ok so I've accumulated a pretty decent list of danmei that aren't as well known and I want to talk about them!! so here we go! these aren't in any particular order btw

Nan Chan

an aloof, listless immortal and a very hungry caterpillar fish demon go on an adventure to retrieve a runaway bell 🔔. and also they both have amnesia. CUE ANGSTY BACKSTORY REVEAL!!!! 🔪🔪🔪

I'm sure it's to no ones surprise that this is first because I'm a SLUT for nan chan. if nan chan has one fan it is ME and if there r no fans I am DEAD!! I love this novel so much it has the perfect combination of painful angst and sweet sweet lovin' !! the main couple's relationship makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside 🥺👉👈 (probably because I am a touch love language girly and these bitches be touching!!!) and I LOVE the characters sm. especially my little meow meow Jing Lin and his adorable little stone figure. I live for the interactions between Cang Ji and the stone figure! it may be a little difficult to read the first time around since the plot gets a little convoluted but it all makes sense in the end! 10/10 really recommend!!

How to Survive as a Villain

transmigration plot! rich ceo gets transported to a novel as the villain emperor and gets buddy buddy with the novel's MC so he doesn't get killed. ends up buddying too close to the sun and accidentally becomes the leading lady. drama ensues!

this is another favorite of mine!! this one is another good mix of angst and romance and the MC is so funny and likeable. there are also two cute side couples which is always fun! (one of them is f/f so it gets extra brownie points with me🤭) its also not too complicated which makes it great for casual reading ^^ p.s. this one has an official eng tl now! its being published thru rosmei (like nanchan) so it has to be ordered thru a 3rd party distributor but I think its worth reading 👀

Living to Suffer/ Till Death Do Us Part

living to suffer: ancient wuxia style prequel where the characters meet as a humble doctor and member of a demonic sect and their fate intertwines. this one has a BE

till death do us part: early to mid 1900s setting sequel. the reincarnated characters meet again as a elementary school teacher and rich playboy and face the struggles of having a relationship. this one has a bittersweet ending

THIS...... OK THESE NOVELS... let me tell you something. this made me SOB. oh my god especially the ending of TDDUP. I saw a review saying "I honestly could believe there lived a Shen Liangsheng and a Ch'in Ching, and that they fell in love..." and hard agree because something about this story felt so real?? which made it all the more intriguing and heartbreaking!! its set around the time of the japanese invasion of china and the cultural revolution so it does talk a lot about politics but it wasn't a difficult read imo. BUT BE WARNED! there is a LOT of smut. (not rly vanilla either..) and the relationship does get pretty toxic at times 😬 but it gets better by the end of the book and the toxicity actually does add to the story and character development. if u give it a try please read the prequel (living to suffer) first!

After Being Forced to Marry the Evil Star General

a deputy prime minister MC who's powerful, high-maintenance, and hated by the public is arranged to marry a laid-back general who is much loved and praised (but also rumored to be cursed!). this is an arranged marriage + enemies to lovers novel

I'm actually in the middle of rereading this one rn 👀. I think this one is also good for casual reading since it isn't very complicated. in the beginning the interactions between the main couple r rly funny because they just clash all day long lol. its also got a little angst sprinkled in 😎👍 I did see some reviews saying that the MC is not likeable since he does some kinda bad things and he's stuck up but I still liked him idk 😭 I feel like his flaws made him more interesting

Married Thrice to Salted Fish

a doctor MC who only wishes to study medicine (and poison oop) gets arranged to marry a guy whos dying. turns out that guy has been taken over by a transmigrator! transmigrator ML then proceeds to die and come back as someone else.. more than once 😭

if you love a couple that schemes together then this is the novel for you! the MC in this book kinda reminds me of the MC from the book I mentioned right above. (these titles too long man 😅) I found the repeated "reincarnation" plot to be pretty interesting. the interactions between the couple were pretty amusing as well and since the ML is from modern times he randomly uses modern slang. MC even picks some lingo up from him loll

Xiao Jiu

about a 9th prince MC whos trying to win the heart of the emperor's cold and aloof bodyguard! call him the prince of rizz because it works eventually 😎 this is an age gap romance with a smidge of angst and political drama

this a short and sweet story! the ML is described as cold a lot but he actually becomes rly sweet and warm later on so he isn't one of those stone faced characters. I don't have much else to say about this besides "its cute, I like it" 😅

Guanshan Muyu

wife-chasing crematorium story! it's about a outlaw MC who's kidnapped by the very guy who betrayed him. ML wants to win MC's heart back but issues from the past cause a bunch of misunderstandings :( but it is a happy ending!!

man.... I haven't read a wife-chasing crematorium story before this and I was not prepared for the amount of ANGST. basically everyone is miserable for the entire damn time! 😭😭😭 but that's not to say it wasn't a good story!! all the suffering made the ending feel even sweeter 🥰 if you cry easily maybe keep a pack of tissues on hand when you read this 😂

It’s Not Easy Being a Master

transmigrator becomes the villainous shizun in a novel he read and attempts to avoid a bad ending but *gasp* the novels MC (ML) has been reborn with all the past memories!! MC tries to get close to ML while ML is like wtf is going on ! seems like a typical "transmigrated as a villain" type plot until suddenly it's not... 👀👀

this one was rly fun! there's a big plot twist that I found rly interesting and unique! very fresh!! fresh produce!! 🥒🫑🥕🍅 I also like the MC a lot he had a rly silly personality hehe. I think this novel is good for people who like solving mysteries alongside the characters since a lot of hints are dropped throughout

Golden Stage/ Terrace

arranged marriage between a court dog and a general who's become phsyically disabled. everyone knows that the two HATE each other... but do they really? 👀 no, it's not an enemies to lovers, but the other characters seem to think so! 🤭

great novel!! very good!! I love the dynamic between the main couple! they love to banter so their interactions are entertaining. there's a bit of political plot but it's nothing too complicated and the angst is minimal. I also like that one of the main characters is a ambulatory wheelchair user. this one also has a official eng tl now but I'm not sure from which publishing house

Sharing Rain and Dew

MC whos staying in the palace dies a painful death but then gets reborn several months in the past. he spends his time stressing about his impending death but for some reason the Emperor has suddenly become super clingy and doting

this one is very very short, only 5 chapters + 3 extras, but it's quite funny and cute. despite being so short the story is actually pretty interesting? good for a quick, casual read

I like greaser but I see him with blue and purple hair and I don't understand if these are two different characters or is it just a old design and if so then which one is old one and which is current. so this disparity is just based on a difference in stories, where one is a greaser au for undertale and the other is an original universe and story by @loverofpiggies (hey girly i'm alive i hope ur doing so well!!❤️)

initially, the blue-haired greaser was born through a series of extremely unhinged roleplays in which, from what I remember, he walked into the scene and immediately attempted to seduce CQ's character; everyone knows him as the man, the myth, the legend - fresh undertale.

several roleplays and interactions later the purple-haired greaser was born. i was super invested in CQ's webcomic, Lucidia, about a planet of skeletons with some very interesting jobs. the idea of putting blue-haired greaser into the comic had popped up and we both decided that CQ could take the essence of greaser's character, tweak his design/give him a unique backstory, and add him in as a side character: vinegar. or just vinny for short. purple-haired shop owner who sells eyes (and also twin brother to CQ's character chili powder, i believe)

How are you guys feeling about the new twst event, The night before Christmas one, especially your thoughts on the new character!

I’m always excited for the Halloween events, Anon! All of them have been fun so far, and I love events with big groups of characters. Super happy to see Idia participate this year, we miss him a lot… it feels like we haven’t seen him in ages for some reasons. Especially in the same event with Azul and Jade and a lot of other guys!

And the gothic feel of the outfits is great, like super good. I am one of those people who haven’t seen the original movie, but the aesthetics of it are so good and suit the boys very well. Not saying anything about the Jamil card because I’m going to have cardiac arrest if I start thinking about it.

As it always it with us though, it will take some time for us to get to the event and actually watch it – we only watched the last Halloween one this spring. So we probably won’t be able to comment on anything related to the event for quite a while. It’s interesting that this is a “lost in the book” type of event though, but to be honest, I don’t know what to make of it. I hope it’s fun though, it better be.

As for the new character (is it Skully or Skelly?), I talked about him a little bit in this reply, and I don’t have much to add yet. Well, other than now that we see his full design I can tell he is pretty well-balanced. I hope they have a lot of fun with him in live2d sprites.

I think Jade and Floyd were the types of kids who considered all the nannies and private teachers to be their toys. Of course, they are here to take care of them or teach them, but in actuality, they are here for them to entertain themselves. Nice enrichment for horrible kids…

23. What’s the story idea you’ve had in your head for the longest?

Not sure how far back into childhood I should go here, because i've literally been making up my own stories for as long as I can remember... so I think I'll go with the one that's stuck with me all the way until now! It's basically an original idea set in a dystopian future and follows a bunch of adolescents as they rise up against "the system" (yes I know that sounds awfully familiar to the ateez stans here but I had this idea back in like 2015 so if anything they stole from me-) and I did write the full story once but I'm really not happy with how it turned out, plus I want to make a bunch of changes to the story and the characters, so at one point I really hope I manage to write that whole thing again^^

4. Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)

(technically three people asked me about this now, so i'm very tempted to put three scenes here but.... i think the post will get way too long then ajskdfjödlask unless of course... someone asks nicely...? 👉👈 anyway, the scene is under the cut~)

“It can happen,” Yeosang assures you, while the alarm goes off, shaking the whole table as it vibrates, and Wooyoung immediately grabs it and gets up. You’re glad he’s at least being useful in that regard - otherwise you’re not sure why Yeosang brought his friend from an entirely different major along to your café date of hell.

“He insisted,” your teammate tells you upon posing your question. “Actually I don’t know why I brought him either.”

“Excuse me?!” Wooyoung exclaims in offense as he returns with your order, having heard his friend’s reply. But Yeosang is quick to wave it off.

“It’s nothing, don’t worry about it.” To your surprise his loud friend merely sits down while eyeing him with a doubtful expression, but he doesn’t say anything more to that. Finding yourself more fascinated than anything else by their dynamic, you shake your head eventually and redirect your attention to the screen in front of you. 

“I’ll send you the parts so we can go over them together,” you announce as you’re already dropping the files into your kakao chat with Yeosang, the familiar tone coming from the speakers of his laptop signaling an incoming message that tells you he received them quickly. Wooyoung leans in, nosily looking at the files his friend is opening.

“Looks good… if you ignore the formatting,” Yeosang shades, making you chuckle, and Wooyoung lets you hear a loud “Hey!”

“You didn’t do yours any better!” he teases Yeosang, attempting to pinch his side but his friend evades the attack. 

“Personal space,” he just remarks, pushing Wooyoung away with his flat palm against his cheek. Once again you find yourself fascinated by their cartoonish behaviour most of all, but you don’t comment on what just unfolded in front of your eyes. “And also, mine doesn’t look very interesting, but at least it has the correct formatting.”

“Yeah, this professor doesn’t really have an eye for aesthetics,” you add, grinning yet unhappy about the way the paper you were supposed to put together looks overly sterile. “But I guess that’s what science wants.”

“Well, the contents are what matters,” Yeosang adds, this time not defending himself when Wooyoung throws an arm around his shoulders, but you can tell he’s not happy about the pda. With curious eyes he leans in, skimming through the text on Yeosang’s screen, and you give him an annoyed sigh. You really just want to finish this damn project already, before it consumes any more of your nerves. 

“Oh. Sorry,” Wooyoung grins as he notices your distress, moving away from the computer as he straightens his back, and you’re not sure what to make of his reaction. Telling yourself to focus on the problem at hand instead of him, you begin pasting the text into one collective document, while Yeosang starts reading through everything in search of any possible errors.

“Looks good,” he eventually announces, and you agree, having joined him in proofreading everything. 

“You two sure are fast,” Wooyoung comments, and he shoots you a gaze filled with mischief.

“This is the tenth time we read through these, so…” you explain.

“I see… Yeosang here told me about how horrible the others were to work with,” the guy sitting next to your classmate continues.

“You’re also horrible to work with, and you’re not even a part of this,” Yeosang mutters under his breath, causing you to chuckle, and Wooyoung immediately complains.

not @ me putting a wall of text in here, but I'm just really proud of how the bickering between Yeosang and Wooyoung turned out here hehe plus it was a lot of fun to write too^^ this is probably still one of my fav scenes from this fic, and it doesn't even have the guy it's about in it :')

yahiko! for some reason somehow he over took sasuke/itachi but it’s okay cause they’re both revolutionaries. anyways i love him cause he’s one of the very few revolutionaries and his point of view and optimism is very endearing.. he truly believes that the OG akatsuki can change the ninja world and put fighting aside and end needless ninja death and the destruction of smaller countries. his loyalty and belief in nagato and konan is so good i gobble it up every time. also something about the way he haunts konan and nagato to the bone after his death and how they cannot leave him behind is so appealing. the codependencyyyyy 🤌

2. Favourite team

hmm.. if we’re talking in general probably team 8. i think they have really fun abilities that pair together very interestingly and i also rlly like shino. if we’re talking fav team with how they work together then team 10… i feel like they’re the only team that truly works as a team and they’re kinda what everyone wants team 7 every other team to be. inoshikocho are besties and they work together and communicate with each other on what needs to change and what they need from each other really well. they’re kinda winning.

not saying itachi is kinda gonna hurt, but i gotta say pein. as i was saying with answer 1 smth smth nagato/konans grief haunts them and literally follows them around smth smth won’t leave yahiko behind smth smth they can’t have yahiko not be the face of the akatsuki smth smth i love you ame trio

my least fave chara is deidara cause i’m a haterrr (lol i’d say jk but this is just true. he’s incredibly annoying to me and his battles are just plain boring cause he just stands on a bird and monologues. but what really gets me is that he kept coming back. mfer was supposed to die two times and i was so relieved but his annoying ass just kept returning and that’s why instead of just finding him annoying smth inside me switched and genuine hatred came to exist LMFAO. genuinely zero reasonable answers for him to be my least fave unlike if i were to talk about tobirama or kakashi 💀)

what ending? i’m jk. as i said the ending comes completely out of no where and disregards the whole story in favour of being able to have a money grab for a sequel. had it ended at 698 i would have been happy. had sasuke and naruto just both died at 698 i would have been happier.

hmm.. tbh hard to say cause i forget everything that happened ever when i’m asked this. what’s up there is definitely 600 billion paper bombs, sasuke not being able to kill naruto calmly in vote2, any neji battle in classic, kakashi vs obito in kamui, and naruto sobbing during the larger half of vote1. in no particular order + huge chance i’m missing smth that is so obviously the best to me lol.

26. Which character you want to be your teacher and why?

killer b? i’d like to say tsunade but i don’t particularly think she’d be my style of fighting/jutsu. i’d hate to say jiraiya but i fear he would be my style however i’d dread being around him and i think his ‘leave ya to it’ way of teaching probably wouldn’t work great for me. killer b i think i would be able to get along with and would probably be a good/fair teacher for what i presume my style would be.

27. Fav. friendship

i do love a good yamato and sai friendship. i love team taka. i wouldn’t call it a friendship, but i do enjoy the filler that creates a relationship between itachi and juuzou. i think kushina and mikoto as well are super important and are very meaningful friends due to both their circumstances. yeah, i think it’d have to be that. mikoto and kushina.

I've seen your Fuuma supremacy post on birb app (and love it!) and as a fellow Fuuma appreciator I'd like to ask you for gathering twelve reasons to why Fuuma is great / should be appreciated more~ uwu 👉👈

Hohoho that's an interesting one. Honestly it's a bit hard to put into words why certain character is underappreciated cuz it's hard to pinpoint what makes ppl get attached to character in the first place. But I'll try my best :D

1) honestly his early X self. He's so kind and gentle to Kotori and Kamui, very protective brother and friend. Also how soft he and Kamui are back then 🥺 and touchy feely with one another

2) speaking of early X Fuuma, just look at how gay he was for Kamui from the very start

Who the hell thinks of their friends in this shojo typical style??? With sakura petals and sparkles to the boot?? Good boy Fuuma was so head over heels for Kamui, it was adorable 😭♥️ good bf material

3) oke so onto his more complex and intriguing late X self: the enigma of what precisely happened. I've seen some people are discouraged by permanent hiatus and lack of elaboration just what happened to Fuuma. And while yes, I too would prefer if we had answered, mystery and head-scratchers are intriguing to me. I love to speculate, to analyze the possibilities with what we've been given so far. Which brings me to the next point:

4) there's more to late X Fuuma than it meets the eye. It's easy to dismiss him as sadistic without a cause villian (as he's portrayed in X anime sadly) but in manga that's far from the case. Like take this scene for example:

It's true he's ruthless in fulfilling people's wishes and doing bad deeds but look at his expression. That's not face of a man who's too delighted by causing mayhem, in fact looks more saddened by the fact too many people lose sight of themselves in process of caring for their loved ones

5) his more childish/bratty side

This scene in Ebisu before the destruction in vol4 for example. It was equally adorable and sinister given you know who Fuuma is but his kindness did seem genuine. Similar mischief can be seen in his interactions with Seishirou, Kakyou to some degree and sometimes when interacting with other Dragons

6) wish seeing ability and his general omnipotence. I love how he appears like personification of Judgment arcana (just taken on a darker meaning), how he can see deep inside person's heart and see what wishes dwell there. And how he delivers judgement by making those wishes reality. Tbh, I'm not trying to justify Fuuma's actions here but characters around him really do have fucked up wishes (ahem, Subaru, ahem Nataku) - X is basically a story about messed up people in messed up situations. In some lighert X AU he would have severed as a Santa claus or something but alas, X is far from light story

7) simply, these ambiguous lines

Fuuma is judging others on their lack of self awareness 25/8. Add scene with Karen and that "if killing others is wrong then why do we lose sight of what's truly important" line. As well as many more. Honestly maybe it's just me, but there's something ♥️ about characters that are 'above others' but still have a weakness/vulnerability that's tying them back to same humans they're supposed to be above (in Fuuma's case that's obviously his connection to Kamui). In X it's wishes that give characters sense of humanity and will to live and Fuuma himself isn't above wishing; his wish is connected to Kamui one way or another

8) how to not mention his homoerotic courtship battles with Kamui? Iconic honestly. Where else would you get this type of content that's not a BL manga

All shonen battles can go home these are only type that matter

9) oke so since since we're getting shallow for a bit: HE'S HOT AF ♥️🔥 I mean look at those evil smirks

10) I can't find a panel rn but at one point when Kamui said his wish is to bring old Fuuma back current Fuuma's eyes widened and that's the first and last time in series he appeared genuinely shocked. Which leads me to obviously question: why? Does it shock him Kamui wants other Fuuma back? Is Kamui wanting old Fuuma back somehow contradicting Fuuma's own wish (like if only way old Fuuma can come back is if Kamui were to die and Fuuma's wish is for Kamui to live)? I want to know what his wish is 🥺 I'm torn between him wanting Kamui to acknowledge his new self and wanting Kamui to start appreciating himself and wanting to live no matter what. Maybe it's both of those, maybe those wishes are connected somehow 🤔 either way it's that head-scratcher of what precisely late X Fuuma wished for that's intriguing. Maybe it's connected to old Fuuma's wish to protect Kamui but why hurt him so much then??

Look. Fuuma is one of my fave characters so it's only natural I want to see him suffer. I need him to break down cuz of something Kamui did, or even cuz of his death. I want him to be crushed under weight of his emotions and angst 🥺🙏 Wish master who can grant anyone's wish yet there's noone to grant him his own now that Kamui is no longer alive. So my point here is that Fuuma and generally whole late X setting is perfect angst material

All in all, I guess it's Fuuma's complexity that made him one of my faves. There's way more to him than it meets the eye

👻 What is your wildest headcanon?

I think my very wildest headcanon is that Silver stays in the past eventually and goes to live with the Chaotix, haha. Most of my fics run on that premise since otherwise writing Espilver is gonna be a tad hard! But overall, I would very much like it if Silver stayed in the past in general, not even with anyone in particular. It would solve a lot of issues about him needing to have a 'relevant' reason to show up from the future, I think!

🦈 Which character is the toughest to write?

It depends on the story, but I've found it difficult to write for both Charmy and Gold. Charmy because he's a hyperactive li'l bugger who can be written in quite a particular Little Kid way, that I am not that well-acquainted with. And Gold because we don't really have a lot of content on her, so it's difficult to see the personality traits ascribed to her in her bio in actual practice. So both of them are characters I can struggle to get a good grip on!

“...Is there any particular reason you are being so... nibbly, right now?”

A rumbling purr rising up from beside his legs is Espio’s response. A few days have passed since what the chameleon had mentally deemed The Lick Incident, and he is still convinced Vector did not believe his fake explanation of what had happened to his spreadsheet and the inky line carved right into it in the slightest. But the crocodile also had not determined the real and slightly strange cause despite his prodding, so Espio considers it a win all the same. Silver for his part has happily continued with exploring the world and all its oddities in societal convention... which has brought the two of them here, the chameleon figures.

With Silver’s golden eyes peeking up at him from where the hedgehog lays beside him on the couch, and Espio’s hand gently and tenderly clamped right between his teeth.

“Nwo,” the muffled response comes amidst the fabric of Espio’s glove.

“Interesting...” His hand is quite firmly trapped, but not at all in an uncomfortable manner, the chameleon muses. But to say he had expected Silver to just... sink beside him and then give him what is, for all intents and purposes, a love bite – maybe? – without any indication or warning would be a massive lie. As it stands he flexes his fingers, carefully, and sharp little teeth dig into his skin for just a bit more before relaxing again. “Not letting me go, huh?” the chameleon inquires. How intriguing...

Silver foregoes another muffled no for a shake of his head, as well as he can manage with Espio’s hand trapped in his mouth. And Espio can’t help it; he laughs, fingers of his free hand leaning over to press against Silver’s nose. It’s adorably silly, and even if he cannot discern a true reason behind it other than it being yet another way of Silver’s strange affection-providing, he is not above teasing the other a bit. “I would almost say you were teething, tenshi. Do I need to take you to the dentist to see if everything’s going alright in there?”

That elicits a reaction, namely one where Silver’s eyes widen and a most indignant disdained noise follows as Espio’s hand gets spat right out. “Absolutely not!” the hedgehog all but hisses, rearing back with his pelt fluffed to the max. “I’m never going back there again!!”

“That is a shame, since I’ve already planned the next appointment six months from now.” Planned with great difficulty, since Silver had immediately characterised himself as a complete and utter doctor-threatening menace whose bites are not gentle love-bites; cancelling that appointment will likely mean the hedgehog will never be able to go to any dentist anymore. “I can’t just cancel that, since they’ve put in a lot of work to give you a spot again, now can I?” the chameleon adds, giving the other a gentle nudge. Such a thing would not work on Charmy, but luckily Silver’s more easily deceived by an entirely fake appeal to not hurt others’ feelings or be a nuisance. Espio wisely keeps it to himself that the dentist likely would be very glad if she never had to treat Silver again.

As it stands Silver’s eyes do narrow at that reasoning, the cogs in his head clearly turning. “I guess,” follows in a grumble, the hedgehog shifting around on the couch somewhat all the same. His miffed discomfort is enough for Espio to take pity on him, the chameleon’s hand moving over again to scratch under the other’s chin with loving motions. A bit risky, considering The Lick Incident, but Silver’s clearly not too happy with all this...

And Espio promptly gets punished for his transgressions when he tries to pull his hand away again, but it gets snatched up between sharp little teeth before he can do so. “Mwen,” Silver manages to bring out, own hands pinning down Espio’s wrist even more. “So sthway.”

And, well, with such a mean tease, maybe Espio does deserve that and the tinyjolts of discomfort that raise from having his hand get nibbled on. “I’ll stay,” he thus promises his beloved, the tension on his skin easing immediately. Between Espio’s warm murmurs and the touches further lavished on him, Silver forgets what’s happened between them soon enough anyway, contently holding Espio’s mouth close – very close – to his face and making the chameleon smile warmly with how his beloved’s eyes slowly sink shut until he’s all but drifted off in a content nap.

But explaining to Vector and Charmy as they come trampling inside and promptly freeze just whySilver’s biting him is rather mortifying, actually.

It makes Espio think that an aftermath as from The Lick Incident is something he might mentally prepare himself for more often.

Hmm, this one isn't very long, actually... Have another story I wrote yesterday evening on a whim, too. A hypothetical "What if Silver was in TMOSTH and Espio shot him with a blowdart instead", because no-one truly understands my sheer primal need for Silver to also have been in that game, lmao.

“Apologies,” Espio’s voice resounds behind him, and before Silver can yelp or whirl around a stark jab of pain hits him right in his neck.

The hedgehog staggers. His fingers curl around the edge of the train’s control panel with all its buttons, for a moment all he hears is whooshing along the ringing in his ears. The pain recedes, a gasp slips past his lips, his movement to turn to Espio makes him stumble...!

“Silver. Silver, you’re okay,” his beloved murmurs in the vague distance, and Silver groans out something he cannot understand himself as tender fingers brush over his jacketed shoulders.

“What...!”

His head collapses against slightly-itchy fabric, warm fingers trailing up to the back of his neck. The second pinch of pain that follows from there makes him flinch, the sudden movement dizzying and disorienting...

But Espio is warm, and stands steady, and Silver’s woozy mind all but betrays him when the tender scratch given behind his ear makes him purr. “That was a sleeping agent, small one,” Espio murmurs in the other one, breath making it flick sluggishly. “It pains me to do this, but I must. You’ll be taking a nice nap, and wake up none the worse for wear.”

“Nap...?” That can mean only one thing...! “You killed me?” the psychic sputters out, and the laugh above him makes his stomach flutter.

“Indeed I did, love.”

“But I want to play,” Silver protests against Espio’s clothed shoulder, finding his arms unwilling to move and swat at Espio in revenge. “Why me?!”

“Because you chose to be all alone in an unguarded room, my silly one. And I need to kill someone, lest Amy’s whole party is ruined. And because no-one would believe I was the one who would do something so heinous to my beloved.”

Something between a whine and a laugh comes out of Silver’s mouth at that. Indeed, whatever part of his mind has not yet been overtaken by a comfortable fog calling him to just close his eyes can imagine Espio very well, in his fake horror and mock attempts to avenge his beloved without revealing to anyone said beloved fell by his own hand. But those thoughts are just as quickly pushed away by the heaviness swirling through him, his knees buckling until he can’t stand anymore and he crumbles to the ground-! “Don’t go,” he mutters to his beloved, fighting to have his fingers clutch onto Espio’s white sleeve. “Don’t leave-!”

“I am here, tenshi. I won’t go until you’re nice and sleeping. And I’ll be there when you wake up, I promise,” is the last thing he hears, somewhere above him, his body shifting and head sinking into more itchy fabric, and something warm and tender pressed against his cheek before the darkness around him wins and Silver falls deeper and deeper until all is black.

But somehow, he is not scared.

Because Espio will take care of him, and even when unconscious by some dumb sleeping agent shot into him by his cheeky beloved, that is a truth that will always make Silver rest easily.

Helloo there! I'd like to give lots of love for this story! I'm a fucking pusset, and I avoid horror with all my might, usually, but your story has been really intriguing and I'm, above all else, deadly curious! I think there's only one other horror IF that I actually like, and now there's yours too! The story seems to be pretty interesting and the MC being a private investigator only adds to that (me loves sniffing around where I shouldn't). When I read the whole swamp scene there was a giant storm here, and when we reach the parking area, the lights started to flick here, the game's sound made it a whole lot worse and I was like "Well, damn you wendigo sir, you already found me". 😢

I looved Elias, he's a real grumpy and my MC was so terrified that she resorted to violence, never my first option, but I loved the outcome. And I'm sooo curious about Shepard, and literally everyone. As Elias said "curiosity killed the cat" and oh man I'm in for a ride, no regrets.

Follows the story of the dragon, cinder through the world of 'insert name'. Cinder is a lightning creator, whom is rised *Cough INSLAVED cough* by humans, till she decides she's done being controlled, but she could only run, not fly. How will she tread through this world all alone? Let's hope she doesn't.

In this story cinder quite literally lives the trope of lost princess, However, this trope won't be really explored as her kingdom was kind of destroyed, she doesn't care. It was just a tiny little add on I put. She will visit her kingdom in a later arc. So for now? This troupe won't be explored in A while!

I don't really have a disclaimer. I might just end up repeating a lot of the opinions already stated? Might just be a ✨lil echo-chamber moment ✨

Honestly just agree with everything that you're pointing out.

I'm not a little hater (that energy takes a lot to bring forth) but I see both sides of the situation and it's a lot more gray than people want it to be. Like you were saying it has 20x more nuanced than a black and white situation. It's so much easier when stuff is black and white but this type of situation just can't be.

I trust the writers, they have the character's best interest at heart. New Moon/Nexus' story won't end at being a villain or a misunderstood tradegy. If the likes of Eclipse, Old Moon, Monty, and Puppet have grounds to be redeemed then so does Nexus (not that Nexus has ever done anything wrong)

LMAO I love the little guy but I'm so scared for him at the same time, cause I don't know what Dark Sun has in store for him. (Dark Sun so sexy aha~ 🤭 /j). Dark Sun needs him and is using him but I still can't get a read on for what yet. There's a lot of theories and while I adore them, Dark Sun doesn't seem the type to kill Nexus? It's fun to consider he's using Nexus to feed the Witherstorm dragon thing but.... There's so many easier ways to do that than to take in Nexus.

I still can't get over how he used the phrase "You're one of the dead ones" but something I haven't seen pointed out yet, that's Dark Sun's personal terminology. No one else ever considered Nexus "a dead one". I think New Moon actually started spiraling as early as then. Dark Sun planted that seed of disent intentionally.

He's basically a baby and was just getting along with his new bestie and his siblings and then someone wearing the face of his big brother just casually implied he's a zombie. Nothing but an echo. A walking corpse.

I would be scared of what I am too.

Also the thing on Earth just 👌 mwah. The entire p&s convo was dramatic AF. Couldn't get over how Sun warned Earth.... And he was so right about it all....I just, man....Earth, girlie pop.... What was said was not harsh...

I should add, I actually really like Earth and wish we had more female characters in media, but also I will say she did kind of drop the ball on this. Again it's sticky. She's not perfect and I love her for that but she also turned harsh to the wrong person. There's a time and place to be stern and unforgiving and I think it's not when someone is literally terrified and on the brink. (Like you said!!!)

So idk..... The immediate disowning that everyone did? That was harsh. Except Sun, my little pookie, he hasn't disowned him. Sun just suffers from an unfortunate negative communication stat. He puts his foot in his mouth a lot. I'm a Sun simp but even I agree he didn't handle stuff right. In his defense, I got the vibes he just wanted to help Moon but he needed help to him and no one wanted to give it. He went to Earth for help and it actually made it worse. In fact, Sun's entire support system completely failed him.

Isn't that just crazy?

While I don't hold Sun or Earth responsible, I do hold the likes of Monty, Puppet and Foxy responsible. Especially Monty. I'm also upset Lunar just hung back..... He even said he wasn't close to NM....I get vibes Lunar is lying to protect himself and not have to face feelings but... ouch

Anyways back to New Moon/Nexus, there has to be something going on there cause it just wasn't right. He's such a sweetheart and so very different from New Moon.

I see NM/Nexus as the baby who has big shoes to fill. Solar took those shoes from him so he could be more of his awkward sweet self. He screamed at Sun way back when he thought Sun was going to accidentally hurt/ kill himself with Star Power because he was so soul crushingly scared of losing his big brother (and he was extra upset that Sun's reason to hide it from him because he was unconsciously comparing NM to OM). He also went out of his way to make sure Solar would be ok in the final Eclipse showdown by shoving him into the portal while he laser striked the guy.

What crazy to me about NM/Nexus literally seconds after coming to life, was threatened by Eclipse. He woke up fighting what was essentially a God that hated him and his whole family. His breaking point for him wasn't that he lost Solar, it was that he couldn't bring him back. There's so much terror and fear in that kind of loss of control.

You literally opened my eyes so much when you pointed out "he's killing himself to make the pain of caring stop"

I was watching Baby Moon/New Moon and Earth like you said and idk, I think it's really messed up how everything went down. Earth seemed to jump to a lot of conclusions about New Moon and she seemed really upset but also I don't think what New Moon said to push her away was actually that mean. Maybe it's just me?

I also didn't like how Sun went to others for help because he's so lost on what to do with New Moon and everyone was just "let's kill him"

I'm so messed up over this....

What's your thoughts on this? I want to know your observations 👀✍️

I (again, personally) actually don't like that he's back, mostly because the lead up to O.M's return felt very rushed, it makes O.M's original sacrifice for K.C completely in vain, and O.M has essentially just taken N.M's role in the family now that N.M is where he is now, as Nexus. it was all very frustrating to see happen.

And, whooh, I can go on and on and on about how O.M has shown many signs that he hasn't actually improved as a person/brother as much as he claims to have, but I think that harpers on spoiler territory for you Sab so I'll save that for another day dkjfhsdfsd but as for the SECOND part of your statement...

IT 👏 IS 👏 NOT 👏 JUST 👏 YOU 👏

From what I can tell, actually a lot of people agree with you!!! (me included). this leads to kind of a divide in-fandom between people who are on the families side, and those who are on New Moon's/Nexus'. and from what I've seen, even the people who aren't on either side just kind of find Nexus pathetic and emo. which is 100% fair and understandable, considering his "villain arc" was built off of shakey ground lol. AND while I am 100% a N.M/Nexus apologist, that wont stop me from acknowledging that he fucked up bad in some places sdkfjhsdjfk really, everyone messed up a lot to get into the situation they are now story-wise. it's not just one sides fault, and it's draining seeing people trying to make the dilemma one of black and white morals when it is 20x more complex than that. OKAY MINI RANT OVER, ONTO WHAT YOU REFERENCED SKFJDHSDF so. did Earth have every right to be hurt by what New Moon said? oh, 100% yeah, her brother just insulted and demeaned her to her face, ofc it would hurt.

But what really confuses me is how personally she took his insults??? Right before, genuinely, right before that confrontation; Sun warned her that Moon might say something he didn't mean. he warned her, because he knows from experience.

and yet Earth took it to heart??? w. why??? she knows a lot about mental health stuff, or she's supposed to, right??? surely she'd understand that it's a very common trauma/fear response for people to become aggressive and lash out, even against those who they love and care for??? right???

And I also agree that she was jumping to conclusions, or at least misinterpreting N.M's goals/intentions/reasonings. when N.M called her "not a real therapist", she took the greatest offense to that. but. the thing is. he wasn't??? wrong???? did he say it in a rude as hell and aggressive way??? yup, no denying that! but he's not wrong.

Earth isn't a licensed therapist. she is an animatronic with downloaded protocols and processes given to her by the Creator in attempts to try and be a therapist. but she literally admits it to herself multiple times in the show that she's not a real therapist, she just does her best. so it always confused me why she took N.M's statement to heart, because genuinely, for him, her best (or more specifically, her kind and patient style of therapy) wasn't enough. which is v tragic, much ow, big pain.

At the time of being confronted, N.M was exhausted, desperate, spiraling, hallucinating, not wanting to ask for help, lying to both himself and the family, in mourning- basically holding on by a thread. so when cornered, (literally, he physically was cornered in P&S) he lashed out and said mean things to be able to push those he cared about away and "get to safety". it was wrong of him to do, yes, but considering everything we knew about how Moon's (both New and Old) react to stressful situations from prior tragedies, it was to be expected.

BUT THEN??? EVERYONE JUST KIND OF GAVE UP ON HIM AFTER THAT????? he made one mistake. one. one mistake. and suddenly everyone was all like "alright, we've got to kill him." I??? DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK THAT'S A LITTLE BIT FUCKED UP??? HELLO?????

I'm not denying that N.M was becoming unstable. I'm not denying that he was becoming aggressive. he was, and that's why he needed help. he needed someone to stick by him even as he was pushing them away, to love him even at his lowest, and no one did. Imo, at least Sun has the excuse of being traumatized by Old Moon's past actions, which could explain why he was so desperate for everyone else's input, but Earth and Lunar??? Monty and Puppet too??? hello???? why the hell are you doing your brother/friend (who is doing all of this TO GET SOLAR BACK BECAUSE HE WANTS TO MAKE THEM ALL HAPPY, MIND YOU) like this???? HELLO????

And I'm also bringing up that Nexus still hasn't really. done anything??? in the current point of the story??? the worst thing he's done so far is rough up O.M a bit. but other than that, all he did was say cruel/threatening things to/about the other Celestials. he's yet to act on.. anything?? he hasn't killed a single person. and you know who have killed people?? Sun, Lunar, Solar, Old Moon, Puppet, Monty... and yet?? some people see him as an irredeemable monster???? it's. strange to me. it's obvious he's hurting, it's obvious he still cares. and he's literally killing himself to try and make the pain that comes with caring stop- isolating himself, poisoning himself, and literally ripping out his own emotions, idk guys, those don't seem like the actions of an irredeemable villain, but maybe it's just me sdkfljhsdf

okay lets talk sapphics because theyre very dear to me (since im one myself)

finding nice lesbian/bisexual women representation in media is hard and a BL was the last place i expected to find it but here we are.

i dont know if they will end up together or if we will get to see their relationship evolve (fair, ‘cause this isnt their story) but the fact that theyre both queer coded cant be denied, in this essay i will-

#1 ink’s lack of interest in men.

we see her reject pat (more than once lmao), and she makes very clear that what she had with pat in high school was just friendship (so not only she doesnt like him now, she never did).

#2 their first interaction its them literally flirting.

god the “chracter A: i cant do it its too hard 🥺👉👈, character B: i will teach you 😏” troop its so cliche but so good 1000/10 never stop using it please

#3 ink’s interest in pa.

she insists pa goes with them to eat (and its kinda sad when she says no)

then when she finally gets to be with her, even if its suppose to be a date with pat, she pays way more attention to pa (and the cakes) than to him and its more than happy to be left alone with her (and to get to eat pat’s cake).

this  ↑ ss literally summarizes the date. pat tired and rejected while ink asks pa to feed her hahsdfhjhahsdjfk i love it here.

#4 pa’s curiosity and interest in ink.

shes helping her bro to get ink even if it goes against her own advide (dont date friends) just because its ink, just because she likes her (looks like someones living her own crush thru his brother, who she probably thinks has more chances to date ink than her anyways). 

she likes her yall. thats all 👀👀👀

#5 whatever the f*ck they got going on in ep 7

they were so gay in this episode. i was thriving !! like theres no straight explanation to any of their scenes,

-their encounter here is very clearly out of a romcom. the music, the stare, the smiles, 

-them holding hands for no reason (pretty self explanatory) and pa’s face when ink calls her pretty. i cant tell whats gayer, calling your homies pretty or reacting like that to your homies calling you pretty.

-flirting thru sweets and anonymous notes (sighs) theyre so much like episode 2 patpran, just date already 

-ink saving pa (and her friends) from a stupid dude bro

and look !! at pa’s face like- nngghghg shes so gay for ink. me too me too

-pa’s friends instatly crushing on ink (me too tbh) and pa agreeing with them

The monsters wont leave the underground after the barrier is brocken. They prefer staying down there to avoid the humans. [they dont count frisk as a full "human"] but they somtimes go to the surface to get certain things.

After the ruins near the bridge is a path into the forest. Theres a little village similar to snowdin.[ some monsters  live there. theres also a lab where sans is somtimes. theres a portal that leads to the lab in hotland.

Because everything is more like a blue color hotland is aswell. [blue lava, blue ground]. golden and red flowers are very rare. The blue flowers somtimes get mistaken for echo flowers. many monsters dont know what other colors are.

grillby has 2 "jobs"[only in a pacifist timeline. but in neutral ones hes just like a good healer. without healing magic.] besides working in grillbys he also works as a "doctor". hes the one of the only ones who can help without healing magic or dont fail at that. [hes not the only one]

Alphys is besides anime a huge sonic fan. But she does watch some certain animes like demon slayer,death note and some others when she got the time to. she is only very shy with strangers and people she dosent knows about but when she hangs out with people she knows good shes very chaotic. with undyne its a 50/50. she also likes to experiment with dark magic.

As for your question aaa 🤔!! I do hope you don't mind if I ramble a little sbsjs, I enjoy talking about Operators v v much 👉👈...! (Please take caution as I'll be mentioning some minor spoilers from both of their Operator Files and from the story of the 'Break the Ice' event 😯!!)

I'll talk about my thoughts towards SilverAsh first!

(Summer-Pirate SilverAsh says 'hello' to everyone and to you anon!)

SilverAsh is one of my most favourite Operators and he has been for quite a long time svshs!! I love using him in-game and writing for him here on the blog v v much 🥰!

Firstly, I like his design lots aaa; mostly because of the refined-type of attire he wears and his fluffy snow leopard ears and tail 🥺~ Along with that, his EN voice is awesome and I feel it sounds just like his original JP voice omg, his EN voice actor did him lots of justice ✨!!!

Secondly, his skill set is v v cool and I feel that he's super versatile sbsjs 👍!!!

He can be left on his own to defend when equipped with his second skill, or he can output lots of burst damage with his third skill! Along with that, I feel that his 'Eagle Eyes' talent that removes the invisibility of certain enemies is super useful 🤔✨!

I've had my SilverAsh for a long time now and I've invested lots of LMD and resources into him with no regrets, I like to bring him along on Operators often!!

(Here he is aaa! I'm also thinking about putting resources towards the Mastery for his second skill hmm 🤔)

Thirdly, as for his story and character, I find him to be an interesting person that's not as cold-hearted as he may seem svshs!!

The general perception of SilverAsh by those around him is that he's v shrewd, constantly has hidden motive, and is v v prideful perhaps so much so that it's not-so-good 🤔

However, I've always believed that he's able to be a compassionate person! I feel that, considering that he unfortunately had to mature v fast following the death of his parents, he simply had to become a more hardened person 🤔

This means SilverAsh grew up to become v v strong-willed and never lets anything cause him to falter, even when others are expecting him to collapse; however this also caused him to lose his faith in love or warmth svshs 😔 As he states in one of his voicelines, he believes:

"Compassion saves no one on the battlefield."

But even so, it's clear he cares for others if you take a closer look! He shows some warmth towards the Doctor and to those close to him from Kjerag 👉👈 It's just that it's v likely he dislikes being seen as vulnerable so he has troubles when conveying his care 😭 One of Cliffheart's voicelines regarding her brother communicates this rather perfectly:

"My brother sent Matterhorn to look after me, didn't he…? Ugh, why can't he just come out and tell me what he's thinking? It drives me mad."

And also sbsjs, I do want to add in a small SilverAsh relationship headcanon considering that my blog is for x reader content after all lolol ✨!

So fourthly, I feel that SilverAsh would definitely be the kind of person who spoils his s/o a lot 😭💞!!! If you express wanting something, he'll get it for you without a second thought - even if you'd only made the slightest mention about it lololsbjs!!

Okay sgshs, I'll talk about what I think about Gnosis next!

(Gnosis says 'hello' to everyone and to you anon, however he hopes this won't take too much time away from his researching work lolol 😭)

I happen to like Gnosis lots as well sbsjs 👍!! I was v v hyped for the 'Break the Ice' event and had saved up for him! Fortunately, he came home to me with no issue aaa 🥳!!! I haven't got any requests for him yet, however I am hoping to receive some that interest me so I can have the chance to write for him sbsjs sometime 👉👈

Firstly, I like his design svshs 🤔! It's quite simple and perhaps not-so ostentatious, but I think that suits him! And I like the red bits in his hair lots svshs ✨ His EN voice also suits him well and I happen to prefer it over his JP voice aaa...!

(I'm also super hyped for his skin to release to the EN server aaa, he looks v v cool in it ✨😮!!!)

Secondly, I think his skills are super fun aaa!! I love his ability to apply Cold and Freeze to enemies as I think it's v v cool ❄️!!! Maybe his damage output is not as much as other Operators, but I still think his damage amounts and his crowd-control capabilities are super awesome aaa 🥳👍!!

I haven't had my Gnosis for too long, however I've already gladly put a good amount of LMD and resources into him sbsjs ✨ I take him along on Operators often, sometimes in the place of a Caster Operator 🤔!

(Here's my Gnosis sbsjs!! I finally got his trust level to 200% recently which I'm v happy about 🥳~)

Thirdly, in regards to his story and character, though he seems to be generally viewed as a bit of a ill-mannered jerk, I actually feel that he's a rather tragic and sad character svshs 😔

When he was v young, Gnosis and his family were forced to leave their home nation and were treated awful by the people of Kjerag because they accused of being the ones behind the deaths of SilverAsh's parents sbjss so Gnosis unfortunately had a not-so-good childhood to say the least 😔...

And even now, as he's older, most of Kjerag rejects him angrily and there isn't much of a place for him in his own home nation 😭

Considering so, I feel it's v v understandable that Gnosis has become to be extremely apathetic towards just about everything, only caring for his research sbsjs 🤔

He doesn't have even the slightest interest at all in compassion, relationships with others, or such; his voicelines v clearly show his uncaring attitude towards most things:

"SilverAsh's sisters? Yes, I've met them several times... Hm...? What more do you want me to say? I know nothing about those frolicsome, ever-changing creatures, and I certainly am not interested in them."

"The best way you can earn my trust is by showing me your true academic strengths, and it seems you've already realized as much, Doctor. I am not like SilverAsh. I am not interested in deeper emotional exchanges."

"Much like SilverAsh's, your endeavors require the help of countless supporters. However, the more supporters you have, the more you have to worry about. Since you cannot disregard them, you should avoid getting entangled. That is my one and only piece of advice for you, Doctor."

This all makes me rather sad aaa 😭 Unlike SilverAsh, I feel that Gnosis has much less of capacity for warmth because he has never been able to trust or find safe comfort in anyone, so now he shuts his heart away from anything and anyone v v firmly 😔...he simply finds it easier to care about nothing outside the progress of his research sbsjs

But sgshs 😶 before I get too sad I want to mention the small relationship headcanon I thought of for him 👉👈!!!

Fourthly, I imagine that Gnosis would remember everything about what his s/o likes and dislikes svshsv 💕 then, when the time comes for gifts or dates, he'll apply what he's taken note of to ensure whatever he's giving to you is perfect~

As for the relationship between SilverAsh and Gnosis 🤔

They were childhood friends 🥺!! I feel that, even if both of them are much colder than they were when they were children, they're still close friends svshs! They seem to understand one another acutely and have a certain respect for eachother!!

SilverAsh cares for his friend, but again svshs SilverAsh has a funny way of showing people that he cares lololsjks 😭😶 Though it may not seem like it, he's looking out for Gnosis when he sends him to Rhodes Island! It's clear to SilverAsh that: at Rhodes Island Gnosis won't experience the harsh and angry treatment of the people of Kjerag, and Rhodes Island's advanced technology and such will assist him in better progressing his research, which SilverAsh knows is Gnosis' highest priority svshs 🤔!!

And as for Gnosis, SilverAsh seems to be the only thing outside his research that he's willing to dedicate his time and his effort to! I feel that this is because SilverAsh never once blamed the death of his parents on Gnosis and even said that he would've forgiven him had he been responsible...! Along with that, SilverAsh is one of the few people to not abandon Gnosis 😭 So I feel that Gnosis holds SilverAsh as maybe one of his only friends 🤔

I definitely feel that SilverAsh and Gnosis would need similar s/o's: someone who can make them believe in warmth and compassion once again, someone who they can allow themselves to be vulnerable around aaa 😭👉👈

(They both need someone to warm their hearts if you will lolololsjsks 😭💕)

Marcus in the comments got a lot of Kara 's character right but I wanna add some things that I've learned about her 👉👈

She (and Alice) both inherently follow the ideology of "It would be better if I was human", Alice being able to accept her identity way she is faster than Kara could ever 💀

Here's one thing I think is very interesting is that Valorie describes Alice twists as something that can be used for Kara to love herself. It is basically described as "Oh Alice is human and loves me and I love her, she is special and makes me feel special because she's not like other humans who are violent and hate Androids", then when she finds out Alice is android she goes through that dilemma of "oh she's just like me" , which could imply Kara has self loathing for what she is. Internalized hatred for androids in some way? Maybe insecurity. The narrative switches when Kara is sent to camps (with Markus revolution), you're given a choice to choose certain dialogues and one of them being "brave" and one of lines are "maybe one day they'll realize how much they've wronged us", it either comes off as hopeful or her views on humans changed, developing an ideology similar to North's, more of the latter if you take into account of How the line was said, rather than what was said.

While her main goal is to protect Alice (or the determination to make sure she'll do everything she can to make Alice happy again), Safety is her second priority (not really for herself knowing she can just jump into a freezing cold river), it's probably something she realized after seeing Mary and Andy. (They essentially recreate the scene if Kara and Alice get injured during the escape from Jericho 💀)

Kara has her nosy and curious nature, while not explored fully in the game, it's still there. Even as an android she still had that curiosity but never took it into account (with anti depressants and drugs and just Todd's general behaviour, looking at Alice's books and trying to open the box before getting the key, looking into Luther's bag, following Rose when checking on Mary and Andy and picking up the photo of Adam's dad, and just exploring their house. She also just plays with snow) she does try her best to be empathetic, offering her condolences to North if Markus doesn't make it to crossroads. One person she never really forgave was Connor, she never actually said "I forgive you to him", she maybe has her guard up when it comes to men, after having been wronged by so many. The situation surrounding Connor is either she doesn't remember or she's afraid of it not lasting.

She also manipulates, lies and steals. She isn't some innocent angel the fandom deemed her to be 💀 she often guilt trips in order to survive, she uses Todd's story against him at the bus station, Telling Adam "if you freak out, you'll see your mother in prison, do you want that?" Knowing full well Adam is very attached to his mom. She also uses Alice's story when threatening the Cashier at the convenience store. It's very much, "if I want something, I'll take it"

If you've done the "by River" flowchart, you'd get set options of Kara being able to talk about herself, one of the things she admits to is wanting to find out who she is, not knowing what she actually wants and wanting to learn how to love, implying she never knew how to do it. Kara has a wide array of knowledge, for some whose education can start from kindergarten to university level, but she's always fascinated when it comes to actually experiencing it. This applies to all androids of course.

She's very capable of being someone who micromanages, ignores her own feelings and thoughts, she never talks about her own doubts, only doing it one time with Luther (about RA9) and immediately got shut down . she's also confident, she often throws herself into fights with a 50/50 chance of winning, sometimes even less. Hell, she's even brutal if she wants to be, she can pull out the bathroom android at Zlatko's heart out without much thought, the action is even labelled as "Silence" 💀💀

I really want to write a Kara-centered fic but I struggle to think of anything because well...

(I mean this as someone who likes Kara) remove Alice & what is Kara's goals? It's just really difficult for me to fully understand her character because I know you'd probably end up writing both Kara & Alice BUT - i'd like there to be more to Kara than just mommy-caretaker angst reciever the character(TM).

I know in a way her character is fluid & can be interrupted different ways (it's a game with choices) but almost ALL of her choices are [way to take care of Alice]. ;_;

writing advice? aaa i'm not sure i'm the best blog for this but i'll do my best! >:) (i'll try to not base this off of my style, since every writing style is unique!)

before i begin, i want everyone who reads this to keep this thought in mind: there is NO right way to write! everyone's style is different and unique to them, and no one has any right to tell you that your writing isn't proper or "right", because the concept of writing being "right" in a story perspective just doesn't exist. if you have a story to tell, show it in your own way! (but understanding grammar and punctuation, dialogue tones and plot progression can really help you fully convey the story you want to tell and help your readers understand better too!)

use interesting vocabulary

find words that speak to you and incorporate them in your writing! this also helps to diversify your writing and make it interesting as well :D this can also help clearly explain emotions and convey personalities of characters and ideas without needing to explicitly say them

ex (using the word "sad"):

alternatives to "sad": sorrowful, melancholic, dismayed, petulant, crushed, despaired, heartbroken, numb, frigid, somber, listless

if you look up the meaning of each word, they all convey different emotions though tie back to the general feeling of "sad" in the end. for example, "listless" is defined as "(of a person or their manner) lacking energy or enthusiasm", whereas "petulant" is defined as "(of a person or their manner) childishly sulky or bad-tempered". both convey the general emotion of sadness with different connotations. using diverse vocab adds a twist to your writing and also helps to better convey your story/emotions!

i'm including some resources to help with vocabulary if anyone's interested :) (they're ones i often use myself and find helpful!)

thesaurus.com -> basically an online thesaurus, type in a word and it'll find a bunch of unique synonyms for you to use!

onelookthesaurus -> this one is super helpful! you can type in words and phrases and it'll give you alternatives with more depth!

show, don't tell

this is a principle that my writing teacher often hammered into my class' brains. when you show something, you paint a picture in the reader's mind and immerse them more into the story, whereas just telling the reader what was happening eliminates that sense of connection they have to the plot and/or characters. it's important to note that telling isn't "bad", and is best used when you want to convey quicker passages or time or ideas/concepts that aren't as important to the overall story or meaning.

ex:

the happy boy walked down the street

this sentence conveys exactly what is happening and is no more than it's supposed to be: just a happy boy walking down a street

vs

he sauntered down the street, head high, shoulders rolled, and smile more vibrant than the sweltering gaze of the noon sun

this sentence adds immersion to the mix: the reader is able to visualize someone who is obviously happy without the author needing to explicitly say so.

new character speaking = new paragraph

this helps both organize your writing and helps the reader understand who exactly is talking. another thing to note is that it's always especially helpful to make clear of which dialogue is which characters :)

play around with some literary devices!

literary devices, depending on your point of view, can be fun to experiment with in writing! want to convey a deep, emotion point without actually saying the concept out loud? try a metaphor, simile, or even a juxtaposition! going back to "show don't tell", it's also a helpful way to do exactly that: show, and not tell. literary devices help convey ideas, concepts, and information in unique ways, so if you're fond of more "dream-like" storytelling, i'd suggest you take a look at some literary devices and see which ones you like! :)

tell a story that YOU want to tell

writing is always defined by the author. whatever you write for, it should always be a story that you want to tell. i know on tumblr many accounts can ask for requests, and if you're comfortable with taking requests then go for it!! but it's important to note that if you don't see anything among the requests that you really like, don't force yourself to write it. storytelling and writing will always be defined by an author's will and sacrificing your desires for the sake of others won't be any good. this is your pen and paper, and you can write anything your heart desires (within reason)*!

*obviously i mean don't write anything illegal PFBFBT

i think this is all the advice i have to share, i'm not exactly a professional or qualified writer, but i've been writing for a long time and i'm more than happy to share with you all that i've found out in the time in between :) if you have any questions, feel free to send an ask in!
