When Hotch had notified the team to haul their asses up and drove all the way to D.C., Spencer never expected that it would also entail him having to suffer through a mini heart attack.
The series of attacks around D.C. had been dominating the 6 PM news segments in the entire country. What was initially perceived as a suspected sequence of robberies gone wrong--since the first two targets to have been hit were a bank and a prestigious auction house--soon turned into a nationwide panic as people realized that there was a bigger game at play.
After the third attack was found to have occurred in the headquarters of one of the top, up-and-coming renewable energy startups in the states, the D.C. police finally started to entertain the idea that perhaps they hadn't been dealing with their usual petty robbers at all.
And naturally, that was when the BAU had been called in.
As soon as the team entered the Metropolitan PD bullpen, they were struck with the smell of panic and the sight of chaos.
"Agent Hotchner?" A middle-aged man in a gray shirt and blue tie appeared in front of them. "My name is Detective Mills, we spoke on the phone."
"Of course, Detective." Hotch shook the other man's hand. "This is my team. Agent Prentiss, Jareau, and Dr. Reid. I have two others already at the latest crime scene. What can you tell us so far?"
"As you can see--" Detective Mills gestured towards the frenzied scene behind him, "--the entire D.C. area is going haywire after news broke out about yesterday's attack. The public is demanding the city to be put on lockdown, and I'm getting pressure from above as well. We received information that nearly half the city has called in sick today."
"A classic response to mass paranoia," Spencer noted.
"Well, paranoia or not, I just want to start getting some answers." Detective Mills began to lead the team further into the bullpen. "I have every pair of hands I could spare in this. If they aren't out there chasing leads, they're here interviewing the victims, friends, and families."
"Any luck so far?" Emily asked.
"Nothing more than what you've probably seen in the files."
Detective Mills pushed open the door to an office in the corner, away from the havoc in the center of the station.
"Lieutenant Jeffreys retired a couple of weeks ago. The lucky bastard." Detective Mills scoffed jokingly. "It's the most decent space I can spare at the moment. Think you'll be fine in here?"
"It's more than enough, Detective. Thank you," Hotch replied.
"What about the witnesses from yesterday's attack? Have you had the chance to interview them?" JJ asked as the rest of the team started setting up.
"Some of my men are with them right now. But I doubt they'll have anything useful. Just like the other two cases, the attack happened while most of the office was out. The rest left behind were DOA at the latest scene."
"They're rapidly devolving," Spencer pondered out loud as he skimmed over the case files. "They went from killing a non-compliant security guard during the first attack to executing almost every witness in the last one."
JJ raised an eyebrow. "Almost?"
"It says here there is one survivor." Spencer showed the word he had underlined in the case overview to JJ.
"Yes, there is," Detective Mills confirmed. "I had one of my men talk to her. There's not much she could give us. Thing is, she wasn't even supposed to be there."
"What do you mean?" Emily asked.
"She didn't work in that office. She was a consultant who just happened to be visiting. Poor girl's pretty shaken up. She hid in a supply closet the entire time. She was the one who found the bodies and called 911."
"So, the perpetrators never checked the rooms while they were holding the victims hostage?" Hotch questioned.
"Not according to her statement, no. See, I thought it weird myself. Do you have any idea why?"
"Not sure." Hotch hummed, deep in thought. "Perhaps our UnSubs didn't think to check because they didn't know someone was in there. Detective, you said all of the victims were the only employees of the company who didn't attend the event downtown, correct?"
"Yeah, they were the only ones who weren't listed as attendees. Why? Do you think those people were specifically targeted?"
"Unfortunately, we can't rule out anything yet this early in the investigation," Hotch said. "We need to talk to the witnesses to know more. JJ?"
"On it." JJ nodded. "What can you tell us about yesterday's sole survivor, Detective?"
"Not much. I didn't interview her personally, one of my men did. She works at a consulting engineering firm in town," Detective Mills replied. "I believe her name is... what is it called?"
When Detective Mills mentioned the name, Spencer's heart instantly crashed inside of its cage.
"What?" His hand had stopped scribbling on the board. In a matter of miliseconds, Spencer had crossed the room towards the doorway where Detective Mills was standing. "What did you say her name was?"
Dumbfounded, the detective stared at a dread-stricken Spencer before spelling out the name once more.
"Why? What's wrong?" Detective Mills asked in confusion.
JJ touched Spencer's shoulder. "Hey, you okay?"
But Spencer, either too alarmed or merely choosing not to acknowledge both questions, asked instead, "Where is she? I need to see her."
"In the waiting room by the pantry--"
Spencer didn't even wait for Detective Mills to form his complete thought before dashing out. JJ exchanged a glance with Emily following Spencer's sudden exit, perplexed by his odd turn of behavior.
"I'll go get him," JJ announced before leaving the room, chasing after a flurry of wavy hair and a wool-knitted purple vest sprinting across the bullpen.

The roaring commotion inside the station was almost loud enough to rival the intensity of your racing thoughts.
Almost.
At this point, you didn't think there was anything you could do anymore. The vivid images from yesterday's attack were playing continuously in your head. There was nothing you could do to stop them.
Rubbing your eyes from exhaustion, you mourned the loss of sleep that you failed to get the previous night. As if the waking nightmares weren't torment enough, the images had somehow translated even more cruelly into your subconscious. You could barely close your eyes for three seconds without feeling like you had been brought back to that place.
Cold, cramped, and alone. Fearing for your life in the tiny supply closet that smelled more like death than bleach.
At the sound of the door opening, you quickly turned around in your seat to hide your face away from prying eyes. The last thing you needed at that moment was having a complete stranger seeing you fall apart in the middle of a police station.
But when the voice came carrying the sound of your name, it wasn't the voice of a complete stranger you had heard. It was a voice you knew more than you probably knew your own. A voice you loved and a voice you had longed to hear for the past gruesome twenty-four hours.
"Spencer?" You turned back towards the door, seeing the face you adored most in the whole world staring back at you.
"Sweetheart."
At the speed of a lightning, Spencer dropped to his knees in front of you and gathered your broken little pieces into his arms.
Spencer's touch was everywhere. Your hair, your neck, your shoulders. As if he was checking whether you were real. That you were actually there inside his arms, and you were not a simple imagination that his mind had conjured up.
Surrounded by the safety of his embrace, you could feel the shattered pieces of yourself beginning to mend once more.
"Spencer," you uttered his name again as you pulled away, still in disbelief that he was physically there with you.
"I'm here," he promised you as he cupped your face gently.
"Spencer, what are you... How..."
"My team is working your case. We arrived half an hour ago," he explained simply. "Sunshine, why didn't you tell me? I thought you were still in Alaska?"
You had previously apprised Spencer that you would be hard to reach during your trip since you would be spending most of your time at the power plant site where cellphone receptions were scarce. So when an entire day went by without him ever hearing from you, Spencer didn't have any reason to be worried.
Never in a million years would he have ever predicted that you'd be caught in the middle of a hostage situation.
That thought alone caused Spencer to squeeze your hand a little tighter than usual.
"I'm sorry, Spence," you said sincerely. "My trip ended earlier than planned. I arrived back yesterday morning. I actually wanted to surprise you last night. After yesterday's... incident, I wanted to call you, but my phone was shot--"
"Wait, what? You were shot?"
"No! No, baby. Not me. Just my phone," you assured him. "But that's why I couldn't call. I did attempt you once using this station's phone, but it went straight to voicemail."
At the new piece of information, the colors immediately drained from Spencer's face.
"That was you? Fuck. I didn't--I didn't know. I rejected the call because I didn't know it was you."
"Hey." You stopped his guilty rambling with a hand to his cheek. "It's okay. I'm okay. I'm just glad you're here."
And then, because Spencer needed to make sure that you really were okay, he pulled you back into his arms and held you even tighter this time.
"Uh, Spence?"
The sound in the doorway snapped you both out of your mutual reverie. You looked up to see a blonde woman there, staring in an equal mixture of shock and confusion at the sight in front of her.
Spencer begrudgingly untangled himself from your arms before getting up to approach her.
"JJ, do you mind if I do the cognitive for this one?" Spencer asked.
The woman--JJ-- shifted her eyes a few times between you and Spencer. "Um, of course. I'll just go and inform Hotch. Tell us if you need anything."
After JJ's departure, Spencer closed the door again to award you both a much needed privacy.
He grabbed a wooden chair from the corner and dragged it before sitting down right in front of you.
"I need to start the interview now, sweetheart. Think you're up for it?"
Your whole body went rigid for a matter of seconds before you forced it to restart again. It was gone as soon as it came, but Spencer noticed it just the same.
"Look at me," Spencer ordered softly, using his delicate finger to nudge your face up until he was looking straight into your eyes. "I know it's scary. I don't want you to have to relive yesterday either, but it will help us catch whoever did this."
"I've told the police everything I knew yesterday. I was hiding the entire time." Like a coward. "I didn't see anything. I don't have anything else that could help you."
"I know that, sunshine. But as I've told you before, our method is slightly different. We won't be just focusing on what you saw, but also what you smelled, or maybe even heard." Spencer took your hands then, squeezing affectionately. "I'll be here with you the entire time."
The nod you gave him was hesitant, but it was a start nonetheless. You listened intently to Spencer's words and closed your eyes just as he had instructed.
"We'll start at the beginning," you heard him say. "Why don't you tell me why you went there yesterday?"
"I, uh, received a call from my friend, Nick, after my plane landed. We had been communicating back and forth since his company seeked my consultation for one of their upcoming projects," you began. "I wasn't even supposed to work because I had requested the day off. But Nick said it didn't have to be a formal meeting, so I agreed to meet him."
"Tell me what you remember after arriving at the office."
Your mind traveled back to that specific time one day prior. You remembered walking into the place and seeing its unusual state of vacancy even though there was still a good half an hour left before lunchtime.
"I just assumed everyone had gone to lunch earlier and shrugged it off," you recalled.
Spencer nodded his head. "Did anything else strike you as out of the ordinary?"
"No? I don't... I don't know. It was only my second time being there, I'm not sure what was normal and what wasn't."
"Okay. That's okay. You're doing good so far, sweetheart," Spencer quickly interjected, trying to get you to calm down before your distress could turn into a full-blown panic. "Now, what did you do next?"
"I followed Nick into his office."
Nick was keeping his promise true. It hadn't felt like a formal meeting, just two old college buddies reminiscing about the past and discussing possibilities of the future that, of course, included the company's upcoming project which you would be working on with him.
"I excused myself to the bathroom at some point," you added. "When I first heard the commotion, I thought nothing of it. It's like the idea that a group full of armed men had taken over the building didn't even cross my mind. I mean, why would it? I was on my way back to Nick's office when I saw them."
You recalled turning a corner after exiting the bathroom only to see those figures carrying machine guns and shouting at everyone to get on their knees or put their hands above their heads. You remembered sprinting the way you had come from and opening the first door you could reach that just happened to be the supply closet.
"Let's go back to the moment you saw them," Spencer urged gently. "How many people were there? Do you remember any conspicuous detail? Maybe one of them had tattoos or spoke with an accent. Anything that distinguished them."
Taking a deep breath, you tried replaying those crucial seconds slowly in your head.
"There were four of them. I couldn't see much. They were all wearing identical black clothes."
Suddenly, an unexpected piece of memory rushed to the front of your mind. You opened your eyes in shock, meeting Spencer's curious gaze that had been kept intently on you the entire time.
"I think at least one of them is a woman," you told him.
Spencer's eyebrows rose in surprise. "Are you sure?"
"One of the guys said something about... fucking this place up. And then she laughed. I heard her. It was definitely a female laugh."
"Good. That's good."
"Yeah? Do you think it'll help?"
Spencer nodded assuredly, bringing his hand to leave calming strokes on your head. "I know it will. You've done a great job, sweetheart. I'm proud of you."
The praise Spencer gave eased the tension in your shoulders. As if having been granted fresh air after decades of confinement, you were finally able to let yourself breathe again.
Spencer continued his loving strokes on your head. Little by little, the weight of his touch melted the resolve you had built into a pathetic puddle on the floor. Without its mental shield protecting you, your tears sped forward, gathering in your eyes until they spilled on the vast path down your cheeks.
"Hey, hey." Spencer's voice was laden with panic after seeing you start to cry. "Sunshine, what is it? What's wrong? Talk to me."
"I-I just... God." You struggled to get the words out in between sobs. "I'm a coward, Spencer."
"What?"
"All of those people... They died because I was a fucking coward."
Your admission tore into the air before stabbing Spencer right through his chest.
"Sweetheart, you know that's not true."
"But it is!" you cried out, pulling away from Spencer's grounding hold around your shaking body in favor of your own arms. "I was a coward. I ran and hid because I was too scared to die. Too scared to fight. If I had just tried a little harder, I could've called for help. That way, maybe all of those people wouldn't... And Nick wouldn't..."
A haunting image flashed behind your eyes. The image of Nick's limp and lifeless body on the floor, among those of the others. You remembered crying next to him, punching his chest, body, and arm despite having seen the gunshot wound on his forehead. It took you another five minutes before you eventually managed to gather yourself together, found a phone, and dialed 911.
Not that it made any difference. They were all already dead.
Spencer could hear his heart breaking at the sight of you curling into yourself, recoiling from his touch because you somehow believed you didn't deserve his affection at that moment. If Spencer could just transfer all of your pain towards him, he would. Seeing you beat yourself up that way over something that happened and was done to you was the worst kind of torture he ever had to endure in life.
And Spencer had been through more kinds of torture than the general population in the world.
Deciding that he had seen enough of your self-deprecating torment, he reclaimed your hands inside of his palms and urged you to look at him.
"Are you hearing yourself right now?" Spencer asked incredulously. "How can you even think that way? Sweetheart, what happened to those people, to Nick, it is not your fault."
"B-but, if I hadn't run away--"
"Then you would've died, too," he cut you off. "Sunshine, there were four of them with machine guns. No one stood a single chance against them. Those people were there to kill. There was nothing you could've done."
It was a hard pill to swallow, but Spencer needed you to hear it.
He needed you to know the truth no matter how unacceptable it was.
"If you hadn't hid from them, we would've found seven bodies there instead of six. And I--" Spencer took a shuddering breath, "--I would've lost you."
Your shoulders deflated at his revelation. "Spence--"
"So please--" he searched your eyes then, using his thumb to sweep away the remaining tears under your eyes, "--stop holding yourself accountable. I promise I will do everything I can to find those people and make them pay for what they did."
Spencer's vow triggered a new wave of tears that compelled you to sink into his awaiting arms. He let you stay there until you had cried your tears dry. It was something he also secretly needed for himself after suffering through the short-lived horror over the mention of your name in relation to the heinous case. He just needed to make sure that you were okay.
A few minutes passed by with you in his arms. Eventually, Spencer had to tear himself away to finish his job. He asked you to wait as he wrapped up the transcript of your cognitive interview, along with his professional report over it.
"I need to run somewhere real quick. I promise to be back in a couple of hours," he notified JJ as he handed her the interview report. "Tell Hotch for me? Thanks."
Without waiting for his friend's reply, Spencer rushed back to the waiting room before leading you out to take you home.
Back at your apartment, Spencer guided you towards the direction of your bathroom as soon as you had stepped into the threshold.
"Are you trying to get me naked, Spencer?" you remarked playfully after he refused to let you take your clothes off yourself.
"Yes." The gleaming mischief in your eyes caused him to flick your nose lightly. "Just to get you ready for your bath. Get your head straight, will you?"
You scoffed at his back as he turned around to check the water temperature in the tub.
Once you were submerged safely inside, Spencer left the bathroom to give you some privacy. Meanwhile, he began rummaging through your drawers to pull out a change of clothes, a towel, and a clean sheet for your bed.
By the time you exited, Spencer had changed your bedsheets and lit one of your favorite candles on the bedside table. He asked you to sit down on the bed as he kneeled before you, helping you put on the pajamas he had picked out with little prints of sunflowers on them.
None of Spencer's touches were sexual. They swept over your skin with the care of an artist handling their most precious work. When his eyes found yours, you swore you could almost cry from the intense adoration that seemed to shine so brightly out of them.
As he guided you to lie on the bed, you were surprised to see him following suit. He got under the covers with you, pulling you close to tangle every inch of your limbs with his.
"I love you, Spencer," you admitted to his chest, heart heavy with the deep appreciation and overwhelming affection for the man beside you.
Spencer looked down at your confession, finding his favorite pair of eyes already looking earnestly at him. Instinctively, he reached for your chin with his fingers, tugging your face upward until he could capture your lips with his.
The kiss was slow. Careful. Filled with silent promises and discreet reassurances. When you both parted, Spencer didn't pull himself away. Instead, he let his forehead touch yours while his eyes stayed closed.
"Will you be here when I wake up?" you asked quietly.
"Yes, sweetheart. Now go to sleep."
Although the two of you knew his answer was a lie, you both chose to pretend otherwise. You knew Spencer still had responsibilities to fulfill, along with a promise to you that he intended to keep. You knew that when you woke up later that evening, Spencer would already be long gone, and you would be forced to bask in the traces of himself that he had left behind.
But for now, Spencer was still there, in the comfort of your bedroom, lying on the bed next to you. And that knowledge alone was good enough for you to finally drift further into the land of sleep, surrounded by the warmth of Spencer's loving embrace.

"I'm telling you," JJ insisted, looking at her entire team minus Spencer and Hotch. "There was definitely something going on between them. Why else would he request to take over the cognitive for me?"
"Maybe he was feeling generous," Rossi deadpanned, earning an unimpressed glare from JJ.
It had been a full week since the BAU team had arrived in D.C. to investigate the series of gun attacks in the city. Just the day prior, they had successfully made their fourth arrest, bringing this case to yet another satisfying conclusion in the eye of justice.
If nothing else was amiss, they should have been on their way back to Quantico in less than an hour. In the meantime, though, JJ felt obliged to gather her team members in the middle of the bullpen to share her suspicion about a certain scene she had accidentally caught on their first day working the case.
"Pretty boy did seem more emotionally involved in this case than he usually does, though," Derek pointed out.
"Right? Right?" JJ replied almost too enthusiastically. "Come on, aren't you guys at least half as curious as I am about who this mystery girl might be? Don't you wanna try finding out who she is while we're still here?"
They all stared at each other in hesitation.
"Or, we could just ask Spencer directly and let him explain?" Emily suggested, receiving incredulous looks from the other three in response. "Yeah, you're right. What did you say her name was again?"
"I don't remember," JJ answered.
"It must be listed in the files somewhere, right?" Derek immediately sprung into action, reaching towards the scattered case files that might contain the name they were looking for.
"Just to be clear, I am not taking any part in this." Rossi sighed.
"Got it!" Derek waved the offending file in hand, giving it to JJ, who instantly began skimming over it.
"Alright. Says here that her name is..."
JJ read the name aloud when unexpectedly, an answering sound sprouted from behind them.
"Yes?"
Every single one of them turned in shock at your voice. You smiled at their wide-eyed expressions, waving your hand a little awkwardly in the air.
"You!" JJ exclaimed.
"Me?"
Emily nudged JJ in the ribs, making the blonde woman wince.
"Y-you're the witness from the startup case, right?" JJ said, trying to rectify the situation.
"That's me."
"What can we do for you, Miss?" Rossi asked, stepping forward and away from the rest of the group.
"I'm actually looking for Spencer. Do you know where he might be?"
"Spencer Reid? You know Reid?" Emily asked.
Before you had the chance to reply, the man in question came strolling into the bullpen, rambling animatedly to Hotch who was walking beside him. The moment Spencer caught sight of you, though, he immediately abandoned Hotch's side and rushed towards where you were standing.
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
"Looking for you, of course," you told him, fitting yourself easily into Spencer's side as his arm went around your waist. "Hi, Hotch."
The older man called your name in greeting. "I got your message. You wanted to talk to me?"
"I wanted to ask you--well, all of you, actually--" you glanced around at the other team members, "--if maybe you all would let me treat you to lunch? As a thank you for your hard work on the case."
Hotch nodded in response. "It's fine with me. We don't have to be back until tonight, anyway. Everyone?"
Instead of replying to your offer, Emily voiced aloud the question that was circling everyone's mind.
"You know her?" Emily looked at Hotch before dragging her eyes away towards you. "And you know him? You know each other? How?"
You gazed up at Spencer's eyes, seeing them shining with the same mirth as the one you felt dancing in your stomach.
"I guess this is supposed to be the part where I introduce myself, isn't it?" You chuckled.
Extending your palm, you shook each of their hands while telling them your name, them responding back with theirs even though you already knew who was who long before you had even met them.
"I still don't understand," JJ admitted after you finished shaking her hand. "How did you know Spencer and Hotch?"
Once again, you looked into Spencer's eyes, a question bouncing around in yours. Spencer's nod of affirmation was the only go-ahead you needed.
It's time.
"I'm Spencer's girlfriend."
"She's my wife."
You turned your head towards Spencer in shock.
In front of you, Spencer's teammates were causing an uproar.
"Wait, what?" Emily stared dumbfoundedly.
"You have a girlfriend?" Derek asked in disbelief.
"You're married?!" JJ shrieked.
"Hold on a second," Rossi interjected, holding his palms out as if to tell everyone to stand down and calm themselves. "So which one is it? Girlfriend or wife?"
And that was how you found yourself sitting in the private VIP room of your favorite restaurant in the city with some of Spencer's closest people on earth.
"That's the craziest story I've ever heard," Emily pondered in astonishment.
Rossi, Derek, and JJ were all wearing an identical look on each of their faces after hearing the story of how you and Spencer met: by drunkenly getting married in Vegas after only knowing each other for barely one night when you both weren't even twenty-two yet.
"If someone were to tell me yesterday that there's another member of this team who also went to get married while drunk in Vegas, I would have never even thought of mentioning Spencer's name," JJ mused.
At your curious expression, Spencer explained, "Rossi also got drunkenly married in Vegas to his third ex-wife,"
"Why didn't you two get a divorce?" Emily suddenly asked.
It was something that everyone who knew about your situation with Spencer had questioned at one point or another. The real answer was because you and Spencer had both been reluctant to go through the nasty and lengthy legal process of getting a divorce. Therefore, you decided to part ways without doing anything about it, vowing to only track each other down if one of you ever needed to end the bond because of another impending marriage or any other urgent matter.
But that reason alone was usually not enough to appease people's curiosity. And over the years, you and Spencer had poked fun over that particular fact by coming up with the most outrageous lie you could muster up.
"She wanted to get a divorce," Spencer fabricated smoothly. "I persuaded her otherwise because I had this inkling that someday we were gonna fall in love."
Usually, any other people would coo sweetly at Spencer's statememt.
But these weren't any other people. These people were Spencer's family in more ways except flesh and blood, and even without their profiling skills, you knew they could see right through Spencer's little deception.
"That sounds like bullshit to me. Doesn't that sound like bullshit to you?" Emily asked, turning to JJ for support.
"Yeah, that was bullshit, alright," JJ claimed vehemently, prompting an innocent-looking grin from Spencer and a series of chuckles from everyone else.
"When did you two start dating, then?" Rossi spoke up from one end of the table.
"About two years after Vegas, right?" you estimated, to which Spencer nodded in confirmation. "He strolled into my place of work while he was on a case, and then he asked me out."
Derek sat up on his seat after hearing the new information. "Wait, when was this? Why didn't I know about this?"
"The beginning of my second year in the BAU," Spencer offered. "Elle knew."
"Elle? Elle Greenway? You told Elle but not me?" Derek looked offended.
Spender shrugged nonchalantly. "Elle was assigned with me that day."
"Unbelievable." Derek slumped back down in his chair. "Penelope is gonna freak when she finds out what she missed today."
"Penelope? Oh, she already knows," you told him.
That revelation earned a collective disbelief look across the entire table.
"Yeah... I, uh," you cleared your throat, "I actually just went shopping with her two weeks ago."
"You've got to be kidding me," Emily muttered.
"You told Penelope but not me?" Derek sounded hurt as he pointed his accusatory stare at Spencer. "You even told Hotch!"
"I didn't tell Garcia. She dug through my history and found it out herself. Had to bribe her with candies and chocolates for a whole month to keep her quiet," Spencer grumbled. "And I had to tell Hotch. We needed to add her number to my emergency contact list."
Despite Spencer's concise explanation, Derek still seemed unsatisfied by the whole ordeal.
"How long have you known?" he finally decided to ask Hotch.
"A while," the man answered from his seat at the opposite end of the table from Rossi. "They even babysat Jack a few times for me."
"I don't believe this," Derek scowled. "Pretty boy's got himself a girl for the last six years, and I never knew? Outrageous."
"Technically, we've been married even longer than that," Spencer responded, as if he was unaware of the imminent glower that Derek was sending his way. "Eight years since Vegas."
"That's longer than any of my marriage," Rossi remarked before sipping his drink.
The laugh that resonated upon Rossi's little comment elicited an affectionate smile on your lips.
"So, you live in D.C., then?" JJ asked, at last stirring the conversation away from the topic of your and Spencer's secret marriage-slash-relationship.
"I do, yeah. But most of the time, I live out of my suitcase," you answered. "My firm has clients all over the country. A few overseas, as well. I'm lucky if I even get to have an entire week to sleep uninterrupted in my own bed."
Even then, you truthfully quite enjoyed the work you had to do. You didn't mind having to travel some place new every other week. In fact, you somehow believed that your constant need to travel for your job, and Spencer for his, was one of the reasons why the two of you worked so well together.
Although people might think that two adults who had to travel for a living were a recipe for a disastrous relationship, you and Spencer had so far proven otherwise. Because of your respective schedules, you could sympathize more with the other anytime they had to go somewhere urgent for work. It only made you savor every single second you spent together because of how much precious each one of them became.
The rest of lunch unraveled with the same bucket of smiles, jokes, and laughter. It felt good to finally tell the few people who meant the world in Spencer's life the truth about your relationship. It was also a huge relief to see them opening their arms and welcoming you into the family without an ounce of hesitation.
"Hotch?" Spencer called out after everyone exited the restaurant. "Will it be okay if I stay in the city for one more night?"
"As long as you promise to be back for tomorrow's briefing," Hotch reminded sternly, but the meaningful look he passed over you before he entered his vehicle spoke of a thousand things left unsaid.
"It was so nice meeting you," JJ said as she took you in her arms. "And I'm sorry again about your friend."
"Thank you. And thanks for all of your hard work in catching those guys."
"Of course, it's what we do." JJ smiled as she pulled away. "Invite me and Emily the next time you and Penelope hang out, okay?"
"Will do," you promised.
You watched as every single one of them scrambled into the two black SUVs, waving your goodbye until the cars drove out of your sight.
"I think that went well," you commented before looking up at Spencer. "Do you?"
"I think it went as well as it could."
"So--" you began, circling your arms around Spencer's neck, "--we have more than twelve hours until you're expected back at Quantico. What do you wanna do?"
Spencer nudged your nose with his. "I can think of a few activities we can partake in."
"Really?"
"Really."
Just as he was a hairbreadth away from pressing his lips to yours, you suddenly tore yourself out of Spencer's arms.
"Like getting some frozen yogurts?" you asked giddily, smirking at the dumbfounded look that you managed to put on Spencer's face.
"Fine. Let's go get some frozen yogurts."
Spencer had to hide his amused grin at your elated squeals. He was more than content at that moment to let you produce those addictive sounds at the mere prospect of frozen yogurts.
But later that night, he had a whole different set of activities lined up to pull those same sounds out of you once more.
And it might or might not potentially involve an entirely different yet creative use of frozen yogurts as well.
Spencer simply just hadn't decided yet.

Started thinking about Riku-Kairi parallels and symbolism wrt the ending of kh2 so please hold while i get needlessly verbose about it-
specifically it started with this gif
Tumblr media
and ofc adhd is as adhd does and started going down the rabbit hole of connecting the dots.
The act of reaching out a hand/hand holding is a recurring thing in kh, the vast majority of which is chock full of meaning and symbolism, and this is no exception. This is the culmination of The Hero's Journey part of Sora's tale, the return home, and the heartfelt reunion between long-seperated friends. fun fact the heroine's journey follows the hero's journey for the first third or so before continuing on. kinda like how kh continued on long after things seemed to be 'resolved'. weekly plug to look up Howler's Heroine's Journey essays if you haven't yet
The angle from which I am viewing this scene right now is in regards to ofc Riku, and his own iconic pose that we see the first time in the intro to kh1 (and many, many times since)
Tumblr media
And this is where my riku-kairi-are-inverted-parallels-to-each-other brain starts barking like a dog because oughghghghggh same pose opposite side completely different body language- AHG.
And this matches their character arcs (as well as their respective combined arcs with sora) to a T as well. Riku's pose is the first we see, way back in kh1, and his hand is as much a taunt as it is an offer. Very befitting his relationship to sora in that game, which was coloured by a forged rivalry and intense jealousy (to quote the ultimania; Complicated Feelings) of/for sora.
(it is also notable that to date this gesture has yet to be resolved. the closest they've gotten is when sora grasped Riku's hand in kh2 on finding him- albeit in Ansem's visage.
Tumblr media
Symbolically this is Sora attempting to accept the gesture, but this time it is Riku who fails to meet him halfway, too deep in guilt and regret to feel worthy of it. his hand is turned downwards, limp and unresisting.
And again in DDD when Riku grabs sora's hand/wrist in an attempt to wake him from his nightmares, but this time sora isn't capable of reciprocating. like two ships passing in the night, always reaching but never quite meeting)
Tumblr media
(this one isn't quite as strong in the visual symbolism specific to the Riku Pose, but i did think it bore mentioning)
to return to the first gif however, for Kairi her posture is much less stiff, leaning forward with palpable releif at Sora's return. Honestly the fact that she holds out her left hand (which as far as i know is not her dominant hand) marks this as a very deliberate choice to parallel her as opposite to riku. and much like the rest of kh2's ending, it FEELS like a culmination, a completion of their arcs.... and most certainly isnt.
Which i mean to say, it's a mid-point. And the reason I say this is because of one little thing.
The seashell charm.
Tumblr media
There's a sort of irony here in that the charm that was meant to reunite them in this moment is also symbolically like a wedge between them. A heartfelt and meaningful gesture, don't get me wrong! i love this scene and the genuine emotions within, but i do love chewing on the way this gains a slightly different meaning in the greater context of later story beats; specifically that of kh3.
With how pointed and direct the parallel is between kairi and riku in these scenes, it did make me pause for a moment thinking about kh3. i know we've all seen a thousand and one analysis' of the paopu scene at this point, but forgive me as i must do so again under this specific lens.
'how does the paopu scene relate to the hand extended gesture at all?' i hear you ask, and on the visual surface not much. it has more to do with sora and kairi's relationship arc through the games and, of course, the lingering loose thread that was the cave drawing.
The paopu scene is a touching recreation of that cave drawing, one enacted by a pair of kids who didn't know if they would live to see another sunset. It's also probably the most symbollically dense thing in all of kh and that is saying something so I'm going to try and keep my observations limited to just what is relevant to this post- and that would be the way that the paopu scene is a direct continuation of Kairi's 'you're home' gesture in kh2.
Tumblr media
shooting stars are also a common recurring symbol in kh, and that's the symbol that ties these two scene's together. if kh1 is two disparate stars each trying to reach the other (the cave drawing, the seashell charm, the way their hands are seperated at the end of kh1), and the end of kh2 is that of the stars finally meeting (the single seashell star charm pressed between their palms), then the paopu scene is that of the stars passing each other by and beginning their own journey's anew (two stars held by crossed arms, each now holding a small piece of the other (bitten fruit) to show that their meeting may have been brief but it was meaningful)
it is in this way that kh3 quietly and tenderly closes out sora and kairi's combined arc, as two unlikely friends who then drift apart again, shining brightly for the shared experiance, Remind mostly serves to support that finality, tying up the last couple loose ends between them, and leaving the two far more comfortable with each other than they ever were while that arc was still ongoing (which i read as them no longer being uncertain as to what their relationship is; that of friends, and not whatever so many others around them had pushed and assumed)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(seriously look at how much more comfortable they are with each other the second the pressure to be something they're not is off. the awkwardness is completely gone i love it)
All of this is ofc still in parallel to Riku, who boasts no such star imagery (instead he has the iconic Heart of KH itself), and in fact while he symbollically continues to reach out to sora, physically he has completely refrained from doing so at all- in fact most examples of the Gesture in kh are deliberately invoked by other characters in order to bring riku to mind in some way (and often more for the players benifit than sora's)
axel in CoM,
Tumblr media
(i have given up on tumblr gif search)
YMX in DDD,
Tumblr media
which then immidiately cuts to riku in kh1 just to make it as blatant as possible that yes the reference is intentional (i guess CoM was too subtle somehow so they had to make sure this time)
Tumblr media
and even Riku himself to Namine at the end of kh3, representing Repliku's final wishes in a funny sort of symbolism oroboros.)
Tumblr media
and it's not a coincidence that the completion of that connection provides definitive closure to the arcs in question; that of namine to repliku, but also a little bit to riku himself. namine still has a role to play, but that role (i think) is more or less exclusive to her relationship with sora. namine and riku's relationship arc, background as it is, is complete, and now both are connected primarily through their incomplete arcs with sora.
(which makes the way that sora and kairi's example in kh2 is a complete outlier really interesting tbh. smth smth thinking your relationship is one thing and if it was that thing then yes that would have been the end, but it wasn't that thing and thus it wasn't the end smth smth comphet metaphor smth)
which brings us back to how riku himself hasn't really reached out to sora directly since kh1, the act that set off both of their journey's. The reasons for that are many- guilt, fear, a certainty that sora will not reach back and that he doesn't deserve it anyway- but despite that the Gesture is still subtly affirmed as being Riku's over and over again, never quite letting the audience forget it... because eventually this bit of symbolism so consistently portrayed throughout the series will reach its own conclusion, starting how it began with one deuteragonist reaching out to the other, and this time the other reaching back to complete the gesture.

— when the time comes, part two
pairing: logan howlett x gn! reader
part one is here
drabble,fluff, wade is briefly here <3 and blind al (slay)
summary: perhaps logan’s wish to find you in a different timeline comes true. and this time he doesn't only find you, but wade as well.
author’s note: I was wondering if I should add laura somehow to this scene but I think it came out perfect like this! what if I make a part three for the dinner/table scene where they're all together with wade though enjoy babies !!! this low-key made me cryyy... as always reblogs & likes & conversations are sooo welcome ^_^
“this is logan.”
you turn around as wade’s voice echoes within the small apartment. you'd been roommates for a while since you both were struggling with rent and this sort of arrangement had been quite beneficial. your friendship with wade had flourished in no time and you had somehow managed to become less anxious with his help, always having silly laughs and finding nice things even in the toughest situations.
you begin moving away from the kitchen area as you hear a dialogue going on — wade, al and a voice that didn't remind you of anything.
“finally, sweet cheeks. thought i’d have to start a new pissing ritual for you to show up!” wade chimes while placing a hand on his hip and looking straight at you. Whatever follows after, it never reaches your ears.
you stand there frozen, spatula falling from your hands, as your gaze stares at the man behind wade. you don’t know him but at the same time you do. that messy hair, that beard and those eyes. whoever that man was, he must have felt what you were feeling as he also stills by wade’s side. the silence that follows is long and awkward for the others but not for you and this man; at least that's what wade points out and ruins the moment. “right. if you're done eye fucking each other — and by the way sweet cheeks I thought we had something special — but yes if you're done..” wade walks towards you and gently pushes the goofiest dog ever in your hands. what the fuck?
“—I have a bath to run. gotta get those pores unclogged before my big party.” you tried to protest but wade was already gone and al was leaving as well, muttering something about holy sugar time.
the pair of eyes across you never leave yours. you stare back at the strange man named logan; at least that's what you'd heard wade call him. “I...nice to meet you.” you finally whisper while slowly setting the dog down, your hand instinctively reaching towards logan. the taller man leans forward as well and holds your hand, shaking it in the process. “i’m logan. thanks for having me.” he murmurs and for a man his size, you didn't anticipate such simplicity and gentleness in his voice. your eyes fill with unshed tears and for an unknown reason logan reaches out to wipe them away before they stain your cheeks. you shudder at the strange familiarity of those warm digits upon your skin. logan swallows thickly. “do I know you?” he asks and you look at him with wide, sparkly eyes. you were the prettiest thing he'd ever seen. “it feels like it, doesn't it?” was the only reply you could offer him as he nods.
a moment passes. then two. logan drops his hand from your face, realizing the boundaries he's crossing. not that you really minded his touch. you quickly compose yourself and wipe the remaining wetness from your face before shifting your gaze in between logan and the kitchen.
“are- are you hungry,logan?” you suddenly ask, your voice kind of shaky.
the surprise on his face lasts briefly before a small but genuine smile settles on his features. “yeah. starving actually.” you chuckle. he does too.
as logan follows you into the kitchen, and despite wade’s awful singing coming from the bathroom, you think about the cheapest bed you can buy tomorrow for the third addition in your family.

Summary: Evan saves a woman who then becomes very attached to him. While he is at work, she visits his home and takes his pregnant wife hostage.
Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Oh God, why was she back again?
Her smile did something to unnerve Evan, although he wasn't altogether sure why. It was the way she looked at him, like there was some kind of aura around him that nobody else had. It unsettled him, it made him panicked and uneasy and unsure about how to act or what to do.
Evan could feel his hands suddenly start to drag up and down his thighs in an anxious habit that reminded him of (Y/n). He didn't realise how many of her anxious traits he had too until he noticed the way (Y/n) would fidget or cling to him when she was nervous or ready to go home if they were out somewhere.
"Hi Buck,"
He fought hard to smile and try to be polite. It wouldn't be kind if he stared at her blankly or let his unease become visible.
"Hi… are you okay? Can I help you with something?"
Evan tucked his hands into his pockets as he stood in front of her but kept a safe distance of three feet between them.
This marked the third time Cara had come by the station and the second time, Evan had been lucky enough to be out on a call. She was only stopping by to talk to him, she didn't want to see any of the team. She asked for him the first time she popped round and she came to say thank you.
It had been very sweet, not many people willingly came by the station to thank any of the team when they helped people out of bad situations. They said thank you on the scene but never followed up and it was nice for Evan to see Cara was doing well. He often wondered about the people they saved, if they were okay, if they were happy or struggling. If they remembered the people who came to help them.
The second time, Evan had been uneasy when Chimney told him Cara came by again but left when she was told Evan was out.
Now she was back again, and Evan couldn't see why. She had thanked him the first time and he told her it was his job, he didn't do this for praise although it was lovely of her to stop and say thank you.
She had been trapped in a crumbling building when the team turned up at the scene and Cara had been seconds away from crashing through a window and falling to her death when Eddie and Evan got there. Evan went down on a rope and managed to grab her before she fell. He could see how it would shake her up and make her grateful, but he couldn't see why she would come back again and again to thank him when she didn't have to.
"I'm a lot better now, thank you. I thought I'd stop by and give you these."
Evan had been preoccupied wondering why she was here and missed the tuppaware box she had in her hands. When he leaned forward, he realised she had made some sort of cake.
The team got a lot of food, mainly chocolates or baked goods to say thank you and that was usually around Christmas or Easter.
Evan wasn't used to getting gifts from the people they saved, a polite thank you and a hug was always more than enough for him. He got enough gifts from the team and his family on special occasions. The last gift he got was (Y/n)'s gift on his birthday telling him he was going to be a dad. That had given him a whole new high he never felt before.
"Thank you," He tried his best to smile and took the box when she suddenly thrust it into his hands. "You didn't have to do that."
"It's the least I could do for my hero."
He could feel his smile fading away when she reached up and wrapped an arm around his neck to pull him into a hug.
He usually gave small hugs on the scene after saving someone, not weeks later when they came by to say thank you. He wasn't sure what to do. It wouldn't do him good to stand like an uncomfortable statue but he also didn't want to hug her as if they were good friends or give her the wrong impression. Evan was big on hugs and physical contact but only with close friends and family.
He was always messing about with Bobby and Eddie but they were more like family. Evan didn't do so well with strangers.
"Okay… take care." His smile was definitely more forced this time and looked more like a grimace when Cara finally let him go when she seemed to realise he wasn't hugging her back.
It wouldn't be professional to hug her back. He hadn't done anything to warrant a hug, he saved her almost three weeks ago and she said thank you on the scene. She wasn't a friend, she wasn't family or someone Evan knew well enough to have physical contact with. And he was married. He didn't want nor need to be hugging her.
As soon as she left the station, Evan turned around and let his shoulders deflate. He sighed and gritted his teeth as he looked over towards Hen who was checking the inventory in the ambulance.
"What'd you get?"
"Cake, I think." He hoped.
"Taking it home for (Y/n)?" She poked her tongue out between her teeth and grinned widely but the grin started to slip when Evan shook his head and frowned like she'd just insulted him. "You get given cake- something your extremely pregnant wife loves, and you're not taking it home for her?"
"Not when I don't know who's made it." Evan brought the tuppaware box up to his eyes and squinted through the plastic. "I don't know what's in it, I'm not risking giving that to (Y/n). Do you want it?"
He could see the wheels turning in Hen's mind and she hummed, pursing her lips as she suddenly agreed with him.
It was a lovely gesture, but Evan didn't know Cara. He didn't know if she would lace the cake like one woman had done with the brownies she sent in. Evan didn't know if she would drug the cake or add some strange ingredient. It was too risky to take home to (Y/n) when Evan got a bad vibe from Cara as it was. He wasn't giving her food baked by a stranger.
(Y/n) was nine months pregnant, Evan wouldn't risk giving her something that might make her sick. He'd rather play it safe and buy her cake on the way home from shift.
"Erm, maybe not."
Evan nodded her way before he walked towards the stairs and on his way past, he tossed the box in the bin. It was a kind gesture, but he wasn't eating it and Bobby had rules. No food or drink to be accepted from strangers. It didn't matter how kind they were or what lovely intentions they had, no one should accept food. Only close friends and family could bake goods and bring them into the station.
And something told Evan not to try that cake.
***
"What are you doing?"
A gasp burned past (Y/n)'s lips and her left hand clutched the curtain rail while she flapped her right hand out. She grabbed Evan's shoulder to steady herself when she suddenly felt his hands tightly digging into her hips and his chest press up against her hips and bum.
"Evan don't do that!" She bashed her hand against his chest before she moved back to clutching his shoulder when she wobbled.
Her lips pressed into a thin line and she scowled down at her husband while he pressed his chin against her hip and stared up at her with that stern expression that made her weak at the knees. She slowly let go of the curtain rail and shuffled around on the stool until she was fully facing Evan.
Her hands held his shoulders as she hunched over in a silent plea for him to help her down.
"The curtain came down again, I was putting it back up." She mumbled when Evan locked his arms in place and kept her stood high up above him. She watched him tilt his head forward and press his lips against her bump while his hands curved round from her hips to hold the back of her waist.
He let her lean her weight down onto him and slowly eased her down until she was safely back on her feet. (Y/n)'s hands stayed on Evan's shoulders and she tilte dher head back to look up at him.
"And you thought giving me a heart attack was worth it?" His eyes darted between (Y/n) and the curtain until she leaned forward and buried her face in his chest.
He peered into the nursery and saw her standing on a stool, leaning heavily on the window. And from his angle, it looked like she was unsteady and about to fall. Evan didn't need that kind of panic when he was already on edge as it was. He had one more week of work and (Y/n) was bang on nine months now. Her due date was next week and Evan was panicking that she was going to go into labour while he was at work.
He didn't need to walk round the house and see her daring to stand on a stool like that and risk a fall.
"I've done it now, I was fine until you scared me."
"Well next time just tell me rather than risking a fall." Evan was taller, he could reach the curtain rail without straining or going on his tiptoes. (Y/n) didn't have to do it by herself when she could just tell him and he would sort it.
Her hands tightened on his shoulders and she tilted her head back so her chin was tucked into the middle of his chest. The way she batted her lashes at him made Evan's chest tighten and she knew she had won him over when his stern look faded into a soft smile.
"How do you feel today?" He let his hand slide down to cradle her stomach and his head tilted to the side. They both knew what he was actually asking.
(Y/n) looked down and let her fingers glide down Evan's arm until she cupped his wrist.
"Just kicking, they're not coming today. You can relax, baby Buckley is staying put for today." Her thumb smoothed across the back of Evan's hand which she moved to the lower right side of her stomach so he could feel a small kick.
She wasn't feeling any strange movements or feeling the baby turning round yet. No more lower back pain than usual and no dull aches or cramps anywhere that would imply labour. They still had a few more days or even a week left. Evan could go to work calm, knowing he wasn't going to miss anything today.
"Good. You're not allowed to go into labour without me."
"I know, but I'm not holding out much longer. The baby might not be ready, but I am."
"Just three more shifts, baby girl. Wait three more shifts, for me, please?" Evan lifted his hand to cup her chin and tilted her head back while he smoothed his thumb across her lower lip that he pinched to watch her take a sharp breath.
He knew (Y/n) was getting restless. He hadn't known her take so many baths as she had in the last three months, but it was where she felt most comfortable and where the baby seemed to settle and sleep. (Y/n) was tired. She thought she would of had the baby by now, she thought she wouldn't make it to her due date. But the baby seemed very comfy and cosy and (Y/n) was getting fed up of waiting.
Evan, on the other hand, was somehow containing his excitement. He had agreed with Bobby to work right up until (Y/n)'s due date because it gave him an extra two weeks off after the baby was born. Rather than taking time off in the lead up to the birth. He would rather work until (Y/n) had the baby and then he could have a few straight weeks off to be home and help her with the baby.
He had barely taken any annual leave this year so he had a lot stored up that he could take when the baby was born in case (Y/n) or the baby were ill or needed him. Or in case he had a hard time going back to work, he had a feeling he wouldn't be able to settle back at work and leave his family at home.
"Sweet-talker," (Y/n) muttered quietly before she pushed up on her toes and pressed a kiss to his lips.
He enticed a gasp from her lips when he sank his teeth into her bottom lip so he could swipe his tongue past her lips. (Y/n) could feel his hand tightening in the back of her shirt and he tugged her closer until she was tightly meshed against his front.
"You'll be late."
"Hm," He grinned and panted against her lips as his nose brushed against hers until she shook her head when it started to tickle. "You call me if you need me, even if you just feel sick. I've always got my phone on me now and if you can't get hold of me, call Bobby."
"I promise." Her lips attached to the side of his neck and she curled her arms around his shoulders to pull him down to her. Her face buried into his shoulder and she could feel his chest vibrating with a chuckle.
(Y/n) seemed to be promising Evan every shift that she would call him if she needed anything. She never did. Maddie was always popping round to check in and make sure she was alright when she knew Evan was at work and so far (Y/n) had been fine. But she knew Evan had cleared it with Bobby for (Y/n) to be able to get hold of him because if she needed him, he had to be able to answer.
Her hands trailed to his shoulders and she leaned back when Evan bent forward and pressed his lips against her stomach. His hand slipped beneath her shirt to dance across her skin because he knew it made her shimmy and squirm.
"Be good. Don't make an appearance until daddy comes home."
When Evan felt a kick near his lips, he grinned. (Y/n) tangled her fingers through his curls and steadily stroked them towards the back of his head while she rolled her eyes.
"They're definitely going to be a daddy's child."
***
"Hello?" (Y/n) tightened her hand around the door handle and tried to form a calm smile when she opened the door.
She wasn't expecting visitors today, she wasn't even sure that Maddie would stop by today or if she was at work. (Y/n) had been expecting to spend another calm day at home and tuck herself up in bed until Evan came home later on tonight.
(Y/n) didn't recognise the woman on the other side of the door. She had shoulder-length gritty blonde hair that was slightly damp from the hot weather and it made her hair curl and crimp at the ends. She had one hand curled around her bag on her shoulder and the other was planted firmly on her hip.
Whoever she was, she didn't seem happy to see (Y/n) opening the door. Had she gotten the wrong address? Was she looking for a friend or family?
"Who are you?" Her demanding question took (Y/n) by surprise and the smile faded from her lips as she clung a bit tighter to the door. It should be (Y/n) saying that, not whoever this woman was.
"I-"
"Where's Buck, is he home?"
The way she leaned to try and peer around (Y/n) into the house made a shiver crawl down (Y/n)'s spine.
So whoever she was, she clearly had the right address. She was looking for Evan. (Y/n) dared not think why this woman was looking for him, she seemed rather put-out at seeing (Y/n) instead. And the way she was tapping her foot against the doorstep made (Y/n) uneasy, it was like (Y/n) was wasting her time.
"He's at work right now… can I help you? I'm his wife." It seemed to be the wrong thing to say.
(Y/n) rolled her lips together and braced her left hand out on the wall when the woman in front of her took a stumbling step backwards. It was as if (Y/n) had gone and slapped her.
Who was she? How did she know Evan but not know that he was married? He wore a silver band on his ring finger for God's sake, that was a big giveaway. His lockscreen was a picture of them when they were on holiday and his home screen was a more daring picture of (Y/n) that not many people saw or noticed.
Evan didn't hide the fact that he was married, he told just about anyone and he had been high as a kite these last few months at the notion of being a father. His friends were mainly the people he worked with and the few friends he knew from college. All of whom (Y/n) had met and gone out with on quite a few occasions.
Their circle of friends was close-knit, small and secure. And this woman was not a part of that circle.
"His- no, he's not married." Cara's hand tightened on her hip and she tried to smirk, but the look faded again when (Y/n) simply frowned.
"Excuse me?"
(Y/n) could feel her annoyance beginning to build up like a fire ebbing away at her and growing with each passing second. She was tired, she wanted to go to bed and lie down and dwindle away the hours until Evan came home. The last thing (Y/n) wanted was an argument on her own doorstep because some derranged woman had turned up out of the blue.
"Who are you?"
"I told you, I'm his wife. He isn't here, do you want me to call him?" (Y/n) wasn't playing this silly game. She didn't have to prove that she was married to Evan. It was up to this woman to explain what she wanted Evan for and either call him herself or leave.
(Y/n) leaned her weight on the wall when the baby started to move and press down on her hips.
But when she watched the way the stranger in front of her suddenly stared down at her stomach, (Y/n) felt like wishing the ground to swallow her whole. She could feel the daggers burning into her stomach and the woman's face turned a dark shade of red like the epitome of anger was right here in front of her.
The silence was unbearable, until (Y/n) strained hard to hear what this woman was suddenly muttering under her breath. Then, (Y/n) was suddenly desperate for the silence to come back.
"Pregnant? You're having his kid? You can't be. You can't be."
It was like those were the only words this woman could comprehend and it made (Y/n) shiver.
Was this the lady who kept turning up at the station? Evan mentioned a woman kept stopping by even after she thanked him and the team for saving her. (Y/n) didn't think anything of it because Evan didn't seem to elaborate or make much of a fuss.
"I think you need to leave now."
"I'm not going anywhere!"
(Y/n) shuddered and quickly backed up when the woman smashed her hand out into the door and slammed it so violently it hit the wall and rebounded into (Y/n)'s arm. She felt a bolt of electricity shooting down her elbow towards her hand that spasmed in pain but she swallowed down a cry.
There was no time for (Y/n) to try and slam the door shut, let alone think about locking the door to keep herself and her baby safe.
Before she could move, the woman was over the threshold and pushing her way into the house.
(Y/n) tried to bash her hands out but she recoiled her hands to her chest with a gasp when something sharp caught the side of her wrist and burned down her arm.
She had a knife. A swiss army knife, to be exact.
It was a red rectangular plastic with a lot of various sized blades tucked away and even a thin set of scissors attached. (Y/n) didn't see her take that out of her bag, she moved far too quickly and it was very unsettling to know this woman carried one around with her in her bag.
"Where is he?!"
"I- I told you, he's at work- please stop. Why do you want to see him?" (Y/n) tried to swipe away the small trickle of blood from her wrist but she lashed her left hand out again when the woman moved the knife near her stomach. She wasn't going to harm the baby. (Y/n) wouldn't let her.
"I want him! He's mine- he saved me. We've been out on dates, bet you didn't know that."
It took all (Y/n) had not to roll her eyes or make a sarcastic sound. As if she would truly believe Evan could be the way he was around her and then go behind her back with someone else. He wouldn't be this clingy and attached to (Y/n) if he really was going out with someone else and he wouldn't be so excited about having their baby if he wanted to leave (Y/n).
She knew her husband and she knew he was as devoted to her as she was to him. Everyone at the station was always telling her that. Clearly this woman had either been reading the signals wrong, or she had been living in a fantasy that had just broken.
"He isn't here-"
"So call him and get him here!"
When the knife moved closer to her stomach, (Y/n) backed up into the lounge and nodded. Her hands started to tremble as she turned and looked around for her phone. This woman had to be derranged. She clearly didn't have Evan's number or she would have called him herself and unless Evan had a secret phone he wasn't telling (Y/n) about, he couldn't be having an affair.
No one nowadays had affairs where they only talked in person or through the post. This woman didn't have Evan's number, she had no way of contacting him and it was clear she had never been to the house before. Her fantasy was unravelling because she was realising Evan had a life and a family that she wasn't part of.
(Y/n) slowly pointed to her phone and picked it up just as she felt the knife press against the side of her abdomen. She couldn't make any sudden movements unless she wanted to risk harming the baby.
"H-he might not be able to answer, if he's out on a call…" (Y/n)'s fingers trembled as she unlocked her phone.
Her lips pressed together in a thin line when she looked at her home screen. Evan, lying in bed with one hand tangled in his hair and a cheesy grin on his face as he squinted up at the camera.
Her thumb hovered over Evan's icon at the bottom of her phone where two hearts surrounded 'hubby'.
"Either he answers, or he truly doesn't love you. He wouldn't leave you alone ready to pop without a way for you to contact him, would he?"
It didn't feel safe to tell this woman that they had protocols and plans in place for that kind of event. If Evan couldn't answer the phone, (Y/n) was supposed to ring Bobby. If he didn't answer, she had the fire station emergency line where someone at the station would answer and they could radio through to Evan. He would get (Y/n)'s message either way, but right now, she needed her husband to answer the phone.
God knows what this woman would do if he didn't pick up.
"What do I tell him?" She couldn't risk getting a knife to the stomach if she said the wrong thing or said something this lady didn't want her to say. (Y/n) needed to know what to do.
"Tell him to come home. Tell him Cara's here and she needs to see him, if he doesn't… I think you know what will happen."
(Y/n) let herself slump down on the sofa as she clicked Evan's icon and pressed the phone against her ear. Her free hand tangled in her hair before she moved to press the back of her hand against her mouth to stop herself from crying. But she couldn't fight off the few tears that silently slipped down the bridge of her nose.
The baby was twisting. Her stomach was flooding with adrenaline. Her body was shaking from the panic. She felt like she was going to be sick. (Y/n) wanted her husband more than ever.
"Sweetheart, everything okay? Is it time, is the baby coming?" Words rambled past Evan's lips and he couldn't see the relief on (Y/n)'s face when he started to speak. He knew she wouldn't ring him unless it was urgent or an emergency.
"Evan, can you come home please?"
"Baby are you okay?" He could hear the wobble in her voice and it made his heart clench. He would come home, she knew he would, but Evan had to know what the situation was and why he was coming home. He had to know if (Y/n) was in labour or if she had fallen or was feeling sick or felt like something was wrong. He needed the specifics.
"Cara's here, a-and she wants to talk to you… it's important, please come home."
"Cara? What's she doing at the house- how does she know where we live?" Evan tangled his fingers in the short curls at the back of his head as he spun round in a circle.
How did she know where he lived? Why had she turned up at his house and not the station?
Oh God, had she been following him to know where he lived?
"Baby are you hurt, please tell me she hasn't hurt you?"
(Y/n) darted her eyes to the left and glanced over at Cara to see if she could hear Evan through the phone or not. She looked a little calmer now but the fire was still burning in her eyes. She was sat on the arm of the sofa next to (Y/n), the army knife still dangerously close to (Y/n)'s stomach just to show her she still meant business.
When she looked up, she noticed Cara had seen her eyes darting down to the knife and something sinister flickered across her face.
"You can tell him I have a knife with me. And I will use it if he doesn't take us seriously."
"Did- she's got a fucking knife?!" Evan's feet moved before he could comprehend what he was doing or where he was going. He needed help. He needed someone to come down to his house with him. He was sure he heard Cara say she would use her knife. He couldn't have her threatening or hurting (Y/n). Especially not when she was so close to giving birth.
"Evan-" (Y/n) shuddered and took a sharp breath when the phone was suddenly snatched from her hand.
"Buck, it's me. Are you on your way?"
"What are you doing at my house? Don't you dare hurt my wife! I swear to God I'll-"
"Enough talk. You need to come home now, so you can choose who you really want to be with. You need to choose the right woman for you."
(Y/n) flinched when she heard Evan begin to yell before the call ended and Cara tossed the phone on the floor. At least Evan would be coming home soon. (Y/n) wouldn't have to be on her own with this unhinged woman for much longer.
For a little while, (Y/n) began rubbing her hands up and down her thighs and across her knees as something to distract herself. She was desperate to run her hands over her stomach and try to settle the baby but she didn't dare draw attention to her stomach. Not when the knife was still held so close to her that she could almost feel it.
Part of her prayed that Evan would bring someone from the station with him, maybe Bobby or perhaps he could get hold of Athena. But she wasn't sure what Cara would do if he turned up with anyone else and if he called the police, everything would get worse.
Both women turned to look at each other when they heard the screeching of tyres in the drive.
It had to be Evan.
"Up. Now."
A shiver rocketed through (Y/n) but she did as requested, she didn't exactly have a choice.
Her lips pressed into a thin line and her hands coiled around her chest when the knife jabbed into the left side of her waist. She could feel the jagged edge beginning to pull the threads on her shirt and if Cara pushed just a little, she would pierce through into (Y/n)'s skin.
Cara's other hand moved to grip the back of (Y/n)'s right arm and she pushed her to stand near the window just as Evan banged his knuckles on the door.
"Baby it's me." The door was open but Evan felt apprehensive about going inside. He didn't know what he was going to be walking into, he had no idea if (Y/n) was okay, if she was going to be in shock or crying or hurt or oddly calm. He didn't know what state Cara would be in either.
"You'd better be alone. No one else comes in or I'll hurt her." Cara tightened her hand on (Y/n)'s arm and kept the knife in place to stop (Y/n) from moving when they both watched Evan walk through the hall.
He had his hands out in front of him to show he wasn't about to do anything. He had Bobby waiting outside in the car, but Evan wasn't stupid enough to tell Cara that. And Bobby was on the phone to Athena who was going to send a squad car down here without lights or sirens so Cara didn't get disgruntled.
"It's just me." Evan walked around the corner and paused near the sofa.
(Y/n) saw the way his eyes darkened and his broad shoulders tensed and lifted up when he looked at them. He lowered his hands down to his sides and clenched his hands into fists while his biceps started to push against his cuffed sleeves.
A quiet 'good' murmured past Cara's lips and she smiled triumphantly while her eyes focused on Evan. He stood behind the sofa and leaned his hands down on the back of the sofa. It showed how tense his arms were and they both heard his neck crack when he twisted his head from side to side.
"Are you okay?" Evan focused his eyes on his wife. She had a cut on her right wrist but it didn't look too extensive. He could see her trembling and tears were traced down her features, but she didn't look too shook up which is all he could ask for right now.
"She's fine."
(Y/n) bit her lip but she nodded, she didn't want Evan to worry, she was as fine as she could be in this situation.
"I'd feel a lot better if you weren't holding a knife to her stomach. Can you put it down, please?" It felt horrid to try and be reasonable and bargain with Cara but Evan needed her to stop holding (Y/n) like that. She was going to hurt her or send her into shock and Evan didn't want either of those things happening.
"No. Sit down, we need to talk."
Evan locked his jaw when Cara gave (Y/n) a sudden push towards the armchair beneath the window. He watched with narrowed eyes as (Y/n) slumped down into the chair and dug her nails into the arm rest while her other hand moved to press against her stomach.
When Cara perched down on the arm rest and kept the knife against (Y/n)'s stomach, Evan moved round and sat on the very edge of the sofa. His knees spread out to the sides and his hands clasped together and hung between his knees.
"You didn't tell me about her." The way Cara inclined her head towards (Y/n) and her upper lip curled in distaste made Evan take a deep breath. "You led me on. I've been to visit you at work, I've been out with you, and no mention of her."
For a second, Evan frowned and looked up at Cara like she had grown a second head.
But then it dawned on him. He'd seen her when he was out at the shop last week. He'd seen her again when he went for a drink with Chimney and Eddie after shift. He even saw her at the gas station walking past while he was filling the jeep. Nothing about those instances had seemed strange because Cara barely spoke to him on each occasion.
Had she thought seeing him out in public meant they were going out together? Did she somehow concoct a whole story with Evan without him realising? Had she been following him instead of simply bumping into him in the street?
"I'm sorry, but you can see why I didn't tell you… I was married before I met you." Evan didn't exactly know what to say, but he knew he had to try and go along with this for a little while. He had to calm Cara down enough to get (Y/n) out the house, then he could sort out this mess. He just needed his family out the way and safe.
"Well now you have a problem. You can't have both of us, so you have to choose."
The knife pressed closer into (Y/n)'s stomach and she flinched. She shuffled as close to the right as she could until she was curled around the arm of the chair with her arms around her chest and her eyes locked on Evan.
"Will you let (Y/n) leave then, so you and me can talk in private?"
He could see she wasn't expecting that response, and Cara didn't know what to do. Evan was trying to get (Y/n) out safely, he wanted her out the house and out of harms way and Cara might be able to see that. But she also couldn't pass up the chance that Evan might just want to pick her and talk this through with her.
"What about the baby? If you leave her, will you leave the baby too?" When Cara jabbed the knife into (Y/n)'s side to prove her point, (Y/n) visibly winced and bit down her cry.
"We can talk about that when (Y/n) leaves us alone," Evan was losing his patience now, he couldn't play pretend for much longer.
Cara seemed to debate it for a few seconds before she nodded but her actions contradicted her gesture when she moved the knife and against (Y/n)'s neck. She seemed to revel in the way (Y/n) whimpered and leaned back and more tears drenched her face.
"Go upstairs. You're not leaving the house to call any of your little friends."
(Y/n) could feel the knife pressing tightly into her neck until it pierced the skin and a small trickle of blood trailed down the side of her neck, but she couldn't move. Her hands stayed locked around the arm of the chair and she closed her eyes for a few seconds. She didn't feel well enough to move. Everything within (Y/n) was telling her to move, to get up and go and keep the baby safe.
She knew Evan could look after himself, he could get the knife off Cara and calm her down until they could get the police here. But she couldn't find the will power to move when her stomach was twisting and she felt sick.
"Sweetheart," Evan chomped down on his tongue when Cara sent him a warning look. "(Y/n), go."
"Are you stupid? Move, he's told you he doesn't want you here anymore."
Tears tumbled down (Y/n)'s face and she stumbled up to her feet when Cara gave her a rough shove between the shoulders and she felt the knife slide down her neck, creating a superficial wound.
(Y/n) could feel her knees quaking but she couldn't stop the small cry from errupting past her lips when she looked down. Both her hands cradled her stomach and she darted her wild, panicked eyes to look over at Evan. She watched the way her husband tensed up and his eyes bulged in their sockets.
Her waters had broken.
"Evan…" She didn't know what she wanted to say or what she wanted her husband to do, but (Y/n) needed Evan to do something.
She cringed and pinned her elbows into her waist when Cara snagged a handful of her hair and pulled her head right back until her neck felt like it had broken.
"You've done this on purpose! This is to make sure he won't leave you- you bitch!"
"Let her go- Cara that's enough!" Evan raised his voice out of instinct and bolted up from the sofa when he saw the knife move near (Y/n)'s stomach. He couldn't let her do anything to his wife. She was frightened and in pain and now she was going to go into labour at the worst possible time. Evan had to keep them both safe and away from Cara.
(Y/n) reached her hands out for Evan when he stumbled towards her. She let out a scream when the knife swiped near her stomach just as she tried to lunge forward and pull out of Cara's tight grip on her hair.
Her hands curled around Evan's arm and she let him yank her forwards until he had her safely behind him. Evan hated the way he felt (Y/n) go down on her knees behind him and he felt her hands scratch down his back and his leg but he couldn't grab her. He had to reach forward for Cara who tried to lunge with a violent scream that almost deafened him.
The knife slashed the inside of Evan's palm but the adrenaline countered out the slight sting he barely felt. He curled his fingers around the blade and pulled until he had hold of the weapon which he launched somewhere behind him. He heard it clatter against the bannister and was satisfied it was far enough away so Cara couldn't reach for it again just as he heard the front door swing open.
"Buck?!"
Evan had never been happier to hear Bobby's voice and the thudding sound of approaching footsteps told him that someone else was in the house too. Someone else was here to help. He latched his fingers around Cara's wrist and pushed until they both stumbled and a scream tore from her lips when they clashed into the armchair.
When hands grabbed his shoulders, Evan let go and allowed whoever it was to reel him backwards until he was towards the sofa.
He realised it was Bobby who had hold of him and Athena was now stood in front of him like a bodyguard, trying to move and calm Cara enough to arrest her.
"Buck, Buck, come on, up." Bobby slipped his hands beneath Evan's arms and pulled until Evan bent his knees and managed to stand up. He could feel Bobby turning him in the right direction and giving him a helpful nudge until he moved towards (Y/n).
She was cowering down on the floor behind the sofa, one hand braced on the arm of the sofa with her other hand cradling her stomach.
Tears flooded down her face and she could barely see when Evan held her chin and tilted her head up so they were level again. His thumb swiped across her lips and (Y/n) could see his eyes raking over her to see what injuries she had. Her wrist was aching but it had already stopped bleeding, it was more of a nuisance than anything. There was a slight pinch in the left side of her stomach and (Y/n) knew Evan could see the small trickle of blood soaking into her shirt.
The knife had given her another superficial cut on the side of her abdomen that was nothing to worry about. But the look in Evan's eyes said it all; he wasn't impressed, not in the least.
(Y/n) curled her hand tightly around Evan's wrist when his hand slid round to cradle the back of her neck. He leaned closer until (Y/n) could bury her face in his neck and his other arm curved around her waist to keep her tucked up against his chest.
"Alright, alright sweetheart I've got you. It's okay." He spoke quietly into the top of her head as he felt her tears soaking into his neck and it made him shiver.
"Are you both alright?" Bobby rested his hand on Evan's shoulder as he crouched down and tried to assess them. He knew Evan's hand was bleeding, he could see the blood pooling between his fingers and trickling steadily down his wrist. But he hadn't been inside when everything turned south, Bobby hadn't seen if they had been hurt before he and Athena barged in.
"Her water broke."
"Right, then we need to take a trip down to the hospital."
(Y/n) tried to keep her face tucked up into Evan's neck but he gently reeled her back so he could look down at her again. She could feel his thumb smoothing up and down the back of her neck beneath her hair and his other hand began rubbing circles into her lower back. The smile o his face was calming, but not as much as the way his blue eyes seemed to swirl like a light was being shone in his aqua blue iris.
"Let's go have a baby."
Reactions to The Incomprehensible's Chapter 330
New title - 42. Me?
Brief summary: Cale's allies waited for news of DHB. Raon introduces egg Eden to everyone. Cale explains to his allies about the game world, Eden's situation, and his plate.
==========
Today had lots of funny moments. First up was Eruhaben. He was thinking about how he always treated DHB as a kid even though DHB was the third oldest among Cale's allies. So Eruhaben decided that from now on, he should now treat DHB as an adult and an equal...
Imagine his shock when he meets DHB as... a dragon egg. 🤣🤣🤣 Eruhaben stood there for a long time, dumbfounded. 🤣🤣🤣
Sheritt was relieved to hear that DHB was saved, though we did not get to see her reaction upon meeting egg Eden. Meanwhile, the two kittens treated Eden as their new youngest. 🥰🥰🥰
And the way Raon introduced egg Eden Miru to everyone was like this Lion King scene:
Tumblr media
Eden was so embarrassed at all the attention and affection he was receiving that the egg was shaking from embarrassment. 😂
When Cale explained about the game world, On and CH snitched on what Cale had been doing. 🤣🤣🤣
Cale: explains to everyone about the game world Eru: Wait. More than that-... Are you saying that you're called the Worst in the game? Cale: Umm... I didn't say that On: Yes, he's the Worst. HD: Interesting. I'll guard this place. I don't understand what you guys are talking about anyway. On and CH: He also has angel blood mixed in. Lock: Wow, he's an angel? CH: He also has demon blood mixed in. Currently, Cale-nim is the boss of the 3rd and 7th Evils among the Eight Evils. This will be of great help when fighting enemies in New World in the future. Eru: Sigh. Well, increasing your work is a talent too. Cale: feels wronged No, I didn't mean to? Cale: Really! It just happened on its own even when I stayed still, okay? Of course, I threatened the Vicious Dark Bear to get the 7th Evil. But the rest just happened without me knowing! Eru: Pfft. Narrator: Eruhaben didn't believe a single word Cale said. Cale felt wronged.
"Increasing your work is a talent too." 😂😂😂 Eruhaben stabbing Cale where it hurts. 😂😂😂 And Cale feeling wronged because "it just happened without him intending to"... 🤣🤣🤣 Cale, how can you achieve slacker life if you have a talent for increasing work? 😂😂😂
Lastly was Cale explaining on what happened to his plate... 🤣🤣🤣
Cale: I have no plate anymore. The heart and glutton inside me ate the plate full of dust. Of course, the life force of the world made this process easier. Eru: …Your heart ate it? Cale: *excitedly explains how his plate turned to dust and scattered into his blood, making his body stronger. Also how he will be fine as long as his heart was okay and his blood was flowing fine* Cale: You could say that it’s like my whole body has become the plate. Isn't that a wonderful thing? Narrator: Cale couldn't help but laugh. Cale: Hahahaha! Narrator: Then Cale laughed and realized. Cale: Hahaha…haha…ha… Narrator: That he was the only one laughing. For some reason, his allies's expressions were vicious. Cale sipped his lemon tea cautiously. And he muttered timidly. Cale: Umm, I got stronger.
Cale, I think you need to explain first about your ancient powers. I'm sure they're confused about your "heart" and "the glutton inside me" eating your plate... 😂😂😂
Then casually explaining that your plate broke so badly it turned to dust. Mila turned pale and had to be supported by Dodori. Eruhaben clenched his fist. And Rasheel looked like he was about to cry as he questioned why Cale was still alive then. 😂😂😂
Cale laughing out loud and stopping when he realized that everyone was looking at him viciously afterwards... 🤣🤣🤣 You'll be fine as long as your heart was okay and your blood was flowing? Who's the one who once stabbed his heart? Who's the one who constantly bled? You think everyone will be relieved to hear that "you'll be fine"? 🤣🤣🤣
Ending Remarks It seems the Aipotu arc is nearing its end. The glutton priestess eating Cale's plate though... Crybaby, why are you saying she's scary when you ate it too? Anyway, next chapter will be about Alberu's call to Cale. I can already imagine him saying "You're driving me nuts" once he hears what Cale had been up to. 😂😂😂
laugh till you cry
Pairing: Portgas D. Ace x F!Reader
Summary - this is based off the song Laugh Till You Cry by Faydee. One of his exes returns to wreak havoc on your relationship and win him back, but he's already too obsessed with you to even look her way.
Warnings - my first time writing for Ace but I absolutely adore him ❤❤
Tumblr media
"Did anybody tell you you look better with your makeup on?
Did anybody tell you you don't matter to me anymore?
I was your joke, you were my heart
You played me well like a deck of cards
I see the tears run down your face
What, you think my mind is gonna change?
And I'm like"
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no
You're gonna have to let this go
Didn't wanna say I told you so oh oh
But someone had to let you know
And if you think your tears are gonna change my mind
I'm not gonna waste your time
I'll remind you what I told you
You'd be laughing until you cry
I told ya
You'd be laughing 'til you cry, cry back to me
You'd be laughing 'til you cry, cry back to me"
**********
You didn't know much about Ace's past relationships. He preferred to keep you in the dark about that, thinking you were better off not knowing about his ex-girlfriends. You were inclined to agree, but that just meant you weren't prepared for what would take place at this new island you stopped by.
When Ace recognised it, he froze and his eyes widened.
"Ace?" You touched his arm gently, "Is something wrong?"
He snapped out of it, turning to you with a goofy smile, "Forget about exploring, let's go back to the room and cuddle."
"I don't usually have objections to that, but I kind of wanted to look around," you pouted.
And he was sold. There were a lot of things Ace could fight and win against, but you were not one of them. He was a sucker for you, and when you pouted like that he couldn't help but give in to whatever demand you were making.
"Fine, but I'm holding you responsible for whatever happens to me," he teased, sliding his arm around your waist. If there's one thing you loved the most about him, it was his constant need to be touching you in some way.
"Fine by me," you laughed and trudged off with him.
The downside to dating Ace was that he got sidetracked VERY easily, and you only noticed he had left your side when you were trying to show him a cute necklace inside one of the stores. You panicked, but you knew where to look. Ace would only dare let you for one thing.
Food.
You went around looking through all the little restaurants and bars that the island had to offer, finding him in the third one you visited. He was practically inhaling what looked like spaghetti, but you couldn't be sure since it was disappearing into his mouth so quickly.
"Ace!"
You had just been about to call out to him when someone beat you to it, and you turned to see a young woman making her way towards him. She was beautiful. It almost intimidated you, but then you remembered who your boyfriend was, and you were fine. That is, until she sat next to him and touched his arm, leaning in close.
"What do you want?" You heard him grumble with his mouth full, something you had told him many times not to do - because it was rude. You smiled and watched the scene unfold from afar, trusting your goofy boyfriend.
Before she could even speak, though, he was fast asleep. You giggled, being used to this, as the woman stared in shock with her jaw dropped. He jerked awake minutes later, resuming his frantic spaghetti consumption.
"As I was saying," she purred, running her hand along his bicep, "You look good."
"Can't say the same about you," was his instant reply, and you had to stifle your laugh so you wouldn't be spotted. "Look (Random Name), just let it it go. You don't matter to me at all anymore."
She frowned, apparently hurt, "But what we had was so good, you can't tell me-"
"If you think I'll take you back, you must be dreaming," the dark haired 2nd Division Commander cut her off, again with a mouthful. "You're not going to change my mind."
She suddenly burst into tears, begging and pleading with him and trying to convince him she was sorry. Ace ignored her for the most part, only saying one thing to her.
"You treated me like a joke, so don't come crying back to me. Besides, I already have an awesome girlfriend."
You smiled at his words, choosing that moment to walk over and stand behind him, rubbing his bare shoulders, "There you are."
He visibly lit up at your touch, like your fingers had jolted some energy into him. Within seconds, he had you on his lap with his arms tightly wound around your waist, nuzzling his face against your neck. Completely forgetting about his ex that sat there and stared in horror.
"I think I need to get you a leash," you said teasingly, running your fingers through his hair.
He shot you a devious grin, "That wouldn't be the worst thing."
Your eyes widened, immediately picking up on the dirty thoughts behind those words, "Ace!"
He laughed and kissed your cheek, staining it with sauce from his meal. But he was smiling at you so lovingly, absolutely dazed with love and adoration for you, that you found it incredibly difficult to get mad at him.
"I love you," he kissed your cheek again, making you giggle at the sensation of the sauce coupled with his lips.
"I love you too, but at least clean up first!"
He suddenly licked your cheek clean, "Done."
Your face was so red, your cheeks burning so much that you thought you might explode. Ace was not one to shy away from PDA, even the PG18+ kind. His ex was long gone, having seen for herself that he was only interested in one person, and that was you. Anyone could see how obsessed and in love Ace was with you, and it warmed your heart to know he would unashamedly express his love no matter where you were.
"Can we go back to the ship now?" He asked, twirling a bit of your hair around his index finger.
"Fine," you gave in, smiling. "I think I've explored enough."
With that, he happily lifted you up and despite your protests that you could walk, carried you all the way back to the ship just so he could lay you on his bed and spoon you.
You decided to do it differently this time, and repositioned you both so that you were spooning him. He was about to protest, but you cut him off.
"I want to sleep like this, babe. Besides, you look cute like this." You kissed the top of his head, and he melted into your embrace. "Are you okay?"
"Mhm, you're so comfortable," was his response.
"No, I mean...after today," you spoke carefully.
He shifted his weight so he could turn to look at you, "Of course." Then he feigned confusion, "Wait...what are you talking about?"
You shook your head with a smile, "I just want to make sure you're okay. Emotionally. You know I love you more than anything, and I want to make sure you feel nothing but happiness."
His heart swelled at your words. He was truly lucky to have someone who loved him so much. He leaned in and kissed you deeply, slowly, letting his kiss convey how much your words meant to him - how much YOU meant to him.
"Are you okay?"
Your brows furrowed in confusion, "Me? I'm fine. I trust you, you know."
He offered you a lopsided grin, "Good cause you're the only one I want."
Then he smothered you with a hug, peppering your face with kisses before you could say anything else. You sighed contentedly, knowing there was no way you could ever feel jealous or insecure with this lovebug around.
The Book Burrow [Ghost]
Tumblr media
[Masterlist] || Requests are Open || GIF by hollow-epitaph
cw: Simon using an identity to hide from his previous job?, n/a
Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis: The dodgy bar down the street was turned into a bookstore a few months earlier in your town and its the last place to try to find the book series your friend recommended to you.
Tumblr media
The darkly tinted windows showed your reflection as you squinted, trying to peer inside to discern whether this was truly a bookstore or a bar with a gimmick. It'd previously been a bar that was shut down so the bar seemed the more likely scenario in your mind. The odd hours on the door mirrored that of any bar in the area, perhaps opening a little earlier.
Your teeth gnaw on your bottom lip. There was a singular book series you have been trying to find for the past week and the author listed this place specifically on their website. It seemed odd that an author would promote a specific, new maybe-bar bookstore.
While you've been in bars before, they didn't give you any joy to spend time there. The smell of alcohol made your stomach churn most days. You take a deep breath, gripping the handle firmly and tugging on it.
It opens with a creak of its hinges and you smell.. coffee. It's not so strong that it assaults your nose. It wraps around your figure, drawing you further into the building. Your eyes glitter with the scene before you: a legitimate bookstore, no booze included.
Shelves, sparsely populated with books, stand under large handwritten signs marking each section. You tilt your head, realizing the labels aren’t what you'd expect.
The traditional genre labels of "fiction", "romance" or even "nonfiction" have been superseded by handwritten replacements. Each section has it a descriptive tag hanging down above it -- 'Better than Stephen King', 'Mostly Accurate Espionage', 'Horrible Backstory with Good Story', and 'Monster dating'.
Laughter bubbles out of your throat. You approach the 'Monster Dating' section, plucking a random book to scan over the synopsis of it. It's indeed about dating in a fantasy universe where Werewolves and other things go bump in the night.
Engrossed in the first few pages, you don't notice the presence behind you until a throat clears. You jump, snapping the book closed and turning to face a man an intimidating aura to him. He's bulky, the t-shirt stretching over obvious muscles while his face is obscured by a half-mask with a skull's upper and lower jaw printed on it.
"Anything I can help you with?" His voice is full of gravel like his words claw their way out of his throat.
Clutching the book to your chest, you stammer, "I'm looking for a series by Grace Kirkly?"
"Oh." He mutters, motioning you to follow him with two fingers.
The floorboards creak under your steps as you follow him to the counter. He steps to his left, motioning to the display right beside the counter. Your eyes light up as you see the sale sign - twenty percent knocked off the first book, fifteen percent off the second book when purchased together.
You pick up the books, happy to be able to buy all three books in the series in one go. "Thank you."
The books land on the counter with a heavy thump while he rounds the counter. His eyes feel heavy on you as you timidly put the 'monster boyfriend' book on the counter as well.
"Ever read 'em?" He questions, scanning each book leisurely.
"No, a friend recommended her to me." You respond, digging your card out of your purse to hand it over.
"For the series, the first book is more setting up for the second. I enjoyed the second's descriptiveness during the sex scenes. The third shows he's growing as a writer, too." He tore off a patch of brown paper, centering your books on them. "The other book you picked up is a personal favorite of mine."
He creases the brown paper with sharp folds, making the stack of four books look like a singular box. He rolls a piece of tape on top then holds his hand out for your card. You hand it over quickly, a question balancing on the tip of your tongue.
"I thought Grace was a woman. Do you.. read a lot?" As soon as the question leaves your mouth, you feel stupid. He works in a bookstore - he can read as many books as he wants for free, most likely.
He swipes the card then lays it on the counter between you two, his gaze sharp. "Every book in my shop has been read by me. I didn't want to put anything I couldn't say was good on the shelves."
"So the signs are..?"
"It's nice to walk into a place and know exactly what you're getting." He grabs a small card, punching two holes into it before sliding it and your card toward you. "Tenth punch is a free book."
Your eyes read over the card's information - ten little skulls line edges of the card. In the middle is the shop's name - The Book Burrow and under that - Managed by Morys Neil.
Your eyes meet his again, a smile on your lips, "Thank you, Mister Neil."
"I can show you similar authors if you enjoy Grace Kirkly when you return." Morys leaned on the counter, picking up a book from under it to start reading. His combat boots land on the edge of the counter next to your books as he settles into his chair.
"I'll try to get through them as quickly as possible then." The words leave your mouth and a moment later, you realize how flirtatious it sounds.
His eyes leave the book momentarily, "Anticipation is the best part of any story. No need to rush to see me."
Boyfriend experience
Wednesday
The weight of your boyfriend's head on your shoulder made you quickly turn to him, finding him with his eyes half closed as he fought with his life to keep them open. He quickly made the attempt to sit straight, but his head didn't take long to start falling to the side softly as his eyes slowly closed at the same time, just to suddenly open when he was aware of how his body was leaning to the front a bit faster the deeper he fell asleep.
He was trying his best to stay awake, only because you wanted to watch that movie with him.
"Babe, let's go to sleep" you tried to convince him for the third time that night.
"Why? I'm awake" San insisted, making an effort to show off how he wasn't tired, although his puffy eyelids and the small marked circles underneath his eyes made it obvious enough for you. "Let's keep watching the movie".
You knew where all that stubbornness was coming from. And you also knew there would be no way to get San to change his mind after he convinced himself he'd be able to stay awake, although he hadn't been able to sleep properly for the past two days. He finally had a few days to get some rest, as his schedules cleared up a bit after coming and going to different places, but he kept pushing himself to the edge.
After you had gone forward with the promotion, San promised you he'd spend that last week with you as if nothing else mattered. In any other circumstance, he'd just agree with you on meeting on a different day if he felt his body wasn't going to handle it, but those last days he didn't care about it. He'd even crawl to your place if that meant he'd get to be with you as much as possible.
He just didn't want to regret not spending as much time as he could once you were gone.
His arm wrapped around you, changing the position of your bodies so you'd be lying on his side, while he leaned his body a bit more onto the armrest, to get his head to find some support in the palm of his hand.
That position was the killing shot for him. After fifteen minutes, you managed to look at him over his shoulder, finding him completely knocked out. His arm was stretched over the armrest, and his head had fallen over his bicep, his eyes were closed and his lips slightly parted as he finally allowed his body to get that well-deserved sleep.
"Love, let's go to sleep" you insisted again.
You didn't want to wake him up, but you also didn't want him to sleep in such an uncomfortable position.
"Stay here" he mumbled. "I don't want you to go".
You'd have thought he was awake, but the way his words sounded sloppy while being dragged with his tongue, and how he licked his lips to moisten them to proceed to close his mouth and keep sleeping, told you he was indeed asleep.
Hearing those words from him only made sense if he was asleep. And that, somehow, hurted you even more, because he hated the idea of you leaving as much as you did, but he still put on a facade, hiding his feelings so you wouldn't feel discouraged to do it. It made your heart ache to think that he believed he had to hold it in for you.
That night you curled up to him tighter than ever, not wanting to let go of him and everything that he meant for you.
Thursday
His hand was squeezing yours as you walked down the street. San picked you up at home, changing your plans last minute because he came up with a surprise out of nowhere, which he tried to avoid telling you about so he wouldn't ruin it. And you could tell he had most definitely avoided giving in to your interrogation tactics by avoiding speaking at all, with the only exception of telling you to hurry up or follow him.
Until he stopped in front of a closed establishment. You didn't know why you were there. The inside was dark, you could barely see further than what the lights of the street allowed you to.
"We shouldn't be doing this" you tried to stop him, holding onto his sleeve when he pulled the door open.
With everything that was going on in your lives, the last thing you needed was to have him involved in a scandal after breaking into someone else's establishment.
Your grip on the sleeve of his sweater got tighter when he stepped inside, waiting for you to do the same "If someone catches us..."
"Do you trust me?"
"Of course, but..." before you could go on to point out the several reasons why you shouldn't be taking a step inside, San threw the most convincing tone you could've ever heard with those three words.
"Then follow me" he gently got rid of your grip, moving his right arm only so he could offer his left hand for you to hold it.
Even in that dim space, and only lightened up by the street lamps, you were able to see the way his eyes shined as he offered his hand to you, and it took you less than a second to hold it.
After he closed the main door behind you, and started walking among the darkness, only guided by some shadows on the floor, you were expecting for the alarm to blast at any point. All that nervousness was left behind after he crossed another door, leading up to a completely lightened up room, where there was an old lady sitting at one side of the table positioned in the middle of the room.
She quickly stood up and bowed to you two, getting the same greeting as an answer, although yours was a hesitant move, still unsure of what you were doing there, and why that lady with a brown apron seemed to be waiting for you.
"You've always wanted to do this" he started explaining, picking up one of the aprons hanging on the backrest of one of the chairs. "But for obvious reasons we couldn't" he sighed, stepping in front of you, "I managed to find a way to do it... Well, actually, Yunho did" his voice sound so soft as he explained himself, carefully moving around you to place the apron over your clothes. "Her daughter is a fan".
"What did you promise her?" you asked in a whisper.
"Free tickets for the concert, in exchange of keeping it hush hush from her daughter and sns" San answered in the same tone. "And maybe ten photocards signed by Hongjoong, but we'll worry about that another day".
The whole process of creating couple rings right from the start was something new and fun, but there was something so meaningful about it. Because it wasn't only the objects, it was how San pouted whenever he missed something, or the way the tip of your tongue stuck out when you were focused on engraving your initials together on the inside, or your laughs when San gasped when the old lady used the blowtorch to give shape to San's ring, or the way you exchanged looks whenever you had the chance. It was all of you and your feelings in those rings.
"This is so you don't forget who you belong to" he mentioned with a serious look, lifting your done ring in the air.
"As if I was thinking about that" you challenged him, letting him place the ring on your ring finger. "You'll be hearing more from me in Seattle than now".
"I hope so" he nodded, handing his ring to you so you'd put it on him the same way he did to you. Your thumb gently caressed his finger, letting out a sad smile take over your face.
There was something you wanted to ask, but you didn't dare to question out loud until you finally left the store with your new rings.
"Do you really want me to go?" the question came out so suddenly, and so out of nowhere after a few minutes, that it took San by surprise, not sure of why you were asking that.
"Is that a tricky question?" his eyes squinted
He left in the morning before you could even talk with him about what he mumbled in his sleep, and he dragged you out of home so fast that you barely had time to talk until you arrived at that shop.
"You've said what I wanted to hear, or what you think I want to hear ever since I told you. But I want to know what you really think, and what you really want. If you don't want me to leave, I can give up on..."
"Give up? Hey" his eyebrows were slightly furrowed at even the idea of you rejecting that opportunity for him. "You think it'd make me happy to see you turn down that offer because I said so? If we weren't together, you'd be thrilled for that promotion and you wouldn't have thought about it twice" your lips were pressed together when he described that reality. "Of course I don't want you to leave. I'd be tied at your hip if I could. But I also understand I can't push you back. You've always been supportive, and molding to my schedules and my life. And it's about time I do the same for you. I've always said you're my main priority, and your happiness takes part in that" his eyes were fixed on yours, although a few times they always ended up moving somewhere else in the street. "This will be a phase, to make us stronger" he assured you, cupping your cheeks, "We should take it as a long ass tour. We'll be back to each other before we can even think about it. Until that time comes, let's just enjoy this week together, hmm?".
Your arms wrapped around his body like that was the only place you wanted to be glued to, hiding your face on his chest while he completely covered your body in a big hug
Friday
You didn't think there was something weird with the way your boyfriend was dressed, with those unusual black baggy pants and oversized t-shirt, with his head being completely covered by a bucket hat and some random drawings covering his arms -until the edge of his sleeve- with black ink.
"Are those tattoos?" you finally asked in the car, moving your fingers over his skin to try to check what they were.
"Don't do that. It tickles" he moved his arm slightly, smiling before he answered. "They're fake. One of the stylists had it for a video performance, but we never ended up using it, so I asked him and he gave it to me to use today".
"Now that we're on it: aren't you supposed to be rehearsing right now?" your eyes squinted as you interrogated him.
San just shrugged, nodding at the same time he let you know he just didn't care "It's your last week. Yesterday I already spent way too much time outside, and I even fell asleep on Wednesday. The boys understood, so it should be alright" a low sigh announced the continuation of his explanation "It'll be just five days".
As he stopped the car, it made sense for you why he suddenly changed the way he dressed, or why he added those fake tattoos over his body. He wanted to be with you out in the open.
"I mean, it's a bit more effort than those celebs who think it's all done with a cap and shades" you pulled from the visor of his hat, making him whine and move your hands away.
"I also have a mask, so when I take off the hat in the attraction, they won't see my full face" he explained.
"Wouldn't that drag more attention on you?"
"That's why I'm using the tattoos" he explained as if it were obvious. "If someone thinks I'm famous, they'll check the tattoos and move on".
"It's concerning how much you've thought about this".
You were teasing him, and he knew it by the funny smile you had on your face before you started walking to the entrance. San moved fast though, intertwining your fingers together, holding your hand like he was going to do for the rest of the day.
Saturday
Another gasp came out with some splash from the water as you sank his arm into the sink filled with warm water. After his idea of disguising as someone else in the theme park turned out well, or so you thought, San found the rest of the morning trying to get rid of the fake tattoos with no luck.
"What the hell is this tattoo made of?" you kept rubbing the sponge on his skin. "I bet a real tattoo would be easier to erase than this".
"Today is the party, I can't show up like this" he complained.
"What party?" you suddenly stopped after what he said, looking up to him.
His eyes momentarily went big, quickly avoiding yours and concentrating back in his arm. "Party? What party?".
"You said today is the party" the emphasis on each word fell on San's back like a heavy bag.
He ruined the surprise, after he had told everyone to keep it quiet for you.
"I organized a party for you" he sighed, almost moving his arms out of the sink, but being kept from doing it by your hand holding tight on his upper arm. "I wanted you to take a good memory to Seattle, I invited some of our friends, the boys, even my parents are going to come... I told everyone not to tell you".
You could tell how disappointed he was at himself for ruining the surprise so easily, after all the effort he had put in it and keeping it a secret since he started preparing it.
"I'll pretend I'm surprised for you" you assured him, standing on your tiptoes to kiss his cheek. "Now we really need to get rid of this".
Sunday
You were used to San spoiling you, but so much and so many days in a row? It felt like you were in paradise. You had been telling him constantly he didn't need to do all of that, you tried to assure him it was enough with just having him around, especially after how tired he probably was after the previous night's party.
Yet there he was. Whenever you needed something, he brought it to you. Whenever you were hungry, he prepared something for you. And whenever you wanted to do something, he'd agree without a single trail of doubt.
"I can't enjoy it" your head shook, as your eyebrows furrowed and your lips grimaced when you won the game.
"You literally humiliated me. I've never had such a bad time playing Monopoly".
"How do I know you didn't let me win?"
"Are you kidding?" he pointed to the board, "I even bought the blue ones, but you didn't fall on them a single time. We should've stopped playing after I gave you two of my properties" teasingly, he threw the fake money.
"What can I say? I'm good with business".
Your smile made him forget about everything he was complaining about, feeling happy and in the right place just by seeing those wrinkles in the corners of your eyes as your lips curved up with pride. Whatever happened, however that new experience turned out, he was sure he'd do everything in his hand to keep you smiling that way. Thinking about having to see that smile through a screen was something that killed him the few months he left for a concert, but it always made him feel better to know he'd see it in person after a short while, but now you both were entering that difficult phase where neither of you knew when would be the next time you'll be together like that, without worrying about taking a flight back home, because you two were in the same place together.
You had started picking up all the pieces to put them inside the box when he said: "Are you good at dancing, too?".
"You know I'm not" you chuckled, resting your hands at the edge of the small table.
San seemed to ignore your answer, because he got up from the floor either way and reached his hand to you, waiting for you to take it. You were still as confused, but it didn't stop you from taking his hand and standing in front of him, allowing him to guide you to one side of the living room.
"So suddenly?" you asked when his hand moved to your waist.
It wasn't like that was one thing out of the ordinary. Your boyfriend was a hopeless romantic, and whatever idea that could make him feel like he was in a movie, he'd do it without thinking about it twice. And you always followed along, feeling full with those small gestures, because there wasn't anything more meaningful than those bright eyes looking down at you as if you were the most important in the world, while he guided your body with gentle moves.
Your cheek rested over your hand on his shoulder, while your nose rubbed a few times against his neck, trying to memorize his smell as well as you could.
"Did you improve your dancing skills?" he teased you, speaking before you could remind him of the pain he was trying to leave aside. "You haven't stepped on me yet".
"Is that an invitation for me to do it?".
San simply smiled, leaning over to link your lips together as you kept turning slowly on your feet. There was no music, but it was the best dance he had done in a long time.
Monday
"Three kids" he quickly said, finishing his map.
At that time, you were regretting ever teaching him that random game a few weeks back when you were bored. Every few seconds, he'd break the silence and lift his head to look at you over the folds of your t-shirt, momentarily freeing you from the weight of it on your chest.
"Three kids... Are you insane?" you took the notebook away from him.
Where there should be the three crushes' names, he had put: dog, cat, other. Looking below, you could see how excitedly he had encircled the number three, related to the number of kids he would have, and even lower, he had written three different professions: singer, writer, personal trainer.
"Why did you even include writer? You don't ever let anyone read your poems"
"Now I'm an idol, nobody should be allowed to read them"
And he did really mean it. Nobody, not even you, had ever read one of his poems.
"And personal trainer?" you chuckled.
"I didn't know what else to put there" he excused himself. "It was the first to go, luckily. It isn't meant to happen".
"Hey, in the location you didn't even write real places: Y/n's heart, my heart, anywhere... This is cheesy even for me" San snatched the notebook from your hands, giving it another read.
"I didn't want to put a real place" he shrugged. "Wherever it is, it's not important. What matters is that we're together" his tone quickly changed as he focused on another part of the game. "We'll get married in five years, right after I return from military service. Hmm, here it says it'll be in winter, but we could ignore it and get married in spring".
"Yeah, that sounds better" you nodded, playing along. "Hmm, I've always thought of getting married out in the open, with a cute dress with my shoulders exposed. I can't do that in winter".
"Why don't you do it and see what turns out?".
You'd have liked to pretend you didn't want to do it, but just the idea of planning your future together sounded exciting and tempting itself. It was a conversation you had a few times already, although it never seemed as serious as that evening.
It almost sounded like a promise between you two.
The smile on your face couldn't be hidden as you quickly sat up, starting to write all those details in a whole new sheet.
Tuesday
"I don't get why we're doing this" he complained, surrounding the bed with deep steps until he was standing on the side opposite to yours.
"Because you said you wanted us to remember this night for a long time" you giggled, quoting him a few minutes back when he was kissing you while you were on top of him. "And we will" you assured him.
"Yes, I'll remember this as the night my girlfriend..."
"Are you complaining?" you warned him, lifting your index in his direction, "Because you said you'd do everything I wanted to do on our last night". A click of tongue confirmed you were starting to get annoyed "Don't you trust me?"
"I do" by the way his lips opened again right after, you were sure he was about to speak, but you interrupted him before he could.
"Then choose three songs. The sexiest songs you can come up with" he sighed, finally giving in and picking his phone out of his pocket to look for the songs that could fit the mood you wanted to build.
He just couldn't resist you whenever you came up with an idea, it was so special whenever you confessed what you wanted to do. It showed how deep the trust was between you two, how your relationship was so safe in every aspect, that he only wanted to build it stronger. So San chose those three songs carefully, scrolling through his general playlist until he found them.
When he turned to you again, your lip was trapped under your upper teeth, and your gaze was eager for more than just him. San left his phone over the nightstand, following your guidance before you told him to get naked together, where you were standing in that moment, working on your respective clothings until you were completely naked in front of one another, with a distance that seemed like kilometers.
The hairs in your body raised as he scanned your naked body among the darkness, delicately looking at you from head to where the edge of the bed allowed him to see. And you did the same, making him feel suddenly nervous and exposed for the first time in those almost two years of relationship.
Under your guidance, he sat in the middle of the bed, following your movements while you crawled over the mattress to where he was, only moving away from him to pick up the phone.
"We can't speak and we can't touch each other while the first song plays" you warned him.
"What do you mean I can't touch you?" he whined as you joined him in the middle of the bed, placing your legs around his waist.
"You can't" you firmly shook your head. "If you do, I'll replay the song. When the second one starts, we'll be able to touch each other, kiss and speak. And, with the third one, everything will be allowed. Got it?".
Aware that you were waiting for him to answer, he nodded "Got it".
After he nodded for one last time, you finally clicked on the play button. Just a second later, a slow and sensual bhangra melody filled the room, covering your heavy breathing. You had to hold back from speaking out loud and congratulating him for picking such a good song. Ride it by Jay Sean would've been in your list if you had been in charge of it.
Touchin' and teasin' me, tellin' me no
The second your eyes met, you could see the way he was trying to hold his breath, piling up every effort to keep his hands away from you. You knew your boyfriend for long enough to know that he was going to speak before he emitted a sound.
"You look beautiful tonight".
"Babe" you whined. "We can't speak, remember?".
"I know. But I needed to tell you".
"Then tell me through your eyes" both of your fingers pointed at your eyes, to later point at his. "Let's focus on each other, hmm? Look at every detail, let your head imagine and your body feel".
Twisting his lips again, he nodded. And while it seemed like he had it all under control, his voice suddenly sounded over the music again "Will I be able to tell you through my eyes?".
"Babe, you have the most expressive eyes I've ever seen in my life. You'll be able to" you assured him. "Let's try it again".
San closed his eyes, trying to focus and gain some control back, after suddenly feeling so nervous under your gaze. It was such an intimate moment, that he didn't really know how to deal with it silently. He felt so exposed, yet so connected to you when your eyes met, that he felt tickles in his body when you gave him a tiny sided smile to let him know you were feeling the same way. He wasn't touching you, but you could feel the warmth of his body almost coating yours, his forearms were on each side of your ankles, but it felt like they were searing your skin.
Your eyes, and the lyrics of that song, were the only way you had to communicate everything you wanted to do to each other right in that moment. He was craving your voice, and hearing you whimper with every touch of his fingertips on your soft skin, while you were dying to cover his lips with yours, finding them more tempting than ever before.
You wanted to feel each other, you wanted to hear each other, you wanted to lose control together... But the last minute of the song kept you from doing so, almost feeling like there was a chain keeping your hands away from each other as you battled your deeper wants.
The seductive sound of a trumpet marked the ending of the first phase, and the beginning of the second one. You recognised the song almost instantly, moving closer to him to wrap your arms around his neck. Chase Atlantic was never his cup of tea, but he still chose Slow Down for that moment.
"I thought you said you didn't like this song" you teased him, sinking your fingers slowly in his hair.
"I don't, but it reminds me of you" he confessed, finally moving his fingers over your calves, "and how pretty you looked while I fucked you in the backseat of my car".
Just hearing those words coming out of him made your core throb with need, and the images replaying in your head made it feel so vivid that you could almost feel every inch of his dick rubbing against your walls and making you curl your toes inside the sneakers you wore that night. That song started playing when you two moved to the back, and he started pounding into you from behind after you had teased him on his lap.
"Did I?" you purred against his lips. "You always look so hot when you show how bigger and stronger you are, maybe that had a lot to do with how I looked" your lips traced his marked jaw, slightly sticking out the tip of your tongue.
He gulped so loud that you could hear and feel the moment the spit went down his throat when your lips met the freckles of his neck. You knew how sensitive that spot had always been for him.
For a second, he had you under his charm, you were under his control by how quick he was using the dirty talk to make you weaker, but you clapped back quite fast, making him suddenly nervous by how soft and seductive your voice sounded at the same time.
He remembered how insecure and lost you were on your first times, and how slowly you became the woman you were then: fierce, sexy, free... And what made him twitch between your bodies was thinking that he was the only one that saw that change.
You kissed him first, sucking his lower lip so delicately that he thought his whole body paralyzed with the way you trapped him. But your head quickly moved back before he could make the kiss go deeper.
He tried once, twice... always with the same result. Until he hooked your jaw in his fingers with a growl, moving your face to him to link your lips together just the way he wanted to have you. His tongue moved first, sneaking through your lips to make you gasp when it twirled around yours.
The first song had made you so sensitive and needy for his touch that the slight rub of his tongue on yours had you clenching around nothing, and grinding your hips against his hard-on for some friction.
"Babe, I thought you said I should take it easy" he broke the kiss to tease you for your own desperation. "You need me so bad?".
"Uh-hum" you licked your lips, cleaning all the remains of your mixed spits on them. "I need to feel you stretching me out as good as you know" you purred against his lips, but he only smirked in response.
He had insisted on saving up all the energy for your last night together, to make it more special for the both of you. And just for that same reason, you came up with the idea of doing tantric sex to start the night -after reading it on a book-, but it only ended up with you being victim of your own torture.
Your breathing instantly cut when two of his fingers moved over your clit, slowly and gently rubbing in eight-shapes traces. San had to control himself from surrendering to you after he met your folds, finding them completely soaked in your arousal.
"The song hasn't finished yet. Don't try to tempt me" almost covering your body, he leaned over you to whisper in your ear. "This was your idea".
Your breathing was faster, and your hips seemed to find a way to move by themselves, lifting every single time against his digits. You were so trapped when he kissed you again, that you didn't know when your fingers hooked around his wrist and moved his fingers down your pussy.
"What do you want?" he hissed against your lips, dedicating you one of those filthy looks that just made you want to do all the nasty things that came up to mind.
"Finger me" your voice sounded weak, but your petition was so determined that it almost sounded like you were begging.
A sigh escaped your lips as you felt two of his fingers pushing inside your entrance, getting deeper until he was knuckles deep in you.
He never went too fast, his finger never curled in your insides to reach that glorious spot, he just kept you there hanging as his digits pounded in and out of you so slowly that you were sure he was just trying to drive you crazy.
But two could play that game.
Millimeters away from his lips, you spit on your hand to guide it to his hard shaft, while your other hand pushed him to your lips by his nape. He groaned during the kiss while your fingers moved over his dick, coating it with the saliva before you wrapped them around it and started moving your fingers up and down, barely adding any pressure.
That kiss turned so hungry, so savage, that you both knew it was only a declaration of how much you both needed each other at that point of the game. While neither of you wanted to give in first, you were almost praying the other surrendered and took the next step before the song ended.
The pop-rock R&B music stopped, letting a slower indie rock song start. You both looked at each other knowing exactly what it meant: the start of the third phase.
"New rule: we can't touch each other until..."
You didn't let him finish, pushing his body onto the mattress to straddle his body with one leg on each side of his hips. But San was faster, holding your body and making the two of you roll so he was on top between your legs.
"I don't want to wait anymore" you whispered, attempting to pout when you saw the tease in his eyes.
"Neither do I" he confessed, giving you a sweet smile.
San moved away from you only to pick a condom from the nightstand on his right, separating your bodies while standing on his knee to wrap himself with the latex. With another kiss, he completely covered your body, molding himself in between your thighs, with one hand cupping one of your cheeks while the other directed himself to your entrance.
Your nails dived on the skin of his shoulders as he stretched you out, slowly moving forward inch by inch until your hips were connected to one another. He stopped there, taking his time to admire every detail in your face as he rubbed his nose on yours.
While your legs were tangled together, you moved your foot up through his calf, at the same time your fingertips traced his spine from his lower back to his shoulders.
"San" you called him, having his eyes falling on yours with so much dedication that you felt your heart crumpling in your chest ", I'm yours".
It sounded like a promise.
And that was exactly what it was. You were assuring him that whatever happened, how far you were from each other, you'd remain his, just like he'd remain yours.
He leaned over you after saying that, linking your lips together before his hips started rocking against yours, steadily making your lower back hit the mattress every few thrusts. One of his hands never left your cheek, but the other wandered over your curves and in between your bodies, reaching your swollen button to get that first moan from you.
There was nothing more addictive than losing all types of control of your body because of San.
Your knees were at the level of his waist, while your heels digged on his lower back as his pounds got a little faster with the passing of time.
"Harder, babe" you moaned with a shaky voice.
Just like you asked, his thrusts went against your pelvis with a bigger impact, making your whole body bounce and emit that loud clap that echoed through the room and almost sounded over your voice.
San quickly moved your hands away from his face and his shoulders, holding you by your wrists to put them over your head. He only enclosed his fingers around your small joints for a few seconds, caressing your exposed palms with his digits until he was able to hold your hands, intertwining yours fingers together, closing his fist so tight to assure you that he wouldn't ever let you go. He linked your lips together again, drinking up all of your moans.
Succumbing to pleasure, feeling that knot in your stomach tightening with every move of his hips, and every rub of his pelvis against your clit, you tried to fight that outer force that made your back arch and your head move back, because you wanted to keep kissing him while he drove you to your orgasm. Curling your fingers a bit, you went from holding his hand to digging your nails on his knuckles, slowly losing every control that was remaining in your system.
San felt it on the way your moans sounded more choked, and the way you clenched around him like you never wanted him to let go, and that only encouraged him to go a bit faster, keeping that same strength of his thrusts.
Your orgasm was stronger than you, having you break the kiss to let out the deepest breath and the loudest moan that could gift his ears. He still went on, fucking you through your high to reach his.
One thrust.
Two thrusts.
Three thrusts.
And he was gone.
You recognised those small whimpers, getting out one right after the other, until a low groan culminated it all as his thrusts got sloppier and his cock twitched inside you while he spilled himself inside the condom.
His forehead covered yours and his hands finally let go of yours to caress your forearms while your fingers cupped his cheeks.
"You have no idea how much you mean to me" he whispered, with the most sincere tone in his voice.
"I know" you nodded, trying to move his bangs away from his head, only to have them fall back to the same place right after. "I love you so much".
"I love you, too" his head was hidden in the curve of your neck, while your arms hugged him tight.
But you didn't want sadness to ruin the mood of the night, you didn't want that sensation of losing something to get to you until the time you actually had to leave. It was your last night, and you two needed to enjoy it.
"Hmm, what about a second round?".
"You want more?" he asked, raising his eyebrows surprised as he looked at you again.
"Always".
After saying that, you succeeded at making your body roll over the bed, getting on top of him to go on with a night that you didn't want to see the end of.
Wednesday
That day nothing felt like you were going to leave, like you were actually saying goodbye to all those things. San drove you to the airport, and you still didn't have the sensation that you'd be seeing that city for the last time in a long while.
You both woke up curled next to each other, you both cuddled like you always did in the mornings you weren't busy, you both had breakfast and joked around. Not even dragging those two big suitcases made you feel like you were leaving.
Until you arrived at the airport and reality hit you.
You could feel the way your hand was shaking despite having his almost covering it, and that knot in your throat was tying up as tight as possible with every step you took. You were so focused on your thoughts, that you didn't know when exactly those tears started rolling down your cheeks until you felt a salty taste from one of them in your mouth.
"Hey, hey" he stopped, placing himself in front of you and leaning over so your eyes could be at the same height and be able to look at one another under the visor of his cap. "We promised we wouldn't do this".
"I know" you managed to say. "It's just... I can't..." your head shook, letting him know you wouldn't be able to say another word before you broke out crying again.
The rhythm of his heart beating should've been peaceful enough to calm you down when he hugged you, other times it definitely worked. But that morning it only made you want to stick to him, because you knew it wouldn't be there as soon as you got on that plane.
In your almost two years of relationship you never had to consider having to let it go to each other's safe place, not even once. And even if you had a week to get ready for it, you ignored it, spending time together and making you treasure that comfortable place that your relationship was.
And now reality was hitting you two like a truck.
"We'll text each other constantly, we'll facetime every day, I'll go visit you every time I can, and you'll come to visit me whenever you have the chance" he tried to calm you down. "Remember what we said?" softly, he moved back just to be able to wipe your tears away "This will only make us stronger".
You really wanted to take that step, to go further in your career, but it was burning your chest to know that was the sacrifice you had to make to get it.
His words managed to comfort you, they helped calm you down, but it had the reverse effect on him.
You felt a drop falling over your shoulder, and when you looked up, you could see San trying to hold back those tears that were forming in the corners of his eyes. Your arms moved up to his shoulders, now adopting the position of the one who was comforting him to caress the strings of hair that escaped his cap.
"Time will also fly" you whispered with a shaky voice. "Who knows? Maybe I get the chance to come back sooner than what we think".
His arms wrapped around your waist, pulling a strong grip around your body when your lips kissed the curve of his neck, right where his freckles were.
"We said we wouldn't make a scene, and look at us" you chuckled.
San had been so used to seeing you whenever he came back from tour, to escaping anywhere with you whenever he had a gap in his schedule, that finally realizing all those small plans would be gone for a long while was aching more than he could've imagined.
You stayed there after calming down, holding hands, just enjoying the last few minutes together before it was time for you to go. San held you tight, hugging you tight one last time before you started going your separate ways. Although you stopped shortly after you started walking, turning on your tracks and running to your boyfriend to give him one last hug.
When you kissed again, you felt that salty taste on your lips again, but you didn't know if it belonged to your tears or his. You two tried to force a smile when you broke the kiss and stepped back, trying to encourage the other to be well despite feeling broken inside.
Moments I think Blitzø realized his feelings for Stolas
I really don't think that Blitzø had an "Oh" moment. I think it was over a period of time, where he slowly realizes it, and then it comes unleashing out in either The Full Moon or Apology Tour.
Anyways, here
Seeing Stars (S2, ep2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was Blitzø's reaction when he saw Stolas's human form for the first time. God, I love his subtle expressions here sm. Read this post, they explain it well, and it's also the post that made me want to make this post.
In the first pic, Blitzø looks surprised and confused, probably from the shock of seeing Stolas's human form for the first time. Probably didn't even consider he ever had one, lol
The second image, we see a small blush appear, and as @ifwebefriends said, it's the "I'm fucked" face, as he is filled with complicated emotions as he realizes he likes Stolas in every form. He looks really worried by this.
The third image, hid pupils are fully dilated. Instead of confused, he looks genuinely worried and vulnerable. His expression doesn't show lust, but more like a mix of someone who is nervous to be around someone they like and genuine fear. He is realizing that it isn't just lust, but that he genuinely likes Stolas, and that's scary to him.
In the fourth image, he quickly turns around, slightly hunched over and rubbing his hands together; both behaviors indicating nervousness, probably at his own emotions. He also asks Stolas if he can somehow give them human disguises, which yes, is relevant to what's going on, but it can also be him being like, "maybe I'm just interested in the human disguise," so he can believe that instead of dealing with his own emotions.
(Also, have this gif of Blitzø checking Stolas out in his human disguise)
Tumblr media
Then that scene in Seeing Stars that, when I joined the fandom, was the first thing I saw fans losing their shit over
Tumblr media
Nothing much to comment on here. He's actually smiling at Stolas's advances. The other times Stolas flirted with him, it's always been overly aggressive ("jelly sandwiches all night~"), and this time, it's more subtle and intimate, which clearly worked for Blitzø.
Oops (S2, ep6)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In this moment, Fizz hit Blitzø with the allegations, and this was Blitzø's reaction to it. Look at his expressions! The first image looks confused and scared and heart broken, like he knew he fell, but he's either in denial, ignoring it, or doesn't think it's reciprocated; perhaps even all 3.
The second image, he looks sad, angry, and confused, like he doesn't know his emotions and can't name them, but he's hurt. He's frustrated at how complicated things are, and he hates it.
The 3rd image is now just full denial. When lying, people often look to the side or avoid eye contact, which is exactly Blitzø is doing right here. He knows that its more than sex every month, but he's lying to himself, because he can't get hurt if it is just casual.
Alright, imma have to do a part 2 to this cuz I ran out of space. I'll try to go in episode order next time lol, I just go excited with these 2 lol
Hey there!
I was wondering if I could request venom where the readers ex boyfriend really breaks her heart and venom wants to eat him and it's just really cute and funny and also serious because screw that *sshole!
Would be much appreciated! 😇
Don't f*ck with my bestie
Tumblr media
It's drama time !!! If it's ok with you could i do both Y/n and the partner gender neutral ?? Hope you understand. Word count:788
Y/n has been trying out the whole dating scene for a while now, ever since their spouse asked them out after class, But with venom you were constantly third wheeled.
"Y/n and P/n sitting in a tree..." He teased.
"Shut up..." You mumbled.
"You ok babe ??" They asked.
"Yeah, I'm alright" You smiled lovingly at them.
It was... certainly an experience, But all in all you loved your partner, you cared for them deeply, they were exceptional. Although Venom continued to tease you on your dates, he was very glad to see his bestie happy.
One day though after school, your spouse rung your phone, asking if you wanted to meet up at a nearby cafe, oooh another date !!
"Get a room already !!" He continued to tease
"That's just gross" You cringed.
You quickly got ready and drove your way to the said cafe where they were waiting for you outside. They smiled a little seeing you, though it didn't reach their eyes.
"Hi babe" You smiled and kissed their cheek, just oh so happy to see them. But they didn't kiss you back, you understood, they did explain previously that if that never happens they just had a bad day at work.
"Hey..." They greeted as you both sat down. "How have you been ??" Trying to make small talk.
"Been doing pretty good, class was very interesting today" After talking about your day, you then passed on the baton to them. "You ??"
They took a deep breath and sat up straight "Well..." They began to fidget "Y/n... your a nice person... but... I think the two of us should... invest in other people" They admitted.
You and venom perked up. Were they breaking up with you right here !! Yeah you had your ups and downs but you were always quick to work out those issues like any normal couple.
"W...Why ??" You frowned, your heart getting smashed.
"Look... It's not you, There's just... someone else"
Not only were they breaking up with you, they practically cheated on you while you two were dating.
"Wait... you cheated on me ??" You tried not to raise your voice, not wanting to cause a scene.
"Well... no. I haven't slept with them yet, I figured I'd break up with you first" They tried to make an excuse.
You were fully devastated, staring at your half drunken coffee. "I... I understand..." You gave them your all and this was your repayment ??
Venom was not very happy when the two walked away, not to mention they made you freaking cry !!! Oh that stupid piece of...
"Thank you for understanding, have a good life" They nodded and left, slipping out their phone to ring his new partner up.
You cried as you walked all the way home, your heart ached so much, it really fucking hurt !!
"We should eat their head !!" Venom raged, Nuh uh, don't fuck with his bestie !! "They do not deserve to live !!"
"Venom, don't..." You tried to reassure him but it was too late, he quickly morphed over your body and took control, leaping from rooftop to rooftop, He growled as he tried to find this bastard, he would not stand for any of this.
He then saw them talking to their partner, even kissing their cheek. He growled and launched from the building, landing in between them, They jumped and turned around to see the seven foot tall hukling symbiote as he then picked them up by the ankle and taunted him.
"Such a decent snack" He licked their cheek, their partner now running away in pure fear. Venom soon began to open his mouth wide.
"Venom Don't !!" You yelled. "Leave them be, leave them be, leave them be !!"
"I shall remove your head"
"No you won't"
"I shall use it for bowling !!"
He brought his head closer and closer to his mouth until he then tossed them like a ragdoll "Fine !!"
You cringed as you he morphed back into you, seeing him on the other side looking a tad beat up, but it also felt... good... getting some sly payback.
"That asshole can rot" You felt him grin.
Deep down, Venom was only just trying to help you... In his own way, But nevertheless you were greatly appreciative of it.
"Venom ??"
"Yes ??" He perked up.
"Thank you" You smiled softly, the memories of that stupid breakup gone, all in your mind right now was venom... your supportive best friend.
He wrapped a tiny tendril around your pinky, the goo rippling softly as indication that he was happy and content. "Always"
You were glad to have a bestie like him.
Words Are Unnecessary
Tumblr media
Day 12 of Kikitober
Plot: the mysterious man with the mask was attracting your attention with his own special love language.
A/N: just some fluffy? story i wrote while waiting at the hospital (and I've waited for quite some time so this story got a little longer than planned) sorry for the abrupt ending. Oh and i have no idea how you play darts so . NOT proofread
Warnings: none
Characters: Killer x F!Reader, Kid (minor role)
Once again the bar was full of drunken idiots. But you didn't mind too much - especially since drunken men gave the best tips.
You were mixing some drinks when a pirate crew entered the bar. Looking closer you recognized them as the kid pirates.
They took a seat at the biggest table - right next to the door and motioned you to bring them something to drink. You prepared a few glasses for the waitress to bring them over to them.
It got late and the bar was more crowded than usual. Though there were so many people in there you could still hear the roaring laughter from the pirate's table.
You were just cleaning a few glasses when a tall man with a wild blonde mane and a blue-white mask appeared.
"Could i get a bottle of rum" he asked leaning over the counter.
"Sure" you turned to get the bottle when out of the corner of your eye you saw a few, obviously drunken, men approached the blonde.
"The fuck is wrong with yer" a man with dark greasy hair asked. The blonde ignored him.
"Yer wearing that mask cause yer so fucking horrendous" another asked making the others laugh. Still no reaction from the masked man.
"I bet he's just some freak who escaped a laboratory" a third man said, looking closely at the blonde who let out a laugh
"What's so funny idiot" the first one asked slighlty hitting the blondes shoulder. That only caused another laugh to leave his lips.
"Yer must be a freak, with that embarrassing weird laughter" he continued as they were laughing. The man with the mask made a barely visible move. The one you make when someone's getting under your skin.
You started to feel sorry for him when he let out another strange laugh. The others laughing at him, making fun of him. It was but a small reaction but one that told you that he felt ashamed.
"You should thank him for wearing the mask" you said angrily as you put the bottle on the counter. "Otherwise no woman in this bar would even bother to give you more than a small glance for how handsome this man is." you almost shouted.
"Now get your ugly ass faces out of the bar, you're hurting my eyes" you were so full of rage as you pointed to the door.
"What if we don't want to" they taunted you.
"Well then it seems you don't value your life" you said as you grabbed the gun under the counter and pointed it right at the greasy haired man.
"Your choice" you said smugly. The men growled, insulting you but decided not to mess with you.
"I'm sorry about that" you said as you handed the blonde the rum.
He didn't move too dumbstruck from what just happened.
It took him a few more seconds before a small thanks escaped his lips.
He rummaged in his pocket to pay you but you put your hand on his.
"This one's on me." You said a soft smile on your face while another small laugh bubbled up from him.
"By the way, i really like your laugh" you said giving his hand a small squeeze. He grabbed the bottle and walked back to the table while you continued cleaning up glasses the whole time glancing over to this mysterious man.
You were surprised that this whole scene got to you this badly. Thinking about the three drunks made you so mad that your hands started to involuntarily shake. On the other hand you couldn't believe that all this feelings were because of a stranger.
But there was just something about him that attracted you. Maybe it was the mask the thrill of not knowing what he looks like. You were sure that even though he's a pirate, he was sweet and kind - something inside you told you thst he had to. Or maybe it was his laugh, which seemed like he didn't like it though you enjoyed hearing it. . Maybe it was his calm demeanor, his silence and his shyness.
You were not sure what it was but you had caught yourself thinking about him for the rest of the shift.
What you didn't know was that he was having the same problem.
~~~~~~~~
"Oi killer you there" Kid asked moving his hand in front of Killers eyes ripping him out of his thoughts and blocking his view to the counter.
"What?" He asked startled.
Kid looked over to where you were handing out a drink and smiled smugly.
"Got an eye on her" he asked Killer teasingly.
"Shut up" Killer snapped thankful that the mask hid his reddened cheeks.
"She's hot, you should make a move before I'm too drunk and I can't guarantee you that I won't hit on her" Kid let out a low laugh.
~~~~~~~~
"Oh god those pirates are heavy drinker." The waitress complained to you.
"Unfortunately but they leave a lot of moeny here so" you said shrugging though you had to admit that you started to feel your bones ache.
The bar became increasingly empty but the pirates were still in a good mood and continued ordering drink after drink until they were they only customers left.
You sighed looking over to the pirates - no sign that they would be leaving any time soon.
Sure you could've kicked them out but the owner of the bar always said that as long as there are customers willing to pay you had to serve them. Besides you were a little too anxious to kick the infamous kid pirates out.
"You know you can go home if you want, they're the last ones here I'm sure i can handle them by myself" you said as you looked wt the waitress who almost fell asleep.
"You sure?" She asked tiredly.
"Yeah" you nodded with a small smile.
"Thank you"she replied gratefully as she got her stuff and left.
~~~~~~~~
"Oi doll, another bottle of rum" the red haired captain shouted to you.
You grabbed the bottle and made your way to the table. Realizing that most of the crew fell drunkenly asleep in the weirdest positions. Besides the captain only the blonde and 2 other men were still awake though the alcohol was alraedy settling in.
Placing the bottle down you took a quick glance at the blonde before a metal hand wrapped around your waist.
"A beauty like you should not be working in a bar like this" Kid said as he pulled you closer to him.
"Where else should i be working then" you asked smiling. You were used to men hitting on you especially drunk men and you were more than capable of handling them.
"My ship" he said chuckling lowly tightening his grip around you pulling you closer once again. You had to put your hands on the armrest to steady yourself and not fall straight into him.
Your face was now so close to his that you could smell the rum on him.
"And what should i be doing on your ship? Handing out drinks? I'm pretty sure that you're able to do this without me" you teased with a playful smile.
"You could give Killer a hand with the cooking." He said motioning to the blonde who let out a small laugh.
"I can't cook I'd be more of a burden" you stated gaze still on Killer.
"Well in that case i could always use someone to f-"
"Kid that's enough" the blonde yelled cutting his captain off. The latter groaned but let go of you.
"spoilsport" Kid mumbled winking at you.
You smiled at them before grabbing the empty bottles from the table. The moment you leaned forward you could feel their eyes on your booty and cleavage.
"You can look but don't touch" you mocked as you walked back to the counter.
A few minutes later you jumped at the sound of a loud thump. Seems like that was too much alcohol as one off the pirates fell off his chair and the captain hit his head at the table -now sleeping and snoring.
"Sorry" a low voice mumbled. Killer was the only one who had not passed out drunkenly.
"It's fine, happens every now and then" you said as you took a seat at one of the bar stools rubbing your sching shoulder and neck.
"I, uhm I could help with that" he said taking the stool next to you.
"That's really sweet but you don't have to, I'm fine" you explained.
"I really don't mind. I mean it's kinda our fault" he said shyly.
"No it's not, hsppens at almost every shift" you grabbed his hand again and gave him a reassuringly squeeze.
"But i feel like I owe you one" he explained nervously.
"You don't owe me anything" you started but feeling like he wouldn't give up you sighed "fine I'd appreciate it if you could help me with the tension in my shoulders"
You felt a little nervous. Having a strangers massaging you wasn't something you would usually do - wouldn't even think about. But again you were mysteriously drawn to him and his calm demeanor.
He got behind you and put your hair aside. He placed his hands gently on your shoulders, applying light pressure as he began to knead the muscles. His fingers moved in slow, rhythmic circles, gradually working out the tension with firm but careful motions.
Damn that felt good. Almost too good as you were about to drift off.
"Wow that felt really good, thanks" you exclaimed after a while.
"You were rather tense" he replied.
You smiled at him as you sat there, enjoying the comfortable silence between the two of you.
"You're not really talkative aren't you?" You teased
"I uhm sorry"
"Please stop apologizing. That is not a bad thing." you said when you heard some loud snoring from the blacked out pirates.
"Wow they are horribly loud" you pointed out making both of you chuckle.
"It can get worse" he said sighing. "I guess i should start carrying them back to the ship so you can finally go home" he added
"You wanna carry them? Like all of them?" He nodded. "No let them sleep here. I'm not tired yet so i don't mind staying here....with you" you said though you mumbled the last part.
"But i have to put on some music their snoring is driving me crazy" you said laughing.
"So how about a little game of darts" you asked grabbing his hand pulling him to the darts board not waiting for an answer.
"I have to warn you, I'm really terrible at it"
You weren't lying you were really bad.
"Wow that was bad" you laughed after barely even hitting the board. "Now show me what you got big boy" you teased turning to him.
Unlike you Killer was really good at it.
"I'm not sure what's more impressive you being so good or me being so terrible" you joked.
"you're too tense and too impatient. Let me help you"
He wrapped one arm carefully around your waist steadying you and with the other moved your arm till it was in the right angle
"throw out of your wrist not your whole arm" he explained. His body pressed against yours making you a little nervous.
"looks like you're a good teacher" you stated as you finally managed a good score.
"you're a good student" he teased nudging your shoulder carefully.
It seemed as if he was loosening up around you and you had to admit you enjoyed his company.
"whats wrong?".
"i really like that song" he said humming softly as he grabbed your hand and pulled you closer.
"what are you doing" you asked chuckling
"I'd like to dance with you" he replied as he looked at you. "If that's ok" he added nervously.
You nodded and grabbed his hands placing them on your hips while yours wrapped around his neck. You started to sway to the song moving closer and closer to his body until you were completely pressed against him.
You looked up at him a little disappointed to not see his face before placing your head on his chest. You felt his muscles tense for a moment before relaxing as he placed his chin gently on the top of your head his arms wrapping tightly around your small frame.
"You know Kid was right with what he said" he whispered calmly.
"What?" You asked lifitng your head from his cest to look up at him.
"You shouldn't work here" he stopped taking a deep breath.
"You could come with us" he said though it seemed he regretted it the moment it left his lips as he laughed nervously.
He let go of you and turned his head, avoiding to look at you.
Ok you were not expecting this and therefore didn't know what to say. You only just met him and the kid pirates had a rather let's call it unpleasant reputation. Did you really want to join this pirate crew?
"sorry, forget it. I should get them back to the ship" he said embarrassed as he saw the hesitation in your eyes.
"Killer wait" You grabbed his arm. "I don't think that I'd fit a pirates' life, I can't fight nor navigate, I'm certainly not of any use" you explained with a small smile. You didn't want to disappoint or even hurt him.
"You were good with the gun" he said as you shook your head.
"I can teach you how to fight and yu see people for who they truly are, not just their appearance otherwise someone so beautiful like you wouldn't be talking to me, and that is worth more than anything else" he mumbled barely audible as he carefully took your hand in his.
You smiled feeling a blush on your cheeks.
"For a man who's been so quiet the whole time you sure know how to talk to a woman to have her wrapped around your finger." you teased with a big smile.
"Still....I'm not sure if it's a good idea" you stated biting your lower lip looking down, thinking.
"It would mean a lot to me" he replied not letting go of your hand as his other gently lifted your chin.
He wasn't a man of many words but the silence between the two of you was so comforting it felt like he needn't to say anything his little actions spoke more than words.
Though you only just met him he made you feel safe and special.
"God dammit this whole thing between you two is getting annoying. Either you convince her to come or I'll just drag her to the ship" Kid blurted out, slowly getting up.
You both were startled, your eyes widening at the last part.
"Don’t you think I should have a say in this too?" You complained but he waved you off.
"No cause if you stay here I'm the one who has to listen to his complaints" Kid taunted dramatically, as you looked surprised.
"Shut up" Killer hissed clearly embarrassed.
"Would you yearn over me" you asked curiously and he nodded.
"Well in that case - i guess i can't leave your side"

In a town like Santa Carla, it felt like there were only three things to do. You walked along the beach and swam in the sea, you went to the funfair and listened to music or you simply walked through the town and nature in the hope that something would happen.
But your choice fell into the third category. In a town like Santa Carla, she had visited the beach thousands of times, sunbathed in the water and enjoyed diving, which had only led to a few small fish that got boring after ten times.
The funfair and the concerts that would take place almost every weekend. Even after hundreds of thousands of visits, they were still entertaining and she liked dancing, eating cotton candy and singing with her friends and family.
But everything becomes too much at some point and she found that the night in this city slightly outside where you could have your peace and quiet was so much better. Peace and quiet is good too she thought as she looked up at the moon in the background as she turned to the beach which was still lit up, she could still hear the music, the saxophone being played could still be heard here.
"Like my own background music," she quipped and continued along the path, still old but still in use, it seemed to fit everything here. It was the height of strange people in the city while she also saw herself among them, but what was normal in this city?
She knew that she could get scared just as well as the other young adults, children and teenagers. ,,Not the murder capital of the world for nothing," she muttered as she walked along the path and saw the old bridge that Hlz and metal had seen for decades and probably years.
A beautiful constuction that stood under the stars, a constuction with history. History of the place she was interested in the place she was interested in. But one look at the party on the beach made her realize again that although she was having fun, she hadn't found a boyfriend or a relationship here yet, it wasn't that there weren't any dates but it had never happened in any way. She didn't really know how and the boys didn't want to.
But she shook off the thought, the wood creaked under her shoes, the metal seemed to tense up, but not because of her, was it? Something she didn't think about because the only thing she could never remember was when the train was coming. Running her hands over the railing, she didn't see the figures below her, the four beings, the handsome creatures in the form of four boys.
Enjoying the view, she looked at the beach, the city lights, the stars in the sky and the moon. It was a beautiful moment in the darkness of the evening. But this beautiful moment was interrupted by a fibrillation that brought her out of her thoughts as she looked beside her. ,,Oh shit!" she exclaimed as she caught the light and started to run.
She knew the bridge was long, the wood was rotten, the metal was rusty and the path wouldn't take her home straight away. It was as if, for the first time in this town, she was feeling terrified in the face of death. The pleading and running she could hear the horn, the light coming closer and the rattling of the wheels rumbling in her chest.
,,Come on fuck please just a little more" she mumbled but something inside her told her that she couldn't outrun a train traveling several hours and miles. A cry of fear escaped her as she closed her eyes and realized that she was not going to be caught by the train for a second when she suddenly felt arms around her.
Arms that were under a leather jacket, a dark leather jacket with a leopard on the sleeve and a bare torso underneath. ,,Wh-What?" she mumbled as she realized she wasn't caught in the train. But she screamed when she saw the ground beneath her and clung to someone. A person in the air? Confused, she looked at the man who looked at her with a slightly amused grin.
,,I've got you," he said calmly and she clawed at the scratching post like a cat, but the stranger didn't seem to mind. ,,Oh, Dwayne, don't be so shy... hey, sweetheart, do you have to scare us like that?" she heard a voice and looked carefully beside her, clawing even more at Dwayne, who was still holding her like she was nothing. A blond man flew next to them, long blond voluminous hair and a smile on his lips as he put his hand on hers.
,,You're flying? What-what are you Superman?" she asked, still not understanding what was going on, it was like a shadow the four of them. She had seen these four before on the solid but always just like a shadow. A damn good-looking shadow.
A laugh came from the four of them which made her squirm and she made a startled sound as one flew headlong towards her. ,,Don't hate, just grin I mean look at the view...besides I'm Marko, volumen hair is Paul and there in front is David" said the one with the curly hair and she saw the last of the four. She saw the light blond spiky hair, the leather coat and the glimpses of the cigarette.
,,Marko's right, sweetheart... enjoy this night view until you're back on the ground, don't want it to be uncomfortable," David said and gave her a grin as he joined his group. She tried to concentrate on the view, even though she kept looking back at the four of them.
Marko grinned at her and tried to tell her stories, Paul made bad jokes, David offered her a cigarette every now and then and talked about something, and Dwayne praised her for how well she was doing. The beauty of the creatures no it wasn't true she had seen the pointy fangs. These four beautiful vampires were really the best part of the night.
At some point it was quite nice to see the city from above and especially Dwayne's hands still holding her. She gave the four of them her address as the morning slowly threatened to come again and they flew there.
Luckily for her, she had left her window open because having to explain to her parents why four punky looking boys were standing outside the house was complicated.
,,Here sweetie," said Dwayne, gently helping her through the window as she finally got her feet back on the ground and the four of them hovered in front of her window. It was only now that she realized what had happened that a grin came to her lips and she could barely contain her excitement.
Four handsome vampires had rescued her and flown through the night. that was incredible i mean the train-you vampires...thank you for everything" she thanked the four of them who smiled at her.
,,Oh sweetie you have no idea how good everything will be tomorrow night at the same time" David mumbled and she knew she would be there, knew she was flying with the four of them again. But most of all she knew that there was now a fourth option. To roam the night with the lost boys.

Whoopps im liking this better than i thought
Summary: Daryl and Rick go on a run, they run into a pretty girl who is quite skilled in killing walkers but she is acting a bit suspicious👀 they decide to keep an eye on her. Again this takes place in the prison era.
Warnings: nothing really? a bit of phsyical pain involved cuz its twd
I initially tried to write this with first and third person narration which failed horribly so this is my first y/n fanfic ? feel free to correct my mistakes!! i'm new
Tumblr media
"...And she ain't afraid to get violent with men 3 times her size."
Daryl and Rick were behind a large tree as they were watching out for walkers. Daryl narrowed his eyes slightly when he saw this girl fighting off walkers on the corner of his eyes.
"The hell she think' she's doin' ?" Daryl mumbled under his breath in a rush only for Rick to turn to his body towards him.
"What?" He asked before his eyes caught Y/n taking down three walkers.
Rick scanned the area only to see two more coming at her from behind. Daryl looked at Rick for a second and followed his gaze.
"Should we help her?" Rick asked cautiously, trying to calculate Daryl's reaction.
"Nah, she can handle 'em herself. Let's go."
Rick gazed at Daryl as he was walking into the woods. He decided to take one last glare at this alone mysterious girl when his eyes widened slightly at the scene that was going on infront of his eyes. He called for Daryl in a barely audible tone.
"Check this out." He said swinging his index and middle finger lightly at the girl. Daryl leered at her. She had a camera on her and she was documenting the area. She was taking pictures of the trees, the dead walkers, the stores. Anything.
"Well, ain't none of our dam' business." Daryl said with a slight irritation in his voice.
Rick glared at him from the corner of his eyes for a brief second before taking a deep breath.
"She is alone, quiet pretty and actin' all strange." Rick said with an undertone of mistrust.
"She took five or six walkers all by herself, without a trouble." He then added with fascinated eyes.
Daryl rolled his eyes moderately "Now what? Yea takin' interest in sum girl fightin' for 'er life?"
Daryl kept leering at Y/n as she walked into the pharmacy store right after cleaning her knife with a cloth she ripped from a dress that one of the walkers was wearing.
He scowled lightly as his frustration revealed itself in his voice "Great. She goin' into the store I was plannin' to go into." He grunted. He sighed audibly and looked at Rick over his shoulder before putting his crossbow in place on his hands. Rick kept sniggering and followed him. They were looking for survivors. They needed them, Daryl didn't love the idea. He thought Rick was trusting people easily but maybe he needed to do that... He entered the pharmacy, with the intention of studying this girl more.
. . . .
Y/n kneelt infront of the biggest drug shelf, trying her hardest to find antibiotics. They were useful for anything, though none was left. Y/n sighed before going through piled up medications on the floor when she heard someone walk in. Whoever that was, they were quite, almost too quite for her to not notice. She slowly got up, scanned the area for a brief moment. Thank god, she wasn't in the entrance, otherwise she would be caught in the open; like a prey awaiting for its predator.
Y/n knew the first thing she had to do was to control her breathing so she did. She hid behind a big metal desk, her backpack was near the door, the entrance where whoever that was there could see it easily. She didn't panick. She held her breath and got close to her backbag with cautious light movements. She dragged her bag to herself.
Y/n listened to area for a few seconds before slowly pulling her knife and pistol out of their cases. This was what she was scared of, dealing with somebody she doesn't know in the middle of the apocalpyse. She knew she had to stay calm. She inspected her ammo, incase she had to use it. She checked the magazine. Y/n had her pistol on one hand meanwhile she had her commando knife sitting on her left hand gently. She had a firm stance but before she could even take a second peek, y/n felt someone's presence.
"Come out."
Y/n studied the man's voice before she got up. The grunt, the thick southern accent one could hear even in two words. Y/n could already tell she had to deal with an aggressive one. She had a moment of debating with herself whether or not she should leave her weapons on the floor. "That's stupid." she notioned inside of her head. All these thoughts pondered her head within 5 seconds when the man, once again repeated it.
"Come on out. Now."
She lifted her head up. An arrow in a crossbow looking directly at her forehead and blue stern eyes behind it. Y/n immediatly got up and stepped back, weapons in her hand with a firm stance. A hasty moment of exchanging rigid gazes.
"I'm not looking for trouble." Y/n said with a humane tone. Ironic, she believed. A girl stating that she isn't looking for trouble with two lethal weapons in her hands.
The man stayed silent without breaking the intense eye contact. Y/n felt the need of giving assurance to him to not get killed. Anything could happen these days.
She sounded as if she was begging, abundance of tender in her voice "I just need some supplies and I'll be out of here before you know it."
Y/n leered deep into the man's eye as if she could see what was going on inside of his head. Daryl looked at y/n up and down, trying to conclude if she is any danger at all. He finally stopped frowning and loosened his grip on the crossbow.
"Go ahead." he mumbled.
Y/n also loosened her grip on her weapons. She felt her hands cramping because how long she had been holding the weapons. She moved aside, her eyes still following the man. Y/n got down, confused even scared because she had no idea what could happen any second. She forgot about the pills. She was scared for her life. Nonetheless, she grabbed a few medicine from the pile on the floor and tossed them into her bag. Y/n could see the man's reflection from the broken glass infront of her. He was not taking his eyes off of her, which freaked y/n out. She took a deep breath and slowly got up. The man was leaning against one of the desks in the pharmacy, he was looking rather calm but at alert. Y/n could see that. Her eyes formed some kind of apologetic manner as she examined the man for a brief moment. She didn't know why she did that. Maybe she felt he was no longer a threat to her. Daryl was quite indifferent. He was not also taking her eyes off of Y/n. She started walking towards the door when the ammo in her backpack started making noises because they got all messy in there when she tried to get a magazine out. She hoped he wouldn't mind it and stopped for a second, turned to this man and gently said
"I'm Y/n"
Y/n didn't know if she was supposed to wait for him to respond. She felt as if she owed this man the courtesy of saying her name at least. She decided to walk out when all of a sudden her thoughts were interrupted by another grunt. "Daryl." He said. It sounded apathetic as if he only said his name because Y/n said hers. Y/n gently smiled, if you can call that a smile. She made her way to the door. She was still sweating when another one of her pistols dropped from her bag and made a big thud, leaving her all panicked. She had a few guns in her backpack and this wasn't good to a stranger's eyes. She grabbed her ALFA combat and incompetently put it into her jacket pocket that she was wearing in the heat of Georgia. She didn't even look at Daryl.
Y/n didn't wanna take long because she knew it would get fucked up and it indeed did. Her action was interrupted by Daryl's hasty voice when her hand touched the door handle.
"Hold on." He said in a wary tone.
"Wha's tha' in yer bag?" his eyes roaming through her body and backpack as he came closer.
Y/n took a deep breath before turning to him. She knew it was time to actually be a bit belligerent. There was no way this could end in any virtuousness.
"You a damn cop now?" Y/n said with vexation in her eyes.
"First you come here and spy on me now you wanna check my backpack." the annoyance and electric in her voice growing stronger with each word.
Daryl stayed tranquil. He knew Y/n was a potential survivor Rick might wanna take in but he still needed to make sure everything. He came even closer. No one could blame Y/n for feeling under threat. Her survival instinct kicked in. She already calculated the strength of Daryl, there was no way she could overpower him. That's the thought that kept notioning inside of her head throughtout the 5 minutes she had to spend with him. But, Y/n thought, if she attacked him when he least expected it, maybe that would give her enough time to run as far as she could and make him lose track of her.
So she did, she kicked Daryl in the guts, leaving him only stumble a few steps back. Daryl huffed "Fuck." at the pain of being kicked in the stomach.That was all her power and Daryl didn't even fall. She didn't have time to bore her mind with that at the moment. Y/n grabbed the the door handle and pulled it with all her power and started running as fast as she could.
Y/n was panicking more than ever now. She knew she was a survivor, that was the reason she stayed alive in this wilderness where dead people were walking aimlessly, attempting to bite into anything that had life and flesh. The bag full of ammo and couple of guns were making harsh noises as it was also slowing her down.
Y/n was panting and practically dragging her feet to run along when she heard a gun fire. She instantly stopped. Perhaps it was another survival instinct, perhaps she believed the next upcoming bullet would go through her skull if she didn't stop. Her legs were trembling and her body was sweating like never before. She should've never worn that jacket in the heat of the summer but that was for precaution. She halted. The first thing she did before turning to him with her hands in the air was to catch up on breathing as if she forgot how to do that. It was a big area before one could get lost in the woods. She took long hasty breaths and slowly turned her body towards the spot where the gun was fired.
Y/n huffed swiftly under her breath "Fuck" She did not only see Daryl but another man next to him holding a colt python. Daryl was panting aswell but he quickly fixed his posture.
Were they spying on Y/n all along? Demented possibilities were lining up in her head one after another. Two of the men kept looking at her while her arms and hands started cramping because of how long she had been holding them up in the air.
"What do you want?" Y/n shouted. Her eyes scrutinizing both men, debating inside of her head if they would go any further.
A few geeks started coming out of the woods. She knew it was mindless of the other man to fire a gun, even far away from the city. She reached at for her knife the second she heard their infuriating growls but Daryl didn't let her. He gave y/n a spine-chilling glare as he walked past her and killed the geeks on the spot. The other man looked rather nonchalant, not keeping his eyes on neither one of them; just giving soft glares now and then. Y/n couldn't even dare to look back, see what Daryl was doing. She supposed he was taking his arrows out of geeks' heads, cleaning them with a piece of cloth. That's pretty much what everyone did.
Then y/n felt Daryl's unyielding grip on her forearm and her backpack. He was forcing her to walk ahead of him. She could feel his harsh breaths behind her ears and it only made her heart drop.
"Asshole." she whispered and sort of hoped he wouldn't hear it. He most likely did but did not pay any attention to it. Y/n felt more under threat as they were getting closer to the other man. She notioned this could not end in any good. It was time to take action now or never. Her brain felt like it could explode any minute.
"Let me go." she howled, trying to push Daryl but it only made him more antagonized. He felt as if she was only trying to provoke him at this point. He responded back with pushing y/n to the wall of the pharmacy store. Her back hit the wall swiftly and harshly making her whine in pain. The backpack was still on her and all that metal stinged her back because of how hard Daryl tossed her on the wall. It was like every single one of the curved metal was being carved into her back.
"Ahh." she cried out. Before y/n could even pull herself together, she once again felt his harsh grip on the backpack. She gave in at that point, seeing no reason in fighting back.
"Easy." y/n heard the other man saying slowly to Daryl, his eyes forming a stern look. Y/n looked at him, she wanted to speak; explain herself but she didn't know if it would make a difference at all. She bucked up, her back was still hurting but it was now or never. Y/n took a deep breath between the whimpers of pain and said
"I don't fire 'em." she exchanged glances between two men. Her voice sounded as if she was in rush. Her voice growing raspier because of thirst that was caused by running and apprehensiveness. Daryl looking more irritated with every word that was coming out of her mouth.
"Then wha's for carryin' a bag full o' guns, huh?" he uttered.
Y/n knew she had to be wary, if not she had no idea what would happen to her. She made out that she could put some sense into the other man if not into the redneck.
"I'm delivering them to a friend." a lie. She couldn't even look into directly their eyes but tried her best to do so.
Rick seemed rather suspicious "All alone?" he muttered. Y/n caught his leer.
"Goin' all this trouble to deliver few guns." Rick sounded as if he was asking a question but also reflecting the situation in his head.
" 'Few' guns worth more than gold nowadays." Y/n said emphasizing the word "few" with a subtle irritation in her voice.
"I don' know man." Daryl got closer to Rick. Every one of them were still eyeing eachother up and down. Rick didn't want to let her go for two reasons, first being cautious about the prison's perimeter if she was telling the truth. He thought she wasn't being honest but there was no harm in being wary. Second being, she would be good use in the prison if she was alone and soloing her way. He knew he needed to investigate into it when y/n interrupted his track of thought
"Can I go now?" she said, not too pretentious but also not too sloppy either. She kept eyeing them, not letting her guard down and trying to not irritate them even more.
"Y'all don't look like bandits or I- I- don't know, plunderers. Why not let me go?" She was gazing at both of them as if she could see their souls.
"Tha's cuz wer not." Daryl said in an obvious exasperated, raucous tone. Y/n couldn't help but smirk a little bit at his extreme, fragile reaction.
A brief fierce eye contacted formed between y/n and Daryl when Rick made a hand gesture infront of Daryl to indicate him that Y/n was no longer a threat that she could, perhaps, leave. Her gaze shifted back to Rick. Rick had a soft manner on his face, he slowly swinged his fingers at y/n, indicating she was free to go. Y/n sighed and rolled her eyes lightly as she got down and grabbed her backpack, she had a fierce look on her eyes when she took one last leer at Daryl and slowly started to walk away.
Rick gazed at Daryl watching Y/n walk away from the corner of his eyes. Daryl could feel his eyes on him so he turned to him with a slight maddening going through his body like electroshocks. Rick still had that pleasant bearing on his face which drew Daryl more irritated
"No more interested in takin' 'er into the prison?" He grunted as he grabbed his crossbow and slung it over his shoulder as he kept staring at Rick.
"I am." Rick said in a cool manner.
"I dun' kno' man. She 's trouble and ain't afraid to get violent wit' men three times her size." Daryl said still studying y/n in his mind.
"And that's a survivor right there." Rick sniggered as a subtle smirk appeared on Daryl's face.

I have this angsty haikyuu request if you’re alright with writing it
So (name) has a crush on Ryu but the problem is that Ryu doesn’t return the feelings for (name) instead Ryu has his heart set on kiyoko which would send (name) in a unrequited love situation and trying to forget and get rid of his feelings for Ryu even though it pains him to see Ryu being happy with someone else. (name) knows he and Tanaka would never be together he struggles with dealing with it
Tumblr media
The sound of volleyballs hitting the gym floor filled the gym. Sugawara frowned softly at site of his oldest friend looking so upset. (Name) had asked Tanaka if he wanted to hang out after practice, unfortunately he was ignored again.
Sugawara slowly placed a hand on his shoulder. "Why do you keep doing this to yourself?" (Name) didn't answer, just stared as the male he's grown to love, chase after the other manager. (Name)'s heart breaking more and more. He'd grown to love the rowdy male with everything he has.
Sugawara sighed and softly grabbed (Name)'s arm. Pulling him away slowly. Trying to get him away from the scene. Most of the other players watched in pity. Except Tsukishima who huffed and rolled his eyes. He was gettig sick of tired of the situation. Everyone knew how (Name) felt about Tanaka. Well everyone except Tanaka apparently.
He was tired of seeing this everyday. So when practice finished Tsukishima made his way over to where (Name) was picking up the volleyballs. "Why do you keep chasing that idiot? We all know he doesn’t like you back. So why? Why keep trying when you know you won't succeed?" (Name) dropped the volleyball and stared at him.
(Name) opened and closed his mouth a few times, but didn't say anything. He turned and looked at the said male who was chasing after Kiyoko. Yet again. (Name) sighed and looked back at the male in front of him. "I don't know. I've liked him for so long. I honestly don't know."
Tsukishima sighed. "Well find someone else to fawn over then. I'm tired of seeing this everyday. Just move on already." (Name) flinched and looked down. Playing with his shirt. "Move on to who? Nobody would want to be with me." Tsukishima frowned more before sighing. "I-I like you."
(Name) froze. Had he heard that right? "What?" "I said, I like you idiot." (Name) looked so confused. "Why?" Tsukishima blushed and looked away. "I just do!" (Name) frowned. "That isn't an answer Tsukishima." Tsukishima clicked his tounge and took a deep breath. "Y-You're a good guy." (Name) held his breath. "You're always helping the idiots. You don't give up on them, even if others tell you to."
"You always have a smile and you always make my day better. You've helped me find a reason to enjoy volleyball. You make me enjoy playing and you make me not want to give up." (Name)'s eyes filled with tears. By now the whole gym was watching. Tsukishima pulled (Name) into a hug, and whispered into his ear. "So give me a chance please?"
~
Its been a month since (Name) and Tsukishima got together. Almost everyone was happy for them. Well everyone except Tanaka.
As a laughing (Name) entered the gym, Tsukishima followed behind him. An arm wrapped around his waist and a soft smile on his face. Sugawara entered behind the two clutching his sides. The other third and first years followed through. The second years had already been in the gym. It looked like they were having a great time.
So why does Tanaka's heart hurt so much seeing how happy his is? Noya raced towards the new happy couple. Jumping around the two. Momentarily frightening (Name) who stumbled back into his boyfriend. Sugawara started laughing again along with everyone else. Tanaka couldn't move his eyes fro the scene.
When was the last time (Name) even talked to him? Much less even looked in his direction. Tanaka frowned. Grabbing at the shirt were his heart was. His chest ached at the scene. Tanaka went to talk to (Name), but was interupted when his uncle grabbed (Name) by the back of his shirt.
Kenshin gave Tsukishima a look to release his nephew. Which he reluctantly did, not wanting to run laps. Like he had to do last time he refused to give up his boyfriend. (Name) laughed at his boyfriends pouting face. He was so glad he gave the taller male a chance. He was so happy, the most happiest he's ever been.
Tanaka watched the scene with pain filled eyes. Ennoshita gripped his shoulder softly. "I kept telling you to stop ignoring him, and to give him a chance. Look where that got you. Kiyoko is dating Yachi. (Name) got with Tsukishima. This was your own fault you know." Then Ennoshita made his way over to the group and ruffled (Name)'s hair. Earning a groan and pout from the said male.
Tanaka thought for a moment. If he had given (Name) a chance, could he had made him this happy? Would (Name) still light up the gym with his smile and laugh? Tanaka's frowned deepened and he looke away from the scene. He should be happy, so why is he so sad and hurt?

Part one / Part Three
Tumblr media
"You should stop turning down those job offers, they offer you a good amount and your other clients seem not to ask for your help much lately."
You sighed looking at the request manager, he took your silence to mean that you didn't really care, you never have anything stable in this world, there were always better and worse times so it wouldn't really worry you.
"Just take care to let me know if there are other people than 'Mr. B', their requests are ridiculous."
The man raised both hands, nodding to your petition, after that you left the alley where you met the manager, returning to the busy streets of Tokyo in the middle of rush hour, where everyone was walking down the street without worries, you mixed among those people until you reached a suburb of small houses. You opened the rickety door with a nasty creak, looking at the garbage that flooded the floor, you couldn't ask for more for the minimum amount of this place and location, anyway it was time to move to another apartment.
Not only because you needed to change 'home' from time to time, but because lately you had felt less safe with your environment, it all started when you accepted the first request from 'Mr. B', they only asked you to kill a man, you did your job but also you discovered the identity of that 'B' who turned out to be not just one person but rather several.
You don't usually remember faces or names that aren't necessary for your missions, so you had to rack your brains to remember those two faces you saw, then you linked them to that group you saved in that brothel a month ago. Luckily only you could see how the guy with the pink mullet and the guy with the scar who tried to stop you that time were there, they seemed to be watching your movements with a satisfied smile when they saw little drops of blood fall from your face.
You interpreted that 'Mr. B' was all that group that you barely remembered the appearance of, you thought that on that occasion they were only there to check that you did your job well, but you noticed how they started to track you after that assignment, although of course, they could not find you and their only way to see you would be for those orders, which you did not accept.
The next two months your usual customers disappeared without a trace, it's not like you received daily orders but it was strange that all your requests were now only from 'B', it irritated you because it meant a heavy blow to your name in the underground, by refusing to take orders to Bonten, no one else did it as if they felt threatened.
But the worst of all was that every step you took you felt their eyes on you, every corner you turned you saw their shadow on you, it bothered you enough to think about killing them but you seriously thought about it and it would get you nowhere, you didn't used to kill to reputable or well-known people because that would cause a more intensive search for you and those guys seemed to be at least successful because they were handling a ridiculous amount of money.
You didn't even know their names and they always seemed to be on your trail, you never let them get too close to you, but lately they seemed closer and closer to finding you directly, you got fed up, you weren't leading a quiet and peaceful life, but inside from the garbage of your work you could always have a rest from all those deaths, you could always have a little space to pretend that your life was not rubble and everything was normal.
"Looks like I'm going to have to do some special work or I'll go completely hysterical."
As you were getting ready to leave that same night, all of the Bonten executives gathered at their meeting point earlier today, all sitting at a round table waiting for Mikey to start the meeting, though he waved for Takeomi to start since he was already busy eating his taiyaki.
"As you know we have been looking for that assassin from that day, we have always followed clues but we never managed to find the person, but today, we will complete the capture plan."
They all nodded in sync, some more eager than others, after all the stupid game of cat and mouse made them feel more irrationally attracted to you, Mochizuki always enjoyed watching you mix so well with people but quickly lost sight of you that he needed more from you, Sanzu and Rin enjoy seeing you staining you with the blood of your targets, Kakucho seems to appreciate your fighting style, Takeomi sees you as a difficult puzzle to solve and Ran and Kokonoi were perhaps the least attached to that exalted image of you, but they were curious about you.
"Is everyone clear about their part of the plan? We can't let anything go wrong, she never leaves a trace and knows how to erase her tracks, so we'll have to resort to more violent methods than just watching how she goes on our faces."
The meeting continued for a few minutes, explaining each phase and step while unknown to them you were in the room ventilation listening to everything, your blood boiled listening to how they talked about how they would make you bow down to them, it was your breaking point.
"Once we capture her, we can do what we want with her?"
"Only what I allow."
Mikey got up answering Sanzu who rolled his eyes for the answer, the leader patted his shirt to remove all the rest of the crumbs, with that everyone knew that the meeting had ended although to their surprise three bullets hit the table right in front of the site from Mikey, immediately after you kicked the grate and jumped on top of the table pointing your two pistols at everyone.
"I am going to make one thing clear, do not interfere in my life, I don't know what you want from me, but I'm not looking for anything from you."
You kicked Rin's arm as he tried to grab your leg, immediately firing Sanzu's pistol to disarm him, then ducking to avoid Ran's staff.
"What about the expenses for destroying that brothel?"
"You speak as if-" you jumped from the table hitting Kakucho's hands with the butt of your pistol, moving as far away from them "as if you lacked money, I know you are 'Mr. B', there is no point in charging me for that."
"We don't need reasons to want you as our slave! If we want something we have it and you would be a great possession to us."
"Oh just go to hell, Chunzu, I don't care about you or your supposed leader Mokey, I'm asking for peace of mind! and I want you to take this as a warning."
You took a little momentum, doing a slight somersault on the table, you shot at the large window breaking the glass into small pieces, you ran towards the broken window to jump through it, the arms of Mochizuki and Rin trying to reach your body unsuccessfully, you spun in the air and fired one last time before your body was thrown from the top floor of the building, disappearing into the darkness of the night and the buildings.
The bullet made Mikey's dyed hair move slightly, a couple of cut strands slowly descending to the ground, everyone fell silent watching their leader look at the window you had thrown out of, Kokonoi snapping everyone out of their daze.
"Mikey…?"
"If she want to play that game we'll play, before it was a whim, but now it's a necessity, I want her here."
He turned now looking at the wall where the lead bullet had been nailed, brushing the hole and scratching slightly to remove the small object, he smiled observing the shape and caliber.
"Let's start… analyzing this."
He took one last look at his most trusted executives before walking off fiddling with the 10mm bullet, they all looked at each other with a new flame burning in their eyes, you're only making things worse, you should have run but it was too late to get rid of them.

_________________________________________
Billy's not sure what lead him to this point.
But the moment he steps out of his Camaro he has to pause, place his hands on his hips, and pace. Once. Twice. Three times for good measure before his attention is redirected to his destination.
Depot Central.
"Hawkins for the Family" Or so the sign outside had stated.
It's 4:30 in the afternoon, you've only been on shift for 30 minutes.
Three and a half hours to go.
Billy has memorized your schedule like the back of his hand.
The depot wasn't small by any means, but most of its stores closed at the latest of six due to its small town status. The depot itself mainly used the second story to hoard it's products, what couldn't fit through the windows displayed itself like an open antique shop on the 1st floor, the remaining area that couldn't be utilized by the display lay store merchandise.
This was the third time in a row he'd come back to the depot.
The first time he'd be stepping inside.
If the place had more customers he would've stalled a little longer, maybe considered another 3 rounds of pacing the parking lot but there was no one in front of him when he stood off to the side, peering through the windows.
His hands find his hips again, pressing agaisnt the brown leather belt adorning his dark blue jeans. It was new. He'd went out and bought it a few days ago. Even went as far as hiding between the aisles of the women's section trying to scope out style.
He didn't buy the pink or purple belt, regardless of how "nice" you said those colors were on him. Instead, by a random struck of luck that felt unwarranted, he'd found one even more perfect. One in which the gems were arranged in a way that made it look like the night sky.
Fucking space because you were into that shit or whatever.
Gemstones on top of silver. And Billy felt like a star on the belt, big and prominent.
Maybe that was wishful thinking. He couldn't really reject the feeling of suffocating when the gems shined in the sunlight through the window panes beside him.
Girly.
Feminine.
Queer.
Billy tries to ignore them and in the process, he considers ditching his clothing choices for today and giving in to his original idea. But even so, with all he's been through, Billy isn't really aware that the things he's learned from you have stuck this long.
He'd scrubbed himself raw in the bathroom just 30 minutes ago. And he made sure to perfectly place the top portion of his maroon button up that was peeled open. And he dabbed cologne on every inch of his body, just in case the amount he had initially put on wasn't enough. And while he was driving he made sure to keep the cigarettes in his dash because he knew the smell, reminiscent of your father, was the sole reason you had never picked them up throughout your teenager years. Not even to just try.
So once more, everything right down to his clean socks were an item of scrutiny. He even had spare deodorant in his car if he started to sweat.
And for what? He didn't fucking know.
The urge to repeat his pacing however came and he knew very well what that meant.
He was thinking about turning around.
But to make sure his body isn't going the opposite direction, he checks his front pockets where two cards were securely nestled in.
Dare Billy say he was almost scared.
He feels sweat starting to prick on the back of his neck, underneath his perfectly defined curls –he didn't even want to think about the measures he went to learn how to make them look so pretty– and he ducks back into his car, deciding he should just put the deodorant everywhere.
As he fumbles for the anti perspirant in his dash, feet sticking out of the car and body pressing against the middle console awkwardly, he realizes that he's almost forgotten the singular rose that he specifically taped to head of his passenger seat so he wouldn't forget it.
Quickly, Billy retrieves the rose and proceeds to rub himself down with the light spray of deodorant.
And despite his previous antsy nature, when he finally goes to walk to the entrance of the store, his face is the perfect mix between cool and ready. But his eyebrows are furrowed, a giveaway to the turmoil going on in his head.
Once the doors slide open, the chimes on top barely audible in the distance, Billy's face twitches ever so slightly when he realizes who is bent over the checkout counter, chatting you up, eliciting deep, rumbling laughter from your wide chest.
Steve.
Billy makes sure the displeasure is gone from his face with a blink of the eyes before he's approaching the two with nonchalant grace. He makes sure his gait is perfect and makes no noise against the flooring of the store, this way he can spy on your conversation from behind the taller shelves of canned food.
He listens close enough to pick up the murmurings of some new ice cream recipe you had apparently tried over the weekend with Will and Jonathan. Sounded absolutely disgusting to Billy. There was pecan and raspberry involved, as well as a hint of honey which would be fine if it wasn't inside frozen food.
But Billy found himself not really paying attention to the words being exchanged, moreso the tone.
Or, more importantly– how Steve said them. Emphasized certain vowels that he wouldn't unless he was in the presence of someone really close.
Just the thought tightens his grip on the small rose clasped tightly in between his fingers and he decides to finally make himself known by making a detour into the candy aisle beside the front desk, going over to get a pack of black liquorish and throwing the item down at the counter for you to ring up.
Your eyes fling up in startle, as though you hadn't noticed Billy at all until the very moment he slammed the unsavory candy on the counter, the plastic brushing a strand of Steve's hair on the way down.
Maybe it was a little bit of an overreaction, but he couldn't help it.
There were instances in which Billy acted purely upon instinct or impulse. Moments in which he let those feelings go to his head and not only let it manifest into words, sometimes that energy even moved his entire body without asking.
You had paused mid-sentence to take in the scene before you. How could you not?
Steve was dumbfounded. Not because the candy was an offense to his palate but because the intensity with which Billy pushed the packaged item towards you was a big one.
Steve moved away from the man looming over his shoulder, offended for his friend across the counter.
The first time Steve had walked in on you two, Billy wanted to kill him –almost killed him. Whatever he was about to retort would most likely have the same outcome.
Because it didn't matter how nicely Billy dressed or spoke to you, Steve could still see the shadow of Billy in his mind, a storm all his own lurking underneath flesh.
"We're still talking. " The brunette finally speaks up, motioning back and forth between himself and you.
Billy snorts and rolls his eyes, trying his hardest not to call the boy across from him something more obscene than asshole because he knows it would lose him any chance of speaking to you.
"You're a worker, right? " Billy plants his forearm on the counter, mocking Steve's pervious position.
"Work. " He spits.
You stare back at him pointedly, hands on your waist before you grab the item and run it across the scanner. A green light graces you skin and a beep fills the empty room.
"52 cents, sir. " You retort simply.
Sir.
Sir.
"Sir?" Billy reels, face controrting into disgust. The word burned all over, and surely the older boy in front of him knew how much that word would affect him. He must've known that it'd make Billy Hargrove piss his pants.
You did.
But nevertheless, Billy pulls his wallet out and drops a five on the counter, telling you to keep the rest.
The plastic covering of the candy crinkles under your fingers as you lift it from the counter, passing it back to the blonde.
Your fingers brush beneath the packaging and all air seems to whoosh out of Billy's lung in response.
You meets his eyes in the middle.
It's silent for a moment.
–Save for Steve who's munching on the same type of candy just off to the side.
The blonde blinks, once, twice. His brows raising again like they had in his car. Billy can feel it, and he fights the urge to pull his fingers away but he doesn't, both of your hands just dangling there for a minute longer.
"Mm!" Steve chokes suddenly, wincing right after as the liquorish becomes a glob in his mouth and his body jerks backwards in discomfort.
It breaks the moment but Billy has an easier time collecting himself than his competitor.
"Steve. " You exclaim and you make a move towards him, patting your friends back with exaggerated aggression.
"I'm okay. " He rasps. "I'm okay. " He raises his hands up in the air but his words deceive him as he starts another fit of coughing.
After a minute or so of more gagging and choking and violent beatings on the back, Steve finally manages to swallow, with a loud groan of course.
You manage a laugh at the boys struggle, masking the noise the bell atop the door makes when it flies open.
And when you turn back around, half a grin still on your face, you're met with emptiness.
That, and a singular rose haphazardly placed on the counter.
