A Thousand and One Nights is genuinely one of the best love songs I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. The instrumental is brilliant, as is the truth for all of Starkid's instrumentals- I can't even find the right words to describe it. There's no word great enough to explain how I feel about it.
Don't get me started on the vocals. Meredith Stepien and Dylan Saunders doing a duet is one of the greatest events to ever happen in history. Their voices sound amazing alone but when you combine them, it's like hearing angels sing.
THE LYRICS. The lyrics are just...
"I want to know your story, I want to know your past- I want to know each twist and turn
Tell me all I've missed, I've so much to learn
For when it comes to stories, I thought I knew them all, but now I'm face to face with one I can't seem to recall.."
"I want to know your story, I want to know your past- I want to know your future too"
"I never cared for stories, until you entered mine
And now my only wish is that our plots may intertwine"
The way they describe each other, "He is at once familiar and unknowable" "She is at once a comfort and a mystery".
Especially how they describe them meeting each other. Sherrezade describes it as "-to the frightened girl he meets along the way", knowing it was only the beginning of his story. In comparison to how Ja'far describes it, "-to the callow man she meets that fateful day", he wasn't one for believing in fate except for when it came to her. You can tell he thought about that day, and her, a lot.
I'm not very good with words, but I can say this: I fucking love A Thousand and One Nights.

But I also listened to this one and wanted to see what you thought (you've probably already listened to it):
- M
M! Hi! How r u?
Hahaha yeeeeessss! Gooey Rework is soooo good. It gives me "eargasm" everytime I listened to it no matter how many times. 😆 i think it's the best remix.
N also yes, I have listened to the remix u sent me. The Kingdom remix sounds unique and totally different than others. Sometimes it made me feel like in a nice lounge or fashion show event or something.lol.
Do you know Rüfüs Du Sol? They also have good songs. I love the one thats called Desert Night. Let me know what you think.
Cheerio!

EARGASM #7
GENRE: SYNTH-POP | TROPICAL HOUSE
This my personal favorite among Daya’s songs. Her vocals are no joke daaaamn. That tropical house music gives me that optimistic vibe and jive, plus her voice also makes the song surreal in my ears.
Everytime I listen to this song, I can almost imagine a music video consisting of couple of people dancing to this song lol.
But the lyrical content of the song tho. It’s about not getting ready yet to say those 3 words about love (I love you). I just love the contradiction of music and lyrics.
/ Don't want a good heart to break When we're touching, those three little words feel too easy to say But, but I'm not ready We don't have to say love 'cause the words only get in the way /
See? The contradiction, really. There’s another part of the song that conveys of them not necessarily to have a label for what they have, as long as they enjoy each other’s company.:
/ Like you lots, I just had a thought We could make it fun, doesn't have to have a name Everyone puts the pressure on But we're not everyone, so we don't have to do the same /

Review of ‘A.I.’ by Mr.Kitty
From sharing a stage with bands such as Crystal Castles, the ability to remix any song and make it sound ethereal, and showcasing his extended talent at renowned clubs/venues worldwide- Mr.Kitty really has it all. A not-so-hidden gem across the synthpop/electro goth scene; Forrest gained a growing, yet cult fan-base with the debut of his album ‘D E Δ T H’ in 2011- following a number of previous releases under the alias. Just one year later followed ‘ETERNITY’, and swiftly came ‘LIFE’ in 2013. Each album shares a specific style and unique substance within the genre, which many people (myself included) have grown to love, each collection containing a plethora of emotions and stories, giving an eyesight into his life. Whereas ‘TIME’ (2014) portrayed some of Forrest’s darkest, and most witch-house inspired tracks, 2015′s ‘FRAGMENTS’ leant towards a gentler, unearthly style - pioneering and futuristic, yet still reminiscent of the roots of the project.
After releasing an album every year for 5 years- each to an immaculate standard that never slipped, 2016 saw Mr.Kitty’s quietest year to date- with an odd single and teaser here-and-there all that was preparing us for what great things were to come with the release of ‘A.I.’. An alluring selection of mind-blowingly, glorious tracks- this is (in my honest opinion) Forrest’s greatest offering so far. It’s hard to believe that his previous works could ever be beaten, but again and again he delivers a great and overwhelmingly satisfying experience with his music, and i cannot wait to tell you all about it. SO without further ado; here is my track by track review. Peace.
--TRACK BY TRACK REVIEW--
I... - Starting out with a static noise, the intro track to the album gradually gains momentum before blaring out in all its synth glory with a relaxed and slow paced, but catchy and heavenly melody. ‘I..’ has bragging rights as the only instrumental track on the album, and to some may seem quiet dreary, but i find it to be a perfect scene setter, before the next track unfolds its chaotic charm. 8/10
UNDO - A surprisingly uplifting track about overcoming the heartbreak an old lover has caused and becoming stronger for yourself. The song remains fast paced throughout, thanks to the lead synth rhythm and accompanying melodies, whilst notable lyrics, such as “Naively, i’m still yearning” and “I will undo this heartbreak” are blared out in a delicate, but powerful voice. A great warmup for what’s ahead. 9/10
HABITS (FEAT. PASTEL GHOST) - Unlike Undo, Habits begins with a more subdued lead, which reminds me of panpipes being played atop a mountain, with the sounds made drifting down the valley. The lead synths eventually kick in, as Mr.Kitty utters “At night I travel, my nerves unravel, It hurts to hide myself from you” - not sparing a second to let the emotions and feelings mongered to sit and wallow, in comes Vivian’s ghostlike vocals, yearning “Don’t break me, Don’t let go”. One of my favourite parts is the classical Mr.Kitty instrumental bridges- which after all this time i still let out a little squeal whenever i hear one. This song helped garner all my feelings of late, and really made me connect with both Forrest and Vivian through the music; so i must note it as one of my favourites. 11/10
FORGET - I first heard a live recording of this song from A’lizzabeth (of Vore Aurora) a short while ago, and i must say i was absolutely GAGGING for the studio version. One of the most notable and enjoyable parts of this song for me is the great synth lead, and how the bass synth seamlessly accompanies it so perfectly. EARGASM. The lyrics may state “Why don’t you please forget me” but i can assure you; it will be in your head for days, weeks, months etc. 10/10
GIVE/TAKE - Keeping the bass synths in check, give/take begins with them fading in, and getting gradually louder before the drum accompaniment jumps in and the song opens out into one of the darkest and most kick-ass tracks on the release. I loved the demo version, and the bass synths just gave it that extra boost to become a killer tune. If unlike me, you can get your head around the spectacular instrumental for long enough to notice the equally contagious and genius lyrics- you will appreciate lines such as “How much could i give? How much could i take?” and “Return to mothers womb”. Graphic, but fantastic. 9.5/10
NO HEART - With one of the most playful and club-like leads, No Heart opens with a phenomenal synth melody, accompanied by a clever, and obviously meticulously placed drum structure. The verse boasts an unexplainable momentum, which is really audibly pleasing, with relatable lyrics such as “I’m not myself when you’re around” and “You can’t relate when you have no heart”. Another great addition to the album! 8/10
MALFORMED - Battling the subject of self-esteem issues, and the constant feeling of never being good enough, with a more relaxed synth pattern and ghostly backing vocal accompaniment- Malformed is easily a lowkey hit in my eyes. Heartbreaking words are spoken before us, in Forrest’s soothing, but pained voice- asking questions “Would you like me more If I was someone else?” and “Can you fix me now?” and i just can’t deal with the feels from this album by this point, so i was pretty much already in tears at this moment of my first listen, and all the others for that matter. 8.8/10
CRISIS POINT - The return of fast paced songs for a short while, Crisis Point has been absolutely gorgeous and undoubtedly overplayed since it was released as a promo single in the weeks upcoming the album release. I love that this track pays homage to the more ‘screamy’ and ‘blurred’ vocals from Mr.Kitty’s first couple of albums, and just you try to get “Everytime i lose my mind, i lose control” out of your head. You won’t. I’ve tried. 7.9/10
EARTHSTONES - Another promo single released the week prior to release, and boyyyyyy have i cried some pools over this track I’m not gonna lie, this is most likely one of the most sincere and saddening songs i have heard, in the most beautiful way. It brings back memories of my ex boyfriend, and how we ended on a bad place but he did a lot of  things to prevent me hurting even more, even if i felt like my world had been tore apart before me. The synths and drums are quite simple, with the most complicated structure being in the chorus when more audio layers are added. I adore the lyrics too much, and to name a favourite would mean -inserting lyrics here- but honestly, dear god, even if you only listen to a couple of songs - MAKE THIS ONE OF THEM! 10000/10 (No kidding)
LAMENTATION - Upbeat at parts, heavy in others. Shouty vocals in verses, with a more subtle glowing tone in the chorus- this song really showcases Mr.Kitty’s abilities as an artist, and just how versatile and skilled he is. The middle eight is so tense and exciting before blasting back into the chorus, with the lyric “My love for you begins to rot, You will lament all that you've lost” blazing outin full throttle, before abruptly ending. 9.2/10
DREAM DIVER (FEAT. MEGURINE LUKA) - Gurl. Stop. You ain’t ready... BUBBLEWRAP YOUR HEART. GET SOME TISSUES. CUZ YOU ABOUT TO BE HIT WITH THE REMINENTS OF ALL YOUR PAST LOVERS AND MEMORIES AND EVERYTHING THAT HOLDS A GREAT SIGNIFICANCE IN YOUR HEART/SOUL. BUT SERIOUSLY- Mr.Kitty is great as is, but add that nod to seapunk mixed with the synthpop we came for, plus a vocaloid singing about falling apart and how you should be trusted? Nahhhh. This shit is insane. We ain’t good enough for this track. Like this song is so overwhelmingly good, i’m flustered explaining it. In fact, i can’t really; except for encouraging you to BREAK THE REPLAY BUTTON?! 8758578570375732808531737/10
BIRDS OF PREY - Another promotional track that was released in demo form in the run-up to release. I would say again, how i didn’t think the track could be further improved...but it’s Forrest so nothing ceases to shock me anymore. A pulsating synth lead is held throughout, with the chorus adding an alternating, and accompanying melody- which i loveeeee. The vocals are halfway between a scream and a shout, in the best possible way; with the lead lyric “I pray, I pray that you’re my prey” being another great wordplay! 9/10
HEALING WATERS - An obviously witch house inspired track, again combining bass synths with pop- but this time a softer lead, which is actually mad good. One of the most easy listening tracks on the album, with the lyrics further pushing the theme of self-realisation and improving YOU for YOU, which becomes clear throughout. 8.8/10
GREATER THAN US - The synths during the intro are so reminiscent of synthwave and stranger things, i was genuinely shook the first time i played this song!  Then when the drums and main lead kicks in all of a sudden, i was like gurlllll, and then the chorus just came throughhhhhh with everything coming together in one big harmonious celebration! During the verses, Mr.Kitty has manipulated the vocals in a strange, but kinda cool way, whereas the chorus has clear and vibrant vocals, with uplifting lines, requesting you to “Show them what we’re made of”. The bridge instrumental contains the same structure of the intro musically, and i feel as though this track is super beautiful and a perfect penultimate track on an inspiring and empowering album. 10/10
I HOPE YOU FALL APART - The first single released from ‘A.I.’ way back in 2016, and whilst i have done my fair share of raving about the brilliance of this track already, i’m kinda struck by how great of an end track this song is! The whole album tells us how to purge - let go, and why we should do things for ourselves instead of letting others/our past control us; whereas this song is like the metaphorical funeral of all of those things. Instead of falling into the pit ourselves, we hope the captor falls apart, we will cut deep into their hearts instead of letting them dig the knife into ours, and we will NOT be controlled, we will let go. I love the pure imagination and imagery this album has used, and this just hits the final nail on the head! 9.8/10
OVERALL RATING - 10/10
MR.KITTY’S 6TH ALBUM ‘A.I.’ IS AVAILABLE NOW VIA A VARIETY OF DIGITAL RETAILERS- ITUNES, GOOGLEPLAY, BANDCAMP AND MANY MORE. YOU CAN ALSO STREAM THE ALBUM VIA SPOTIFY AND YOUTUBE.
THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY REVIEW, AND I HOPE TO CONTINUE DOING MORE AGAIN VERY SOON. LEAVE ANY SUGGESTED REVIEWS IN MY AMA BOX, AND I WILL GET BACK TO YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.<3
