After reading your Ren/Angel writings (love them all ❤️)an idea poped up. Mc doesn't like the taste of artifical cherries so they avoid eating any cherry flavored candies. Ren knows this. But somehow Mc notices Ren seems to secretly love cherry candies so Angel surprises them with a variety of cherry candies 🍬
💝 Wondering how they find out hmm. Cherry scented cologne hidden in the bathroom? Ren taking 0.25 seconds longer than usual to pick a little treat in line at the grocery store? Detective Angel is on the case...!
14 Days With You is an 18+ Yandere Visual Novel. MINORS DNI
💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤
Very Cherry
The rustling of plastic bags was unmistakable as you opened all the things you'd bought, but [REDACTED] dutifully kept his eyes closed. You accidentally knocked one bag over and sent a few lollipops careening off the table with a loud clatter. A few fell into his lap. He pretended not to notice.
“Y’really don't want any he—”
“No!!” you quickly interrupted him, already picking the candies up. “It's a surprise.”
Finally, after discarding a few damaged goods, the bowl you'd set before him was full. All sorts of colorful sweets were piled together. Gummies, chocolates, hard candies and more, each with a cherry flavor to them that you were certain he’d love.
You made a face at the pile, but thankfully none of it was for you to snack on. “You can open your eyes,” you said, but changed your mind immediately. “Wait! Wait—” You ran around to sit opposite of them at the table. Seeing his reaction was all you could think of for the past few weeks. “Okay, now open them.”
Their eyes opened, neither shocked nor surprised, but excited nonetheless. “‘Was wonderin’ what y’were buying all this candy y’don’t even like for. Seemed like too much for the kids at the library.”
“Hey!” You didn't expect him to admit to stalking your internet history. “I thought you'd learn to stop snooping by now. Act surprised, or else.”
They grinned before doing their best soft and shy Haruko impression—a mockery of an act they'd long since dropped. “O-Oh, a gift? You're so sweet, Angel!! I can't believe you bought these for me. I promise I'll treasure it!”
You rolled your eyes, but answered with sincerity, “You're worth every cent. I like seeing you happy, Ren. And I like making you happy.”
“Shit…” [REDACTED] muttered and rubbed at his jaw, almost at a loss for words. “I... Thank you. Really.”
In spite of the genuine blush forming on the hacker’s cheeks, you could tell he had mixed feelings. Of course they'd be grateful for anything you gifted him. But if it was something that you were open about hating, the item in question would be avoided altogether. Regardless of his own feelings on the matter. It was a strange tendency they couldn’t really let go of just yet.
Encouragement, and a little pleading, would do the trick, though.
“I worked really hard to find all of these. And I was looking forward to seeing your face when you finally had some,” you said, practically pouting at them, your chin resting in the palms of your hands. “Just a bite?”
Both the statements were true. Since you couldn't stand the flavor you thoroughly scoured all the online reviews before enlisting the pickiest of your friends to taste test, then repeated it all to find candies that suited him. Enough to get a wide variety. So the results from all that effort were very important to you.
Incapable of ever refusing the smallest request, your partner grabbed a wrapped candy at random from the bowl. It was a half moon shape, and a bright shade of red with a white line along the round edge. Kiara had suggested that one—but only after telling her all the expensive candies she sent would use up a huge chunk of your budget.
You chose to keep that information to yourself as he carefully unwrapped the gummy candy. Any mention of another person would no doubt sour his mood.
[REDACTED] held the candy up to their lips, and instead of eating it whole, they took the tiniest nibble you'd ever seen. Still, his face lit up at the first sample. He took another tiny bite, then another and another. As if he couldn’t decide between savoring or devouring it completely.
“Do you like it?” You leaned forward on the table, relishing in his reaction.
He swallowed to answer you right away, putting the candy—with not even half of it missing—back in its paper. “Yeah. ‘Like it a lot, actually.”
The bowl’s many candies crinkled as you fished through it to pull more of the same type out. “They have a sour version, too. I'm sure you'll like that one even better,” you said. In the small pile of half moons you made, there were a few speckled with white sugar. He took another. “I'll order some more so you don't have to eat them like… that.”
“‘M not trying t’save ‘em,” he mumbled, though the delicate way he unwrapped a sour gummy and started nibbling again like a hamster said otherwise. It was a fascinating sight, if not completely silly for the man decked head to toe in black clothes, intimidating accessories, and silver piercings. You had to keep yourself from giggling and he insisted again. “Really, Angel. I jus’ wanna be able to thank you properly when I’m done.”
You smiled at their consideration. All too easily, you could imagine your face scrunching up at the cherry taste sure to linger on your boyfriend's tongue if he kept indulging. “I'd still kiss you even if you taste awful,” you teased.
As if to test your confidence, he popped the candy into his mouth and watched you pointedly. They took their sweet time to chew it, giving you time to reconsider the idea while he fiddled with a lollipop from the bowl.
Your nose wrinkled as the faint cherry smell finally wafted over, the fruity scent stronger than you anticipated. “... Maybe only on the cheek, though.”
He noisily stood from his chair, and you knew right away he was leaving to brush his teeth.

I'm not sure you remember me but I've had another thought plague my brain
Wolf hybrid Chan and reader who's scared to live alone, I really hope your seeing my vision here
So let's say things fall into place when someone breaks into readers apartment and now the place they once called home no longer feels safe so they look to move to a much quieter area and hopefully move in with someone untill they can feel a little bit more comfortable again
And wolf Chan is tired of working a bunch of hours and barley making rent so he's on the lookout for a new flatmate and after some time they end up contacting eachother
Chan thinks nothing of the first time they meet up he's lived with people in the past doesn't see why the reader is so nervous, he's sitting across the table from them and can hear how fast there heart is beating but doesn't say anything to not spook them even more
Were as the reader is sweating bullets across the table because there still not over what happened and now doing what was always thought not to do, don't talk to strangers let alone move in with one
The move in is smooth Chan helps carry most things since it's nothing really difficult for him and he really just wanted to get his scent on everything without making it too obvious
They merge well together better than they could have ever thought, they hang out eat at the table if there both home watch movies maybe even a few boardgames
One thing Chan might have forgot to mention is that his friends come over whenever they want regardless of the time if there near they'll drop in to say hello or sleep on the sofa for the night
After there movie night they split ways and head to bed tired after a long day and some really good food
Couple hours go by and everyone is asleep cozy under the blankets when the reader is woken up to the sound of the front door opening but there's no way because they definitely locked it before going to bed and the neighbourhood doesn't really attract attention like that
They continue to listen and can hear some muffled voices still down stairs and she's suddenly can't breathe because it's happening again how can they be so unlucky there vision is fading in and out they feel like there gonna throw up and then an idea finally makes it's way through all the panic they just need to run down the hall and get to Chans room how hard can that be it's just a couple of feet away that's it
Except they feel like there walking on a glue trap everything is going so slow eventually cracking the door open slightly to hear how close they are, now what sounds like they've moved to the kitchen and scrambles down towards Chan's room burst through the door dives right onto his bed and quietly but also loudly trying to wake him up
It doesn't take long before Chan shoots up out of his sleep frantically looking around for what keeps hitting him and them he sees it , teary eyes looking right at him and he feels like he's been hit by a truck so overwhelmed with needing to protect them suddenly he's up putting himself between them and his bedroom door asking them what's got them so upset and after explaining what they've heard he slowly makes his way down stairs towards the kitchen and hears footsteps shuffling around so he waits until they try leave
Not even two minutes later the intruder walk out the kitchen to head to the sitting room and Chan jumps pushing them to the floor that's met with a very familiar scream he looks up and sees Felix he's long time best friend and beneath his other best friend Changbin not looking to impressed with being tackled to the floor
Chan explains what's going on and looks a little embarrassed that he's maybe overreacted but his friends understand completely and just wanted a little snack before staying the night after apologizing he heads back up stairs to tell the reader there's nothing to worry about and they can head back to bed only when he gets to his room there nowhere to be found
Chan told them that no matter what they've not to leave until he give the all clear but then he hears it the little sniffles that come from under his covers
Pulling them back he's met with a scared face and tears running down there cheek and immediately gets to comforting them wrapped them in not only the blanket but his arms tells them everything that's happened and how it's just some friends that need a place to stay the night and he must have forgotten to mention that they do that sometimes
After a couple minutes of rocking and helping the reader take some beep breaths do they realize the position there in
It's not awkward but it's the closest they've ever been to each other. Chan suddenly aware of how nice they smell how perfectly they fit in his arms, the reader is now aware of how beautiful Chans eyes are and how much heat he gives off and doesn't want to move wants to fall asleep like this every night if possible
That's definitely just the left over adrenaline running through there body because that's the only reason they could be thinking like this nothing to do with unspoken feelings no way
A few nights go by and both of them are suddenly too busy for dinner or movie night together just straight to bed after work only there not sleeping, just tossing back an forth imaging being curled up under the blankets with no where to go and just lay in eachothers arms so the reader decides to make the first move and heads to Chans room and lightly knocks on the door hoping he doesn't hear it but of course he does
They peek through the door and with a little wave explains how they can't sleep and just wanted to see if he was up, a couple minutes of slow awkward conversation Chan scoots over and pats the empty spot next to him inviting them into his bed
And who's saying no to that??? nobody is, so they make there way over greeted by the warmth and comfort of Chan
It's almost like he knew what they both wanted but didn't verbalise it and it's the best sleep they've had in days and it would only make sense for that to be the arrangement from now on because sleep is so important and it's definitely not for anything else
Even though there friend group pokes fun at them over there living situation and how they can't see how infactuated they are with one another there happy enough with what they've got and wouldn't change that little bubble of each other they get every night
This one is a little more on the softer side and written out very messy so I apologise
Also I need to think of a different scenario other than them moving in together it's always that for some reason 😭
THIS IS SO CUTE YOU HAVE OUT DONE YOURSELF ONCE AGAINNNNN SLOW BURN ROOMMATES TO LOVERS I EAT THAT SHIT UP EVERY TIME

[Again its very sappy] Very good, very good, very good!
So, to keep everyone from getting cavities, let's move the stage:
A food court in a shopping mall - because I doubt those were a thing 500 years ago and Mac doesn't want to stay at home all day.
A place with actual food and plenty of people to, ahem, snack on - what more could this monkey want?
And with juicy new future food, well, it seems like a good day, especially this thing called a 'burger'-
"Ehem!"
The glamoured six ears twitch at that, and his head swivels to the source of the sound to see...some human woman? He's not too versed on modern days fashion, but the clothing does look nice, Mac supposes.
The women gave them a look of disgust and pointedly asked at the darker monkey, "Should you be eating that with your weight?"
SWK is ready to go on the defensive (relationship in shambles or not, no bitch will be allowed to run her mouth like that at his Moon! Especially when he's pregnant!), but Mac calmly stands up, keeping eye contact with the woman. Then he grabs the big juicy burger and starts eating it in big bites, ripping with his sharp teeth, while still keeping eye contact. Unflinching and steady.
Whatever bravado the woman had was diminishing faster than a whole orchard of heavenly peaches with SWK in the area.
With the final bite down, Macaque then very widely and very toothily smiled.
Ever seen a rhesus macaque's (the species SWK and Mac are based on) chompers?
Tumblr media
Mac used Intimidate! Wild Karen fled for the hills.
SWK meanwhile is 1/3 impressed at Mac's self-control, 1/3 amused at the spectacle, and 1/3 In Full Simp Mode.
Oh my, even separated from the au; Macaque really would be taken aback by how much food is available in the modern world. Like??? China has an infamous history of famine, and I could see Macaque not having a fun time roughing it when FF Mountain was burned. But now theres so much food that there's overabundance??
Wukong and Tang are def the ones that drag him to a food court/hawker centre to try out new dishes. Pigsy grumbled ofc cus; "I would've cooked you some if you asked."
Macaque: "But we have food at home???" Wukong: "I mean yeah, noodles. But have you ever tried street food? Or cheese tea? Or- OH man! You don't even know that Peach chips exist!" Macaque: "I once ate flatbread a man cooked using his own helmet. I stayed away from big cities when I could." :\ Tang, eyes already glazed with hunger: "Brace yourself then."
Cue Macaque having a brief sensory overload of smells (everything smells so good), sight (lots of things to look at), and Sound (so loud). Tang and Wukong are able to ground him enough so he doesn't leap away like a startled cat - noise canceling headphones quickly become Macaque's favorite modern tech. They find themselves a quiet corner of the food court to sample the wares of the modern world.
Macaque is cautious to try anything at first, but immediately gets enthralled by a regular ol' juicy cheeseburger grilling on a skillet - think of the burger thay made in The Menu. Meat, bread, and cheese? One sniff and he is off. It's like Homer taking the first bite of the Ribwich.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The other two are surprised how much he gets into it since he seemed to glance over the more traditional chinese street food places. Macaque is too busy having a religous experience with the first burger to realise that dips, sauces and other stuff can be put on them. They all end up campling outside the nearest McDonDons (anime joke) or local burger joint so Macaque can focus on one type of food for his first culinary expedition.
The a group of women sitting a table over make a catty comment about Macaque "not needing the extra weight" + "what is it with demons eating like that?". Tang is uncomfy cus he isn't sure how Macaque reacts to public rudeness, whilst Wukong is seconds away from going into defensive hero mode. Macaque just finishes his burger, teeth bared, without breaking eye contact with the women making the comments. Rude onlookers are terrifed, Tang is giggling to himself, and Wukong is in full "I love my terrifying mate" mode.
It becomes a ritual of sorts for them to take Macaque out for a new food each week as a bonding experience/enrichment. He ends up enjoying most things he can get his hands on, especially if said thing was originally on Wukong's plate >:) - Wukong complains but is secretly very much adores seeing his mate's more playful side. Macaque also develops a weird craving for cheese tea later in pregnancy for some reason.
Pigsy still proudly holds the title for the best noodles Macaque has ever eaten though.

Goromi dates (yes, plural)
First date with Goromi was Majima overcompensating after bowling with Kiryu. Nishida simply offered to find a setting that would be more comfortable for Majima and a little less comfortable for Kiryu, and Majima went all out.
Nishida: So what's gonna be comfortable for you, boss? Majima: I catch your drift, yeah, let's order a dress!
Here you can read the rggo story, where Majima worked in SHINE as Goromi for a while before the first date!
Here is the comic prequel to the second date.
And let's roll~
- So, for the second date Majima should wear a short slim black dress with an open back and long blond hair loose, so it covers the tattoo, but can be swept over the shoulder at the right time. Considering that we only see yakuza back tattoos before veeeery serious fights this is a bit of playing with danger there. Majima can put the hair over his shoulder when it's time.
Also he has a silver chain on his neck. Maybe gloves can stay on, too! The dress is black or dark blue, velvety to the touch, turtleneck top, sleeves to the elbow. Makeup is very subdued, just an evening look with a touch of red lipstick.
Kiryu will have so many compliments, Goromi better hold on to the couch and her champagne.
- Judging by the glasses Goromi ordered something very strong on the first date. All of it was prep for the fight, so yeah, it was no champagne. But this new meeting is classy, so gotta go all out. Bringing out champagne, cheesecake and idk. They have pretty trashy snacks at this club. Majima will have to look into that afterwards.
Clientele is not so sophisticated there, usually. Kiryu isn't that sophisticated either. But it's the principle! Also it's a special occasion, because it's Kiryu visiting. Again. So Majima might be overpreparing now.
(Remembering the fact that Kiryu thought Majima doesn't eat fast food, only stuff from fancy restaurants)
And while Majima waits for Kiryu, the manager of SHINE is somewhere out there in Kamurocho, sweating on the quest to find vinegar. It's tradition. All managers go through vinegar baptism. And also Majima mumbling "oh, back in my time…" is very endearing.
Majima, tipping wine glass, trying to play it cool in front of Kiryu: Manager, still sweating: *stands on one knee to put freshly made onigiri and curry on the table*
All of this because Kiryu said he wants to learn more about running a cabare club. So here's a trip to the past, so interesting. And Goromi can talk about it for ages.
(And yes, Majima brought his own vinegar. He knew the manager (oh, the poor manager) will not find it.)
- (The date itself includes the love meter boss fight. Both of them have this meters and each is half of monitor in length.)
- "What's your fun opening story to break the ice on dates, Kiryu-chan?" asks Majima not realising yet what he's about to bring on himself.
Kiryu, scratching his head, trying to quickly remember any fun stories: Logic (medium: failure): the ones you shared on the radio back in the day must be safe.
So Kiryu spins the tale about the dominatrix sidestory, finishing with a kiler: -and then I watched their session, hahah. Goromi: …and how, pray tell, you gained all this BDSM knowledge? Kiryu: it's just common sense?
He's full of mysteries. And likes to watch. Goromi is bluescreening hard. This whole thing is already backfiring. On everyone in a mile radius (yes, of course all of SHINE personnel is listening in).
Honestly, talks with Mana prepared Majima for this. But just imagine Kiryu asking Goromi with a straight (hehe) face if he's an S or an M. Or, more likely, if Goromi would rather work at a BDSM club or visit it. Or is she more of a casual street session enjoyer?
Logic (heroic: failure) in the voice of Baccus: you are nailing the casual conversation here, my boy 👌👌👌👌👉👉 Empathy (formidable: success): he will be impressed with your knowledge 😌😌😌
(Dang, Mana. She managed to catch Majima by surprise and he answered honestly. Oh, Kiryu's big honest eyes with one braincell shining through)
Goromi has 3 options:
X attack by attack Y answer honestly B "no you" card
Asking Kiryu about his preferences puts him in deep and serious thought. If he'll answer honestly… about figuring it out by trying, and learning through observation, and having a good feeling when it's clear that the other person is enjoying themselves… Murder. It will be straight up murder.
"Goromi-san, you must really like this champagne! You just downed a whole bottle in one go."
- Kiryu: Are you enjoying our fights, Goromi-san? Logic: you gotta make sure 👌
Majima-san always made sure to ask for consent in their fights! Kiryu should also be responsible. What if he can do better?
It was already straight up murder when on the first date after Majima's rant about strong men and fighting Kiryu asked (in a suave gentleman voice): "Want me to fight you?"
"You like strong men? I'm a strong man. Just saying."
But yeah, back to the point, this was actually bothering Kiryu, he even ranted to Tanaka about it. Clear communication is the key, so if Goromi-san thinks there are things Kiryu can do differently or try harder with… does he know enough moves, what if the same routine gets boring?
Majima enjoys fights with strong men >> logic happening >> Majima's enjoyment is the goal.
Kiryu is clearly getting stronger from the Majima Everywhere system. And Majima is doing it, because he enjoys it. So they both should get equal benefits from what's going on.
Kiryu is a good learner. Maybe he should do more leg over the shoulder throws? Should he still grab Majima's collar from the front? He breaks free from it so easy, but what if it's about trying, about the resistance?
All of this is happening directly after BDSM talk, of course. Kiryu finally found a good segway to talk about it all, he's on the roll.
He's winning this social interaction 👏👏
More champagne for the lady, please. This is a serious topic, Kiryu is willing to pay. It's a second extension too, Kiryu is gonna be here for a while.
- And yeah, Kiryu is talking with Goromi without thinking much, just talking.
Majima accidentally did a lot for him there, by coming up with this date idea (for himself too, but that's another story). Still thinking about Goromi jokingly telling Kiryu "Just don't fall for me", and Kiryu looking at him intensely and going "I dunno. Love can be unpredictable."
Kiryu, apart from being autistic, was raised in an orphanage and in the hyper masculine world of yakuza, with two extremely emotionally repressed men as father figures. He clearly has a lot of trouble admitting his feelings out loud, and knowing the appropriate time to do so. It seems that his way of masking (and generally surviving) is seeing different human interactions as a set of scenarios with set rules and decorations. Like, "the date", "talk with a passerby", "at the bar" and so on. And they help Kiryu with social interactions, sure, but also are quite rigid sometimes, and lock him in a sad and lonely place where he can't really connect to people, because there's not enough nuance in the script and no tolerance for sentimentality in the world Kiryu's building this scripts from.
So, coming from this angle, you can see how on a date with Goromi the scenarios clash.
According to the rules, two men can't really be super open or emotional with each other, or admit interest in each other. But now this is "just a man and a hostess, enjoying drinks together". And normally Kiryu would have 0 interest in being open or flirty with a hostess, he just goes through the motions that you're supposed to do, and is a bit clueless even. But now it's Goromi. It's Majima. It's someone he knows and cares about. Someone with whom he can say all the right things he's supposed to say and it will be true! Incredible. Mind-blowing.
(Later Rina will blow Kiryu's mind even more with "you know you can date men, when you're a man, right")
Majima, putting on stockings: heheheh, yeah, this will immediately prompt a fight :3c Kiryu, sitting with Goromi, moved to the core: this is the best moment of my life, feeling so good right now, can we do this forever please-
- And a note for Majima's POV: on the first date he was ready to go right away, but then Kiryu said with no-objection tone "No. We're just a man and a hostess, enjoying drinks together." And I bet Majima went along with it partially because his little BDSM tendencies rose up to the direct order.
It's one thing to defy or follow orders of your yakuza superiors, which are frankly very tiresome and are mostly bullshit power plays. As we've seen in the Majima saga he is really tired of it all. But an order put in unexpectedly (very expectedly) queer conditions, by a person he's attracted to? Ohwell.
So he complied. On his terms, sure, but he did. Unexpectedly locked on the route of exploring the Goromi side of himself too.
So there's a lot going on on this little date. So many things. And the second one were all of this is hammered home even more is very close to our hearts.
Majima: Pew, hope he will never find out about my sudden dirty thoughts. Almost embarrassed myself there. You're walking a dangerous line there, Goro. Thankfully, Kiryu-chan is not a person to dwell on kink topics. Kiryu: So, about BDSM… Majima: Well! Too bad Kiryu is straight! Ha ha. Ha.
Majima has his own fun little mini-game of finding explanations.
But what is an explanation, when the second date the tiny clasp on the Goromi's heels comes undone. And it sits at an awkward angle, making it hard for her to fix. And Kiryu steps around the table, goes on one knee like "Allow me to help, please", and waits for an answer.
Ambulance needed, person injured themselves with mental gymnastics.
And after fixing the clasp Kiryu holds Goromi's ankle carefully for a just fraction of a second longer than needed.
Explanation for all this will need some serious thought. And this specific moment? Well it's going in the box. And the box is going in the vault. And then under the safety hat.
There's a serious turnaround about this whole thing in Majima's head, he's comparing Kiryu's behavior towards Goromi with how he got along with cabare girls himself.
Majima was more or less gallant with them, too, and often helped them with clothes, makeup, shoes and whatnot. So, obviously Kiryu feels okay helping with the shoes, because he's not attracted to Goromi/Majima! Case solved.
Meanwhile, Kiryu, when random girls flirt with him: let's not go there. Kiryu when Goromi: I will absolutely go there the first chance I have.
Blunt as a rock.
Cabare girls are sideeyeing Kiryu working on Goromi's clasp, holding their breath. Better than any tv show.
- Goromi, clinking her glass on the bottle: Where's my champagne? Your quite slow today, Kiryu-chan, what about being a gentleman. Kiryu, staring at Goromi's sholderblade where the tattoo is barely visible through the cascade of hair: Uhuh.
There's something about the tattoo being partially covered but still visible. Also it's quite a beautiful tattoo. Kiryu has only seen glimpses of it by that point, and not from this close. And even later, after their "final" fight, it's still not the same as looking at it up close in calm circumstances. Can't really stare during fights, or, after seeing Hannya Man's smile, you'll immediately see the ceiling.
This is actually an additional difficulty level for their battles. Kiryu is a curious creature, he wants to see the snakes up close.

New neighbors Au - Wordgirl x Welcome home chapter 4
The group found themselves following the bird. Poppy was her name. She was very nice, she allowed them to rest at her place for a while. She lived in a refurbished red barn. Which made sense since she was a chicken and all.
Another thing they noticed about Poppy was that she was very motherly. Reminded them a bit like their mom in some ways.
Inside was cozy, like a home should be. Her front door led them directly into her living room. Soft cream colored Wallpaper adorned the walls as well as a few pictures. In a corner a small bookshelf stood, holding a couple of cookbooks and magazines. And in the middle A coffee table and couch sat.A light fragrance of something sweet was in the air.
The kids stared in awe.
"Please make yourselves comfortable." She said, gesturing to them to sit down on her couch. "I would have prepared more food if I knew I would be having guests over." She paused halfway to her kitchen. "You guys don't mind cheesecake?" Becky and Chase glanced at each other … .Well they couldn't remember the last time they ate.
"No.. cheesecake is fine" Chase said. He wasn't very fond of it considering what his father had been through. But he didn't want to be rude.
"Cheesecake!?" Blu and Squeaky said. Poppy gave them a soft smile. "I'll be right back with it." She says.
The hen came back with not only the cheesecake, but with some tea cups and a teapot. She cut each of them a slice of cake. She pours each of them a cup of tea and hands it to them. "I hope you five don't mind Mint tea."
"Not at all." Bob says, taking a sip.
"Squeaky wants more cheese!"
"Why don't you finish eating first?" Poppy said. She frowned seeing the mouse glare at her.
"Sorry about him" Becky said, sending a small death glare at Squeaky. Poppy brushed it off. "You guys are probably tired from traveling" she said, placing down her tea cup. She then paused, realizing she hadn't spotted the kids' parents with them. "Where are your parents by the way?"
"We're not actually sure."
Poppy thought for a moment. "Well if you guys are moving in, your parents are probably around here somewhere."
"They're…here?" Bob said, nearly spitting out his tea. Poppy nodded, not noticing their shocked faces. "Yes. There's a house around here that just got sold. I'm pretty sure you're moving in there."
Chase, Becky and Bob shared glances. This was strange. They didn't even know they were moving….this felt all very sudden…and a bit off. "Wouldn't mom and Dad tell us?" Becky asks. Chase nodded, agreeing. "Still doesn't explain how we're puppets now .." their voices were low talking to each other.
"I love it here!" Blu says, munching on another slice of cheesecake. "I hope we stay forever and ever!" she giggles. Bob gave a concerned look. "Erm…I don't think we could realistically…" he mutters. "Squeaky doesn't care as long as squeaky gets cheese" the mouse huffs. Bob, and the two older Boxleitner kids rolled their eyes…because of course.
After their snack, Poppy was ready to grab a few things from the store. "I can take you to your new home since it's not far from where I was headed." She explained. "I forgot to ask Howdy to deliver groceries today." Ah so that's where she was going before she had found them. They didn't know who Howdy was but figured it wouldn't hurt to meet the people…er puppets of this town.
"Who's howdy?" Blu asks. She was still under the impression it was all a dream. But if it was really happening she didn't mind one bit. This place was perfect and colorful.
"Well, Howdy is a friend and neighbor of mine." Poppy begins explaining a bit.
With not much to do except follow after, the other four walked along the dirt path. Becky and Chase looked around. Anxious and hopeful that when they saw their parents they could figure out what the haystack was going on.

Dreams from 23.4.24
Dream 1 I was in a house, like a dorm or share house where three girls lived. There were three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and it was quite spacious. I was happy that they had such a comfortable living arrangement. I was hanging out with a group of people in this house, and it felt really late actually, it felt like it was almost midnight.
Everyone is seated around a big rectangular table in the kitchen. They're my friends but also they're not, I dunno. There are some kind of snacks on the table, they remind me of Cheetos but larger and more pale-coloured. There's some that are ready, and more is currently being cooked in something that looks like a popcorn maker. I can't really taste them. I am just eating them as something to do.
There was this one girl who didn't feel well. She kept pressing on her stomach, maybe she was pregnant. She asked me about a class that was either taking place today or tomorrow and how it was all going. I think she wanted to know how involved and demanding the class was because she wants to figure out if she would be able to manage it in her condition. I didn't really know what to tell her since I couldn't really remember. Whatever I said, it was vague.
I think my ex is here. I don't see him but I sense that he must be in the room. We had just broken up and I wanted to give off the appearance that I was okay and didn't care. I felt his general aura to the right of me, so I go and sit near two of his friends who are sitting on the left. I start chatting to them. I am very animated as I engage them in conversation and making them like me is effortless. One of the guys starts stroking my thigh, which I hardly seem to notice for quite some time. I wasn't responding to it, so he stopped. I continue going around the table talking to different people. Sometimes no one talks and we sit in silence, but it doesn't feel awkward at all. It’s still vibes.
Then someone brings up SM. I don't know why, none of these people are my co-workers, it actually seems like we must all be classmates or something. Someone says, He looks like water. This is in reference to the water signs in astrology. I say, It's because he has Cancer rising. They are pointing out that he has a soft and sweet demeanor. Then I say, as if I am some authority on the matter, He is also very down to earth because he has some planets in earth signs.
Then it's brought to my attention that one of the girls who lives there isn't actually here right now. She is out partying or partaking in some other social activity and won't return home until very late. I get the impression she's been gone all day.
Dream 2 I was at the cinema watching a movie and at the end, an advertisement came up on the movie screen. It was something like an infomercial and after it played, it asked if I wanted to buy the product on offer. I have no idea what it was but I did want to and so I followed the prompts. The screen was interactive somehow, I just had to think about what I wanted to 'select' and it would go to the next part. It was like I was clicking buttons on a computer but I wasn't doing anything, just sitting back in a cinema chair. There were other people around me but it felt like it was just me, or like those people didn't matter. I wasn't self-conscious of the fact that this was happening, that everyone was getting the play-by-play of my decision to purchase this product. When it got to the payment part, it was quite odd. I have the sensation of paying with my card but I didn't take my card out or anything, I just thought of it and it did so. But then it said that only a partial amount of the full price had been paid and I would need to go to the counter outside to pay the rest in the usual way, like $20. But then something else said that in actuality, I don't need to pay anything. It just popped up on the screen like a surprise. Now I think all I needed to do was collect my item. I got up from my seat and walked toward the exit. As I was walking away I saw that this cinema room was right beside another cinema room and they were both connected toward the back. Like it was open-air and the segregation of the rooms was just an illusion. It even felt like it wasn't just the back of the rooms. Also the wall that joins the two, wasn't a wall, but was made of something thin, like a sheet. A veil appearing as a wall. I wondered how this affected the audience members in each 'room'. Wouldn't the sounds coming from each film being played, effect the audience in the other, detracting from the viewing experience? How bizarre. But I realise that while I was watching the film (which I don't remember at all), I did not hear the movie coming from the other room at all. So it must have been fine.
Dream 3 I'm in a department store at a skincare brand counter and the sales lady is trying to sell me something but I say no to it. Then she pulls out something else, some kind of treatment essence in a bottle. I am more interested in this product, and realise it is more expensive than the first product she showed me. It was $77. I just thought, why not? The price is just whatever and I mean it looks of good quality and it'll be an extra step in my skincare routine that'll help pass the time.

Note
"A little presentation never does harm, least, this is how I feel whenever I get to work my hobbys in the the city sides." Thoma mentions with a gentle laugh as the current dwelling they momentarily inhabit holds quite the luxurious scent. He felt particularly giving in lieu of their growing bond. After learning about their affinity for sweets, destiny simply takes the wheel in what transpires next. Furina's patience would be rewarded in what's displayed at the table for her. A staple Inazuman original known as Tricolor Dango would be set, three rows of them offered, practically glistening due to the level of care he settled into them. It doesn't end there either, a cup of hot cocoa was settled by the dishes side. Warm and practically begging to be sampled. Not to mention that there's a small gift upon its surface, a Rainbow Rose carefully made through the technique of foam art. Thoma couldn't help looking a little bashful and a little proud all the same. "Here, after such a long week you had. With how highly you speak of Fontaine, figured you'd like a little spin of home with your snack too."
furina was pleasantly surprised to find that thoma seemed to enjoy to cook. she found herself sitting by her table with a leg crossed over the other, her chin propped against her gloved hand whilst her arms rested on the fine wood of where she had grown accustomed to eating alone. thoma busied himself in her little kitchenette & whatever it was that he was making, the mere scent of it had already made its way over to furina & she could confidently confirm to herself that she was already a fan. the scent was sweet & oh how she loved her sweets. though his back was turned to her as he cooked away, she was listening, her mismatched ocean drops of blue looking towards him. ' you really didn't have to do this, but i appreciate it, thank you. ' she truly did. her cooking had gotten better, but she wasn't about to turn down somebody wanting to cook for her instead, not only was it something she believed to be rude to do so, but she missed being cooked for.
she would be lying if she said she wasn't curious to see what thoma could dish up though, so that had her at the edge of her seat.
thoma was a lovely guy, she enjoyed his company, it was difficult not to smile around him, but she thought that to be a good thing & not something bad.
when her treats were done & set on the table she was pleasantly surprised by the presentation of them, the mere sight of them would make even a person who thought they have had their fill for the day water out of hunger. these were inazumen cuisines then? it would be an understatement to say that she was excited to try them out.
Tumblr media
' oh? ' her attention, once seduced by his food, had now gone straight to him with his words, an air of mischief about her. ' my, oh my, if i didn't know any better it's almost like you're trying to impress me. ' she merely teased, a little jest if he was going to remain insistent on living that door open for her. how could she possibly refuse the blaring invitation? ' a man after my own heart, dare i say. ' she pushed, though truly she really was impressed. touched by this gesture of his. it must be part of his language, how endearing. perhaps she too would return the gesture & cook for him one of these days...w-when she felt more confident in that particular skill of hers of course. she was still perfecting it at the moment.
' hmm ' furina hummed & took hold of one of the tricolor dango. with a fork she poked at one of the absolutely delectable looking treats at the very end of its stick & slid it out. ' but you know, if the chef isn't satisfied with the first bite how could they possibly hope to satisfy the person they're serving it to? ' her question was rhetorical at best, she wasn't expecting him to answer it because the regina was not looking for an answer, she was simply giving him context. ' thus, as the chef, you will have the first bite & tell me what you think before i consume anything. ' she looked right at him, expecting him to do as she said.
' now come, say ahh. ' she held out the treat on her fork to him, her intention clear: she was going to feed it to him. this was not a request, but a demand from yours truly.

Look at him how cute he is! My heart
Tumblr media
✥⚜✥ It's weekend, sun still waiting to come out to greet everyone and chill cold air surrounded you as you groaned and get dressed in peach coloured blouse and black high waisted pencil skirt which was cut off in the middle of your thighs for a meeting that was set by your Boss for some important project. Since you have prepared everything with your hard work, you wanted to arrive as early as possible to give your best impression to let them see that you are capable of becoming a leader.
✥⚜✥ You looked towards the love of your life Diluc sleeping peacefully, He looks so cute like this I wish I could stay and enjoy this weekend with him, you thought while removing red strands from his pretty gorgeous face. Hoping that he doesn't miss you too much after working so hard for almost a week he definitely deserves to have some rest, you cooked his favorite meal and wrote 'Babe I am sorry I have some important meeting to attend I have to go, your favorite meal is prepared have a good day I will come home by evening', you wrote on a sticking paper and placed it on the table besides bed.
✥⚜✥ Diluc might run out to find you if you don't do this and will die worrying about you, as you smiled at least you don't have any complain like other girls have from their husbands. You kissed his forehead before making your way out of your room not before giving him a last glace. Suddenly you felt long slender fingers warped around your right wrist stopping you from going outside the room, you turned back seeing, Diluc half asleep rubbing his eyes to adjust the vision.
✥⚜✥ Where.........where are you going?",he said in his deep hoarse voice 'good thing' you thought, it's better to inform him face to face. "I have some meetings to attend right now", he looked at the time and turned towards you, looking up at you with his puppy eyes. "It's so early why does your boss always calls you, you and I work all the week and then the last thing your boss does is to take you from me, arranging some meetings", Diluc felt somewhat sad and angry why does your jerk boss keep on calling you? He is taking all of your time which is rightfully his, if only he could stop you but it's your happiness that allows him to let you do your dream job.
✥⚜✥ "Babe don't say that it's mandatory for everyone to attend today's meeting not just me", your answer made his face sour as he hugged your waist and put his face on your stomach, "No you can take leave for today I want to stay with you, I am so tired not being able to spend time with you no you can't leave me all alone if you wanna go then take me with you I am coming too". "You have to understand I will come early alright". He hugged you even tighter refusing to let you go "Last time you said that too but you didn't come early, are you leaving because I ate your (favorite snacks) then I am really sorry please forgive me", his voice sounded like he could cry anytime, everyone wants to take you away from him should he just lock you up so that you could only love him and give all your time to him. Your daily work kept you separated from him and now even in weekends, he can whine like a kid if it can make you stay.
✥⚜✥ "Diluc baby I forgave you for that already, besides you brought so many that I can't even eat all of them alone" you said while patting his head soft hoping it calms him down. "Then it must be because I haven't been able to give you enough time and love that you wanna run away from me, are you upset from me?, I will try my best, it's all my fault please forgive me I will accept everything just don't go please", then he finally looked at you, tears threatening to fall from his eyes, just what was he thinking all this time. "Babe I only love Diluc and no other men okay", "If you love me then you must stay we can do many things please don't go", at this point Diluc kept his head at the crook of your neck inhaling your sweet smell occasionally peaking your skin, still holding you tight not wanting to let you go.
✥⚜✥ "Y/N are you sure you going home we just started celebrating", one of your colleagues stoped you since your team got the leading project and everyone wanted to celebrate. "I have to, it will be dark soon", you arrived in your residence parking the car in the parking lot. You pressed the ring bell hopping Diluc won't be angry from you since you weren't able to keep your promise. Not even a second passed and door was opened, to your surprise Diluc grabbed you waist, greet you with his lips touching yours and pulled you inside while closing the door with his other hand. His passionate kiss was filled with desperation and longing and refused to depart from you but instead Diluc pulled you closer with your back against the wall.
✥⚜✥ "You said you will make up to me how are you planning on doing that?", his smirk smirk lightly causing your to go red "When did I said that?", he placed his lips against your neck and spoke making you to shiver in his embrace. Diluc strong arms holded your body close as if it's your last, was he sad your intention wasn't to hurt him, you got distracted from your thoughts when suddenly when Diluc bite your neck interlocking his finger with your and pressing himself against you causing your breathe to get uneven, his long soft hair giving you a ticklish feeling, his waist and legs touched your now completely inseparable.
✥⚜✥ Diluc started leaving purple hickeys on your neck marking you since he could smell others cologne coming from you, his jealously reaching heights. How can you be so cruel to leave and forget about him, it can't be your fault you always try to give him your time even if you are tired it's always them, they are being curel on you, he did everything to make you join his company, then you both will together anytime but you rejected continuously since you want to get the job with your own efforts. Diluc pulled away from the work he was doing, making you look at his face dusted with light pick color across his cheeks eyes filled with immense love and lust glittering heart shaped, telling that you can't have your way out.
✥⚜✥You pressed your lips against his soft pink lips gently, Diluc seemed shocked a bit but was soon to caught up with you slipping his tongue inside your mouth exploring, for a second you felt his smiling against your lips happily and you warped your hands around his neck. Diluc bend down to grab your thighs and lift you up making you warp your legs around his waist and kissed you against wall before taking you to bedroom "I suppose you ain't walking tommorow".

Bloodborne NPCs rated by how well they would treat me on a date, from worst to best
Gascoigne's daughters obviously excluded.
21. Suspicious beggar
Listen, I know we all want a gentleman in the streets and a beast in the sheets, but we literally find him hunched over eating some people meat, and honestly, I'd rather you just take me to Denny's.
Rating: Even I, as a monsterfucker, must decline.
20. Skeptical man
I bet he would spend the entire time telling me about his upstart cheap funeral business. Scratch that, he'd take me to his upstart cheap funeral business and expect me to be impressed by his predatory installment payments and hidden fees.
Rating: No, I don't think buy-one-get-one-free is appropriate here, my guy.
19: Lonely old woman
I don't want to come off like a DARE-enthusiast but she literally needs sedatives in order to treat my like a human being. If you're going to need to pop some pills to stand the sight of me, I don't think we're right for each other.
Rating: Winners don't do drugs or something
18: Patches the Spider
Now, not to victim blame myself in this hypothetical situation, but with Patches, you know what you're getting into. You don't date a guy called Patches the Spider expecting him to be your one. You expect him to be the one that leaves you with the bill at an expensive restaurant.
Rating: Sends the most pathetic apology texts.
17: Old Hunter Yamamura
Big conspiracy theory vibes on this guy. Not neccessarily harmful, but you just can't keep a conversation going with a man who insists on reading you his conspiracy themed slam poetry.
Rating: Bad dates are a curse, and a curse is a shackle.
16: Iosefka, the real one
Please remember that this list is only concerned with the datability of the NPC, not how cute I personally find them. And, sadly, I think Iosefka gives off big married to her job vibes. Lots of so sorry, i got swamped at the clinic texts at 8pm while I've been inhaling free breadsticks at the Yharnam olive garden with nobody to stop me and only the pity of the staff for company as I insist my date will show up any second now.
Rating: *shoving old memes into my purse* I have to leave immediately
15: Provost Willem
It's Friends reruns at his place or nothing with this dude. Will not get up from his comfy chair and you'll have to find the snacks at his house on your own.
Rating: "Fear the old blood"? Not very adventurous of you.
14: Fauxsefka
Very hot and cold. I am 100 % aware that any date with Fauxsefka is going to end with me being experimented upon, but until then, I'll be in for a delightfully sinister night. The most unselfaware evil date of them all.
Rating: "Don't worry...I'll be with you for the rest of your life."
13: Vileblood Hunter Alfred
Yeah, yeah, I know he's dreamy. I just don't have the energy to listen to a guy who's clearly still hung up on his ex. I don't want to compete with a dude named Martyr Logarius.
Rating: Looking for a martyr in your relationship just doesn't seem healthy to me.
12: Brador
He's got the YA bad boy vibes. Just look at his laid-back lean, his long hair, his antlers...
Imagine going out to do whatever YA bad boys do on a date...smoking in public and heckling skaters at a skatepark or something, only to find out that the dude you're on a date with used to be an assassin for the church. What are you going to talk about now? Can you even ask questions anymore? What he lets something slip you weren't supposed to know and now he has to kill you?
Rating: 20 questions is probably off the table.
11: Annalise, queen of the vilebloods
She's always a tad distant, don't you think? Like yes, I will take the 5 bad leftist points and admit sometimes thinking about being courted by a queen like in the good old times is big sexy, but in reality as long as she insists I kneel before talking to her we'll never see eye to eye.
Rating: Also she canonically rejects you after offering her the ring of betrothal and I don't think I can handle that.
10: Valtr
Not a bad guy, per se. Definitely has the influence to take me somewhere nice. I'm just very uncomfortable by the fact that he apparently has never heard of trapping the vermin under a glass and putting it outside. Valtr, you don't have to kill the wiggly blood centipede because it's gross!
Rating: Fake date scheme: Instead of calling an exterminator, fake date a hunter.
9: Adella the Nun
It pains me very much to say this, but realistically, Adella probably wouldn't be the best date. You'd ask her where she wanted to go and she'd be all like "oh, I don't mind as long as it's with you" and you'd be left thinking "what a nice sentiment, but we've been dating for five months and I still don't know anything about your interests!"
Rating: Voted most likely to say I love you on the first date.
8: Simon the Harrowed
A tad gossipy. He would be all like "Do you know why this Six Flags was closed last summer? Apparently two kids got flung out of the roller coaster only two months apart, and all they did over the summer was raise the minimum age of that coaster." Like, thanks for the fun facts but do you think you could have chosen literally any other point in time to divulge it than when we were being strapped in for the roller coaster ride?
7: Retired Hunter Djura
A compassionate man! Also a man that would have his house filled with a shit ton of animals he rescued, and would introduce you to each and every one. That's cute and all, but you're never quite sure if he actually knows what he's doing with all these animals.
Rating: Do...do you have a license to keep that alligator?
6: The Doll
Makes you the best tea. Actually, she would take you on the best date, but there'd always be something missing. I'd always be wondering if she isn't just mirroring what she thinks I'd want out of a date.
Rating: Don't mind me spiralling over the moral implications of dating the doll.
5: Saint Adeline
She's kind, gentle and incredibly sweet. She'd also mention some fucked up self-depricating thing about herself or her past so offhandedly that you wouldn't even know where to begin to talk about it, and she's dropped that verbal bomb like it's nothing, but it would leave you a tad uncomfortable nevertheless.
Rating: Hold up. Wait. Just a second. You know it's not healthy to refer to yourself as nothing, right?
4: Gilbert
We're both outsiders in a city that's notably very unfriendly towards outsiders. There's so much to bond over, and we could help each other with our respective troubles! Sadly, he is in the process of turning into a beast, but he's being safe about it and everything!
Rating: Suspicious beggar wishes he were you.
3: Arianna, Woman of the Night
If common theories are to be believed, she really is the best of both worlds: Descended of the Vilebloods but also one of us common folk. And she's got a stable income, honestly, what can't this woman do? Of course, there's the whole eldritch pregnant with an alien baby situation, but honestly, it's your loss if you're not up to it.
Rating: What more can I say but MILFBACAL (mother i'd like to fuck but also cherish and love)?
2: Oedon Chapel Dweller
Seems to me like a real picnic date person. Definitely has some moments of uncomfortable self-deprecation as well, but I think they just need some support in order to get the help they need to find their way out of those patterns.
Rating: Hands just the right size to hold.
1: Eileen the Crow
She's just got it figured out. Of all of the Bloodborne NPCs, she's the one who's got her life together, well, as together as one can have their life in Yharnam. She's got a stable job, she knows when to quit, and even if she's grouchy about it, she will accept help when she needs it. She's an outsider too, but she's also got plenty of experience in Yharnam and in life in general.
Rating: Sweep me off my feet any time!

Tumblr media
A wave of nausea hits you, as you sit up with a throbbing headache. Your pounding head feels like it’s about to crack open, and the bumpy searide is definitely not helping, disrupting you from your much needed rest.
Knock knock. You dragged your body to the door, opening it to find a crew member greeting you.
“Hey! Our crew has prepared some meals, the captain asked if you’d like to sit with us to eat as well?”
“It’s fine, I don’t-” rumble , your stomach rumbles like the storms in Inazuma. Oh, how embarrassed you are.
“Oh my, you must be starving! Come on out! It should be ready!” they drag you out, seating you by the round table with several dishes already served.
Adepti don’t need sustenance , you remember what Xiao always said. Which is, or was , true, as you never felt the need to consume food, eating was only an act to satisfy your own taste buds, not that you ate much except for occasional snacks Childe brings you. But archons do you finally understand the word famished .
The Crux’s crew members are all amiable towards you and lively; filling your bowl with rice to the brim, keeps on adding more meat and vegetables to your bowl after seeing you wolf down the food given like you haven’t eaten for days- you couldn’t even thank them fast enough with your mouth full. The captain, boisterous and energetic, would tell you stories of the crew’s sea journeys while you devoured the dishes. It’s the first time we’ve had a Snezhnayan onboard , she told you with her crew’s eyes sparkling and nodding in agreement.
“So...you’re what they call the harbingers, right? From the Fatui-gang thing? Why are you heading to Liyue?” The captain nonchalantly asked you, causing your hands to freeze on the spot.
Swallowing the mouthful of rice and putting down your chopsticks, you lowered your voice, “Um, I was one, until recently. For now I suppose I’m… meeting up with old friends back in Liyue.” You awkwardly rubbed your neck. The harbinger title may once mean everything to you, but not anymore.
“Oh... is that so?” Beidou sensed stiffness from you, deciding not to press any further, “well, starting off fresh doesn't always mean it’s bad, and meeting up with good old friends huh? That is quite nice, must be looking forward to it, huh?”
“Yes...i-it is quite nice…” Beidou chuckles at your slightly flustered response and lightly ruffles your hair, then continues to stuff your bowl with even more food to make sure you eat enough. She said that you looked pale and sickly, urging you to gobble down more food, with you unable to protest with your mouth full.
.
.
.
You’re definitely less agile compared to before. Your body doesn’t feel as light, no longer able to reach high grounds with a simple jump. Your sword is also a lot heavier than it was, or maybe you just lost strength.
“The clean strikes and experience hidden in the stance...impressive indeed, gozaru. ” a uniquely dressed crewmate who saw you practicing your swings clap at your demonstration. You remember Beidou calling him Kazuha, he seems to be impressed at your skills which are aged like fine wine. Your swings are less powerful and slower than before, but you still have your swordsmanship skills and techniques embedded in you.
“Yet you seem a bit… preoccupied. Is there something on your mind?”
You put your blade aside and lean on the railing of the ship, aimlessly tracing the waves that seem to chase after the ship, “I’m not sure what to say when I see him again.”
What should you say when you see Zhongli? Long time no see? I was fired by the Tsarista herself, so I came back? Everything just sounds incredibly wrong.
“There’s a lot of things I want to say, but I also don’t know what to tell him.”
The tingling excitement in you clashes with the anxiousness, uncertain of how to face Zhongli. You were once an adeptus of Liyue, then the twelve harbinger of the Fatui, and now… you lost both titles. You even lost your adeptal powers, could you even consider yourself an adeptus now? How would Zhongli respond when he hears all of this? You sigh, wishing the ship would give you more time for mental preparation before reaching Liyue.
“I’m sure that your feelings, just like the wind, will surely properly reach them. What’s important is that you convey them before everything’s too late.” Kazuha gazes distantly into the ocean. You overlook the lingering loneliness in his last sentence, deciding you’re not in the position to pry into it and put your focus onto the gentle rocking of the sea instead.
.
.
.
Zhongli paces back and forth continuously by the harbour, rubbing his fingers apprehensively with a stern expression on his face which made even Hutao, who was passing by the harbour, not dare to sneak up and pull a prank on him.
Zhongli, usually a calm and reserved man, well liked by people, now shooting up and flinching at the slightest noise of a ship’s horn and looking around with uneasiness, seemingly searching for something, received confused looks from passersby.
Zhongli, who received a letter not long ago, delivered in a hurry by one of Childe’s subordinates, spit his pu-erh tea out when he read the contents. The letter was short, with messy and almost unreadable handwriting which seemed to be written in a rush, and only included a very brief idea of what happened in Snezhnaya, something about you getting exiled and hurt, now returning to Liyue on Crux, telling him to wait at the harbour for Crux and to get you home safe.
That letter gave him no further useful information at all on your safety, or whatever craziness happened to you, which nowhere reassures him. He fumbles with the letter until it’s all crumbled and wrinkly, as if it would speed up Crux’s arrival.
The blast of a ship’s horn grabs his attention, eyes widen at the long awaited sight of the majestic ship.
Zhongli spots you effortlessly among the crewmates, mouth slightly parting as his golden amber eyes lock onto yours. You watch as his ponytail dances freely in the wind, his diamond pupils containing mixed swirls of emotions.
Suddenly, you feel like a guilty child who secretly ate candy before dinnertime and turned your head away at lightning speed as you waited for Beidou to park her ship by the docks.
“Excuse me.” Zhongli hurriedly makes his way to where you are, scuffling across the harbour and pushing the offboarding crewmates aside. He needs to confirm that you’re okay. He halts just before the boarding plank, your figure located at the other end of it, standing slightly above him. A wave of intense relief rushed up his head making his vision spin for a second. You’re alright, you’re safe.
“Zhongli,” the worries you held dissipate upon the presence of him, your quiet voice reaching his ears without getting carried away by the wind.
Time is never enough, everytime he sees you, he is reminded of this saying. Never enough time to make amendments, never enough time to love his children and his people the way they deserved it. Time is never enough, but for you, he’ll always make time, as long as he still has the chance to do so, as long as you’re still here, alive and well.
Zhongli is not a man of many desires. The waves brought you back to Liyue, to him. What more to that would he ask for? He has all the time for you.
“I’m back, Morax.” You muster up the courage and break the silence, your words concise and firm. Morax, the name you liked most, also the one you’re most familiar with. You take a step forward, so does he.
“Yes, my child,”A soft smile gently spreads across Zhongli’s face, one that radiates warmth and relief. “Welcome back.”
Zhongli takes another step, his arm reaching out to you and the gloved palms spread open right before you, awaiting.
“Let’s go home.”
This time, without reluctance, you respond by taking up his offered hand.
You’re home.

Hii ! May i ask for hdcs where Yaoyorozu invites the class to an event organized by her family, a kind of gala or ball, so she won't be alone, and she sees her crush (Femreader) coming in a suit. Her reaction (reader doesn't realize she's a flirt). Thank you !
I misread this to think that you're the flirt, but that's okay because I don't think flirtatiousness makes sense for Yaoyorozu's character.
(She's a virgo...)
Please ma'am take these two pining nerd lesbians in this trying time.
Tumblr media
"Was this a mistake?" You whispered to Mina.
"Why would this be a mistake?"
"I feel so weird being here." You answered, fiddling with your cuff links to avoid making eye contact with any number of the wealthy strangers that surrounded you.
"It's a birthday party." She rolled her eyes.
"I've never been to a birthday party like this before, have you-"
"Look, there's Sero!
Your friend grabbed you by the wrist and pulled you to a small table where Sero and Kaminari were talking with Jirou. (Or rather where Kaminari was hitting on her while Sero laughed at how he had no game.) When you locked eyes with him, he pointed to Kaminari and made a gagging gesture.
"Let her breathe, Denki." You joked, grabbing him by his shirt collar and pulling him back. Your friends laughed as you pulled up a chair between the two of them.
"Where's Yaomomo?" Your best friend asked, fiddling with the tufts of pink hair around her horns while staring at herself in the reflection of a spoon.
"Her mom called her away for something a while ago. Said she'd be back soon." Jirou answered, shrugging her shoulders. "You can go look for her if you want. Mrs. Yaoyorozu said the house was ours to explore."
You only half paid attention to the conversation between the two of them as you idly chatted with Sero.
"What's with your face?" He asks in between bites of the snack food on the table.
"You know just what to say to make a woman swoon." You answered. Kaminari laughed, jabbing him in the ribs playfully.
"No, I mean why do you look like you just walked in on your parents having sex or something?"
"Well that's an image I won't be able to get out of my head, thanks." You retorted, but Sero still waited for your answer with raised eyebrows. You sighed before continuing. "I hate that I know what you mean by that, by the way- No, it's Yaoyorozu."
"She said she'd be back in a little bit."
"No not where is she. More like-" You trailed off, waiting for her to finish.
"Is this about the sexual tension between the two of you?"
"What sexual tension?"
"The sexual tension in how you're fighting each other to be top of the class." Kaminari interjected. "You think that smug grin she gave you when she got a higher grade than you on that last test was friendly?"
"I thought it was intended to be malicious." You admitted.
"No, no-" Sero adds, pausing to steal a bite of Kaminari's food while his attention was focused on you. "-I totally think she wants to top you." Your eyes widened at his admittance. "But that's just a hunch."
"Really?"
"After all this time that you've been flirting with her? What did you think that she hated you?" At your lack of response, both boys started laughing. "Are you fucking serious?" You leaned over to jab your elbow into Kaminari's ribs.
"What did I miss?"
All three of you bolted up at the question. Your eyes scanned how gorgeous she looked in her dress with her hair down before locking with Yaoyorozu, and it appeared she did the same because you both blushed instantaneously. After witnessing the brief interaction, Kaminari begins to laugh again but is silenced by Jirou pinching his arm under the table.
"Nothing important." He answered through grit teeth. Satisfied with the answer, Jirou let go of his skin. "Ow."
Sero stands to offer Yaoyorozu his seat, shooting you the widest shit-eating grin he could manage as she sat next to you.
"Happy birthday, Yaoyorozu." You spoke to her as she made herself comfortable beside you.
"Thank you, (Y/N)." After a moment of silence between the two of you she speaks again. "I'm glad you came." She added earnestly.
"Thank you for inviting me." After another pause, you added "You look absolutely gorgeous, by the way." For the first time since your eyes first met, you allowed yourself to properly look at her. Her eyes averted yours as she worked to conceal the rose in her cheeks. You placed your chin in your palm with a small smirk.
"As do you." She added meekly. "You seemed a bit unsure of yourself when you walked in, but I hope you know that I'm very glad to have you here." Her words were soft spoken but reassuring, managing to look at you for just long enough to offer you a kind smile.
"So you were watching me?" You chuckled. Her face flushes even deeper. You watched as she struggled to keep it from you, seemingly interested in everything surrounding her except for you. "Can't get enough of me? I don't blame you. I am top of my class you know." You joked. She playfully swatted your shoulder, then lingered her touch there a moment longer. Across the table, Sero laughed silently and shot you a thumbs up.
"Um-" She starts, before being taken by the swelling of music. "Actually would you care to dance with me?"
"I'd love to."
She took your hand and laced her fingers in yours, allowing you to lead the way. Out of the corner of your eye, you notice Jirou slap Kaminari on the shoulder and point to the two of you leaving the table. Before he had a chance to think, she grabbed him by the wrist and followed you.
"Apologies for them," Yaoyorozu spoke shamefully as you placed her hands on your shoulders. "She's my best friend, but she she has an awful habit of eavesdropping on my conversations with you."
You wrapped your hands around your waist, leading her around the room in relative silence. As the song comes to a close, she leans closer and whispers "Do you want to make a break for it?"
"Hm?" You ask. She subtly points her head to a hallway at the other end of the room with a smile. You'd never seen this side of her before, but you'd be lying if you said you weren't loving it. You smile back at her, and that's all the answer Momo needs.
"Ready?" She asked softly. You watched her take one last glance at Kaminari and Jirou, still trying subtly to watch the two of you. "Go!"
She grabbed you by the hand with one hand, lifting up the material of her skirt with the other. You drifted around various partygoers, hoping to slip out of sight of your friends. She pulled you into the massive corridor at the other end of the hall, and up the first set of stairs. It was only then that she stopped running. She spends a few moments to catch her breath. "Come with me." Her hand was still firmly grasping yours, leading you through the long and winding corridors of her home.
You're taken to a window at the end of a corridor, where Momo pushes aside the lavish set of drapes, revealing it to be a set of glass doors. Never once releasing your hand from her grasp, she opens the doors and pulls you on to the balcony with her, drawing the drapes and closing the door behind her. It was almost impressive watching her do this all with one hand. It was only then that she let go of yours. "Thank you. I needed to get away for a while." You said nothing, but smiled at her. She leans against the railing, looking up at the night sky like she's looking for something. You join her, resting yourself against the railing with your shoulder touching hers. "Are you familiar with astronomy."
"A bit." You answered. You point to a chain of stars, and Momo's eyes follow your hand with interest. "The constellation Cygnus is right there. That star at the tail of the swan is called Deneb. I think it's the 19th or 20th brightest star in the night sky." She lets out an interested hum. Your point moves to another part of the night sky. "Delphinus." Momo looks at you, eager to hear more. "It's a dolphin." You state awkwardly after a while.
You both laugh naturally. Her hand comes to rest on yours, stroking soothing circles into the palm of your hand. All this time you had assumed that she hated you seemed to drift into the sea as she eagerly listened to you point out features of the night sky. "Venus. You can tell that it's a planet and not a star because it doesn't twinkle."
"Why don't planets twinkle?" She asked eagerly.
"Because they're too close to us. Stars are millions of light-years away but Venus is our nextdoor neighbor. It's actually the brightest object in the night sky because it has a thick atmosphere of white clouds."
"And why does that make it so bright?"
"Since the clouds are so thick and white, just about all of the light from the sun reflects off of it. And that's why you can even see Venus in the day sometimes."
Maybe she didn't know everything. You had assumed she did based her quirk and her grades. But Yaoyorozu was just a girl. A very smart one at that but just a girl. You certainly didn't know everything.
How strange it was to think that of all the people she could have asked to join her in her escape from the crowd of her birthday party, she chose you. "I thought you hated me." You said, not realizing that you had voiced that thought out loud until it was too late.
"That's funny." She admitted to you. "I always assumed you hated me. I invited you by total chance, hoping that you'd come. And I'm glad you did. You've been great company." You both silently decided to leave it there, choosing to take in the sounds of the night in silence before heading back inside.
"Oh!" You perked your head up. "Is now a bad time to give you your birthday present?"
"You didn't have to get me anything-"
"I know but I wasn't not going to. But what do you get the girl that's got everything, right?" You snuck into the coat closet just outside the foyer, grabbing your bag from one of the hooks. "Do you remember when we went on that class beach trip and you wanted the stuffed cow in the claw machine on the pier but you couldn't win it?"
"Yeah."
"Well I remembered that you wanted it so Kaminari and I went back to get it for you!" You responded enthusiastically!
"You're kidding."
You shook your head no, pulling the plush out of your bag to prove it. With a grin, you extended your arms to offer it to her. "How? I thought it was broken. The claw wouldn't close."
"Oh, no, it still was." You admitted. "I asked Kaminari to fry the machine so I could reach my arm in there with a coat hanger and pull it out." She laughed. It was the sweetest sound you think you've ever heard. "Worked like a charm."
"Did it?"
"Yeah. We're never allowed back to that arcade again but I think it was worth it."
Momo pulled you by your lapels closer to her and pulled you into a tight hug. The feeling of her embrace felt so warm and familiar. Neither of you wanted to be the first to let go. After a moment she speaks.
"I love it. Thank you."
"Happy birthday." You said once again, punctuating it with a soft kiss to her temple.

Cas using Enochian pick-up lines on oblivious Dean. Dean doesn't get them, Cas feels rejected each time, and Sammy is done with it all! Can I have that fic, pretty please?
ah, this has been sitting here for a WHILE, so i’m sorry that i’m trash
lost in translation
---
It begins when Dean is pathetically trying to impress his crush.
Or at least that would be Sam’s take, if Dean cared enough to ask him.
Dean would rather say that it began with a simple misunderstanding, one which could happen to anyone.
He doesn’t ask Cas’ opinion of the situation (and Cas would say that’s the whole crux of the problem).
Whoever has the correct perspective, no one would argue about the beginning of the affair. It starts one afternoon when Dean is contemplating switching Sam’s creamer with buttermilk, just for a break in the monotony. Cas is with him in the library, his customary suit and coat exchanged for a hoodie and a comfortable looking pair of jeans which Dean suspects used to belong to him (there’s something vaguely familiar about that hole in the knee, and it wouldn’t be the first time Cas has pilfered his room for clothing; several of Dean’s shirts have ended up upon the angel’s body. Cas always seems perplexed when Dean calls him on his thievery, plucking at the shirt with faint confusion--Oh this? I found this down in the laundry room a few days ago and thought it looked familiar, do you want it back? And the question is phrased so forlornly that Dean can’t help but allow Cas to steal another article of clothing out from under his very nose.). Cas dresses down these days. And slouches. Right now, his chin is in danger of disappearing into his chest. The sight delights Dean. There for a while, he hadn’t been sure Cas was capable of relaxing.
It’s an overwhelmingly quiet afternoon. It’s nice, because Dean loves to spend time with Cas when there’s no imminent blood or monsters on their horizons, but it’s also boring. Dean sneaks a glance at Cas over the top of his book. Cas seems perfectly content to sit all day reading some godawful thick, leather bound tome. Dean finds himself less than content, but he doesn’t want to leave Cas. He sighs, shifting in his seat as he pretends to read. After a few more minutes, he sighs again, this time with a little more spite in the sound.
(Dean’s about three seconds away from kicking his feet and whining I’m bored, but Cas doesn’t need to know that.)
Cas mutters under his breath. Dean recognizes the guttural syllables of Enochian, which is Cas’ go-to language for when he’s saying something hateful and he doesn’t want to get called out on it. Tough luck for him, though, because Dean’s heard one of those words enough to parse its meaning.
“Did you just call me stupid?” he demands, slapping his book down on the arm of the chair.
Castiel looks at him, his eyes wide with surprise. “You...understood that?” he asks. “You understand Enochian?”
Not in the slightest, is what Dean should say. He understands one word, and that’s only because Cas uses it enough as an insult that it managed to stick in his mind. But something that looks like fondness, and admiration, and other nice adjectives which Dean would like Cas to apply to him, shines at the edges of Cas’ eyes. So he rolls his eyes a little bit (the audacity of Cas! Asking him if he bothered to study something which was not strictly required!) and scoffs, “Uh, kind of hard not to at this point, you know, what with...” He waves his hand at Cas, hoping that the vagueness of the gesture will cover a multitude of sins.
And really, he should come clean. If the past fifteen years have taught him anything, it’s that nothing good comes from lying to your nearest and dearest. But this is just a little white lie. Like when he was sixteen and he told Brandy Fletcher he could play a rocking drum solo, because he wanted to impress her and there was no way he would ever be called upon to perform such a task. This is just a little fib, made so that Cas doesn’t think he’s a fucking idiot.
Plus, there’s something which looks horribly similar to gratitude shining in Cas’ eyes. The emotion brims over until those baby blues can hardly contain it, and Cas looks so goddamned happy. Dean’s not a monster. He’s not going to take that away from Cas just so he can come clean with a Gotcha! moment.
Cas bites at his lower lip, looking uncommonly shy. Worry starts to stir in Dean’s gut, which is only compounded when Cas says something else in soft yet clear Enochian. As the new phrase doesn’t have the word stupid anywhere in it, Dean doesn’t have the slightest idea of what Cas is saying. The guilt squirming in his stomach gets worse when Cas looks at him, with gentle anticipation, as though he’s expecting a reply. Dean does what humans have been doing since the beginning of time when confronted with a language they don’t understand and smiles, wide and sunny, at Cas. Cas’ forehead creases but he returns the gesture. His eyes are still brimming over with emotion and the sight does something to Dean.
Dean begins to suspect that he may have started something which he is not equipped to finish.
---
After that, things get a little weird. Considering Dean’s general life, that’s saying something.
Dean catches Cas looking at him more, like Cas is having a one-man staring contest with the side of his face. Cas staring at him is nothing to write home about, but his looks have gained new intensity. It makes Dean’s innards squirm with worry as well as something deeper. He’s not willing to examine that feeling any closer, though it is pleasant.
As if the soulful looks weren’t bad enough, there’s also the thoughtful slant of Cas’ eyes to worry about. Every time he looks at Dean, he looks like he’s working himself up to something momentous. Since momentous decrees from Cas usually come hand in hand with world-ending events and revelations, Dean thinks he can forgiven for dodging Cas’ presence.
It does him no good: the bunker, for all its space, is only so large in the end, and Cas was once a heavenly messenger who has the patience of millennia. Add that to the fact that Dean needs to eat at least twice a day, and the game of Cornering Dean becomes a game of cards, in which the deck is stacked firmly in Cas’ favor.
Dean sneaks into the kitchen sometime between midnight and two am. If Sam caught him, then he would get a talking-to about the most appropriate times to eat, better digestive function, and the ravages of heartburn in a man his age, but it’s not his brother sitting at the table when Dean flicks on the light.
It’s Cas, who blinks owlishly at him, before his face splits into his brightest smile.
(Cas’ brightest smile is an awkward, crooked little thing. On a regular human being it would be considered unbecoming. On Cas, it’s a thing of glory.)
“Dean,” Cas greets him. Hearing his voice in that low, rough voice never fails to send a little shiver down his spine, and today is no different. “This is an odd time for a snack.”
“Yeah,” Dean says, a little lamely. The shock of finding Cas in the kitchen has kind of killed his appetite, but it’s not like he can turn around and leave. “Just, you know, had a craving. Why were you here?”
Cas looks around the kitchen, his mouth pursed. “I like it here. It’s peaceful.”
Dean looks at him, waiting for the punchline. “You were sitting in the dark, dude.”
“Oh. Well, I don’t need lights to see in the dark,” Cas says, as though the knowledge that his best friend has some freaky see in the dark cat eye nonsense going on with him isn’t the weirdest thing Dean’s heard all day.
“Great.” Dean opens the fridge and pulls out a container at random. He spares one second to hope that Sam got rid of all the moldy food before he samples the contents. “Well, I think I’m going back to my room now.”
He wants to get out of here, not so much because he doesn’t want to talk to Cas (he has no problem with late-night chats with Cas, it’s just that he would prefer such chats take place in his room, preferably in his bed, preferably while both participants were significantly less dressed), but because Cas is starting to get that look again, like he’s getting ready to drop an atomic bomb’s worth of shit on Dean in the middle of the kitchen.
“Dean.” Cas stands up. He twists his fingers together before he realizes what he’s doing, and then places them flat against his thighs. He takes a deep breath. Before Dean can stop him, Cas opens his mouth.
Low, rolling syllables flow through the kitchen, the harsh notations of Enochian softened by Cas’ voice. There’s a question in Cas’ eyes, and Dean would answer it, if he only knew what Cas was asking.
The kitchen falls into silence. Dean gets the distinct impression that walking away is not the appropriate reaction. If only he knew what the appropriate reaction was.
He settles for plastering a fake ass smile on his face and loosing a brittle laugh which threatens to shatter the lighting fixtures. The corners of his mouth hurt from the wideness of his smile, but not even the small twinge of pain can take away from the brief flash of hurt in Cas’ eyes.
“Yeah. You bet.” Dean barely restrains himself from giving Cas a big thumbs up.
Cas’ face, if possible, turns even more disconsolate. Dean’s stomach twists at the sight.
This would be the correct moment to confess. Cas, I don’t have the faintest idea what you said, but I’d really like it if you could say it again in English, so that I could maybe comment on it. Sorry I’m such a jackass.
Dean does not confess. He reaches out and claps Cas on the shoulder, almost buckling Cas’ knees under the friendly contact. Dean almost stops, but he continues to his room, trying to erase the memory of Cas’ stricken face.
---
It gets worse.
Cas says something in Enochian to him the next morning, a tiny, hopeful smile darting across his face. Dean gives him a weak smile in return and tries not to focus on the longing, almost desperate tone of Cas’ voice. “Ok, Cas,” he says, when it becomes clear Cas is angling for something more than a smile that makes it look like he ate some bad tacos.
Cas takes him by the wrist. This time the syllables which come out of his mouth are almost frantic. His eyes are wide and imploring, and his voice cracks on the last word.
The truth, Dean. Tell him the truth.
“Look, I’m sorry, Cas,” Dean says. Confronted by the weight of his failings and his inadequacies, he flees. All the while, he feels Cas’ eyes on his back.
---
It gets worse.
Cas continues to mutter Enochian at him, alternating between frustrated, hurt, mocking, and pleading inflections. Each time, Dean looks at him in a mixture of helplessness and shame.
The last time Cas tries, there’s a faint snap and tingle of grace curling around the room. Dean can taste it in the air, ozone and electricity, before it makes the lamp closest to him spark and pop. “Great, now you’re killing the furniture,” comes out of his mouth before he can stop it.
Cas recoils as though Dean reached out and slapped him. He says something else in Enochian, his voice small and defeated. He won’t even look at Dean.
If Dean were a better person, he would come clean. He would apologize to Cas and beg his forgiveness. He would take Cas’ scorn and irritation and lump it in with the rest of the shit that’s gone wrong with his life, and they would move past this.
Dean’s not a good person. Hell, he’s not even an okay person. He’s a piece of shit who got a hell of a lot luckier than he ever deserved, and Cas is just naive enough not to realize that.
---
It gets worse.
Sam walks into the library one afternoon with a dazed look on his face which means he’s just emerged from being caught deep in a book. He runs his hands through his hair and only then seems to realize that Dean and Cas are sitting at opposite ends of the library, deliberately ignoring each other. The tension in the room is thick enough to cut.
“You guys okay?” he asks, glancing back and forth between them.
“We’re good,” Dean says shortly, flipping a page of his book with unneeded aggression.
Sam flicks his eyes towards Castiel. Cas looks over the top of his book, his eyebrows twisted in a scowl. He mutters something most definitely not English under his breath, staring at Dean.
Sam chokes on nothing.
“You all right there, Sammy?” Dean glances at Sam, only to see that his brother’s face is bright red.
“Yeah, I’m great.”
Castiel says something else in Enochian, sounding more forlorn than angry. Dean didn’t think it was possible for his brother’s eyes to get any wider. “Something you want to share with the rest of the class?” Dean asks. He keeps his eyes on Cas, but the question is meant for both of them.
“I think you two should really talk,” Sam says, looking back and forth between him and Cas. “I think you’re both missing some information.”
“What do you mean--” Dean pauses as the obvious answer comes to him. “Hold on. You can understand him?”
“Don’t talk about me like I’m not in the room,” Castiel says, proving that he can speak English just damn fine when he wants to. Then, because Cas is an asshole whose main job is torturing Dean, he mutters something in Enochian.
Sam snorts.
If he didn’t know he would later regret it, Dean would put both of them in the ground.
“Well, if you want someone to talk to you, then knock it off and speak English!” Dean snaps. “I’ve got no idea why you’re babbling on like that and looking like I kicked your puppy when I don’t answer.”
Cas scowls, the full wrath of Heaven in his eyes. He starts what sounds like it will no doubt be a lengthy tirade (in Enochian of fucking course), before he’s interrupted by Sam.
“Dean doesn’t understand Enochian, Cas!” he shouts.
Two pairs of eyes snap to Sam. Dean’s are filled with furious betrayal, Cas’ with frustrated confusion. Sam ignores them both, rolling his own eyes to the ceiling. “Yeah, look, I’m sorry to cut in your drama or whatever, and I’m sure that you two could keep this up for another three weeks, but I value my sanity. Dean, nut up and tell Cas you don’t speak Enochian. Cas, stop running into a brick wall and tell him what you want. I mean, good God, it’s like I have to do everything around here myself!”
Sam’s complaining never ceases as he peruses the shelves for the particular book he’s looking for. Both Dean and Cas are referred to multiple times as idiots, sometimes assholes, and once even idjits. Throughout his litany of abuse, Dean and Castiel refuse to look at each other, though Dean does feel a telltale prickling at the back of his neck several times. Every time he looks at Cas, however, the angel has his eyes firmly fixed on his book.
Dean wonders if Cas would get more pissed if he told him his book was upside down.
“You ever think about how much pain and agony you could save me if you two assholes would just talk to each other?” Sam finally snaps. Arms laden with books, he levels a fearsome glare at the both of them. “For homework, neither of you are coming out of this library until you’ve actually talked to each other like rational adults. And if you make any weird noises, I’m going to smother both of you in your sleep.”
He stalks out of the library, leaving Cas and Dean alone once more. Cas looks up from his book, finally realizing it’s upside-down, while Dean puts down his own book. They stare at each other for a long moment, then speak at once.
“Why didn’t you tell me you didn’t understand Enochian?” “What were you trying to say to me?”
They stop. Dean swallows, gathers up all of his manly courage, and speaks.
“So what were you trying to say to me? It must have been pretty exciting to get Sammy clutching his pearls.”
Cas tilts his head. He considers Dean for a long moment before he crosses the space between them. Cas leans forward, putting his hands on the arms of Dean’s chair. The gesture boxes Dean in, a turn of events which Dean doesn’t struggle against.
“Why didn’t you tell me you didn’t speak Enochian?”
Pinned beneath Cas’ gaze, Dean squirms uncomfortably. Now that it’s just him and Cas, his deception seems childish. Would it really have been the end of the world if he’d told Cas he was too stupid and selfish to learn his language? It would have just been another disappointment in Cas’ life, but has it been worth these past few days of being at odds with Cas?
Heat flushes along the bridge of Dean’s nose as he mutters, “I wanted you to think I was smart.”
Damn super-angelic hearing. Cas doesn’t miss a beat, though his forehead creases. “You wanted...what? Dean, you are smart.”
He says it so naturally, as though Dean doesn’t struggle over translations or speaking Latin or cross-referencing indexes or any of the thousand other things that seem to come naturally as breathing to Sam and Cas. “Yeah, sure, I’m a regular fucking genius,” Dean mumbles.
“You’re capable of finding the problem with a faulty engine with a single look. You built your own EMF meter out of a spare Walkman. Despite your efforts to hide it, you’re very well-read, and you have an innate understanding of some fairly complicated mathematics. I’m not sure exactly what humans qualify as intelligent, but I feel as though all of those skills count.”
Dean knows his whole face is red. Heat prickles along the tips of his ears and down his neck. “Jesus, Cas,” he mutters. Unable to withstand the force of those blue eyes, he darts his glance down towards the floor. “Most people don’t start sweet talking until the third date.”
“Well, I’m an angel,” Castiel says, smugly, as though that solves every argument (not a bad strategy; that line’s worked for Cas for years. What else can you say after that?).
“All right, I answered yours, now you answer mine. What were you trying to say to me?”
Amazingly, Cas’ cheeks color.
“Come on, Cas,” Dean wheedles, when Cas doesn’t immediately answer. “I told you mine.”
Cas looks off to the side. He actually shuffles his feet before he answers, “It was just a thought. I thought, maybe, we could...Never mind. It was stupid.” He looks back at Dean and rolls his eyes, showing how ridiculous he finds this whole trial. “I guess, roughly translated, it would amount of something like ‘If only he were as decisive as he is pretty, then there would be no problem’.” He forces a weak laugh. “I said it in the heat of the moment. I was frustrated.”
Dean blinks in astonishment. Only one fact has managed to slip through the tangle of Cas’s words. “You think I’m pretty?”
Castiel’s blush deepens. “Anyone who has eyes would think that,” he says, a little roughly.
An automatic flush spreads across Dean’s cheeks, but he’s able to ignore that. He’s much more interested in what else Cas might have been telling him. “And what was something else you said?”
Cas coughs. “’Your eyes are bright as the sunrise, yet they fail to see what is in front of them’,” he says. If possible, his already rough voice has deepened.
“Another.”
Cas doesn’t pretend coyness. “’You had my heart from the first time I saw your soul’,” he says, in a near whisper.
Dean can’t hold himself back. He snatches Cas’ hoodie in his hands and drags Cas down to his level. Cas lets out a surprised grunt before he gracefully collapses atop Dean. He’s barely managed to balance himself on Dean’s lap before Dean’s lip are on his.
Despite Dean’s rushed actions, the kiss is sweet and almost chaste. Cas’ lips are warm and chapped and utterly wonderful. At first, they’re stiff, but only for a second. Then Cas relaxes into the kiss, sighing happily as his hand cups Dean’s cheek. Cas’ stubble scratches against his chin. He’s going to bear the marks of Cas’ affection later, and he couldn’t be more thrilled about it.
Cas parts from him, but not far. In fact, he’s close enough to Dean that when whispers a phrase in Enochian, his lips brush against Dean’s.
A shiver of delight runs down Dean’s spine. Now that he knows the gist of what Cas was trying to say to him, Enochian fills him with illicit glee. “What did that mean?”
Cas kisses him again, adding a cunning sweep of his tongue across the seam of Dean’s lips. “’Of all the stars in the heavens, you shine the brightest’,” he translates, resting his forehead against Dean’s.
Heat floods through Dean once more. It’s everything he ever dreamed of hearing. It seems impossible that he could have it. There should be a rule against it. Dean Winchester doesn’t get what he wants.
Except, apparently, Dean Winchester does get what he wants, as evidenced by his lapful of angel murmuring Enochian endearments into his ear. “Hey Cas?” Dean tilts his head to catch Cas’ eye. “When I first saw you, sparks flew. How would you say that in Enochian?”
Cas thinks for a second before a smile spreads across his face. “I’ll teach you,” he promises, before he pulls Dean’s face towards him once more.
(Sam’s warning about making weird noises makes a lot more sense now.)

CHAPTER TEN
Just like last time he was here, Bucky grabbed some cereal box, poured the contents on a bowl followed by a tall glass of milk dumped over, making a mess on the kitchen island like a ten-year-old kid. You just finished changing into some new clothes when he finished pouring the milk in the bowl.
You followed into the kitchen, pouring yourself a hot cup of coffee from Peter's new coffee maker he got just two weeks ago and cleaned the mess that Bucky had left.
"How is it," you started just as he was about to walk out, "that you can flawlessly make a drink without making a huge mess but not with a cereal?"
He plopped down on the couch and placed his feet on the coffee table and turned on the television. He shrugged in response, eating a mouthful. "I was just trying to impress you. You're Peter's best friend. I want you to like me."
You just hummed and sat down on the love seat as soon as you finished, lifting your knee to your chest and letting the warm liquid slide at the back of your throat, letting the caffeine sit in me. You gave him no response as you didn't know what else to tell him. You just gazed at him, watching him like a hawk, as he continued to take a mouthful.
But you weren't staring at him like you did before. You were, somehow, trying to read his mind because the person sitting right now on your couch felt and looked so much different from the person who kept giving you lingering stares at the bar. One moment he was complimenting your photos, and the next your face. It felt like there were two of him and you didn't know which one attracted you more.
No one had ever looked at your photos the way he did. No one had ever talked about your photos the way he did. And no one had ever succeeded in getting a sudden yet fleeting internal reaction from you by calling you "doll."
"It's rude to stare, doll."
Except Bucky.
You apologized, and averted your gaze from him towards the television screen which showed the news channel. You took a huge sip of your coffee and ignored the searing pain of the hot liquid on the roof of your mouth. That's gonna leave a mark.
You hibernated inside your room for the next few hours, watching some sitcom on your laptop. You would hear Bucky yelling at the television screen from time to time or into his phone. Some names unfamiliar to you were mentioned. You hated the feeling of isolating yourself from the world but here you were, cocooning because you didn't know how else to be around Bucky after what happened that one night.
Plus, it felt like you were a child stuck with your babysitter.
He would knock on your door, check up on you, ask you if you needed some snacks, or if you wanted to do anything else besides locking yourself up in your room. The last time he called out for you, he was asking you to lunch, to the little Italian place across the building. Starving, you agreed to come with him only if he paid.
He just shook his head with a smile on his face. "I feel like you're taking advantage of me."
"I am." You said, locking the apartment door behind. "It's not like everyday I'm out with a rich guy."
"You gotta stop calling me that. I'm not rich rich."
"Compared to me, Buck," you said, "you are. Come on, let's go, I'm starving."
Just as you anticipated, Marco was beaming at you two once you entered his place, clearing a way for you, parting the customers like Moses did with the Red Sea. He pulled out two chairs for you and Bucky. Marco, as you assumed, was more than happy to see Bucky and more of his money. Bucky shook hands with Marco, thanking him.
Once you ordered, you turned towards Bucky who was busy looking at the photos of the gorgeous places in Italy on the walls. There was a bridge of silence between you as you continued to stare at him, still trying to read him. He may be an open book but it felt like his pages were complete blanks. Pages that were deep, far away from the cover, hidden and hoping to never see the light of day.
"Hey, Bucky?" you said, grabbing his attention. "What did you mean that night? When you told me I was something else? And please, don't give me one of those 'you're not like most girls' crap." You gave a snort of disgust.
He chuckled, biting the inner part of his lower lip before speaking. "I wasn't, anyway. You just intrigue me, that's all."
You subtly glance at him. "I intrigue you?"
"Yes, honestly you do. And you're fun to be with. It's not everyday someone agrees with me to scare off a one night stand the first day we meet." He laughed. "And I would like to get to know you better. And not just here."
You knitted your brows together in utter confusion. "Wait, what do you mean not just here?"
He shrugged, his eyes leaving yours and looked at somewhere else besides you. "Like outside."
"Like outside?" You repeated, the realization dawning on you. "Bucky, are you asking me out on a date?"
Bucky lifted his head and proceeded to look at the spotty ceiling, his lips curved downward. "If you want it to be."
You chuckled, shaking your head. "I don't think it's a good idea."
Then, he shot his head towards you, an agonizing frown marring his perfectly chiseled face. "Why not?"
You could think of many reasons why it would be a bad idea. First, you haven't been on a date for a very long time. Every person who had asked you out never had the luck of receiving a good answer from you. Second, Bucky was a complicated man.
And third, it would feel like betraying Peter.
"You're Peter's stepbrother." You sighed, defeated. "I can't do that to him."
"Right. Peter."
Marco came just about damn time to give you your newly-cooked food. Bucky ordered the same thing he got last time he was here: an Aglio Oglio pasta, paired with two large slices of pizza and garlic bread while you got a footlong Italian sub dripping with Marco's secret family sauce he never dared reveal. Marco said something in Italian before going back to the counter to tend to other customers.
Bucky smiled at you before you started digging in and began to speak. "How about this? Just two friends hanging out, not in the apartment, not here, not even at the bar, and getting to know one another. No funny business. Just like this. How does that sound?"
"As long as you promise not to give me those weird creepy stares you've been giving me since last night."
"Please, you also couldn't keep your eyes off me." He rolled his eyes. "Plus, I do have to admit you do look hot making drinks." He scrunched up his nose, taking a bite of his pizza without his eyes leaving yours.
A wave of confidence surged right through you, prompting you to ask this next question: "Did the whole cleavage thing push things?" You winked.
Bucky tilted his head to the side, just like he did this morning in the apartment, swallowing his food. "I'm not gonna lie, doll, that was also pretty hot."
"You should thank my friend Nat for that then."
He smirked. "I'll be sure to. So, uh, are you in?"
"What kind of question is that?"
"Well, I don't know how you kids these days ask things. Is it like that? I feel like it is."
You rolled your eyes, chucking a piece of garlic bread to his face. "I'm not a kid. By the way, how old are you?"
"I'm turning thirty-nine next month."
"Thirty-nine." You repeated. "Wow, if we were to go on a date, you'd be the oldest guy I've dated."
"Well, I'd be honored."
After your little lunch, Bucky went back to his office in his penthouse to deal with a few things with his associates while you, on the other hand, headed to the bar and started to fix all the stuff accordingly. A few hours later, Nick and Nat silently creeped up behind you, scaring the shit out of you and nearly making you drop the bottle of whiskey you were holding. You scolded both of them which they just, in turn, shrugged off.
You pulled Nat into one of the booths, making sure you were out of Nick's sight and wouldn't be able to hear you.
"Bucky kind of asked me out on a date." You whispered.
"Holy shit, I knew it. I knew he has the hots for you!" She said with a voice louder than you would've liked.
"Sshh, keep your voice down! I don't want Nick to hear this."
"Oh right, 'cause of the whole thing."
"Yes." You replied. "So anyway, I told Bucky it wouldn't be a good idea because it feels like I'm betraying Parker."
"He's just his stepbrother. Honey, you wouldn't be betraying anyone at all."
"But Parker's my best friend -- "
"Exactly." Nat's eyes bore into yours. "He's just your best friend, not your boyfriend so go date whoever you want to date. Just not Nick. He's kind of a loser."
"Isn't there some kind of code?"
"Like a bro code?"
"Yes, something like that."
"Did you and Peter have an agreement that you shouldn't date his stepbrother?"
You shook your head no.
"Then it's okay."
"Isn't dating your friend's siblings a part of some unspoken rule?"
She rolled her eyes at you, obviously fed up with all the excuses you have been trying to make. "As long as you're not hurting anyone then it's fine."
An exasperated sigh came out of your mouth. "Well, Bucky seemed to kind of agree to it, so what was supposed to be a date turned into just friends hanging out and getting to know each other. His words, not mine."
"Right, and once you get to know each other, you two can go on expensive dates and such."
"I don't know, it doesn't feel right."
"Now, now, don't be too sudden with that thought. Deep down you kind of want this to happen. If you didn't, you wouldn't be having second thoughts about this."
Oh, what you would give to prove Nat wrong but there was nothing else you could give because you knew she was right. You were fleetingly staring at Bucky as much as he did with you. And right from the get-go, there was spontaneity which opened up a whole new thrill in you. Something you never thought you'd ever feel.
The rest of the night felt excruciatingly slow.
There were some familiar faces in the crowd and some unfamiliar ones brought in by the regulars, having fun on Saturday night. While you were taking orders and making drinks left and right, your eyes kept roaming in the nameless faces inside the bar, hoping to see Bucky but your hopes were crushed when you found no sign of him. You were forced to take your mind off him for once as you were flooded with more orders, and complicated drinks that weren't on the menu. In the middle of your shift, there was even a small argument between a college student and a man in his thirties at the pool table. Eventually, the man, assaulting the poor boy, got kicked out of the house by Steve which was just a piece of cake with all the muscles he was packing.
Steve approached you with a stern look on his face. "If you see that guy again, don't let him in anymore alright? I don't want any fights in my bar."
"Got it." You said, taking note of the man's face from earlier. You warned the other bartenders beside you and the waitresses going around. You sighed, thinking to all the times you've told Steve to hire bouncers for the place but he just said:
"What do you need bouncers for when I'm here?"
And it was kind of hard to argue with that because it did make sense. The only problem was he was always cooped up in that small office of his. You never bothered to learn the secrets he was keeping in there. He couldn't always be doing work stuff. But after a few weeks of working with him, it was best to let those things slide as he was your boss.
Once your shift ended, you texted Bucky where he was but you never got a reply. You exchanged numbers right before he went back to the White Wolf.
You were greeted by an unlocked apartment once you got there but there was no sign of Bucky.
"Bucky?" You called out his name as you removed your jacket and placed it on the coat rack just beside the door. "Are you here?"
Silence answered you back. You went into your room and changed your shirt into something a bit more comfortable: an oversized sweater. A few seconds after you changed, you received a message from Bucky telling you to go to the rooftop.
You immediately went up, the chilly New York air touching your cheeks. You emerged from the ladder with a bewildered look crossing your face. The once grimy floor of the rooftop was perfectly cleaned up, leaving no dust and dirt behind. There were two large crates in the middle, big enough for two people to sit on. On top of the crate were a large box of pizza (you assumed it was from Marco's), and two bottles of ice cold beer.
"What on earth?" You gasped, finding Bucky emerging from behind a big box just casually standing against the brick walls.
"Hey, doll." He greeted you with a cheeky smile.
You stepped towards him, enveloping yourself in a hug in an attempt to warm yourself up against the cool air. "Did you clean our rooftop?"
"I may or may not have. Who knows? Anyway, I got us some pizza. I figured you were hungry from your late shift."
As a matter of fact, you really were. Drained from the endless orders and demands, you usually didn't have the time to sneak a bite of food or even a sip of water.
"I got the pizza from Marco's. He's a really nice man and was more than glad to see me when I stopped by."
"Of course he was." you laughed, sitting down on one of the crates. You opened the box, your mouth already drooling from the sight of Marco's mouth-watering pizza. "He likes the dough. Ha! Get it?"
He rolled his eyes at you but with a hint of a small smile in his lips as joined you on the crates. "So, are you gonna spend the night in the apartment?" You asked.
"Yes."
"What, got another girl back in the penthouse?" You teased, nudging his shoulder.
He gave you a throaty, sarcastic laugh. "This time, no."
"Too bad. I was ready to give a performance of a lifetime." You chuckled, glancing at him sideways and catching him with a big smile on his face.
You looked around you. The only source of light you had was the city lights towering above, and ahead of you. "You know," you started, "if you hung those little lights on the walls or just above us, this would seem like a date."
He pretended to wipe some sweat off his forehead. "Phew, dodged a bullet over there huh?"
You giggled, tipping the cap off the ice cold light beer and bringing the top of the bottle to your mouth. The liquid felt cold in your mouth but soon warmed up, nestling inside your stomach.
"This is nice." you commented then started to ramble on some more. "It'd be nicer to see New York during sunset though. Ever since I got the night shift in the bar, I rarely do. It's all the traffic and bright city lights."
You painted Bucky a picture of the last sunset you've watched. You had no recalling memory when it was but you remembered it as another cold day (but not as cold as tonight). The colorful sunset hues plastered in the high skies. Seeing it from the rooftop felt like they could easily be reached, as if they were wanting to be touched. And without a warning, the sun started to go down millisecond by millisecond.
"To others, what happens after a sunset is just another sign of the darkness to come. And then poof, city lights." you continued, then proceeded to gesture at the sky. "But for me, the feeling after a sunset is what I love the most. The sun wallowed in serenity in the pale break of light in between those dark clouds forming. Ugh, I just love that."
"I see what you mean." Bucky hummed, withdrawing his eyes to the sky to look at you. "It's like an afterglow."
"Yes, like an afterglow." You agreed, meeting his intense gaze. "If seeing something so beautiful makes you feel good then the after of it all must be... more pleasurable."
"A lot of people tend to miss that detail after sunset." He replied. "But not you. You're a photographer, y/n. The details in nature, in people are some things you can never miss."
You just hummed in response, taking a huge sip of your beer. " So, when did your love for photography start?" Bucky asked.
"It started when I was young." You replied. "I would play around with my parents' digital cameras, take photos of literally everything around me, especially when we were on vacation. It was just a hobby then. I never thought of it as a means of living until I was in college. God, I hated business school. Every second of it. I just did it to make my parents happy but I really wanted to be out there, embracing people, embracing everything in life. It's like -- "
"Capturing people's stories in a different light?" He continued for you, as if reading your mind.
"Exactly." You smiled, quite happy that he saw it the way you usually did.
"If it wasn't for the hotel business I also would've been an artist. Maybe an actor."
"So, why didn't you?"
"Because business is all I know." He sighed. "Tony Stark, the guy who adopted me, taught me everything there was to know. As he was building his empire, he pulled me towards it and now, I'm running one of his hotels. Y'know, I don't think of him as a father or anything. More like a friend, a wingman."
And just like that, Bucky peeled himself like an onion. Slowly. Layer by layer by layer. But then he stopped. He opened his mouth to say more but then he decided to stop. You waited but nothing else came out. As much as he wanted to know you, you too wanted to know him — and not just his wild adventures but the things that were deeper than that.
It felt nice to talk to Bucky this way. Actually, it wasn't just nice. It was very comfortable that it gave you a warm sensation on your chest.
Seeing that he wasn't as comfortable as he was before opening up, you steered to a different topic. "Have you ever felt that kind of feeling?" you asked.
"What feeling?"
"The afterglow feeling."
"No," he chuckled, "I don't think so. I'm stuck in a routine, y/n. Business, party, booze, girls. Nothing exciting, nothing out of the ordinary. Everything's the same, everything feels like nothing after."
You agreed with him. "I guess I'm also stuck in a rut." You harmonized with his laughter, seeing your life flash before your eyes. "Cheers to that."
With that, you drank the night away.

✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
"Are you sure you're okay?", Chris asked you as the two of you were sitting on the warm sand, eating the cookies and the fruits, as the sun was beginning to set, the sky filled with beautiful shades of pink and orange. "I can drive you home immediately so you can rest and maybe some other time, if at all.. I mean... if you want to, we can--", your laugh interrupted his words.
"Yes, Chris, I'm fine now!", You said with a smile. You then looked at him, "Thanks to you... Mr. Keeper?", this nickname made him blush and finally he could join your laughing.
“Wait, so you baked these cookies??", Chris asked. “Yup”, you answered with a smile. “They were super easy to make actually!”. "Wow, really? those baking skills really do run in the family, huh?", he said, and you could only laugh in response.
"Oh, I almost forgot!!", He suddenly called. He opened his backpack and took a huge plastic bag out of it that seemed pretty full. He took out all the candies and snacks out of it, and your eyes widened because these were your favorites back in Australia and you missed eating them so much. He opened all of them and said "Ta daaaaaa".
After you two finished eating, you decided to have a walk on the beach. Chris got up first, and being the gentleman he is, helped you standing up.
"The sky looks so pretty at this time of the day", you said, trying to start a conversation. For some reason, it didn't feel awkward walking quietly with him like this. But you still wanted to know him better... and you liked listening to him talk, too.
Chris wanted to say it so badly. 'You're so much prettier'. But he didn't, as it was too cheesy and would probably make it too weird for you. And he didn't want to do that, of course. When talking to other people, he always felt like he has to start conversations, but to him, walking like this with you- the sea water touch your legs as the two of you walk side by side... It was perfect. He let his hand get closer to yours and finally held it.
You were a bit surprised at first (I mean, he was so quiet you thought you said something wrong??), not expecting him to do what you wanted to do so badly yourself, but his hand felt so warm and nice in your hand that you immediately held it back, looking at him with a smile. He returned a big smile and you could see how his ears turned a soft shade of red again.
"Y/n...", Chris started. You two were walking for a while when you finally found a nice bench, so you decided to sit there and look at the sunset together as some stars were showing. "I had a really great time with you today... I mean, it was scary at first. Very scary. But after the scary part, it was amazing"
You smiled. "It really was amazing for me too", you said, eyes meeting his. "And thank you... for saving my life and for making this date so great...", you let your head rest on his shoulder. He looked at you with the softest look omg you left him speechless... His ears couldn't get any more red right now.
"Y/n", he finally said. Gosh, how you liked the way he said your name. “Hmm?”, You turned to look at him, head still resting on his strong shoulder. "Is it okay if I do this...?", Your confused look changed to a smile in a second as he leaned forward, his soft lips touching yours, both hands cupping your cheeks gently, as warmth started spreading in your body.
Oh, it was a lot better than okay...
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
"Felix?", Seungmin's voice interrupted Felix's thoughts. "Hey, Felix, it's your turn... Is everything okay?"
The boys were sitting around the table, with snacks and soft drinks on it, as they were about to find out which one of them is going to do the dishes this time. And so they did it in the same way they have always made important life decisions like this- by playing card games.
"Yeah... I'm just...", Felix started. What was he feeling? He wasn't even sure himself. He was happy for his friend and his sister, of course. He trusts Chan to be the best boyfriend for y/n. But it doesn't mean this whole thing wasn't strange for him... which probably was the reason why he felt this strange pain in his chest that made it a little hard for him to breathe for a few seconds...
"He's just worried because Chan hyung is on a date with his sister right now, and..", Minho said, with a smile, but once he saw Felix's worried look he stopped joking, amusement leaving his face. "Oh, come on, It's going to be okay! We already talked about this- Chan hyung is a good guy, and I'm sure y/n can take care of herself...".
"I know, I know", Felix said. "I trust Chan hyung, and I trust my sister to make the right choice. But still... I have a bad feeling for some reason..? "
"Your twinny-senses are tingling?", Jisung asked, shoving two potato chips in his mouth.
Of course, that's how you two called the way you could tell when the other lied, and when you just knew stuff, but they weren't REAL...
"Well, I don't know, I just feel like--", Felix started.
"It's the twinny-senses", Jisung continued, still chewing.
"Uhmmm, I.. it's not like--"
"Just tell him that it's your twinny-senses", Hyunjin said, rolling his eyes. "Jisung hyung wouldn't stop it if you don't", Jeongin added with a nod, whispering.
Felix sighed. "Yeah, it's my twinny-senses", he said, looking at Jisung who looked at him as if waiting for him to continue. "And.. they're tingling?". Felix said with another sigh. Now Jisung finally looked satisfied as he nodded with a proud smile.
"I'm sure it's alright", Changbin said, patting the younger's back. "This situation is probably just a little weird for you",
"I think so too", Jeongin added. "I mean, Channie-hyung is coming very soon and you sleep in the same room with him so... It's probably going to be even weirder for you two".
"Oh no...", Hyunjin covered his mouth with his hand, not able to hide his smile.
"Oh, our Jeonginnie...", Jisung said with a chuckle, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Felix, don't listen to them, everything is going to be okay", Seungmin said.
"And you don't have to talk about it to him, you know", Changbin added. "I sleep in this room too, so if the situation gets too awkward, this hyung will help you!", He pointed at himself, gaining some snorts of laughter from the others.
But it did lift up Felix's spirit. "Thank you Changbin hyung--", he said, smiling.
The sound of a key turning in the lock made them all freeze.
Chan was now standing in the living room, with a smile on his face. "So...", He started. "Who's doing the dishes this time?"
Everyone was quite at first. Chan's hair looked curlier than usual, meaning it was soaked and dried in the cool air, which makes sense as he probably couldn't help it but swim, being the sea-lover he is. But what caught their eyes was his clothes that still seemed a bit damp and were pretty wrinkled. Now, why wouldn’t he take off his shirt to get in the water?? It could be a great way to impress y/n as they all know how great his body looks...
"It's Felix", Minho's voice finally broke the silence. "Felix is doing the dishes this time".
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
A/n: Hope you all have a wonderful day, please stay safe and happy! In case any of you is also insecure about the way they look, please know that you’re beautiful, loved and very important!!

Literature Professor! Robert De Niro x Reader
Based on a weird dream I had! But I've developed it into a whole thing 😘
Word count: 2k
TW: none, it's all fluff--part 2, not so much
Tumblr media
As you walk through the literature building on campus looking for your classroom, you check your schedule one last time to make sure you end up at the right classroom.
As you're looking at the schedule you can't help but feel like you're taking a chance with this course, because the professor is listed as TBD: To Be Determined. At the time of scheduling your classes, it's normal for the professor slot to say TBD, but normally, as summer was coming to an end, you knew who all of your professors would be.
At the end of the day, the class was only an elective, and you could drop it and work out the problems later if it was that bad.
Before you know it, your feet have carried you to your classroom and you pop your head in the door to peak at what's going on inside. There are a few students, most of them sitting in the front desks, probably hoping to do well in the class by sitting up front.
You walk in and take a seat by the professors desk--taking another chance,-- but you like to try to get to know your professors, especially in a small class like this. A few more people come in and find their seats, but there's still several minutes before class starts.
Just as you were pulling books out of your bag for class, Robert De Niro walks in and asks, "Is this is the Film Lit class?" All of your books hit the floor.
One of your classmates spoke up, "Yeah, this is your class. Nice to meet ya, Professor De Niro!"
"Nice to meet you, too," he says, shaking the kid's hand.
You tap the girl in front of you on the shoulder and ask, "That's the professor?!" She laughs a little and says, "Yeah, you didn't get the message? They're letting him teach a class on the books he's studied for roles."
You felt like you were in a dream. Everyone was so casual with this, but then again, they had all gotten some kind of notification about it.
Trying to pull it together, you reach down and scramble to pick all of your books up and set them on your desk. Suddenly, you hear your professor's voice coming from beside you, "Do you need any help with that?"
You look over to see him standing at his desk, giving you a concerned look.
His desk; the one you chose to sit near.
You now have a panicky feeling of regret about the seat you chose.
"Um, no, I can get it," you shoot back to him quickly before grabbing the last books from the floor.
You could feel his eyes on you though, and you tried to pretend you didn't and focus on writing something in your notebook, but it wasn't long before you gave in and looked at him. He was sat back in his chair, just watching you for the small moment it took to get your books. He gave you a charming smile.
"Do you need something, professor?" It came out of your mouth without thinking.
"Hmm, just your name," he replied smugly. Was he flirting with you?
"(Y/N)."
"Well, (Y/N), it's nice to meet you," he stands and reaches across his desk to shake your hand, "you can call me Robert."
Before you could get your thoughts straight, he had walked up to the front of the classroom and begun class.
He started class with the simple exercise of each person telling the class their name, which book was their favorite from the summer reading, and to read their favorite passage. This took up a majority of class, because he would ask each person questions and discuss the passage with them.
He wrapped class up early by telling everyone that the first week's homework was to finish the summer reading if they hadn't, and handing out the syllabus, which was small and very simple. You take note that his office hours work pretty well with your schedule.
The class was only about 15 people, but nearly everyone wanted to talk to the professor after class; he's Robert De Niro after all. You stayed in your desk to pull out your schedule and make sure about when your next class was; you have a big break before that class.
By the time you've shoved your books in your book bag, your professor has somehow gotten out of talking to ask the other students and he makes his way over to his desk. He looks at you with a big smile and says, "Aw, were you waiting to see me?"
The last few students leave. It's just you and him.
"Oh, uh, no, I was just looking at some papers. I'm sorry." You stand up and put your back pack on.
"Oh, well, that's sad because I was hoping to see you," he starts. When he sees you're not going to respond, he continues, "It seems like you're kind of shy, and you didn't want to interact as much as the other students. Class will be highly discussion based, so I want to make sure that you'll be okay with that structure. I'd really rather not grade papers, ya know?" he ends with a small chuckle.
"I'll be okay with class discussions. Truthfully, I was just a little caught off guard because I didn't know you were the professor."
"Oh no! You didn't get the memo that went out?! That won't do. Would you mind coming to my office to make sure I have all of your contact info correct?"
"Um, sure. I have time." Truthfully, you're still kind of reeling just from his presence, and now he wants you to go to his office.
"Come on!" he says, while coming around his desk, "Oh, and give me your back pack, it looks heavy."
"Oh no, it's okay."
"I insist. It's a long walk to my office, and I would be no gentleman if I let you carry that heavy bag all the way there."
He certainly didn't act like a professor. Especially not towards you, but maybe your mind was playing tricks on you there.
You hand over your back pack, and he puts it on, then gestures for you to leave the classroom before him. On the walk to his office, you insist on carrying his notebook, since he has your back pack. He was glad to see you open up to him a bit, and since he no longer has his notebook, this meant he was able to place his hand on your back... to make sure you walk the right way, no other reason, right? Why would he have another reason to do that?
You make light conversation all the way to his office, discussing your major and why he decided to teach a class here at the college. The walk to his office was over in no time, but maybe that was due to the good conversation. You enter the small office and see that there isn't much inside, but then again, he's only teaching for one semester. He has an L-shaped desk, a table, a couple of filing cabinets, a mini fridge, and a small couch for office guests.
He nods to the couch for you to sit, and he places your back pack by your feet. You place his notebook on his desk next to you. He opens a drawer on the filing cabinet; it's very empty except for a few manila folders. "(Y/N)! There you are!" he exclaims while whipping your file out, "There's not much in these files yet, but they'll be filled with your papers and grades by the end of the term." He gives you a warm smile before opening the file on his desk.
You go over your contact information with him; turns out he had it all wrong somehow, so he corrects the file and returns it to his cabinet.
"Well, I've run out of excuses to keep you in my company, but you're welcome to stay and hangout here if you'd like," he says as he takes one of your hands in his.
"Well, I have another class in about an hour, and I really should eat lunch, so unfortunately, I think I've got to go."
He jumps up and opens his mini fridge, "I brought PB and J's! And I have other little snacks if you want some, like fruit cups or... whatever..." He trails off and smiles awkwardly, realizing he may have gotten a little too excited.
You giggle at him, "Seems like you really want me to stick around... I'll stay as long as you don't mind sharing." You're doing your best to keep your cool, and it helps that Robert isn't keeping his very well, but you are a little nervous, nonetheless.
Without hesitation, he hands you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. "Do you want a fruit cup or pudding? Or both? I also have chips." His need to impress you elicits another giggle from you, and you ask for chips.
After getting his own sandwich and pulling out the chips, you enjoy lunch together. Him at his desk and you on the little couch.
This becomes your regular Tuesday/Thursday thing. After Robert's class, you go to his office for lunch; sometimes you bring food to share with him, too. Sometimes people stop in, students and other professors, because they all want to meet Robert De Niro. He's very good about meeting people and then getting them to leave without being rude.
Sometimes on Thursday's you pop back by his office after your other Tuesday/Thursday class, and technically his office hours have ended, but he has no problem with you being there. Typically you just see each other for a few minutes while he's packing up to leave campus, but one Thursday, you both sat on the little couch and talked for a while.
"Do you think I'm doing okay with this class? I mean I don't want it to be too easy, but I don't want to make it hard. It's an elective for most of you." He really did care about what he was teaching you from those biographies of boxers and mobsters.
"I think your discussions challenge us more than you think. I've never seen a class of students show up so prepared for every single lecture. Then again, I think we all know we'll never get a chance to take a class like this again."
"Yeah I know I don't have the normal professor experience, because I don't have any degrees and you guys all know who I am."
"You also get to pick favorites and don't get in trouble for it, because of who you are," you say giving him a side eye.
"Hey! Just because you're my favorite doesn't mean you get good grades..." He leans in a bit closer to you.
"Hmmm, so I am your favorite?"
"Of course, you are. You eat lunch with me in my office."
"Any other perks of being Mr. De Niro's favorite student?"
"Mmm, Mr. De Niro, huh? I thought I told you to call me Robert, young lady," he places a hand on your cheek with his thumb on your chin.
You give him a cheeky smile. "I'll call you Robert after you answer my question."
"Hmmm... Any other perks to being my favorite student? Besides hanging out with me and eating lunch with me..." His other arm snakes around your shoulders. "What about this?"
Before you can say anything, he pulls you close to him and lightly presses his lips to yours. You both stay like that for a long second before moving your lips together, kissing lightly over and over again.
