Asajj's first Outfit in Nightsisters (The Clone Wars season 3 Episode 12) was such a good adaptation of the concept art and just so much better than her main outfit. It's my personal favorite and I wish we could see more of it.

Some TBB s3 trailer reactions/thoughts
If you follow me on twitter/IG you probably saw these already
First of all, FEBRUARY 21???? SO SOON. I'M NOT READY TO SAY GOODBYE WHEN IT ENDS AAAA
Secondly, CROSSHAIR. They kept Crosshair's old armor, even as they had to lose and repurpose and probably sell parts of their own kits while surviving.. they kept his armor intact NOBODY TOUCH ME.
As I thought, it seems Hunter and co will reunite with Omega and Cross in the premiere. This isn't surprising bc I couldn't imagine Omega being in captivity for long, she is the central kid character and has to be in the thick of all their adventures.
Re: Tech. I know in my heart that Tech is alive but tbh I'm one of the few people who doesn't want the brainwashed Imperial Tech plotline bc it feels redundant at this point, we already had Echo and Cross as victim of experiments/brainwashing.
Mostly I'm just tired of seeing clone characters getting stripped of their agency to a ridiculous degree when it's not necessary for their character development at all, at some point it starts to feel like angst for angst's sake bad fanfiction style. I just want to see him being his capable self, not another victim in distress.. Combined with how a portion of this fandom has a tendency to infantilize him, I'm feeling some level of trepidation if Imp!Tech is indeed where this is going. But I ofc will take any scenario where he is alive > any scenario where he is dead. The family must be complete :< So while I have my reservations, I'm totally open to seeing whatever they have cooked up and reserve all judgement until I get to experience the story as it's told. I'm just cautious about this particular possibility bc I keep seeing fandom folk clamouring for it. As for THAT character cameo... God I so wish this means that godawful book was yeeted from the canon once and for all. This is a Dark Disciple hater household, sorry to those who liked it for whatever reason. I have nothing against Vos as his own character, but Ventress didn't deserve an ending THAT shitty so please keep her away from that bullshit.. please.. I'm so happy to see her again ;_; and I'm so happy that the big cameo wasn't Ahsoka lmao I would've thrown something. Anyway aGHHH I'm overflowing with emotion rn I love that show sm!! *cracks knuckles* opens up a folder of wips from almost a year ago titled "Crosshugs"
UPD. So apparently DD is still canon. So let me get this right.. TBB s3 is supposedly aligned with DD being kept canon.. but DD takes place before order 66?? Does it mean that Asajj faked her death to get the jedi to leave her alone lmao literally being "the reports of my death were greatly exaggerated". I get it girl I would've faked my death too to get out of a toxic relationship.

hi Lumi, your posting about star wars books made me want to start reading them, which ones would you recommend?
Hi! There are a lot of Star Wars books out there and there's a lot I enjoy about them! Sure, I'll give a warning that I'm picking out the best moments and a lot of the books are not always great in their entirety, especially depending on how much you want to stay 100% true to Lucas' story.
A lot is going to depend on what you're looking for--are you a prequels fan? Are you more interested in original trilogy books? Jedi-centric books? Bounty hunters or pilots instead? Etc. Generally, I assume if you're asking me, you're here for the prequels books, but I have a more generalized list of recommendations here or you can browse my novels recs tag.
But I always generally recommend starting with: - Revenge of the Sith novelization by Matthew Stover isn't a perfect book, I could nitpick some details here and there, but the heart of this book remains unchallenged as the best SW book there is, imo. It elevates the story it's adapting (already a high bar for me, I love ROTS), Stover knows how to turn a phrase to dig deep into a character's motivations, and there's a reason why we're all constantly quoting that book. It adds so much to the story and it's a compelling tale on its own, it makes me love the characters and hurt for them all over again, and there's approximately a thousand lines in this story that you could write an entire essay on.
- Padawan by Kiersten White cannot dethrone the ROTS novelization, but I would say that I think it wound up being my favorite of the Disney era books, because it's such a straight shot to my id. It's definitely on the lighter side, it's a happier look at Obi-Wan's childhood (which I think fits his character better), he struggles and has a lot going on, but overall he's pretty well-adjusted and happy, plus there is an absolute ABUNDANCE OF CUTENESS in this book, it was so delightful and whimsical and adorable, it just made me happy.
- Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule if you're at all interested in The High Republic. This is still my favorite book of the entire series, I think it set the stage incredibly well, it had some absolutely banger lines for someone with prequels brainrot like me, and genuinely made me excited for the entire line-up.
- Dooku: Jedi Lost by Cavan Scott, which is an audiodrama but has a script version available if you're hoh or just don't like them. It's a solid look at Dooku's time as a youngling and why he left the Jedi Order and backstory with Sifo-Dyas that'll break your heart. I prefer the audio version here because the Asajj framing works so much better with the actress' voicework, it really digs into her feelings about all of this as well, making it a nice gut-punch of a story.
And now I would add Padawan's Pride by Brian Q. Miller (audiobook only, unfortunately) because it's a lovely, charming look at Anakin's time as an apprentice. It's very deliberately written as a lead-in to the Obi-Wan & Anakin comic (which I think you're supposed to be keeping in mind as you read, so I'd suggest reading in release order rather than chronological order), showing the conflict between Obi-Wan and Anakin, between Anakin the Jedi way of life, yet all the love that's growing there and the hope that they weren't wrong to hold onto. Just the right amount of crunch and sweet.
I recently read The Living Force by John Jackson Miller and, while I have a couple of issues with it (it was less spiritual than I'd like, some clunky "attachment" discourse moments that clash against Lucas' definitions, etc.), overall it was a book I loved. It was laugh out loud funny at several moments, it showed the Jedi as deeply caring, it gave time and page space to Jedi who don't usually get much focus, it had some knockout administrative worldbuilding details, and a genuinely fun experience of a story.
There are more that I personally loved (Force Collector was really good for me but not an easy one to recommend, The Legends of Luke Skywalker was very dear to me for being so in love with the galaxy far, far away, Obi-Wan & Anakin: Choose Your Destiny is a Choose Your Adventure style book that's not going to be for everyone but I adored and got so much out of, that's where Theater Nerd Mace Windu came from, the first and third From a Certain Point of View anthologies had 3-4 incredible stories in them each, the ESB one didn't impress me, etc.) and a lot of comics that I think are just as good to read if you haven't started on those, but I think this is a good starting place for prequels nerds.
(I stuck mostly to Disney continuity, it's what I'm more familiar with, and the only Legends books I fully recommend are Revenge of the Sith novelization and Dark Rendezvous, not even my beloved Wild Space comes without a bunch of caveats, but if you're interested in Legends, let me know!)

I'm happily educating myself on all things Barriss via your wonderful blog. If you'd ever feel like unpacking more of your Wrong Jedi thoughts/intrigue, I'd love to hear more of your analysis.
Oh my, you've put a quarter in the machine now you have to hear the whole song.
The arc is very divisive with Barriss enjoyers because her character veers so far from her Legends depiction. She was a pretty prominent character in the original Clone Wars multimedia project and was a caring and selfless healer. And the arc doesn't do much to explain her motivations for turning.
Another thing that vexes me is because it is essentially a police procedural (they even hired a writer from Third Watch for this arc) so much occurs off-screen. So, we do not know quite what happened but have to infer.
Let's start with motivation. In her very few post The Wrong Jedi appearances they've tried to hint at Barriss falling mainly though post-traumatic stress disorder. And that's sort of a good explanation? She was at Geonsis at the start of the war, and was one of two Padawans we know of IN the arena who lived and the other was Anakin! You have to think this is a healer, someone who was trained to be a pacifist, and the battle was so sudden and frantic that she had to witness other Padawans she knew in the creche die all around her and she was too busy defending herself to do anything. So that's trauma and guilt. The short story A Jedi's Duty shows that she sat out nearly the entire first year of the war healing others back at the temple, explaining why she wasn't there to deal with Asajj Ventress with Luminara in TCW season 1. Also, she is having trouble sleeping because of memories of that first battle. She asked for help but they told her to meditate if she couldn't sleep, but she couldn't meditate properly because of this haze of the dark side invading her perceptions. She's even having trouble Force healing and she feels guilty that others are taking risks that she is unwilling to take. She consults with an old friend, Tutso Mara and is finally able to meditate, but right then Luminara calls her to a briefing, and wouldn't you know it, they're going to Geonosis again. She is frightened but memorizes the tunnel formations under the weapons factory they need to destroy because that's her duty to the Light and to her Order. The last scene is her joining Luminara and Gree to depart for the battle. And it's such an ironic story because Master Mara is one of her later victims and the place she bombs is right there in the temple hangar where the story ends. I think that's why she chose it as her target, it was the place she went from safety to chaos.
And what happens next? She almost is buried alive Right Away, then as she's reeling from that she gets a Geonocian brain worm. She was also at the Battle of Umbara, and you know how that goes. So I guess trauma is a fairly good reason, as well as her love and admiration of Jedi ethics and pedagogy that just went right out the window when the Jedi had to do what it took to fight in this war. Barriss is a bookworm, all that heritage meant something to her. And really, that was the purpose of the war, to isolate the Jedi by having them betray their morals and sully their reputation with the public.
Fanfiction writers also can pick and choose from Legends, such as all the crazy stuff that happened to her on Drongar but that's a story for another day.
So we get to the Wrong Jedi Arc itself. We aren't shown how she meets Letta Turmond, how much of a partnership that was. Letta says Barriss was the mastermind of the operation but that's after she's jailed. I don't trust her. I mean, Letta is a grown woman and while Barriss was an idealistic and heartsick Jedi at that point she's just 17-18 according to Feloni. I can see it as a situation where a teenager gets politically radicalized and taken advantage by a woman she trusts. If we get a Letta flashback in Tales of the Empire I will be so happy!
Ahsoka is framed. But there's a multi-step aspect to it. Part A, Letta calls Ahsoka to the prison because she was told she was the only Jedi her collaborator trusted and gets Force choked by someone we do not see. Part B, after she is arrested someone leaves a key card outside her cell and she follows a trail of first injured then dead clones to make it look like she broke out and went on a killing spree. Part C is the only one we actually see start to finish, where Ahsoka contacts Barriss and she lures her to the factory that made the nano-droids.
Barriss is guilty of Part C. But did she do Part A and B? She was at the funeral with Ahsoka and heard same time as her that she was transferred to a military compound. Then in the maybe hour, two hours Ahsoka was in a mission briefing Barriss supposedly broke into a brand-new high security compound, got in the walls, and strangled Letta as Ahsoka was in the cell alone with her. Then Part B, she hung around undetected for a few more hours to set up the escape while also erasing the audio off the recording of the murder.
I personally think Palpatine MIGHT have done part A. He has much greater access and he has the motive (to take away a pillar of stability for Anakin). If Barriss did do Part A, what was the motivation? The most pessimistic reading is she did it to save her own skin and purposely framed Ahsoka. Another is that Barriss genuinely talked up Ahsoka to Letta, and did NOT do so to set her up but because she was one of the lonely girl's only friends (and maybe love interest) and then Letta goes ahead and calls her there, Barriss is in the walls, and she just cannot have Ahsoka's opinion of her ruined. She killed Letta to silence her from tainting this one friendship she had left, did so out of panic, and wasn't thinking of the consequences. Then Part B, oh no I got my girlfriend framed for murder. So she springs her out. So why does she kill those clones to further frame her?
Consider the conversation after the funeral, "Ahsoka, do you think it is right for us to ignore our emotions?" I think the subtext there was "Ahsoka, I'm hurting so much, join me to stop me." She was feeling her out to see if she felt the same about the war as she did. And she did Part B to see if Ahsoka would run, SO THEY COULD RUN AWAY TOGETHER. Sure, it's manipulative as all Hell, but that's the dark side for you. It was a test, and Ahsoka failed because as soon as she gets out, she calls Barriss to help clear her name. So that she could get back to the war. The war Barriss hates with all her being. So that's why she did Part C. She had been alienated by the Order and her own master by all these deployments and the one person left who she valued was buying into the propaganda that the Jedi needed to finish this war. It broke her. And she did something awful.
All and all I think her fall is fascinating because it wasn't for personal power or attachments, she wanted to sacrifice her own grace to save the souls of all other Jedi. She did it out of love for the Order, even if it came in such a twisted and destructive form. That's also why she'd become a lousy Inquisitor. They're the anthesis of all she stood for, an army fighting for the dark side.
I know a lot of fans hate this arc but... man that speech! I spent the whole Prequel trilogy and TCW waiting for a Jedi to stand up and say "What we are doing is wrong, we should stop." Yoda and Mace know their path is leading to the dark, but they see no other way but through. I just wanted someone to say no with their whole chest. And it was Barriss. That's why I love her, your honor. I admire the idealists, her and Satine. They should have teamed up and put a stop too all that nonsense.
Sorry this is so long? I have a lot of FEELINGS and now you can see why I have a lot of trepidation about this Saturday. You know, I thought of you last night when I was rewatching Tales of the Jedi. It was the scene were Dooku was leaving to meet Palpatine with Yaddle following in The Sith Lord. I was imagining how you felt watching that for the first time, and I remembered my reaction was "Oh no, it's the temple hangar! Barriss is going to blow the shit out of this place in a decade and change!"

MASTERLIST
(Image found on Google)
You wouldn’t be surprised if there was steam roiling off your skin from how hot you feel. Between your lack of pants and the confession that had just come from your lips, you may combust at any moment.
You can’t look them in the eye. You can’t look at them at all.
You can’t bear to see the horrified looks, the disappointment. You’re tense, waiting for the laughter, the jokes, the teasing.
“You’ve...what?”
The disbelief hits almost the hardest.
“Don’t be rude.” The smooth, sultry voice of your other partner is almost gentle in tone. You can almost see the way her eyes flash in warning despite your gaze being locked to the metal floor to your right.
“I’m not being rude, I’m just...shocked. How can an absolute babe never have...not even...have you at least been kissed before?”
“As a joke.” You murmur the words but they seem to echo through the quiet hull. “A boy in my class was dared by his friends to kiss me.”
It falls silent between the three of you once more. You keep your gaze averted, shame and embarrassment burning under your skin still. You pull your knees to your chest, wary of the blaster wound on your thigh.
That was what got you into this predicament in the first place.
The hunt had gone well, despite the fact you got shot. The removal of your pants to clean the wound had been the catalyst to the events, your face already burning by the time they had been tugged down to your ankles. Quinlan’s calloused fingers on your bare thigh had practically done you in, and then the invitation to drink to a successful hunt as was tradition had been the nail in your coffin.
The topic had come up, and the slight buzz of alcohol in your body had driven you to admitting your complete inexperience while sitting in nothing but your shirt and your panties.
You can almost hear the silent conversation between them, something they do often. You know they’re...different. They can use lightsabers, do things normal people like you can’t. They have stronger senses, cat-like reflexes. Their honest shock at your confession is the only indicator that they can’t just read your mind like a holonovel.
You feel so very...plain compared to them.
“It’s nothing to be embarrassed about.” Ventress says, shifting closer to you. “Like Quinlan said, we’re more surprised no one has ever jumped at the opportunity.”
“No one’s ever even looked at me like that.” You say, finally lifting your gaze to hers.
“They’re a bunch of fools.” She says, shifting even closer, her hand brushing your heated cheek. Her fingers feel cold against your heated skin. They’re always cold, but even more so with the blood rushing under your skin.
Your heart is thumping in your chest at her proximity. You feel nervous, your palms starting to sweat. You’ve been this close to her many times. It’s never felt like this before. There’s an energy between you, like an electrical charge. You can feel it pulsing under your skin.
Your little crush on them can’t be a secret. Not to them. It hadn’t taken long for you to fall for both of them, but you had never planned on revealing anything to them. You were more than happy to suffer in silence, doing nothing but watching and occasionally hearing. You’d take the playful teasing Quinlan and occasionally Ventress subjected you to. It was the closest you thought you’d ever get.
“We could do it for you.” Quinlan says, both yours and Ventress’ gazes snapping to him as he sits there, a playful smirk on his face. “If you wanted.”
“Would you like that?” Ventress asks, her voice taking on the sultry tone she used with quarries when she flirted so effortlessly with them. “Would you want one of us to give you some...experience?”
The alcohol pumping through your system wants you to scream yes. You want to scream yes too, but you’ve hit a dilemma. Who would you want to do it? You trust both of them, and you want both of them.
Ventress hums, leaning down close to your face. “Sleep on it.” Her breath fans your ear. “We’ll talk about it again when you’re sober.” Her lips press against your cheek, cool and soft against your warm skin.
You’re a little disappointed as she pulls away, but you know she’s right. You’d rather think this over sober, and you know they don’t want to feel like they’re taking advantage of you, or that you might regret it in the morning.
***
The alcohol was the only thing that helped you actually sleep. Your mind had raced until it lulled itself to sleep with thoughts of the events that had just transpired. You remember it all when you wake, every word, every bit of the conversation. You don’t rise right away as you usually do, instead you take the time to really think about their offer.
They were offering to fuck you. One of them would wipe the label of virgin from you for good, and they wanted to. No jokes, no tricks, no teasing. You had felt the sincerity in their words. They cared enough to want you to make the decision sober.
That was the hard part, though. Choosing one of them.
Quinlan was likely to be the most romantic of the two. Perhaps more gentle and easygoing about it. Though, from the things you’ve heard and how he fights...it makes you a little afraid. Ventress oozes passion and dominance, but you know how ruthless and fierce she can be. You know neither of them would hurt you on purpose. They would take care of you.
Then the image of both of them pops into your head. Quinlan’s strong chest against your back, Ventress’ lithe body pressed against your front, both of their hands and mouths on you. Heat blooms between your thighs, your legs pressing tightly together under the blankets. Would they be willing to both be involved? They’re already familiar with each other, and they’re willing to at least allow this to happen.
The only way you’ll know is if you ask.
Heat blooms under your skin again as you toss off your blanket, rising from your makeshift bunk. You climb down into the hull where you know they have to be, the confidence that had surged through you suddenly disappears as your feet hit the metal. They had been training, Quinlan’s chest bare, his dark skin beaded with sweat.
You swallow thickly, trying to keep the quickly waning confidence as you approach them.
“I want you both.” You say, your voice shaking as you stand before them. You curse it and your nerves. “I want you both to...to take my virginity.”
They share a look, a million words being shared in a short moment as they silently communicate. They turn back to you, matching smirks lifting their lips. They slowly step towards you and your heart begins to race even faster. You wonder if this is how the quarries feel when they’re being cornered.
“You really want us both?” Quinlan asks, stepping around you until he’s hovering behind you. You can feel the heat radiating off his chest.
“Yes.” You say, voice breathy as Ventress closes the distance in front of you, her fingers lifting to grip your chin. “I-I have...for a while.”
Ventress’ smirk widens as she stares at you. “We know. We were waiting for you to say something, but after your confession last night we realized why you’ve never said anything until now.”
You jump as hands close around your waist, Quinlan’s breath fanning your ear. “We didn’t realize you were so innocent. We thought you were just a shy little thing.”
Blood is rushing in your ears from being so close to both of them, your head swimming. You feel like you might pass out, like your legs might give out and they’ve barely touched you.
Ventress leans in closer, her breath fanning your lips. “Let’s move this somewhere more comfortable.”
You let out a yelp of surprise as suddenly you’re off the ground and in Quinlan’s arms. You’re silently grateful he’s carrying you, as you doubt you could get your legs to move without crumpling to the floor.
They take you to their bunk, a space you’ve only seen in passing. It’s comfortable, obviously having been remodeled a bit. Quinlan sits you down on the edge of the bed, the mattress firm under you. It’s nicer than yours, though your bed was sort of pieced together last minute. You weren’t supposed to stay with them very long, but it’s been months now and they haven’t once asked you about leaving.
You suppose that’s not something you’ll have to worry about after today.
Quinlan kneels down in front of you, one hand cupping your cheek. His skin is warm, and he smells a bit like sweat from his training session. “Don’t worry.” He says, obviously picking up on the nerves squirming in your stomach. “We’ll take care of you.” He leans in, breath fanning your face before he closes the distance, pressing his lips to yours.
It’s softer than the only other kiss you’ve had in your life. You’re not sure what to do, the thousands of holofilms you’ve seen suddenly disappearing from your mind as Quinlan kisses you. He presses closer to you, tilting his head as he deepens the kiss. Your hands close around his arms, his muscles flexing as he wraps his arms around you.
You’re panting as he’s suddenly pulled from your mouth, Ventress standing over you both. “You got your kiss.” She says, tugging him away from you. “Now it’s my turn.”
Nerves and excitement tangle together in your stomach as Quinlan backs away from you, allowing Ventress to take his place. She’s removed most of her clothes, your cheeks warming as your eyes trail her body. Tattoos line her pale skin, sloping over curves and strong muscle. More heat pools between your legs as you stare at her, warmth blooming across your face as you meet her gaze.
“Like what you see?” She almost purrs, reaching out to cup your chin again.
You nod, swallowing the nervous lump in your throat. “Yes.”
She smirks, cool fingers stroking your skin. “Good girl.”
Something shocks through you at her words, your thighs clenching in excitement.
“I think she liked that.” Quinlan says, stepping up behind her. His arms wrap around her waist, lips trailing across her shoulder.
Ventress hums, eyes lidded as she stares down at you. “I agree.” Her eyes quickly trail your form. “Take off your shirt.”
Your fingers tremble as they reach for the hem of your shirt, slowly lifting it over your head. Your skin warms even more as you find yourself in nothing but your underwear and breastband in front of them.
“And your breastband.” Ventress says, her hands coming to rest against Quinlan’s on her stomach.
You can’t hide the shake of your hands as you slowly pull your breastband off, dropping it on the floor with your shirt. You force yourself to meet their gaze again, both of them staring down at you appreciatively.
“Beautiful.” Quinlan groans, his chin resting on Ventress’ shoulder as he stares at you. “If I knew she was this hot, I would have suggested this sooner.”
You grow bashful under their stare, Ventress slipping from Quinlan’s hold to move closer to you.
“On the bed.” She orders, your body moving before you even realize it.
You push yourself back until you’re in the center of the bed, goosebumps forming on your skin as Ventress kneels on the end of the bed, crawling toward you like a dangerous predator. You’re forced onto your back as she crawls over your body until you’re face to face. She hovers over you, nerves and excitement rushing through you again.
“Relax.” She whispers, lowering herself until her lips are brushing yours. “We’re going to take good care of you.”
Her lips are cool and soft as they press against yours, her tongue licking at your lips. Your lips part, allowing her in as she presses her body against yours, skin smooth and cool against your own heated body.
Your head begins to buzz as she kisses her way down your neck, licking and nipping at the skin. She continues to kiss her way down your body until she reaches the waistband of your underwear. Her fingers trail the skin right above it, goosebumps forming on your skin again. Her lips lift in a smirk as she dips her fingers below the waistband, sitting up to tug your underwear down your thighs. She tosses them behind her before trailing her hands back up your legs.
She parts your thighs, baring your post private parts to her eyes. You’re already damp, folds slick with arousal. “Have you ever touched yourself?” She asks, dragging her fingers up your inner thighs.
“O-Once.” You swallow thickly, legs trembling as she reaches the junction of your thighs. It was one of the nights you heard them. The lust and the yearning had gotten to be too much and you’d silently slipped a hand into your underwear.
“Did you make yourself cum?” She asks with a smirk, watching your face as she ghosts her thumb over your clit.
“Yes!” You gasp, a tingling feeling burning through you as she circles your clit with her thumb. It’s so different from your own touch, so different from being under your own control.
Your hands grip the sheets as she slips a finger lower, prodding at your entrance. It’s a strange sensation as her finger pushes into you, your walls gripping her tightly.
“Such a tight little thing.” She murmurs, lowering herself until her mouth is level with your clit.
You watch with parted lips as her tongue darts out, the tip flicking your clit. You let out a quiet sound at the sensation as her tongue circles the sensitive bud, her finger slowly thrusting into you, working you open.
The end of the bed dips as Quinlan kneels behind Ventress, his pants gone. Your eyes widen at the sight of his cock between his legs. It’s big and hard, your pussy clenching at the thought of fitting that inside you.
Ventress pulls away from your clit, turning her head to look back at Quinlan. “I think she likes you.” She says, letting Quinlan lift her hips up so she’s on her knees.
“How tight is she?” He asks, smoothing a hand across Ventress’ back.
“You’d split her right down the middle.” Ventress says, a second finger prodding at your entrance.
“You’ve got some work to do.” Quinlan says, his own hand slipping between Ventress’ thighs.
You clamp around Ventress’ fingers as she works a second one into you. She presses a gentle kiss to your clit, slowly sinking her fingers into you. “Relax. It’ll hurt if you’re too tense.”
You let out a shaky breath, trying to relax your body as she returns to sucking at your clit. Quiet moans vibrate through you as Quinlan teases her slick folds, his eyes meeting yours as he works her up.
You feel warm for an entirely different reason now, heat pooling in your stomach as Ventress sucks and licks at your clit. Quiet sounds slip through your lips, your hands gripping onto the sheets as pleasure burns through you.
“Don’t hold back.” Ventress says with a gasp as Quinlan sinks his cock into her. “Let me hear you.”
She curls her fingers, hitting something deep inside you. A sound you weren’t sure you could even make leaves your lips, white hot pleasure burning through you. Your thighs try to clamp around her face but they’re suddenly pushed open, unable to move. You stare down at Ventress with wide eyes, her own shining with a mischievous glint.
Quinlan’s hands grip her hips as he begins to move, thrusting into her. She moans into your pussy, focusing her efforts on your clit as she works you open. Your back arches, body writhing uncontrollably as pleasure continues to build within you. You feel like you’re hurtling towards a cliff and you can’t stop. You’re going to fall off the edge and there’s nothing you can do to change the direction.
Ventress curls her fingers inside you again and suddenly you’re falling over the edge, body shaking as you cum around her fingers. It’s a bit uncomfortable as she pulls her fingers from you, your pussy spasming and fluttering around nothing. She laps at your entrance, tasting your cum on her tongue as Quinlan continues to fuck her.
Her hands wrap around your thighs, holding on as Quinlan picks up his pace, the sound of his skin meeting hers loud in the room. You watch them, unable to do anything but lay there as they fuck, pinned under the awe and beauty of Ventress’ pleasure and the Force still holding your thighs open.
Ventress’ eyes roll back as she lets out a loud moan, her nails digging into your thighs. Her back arches, pressing back against Quinlan. You can see the slight shake to her thighs as Quinlan pulls free from her, hands holding her steady as she cums.
Her cheek rests against your thigh as she comes down from her high, arousal already slicking your folds once more. The pressure holding your thighs in place releases, your legs flopping uselessly to the bed. Quinlan gently rubs Ventress’ back as she catches her breath, her lips pressing a kiss to your inner thigh.
“Are you ready?” She asks, pushing herself up onto her hands and knees.
Your eyes dart nervously to Quinlan’s still hard cock, the skin glistening with Ventress’ juices. You gulp before nodding, letting your gaze flick back to Ventress.
“Don’t be nervous.” She soothes you, crawling up towards your head. “We’ll make it as comfortable as we can.”
She slips behind you, reclining back against the headboard. She wraps her arms around you, tugging you back against her chest. She parts your thighs over her own, holding you open for Quinlan to see. He crawls between your thighs, eyes glued to your slick folds. Your face warms as his hands slide up your thighs, thumbs parting your lips.
“How does she taste?” He asks, voice low and gruff.
“Sweet.” Ventress asks, gripping the back of his neck as he leans over you, kissing her.
He groans against her lips, their kiss all tongues and teeth, your lips parting as you watch them kiss over you. You gasp as Quinlan’s fingers drag through your folds, a thick finger prodding your entrance. The sensation is very different as he presses a finger into you, sliding in easily after Ventress’ work opening you up.
He groans against her lips again, nipping at her bottom lip as he pulls away, thrusting his finger into you. “You were right, she is a tight little thing.”
He works a second finger into you, stretching you further than Ventress did. It’s a bit uncomfortable at first, but Ventress’ hands cup your breasts, fingers brushing over your nipples sending sparks of pleasure straight between your legs. She continues her ministrations as Quinlan withdraws his fingers from your pussy, stroking them over his cock, slicking it with your juices.
Ventress leans down to your ear, her breath fanning your skin. “Relax.” One of her hands slides across your stomach, trying to ease the tension in your body as Quinlan settles between your legs.
“Ready?” He asks, looking at you as he drags his cock through your folds.
You nod, letting out a shaky breath. One of his hands settles on your hip, thumb stroking your skin as he lines himself up, pressing into your tight hole. You gasp at the sensation, body jolting from the burning stretch as he pushes inside. Ventress wraps her arms around your chest, whispering quiet praises in your ear as Quinlan works his way into you slowly.
“Good girl.” His voice rumbles in your ears, his hands stroking your skin as he slowly eases into you. “You alright?”
You nod, chest heaving at the sensation of him being inside of you. It’s almost too much, the uncomfortable burning stretch and the knowledge of what was happening. It’s not painful, though, like you heard it could be sometimes.
Quinlan breathes out a curse as he seats himself fully inside you, his hips stilling.
“Don’t cum too soon.” Ventress says slyly. “We don’t want her first time to be a disappointment.”
Quinlan lifts his gaze to her, a smirk on his lips. “Don’t worry. I’m fine. It’s our sweet girl I’m worried about.” He says, lifting his hand to your chin, his thumb brushing your lower lip.
“I’m fine.” You gasp out, body slowly relaxing around his cock. Your skin is slick with sweat, sweat beading on Quinlan’s forehead as well.
“Good.” He says, lowering his hands to your hips.
Ventress relaxes her hold on you as Quinlan pulls back, drawing his cock from inside you before pushing back in. You gasp at the sensation, watching his cock move in and out of you. Ventress returns her attention to your breasts, teasing your nipples as Quinlan moves inside you.
It’s better than you thought it ever could be, sandwiched between them as they bring you pleasure you’ve never known before. Your trust for them only continues to grow as they do as they promised, making it as easy and painless as possible. Even if this is the only time you get to do this with them, you’re glad it happened. Months of pining and tension are released as they work you up, Quinlan’s thrusts picking up speed as Ventress focuses her attention on your sensitive clit. You can’t do anything but moan and shake between them, letting them play your body like an instrument as they hit all the right spots.
“Let go for me.” Quinlan grunts, his grip on your hips tight, thrusts starting to get sloppy. “Let me feel you cum.”
You arch back against Ventress, letting out another sound you didn’t know you were capable of as you cum, fluttering around Quinlan’s cock. He groans, pulling himself from inside you as his hand takes over, jerking himself until he cums on your stomach.
You’re still shaking from your orgasm as Ventress wipes your stomach clean with the sheets, Quinlan maneuvering your body until you’re on your side between them, Ventress pressed up against your back. Quinlan reaches across you to wrap his arm around Ventress, sandwiching you between them again.
It falls silent between you for a moment, your mind processing what had just happened. Ventress’ fingers draw lazy patterns on your hip, Quinlan’s arm tightening just slightly around both of you.
“I think we should keep her.” Ventress says, breaking the silence.
Quinlan grins, leaning forward to kiss your forehead, then he leans over you to kiss Ventress. “I agree.” He lays back down, eyes shining with something you can’t quite name as he stares at you. “Our sweet girl.”

OKAY HEAR ME OUT
I really don’t think Omega will leave with Ventress in the end.
Asajj is being set up for a future in Star Wars. Her voice actress said that her role in The Bad Batch is “just an appetizer” for what’s to come. There’s a world of possibilities for her.
Then a recent interview with Michelle Ang comes to mind where she talks about how they explored different endings for Omega before settling on one:
“there were slightly different ways [of the show ending]. We weren’t set on exactly how it was going to end. There was… some exploration, but as an actor, an emotional moment was the ending we landed on. It was like the culmination of my journey as a performer and Omega’s journey as a character all consolidated into, two lines.”
“Omega was set up with the possibility of a very large future [in the Star Wars galaxy], and then it changed from there.” Ang described this “new ending” as “bittersweet.”
Omega was going to have a large future. That changed. I feel like that means she was going to originally leave with Ventress, but they decided to go a different route.
I’ve been thinking about the overarching theme of The Bad Batch. What is the message? What are Omega’s motives?
Michelle talks about it some more in the interview, and I think it gives great perspective to where the story might lead:
“If you look at the broader perspective, at the end of the day, The Bad Batch is [about] a young person who has been fortunate enough to have the right kind of guidance to believe in herself and in what she can contribute to the world. That's such a universal story.” For Ang, it’s less about why Omega came into the galaxy and more about who she can become in it. “It's about growing up. It's the path that every young person goes through until they feel like they're ready to step out into the world.”
Step out into the world. Those are telling words. Growing up, moving on. Omega’s learned a lot over the course of these few seasons. There might come a time where there is no more for her to learn from her brothers. She might still very well leave her brothers in the end.
But not with Ventress. She will be given that choice and ultimately turn it down.
Then I think back to DBB’s interview about the finale:
“The emotions that are in play are real, human emotions, not just one of being a family member or a friend, but also of being a father, a father to a daughter… And so, not to get into it too much, there’s a lot of authenticity that’s in play with how the season finally, in its epilogue, plays out. And it’s very affecting and it’s very beautiful and um, I’ll defy you to avoid tears.”
Real human emotions. Things that parents, fathers, have to go through is letting their children go when they’re grown. Giving up that responsibility and trusting your kid to be okay.
Now, I don’t know how that “letting go” situation will play out. I still think there’s a really large possibility that at least one of the boys will die (you can read my theory about who I think it’ll be and why) and there will have to be letting go on both sides.
Then there’s that word epilogue. We could be getting an epilogue scene like we did in Rebels. Maybe Omega decides to stay with her brothers in the real time ending (she is still so young, she needs to be raised), and then in the epilogue a few years in the future, it shows her grown and leaving to be on her own. Or start her own Batch.
However it ends, we know it will be touching. Will it rival the Clone Wars ending? Maybe. I think so. But this ending won’t be so tragic. There will be hope. Which I think, in our world, we desperately need.

TBB S3 TRAILER
Holy FUCK I was not prepared for this.
As soon as I saw the trailer posted on Instagram, I grabbed my laptop and casted the trailer on the TV and stood in front of the TV like an old asian man; hands behind the back, spine bent, feet planted shoulder width apart.
Cannot believe it's finally here and I've got a lot of thoughts that I'm going to put under the cut because holy shit, this trailer hit me like a brick.
Idk if they will be comprehensive honestly but I'm writing them down as I rewatch the trailer.
In summary though? This season is going to absolutely wreck me and I will never recover from it emotionally and probably financially too if we get a new wave of merch and shit with it too.
Anyways, thoughts and reactions under the cut-
What the fuck are they doing with that transport? They stealing something? Retrieving something? Is it a tank? Hello, where is Echo??? IS THAT FUCKING CROSSHAIR?! IN S1 ARMOR???
PHEE GENOA!! so fucking great to see her again, I'm going to be absolutely devastated if they show us her reaction to Tech's supposed death.
CAPTAIN REX MY LOVE YOU'VE COME HOME!! "I thought the end of the war would mean the end to losing more of our brothers" <- that better be about Tech and not about Cody, so help me god-
OMEGA'S NEW HAIRCUT :( she looks so much older now :((
STOP CROSSHAIR LOOKS SO FUCKING SAD. I feel terrible actually... this is like,, this is a shell of a man,, like,, this is a man who's got like,, nothing. He looks awful and I swear if he doesn't get some peace of mind I'm going to lose my mind.
"Omega's been waiting for us a long time." NO NO NO DON'T FUCKING DO THIS TO ME. I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD IF YOU DO A TIMESKIP, ANY MEASURE OF TIME THAT OMEGA HAD TO BE WITHOUT HER BROTHERS AND WONDERING WHEN THEY WERE GOING TO COME AND GET HER IT'S GOING TO BREAK ME. I fucking hate timeskips so much, I swear if she's been by herself for more than a year, or even just a year, I'm going to be PISSED. If she doesn't get the chance to be a kid like she deserves I'm going to fucking lose it.
PALPATINE?! "There is nothing of greater importance to secure the purpose of this Empire" <- y'all talking about cloning? About cloning Palpatine because you have to explain why "somehow Palpatine returned"???
HEY WHO THE FUCK IS THIS?!
Holy shit the animation is really good. Like that whole fighting montage?? The fucking scene on the bridge looks like,, fucking live action to me. Idk how to describe it but the animation is fuckng beautiful and I wish Star Wars did more animation because this is gorgeous.
FENNEC SHAND MY LOVE!! MY WIFE RETURNS!!! PLEASE BE IN MORE THAN ONE EPISODE MY QUEEN I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!! and Cad Bane is there too ig-
"They are coming, for all of you." <- who is this. do not come for me but I cannot for the life of me figure out who this is. It's not Cody, I don't see the scar. Someone help me out here-
WOLFFE IS BACK BABY!!! FUCK I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE HIM IN TBB ART STYLE
HUNTER ON PABU! Thinking they probably went back after everything and I want to see how they've adjusted and settled in, please, I am begging.
My baby, my angel, myivida, the light of my life. Fuck it's so good to see and hear you again. If anything happens to you I swear to god-
LMAOO DID HUNTER JUST GET YOINKED BY A SPACE CROC?!?! WAIT THEY'RE ON THE BOAT WITH FENNEC!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAA
There are two clips that allude to the fact that they get Crosshair out of there before they get Omega and I'm going feral over it. If this means we get them reuniting with Crosshair sooner than later I'm fucking ecstatic. Like because,, that's Crosshair's rifle and they clearly cropped the screen for the sake of the trailer, right? Right??
Hey where is the zillo beast?
ASAJJ VENTRESS??!?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! You're telling me,, I get a season,, with Wrecker, Wolffe, Fennec, AND Asajj? Oh be still my beating heart. Anyone hear something meowing?
Also I know in the trailer it seems like she's facing off with TBB but the backgrounds don't really seem to line up so I'm hoping they don't actually face off with each other.
Tech literally only being indirectly mentioned and showing his death scene again but recolored and shit makes me feel all kinds of things.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
3 EPISODE PREMIERE?!?!?!?!?!?! fuck me.
Echo wasn't in this trailer enough and where the FUCK was Cody?!?!?!?!
Fuck.

Walking through the red misty, desolate village on Dathomir, searching for Ventress, you can’t help but let your mind wonder. What would your life be like if you’d continued down the Sith path? Would you have still stuck with Echo? Would he have been able to tempt you to “come to the light side” as he put it? You’re almost certain that there’s no way in hell that you and Echo can work past this. You’re just too different.
But Maker, you already miss the warmth of his chest and the coolness of his metal limbs.
“Well, well, well.” You hear a familiar sultry voice purr. “Look who’s found me.”
“Ventress.” You smile politely, turning toward her.
“Don’t tell me you’ve tried to come and collect the bounty on me.” She chuckles, having her lightsabers ready to strike you down.
You shrug. “Thought about it.”
“And then realized it was a terrible idea?” She leans against a wall.
You stand across from her, at a safe length, in case she decides to try to kill you anyway. “I thought maybe we could stick together again?”
“Who are you running from?” She smirks, putting her lightsabers away.
With a sigh, you come and stand next to her against the stone wall.
“Who is he?” She asks. “Or she? Or they?”
She’s really enjoying this. Perhaps it just proves that you still aren’t cut out for this lifestyle.
“The clone I saved on Skako Minor…” You murmur, your thoughts going to his lips against your skin again.
If there
“Ah.” She hums. “And what happened?”
This is the most she’s ever asked you. Maybe she was going soft too. You didn’t dare tease her about it, though.
You look at her. “He couldn’t trust me. Couldn’t see past what I used to be.”
“Trust isn’t everything…” She shrugs with a teasing smirk and pulls herself off the wall, motioning for you to follow.
You quietly follow beside her, walking through the rundown village.
“I had a lover too, once…” She murmurs, thoughtfully. “His name was Quinlan. He was… a Jedi.”
Your eyes go wide at her confession. “What?”
“Don’t be so surprised someone could love me.” She half jokes.
“That’s not what I’m surprised about, Asajj.” You look at her. “You hate the Jedi…”
“That’s true. I did hate the Jedi. Good thing they’re not around anymore, right?” She stops as she comes to a cave-like structure.
Is this where she’s been hiding out? You remember the Nightsisters. They were supposedly witches, able to use dark magic.
“Back to your roots, hm?” You feel the cool stone wall.
“Har har.” She leads you to a large door and you watch as she pushes in on a rock that was otherwise hidden to the naked eye and the stone door opens.
You follow her through the door and what you find is shocking, to say the least. A large cavernous opening with stone structures with pools of water running around them. It looks like a mini city.
“Shortly before the end of the war… I brought Quinlan here. To teach him the ways of the dark side. I wanted to help him kill Dooku… But he wasn’t able to.” She looks down at the glowing blue water as she talks.
For the first time ever, you think she looks sad. But you don’t say anything.
“He wanted to further the Jedi mission after the fall of their precious order. I told him that wasn’t my path and we parted ways.” She looks up at you before continuing walking down the rock path toward one of the stone structures.
“I’m sorry.” You tell her as you walk up a set of stone stairs.
“I don’t want your pity.” She turns around at the top of the step to look down at you.
Holding your hands up in surrender. “It’s not pity. It’s compassion.”
“Yeah, well. Keep it at the door or go with it.” She continues walking until she reaches some sort of living space. “You can stay here for a few days if you want.”
“Thank you.” You nod.
She nods back and leaves you to your own devices.
Now what?
You hear your name and you look up in time to see Master Dooku shaking his head at you.
“Sorry, Master.” You stare down at your breakfast, sitting across from him at the abnormally long table.
“How am I to teach you if you do not focus?” He asks you.
“May I be excused?” You look up at him, angrily.
Dooku sighs and nods, waving you away. You quickly get up and walk out of the dining hall to the long hallway and to the lift. For the last couple days, all you’d been able to think about was the city, wanting to go for a walk through their markets, see their locals, taste their food… But Dooku had told you no.
Well, today is the day that you don’t care anymore. Yesterday had been the last straw where you’d decided to stop trying to please him. You needed to get out of the palace.
“Where are you going?” You hear a sultry voice behind you as you hop on one of the speeder bikes.
You turn to find Ventress leaning against the palace wall. “What does it matter?”
“You’re in a mood today.” She smirks. “Training didn’t go well yesterday?”
You roll your eyes and start the bike up, pulling away from the hangar, speeding away toward the city.
“Hungry?” Asajj asks you, offering you a bowl of some sort of soup.
You take it from her, nodding a thanks to her. She sits at the table across the room and you take the soup and join her, sitting on her right like you used to do when she lived in Dooku’s palace with you.
“Did you know who your parents were?” You ask her.
She pauses to look at you.
“Sorry. Never mind.” You continue eating your soup, looking down at the bowl.
Asajj lets out a soft sigh. “I did. They died when I was young. A warlord named Osika Kirske killed them. I was originally trained as a Jedi padawan… and then my Master was killed… So, I decided to walk the path of the dark side…”
You didn’t know that. Honestly, you used to be too afraid to ask her anything about herself, finding it best to just mind your business.
“Do you know about yours?” She asks.
“My parents?” You ask.
She nods but you shake your head.
“I do.” She murmurs.
“You… know about my parents?” You ask confused.
She nods again. “If you want to know…”
Do you want to know? Why would Ventress know about them? Why would she wait until now to say anything? A million questions run through your mind.
“I can see your little mind going to work. And before I say anything… You need to know a few things.” She starts. “One… I found out purely by accident. Two… when I did find out… I went to Dooku and he forbade me from telling you. Threatened me even.”
Why would he forbid her from telling you?
You think about it a few more moments while you finish eating. Pushing the bowl away, you look back up at Asajj.
“Alright… Tell me.” You sit up straighter, keeping a straight face.
She searches your eyes for a second, perhaps trying to decide if you’ll handle the news well.
“Your mother was the daughter of Jenza Dooku. The sister of Master Dooku.” She tells you, quietly.
Time seems to stop right then. Like everything just sort of slows down. Your heartbeat. Your blinking. Your brain…
“Wait… No…” You struggle to form words. “No, because then that would mean…”
“That Dooku was your great uncle, yes.” She takes a drink of her wine.
“And he knew.”
“He knew.”
You stand up abruptly, deciding to pace. Needing to move.
“There’s more.” She stands up with you, but slower.
That could only mean the news wasn’t good.
“What is it?”
You don’t miss the way that her eyes quickly glance to the saberstaff laying on the bed that you’d set it on earlier.
“What…” You start again, but she cuts you off.
“I killed her…” She looks at you.
You suppose you should feel anger… But only confusion courses through your veins. And then you realize why she glanced at your saber. She was afraid you’d try to attack her.
“Why?” You furrow your brows in frustration at your emotions.
“Dooku wanted her dead… She had planned to reveal his plans to the Republic… so he sent me to assassinate her… I… didn’t want to. But he threatened me. I-I told her I was sorry. Her last words to me were to protect you.” She murmurs.
As you stroll the streets of Carannia, just a ways away from the palace, you find the stress melting away from your body. As if you could breathe again for the first time. You even smile for what feels like the first time in days.
Watching as two children pass a ball back and forth to each other, you can’t help but chuckle when the older of the two kicks it and it goes between the younger’s legs, making the young one almost flip trying to catch it. Then, you find a food stand, immediately being drawn to the smell of whatever bird is roasting over the pit.
“I’ll take a bit of that, please.” You smile at the vendor.
He nods, smiling kindly as you hand him a few credits when he hands you the food.
“Make it two.” The sultry tone is behind you again and you can’t help the roll of your eyes.
“What are you doing here?” You ask Ventress, angrily. “Sent to retrieve me again?”
The vendor hands Ventress a small bowl of what you have and she tosses him a few credits, causing him to give her a dirty look. She winks at him and he immediately turns away from her.
“What do you think of this little market?” She asks.
“What are you doing here?” You ask her again.
“You’re crazy if you think that I’m going to let you wander off by yourself only for something to happen to Dooku’s little pet. He’d kill me.” She takes a bite of the food and then makes a face, dumping the rest of it in your bowl and tossing the paper to some random bystander.
“I’m not his pet.” You glare up at her.
She may be taller than you, more lethal than you, more crude than you… but you could be just as rude.
“So you’re not his pet. You’re still helpless.” She walks beside you as you look at all the vendor booths. “I saw your lessons yesterday and how they went. Imagine if someone like me attacked you right now.”
She more or less had a point… but you wouldn’t admit that to her. She ends up following beside you in silence and later, when you return to the palace and Dooku asks you where you’ve been, she tells him that she was trying to train you. It’s that moment that you realize she may not be all bad… That maybe you could even look up to her one day.
“I’ve… I’ve gotta go…” You back away from her.
She calls your name as you grab your staff and run out of the stone structure, back down the steps, and back toward the cave entrance where you came. You just need to get away from here… Away from her… You don’t know what to do or what to think. All you know is that you’ve just traveled all this way and you don’t even know if she was worth it…
She killed your grandmother. Asajj Ventress assassinated your grandmother. What are you supposed to do with that information? Seek revenge? You didn’t even know Jenza… You don’t know anything about your biological family…
As you walk back toward your ship, you see the Batch’s ship and then you see Echo waiting on the steps of their hatch and your chest tightens. He waited…
When he sees you, he immediately starts walking toward you. You know that you can’t tell him about your grandmother… about Ventress… you just can’t. He’ll deem her too dangerous and want to collect that bounty.
No, you need to lie…
“It’s been hours… You’re still here?” You ask him, when he reaches you.
“I couldn’t stand the thought of leaving you here, not knowing if you were alright. I figured if you weren’t back by nightfall, we’d come looking for you.” He tells you, still giving you some space.
You smile slightly at the sentiment. “Thank you.”
“Did you find her?” He asks.
“Only found an empty village.” You try to remain as close to the truth as possible, not wanting to lie to him.
He nods, accepting this. Anything you were feeling about Ventress or Jenza or Dooku gets pushed way down deep for now.
“I… I need to tell you something.” He murmurs, stepping closer.
You look around him and find his brothers all waiting at the hatch for him.
“What is it?” You look back up at him.
“I don’t want to give up on us. For the first time in a long long time, I finally feel content. Waking up next to you every single morning is what keeps me going.” He takes your hands.
You glance back at his brothers and Echo rolls his eyes.
“I don’t care what they think. You make me happy. I love you and I have since the moment that you told General Skywalker off about clone rights.” He squeezes your hands. “You don’t have to say it back-”
Instead of using your words, which seem to be failing you at the moment anyway, you crush your lips to his and you can tell it’s taken him by surprise. He lets go of your hands so that he can pull you closer against him by your waist, wrapping his arm and his scomp around you. Instinctively, you slide your arms around his neck and smile against his lips.
“It’s a good thing I feel the same way.” You cup his cheek.
“I’ll say.” He pulls you to him again, kissing you gently. No matter what you’re going through, you know that eventually you’ll be able to tell Echo the truth about your past. The only question is when.

Show Me Yours And I'll Show You Mine - Asajj Ventress x Crosshair (Part 1)
AN: Like many of you, the Harbinger episode gave me much to think about, and before I knew it, the Ventross ship was already sailing.
CW: None for this part, except for our two baddies having a bit of a rematch, and Ventress making Crosshair sweat a little bit. (They're just training, folks!... For now...)
Word count: 2.8k ⎮ Read on ao3 ⎮ Part 2
It is a beautiful day on Pabu, a sky so blue you can barely make out where it meets the see, not a single cloud on the horizon. A day like most days on the island, Ventress has come to notice, and the perfect opportunity for her to train and meditate on this quiet morning. Initially, the plan had been to find Omega, test her abilities and hop onto the next job. Business as usual. But a week had already gone by, and Ventress was in no hurry to set sail for another planet, and especially not to take another contract.
She picks a remote spot; her days of voluntary solitude as a Sith apprentice are far behind her, but she still enjoys the quiet. Perhaps now more than ever before. Calm is hard to come by in a life like hers, so she gives it her best effort to enjoy and cherish it whenever it comes her way. She sits with her legs crossed, eyes closed, her lightsaber placed carefully next to her. It’s a funny thing, how a mere object can bring such serenity and comfort to an individual. There is no qualms about the fact that she can survive well enough without it, but it’s part of her identity, a testament of her life’s work, of her successes, and her failures. They are indissociable.
Ventress shuts out the superfluous thoughts just like she knows how to, and turns her focus towards the life all around her. She aligns her breathing to the slow lulling of the waves against the shore, surrendering to its rhythm completely, until the rise and fall of her chest follows. Ever since her awareness of the Force, this has always been her favourite part, becoming the vessel of an entity much bigger than herself, and to let its essence flow within her. Letting go has always been difficult, after being controlled and manipulated from all ends, Ventress has had a compulsive need to control, both herself and others, more often than not. Here, it’s like standing on the edge of a precipice, unknown territory, until finally she reaches her goal. Complete serenity, a perfect sense of calm and control, over herself and the elements surrounding her. Balance. It has been a long journey, but she’s finally there.
This is not so bad, quiet meditation facing the sea on a day like this, she could get used to it. Ventress smiles dismissively at the idea. Have the years made her soft? Has spending time with Omega? She bats the thought away and recentralises her focus.
On occasion, a curious moon-yo comes to sniff around. They’re quite sociable creatures, although a little skittish. Ventress holds out her arm and the little green primate reaches with its hands to grab at it before climbing on her right shoulder. Friendlier creatures than the species found on Dathomir, that much is certain. She allows this little moment to gently pull out of her meditation. Time for some combat practice.
The yellow blade that gushes out of the lightsaber still feels foreign to Ventress, the confirmation of a new chapter in her life. She begins her usual routine, moving the weapon with fluid grace, form after form as the sun rises higher in the sky. Strike, parry, and repeat, all done with flawless precision and movements, the blade cutting through the air with a hum. Almost an hour passes before Ventress still herself, and takes a moment to really breathe, feeling the cool wind whisper through her short hair; and then resumes her training. For anyone watching, it looks like a dance, a very deadly dance, but not devoid of grace— some would even say beauty.
At least that is what Crosshair would say, as he quietly approaches Ventress’ space. He’s been watching her for a good two minutes now, and while he is no stranger to single combat, this is definitely not the clones’ preferred style. They were raised to operate as an army, units of thousands of clones, sent to the front lines to fall like pawns in a board game. There’s no beauty or grace in war, and right now, he feels the slightest amount of envy. What a privilege it is to look your opponent in the eye, to study them as they study you. No stray bullets, no booby traps or hidden mines. Only skill, observation, and sometimes respect, if you’re lucky.
Ventress is still facing away, to the sea. She knows he is here, standing a couple of feet away from her, and wonders if he knows, or simply doesn’t care that he is not as sneaky as he thinks he is. Let him have the benefit of the doubt, she smiles to herself. For several minutes, she gives no indication that she is aware of his presence, repeating the forms that have been drilled into her, first by Jedi Master Ky Narec, then by Count Dooku, with a little less patience and a decidedly more aggressive pedagogy, if you can call it that. She is a better fighter for it, there is no denying that, but the reminder of those years are still painful. Ventress has long accepted that this wound will never heal, and that she must move on, for her own sake.
Crosshair is still standing there watching, arms crossed, and clearly he doesn’t intend to make his presence known. Ventress quickly takes the hint. Those clones, utterly incapable of initiating anything without being told what to do. Ever the good little soldiers.
"Came here to learn a few things, clone?" She is well aware of how much they hate to be called that, and has no intention of letting him down easy; no particular reason. "Would you like me to slow down a little bit so you can keep up?"
"I don’t need to learn anything from you." Ventress throws him a quick questioning look before resuming her movements, which have become more and more complex since Crosshair arrived. All on purpose, of course.
"Seeing how our last encounter went, I’d beg to differ."
"You caught me on a bad day." He says with barely concealed bitterness. Also, he doesn’t believe a single word, but that’s an information he will keep to himself. Ventress scoffs.
"And I suppose your brothers too were having a bad day then?" She taunts between two sophisticated backflips. "Oh, let me guess, you are the best out of the three." The mockery in her tone stings this time, and it takes Crosshair a lot of effort not to show it. "Well that’s promising—"
"Has anybody ever told you that you talk too much?" He interrupts, chewing aggressively on his toothpick. She offers him the fakest of contemptuous smiles. "I’ve seen you fight now, I’ve seen your technique. You’re not infallible." Another summersault, and a fancy twirl in the air, for good measure. A reminder. See, this is what you’re up against, before Ventress finally puts all of her focus on the clone, walking slowly towards him. If he wants a challenge, he’s going to get one. Crosshair matches her step for step, a sense of boldness rising within him.
It’s a big mistake, and very petty on his part to even consider a rematch. She took on the three of them without so much as breaking a sweat just a couple days ago. He still has the marks to prove it, a couple of bruises here and there adorning his back and torso, and a nasty hit to his ego that’s not itching to go away. If he is being honest, she is the first opponent in a long time who has actually managed to physically hurt him in a straight fight. And as much as he loathes it, he can’t help but respect that. But clone’s pride being what it is…
"What’s the matter? Scared that I might get the better of you this time?" Thinking back, this is not even what he came here to do this morning. Truth be told, he doesn’t even know what brought him here. It’s like something pulled him in.
"Don’t make me laugh," Ventress scoffs, "you’ve read my file, clones are no match for me." A bit of a low blow, she realises as the words escape her mouth, but Crosshair doesn’t react to the cheap comment.
Crosshair tosses his toothpick aside. "I’m not like other clones."
They are facing each other now, just a few inches apart. And Ventress cannot deny it, there’s a fire in his light brown eyes, a glint that flirts right between boldness and insolence. Well, it doesn’t change the fact that he will lose, Ventress muses, but it’s something she likes to see in an opponent. The satisfaction of putting them back in their place is all the greater for it.
"No. No you’re not." She concedes. The yellow blade of her lightsaber disappears with a snap-hiss, and she clips it back to her belt. "Well then." They don’t need more than those two simple words to acknowledge that the fight is on
They circle each other up, carefully matching the other’s footsteps, like animal and prey, although it’s not yet clear which is which. Crosshair realises only now that he’s not wearing his armour, simply his black overalls, leaving him alarmingly vulnerable to Ventress’ blows, which he now knows to be very powerful. But he is nothing if a not thorough soldier, and he has actually learned a thing or two from watching Ventress fight Hunter and Wrecker. She is small, very thin and light on her feet, although unfortunately, being quite lithe himself, it’s not something he can use against her. On the matter of raw strength, he may be a man, but her lifelong training makes up for the differential that this detail may entail. Timing and precision then, two things he has come to master as a sharpshooter. For the rest, whatever she does, he will have to do it better.
Once more, he notices Ventress waits for him to make the first move. Crosshair gives in, but it’s the last time he promises himself. He throws a couple of punches her way, carefully keeping his guard up. This is more about testing the terrain and seeing how she reacts. They keep this up for a minute before the clone really starts going at her, with more speed and strength this time. Ventress parries some of his jabs, the rest she simply avoids with quick movements of her upper body. She is that good, and it’s already starting to irritate him. Mentally slapping himself to keep his head in the game, he continues his assault.
Left, right jab, he bounces on his feet to follow her movements but she circles around and docks all his blows effortlessly, her guard is not even up anymore, she is just moving her body around with inhuman speed and reflexes now. Ventress blocks one of his blows with her forearm, and counters in his stomach. It hurts, she has hit him there before, during their last fight, but somehow he manages to grab her arm and spin her around.
"Cute display," a smirk tugs at the corners of her lips, her tone laced with amusement, "but this is not a dance."
Crosshair barely has the time to register the mockery before he finds himself losing the upper hand. Indeed, if Ventress was difficult to get a grab on, she is even more difficult to hold onto. Sticking her own arm firmly behind her back, she pulls Crosshair against her with the motion, and uses their body weights against him to roll forward and extricate herself. So far, it is a perfect copy of their first fight, and Crosshair is no closer to finding a blind spot in her technique.
Ventress can see the gears spinning in his head, and picks this very moment to press her own attack, releasing a flurry of strikes down upon him with alluring speed. Despite his best efforts to parry and counter, Crosshair immediately finds himself stuck on the defensive, struggling to keep pace with the successive assaults. Ventress is absolutely ruthless, seizes every single opening, exploiting the slightest lapse in Crosshair's defenses. Her strikes find their mark almost every time with unerring accuracy. She is not only swift in her movements, but also quick at guessing what his next move will be. More often than not, Crosshair gets the unpleasant feeling that she’s working her little force-sensitive mind tricks on him; or maybe he is just trying to console himself.
With each blow, she pushes him further back until he’s cornered against a rock. He faints an error in his footing, and surprisingly, Ventress takes the bait rather easily— eager to end the fight as quickly as possible, no doubt. This is a one-time opportunity, he realises that, and so he gets to work. He dodges the first punch, the second, and feels the air sweep along the side of his face as the fist flies by, a little too close for comfort. Her left flank is open, if he can land a well-placed punch there and knock the wind out of her… But suddenly he feels it, the tremor strikes him like a thousand needles. His right hand flinches in midair, his fist loosens as he struggles to hold it up.
It all goes very fast then, Ventress shoves him hard and away from her, and throws two nasty kicks to his lower abdomen before sending him reeling to the ground, on his knees, his arm twisted behind his back.
"Yield." Her voice is calm as she issues the order, her breathing even despite the effort. Crosshair is a different story.
"No," he grunts in pain, but it’s not just physical. He hates that this part of him is slowing him down, it makes him a liability, and it could cost him in the future. It could cost her brother’s lives… Omega’s. "No," he says again with resolve, which Ventress only interprets as foolish pride.
"Have it your way." She sighs before releasing him. As he barely manages to roll away, he is suddenly gripped by an invisible force that lifts him off the ground. He grips uselessly at his throat, trying to grab at something that is not really there, his feet kicking the air in vain. It is such an odd sensation, like fighting all the elements at once. He feels utterly powerless, and he despises it. No, he will not let himself be strangled into unconsciousness, not a chance.
"Okay—," he gasps, "you win."
Crosshair hits the ground with a thud, his hand rubbing his neck.
"You cheated," he says reproachfully.
"You were being unreasonable," Ventress counters, matching his tone. "You were willing to let me break your arm, over what, pride?"
"It’s not—"
"There’s no shame in defeat."
"Easy to say when you find yourself on the winning end." Crosshair grumbles, attempting to stand up.
"A point." She offers him her hand, which he accepts after a slight hesitation. "Damage?" Crosshair got to his feet with difficulty, holding onto his left flank and shaking his head no.
"You clones are terrible liars." She says matter of factly rather than reproachfully as she looks him over, extending her hand to the one at his midsection. "Let me have a look."
"I’m good." The clone visibly flinches as if he’d been burnt.
"Seriously?" It seemed that Crosshair was more angry than embarrassed after careful consideration. Cute. Ventress tried to keep her smile to herself, unsuccessfully.
"You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?"
"Seeing grown men utterly incapable of accepting defeat? Always." Her grin had only grown wider.
"That’s— I’m not— forget it." As his eyes come to focus on nothing on the ground, Ventress looks at him, really looks at him. He is truly upset, but it is longer clear if it is about the defeat or something else, perhaps something more personal. She herself wasn’t particularly adamant to show her battle scars, or any scars for that matter. Some wore them proudly, for others, it was a testament of their weakness, forever carved in the skin. Crosshair looked like the kind of man who had seen a lot; done a lot. And suffered a lot. Most clones had, she knew, many because of her part in the Separatist war.
"Let me see you home at least." She half offers and asks. Years ago, she wouldn’t have lingered or even looked back twice to help an injured enemy. But that was before. She likes to think that she is a different person now, hopefully a better one too. It doesn’t erase all the bad at all, but it is a start. And besides, this clone is truly intriguing, and hardly an enemy.
Crosshair eyes her suspiciously, looking for any sign of malice or ill intent. He sees none, and nods silently before making his way up the bay, Ventress on his heels, occasionally holding a hand near his lower back as they make their way up, just in case. He doesn’t shy away from the touch this time, which Ventress assumes is because he simply hasn’t noticed. And if he has, well, that’s a start.
That's it for now, folks! Part 2 will be coming shortly with some much needed, um, comfort...

Our Own Choices
Chapter 4
Separatist attack! After the destruction of the outpost on the Rishi moon, General Grievous and Asajj Ventress plan an attack on the planet Kamino, home of the cloning factories. Meanwhile, aboard a Jedi cruiser, Jedi knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi examine an intercepted message from General Grievous.
Rex comes into the barracks soon enough, and I'm showing Fives and Echo this new song on the holonet called "Toxic" from Boywithuke when Rex walks in. My helmet's sitting at the side, I trust Fives and Echo enough to not reveal my secret to the Kaminoans.
When Rex walks in, Fives and Echo stand at attention and I'm just leaning against the wall behind them.
"I'm guessing you have something to tell us?" I ask Rex.
"Mhm. Separatists are planning an attack on Kamino. We're going home."
And then Rex walks out of the room.
"Kamino?! This just got personal," Fives says, Echo agrees with him.
"I'm guessing I'm gonna be the only one out of you three looking at the bigger picture and not just personally," I roll my eyes. "As much as I hate that place, if it's destroyed, the production of more clones will be stopped, and we will definitely lose the war and all of us will die."
"Hey, you're not the only one looking at the bigger picture," Fives nudges me in the side.
Soon enough, we head out of the jedi cruiser with the other troopers, as usual I'm walking behind the rest, my helmet on.
So we take a stroll through Kamino, a place that I never wanted to go back to.
"Ah, look around Fives. Feels like yesterday we were here," Echo says as a group of younger clones pass us. "Heading to target practice."
"Heh, remember that?"
"Do I ever."
"Feels like yesterday I was here, heading to cleaning duty," I mutter under my breath.
And then in front of us I see 99, struggling with carrying a few guns, dropping a few on the floor. I run over and help him pick some up, he doesn't recognize me with the helmet on.
"Hey, 99!" Echo calls out.
Well, 99 can recognize them, but not me.
"Heh, you actually remembered us," Fives sounds slightly impressed.
"Oh, I remember all my brothers. Is Hevy here? Where's he?"
I don't even think he remembers me.
"Hevy's dead. Sacrificed himself on the Rishi outpost," I explain for Echo and Fives. I can talk about his death so casually now, I get over these kinds of things quite quickly.
"He saved our lives, but he gave up his own," Echo continues.
"Oh, uh, I see," 99 says, showing Echo and Fives some random medal thing that they probably got in the past.
"Hevy...gave you his medal?" Fives asks.
99 closes his eyes for a moment, before asking,"So, why have you returned to Kamino?"
"Wasn't my choice," I tell him. My helmet's still on, I can't take it off with all the Kaminoans and other troopers here.
"The Generals received word of an impending attack here," Fives explains.
"Well, how can I help?"
Fives and Echo give each other a look before nodding at each other, and they tell 99 the plan.
"So uh, 99, do you remember...me?" I ask.
"Not with your helmet on," 99 replies. "Why not you take it off? We're safe for now."
"Not safe for me. I have no interest in going back to cleaning duty."
"It's you...you're that female clone, aren't you? So...you're a soldier now?"
I nod. "Keep your voice down, we don't want others to hear that."
"Oh right, sorry," 99 whispers. "So are you gonna join those...yknow...group of different clones?"
"You mean the ipad kid, the one with dog shit for hair, the buff af one, and the old man?"
Fives and Echo hold in their laughter, but I can see it on their faces.
99 chuckles, "Yea, you ever thought about maybe joining them?"
I think for a moment, and as I'm about to reply, the lighting turns red, signaling an attack. I see other troopers running to the front, and Fives and Echo are called in by the commander, and I follow them.
We reach the dude that sent for Fives and Echo.
"Sir, you sent for us?"
"It's a dangerous assignment, but I want you two up on the bridge in sniper positions."
"Yes sir, we're on it."
And then as Fives and Echo head up to the bridge, the dude stops me before I can run off with them.
"Aren't you a bit young to be fighting?" he asks. "Get in there with the others."
"With all due respect sir, I can handle myself," I say. "Besides, someone's gotta cover Fives and Echo." Without waiting for a response, I run off to the bridge.
I can hear the blaster fire already starting, I don't look back, I just keep running.
I reach Fives and Echo, where they're dealing with some of the droids already. I narrowly miss a blaster bolt to the face, and take cover next to them.
"There's gotta be a better defensive position than this, this place is shitty to snipe from," I say as I start shooting at the droids down below.
I see 99 coming up behind us. "I...I brought you some ammo," he says, dropping the bag on his shoulder.
"Is there a better spot than this, a better defensive position we can take?" Fives asks.
"Droids! Behind us!" Echo shouts, and Fives pushes 99 to the ground to let him take cover.
I notice that there are grenades in the bag that 99 was carrying, which is now lying on the ground, so I take one of them from the bag and throw it at the droids.
The grenade explodes on contact, knocking all the droids down.
"There's more," 99 says, pointing at where the smoke is clearing.
Echo, Fives and I point our blasters at that area, until I see some kids walking out. They look like 12 year olds, 2 years younger than me.
"Cadets, what're you doing here?" Echo asks.
"We got separated from our group," one of the kids says.
"Where were they taking you?"
"The barracks."
"Oh, I know the best way there," 99 says, and we all follow him as he half-runs to the barracks.
We reach the barracks and the kids sit down on the beds.
"What are we gonna do?" one of them asks.
Fives and Echo look down at the floor.
"A separatist victory means...death...for all of us," 99 says.
"Oh hell nah I have no interest in dying today," I lean against a wall.
"The cadet is right. What are we gonna do?" 99 asks.
"We fight."
I look to the side, and see commander Cody and Rex taking off their helmets.
"Ayyy Rex, what took you so long?" I ask when I see him. Rex rolls his eyes.
The cadets stand up. "But our training's not finished."
Fives steps forward. "Look around. We're one and the same. Same heart, same blood. Your training is in your blood. And my blood's boiling for a fight."
"That's one of the most useful things you've said today," I nudge Fives in the side.
"This is our home. This is our war," Echo says.
"What about weapons?" one of the cadets asks.
"The armory," 99 suggests. "It's just a few corridors away, here in the barracks. I can retrieve all the firepower we need. So who wants to blast some droids?"
Rex, Cody, Fives, Echo and I give a downwards nod of respect to 99 and Rex, Cody and I head to the armory with 99.
"Here it is, everything we need is here," 99 says, he's panting a bit.
Rex and Cody get some weapons and I get a few pistols, a few grenades, and just stuff them on my belt, running out of the room and passing a few to the cadets.
"What about you?" one of them asks as I hand them my second last pistol.
"I only need 1 pistol."
I hear one of the droids shooting at the door to the barracks, and as the door opens, we start shooting at them through the door. As the droids advance, we back up, finding whatever cover we can get behind boxes or the beds.
I hear some blaster bolts whizz past my shoulder, and I take cover with Fives and Echo, shooting at the droids. As they advance, we continue backing up, taking some more cover behind the boxes. Rex throws a grenade at the droids, which misses, and I can feel the force of the explosion from here.
"Cadets, now!" Rex shouts into the comlink and the cadets start shooting at the droids from the high ground where they were initially hidden from view. They manage to knock down quite a few droids, making it much easier.
Cody throws another grenade at the droids, and as the smoke clears, more droids start coming in.
I hear 99 get shot, and he's tryna make his way to the armory. I run towards the droids, strafing so that I avoid blaster fire, and I try to slice up the droids as fast as I can with my sword, and when Fives and Echo help me shoot down the last one, I look back and I see 99's body on the floor. It feels like someone tightened their grip on my stomach, and I run to 99, kneeling beside him as Echo holds him in his arms.
"We..." Cody sighs. "Lost a true soldier."
"He really was one of us."
I bite my lip under my helmet, I can feel the tears coming but I don't let them flow, so I just walk away and sit on one of the beds, looking away, softly singing under my helmet to distract myself from 99's body. ("Toxic" from Boywithuke my new fav song lmao)
Later, all of us start walking out to the outdoor platform, the battle has ended. I'm leaning against a wall, watching Echo and Fives do their thing. I still have the grenades clipped to my belt, I'm throwing my knife up in the air and catching it, just like I always do.
I see Rex motioning for me to come over with Echo and Fives, and we all stand at attention (I'm just following what Echo and Fives are doing, just because I have no idea what I'm supposed to do)
"You all really stepped up in the heat of battle," Cody says.
"We did what we had to do, sir," Echo says.
"What any clone would've done," Fives continues.
"All of you showed valor out there. Real courage. Reminds me of me, actually," Rex says.
"Don't flatter yourself, we all already know," I smirk under my helmet, Rex chuckles a bit, looking at me.
"Echo, Fives, Aris, you're officially being made ARC troopers," Cody says. Echo looks at Fives, and we're all kind of a bit in shock.
"I don't think the Separatists will be coming back anytime soon," Rex says. "But if they do, Kamino will be lucky to have clones like you defending it. Good job, men."
Rex and Cody salute and Fives and Echo does the same, so I just follow them.
As I walk away with Rex, he pats me on the back. "Good job ad'ika."
"Rex, I don't wanna be an ARC trooper," I say quietly.
"Why not?" Rex looks confused.
"Too many expectations. I'm not like Fives or Echo. I'm just a kid. And besides, I don't deserve this, 99 does."
"Kid, 99's-"
"Dead, yea I know, and I've accepted that, just don't make me an ARC trooper, okay?"
Rex sighs. "Okay, ad'ika."
I nod at him. "Thanks dad."
Rex chuckles a bit.
"Okay fine, you can call me that."

workndeadline you say?
i say 11 & 14 for the ask game!
BOLI! Thank you, mine boss! I assure you I was actually working on this answer when I should have been working on my deadline, but this day went wide on me in weird ways. And please feel free to send some Ask Game my way if anyone else is interested.
That said:
11: Weirdest thing you’ve ever written/thought about writing/etc.?
Well, I do have some sex stuff. In fact, only just today I typed the upsetting words: "Dooku gonna break that seer in half (respectfully)" while chatting to my gal about this upcoming chapter of 12 months that I'll be posting … hopefully in the next week or so. (And then disappearing from this website forever into the deep woods, never to be seen again because of lingering religious guilt about writing sex.) But that isn't really that weird for Tumblr/Ao3 writing circles.
I think my weirdest writing project right now is The Thunder Answered Back. I slap a timer to give a defeated RotS-era Dooku like 10 minutes to grab up anything he wants to save at the Temple during Order 66, except the catch is that he has no hands. And then, it gets stranger.
It's an Escape the Empire salvage job, not a fix-it. It's part Jocasta/Dooku, but she might kill him, part Jedi family, but they might kill him, I'm wrangling a huge ensemble of obscure Jedi Legends characters and trying to save them all, there are younglings (I can't write kids!), Asajj is in the mix (she also wants to murder Dooku), Obi-Wan, Yoda, and even I don't know what's going on with Sifo-Dyas's ghost -- is he real? is he a figment of Dooku's imagination? is he part OF Dooku? and that's going to be a lot weirder when he takes over the plot and maybe tries to get them to all go save his Clones… ugh.
It's going to be really fun, and I'm behind on the chapter 4 update but actively working on it. Right now I have Winter Depression (tm) and my brain genuinely doesn't work well because of it, so I'm choosing stories that are more comfort food. But I'll be back after it soon!
14 Your favorite side pairings to put in?
Does Dooku/Makashi count, because… I think that's a side pairing in all of my Dooku fics. He loves his friends, I love tangling him up into various pairings with them, but at the end of the day, he really, really loves that lightsaber form. Probably because it's really Dooku/Dooku.
Another few pairings… I do love Quinobi, oldie but a goodie is Qui/Tahl, and I might do something with Sifo-Dyas/Arath soon. I kind of like the whole alternate subtext reading of Dooku: Jedi Lost that Arath is such a bully to Dooku early on because Dooku is inseparable with his crush, the cutest boy in the Hawkbat clan. *making finger guns and winking at Sifo-Dyas*

I don't think Obi-Wan would ever have become a Sith. Literally, one of the biggest points about him as a character is that despite all the bullshit and absolute insanity he goes through, he never gives in to the Dark Side.
BUT--
A part of me can't help but wonder what would have happened if Obi-Wan--for whatever absolutely character breaking reason--took Dooku up on his offer and joined the Sith/Separatist, how differently things would have gone down in the Clone Wars.
Because from where I'm standing, we all already know that Obi-Wan's biggest things is never half-assing literally anything he does. He always puts himself into any task he's given. He's just incapable of not seeing things to their absolute finish and then some.
I've read a few Sith!Obi-Wan AU fics and fan comics with this exact premise and I do find it fascinating how people have gone about exploring this sort of concept. There are, of course, quite a number of powerhouse Sith!Obi-Wan AUs where he just straight decimates the GAR and the Republic (usually with the intent of killing Darth Sidious in the end). But I'm also fascinated by the handful of stories I've seen where Obi-Wan doesn't necessarily become an actual Sith, but joins Dooku (whether as a voluntary double agent or due to time-travel shenanigans) in order to 1) Find out who the true Sith Lord is and take them down and/or 2) To attempt stymieing the overall devastation the war has on the entire galaxy.
So as OOC as Sith!Obi-Wan feels to me, I can't help but share the fascination that others do with the endless "What ifs?" scenarios that can spring to mind with an AU like this.
Especially, when you start thinking about the potential ways Darth Sidious would react to having a hypercompetent Force User and experienced military general "on his side."
Yeah, Sheev was hyperfocused on Anakin for reasons. But I can't help but sorta vibe with some of Sith!Obi-Wan AUs I've seen where Mister Sidious either 1) Realizes what an actual threat Obi-Wan is to his ultimate goal of becoming Emperor of the entire galaxy, and tries to get Dooku to get rid of him as result (similar to what he ordered Dooku to do with Asajj) or 2) Realizes that while Anakin is an absolute powerhouse in the force, Obi-Wan is sort of next level due to not having the copious, never ending layers of unstable emotional drama that Anakin is.
(Of course, being emotionally unstable is sort of the prime requirement for any powerful Dark Sider, but I raise you this--the amount of traumatic bullshit Obi-Wan has gone through is just about as insane, if not a little more, than Anakin. It would just take someone immorally depraved enough, like Mister Sidious, to really torture and drag all that trauma out of Obi-Wan to the point that he'd use said trauma to fuel his Sith abilities. Again, I don't think Obi-Wan would ever give in to the Dark Side even if Sheev was his main tormentor, but we're playing around in the Sith!Obi-Wan AU right now. After all, "The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural").
I do feel obligated to sort of mention that sheer amount of angst that naturally comes with this sort of AU, but I don't feel the actual need to go super in depth with it. Just because, well, Obi-Wan in his natural canon state is already a bottomless well of angst and sadness pfffttt
Making him a Sith doesn't really change much in that regard for me, other than for other artists and fic writers to explore the darker elements of SW. Mainly, the horrific and outright torture that comes with being trained as a Sith and, you know, the atrocities of a galaxy wide war (just typically in more graphic detail and from a far more bleak perspective).
Tldr: I don't have an issue with Sith!Obi-Wan despite how horribly OOC it feels to me. I am absolutely and utterly impressed with the writers and artists who have fleshed out this AU in the detail and depths that they have. Y'all are so much stronger than me and I am grateful to everyone who was able to answer some of the questions bouncing around in my head through their art.
*fic recs underneath*
Yeah, I went on a Sith!Obi-Wan/Separatist AU spree a while back just out of curiousity and these are what I personally consider to be some of best (or at the very least, the ones I enjoyed most). Keep in mind, these fics range everywhere from Gen to Explicit/Mature and some do pertain to particular ships. That being said, I find the way these authors go about tackling Dark Sider/Sith/Separatist Obi-Wan to be pretty compelling. So approach these fics with all of that in mind, but do give extra kudos and comments to these writers. They did all the heavy lifting here, and they deserve all the attention and praise they're owed. So in no particular order, here are the fics I'd recommend for this particular AU:
Rank, Designation, Unit Name by soft_but_gremlin
You Shall Become (Me) by jedipati
Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ambassador of Mandalore series by alexjana91
I Got My Head Checked by frostbitebakery
What came after by galateaGalvanized
Name of the Game by esama
Certain Point by esama
Cuy'kaysh Dar by mneiai
Feel free to add your own personal recommendations in the tags, if you'd like. I know there's so much more of this AU out there, but I am in no way an expert. So I leave the additional fic recs in your hands.
#sith obi wan#obi wan kenobi#separatist obi wan#fic rec#star wars meta#i suppose this could count as a mini meta post#i'll get rid of the tag if people think otherwise though#obi wan meta

A few months ago I woke up (I wasn't sleeping) in cold sweat at night from a story idea and grabbed a paper I found and wrote on it the OC name that came to me in a vision but only now I started thinking about her more and finally fucking designed her so here's my Jedi Master OC and her three Padawans (and everything I have to say about them) if you want to see them
(mouth on the first one came out weird, ignore that) Bliz Karse she/her (Karse pronounced Kuh-rs, not sure about Bliz yet) -Ky Narec's best friend! her main story point lmao. They were partners most of their life, from the crèche to knighthood up until Ky ended up on Rattatak. -Theelin -Qui-Gon's and Ky's age - born circa 80 BBY -Lives up to TCW, probably dies in Order 66 (haven't gotten there yet) -Ky and her are really close friends and like half the temple's padawans gossip about them dating. They aren't together. -Her master is Burryaga from The High Republic! Was thinking about a Master for her and he just fit idk -She's short -Ky and her go around the galaxy as Jedi explorers. They're both aspiring Wayseekers, striving to be independent from the council and help wherever they can (this gets serious for Bliz after Ky crashed on Rattatak) -She takes her padawans everywhere so a lot of times people think they're Ky and hers' children -um idk I think she's aroace?
Padawan I - Sevo Zash They/them -Mirialan (purple!) -I drew them as a Padawan but they're like, older than Obi-Wan. -Bliz took them on not long after her knighting -They love Ky -I need to develop them more (gave them a name like an hour ago and came up with the design this afternoon, I don't know them yet) -Survives Order 66 but is killed by an inquisitor not long after
Padawan II - Nyyra Xor She/her -Falleen (green, naturally) -NOT AURRA but love me some almost bald characters with a pnytail at the top of their head and no eyebrows -I should make a timeline for Bliz but she's like, in her late 20s/early 30s by the Clone Wars -She thinks Ky is annoying but was still Bliz's Padawan when he crushed on Rattatak (that adds up, right?) so she came to miss him after a while -a big fan of annoying the fuck out of Bliz. She also doesn't like traveling as much as the others so she ended up with the worst possible master in that regard -Sevo sees her as their little sister, I feel like all 3 Padawans are kinda siblings in that way -Oldest sibling energy, doomed to be a middle child -Wants to be on the council. Dies in Order 66.
Padawan III - Arck Kyvett she/him -Tholothian (no idea how to draw their head-tendrils but I think I did a decent job) -DIES (killed by Asajj) - her main story point is dying. That's where I started, with Asajj being sent to kill Ky's childhood friend's padawan by Dooku and then Bliz came to me -Bliz took him on 2-3 years before the Clone Wars, and he died very quickly (Asajj's first Jedi kill, maybe even before the Clone Wars started) -I wanted to give all of them some sort of Padawan braid, so Arck gets beads on one of his tendrils, I think that can work -Youngest sibling energy, if she didn't die she'd also become the favorite child (Nyyra and Sevo love her dw) -The Ky in her name is the first thing Asajj hears when Bliz refers to her. Wanted to call her Ky originally but felt this would do instead
Woooo building OC lore is fun I should do it more Talked a lot about Ky but never drew him once in my life. Let's ignore that.
#you can ask me questions about them if you're interested#idk#this is for myself but also.#posting bc i want to share them with people#sw#star wars#yael's ocs#their tag now#star wars ocs#jedi oc#bliz karse#sevo zash#nyyra xor#arck kyvett#ky narec#techincally#padawan oc#karse lineage#original character#original characters#my ocs#ocs#oc#my art#drawing#traditional art#star wars art

dooku: jedi lost: part 3: liveblog part 1
ok. time for part 3!
god the snark is 10/10. a credit to her lineage.
side note the courage of star wars authors to describe weird gross slime aliens is beyond me.
IF I'M UNDERSTANDING THE SERIES OF EVENTS CORRECTLY YES KY. YES YOU DID FAIL HER. (you can just???? adopt a kid and take her into danger constantly without even notifying next of kin in case something happens to you????)
SERIOUSLY. WHAT HAPPENED KY. WHY. (especially since he keeps insisting that dooku is lying about the jedi abandoning him. which means, if this is really ky, that he abandoned the jedi. that he's the sole decision maker responsible for depriving asajj of a support system.) either way, 10/10 for asajj immediately picking up on making fun of yoda. she's gonna meet him for the first time and be like "do i need to uproot a tree for you??"
the icon we don't deserve honestly.
OLD FRIEND?????? YOU'RE SEVENTEEN SIFO.
(although i suppose when i was seventeen i also felt quite ancient. but i wasn't going around calling people "old friend" lmao. then again i didn't have any friends quite like dooku.)
ALSO 17 YO DOOKU HAS A DISTINGUISHED REGAL BEARD
y'all i love sifo the seer but. i was enjoying their stupid childhood shenanigans WITHOUT visions! let them run around breaking into library vaults ugh. and they were being so cute before!!!! sifo brought back a cute souvenir from his mission for doo!!!! and then he BROKE IT BECAUSE VISION??? I RESENT THE ANGST!!!!
if i were dooku here i would probably once again draw my saber on lene and be like SINCE HE LEARNED TO OPEN HIS MIND??? WHAT DID YOU DRUG HIM WITH
(seriously i feel like i see a lot more love for lene in fandom than i'm feeling for her here. maybe she'll grow on me by the end of the book? but right now it really feels like she's just dragging two bright eyed boys into stupid dark side shenanigans without real care for the consequences. or maybe i'm just crying because hindsight is 20/20 and DOOKSY DESERVED BETTER 2KFOREVA.)
now that i've judged lene's take on sifo's visions, it's time to judge yoda for his.
a WARNING would not go amiss sir??? like this isn't "my vision said to commission a bunch of clones" or "my vision said to murder this guy" or something like that. this is just "hey what if we warn them of a potential natural disaster so they can prepare". what's misleading there??? no you don't want to create unjustified panic but making sure emergency systems are in place is always good especially if you have any reason to believe they may be necessary. this is like straight up due diligence??
i am kind of fascinated by this bit. i have somewhat mixed feelings about it, tbh; not sure that i'm a fan of the "he's always been obsessed with fire and damnation" take on dooku. i mean it doesn't not work, such a serious kid probably would have a relatively detached and academic take on armageddon, but... idk. reveling feels a step too far?
anyways, the other side of the mixed feelings is that i really love that end bit. "i knew the universe would endure, and if it didn't, it wouldn't be because of gods or powers beyond our understanding" is such a banger line. i'm just not sure it feels like a line that belongs /here/ exactly yk??
DOO DOVE IN TO RESCUE SI!! SI INJURED HIMSELF IN A SEA OF BACTA!!! i'm not happy he's hurt it's just these boys are so fucking precious. and stupid. doo doo doo dum dums
THE OLD FASHIONED WAY IS JUMPING OUT A WINDOW. DOOKU IS A CHAOS GREMLIN. don't let him trick you into believing otherwise. he'll act like he's the most sensible one of the disaster lineage while he's the one who became a sith and is leading a separatist movement.

Summary: Ventress is the biggest flirt in the galaxy (sorry Obi-wan)
Asajj Ventress x CorruptFem!jediR
Word count: 1.3k
"Turn left at the next junction-" Plo Koon instructs me over coms, "-and take a steep incline to the landing pad above, through the canopy layers of-"
"I've got it, master," I insist, navigating the busy underworld of Coruscant with ease. Just as he was about to explain in great detail, the only real access to the landing pad was through a thin passage which was neatly sandwiched between two shop-front roofs.
"Be careful, young one. The underworld is dangerous, even for a Jedi," he warns me. Despite now not being his padawan anymore, he still sometimes thinks that I am, "and remember: this is only a scouting mission."
"Yes, master Plo," I respond, biting my tongue of any of my usual sarcastic remarks because I know he only means well.
"Very well. May the force be with you," and after a moment, the faint crackle of the active comlink goes silent. I had been tasked with investigating a lead which the Senate had uncovered while discussing Separatist dealings right here on Coruscant.
Taking the route of the steep ascent to the landing pad, I can feel my speeder bike struggling to keep up with itself as it's strains under the torment of my manic driving. Twist after turn - and jump after jump - the two shop fronts come into view. Breathing deeply, I know this is a one chance opportunity, "Come on, you can do this."
I'm not sure whether I'm talking to the bike or myself.
Taking a slight left to avoid an awkwardly placed transmission terminal, I accelerate over a small jump between two buildings. The entrance is rapidly closing in, yet my speed can't decrease until I'm over the final jump - which lies only metres before the opening.
Flooring it, the bike's screams bounce sharply off the narrowing walls either side of us. The underworld is far deeper than it appears.
Two shop fronts. There and gone in an instant, the jump sends me over the top of a vast, bottomless ventilation chasm. Immediately, I kill the right thruster and lean my full body weight over to the side.
'Clang!' an exhaust vent is sheared off the side of my bike in an array luminous sparks. Not my cleanest of turns. As the suffocating tunnel behind the shops begins to fill with more light, I put the engines so low the faint whir of the repulser fan becomes all but silent.
"Tell Dooku: his deal is off," a male voice exclaims, indignant in tone, "this isn't what I signed up for-"
"You represent a Separatist planet, don't you, Lord Pli?" a second voice responds. This one is female, dripping with a sultry simmer of distain; it's familiar.
I assume that the man nods, because she continues, "Then I don't think it's in the best interest of your people to defy me. I also can't imagine the Republic Senate would allow you to return in open arms, do you, hm?"
"No, but-"
"-Agree to the deal, and I reassure you that our relationship will be..." somehow, her voice goes from a demandingly demeaning sneer, to a slow murmur of lust in a matter of seconds. She is almost impossible to hear, "mutually beneficial."
I can sense the man's increasingly desperate anxiety. His breathing quickens, "But the moons of my world: they have people-"
"-Who will be fairly compensated, I assure you," she interrupts again, yet she makes it so it doesn't feel rude or intrusive; merely a minor interjection.
I haven't yet peered around the corner, but I daren't consider stopping these blatant admitions.
"...Alright," he mutters. To sense him is like trying to search blindfolded for a secondary coupling latch in a Gundark nest: the surrounding Force is so potently asphyxiating that I can barely feel anything else.
"The Count's forces will move in by your day break, and our operations will be functioning in two rotations."
A few minutes later, a shuttle's engines fires up and the landing gears disengage. All falls silent once again moments after 'Lord Pli's' exit.
But the suffocating presence still remains.
"Hmm..." her snarky, teasing tone cuts through the dense silence, "I didn't expect to meet a Jedi today."
My body tenses: how long had she known my position?
"Come out, darling," she sings, a firm smirk in her voice, "I don't bite."
Grasping the cool metal hilt of my saber, I round the corner with it raised and ignited. In front of me - stood hand on hip in the middle of the landing zone - is a tall, slender woman with deathly pale skin and bare scalp. In the blue hue of my weapon, she appears to shimmer, as if not fully there. Form-fitted in strips of dark cloth, it appears every angle of her body and face is jagged and sharp.
"Why don't you put that silly thing away, hm?" she requests with a sharply raised eyebrow, "You don't see me waving mine about, and there really is no need, dear."
"You're a Sith," I seethe, the Force around us beginning to cloud the clarity and calm I usually have, "I can't let you escape."
"You propose a duel... with me?" she teases, feigning surprise, "Oh, darling, I thought Jedi were meant to be intelligent."
I swallow thickly, taking a deep breath to compose myself and feel the Force flow and connect through and all around my body. It brings me a quiet confidence, "Or perhaps you're scared you'll lose."
"I can feel you... your centre is off balance; your peace is fractured," she explains slowly, taking two testing steps towards me, letting her hips sway with her words, "Your anger, your fear, your love and attachment are fighting to get out: you can't deny what is already within forever."
"I am nothing like you!" I retort, clenching my jaw and flexing my fingers around the cool metal hilt of my sabre.
"Not now, perhaps," she smirks, taking a few more steps closer, "but I can feel your turmoil; I can sense the conflict when you meet someone... like me."
"Like you...?" I question with hesitancy.
She takes a few more steps, the frayed edges of her minimal robes shifting slightly with each minuscule movement, "So free... so alive."
"I am free," I say indignantly, keeping my eyes blazing into her's, "and I am most definitely alive."
"You might be an almighty Jedi," she takes the last step, ignoring my still ignited sabre and tracing the intricate details of my robe's lapel. Her sultry fascination begins to move from my robe to the blemish-less ingot pendant hanging around my neck, "but even you can't deny... needs."
This shocks me into a sort of daze. For the first time in a long while I feel myself more than I feel Force.
And she knows it. "Let the anger out... the fear of yourself... of me," she taunts, the cool puff of her breath seeping into my skin, "let it-"
"-I don't fear you!" I lean back and raise my sabre. Within an instant, her dual blades meet mine. The hot white blaze of their connection stings my eyes and makes her pale skin shine.
"Don't you, my dear?" she seems utterly unfazed by my sudden assault.
"No...!" I strain, allowing the Force to flow through me more powerfully than ever before.
Her eyes glow, narrowing to a menacing glower, "Yes! Let the anger flow, let it control you!"
"You won't beat me!"
"I don't need to..." I push her away, the distinct clashing of our blades ringing out across the landing zone. We end up in another standstill, "...because you know I'm correct, darling."
I drop my arm and force her back - but in my moment of lacking concentration - she sends my sabre skittering across the tarmac. I stumble back onto one knee, as she raises her blades to cross at my throat.
"Let yourself live! I can help you be free!" she smirks, "I can help you!"
"You would only control me..." I look up at her, watching how her lips twitch slightly.
"Hm, perhaps," that intricately laced tone of lust returns in an instant, "but you'd like that, wouldn't you, dear?"

Thoughts on S3 Ep09!
Went to Universal last week on Wednesday so I missed watching it this week, couldn't watch it until today and oh my god,,,
Ignorance really is bliss <3
It's slowly getting harder and harder to bring myself to watch the new episodes ahaha
Anyways, spoilers and my incoherent screaming under the cut!!!
So I was like a puddle on the floor the entire episode
Ventress spoke and I melted,,
I love her so much I'm so glad she's back and I hope she comes back PRETTY PLEASE
SO M COUNT WAS MIDICHLORIANS!!! I mean,, that much was obvious but we're one step closer to having answers!
Wrecker and Crosshair helping out the Pabu civilians :(
Also noticed how fucking,, big Wrecker looks compared to Crosshair,, aahhhhhaaaaa big,, big man, big guy,,
Crosshair being like, "We aren't going to hand her over" AAAAA he really is worse than Hunter,, fucking love him
Ventress just,, being able to find them so easily and get onto Pabu without anyone noticing makes me,, so nervous,, oh my god
WRECKER FOLDING HIS ARMS ACROSS HIS CHEST AFTER SEEING HUNTER AND CROSSHAIR HOLDING THE SAME POSE?!?!
WRECKER STEPPING UP AND PUTTING HIS HANDS ON OMEGA'S SHOULDERS WHEN VENTRESS MENTIONS FORCE WEILDING?!?
Wrecker just,, fucking doing ANYTHING?? I love him
Ventress is actually really tall-
tall,, tall woman
AND HER GAY ASS HAIRCUT OH MY GOD
"Clearly none of you are normal" LMAOOO
I was like,, "hey why don't they recognize her?? they were fighting in the same war???" and then Crosshair was like "I went through Tech's files" or whatever and :(((
Tech mention :((( I miss him more and more everyday
CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT FIGHT SCENE?!?!?!
HOLY SHIT!!!!!
want that fight scene injected into my blood
SHE SLAPPED WRECKER?!?!
she kicked their asses oh my god
fuck I loved that
Meanwhile Omega's on a scavenger hunt
I felt like I was watching Karate Kid
Omega not knowing who/what she is :(( and wanting to figure it out and have answers :( MAN.
WRECKER CHEERING ON OMEGA WHILE SHE WAS TRAINING!! it was so sweet but also hilarious because it made me think of how Chopper and Zeb would MAKE FUN of Ezra while he was training (I love my space families)
Omega trying to convince them to trust Asajj,, fucking,, "I never gave up on you, didn't I?" SHUT THE FUCK UP :(((((
With every episode I love Crosshair more and more and it's fucking DAMNING as all hell because I will not be able to handle anything remotely bad happening to him at this point
fuckin,, something,,, about,,, Hunter,, on his back,,, legs spread with the,, lightsaber in his face,,, fuck,, fuck fuck
I'M TELLING YOU MAN I WAS A PUDDLE ON THE FLOOR THE ENTIRE EPISODE
WE MAYBE DIDN'T GET WET HAIR HUNTER BUT WE GOT WET HAIR ASAJJ AND I THINK THAT'S OBJECTIVELY BETTER!!!
Omega is just collecting like,, mentors/parents like Ezra,, I fucking love it,, she comes across adults who are like,, "fuck it. I'm adopting this kid" and Hunter's like "NO!"
Omega is just a teenager I love her so much - "Ventress is bad." - "Okay, but-"
WHY IS THERE ALWAYS A BIG MONSTER?!?!?!
RAAAAAAAH SO SHE IS FORCE SENSITIVE?!
look,, I feel like,, that training wasn't nearly enough to determine the right levels and honestly I'm still confused
ASAJJ YOU BETTER COME BACK
I was like begging for her to stay because I know shit is going to go down on Pabu and they could use her help :(
but also I'm selfish and want to see her more
"But I've got a few lives left" - RAAAAAAAHHH
Also Crosshair helping Omega and Asajj up onto the Maurader :((
I love Crosshair :((
The last two episodes have been relatively,,, calm? Like the calm before the storm and that makes me fucking TERRIFIED for this week's episode oh my god
