I love all the work you put into the aesthetics of your posts! I've been binge reading your ships, they're so entertaining and make me smile! I was wondering, as someone who loves making moodboards myself, what's your process? How do you choose what aesthetic you want for each post and how do you make them so nice?
Ah hey!!!
Honestly thank you so much, this is so sweet I swear to God! It really is so special to know that some of it lands and that people find enjoyment from what I do š
~~ Now I hope this makes sense, I'll keep it way more general than usual because I chronically overthink moodboards and aesthetic but in terms of inspiration and choosing an aesthetic. For ships, it is fully dependent on the requests. What I mean is that despite most people leaving the colour and theme up to me, I just base it on them. Maybe certain personality traits they have remind me of someone I know, or of an emotion or a colour. Like a random example, if someone tells me they are more of an intellectually bright, studious person who gets along with people fine but they are a homebody. A couple of ways you can do it is go with warm cozy colours that can be associated with certain aesthetics like light academia or boyfriend. Or in the case they really emphasised their intellect there is definitely an angle where you can go with rich royal colours, think dark blue or dark green, that whole academic ravenclaw or slytherin vibe.
That's just an example but a general philosophical, psychological tip is that humans love things to be about themselves. And while I would definitely try to pay attention to the person who wants a ship or a moodboard you can low-key cheat (I don't do this really but this is a handy tip if you're worried about the person not vibing with the aesthetic). You realistically just need to pick the most general traits the person has and run with it. They're a bright person with a happy cheery nature try the literally sunshine aesthetic or cute summer childhood fun. When you branch out even if it's a guess most people like it a lot.
For non ship posts like headcanons or fics you can be a lot more creative. Like the most sexiest thing you can do is use aesthetic to highlight the themes of your fic or headcanon. Think movie tropes but going that extra mile. In ways this is harder but since writing is another thing going to an audience like a y/n situation imagine what your reader would associate with an idol, not what you think. You are making a convincing love interest and the aesthetic can be abstract but also add things that are universal. I'll give a visual for this one.
Quick scenario: I happened to drink an iced americano and I realised Jungwon from Enhypen is hot. No one knows why I find him hot or to what degree but if I wanted to write something based on my americano daydreams I want people to see the version of Jungwon I crave which could look like this.
Low-key coffee, literally espresso, wanting him now, needy, energetic, treating the bed as a place for fun activities... yeah and some very modern slice of life esque bathroom graffiti. The connection? Most people know what these images mean or what they hint at.
This is already long but the last thing that is a part of my process besides thinking about different ways to visually captivate someone. Idk I'm still experimenting but something that i like is having different shapes and textures in your images, because people are into that but they also follow gifs. So I randomly pop idol gifs into it so people can be captivated looking at a pretty idol. Ooh and this isn't any answers or secrets this is general but what I've noticed with other moodboard people is bringing in symbols, or having a somewhat messy aesthetic especially with the size and shape of the image. You will feel it when some images need space before headers and dividers. The shape and borders will always add that bit more depth.
Yeah so again thank you so much for your kind words! I hope this gave a bit of insight so yeah short version part of my process is focusing on people outside of you, thinking about how they see certain images, making the themes specific even if people don't understand it all that well they will still like it and shapes shapes shapes and spacing. Experiment more with the format rather than the images šš
Whoever you are anonnie love ya heaps and thanks for picking my brain about aesthetics and moodboards š

Should You Watch Skip & Loafer?
(English title: Skip & Loafer)
(Japanese title: Skip to Loafer - or Sukippu to Roofaa)
A Brief Summary
Mitsumi comes from a super small town, but she has big ambitions.Ā Her plan is to attend school in the big city (Tokyo) in order to become a government official and make things better for her very small hometown.Ā Sheās so dedicated to this goal, that she doesnāt realize other people may not have the same kind of mindset and would rather loaf around.Ā Enter Sousuke, a fellow classmate she meets after getting lost on the way to her first day of school in the maze that is Tokyo.Ā Sousuke likes to take things at his own pace (slow) and not get himself deeply involved into anything or with anyone.
The pair are almost complete opposites, but they become friends anyhow and learn a bit more about the world and themselves throughout their freshman year in high school.
So, should you watch the anime? Ā
Definitely yes, unless you absolutely canāt stand slice of life anime.
I looked forward to watching Skip & Loafer every week as it gave me a warm, squishy dose of wholesome goodness.Ā Itās just so gosh-dang nice.Ā My heart could barely handle the genuine feelings in some episodes.
Skip & Loafer is also a funny show, but funny in a friendly way.Ā Itās not slapstick violence, but instead shows off how goofy things can be when high school kids interact with each other.Ā But to be fair, the show has its serious moments too.Ā High school isnāt all laughs, after all.Ā Each of the characters have darker bits to them, as do all people.Ā The way the show explores how the characters grow isā¦ well, I used the word before, but honestly, āwholesomeā is the best description for Skip & Loafer.Ā Because even when some darker moments happen, things end up okay in the end.
While I mentioned this is slice-of-life-esque, there is a hint of romance throughout as well.Ā But romance isnāt the main focus, itās just part of the high school experience - which is what the focus of Skip & Loafer really is.Ā Kids figuring themselves out a little at a time with some bonus shenanigans thrown in.Ā You know, your classic school festivals and sports day fun.Ā Throw in the whole ācountry hick in the big city discovering new thingsā vibe, and youāve got yourself this anime.
And I mean that in the best way.Ā Though my high school days are long past, so maybe my opinion is slightly tinted by nostalgiaās rosy color.
The art design and animation add to the wholesome feeling the show gives off.Ā The character design is pretty simple, but they do a lot with faces and expressions.Ā I love some of the derpy faces Mitsumi makes, and the little blush marks characters get when embarrassed or nervous are very cute.Ā While I donāt know much about fashion, the clothes Mitsumi and her friends wear seem fairly realistic to what you could find normal Japanese teenagers wearing today.Ā I do enjoy extreme and weird outfits, but in a slice-of-life style anime, regular fashion is a nice touch.
The plot is mostly about the day to day life and ambitions of high school students.Ā We learn a bit about the group and how their childhood experiences (such as being a child star, being made fun of, etc) have shaped them, but also how they can still keep changing.Ā Like I said, freaking wholesome.
Besides Mitsumi and Sousukeās developing friendship, youāll get to peek into the lives of some of Mitsumiās other friends and family, such as:
A tsundere classmate who wants Sousukeās attention and has the same bangs as Misato from Evangelion (Mika).
A blonde bombshell super-model type that wants friends who donāt care about her looks or fame (Yuzuki).
A classic nerdy introverted girl with twin braids and glasses who thinks good looking people are jerks (Makoto).
The ultimate bestie from back home that is the most supportive person on earth (Fumi).
The epitome of OCD and the type who would probably plan out every bathroom break on a trip (Takamine).
A passionately dedicated drama club student who will do anything for the sake of their art (Kanechika).
And a cool aunt with a bit of an adamās apple that helps out with good fashion tips and a place for Mitsumi to stay in Tokyo (Nao).
**Disclaimer here that I am not trans, but in my opinion, I think Naoās inclusion in the story was very tastefully done.Ā Pronouns were used correctly, and no big deal was ever made of Mitsumiās aunt formerly being an uncle.Ā She mentions it to her friends once when they are going to stay they night in case it bothers anyone.Ā But it doesnāt.Ā And I really like that.**
Plus even more friends and family!Ā There are quite a few minor characters that still make a big impact, and some Iād like to know more about.Ā As Skip & Loafer was a manga before it was an anime, I assume we do get more, so yay!Ā But even if you just watch the anime only, the story ends at a good stopping point.Ā
Where does it rate on my personal scale?
S: I will buy it at full price (unless itās released by Aniplex USA, because fuck their pricing).
->A: I will buy it on sale sometime down the line.
B: I had fun watching it, but donāt need to own it.
C: Itās not my cup of tea, but wasnāt awful.
D: Dropped it.
X: Finished it out of spite, but did not enjoy it.
Skip & Loafer ranks at a solid A.Ā It was one of my favorite shows of the season and I would like to have the chance to watch it again even if streaming services die.Ā Iām also tempted to check out the manga to get more of my wholesome fix.

ok, I may chicken out on posting an ad, because idk anxiety; the fear of Stranger Danger from random people in the tags is getting to me... but listen......... .. . if anybody else has a muse that would fit someĀ joker / harley - esque dynamics minus the abuse, but the chaos. likely a criminal element. ( slice of life or supernatural? either works, tho I think I have a preference for non-supernatural; either way, modern & realistic, dark n gritty vibes... ) the requited ride or die loyalty, mutual obsession, passion . . . where neither party are innocent, and both would do anything to protect each other from the consequences of their own actions, perhaps asjajjaĀ ?Ā š¤Ā . . . shall w e discuss >>> ??? i have thoughts / ideas AJSJAJ
friends, iām not going to lie, i am fiending to write shippy things for this goblinoid muse of mine JASJAJĀ iām thinking of tentativelyĀ posting an open rp ad with a wanted connection idea in the rp search tags ā¦ but if anyone wants to hear it before i put it out there, do lmk, and i can share it with you !!

this is gonna be the third time i blog abt this manga ever but haru no noroi (the 1st 2 times i talked abt this manga were not on this blog though, they were on my main blog which i doubt any of you know and i will not be sharing it sorry. although i am most active on this blog these days lol so maybe i should just say āfuck itā and reblog those posts here so i can collect all my reviews in one place). i reread it again yesterday bc i was suddenly reminded of it and this time around i focused more on the dynamics of natsumi/tougo and haru ... for example, the messed up fact that tougo just did not love haru the same way she loved him ... i mean i think it was supposed to be a mirror of what happened with natsumi and haruās biological parents and the implication that maybe haru would do the same thing that their mom did (i.e., eventually leave the dad and also her children behind bc there wasnāt truly any love bw the dad and mom), esp since tougo did not seem to ever be developing an interest in her. but thatās still really sad esp with the later development of haru realizing that tougo liked natsumi and thus she couldnāt grab hold of him for herself, and then the later stuff with natsumi and her stepmom where natsumi was like āmaybe ... we could become a family fr despite starting our relationship kind of distant? but no ... i canāt stay in this house anymore. my dad doesnāt approve of meā (also just thinking abt the dad all of a sudden. while this author does write strong female characters, the men are usually fuckers with toxic masculinity traits ... like when natsumi was like āiāll tell my dad iām moving out and also dating tougo. you [stepmom] and my lil bro should go hide somewhere else in the meantimeā... thatās messed up)
i think the natsumi liking tougo development was not particularly strong/obvious ... like i know them hanging out together is due to tougoās suggestion and sheās also trying to mourn haru but honestly not too sure why she felt so strongly abt him later. i guess itās bc they hung out together a ton over a series of months and also the āoh they have a crush on me. i never thought of them like that but now that that concept of us potentially being together is in my mind ...ā and also natsumi was like āoh tougo is the only one who knows everything abt me, stuff that not even my family and friends knowā and you know what i just answered my own question. anyway the confession scene in the hospital: i didnāt have chills or anything reading it this time bc itās like the 3rd time iāve read it now but i still felt something when tougo was like ābeing with you exposes my desire. natsumi, i like you, i want youā ...... (yes i looked it up and directly quoted that from the manga. it hit me so hard the first time i ever read the scene)
again, i like this manga bc i like the similar conflicts tougo and natsumi had about leaving their toxic families/environments and forging into the future on their own terms. and also how natsumi, previously always being the unwanted one, is finally wanted and desired... (this isnāt meant to be read as a āoh haha romance is super important!ā but just the concept of being valued when you havenāt been before) this reread, i was a lil like āoh uh... right. hmā abt the ālove triangleā happening where haru basically was sadly never really an option (i guess. i mean natsumi had so much emotional turmoil over her during her first relationship runthough with tougo that you could argue that she was indeed a major part of the triangle). i read through my 2 previous reviews before writing this and itās interesting to see the different things i focused on during those 2 reads ... the 1st time around was me just consuming the story at face-value, the 2nd time around was me focusing on natsumi and tougo as individuals that eventually come to support each other. this 3rd time i feel like i was focusing on the story again (mainly bc itās been a long time since my last read) and the romantic relationship ... i mean when someone dies, i feel like eventually the person left behind CAN and sometimes maybe should move on to date other ppl so thatās not where i have the issue but idk. it just feels sad here bc tougo didnāt really care that much abt haru... not that he was like āOK IāM IMMEDIATELY MOVING ON TO NATSUMI FUCK HARUā but it just feels bad to read ... tougo is also kind of an asshole in general but thatās another thing. and then natsumi in the end being like āyeah part of the reason iām moving out is bc ppl are definitely going to talk bad abt me bc i went and am dating my dead sisterās lover and i donāt want my fam to have shit talked abt them tooā which is sad (wow i am just saying āsadā so many times). i mean i appreciate that the ending isnāt all sunshine and rainbows and theyāre also like āyeah living with you is prob not gonna be a walk in the park/will be irritating, but this is the choice i want to makeā but also a part of me is like ādamn .....ā
there wasnāt really any point to this review/write-up. i just wanted to talk abt it bc the actual reason why i got reminded of it was bc my sibling was telling me abt a book they read where the mc, a woman, found out that her husband was actually having an affair with her brother (both husband and brother are dead so she was never able to confront them abt it or anything) and i thought of haru no noroi. which was why i was thinking a lot abt the relationship dynamics this time around, but i also want to say the aspects of this story that i like and thus why i like this manga despite the kind of weird social things going on with natsumi and tougoās relationship. i mean itās not really problematic since thereās no actual cheating going on but it still can rub ppl the wrong way a little... it did occur to me the weirdness of natsumi/tougo before but this time i focused more on it so... interesting readthrough this time around.Ā
EDIT: ok i just looked at the dates of my last 2 reviews and i literally read the manga for the first time and then reread it literally a month apart. and this next 3rd read is literally over 2 years later. jesus no wonder i had a different experience this time around bc i legit did have to focus more on remembering what the story actually was
#reading#it has this vibe to it that i like ... a realistic slice of life esque downer story with a happy ending#and it's not too long just 2 vol of 4-5 ch each#anyway i haven't read raise wa tanin ga ii in a while. wonder how shit is going down there

Innocent but erotic, cheesy as all hell and yet still oozing sex appeal; itās truly an irrefutable fact that pin up girls have one twisted tightrope to walk!
But how did we get this icon of salaciously safe female sexuality? A figure thatās somehow suitable for the side of weapons, twee ironic tattoos and more boudoir shoots than you can shake a stick at.
Well my friends, letās start at the very beginning (a very good place to start) with the mother of all pin ups:
The Gibson Girl
Created in 1887 by Charles Gibson, The Gibson Girl is now widely accepted as the first pin up.
Every time I throw my hair up I aim for this level of beautyā¦and every time I get crows nest
Drawn lasciviously The Gibson Girl represented a woman that could be imitated but couldnāt actually exist.
She had sizeable breasts but an itty bitty wasp waist. A swan like neck that was dangerously close to biologically impossible and masses of dark hair piled precariously atop her head, that was miraculously inoperable to swear, rain and general disaster.
There is no danger of these ladies getting sand in their hair, nor anywhere else
But what bought the Gibson Girl to life was that she had a clear personality.
She was a new woman, self assured, put together, sensual and intelligent all at once. She wanted independence, but likeā¦ not too much independence (Gibson Girls werenāt after the vote, that would just be crazy!)
A Gibson Man was created to go with The Gibson Girl, but much like Ken to Barbie, nobody really cared.
It was the impossible woman they wanted to pin to their walls, not her random boyfriend.
To be fair, the Gibson Man does look like an insufferable twat
Soon there was a Gibson Girl boom, with her face appearing all over magazine and newspapers; quickly becoming the ideal standard for American beauty.
Women donned Gibson Girl-Esque hair doās, along with s-bend corsets which simultaneously pushed out the tits, nipped in the waist and pulled the wearers back forward, allowing for that classic Gibson Girl arse to tit ratio.
Famed real life Gibson Girl, Camile Clifford and her RIDICULOUS waist
But the outbreak of World War 1 saw the demise of the Gibson Girl.
No more would women obligingly get that Gibson Girl figure by donning an s-bend corset.
You see, women had things to do, countries to keep running and they kind of needed working spines for that shit.
So they stepped up, wearing more practical and masculine clothing than before.
A trend that was immediately sexualised for war propagandaĀ
Stay classy America; as we move onto the next chapter in our pin up historyā¦
The Petty Girl
By the 1930s a more a-typical version of the classic āpin upā was starting to appear, but it was the āPetty Girlā that would take her to stratospheric levels of fame.
George Petty had been airbrushing and illustrating for years, mainly for cheese-tactic sexed up adverts and calendars. But in 1933 he joined fledgling magazine, Esquire and became an immediate hit.
Placed slap bang on a double page in the middle of the magazine, Pettyās drawings coined the term centrefold, as they were torn out and given prime real estate on walls and lockers around America.
A classic George Petty
A āPetty Girlā was the classic all American girl next door, just reeeeally sexed up! She was lithe, but curvy, with elongated limbs that made her legs go on for daaaays.
But what really made the Petty Girl a phenomena was that Esquire readers could place her into their worlds.
She was posed in idealised every day scenarios from chatting on the phone to celebrating Ā seasonal holidays and even ingratiating herself into what were then typically male jobs.
Do you get it? Rigidā¦.like the name of good industrial equipment
Soon Petty Girls werenāt just on walls, theyād been adopted by soldiers looking for a slice of comforting similarity as they headed to war.
It was easy to transpose a childhood sweetheart or crush onto a perfect Petty Girl; after all that was the whole point of their design!
And just like that pin ups went from book to bomber.
The crew of The Memphis Belle, pose with their B-17 Bomber, complete with George Petty illustration
By the 1940s and 50s pin up was everywhere.
Petty style drawings were used to both sell magazines to men and everything from fashion, homeware and films to women; MGM even made a film about the drawings (the imaginativley titled, Petty Girl)
With such success came a ton of rival artists, all with a slightly different take on what made the perfect imaginary woman:
Gil Evgreen
Gil stepped up George Pettys knack for the everyday. Placing models in even more average scenarios (cooking, decorating, hanging out with cute animals)
Yet he made these hum drum scenes both implausible and accessible, by setting up his pin up girls asĀ cutesy girl children/sex kittens (basically the photo type for any modern rom com lead!)
Sure she was coyly flashing her underwearā¦but only because the poor lamb had accidentally tripped!
I simply cannot tell you how many dresses I have ruined thanks to errant cranes
As well as this ācheesecakeā pin up style, Gil was known for his masterful (and slightly maniacal) manipulation of the female form.
Heād have models pose for pin up photos, then set his pencil to work, nipping, tucking and enlarging certain key assets until he had the perfect fantasy
Can we please talk about how uncomfortable the models pose looks????
But it wasnt just men! Women were a key audience for the pin up fantasy and they were vital in its evolution.
Zoe Mozart
Zoe made her mark by creating pin up illustrations that veered much closer to reality than her male peers work.
Sure these painted ladies were still very much in the realm of make believe, but Zoe worked to have them look like actual women; tiny waists are great and all, but not when they are so teeny that women need to find somewhere new to keep stuff like their organsā¦
It seemed like Zoe was onto something; her realistic approach was selling like hot cakes, from adverts to film posters and menās calendars.
But there was a problem- now the public wanted real women.
Photography was the order of the day. By the late 50s, the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell were decorating walls and pin up started to die out.
Pretty soon it was the 60s and imagined illustrations just couldnāt compete with the likes of Playboy, whose mix of explicit images and -ahem- articles, had taken America into a new age of sexual fantasy.
Playboy Bunnies promote a new Playboy Club
And yet the pin up could not be destroyed.
The classic Petty, Mozart and Evgreen style of pin up is very much back in. Just now itās labelled as a vintage and classy alternative to the todayās more intense male gaze.
You can see itās traces in everything from Virgin airlines branding to cutesy advertising and of course, every time a bridesmaid has worn victory rolls and a halter neck to a āvintage weddingā.
The pin up vibes are strong with this one
This was interesting where can I find out more? For Gibson Girl goodness Iād suggest checking out, The Weaker Sex: The Story of a susceptible bachelor, which is a reprint of some of Charles Gibsons best work.
Ā Ā Ā The History of PinĀ Ups Innocent but erotic, cheesy as all hell and yet still oozing sex appeal; itās truly an irrefutable fact that pin up girls have one twisted tightrope to walk!

-Dusts off blog- HELLLLLO 2017! Nothing like a New Year and a fresh, new anime season that makes me wanna become active in the anime world once again. This time, itās special. From Jan. 12-April 11th I will be living in Japan for the very first time! In Akihabara! Anime central! Beyond excited :) Maybe Iāll see promotional stuff for current anime while Iām there? We shall see.Ā
Anywho, the new shows start airing tomorrow so I figured Iād take a crack at the PVās and see let you know what Iāll be anticipating the most.
Masamune-kunās Revenge
Japan hates fat people: THE ANIME! No seriously, has there ever been a fat character in anime that wasnāt a big, fat (no pun intended) joke? Screw you Japan. Also, when being a fat child is your biggest trauma? First. World. Problems. Anyway, this sounds like a pretty generic but watchable anime, the art is bland and shiny and it looks like there will be plenty of pretty girls vying forĀ āIām skinny now so Iām hotāās attention. Will watch and grumble about.
Urara Meirochou
Is the Order a Rabbit? With Psychics! Thatās the vibe I get anyway. The animationās really cute and colorful and the main girl looks like IA from vocaloids lol. Not sure why everyone has cat ears in the PV. Excited to see whatĀ āKoume who is a fan of Western cultureā is like.Ā
Seiren
Amagami SS Plus Plus -The Sequel of the Sequel! Oh man, I actually really like shows like this. Harem-like shows where the characters are more realistic (you can tell by the tame hair colors lol). I donāt understand why it says āthree heroinesā but the trailer shows 6 girls? I wanna know sleepy-eyed girlās story! I hope this is an omnibus-style show like Amagami, itās more pure when itās one girl at a time.
Fuuka
Complaining About Millenials: The Anime! No seriously, thatās what I got from the description:Ā āThe battle between a romance started through technology and one NOT started through technology.ā Riveting stuff. Not looking forward to this one, I hated its predecessor, Suzuka. Suzuka was an anime about how amazing Suzuka, the main girl, was when really she was bland and (imo) not even attractive? Also, the ecchi mixed with the shiny artstyle feels wrong to me. Like if 5 cm per second had panty shots. Just wrong.Ā
Youjo Senki
??????? Did they use a random plot generator for this anime? My initial thought is that I hate the promo artwork. She looks like a weird bobblehead. As for the PV...uhhhhh? Flying Imperial Army Sorcererās...riiiiight. Looks like a storu they could have done without a loli but then they threw in a loli to appeal to otaku. Also, sheās inexplicably Russian, kay.Ā
Minami Kamakura Koukou Joshi Jitensha-Bu
Moe Spin-off of Yowamushi Pedal. I know itās a completely different sport but this just feels like a rehash of Baku-On!! to me. Generic cute girls doing cute things anime probably but looks like something I could enjoy. I like the design choices so far...
Schoolgirl Strikers
When has adapting a mobile game into an anime ever worked? Never? Exactly. Iām already bored, they werenāt even trying with this plot.Ā
Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-Hen
(See my review of Season 1 here:Ā )
OH SNAP. TIME TO JUMP ON THE HYPE TRAIN. I mean, wow, it was 4 years ago that I watched that first season, what a long time to wait. Now Iām not a HUGE Ao no Exorcist fan, I think itās pretty generic-shounen but Iām just really happy/excited for the fans. Plus, this season is supposed to go back to the manga so itās gotta be better than the filler-riddled season 1. Iāll give it a go!
SpiritPact
āUnfortunately he was hit by a car and became a ghostā A+ synposis writing, 10 outta 10, Good Job! Lots of psychic-y, exorcist-y shows this season huh? This one is a ghost teaming up with an exorcist...first thought is...thereās no girl. Iām guessing fujoshi shipping will be involved with this one. Just a hunch.
Demi-chan wa KataritaiĀ
Wholesome-er Monmusu!? HELL YEAH! I lover monster girls/boys but theyāre always over-sexualized to the point that I get turned off. This looks like it will be a more moe, slice-of-life monster girl series I hope. -crosses fingers- Itās cute that theyāre calledĀ āDemisā and nice that theyāre keeping it simple with only three main monster girls (vampire, dullahan, and succubus). Erm, well with a succubus thereās bound to be ecchi...Please donāt be over-the-top ;-;Ā
Chain Chronicle
Not another mobile game adaptation. Fantasy plots like these are not fun to watch, they are made for games and games only. Main character looks hilariously generic. The only thing that got me a little excited in the PV is that this series has faeries. The logo looks like a Final Fantasy one...
eIDLIVE
Space Patrol Luluco as a generic shounen show. JUSTICE! The synopsis for this anime has way too much going on in it. He can hear voices AND heāsĀ āthe chosen oneā at a space police station? AND his classmateās also in the space police. How about just picking one of those plot points and rolling with it? Like, whatās next: AND heās psychic, AND he knew his classmate all along he just has amnesia! This sounds silly. Nice music in the PV tho.Ā
Idol Jihen
AKB0048 Take 2 - 2017 Edition. No seriously, this is the exact same plot of AKB0048...which might be good cuz I loved that show lol. The only thing new is idols having political parties which sounds kinda...stupidly awesome. We shall see. Iāve been hurt by idol anime before.Ā
Little Witch AcademiaĀ
sHOW OF THE YEAR CONFIRMED 2017. Studio Trigger: YES. Harry Potter-esque: YES. Amazing design choices: YES. Will I be watching?: YESSSSSS.Ā
Gabriel DropOut
Hima-tenshi: Umaru-chan! I mean basically. A perfect student who becomes super lazy and obsessed with gaming? Iām a sucker for shows like this with otaku female protags, gotta say. Throw in angels and demons and Iām set to watch. Like I said, I love monster girls :3c
ACCA
Most Boring Synopsis of the year Award Goes to...Seriously, the plot description for this told me nothing. However, I watched the PV and it looks like it could be interesting. It has a mature, adult-tone and verrrry interesting character design. I might watch it just for that. Plus, cool uniforms! :D
Handshakers
Not Another Absolute Duo Rehash. I swear, these new shows are competing to see who can be the shiniest. Also, protag looks like heās from Dangan Ronpa lol. Iāll give this show a chance, with a generic fight school plot it all rides on how likable the characters are. I tend to like fighting shows where people have to work together and utilize team work. It usually forces characters to have good chemistry/development.Ā
Kemono Friends
IS THAT A FENNEC FOX GIRL!? The plot sounds really contrived but I donāt care cuz cute animal girls! :D Will they act like animals? Will there be creepy bestiality-esque relationships? Does that one girl have no neck? I will stay tuned...Ā
Akibaās Trip
Itās funny cuz Iām gonna be living in Akihabara for 3 months...This anime is based on a game where you attack people til there clothes fall off. Watching the PV it looks kinda awesome actually, it reminds me of Ben-To. This kind of anime thatās self-aware about how ridiculous its premise is can be nice. The character design looks really interesting and, just like the game, it seems it will have equal-opportunity stripping lol. This will be really fun to watch while in Akiba.
Kobayashi-san Chi no MaidragonĀ
Why does this anime have so much hate/love on tumblr? Itās a controversial show already but it just seems like your typical monster-girl, slice-of-life, ecchi. Nothing to see here folks, move along. Personally, I think it looks really cute? Especially the main relationship (gay). Plus weāll get to see a legit dragon every now and then which is A-okay in my book. I wanna know the other girlsā stories too, they cute.
Marginal #4
Nah. Who do these idol-boy shows even appeal to? Fujoshi? When you try too hard to make all the guys in your series ~sexy~ it almost always backfires if you ask me. Plus, there is just such an over-saturation of shows identical to this one. What makes this one any different?
Kuzu no Honkai
WE. NEED. MORE. SEINEN. AND. JOSEI. ANIME. This one looks promising, mostly because I like the mangaās artstyle. The plot actually sounds pretty similar to Toradora so I can only assume the mainĀ āfakeā lovers will end up together. Seems like a chill, mature drama. I can dig it.Ā
BanG Dream!
Itās kinda embarrassing when studios just assume their show will be a hit. Like they already have live-cosplay-style performances planned out for this but itās kinda hard to get hype for a live concert based on characters you donāt care about. Points for multi-media creativity but shouldnāt you only have live concerts AFTER a show is popular? Like Lucky Star did. I dunno, just seems like a risky bet on a show that looks generic af. Plus I donāt like how they drew that one girlās boobs. Shirts donāt work that way...
Welp! Thatās all for now. Not the most exciting season if Iām being honest but I had fun checking every show out nevertheless. Cheers to a happy, fun winter for all :)Ā
