I don't have the "oh, i always wanted to be a writer, i started writing since i was a little" story but there was one time I did try to seriously write when I was 12 and I think it was supposed to be a fanfic but because I didn't know that fanfics existed, I tried to twist it into an original piece with a bunch of reincarnation, soulmate tropes etc etc with an alternate universe as a premise, and explained it proudly to my family 💀

it went... well, i think? not well in that way though; he said his lab is mainly for people who are more advanced and he doesn't generally taker graduates, but he really liked my CV and the work i've done so he wanted to talk to me. we spoke for a while and he said he'll have to get back to see if he can integrate me somewhere in his lab (which actually sounded like a rejection to me idk), but he also sent a few emails of his colleagues whose work he thinks aligns with mine, so I'm going to email them and see how that goes!
