me she's taking them like candy. she looks like crap and sounds like crap and i'm guessing the xanax hasnt solved all her problems like she thought for sure they would. the guy who told me to watch my mouth blocked me because i wouldnt let him come to my house and fuck me. he sent me the nastiest dick pics i have ever seen- just.. gross. another guy 2 boats, 2 houses..boring-i'm learning to read spanish so thats a plus.

K you dont have to respond anymore just keep Islam and Muslims out of your mouth. And no self-defense doesn't count as violence. If someone wanted to kill you and you defended yourself than the media framed you as a barbarian you'd be pissed off right?
1. Not just any stealing, like if an orphan steals for example they are not punished, it depends on what the person stole and of what value it was. The Qu'ran actually tells us to cut them off of support and put petty thiefs in prison. Other punishments apply to much serious crimes. Most people consider the bible inhumane and immoral too, whats your point?
2. So what about it? The bible mentions how different nations treated different prophets sent to them (I.e with contempt), how are we supposed to trust that? If Islam were a religion of violence and Muhammad s.a.w was a warlord than he and his followers didn't have to make up a reason to fight the pagans they could've just said "oh they are the enemies of God anyway". SubhanAllah I'm actually creasing at how far some of you Christians reach with your arguments, how on earth was the battle of Badr started by the Muslims? Can you elaborate on that?
3. Once again, war is allowed in Islam but you cant just declare war whenever you feel like it, it has to be for a reason. The bible has it too, for fricks sake stop critiquing Islam on what your God allowed too. Yeah they were punished for waging war not for refusing to convert. If they did succeed in that, you can only imagine what they'd do to the Muslims.
4. Relax bud not every Muslim wants to pin shoot you with a bullet made of banana leaves and staple bombs to your ear. There are good and bad Muslims. Good and bad Christians. There are good and bad ppl in every religious group so stop singling us out. At this point you dont even attack the Quran or Islam you are attacking what Muslims are doing. Many Muslims oppose todays leaders and btw just bc you're considered an "Islamic leader" doesn't automatically qualify you in the deen.
Please look to early Islamic scholars and show me the fatwas they issued on apostasy and compare them to these misguided "Mullahs". You mention suicide bombings but you can hardly bring up a verse that MENTIONS them. You can't refute Islam. You can't prove Islam is an inherently violent religion. You are only proving your ignorance on the matter, I don't give a damn about what Muslims say I'm asking you to bring me a verse from the Qu'ran, a text from the hadith and a TAFSIR. Also I can pull reciepts abt what yall Christians have been up to throughout history but I won't, I'm only looking at what your bible says and according to what I've examined they weren't far off. Show me where Prophet Muhammad told his followers to spread the religion by sword or where he was a merciless warlord.
7. M8t without substantial evidence you can't make a case thats why we Muslims require witnesses unlike you guys. The truth is ppl back then were ignorant and thought that if women didn't bleed on their wedding night they must have committed adultery. Also notice that the man is fined and has to pay the womans father (not her, even tho she was the one humiliated.) 50 sheckels. Its all about the fathers honor and not her.
The bible does in fact shame women and has been the main source of their oppression as far as I can recall up until the feminist movement took place and more liberal Christians kept popping up to say "the bible is actually very empowering for women xx."
I can tell YOU don't read your bible bc wdym it doesnt allow sex slavery. Are we talking about the same book?

Notice how it says he dishonored her? Looks like this verse suggests he might have in fact forced himself upon her. Also pls can we put aside the myth of 72 virgins its literally 2023 I can't believe yall are still not over that. No, there is no such thing as 72 virgins, its a mistranslation.

Feminism in ACOTAR
(This is a bit long so bare with me)
As a politics student and general member of the public who's curious about feminist themes, I've read a lot of feminist writings which have informed my opinion in saying that none of the acotar books can be described as feminist.
I've noticed that the big motivator behind describing the books as feminist is feyres appointment of High lady. Though that may be pivotal in prythian history, we cant ignore the fact that it is still a fairly patriachal society. Having a few women in places of power like mor, amren, feyre etc. Is not enough because women don't grow up on an island and are also influenced by patriachal views or mindsets. In short, just because someone is a woman and is in a position of power, doesnt mean that they will cater to the needs of women or are feminist. Women, especially white women(this is important because sjms writes white feminism) have often gotten into positions of power and actually ignored women and done the same that their male predecessors have done and often threw other women under the bus in order to retain their tokenism status. And the main flaw of white feminism which is the reason why it coined the term 'white feminism' is that it doesnt encompass all the intersectionalities that women reside in and only focus on a western model of what it means to be a woman and anything outside of that is backward and 'barbaric. We see this in the judgement and disregarding of POC's experiences and outlooks on life because they are different to theirs. There are more than enough examples of the white women in the series judging the illyrians which are seen by the fandom as POC's and how they maliciously drag their customs through the mud. Instead of getting these views from illyrian women themselves, we get them from white women who arent connected to that culture whatsoever and who have nothing to say except judgement and critique instead of actually helping.
We see this with the white characters views of illyrian cultures and their conclusion of the condition of women without even having a single conversation with illyrian women. Illyrian women in this set up have no agency and no voice and that leaves the women of the IC to speak for them which is counterproductive. This is wrong in that many western cultures have misinterpreted different cultures and ignored the women in those societies as being disenfranchised and have used this as an excuse to invade and colonize under the guise of liberating women when in actual fact they dont care about the women at all, and are only concerned in reaping the benefits of that culture and keeping them under their control. An example of this is rhys ignoring the treatment of illyrian women but reaping the benefit of having illyrians fight in his wars.
Feyre as high lady
It's unfair to judge feyres actions as high lady as yet because we've barely seen her act, but from the little that we know, she follows Rhys' every action and decision without question. And rhys hasn't done anything for the improvement of women's position socially or economically at all (we all know the state of the illyrian camps) in all the 500 yrs he's been high lord. Apart from Rhys, the inner circle has 2 women in the highest leadership positions and even they havent done anything and have even ignored the plight of women under their jurisdiction, (mor with Hewn city) I dont even think amren cares about anything besides her jewels tbh. So it's fair to assume that feyre will follow in those very footsteps. She already has biased and low views on the illyrians and people who reside in hewn city to the point where she participates in the 'pimp and whore' act that she puts on t deal with them. And we've never seen her speak to illyrian women so to her their voices and autonomy dont matter.
Male feminism in the IC
The only male who can be seen as being feminist in the series is Cassian because aside from simply declaring that wing clipping is illegal, he actually does the ground work to ensure it doesn't happen by offering the women to train with him. Though this is a weak cure for the issues the women face in Illyria, it's a start and far more work than anything the other characters have done in the name of women empowerment.
Another so called feminist figure in the series is rhysand. Why he's described as such defeats me, but I'll go through some points to prove that hes nothing of the sort.
1. He created a library for sexual assault survivors.
Though this is a nice effort, it can't be described as feminism because he doesnt extend the same courtesy to the other women in his territory and is only concerned with women in Velaris. Supporting women who worship you isnt feminism isnt feminism either and we know that the entirety of Velaris see the IC as blameless gods. Based on mors history, its obvious that the women in hewn city are suffering just as much if not more but hes forsaken them to live under mors parents/abusers rule. And creating a safe house for sexual assault survivors isnt as much feminism as it is human decency. Especially considering how much money hes got.
2. Banning illyrian wing clipping
Wing clipping is still a pandemic in the illyrian camps meaning that he didnt put enough provisions to ensure that it stops. Passing a law and ensuring that it is followed are two different things and rhys clearly dowsnt know the distinction. An additional point regarding illyrian women is that it was mentioned in acofas that they were joining the men in rebelling, and if that doesnt say anything about their feelings with him being high lord and how he doesnt cater to them, then I dont know what does. This also speaks to the point of the assumption that women of color dont have agency in their own societies. He said something like the men 'manipulated' the women into joining their rebellion, which insinuates that they can't think for themselves and are completely voiceless and this is a factor of whit feminism, the belief that WOC colour cant speak for themselves and are meek and susetable to being controlled or manipulated. It is a huge possibility that the women can't really express their opinions because they are suppressed by their men, however we dont see rhys interacting with any women and getting their opinion on things. He assumes that they are forced into everything and though we havent gotten the book yet I'm gonna say this is false. The reason being if rhys was such a good high lord and cared for women's issues, why would the women side with their 'abusive' men instead of their so called benevolent high lord?
3. Rhys appointed women in his IC
First of all, appointing women based on merit and qualifications is feminism, not appointing family members and you underaged bride just because 'you love her'. Though mor and amren may be qualified, and that's a massive 'maybe', they haven't done anything to improve the lives of women. Like their high lord they are complacent and Hewn city and illyria are more than enough to prove this. What rhys has essentially done is nepotism and corruption and no one can convince me otherwise.
Going further on the inner circle women, rhys was willing to sacrifice these very women to achieve his goal and this is self serving and anti feminist. The first being abusing feyre UTM and then using her as bait for the attor, then later making a deal with eris even though he knows his history with mor. If anyone believes that these actions are remotely feminist or excusable, then feminism is not for you and need help because its abusive and patriachal.
In conclusion rhys isnt feminist, mor isnt feminist, amren isnt feminist, feyre isnt feminist, azriel isnt even in the conversation and cassian is the only one scratching the surface. Also, white feminism is an exclusive and limited way to portray and execute feminism, women getting leadership positions based on their proximity to men just advances the false notion that women can only succeed if they 'sleep' their way to the top and just because a woman is in a leadership space, thag doesnt make that state of affairs inherently feminist because women are also carriers of patriarchy.
I tried to sum up my points but for more on white feminism, feminist intersectionalites and how being female doesnt make a person feminist, I advice you read Bell Hooks' writings because she touches on these topics in far better ways than I can.

Isolation update, loosely titled "John and Selene parenting Alan".
Day 87 of Isolation on Tracy Island.
“I’m starving.”
“How nice for you,” Scott commented.
“You know where the kitchen is,” John added.
“Yeah, go make yourself a sandwich or something,” Virgil suggested.
“Make a sandwich?”
“Yes, a sandwich, you know, two slices of bread, filling in the middle, it’s hardly an alien concept,” Gordon laughed. “Make me one too while you’re at it.”
“Make it myself?”
“It’s not that hard, Allie. You need to learn to fend for yourself sometime,” Virgil told him patiently.
Alan went quiet then sneakily took out his phone.
“I swear, if you text her to get her to make you a sandwich, I’ll get EOS to wipe all your saved game data,” John warned him not looking up from whatever he was working on on his tablet, his uncanny ability to see everything still working on earth without Five.
“Like I was going to do that,” Alan huffed, but he did slip his phone back into his pocket. “I can make my own food if I want to.”
“Sure you can,” Gordon’s tone said he’d be more inclined to believe that they had Nessie living in the cove.
“I can and I’ll prove it,” he declared, stomping down to the kitchen.
I walked in about five minutes after this conversation and flopped down on the nearest couch, it didn't matter that Gordon was already there, I just sat on him.
“What’s going on? What did I miss?”
“Alan is apparently capable of making food for himself,” Scott told me. "He's proving it to us right now."
“Seriously? You guys let him go into the kitchen by himself?”
“He’s old enough to make a sandwich,” John pointed out.
“It’s also Alan,” I argued. “I’m gonna keep an eye on him and make sure he doesnt hurt himself in there.”
“Don’t help him, I know you and so does he. You’ll watch for no more than two minutes before he does something stupid, likely on purpose because he knows that you’ll take over and do it for him,” Scott warned me.
“I’m not going to help, I’m going to supervise.”
They all gave me that look that said they didn't believe me. Honestly, I didn’t believe myself either.
“OK, I might help him but just a tiny bit.”
“No, I'm being serious, he needs to learn to fend for himself a little, he can’t rely on us forever,” Scott insisted. “Don’t help him. Keep an eye on him if that will make you feel better, but you have to sit on a stool and stay there.”
I narrowed my eyes at him. “Dude, did you just tell me what to do?”
“Run...away…” Virgil hissed under his breath.
Scott took his advice and took off, yelling something about hearing Grandma calling.
“Wimp,” I muttered.
Gordon sniggered.
“He’s right though, you need to let Alan do things for himself,” John said.
“You’re not stupid enough to give me an order, are you?”
“No, I’m telling you the truth and asking you to be sensible.”
“Fine, I’ll try.”
“Want me to come with you?” he sighed. I nodded, I was going to need back up, I could feel it in my bones.
By the time we got to the kitchen Alan had already started and by this I mean he had dragged out a number of bowls and was standing in the pantry staring at the shelves.
He poked his head out as we entered and looked visibly relieved.
“She’s not helping you,” John told him. Alan slumped.
“We’re supervising to make sure you don’t kill yourself,” I told him, taking a seat at the table.
“I don’t need supervision, I’m perfectly capable of making pasta without help.”
“Of course you are, forget that we’re even here, we’ll just chill over here with a cup of coffee,” I assured him.
“I’ve got a recipe,” he informed us.
“That’s good,” John nodded, "recipes are there to help."
“Cornflakes will work as breadcrumbs, right? They’re basically the same thing.”
“I-”
John interrupted me with a gentle nudge of his elbow.
“Whatever you think, Allie.”
“I need gloves, cooking can get messy!”
As we watched he dug around in the first aid kit we kept in the cupboard because…boys and a kitchen, and pulled out a pair of gloves. Examination gloves. Whatever.
“You gotta cook the pasta first, right?”
We stayed silent, John reading something on his tablet which I was pretending to look at too but really I was watching the baby drag a massive bag of pasta out of the pantry and proceed to pour it into a bowl.
“Pasta cooks in water,” he reminded himself, turning on the tap and filling the bowl with water. He glanced from the stove to the microwave and back again.
“Please don’t let him put the bowl on the stove, please don’t let him put the-” I chanted under my breath, breathing a sigh of relief when he shoved the bowl in the microwave. Maybe he did have a little common sense, maybe they were right and he could do this by himself. Had I been enabling and babying him too much? Not that the others could talk considering I had to look after all of them just as much.
“About eight minutes should do it,” he said confidently. “I know Virgil did that with that other pasta, you know, the one that looks like a...blob. A squiggly blob. This isn’t blob pasta but it should work the same.”
I glanced at John who shrugged. He had no idea what blob pasta was either.
Alan stood and watched the bowl going round in the microwave for a few minutes with such concentration that I wondered if he’d hypnotised himself. I nudged John who looked over, but upon finding no blood on his brother, shrugged and looked away again.
“Oh, I forgot the aluminium foil,” Alan located the tin foil in the fifth place he looked, the freezer for some bizarre reason I wasn't about to try and figure out, and ripped off a large square.
With some difficulty he constructed something that looked like a very thick, very lumpy tin foil bowl with a flappy lid.
He rummaged in the pantry again and emerged with a jar of sauce, red so I'm assuming something tomatoey, and glanced at the label.
“No added sugar? Is this sauce broken? Everything needs sugar. I’d better add some, just to be on the safe side.”
“John,” I whispered, nudging him again.
“Just leave him, he’s fine.”
“Then you can deal with him when he’s bouncing around the house at 3 am on a sugar rush,” I sniffed.
John looked as if he wanted to deal by leaving the planet…again.
I watched as Alan liberally sprinkled sugar in a thick layer on the bottom of the tin foil bed.
“Needs cheese,” he decided and went to the fridge. Did he get the nice edam, the cheddar or the parmesan? No. He selected three packages of plastic, pre sliced burger cheese and some of Gordon’s squirty nightmare and brought it back to the counter.
He unwrapped all three packs of cheese and began to layer the slices on top of the sugar in his homemade bowl.
“More sugar I think, it looks like it really needs a sugar crust.”
He reached for the sugar again and noticed his cornflakes for the first time.
“My breadcrumbs!”
He selected a spatula and proceed to lift up the entire cheesy, sugary mess and, holding that in one hand, opened the box (I say opened, but read ‘rips open the box with his teeth, spilling them everywhere as the sides give way’) and crumbles a thick layer onto the tin foil with his hand. Handful, crush in fist, dump onto foil, repeat.
Eventually he appeared satisfied with this and slid the sugar/cheese pile back on top of the cornflakes.
“Perfect. Now, sauce.”
If I had thought he would do the sensible thing and mix the sauce into the pasta, I obviously didn’t know Alan, because being sensible when cooking is not in his genes. He opened the jar (with much difficulty and a very quiet swear word that he thought we didn’t hear) and dumped its entire contents into the bowl.
“Awesome, look at me, I’m cooking!” he beamed proudly at his food monster.
“Yeah you are,” I agreed as cheerily as I could force out between gritted teeth.
“Deep breaths, love,” John whispered.
“You’ve said that before and it didn’t help then either,” I shot back.
He raised an eyebrow. “Yes it did, I can think of at least three times when that was very good advice.”
“Well I wasn’t thinking of those times, I was thinking of times that involved your brothers.”
“Oh, then no, but anything is worth trying.”
“Noted.”
The microwave dinged and Alan popped it open, grabbing the bowl.
“OWW!”
I was halfway out of my seat when John caught my arm and pulled me back down.
“Don’t make me sit on you,” he threatened.
I sighed and sat back down again.
Alan glared at the bowl like it had betrayed him, offended his ancestors and told him that the Cavern Quest servers were down.
He sighed heavily and poked at the pasta with a knife, a very sharp knife that I didn't believe he was mature enough to be holding.
"He knows how to use lasers to cut through metal, he can handle a knife," John reminded me.
"Only because you guys are stupid enough to give them to him," I argued.
"I’ve no idea if it’s cooked or not.”
Obviously deciding to risk it he picked up a large spoon which at least had draining holes and proceeded to ladle the pasta out in big, dripping spoonfuls (rather than using a colander like a sane person to drain the entire thing in one go) and dumped it one by one on top of the sauce.He didn't look like he was enjoying himself.
He sighed again, poking at the cheese. “There’s like, not even a five percent chance that this is going to work, is there? No chance at all. Absolutely none.”
He looked so defeated that I just wanted to hug him.
“Be strong, you can do this, he has to learn on his own some time,” John patted my hand encouragingly. I laced my fingers with his and held on tight for dear life, needing his strength and support more than I had ever done in my life before.
“More cheese will help, cheese fixes everything.” He grabbed the can and squirted the entire thing, slowly but surely, with many disgusting noises, on top of the pasta. He then sprinkled more sugar on “for luck” and added another layer of cheese slices.
“They do garlic bread with pasta don’t they?” he asked himself. Obviously deciding that yes, they did, he found a bread roll in the cupboard and hollowed out the middle.
Curious as to just what the heck he was trying to do, I peeked over John’s tablet, watching him like a hawk.
He scooped out four big spoonfuls of butter and dumped them in a small bowl, then squeezed out half a tube of garlic paste, mixed them together vigorously and then spooned the mess into the center of the roll.
At a loss as to what to do with his garlic bread bomb he popped it on top of his creation and stared at it for a moment or two.
“Oh! It needs to be toasted!”
He reached for the chef’s blow torch that lived beside the stove.
“Al-” I began but was silenced by John’s hand over my mouth.
“He has a rocket, he can handle a little fire.”
“Gahhh!” Alan waved his hand frantically, trying to put out the flame where he’d set fire to his glove. “Oww!” he yelled as said glove melted and welded itself to his palm.
I looked at John, both eyebrows raised communicating perfectly well, without words, the fact that I had told him so.
John dropped his head into his hands, muttering about idiot brothers.
Undeterred Alan artfully charred (burnt) the top of the bread roll and then began wrapping up his tin foil parcel, squeezing it, compacting it down small, and then added more foil.
“Can you put foil in the oven?” he asked us.
“Yes, you can,” John answered for me, knowing I wouldn't stick to just one bit of helpful information. “But you can never, ever, put metal in the microwave.”
“Ah, yeah, cool cool, I knew that, I was just testing you.”
“Sure you were,” John patted my knee again, reassuring me that everything was fine.
Alan picked up his aluminum foil wrapped parcel, holding it like a baby and looked around for the oven. Now, this is a big house, with a lot of people to cook for, so we have a lot of options here.
Unfortunately he selected the wrong one.
“1000 watts, that’ll do it.”

Ping! Ting! Little sparks of lightning erupted in what was actually another microwave, not an oven at all.
Another spark, this time erupting from the microwave itself, not inside it, firing off towards us.
Alan ducked like someone had opened fire from outside, crouched on the floor, giggling nervously as the scary electrical box continued to conjure up random sounds and flickering lights.
Smoke was rising and, finally sensing that full disaster was imminent (good danger spotting skills there, babe, wouldn’t think that disasters were your job) John yanked me off the stool and pushed me under the table just as the microwave let out one last, long, loud, kitchen rumbling bang and went dark, smoke puffing out of it like a dejected steam train.
I picked myself up off the floor, using a hand on John’s head to steady myself and surveyed the destruction.
John did the same, staring at the bent door of the microwave in utter disbelief.
I opened my mouth but he hushed me with a finger on my lips, his eyes closed, praying for strength.
“No, don’t say a word.”
“Woah,” Alan coughed, flapping his hand at the offending smoke as he got to his feet, glancing at the remains of the thing that had turned out not to be an oven after all. “I think I’ll have to leave that alone for now. Any chance we can get Virg to pick up some take out?”

the handmaid’s tale s2ep11 thoughts
under the cut because spoilers
overall a pretty decent episode. it felt very much like old handmaids tale which was nice
this show’s pattern seems to be very slow start and then everything happening at the end
eleanor is quickly adding to my list of favorite characters in this show. Even if she is unstable i love that she sees through the bullshit and knows that even though lawrence was raped in this situation as well that june was raped because of him and the society he created. eleanor sees through everything in gilead and i love it
june saying she wants to kill him too you go queen
the scene with lawrence and june drinking.... while june is a motherfucking badass and she has bounced back from hitting rock bottom i dont think she’s well. and lawrence knows that too which is why he made the mental health comment. this season is definitely about changing june. there have been hints of it in previous seasons but this is when she goes through more of a personality transformation
wow the marthas really run gilead we stan
i think it’s pretty obvious from the start that serena is setting up fred. the way she said goodbye to rita, she knew she wasnt coming back. and I think her beginning nerves were because she was nervous about what would happen to fred not really tuello betraying her
and of course fred is his cocky normal self but its heightened even more when they are alone. I’m conflicted on how serena acted with fred... part of me thinks she still loves him. Because they’ve always been this delusional power-hungry team that have a connection. But then part of me viewed it like the end of the wolf of wall street where margot robbie’s character gets leo’s character to fuck her one last time and butters him up and then shes like “i want a divorce”
the scene in the woods with them at the econo family’s house was beautifully shot. the scenery, the camera work. beautiful. The conversation that took place... solidified more to me serena was setting him up. It seemed like she was saying goodbye in a way. She brought up what she was unhappy with and reminisced with him, and when he said he didnt need to live in dc i didnt believe him and i dont think she did either
but fred admitting he was sterile..... um wow if he wasnt such a terrible human i would be proud of his character development
more proof serena was planning to cross him though is that her reaction was very sad instead of like rushing to comfort him
glad they didnt show the waterfords having sex because honestly dont need that in my life and any scene of them doing it is a waste of time to me
for a second i freaked out when it looked like lawrence had abandoned them because i hadn’t read that in the spoilers for the episode
are they coming after lawrence because of his liberal tendencies? or because he wasn’t performing the ceremony?
june walking through jezebels like she owns the place. i love her confidence
the bartender being concerned about beth made me happy i feel like she’s really well liked and i hope nothing bad happens to her
also the bartender knowing about lawrence robbing all the museums is another good way of showing he isnt really that much better than the other commanders considering fred and serena did the same thing

june trying to give herself the speech and then snapping. It’s interesting because in one way it shows she has lost her humanity the way emily and moira had. one thing about june in the book was that she always “kept her humanity” and that was shown in the second season when june couldnt bring herself to kill the waterfords. But the longer june stays in gilead the more unhinged she becomes. BUT I would also argue she has more humanity now because she cant suppress her disgust anymore and so she reacts. So while its more unhinged I think its also more like a new aspect of her personality being born
love that the martha helped her and that the marthas literally cleaned up the entire scene they really are bomb ass bitches. QUEENS
lawrence giving june the gun.... what are they gonna do shoot off whoever comes to the house? or is that for when they try to escape
if june is staying and not escaping after this season i could see her truly going underground/on the run at the end of the season and not going to someone’s house to be a handmaid

fred immediatly doesnt trust him which is actually smart of fred but i also think that it was more fred was insecure about himself and projected. not that he felt something was up. just my personal opinion
fred is such a dick the way he yelled at tuello once they parked but its the way ive seen every privileged white man get mad about anything small so it was perfect delivery
when tuello said they had crossed into canada and all the soldiers came out... YESS WE STAN A KING
It was so satisfying for tuello to say what fred was being arrested for as the americans looked on. SOOOO satisfying
As for Serena.... I think my question from earlier was answered in how she looked at him. She does still love him and so part of her felt terribly guilty for playing him. So the way she was treating fred earlier was because she does love him still but also knew she was betraying him
For the next few episodes... im guessing serena defected and gave fred up or gave them both up hoping doing so would let her see holly. Which ugh. If this season ends with serena in hawaii with holly instead of nick and june in hawaii with holly im gonna fucking riot.
anyway based on the preview moira, luke and holly visit fred and serena and fred is in a jail cell and its said serena betrayed him. but I couldn’t tell if serena was in a jail cell too. My guess is kind of what i predicted earlier in the season and that serena’s long term plan when she left canada was not to get holly back to gilead but was to find a way to leave gilead and take holly with her so i imagine she will try to get custody of holly ughhhhh.
If nick and june can’t be there to parent her then luke and moira should. not serena
im interested to see what happens in the next few episodes because so far this season has been all over the place and so who knows how it will end (i know some of what will happen but not everything and i want more spoilers)

• Joseph's didnt believe Mary right away. Logic says that this is not possible.
• There are many situations where we cant figure how we will make it through it.
Matthew 1:19 (NLV)
"19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet[b] did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly."
• Joseph planned to break the engagement quietly.
• Joseph was at a place fighting with his feelings and his reality. The same place many if us fight.
Example: (The fight between feeling & reality)
I want to spend more time with family but if I take this promotion I will have less time with my family.
What does Joseph do?
• Joseph gets overwhelmed and frustrated and takes a nap.

• God specializes in things and people that were count out and taking it to a new season.
1. CRAZY WORD | God will give you a crazy word that doesn't make sense to anyone else.
• This is where we get paralyzed in pleasing people.
• When God speaks a word it doesn't have an expiration date. It doesnt have a end date no matter if your good or bad it waits right above you waiting for you to align with God's word
• A crazy word is usually given to you in a dark time.
• The problem is that when we get the word we expect others to see it.
Psalms 119 :105 (NLV)
"105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
• When you get a word from God it's a word for you and it doesnt shine for everybody else just for you and it lights just for you, for your next step is the word God gave you.
After you get a CRAZY WORD, aomething will begin to settles in.
2. CRAZY WORRY | Overcome it through God
• God may give you a crazy word in opposition yet some of us wait for our circumstance to align with the word God gave us. It won't.
• The enemy comes to give us crazy worry.
• We doubt. We ask how? We ask who? We ask can I?
PROBLEM: We get stuck in the "How" and forget about the "Who"
• The one Who "called us" and the one who "saved us".
What's the answer to the worry?
Philippians 4:6-9 (NLV)
"6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."
• The only reason we worry about something is because we believe that we don't have what it takes to fulfill the thing, situation, and or relationship.
• We worry YET, God says Don't worry. Because God has it.
• The universe exists because of one word God spoke, one time.
ACTION:
• Instead. Pray about everything
• God promises us that, even if we don't get the thing we are praying for, we will still get peace that passes all understanding.
After overcoming the CRAZY WORRY you must now decide to take the CRAZY WALK.
3. CRAZY WALK | Take the step
If your gonna take a CRAZY FAITH journey you have to take the CRAZY WALK
• (TRUST GOD) God wants us to trust. So we will either get the mountain top and not see the path or we will see the path but not the mountain top.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (NLV)
"7 For we live by faith, not by sight."
• In other words if you can see it you dont need faith. And If you cant see it, Faith is a requirement
DECLARATION:
"This will be the year where you will start walking in Crazy Faith."
Mary and Joseph got the Crazy Word. Than went through Crazy worry but then decided to walk the Crazy Walk.
• Sometimes, the hardest thing to do is to obey the crazy word God has given
When you get the CRAZY WORD you will need to endure the CRAZY WAIT.
4. CRAZY WAIT | Endure It
The wait is where God develops things that. Ant be developed on a stage.
• For me to be the CEO I might have to learn a new trade
• For my marriage to work need counseling
• God refines your heart and character in the wait
Mary and Joseph waited 9 months for the promise to be fulfilled.
• Dont give up.
• You have to go through the crazy wait.
Essential Question:
When God gives you a word and everybody else says no to you who do you believe?
• With God any setback is a set up
Galatians 6:9 (NLV)
"9 Let us not become weary in doing good,for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
• There is a "right time" coming if we dont give up.
5. CRAZY WAY | See it
God makes a way where there seems to be no way. At this level, God's power can be seen because there is nothing man can do.
• God made a way for Mary and Joseph in an obscure place.
• There are things that would need to develop on obscurity.
• After a Census was called for and Mary & Joseph were supposed to be back in their homeland, God made a way and puts Mary and Joseph in the backside of a barn. Born in the nastiness situation.a place we can relate to.
John 14: 6 (NLV)
• When you find Jesus he will look beyond your faults. What better gift could you give yourself than to find the way, the truth and the life through Christ Jesus.
The only response to God making a CRAzY WAY is giving a CRAZY WORSHIP.
6. CRAZY WORSHIP | Our response to God
Lift your hand, lift your voice, give your finances.
• In the moments when we are about to give up God makes a way.
• If we would stop living for the opinions of people that dont even care we would be liberated.

"10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh."
• We give so God can be worshipped.
The reason we get a CRAZY WORD is so that we can share God's goodness with a CRAZY WORLD.
7. CRAZY WORLD | God's goodness is shared
So that the Crazy World will know that God is real.

Me again. In my last ask, I've said that I've been spoiled about Bakugou's home life being abusive. Well, I've finished watching the anime and I haven't seen proof of it. His mother wasn't nice but to say she abused him during his childhood sounds more like headcanon to me. Is it different in the manga ?
im not gonna go look for receipts in the manga bc im lazy but in both the manga and anime when the teachers were visiting parents, mitsuki was blaming bakugou for being kidnapped and like calling him a weak bitch or whatever like. bakugou was so obviously traumatized from getting kidnapped and he already felt that it was his fault, both that it happened in the first place and that all might fell (because how all might had had to battle afo on HIS rescue mission). mitsuki calling him weak and victim blaming him is like textbook emotional/verbal abuse. even if it was treated as a joke by horikoshi. (you could even infer that bakugous inferiority complex is directly a result, at least in part, of said emotional/verbal abuse. given the clues from this scene part of the reason why he wants to be better than everyone else should be because he has constantly been verbally belittled by his own mom, so he has something to prove. okay this is kind of just character interpretation but i just wanted to put that out there)
she also slapped him like…… okay my mom slapped me sometimes when i was younger but im definitely not gonna call her abusive for that? (like im not gonna say slapping your kid is good in any way. but it was pretty infrequent and parents arent perfect, even if you love them) But the thing is when my mom slapped me it was always because i was doing something bad, but mitsuki kind of just?? slapped him upside the head out of no where???? like he wasnt even doing anything wrong??? so????? the fuck??????? that just kind of shows she is veeeeeery liberal with dishing out physical punishment which is high key Y I K E S
but while bnha doesnt show her repeatedly having this behavior (since shes only shown up in the anime like one time that i can remember) the fact that she acted this way and humiliated bakugou in front of his teachers shows that she has no shame and that this is probably normal for her.
uhhhhh. yeah if you havent read the manga then u wouldnt know about this but there was also a recent omake (well, before i stopped reading) showing like ~a typical day in the bakugou family~ and it was literally just bakugou and mitsuki yelling at eachother, throwing things at eachother, and just destroying their entire house in their rage, all why masaru was trying to get them to stop. and it was supposed to be funny but it was just immensely uncomfortable. like that omake was showing abuse. full stop.
the omake is the only thing i can think of that shows more than the anime. and i kind of get it if youre not looking into it too deeply and you dont see mitsukis behavior as abusive at first because horikoshi doesnt treat it as such, just as some stupid joke, but that doesnt mean it isnt abuse. just means that horikoshi is a bad writer and needs to fucking learn some respect. goddamn.
im probably forgetting some things but yeah. it definitely is abuse, its just that horikoshi cant write abusive situations properly so most people tend to brush it off as not real and just headcanon. i mean i know i was talking about more of current abuse rather than earlier in bakugous childhood, but the way mitsuki’s character is presented, just screams abusive to me (and many others) and the way she is written (and bakugou’s too) gives us no reason to believe that her behavior in the past wasnt the same/similar to what it is shown to be in the current timeline of the story.
(also if the manga was more explicit in general about itthan the anime: i dont remember lol sorry)

Rewatched Fire island while sewing patches into the inside of the thighs of my work jeans and trying to distract myself from the fact that ill be alone in the house for a month with me and the dogs and i paid special attn to max
So here are some notes about the movie n max thoughts.

So they all met in Williamsburg, keegan and luke were the only ones who knew each other before. We Dont know wht jobs Max,Keegan and Luke have.
Max seems pretty ... Neo-liberal? Noah describes him as "sweet" and "supersmart" but "a little uptight"
The Atwood memoir he's reading is important to note but he's probably the most... Well academically book smart than the rest and i don't think from what we know about his character that he was reading it bc he agrees w her politics or worldview. He is actually the first person we see call into question the fact that noah is kowtowing to norms by maintaining the body he does . "why would you confirm to this community's toxic body standards?" noah as the narrator agrees with him and owns up to being a "class traitor".
"and this why straight people hate us" hints towards max himself buying into the structure of respectability politics but honestly im not reading too much into the line because its often something tht lgbt folks will throw around without actually meaning it.
"its actually a logistical nightmare if you want to fuck on this island,at least if you want to do it indoors,no privacy anywhere"
This plus generally everything else show that Max is a private person,giving a narrative reason why we nvr see him kiss,fawn or fuck anybody onscreen. That doesn't excuse that Max is a part of a long line of characters who are desexualized for being Fat,Black and/or Gay,in Max's case him being all three is pretty rare in film or tv but its not rare for characters that are like him to not get fleshed out narratively.
"have you heard of ticks? How bout their best friends? Lyme disease" is why he doesn't wanna fuck outdoors so we know hes prudent

Says a lot that his response to "the island will always be there, " is: "except for the whole climate change thing". Like if something being said and it isnt true he is going to speak up abt it. ( I think there is an issue of the Fat friend in various media being the buttoned up bookish school marm type)

(Esp considering the fact tht he usually doesnt partake in the drugs that the rest of the guys do)
Once again cant help dropping tidbits, trying to reassure the others and himself that howie probably wasnt murdered statistically speaking.

Instead, many Republicans with national ambitions are openly laying the groundwork for campaigns as Trump continues to mull his own plans.

One of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump for his role in inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol announced Thursday night he will not seek reelection in Ohio next year.
U.S. Rep. Anthony Gonzalez, a former NFL player with a once-bright political future, cited his two young children for his decision and noted “the chaotic political environment that currently infects our country.” He is the first Latino to represent Ohio in Congress.
“While my desire to build a fuller family life is at the heart of my decision, it is also true that the current state of our politics, especially many of the toxic dynamics inside our own party, is a significant factor in my decisions,” Gonzalez said in his statement.
Gonzalez, 36, would have faced Max Miller in the 2022 primary. Trump has endorsed Miller, his former White House and campaign aide, as part of his bid to punish those who voted for his impeachment or blocked his efforts to overturn the results of the election. Trump rallied for Miller this summer.

As I have watched the Democrat debates I hear no discussion, or even recognition, of what is occurring. Instead I hear a laundry list of new unpaid for political promises. On the Republican side, spending is up well above President Obama.

Donald Trump is endorsing candidates in party primary elections all the way down the ballot, a level of involvement thats virtually unheard of among recent former presidents.
Whats remarkable about Trumps picks isnt just their breadth hes endorsed close to 40 candidates so far in 23 states its their seemingly random quality. Whats even more unusual is that the political goals of the GOPs de facto leader arent necessarily in sync with his own party in some cases, they are starkly at odds.
If theres a thread running through nearly all of Trumps endorsements, it is his habit of rewarding allies and punishing enemies. So far, at the national level, hes backed primary challengers to four House GOP incumbents and one sitting senator all of whom voted for impeachment.
In Georgia, where three of the states top Republicans have incurred Trumps wrath for resisting his efforts to overturn President Joe Bidens win there, Trump has been especially active.

Sen Josh Hawley Of Missouri
Though controversial, Hawley, 41, is a fundraising machine and hes quickly made a name for himself. The blowback Hawley faced for objecting to Bidens Electoral College win included a lost book deal and calls for him to resign from students at the law school where he previously taught. His mentor, former Sen. John Danforth of Missouri, said that supporting Hawley was the biggest mistake Ive ever made in my life.
Still, he brought in more than $1.5 million between Jan. 1 and March 5, according to Axios, and fundraising appeals in his name from the National Republican Senatorial Committee brought in more cash than any other Republican except NRSC Chair Sen. Rick Scott of Florida. Just because youre toxic in Washington doesnt mean you cant build a meaningful base of support nationally.
One Republican strategist compared the possibility of Hawley 2024 to Cruz in 2016. Hes not especially well-liked by his colleagues , but hes built a national profile for himself and become a leading Republican voice opposed to big technology companies.
Hawley and his wife, Erin, have three children. He got his start in politics as Missouri attorney general before being elected to the Senate in 2018. Hawley graduated from Stanford and Yale Law.

Trump has long opposed Cheney, one of a handful of Republicans to vote twice to impeach Trump, and Politico reports that backing Hageman will test his ability to get candidates into Congress.
The left-leaning political website also reported that as a final step before officially announcing her campaign later this week, Hageman resigned Tuesday as one of Wyomings members of the Republican National Committee.

Winning secretary of state offices across the country would give conspiracy theorists enormous power to wreak havoc in the 2024 presidential election, including potentially blocking candidates who win the most votes from taking office.
This is an indication of wanting, basically, to have a man inside who can undermine, said Sylvia Albert, the director of voting and elections at Common Cause, a government watchdog group. Clearly these are not people who believe in the rule of law. And people who run our government need to follow the rule of law. So it is concerning that they are running.

Local GOP Responds To 3 Republicans Running Against President Trump
Haley, 49, stands out in the potential pool of 2024 Republican candidates by her resume. She has experience as an executive as the former governor of South Carolina and foreign policy experience from her time as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
Haley was a member of the Republican Partys 2010 tea party class. A former South Carolina state representative, her long shot gubernatorial campaign saw its fortunes improve after she was endorsed by Sarah Palin. Haley rocketed from fourth to first just days after the endorsement, and she went on to clinch the nomination and become her states first female and first Indian-American governor.
As governor, she signed a bill removing the Confederate flag from the state Capitol following the white supremacist attack at the Emanuel African Methodist Church in Charleston. She left office in 2017 to join the Trump administration as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, and Quinnipiac poll found she was at one point the most popular member of Trumps foreign policy team.
I think that shes done a pretty masterful job in filling out her resume, said Robert Oldendick, a professor and director of graduate studies at the University of South Carolinas department of political science.
Haley criticized Trump following the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol by his supporters, saying she was disgusted by his conduct. Oldendick said he thought her pretty pointed criticism of the president will potentially cause some problems.

Sen Tim Scott Of South Carolina
One thing Scott has going for him that other potential 2024 contenders do not is a bunch of their endorsements. Scotts up for reelection next year, and in an ad kicking off his campaign released last week, Republicans including Cruz, Pompeo, Haley and Pence all backed his candidacy. Scott is positioning himself as a Trump-friendly conservative. In his ad, he included a clip of Trump calling him a friend of mine, and at a rally for his reelection, Scott said he wanted to make sure this wasnt a centrist crowd after asking them to boo Biden louder, according to The State.

What are your headcanons for British Columbia?
ok so disclaimer here is that i’m a fake british columbian even though i kind of sort of live there, i live on the island and the majority of my bc friends are from the coast and not the interior so most of what i can say about the interior is ‘i have driven through it a lot’ but i’ll do my best.
- on that subject bc is like… layers of depth that most people don’t see. lots of people just brush her off as a flaky ditz who is never paying attention to the rest of the country but i seriously feel she’s got a lot of Depth and a lot of spiky barbed inner monologues. She’s really geographically and emotionally impenetrable and doesn’t really let you in on what she is thinking or will do something unpredictable.
- like i don’t think people really get how contradictory bc is? its a climate of extremes that has a reputation for being mellow, its a place that is “liberal” where the Liberals are in reality worse than the alberta pcs (LOL WHAT AN ELECTION I TELL YOU), it’s a place that’s one of the resource-richest provinces in the country that makes it impossible for its own citizens to afford… etc. I think a lot about things like this when I think about how her personality works- she’s not necessarily finicky, she’s layered.
- bc has a reputation for being different than the rest of canada and its absolutely true. like as the second most western province we still tend to think of ab/sk and maybe mb depending on our mood as ‘western canada’ and bc as ‘and bc’. She’s the sort of person who Always goes her own way and makes her decisions on her own, she’s more outward looking than the others for sure.
- worst driver. Hands down. Terrible. everyone blames AB for it but it’s her, the only thing ralphie is worse at is parking.
- if she can’t see the mountains she feels naked and exposed and can’t stay too far out of sight of the mountains or she goes Nuts
- she probably lives in a relatively modern and expensive house- everything is immaculate, she has a lot of interesting artefacts and souvenirs around her house, her garden is manicured and perfect and everything smells like cedar but it also gives you the distinct impression that no one actually lives there. Looks more like a gallery because she’s trying to support local (esp indigenous) artists. no basement. cute car port and shed rather than a garage.
- she finds emotional attachments really Difficult. like it’s just genuinely hard to tell whether she likes you or not because she can be kind of backhanded or condescending even when she’s expressing genuine fondness. She makes a huge deal about being a romantic place but doesn’t really fall for anyone easily, either she gets bored or she doesn’t want to lose a friendship or w/e
- like for someone who makes a big deal about being compassionate for animals and nature she really doesn’t feel that much compassion for people- or rather, when she does it’s not easy for her to express to them
- There’s an ongoing joke that BC stands for “Bring Cash” and its absolutely true. If you want a chance with her/to impress her you have to spend like you mean it. Its not that she’s high mainten- yes she is definitely high maintenance
- Makes a big deal out of being interesting and fun but when she’s at home alone she just sits around in her underwear under a huge pile of blankets/a snuggie and watches the Beachcombers. possibly while high.
- ‘is this matcha’ ‘does it have matcha in it’ [pouring sugar in her tea] ‘matcha is like… sooo good for you… i don’t even [pouring milk and honey in her tea] like this is just so refreshing you know [more sugar]
- you know that scene in scott pilgrim where ramona reads out her entire tea cupboard to him and some of them sound made up, that’s bc. come to think of it she really is a manic pixie dream girl but one who is merciless and apathetic and could probably easily wreck you
- tea snob, the sort of person who is like ‘coffee is like so bad for you it stresses you out man’ but also a coffee snob who can’t wake up in the morning without it so its a lose-lose situation for you
- definitely volunteered with greenpeace in the 70s lol
- ‘ya i live in vancouver’ - actually lives in like PoCoMo or whatever
- once called the spoiled child of confederation and she hasn’t let that go, she probably has it embossed on a trophy somewhere in her giant collection of trophies that she has on display in the fame gua of her perfect feng shui living room
- she only makes a big deal out of ‘canadian’ things when it makes her money, she actually feels very cut off from the rest of the country but will Always appear immediately when there is a competition of any kind because she’s The Best.
- grew up extremely fast. in my mind she represents ‘ (lower) mainland bc’ while the island i represent with victoria as shorthand- they had to move in together to save money and both of them really dragged their feet about it. She’s still kind of wary about the island ditching for independence again but doesn’t REALLY take it seriously. Is the youngest of the provinces but does her best not to act like it.
- actually super confrontational like she will be doing yoga on a rock as the tide is coming in and be One With The Universe and you could be walking past her and say ‘actually vancouver’s kind of overrated’ and she will dive in the ocean and rise out of the water covered in sea onions and seaweed and barnacles like a horror movie and be like “wHaT dId YoU SaY AbOuT mE!”
- exactly the sort of person to get a tattoo in another language that vaguely is correct but actually grammatically Off like… you grow up with people like Amor de Cosmos and this is what you get
- not actually gluten or lactose intolerant, just likes being morally superior (’and like… almond milk just tastes better yknow more wholesome’)
- that person who always ends up with people mooching off her or crashing at her place- she doesn’t actually mind too much, she’s just frustrated that people only seem to come bother her when it’s convenient for them. But she doesn’t like to admit when she’s feeling lonely so i mean… xD

- she likes to make her backpack as heavy as she can, blast her own music so everyone can hear it, then schlep it all up a mountain. set everything down and turn it off, sit high up and alone with her little hibachi grill and eat salmon, watch the ravens. paint something on a giant leaf. smoke a joint. look at the ocean. whatever.
- i think exercise is her replacement for emotionally connecting with people. she rides her bike white knuckled through the rain up a hill and loses feeling in her fingers and zooms back down. Pushes herself to adrenaline rush, always trying to get better, better.
- i say a lot about her not really connecting with people but at the same time shes the sort of person that… when you’re in crisis mode and you’re under a literal or a figurative avalanche, she will spot you, grab you and pull you straight up out of it with one arm by the scruff of your neck. She’s actually really generous at heart but has just become kind of closed off after being taken advantage of too many times. Will take you home and dry you off and make a big meal for you and wait for you to tell her what’s wrong.

- has had to deal with a lot of paranoia, racism, etc in the past that she struggles to reconcile. really learning to take pride in herself again, i think she’s chinese/british, yeah but there’s also some first nations heritage too that factors into her mixed identity.
- in official positions she might skip french and go straight to mandarin/canto if the job is bilingual, not that she doesnt like french she just Forgets xD.

Like 98 percent of black people, I am not a Donald Trump fan and wish he had never been elected. I think we should make that clear. I despise everything from his Vienna-sausage-sized fingers to his ethnic cleansing political agenda. But since white people a majority of Caucasian voters selected him to be the commander in chief, I think of his presidency in the same way I think of the time my daughter begged me for a pet gerbil and tired of it after a few weeks.
And I think that, instead of doing what I did (I told her I’d return it to the pet store, but I just opened the cage in the backyard, where it was likely eaten by my dog, after which he came inside and threw up on the carpet, costing me $246.19 for a visit to the veterinarian, who told me, “He probably just ate something that upset his stomach”), America should have to keep our pet Trump for four years.
Here’s why we shouldn’t get rid of him:
1. White people will be furious.
Can you imagine how mad wypipo will be if we take down Nazi Elvis? Do you know how many “Make America Great Again” hats they’d have to throw away? Do you want to go to work with Kathy and hear how unfair it is that we allowed a Muslim to serve eight years, but a true Christian white man of God was taken down by the “deep state” liberal agenda?
And who’s gonna clean up all those brain remnants mixed with Pabst Blue Ribbon when Sean Hannity’s head explodes? How is America supposed to be great again without Trump? What are we supposed to tell our kids? (I don’t actually know what that means, but I know a staple of every white argument rests on what they are supposed to tell their kids.)
2. Mike Pence will be president.
The problem with impeaching White Supremacist George Washington is that he will be replaced by Mike Pence. Remember how we thought that killing Osama bin Laden would somehow weaken the terrorists, but instead we got a souped-up version of al-Qaida instead? Well, Pence is like Trump without a Twitter account.
If you look at Pence’s record, the only difference between the two is that Pence actually knows how to play the political game. The agenda at the White House wouldn’t change, but Pence has the political experience to actually carry it out.
In fact, many of Trump’s controversial pledges that pundits doubt will become law because of their unconstitutionality are derivatives of laws that Pence actually managed to get passed as governor of Indiana. Pence banned Syrian refugees long before Trump created his travel ban. Trump’s toothless “religious freedom” executive order actually became law in Indiana. Before Attorney General Jeff Sessions reinstated mandatory minimum sentences, Pence did it in Indiana as governor. Pence authored a bill to defund Planned Parenthood seven years ago. Trump thinks it’s OK to grab women “by the pussy,” but Pence actually tried to redefine rape as “forcible rape.”
Imagine all the crazy ideas running around in Trump’s pea brain.
Now imagine if there were someone who could make them all come true.
3. I’m still waiting on the Moscow pee video.
Look, if we impeach Trump before I get to see the video of him surrounded by Russian prostitutes emptying their bladders all over his bloated orange body, I’m fighting somebody.
I don’t even want to necessarily see the video; I just want it to be seen. I want the world to see it. The anticipation of it is the only thing getting me through this dumpster fire of a presidency. All I’m living for is that when Trump has passed on into the great beyond, every story, documentary and mention of the 45th president of the United States will have to say something about how he paid a few hundred rubles to be covered in Soviet urine.
4. The Republican Party.
Republicans stood behind Trump as their nominee, but now that they realize he is a sociopathic dictator who may be losing his marbles one by one, they want to stand up to him. The crazier he gets, the more the GOP calls him out.
Nah, bruh. Y’all created this mess. Own it.
Impeaching Trump would basically be giving a do-over to the party that was willing to do anything for power—including letting Great Value Hitler lead it. They are now trying to distance themselves from someone who embraces Russia’s election tampering and white supremacy.
I don’t want Trump impeached before he destroys the entire party. He’s doing an excellent job exposing conservative ideas as bullshit. We had to sit and listen to them hate on Obamacare for seven years, but when Trump took office, the entire country saw that the Republicans didn’t even have a plan. They talked about Mexicans and Muslims but have yet to pass comprehensive immigration reform.
During the Obama years, they hated so hard, but now, even with the House, the Senate and the presidency, they can’t get shit done. The Trump presidency is proving that they are just obstructionists devoid of ideas except how to keep themselves in power. I want him to stay until their national convention is nothing but South Carolina, NRA members and Ben Carson.
5. We might have to take some people back.
I’m not sure how it works, but if Trump is kicked out of office, does that mean we have to take Omarosa back? Will we have to allow Carson to crash the cookout? I’ve read the Constitution thoroughly, but there isn’t a clause about whether we are required to invite the people who sold us out for Orange-Sherbet Stalin to the cookout.
I’m not saying these people aren’t black, but I clearly remember trading Paris Dennard in the third round of the 2016 racial draft. I even recall the conversation:
The blacks: We’d like to offer you Paris Dennard, Stacey Dash and Jason Whitlock.
Wypipo: And who would you like in return? We are prepared to offer you Justin Bieber, Iggy Azalea and a Kardashian to be named later.

Future Sex by Emily Witt review is another era of free love over?
Single female, 30, seeks pornography, hook-ups and sex online a curious participant-observer finds a new age of sexual liberation under threat
For the last few years, Emily Witt has been dispatching gripping, keenly strange field reports from the frontiers of contemporary desire. A curious, if cautious participant-observer, she has attended orgies, inhaled nitrous oxide with polyamorists and watched college students in the midwest broadcast their fantasies via webcams, painstakingly assembling a luminous, flickering portrait of human (hetero)sexuality in the age of the internet.
Witts desire to chart new species of sexual behaviour followed hard on the heels of a breakup, an alarming rupture in what shed previously conceived to be a natural, seamless progression from monogamous dating to the permanent station of marriage. Abruptly and unhappily single at the age of 30, she was forced to confront the troubling possibility that love is not something you can ordain or engineer; worse, that it might not be attainable at all.
What if the interim behaviours in which she and her peers had been engaging the hook-ups with friends, the undating, the casual, carefully meaningless encounters were not the aperitif, but the main event? We were souls, she says, flitting through limbo, piling up against one another like dried leaves, awaiting the brass trumpets and wedding bells of the eschaton. Perhaps the future wasnt coming; perhaps coming in the present could be its own reward.
There are many reasons why a straight woman approaching middle age might shy from promiscuous sexual experiment, not least the chlamydia clinic in which Witt finds herself after a nocturnal dalliance produces unwanted consequences. The zipless fuck, as Erica Jong dubbed it in her 1973 novel Fear of Flying, was made plausible by the invention of the contraceptive pill, yet remains perennially hampered by fears of pregnancy, violence and disease, as well as more subtle cultural inhibitors.
Witt is beset by a kind of magical thinking that finds an inverse relationship between number of partners and likelihood of finding love, a nagging puritanism that supposes pleasure will be punished, abstinence rewarded. Elizabeth, her polyamorous interlocutor, had to consciously resist the inhibition of knowing her sex life affected the way she was viewed in her professional life. Monogamy was assimilated into notions of leadership and competence; other sexual choices came with loss of authority, writes Witt.
Little wonder weve become so dependent on computers for organising and enabling our erotic lives, with their promise of anonymity, their marvellous ability to mediate between bodies, displaying, connecting and transmitting at will. The internet is a frictionless utopia for the polymorphously perverse, routing desires of every possible heft and size.
Witt became single in 2011, a few months before she purchased her first smartphone and a year before Tinder was invented. There was no better place that year for assessing how technology was facilitating new models of sexual behaviour than San Francisco, where the healthy, wealthy young employees of Google and Facebook were daily sculpting the future into being. The city just happened to be a synecdoche, Witt observes of her temporary home, where the post-1960s combination of computers and sexual diversity were especially concentrated.
The problem with internet dating, as she swiftly clocks, is that even the most sophisticated algorithms are hopeless at assessing physical attraction. Women are supposed to be put off by frankly sexual content, preferring instead the clean well-lighted room approach purveyed by the marriage markets of Match.com and OKCupid. But what if you decline the moral obligation of love; what if you want something wilder, darker or less inclined to permanence? Among the alternatives that Witt explores is the website Chaturbate, where anyone with access to a computer can play both exhibitionist and voyeur, like the pallid Edith, who strips while reading RD Laing and claims to be internet sexual, and wholly celibate in her non-cyber life.
A stronger stomach might be required when Witt attends the filming of an orgy for the BDSM website Public Disgrace, during which a young performer named Penny Pax is stripped and whipped before having rough sex in front of an audience of rowdy extras. Were there any moments of genuine pleasure, an incredulous Witt asks Pax as they huddle in a stairwell. She looked at me like I was crazy. Yeah. Like the whole thing! The whole thing.
There are feminists, from Andrea Dworkin on, who would allege this to be false consciousness, a Stockholm syndrome assimilation of a violently misogynist culture. On the other hand, there are feminists (Annie Sprinkle, say) who would applaud its honest acceptance of sexual diversity, the grand mystery of specific human arousal. Or, pleasingly, is Witts byword. She perpetually interrogates her received ideas, more interested in auditing than legislating possibilities.
Meanwhile in the Google canteen, a new breed of free love advocates were diligently hashing out the rules of their polyamorous adventures. Witt is an unusually immersive journalist, and her account of the shifting fortunes of a three-way relationship is beautifully alert to irony and tenderness. Whatever you might think of polyamory, its hard not to admire the sheer labour the shared Google docs, book groups and endless, wrangling conversations that sexual liberation entails.
This is, of course, free love 2.0. The original free love movement, which reached its zenith in the 1960s, fed by thinkers such as Wilhelm Reich, believed that in going beyond religious strictures a new kind of humanity would emerge: more peaceful, healthy and content thanks to their potent orgasms. Perhaps sexual experiment also birthed a new documentary form. The New Journalism, a movement to which Witt owes a significant stylistic debt, emerged at around the same time, energised by and quick to skewer the eccentricities, hypocrisies and bleak fallout of the free love era.
The New Journalists, a loose cohort that included Tom Wolfe, Joan Didion and Gay Talese, brought the exuberant techniques of the novel to bear on the non-fiction world. Like the affectless Didion in particular, Witt possesses an extraordinary knack for capturing the aesthetics of the moment: leathery-tan nudists twinkling at passers-by in the Castro, stone fruit season at Bi-Rite. Somewhere down in Palo Alto, Steve Jobs was on his deathbed, the white aura of battery light pulsing ever more faint. San Francisco, 2011: the Summer of Emotional Involvement.
The problem with the future is that it turns so quickly into the past. Its beginning to seem as if the sexually liberal era here envisaged as permanently secured might already be under siege; that sex in the Obama era could prove as vulnerable to the rise of the ultra-conservative right as Obamacare. In Britain, certainly, the curious reader will soon no longer be able to summon up the whipping posts of Public Disgrace and its ilk.
The digital economy bill, currently passing through the House of Lords, will ban non-conventional sexual acts from the internet, applying the same regulations as are currently applicable to DVDs. Never mind whether they involve mutually consenting adults: fisting, female ejaculation and menstrual blood must be banished, our communal erotic repository censored, just as the old fleshpots of New Yorks Soho and Times Square were cleaned up and colonised by well-lit Starbucks cafes.
But it isnt only governments that threaten the freedom of the imagination, the liberty of the sexual body. There was no industry of dresses and gift registries for the sexuality that interested me in those years, Witt writes towards the end of her adventures, and some part of the reason I wanted to document what free love might look like was to reveal shared experiences of the lives we were living that fell outside a happiness that could be bought or sold.
Sex, and especially sex that doesnt take culturally sanctioned forms, is here conceived as a way to escape the consumerist imperatives of late capitalism, to experience a kind of wildness and emotional connection that cant immediately be repurposed by ads, even if its grubby or depressing or actively risky. I know exactly what she means, and I want it, too. Amazing the price you have to pay for free love.

oNce again on that sTreet
I suppose I am at a point where, i need to sit down and draw this out of me. Clean the well.
Shuba asked me yesterday. Why dont i write. I do. Almost every other day. About something or the other. As observations. Contemplations. Very rarely once in a while meanders into poetry and almost never creative fiction.
I am...afraid of fiction.
There i said it.
I suppose then its corollary goes that I am afriad of reality. Maybe.
But let me start with fiction and try and lean into the obvious and apparent fear of fiction. As i write i notice a weight, a clenching in the middle of my chest. And rolling up to my throat.
But lets persist this one time.
I am making it a point to note the very obvious physical sensations as i write.
So yes, fear of fiction.
Yesterday Rajiv shared a talk between Marina Abramovic and Alejandro I ( I forget the surname but the same guy who made birdman). Talkin about Virtual Reality as the next frontier of creative exploration after film, he mentioned about how the human brain makes no distinction between reality and fiction. Obviously more so in case of VR, but garden variety novels and comic strips and books and stories and theatre and film and all of that fall into that space where the brain makes no distinction between what is my reality lived and expereinced and, even if briefly the story of another. From experience i know, some of us are better than others at extricating ourselves from the story we entered to continue walking in the present, many of us carry the seeds and suggestions of te story, and many many of us remain in the story.
That makes stories very powerful and dangerous.
That makes story tellers very powerful and dangerous.
Layers and layers of stories wrapped around. Layers and layers of memories. Layers and layers of connections. Gateways of infinite possibilities on one had. And very own, home spun energy leeching coccoon on the other.
My brain particularly has had difficulties distinguishing stories and reality. Ive grown up with stories. Like most kids. Like most kids who loved loved listening and reading to stories and were surrounded by generous adults who lavished attention as stories of adventures great and small, stories read or retold or instantly woven.
By the time i started on film, I could watch a movie. And sit then later sit and play the whole thing back and watch it in my mind. My own personal Netflix. I could run it when ever i was alone - in the loo, before i slept, when i woke up, yada.
After my sexual encounter with an older cousin at the age of 8 years, these films began to have distinct sexual content too. I could replace characters. Mix up relationships. Easily enter relams of taboo. So while outwardly i was struggling with the shame and social anxities and adaptation, my inner world and ofcourse my body demanded the thrill of the grind. That heightended feeling when one could rub ones vagina against something. A swollen penis covered by denim, a leg, a thigh, another vagina, pillow.
Well, given a young girl in kerala, i am sure you can imagine the confusion of the middle class family facing their own share of social and emtional hardships. The school that preffers children like a batch of uniformed cupcakes. Encountering this strange child who seemed wild and untamable. Plenty of trashings and socail embarassments and isolations.
Ofcourse not to mention, adventures. And misadventures.
I suppose since my mind could go anywhere, into any restricted area, physical restrictions made no sense. I remember dreaming up a story of the romance between two of my young teachers, both married to different people. Can you beleive the thrashing i got when i started telling these stories and it finally reached my teacher.
Or of imaging the sex lives of the young Brahmin couple with a child and parents living with them. I imagined them waking up after everyone had gone to bed and first the guy would make his way to the bathroom aoutside and then the wife would follow him. And there they would have steamy sex, have a quiet shower together and sneak back into the house.
I was happily making porn even before internet.
Well. I suppose so was the rest of the state, i suppose. The older i grew, i dont think i accepted it because i probably had drawn a veil of self-propriety, most of the people around me too were living out imgained sexual fantasies. That was hard to accept.
Like knowing that my father had affairs of sorts, or walking into him holding the handsof the servant girl in the darkest corner of the house and him suddenly making a scene about her having not done some work and her giggling. Or my mother hinting constantly at my fathers transgressions and waywardness, possibly to allay her own pressures and guilt of pleasures.
Knowing that my mother lied to me about her relationship with her best friend...what was simple and liberal suddenly turned murky. And murkier when she had a strange toxic sexual relationship with the substaff in her office. Depiste the sick sadomachotistic territory it went through and put all of us through, the class-lessness also mattered to me too i suppose. And years of silence and protecting honor and holding the family together and all those things
A simultaneous tightening and release of the chest.
Why did i meander into this dark alley? Because stories are full of dark alleys. The mind is full of dark alleys. How to shine some light could be what stories are about.
BUt then, in the hands of some, its possible to turn off the lights too with stories.
In my adult identity, i am surrounded by storytellers. Not passively as a book full of shelves or a netflix account. But the creators - film makes, illustrators, theatre makers, movers, singers, spiritual seekers, dream makers. At briefly before - journalitsts, PR gus, activists, hope makers. And before that colleges/ schools - naarative makers.
So yea, I am surrounded by storytellers. I chose this, obviously. I chose in my life path to be surrounded by storytellers. Yet i want nothing to do with them .
As much as a part of me years to play and spin with them. Another part of me is terrified of them.
The tricksters.
Who can make one buy into anything. Any idea. Lose ones self in a moment.
Offer ones mind on a platter. Mind and energy.
I doubt their intentions.
What do they want my attention for?
What are they going to do with all this attention they are getting? All this fuel they draw out of people and surroundings, what are they offering it to? Whose altar do they worship?
Obviously i havent never articulated these out aloud.
I would be without friends. Well over time i have ver very few anyways. So thats hardly the problem. I suppose the reasin i have never articulated this out aloud is probably beacuse, the three fingers point at me. I suspect corruption, because i have seen corruption within me.
The creating and dismantling of identities, hunting for attention, people becoming pawns, ambition, self obsession, narcissism, vacume. Addiction to the drama.
A vehicle, for the archtypes to do their dance. Chewed and spat out and regenerated and chewed and spat out and gathering sharrered pieces of life only to be chewed again. Reminds me of the moringa. BUt clearly the moringa is not complaining. I am.
Some part of me has had enough. With the circus. The puppet life.
Another part of is there, waiting in the wings on my toes to be swept in.
While i was always curious about the mind, i suppose it was never with this focus, this drive to tame it. And somewhere even in that i know i am still dancing, even if it appears like a non-dance. Kalari, Vipassna, Tai Chi, Tantra, Ramana. Even art therapy.
All of it is for self knowledge. And ofcourse the practises are taking one there, otherwise how else would this note have been possible. Though in my attitude, i am at war. There is a war for awareness and attention. I am at war with my mind. Even as i write it, i know how futile it is - same dog pulling at opposite ends of the same bone. How? Dog will go hungry. Period.
Meaningless.
I suppose the idea is to trust ones self. And self will take care of the mind. So in effect, even trust the mind because one has already trusted ones self. But my mind has gotten me into so much trouble, made friends with the craziest of archetypes that i am afriad. Yes, i am afriad of it. That it will get me into trouble again. I wont be able to distinguish and centre. And another archtype will possess and ride me. And my mind, will let it.
And all over again, i will lose my sense of self.
Pain. Confusion. Loss of dignity. Loss of stability. All of that i associate with that. And i am just resurfacing after one recent round. Brinks of insanity.
I suppose that is why i practise and hold on to the forms that have come to me. Kalari, Vipassana, Tai Chi. Thy have travelled through time. Stood the tests of the mind to anhilate them. And with them, Ill hopefully be able to fashion a key. To keep me safe.
Lightening of chest
There i said it. And i see that i am clinging. All this, to be safe. And if it is clinging to safety, it is the ego. Which wants to be safe. The mind wants to be safe from itself. Hirlarious!
Like puppet theatre. One hand plays red riding hood and the other hand plays the big bad wolf.
Distracting me from the puppeteer.
Why?
If i see the puppeter ill want to be the puppeteer?

I know i have a blindspot. Somewhere. And my attention moves from being the red riding hood or the wolf or the chase. Maybe if i was able to spot the blind spot, ill get to be the puppeter.
The puppeteer who either a good guy or a bad guy, being puppetered in a meta play. In a meta play. Loop.
Theatre of Earth.
It endless. And no way out.

But that doesnt seem to be my question now.
It seems to be, how do i get to play the playwright in one of the plays, at whever level. What is there to lose. Its all only a play.
Playwright. Setting the frame for the magic. Or witch craft as someone in the comment section of the Marina- Alejandro talk said. Fiddling with the Tao. Not letting nature be. Not letting it be, but manipulating it. Power play.
The fundamantal question posed by monotheistic practises to the tantric/multi - must the mindscape be meddled with?
BUt then, unless we are in a continuus state of observation - are we continously always meddling with the mindscape one way or the other? Setting intention , desiring outcomes. God on No God. Arent we taking part in changing the play, upstaging the director, the playwright one way or the other.
Isnt every upstaging also written into the meta play?
What is one to do?

In flow, even doing feels like non doing - from expereince.
In earlier attempts to create full length work. Infact in earlier writings big or small, iremember most of it being largely dark, and not wanting to share / put out there the very dark ones.
My first play, petticoats still sits in paper after many rewritings.Because i couldnt bring myself to put much dark ness out there. Because in the process of rewiting it, i felt i had given into something very dark and powerful, and expereinced wanting to manipulate - lash out at the audience. Expereinced being manipulated - my own life giving way at the seams and lines got blurred.
Powerful forces, i have now come to understand.
Similar experience with the art therpay project too.
And now a word to get a sense of it - archetypes.
But hey! I survived. I am writing this am i not. So what am i scared of? The pain and agony and confusion. Losing balance. Giving into the dark egoistic mind.
Somewhere the mind gents hijacked - i stop being the story teller / reseacher and becomes a character - self obsessed and seeking power. One of the default slip intos.
So what am i saying?
So basically, i am/you are saying, i/you want to open this door. But i know this dragon awaits behind it. I have lost it, been mauled by it multiple times. And i am shit scared of opening that door and being mauled.
Is there a way for me to tame the dragon?
Or should i just walk away from the door and forget all about the dragon. There is a very good chance that it might reappear else where. Atleast in this case, it is a known devil.

A muse, channeler of inspiration. One has been that. But that didnt suffice. I want to be “one of them”, clearly. Yet, i want nothing to do with them clearly.

Today after a decade of life, i understand that to be - What is the question i am/you are/ one is seeking to find an answer to? What are you grappling with? Articulate it into a question the best you can and explore it the medium of writing aplay. Use your imagination - to move characters- change them, puppeterr - but remember the essence - it is not for you to gain power. Play god, no and then let it go into your head. And be devoured by your own demon. No. Thats happened enough now. So we now know what not to do. And what this is not.

In the 6 pages and 2 hours, i feel a certain reassurance. I feel like i have asked, without really knowing how to ask. And have been answered to. Quietly.
Keep the frame wide. And work fiercely to be regular. But with gentleness. And deep honesty.

You have a very solid physical practise to ground yourself, to navigate the storms. The body practice and the garden. Trust that.
Between the two, the earthing of the physical discipline and access to the mindscapes, you will start finding meaning.
That itself is the purpose. To find meaning.
Remember to enter mindscape, imagination only after knocking on its door. And to close the door behind you as you leave.
