#JackedKirby - Whose Ready For College Football... Kirby Style! 🏈🏈🏈 ESPN, The NCAA and Marvel Comics are teaming up to commemorate the start of College Football 150th season by recreating some iconic comic covers... and one of them is based on the art of Jack Kirby!!!! 🏈🏈🏈 Week Zero of 2019 kicks off the season with arch rivals the Miami Hurricanes facing off with the Florida Gators. The teams have a storied rivalry, and Marvel came up with three iconic covers featuring Hulk and Thor to commemorate those epic past battles. And the final cover features Kirby art and is a preview of this years matchup! 🏈🏈🏈 Marvel enlisted Jose-Luis Garcia Lopez And Wayne Faucher to recreate Journey Into Mystery #Issue112 (published in January of 1965, Pic 3). Instead of the Hulk trying to rip Mjolnir out of Thor’s hands, we instead get Albert the Alligator trying to rip the pigskin outta Sebastian the Ibis’s grip! (Pic 2). The results are AWESOME!!! 🏈🏈🏈 On a personal note, everyone in my household (Mike D) is a die hard Hurricanes fan and will be rooting HARD for the Canes in this season opening matchup...
