I knew people who hated Nesta with every bone in their body were odd but I never realized the cognitive dissonance until now???

and i don't mean people who just don't care for her, I mean people who genuinely hate her and love rhysand and feyre and the entire ic??? idk what it is specifically about her that makes y'all lose your senses.

One thing I see a lot is "you've clearly never met someone like Nesta" which ig makes sense but did you really know like Nesta because I highly doubt anyone who did and knew them that in depth views her with such disgrace ? If you did and still view her as satan then you clearly have not matured past a high school mentality, because people are not cartoons. They can't decide if she's a high school bully or the devil incarnate.

They speak like they have ten college degrees and are a forefront in clinical psychology? Adding a condescending tone to batshit insane takes is not helping your cases 😭

Typically their biggest fault is false equivalence and then proceed to not apply the empathy and reason they give other characters to her or anyone who opposes their favs

(There's a similar vein of anti-tamlins and anti-elains but i don't interact with them as much so idk)

Random thought of the day: NFCV rarely, if ever, shows vampire biting humans. The major example I can think of is Dracula going on a killing spree in that flashback of S2. But then you have the Styrian council with a much more impersonal stash of blood, and other vampires simply opting for dismembering humans (Godbrand's dream, where he simply decapitates people for the pleasure of it - kinda funny then that he goes to complain about the possibility of starving under Dracula's rule).

Anyway, this ofc made me think of Lenore, because it is very noticeable with her. She's a vampire mistress with a human pet. Surely biting him would come up, right? Imagine him in S4 looking much better kept than in S3, but with a large biting mark on his throat that he's forbidden from covering, a large flashing "Lenore's property" sign for the other vampires. He depends on her for safety, and she depends on him for nourishment, fitting the "we're the only ones we have in this world" theme they have in S4. Come on, it's right there.

This is really the most we see of Lenore "feeding" on Hector, and it's clearly a humiliation tactic in a long humiliating sequence, so it doesn't count. It's also the beginning of her sexual abuse: she's kissing him on the lips while he's about to pass out. Funny, because this could be a metaphor for rape: it's not about her needs, it's about control and power. She's merely putting him in his place and reminding him that he's nothing but meat for the likes of her. I could almost believe it to be clever symbolism, if I didn't know the show's mentality on rape.

Anyway, once again, it could have been used in an effective way to characterize her. Lenore doesn't like biting people to feed. It's too savage for someone like her, too painful for the victim. Perhaps it was her idea to keep bottles of blood in their room, maybe justifying it with a pragmatic "we're not gonna bring a poor sap here everytime we're hungry, right?". Of course, when you think about it, draining a human of their blood to put it in bottles is actually much less humane than biting... but hey, Lenore doesn't have to stain her pretty teeth :) she can pretend to be good and above her own species :) and look! Hector is completely unmaimed! He should be grateful that she is so human towards him! This is love, right? I'm better than all the others, right? :)

But ofc, since she doesn't stand out against anyone, it falls flat, like many things. And besides, lol, as if NFCV would dare to show Lenore in a less than flattering light. s4 even had hector mutilate himself as a symbol of love for her and i'm here wishing for a bite mark, why do i bother.

It makes the Deats' defense of the S3E9 sex scenes all the more hilarious. Yes, vampires are often sex metaphors (but not always: Stoker's Dracula is more prominently a disease metaphor, among other things). But y'all didn't even indulge in the metaphor. It would have been too subtle, probably. And taken time for the much more explicit, vulgar, and insistent "good boy" scenes that really want me to get all hot and bothered - who cares about a nuanced personality that explores the morality of a vampire when there's horny and ship tease to be had?

i had the biggest urge and inspiration to paint something yesterday, but i ran out of the necessary paints and it pained me greatly that i was stuck inside till next week 💔💔 BUT‼️‼️i ordered A Thousand Splendid Suns, champion (marie lu) and They Three Body Problem and im so so excited to read them oml i read cixin liu's The Wandering Earth over and over so many times and am now in the process of reading all of his other books starting with the three body problem haha

As a SuperM fan/fan account seeing the amount of hate they are getting for scoring No.1 on the billboard charts is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. Before i start non-stop ranting lemme claify one thing, i am in no way attacking the bts fanbase(Armys) as a whole. I know not all armys are this way but this is where i see the majority of the hate coming from. A few days ago we lost a young, talented, and outspoken idol due to malicious comments. I saw post after post preaching about hate comments needing to stop and people need to change. I've seen multiple armys speaking on behalf of the situation saying they didnt know her but she didnt deserve the hate. Now lemme begin. YOU ARE HYPOCRITES. The same ones who were writing these fake ass condolence letters are the same exact salty fans who wrote endless post saying SuperM cheated their way to the top. Talking shit about the bundles they had when if you actually took time to do research and stop talking so much shit you would know its a common thing in America. Istg. Then the victim card get throw like "everyone calls us toxic. We are the most hated fandom". You do it yourselves. You insert yourselves in situations that aint got shit to do with you.
