okay so im writing an amnesia type fic where Char A is seriously hurt and is belived to have died but actually survived (but it was kept a secert) but has lost the last ~5 years of his memomory and doesnt remeber his bestfriend at all. Char B (the bestfriend) sees A in public ~1 year after they supposedly died and eventually confronts them abt it -- theres more to the story but its irrelevant to the question:
