ive been watching brave animated series on netflix and halfway through the six episodes, so im gonna finish it and hopefully like it more by the end, but ngl i havent gotten this much tonal dissonance in a while
#i mean i like the rpg deconstruction. reminds me of undertale. and i do really like how the braves are unambiguously the villains#but it also just... feels weird? like its both a super violent show where innocent ppl diebut also it wants to pull kids cartoon tropes?#like maybe its just that present morewant has only been in one episode so far but its weird to see him be taken super seriously in episode 1#and then in episode 2 they kinda like... play him being ''pathetic and poor'' as a joke?or like its quirky? idk it doesnt feel serious#like if it was part of the drama then thats one thing but from what ive seen its just a very weird tonal shift with not enough to back it up#and its weird bc stuff like that makes me wonder who this is aimed at? like the humordoesnt feel sharp enough to be for adults#it feels very childish to me sometimes or at least kinda pre teen. but then its super violent and deconstructive?#so like i guess its teen media? but even then i dont think id have liked this or felt catered to as a teen#it doesnt feel like infinity train where its deconstructive and violent but still fun enoughfor teens#idk maybe im just bitter bc SPOILERS FOR THE SHOW BTW#i watched it bc i wanted to see the sick demon character more and they die in that same episode#and i mean i guess i like dragon girl enough to keep watching but man. i liked that little dude#echoed voice#idk tho. maybe once i actually finish it ill like it idk
