A LIFETIME
shinichiro x girlfriend reader
Tumblr media
at the age of 25, shinichiro still feels like a highschooler whenever he's around y/n. he gets shy by the thought of her and sweats like buckets when she's near him. can y/n really blame him though, she is his greatest love or what he says.
today, however is just a bit extra for shin, he had thought about it for days. he thinks it's finally time for him to man up finally and propose to his one true love after all these years of being a wimp.
he couldn't even understand himself why he still feels this way towards her, they have known each other when they were still little kids and yet his feelings is just as the way it was since then. he was just too whipped.
Tumblr media
it was any normal day in highschool, shin with his 3 trusted friends and y/n currently having their lunch at the rooftop.
"i'm definitely gonna ask that girl on a date in the other class." shin decided to break the glass earning snickers from his friends while y/n just listened to their conversation.
"that's literally the 20th girl you've tried to date over our highschool years. there's no way she's even going to talk to you." waka jumps into conclusion.
"one more strike and you're out man." takeomi added.
"graduation is just around the corner shin, who knows maybe after this, that girl s'gonna go somewhere far away or something, you never know." benkei reasoned.
"somewhere far away from him that's for sure." again, waka teased his friend and they all laughed again earning a pout from their leader.
"yeah, you laugh your hearts out idiots. i'm gonna be laughing at your face once she says yes. and besides i'm pretty confident about this one. just the other day, i saw a letter at my locker and i tell you man, she was their looking at me holding the letter. i'm sure it was her." that made y/n stiffened but pretended to be normal still eating her lunch.
"just because you saw her doesn't mean it was actually her who wrote you the letter."
"besides since when did you get letters anyway???"
"you guys are too much for me. leave a man and his future love blossom be alright? and duh it's not only you who receives letter waka!"
Tumblr media
"so, where'd ya wanna go after shin?"
"ahh... sorry y/n i thought well maybe you should go home first?"
"hmm, why– oh you guys having a meeting? i could wait for you."
"uhmm actually i was going to meet maya, you're classmate, who sent me letters, you remember?"
yeah, no that wasn't maya who sent the letters. she thought.
little to shinichiro's knowing, those letters were actually from y/n. well y/n isn't going to tell him that sooner, she just recently realized that she have feelings for his best friend. for years of being in denial, she finally accepted how she truly feels. but like an idiot he is, he thought it was someone else's letter of confession for him.
"uhuh yeah that girl hehe. okay, i'll see you later?"
"uhmm then after that i'm also having a meeting with the guys, sooo tomorrow?" he sheepishly said rubbing the back of his neck.
"oh yeah it's cool. it's the weekend anyway, i'll bring dorayaki for manjirou." she says sweetly and bid her goodbyes.
"you can take care of yourself on the way home right?" he asked worriedly and catches up to her holding her elbows that sparked her heart with the sudden touch.
"mmm yeah, i'll be fine. s'not like i'm gonna get in trouble while walking or anything." they both laughed.
"sure. i'll see you tomorrow. text me when you got home, sweet!"
"i will! and tell me all about your date after!"
Tumblr media
y/n went to get ice cream before she sulked into her bedroom at home and when she's about to turn into their street she heard some thugs calling out to her.
"hey you!" she whipped her head to where the noises of bikes came from.
"you're with that black dragons leader?" asked the man who seems to be annoyed and is with a few bunch of men behind him giving lustful looks that made y/n cringe at that sight.
is he tryin to insult me? if i were shin's girlfriend, i wouldve cried myself out every time. she thought pasting an annoyed look to the guy.
"yeah no, if i were, i would've told everybody i met on the streets"
"fiesty one eh, boys? that's what we like, a little challenge." they all snickered.
she was about to go on her way when she was pulled back suddenly by the man making her look up to him.
"it's best if you release me before i do something unbearable to you." making her glare at him and made the men bursted into laughter as if they were being threatened by a kitten.
he was about tighten his grip onto her when a loud roar of engine was heard and stopped right in front of them.
she saw a familiarity of the wheels and a figure of a man, who looks exactly like her in male version, got out of it making her sigh thinking it'll be a full of scolding later back at their home.
"why don't you scumbags scram before i crack your heads?"
the man holding the woman seemed to saw the tattoo by the neck of the man who just parked.
"it's a red spider lily gang." whispered the other men at the back.
"let's go." he unhanded his grip onto the woman and ran to his bike and drove away without looking back.
when they were out of sight y/n look back at him again only to see meet his glare towards her.
"get in the car." said the man, his brother called out and without any other word she went inside and went home.
Tumblr media
the next day, y/n found herself walking up to her neighbors house. holding a few snacks which is mostly dorayaki and few strawberry flavored juices for the kids, specially mikey since he's a hungry kid.
stepping up inside their gates she heard a few voices by the dojo hall, she then went straight ahead and jirou, keisuke, and emma already seeing her figure making them shout.
"y/n you're here!"
"hiii y/n!"
"y/n did you bring dorayaki?"
she smiled and greeted the kids back as well as grampa who is busy teaching the other kids.
"is shin here?" she asked curiously not seeing the teen inside the dojo.
"he's probably in the garage again ditching my class." grampa grumbled.
she bid them goodbye as soon as possible since she doesn't want to bother their class and went to the garage. nearing the location she can already hear a frustrated clanking of the tools.
"keep that up and you're gonna ruin it." her sudden voice was heard making shin jump to surprise and whipping his head at the back making y/n giggle.
ah that laugh. he thought.
"watcha doing?" leaning to his side a little too close making shinichiro a but weird to his feeling.
"a-ah. you know just tampering here and there hehe." rubbing his nape
"or maybe sulking?" she teases.
"hey! yesterday was actually embarrassing you know! she told me it wasn't even her who sent me those letters."
"maybe because it was actually another person and you just assumed it was her." she suggested.
silence.
"are you suggesting that you knew who sent me those?"
"well i kinda have an idea who might be."
he stopped working and raises his head towards her urging her to continue.
"it was. it was me." she whispered so quietly just enough for the both of them could hear.
Tumblr media
and now 7 years have gone by and shinichiro and y/n's relationship had never been better. emma, baji, and manjirou are already in highschool and has formed a gang, and their friends come by at their house every time.
he also met izana along the way and convinced him to stay and is now living with them for almost 3 years now. shin already retired from being a black dragon's leader but is still famous and well respected around. he already put up his motorcycle shop just around the block and is doing pretty good.
shinichiro would initiate to have a day out or a trip to the beach once every month and ends up everyone going with them. the girls are pretty close with y/n considering the girls either don't have an older sister, is the only girl or the youngest in their families. the boys too are head over heels for her making shin envy most of the time since she give attention more to the high school kids rather than him.
it's true that it was stressing managing to have a day out since y/n has to take care of some babies with him (mainly shinichiro ft. manjirou and izana bantering every now and then) but at the end of the day she would be looking at them happily and delightedly since they get to bond with everyone.
now back to their house, everyone is excited. emma and hinata are in charge of the food in the kitchen. yuzuha, senju, luna, and mana on the decorations.
mitsuya and draken on the grill outside and the others are just being a nuisance honestly. rindou on the other side of the house preparing for the music to be played later while his brother and their friends tryna distract him.
takeomi, waka, and benkei already started their drinking session but not too much for them to get drunk for later's main event.
shinichiro already instructed baji and was on his was to fetch y/n from the mall around 10 minutes ago. baji was told to act as if izana and mikey fighting again and ruined their beloved kitchen that made y/n worry.
shin looking at his surrounding seeing everyone having fun and getting ready for everything they needed swells his heart. he had been preparing for her birthday, he wouldn't let anything ruin this perfect day now. all he has to do now is actually prepare himself.
hearing a loud roar of engine signals baji and y/n's arrival making everyone stop what they were doing and going into their places switching off all the lights.
manjirou and izana can be seen outside because of the moon's shining, holding each others neck as if they were to kill each other at any point.
"guys seriously, i don't wanna deal with this right now. why don't we head inside and sort this out." y/n already annoyed and separated the two and proceeds inside the house.
darkness was the first thing she sees and nagged the three boys again.
"if the kitchen were burning why did you actually even bother to switch the light off and where's grampa?" already smelling the burnt food that emma had to prepare to make it believable.
she was about to flip the switch on when they all shouted.
"happy birthday y/n!!!"
"surprise!!!"
shock was all over her face and before she could utter a word, luna and mana already walking towards her with a cake in their hands that says, "happy birthday and congratulations y/n and shin!" that made her confused.
"huh?" looking around for her lover who was already kneeling behind her. surprised and her eyes are on the verge of tears at this point.
"make sure you make it short! we're already starving here!" manjirou butted in that made everyone laughing while shinichiro just ignored not letting him ruin his mood and proceeded his speech.
"to be honest, i'm really nervous that i already forgot what was i supposed to say here." staring into her eyes that earned a few chuckle from her and the others.
"y/n i never would've thought that my best friend since i was a kid would end up being my girlfriend as of today. i was always looking for a missing piece not knowing it was you all along that completes me. i'm thankful for you, for being there for me, by my side, supporting me, and helping me whenever i need. for always patching me up whenever i'm covered in bruises, but you scolding me is much more painful than those bruises i earned. y/n you are the love of my life, and because of you, you made my life a living fairy tale in this world full of nightmares and i'm talking about those two boys." he stopped for a moment and looked at his two brothers and they all snickered.
"y/n i promise to love you a bit more every single day of my life and take care of you and our family. it sounds cliché, but i want to spend the rest of my sunrise and sunsets with you, if you'd let me... y/n, sweetheart, the love of my life. will you mar-"
"yess!!! oh my god yesss!!" she hugged him while he was still kneeling making them plop down.
"you didn't even let me finished" they both laughed.
"i couldn't wait any longer. i will marry you shin." she smiled so sweetly and shinichiro insert the ring that fitted perfectly into her finger.
everyone clapped, shouted congratulations to the couple and confetti's popped all over the places. she look all over the place and saw grandpa sano and y/n's family in the back also mingling and clapping for both of them.
the three teenage sano's went forward and hugged them both tight congratulating and teasing their older brother making y/n laughed.
they both sure do have a lifetime to spend this fairy tale of a life with their little nightmares.

Tumblr media
You could sense them.
Their stares, etching into the back of your skull.
You could hear them.
Their whispers, spreading judgement and discontent about you.
It was too much. It was all too much.
You did everything you could to ignore them, ignore their hatred, but even you had your limits.
You had spent most of your day today out and about Dragon City, running various errands and chatting with some friends you happened to run into. You thought that today was going to be a good day.
It started in the afternoon. You were peacefully sitting and eating your lunch at a table outside a quaint little restaurant you often frequented, when you overheard a conversation between some girls across the street.
"Hey, isn't that..." "It is! It's her!" The two of them seemed to be whispering to eachother, but they were still loud enough to hear. When you looked up, both of the girls were looking at you, so you gently smiled and waved at them. However, after you greeted them, the two girls shot eachother almost disgusted looks before walking away. Although their actions confused you, you hoped it wouldn't occur again and went about your day.
But then it happened again. And again. And again and again and again.
And the more it happened, the more confused and worried you got. Why was everyone staring at you? Why was everyone whispering about you? Why did everyone seem repulsed whenever they looked at you? Why-
"You don't deserve it!" some random girl suddenly yelled at you as she purposefully blocked your path. You were stunned. Confused, you asked her, "I... Don't deserve what?"
"You don't deserve anything, idiot!" The girl groaned and rolled her eyes at you, "You have practically everything that anyone in town could ever want, but you didn't do anything to deserve it!"
When you heard those words, said with such malice and hatred, you fell silent.
After a few moments of not knowing how to respond, you bolted back home.
Quickly, you placed everything you bought onto the kitchen counter before rushing to your bedroom to let it all out.
You practically collapsed into your bed, choking out pitiful sobs. They were right. Everything everyone said about you was right. You didn't deserve anything. You did nothing to deserve what you had.
You must have sobbed for hours. You must have been so absorbed in your own self-doubt for you to not notice someone entering the room.
Then, suddenly, you were enveloped in a familiar warmth. Suddenly, you heard a familiar voice trying to comfort you.
"Hey, sweetie, what's wrong?" your husband, Royal Margarine Cookie, gently asked you. You couldn't bring yourself to respond. "You know you can tell me anything, right? No matter what's troubling you, I'll always listen to what you have to say." He pulled you closer to him.
Gingerly, he caressed you and whispered reassurances in your ear. "Hey, it's okay. It'll be okay. Everything will be okay. Just let it all out, my dear. It's alright. I'm here. I'll always be here for you."
After who knows how long, your sobs eventually died down, yet you still clung desperately to your husband. "Now that you've calmed down a bit, mind telling me what's wrong, darling?" Royal Margarine Cookie whispered in your ear.
Quietly, you informed him of your insecurities and what people were saying about you, your voice still hoarse and shaky from crying. "Everyone was saying that I don't deserve anything, and, as much as I hate to admit it, I know they're right."
Suddenly, Royal Margarine Cookie gently grapped your chin and looked you in the eye, a serious expression on his face. "No, they're wrong. Everything they said is wrong," he paused for a moment to kiss your freckles and wipe away any stray tears falling from your eyes, "You do deserve this. You absolutely deserve everything that you have. You deserve the world.
"You're beautiful. You're the most beautiful cookie I've ever met, and you deserve the world."

I know I already answered some asks about my fics for 2023, but I wrote a review for my fics last year, so I'm doing it again this year. Let's get started! All the data comes from my AO3 statistics. All the rest is under a cut because it's long!
My Fic Review for 2023
Statistic Stuff
My "Top Five" fics by hits:
Just a Normal Citizen (Not a Dimension Traveler) - Twisted Wonderland
Daydreams - Twisted Wonderland
Stay where you are - Twisted Wonderland
Setting the Scene - Twisted Wonderland
Broken Kitchen - Twisted Wonderland
My most bookmarked fic: Just a Normal Citizen (Not a Dimension Traveler)
How many words I wrote in 2023: 235,377
Question Stuff
What was the most surprising thing about writing in 2023?
I think the most surprising thing about this year was the amount of Twisted Wonderland fics I wrote. While I got into the game in 2022, it wasn't until this year you can see it dominate my fanfics. Writing for a new fandom is always a gamble. Just because I get into a new fandom doesn't always mean I write fanfics for it, but Twisted Wonderland won the gamble ahaha.
2. What was the most enjoyable to write?
The most enjoyable thing to write this year was my Platonic Yandere AU. The idea of all the NRC cast deciding to silently keep Yuu from going home haunted my mind for months. Bringing it to life was fun and I'm so happy that others like this idea too.
3. Which fic is the most underrated?
I know I've already talked about my poor Fire Emblem fic Divine Intervention being underrated and I still stand by this answer. However, I'm adding another story to this answer. I also think that Energy Drinks (SDR2) is underrated and I'd love to see more love to that story.
4. Which fic(s) had something "cut" or had an idea that never happened?
-I had more violent scenes in mind for Just a Normal Citizen (Not a Dimension Traveler), particularly with Jade/Floyd as well as Leona, but those never happened. Mostly because all the cast decided to keep their illegal activities "secret" from Yuu. Those scenes may still happen later in the story.
-Yuu's reveal of coming from another dimension had other versions that just couldn't happen. All of them a little too dramatic so they were scrapped. I'm happy where it landed though.
-In Dorm Exchange I was also going to write some of the exchange part, but I never got around to it and focused on the deciding process.
-In Late Night Snack I originally wanted Yuu and Vil's conversation to be a little more confrontational. That didn't pan out and I'm happier for it.
5. Which fic did you want to write but didn't get around to?
-I wanted to write a fic where established Vil/Rook high key flirt with other characters that they're attracted to. The main candidate for this is Trey but other characters include: Jack, Cater, Deuce, Ace, and of course Yuu. Though I think I get enough Vil/Rook flirting with Yuu in other fics ahaha.
-For my Platonic Yandere AU I have ideas for where Grim falls on the scale of "Keep Yuu in Twisted Wonderland". I don't know if I'd write a full separate fic, but the idea could appear in another fic in Yuu's perspective. Also, I have more ideas for this AU so stay tuned.
-Said this in an ask before but I want to write another instalment in my Kitsune!Komaeda and Human Hajime fic series.
-Briefly thought about writing another Dr. Stone fic because of Season Three and rereading the manga.
-I still have a silly JJK/SK8 the Infinity fic sitting in my WIPs that I'd like to write for the laughs.
6. Any WIPs that never got published?
I have two main ones. First, I have a story about Malleus who normally eats lunch alone (if not accompanied by Lilia, Silver, or Sebek) and Kalim deciding that can't happen and Malleus needs to eat with him and his friends. I didn't finish this because at the time I was writing a LOT of food in my fics and felt it was very repetitive.
Next, I have a story of Lilia finding Silver and the process of raising Silver as his son. I didn't finish this mostly because that's when Book 7 dropped in Japan and my story would 100% contradict canon and I hate when I do that.
7. Share a snippet from a WIP fic?
Here is a snippet from Malleus eating lunch alone and Kalim deciding this cannot happen. Fic title in my WIPs is "Homemade Lunches".
"Deciding on his sandwich first, Malleus reached to pick it up when a blur of warm crème and red flashed towards him. A beat later and Kalim plopped down beside Malleus, angling himself so the trunk of the tree slightly hid him. Kalim warmly smiled before pressing a single finger to his lips, the universal sign of “be quiet”, and watched as a few Scarabia members ran past him, their footsteps frantic. When they passed and didn’t return Kalim exhaled audibly.
If Malleus were asked to describe Kalim, he’d say Kalim was like a desert breeze that morphed into human form so it could dance and sing with abandon. Wherever Kalim went warmth followed him, like the taste of chili powder, cinnamon, cloves, and other spices Malleus vaguely remembered from souvenirs Lilia had brought back. Kalim’s warmth always lingered on the tongue before dancing its way down into the heart."
8. Which fic was the one you were most "excited" to write?
I was most excited to write The smell of bleach for @m34gs as part of our Sort of Saw AU. At that point the story idea had only been scattered in ask answers, our DMs, and over phone calls. Bringing our conversations together into a single fic was so exciting! Honestly, this entire AU excites me so much!
Anyways, here is my little review. I hope you enjoyed reading it! And if you have anything you want me to expand on, feel free to send an ask!

A Night to a Decade of Faith
Tags: late night walks; burnout; autumn stuff idk skkssks you'd get what i mean if you'd give it a read :>
Summary: hiro struggled with a lot of things, getting into sfit was just one. surviving it was another. a walk, he reckoned, would help with his mental state. however, little did he know, a soul would come to give him clarity... and also a little patience for a decade of waiting
Word Count: 2737
College—my, Hiro thought it was going to be just easy. He thought that it was just all about finessing your output, and with the simplest one, he could easily impress his professors.
But he was wrong. It was far from being easy. High school always had his name as the top student—the best student, actually. Which got him to accelerate and advance further than those who are of his age. It was simple to get on top of everything. College, however—the exact opposite.
He feels like he's behind of his game. No matter how hard he studies, no matter how hard he grinds, it just doesn't feel as if he's excelling anymore. And as someone who wasn't used to this sort of feeling, he feels kinda trashy to say the least.
And it was one of those days, where burnout got the best of him.
7 o'clock, his clock read. The cursor on the screen blinked, waiting to be moved by his hands that kept running through his hair for more than he could count. Frustration bubbled down from within, and he feels the need to lash out.
Sighing heavily, he tried to look at it from another angle, however, the more he looked, the less he found coherency. Out of frustration, he pushed himself out of his swivel chair and up the stairs to his room.
His project was actually due tomorrow, and because of midterms from last week, he felt really burned out and empty of any sort of brilliancy.
All this is too tiring, he thought of himself.
But he didn't want to fail.
Not finishing that project would mean jeopardizing his midterm grades, and he doesn't want that to happen. But he also just couldn't find it in himself to go and actually start it out because there were no ideas coming.
And so, in a quick spiral he went, going through a lot of things at once before actually grasping the full meaning of his thoughts that kept plaguing his mind.
Too absent minded, he dragged himself out of bed, grabbed his jacket, and made a beeline to the front door. He didn't bother saying goodbye to his Aunt, who was still busy manning the cashier despite the late hour.
The cold city air immediately greeted him, with the soft buzzing of the cars zooming in the distance, and the occasional honks of mad drivers in the street—yup, this was San Fransokyo.
He held his jacket closer to his body as he turned to a random direction. The city was still pretty much alive at this hour, with some of the streets clogged with vehicles rushing to get home, or to wherever their destination may be. Strangers pushed passed him, yet he was pretty much a walking corpse in the middle of a lively crowd, he let them.
He was reaching  a point in his walk where his brain shut down all the thoughts. Mindlessly, he continued to wander on to a city where his inner musings were drowned with the humming of the evening life. Only then did he found himself in the middle of a silent road, dimly lit with street lamps and quaint lanterns hung in ununiformed directions.
For a moment, he was worried that he stumbled on a way to the cat alley where he used to go bot fighting. However, upon further inspection, he noticed that it was not the same. Sighing, he was about to try and trace his way back home when his stomach grumbled in hunger. Which then reminds him he didn't eat anything for lunch, and also dinner.
And so, off he went to look for a diner, only to slap himself on the forehead because he didn't bring any change with him. Well, he couldn't entirely blame himself, his mental state wasn't on the most optimal.
Footsteps sounded from behind him, and on instinct, he turned to see a cute looking girl in a black leather jacket approaching him.
She held a cup of takeaway from an open shop nearby, the smell wafting unto Hiro's nostrils, causing his stomach to churn. Letting out a discreet sigh, he just turned around and tried to mentally retrace his footsteps.
The smell grew closer and closer, and Hiro's mind only circled unto that, grasping it like it was the only coherent thing around. He mentally slapped himself for only focusing on the food instead of trying to remember the path that he took for him to get here.
"You lost?" A soft voice questioned. He turned, only to see the same girl that he had seen a moment ago.
"I—" he was speechless, embarrassed even. Because the idea just sunk in, he got lost in his own city. And it's pretty poetic, too.
With a soft smile, she immediately got her answer, "No one stumbles here unless they're actually sure that this is their stop. You new here?" She tilted her head to the side, sending him a questioning look.
"I actually live here but—" his statement was cut off when his stomach loudly grumbled, embarrassing him in front of the cute girl in front of him. She hummed before offering him the treat she had.
One by which he, hesitating, gently accepted from her grasp.
"Uh, thanks."
She smiled, the most charming he ever saw someone smile for possibly his whole life. "Anytime, now let me help you find your way back. Trying to navigate this area is quite of a pain if you ask me, you might get even more lost. You're from the main, right? Looks like you kinda wandered a bit too far out because the city's kind of a walk from here." With that, they begin walking back, retracing Hiro's steps.
"Uh, thanks," he uttered, digging in on the food she had with her.
"You're welcome. You okay, though?" She asked, hugging her jacket closer to her body as the cold air blew passed them, softly shaking the lanterns that contributed the soft glow of the area.
"M'fine," he answered simply, looking down at his shoes.
Her gaze lingered a bit before turning back to the road, "Doesn't look like it," she uttered. "You seemed kinda lost. Although, if you don't want to tell me, it's fine. I won't pry."
He let out a breath, white vapors escaping unto the atmosphere formed, "Just kinda burned out," Hiro replied, "but that doesn't matter anyway."
She guided him to a turn and into an open road, "Hmm, high school?"
He opened his mouth to reply, eyeing both sides of the road before crossing along the pedestrian, "College."
With that, she paused and threw him a gaze, her mouth slightly parted in shock from the unexpected information, "Okay, first off, I wasn't expecting a kid as young as you to be in college."
He only slightly chuckled at her response, he got that a lot so he was used to it. "Well, my brother forced me to go to college actually. "
She hummed, the tone a bit disdainful. "He sounds kinda boring," she commented, to which Hiro only laughed at.
He refuted her statement, "No, no. The opposite, actually. But sometimes, he could get a bit... protective?"
"Hmm, what does he do then?" The both of them paused in front of a stop light, waiting for the lights to go red.
"He actually studies at SFIT."
"Wow. I take back what I said. He sounds cool," she smiled, "And where do you study, then?"
"SFIT," he casually replied before crossing the road, almost leaving his companion behind, the latter with wide eyes.
This kid's a genius, she mentally remarked as she caught up with his long stride.
"Okay, wow. I heard it's hard getting in there?"
"Well, I'm not sure with the other programs but with robotics, you just have to think of a good invention that'll impress the judges and the professors—"
She felt something inside her head, something that resembled the sound of a lightbulb lighting up, "You're in the robotics program?"
"Uh, yeah."
Aw, he's cool, she thought.
With a smile, she spoke in awe, "Okay, wow. Like how do you get your life sorted just like that?"
He threw her a side-glance, "What do you mean?"
She gave a little shrug, "Like, you people actually know what you want to do in life, huh?"
"Well, actually, about that... It took me a while to know what I want to do in life. But it only took my brother's convincing and tour around the lab to get me to decide," he replied.
"And what about you? What do you do? You know, you're not supposed to be talking to strangers. I could've murdered you," he teasingly said.
"I like to take my chances. And says you! I could've poisoned you," she teasingly retorted.
"But you didn't."
"Some poison takes time to react with the body," he almost stopped in shock. Upon noticing his slowly blanching features, she laughed. "Oh my gosh, chill! I didn't, and why would I be leading you to a crowded place then?"
"But yeah. I really don't know what I want to do in life. I don't feel like I belong to anything. Dropped out of high school because of those bullies, and also, because of my teachers and stuff. And yeah, I'm just literally floating around, existing..."
"You'll eventually find out what you want to do in life. Just give it time. I'm not entirely sure with mine but well, here we are."
"Do you love what you do?"
"Yeah, don't get me wrong but it's just really stressful to always be up my game all the time. I also have other responsibilities aside from just being a student," he sighed, pulling her back from almost hitting a lamp post, "okay, careful there."
"Close call, thanks."
"But yeah, you get it."
"Well, when was the last time you had fun?" She asked.
"I don't remember," he replied.
"Well, that's exactly what you need—I know a place! C'mon, it's gonna  be great!"
With that, the two of them changed directions. How they managed to establish a slither of trust and bond in that small moment, they don't know. But they were sure that they were comfortable with each other.
He made a mental note to always put spare change in him before leaving the house—either mentally or physically not okay.
And so, their little adventure began. He could say that the feeling was a bit cliche—as if out of a fictional bestseller that sat in bookstores. He couldn't find the words to describe what it felt like running down the dimly lit streets whilst laughing at corny jokes and random memories. She was one of a kind, and that's when it all made sense—she really didn't belong to anyone.
She is a free soul.
She belongs to the stars, the skies, and the dimly lit streets of July. She was the piece of summer that giggled in the early autumn evening. She was a beautiful soul, and that, in and of itself, is a high compliment.
From licking ice creams in the late hours, laughing at kids in the convenience store, and reminiscing about late summer ventures, to ultimately questioning what they want to do in life.
"I have a lot of ambitions, actually," she told him. The two of them sat on a bench, eyeing the full moon that slowly rose from behind the tall buildings of the city. She looked at the bag of chips that she grasped, skimming through the wrapper absent-mindedly. "But I really can't bring myself to continue on with schooling."
It was late, and Hiro knew that his project was waiting at home. But he couldn't have the heart to tell her about that mere fact. Nor does he even have the will power to get himself to stand up from that bench.
It was a beautiful evening, and he doesn't have the conscience to ruin it for himself, nor for her too.
"Then, why not? I mean, we only live once. You gotta go and chase those ambitions," he replied.
"Well, I'm thinking it's kinda impossible? I mean, it's all crazy to me. And I really don't know if I can get myself to continue on... with it," she hesitated a bit.
"Well, you really wouldn't know if you won't try," he looked at the street, "I got to a point where I almost gave up trying to get into SFIT, but sometimes, you just got to look at another angle and give it another try."
A smile ghosted her lips, one that was bordering on in between bitterness and nostalgia, "Hmm, you're right. But aside from that, I don't think there's a path for someone like me."
"Then make one for yourself," he replied with a cheeky smile.
She returned it, but it was accompanied with the feeling of new found clarity.
"Hmm, yeah. Why haven't I thought of that?"
Her companion only shrugged.
Her phone then rang, signaling her that it was time to leave.
"Ah, that's my que," she said, crestfallen, "But hey, don't stress out too much with your academics. Trust me, you're doing great. Oh, and just hit me up if you need someone, 'kay?"
And from that, goodbyes were exchanged.
Yet sometimes, when you're having too much fun, you forget to exchange names.
...and contact numbers.
~
The next morning, Hiro woke up to the sun shining directly on his eyes. Noticing that he fell asleep on his desk, he opened his computer immediately, slightly panicking and trying to remember if he, indeed, finished his project.
And he did.
And it was all thanks to...
...what's her name again?
He racked his brain for any sort of information about her, but he couldn't seem to remember anything about her.
Then, it all sunk in.
Was she even real?
Groaning, he slouched on his chair, he wasn't even sure anymore.
And so, from that day on, he continued to live his life, but not without even wondering about her; Was she okay? Did she go on to pursue her ambitions and make a  way for herself? A path carved with a shovel of uncertainty—either she stops  or she continues on. He wondered if she ever came back to school.
And with each wondering came the feeling of slowly losing her into nothing but a memory of yesterday. He didn't want that. He wants nothing of that.
With every leather jacket he sees on the streets, he makes sure to stop to look, silently hoping that he'd see the same smile that she offered him in that chilly autumn evening. With every smile people offered him, he knew that she was different, as it spoke millions into just one grin. He tried to look for her, really, that people around him almost dubbed him as the crazy one trying to hunt something down that had little to no identity. Nothing but a soul.
He tried to locate where he once found himself lost, but she did, in fact, say that it was hard to locate even for locals. He reached a point where he just decided to let things be. There will come a time where their paths will cross, and that's for sure.
He couldn't help but sometimes feel insane. She might be a fever dream for all he knew, all was uncertain. But it's the faith that had him clinging on to the memory that she left, it was faith that had him clinging on to the sound of her laughter that rang late at that specific evening. It was the small sliver of faith that got him to claim that no, he wasn't crazy.
He laughed at his own analogy, a free soul.
She did resemble one, because she appeared only for a moment of fun before disappearing God knows where.
A decade onward did he begin to once again question his own sanity.
The same laughter that rang through the silence of the cold convenience store played with his ears. Blinking, he straightened up, despite the heavy box of robotic parts he was carrying back to the lab, and looked around.
And again, it went.
He was sure he wasn't insane...
Frantically he searched for a sliver of familiarity.
He was totally crazy for holding on to this for more than a decade but he didn't care. He was hoping...
"You lost?"

blue bag- jay park
genre: fluff, angst, bad boy au
tw: street violence, mentions of gangs
-------
Jay's reputation at Belift wasn't exactly a secret to most people. The loose uniform with the leather jacket, covered bruises, and exposed tattoos were noticeable to anyone who bothered to pay attention.
Most people would like to assume to not judge him by his appearance, but his character matched it to a tea. He never bothered to give anyone the time of the day, much less even look in their direction. The only people who received such privileges were his closest six friends.
Or anyone who dared to cross his path- including the slight punches he's thrown at the occasional classmate.
But people couldn't see behind his intentions. Like the time he almost beat one of uppers to a pulp when they tried picking on jungwon his first year. All good intentions.
On this fateful day, the teacher had thought a slight change would mix things up. Instead of placing Jay in the back by himself like usual, he placed him right beside you.
"Hi Jay!" Your warm welcome startled him to say the least. Sure, he was used to love letters by other girls, but you didn't really look at him that way.
He stayed silent and placed his head back onto the desk. At the end of class, you bid him goodbye and walked out with your friends who seemed to tattle over him almost immediately.
-------
After yet again another argument with the rivaling gang leader, he finds himself cornered in the back of an alley way. Maybe it wasn't the smartest idea to think you could fight five men at once.
Tired, and out of breath, he's barely holding onto himself before there's a final blow to his lower stomach, collapsing onto the ground before him.
The men are about to approach him, this time, aiming towards his back, but retreat at the sounds of a siren.
"Here, hurry! They might come back." He looks up and finds it's you, carrying a bag in one hand and reaching out towards him with the other.
"Get lost." Jay, who is too stubborn to ask for help, attempts to get up before his knees give up on him.
"You can't walk. Stop being a bitch and let me help you." You swing his arm over your shoulder, and pull him up, guiding him towards the exit of alley way. At the closest convenience store, you rest him on a bench, bringing a towel to his face to wipe off the blood from his brow and lip.
"How did you see me?" He barely manages to ask.
"I didn't know it was you until I saw your face, which is very beat up by the way." He observes quietly and patiently waits for you retreat the towel from his face, slowly admiring the way you move your eyebrows while humming a small beat.
“I’m done. I’ll call a taxi to take you home so you can finish up. I’m going to assume this isn’t the first time you get beat up.” Jay, snapping back to reality, stands up quickly and blocks your view of the street.
“I can manage. Now go home.” He nods towards the direction of the grand city.
“You can barely walk. Either I take you home, or text someone to come pick you up.” Jay immediately takes the second option, and searches quickly for his phone before realizing he must of left at it home.
“Go ahead, call the taxi.” He mutters under his breath. The bright lights signal to him that he has arrived, and in silence, you drop him off, and leave, not letting Jay even look back and say a quick ‘thank you.’
-----
If Jay didn’t know any better, it’s almost as if nothing had occurred yesterday. He’s still wearing his black mask to cover up his bruises, but you walked in with a smile and the same welcome from the past two weeks.
Usually, he would turn the other way or not even bother to look at you, but his slight nod was reassurance enough.
At the end of class, he was almost the last to leave, given that he had woken up from napping the entire class. Rather than seeing the empty room he was used to waking up in, he saw you again in front of him, holding a blue bag.
“Here. Eat well okay?” You left the bag onto his desk and walked out again before he could respond. He stuffed the bag into his backpack and went towards the lunch room he was used to meeting his friends in.
“Jay’s late and beat up. What a surprise.” Sunoo’s snarky comment doesn’t catch him off guard, and instead pulls out the blue bag from his backpack and rests it on the table.
“Oh? Jay brought lunch? Quick, let’s rate his cooking skills.” Before Jay can react, Heeseung had already snatched it from the table, pulling out a Tupperware with a sticky note on top.
“Who’s y/n? And why did she call you a loser?” Heeseung asks, opening the container to a bento box.
“No one, now give it back.” Jay takes back the container, almost admiring the contents inside.
It was the first time his heart began to take notice of you.
-----
Everyone was quickly suspicious about Jay’s relationship with you. It all started with him publicly going to you and thanking you for the food. Then it was the constant good mornings when you would welcome him at the beginning of class. Then it was the morning coffee, and walking you to class in the morning. He was practically stuck to you when he wasn’t with his friends.
“You know, I think Jay likes you.” One of your friends mentioned casually, causing you to roll your eyes.
“Stop taking those rumors too seriously, he’s just paying back a favor.”
Yet, your friends weren’t the only ones who were beginning to notice. Most noticeably, Jay’s very own friends.
“Sunghoon, I don’t like her, so can you shut up?” Jay, almost irritated by the constant confusion of emotions.
“So, you wouldn’t mind her being so close with Sunoo?” Jake points at your direction. You laughing and trying to hold yourself together while punching Sunoo in the arm.
“No. Of course not." Yet, he still finds himself burning holes into Sunoo's skull as he sees you wrap an arm around his neck to pull him into a head lock.
It seemed as if that was the last straw because in the next moment, Sunghoon was attempting to prevent Jay's next big mess.
"Get your hands off him." Jay commands, catching not only your attention, but those around him as well.
"Relax Jay, she's just playing around." Sunoo gets himself out of the head lock, and looks at your face who's been cleared of any laughter.
"I'll see you later Sunoo." You can't even look at Jay in the eyes before walking off with another friend.
"What's wrong with you? You know she wasn't hurting me!"
"Don't talk to me right now Sunoo." Jay storms off in the opposite direction while Sunoo turns his head to the side at Sunghoon.
"Am I going to die?"
"Not yet anyway. I think if you stay off y/n, maybe it'll extend your life line." Sunghoon states honestly.
"What do you think would happen if I told him she's my cousin?"
"I don't know but I've never seen Jay so..like this. Its a good look on him."
However, Jay is his full fledged rage, begins to shove everyone in his way including a poor freshman who happens to fall in front of your locker.
"Jay what the fuck!? Are you okay?" You crouch down and reach your hand out, giving Jay a bitter feeling.
"Is this how you catch men? You pretend to be the good guy?"
"Excuse me?" You repeat, shocked at Jay's sudden attitude.
"Nevermind just stay away from me? Got it?" You don't even process the words before he dashes off, ignoring his friends who are attempting to catch his attention.
"Sunghoon, what's his issue ?" Sunghoon only let's out a heavy sigh before shrugging his shoulders.
"It's not my business, but I can assure you that anger won't end well."
-----
And it just so happens that Sunghoon's response was quiet accurate considering Jay's familiar situation. He's been long enough member of his gang to know what territories they're not exactly welcomed.
Yet, he doesn't care and does so anyway because anything is better than having to imagine you with some one else.
"Haven't seen you in a while Jay, must have been busy hmm." The leader mocks him, but it only infuriates the pent up anger within him causing him to land a punch at his gut.
"Don't test me." And as if history repeats itself, he finds himself once more cornered in the back of an alley way. With the collection of bruises forming on his stomach, one could tell he was a kick or two away from a good surgery.
"Jay! Stop!" He curses himself mentally when he watches you run towards him.
"You better leave pretty one...I mean unless..." He approaches you, reaching for your chin to tilt it sidewards, leading to Jay using his last strength to push him off you.
"Don't touch her." Jay grits his teeth, earning a smirk that quickly turns into a frown at hearing the sound of police sirens.
"You got lucky this time." He flees the scene leaving you again with a bloodied up Jay.
"You promised me to not fight anymore!" Jay chooses to ignore you and limps away to a nearby post.
"And I told you to stay away from me y/n. I don't need people like you to worry about me because they pity me" He responds.
"How am I not supposed to worry when you left so suddenly? One moment we're good and the next you're mad at Sunoo and everyone?" You place him on the stair case while getting your first aid kit ready.
"How am I supposed to stay away when you worry me? Do you have any idea how fast I ran here with this when Jake told me you weren't at your house?" You continue to apply a bit of alcohol on his open cuts.
"I'm sorry, I was upset. I saw you with Sunoo earlier and I don't know what came over me. Sunoo is so darn perfect, and what about me? I was afraid you'd leave me." Jay mumbles the last part quietly, but you manage to hear it well.
Without much hesitancy, you press a light kiss onto his bruised and swollen lips. He gasps slightly but manages to wrap his arms around your waist.
"I'm not leaving okay, I'm here to stay if you want me to." Jay grabs you and pulls you in for a hug, resting his face in the crook of your neck.
"Please stay." He mumbles, letting his grip on you get stronger. He stays there for a while, before looking at the blue bag in your hand.
"What's this?"
"I brought some dinner because I figured you would be too lazy to do it yourself and end up eating frozen nuggets again." He smiles slightly before admiring your features.
"I really like you y/n.." Jay confesses, still in the position of hugging you.
"I like you too Jay...I really do." A grin forms on his face and he drops another kiss on your cheek before leading the way out.
Perhaps Jay wasn't exactly perfect, but you always knew he was more than ready to love and learn by your side.

a/n: this has been sitting in my drafts haha, but I figured we could all use a little fluff with everything going on :( <3

Life is much different for you now than it was five years ago. Long gone are the days where there was a shyness about you, and your nerves rattled at the idea of forming friendships of this ragtag band of warriors. Time has been good to you, and after years of being a part of this little, mix-matched family founded by Uhtred of Bebbanburg, it’s safe to say you knew these men well. You understand all of their quirks and knew all the signs of how they behaved. The good days and the bad days were easy to recognize, and when mood swings would accord or the occasional argument between them would happen you’d know just how to put out the fire.
It’s this ability to understand these misunderstood warriors that brought you close to Finan, and in what felt like a blink of an eye… you were his wife.
And he was an excellent husband.
You understood him the most. Finan could not hide his moods from you. Happiness, frustration, anger. You knew the calling card for all of his moods, and he knew all of yours. When you first realized he had feelings for you, you could pinpoint all the little things he would try to do to get you to realize he loved you. It was heartwarmingly adorable and you didn’t let him go long without telling him you felt the same. Since your marriage, you have been a unit in sync. There is nothing Finan can hide from you after almost four years of marriage.
Including when he’s being an absolute menace.
You're in your kitchen making lunch, a large pot of stew over the fire because part of you already expects to feed more than just your family. It’s what you do at this point. You may have married Finan, but you feel like you married the whole crew of warriors with the way you care for them. The food is just about done when, just as expected, Finan comes bursting through the front door with Sihtric in tow.
By the way they come in giggling like children, you know they’re up to no good.
“I know you are not tracking dirt through my home, Finan,” You tell him as you stir your wooden spoon through the pot, and you can hear your husband coming up from behind you.
He kisses the side of your head, “I would never, darlin’,” Finan snickers, placing a hand on your rather round belly, “And how is the wee man today?”
“You are going to regret calling her that when she reveals herself as a daughter,” You smirk as you glance his way and he gives you another kiss, “Speaking of wee men, where is Aethelstan?”
“With Osferth and Eadith,” Sihtric explains as he sits at your table, and you can hear Finan walk around your home. When you glance back, he’s making the table for four.
“And what is he doing with Osferth and Eadith?” You ask as you fully turn around to look at both men, only to find them poorly failing at hiding their smiles, “Finan?”
“Yes, my love?” He asks as he returns to your side, and by his smile you know he's up to no good.
"Where is that boy of yours, and do not lie to me," You tell him with a raised brow and arms crossed so he knows you mean business.
You call Aethelstan just his when the two of them are on your nerves, but the boy is yours. Even though, technically, he is not.
"He's doing us a favor, Y/N, he will be home shortly," Sihtric tells you, trying to save Finan from whatever hole he's currently digging himself.
"Uh-huh," You smirk and now Finan is carefully trying to push you away from the food you are cooking, "What are you doing?"
"Finishin’ for you," Finan tells you with another kiss on your head, "Go sit, I'll bring the pot to the table."
You glance between the two men and head to the table anyway, sitting down next to Sihtric, "Who are you two, and what have you done with my husband and his best friend?"
"We are always this compassionate, Y/N," Finan chuckles as he brings over lunch, "Oi, go grab bread," he whistles to Sihtric and the Dane stands and does as he's told, "You shouldn't be workin' so hard when you're busy makin' us such a wonderful child."
Okay, now you know they're up to no good.
Before you can ask what they’ve done, Aethelstan all but bursts through the front door, slamming it rather hard for a child before realizing you are at the table staring at him. He smiles wide, the cheeky grin a telltale sign of trouble he picked up from Finan in the year of you raising him. He walks directly to you, like he hasn’t done a thing wrong, and places a kiss on your cheek. (Another sign he’s gotten from Finan, as well.) “Hello, Mother.”
“Go clean yourself up before lunch, you little trouble maker,” Your smirk at the boy, and Finan ruffles his hair as he runs off. The two of you aren’t really supposed to let him call you by those names, but neither of you has the heart to tell him otherwise. Besides, it’s already been a year and if he wants to call you Mother and Father that’s exactly what he’s going to call you.
Aethelstan cleans himself up and then joins you all at the table, sitting down across from Sihtric and next to Finan. The two of them move in sync as they fold their hands over together above their food, and to the side of you, Sihtric lowers his head in respect for your religion.
“Thank you, Father, for this delicious meal we are about to receive, and for this family you allowed us to grow,” Finan prays and you just stare at him with eyebrows scrunched and your lip curled into a smirk.
Because you know that getting Finan to pray before meals is usually a hassle.
“In your name, we pray,” Aethelstan continues, “Ahem.”
The three of you sign to your God and Sihtric just keeps his head down till you are done, and then the three men start to eat. You, however, just continue to stare at your husband until he finally looks at you and smiles, “What?”
“You are all very well behaved today,” You start to tell them all, and Finan just smiles wider as you lean forward and rest your chin in your hand, “What have you done?”
“You know us, Y/N, nothin’ too awful,” Finan starts to explain.
“It’s true, Y/N,” Sihtric adds as he rips himself a piece of the bread loaf, “We only do things out of love. That’s just the kind of warriors we are.”
“Aye, he’s right.” Finan agrees as he continues eating.
“Oh, I am sure,” You say in response even though you don’t believe any of them, but luckily enough for them your too hungry to push the topic further. So instead, you start to eat the lunch you’ve slaved over and enjoy this time with your family.
The meal is mostly quiet, albeit some sweet words of gratitude from the men at your table, thankful for the meal you prepared for them. You almost make it through the whole thing in peace, when a knock at your door startles the men.
“Finan? Sihtric! I know you are in there,” It’s Osferth, and he sounds rather frustrated. He knocks on the door again, a little harder, as the two men at your table start to slowly rise and head for the back room. “Open up! We need to talk, now!”
Finan and Sihtric start to sneak for the back door, shit-eating grins on both of their faces, “We were not here, Y/N, we have not been home all mornin’.” He tells you as they make their escape, leaving you there to roll your eyes and answer the door yourself.
When you open the door to greet Osferth, he looks absolutely flustered, “Osferth, how are you today?”
“Lady, I have been better,” He’s always so polite, the sweet former monk, and no matter how many times you tell him not to call you lady, he cannot seem to shake his manners, “I hate to bother you, but I need to speak with Finan and Sihtric.”
You chuckle, folding your arms across your belly, “You just missed them, but I have some stew left over from lunch if you are hungry.”
“I should be on my way, I really need to speak with them,” Osferth explains as he rubs at the back of his neck and you chuckle at the shyness he holds after years of friendship.
"Osferth, come in and tell me what my husband and Sihtric have done," You open your door wider and move to the side so he can come in, and after a second of hesitation, he sighs and complies.
Osferth walks over to the table that Aethelstan has managed to vanish from without you noticing and slumps into his seat, "I am going to kill them." He groans half-heartedly.
You laugh, grabbing him a clean bowl before joining him at the table, "What did they do?"
"Sihtric told Eadith I am interested in her, and then Finan had Aethelstan pick flowers for her saying they were from me," Osferth sighs heavily as you serve him some stew, "They've ruined everything."
"I thought you did fancy Eadith? What's the problem?" You ask him as you put the bowl of stew in front of him.
"She does not think of me in that way," He groans, looking defeated, "Now she'll think I'm a pervert who only wishes to hump her."
"Or she will think you are shy, and that Finan and Sihtric should mind their own business," You tell him as he eats through his frustration, "My husband may be a menace, but he does the stupid things he does out of love."
"She does not think of me in that way, Y/N," He tells you as he temporarily lowers his spoon, "She is beautiful… and I am just- a baby monk."
You laugh with a big smile across your face because your friend couldn't be any more wrong, "Is that really what you think? Osferth, she is clearly fallen for you."
"Do not pity me, Lady, I do not need your lies to lift my spirit," He tells, looking defeated as he finishes his stew.
"Enough of this," You tell him as you take away the dirty dishes and rise from your seat, "You will go to Eadith and confess your feelings, or I will send Aethelstan to do it for you."
"Y/N-"
"Go! Now, before the day is over," You command, shoo-ing him from your table, as he reluctantly rises, "And be sure to come back to thank me when it's over."
He groans as he walks out of your home, making you laugh as you start cleaning plates. A moment or two after he's gone, you can hear creaking coming from your bedroom, and then two big arms wrap around your body.
"Where is Sihtric?" You ask your husband, not needing to turn around to confirm it's him because you would recognize these arms anywhere.
"Gone home to his own wife," Finan tells you with a kiss, "Enjoyin' his final days before Osferth certainly murders us all."
"He will not murder anyone," You chuckle as you turn around, still in his arms, "Osferth may not have your confidence or Sihtrics' flirting skills but I am positive he will find that Eadith shares his feelings."
"How are you so sure?" Finan scrunches his brows in confusion, "And what do you know of how Sihtric flirts?"
You chuckle, standing on your toes to reach your husband's lips as you give him a kiss, "I just know things, my love, it is my gift from God."
Finan grabs you by the cheeks as you lower yourself, kissing you with much more passion, his lips still on yours as he growls, "If I find out Sihtric has tried to bed my wife-"
"It was long before you were mine," You tell him with a smirk, "No need to start anything over it now."
"That is my gift, mo ghrá," He snickers as his kisses move from your lips to your neck, "I am a Warrior of Menace, after all."
You couldn't argue with that as your warrior brings you back to bed, determined to show you just how much he was yours.
An excellent husband, indeed.

“You don’t have to tell me anything, but I’m here for you okay?” keabedo :)
OO oooo ty! I had a bit too much fun with this one.
"You don't have to tell me anything, but I'm here for you okay?"
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
The entire experiment had gone wrong, and Albedo didn't have a clue as to why. He spent weeks gathering materials and writing equations, only to have the beaker explode the second it touched a heat source.
It must have been an issue with the glass. He had no doubt his math was correct. He double -- no, triple checked.
To make matters even worse, a stray glass shard had somehow managed to slice its way clean through his right pinky. Chalk coated his hand, the particles settling deep into his skin. It was a minor inconvenience, a simple fix for someone with his alchemical skills, but it was an inconvenience nonetheless.
The one time he decided not to wear gloves. How could he had been so careless? Pain ached dully in the back of his mind. Bearable, thanks to his not-quite-human composition, but still annoying.
Creating an entirely new finger from scratch would take much more time. It would be easier to connect the old one until he was done with his work.
His pinky. It was somewhere, surely. The last thing Albedo needed was for someone to see him searching through the snow piles-
"Helloo~! Is anyone home?"
Now?
"One second!" It had to be somewhere! Albedo could hear snow crunching under Kaeya's boots.
"Lose something?" He was behind him now. Albedo took a deep breath and stood, careful to hide his missing pinky.
"Oh, nothing important." He waved his spare hand absentmindedly.
"Do you want lunch? Or are you too busy?"
It would be easy to tell Kaeya that he was working and couldn't be disturbed. He had always been so understanding in the past. However... they hadn't seen each other in a while, and he came all that way to bring Albedo something to eat.
He could hide his discomfort for half and hour if it meant Kaeya would be happy.
Hide was a bit harder than he thought. It wasn't easy to eat a sandwich with only one had and make it appear natural, and Kaeya was not stupid. He would suspect something was wrong eventually.
Where did I put my gloves?
They weren't on the table or anywhere on the ground. He still didn't see his finger, either. Perhaps they were-
"Are you okay?" Kaeya asked. He looked concerned, meaning Albedo must have been acting too quiet.
"Yes, I am." Albedo said as calmly as he could manage. He didn't like it when things weren't in their proper place, and his lab was currently a mess. Not knowing where the things he needed were bothered him more than he would like to admit.
He sighed and picked up his drink, bringing the cup to his mouth. It took him a moment too long to realize that he had grabbed it with the wrong hand.
For the most part, Kaeya did not seem as alarmed as any other person would be. He stared at the space where Albedo's pinky should be, his mouth slightly agape.
"Did you get hurt?" His brows creased with concern. "I- Do you need to go to a healer?
"No, no, no, I'm quite alright." They were both standing now, Kaeya closing the space quickly to grab Albedo's hand in his.
"There's no blood." He said, brushing his finger over the crumbling nub. "Why... why is there no blood?"
Albedo wasn't panicking. He didn't panic. Surely Kaeya would understand, it was Kaeya. Albedo knew he would likely have to tell him someday.
Knowing that didn't make it any easier -- where was he supposed to even start?
"You know what, it's okay." Kaeya took a deep breath. He seemed to be able to tell that Albedo was, in a way, short-circuiting.
Later, Albedo would blame his reaction on a combination of stress and the distant pain of losing a finger. Not because there was a part of him that was almost scared of what Kaeya would say if he knew the truth.
"You don't have to tell me everything, but I'm here for you. Okay?"
"Okay." Albedo took a breath, then another. Kaeya's hands were warm in his.
"...Would you mind helping me look for my finger?"

I did it again.... 😶🤫
The Tease in the Recording Studio
Tumblr media
"Try it again, but more seductive. We're going for a sexy vibe for this song, you have to make them feel like YOU want THEM." The producer in charge of the recordings offers. "You've got this, the fans already want you. You just need to give a little extra back to them."
Bangchan runs his hands through his hair. He's been singing the same part over and over, bringing forth his most charismatic personality, but Ms. Park says it's not enough after every recording. "Alright," he sighs, "let's try it again." He puts the headphone back up to his ear but you can see he's tired and confused on what she wants from him now.
"No problem, have a quick drink and we'll roll it back and start at the beginning again." The woman watches Chan through the glass studiously, then turns to you to apologize, "I'm sorry we're taking so long Ms. Y/L/N, but the job isn't done until it's perfect. I know you've been waiting here awhile but I appreciate you being patient with us. It shouldn't take much longer."
You always liked this recording producer. She was brilliant at her job and she's also very sweet and always allowed you to sit in while recording when you got bored of waiting at home. "It's fine! I understand completely. Can I say something to him before you start again though?" You ask.
"Words of encouragement are always welcome. Go ahead!" She shows you what to press to speak to him. You wet your lips and speak clearly through the small mic. "Channie?" He straightens and smiles at your pet name before replying right away, "Its okay if you wanna wait at home sweetheart, I know it's taking me a bit to get this right but I'll be home at some point tonight, you don't have to wait for me."
"What-? I'm not going anywhere," you laugh, "I just wanted to let you know that you can do absolutely do this, I know you're tired but I also know that you've got this!! Just know I'm here to support you!" You offer up a cheesy grin and wink at him causing him to laugh as well.
"Of course I do. I'm sexy after all right? Singing seductively should come easy to me if I don't think too hard." His eyes brighten and he puts his headphones on before giving his producer a thumbs up to signal he's ready.
"Here we go again!" She says cheerfully, as you sit down on the couch to watch your boyfriend make magic happen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A frustrated growl leaves Chan as Ms. Park tells him to take a break. It's been over an hour and he's made no progress. He chugs his water bottle and slams it down. You don't typically see him this angry and maybe it's caused by sitting here for so long but... it's kind of hot. He only gets aggressive when you guys are intimate, becoming a whole other person it seems. You get up to go eat something with him while you all take a break.
You both sit in the small break room together as you watch him eat the small sandwich you brought him from home hours ago.
"I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong?" He complains, furiously taking a bite. "How can I not have given off the right vibe by now?" He licks his lips and you're thighs close on their own, stirring up memories of what the two of you did last night. His tongue seemed to have a map of your pussy memorized. Oh how he took you on a mind altering trip. Bending you to his will, literally.
He notices you're staring into the distance and waves a hand in front of your face, "Y/N? You okay? Maybe you should go home and go to sleep now, it's already 11:18 at night." He reaches down and puts his hand on your knee, you'd worn a cute black skirt that comes about halfway up your thighs. Thanks to his touch alone, an immediate urge woke in you and caused you to almost jolt from the contact. Apparently, your poker face needs some practice because Chan picked up on it almost instantly. His eyes dilate a bit as he watches you take your lower lip into your mouth and your breath hitches.
"Oh princess..." he coos at you teasingly, "does my little love need some special attention?" He slides his hand up from your knee to your thigh and begins to stand up and lean in slowly, almost like a predator stalking his prey. "Well, do you?" Every nerve in your body is firing off and your brain is giving you a fight or flight command, but that's what he wants right? He wants you to feel like prey, like you need to run. You wonder if you don't back off... if you were a bit disobedient, maybe this time you could take charge...how would he react?
Wouldn't hurt to find out right?
"Why does it matter? It's not like we have any time for you to do anything about it." You smirk at him, folding your arms and leaning back. His face goes slack for about .5 seconds before his eyes turns a whole new shade of brown. So dark you could be lost in them forever. "Excuse me-" he begins, teeth gritted, just as the door opens to reveal a newly energized producer.
"LETS GO PARTY PEOPLE! We need to get this done and I feel like this next take is gonna be perfect!" She's comes and goes like a hurricane leading the way to the recording room, with you and Bangchan following behind.
Once you all get to there, Chan immediately goes into the small sound proof portion to begin. However, his eyes continue to flit to you, and you can tell he's a little annoyed with being interrupted in the break room. Especially after your last comment.
Ms. Park tells him he's definitely giving off the right kind of energy atm and to keep his head space where it's currently at for the song.
And then you have a wonderful idea. Seriously, you should be an evil temptress. He nods at her but doesn't take his eyes off you for long as he starts singing. Perfect. You look at the back of his Ms. Park's head making sure she's focused on what she's doing. Before swiping your tongue slowly and suggestively over your lips, making full eye contact with Chan. He stumbles over his words, and Ms. Park sighs and asks him to start over, jokingly saying that that was just a warm up.
You smirk it feels nice to have control especially when he isn't able to do anything about it. You're almost positive that this will come back to bite you in the ass but.... it's kind of fun. So you continue. You lean forward and dig through your purse, fishing out a sucker, but as you do you begin letting your breasts tumble out as much as possible. His voice has a slight subtle change to it. And the producer claps her hands excitedly. So far so good.
You sit up and unwrap the sucker placing it in your mouth as you open your legs widely before crossing them, knowingly giving Chan a peep show. His voice is radiating through your body now causing a deep aching in your cunt. Damn was this what Ms. Park was wanting from him. You didn't know how you felt about other girls receiving this special type of feeling from him. A small sting of jealousy courses through you and though you know how deeply you've both fallen for each other. It's just a song, you tell yourself.
You decide to keep taunting him, and you finally run your tongue of over the sucker. You twist it against your lips before sucking it into your mouth, cheeks hollowing as you slowly pull it back out of your mouth smiling at him. His eyes haven't left you this whole time, and the dangerous and almost feral look he gave you was making you clench at nothing. Your pussy was already slick causing your panties to grow wet with your need. You didn't realize how much you were testing him.
He was already harder than hell but thankfully Ms. Park couldn't tell with his sweats and baggy hoodie on. He didn't know where you got this cocky and teasing attitude from but he couldn't wait to take you home and fuck it out of you. You'd never purposfully been this much of a tease before and he'd be lying if he said he didn't like it. He takes a breath before going into his solo part in the song and in that exact moment, he knew you were going to be punished tonight.
You'd waited for his part to come up and just before it did you spread your legs to show off your soaking panties slowly slipping a hand down over yourself and rubbing gently. You were so caught up on teasing him you hadn't realized how sensitive you'd gotten. The moment you pressed onto your clit you're mouth opened a bit and you wiggle slightly at the stimulation.
And BOY does Chan notice, his hips jerk forward slightly. Chan watches as your legs close tightly around your wandering fingers, wanting so badly to to replace your fingers with his own. He's in the clear now. Finishing the song with a lusty, almost dangerous note as he sees you bring your fingers up to your lips and suck your own juices off of them with a minx-like grin. You pull your skirt back into place and pop the sucker back into your mouth.
"THAT WAS IT! THAT WAS AMAZING! It's exactly what we needed! We are DONE!" Ms. Park yells whilst jumping up and down. She turns to you and thanks you for your support. "I don't know WHAT you did on lunch to help him get the right mood but whatever it was we might have to have you in here more often!" She laughs. You all gather your stuff and part ways once you get out of the building.
Chan wraps an arm around your waist and pulls you in tightly before leaning down, voice rumbling in your ear, "you have awakened a whole new side of me I hope you know that."
You look up at him with the biggest most innocent grin you can muster, the friction of your thighs rubbing together and the meaning behind his words and tone setting your stomach alight with a monstrous sexual hunger. The walk home was difficult for many reasons and at least one of them was because Chan had slipped his hand under your top, fingers brushing your bare skin and adding to the discord of tingles you already had.
"Who would've known you could be such a brat," he says as you both make it to your apartment. He opens the door and let's you walk in first slapping you on the ass and causing you to squeak out in surprise. He enters behind you and locks the door before quickly grabbing your hand and pinning you against the wall. Your lips meet and you can taste his need, the pure desire to ruin you tonight. His hand sneaks into your skirt and panties feeling how wet you were for him. You moan at the contact, your body almost crumbling in on yourself. "Chan" you manage say. "Babygirl- you have a three second head start." He tells you voice coated with a dominant and feral tone as he removes his hand from your warm sheath and licks his fingers clean. "1.......2...." and before he could get to three you bolt for the bedroom, the immense need to run taking over. You haven't even made it 5 feet away before you hear him say three. Before his foot steps are sounding behind you. And all you can think is.
It's going to be a long night.
The ambience of the local cafe never fails to soothe your nerves. The work of a Hero is neverending. After all, no one can tell when a villain might show up and cause destruction. The Hero business is relentless; they will call you up when the job becomes too much for your sidekicks, even on your days off. Of course, you know what you are getting into the moment U.A reached out to you for recommendation trials, and peoples lives are at stake, it was understandable.
The sidekicks are still learning though that doesn't mean that they are not progressing, being the most experienced in the field, they still need your help. You love helping people, don't get it wrong, their smiles and relief noticeable in their faces and posture, the ease they felt when you show up because they knew you are capable of taking that villain down, is enough to make it all worth it. But the reports you have to type up after the fight is less than exciting. Sure you have someone who can do it for you, but that damned Hero Commission wants it to come from you.
So no matter how little time you get to relax, you take advantage of that. Now, here you are, catching up with your best friend since birth in this small, homey cafe. It's rare to have the same day off with someone from class, when you found out that Momo also has her day off today, both of you immediately agreed to meet up. Both of the women practically running up to each other the moment you caught sight on the other side of the road. Wrapping your arms around each other in a tight, and overdue hug, almost squealing in public.
The giddiness from your bodies did not stop even after 30 minutes later, laughing and telling stories from your work and personal life. Even though you already know from your weekly - if not nightly - calls from each other. Bakugou once jokingly said you and Momo act more like in a relationship rather than the both of you do. To tease him back, you wondered out loud if both of you are, you would already be married. Let's say he did not like that one bit, informing the office the next day that you are sick, unable to move your legs and sore body. Fucker just gave you a smug look before leaving to work, Bakugou did cook you breakfast though.
Speaking of him, "Hey- Uhm, I have something to tell you."
Momo looked at you through the top of her mug and gave you a nod. She grew concerned when you bit your lip and traced the rim of your  glass with a finger, "what's wrong?"
"It's silly," you chuckled. Nervous to tell the truth, but you knew you had to take this feeling off of you, and there is no one better to tell your problems to other than your ride or die.
"Is it about Bakugou?" she took your hand and intertwined your fingers together, rubbing her thumb along the back of your hand.
You nodded, "it's just that we haven't spent time with each other as much as we want to. We always find time to eat together, breakfast, lunch, and dinner if one of us is not asleep. We always find time for each other. Now," you gulped. "Now, that rarely happens."
Momo listened to your story silently, smiling softly when your eyes met. "It's not silly (N/n) you miss him. And that is normal for couples, have you talked to him about this?”
"No," you shook your head, embarrassed, "I can never find the right time to swoop it in."
She hummed, tapping her chin in thought. You swear you can see her eyes lit up for a split second before it disappeared. Maybe it was just the trick of the afternoon light, so you shake it off.
"I won't be too worried about him cheating on you if that's what you are implying," your eyes immediately widened and hastily shook your head. Embarrassed flushing red on your face as you frantically waved you hands in denial, "n-no! It's not like that!"
Momo giggled and motioned you to calm down. She's only teasing, no one in class - and the whole world - will question the blond's loyalty towards you.
He won't even spare a second glance at any girls who are throwing themselves at him. That was proven when someone tried to flirt with him at a class field trip during your third year of U.A. Bakugou and you only being in a relationship for less than three months, the blond shut her down rather harshly. You almost feel bad, had you not been telling her he had a girlfriend for 10 minutes straight.
You laughed in your head evilly at her tears.
Do you give a fuck? No not one.
How many fucks do you give? Zero.
Were you mean for thinking that? Absolutely.
Do you regret the minuscule smirk of victory forming on your lips once she ran off, crying? Nope. She had it coming.
"Then there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of," she cooed. "You and Bakugou-san have been inseparable ever since your accidental confession," you groaned, embarrassed. "Maybe he's just busy on a mission? You know how obsessed he is with becoming the number one hero. And now that he's so close to achieving it, he might be losing time for you, but that doesn't mean he loves you any less."
A small smile graced your lips at her, thankful to have Momo as your friend to confide in everything. She was and will always be your safe person, other than Katsuki.
After going through that enemies-to-lovers arc? Did she think that Bakugou would easily sway to another person's pursuit of him? Nah, both of you fought for the other to give that up easily (either together or against each other).
"Make sure to tell him what you feel in all of this. Communication is the most important quality in a relationship." Momo reminded with a stern yet soft voice with a wag of her finger, which caused you to giggle.
"Thanks, Momo," the ebony-haired girl only responded with a grin. Her eyes sparkled, excited about what's to come in the next couple of months.
~*~*~*~*
Right now, you felt like the worst person on the planet. With only three days away until the five-year-anniversary with the love of your life, finding the perfect present is almost impossible. Curse you and your perfectionism!
Not only that but the last couple of weeks had been hectic. You think your manager and agency is purposefully doing this to make you suffer. Villains attacking were the farthest reason for your stress, surprisingly. Sure there are petty crimes here and there, nothing your sidekicks couldn't handle, but the media stuff are the ones weighing you down. You grew accustomed to taking a quick shower, at times, dinner with the blond before crashing down on the bed passed out.
Commercials, photoshoots, travelling, sponsor partnerships here and there, it was almost as if you were back in rising to fame. It was exhausting and frustrating at the same time. You can never seem to find a break anymore. The only time you can rest are lunches with Katsuki and coming home late at night, sleeping.
However, both of you made the most out of it after your lunch with Momo a few months ago. You took her advice and told Katsuki how you felt. No surprises, he understands how you felt, gave you a tight hug and explained everything.
Sadly, he can't tell you the mission. It was confidential. Only the higher up's and the rest of his teammates knows it. You understand it's part of the job at the end of the day. And to keep you from worrying too much even though you know he's capable of taking care of himself out in the field.
Both of you miss each other, and with breakfast and lunch is the only reason you get to see your partner, it was slowly becoming regular to you, much to your dismay. "A small price to pay for becoming a Hero" is what your manager would say.
Waking up in the morning to either you or Katsuki making breakfast, taking turns to visit each other at their agency to bring lunch despite the limited time, it was more than enough.
Being in the mere presence of the other is more than enough.
"(Y/N)! Five minutes left till you have to go!"
The voice of your manager snapped you out of your trance. Turning your gaze from your phone screen to their place in the doorway, clipboard in their grasp, hair messy and dark bags forming under their eyes.
A small, sorry smile formed on my lips. Well, at least they're not the only ones.
"You know, both of us would look much, much better if you reject a sponsorship or two." you teased, walking up to them and patting their shoulder as you walked past them.
They smiled sarcastically in retort.
"I wouldn't have too if not for getting a raise," they mumbled under their breath. Tiredly rubbing their face, reminding themselves to suck it up, only three more days, these will all be over. A raise and a week vacation promised, the ones to look forward too.
"Ah, shit! Almost forgot," they pulled out their phone and typed in another errand.
Accompany (Y/N) today, tomorrow, and the next day to find a gift.
~*~*~*~
You found it, the perfect gift to give your explosive man.
You clapped your hands excitedly, placing the carefully wrapped box on the nightstand atop your beloved night book, away from the possible dangers of the world.
Sighing peacefully, a flopped down your shared bed. Curling up the warm blankets and cuddling with Katsuki's pillow, enjoying the peaceful afternoon day.
Finally, a day off.
The day of your anniversary.
This day would have been perfect if your other half was here, you know, spending the rest of your day off together. Waking up with his arms wrapped around you, cooking breakfast with his arms still around you, even walking around with his arms around you.
However, you can't find it annoying. After months of being apart, that was the most and longest physical touch you both have experienced.
Unfortunately, the office called him for an emergency. The phone call was urgent. Katsuki furrowed his brows in annoyance and concern as he listens to his sidekick give him the information. To put the cherry on top, he only answered calmy. That's how you know it was severe; they need desperately need Dynamight in action.
Katsuki was reluctant to leave, telling you he's already been away from you for too long. His eyes screamed for forgiveness, hesitant, and something else you can't quite place.
You pushed him to get dressed, told him if he can finish the mission early, the earlier you can spend the rest of the day together. The fire in his eyes sparkled brighter than ever, accompanied by his menacing grin, accepting the challenge of beating the damned villain who ruined his day faster than they can blink.
He pulled you in for a deep kiss before heading out the door, running back for a quick kiss before finally leaving. A giddy giggle erupted from you at his actions, watching him ride away with his motorcycle.
With nothing else better to do, you decided that a quick nap wouldn't hurt anybody. You know that Katsuki will be back soon, safe and sound. He's come so far, and stopping him right now when he's so close to achieving his dream would be an insult. You have so much faith in him, one of the many reasons he loves about you.
You were ready to drift off into dreamland; had it not been for the insistent and rapid knocking suddenly coming from the front door. Groaning, you muffled your scream in your pillow, wanting to cry from annoyance and stress.
Only one person could be doing that. With their strong voice chanting your name over and over again at the same rhythm as the door knocking, your manager must have something important to tell you.
Their bright smile greeted you when you opened the door, in contrast to the annoyed and tired look you gave them. Telling you what is needed to be said, you dramatically collapsed, landing on their chest. Another commercial to shoot!
"Don't you know what today is?!" You questioned dramatically, flailing your arms around to exaggerate your point.
They smiled apologetically at you, rubbing your back for comfort. "Believe me; you're not the only one dying to sleep right now."
You pouted at them, tiredly rubbing your eyes to chase the sleepiness away.
"Don't worry (Y/N)! It will be the last one for a long time! I've made sure to give us both a break for the next couple of months to give you time to discuss something important with Katsuki!"
You tilted your head, confused at their cherry voice and excited smile despite the darkness under their eyes.
"What-?"
"Let's go! No need to change, costume and your hair and make-up team is already waiting for you, no script needed since you only have to be there, answering the question naturally. And then -"
They continued babbling about what to do the moment you got in the car and towards your destination. As you drive for almost an hour, you noticed the changes in scenery. Gone are the tall skyscrapers and bright lights of the city, now slowly replaced by luscious green grass fields, strong thick trees and clear blue sky that you rarely see nowadays.
It was satisfying, seeing the wonders of nature even in it's simplest forms. You sighed, feeling at ease compared to earlier this morning, wishing that Katsuki was here to enjoy this with you. A nice picnic here or at the park will be enough.
You noticed a large, white tent approaching your view when the car started to slow down. To your surprise, Momo and Mina were there, waving at you excitedly, with bright grins adorning their faces.
"I forgot to mention," your manager started, stopping the car. "A few of your friends will be joining you in this."
You nodded, getting out of the car, wishing you could have changed into something decent other than your sweatpants and Katsuki's shirt.
The girls were immediately shoving you eagerly towards the tent, noticing that they are already dressed and ready for the shoot.
"I'm so excited for this shoot!" Exclaimed Mina excitedly, bouncing up and down carefully as to not ruin her hair. Incoherable noises left her lips as she continued guiding you.
The dark-haired girl beside you, although much more calm and collected, couldn't stop the giggles, holding your hand firmly as they opened the flap of the tent.
A surprised smile painted on your lips when the rest of the girls in your class greeted you.
"(Y/N!)"  Ocahako ran to you, giving you a giant bear hug.
"We finally get to be together on a shoot, kero!" Tsuyu added with an excited clap.
"Hurry and get ready!" Hagakure pushed you towards the chair. You would have tripped on the way there had it not been for Jiro holding you by the shoulder.
You let it slide with a happy chuckle. It was almost impossible to get all of the girls together for anything. If they try to plan anything together, one of them will always be busy or on patrol that day.
It was nice being together once again, as in the good old days. Everyone was already ready and dressed in their complementary colours, you noticed. They chatted with you as you get your make up ready, some going out and coming back in for picture taking outside.
Again, you can't help but feel sad that Katsuki is not with you. These would have been perfect if he was beside you. No matter, you told yourself, I'll be with him after this.
"Whoa, (Y/N)," the girls cooed at you simultaneously when you got done. Looking you through the mirror with soft smiles and - were those tears welling up in some of them? To say you are confused will be an understatement. This is not the first time they've seen you glammed up.
"Are you all okay? What's the matter?"
They only smiled at you, dabbing the corners of their eyes to prevent tears from further falling.
"Whooo, enough of this," Mia sighed, fanning her eyes whilst looking up. "Get dressed honey, your dress is already there."
When you entered the dressing room, a beautiful white knee-length cocktail dress greeted you placed on the mannequin. It was off the shoulder with sheer sleeves designed in flowers and a flowy skirt. When you touched the material, you are shocked that it was silk.
Now, you are beyond confused and highly impressed. Then you wondered, what kind of commercial are you making? The company must be loaded to get all the well-known woman Pro Heroes together for this one shoot.
Your brows furrowed in thought but ended up letting it go. Slipping on your dress which hugged your figure perfectly, doing a little twirl to watch the dress flow. You are feeling yourself in this dress.
Once you exited the dressing room, you were surprised when you recognised one of your classmates in dance class there, wearing a bright costume along with the other dancers. They grabbed your hands and guided you to the centre; the music suddenly blasted from somewhere and danced around you.
You were beyond confused as you looked around. None of the girls except Momo was in the corner of the room, laughing and taking a video of you. You are so confused.
What is going on?
They prompted you to dance along with them, and you did, albeit softly; the dancers still cheered you on.
You laughed as they twirled you around towards Momo. "Come on," she pulled you out of the tent, dancers continued cheering you on from the inside.
You walked out towards the open field. The trees decorated in pastel shades of your favourite colours, the ground littered with the petals of your favourite flowers, your heart started to beat faster and faster with every step you take.
You swore you felt your heart leap out of your chest when you spotted more of your classmates came into view. A hand covered your mouth in sheer shock, happiness, and confusion.
Tables and chairs surrounded the open clearing. Red linens covered the tables along with silverwares, the surrounding trees decorated in lanterns and ribbons, a buffet filled with your favourite food on the side, a fucking swan ice sculpture beside it, chocolate fountain. But the one that caught your attention the most was the gazebo: built in the middle of a tree with beautiful white leaves at the tip of it.
You didn't know that you are now standing alone at the entrance, still frozen in shock as you looked at everyone with wide eyes.
What the fuck?
Kirishima then approached you with his usual bright smile, although this one might be brighter than the rest. He chuckled softly at your expression before offering you his hand.
"How are you feeling?"
"Like I'm about to faint and vomit at the same time," you answered shakily with a laugh. "What the heck is happening, Kirishima?"
"Well," he shrugged his shoulders, "why don't you ask the planner of this event?"
The pounding of your heart reached your ears, your face glowing bright red, as he led you towards the gazebo tree; only then did you see a single stool in the middle.
"Wait, the fuck?" You questioned a bit loudly. The rest of the crowd only laughed at your nervousness.
When you sat down, the table to your right; seated two crucial people in your life; your parents. They are smiling at you, tears running down your mother's eyes with your father's arm draped over her shoulder, both of them wearing white clothing like yours.
You mouthed a 'what are you doing here?' with a teary smile. Your father responded with a shrug of his shoulders. Your eyebrows flew when you saw the couple beside them: Mitsuki and Masaru Bakugou, both reacting the same as your parents.
The sound of a microphone caught everyone's attention. Aizawa came into your peripheral vision on the left, wearing his usual black colours. He is nicely clean today; his hair tied away from his face; it looks like he shaved as well. The most surprising of all was the small smile he wore.
What is going on?
Your mind raced at the possibility, a hand resting on your chest as if it can calm your racing heart. It was all too much to take in.
"It's been a while since we're all together," Aizawa started, gaining everyone's attention, soft background music playing in the background.
"I'm not surprised by the length's this man is willing to go; he does want to be the best at everything- which explains everything." Everyone agreed silently. "He will never do anything half-assed."
He then walked up to you with a gentle smile, "now (Y/N), do you know what is happening?"
"No, I don't even know what's happening anymore," you answered shakily. "This is like a joke: Is this a joke?" you joked, albeit shakily.
Aizawa only smiled when you continued, "I'm just waiting for the director to shout 'Cut!' I don't know what to do, am I going dance? Will I start acting? There are camera's here, but they're not giving me instructions."
"You have no idea what's going on?"
"No! I'm already getting scared," you chuckled, voice already starting to reveal that you are about to cry soon. You chose to laugh it off.
"In all honesty, I know that you know and everybody knows and agrees; that you are the most beautiful woman today." You responded with a silent thank you, deeply flattered.
"You know (Y/N), all of this happened because of one person only. Just one person," you swallowed your heart back down, tears starting to escape your eyes as your heart and mind screams of that person's name.
"So don't be surprised; because this is how much he loves you."
Tingles ran down your arms once the background music stopped and Aizawa stepped down. You held your clasped hands in front of you and placed them on your lips, tensing up a little, waiting in anticipation.
"Sir, I'm a bit nervous about being here today."
The world stopped turning when you heard that line. The tears escaped along with a happy sob. The figure of Katsuki Bakugou emerged from behind the tree at the entrance, holding a microphone to his lips. The other hand, resting deep in his pockets.
"Still not real sure what I'm going to say," he walks up to you. Not once tearing his eyes away from yours when he met them. The smile on him was nothing like anyone has ever seen before; nervous, happy, content, love.
"So bear with me, please, if I take up too much of your time."
He was nothing short of perfect. No words could ever describe how beautiful he is right now; of course, he's always beautiful, but now, he is taking your breath away.
It was already rare when you see him not wearing his baggy clothing; it's considered a blessing to see him wear a formal white tux that suits him too well.
When he neared you, he took out a red velvet box in his pocket: gripping on it tightly as he angled it towards you.
"See in this box is the ring for your oldest. She's my everything and all that I know is. It would be such relief if I knew that we were on the same side."
Everyone watched in anticipation as the blond finally reached in front of you, kneeling on one knee as he continued to serenade you.
"Can marry your daughter, and make her my wife. I want her to be the only girl that I'll love for the rest of my life. And give her the best of me 'till the day that I die, yeah."
At this point, you don't care if you look like a mess. The love of your life is looking up at you like you are the most beautiful person he has ever seen; it's probably true.
"I'm gonna marry your princess, and make her my queen. She'll be the most beautiful bride that I've ever seen. I can't wait to smile; as she walks down the aisle; on the arm of her father. Till the day that I marry your daughter."
You told him about your dream proposal; it doesn't have to be anything special as long as the song is there along with your family. And you know Katsuki, you give him an inch, he'll take it to the moon.
Katsuki stared at you with a soft smile, reaching his arms to wipe the tears off of your face. Laughing at his actions, you held on to one of his hands, placing it down on your lap. Both of you took in deep, calming breaths to ease your nerves before smiling at each other again.
"Hi (Y/N)," he called with a soft, shaky tone. A short laugh left you at his adorable nervousness. "Hi, Katsuki."
"You already know what the fuck is going on," the crowd laughed at his bluntness. "I'm not gonna beat around the bushes any longer. I want to make this official."
He opened the velvet box; a gasp left you as you saw the ring inside. A beautiful red ruby gem immediately caught your eyes as it shines in the sun.
A large smile adorned your lips as Katsuki looked at you with a tender expression. Everyone wiping away their tears at the moment before them.
"I'll save all the sappy words at the wedding vows, now, (Y/N)," when his eyes met yours again, you are sure.
"Will you do the honour of making me the happiest man alive by being my wife? Will you marry me?"
Despite the tears falling like a waterfall, your answer was clear and sealed. No matter how many different worlds there might be, how many different lifetimes are there in this universe, nor all the possible scenarios this proposal can take in, you will never get tired of saying the answer over and over again.
"Yes."
One way or another, Katsuki Bakugou and (Y/N) (L/N) will always find a way to be together. Herein is arms and the ring on your finger; all is well and where it should be.
Even though you can't give him his present now, I'm sure the box is still safe and sound on the table.
After all, you are the one carrying the most important gift.
The two strips of pink line on the stick only confirms it.
A/N: This is the longest and hardest story I have ever written for a one shot so far. Wedding?
°°°
Being in a relationship with Minho hasn't been the easiest thing, but for you, it has been the bestest decision you have ever made.
You were college sweethearts, both of you meeting at an audition for the school's official dance group. After graduating, Minho decided to join a famous dance studio as one of its choreographers while you chose to focus on your professional field.
Adulting didn't come easy, as the two of you were bombarded with busy schedules for almost every week on end. It hasn't been the easiest thing, but after some time, the both of you have learned to adjust and manage your time. You have also decided to move in together, because 1.) you wanted to spend as much of your free time with each other as possible, and 2.) let's be honest, rent is expensive af.
Despite that, it was still difficult for you to spend quality time together because of Minho's hectic and jam-packed sched. Even in weekends, he would be busy coming up with dance moves for the kpop groups assigned to him. Hence, you usually make up to this by visiting him in the studio and bringing him your homecooked meals. You would bring a portion for you as well so you could eat with him. This is something that he adored so much, it eventually became a regular routine for weekends.
That Saturday was no exception. Wearing your favorite casual clothes plus Minho's purple hoodie, you drove to the dance studio with packed lunch for the both of you. You greeted the other dancers you met in the building, and there you met Momo, another buddy in your college dance group.
"Y/nnieeee!!!" Momo said, approaching you into a tight hug. "I've missed you!"
You returned the hug and giggled. "We only met like last week though?"
"That is forever ago. You should just work with us here so I could always hang out with you," Momo complained.
"Once I get fired in my current job, I'll be sure to send you my resume."
"Should I use my connections to get you fired, then?"
You talked with Momo for a while, until she remembered that she left her students unsupervised and she was only supposed to get some water.
"Minho is in Studio E," Momo said. "He's assigned to teach a rookie girl group, my forte, while I'm assigned to a dorky and loud boy group. Where's justice in that?" She sighed deeply. "Anyway. I'll get going. Let's grab coffee some time!"
You waved and watched as Momo begrudgingly trudged towards Studio A. You laughed a bit to yourself before heading to the opposite direction.
When you peered through the door of Studio E, you noticed at least six ladies sitting on the floor, talking and fanning themselves. You knocked twice before opening the door. Few of the girls looked up and bowed awkwardly. They probably thought you were just a staff bringing Minho some food.
The man in question, however, failed to notice you. He was busy giving a one-on-one lesson to another girl, them being the only ones standing. It probably shouldn't have irked you so much, seeing that Minho is a choreographer and it is, indeed, his job to teach idols their choreography. However, being a dancer yourself and watching them there for a solid minute, you know that the girl was just goofing around and pretending not to understand the moves. She even laughed and slapped Minho's chest jokingly as if they were close friends. You couldn't see your boyfriend's reaction from where you stood, but what you witnessed was enough to dampen your mood.
You fake-coughed, causing Minho to finally notice you. His eyes lit up, and that was almost enough to rebrighten your mood. Almost, for you could still see the girl he was teaching earlier, with her eyebrows shot up like she was annoyed for the interference.
Minho jogged to where you stood and you gave him a quick peck on the lips. This took him by surprise--you weren't usually the type of person to show skinship when there are strangers around. This made Minho smile, though, thinking that you just missed him too much.
"Lunch break, everyone," Minho told the girls. He then took your hand and led you out of the room towards the staff's pantry.
When you got there, Minho excitedly opened the lunch you prepared, asking you about your day as he did so. You tried to act normal--afterall, you have no reason to be jealous, right? Plus, this is Minho you're talking about. You've known each other for years, he's not gonna dump you for an idol he just met.
Right?
"Baby?"
Your head shot up, realizing that Minho was talking to you. "Yeah?"
He chuckled. "What's wrong? Stunned by my visuals yet again?"
You rolled your eyes, used to his teasing antics. "Just tired, I guess. Eat your meal before it gets cold."
His gaze softened. He reached for your hand, squeezing it a bit. "I told you, you could take some rest during weekends. You don't have to force yourself to drive all the way here to bring me lunch. You took overtime last night, I'm sure you've been busy in the office."
You smiled at him, reaching out to squish his cheeks. "And I told you, bringing you lunch would never be tiring for me if it means that I could spend time with this lovely face."
Minho grinned. "I'm irresistible, I know."
You playfully pinched his cheek. "Just eat, you handsome creature."
You watch Minho as he ate, admiring how he looked food-deprived by the way he gobbled his meal. For the nth time in your long relationship, you wondered how you got so lucky to have someone like him. At the same time, you wondered how long you would be this lucky--wondered how long you would be able to watch him up close like this. You wondered: did you really deserve him? And what will happen if he realizes that, no, he doesn't want you after all?
"Uhh.. Min?"
"Ggnnmm?" he grumbled in a mouthful of food.
You stifled your laughter, finding the moment too cute to be destroyed by your depressing thoughts. "Have I ever told you that you look like a cat when you eat like that?"
°°°
It has been days since you visited Minho's studio. He was still teaching the girls you saw last weekend, due to the fact that "the choreo was too complicated" and a certain someone named Ahra was "finding certain parts difficult and needed to be trained personally by a professional choreographer." So of course, Minho can't say no. You visited once during the week, dropping off a change of clothes Minho forgot to bring, and you saw the girl again laughing and talking with Minho comfortably. Minho didn't seem annoyed. If anything, you felt like he was enjoying her company.
It was Friday when Minho came home and told you that he had to come with the girls to Gwangju where they would hold the music fest the following week.
"But why, though?" you asked Minho, genuinely confused. "You are a choreographer, not a manager."
"I know," Minho said. He looked tired, and part of you was feeling bad for questioning him like this. But you just can't help yourself--not after seeing that Ahra's body language towards your boyfriend. "But baby, their company pleaded for me to come with them to guide the group. They're rookies. They need as much help as they can."
A part of you understood. You wanted this relationship to be rational and matured. You promised to understand each other's line of work. So you just nodded, trying your best not to show your sadness... disappointment? Jealousy? All of the above?
°°°
Weekend came. You told Minho you were going to hangout with Momo for lunch. It was one reason, but the other main reason was that you didn't want to see Ahra flirting with your man right in front of you.
Momo chose a Japanese restaurant for your weekend hangout, saying she missed the dishes she had back home. Right after you've placed your order, your friend made a show of placing her elbows on the table with her chin on her fingers, looking straight into your eyes. "Now spill the tea."
You chuckled. "What?"
"While I know that you value our friendship more than most of everything else, I know that you won't ditch Minho for a simple lunch opportunity. Now spill."
"Uhh... maybe I'm making time with you because you're gonna be away for three days in Gwangju?"
"Oh, that music fest? I'm not coming with them though," she said, casually sipping water. "I have whipped my group into magnificent perfection, they don't need me to tag along. Plus, what would I do there? Chaperone their asses on the bus? Teach them the choreo while they're sightseeing? Please."
You sighed. Yeah, it doesn't make sense for an outsourced choreographer to tag along an idol group. They have their own trainors. And the trip was for three days to allow the idols some time for broadcasted sightseeing. They won't have time for heavy dance practices.
"But Minho is coming with the group assigned to him," you mentioned.
Momo almost choked on her mineral water. "What? Why? And why haven't I heard of this?"
Oh.
You shrugged. "Maybe my boyfriend is onto something--someone--else."
Momo's gaze softened. "Y/n..."
"I mean, the way that Ahra flirted with him? I wouldn't be surprised."
"C'mon y/nnie, do you really think Min would cheat on you? After, what, your five-year relationship?"
"When faced with a beautiful idol, why not?" Your eyes were starting to get watery. You weren't much of an emotional person, but right at that moment, you just wanted to bawl your eyes out. "I mean, Ahra is beautiful, right? You've seen her. Tall, flawless, gorgeous. And talented, too. I've searched about her group, and turns out she's the main vocal." You pointed at yourself. "And what do we have here?"
"YA! Don't you ever look down on yourself like that!" Momo said, slapping the table. "Have you forgotten that you're the main dancer of our dance group? That you were scouted by the leading agencies and you turned them all down? That if you decided not to focus on your academics, you would have been one of the leading dancers in the whole country? Y/N!"
"But--"
"I'M NOT YET DONE. And even without considering those, do you really think Minho is only looking at a person's outward appearance? Do you really think that, y/n?"
"No..." you whispered. "Momo, I understand now, please tone your voice down a little."
Momo discreetly looked around and noticed a few people staring. She sighed, composed herself, and spoke in a calmer voice, "Do you remember when Minho courted you? He was so shy, he can't even look you in the eyes without turning beet red. Literally the entire dance group had to help him express his feelings for you."
You smiled at the memory, remembering a slightly younger Minho flushing red while holding out a bunch of flowers.
"And even months prior to that. He was so dense, his hyungs in the group literally had to smack his head for him to realize that he likes you, even when the entire campus could already notice his heart-shaped eyes whenever he's with you." Momo sighed. "My point is, do you really think a guy like Minho could cheat on you?"
You reminisced about all those years you have been together. Minho is a sweet, understanding person. He sees beauty in everything around him. He sees beauty in you even when you yourself couldn't see it. He was there through the happy and ugly times, and he never once let go of your hand. He has been patient with you through everything. He is the best man you have ever met.
Momo sighed again for the umpteenth time that day. "The biggest flaw on him though is that he's way, waaaay too dense. Remember that one time before you got together, a girl was obviously making a move on him and he didn't even know until the girl walked out calling him a jerk."
You laughed at that. "He's flirty at times but he's too numb when he's on the receiving end."
The two of you laughed at that.
°°°
Later that day, Momo texted you. She checked in with the studio staff and apparently, Minho tagging along to the music fest was a special request by the higher ups of the girls' agencies, and it was a sort of rushed request. You thanked her for the information, mentally punching yourself for ever doubting Minho like that.
The following day was Minho's trip to Gwangju. You couldn't drive him to the station due to an urgent meeting, so you just gave him a hasty farewell kiss on the lips while he was preparing his breakfast. He just smiled up at you without saying a word. That small gesture made your heart clench, feeling guilty for doubting him and not spending time with him the day prior. You made a mental note to welcome him properly upon his return.
But for now, you have to survive those three incoming days alone in your apartment.
The whole day, you couldn't concentrate at work. You kept on worrying if Minho had arrived safely in his destination, if he had eaten enough, if he was warm and hydrated enough. When you asked him all these through text, he only replied with a short "don't worry too much 💝" You didn't know what to feel about it. He certainly felt that something was off, you thought. He was probably mad at me.
When you got home, a plastic of takeout on one hand and a heavy burden on your chest, you were prepared to be welcomed by the saddening darkness and silence of the night. But instead, what welcomed you was a candle-lit dining table filled with all your favorite food, complete with wine plus smooth music.
Minho stepped out from your shared room, a bouquet of roses in hand, smiling shyly while scratching his neck.
"This isn't really my thing..." he whispered.
Meanwhile you stood there, frozen in place, your jaw slack. "W-why... Min... but you're supposed to be...?"
Minho laughed. "I asked Felix to take my place. He gladly accepted." He walked closer to you, handing you the roses. "Did you really think I wouldn't notice if my one and only jealous baby has been acting weirdly?"
Your eyes widened. You dropped your gaze to the floor, embarrassed. "I'm sorry."
"Why are you sorry?" Minho stepped closer, caging you in a hug. "I'm the one who should be sorry for making you feel like that. I should never allow you to feel like you're lacking in any way. I should never give you a reason to doubt my love for you."
"But there was no reason. I was just reaching when I assumed you--"
"Sshh." Minho tightened the hug and kissed the top of your head. The two of you stayed like that for a while, swaying gently with the soft music.
"I love you, y/n. Longer than forever, I'm yours."
"I love you, too, Minho. I will love you longer than forever."
Do you guys know what could've been kind of interesting to see in SGE? More specifically, the first book? Tedros realizing he has some possible feelings for Agatha while still thinking he's in love with Sophie.
Think of it like this:
Tedros trying to be closer with Sophie, i.e. trying to talk about his life back in Camelot, any frustrations he's having in his classes or with his friends, or even just wanting to know more about HER, but Sophie only hugs his arm, rests her head on his shoulder, or simply holds his hand and tells him she loves him.
Upon seeing this, his mind and eyes drift to Agatha, who is doing something like getting some homework done early or practicing some magic. Maybe he sees Kiko and Agatha together and Kiko is complaining about accidentally dying her hair green and making it all spiky, so Agatha waves a glowimg finger and fixes it right up for her, explaining to Kiko, who wanted blonde hair, that she's beautiful with her dark hair and Tristan is an idiot if he doesn't see that; not a very "Agatha" line, but I imagine she'd be tired of seeing and hearing Kiko cry and is genuine in her words because Kiko's nice to her and a pretty decent friend.
Maybe a challenge happens where people from the opposite side partner with each other and Tedros OBVIOUSLY partners with Sophie.
Agatha, however, doesn't get a chamce to think before Hester and Anadil equally take a step forward-
AND HORT CRASHES INTO AGATHA INSTEAD-He wants to get Sophie back for using him, and Hester is not taking her away from him.
Even with a possible concussion, Agatha and Hort do well, the challenge being getting across a deep and raging river by walking across a log or something, I'm not good at making up challenges for fairytales.
Because she's in heels and doesn't want to ruin her makeup, Sophie crawls across the log rather than walks, which makes Tedros have to slow down and wait for her.
I should probably mention that this log is close to the water and is cracking beneath them, so THEY NEED TO GTFO the log.
Tedros knows this, but doesn't want to leave Sophie(both because they'll get points taking away for leaving their partner and he's still pretty sure he loves her).
Chekhov's gun fires. The log breaks and both Sophie and Tedros fall in and are swept away beneath the surface.
Agatha follows with most of the students and Yuba following.
Because she's a smart person, can swin, and doesn't care about her looks, unlike many of the other students, Agatha recruits Chaddick, because he's strong, and Anadil, with she has rats, which are CRAZY intelligent, and they find another dead tree or a vine or something to put over the river, thin enough for Sophie and Tedros to grab, but thick enough that it won't break. Anadil kicks her maguc into overdrive and grows her rats to be the size of pitbulls, and Chaddick and Agatha use them to get to Tedros and Sophie out of the river before the tree or vine snaps.
I'm sorry for making Anadil OP, but she's exhausted when her rats are back to their normal sizes, too tired to even stand up as she glares at Agatha and tells her, "That is the last time I'm helping you."
Tedros storms back to the Evers with Sophie trailing behind him, begging for him to listen as she apologizes.
Under water, she had flailed and held Tedros down as he tried to get above the surface, which almost made them both drown.
He doesn't talk to her at lunch, but does notice Chaddick awkwardly commending Agatha for her quick thinking. By awkward, I mean it's almost painful to watch him find the right words to thank this "witch" for helping to save his best friend.
Again, this is an awkward exchange and it takes a few minutes for Agath to understand Chaddick and not get offended.
Tedros thinks on this and considers all the "connection" moments he's had like the goblin challenge where he mistook Agatha for Sophie and when he picked Agatha's coffin.
Sophie notices him staring and asks if everything's alright and why he isn't paying attention to her; water on the brain.
He shrugs, smiles, and says it's nothing, which makes Sophie smile and go back to talkimg, Tedros inconspicuously watching Agatha cackle her giddy ass off when Beatrix accidentally falls in mud while trying to approach Tedros in glass slippers. Kiko laughs behind her hand, but is close to tears. Agatha does magic her clean, but Beatrix still pouts and gets a little mad, even if the squeal she did was nothing short of hilarious.
Trial By Tale happens, events and all, but Tedros doesn't instantly break up with Sophie. He keeps his distance instead.
One night, after he's won and hasn't spoken a word to Sophie or sat near her at lunch, eating in his room instead to avoid her and because he's still a little injured, he is awake and can't sleep, so he wanders the quiet school halls, watching snow fall and reminiscing about home and how his school year's been, maybe even having a made up conversation with his father about what's happened.
HOW COINCIDENTAL THAT AGATHA IS ALSO OUT OF HER ROOM AND LEANING AGAINST A LEDGE TO ALSO WATCH THE SNOW.
This is the conversation between them that follows:
(Agatha turns to look at him with annoyed eyes)"... Here to call me a witch again?"
"Well, as long as you don't punch me again, I won't."
(Narrows her eyes a little mire before turning back to the snow.) "Why are you out here?"
(Tedros leans against the wall facing her and tips his head back, watching the snow.) "Can't sleep. Hester's demon got me better than I thought." (Chuckle) "I still have a bruise on my side from the thing."
(Agatha gulps as she remembers how it broke into pieces and attacked him, but says nothing.)
"How about you? Does the witch have you doing her work for her again?"
(Agatha gasps, surprised by the jab to her friend and at how he figured it out. Tedros's face is mostly expressionless, though he does raise an eyebrow as if to say, 'Go 'head. Prove me wrong.' She relaxes again and shakes her head.) "My room doesn't have a good view of the trees. I bet it's snowing in Gavaldon, too. Harder than it is here, maybe."
"Gavaldon?"
"My village. Where Sophie and I came from. Our home."
(Tedros laughs) "I'm sorry, how long have you two been friends for?"
"Long enough. What about you? What brings the prince of Camelot out to watch the first snow of winter?"
(Tedros's smile drops as he returns his gaze to outside.) "Like I said. I couldn't sleep."
"Why are you REALLY out here?"
(Tedros is silent for a few seconds, biting his lip because he's obviously uncomfortable.) "... Your village. Gavaldon. Do you... miss it?"
(After another second of silence, Agatha responds.) "A little bit. We were better friends there, at least. And I miss my cat."
(Tedros humms quietly as he gives a slight nod, biting back a 'witch' comment.)
"I guess you're used to the attention. Being the prince and all."
(Tedros shrugs and scratches the back of his neck.) "Sort of. Not really. No one ever followed me around like Beatrix. Could you see a maid being on my tail like SHE does?"
(Agatha can't help but laugh, Tedros chucklong with her before his smile drops.)
"I don't know. I mean..." (He leans on the ledge.) "I like being with my mates and all, but... it gets annoying when there's always a couple of girls giggling at you behind the corner. I miss my room, too. And the library. And the court yard. And the garden. And the field."
(His voice breaks at that last one, but Agatha doesn't bring it up. Instead, it's her turn to talk about home.)
"I miss my mom. We didn't really get along, but she's my family, Reaper, too."
"You named your cat Reaper?"
"He took care of our rat and bird problem. You'd be surprised at how many blue jays come to a cemetery." (Agatha's smile drops.) "I miss that, too, the cemetery. It was quiet. And just reading fairytales in my room instead of studying to BE in one."
(Tedros nods at that, no joke or quip.) "It's all fun until you learn how dangerous it all really is." (He is silent for a second, gulping and running his hand through his hair.) "Thanks, by the way."
(Agatha turns to him, playing coy because she's not used to the Evers ACTUALLY being nice to her, save for Kiko.) "For what?"
"The Trial. Saving me. I don't think I'd be here, if you didn't."
(Agatha blushes and looks at her hands.) "No... No problem. I mean... Well... I guess that..."
(Tedros smiles and slips some hair behind her ear and kisses her hand.) "'You're welcome, Tedros. I hope you can repay me, somehow, Tedros.'"
(Agatha almost tells him to forgive Sophie, but instead says something else.) "Can you talk to Sophie? She's sorry about what happened and she really does love you."
(Tedros frowns.) "Love isn't pulling someone down with you when you're under water. And neither is leaving your teammate to fight alone."
"You said you wanted to repay me, this is how. Do you really want to be indebted to a witch?"
(Tedros reluctantly nods.) "Fine. I'll talk to her."
"Thank you."
(Agatha turns and walks back to her room, but Tedros only watches her leave, speaking when she's out of ear shot.) "I don't think you're a witch."
I feel like I could add more, but this will be enough for now.
I hope you guys enjoyed, sorry if this came off as fanfiction-y or any of the characters were a little OP, magic or otherwise. And like I said in my progress post, this is just what I would have done to have Tedros and Agatha fall in love, or start falling in love
Either way, I hope you enjoyed this
Eren doesn’t know: Chapter 2 (Jean x Reader x Eren)
Dating Eren is hard, especially when he’s in a band that’s constantly away. While your boyfriend is gone, your friend Jean decides to help out with your loneliness. Problem is, neither of you can stop.
Warnings: Cheating (lots of it), smut (also lots of that, like, a lot), angst, one-sided love, language
Written by me an my bestfriend @msack3rman 😌 We thought of this late night on a drive and it stuck
1.4k word count
Chapter 1, ((Chapter 2)), Chapter 3, Chapter 4
"Baby, what if we went and got dressed and went out to lunch, then walked around the park?" You turned to him watching as his normally dumb grin appeared on his face. "You're still asking me on dates, after 3 years?" You smiled softly and giggled.
"Of course I am, you're just too hot not to." His face tinted in the slightest shade of pink and you felt your heart flutter. It almost felt like the first time you went on a date with Eren. Nostalgia had you feeling like mush and you couldn't help yourself as you leaned over and kissed him.
Eren kissed back with the same gentleness you were using. He felt loved and cared for and he had already forgotten. Just like he wanted to. Moments like these make him feel like the flame between the both of you was still ablaze. "C'mon sunshine boy, let's go."
Eren's heart was beating so fast in his chest he could feel it in his ears. You two raced to the door of the house, stumbling inside and laughing at one another. You weren't always competitive. But Eren brings out that side of you. He brings out all the best in you and you love him dearly for it. Your chest ached terribly as you remembered you wouldn't be able to change around Eren or shower with him tonight.
Eren had chased you to your shared bedroom pinning you under him. You felt giddy as he kissed along your neck and marked the skin there. Thank god Jean didn't bite you there. You felt your heart start to race when he pushed his hands under your shirt and dragged his nails across your sides. In a panic you gave an excuse to him, "I'm on my period, we can't do anything." There was a pout on your face and Eren pulled back with a matching expression.
Then he smiled and shrugged it off. "That's fine, I can spend my time with you without needing to have sex." Eren was celebrating inside, he wanted so desperately to text Mikasa and say, "I told you so." Eren knew you hated having sex on your period and your periods last for a while.
"You can shower first then, I'll decide where to go for food." He sat up sitting between your legs on the bed as he scrolled through his phone. You rolled over and dropped off of the bed, getting a nice outfit for the outdoors before going to the bathroom.
Eren shut the car off after parking and the two of you got out, making your way to the trail that went around the park. It had taken much longer to get out of the house to eat because Eren's manager had called him. The man kept your boyfriend on the phone for over 20 minutes. You grew annoyed quickly. Even in his down time, when it was supposed to be you and Eren it ended up being you Eren and anyone else who wanted to join.
He quickly made it up to you, even though he shouldn't have had to in the first place. His manager called him, he didn't call his manager. You shouldn't have gotten so upset because it wasn't his fault. But you couldn't help it. On the bright side, you're now walking with him at sunset. Eren's eyes shined so brightly in pure sunlight.
His skin was radiant and god he's just so handsome. He's so breathtaking, but you forget so easily when you're apart for so long. The low quality video calls honestly make you feel worse but hearing his voice as you fall asleep makes up for it. Eren's hand waved back and forth in front of your face, "You've been staring at me for a whole minute, are you gonna blink yet?"
You chuckled and grabbed his hand holding it as you walked with him. "I just love you a lot Eren. Don't bully me for appreciating you." He smiled and squeezed your hand as you looked away blushing. He didn't mean to fluster you, but he doesn't feel bad, your reddened face looked gorgeous under the last few rays of sunshine in the sky.
You had already walked around the entire park 2 times, talking about everything and nothing. Your phone went off for the 20th time since your date started and you were starting to get really annoyed. Another intruder on your quality time with Eren. You pulled your phone out and quickly glanced at the notifications, as soon as you noticed Jean's name you frowned and shut your phone off.
Eren glanced at you and let out a sigh. "Angel?" You pocketed your phone again and turned to give him your full attention. "Would you make me choose between us and my band?" Your frown deepened.
Today, you can't give him the answer you usually do. You knew you'd be as patient as you could, but you couldn't handle this question tonight. "Eren, I don't want to answer that.. I feel like I have to choose between my happiness and yours."
"I love you, but I also love my family. You both mean the world to me, I'd feel lost without both of you." You squeezed his hand and took a deep breath. "I feel lost every time I wake up and you've left to go on tour without saying goodbye or when Armin will answer your phone and let me know that you've exhausted yourself until 5 in the morning every day for the past week while you're out cold."
You weren't angry, you were sad and you were tired. "I'm sorry. I don't want you to think of it like that." Eren's voice was soft and sweet. His heart felt like it had stopped and in his mind that flame between you two was starting to dim again. He tugged on your intertwined hands and it brought you to his side. You leaned against one another as you made your way back to the car.
This date was your idea and the whole point was to cheer Eren up and finally spend time with him. Now you just feel like crying because the majority of the date was focused around other people and it hurt that you had to choose what to sacrifice so Eren didn't sacrifice anything.
Moments like these make you remember why Jean is in your life the way he is now. You were doing something for you and you were being selfish. However, being selfish still feels shitty and suddenly you feel sick on the car ride back home.
After getting home, you left Eren’s side to go to the bathroom, pulling out your phone to look at the now 20 notifications from Jean. You rolled your eyes, he really couldn’t take a hint sometimes.
Hey
Are you up?
Do you wanna do smth today?
If you want we can go to lunch
I’ll pay
Ok ig not
Sorry for bothering you
Are you ignoring me?
Did I do smth? If so i’m sorry
Pls talk to me if smth is wrong
As you read through his messages, guilt began to build up in your throat. I mean, how hard could it have been to send a simple “Sorry, I’m busy” You knew you shouldn’t feel like this. You really did nothing wrong. All you wanted to do was spend some time with your boyfriend, who you rarely even saw anymore, and you could hardly do that today with all of the interruptions. You just wanted to be alone. No distractions, no interruptions. For just a moment to be rid of all guilt and shame. But, the knocking on the door brought you back, making you realize that it wasn’t possible.
“Yeah?” You call out through the door, not wanting to face Eren just yet. You could hear a sigh from the other side.
“I’m sorry for asking that earlier,” he sounded sincere and a little hurt, “I just love you and my band so much and I don’t want to ever have to choose between you two.” His voice was soft and you could feel a lump begin to form in your throat. “I know I’m gone a lot and I’m so sorry for that. I love you and don’t ever wanna lose you to something like this. Please just come out and talk to me.”
Letting out a shaky breath, you slowly open the door and when you see Eren and how upset he looks, you couldn’t stop the tears from falling. You wrap your arms around his middle, burying your face in his chest as you cried into his shirt. A hand came up to rest against the back of your head while the other ran across your back in soothing circles. “Shhh, it’s okay Angel, I’m here.” His voice was barely above a whisper and he rested his chin on top of your head. “I’ll always be here.”
I've been thinking vv soft thoughts about Bird Boi because of how sad he's made me. Like, it'd be nice if he had something special he tucks away just for him.
He's not going to date. Not with the public, the league, & the commission breathing down his neck. Flings are fine. He likes it fast. Delusional. Tweetie feels all the things so the need for something real is THERE.
Then one day he tries this new restaurant for a late lunch & cracks the worst joke to the girl taking his order. Just horrendously corny even for him. He actually cringes internally at his inability to just keep his mouth shut. & she giggles, & oh she giggles. Cheeks dimple. Eyes crinkle & shine. & the boi is GONE.
Oh she's making sure to get his order in before her lunch break? You know he feels kind of lame sitting by himself, you should sit with him! Talk about him? Nah that guys a loser, let's talk about someone more interesting, like you!
It's just an hour with an interesting stranger talking about anything besides work. He chases giggles instead of villains. Throws shitty puns instead of shining feathers. It's immediately obvious to him that you've never once edited yourself so he feels no need to. It's just easy & sweet & over entirely too soon but neither of you have time to complain.
You're taking your apron off the table. He's taking off into the skies. Isn't it a little brighter out? His shoulders aren't as sore as they usually are by now. Must've been the overstuffed booth. The rest of the day calls & snatches you from each other's minds.
However, next Tuesday at two he finds himself in front of a familiar door. Without hesitation he steps through & searching eyes find a waiting smile.
Back again? Well he couldn't keep himself away! From the food, obviously. Your break? Again? How lucky! That means he doesn't have to eat alone right? The same booth is open even...
There's a certain satisfaction in deja vu. In having a "usual". In finding a handbag saving his seat on busy days. In having inside jokes, second helpings, & see you laters, never goodbyes. A certain satisfaction in sweet & easy.
Easy cuts it close a few times. Too comfortable means too much sometimes. He wasn't supposed to say that? Checking his phone is the politest way not to notice small hands curling in on themselves halfway across the table. White knuckled with the desire to comfort. Did she really mean that? Leaning down to eat her food is the nicest way give earnest eyes time to tear themselves off her lips. Sweet & easy is just too rare these days to give up willingly.
He's asked about it of course. Reoccurring charges are always asked about. Nosy motherfuckers. "I swear it's the best in town! Go stop by and order one, no, order six!!!" Eyes are rolled, the word glutton is muttered, & Hawks' new favorite spot is brushed right on by as usual.
If only they bothered to stop by. A single glance at the man staring when his companion is distracted would tell an entire story. But they never do. And every Tuesday at two, the same eyes, the same smile, the same booth.
Sweet & easy.
#sorry it's so long I just plunked an entire daydream in your inbox #no regerts
aaaa this was so warm and sweet it made my chwest feel nice and happy !!!
can we just talk about the idea of hawks slowly falling in love with the girl he met at his new favourite spot in town?? like he always has to do things so fast, that’s what he’s known for but now he he has a quiet place to go to every week— it’s comfortable, routinely and he doesn’t have to put up the same facade he does with everyone else.
him slowly opening up to you while you share the new combo he’d been dying to try on the menu and you’d somehow managed to bag the last one on the menu for keigo ( even after the lunch rush ); you laugh at something he says; another terrible joke just as bad as the one he told you the day you first met !! the way your smile shines and eyes sparkle makes him blurt our a compliment that has you both feeling bashful 🥺 so he promises next week he’ll bring his a game
shy flirting turns to hands being held under the table, feeding each other meals over your lunch break and suddenly keigo is waiting for you when you finish your shifts in the evenings— walking you home because “you don’t know what kinds of people are lurking around in the dark!” and finally; you land on your doorstep, thanking hawks for the lovely late night stroll !! you turn to enter your home but in a last minute decision you press a sweet kiss to his cheek that have his feathers ruffling and a pink hue shearing his face when you pull away.
“goodnight, hawks.”
“until tomorrow, yn.”
The Lovestruck~Chapter 19
Tumblr media
Shock word was an understandment as what you were feeling right now. You were in the car with Ria going back home, you couldn't even say anything to him as you were too shocked and before you could, Ria dragged you to the car saying mom has been calling.
Were you dreaming? Did you heard it right? He likes you? All of this came as a surprise to you and the whole ride you were occupied by those thoughts.
Arriving at home, you straight went to your room and your parents were confused by your behavior before looking at Ria questionly but she just shrugged and followed you.
"Y/n." She called out entering your room to see you sitting on the bed lost in thoughts before aproaching you and sat in front of you.
"Y/n? What's wrong? You have been quiet since we have come back. Did something happen?" She placed her hand on top of yours and you looked at her blankly.
"Baekhyun." You uttered licking your lips. "Baekhyun... confessed to me."
She stared at you blankly and then. "AAAHHHHHHHHH"
You closed your ears and eyes before shutting her up by covering her mouth then your door burst opened revealing Daniel.
"What-what happened? Why did you scream?" He asked panicked and you glared at Ria.
"Nothing, she has gone crazy."
"I thought something big happened." He scoffed walking away.
"Is it true? When? How? Wait- at the beach? I told you, he likes you!" She began her rambling as you told her everything.
"OMG! This is such a great news! So what did you say?"
You looked at her in innocently. "Nothing."
Her jaw dropped. "Nothing? Are you serious? The Byun Baekhyun confessed to you and you said nothing?"
You groaned leaning your against the headboard. "I.. I couldn't say anything. I was too shocked, okay. And it was so unexpected."
"So? How do feel about him?"
"I..don't know. I mean yes, he's a good guy and I feel comfortable and happy around him." You paused sighing while clutching the teddy close to you. "But lately I'm really nervous around him where my heart is like going to burst and it's so confusing.
Ria stared at you with a understanding look before she slapped her forehead lightly. "Silly! There's your answer. You don't feel like this for anyone but for someone you love and it's okay. There's no hurry so, take your time to be sure about your feelings."
Upon hearing her words, you gave this a thought and realized she is right. Your heart beat quicken at the thought of him and cheeks heat up.
"Oh My God! Y/n! You're blushing." She laughed loudly and you hid your cheeks feeling embarrassed.
"Shut up!"
"I'm so happy for you!" She jumped on you making your body fall back with a groan.
"You're heavy!"
Later that night, you couldn't sleep well as the scene at the beach kept playing in your mind making you nervous, scared and happy as well. You have never been in a relationship, always kept yourself distant with these things yet you were here feeling all of this.
Being in a relationship scared you a little. You don't know, if you were ready for it and several things were in your mind with all of these questions and you just needed a bit of time.
Meanwhile, Baekhyun who kept cursing himself for not holding himself back for keeping his mouth shut. He wasn't planning on confessing like this but you just stood there and he couldn't help but blurt out everything and now was thinking if he scared you or would you feel awkward around him because that was the last thing he wanted.
***
(9 January)
You woke up with a slight nervousness at how would you face him after yesterday. Luck was probably on your side when you didn't got a glimpse of Baekhyun at the college as you had lunch with the boys and they told that he was busy somewhere and that somehow made you relieved but lowkey you wanted to see him.
Then a thought hit you that you have to go to Café too and you would definitely see him there.
Later, in the library, Ria was looking for some books assigned to her from her professor before she came across with Baekhyun who was picking a book.
"Oh, Baekhyun sunbae."
Baekhyun flinched by the voice before he saw Ria giving him a smile which he reciprocated before his eyes were going here and there in search of someone.
Ria chuckled. "She's not here, must be hiding somewhere."
Baekhyun looked at her startled as he let out an awkward chuckle before he looked at her surprised. "You know?"
She nodded. "We bestfriends have no secrets so while we're talking about it, can I ask you something?"
Baekhyun gave her a nod as she sighed. "Are you sincere about Y/n? I can see you are but I still want to hear it from you."
Baekhyun smiled at her concern for you and he nodded. "I have never been this sincere before and I assure you that."
She nodded smiling. "Then, let me tell you this too. Y/n and I have been bestfriends since high school and I know Y/n more than she knows herself. She's never been into these situations before so it's something new to her and maybe little confusing too. So, I hope you can be a little patient until she's sort it out, plus I'm already on your side. "
Hearing upon her words, Baekhyun was sure that you were lucky to have a friend like Ria before he nodded. "Thanks and i'll keep that in mind. "
With that he walked away before Ria sighed clasping her hands together up in the air. "God, let my ship sail."
"Gosh, Y/n, You're really lucky to have me in your life." Ria flipped her hair before she turned around and got startled to see the librarian judging her with her poker face.
Giving her an awkward smile, Ria rushed out of the library hoping not run into the librarian today.
***
At the Café.
Just as Baekhyun predicted, you were avoiding eye contact with him and the awkward atmosphere was eating him up. However, he couldn't blame you because it would be a normal reaction for someone who got confessed but he didn't wanted that and he's surely gonna make it right.
Your shift was over and you were relieved wanting to get out of the awkwardness as soon as possible but things just doesn't go according to you.
"Y/n." You slightly flinched and there was your heart acting up again beating with an abnormal speed.
"You are avoiding me, aren't you?" He questioned and you mentally face palmed for being obvious as you let out a nervous chuckle while looking everywhere but him. "Me? No, not at all."
"You know you can't lie, so why do you even try it?"
You bit your lip before looking at him and instantly looked away finding hard to look at him.
"Can we talk?"
"Right now?"
"Yes." He said firmly and you hesitantly nodded.
He licked his lips before speaking. "I know what happened yesterday was unexpected for you and trust me it was same for me. I never wanted to confess like that but it just happened and now I'm not going to run away."
"I don't want to pressure you in any way and I'm alright with you taking how much ever time you want. I'm always willing to wait for you but I just don't us to be awkward like this because this is something I never wanted."
As if he just read your mind that whatever you want to say but couldn't, he said it all and you couldn't be more grateful for it. A smile appeared on your face and you nodded slowly making him smile in relief.
"You're not going to avoid me again, right?"
You chuckled awkwardly. "No, I won't."
"If you did, I'll tell everyone about your that secret." He smiled smugly raising his one eyebrow and your jaw dropped. "Are you threatening me?"
"Is it working?"
"No!"
"It did."
"No, it didn't."
"Then should I-"
"No!"
He laughed hardly and you glared at him playfully and that's how Baekhyun changed the awkward atmosphere into comfortable one. Well, he's Baekhyun for a reason though.
***
(10 January)
Next day, things weren't as awkward but tension was somewhere there. As if something has struck your mind, you began to see Baekhyun in a different light, as you found yourself staring at him again and again.
You weren't the only one, whenever you glanced at him, you caught him staring at you but instead of looking away, he just gave a smile leaving you flustered.
You calmed your beating heart and took the order from the customer and Baekhyun started to make drink. He was about to take it in his hand but his hand got bumped into the counter causing the hot drink spill on his hand.
He hissed which got your attention and your eyes widened seeing him clenching his hand.
"Are you okay?" You grabbed his hand and panicked seeing the redness on the back of his hand.
"Y/n, I'm fine." He assured you but you saw his expression saying opposite.
"Rose-"
"It's okay, I'll take care of it."
"Come here." You led him in the kitchen before walking to the sink and helped him wash his hand.
"Y/n, I'm really okay."
"What do you mean? Look at the redness. I know it must be stinging." You took the ice cube from the fridge and gently rubbed it while blowing on it.
He sighed leaning against the sink as he stared at your face which was filled with concern immediately bringing a smile on his face.
"I thought I was the big clumsy but no, you are one step ahead of me." You nagged like a mother and he chuckled while seeing your this side made his pain less.
"You worry about me, don't you?"
"Of course, I do. What kind of question is that?" You raised your head to see him smiling at you and then you realized.
"Why?"
"Huh?"
"Why are you worried about me?" He leaned forward making your breath hitched at the closeness.
"Y/n, Baekhyun!"
You both backed away hearing Rose's voice and Baekhyun lowly groaned as he got interrupted in the moment before Rose walked inside.
"How's your hand?"
"It's better now, since Y/n has treated it." He smiled at you but you didn't looked at feeling too nervous by his gaze.
Rose came to tell that she has to go home a little early for some reason and asked you both to take care of the Café behind. You both agreed and soon she was off to her home while you both continued your work not before you asked Baekhyun to take orders only and seeing your stern expression, he agreed instantly.
It was dawn already, means the working hours were over and you both got out but then you spotted a person you never expected to see here.
Liam was walking towards you and you frowned in confusion and when he approached you, he smiled which was forced before he looked at Baekhyun and they both stared at each other with unreadable expression like last time.
You asked him the reason of his presence here where he told you that Daniel was out with his friends so he came to get you. Honestly, you found it uncomfortable, especially when Baekhyun was standing here and you didn't wanted any misunderstanding between you two.
Baekhyun felt jealous seeing another guy to take you home and for some reason he really didn't took a liking to Liam. Sighing, he was about to lock the door but then it hit him that he forgot the keys inside.
You chuckled at his forgetfulness as he shot you a sheepish grin before going inside to get keys. Liam rolled his eyes getting impatient as he just wanted to leave from here. Apparently, he was forced to come here as his mom pressured him go.
"Y/n, can we just go? He can do it himself you know." Liam said and you looked at him a little bit furiously.
"No, we both work here. And I don't find it appropriate to leave him like that." You replied, annoyed by his attitude.
"Let's just leave, everyone is waiting." His impatience got over him and he grabbed your wrist startling you.
"Liam, what the heck are-"
"Let go of her hand." Baekhyun jumped in suddenly gripping on his wrist and Liam scoffed letting go before facing him.
"And who do you think you are?"
"Doesn't matter. But you should know how to respect a girl and she is your freaking cousin!" His jaw clenched with his eyes glaring down at him and and you stared at him shook seeing him angry like this.
"Right, she's my cousin. So stay out of this!"
"Or what?"
"You-"
"Stop!" You instantly came forward between them as you shielded Baekhyun and narrowed your eyes at the person before you. "Liam, go back home now."
He looked at you in disbelief before his eyes soften as he realized his actions and sighed, looking down too embarrassed to even look at you and taking backwards steps, he turned around and left.
You closed your eyes and sighed before turning around to found nothing as you spotted him inside sitting on a chair. You gulped, walking inside to see him looking down with his hands clasped together as he was calming himself.
"Are you really angry?" You asked, cautiously standing infront of him before sighing. "I don't know what came to him to act like this-"
"Why did you stop us? I was so close to punch him." He cut you off, as he looked up at you frowning as he wasn't angry for his behavior with him but he didn't liked how he misbehaved with you.
You looked at him incredulously. "And then what? A fight would have broke out! And I don't want to see the person I love getting hurt!"
Baekhyun's ear perked up as he gulped looking at you. "Who...do you love?"
"You of course, Who else?! And what's wrong with Liam? I should have a talk with him-" You kept rambling unaware of your words and Baekhyun's eyes lit up as his heart burst out with happiness. "You love me? Did you just say you love me?"
You stopped and looked down at him to see him smiling before realizing your words and your eyes went big. Gasping, you attempted to walk away but he caught your wrist and pulled you back causing your hands to rest on his shoulders as you stood between his legs.
"Where are you going after confessing your love?"
Your cheeks heat up and you chuckled nervously. "When did I?"
"Just now."
"I didn't."
"You did."
"I-"
"Stop running away and be my girlfriend already, hm?" He tilted his head staring at you cutely and you stared at him for a moment before a shy smile appeared on your lips as you nodded slowly.
Sure, you were a little bit scared about being in a relationship but it all vanished when you saw his face and you were sure that you don't have to feel like this when you're with him.
"Really?" His eyes widened before smiling widely and you squealed as he lifted you up suddenly with your hands clutching his shoulders tightly.
You looked down at him in surprise and he chuckled looking at you fondly while smiling. "What should I do? I'm so happy."
You bit your lip smiling before you glanced outside to see people giving you both weird look.
"Baekhyun, put me down." You said feeling embarrassed now and he gently put you down. You hid your face in your palms and heard his giggle before feeling his arms wrapped around you as he placed his head on yours.
Soon, you both closed the Café and he was walking you home. While walking, he stopped to take your bag in his hands even though you stopped him. Both of you were silent, just smiling and glancing at eachother.
Not long before, you heard his chuckle making you look at him confused. "Why are you laughing?"
"It's just I suddenly thought of how you came like a shield even though you are one foot shorter than me." He teased and you looked at him offended.
"Oh, so this is what I get for protecting you." You said sarcastically while faking an hurt expression and he just laughed poking your cheek.
You reached your home and took you bag from his hand before smiling at eachother.
"Will you be okay?" He asked indicating the scene happened a while ago and you nodded assuring him.
He nodded as he knew you can handle the situation on your own. "Okay, then tell me if anything happens."
You nodded. "Be safe and text me when you get home."
He nodded before leaning in to press his lips on your forehead sending chills down your spine and making you close your eyes in the reflex before he pulled away smiling and left.
You bit your lip smiling shyly as your hand went to your forehead before walking inside to see your parents and Aunt Jane with Liam in the living room. You made your way to them and greeted her.
"It's good that everyone is here, I have to tell you something but before that," You looked at Liam who avoided your eyes. "Liam, I know you're my cousin but what you did there was really not good and you have to apologize for it."
"What's happening?" Your dad asked confusingly looking back and forth to you and Liam before he sighed letting you continue.
"And Aunt Jane," You looked at her who was close to burst. "I know, you are trying to make me and Liam together but I'm sorry it's never gonna happen. Because for me, Liam is more like a brother and I have no interest in him and from what I see he feels like that too, so kindly stop forcing things on us. I just wanted to clear this, so there won't be any problems later."
As you expected, Aunt Jane stood up with a glare in her eyes."Oppa, look at how your daughter is disrespecting me. "
You frowned before opening you mouth but your dad spoke."She's just clarifying and I don't see any disrespectful in that."
Disbelief expression plastered on Aunt Jane and she couldn't even speak further so she stormed out of your house dragged Liam with him and you could sense the guilt in his eyes.
"I'm sorry dad, because of me Aunt Jane's gonna be angry at you."
"Don't be sorry, in fact I'm so happy to see my daughter is growing up to be a great girl and knows how to stood up for herself, I'm so proud of you." He smiled patting your head and you hugged as you felt so lucky to have parents like them.
Your mom coughed and your dad groaned as the moment got ruined while you laughed. She asked you to get freshen up as she has ordered pizza and you instantly ran up to your room.
You felt so light as if everything was going on the right track and you checked your phone to see Baekhyun's text which instantly made you smile.
Baekhyun : I'm home. How did it go? Did you sorted it out?"
You: of course! Who am I?
You sent it with a smug emoticon and got a reply.
Baekhyun: I know, my girlfriend.
He sent it with a wink emoticon and you felt yourself blushing at the message before another text popped up.
Baekhyun: You're blushing.
You looked at here and there before slapping your forehead as why would he be here but how can you be so obvious even when he can't see you.
You: I'm not. I'm going to have dinner now bye!
Your cheeks were hurting now because of your constant smile and were on fire because of blushing too much. Getting a boyfriend seemed too surreal and thinking about it, you already felt shy but happy and couldn't wait for the next day to see him.
Summary: Your life gets turned upside down when the King demands one male of every household to enlist and defend the nation from invading forces. Who seems to always be there for you, when you need him the most
Tagging: @shesdreaminginoverdose
Masterlist | Prologue (The Spy) | Prologue (The Soldier)
The sun shines down on your back as you walk along the dirt road. You were currently surrounded by all the men heading off together to the capitol in order to enlist so that they could fulfill the decree’s demand. The original group that you had left with was much smaller than the current group you were walking with. As the group had traveled, more and more men of all ages joined the party, making it grow in size. This led to you hanging out in the back, more often than not. You were trying to avoid as many people as possible to lessen the chance of someone figuring out your secret. You figured the less people you talked to the lower your chances were for any of them asking questions and figuring out your gender. This was why you often hung out at the back of the party, especially as it grew in size, to avoid conversations. Unfortunately, Helios seemed to want you to stay by his side for the entire trip and subsequent enlistment.
While you appreciated his desire to keep you safe, it was also a pain how overbearing he was being. You had known Helios your entire life, so you understood him when he kept insisting you stay by him. Helios saw himself as your protector on this journey. Afterall, you had that type of unofficial engagement that came from living in a small town, the type that wasn’t real but most boys or men believed it was. Thus, you knew that he wasn’t so much worried about another man discovering your secret and what it could do to you and your family, but rather if another man would try and make a move on you. This was why you had not even gone two miles into the journey before doing everything in your power to separate yourself from him. If he was overbearing the whole trip, someone would get suspicious and ask questions. That was something you didn’t want to happen, or rather, that you couldn't let happen.
Moving your hand, you shade your eyes so you can look at the sun. You were rather grateful for your short hair at this moment, it was much cooler than your long hair had been on a sunny day.  It was almost midday from what you could see, which meant that you would need to find a place off the road to eat midday meal.
At that very moment a call went out, “Time to stop for a midday meal.” A great cry went up from all the men at the news. The crowd moved towards the large covered wagon that held the food for the collective. You knew better than to head to the front like everyone else. Slipping between the people, you made your way towards the back of the covered wagon. The back of the covered wagon had a window that all the other men seem to forget about. They always headed to the front window, because that was the main place that food was served. However, you had learned early on that if you went to the back window, you could be given food before the majority of the others. Arriving at the back window, you gave it a knock to let the person inside know you were there. The window opened to reveal a rather small man. A cheeky smile came to his eyes once he saw who had knocked.
"Ah, Lyn. Hold on I have your meal coming right up." The small man left the window for just a few moments before coming back with a bowl of grits and an apple in hand. "Fresh and ready to go my lad." He said, taking too much joy from you cheating the system. You smile at him, he was trouble but at least he was fun.
"Thanks Kibum," you say, making your voice a little lower than your normal tone. "Tell Minho he better not have poisoned me." As you walk away you could hear Kibum's laugh roaring behind you. As quickly and quietly as you had gotten to the wagon, you left in the same manner. The next step for you was to find a place to eat away from everyone else. Fortunately, you spotted a lone tree not too far from the path. It was the perfect spot, it had shade and was away from where everyone else was gathering to eat. You walk over to it and find a perfect spot to sit under the tree that provides the most shade. You had barely sat down and leaned up against the tree, when the peace is interrupted by someone calling out for you.
“Y/N!” Helios yells. Panic fills you as he calls you by your real name. You jump up quickly from your spot under the tree and look around it to find Helios searching for you.
“Helios!” you call out, “What the hell are you doing?” Hearing his name, Helios makes eye contact with you and a look of relief comes to his face. He walks over to your spot under the tree. The light shining bright on him, making his golden hair glow.
"There you are, I was wondering where you ran off to. I just got you a spot to sit in the group for the meal but you had already vanished." You could feel frustration building up within you.
"I've already told you, Helios, I don't want to sit with those guys cause they bring too much attention to themselves. I'm trying to keep a low profile." Which you seem to not understand you think to yourself, "And I told you, don't call me Y/N. I am Lyn from now on and no matter when or where we are, you need to call me that." Helios lets out a breath of frustration. It seems you aren't the only frustrated person.
"And do I have to tell you again to stay close to me. I need to make sure you're safe. I promised both my sister and parents to look after you." He says.
"I know, and I am grateful for your help, but you're not doing a good job of keeping a low-profile. That's what I need right now, not a personal guardian. I'm not a child, Helios, I can take care of myself pretty well on my own." A short laugh leaves Helios.
"Barely, you aren't nearly as old as me or even half the men here. Just imagine what will happen to you if you're alone with any of them, or worse one of the enemy."
"I'll punch them in the face," you respond, "I've got a good hook." Helios doesn't seem to like that answer. His frustration becoming more clear as he crosses his arms.
"This isn't a joke." He says through gritted teeth.
"I don't think it is. You just don't trust me to be alone with anyone other than you, and I don't trust you to keep a low-profile. So I did both of us a favor and just separated myself from everyone. It's the best of both world" You sigh. Calming yourself down a little, you try talking to Helios again without yelling at him. "Look, I know you're trying to take care of me and keep your promise; but I'll be fine, I promise." A large sigh escapes Helios, he looks back over at the large group.
"I know you'll be fine. Doesn't mean I like it."
"I know," you say, "can you just trust me to be alone, maybe stop being so overbearing? Just for today at least?" You reach out and place your hand on Helios' arm. It seems to calm him down a tiny bit.
"Fine, you can eat your lunch alone today. But," he turns back to look at you, "can you promise to sleep next to me for the rest of the trip? It's the one thing I ask."
"Sure," you promise, "I have no problem with that. As long as you let me sleep." A small chuckle leaves both of you. A small peace comes between you two, if just for now. Helios unfolds his arms and pulls you into a hug.
"Just be careful" he says against your head. You nod to reassure him. Helios let you go rather reluctantly, giving you a small smile as he leaves. "See you around, Lyn." He says, putting great emphasis on the word.
As you watch Helios walk away, you can feel your frustration slowly starting to fade away with him. This journey was not going to be easy with Helios acting this way. However, you don’t have long to relax before you hear a noise. It was the awkward clearing of someone’s throat. Panic quickly overtakes you and you freeze upon hearing the noise.
“Well, that definitely wasn’t a conversation I was supposed to hear.” Following the sound of the voice, you look up into the tree you're under to see the last you want. It's a young man, nay more like a boy, sitting in the tree. He is long limbed and lanky, with black hair and dark eyes. Even though he looks to be on the younger side, his face is shaped and chilled like that of an older person. He's a strange combination of both man and boy and you can't quite seem to get a grasp on his true age.
“How long have you been there?” You ask. You feel foolish asking but you don’t know what else to say. The lanky boy smiles rather cheekily and rubs the back of his head.
“The whole time, I got here before you.” The panic within you changes to terror. He heard everything. He knows. It no longer matters if Helios can stop acting obvious, it’s already too late. You feel your breathing begin to come out in pants of terror. The boy seems to catch on to your panic and worry covers his face.
“Don’t panic! I won’t tell anyone.” The whole world seems to freeze at his statement. He won’t tell? But why? What does he have to gain from not telling?
“Why?” you ask, looking at him laying out in the branches. The lanky boy moves from his reclined position to one where he is sitting up straight on one branch. His booted-feet dangle just above your head.
“Cause I don’t see any reason to, you’re doing no harm.” he says casually. You are shocked at his response.
"What do you mean no harm?" You ask.
"Well," the lanky boy sighs, "you being a girl doesn't change the fact that you're probably going to fight and die, the same as the rest of us. You probably also didn't plan on signing up for fun, especially if your beau over there is going on about keeping you safe."
"He's not my beau, just a family friend." You say, almost mumbling it. The boy nods, understanding coming over his face as he grasps the relationship you and Helios share. You feel relief flood through you, he wasn’t going to tell anyone. His reasoning made sense, and it made you almost embarrassed how nervous you were about the whole situation. Your moment of relief stops almost as soon as it starts when the boy speaks again.
“I understand why you want to keep it a secret though.”
“You do?” you ask, tilting your head.
“Yah,” the boy says, “Not everyone is going to think the same way I do about, well, this whole situation.” he says gesturing towards you. “The higher ups might see you as cheating the system, and, well, army men are not exactly the best people to be around as a girl.” You wince at the thought of what could happen to you if everyone did find out about your gender. Maybe your concerns were warranted if even this random boy thought so. You were then struck by an embarrassing thought, you hadn’t asked the boy his name yet.
Blushing a little you say, “I just realized I haven’t asked what your name is yet. You know mine, hell both of mine." You hear a small chuckle leave the boy and your nerves get even worse. "So, it would probably be good to ask what yours is.” The boy smiles at you, he jumps down from his spot on the tree branch. He lands easily on his feet, straightening up and pushing off his black tunic and brown pants. He puts out his hand for you to shake.
“Sehun, it's nice to meet you, Lyn." You reach out and shake his hand. You feel warmth grow inside you as his uses your fake name.
"Ummm," a sense of awkwardness falls between the two of you. You rack your brain to come up with something to say. "Where are you from?" You say rather awkwardly shrugging your shoulders in a way that shows you have no confidence in the question. Sehun sighs and looks back the way the party had come.
"I live on a farm near the Oh Valley. Maybe about two miles or so outside the town in the valley." Shock overcomes you, that's the neighboring town to your hometown. He probably lives not more than ten miles away from your home.
"What!?" You exclaim, "That's the crazy, I live just outside the town in the south hills from the Valley. We're practically neighbors!" Sehun's face lights up with excitement, his face changing into a boyish grin that makes him look almost cute. "It seems fate is wanting us to be friends or something." You say, grinning wide.
"I don't know about that," Sehun says, a skeptical look in his eyes. "Nevertheless, it's nice to meet someone from the same area as me." He then leans forward a little. "If you do want to be friends then I am more than open to the idea. I've been on my own this whole trip and I would love to have someone to travel with." You feel a smile come to your face. You bring your fingers to your chin, in a mock thinking position.
"Hmmmm," you muse, "that is a very intriguing offer. I have been in the market for a partner in this journey, my current one doesn't seem to be respecting my wishes exactly." The smile of Sehun's face turns into a smirk.
"Well, I promise to keep your secret, respect you as an individual, and only ask that you don't get annoyed with me." Sehun says.
"Deal," you put out your hand to seal the "deal". Sehun takes your hand and shakes it firmly. Before both of you know it, you're laughing way to hard. The giddiness that floods your heart is something you weren't expecting. You like Sehun, a lot actually. He seems like a fun person, but still a good one. After you both catch your breath after laughing, you motion to the food you have sitting on the ground.
"If you don't mind, can we sit down so I can eat?" You ask.
"Of course," Sehun says. You sit back down on the ground, getting yourself comfortable and finally able to eat.
"Now then," Sehun says, settling down next to you. He eyes your food with a greedy look that makes you shake your head at him, "Why did you sign up? There has to be a story to it." You sigh, you knew he would ask but it wasn't something you really wanted to talk about.
"I'm an only child, so the only male in my family is my father. He isn't exactly young and full of the spirit of youth anymore. When I saw the decree, I knew that he would definitely die if he went to fight. He probably wouldn't even make it past training without some health concern. So, I decided to go in his place and tell my parents that the decree said one member of the family and leave out the male part. I went to the family friends we had and told them the whole situation. They weren't exactly happy about the situation as you can tell." You say gesturing to where Helios left earlier. "But they all knew that it was the best opinion. Then the parents told Helios, that guy from earlier, to make sure I'm safe, and you can clearly see how well that's going for the two of us." You take a bite of your grits after you finish your small tale. Sehun looks at you with an thoughtful look.
"They're going to find out you lied to them." He says.
"I know," you respond, "by the time they learn though it will already be too late." Sehun let's out a small chuckle.
"I can see you thought this through." He comments
"Sort of," you say, "I kind of come up with the plan as I walked home from town, and then showed up at the family friends house with cut hair and a vague plan. It all came together after that." You take another bite of your grits. You can see Sehun continue to eye the food, and hold out your bowl to him. "Want a bite?" You ask.
"Yes please," he responds, "I didn't grab any food." You raise one of your eyebrows and give me a look of confusion.
"Why would you do that?" You ask, while handing him your apple.
"Didn't feel like dealing with that mob." He says. He takes the apple from your hand and immediately starts to devour it. You let out a small chuckle. What an interesting reason for not getting food.
"When did you plan on eating then?" You ask.
"I usually eat in the mornings and evenings." Sehun response, apple already half gone.
"All because you don't want to deal with the group?"
"Yup," he says. You make a humming nosie of acknowledgement, it wasn't exactly a bad idea but one that you don't think you could do. You decide to change the subject at hand.
"What's your story?" You ask. Sehun looks at you with confusion on his face.
"My story?"
"Yah, why are you here? Are you an only child? Only living male? Everyone has a reason for being here, and you heard mine, so what's yours?" You take another bite and wait for Sehun to answer. He sighs and his face becomes more serious. Yet again, he looks older when he isn't smiling in some capacity.
"It's nothing really extraordinary, like yours." Sehun leans back against the tree and looks out over the field. "I'm the youngest of two brothers, and my older brother had just recently gotten engaged. I thought that if he died, it would be worse than me. So, when the conversation came up, I offered and no one could really argue with me." Sehun takes a final bite out of his apple and mutters, "that's all there is to it." His story is simple but it does tells you one thing about Sehun, he cares deeply for those he loves. He's almost like you in a way, choosing to go enlist because you dying would be the least painful in the family. Pausing in your meal, you look at Sehun. You can see the silent resignation in his eyes, that look of knowing he may never be able to see his family again and this is his one final act love for them.
"I understand," you say. Sehun looks at you and a sense of companionship passes between you. Sehun clears his throat and tries to change the subject.
"So, what are your plans for after the war?" He asks, throwing his apple core away. You're thrown completely off by his question. You never really thought about what you're going to do after the war.
"I don't know," you say, "probably just go back to the farm and continue to work it." Sehun nods slowly. A small silence falls between the two of you. You venture to try and start up the conversation again.
"Do you have something in mind for after the war?" You ask.
"Not really," Sehun states, "Maybe stay on with the Army."
"Is that something you want to do?" you ask, a little intrigued at the thought of Sehun officially joining the Army.
"I don't know," he responds, "I mostly just want to get out of my home, start a new life somewhere else. I want to be more than just a second son to a farmer; and I feel like this could really provide me the opportunity I've been looking for." You nod your head in a acknowledgement. You understand that thought process, Helios has a similar idea but it wasn't as simple. Sehun genuinely seemed like he was trying to figure out what to do with his life and he felt being in the army or even in the capital would give him that opportunity. Helios just wanted to be important, and he saw being in the army as a way of doing that. In a way, you can relate more Sehun's idea than Helios's, the idea of starting over somewhere new to figure out your life is something everyone has felt. You reach out and grasp Sehun's hand strongly. He is taken off guard at your sudden action. You look him dead in the eyes, which were a beautiful chocolate color.
"Well then, as my repayment to you for keeping my secret, I promise to make sure that you will live to the end of this war and can figure out what you're meant to do with your life." Sehun smiles one of his childlike smiles and a look of fondness comes to his eyes. You feel your heart swell with happiness, even though you have just met this lad, you already feet deep affection for him and the want to keep him smiling like that. Sehun's grip on your hand tightens.
"Thank you, Y/N" he whispers, so quite you almost can't hear it. At that very moment a call goes out.
"All bowls need to be returned to the wagon and those who have start walking!" Sehun and you both look back to the party and hear the noises of grumbling men and boys.
"Well, you better return that bowl or you'll lose your head." Sehun jests.
You look back at him and retort, "I'd like to seem them try." Sehun let's out a chuckle and stands up, pulling you up along with him.
"Shall we?" he asks, hand still clasped in yours.
"We shall." You respond taking off in a run, pulling the poor boy behind you.
"Lynnnnn." Sehun whines. You only laugh, but still hold onto his hand. Sehun likewise, despite his whining, holds on firmly to your hand.
