There was so much to take in—the forest, which, even though Scarlett wasn’t the biggest fan of, was a pleasant and beautiful setting. The breathtaking waterfall. The fact that Illyana wasn’t wearing anything. And the old, strange book she was reading, that with Scarlett’s curiosity, could lead to some questions later.

But even with all of that going on, the sword was still the thing that caught Scarlett’s attention the most. Her weapon of choice was the bow, sure, but swords had always fascinated her–she had some experience with it, but by no means was she the best swordswoman around–the same way. And the Soul Sword? She’d never seen anything like it up close.

“Right...” she nodded slightly, a few questions forming in her mind but taking a backseat for the moment.

The explanation only made her want to get closer, but Scarlett held herself back. Partly because it felt a bit disrespectful of sorts to touch the blade now that she knew the it was made from Illyana’s soul. And of course, there was still the threat that she could turn to dust, something she wanted to avoid at all costs. The best thing was to keep her hands away from the sword.

“The coolest things are always the most dangerous. Makes sense.” she remarked with a slight grin on her face. “So only you can wield it? Kinda like Thor's hammer. That's interesting.”

     It was a wonder how the daughter of Clint Barton and Natasha Romanova had managed to track down the Queen of Limbo . . . but perhaps when your parents were super assassins ? You shouldn't put it passed someone like Scarlett to figure it out .

     Now realizing she wasn't alone in the secluded woods overlooking a breathtaking waterfall , the bare woman would shut the ancient tome she had been reading ; turning to face the other as the question was posed , ❝ It's the truth .❞ . Illyana was now rising to her feet , approaching the blade in question and hoisting it from the soil it had once penetrated , ❝ The sword is fabricated out of my soul . . . once stolen from me by my ex-husband . ❞

WORST DAY EVER!!!

TODAY I HAD TO REPLACE AN ENTIRE SEAT BECAUSE THE WIRING HARNESS THAT CONNECTS FROM THE WEIGHT SENSOR MODULE DECIDED NOT TO WORK!!

the seat that I circled is the seat I had to replace, and it was really annoying putting it back into place. The wiring was malfunctioning and so I thought it would be a simple fix of "ok cool let's just replace the wiring and call it good!" but in order to do that we have to replace the seat. I'm mad. I've been chasing this stupid B1884 code. I was hoping and praying it was just the fuse for it. but unfortunately, it wasn't. I'm still trial-and-erroring it at the moment, going through a checking procedure where I have to check it with a voltameter, but the airbag its attached to is essentially a bomb and even static will set it off. So, I'll have to come in on Monday, even though I'm not scheduled for Monday because I get a convenient 4 days off, then I have to essentially tickle the testicles of a hormonal elephant.

PS; the airbag light is still on after fix and code clear.

SOS save me I'm in incredible danger.

Feel free to suggest things, automotive world. This is on a 2009 Madza3 isport for anyone wondering. I heard they had a recall on this specific module, which I'm unsure if it's true or not. They could get it replaced for free.

Bagong Simula, Isang Binhi ng Pag-asa

Bagong taon, bagong mga mukha, gaya ng mga munting binhi na handang umusbong, puno ng pag-asa at posibilidad. Nagsisimulang mag-ugat, magtaglay ng pangarap, at handang magbigay-buhay sa bagong simula.

Bawat taon, may mga bagong estudyante na humahakbang mula elementarya patungong high school. Kilalanin natin si Josel Angeleen 'Jeleen' Apdian, isa sa mga estudyanteng humakbang patungo sa high school ngayong akademikong taon 2024-2025 sa UPIS.

Isang student-athlete at student-leader, tinatanggap ni Jeleen ang mga bagong responsibilidad sa simula ng kanyang paglalakbay sa high school. Kasama sa kanyang mga tagumpay ang pagiging dancer ng UPIS Pep Squad at ang pagkapanalo bilang Secretary ng Freshman Association. Binabalanse niya ang kanyang mga tungkulin bilang Secretary habang patuloy na nagpapakita ng husay sa kanyang piniling sport.

Student Jeleen: Hakbang sa Bagong Lupa

Sa laki ng gusali at dami ng silid-aralan, hindi ka ba maliligaw?

Bilang bagong estudyante na humakbang mula elementarya, hindi naiwasan ni Jeleen ang kaba at excitement sa unang araw ng pasukan. Bagamat bago siya sa gusali ng UPIS High School na puno ng mga bagong pook at daan, hindi naiwasan ni Jeleen at ang kanyang mga kaibigan na maligaw. Sa bagong kapaligiran, natural lang na mag-alinlangan at magtanong sa sarili kung paano nila maaabot ang kanilang destinasyon sa tamang oras.

Ngunit, tulad ng isang binhi, hindi niya kayang tumubo kung walang patak ng pagkakamali at pagkakatuto. Kwento niya, sadyang hindi niya makakalimutan ang karanasang ito sapagkat maliban sa natutunan niya kung paano maglakbay sa napakalaking gusali na ito, napagtanto rin niya kung gaano kahalaga ang kanyang mga kaibigan sa kanyang buhay. Sa kalagitnaan ng bagong hardin ng kanyang batch, isa siyang lider na handang maglingkod kasabay ng iba pa niyang mga responsibilidad.

Hindi lamang isang student-athlete si Jeleen, kundi isang student-leader din na kumakatawan sa kanyang batch at aktibong nagpapalakas ng kanilang samahan. Sa pamamagitan ng pakikilahok sa pagpaplano ng mga fundraisers at pagiging kinatawan ng kanyang batch, natutulungan niyang mapatibay ang kanilang ugnayan. Sadyang nag-iiba ang binhing ito sa mga mata ng iba, sapagkat kahit pare-pareho ang natatanggap na araw at tubig ng lahat, naipakita niya ang kanyang pagkakaiba sa hardin na puno ng iba't ibang halaman, na may kasamang malasakit at dedikasyon upang mapalago at mapabuti ang kanyang paligid.

Bilang parte ng kanyang pangarap na magsilbi sa komunidad, ibinahagi rin niya ang kanyang hangarin na tumakbo para sa Pamunuang Kamag-Aral (PKA) sa hinaharap. Kwento niya na nauna ang kanyang papel bilang lider bago ang pagsali sa isang koponang pampalakasan. Dagdag niya pa na may karanasan siya mula sa PKA 3-6 bilang Treasurer ng KA-Alab Party noong 2023, at dahil dito, nadagdagan at napabuti ang kanyang mga kasanayan sa pamamahala. Tiyak na may maaambag siya sa pamumuno, na nagpapakita ng kanyang kakayahang pagsasamantala sa bawat pagkakataon na dumating sa kanya.

Bilang isang estudyante na abala sa iba’t ibang mga gawain, sadyang hindi madaling pagsabayin ang lahat ng ito. Ngunit ayon kay Jeleen, "If you want to do something, you can go for it." Ipinaliwanag niya na maaaring magsimula ito bilang isang hamon, ngunit matututuhan mo ring balansehin ang lahat ng iyong mga kagustuhan at passion habang patuloy na sumusulong. Dagdag pa niya, "You can still enjoy while doing a lot of things," sapagkat hindi mo dapat isuko ang iyong mga napiling commitment at dapat mong hanapin ang saya sa iyong mga tungkulin.

Ok, but I have some Khan thoughts today.

Khan, in Star Trek Into Darkness, helping Kirk, Spock and Uhura to fight against the Klingons there. Takes a whole squad of them out almost all by himself, fuck. Just goes right in and just - shreds them. Because yes, Khan is that strong and experienced in combat.

But also, his love for his family? He asks about how many torpedoes there are. HOW. MANY. He's so insistent on knowing. And when he hears the number - seventy-two - the look on his face of utter surprise ('Marcus did not kill them?') and shock ('They are here, and Marcus intended to use them on me in this way - he has not yet killed them but he has planned to kill me with them here instead!') and his expression turns so deeply affected and emotional... fuck.

I mean, please, look:

And he immediately surrenders. Would do anything for his friends. His crew. His family. Even lets Kirk punch him in the face repeatedly because he has taken worse, and he would continue to take worse for his people.

Also, I loved one detail during the interrogation after - Kirk's face is still a little roughed up while Khan looks all pristine and good, displaying the insane power of his enchanced self-healing. Granted, he didn't appear much roughed up before but still, I do think it's a detail that was added deliberately - also showing how much it takes to actually hurt him (because he barely got visually hurt during the whole of that while Kirk isports a few cuts here and there.)

FEATURE: GALING UPIS: Pia Ducanes at Nathan Egea, nagkamit ng ROTY sa UAAP S86

Nagkamit ng parangal na Rookie of the Year sina Olympia Ducanes ng Table Tennis Team at Nathan Egea ng Basketball Team, dalawang student-athlete ng UPIS noong nakaraang UAAP Season 86.

Ang parangal na Rookie of the Year ay iginagawad sa mga natatanging manlalaro na unang beses pa lamang maglaro sa UAAP. Ang batayan ng pagpili ng natatanging manlalaro sa basketball ay pataasan ng pangkalahatang puntos, rebounds, assists at steals mula sa lahat ng laro. Sa table tennis naman ay tinitignan ang puntos na nakukuha kada set at ikukumpara ito sa iba pang mga rookies sa taong iyon. Kung sakali mang magkaroon ng parehas na puntos ang dalawang manlalaro, titignan kung sino ang mas maraming naipanalong set.

Ang rookie of the year award ay tinanggap ni Olympia Ducanes sa Amoranto Sports Complex noong Nobyembre 23, 2023. Sa kabila ng team standing na 1-9, siya ang tinanghal na rookie of the year ng UAAP Season 86 dahil sa kanyang indibidwal na paglahok.

Hindi raw inakala ni Pia ng 7-Mercury na siya ang pararangalan ng UAAP Season 86 Rookie of the Year para sa larangan ng table tennis. Aniya, “Sobrang saya ko noon, kasi first UAAP ko nga, tapos ako pala ‘yung magiging Rookie of the Year. Kasama ko ‘yung family ko, kumain kami sa labas para i-celebrate ‘yung achievement na ito.” Ibinahagi rin ni Pia ang kaniyang naging mindset noong nagdaang season, na kaniya ring babaunin sa mga susunod pang taon. “Para sa akin, dapat palaging positive. Matututo ako sa mga mistakes ko noong nakaraang season, para mabago ko. Kailangang ma-overcome talaga ‘yung pressure kahit mahirap na, dapat focused lang sa game, at huwag matatakot kahit na malalakas ‘yung kalaban.”

“Play to learn, not play to win.” Ito ang mga katagang pinanghawakan ni Pia. Ayon sa kaniya, sobrang unexpected ng kaniyang pagkapanalo at hindi niya inakalang siya ang magiging Rookie of the Year dahil ginawa niya lang ang mga dapat niyang ginagawa sa loob ng court. Ito ay matapos ang kaniyang pagpupursigi sa pag-eensayo at pagpapanatili ng positibo at matibay na mindset upang matiyak na maipapakita sa laro ang mga kakayahan ng koponan.
