it breaks my heart that jesse had to leave everyone he’s ever known but i do think it was necessary. jesse craves love and validation on account of always having been told he’s a fuckup, worthless junkie, flunking student, etc, so he had a tendency to latch onto people he thinks can give him that love and validation. he’s a follower. he rarely acts with real agency and when he does he doesn’t know what to do with it. as lonely as scary as his total reset might seem, i think the total reset of an open empty road - empty of people to follow, validation to seek, expectations to meet - might be what finally forces him to find real agency, make his life his own, and become the genuinely good person he’s always had the capacity to be. once he’s done that he’ll be in a place to settle down again and find a family.
