#aiden's monologuing#this is Not about anything on my dash it was in my fyp. anti-anxiety beam#i've wrestled a lot over the past few years about how i do activism and how helpful it is vs how much of it is#just to signal 'good person vibes' or whatever#i think a significant part of activism has to be destroying your own hero complex#maybe that's just me. ah well#it is also the ocd. smashes with hammer. and the white guilt. none of that helps others#it just leads me to wallow in self-flagellation.#there is like. a line between self-reflection + improvement vs miring myself in misery#and ultimately making me completely unhelpful and frozen in my own shit#anyway daily reminder that social media is only a tiny slice of someone's life#not constantly posting doesn't mean they're not doing something#and in fact might be doing more helpful things outside of social media#also also. do not post pictures of yourself at a protest. i am giving you a nondescript mask and t-shirt. stay safe 👍#(i do get people's frustration over a lot of people doing nothing. i just don't think statements like this are going to change anything)
