PSA: if you're driving at night and someone behind you flashes their brights CHECK YOUR HEADLIGHTS. This is a common way for others to tell you to that your headlights are off when they should be on (at least in the US, not sure about other countries)

JULY 2024 PREDICTIONS
Keep in mind, entire chart influences accuracy. This is a general read not personal. Take it as entertainment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Read for rising/ascendant sign.
ARIES RISING:
Your chart ruler, mars will conjunct uranus. For you, this can bring sudden financial changes. Mars brings a “cutting” energy. So you may be cutting ties with a source of income. You may be selling something/cutting ties with a possession. You may have a surprise expense coming up. Be careful with overspending this month especially around the 14-16th.
Venus is in opposition with Pluto. It’s possible the surprise financial change may involve kids or other 5th H topics. The opposition can create tension between 11th & 5th H topics. Pluto is slowly working on transforming your 11th H (social circles, long term goals). But Venus wants the energy to have fun & indulge in your 5th H. For some this can manifest as romantic feelings for a friend. When Mercury enters your 5th, you or someone else may want to communicate these feelings. However, a friends to lovers story isn’t for everyone if the natal does not indicate it.
Mars will later move into Gemini. Watch out for speeding & parking tickets, mars in 3rd can be a time you get caught. And watch for arguments especially involving siblings. On the bright side, this can be a good time to prepare a trip. You might want to plan a fun road trip or day trip with your friends &/or siblings.
You may have family visiting this month. You could receive a message from or about a family member. Might be a female family member. You might have a trip planned that involves a place near water. You could have plans to beautify the home in some kind of way early July. This could be a generally peaceful time at home.
TAURUS RISING:
Your chart ruler, Venus will begin in cancer and move to Leo. When Venus enters Leo, there will be opposition to Pluto. This creates tension in your 10th & 4th. There could be a tug & pull kind of energy between outside life (career, reputation) and inside life (home, family, personal matters).
Venus will trine Saturn. This can manifest as getting support from your social circle. Maybe some fun activities as well. May be near the water like a pool party.
When Mercury & Venus & Sun all enter leo, you may be more focused on home life. You could be buying things for the home. Beautifying the home in some way. Spending more time at home. However, you may have outside obligations that prevent you from fully relaxing and enjoying this energy. You could have visitors coming to your home as well. There could be some planning and cleaning up that needs to be done.
The other big thing for you this month is mars will conjunct uranus in your first house. This can make you prone to accidents especially involving heat or electricity. Be cautious. Watch for impulsive urges to make changes to your appearance.
Mars traditionally rules your 12th & 7th. If you have some repressed anger/frustration, it could be coming out suddenly. This could shock you or others. Watch out for this. Make sure you communicate effectively. If you know a scorpio rising, be aware this month especially around 14-16th, they may be the one who is blowing up.
GEMINI RISING:
At the end of the month, mercury will be in your 4th getting ready to retrograde. There may be changes or plans in family and home life. Maybe you consider moving or selling a property. Maybe you want to do a home renovation project. Or some simply reorganization. By early August, you may have to question or delay these plans. However, it won't be that bad as Mercury is comfortable in your 4th house.
Venus, Mercury and Sun all enter Leo. This puts focus on 3rd house topics - transportation, communication, community, siblings, etc. These planets will opposite Pluto for a short time. There may be some tension between 9th house and 3rd. Some heated conversations or feelings towards authority figures. Car troubles could appear. Some may be purchasing a car, you would like already know this is happening though.
Mars will conjunct Uranus in taurus. This is your 12th of whats hidden. There may be some unpredictable and hostile energy in the background this month. It is likely hidden though. Maybe you struggle to sleep. Mars tradtionally rules your 11th and 6th. Friends may be fighting, you could have some kind of flu that you are unaware. It likely does not affect you directly. You could be on the sidelines watching the drama go down.
CANCER RISING:
The month will begin with a new moon in your first house. You may notice things being cleared out before this. A fresh start is coming up. You could make changes to your appearance. Now is a good time to begin planning for the future. What do you want to manifest? Now is a good time to start working toward any goals.
Mercury & Venus & Sun will go into Leo. This is your 2nd house. You could be more focused on finances this month. This could be due to goals you have that involve transportation & home. It is a fixed sign opposing pluto in another fix sign (aqua). This indicates pressure. It may be due to pressure from family to get a job or better your finances.
Mars will conjunct uranus in your 11th. This is an explosive energy. It likely doesn’t involve most of you directly. It may be your social circle. You could simply be a bystander to some fights or drama. I’d suggest staying out of it because uranus & mars makes for an unpredictable and potentially agressive situation. If you know any scorpio risings or aries, they may the ones doing the exploding ( as they are naturally ruled by mars).
LEO RISINGS:
Okay so I immediately wanted to get to one specific transit for you guys. Mars conjunct Uranus in your 10th. If your MC is near 26 degrees Taurus, it’s even more likely to affect you. This energy is bringing sudden changes to your career and reputation. Personal life may somehow work itself into public life. Stuff from the past may come back up this month. There could be gossip about you. This month you aren’t likely to be perceived in the best possible light. Despite Venus entering your first house later. Venus in leo may soften the blow though.
If the gossip gets its way back to you, take a breath and know it’s just not that serious at the end of the day. If you are a public figure or someone who posts a lot, you may get some nasty comments this month. Negativity online is likely. Some of you may get screenshots of texts sent to you. Also be cautious of what you send to other people. It could be your photos or texts being sent around.
Mercury & Sun & Venus all enter Leo this month. That’s a lot of attention on you. Unfortunately, these will all opposite pluto for a little bit. This can create tension between you & your relationships (friends, business, romantic partner). And even family because pluto is associated with your 4th house. What others want for you may not align with what you want for yourself. Don’t let people intimidate you into doing what they want. Do what’s best for yourself.
A lot of stuff that happens this month may reappear in December. You could see some red flags and/or intuitively feel things are off. For most by the end of this year, you could feel so much has changed. Especially in regard to your life direction, appearance, your relationships & career. This isn’t necessarily bad.
VIRGO RISINGS:
Your chart ruler, mercury will start in cancer, go into leo than into virgo. So 11th, 12th and 1st topics may be big for you this month. You may have a period of physical or mental isolation. It would be for the best though as Venus will later enter your 12th. Venus will attempt to bring some peace into your sub conscious. Yet, you may still have some restless nights since mercury & sun are there too.
Mars will conjunct Uranus in taurus. This could be a surprise trip you have to plan. Mars does indicate a “cutting” energy though. So it may be plans being suddenly cancelled. You could make final choices on higher education as well.
Mars traditionally rules your 3rd & 8th. This can indicate sudden events in regard to vehicles or investments, inheritance & death. You could get into heated debate about your beliefs. You could fight with siblings, childhood friends, neighbours. To be honest, 14-16th is heated energy for everyone. Be cautious of driving and communicating. In general, people are more likely to be negative. If you know any scorpio rising or aries rising, they may be hotheads during this time. They are traditionally ruled by mars so this conjunction will affect them the most.
If you plan any long road trips, make sure you take a vehicle that you know won’t break down. Otherwise, those 12th H transits may manifest as being stranded while you wait for help. And be sure to not be speeding, you are likely to get caught.
LIBRA RISING:
Venus & Mercury & Sun will all enter Leo. Making it an 11th house focused month. You could be socializing. Having trips planned with friends. Having events to go to like weddings, birthdays, parties, etc. These planets will all opposite Pluto for a bit. This can create tension between 11th & 5th house topics. While Venus desires to socialize and have fun in the 11th, pluto is working transforming your 5th. There could be issues with children. There could be issues with friends and crushes or romantic partners. You could be involved. Or you could simply hear about the drama as you socialize with people.
Mars will conjunct Uranus in your 8th. Be careful as this can bring accidents especially involving heat and electricity. You could suddenly find yourself receiving money or being in debt. It’s hard to say because uranus is unpredictable. Mars traditionally rules your 2nd and 7th. This surprise event could involve friends, business or romantic partners. Mars can indicate “cutting ties”. A relationship could surprisingly end. A job could end. There could be problems with money. So watch out for overspending, you could have a surprise expense coming up. Uranus rules your 5th as well. So for some this could be finding out about a surprise pregnancy.
SCORPIO RISING:
Your traditional ruler, mars will conjunct uranus in your 7th. This can indicate you fighting with someone. Around 14-16th, you may feel really angry especially if you’ve been repressing anger. You might blow up so be cautious of communicating effectively. You could be the villain in some people’s story this month. Mars can indicate cutting ties. You may suddenly decide to break up with a lover, friend or even in business. Be careful to not be impulsive. Is this a choice you can make without regretting later.
Your modern ruler, Pluto will opposite Venus in Leo. This brings opposition between home and career. You may feel pressured to get a job. Relationship status may be changing.
Venus & Mercury & Sun all enter Leo this month. Bringing focus into career & reputation. There could be some news regarding career. It may create change in your family and home life. Maybe people are leaving the job = leaving you with more responsibility at work. You could be moving for career. You could be unable to make it to family events due to career.
SAG RISING:
Your ruler Jupiter is in Gemini until 2025. Here jupiter continues to gradually expand your relationships. This month there aren’t any jupiter aspects though.
This month is more focused on 9th topics. Venus & Mercury & Sun all will enter your 9th. This can have your focus on higher education and travel. These will all opposite pluto for a short time. This can bring heated debates with family, friends & partners. This can lead to a struggle when communicating. There could be issues regarding documents. Plan carefully.
Mars will conjunct uranus in taurus. Be careful of accidents especially involving heat and electricity. An accident or sudden illness could affect your ability to be your best at work. Mars traditionally rules your 12th and 5th. This matter could involve recreational activities affecting your health. For example a hang over. 5th is kids as well, some could hear of a surprise pregnancy. Mars is “cutting ties” energy. You could be ending something. It’s hard to say exactly because uranus is unpredictable. It could be a car issue or electricity going out.
CAPRICORN RISING:
Mars will conjunct uranus in your 5th. This can create unpredictable and hostile energy. Mars can indicate “terminating”. You may end a relationship. End involvement in a hobby you had. End your involvement in some kind of drama you feel is childish.
Venus, Mercury & Sun will all enter Leo. This creates a lot of focus on 8th H topics. Death, investments, inheritance, debt, etc. These planets will all opposite pluto for a bit. Pluto is trying to transform your finances and possessions. These planets in 8th could offer support in some way. Maybe a parent will pay for your tuition, vacation or something else.
Watch out for overspending and landing yourself in debt though. And be careful who you share passwords and personal information with this month. Someone could later use this to take your power or status away.
AQUA RISINGS:
Pluto in your first house will opposite Venus, Mercury and Sun when they enter Leo. This creates tension between you and your relationships. Pluto is attempting to slowly transform who you are. This might upset your relationships (friends business or romantic partner). There could be change in your status. Maybe you get into a relationship, end a relationship, marry, get engaged. Change in career could be likely. Or simply a personality / mindset change.
There could be pressure from the outside to make changes. You could refuse change. Leading to issues with others. Business clients friends or partners could be getting on your nerves this month. Or you could feel stressed due to you wanting to do right by them.
Mars conjunct Uranus in your 4th suggests a surprise event in home. Mars can be hostile and uranus can be unpredictable. You may have to suddenly move. You could get to fights in the home. Mars traditionally rules your 3rd and 10th. This surprise event could involve vehicle, career or siblings. Maybe you and your sibling fight over who gets the car.
PISCES RISING:
Mars will conjunct uranus in your 3rd. This can create fights with siblings or neighbours. Especially if you know scorpio or aries rising. They’re traditionally ruled by mars so they’ll be the most affected by the hostile & unpredictable transit. You could have a car break down. Don’t speed because you are likely to get caught. You may have an unexpected car expense.
Venus Mercury and Sun all enter Leo. This puts a lot of focus in your 6th. It all will opposite Pluto for a short time. There could be tension between 11th and 6th house. Maybe you have work or health issues & obligations. Maybe you get a pet this creates more responsibility for you.
Your social circle may want to have fun and socialize. You may have obligations that conflict with this.

Icarus Part 3
Hello! If you haven't seen it yet, I've got a set schedule for what story posts on what days now (as seen here) and this one as well as Well Met By Moonlight, Batshit Soulmates, and Never Hold Back Your Step... will still be posting just on rotation until I can finish some of my WIPs. (I may be stretching myself a bit thin having six going at the same time.)
In this one we have the concert. Eddie stumbles on something big and doesn't know how to deal with it all. And Uncle Wayne is bestest as always.
@emly03 @redfreckledwolf @itsall-taken @rozzieroos @mira-jadeamethyst
Part 1 Part 2
****
The day of the concert dawned abhorrently cheerful and bright. Not a cloud in the sky or any accidents that would prevent Eddie from having to take Dustin to this event. He wouldn’t deign to call it a concert. He had heard the album and seen their posters, but he refused to wander over to YouTube and watch videos of their concerts, interviews, their music videos.
He didn’t want to be even more disappointed that they were all flash and no substance then he was sure he was going to be for the next two hours.
Dustin rolled his eyes when Eddie parked in the huge concert parking lot.
“You’re just salty because I like them as much as I like Corroded Coffin,” he huffed getting out the car. “You have to concede that Abaddon’s vocals are killer.”
Eddie scoffed. “Do not. I haven’t heard them live. Way too many artists use autotune too much these days.”
“You sound like that meme,” he sneered, “‘Old Man Yells at Cloud’.”
Eddie swatted at him playfully. “Am not.” Dustin raised his eyebrow skeptically and he threw his arms in the air. “I’m not. I am a very serious musician, Dusty. The last thing metal needs is some band that can’t write or even play their own instruments. This isn’t pop.”
“You are such an asshole,” he said and turned toward the entrance, leaving Eddie to jog to catch up with him.
Eddie sighed and put his arm around Dustin’s shoulder. “I’m sorry. You’re right. I am being an asshole. I turned into the person I swore I would never be. Those shit for brains critics that hated Corroded Coffin when we first got on the scene. And that was wrong of me.”
Dustin sighed, too. “I just want you to like them too. They are so good if you’d just give them a chance.”
Eddie breathed out through his nose. “Yeah. I can at least give them that.”
They got to their seats and Eddie was a little impressed at Claudia Henderson’s Ticket Master foo. They weren’t front row, but they were only a couple of rows back so you could actually see the stage without having to strain their necks and smack dab in the center of the row.
Dustin would have the best time. And now it was up to Eddie not ruin it for the kid. Because yes, he was still a kid as far as Eddie was concerned. Twenty-one was so fucking young. That was how old most of the band was when they got their record deal, after all. They weren’t prepared for what came next, that’s for sure.
They got settled into their seats and Eddie watched as the rest of the crowd shuffled in. They were all about Dustin’s age with very few exceptions in either direction.
There seemed to be a color theme going on with the girls in the audience though. They were grouped in clumps of red, black, blue, or white. Which made sense if each band member stuck to a certain color palette.
Well he was about to find out, he supposed.
The lights dimmed. The crowd quieted down. The spotlight lit up the drumkit first. And Eddie knew that Gareth would be drooling over it. It was all black with black metal fittings. The kit seemed to collect light almost like a blackhole.
Then from the ceiling, a man dressed all in black being lowered onto the stage with large black raven wings on his back. He wore a black hooded coat over what, Eddie couldn’t tell. It was all black. The shirt, the pants, the boots. Even his mask was all black with even the eyes appearing closed. His feet touched the ground and the crowd went wild.
“Azrael!” the announcer called out.
Azrael settled on the throne and picked up black drum sticks. He counted time above his head and played a wicked solo to the adoring crowd’s absolute delight.
Dustin jumped up and down, screaming.
The spotlight moved to the right side of stage and the next band member descended from the ceiling. Large bat wings adorned his back and he was dressed in red leather fetish gear. Complete with tight leather pants that looked painted on and a matching harness highlighting his bare chest, peeking out from the red leather hooded coat.
His guitar was fucking gorgeous, though. A Warlock, much like Eddie’s own. It was custom painted red with black flames licking up the neck.
Eddie rolled his eyes, but it seemed he was the only one who thought the whole thing was over the top judging from the screams from the girls in the audience.
He didn’t just land gently on the stage like the drummer did, oh no. He fucking stomped onto the stage with a howl.
His wings, like the drummer’s ascended back into the rafters as the announcer shouted, “Asmodeus!”
And then Eddie really did roll his eyes. The demon of lust. Of course he was.
But seconds later Eddie’s jaw dropped to the floor as the man wailed on his guitar driving the crowd further into the frenzy.
Once he finished his solo the crowd quieted again and he could see why. Because just then, descending on gossamer wings that shimmered like starlight, was their bassist.
Everything about him was midnight blue and shimmering like the night. His mask was the face of the moon. He had his own hooded coat, but it was like the night sky, with some kind of crystal or gem sewn in to make the coat glimmer like stars.
His bass was something that Brian would have sold his own mother for and they were as thick as thieves. Eddie didn’t know much about basses considering his sweetheart was an electric guitar, but he could tell it wasn’t expensive but was perfect for his style. A style he showed off with gusto to the audience’s obvious delight.
“Astraeus!” the announcer cried.
Eddie decided that this one was his favorite. It played up the whole mysterious thing without the over the top flash of the guitarist or the sheer void of the drummer.
The audience hushed as the three members of the band began to play what was clearly the lead singer’s entrance music.
And holy fuck was Eddie screwed. This man was descending like a fucking angel sent from God, Jesus pose and all.
He was all in white with an opaque lace mask that had his mouth and chin cut out for him to sing. That surprised Eddie somewhat. He figured that the guy would have his whole face covered like everyone else in the band and that he could lip sync.
But nope. Apparently no one in this band did anything by halves.
The lead singer was wearing a sheer mesh crop top under the hooded floor length coats the whole band was wearing. Only his was white with a silk powder blue lining.
Eddie winced in sympathy. They must get boiling under the lights with those things on.
A few feet from the stage floor there was an explosive pop! And the feathers from his wings flew out into the crowd who was now screaming as if their life depended on the sheer volume coming out them. He looked over at Dustin who was no different.
When Eddie could see the stage again, this angel’s wings were now skeletal and gothic.
He landed in front of microphone whose stand had been decorated with a scarf in each of of the band members’ signature colors.
“Abbadon!” the announcer yelled for the final time.
And Eddie was in love. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
Dustin must have seen his expression because he was suddenly tugging on Eddie’s arm and screaming, “I told you!!”
“Indy!” Abbadon growled, grabbing the mic. “Thank you so much for having us! Let’s get this started.”
Then he began to sing and yeah, Eddie knew that the guy had charm, but this was a whole new level of epic. He was enthralled.
He didn’t utter a fucking word for several songs. But then it happened. Eddie couldn’t believe it. He hurried to snap a picture to make sure he wasn’t dreaming.
But there it was it in living color. He turned to Dustin to see if he saw it too, but the kid was too busy screaming and jumping up and down.
Eddie’s jaw fell.
That couldn’t be right, couldn’t it? That Dustin didn’t know? Eddie looked back up on stage and a lot of the puzzle pieces started slotting in place. His heart sank a little.
He shook his head to clear it of dark thoughts. He didn’t know the reason for any of this and leaping to conclusions would only get a shit ton of people hurt. Especially the boy next to him.
Eddie let the music wash over him. Let the magic of metal soothe his soul. Soon he was jumping up and down and headbanging with the rest of the crowd. Right hand flashing the devil’s horns, left hand out to steady himself he let himself enjoy the band’s stage presence.
****
To say that Eddie’s mind was fucking blown would be an understatement. He pestered Dustin all the way home with rapid fire questions. Where did the band tour last time? What was their schedule this time? Was it a six month tour or an eighteen month tour last time?
Dustin answered each question with growing excitement, thinking that Eddie had finally grown to love this band as much as he had.
Eddie on the other hand felt a growing sense of dread. Well... maybe dread was the wrong word. It was certainly a sinking feeling. One he really had to exam closely.
At least he could honestly say that he fell in love with the music before he found out his little secret.
And fuck what a secret it was.
He dropped Dustin off at home and drove out to the ranch that he had gifted to Wayne when Corroded Coffin first made it big. It was a beautiful, sprawled out home surrounded by acres of land and Eddie loved it even more than Wayne did.
Eddie stumbled through the door and was surprised to see Wayne drinking hot chocolate and reading a sports magazine in his expensive recliner. And yet, at the same time, not really that surprised.
“You do realize I’m no longer that fucked up kid with anger issues,” Eddie huffed on his way to the kitchen to grab a beer, “that were almost as bad as the troubles with the law, right?”
Wayne chuckled. “Maybe so. But you’re still my boy and I’ll keep worrying about you until the day I die.”
Eddie popped open the can of beer and sat down on the sofa. He leaned his head back on the back cushion with a heavy sigh.
Wayne raised an eyebrow. “What’s stewing around in that head of yours?”
Eddie slowly raised his head. “What would you do if you accidentally found out something about a friend that they were keeping from everyone they knew?”
Wayne set down his magazine. “That would depend on the secret. Is it hurting anyone?”
“Is what hurting anyone?” Eddie asked. “The secret?” Wayne nodded and Eddie frowned, really thinking about it.
“Maybe some feelings,” he said after a moment. “But it’s not dangerous like they committed a crime or anything. It’s not even about their sexuality.”
Wayne hummed thoughtfully. “And is it a big secret or a little one?”
Again Eddie was forced to think hard about what that meant. “I guess it depends on the person, but in my eyes it’s pretty big.”
The elder Munson nodded. “Do you feel hurt by this secret?”
“Yeah, yeah. I guess I do.” He bowed his head and let out a shuddering breath.
“Is there a reason you think he wouldn’t have told you?” Wayne pressed.
“Of course no–” Eddie stopped as his brain caught up to his mouth. “Shit.”
Wayne raised a questioning eyebrow.
“Yeah,” Eddie admitted shyly. “There’s a pretty good reason why he wouldn’t have told me. And now I feel like the shit friend.”
Wayne stood up and pulled Eddie into a big hug. “Maybe so, but you have the time to course correct and show this friend that you are worthy of his secret.”
Eddie nodded. “Thanks, Uncle Wayne,” he mumbled into Wayne’s neck.
“I’m just glad I could help.”

BACK HOME TO YOU
masterlist
Tumblr media
"I'll be there in no time, before you even know" his words have been echoing in your head since the last call you had with him yesterday. Your heart beats louder than it could ever as you time to time realize that he'll be home, here with you. You couldn't be more happy to see him after almost two years.
You sit in the living room, trying to make notes but your mind is occupied by the only question: when will he be home? It has been three weeks since the last show. You watched it through an Instagram live stream. That's how you tried to watch the shows but sometimes it was hard to catch up.
Almost every day was hectic and exhausting for you as you have classes to go, a lot of studies, and exams. Your student life was getting hard on you. And to be honest without Harry besides you it was hard to deal. Although Harry used to call to check upon you and ask about your day and even though he was far away from you he'd still try to boost you.
After the final show, Harry stayed in Italy for vacations. He said that he wanted to straight away come home to you but his family and friends had some other plans for him, to have a little Italy trip and enjoy some time there. You said it was nice but also you can't wait anymore to see him. He then asked you to join them and that he will arrange the tickets for you. You wondered if he had told everyone about you, 'cause the way he was asking you to come to Italy but only his mum knows about you. You denied the invitation kindly and told him to enjoy his vacations and that you'll just wait for him to get back home, it'll be worth it as you could also finally take one or two weeks off from studies when he returns back.
The thing is you were not ready to meet his family or friends, at least not like this when you didn't have Harry by your side who could've helped you with your anxiety and made you a little prepared for the meet up but he immediately understood that you got nervous by that thought. so when you said no, he didn't force you.
You look at the time. 4:30 pm. You are about to get up and make yet another coffee for yourself when you hear a scattering sound of glass from the front, that makes you halt in your way. Has someone broken into the house? Or is it just another cat that got in here? you go and check. You take the plastic bottle from the coffee table just in case of some thief. Yes, a fucking plastic bottle. You walk out of the living room turning left in the direction of the front door, hoping it's just a cat.
Your eyes land on the ground for a second, where the small flower pot is laying into pieces and then immediately darts to the man standing in front of you. He's biting his tongue and the posture he's standing in, with his hand in the mid air tells that the flower pot breaking was a total accident of course. He has his big pleasing bag on his side. It is big enough that it must have bumped to the pot now that it is on the ground.
The bottle falls from your hands. "harry?" and your eyes start to water, you didn't expect it would be him. the bottle makes a sound in the silence as he speaks for the first time in two years to you, in person.
"Hi pup, I'm home." he grins, still standing there but nor were you able to move for a few seconds. "was going to surprise ya' but-" he moves forward towards you but you immediately run to him and engulf him in your arms, in a big hug. The sudden but expected thing, the force made you both move back but Harry hugs you back tight enough and tries to prevent you both from falling on the floor.
You start crying and let your tears flow in his shirt and damp it as you hug him. You waited so long for this. so long. Ever since he left for the tour, after he gave you the last cuddle, last kiss for the last time… for that 'while'... and you right away started missing him, his touch. It made you cold and since then you had been cold until now… now that you're finally in his arms and he's finally in your arms again. You can feel the familiar warmth again and there's nothing more you could ask for.
You are melting in his hug. He makes both of you sit on the floor while staying in the hug. You could stay in that hug forever. He removes the sling from his shoulder and pushes the bag away. He crushes you in his arms more now and right away you move to straddle his lap to get more close to him. It's not enough.
After a few moments, "Look at me y/n.'' he says in his soft low voice, his hand coming to your head and in your hair as you keep weeping in his neck but not looking at him. "pup... look at me, wanna see your pretty face." you shake your head in his neck, not trusting your voice because your throat is heavy from all the emotions. You're not ready to look at him this close. you'll break down bad. You need time and he understood "alright! I got you." he kisses the side of your head and starts to soothe your back but deep inside seeing you like this, his heart is about to explode.
"I missed you so much, you know.. wanted to come back the second I left, just to take you with me." he cleared his throat, "but couldn't do that." you squeeze his shoulder.
"say something, pup.." he sighs in your hair, smelling and smiling in it.
"I missed you…so much" you say in a small voice, it has you at the verge of choking on your words if you try to let out another word.
"yeah?" Harry keeps rubbing his palm on your back. He knows you very well, how you need it now. You nod in his neck. There is a moment of silence.
"So much...and it was hard for me when you were not here. I was so lost... sometimes it was hard to deal with life…" you speak slowly to him.
"I'm sorry for that darling." you again shake your head in his neck. "Why didn't you tell me? we used to talk, you should've let me know. I would've helped you, you know that well."
"you're right but I'll be honest," you take a breath and continue. "I didn't want to bother you with my problems while you were touring. i…didn't want to add more stress because I knew how tired you get while doing that." you always thought that although Harry told you to never think like that. The most important thing he said to you before he left was "never hesitate to reach out to me. always talk to me and I'll always be there when you need me." and he told you to highlight it. You did but when it was almost every time, you had to think about him too. of course, you didn't want to concern him.
"Even after what I told you? I needed to know you were okay, and wanted you to talk to me about it. Never wanted you to cry alone and sleep through it."
"I know.." you whisper as you give a small peck on his neck.
He takes a deep breath in. "and still? You know I hate you for that."
You immediately look at him. "I'm sorry, please don't hate me." and that's when you see that he'd been tearing up this whole conversation. He's smiling through the tears and his nose is pinkish. "harry…" you cup his face in your hands and stroke his cheek with your thumb. It breaks your heart when you see tears in his eyes. Your thumbs move to caress his moustache that he grew. You absolutely love it.
"I hate you so much." he chuckles and he brings his hand from your hair to cup your face as he keeps the other around you. Before you can respond he brings your face closer and tenderly pushes his lips on yours. You kissed him back right away. The moustache tickles you but it was the best feeling ever. The contact of your lips after so long…is incredible and passionate, as if you're expressing the feelings that were built up in these 2 years, by kissing each other. It's satisfying.
You pull away to say your words "I love you too, so much more..." you both dive back into the kiss, your hand moves to the back of his head and in his hair as you gently grab it.
"I love you too-." he mumbles into the kiss. You feel his tear on your cheek, slowly pulling away and you kiss on his cheek.
"I'm Home." he smiles with tears in his eyes.
"Me too, harry. I'm so happy that you're back."
'cause home is where my harry is.
You keep looking at each other with glossy eyes. Why aren't they stopping? You bite your lower lip as you shake your head at him. "Please stop this." requesting him to do something or you doubt that you guys will be just crying for the rest of the day.
"I will." he nods, smiling. You see his dimples popping up. "You know, I got gifts for you." He points behind him where his bags were on the side. You didn't notice that at first.
"really?" your eyes lighten up. "Did you get me your vest that you wore in your Spain show?" You absolutely loved that outfit. You told him on the call how godly he looked in it and that you wanted that vest of him for yourself. He said he'll get it for you.
"Oh the vest!" he exclaims, his eyes widens as his teeth click together. Noo! He did not.
"The blue one.." Your mouth stays open as you look at him curiously, holding your breath. He didn't forget, did he? noo, i wanted it so bad. He tries to remember about it.
"I did get it for you," he states calmly.
You let out the breath you were holding in and he started laughing. You push on his shoulder. "Anyway, I made many things for you."
"wow! What have you made for me?" He looks at you like a child.
"you'll see." you bite your smile.
"oh c'mon! Tell me."
"emhm." you're so happy. "Okay tell me..would you like to bathe first or eat something?"
"I need to take a bath first. Will you please give me a hot bath?" he looks into your eyes.
You kissed his nose "sure." you stand up from his lap. He follows you.
"I have so much to tell you," he says.
"And I'm here for it, harry. I wanna hear you talk all about it."
Harry is home and so are you. It's your home.

Perfect Strangers- part fifteen: The Theater
Viktor x Fem!reader (slight NSFW)
part fourteen part sixteen     (start here!)
Takes place before Arcane and works its way there, did my best to combine the different versions of lore. (nsfw in parts)
(you and Viktor meet on your first day at the academy and bond over being habitual, awkward loners. The story revolves around class issues and a sense of belonging mixed with lore and Arcane plot.)
*slightly implied NSFW- very brief *

Bags were packed for a weekend trip you were dreading. Not that it was getting in the way of work, nor was it a trip of severe inconvenience. It was a stressful venture; you would rather trek alone instead of having to bring Viktor in hopes of shielding him from what may come.
Your parents were in town again and had asked you and Viktor to stay at the family estate that weekend for a friendly visit. Of course you wanted to prevent ruffled feathers after the last time you were all together, so you obliged after discussing it extensively with Viktor in private. Feeling out his nerves with every shift of his eyes or fidgeting of his hands in yours.
“It’s not too late to back out,” you finished checking the rooms, ensuring everything was tidy for your return, “we can bow out after the theater.”
Many outs were given to Viktor, but he was adamant on going along with your parents’ request in hopes that they would warm up to him in the future. He insisted once more that there was no issue and he was looking forward to seeing your childhood home. That prospect alone made you almost as anxious as having him around your parents.
Entresol was far from the lavish lifestyle you were brought up in. The fissures were toxic, a hazard to raise a child in, and most people were never given a choice about living there. You wondered what he would think of your wastefully large home and how stifling it was. Surely after all of those years together, he would know you were far removed from the mindset of your parents and the estate should not reflect who you had become away at the academy.
A car was waiting for you on the edge of campus which you did not request, only accepting your mother’s offer to have a driver sent as opposed to leaving an hour early to walk. Pistons fired as the vehicle bumbled down the lane on the way to the theater after your bags were loaded into the back seat by the driver. All of the pampering felt widely unnecessary.
The crowds were large and the driver dropped you off at the front steps to the theater which was in a thrall over the spring program. Usually the Winterfest was the highlight of the year for the theater, but, from what you remembered growing up, spring concerts could attract a healthy sum of people on opening night. Obviously your parents wanted to attend on opening night despite the overwhelming number of people.
Your family’s wealth did not provide for a private box, but there were handsomely placed seats in the nosebleeds that allowed ample viewing of the stage unobstructed. There your parents were, waiting for you with drinks already ordered and seats saved for the four of you. There was a table for standing just behind the seats and you passed it before settling into the space next to your mother.
“I almost thought you were going to be late, it would have been a waste of ticket money,” your mother was charming as ever with the way her passive aggressive words edged on the line of cynical in tone and nature.
After fruitlessly arguing with her to assure her you had plenty of time before the concert began, you listened to her drone on about work and home. Staff was getting more disagreeable by the day and she blamed it on them being from the undercity which you were quick to politely reprimand her on without sounding too upset. Apparently there was an accident at one of the manufacturing plants and protests ensued, leading your father to lay off over a dozen workers without a proper investigation. It was vile, and you felt your leg shake with agitation while trying to remain calm.
Beside you, Viktor’s knuckles were white from gripping the neck of his cane between his knees as he looked on at the empty stage, curtains still drawn in a red velvet wall, down below. He was attempting to go unnoticed and to not make a scene since he felt another trap brewing from your mother, egging him on by spitting on the undercity in such a benumbed manner.
There was no room for you to comfort him, even silently, since holding his hand or leaning on him around your parents would most likely result in a painstakingly grueling lecture about “public decency.” If you were with someone from Piltover, then the story would have been very different, but you chose Viktor and for that you would receive no grace.
“Let’s not talk about work,” you smiled at her as best you could, playing the role of loving daughter for her sake.
“One last thing,” she tapped your father on the arm, prompting him to hand her a small letter from the inner pocket of his suit, “this came a few weeks ago. We forwarded the message to you in a letter, but you never responded so I assume you never read it.”
A broken seal told you exactly who it was from. The Galgaridon crest looked up at you in two torn pieces from the folded piece of paper. Just as the music was beginning from the orchestra pit, you unfolded it and began reading its contents; you read at an angle so Viktor could eye it if he wanted to.
Caston Galgaridon wrote to your family home to explain his recent honorable discharge from the Noxian military after an injury sustained on the battlefield rendered him incapable of continuing his service. Part of you knew he must have put himself in harm's way on purpose after your last talk. Whatever the reason, be it accidental or intentional as suspected, he was informing your family of his new position in becoming the new head of the foundry your parents helped build all that time ago. Meaning they would be working directly through him for their Noxian transports and business ventures.
At least he had the decency to not write to you directly and respect your wishes for space. Little could be said for your parents as time crawled on.
“Why does this concern me?” you folded the letter with its familiar creases and reclined in your seat.
“We thought you ought to know since you will be working with him once you’re done with schooling,” your father leaned forward to see past your mother who stared at the performance with feigned indifference, “and it’s important to maintain our partnerships.”
“I don’t see how working in Noxus is relevant to my future career endeavors.”
“No one ever said you had to relocate to Noxus,” his dry laughter said more than you needed to know, “regardless of your living arrangements, correspondence with the young master Galgaridon is still an important partnership.”
Down on stage there were ballet dancers leaping across the polished wooden stage over fake prop pieces of florals and grasses moving in imaginary wind as violins encouraged them on. As chimes echoed in the background, you stole a glance at Viktor who turned just as you did, perfectly in sync with your movements without a word needing to pass between you. Honey colored eyes reflected the lights of the stage in the near darkness of the theater and they were full of a sweetened understanding that you could have melted into if you were back in your rooms with him. You were itching to feel him in any kind of embrace at that moment, but the desire to keep your parents’ feathers silky smooth kept you grounded in your nauseating discomfort.
The past always had an ugly way of dredging itself up at the most inopportune time, but at least in that moment it was less of a real threat and more of an uncomfortable suggestion from your parents. It was a sour attempt to get you out of Piltover and away from Viktor, an obvious stabbing betrayal even if you were unsure it even counted as such when they had been so open with you about their disapproval already.
This is lovely, you had quietly remarked, pointing out the performance, leaning towards your parents. The little gestures were your only salvation it seemed.
Polite conversation was able to spark between the four of you once you managed to get the first few pleasant words out about anything other than responsibilities. Managing to make your parents smile at you and Viktor during comments and jests felt like pushing a rock up a steep hill, arduous, but greatly rewarding once you reached the top and were able to rest at its peak.
By the end of the concert the choppy waters felt unusually calm, whatever storm that had been brewing was either passed or on hold. The cab that came around the front of the building, to collect the four of you, already had your belongings strapped to the rear of the large carriage.
The trip back to the estate was long, as the hours passed, you all dozed off at different times. All except Viktor who took to admiring the changing scenery through the window even if the night outside prevented him from seeing much past the vague silhouette every now and then once you were out of the inner city. Housing towards the edge would range from modest dwellings to smaller unkempt apartments and eventually largely spaced out manors. Wide gaps in wealth were evident even topside it seemed.
He couldn’t help but think those lackluster apartments were right up your combined alley when it came to affordability since you refused to use your family funds. Over the last half year, you both were more frugal with your finances. Accepting that the y/l/n family fortune could be pulled out from under you at any moment made you both carefully calculate your means of living and you made sure to stay within those boundaries.
Viktor also knew this weekend trip was a performance at its core and he was determined to play his part as quietly as he could manage. Willing to seem invisible for your sake and to not stir your parents’ emotions into barring down on you with their unrelenting barrage of disapproving opinions. Difficult as it was, considering he was usually emboldened at the academy, more confident in his field and among his colleagues.
Thankfully he managed to speak to your parents about his work when they appeared to ask with a genuine interest, prodding him to reveal his plans.
******
Lush green hedges surrounded the property, or at least the innermost part of the property that contained the main house and gardens; it did not include the long drive up through manicured rolling landscapes and trees spotted throughout the scene. Leaves and twigs were collected in muslin sacks for disposal after the annual pruning and new buds were well into blossoming in time for the season. Birds skirted across a pond, rippling through the glass surface with beautiful disturbance coupled with their cacophony of squawks and honks.
Home was back at the academy for you, but there would always be a bittersweet nostalgia in returning to the estate for visits and this time was no different. You stepped out of the motorized carriage first, followed by Viktor and your parents in succession. Moonlight and lanterns provided a glow that came off in a haze against the evening mist. Starlight dappled in the blanket of night overhead and you wished to spend more time outside with Viktor in the fresh air, but you were hurriedly rushed inside by your parents who were too eager to show off their abode to a newcomer.
Even if Viktor was not their ideal guest, they were desperately trying to save face. Most of their disdain of him had been private comments made directly to you, so they must have thought he was none the wiser regarding their opinions of him.
Given the late hour, the tour was rather short. They only showed him where they would be dining for breakfast, should you both like to join them that early, and the parlor where they spent most of their free time. Free time did not come often for your parents, but you assumed this weekend they would be lounging for once since they insisted on your staying over.
“Don’t be shy about exploring. I’m sure y/n will take you around at some point as well,” your father passed through the large double doors that opened into a corridor not too far from your room. “Your things have been brought to the bedroom already, so you may retire if you wish.”
Bidding your parents goodnight, you accepted their offer to be excused and took Viktor with you.
“I wish they were this nice all of the time,” you mumbled over your shoulder to Viktor once you were a few turns and rooms away from them. “They were so polite to you, why can’t it be real?”
“Don’t concern yourself over things you cannot control.” Viktor followed you through the doors to your room, pulling the handles closed behind him with a low snap of pins falling into place and the lock setting. “For now, let's just be happy we’ve made it this far.”
He was right. Fretting over wishes and complaints were never going to amount to anything and you were feeling more at ease being alone with him in the privacy of your room.
Something you could control was at your fingertips. It teased at your tongue as you were feeling too shy to openly ask for anything explicit. Sitting on the edge of your canopy bed proved more than enough for a hint when Viktor joined you without suggestion. Evening clothes began to feel suffocating as you lost yourselves in a tangle of limbs and pleading whispers.
******
Morning came with a vengeance. You were undisturbed by maids or your parents, left to rest at your own leisure with Viktor in your bed and the curtains were still pulled back from the night before. Neither of you thought to close them which let the blinding white reflection of the sun wake you since you were facing large glass doors across the room. Scenic lawns softened the blow of the harsh sunlight and you blinked against its glow as a few squirrels sprinted across the window sill in leaping bounds, cheeks full of their gathering spoils.
Blankets tempted you to remain in bed, but the idea of any staff or your parents poking in to check on you prompted you to drag yourself from the plush den and get ready for the day. Pushing open the double doors and opening the remaining curtains to let in more light, you wake Viktor up in the process.
Despite how sleepy you both still felt, there was something in the air that you couldn’t explain. It was like the hotel room when you got a taste of domesticity away from the academy together, playing pretend for a little while before having to return to work and research all while feeling like teenagers in adult bodies.
“I could get used to this,” Viktor held your hand with a reverence that made you blush when you sat next to him on his side of the bed where he was still laying.
     “The nice house?”
“No,” his eyes closed, still tired, “this feeling, in this room. It’s like we’re married.”
“Would you want to?” You moved your two hands together further implying what he just said.
     “Eventually.”
******
Easels with abandoned paintings were pushed into a corner of glass and plaster, leaving room for a large open space of stone that made up the floor to the old studio. Days were once spent toiling away at those easels much to the behest of your family, pouring your soul into the pieces that could only be referenced from the windows beyond your enclosure and images you had seen elsewhere during excursions or from books. There were plenty of those to go around in your home, but taking your art supplies out of the estate and beyond the property grounds was restricted. Encouragement for your creative hobbies was nonexistent since it was only seen as just that, a hobby and nothing more. Cursed be the day you first asked your mother for your beginner set of paints and a canvas. Over time your parents softened to the idea of you pursuing a meaningful pastime, giving you a wide berth for creative study under the guise of it remaining a hobby and you played that part as well as you could for years.
Windows made up a wall of glass, an old sunroom connected to your bedroom through a short hallway only accessible to you. It must have once been a modest sitting room before the estate grew too large for it and it was abandoned until you burrowed your way into it as a child while exploring. Ivy still grew on the back of the house unlike the front where it was completely cleared away for structural integrity.
You were not about to thew Viktor in the history of your home and meaning of all of the rooms. Bringing him to your old studio was more of a thing of boredom and meandering through the halls with him until you thought to visit the old room which felt so strange after all that time away. Dust dated the years you were away despite your infrequent visits to the estate, the studio went on abandoned.
Chatter about the room ranged from explaining what mysterious containers and cups contained, since you were awful at labeling things outside of a shared classroom setting, to shyly tucking away old lackluster art that once left you for want of improved talent.
“It’s a time capsule,” Viktor looked around with curiosity, pretending he didn’t notice you stuffing a large drawing between canvases to his side. Those small graces were everything to you even if you knew full well you couldn’t get much past him even if you tried.
     “You can say that.”
“You’ve always been an artist. I find that inspiring, to have held onto a passion this long with the opposition you’ve received because of it.”
Red creeped up your face, or at least that was how it felt when your heart hammered at his words. Inspiration was a dry well and your addled mind was unable to accept that Viktor found it in you in some way. How you had managed to keep the man before you in your life for so long would continue to elude you and you were just thankful he showed no signs of leaving anytime soon.
“Where do you see us,” it was too late to retract once the words fell out of your blabbering mouth, “in a year or so?” His comment from that morning was worming through your brain.
His sudden stoic expression, deep in thought, did nothing for your nerves so you continued to drone on in the hopes of answering your own stupid question or forcing him to move on and not answer you at all. The latter would have been better.
“I mean, nothing serious, I’m not talking about- um - future plans with you and me,” you rubbed your forehead aggressively trying to find the right words to not scare him away. After a minute or so of rambling you gave up trying to sound coherent. “Forget I said anything.”
“I’m assuming you only want me to respond regarding our careers, though I’d be glad to entertain ideas of what we’ll be in the future together,” his confidence in your relationship was unclear in the way he answered you so you asked him to not elaborate and instead let him talk about what you both might be doing once schooling was over.
With academics nearing a close, you wondered where he would work and if you would both become so busy you would belong to your jobs and lose time to live in the real world. Both of your fields were demanding and not conducive of a healthy atmosphere for maintaining a proper relationship if you were not careful with time management.
Viktor knew not to lose himself in his work, but you hadn’t a clue what the future had in store and how he would change, how he could change if circumstances forced his hand. Just the thought of losing the man in front of you made your stomach turn as you chatted through these possibilities without sounding too desperate for all of your curiosities to be answered in confidence.
“What if I hold you back?” You lamented, leaning against the glass overlooking those grassy fields you memorized as a child. “I want you to be great and belong to your work however you see fit without worrying about…me.”
Whether you wanted to admit it aloud or not, you were unsure if this blissful companionship with Viktor would outlast your school days once you were both free of the academy should you both get jobs away from its labs. No matter what you did, Viktor would most likely become a successful researcher and inventor which would take him to the workshop guilds while your mother had hinted you’d be traveling to Noxus once you joined the family business.
The future didn’t look prime for you and Viktor.
Arms encircled you, secure and warm in the room of glass.
“I am yours,” his face was set and calm in the effort to assure you without having to give you any grand speeches, “entirely and unconditionally.”
******
Entirely and unconditionally swam around your mind sweetly for the rest of the day and gave you some reprieve as you entertained your parents even though you and Viktor were supposed to be the guests. Instead of feeling as if it were the other way around, you were the one up in front of the couches by the grand fireplace telling them stories about school and from books much to your parent’s delight.
Animated gestures and vocal cues made their faces lighten up with a childish glee even when Viktor would chime in on your stories from where he sat in the overly ornate armchair. Despite having your parents there, it was nice to relive your memories from the academy with Viktor.
“Do you have any stories from the Kiraman labs?” Your mother leaned forward on her elbows as you turned the events of your lab over, organizing your thoughts to see if there were any comical stories.
“Not many involving me, but there have been a few explosions here and there from the other researchers,” your eyes glued to an ugly wall decoration across the room as you thought over it. “Well I was working on a project recently and the whole thing fell over into a mess of parts and gears.”
You went on to tell them how that day had been an inventor’s disaster and you were at your wits end with the way your projects had been going and you detailed the whirlwind that was your office. It got to the part where you bumped into an old classmate that kindly assisted you with repairing your project, helping you progress with it further than you had before if ever fell.
“So you do have friends,” your father jested.
For some reason it made you uncomfortable to think of it that way especially when you kept Jayce’s name out of it, “no we were just classmates a long time ago.”
“But they remembered you anyways, must’ve been a memorable class,” your father let out a blubbering chuckle. “Who was it anyways?”
Your neck felt cool from sweat and you regretted finishing the story, wishing you had left it after the part where you stormed away from the fallen project, “It doesn’t matter. No one important.”
“Oh come now,” he leaned back in his seat and blew out a thick cloud from his pipe. “Worried I might know their parents like when you were a child?”
     “No it’s just he-”
“A gentleman!” Your mother chimed in like you were all playing a guessing game.
“And he works at the Kiraman labs, dear,” your father chattered away with guesses with your mother as you rolled your eyes, grinning uncomfortably at Viktor, “must be from a prominent family.”
“Wrong again,” you teased knowing full well Jayce was from a lower house like you, but it was not as full of grandeur and prestige as your father was imagining.
“Well play fair then, give us some decent clues,” your mother was all smiles and you managed to mirror her enthusiasm even if it was much calmer in comparison.
You stopped the makeshift game before it really took off, throwing yourself into another story that featured you and Viktor having lunch with Sky during the school trip so long ago. It seemed to satisfy their cravings for drama when part of the story was about a conversation the three of you unwillingly heard from a table over at the restaurant.
Throughout the rest of your social time with your parents, you’d occasionally catch Viktor looking at you with knit brows. It was unusual for him to stare at you like that and you knew it was because you refused to give up Jayce’s name during the storytelling. You hadn’t really told him about that day in the lab aside from having a hard time and he didn’t know who Jayce was at all, as far as you knew, since it seemed their paths had never crossed.
Inevitability gave you fair warning that he was going to ask you about who the mystery classmate was that night when you were back in your room trying to sleep.
Dinner time was easier since your parents had their friends join all of you that evening. This time you weren’t the only one telling stories; now it was your parent’s turn to peacock and entertain. Whether their friends actually cared was another matter since a few of them continued to mutter about business if the room would grow too quiet.
When it was loud with laughter, you had some semblance of privacy being able to talk with Viktor where you were both tucked away at the edge of the crowd. There you could talk about what you were going to do once you were free of this place and back at the academy.
Viktor seemed different, not upset, but tired of being around people who must have been weighing him down from how loud they were. The mystery classmate was in the back of his mind even if he knew it was irrational to worry. Keeping secrets was something he never did to you besides the occasional white lie that he wasn’t tired, he wasn’t in pain, or a new dish you worked hard to make was definitely not burnt. But this felt different in the way you held his hand in reassurance and gave him your full attention when he so much as cleared his throat.
“Relax,” he whispered after you asked him if anything was wrong for the fifth time that evening. It wasn’t a command and more of a sweetly delivered suggestion which put you in some ease, or at least stopped you from asking again.
******
It was left unsaid, all of your shared thoughts over Jayce. You didn’t want to tell him who it was and part of him didn’t really want to know despite the curiosity.
“You know you can be honest with me,” Viktor said more so to the cloth above then directly to you, staring at the velvet canopy of your bed in the near darkness.
You were reading by your dimly warm bedside light when he broke the quiet. Closing the book carefully, you set it aside, “you’re talking about the story… from the lab.”
     His silence was your answer.
“He was just an old classmate,” you leaned back, “I didn’t like my parents prying.”
“I’m sorry, I don’t mean to do the same,” he sighed, “but I know he wasn’t just a classmate.”
Hammering in your chest did nothing for your nerves and you tried to keep your breathing level once you remembered nothing got past Viktor.
     “I didn’t-”
“I know you didn’t cheat,” he laughed a little which put you at ease, “but you have history with him-” you covered his mouth, but he easily freed himself, “and that’s ok. I was just curious.”
Talking helped. From gasps of surprise to laughing about things that were once very painful, Viktor told you about a night years ago where he came to see you late at night before you shared a dorm and before you ever began seeing each other exclusively. You listened wide eyed realizing he never brought it up with you before because he knew it was none of his business. He’d even forgotten about it until the mysterious classmate was brought up and he connected the dots since he knew you never really slept around back then either. There was no room to do so since you used to be attached at the hip even as friends.
“I’m so embarrassed,” you laughed at yourself thinking of that night you had answered the door as a disheveled mess, knowing Jayce had been hiding in the blankets.
Viktor caught his breath after his own bout of laughter at something you said. It felt good to finally let go of the guilt even if he still didn’t ask you who the man was and you were content with keeping it that way.
We should get married, you could’ve sworn you heard him whisper as you were in and out of sleep after what felt like hours of joking around fighting it off.
Rational thought told you marriage was not in your future and you didn’t care much for the idea anyways. The tradition and pressure was an uninviting thought and you itched at the image of your parents weeping for the loss of your status by marrying down. It wasn’t like marriage would make much of a difference in your shared lives anyways.
In the morning you both got up early and left when the fog was still thick across the grass fields and trees. It was a long drive back to the academy and you were ready to return to the dorms and close the curtains on this whole affair of entertaining your parents.

And then I imagined some kind of play or some kind of episode about Cody and Graham acting out Hadestown but with Graham being a version of Orpheus (in this play his name is Atlas) who wants to go down to the underworld to talk about an architectural plan that He has for Hades and thus obtain a job with him and Cody being a version of Eurydice (But his name is Orpheus) who is a musician and dedicates himself to singing to people to cheer them up in difficult times which are the merciless hell.
During the beginning of the first act, we see that Orfeo (Cody) tries to convince Graham (Atlas) that they are both artists who are dreaming something improbable but not impossible.
After Atlas arrives in Hadestown because he had a round trip ticket (which only those selected by Hades could have) the song Chant happens and Atlas realizes that Hades doesn't care about anything as long as continue expanding his empire so he takes his plans with him and leaves, but not before with a type of threat from Hades on a dying songbird, since while all that was happening, Orpheus had the bad luck to cross paths with Artemis, being mistaken for an animal by her or because she prevented him from hunting an animal by accident.
While he is dying (because Artemis shot him two arrows, one in the leg and the other between the ribs) the Fates accompany him, just like Hermes and it seems that the four of them are angry at Atlas for leaving his brother alone.
In the end Orpheus dies and arrives in Hadestown where Hermes, the Fates and Persephone herself tell him what it is like to live there (this happens in Way down Hadestown), at the end of the song Orpheus meets Hades and he recognizes him as the brother from the mortal who dared to call him “Greedy” so he thinks about using that to his advantage (also use Chant II for the way Hades offers Orpheus a deal) the workers tell Orpheus to offer Hades something that He cannot refuse but that it benefits him, but Persephone tells him to be careful with Hades and tells him a little about his story. In the end, Orpheus offers Hades (through a song unrelated to the musical) to be his company in the underworld. while Persephone is not with him and also entertain Persephone when she is there, Hades accepts and the Way down Hadestown reprise happens.
While all this was happening, Atlas finally arrives where they told him they last saw Orpheus and meets Hermes, Wait for me happens there and Atlas reaches the underworld again.
The truth is I'm not sure how it developed but Chant reprise ends up happening but this time it's Hades talking to Atlas and not Orpheus (although it seems like it is).
In the end, Hades and Persephone end up talking about Orpheus and that they should let him go, since despite everything Hades has grown fond of Orpheus seeing him as a young and hopeful version of himself, Hades agrees to let them go but in the same way that I accept that Orpheus and Eurydice left Hadestown, Orpheus is confident that his story will be different from theirs but Atlas is afraid because he has heard this story millions of times and he knows that no matter how hard Orpheus tries to change the ending, he (you and I) know how it ends.
And in fact, everything happens like in the end of the musical, but before the road to hell reprise plays, Atlas sings another song (unrelated to the musical) and after that follows Hermes and then the final song of Persephone where they talk about Orpheus and they hope that I can at least remember them when they get to the underworld too, and the end is the same.

Imagine if Tom gets offered a role for an historical/fantasy movie which is something he usually would never do but then he overhears Parker talking about that they are doing that movie and that she is so excited about it because it’s based on one of her favorite books sooo obviously Tom accepts the role then
"Babe, have you ever read Nosferatu?"
"Um, of course I have," Parker chirped from the kitchen counter as if that had been a stupid question. Probably, considering how many books she read on a monthly basis, but to his credit, Tom had never heard of it before the script was sent over to his agent. "I think that's the original vampire."
"I thought Dracula was the original vampire," he said, peering up from the ipad in his hand. The script itself was dark and depressing, and he'd never even considered a horror movie before. Though it was well written, he wasn't sure it was him.
"Bran Stoker wrote Dracula in the the 1890s, but Nosferatu was the first on screen adaption. I think," she paused in cutting her limes as her brows furrowed thoughtfully. "I'm pretty sure it was unofficial though. Like, they didn't have permission to adapt it, they just... did."
He glanced down at the script. "Huh."
"Why?"
Tom shrugged. "Robert Eggers is remaking it," he said, and though he was usually tuned in to what Parker was doing, his attention diverted as he scrolled to the next page. "Paul sent over a script. He thought—"
There was a hellish sound from the kitchen and a scream, and he jerked up in surprise to find Parker standing in front of the blender, covered in ice and lime, hair dripping wet. Yet, she didn't seem to even notice that the blender's lid was sitting beside her, definitely not where it was supposed to be to prevent accidents like that from happening.
"What happened?" Tom cried.
But she only blinked at him. "Are you saying you're going to be in a Nosferatu remake?" she asked with wide eyes.
He glanced at the ipad. "Uh... yeah. I told Paul that I wanted the part. You think it's a good idea?"
"Are you kidding?" she cried, completely forgetting that she was covered in margarita mix as she bounded over towards Tom. She jumped into his lap with a grin, and his ipad clattered to the floor from the force of her enthusiasm. "That's amazing! Oh my god. And directed by Eggers? Babe! It's going to be so good! The Northman was fucking brilliant! And Anya Taylor-Joy in the Witch? That pretty much got her started!"
"Yeah, but, it's only a small part—"
"So?" she cried as she smacked him excitedly in the chest. "You're going to do a period piece! A horror film! Oh my god where are they filming? You might get to go to Transylvania! You'll have to send me so many pictures! Oh, and souvenirs! You know you can tour Bran Stoker's castle?"
Tom caught her hands, laughing. Never before had someone been so selfishly happy for him that they didn't even consider themselves. "I had no idea you would care so much. I thought you'd be upset I'd have to go."
"Upset?" she echoed. "Why would I be upset? This is huge for you!"
She pounded his chest a second time, and Tom laughed as her excitement became infectious. "Alright, alright! Christ. You're going to stain the couch."
"Oh, whatever. We can buy a new one."
"We?"
"Well," she hedged, smiling. "You can."
Tom shook his head at her, but she was right. He could just buy a new couch. His heart swelled as he took her in; covered in shit, dripping, and not caring one bit for the material things she was threatening to ruin. All she saw was him. "When I get the schedule we can buy you some tickets."
"Tickets?"
"To visit," he said, brushing some wet hair out of her face. "You think I'd want to visit Stoker's castle alone? It could be haunted. I think I'll need you there with me."
Her face threatened to split in two. "Really?"
"Really. Just, you know, shower first."
Parker's mouth peeled open in laughter, and she when she kissed him, he could taste tequila and lime on her lips. She got up eventually though, to change and make their margaritas a second time, and when she stepped out of the room, he dialed his agent.
"Hey, Paul... yeah, listen, tell Eggers I'm in. I don't even care how much he'll pay me, I'll do it."
---
Not exactly her favorite book, but inspiration struck for this literally because I saw the Nosferatu trailer on Sunday and am still thinking about it. If you haven't checked it out, youtube that bitch right now!!!!
Thanks for the ask!

We had a guy running for state treasurer a while back, and his whole deal was he Could Do Math (crazy, right?). At a debate he was explaining how much bullshit there is in the growing nanny state, and how they wanted to surveil things to make money, not prevent crime. He did the math on traffic cameras, because the proponents of them wanted to have them give you a fine and also points on your license, and claimed they would make the roads so much safer. He was like yeah, the roads will be safer because they're empty, because if these generate the revenue you say they will, the number of points they put on everyone's licenses will mean a significant portion of the population will get their license suspended. So they just... dropped the points part of the proposal. It was never about deterring unsafe driving - it was about making money. It also turns out they cause more accidents at the intersections that have them 🙃
This same thing goes for stuff like sugary drink taxes. "It's for public health and also it'll fund schools". If it's for public health, then the idea is to make people drink less soda, right? But if they do, how are you going to fund school? They know it sounds plausible and they also know it won't work, so they can just monetize the population by making more things into minor crimes/unpopular vices and fining/taxing them forever.
It doesn't surprise me at all that they make more money off of parking tickets than they do from the meters themselves. That's why a lot of cities have asinine laws where you can't feed the meter. Allegedly it's because you need to free up the space, but why does the city care who's parked there as long as it's paid for? They'd rather create a whole new crime to fine people for, because that makes them more money than another half hour on the meter.
It drives me insane how many people dont realise how often they break the law and that if the full force of it was ever applied life would basically be unliveable. Like between traffic violations, petty workplace theft, account sharing and piracy alongside how common it is to have been in posession of some illegal drug at some point in your life. People still manage to get away with thinking "criminals" are people who commit crimes not just populations that are surveilled enough to be routinely prosecuted

Understanding the basics of car rental in Singapore involves familiarizing yourself with the different types of rental agreements, the range of available vehicles, and the key factors that influence rental prices. Most rental companies offer a variety of vehicles, from compact cars to luxury sedans, and understanding the rental terms, insurance options, and deposit requirements will help you make an informed decision.
Choosing the Right Vehicle for Your Needs in Car Rental in Singapore
When opting for car rental in Singapore, choosing the right vehicle is crucial to ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience. Depending on your needs—whether you’re planning a family vacation, a business trip, or a solo adventure—you might require different types of vehicles. For a family, a spacious SUV or MPV might be ideal, while a compact car could be more suitable for solo travelers or couples.
Comparing Car Rental Rates in Singapore
Car rental in Singapore can vary widely in cost, so it’s important to compare rates to get the best deal. Prices may fluctuate based on factors such as the type of vehicle, rental duration, and the time of year. Additionally, different rental companies may offer various promotions or discounts, which can impact overall costs. To get the best value, it’s advisable to book in advance, compare rates from multiple providers, and be aware of any hidden fees or additional charges.
The Best Car Rental in Singapore Companies for a Smooth Experience
Selecting a reputable car rental in Singapore company can greatly enhance your rental experience. Top-rated companies typically offer well-maintained vehicles, transparent pricing, and excellent customer service. Researching and choosing from established companies with positive reviews and reliable service records can make a significant difference. Look for companies that provide clear terms and conditions, easy booking processes, and support services in case of any issues during your rental period.
Understanding Insurance Options for Car Rental in Singapore
Insurance is a crucial aspect of car rental in Singapore, as it provides protection in case of accidents or damage. Most rental companies offer basic insurance coverage as part of the rental agreement, but you may also have the option to purchase additional coverage for extra peace of mind. Understanding what is included in the standard insurance policy and what additional coverage options are available will help you make an informed decision.
Essential Documents Needed for Car Rental in Singapore
When renting a car in Singapore, certain documents are required to complete the process smoothly. Thomas and Friends: Sodor Online Journeys, Starring Blue Train with Friends (Story 27): Mrs. Kyndley's Christmas
It was almost time for Christmas. Annie and Clarabel were packed full of people and parcels. Thomas was having very hard work. "Come on! Come on!" he puffed. "We're feeling so full!" grumbled the coaches. Thomas looked at the hill ahead. "Can I do it? Can I do it?" he puffed anxiously. Then to his surprise, he saw a handkerchief waving from a cottage window. Thomas felt better at once. "Yes I can, yes I can," he puffed bravely. He pulled his hardest, and was soon through the tunnel and resting at the next station.
"That was Mrs. Kyndley who waved to you, Thomas," his Driver told him. "She has to stay in bed all day." "Poor lady," said Thomas, "I feel sorry for her."
Engines have heavy loads during Christmas time, but Thomas and Toby didn't mind when they saw Mrs. Kyndley waving.
But then it began to rain. It rained for days and days. Thomas didn't like it, nor did his Driver. "Off we go Thomas!" he would say. "Pull hard and get home quickly; Mrs. Kyndley won't wave today."
But whether she waved or not, they always whistled when they passed the little lonely cottage. Its white walls stood out against the dark background of the hills. "Hello!" exclaimed Thomas's Fireman. "Look at that!" The Driver came across the cab. "Something's wrong there," he said. Hanging flapping and bedraggled from a window of the cottage was something that looked like a large red flag. "Mrs. Kyndley needs help I expect," said the Driver, and put on the brakes. Thomas gently stopped. The Guard/Conductor came squelching through the rain up to Thomas's cab, and the Driver pointed to the flag. "See if a Doctor's on the train and ask him to go to the cottage; then walk back to the station and tell them we've stopped."
The Fireman went to see if the line was clear in front. Two passengers left the train and climbed to the cottage. Then the Fireman returned. "We'll back down to the station," said the Driver, "so that Thomas can get a good start." "We shan't get up the hill," the Fireman answered. "Come and see what's happened!" They walked along the line and round the bend. "Jiminy Christmas!" he exclaimed, "go back to the train; I'm going to the cottage."
He found the Doctor with Mrs. Kyndley. "Silly of me to faint," she said. "You saw the red dressing-gown? You're all safe?" asked Mrs. Kyndley. "Yes," smiled the Driver, "I've come to thank you. There was a landslide in the cutting, Doctor, and Mrs. Kyndley saw it from her window and stopped us. She's saved our lives!" "God bless you, ma'am," said the Driver, and tiptoed from the room.
They cleared the line by Christmas Morning, and the sun shone as a special train puffed up from the junction. First came Toby, then Thomas with Annie and Clarabel, and last of all, was Henrietta. The Fat Controller/Sir Topham Hatt was there, and lots of other people who wanted to say "Thank you" to Mrs. Kyndley. "Peep! Peep! Happy Christmas! whistled the engines as they reached the place. The people got out and climbed to the cottage. Thomas and Toby wished they could go too.
Mrs. Kyndley's husband met them at the door. The Fat Controller/Sir Topham Hatt, Thomas's Driver, Fireman, and The Guard/Conductor went upstairs, while the others stood in the sunshine below the window.
The Driver gave her a new dressing-gown to replace the red one spoilt by the rain. The Guard/Conductor brought her some grapes, and the Fireman gave her some woolly slippers, and promised to bring some coal as a present from Thomas, next time they passed.
Mrs. Kyndley was very pleased with her presents. "You are very good to me," she said. "The passengers and I," said the Fat Controller/Sir Topham Hatt, "hope you will accept these tickets for the South Coast, Mrs. Kyndley, and get really well in the sunshine. We cannot thank you enough for preventing that accident. I hope we haven't tired you. Goodbye, and a happy Christmas."
Then going quietly downstairs, they joined the group outside the window, and sang some carols before returning to the train.
Mrs. Kyndley is now at Bournemouth, getting better every day, and Thomas and Toby are looking forward to the time when they can welcome her home.

How can you learn to drive smart?
Tumblr media
Driving is a necessary task that millions of people worldwide take for granted every day. But as our world becomes increasingly complex, so too does driving. And because we rely on cars to get us to and from work, school, and other important places, we must learn to drive smart. In this article, we will teach you the basics of driving smart so that you can stay safe on the roads. From learning how to anticipate traffic jams to staying aware of your surroundings at all times, we’ll have you well on your way to being a safe driver.
The Basics of Driving
There are a few things you need to know before you can start learning to drive. First, you need to get your driver’s license. Then, you will need to download and install the MyDriving Skills app from the App Store or Google Play store. This app is designed to help you learn how to drive smart. With it, you can access interactive driving exercises that will help you practice your skills. You can also join online communities that focus on different aspects of driving, such as defensive driving or traffic safety. Finally, attend a driver training class accredited by the National Safety Council (NSC). This will give you the best chance of becoming a safe driver.
Defensive Driving
To become a good driver, you need to be aware of the dangers on the road. Defensive driving can help you stay safe while behind the wheel. Here are some tips for defensive driving:
· Follow all traffic laws: When driving, always obey all traffic laws. This includes obeying stop signs and lights, staying in your lane, and not cutting in line. Failing to obey these rules could lead to a ticket or worse.
· Obey signals: Always watch for the green light when approaching a stoplight or traffic signal. Stop at the yellow light if it is clear, but do not wait until the red light flashes before stopping. This will let other drivers know that you intend to stop and may cause them to brake too soon.
· Signal your turns: When making a turn, always use a signal. This will let other drivers know your direction and allow them time to avoid getting hit by your car. Make sure your turn signals work and are visible from both directions before turning.
· Use headlights when necessary: Driving at night can be dangerous, so always use your headlights when it is dark outside. If you have to drive during daylight hours, use your high beams only when necessary and keep your eyes focused on the road ahead.
· Stay alert: It is important to stay alert while driving, no matter how tired you are. Be particularly careful near intersections and busy roads or highways where there may be more traffic. If you need to take a break from driving, pull over to a safe location and wait until you feel more alert.
Learning to Drive Safely on the Road
Learning to drive safely on the road can seem daunting, but with some preparation and practice, it can be a breeze. Here are some tips for becoming a smart driver:
1. Familiarize yourself with the rules of the road. Most states have specific rules about when and where you can drive, so it’s important to know what they are before you go on the road. Pay attention to signage and avoid driving in areas designated as no-drives zones.
2. Practice makes perfect. If you want to be a good driver, you need to practice! Take your driving skills for a test drive and see how well you do in different situations. This will help you develop reflexes and improve your overall driving ability.
3. Stay focused on the task at hand. When you’re behind the wheel, don’t get caught up in daydreaming or looking at other drivers – keep your eyes forward and focus on the road! This will help prevent accidents and save you time and money later.
4. Follow all traffic signals properly. When approaching intersections or turning corners, always obey all traffic signals – even if they seem confusing at first glance! This will keep you safe and save other drivers time and hassle.
What can you do to improve your driving skills?
If you're looking to improve your driving skills, there are a few things you can do. First, make sure to practice regularly. Driving is a skill that can be improved with practice, so take the time to get out there and drive safely.Another way to improve your driving skills is to review your driving record. Look for any incidents or accidents involving your vehicle, and see if you could have done anything differently to avoid them. Reviewing your records lets you learn what mistakes you're most likely to make and how to avoid them. Finally, remember that driving smart isn't only about following traffic laws. It's also about being alert and aware of your surroundings. Stay focused on the road ahead, and don't take shortcuts that could put you at risk. Using these tips, you can learn how to drive smart and stay safe on the roads.
Conclusion
Driving smart is about being aware of your surroundings and making the most informed decisions when you get behind the wheel. By following these simple tips, you can ensure that you are driving safely and efficiently, no matter how much experience you have behind the wheel. Remember always to wear a seatbelt, use your mirrors and keep an eye out for pedestrians – by doing these things; you will be able to stay safe while driving and learn how to drive smart at the same time! Thank you for reading! We hope our articles on topics like these have provided some helpful insights into what might be helpful when it comes to styling or living a healthier lifestyle. If there is anything else we can do to assist, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Auto Glass - What You Should Know
This is the glass you would find in your car. There are two main types of auto glass. Each type is used for specific windows on an automobile. Both types of autoglass are stronger and more resistant to impact than regular glass. These are the two types:
Tumblr media
* Laminated safety glasses-This glass is used to cover a windshield on a car. It is made up of several pieces of glass with a thin layer of vinyl. The glass is heated up and then pressed together in an oven called an autoclave. Glass will also shatter if it is subject to a hard impact, but the pieces that do break will usually stick to the vinyl and not go on the ground. Benny Auto Glass-New
* Tempered glass-This type of glass is used on the rear and side windows. Tempered glass is made by a special process. It is heated, then quickly cooled. It will shatter if it is subjected to a strong impact and then fall to the ground in small pieces. They don't have sharp edges like regular broken glass.
Auto glass can become damaged in an accident. However, auto glass may also need to be replaced if there are other circumstances. For example, gravel from the road may cause tiny cracks or veins in the windshield. Over time, the tiny vein could grow larger due to truck vibrations. In some states, driving with damaged glass is a crime that could result in a ticket.
It is now easy to have your windshield replaced. Instead of making an appointment to bring your car to the auto glass shop, professional auto glass installers can come to your home or business to replace the windshield. They will remove the molding, cowl, and wipers and then lift the windshield out. Before they can install the windshield, they may need to remove any adhesive. After everything has been cleaned, the professional will apply new adhesive to the channel that holds the windshield in place. The replacement windshield will be installed after this is completed. The cowl, wipers and molding are then put back. The job was completed in sixty minutes.
The auto glass professional might be able repair a small vein or nick in the windshield to prevent it from getting worse. It will usually take less than 30 minutes to complete the repair. After the nick or vein is removed, it is dried thoroughly. The resin is injected, and Mylar is used for its hold. An ultraviolet light is used to cure the resin.

Common Driving Violations and How to Avoid Them
Tumblr media
Distracted driving is a dangerous and increasingly common habit among drivers. A major distraction while driving can be using your cell phone, which includes texting, talking, or checking apps. This can lead to serious accidents and injuries if you are not paying full attention to the road ahead of you. To ensure your safety and the safety of others on the road, it is important that you refrain from any activities that could potentially distract you from focusing on driving.
Speeding is another common violation that can put everyone's lives at risk. It is especially hazardous when roads are wet or icy, as this reduces traction between tires and pavement and increases the distance needed for vehicles to stop safely. To avoid speeding violations, obey posted speed limits and adjust your speed to match the flow of traffic. It’s also a good idea to give yourself extra time when driving so that you are not rushed.
In addition, keep an eye out for road signs and be aware of changes in the speed limit as you drive. Failure to signal before changing lanes or making turns is another common violation that can lead to serious accidents if other drivers are not aware of your intentions. Make sure to always let other drivers know what you’re doing by signaling before turning or switching lanes.
Driving laws exist to keep everyone safe on the roads. Unsafe driving can endanger not only yourself but also other drivers, pedestrians, and property. That's why it's so important to avoid common driving violations. Here are some of the most common violations and how to avoid them:
1. Speeding - Driving over the speed limit is dangerous and increases your chances of being involved in an accident. To avoid speeding, make sure you know the speed limit for any road that you drive on before you start driving and stick to it throughout your journey.
2. Running Red Lights - Running a red light puts both yourself and others at risk, as it can cause a collision. The best way to prevent running a red light is to never drive too close to the car in front of you. Give yourself enough space so that if someone ahead of you breaks the traffic light, you can stop in time.
3. Distracted Driving - Distractions behind the wheel are dangerous and can cause accidents. To avoid distractions, keep your phone out of sight and on silent mode while driving or put it away completely. Also, try not to eat or drink while driving as these activities can be distracting as well.
It’s important that you stay alert and focused while driving. Don’t drink and drive, don't use drugs and drive, and avoid any activities that could take away from your attention while driving. By following these simple rules, you can help to ensure the safety of everyone on the road.
When you’re pulled over for a traffic violation, the consequences can be serious. It's important to get help from an experienced traffic lawyer if you have been charged with any traffic violation. They will help you understand your rights and work toward getting the best outcome possible for your case. A traffic lawyer can explain which violations carry points or other punishments, determine how much you will need to pay for fines, and even challenge tickets that are issued unfairly.
Depending on the situation, they might also be able to reduce charges or dismiss them altogether. No matter what kind of traffic violation you face, working with a traffic attorney is always recommended. They will provide legal guidance and support during this difficult time so that you can avoid hefty fines and possibly even jail time. Be sure to find an experienced traffic lawyer Melbourne who can help you protect your rights and fight for the best possible outcome.
If you’ve been charged with a traffic violation, don’t hesitate - talk to a traffic lawyer right away! They will provide expert advice and guidance that can make all the difference when it comes to protecting yourself from costly fines or jail time. Investing in a traffic attorney is well worth it because they will fight on your behalf and ensure that you get the best result possible.

Okay so. It all starts with: one of my migraine preventatives gives me insomnia. Which can get pretty bad especially when combined with, you know, the migraine. I've tried to go off of it, but the pain was so bad that I decided to just deal with it and try going off again when I get my second round of Botox, or third, or when I get to go on one of the monoclonal antibodies. You get the idea. Surely ONE of those things has to be good enough that I don't need to keep taking insomnia juice especially considering I am ALSO on beta blockers like give me a fucking break.
So with the insomnia and no real schedule I need to stick to, my sleep schedule has gotten progressively more and more fucked, but yesterday was still for sure an outlier. I slept for an hour and 40 minutes from like, 3am to 4:30? I had a nightmare and didn't want to go back to sleep, and I wasn't really tired until 8 or 9, by which point I was like, MCR tickets go on sale at 10am, I might as well just stay awake for that. So I do. At which point my headache is getting worse bc of the whole sleep thing, and also, I'm super hungry (like I literally ate dinner idk what more you want from me body) but also incredibly nauseous, I keep taking bites of a granola bar and then gagging, and I eventually throw out the granola bar bc FUCK YOU if you're gonna be like that. So I've resigned myself to my suffering.
Anyways, I get good luck with concert tickets for literally the first time in my life, take a moment to reflect on how expensive event tickets have ALL gotten post-Covid like give me a break?? Take a zofran and go back to bed. I don't quite sleep for 3 hours, but it's the longest chunk of sleep I get that day, so when I go to my sleep in the Fitbit app it shows me that I slept from 10am to like, 2. Great. Okay. I'm just nocturnal now, I guess.
My head felt better after I slept (which is good bc naps are very hit or miss) and I wasn't nauseous anymore. Thank you zofran. I do accidentally cut myself making lunch and it hurts and is probably the worst cut I've ever gotten but whatever. That's a low bar, I've lived a relatively accident-free life. I have to take time to clean it and all that which is annoying but the pain is a distraction from the head pain, so that's a little bit nice (this is where I'm at in life). I eat lunch (thank you zofran). I do some other stuff, probably, I mainly remember looking at my ao3 marked for later, realizing it was 45 pages long, and going "goddamn, I've got to do something about that." And then reading fic for like an hour.
Approaching dinner time and the nausea must be coming back bc I was Not Hungry. Whatever!! I didn't like zofran anyways. I skipped my insomnia juice dose because I wanted to try to fix my sleep schedule so that's probably not making my head feel great. Fucked up sleep schedules can be a migraine trigger for me too so like, there was no way this was ever going to be a good migraine day, but it was at least short considering it started around 2pm. Around 9pm I agreed to beta a fic, it's really short so I figured I could do it that night even though I haven't taken my adhd meds in days and the migraine is definitely getting worse. Like, no one is going to be mad at me or anything if I say sure let me get to that tomorrow, there's no deadline, I just think I can do it and there's no point putting off things I can do, it's not like I can wait for a pain free day to tackle my to do list. So I read it and make my notes and it does take a bit longer than I expected bc the pain is getting distracting and the general fogginess set in a while ago but I finish it. By the time I finish it's very clear that I need to get to bed like, right now. Actually sooner than that, if at all possible. I stare at my fridge and try to drink a yogurt drink because dinner is good for you. My stomach reminds me that it's NAUSEOUS. How dare I try to feed it right now. Okay sorry!!!! I don't have time for more zofran. I get my ice pack out of the freezer, which is making weird noises. I stare at it for a while and think about putting in a maintenance request. Do I look like someone who knows anything about freezers. I don't like those noises but like. Not my problem right now. Except for the fact that my ice pack could definitely be colder, that kind of is my problem right now.
The really cool thing about daily migraines is that there are exactly two rescue medications you can take more than three times a week. Most you can only take twice. A fun fact about me is I've tried both of those medications, and they don't really work for me. Nurtec is an okay chaser for residual photophobia but on its own? It's not going to help for most of my migraines. And, according to the receipt on the box I got a few days ago, 8 pills costs $1206 before insurance, so it's not easy to get ahold of. So when my migraine starts to get bad past like, 4pm, I'm not going to waste a dose of something that could potentially make me feel better for a full day on like 6 hours. I'm just going to take Benadryl and go to bed early. Sleeping for the night usually reduces my pain levels. I don't know why the Benadryl works, all I know is I got IV Benadryl once and woke up feeling so much better it was suspicious, and other sleep aids don't do that, and my neurologist said it was fine to keep taking it. When I try to sleep off a bad migraine without Benadryl, it sometimes works, but sometimes the migraine just wakes me up in the middle of the night when it gets worse, so when it's Bad, I always take Benadryl. I haven't had to do that as frequently lately! Which is nice. Thanks Botox. Benadryl is also supposed to help with nausea (one of the reasons it's in migraine cocktails) and I kind of feel like I might throw up for real when I stand up so that would be nice (my migraines make me nauseous on occasion but like. Actually thinking I might throw up is not very common. I haven't thrown up from a migraine in like 11 years, and that was because it made me motion sick and I wasn't able to get out of the moving vehicle).
I have a green light setup in my bedroom that's a lot more comfortable on my eyes, but when the migraine is really bad, it's still too much. So I turn on a podfic and my screen reader and put a blanket over my head and close my eyes. I took one Benadryl, I wasn't sure if I'd need two. I wait half an hour or so and listen to my fic and decide I'll need two so I take another. Eventually I get sleepy enough that I pause the podfic (one of the things I know how to do with a screenreader!) and fall asleep. Which is great. I love not being awake.
It's completely dark when I wake up, which is not good, because I should have slept until at least dawn, and I'm also in excruciating pain, which is bad. Welp. I've never been woken up by a migraine through the Benadryl before. I don't always sleep through the full night, the various insomnia juices I've been on could get pretty powerful, and I don't always wake up feeling better, but being woken up in the middle of the night by a migraine is a different thing than waking up in the middle of the night and happening to also have a migraine. You know?
At this point there's nothing to do but take a rescue medication, I'm not going to be able to fall back asleep with this kind of pain and it's not even 2am yet and also: this is probably the worst pain I've experienced in at least a month and I would like it to STOP. I'm just weird like that! I experience pain and would like to Not. I think about my life choices (taking my last sumatriptan injection a few days ago when it would have been really nice to take now, I really don't want to hang around for an hour waiting for the pills to kick in). I keep a bottle of diclofenac on my bedside table for midnight snack situations like this. You’re not supposed to take diclofenac on an empty stomach but I had half a bottle of yogurt drink 4 hours ago which totally counts because at my current pain level I'm not really capable of conscious thought, I'm pretty proud of myself for managing to read the label on the pill bottle to check that I'm taking the right thing. Also I'm not at much of a risk of GI bleeds anyways, like, there's always some level of that risk with NSAIDs, but mine is overall very low and I am not going to the kitchen for a granola bar, I feel sick and I am in so much pain that I will die if I move and I remember what happened last time I tried to eat a granola bar. So whatever! This really would be the perfect time to do an injection but I don't have one. My pills are in my tummy now. Yum.
I lie awake thinking for a while about how I'm in so much pain and wondering where it all went wrong. Probably when my nervous system first developed in the womb, though the nocturnal sleep schedule for a day probably didn't help. I think about how much pain I'm in. I think about how I really need to refill that sumatriptan injection prescription. I think about IV toradol. Or IV DHE. Or IV prednisone. Or idk. IV something. Anything that isn't going to have to go all the way through my digestive system before it kicks in. I very bravely unlock my phone to put the diclofenac into my migraine tracker, even though that's complicated enough that I have to turn off my screen reader and look at the screen with my real eyes.
Anyways. The diclofenac must have kicked in at some point, but I don't remember it. Midnight snack diclofenac is funny like that because I generally fall asleep when it kicks in so I never actually feel it do anything. I just lie there thinking about how much it hurts and how the drugs will never work and then when they start to work, I fall asleep, so I never feel them fully work. Sorry for ignoring your hard work, drugs.
I woke up again at a normal time with the usual headache and some extra residual eye hurty. I feel tired but not nauseous anymore, thank god. I took some nurtec, it helped, I'm thinking of following up with some Tylenol. Breakfast might help. I kind of want to fall asleep again, which also might help. Wow. Yesterday sucked. WOW. I did not deserve that. Holy shit. And I'm supposed to just get out of bed. And be normal. Someone should be bringing me bacon and chocolate chip pancakes right now!! I shouldn't have to make that myself if I want bacon and chocolate chip pancakes!! I already took my adhd meds but I feel like I can sleep anyways. Which I think I'll probably do even though breakfast should be higher on my priority list. Good night. Ow
Ok this is just going to be a rambling thing of self pity but after the night I've had I really deserve one of those so... I'm going to put it in a rb so it doesn't show up in the actual tags but I'm fucking complaining and you can't stop me
