A comment does not give me the amount of characters that are required for me to explain my entire theory so I'm going to have to just tag you in a reblog but hear me out:
During the days of the Empire, after the Republic had fallen, the first thing that Palps goes after is Mandalore, which means he saw them as a threat. If Mandalore had possessed any kind of power, it's entirely likely they would have had enough power to oppose the Empire.
Palps was worried about them and for good reason. They are entangled with the fate of the galaxy for all intents and purposes. They know how to fight, they have armour impenetrable by most weapons and strong enough to fight off the Jedi. There was good reason to fear them, which means they had to be cut off at the head..
Palps knew this. He knew that Mandalore had to go if he wanted to be able to get the upper hand in the senate. There's nothing you can do to convince me that if Mandalore had regained their lost power and rebuilt their Empire that the part of the Republic trying to secede (because remember, it wasn't the whole Republic. A lot of them, upon realizing that Mandalore had the power to effect things, would have probably given up) would have been able to oppose them.
So one of the most important events in the GFFA's history was the fall of Mandalore (and there's two previous wars with the Mandalorians to back up my point.)
So how did Mandalore directly impact the war? Well, I'm so glad y ou asked.
One of the driving forces of the Clone Wars was that no one had to sacrifice their own people to actually fight in the war, thus making it seem like a good idea and allowing them to continue. If Jango hadn't been the template (and recruited 100 Mandalorian to train said army) they wouldn't have been able to say that and let's go back further through his life and how he ended up in this position.
Jango had a gripe against the Jedi, it was one of the reasons he was so keen to help (that and he didn't know that the man paying him used to be a Jedi) which is because of Galidraan, so let's go back to Galidraan.
Galidraan decimated the True Mandalorian sect, which also allowed Death Watch to gain the upper hand and ended up with Jango as a slave in spice mines until he managed to break free. Jango and the True Mandalorians were on a mission as per the Galidraan government to take out a rebel group they believed to be hurting the planet and despite what people think, the Jedi didn't attack first.
The Jedi were told that the Mandalorians were killing innocents and Death Watch killed people to allow the Jedi to believe this. Despite this, when faced off, Jango gave the issue to start shooting. Which, he was an angry young adult who'd just lost a second father figure leading an entire army's worth of people, but work with me here.
If Jaster Mereel had been there instead it probably wouldn't have gone like that. Because Jaster Mereel was known for being level headed and more importantly, a very good leader and strategist. He would have realized there wasn't a chance in hell they could win and it probably would have resulted in talks instead. And as soon as there was talking, Death Watch's plan would have been unravelled and I'd go as far to say that the Jedi would have helped, since they still would have been completing the mission that was required of them (take out the Mandalorians killing innocents, which Death Watch was. They were a faction of Mandalorians).
Except Jaster Mereel was killed on the battlefield of Korda Six, which means that he wasn't alive when all this was going on. And honestly, Jango had just lost another parent and wasn't in a good place. He certainly shouldn't have been leading an entire group of people when there were people who were more experienced and would have been able to handle things better, but also this:
Jaster Mereel's death meant that the boy he'd sworn to train (Jango Fett) still needed to take his place and take them helm. That meant that someone who shouldn't have been in charge was left in charge.
And where else do we see that?
Anakin Skywalker.
It's well-known that when Qui-Gon died, Anakin's only chance of being trained by a master (a true master, because as much as I literally love Obi-Wan Kenobi and would die for him, he wasn't ready to be knighted with a padawan, especially not while he was still grieving his dead master and especially not such a precarious case like Anakin was) that would understand his situation and be able to guide him safely was lost. That's why you hear the music you do when Qui-Gon dies.
Jango Fett is Anakin Skywalker's Mandalorian equivalent.
Thrown into a war he wasn't ready to fight without the figure he needed in his life to guide him.
And they both go down the same path, they are Obi-Wan Kenobi's FOILS. They are what happens when you continuously make bad choices in the face of bad things happening.
So yeah if Jaster Mereel hadn't died, Jango Fettt would have never become a clone template and Mandalore would have had a stronger foothold into the Galaxy at large. And with a stronger Mandalore (and the possible reconstruction of the Mandalorian Empire) everything that happened probably wouldn' have happened.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Me, trying to explain my conspiracy theory of how I'm 100% sure if Jaster Mereel hadn't died on the battlefield of Korda Six then he would have married Kal Skirata, the clones would have never been created, and the Original Triology would have never happened to any random passerby who dares mentions the word Star Wars:

Do you know if there'll ever be another Snk Positivity Week? I feel like now that the manga's over, this would be a great time to have at least one more, especially with all the intense division going on at the moment.
Not that I've heard, but I haven't exactly reached out to anyone about it either. Looking at the list of people who've cohosted those events in the past, I don't think many of them are still on tumblr or else they've moved on to other fandoms.
I'm not opposed to the idea but I know for a fact I don't have it in me to organize and run another event. But if anyone else feels especially motivated, I'd be happy to lend whatever support or insight I can, including access to the tumblr blog.
Thanks for the ask!
