Thank the twelve, Yulan is no longer super cursed looking. Eyelashes are still a bit nerfed, but I can live with him looking like this.

Firn looks a lot better too! Weird dark nose is gone (tho still a bit shiny), tattoo colors around his eyes work more like they used to (I have not touched them for any of these pics, old benchmark just decided to make them a lot more visible) and his white eyelashes are back. Still little shorter than they used to be, also for some reason black if you look at them from underneath, but again, I can live with this. He's a tiny bit less angry looking?

Einn looks good too: new version actually has more eyelashes than current one, and his scar looks really nice now (also yay, bugged beauty dot is fixed). No weird darker nose. Only thing weird change is that for some reason they moved his hair strand like, few millimeters to the right? It used to go over just the inner corner of his eye, and now sits smack in the middle of it.

Hyth too, just so I can have all of my buns in same post. New pic is in more shade so his skin looks a bit darker, but from what I can see he's pretty good. Same weird hair problem as Einn. Might have to think about changing his hair to lighter shade if the new lighting system works better in the overworld than it does now.

I know I don’t owe any of you anything but I still felt compelled to write about my long term absence. And I feel far enough away from the dangerous spot I was in to be able to make this comic. I have a therapist now, and she agreed that making this could be a very cathartic gesture, and the start of properly leaving these thoughts behind me. I am still, at seemingly random times, blindsided by fleeting desires to kill myself. They’re always passing urges, but it’s disarming, and uncomfortable. I worry sometimes that my brain’s spent so long thinking only about suicide that it’s forgotten how to think about anything else. Like, now that I've opened that door for myself, I'll never be able to fully shut it again. But I’m trying my best to encourage my mind in other directions. We'll see how that goes.

I am still donating all proceeds from my store to Palestinian causes. So far, I've donated over $15K, not including donations coming from my own pocket or the fundraising streams which jointly raised around $10K. In the time since I made my initial post about where this money would be going, the focus has shifted from aid organisations to directly donating to escape funds.

What are dead man walking tornadoes? :O

it’s a multi-vortex tornado. i dont remember the tribe it originates from (i think it was cherokee), but there’s a native american legend…? saying? that goes “if you see a man in a tornado, you are about to die.”

it did so much damage to the town it caused the scale that tornados are measured by, the fijita scale, undergo revisions, and it made anchoring buildings in the tornado alley region pretty much mandatory. (it took the entire town off the map. only those who had taken shelter outside of the town or in underground bunkers survived.)

two more examples of dead man walking tornadoes looking like a person are a tornado from 2011 that hit cullman, alabama

and a tornado from 1975 that hit xenia, ohio

edit: it has been brought to my attention that the native american “legend” part of this post was a rumor spread by a documentary.

Oh look, it seems everyone has been opted into the unfortunate "experiment" now. For everyone who has been blissfully using the old UI up until now, welcome to hell :)

You will need to have Tampermonkey installed on your browser of choice, and once that's done, just go to the github link above, and peruse the readme to install. And voila! You have your old dash back!

The authors of XKit Rewritten said during the experiments that at the time, since this was an "experiment" they weren't going to implement anything to revert to the old UI (although who knows if they'll do it now). And the dashboard unfucker has worked beautifully enough for me to where I genuinely couldn't tell if they had ended the experiment or not.
