no offense i think “its fiction anything is possible!!!” is a really lazy way of trying to justify this narrative choice lol. fiction is used to hold up a mirror to reality and SAY things about it, theyre not entirely separate things (especially in p5s case i have no idea how youd think this game isnt trying to say anything about japanese society) and in this case atlus is saying “change from inside the system is possible if you just believe in yourself.” which is a flimsy message considering not only that we see the exact opposite occur IN GAME on multiple occasions but also in the case of the police force especially its just not applicable to reality? im not saying it doesnt show off makotos determination or whatever im saying its a poor narrative choice in regards to the themes of p5 itself.

IT MAKES ME SO MAD HOW BAD THEY FUCKED UP MAKOTOS CHARACTER BECAUSE HER AWAKENING IS ONE OF THE HARDEST IN THE SERIES ITS SO FUCKING AWESOME

#ive seen this argument a million times and i dont think these people understand what im saying at all #it fits well for makoto as a character herself but it is WILDLY incongruent with the themes of the game as a whole #if this were an entirely different game that didnt focus on rebelling against those who abuse their power itd be whatever like.#id have my qualms with it regardless but it wouldnt be such a problem if it wasnt antithetical to the game as it is #persona
