MBTI isn't fricking astrology. It isn't putting people in a hierarchy of best to worst. It doesn't predict what jobs you can be successful at or who you can be in a romantic relationship with. You cannot criticize MBTI on that basis because THAT IS NOT WHAT IT IS FOR.

It is not a surprise to me that mainstream psychology is uninterested in MBTI because it is not intended to diagnose or prevent or cure any mental illness. (Not that I have that much respect for what mainstream psychology allows or doesn't allow into their worldview anyway...)

Once again IT'S NOT ASTROLOGY. It's just an elaboration on the four classical temperaments, with additional dimensions. It even has a plausible basis in neurology, though it is understudied. The company that claims the IP also doesn't use Jungian functions, which is where the real utility and underlying structure is. They don't own the bulk of the theory nor have done the heavy lifting, they just have a trademark on administering these unsophisticated tests. Short quizzes on the internet cannot reliably type you. If they could, it would be a very unsophisticated personality assessment.

All of these are such invalid grounds to criticize the theory in my opinion.

Right before I head off to pick up Dolce, I notice it's an event day. I figure, okay, we can put that off a little longer and reset to get something Venti can be mildly involved in, enjoy her presence before she spends the better part of a season unconscious. (Or get the first required event for my love interest of choice, since it's always nice to get that out of the way early, but something with Venti in it is the more likely option.)

And then literally every event that isn't one of those proceeds to trigger. It's almost impressive.

Sorry I haven't posted any updates or anything new in a while. I've been having terrible indigestion and losing sleep as a result, so I haven't been super motivated to write or do much. On a positive note, my husband can now feel the baby move! Or at least he can when she cooperates. She's in the habit of squirming around a lot until I tell him so he can feel her and then stops for a break so that he can't.
